one of my favorite things about how the fandom plays with the solas romance is just how diverse it can be
you've got such a range of characters and their reactions to the whole situation and it's so cool to see

I'm so embarrassed! I thought I had replied to your last ask and I didn't😳 I'm sorry!🙈
I hope you're feeling better. I remember recommending you cloud gaming for BG3 so I wonder if you gave that ago and if you did, if it works for you👀
I'm deep in BG3 brainrot🙈😅 I'm in my 4th pt right now lol. I have a stand-by pt of my monk tav in act 3 cause the kiss animation with Astarion with a tav with body type 1 (the smollest one lol) is broken since patch 4. And yes, I'm becoming the kind of person who romances Astarion with every single tav I make😂
I'm curious to see your tavs so please show me whenever you can👀
Here are mine in chronological order of my pts:
Iriel - seldarine drow sorcerer
Tumblr media
(the 2nd pt I did was Astarion's origin so no tav)
Ceres - half-elf monk (on stand-by until Larian fixes the kiss animation with Astarion in act 3 lol)
Tumblr media
Nephalem - high-elf necromancer (current pt)
Tumblr media
And yes, they're all head over heels in love with Astarion🙈😍
I really hope you've got the chance to play BG3 further! If you have, please tell me about your tav(s) and what you think if the game so far👀
I... can't even remember what I sent you, but I gather it was about BG3 LOL I'm feeling much better. I haven't tried your cloud idea yet. I wanted to finish my Adaar run and I replayed DAO instead. Mainly because my friend said during our little Christmas break (we have 4ish days off for it and we're coworkers) he's getting it on his Xbox and I'm gonna go play it with him! Which means when the spiders come I can hide 🤣🤣 I DID make three "Tavs" before I gave up (and I'll be remaking one for the Xbox marathon).
All your Tavs (pts?? pcs??) look SO cool! I wasn't super pleased with how limited the faces were, but you did a great job making each unique. Silly Larian, fix the bug so Ceres can have a kiss! KISS KISS KISS! Oh, also, how is it playing a monk?? I had a tabaxi (cat person) monk in a campaign and she was so fun to rp, does it work out well in bg3?? I think Iriel's design in my favorite, though. I looove that half-buzz cut. Nephalem looks very suave and cool, too 😎
As for my girls, I'll show the few pics I got.
This is Karik, my Moon Circle Wildshaping half-elf Druid! And her dream guardian. I made her look like my current campaign's Tepin Pallis Cuautl Lozano, another Moon Circle Druid Wildshaper 🤭🤭🤭 I wanna romance Lae'zel, but I never met Wyll or Karlach, so... we'll see.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Then, there's Andry Cousland, my og Warden, Warrior-Archer human. I just wanted to see what she'd look like in BG3. Not bad🤔
Tumblr media
Lastly, the one I'm going to remake for the Xbox and I'm super excited for it! I'm probably going to romance Gale, maybe... Anyway, meet:
Agnes, half-elf drow, Trickster Cleric of Tymora
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(you can see where the computer started losing itself and her hair looks weird and pixel-y, but still cute 💖)

Ashariani Lavellan as a Companion
hello!! a few of my friends have done this so i’m excited to do this and i think i might try my hand at a da2 version...we’ll see!
Tumblr media
(sorry i have no in-game screenshots i play on console :///)
Name: Ashariani Lavellan (she/her)
Race, Class, & Specialization: Elf / Mage / Knight-Enchanter
Varric’s nickname for them: Glimmer
Default Tarot Card: The Empress (upright)
How they are recruited: Ashariani can be found talking to the druffalo from Where The Druffalo Roam. When approached, she will:
(if Trevelyan) - Step back cautiously, but look on in amazement, introducing herself.
(if Lavellan) - Introduce herself, asking you if you remember her from the clan. You can either say yes, which will allow her to respond with excitement, or no, which will make her smile fade as she shrugs and mumbles, “Figured.”
(if Cadash or Adaar) - Show visible excitement and claim she’s “never met your people before” before panicking and expressing she hopes that doesn’t offend.
She will explain her clan sent her to look for another member who had not returned and either bring them home or report back what happened to them. She tells you she’ll return the druffalo home if you help her find her clan member. If you agree, the cutscene ends and she and the druffalo disappear, Where The Druffalo Roam being replaced by the quest Lost and Found. Following the quest marker, you find her in the hills. When spoken to, a cutscene begins where she expresses she doesn’t feel safe. A battle with a few Templars takes place. After combat is over, another cutscene starts, and this time Ashariani finds her missing clan member. They are badly injured. She will heal them with her magic, and expresses disappointment as they rush off without a word to her. She’ll turn back to you, explaining that as much as she loves them, she feels out of place with her clan. She offers to join the Inquisition, offering Dalish knowledge (if not Lavellan) and friendliness. If you agree, the cutscene ends and you can add her to your party. If disagree, she will become upset and rush away quickly.
Where they are in Haven: She can be found next to Varric. The two of them seem to be in constant conversation. She is normally sitting on the stone wall behind him, but will occasionally get down and walk around, usually to warm her hands in the fire. The initial conversation with her will have her remark on every companion you have so far, focusing heavily on Varric and/or Iron Bull, if you’ve recruited him by then. She will also express her delight to be accepted in the Inquisition and promises she won’t get into too much trouble, then asks you how you’re doing.
Where they are in Skyhold: She can be found by an empty spot near Cassandra. The initial conversation with her will have Cassandra looking up, yelling at her to come down. You can ask Cassandra who she’s talking to, which will make her scoff and begrudgingly admit it’s Ashariani. You then call up to her and wait a few seconds as she climbs back down. She admits with a smile that she likes to climb and Cassandra walks away, throwing her hands in the air. You can then talk to Ashariani about how she likes Skyhold. She’ll say it’s magnificent and that she’s happy you closed the Breach, but will then sober up and ask you how you are. You can:
tell the truth, admitting Haven shook you up
crack a joke, but eventually admit you’re fine/you’re shaken up
lie, telling her not to worry and that you’ll be just fine
ask her if she’s alright
If asked if she’s alright, she’ll be taken aback and confess Haven scared her a lot, gaining you approval. With medium-high approval, at the end of the conversation, she’ll admit she likes that you’re friends. With high enough approval, you can flirt for the first time, and she’ll become flustered before the conversation ends. Neutral-low approval will gain you a “I’m glad you’re okay” with no follow-up.

QUESTS
War Table:
A Very Important Request
(after reaching Skyhold)
Inquisitor,
Scouts desperately need to go to this location I’ve marked on the map. It’s for very important things. Please send them quickly and report back to ONLY ME what they’ve found. Thank you.
--Ashariani
Options:
>Leliana: Maybe it truly is important. I’ll send out a few scouts.
>Josephine: I do not believe Ashariani would waste our time and resources for something frivolous. However, to be on the safe side, I will send ahead to the nobles in the land to send their own scouts, if it pleases you.
>Cullen: What? This sounds like a waste of time, she won’t even specify what she needs them for! Fine. Two guards, but that’s it.
Results:
>Leliana: My scouts found some rare stones and herbs, but nothing more. I wonder if this is what she wanted?
(Ashariani approves, Prophet’s Laurel x4, Royal Elfroot x2, Everite x2)
>Josephine: Perhaps I was incorrect. Nothing but some rare materials. The scouts were sent home with plenty compensation, so at least we have been put in a better light.
(Ashariani approves, Influence x30, Amrita Vein x3, Felandaris x4, Stormheart x2)
>Cullen: We cannot be wasting our resources like this. We acquired some materials along the way.
(Ashariani slightly approves, Ghoul’s Beard x4, Felandaris x4, Silverite x3)
Another Very Important Request
(after A Very Important Request)
Inquisitor,
Sorry to bother you once more. Please send people to Val Royeaux to obtain these materials. They’re for a very important project, I promise. Mae gen ti fy ngair [you have my word].
--Ashariani
(below is a list of materials: ring velvet, silk brocade, dales loden wool, and imperial vestment cotton)
Options:
>Leliana: Again? What could she possibly be making? I can send one or two scouts out to fetch these items.
>Josephine: She is persistent, is she not? A few favors can be exchanged for these materials at no cost to us. It will be done.
>Cullen: (not participating in this mission)
Results:
>Leliana: The materials were easy enough to obtain. Our scouts being spotted in public created quite a buzz.
(Ashariani approves, Influence x50, Ring Velvet x3, Silk Brocade x3, Dales Loden Wool x3, Imperial Vestment Cotton x 3)
>Josephine: The materials have been collected. We’ve created quite a stir with all this running around.
(Ashariani approves, Influence x50, Ring Velvet x3, Silk Brocade x3, Dales Loden Wool x3, Imperial Vestment Cotton x 3)
Companion Quest:
For What?
(after Another Very Important Request)
When spoken to, Ashariani will request you personally go to the map location previously mentioned in A Very Important Request. If denied, she will disapprove and claim she is going there herself and the cutscene will end. If this happens, she will not be available for your party the first time you leave Skyhold after that conversation (she will return after). If accepted, Ashariani is locked into your party and a temporary location appears on your map.
Upon arriving, you are immediately attacked by bandits who had heard the Inquisition had visited. After the battle, Ashariani apologizes and asks you to collect the metals and herbs. Once you find all of the materials, she will exclaim, “Perfect!” which will gain some confused remarks from your companions, which she will not truthfully respond to. You are then allowed to leave the location and it disappears from your map.
After visiting two more locations after that, upon returning to Skyhold, Ashariani will run up and greet you. She will ask if you’ll take her and Iron Bull to slay a high dragon and collect its bone and webbing. You can:
say yes / say yes and flirt (female only)
say yes, but ask her why
say no
express confusion, as she has protested to killing dragons before
Option 1: Causes her great joy, she jumps in the air before giggling and running off, thanking you in the process. The cutscene ends.
Option 2: She’ll get excited, then give you a cryptic answer before thanking you and running off. The Inquisitor says, “She’s determined to keep it a secret, huh?” and the cutscene ends.
Option 3: She will ask you if you’re serious, to which you can reply yes or no. If yes, she will become very upset and mumble something about you disappointing her, and the cutscene ends, gaining you major disapproval. If no, she’ll breathe out a sigh of relief and smile, punching you in the arm for teasing her. She thanks you and the cutscene ends.
Option 4: She’ll shrug, trying to look nonchalant, and say, “someone has changed my mind.” You can press this further by asking who, but she’ll only press her finger to her lips. Options A, B, and C are offered again and the cutscene follows accordingly.
If accepted, she and Iron Bull are locked into your party. You’ll get a few lines of dialogue between Iron Bull and Ashariani as they approach the high dragon, and some after. After collecting the bone and webbing, she thanks you and you gain major approval. After a visit to Skyhold and back, when arriving at Skyhold again, a cutscene immediately starts.
All of your companions (minus Blackwall and Vivienne) and the advisors are found in the Herald’s Rest. Upon your arrival, the tavern bursts into cheers, and Ashariani reveals that she’s been making gifts for everyone, explaining that Vivienne already has hers and she didn’t want to come to the party and doesn’t even mention Blackwall (but implies he didn’t get a gift). Some are clothes, jewelry, weapons, and armor, and each companion has their moment of showing off their gift. Iron Bull makes note to mention that his is a pink shawl with dragon bone accents, and he loves it. Ashariani then tells the Inquisitor she arranged the party and they had a gift of their own, which is a powerful set of armor. You can:
accept the gift and thank Ashariani / accept the gift and flirt with Ashariani (female only)
accept the gift but shut down the party, telling everyone to get back to work
deny the gift and lash out at Ashariani for wasting so much of your time
Option 1: She will give you a hug and the cutscene will end, fading to black as the crowd sings and dances. (note: flirting with her will gain some positive teasing companion comments).
Option 2: You will gain disapproval from every companion present, mostly Ashariani. Iron Bull will try to convince you to change your mind. You can accept or deny. If denied, you will walk out and the cutscene will end with Iron Bull comforting Ashariani. If accepted, Iron Bull punches you in the arm and the mood shifts back to a good one, the cutscene ending with a fade to black as the crowd dances.
Option 3: You will gain major disapproval from every companion present, mostly Ashariani. Iron Bull and Varric will step up to defend her.
Iron Bull: Come on, Boss. She was trying to do something nice for us.
(if in a romance with Bull): Kadan. Is that necessary? She was trying to do something nice for you.
Varric: (sarcastically) Calm down, Inquisitor. We’re all just having a bit of fun during the apocalypse.
(if in a romance with Solas) Solas: (sternly) Vhenan. May I speak to you privately?
You can then choose to apologize or leave the party without a word. Leaving the party will gain more disapproval from Ashariani, enough to completely end the friendship. If apologized to, Ashariani will put on a brave face and accept your apology, but leave the party looking dejected, earning you disapproval. Sera will exclaim, “What’s up [their] arse, huh?” and the cutscene will fade to black with companions filing out of the Herald’s Rest, looking angry/upset.
Romance Quest:
A New Beginning
(after For What?)
Upon visiting Ashariani’s normal spot, you find Varric instead. He tells you he hasn’t been able to find Ashariani all day, and he’s getting worried. Not knowing where to find her, you go to Solas, who tells you she’s swimming in a lake not that far from Skyhold. You can ask him if anything’s wrong, to which he will simply purse his lips and say, “It is not my place to say.”
The scene shifts to approaching the lake, where you find Ashariani sitting outside of the water, talking to a halla. When approached, she will become startled, then bashful, hiding her face. Tears are noticeably glistening on her cheeks. She then draws attention to the halla, petting them again. She explains that the halla’s name is Annwyl, and she was her friend back in the clan. Clan Lavellan had sent Annwyl to Ashariani for her efforts in the Inquisition, as well as some gifts for the Inquisitor, which she gives to you. You can ask her why she’s crying, to which she will respond with, “I don’t know.” You can press further or leave it be, which will end the cutscene.
When pressed further, she will get emotional, exclaiming that she’s found out her brother has died. She explains the incident and sits back down, crying into her hands. You can:
sit down next to her and talk to her (flirt)
ask her if she wants to go back to Skyhold (flirt)
leave her alone without a word (no chance for romance after this)
Whether you sit down with her or ask her to go to Skyhold, the conversation is the same: after telling you a bit about him, she asks you if she can attend her brother’s funeral. A yes answer is locked in, however she will ask you to go with her, and this is what you can say yes or no to. You can:
say yes (flirt)
say no (no chance for romance after this)
ask why she wants you to go with her
If no, she’ll nod her head and say she understands and that she appreciates the time you’ve given her to talk about him. The scene will end there. If yes, she’ll smile, and it will cut to his funeral. If asked why, she’ll tell you she holds you close to her heart and it would mean a lot to her if you were there with her. After the funeral, when you return to Skyhold, Ashariani will express her gratefulness for your support. You can then kiss her (starting the official romance) or accept her thank you and move on, ending the scene and any chance of romance.
If kissed, she will hold her hand over her mouth in shock, her face becoming red. She’ll then surge forward and kiss you again, throwing herself into your arms. You both kiss for a moment before Ashariani whispers, “Thank you,” while looking at the ground. Here you can make a sweet, snarky, or silly comment, to any of which she will smile and kiss you again. With that, she’ll grab your hand and say goodnight, holding onto your hand for as long as she can before your fingers slip out of hers. The cutscene fades to black.
Side Quest(s):
For Him
(after Demands of the Qun - only if Chargers were saved)
Acquire a powerful axe for Iron Bull hidden somewhere in the Hissing Wastes. You will gain approval from both Ashariani and Iron Bull, and later, when talking to Iron Bull, will experience a cutscene where Iron Bull is thanking her for the gift.
//
Bianca
(after Here Lies The Abyss - only if Hawke was sacrificed)
Acquire enough materials to craft a powerful addition for Bianca for Varric. Once crafted, equip Bianca with it. Once equipped, a cutscene will play where Varric is shooting with Bianca, showing off to Ashariani. As you walk away, Varric has a soft quiet moment where he thanks Ashariani and promises her he’ll be okay.
//
It’s A Date Then?
(after A New Beginning)
Acquire a gift for Ashariani and she’ll say she loves you. The gift (a pressed leather journal) can be obtained from the Dalish clan in the Exalted Plains. This will trigger a small cutscene where she expresses excitement over it and confesses that she loves you. You can say you love her too or that you’re not quite there yet, and either way she will be happy.
Cole’s reflection on their thoughts:
“So engulfed and yet, so alone. She fights and fights to stay something they could be proud of.”
“Bubbles, popping to the surface of a still lake. Change, but not too much. Warm, fuzzy feelings in her chest. Happiness is in reach, she hopes.”
“Friend. She helps, not harms. She sings, not screams. She is nice to me. I am nice to her.”
“Lost, fighting, breaking through the surface. He’s gone. But they’re here. They can make it go away. They can make her whole again.”
“She climbs and climbs, knowing there is a possibility of a fall. But she’s fallen before. No fear, she bounds from building to building, tree to tree. Where she’s free. Where there is no green, no screams, no evil. Just free.”
“Warmth. Warmth when they approach, their smile shining in the sunlight. Sunlight, beaming into her heart and warming her insides. Safe.” [about the Inquisitor]
“Warmth. Warmth when she’s nearby, honey sweet on her tongue. She is safe. She is warm. She is home.” [about Eloise]

Good to see you again.” / “Where are we going, Sunshine?” / (romance) “Wonderful to see you, Vhenan.” / “Hello, Sunlight.”
TRAVEL BANTER WITH COMPANIONS
Cassandra: What is that touching fists thing you two do all the time? It is ridiculous.
Dorian: Never heard of a fist bump, Seeker? What’s wrong with having a bit of fun?
Cassandra: It’s distracting.
Ashariani: Aw, come on Cassandra. You should try it sometime! Really forms the bonds of friendship.
Dorian: (laughs) You are simply adorable.
Varric (if in party): Oh, don’t worry, Glimmer. Cassandra just doesn’t know the definition of fun.
Sera (if in party): That’s nothing compared to our secret handshake, yeah? You should see it, Seeker. It involves our butts!
Cassandra: (Disgusted noise).
//
Iron Bull: You know, you’re surprisingly light.
Ashariani: Really? I didn’t hurt your shoulders?
Iron Bull: (laughs) Kid, you’d have to weigh about 60 pounds more to even make a dent on me.
Inquisitor: You really have to stop letting her ride on your shoulders during battle.
Ashariani: But it’s fun!
Sera (if in party): Can I have a go? No reason why she should have all the fun, yeah?
Vivienne (if in party): Fun does not always mean safe, my dear. I would proceed with caution when tempting fate as such.
Ashariani (to Sera): Of course! (to Vivienne): Yes, ma’am.
//
Solas: Do you miss home, Ashariani?
Ashariani: Sometimes. Do you?
Solas: No. Though the thought of a home to return to is a pleasant one.
Ashariani: You have no home?
Solas: (chuckles) The Inquisition is my home now. Isn’t that more than one could hope for?
Ashariani: Yeah...I guess so. I’m glad you feel at home here.
Solas: I wish the same of you, Letha’lin.
Varric (if in party): Are you guys done with the sappy, cryptic talk yet? This isn’t good material for my stories.
Ashariani: (giggles).
Leaving the Inquisition: It takes a lot to get Ashariani to leave, but if you gain enough approval, she will come to you in tears, and tell you she doesn’t think the Inquisition is the right place for her anymore. She will wish you well and ask you to tell the others she says she’ll keep in touch. You can choose to beg her to stay, in which she will, but only if you don’t net any more disapproval before new approval, or tell her she can leave. She will then say goodbye, muttering bad things, and walk off, the cutscene ending and her leaving the Inquisition forever.

Necromancy
It’s past Midnight, here’s #2 prompt
“I cannot believe of all the people, you had to go for the guy who brings people back from the dead.”
“He’s not a Mortalitasi.” Arn argued.
“No, he’s a fucking necromancer. Not a fucking neck-romancer. Those two a very different things.” Thomas raised an eyebrow at Arn. All his life getting thrown from Circle to Circle, he lands with the inquisition and dealing with some rather dense lad.
Arn looked at him blankly.
“Inquisitor Adaar, you are afraid of the dead. The Fallow Mire really reinforced that.”
“I don’t-- That’s not the same.”
“Inquisitor I hate to speak out of turn, but how the fuck isn’t that the same?” Thomas was blunt, he was too tired and too old to give a damn how people viewed him, Arn apricated that.
“You bedding a bloke that could kill you and then bring you back to make you his fucking puppet and shit.” Sera interjected from her comfy spot at the table. The Tavern was lively so no one would here this conversation. “I can’t believe I'm siding with the mage here, but you thinking right?”
“He’s not gonna do it to me!” Arn argued.
“Yes he will!”
“If he would, he would have done it already. He actually heals me rather than bringing me back from the dead.” Arn argued.
Both Thomas and Sera stared at him, bewilder that he didn’t see their point.
“Look, if you two are just going to attack me for a friendship with Dorian--”
“It’s not a friendship.” Thomas scoffed. He knew a man head over-heels for someone. He’d been there more than once in the last 40 years.
“If you’re just going to keep poking me for an answer you want, you need to stop.” Arn left the table. Thomas and Sera watching him as he went.
Arn found himself wondering, following his usual path to the Library. Dorian sat there, in his large pink chair, book in hand, ignoring the world around him. However he was the first to speak.
“What brings you here, Inquisitor?”
“You don’t have to call me that, remember?” Arn sighed.
“Darling, we are out in public. If I don’t call you by your title, a loud hen will run up the stairs to cluck at me for hours.” Dorian quipped.
“I’ve never seen the Chicken come into the library before, the furthest she’s got was the Tavern.”
“Arn...” Dorian said in a low, quiet voice. Arn realized he wasn’t talking about the chicken they had found on their way back from Redcliffe that one time, it was about a chantry mother in the gardens below.   Arn snapped back once he processed Dorian’s tone. The way Dorian said his name though, oh did that make him pay attention. His smile under his mustache, the way he would fold his book up. But it wasn’t about that. While Arn moved close to some seclusion in Dorian’s little alcove, he remember why he came.
“Dorian, I need to ask you something.” He asked as Dorian’s arms snaked around his wait.
“Oh?” The tone was questioning, lingering with something else, Arn couldn’t quite place it. “Did you want to do something together?” Dorian’s tone changed back. Arn noted that.
“No-- I mean yes, but not now. Maybe.” Arn sighed, straightening up. “Dorian. I need you to promise me something.”
A look a dread flashed over his face. Arn steeled his nerves.
Please don’t ask me what I think you’re about to. Dorian thought to himself over and over. He wasn’t ready for anything like this, there was too much going on, he had no time to think. Arn held Dorian shoulder firmly. Oh Maker, please don’t tell me you're dying. Well maybe that then the other thing. Maybe neither, hopefully NONE.
“Please don’t bring me back from the dead.”
Dorian waited for an ‘and’.
There was nothing, only Arn with a worried look on his face.
Dorian nodded, “If that’s what you want, I will comply.”
“You will?” Arn was shocked.
“Of cause! I don’t think Lady Seeker will be too happy to find that I, not only got the Inquisitor killed, but also doing the thing she hates the most and bringing you back to life.”
“She would get very mad.”
“I would bet my life she would kill me. Besides what brought this on?”
Arn let out a long sigh.
“Did Thomas by any chance decided to have a talk about my necromancy?”
“Yeah, how did you know?”
“Florence, the wonder that she is.” Wonder she’s not dead yet, he thought. “Asked me about it the other day. She told me Thomas wouldn't have a bar of it, so I gave her something on it. Thomas is a Circle Mage. He’s not as opened minded about certain Magics as some of us are.”
“You can call him a crotchety old man if you want, I wont tell him.”
“I’ve told him enough times, don’t worry.” Dorian laughed. “And don’t worry, I won’t use my skills to bring you back from the dead. If you’re that way inclined. I know how much you are not a fan on the dead.”
“You too?”
“Darling, it’s not that hard to notice. The Fallow Mire, for starters.”  Arn huffed.  Dorian cupped his face so gently. “If that’s you’re only fault, I think I will live.”

Family/Friends/Love Life
Relationship with their parents: Garrett was very close to Malcolm. As the firstborn and a fellow mage, he had plenty of time to bond with his father and follow in his footsteps. His relationship with Leandra wasn't as solid, though. He always wanted to make her proud, but she put a lot on him after his father died, and he mostly just accepted that she needed someone to take her pain out on
Siblings (outside of canon): Surprising or no, Hawke really loves Carver. He's not great at being serious and all that, but he does actually care and would do anything for his younger brother. He also realizes how much Carver has had to deal with and is willing to be an emotional punching bag whenever he needs it. His relationship with Bethany was a lot better, since they spent a lot of time learning magic together, and she was more willing to let loose than Carver. She was his rock, and the rest of the family's too, and her loss affected him deeply
Best friend(s): Varric, Isabella, Anders (initially), and Inquisitor Adaar (if she is able to exist in the RP)
Companion(s) they get along best with: Fenris, Isabella, Varric, Merrill, and Anders (initially)
Companion(s) they get along worst with: Carver (one-sided), Sebastian, and Anders (eventually)
Companion(s) from other games in the series you wish they could meet, and why: Alistair back when he was a Grey Warden, just because of the sheer amount of goofy himbo energy they both have
Age of sexual debut: Probably around 16 or 17 (but please don't be creepy about it; mun is ace and is only basing this age on what they heard about from their peers in high school)
Romanced: Fenris (RPs will not go beyond flirting with anyone he met after this man who stole his heart)
Relationship status as of the end of Inquisition: Partners
Are there any songs that particularly suit their romance?:
All On Me by Devin Dawson (with altered gender terms)
Did I Mention by Jeff Lewis and Mitchell Hope (again, altering gendered vocabulary)
Arms by Christina Perri
Latch by Sam Smith
What are they like as a romantic partner?: Snarky and playful, but ultimately putty in his partner's hands. He's a bit of a hopeless romantic and will turn his whole life upside down to please the one he loves. Also prone to grand romantic gestures and spontaneous displays of affection
Do they enjoy cuddling?: Absolutely!
Do they want children?: Not particularly
Do they (now or eventually) have children?: No
Skills
Can they cook?: A bit
Can they sing/play an instrument?: Sing? Sure. Play an instrument? No
Are they a good dancer? If not, do they do it anyway?: He can be, but it's much more fun to goof off and entertain the people around him
Do they have any creative hobbies?: Not really
Any martial training beyond their main weapon?: Malcolm trained him in swordfighting before his magic kicked in
Languages spoken: The common tongue and a bit of Tevene he picked up from Fenris
Any other unique skills they'd like us to know about?: He's pretty talented at drinking, but anything else he'd like you to know probably wouldn't be appropriate to repeat

FIC: Set All Trappings Aside [8/9]
Rating: T Fandom: Dragon Age: Inquisition Pairing: f!Adaar/Josephine Montilyet Tags: Friends to Lovers, Mutual Pining, Class Differences Word Count: 5000 (this chapter) Summary: After months of flirtation, a contract on Josephine’s life brings Adaar’s feelings for her closer to the surface than ever. It highlights, too, all of their differences, all of the reasons a relationship between them would not last. But Adaar is a hopeful woman at heart; if Josephine can set all trappings aside, then so can she. Also on AO3. Notes: While the context for this story is the Of Somewhat Fallen Fortune questline, some of the conversations within it didn’t quite fit for this Inquisitor. The resulting fic is a twist on the canon romance. This Adaar and Josephine have featured in other fics, so you may miss a little context if you haven’t read Promising or Truth-Telling, which both come before this one. Chapter-specific note:  All of the remaining chapters are up on AO3; they’ll be posted more slowly here on tumblr so as not to clog your dashboards.
Chapter 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7
"She's late," Bull said.
Dorian rolled his eyes. "You don't say."
Cassandra, ignoring them both, continued to look toward the village through her spyglass. Josephine watched her, hands clammy. They were all awfully comfortable with the idea that something had already gone wrong. Perhaps from long practice.
Josephine, unfortunately, wasn't practiced at all.
Cassandra lowered the spyglass. "That's the last of them."
"Really," Bull said, doubtfully. "All of 'em in the tavern?"
"Or standing around outside it." She tucked the spyglass into her belt. "Ten, all told. A few in older gear, but otherwise well-equipped."
"I'd've left some men out in the field. They have enough to spare for that. Catch us off-guard when we're in the middle of cracking heads."
"I believe they hope that if they are all in one place, you can be prevented from doing that," Dorian said dryly.
"We'll see how that works out for them."
"No change to the plan, then," Josephine broke in.
They all looked to her, as if they'd forgotten she was there. Fair enough. She wasn't usually here when they did this kind of thing. And after this experience, she hoped she never would be again.
"If she wasn't fast enough to observe without being made, none of us are," Bull said. "So either she's injured or worse, and we need to ride to the rescue sooner rather than later—"
"Bull," Dorian said, not exasperated now, but sharp. Maybe Josephine's face had given away something of how she felt about this hypothetical scenario.
"—or she's just tied up, and we might as well get on with it," Bull went on, perfectly even. "We're not going to figure out more about these people by standing out here with our thumbs up our asses."
Dorian glared at Bull. "If they've gone to the trouble of luring her here, she's probably the picture of—"
"She'd rather know the score than listen to me lie," Bull interrupted.
"We don't gain anything by waiting," Cassandra said, taking over. "She is very good with those daggers, but not good enough to handle a dozen opponents at once."
"She lacks the reach," Bull agreed.
Josephine looked to Cassandra again, who looked back at her, frowning. "They're not Red Templars," she said, not reassuring—that was not Cassandra's forte—but simply conveying facts. "I'm certain of that much. Well-outfitted, but no identifying regalia."
"Professionals, then," Bull said. "Not hungry folk."
"I just imagined I would know more about them than that when I walked into this negotiation," Josephine said.
"We always knew that we would have limited information," Cassandra pointed out. "Besides, you have worked miracles before. I have watched you change the mood at many a meeting in a single blink."
"To you, it may certainly seem that way. There is a lot of groundwork before we reach that point." Josephine took a deep breath. "And the stakes here are higher."
"Nah," Bull said. "Just think—usually we have to do this part without you."
Dorian looked torn between outrage and amusement. "You are creating more and more problems for future Adaar, you know."
"She can handle it," Bull said easily, and winked at Josephine. Well, maybe he just blinked. It was hard to tell.
"Very well," Josephine said, ignoring all of this regardless. "Let's waste no more time."
They took the wagon-rutted road on foot, leaving the horses tied at the turnstile that marked the highway. Josephine took the opportunity, as they walked, to unwind the chain of office that had been packed carefully away in her saddlebags and don it again.
"If they are as well-researched as they seem," she said, to Cassandra's questioning look, "then best they know who they're dealing with from the outset."
Cassandra's mouth twitched toward a smile. "They may be so distracted by the idea of all the money they don't know that we don't have that it will all be over before opening remarks."
"You would like that," Josephine said mildly. "Given your distaste for wasting time."
"Mmm," Cassandra said, noncommittal, but still she smiled. She hadn't drawn her sword, but her hand rested on the pommel; she watched the fields, eyes seeking any sign of movement.
Josephine spoke more quietly this time. "Do you think she really could be injured?"
Cassandra's gaze flicked to her, just for a moment. She hesitated before answering. "Yes. Anything is possible. If this is a hopeful grab for money, though, they would be stupid to seriously wound her." She let out a barely-audible sigh. "As long as she keeps her mouth shut. But if these people know her...if they wish to harm her because of some personal vendetta...well, she is resilient. She will recover."
Adaar had once told Josephine a story too terrible to be false. Now she had a hard time forgetting it, the images it had evoked: the close cellar, the tortured sawing of blade against horn, the just-in-time arrival of the Valo-kas.
She'd promised Adaar that no one would do that to her, ever again. She hoped that she was not too late.
"And if it's worse?" Josephine asked, swallowing the lump in her throat.
"She would fight," Cassandra said easily. "To her dying breath. We would already have heard the ruckus." She paused, considering. "And if she got the opportunity, she would run."
Josephine held onto that through the long walk down into the valley, where the light from the Dancing Star still gleamed, brighter and brighter, resolving clearly now into firelight, not a star at all. The others didn't talk much, either, all preparing in their own way: Cassandra, steadily alert; Bull, whistling a low tune; Dorian, fingers tapping out a rhythm on his staff; and Josephine, combing over the possibilities, trying to think of what she'd missed, trying to guess at every angle this adversary might arrive from.
Five mercenaries stood just outside the tavern building, bright with nervous energy. They perked up when they saw the group. "Nice of you to finally join us," one of them—a lean woman with her hair braided tightly out of the way—called out. "No funny business means no mages." She pointed at Dorian. "Give up your staff."
"Of course, good woman." Without any apparent hesitation, Dorian threw the stick at her, maybe a touch harder than necessary. She fumbled the catch a little.
"Boss wants to talk to someone agreeable," she said. She leaned the staff against the wall behind her. "Amenable, like. Just one."
Some might call the diplomats, merchants, and nobles Josephine dealt with mercenary, but she had rarely dealt with actual mercenaries. Still, they were just people, in the end. People she wanted something from, who wanted something from her.
So she had gotten through many moments like this. She had just not been bargaining for her heart, then.
But her head took over. Like Adaar's long years of practice with a blade, Josephine had honed her craft until it was muscle memory, until it was second nature. She did not hesitate.
"Lady Josephine Montilyet," she said, stepping forward. She did not curtsy. "Chief Diplomat of the Inquisition. I believe that I will serve." Before they could get halfway through their uneasy looks to one another—maybe they hadn't bargained on quite so high an officer—she pressed ruthlessly on. "I must insist, however, that I bring some protection to the table. Cassandra will accompany me."
This was important; they would have a hard time inside, at the crucial moment, if only Adaar and Josephine were on hand to deal with the number Cassandra had marked going into the tavern—or, worse, if Adaar wasn't in there at all.
The woman said, "Boss said just one."
Josephine smiled, unthreatening, polite. "Two is not so different than one. We come in good faith; our mage has already surrendered his weapon; this is the nature of compromise."
With a scowl, the woman flung open the door to the tavern. Josephine heard the murmur of conversation through the thin walls. She listened with half an ear in case the words became discernible while she observed the others.
One of the men, standing a few feet to the right of the tavern door, had paled. His eyes flicked from Josephine's chain of office to the tall, tall points of Bull's horns. His armor was older than the rest, not as well-fitted or well-maintained. The mercenary standing beside him wore a similar outfit, but his jaw was set. He did not look at their group at all.
The woman reappeared, a sour twist to her mouth. "You two, go in." She gestured to Josephine and Cassandra. "You two, stay put." She pointed at Bull and Dorian. Bull made a display of scratching his belly and yawning.
"Thank you," Josephine said pleasantly, and led the way into the tavern.
It had been mostly cleared. There were a handful of small tables in front of the hearth, where three of the mercenaries stood; one of them broke off, following Josephine and Cassandra to the table that stood apart from the rest, where one man sat.
Adaar was on the ground behind him.
She still catalogued the rest of the room, took in all the information she could: a third mercenary near the hearth with lopsided leather armor; the old man behind the bar on the wall opposite, shoulders hunched, watching the room from beneath a furrowed brow; the man at the table, tossing one of Adaar's daggers idly as he watched them approach.
But she spared a heartbeat for Adaar, to feel the relief that she was alive, even if she couldn't allow it to show on her face.
Adaar knelt on the tavern floor, a mercenary to either side of her, their weapons already drawn, guarding. The neutral expression on her face spoke to how deeply annoyed she really was; Josephine had seen it now and then, when a visitor to Skyhold got too pushy with their demands. But her dark eyes met Josephine's, and they were steady, unafraid. There was a suspicious red shininess around one of her eyes, but she appeared otherwise unharmed.
They'd bound her hands behind her back, a problem she was likely already working on, especially now that the mercenaries were distracted by newcomers. Josephine would need to buy her time.
"Ah," Adaar said, breaking the silence. "The cavalry."
"Shut up," the man at the table said, eyeing Cassandra. "Moiraine failed to mention that your bodyguard is the bloody Hero of Orlais."
"I assure you," Cassandra said, in a tone that no one would have believed, "tales of my exploits have been greatly exaggerated."
It would be best to remove attention from her, immediately. "I don't think it's unreasonable to enlist such a chaperone," Josephine said, "considering the number of soldiers you have in this room."
Six, by her count. Just one more than Cassandra had marked. Bull and Dorian would have their hands full outside once it all began, and in these quarters, she would have a hard time keeping out of the way. It was several feet to the bar counter; she wondered if she would be fast enough to dive behind it before the mercenary standing behind her could act.
She sat. The man at the table still held one of Adaar's daggers, though he'd stopped tossing it. The other lay on the table in front of him like a trophy. She heard the mercenary behind her settle into position—no weapon drawn, and within reach of Cassandra, but the casual threat was clear.
"I assume your lieutenant already introduced me," she said. The man across from her glanced at her chain of office, as if in acknowledgment. "Who do I have the pleasure of dealing with?"
He sneered. "Ellis Koster," he replied. "Of Koster's Carvers."
The company name didn't give Josephine much confidence, but she pressed on. "I wish we'd made this acquaintance under more pleasant circumstances, but we must make the best of what we have." She folded her hands on the table in front of her. "So, to business: what do you want?"
He pulled a folded slip of paper from his breastplate, placed it on the table, and slid it across to Josephine under the point of his forefinger. There was a smug look about his face, every movement slow and exaggerated, as if he'd always dreamed of doing it—holding all the power, dictating to others.
She had been afraid, waiting for Adaar's return, realizing she wasn't coming. But now—now, seeing this foul man put a price on the head of the woman she loved, seeing him crush it beneath his insignificant finger, she was angry. She was furious.
She took the paper, unfolded it, and read the sum with a carefully schooled expression. Even had she been seriously considering the ransom, it was a preposterous amount. No one could be under any illusions that the Inquisition had such deep coffers.
She adjusted her understanding of his intelligence.
"What offense has the Inquisitor made against you to make such an amount appropriate?" she asked, looking up again.
A little surprise tugged at his features. "Against me, personally? None."
"Then I find it hard to believe that you demand this payment seriously," Josephine said, setting the folded paper delicately on the table.
"This ain't a court, Ambassador. I've got something you want; you've got something I want. I baited a trap, and this is the tax you pay to get out of it."
"I see," Josephine said. "Well, then I think you know that this is far too much to demand for one person."
A little of the lurid anticipation fell from his face. "That so."
She did not elaborate; she simply waited, keeping all eyes on her. She had learned early in her career that silence was a powerful weapon. Even now, she saw it doing its insidious work: sowing doubt, planting second thoughts—not just in Koster, but in his thugs.
One, in particular. The woman by the hearth with the ill-fitting armor. The rest of them showed discomfort in other ways, in a hardening of the brow, a shifting of weight, but this one had panic in the twist of her mouth, in the nervous flex of her fingers.
The barkeep, by contrast, had stilled. He glared—not at Koster, Josephine, or Adaar, but at the nervous woman across the room.
Interesting.
"Because it seems to me," Koster said, breaking the silence, "that there's not much of an Inquisition without an Inquisitor."
Josephine felt the flush of a minor victory. He hadn't been able to outlast her, and now, whether he understood it or not, she had reclaimed some of the power he had tried to hold over her.
"The Rift is closed," Josephine said, choosing her tone carefully. Bored, relaying outdated facts. Her attention already turned to other, more serious things. "The days of paying off common thugs so that we can retain the Inquisitor's services are past. There is the matter of Corypheus, certainly, but we will be able to make do, I believe. After all," she gestured to Cassandra, "we are among esteemed company."
She sat back, physically signalling her disengagement, ignoring the discomfort of putting herself any nearer to the thug behind her. Adaar was no longer looking at her, she saw; she was instead focused on the mercenary by the hearth, the woman the barkeep was glaring at. She avoided Adaar's eyes. Her hands had curled into fists.
The barkeep knew this woman, Josephine realized. And so did Adaar.
"That's too bad," Koster said, drawing her attention back to him. "Too bad for you, I mean."
Josephine tilted her head to the side, as if vaguely curious. "Oh? How so?"
He put the dagger down on the table and leaned forward. "You can't imagine I'll let you leave, Ambassador, if you don't give me what I want. The next person to sit in that chair might be more interested in playing ball if we have half your war table in our cellars."
Josephine allowed a beat of silence, and then she brought a hand to her mouth to cover an amused laugh.
"By all means, Messere," she said, twisting the honorific into a taunt. "Show us to our accommodations. We will see who decides to negotiate with you next. For your sake, I do hope Nightingale does not take an interest."
Finally, he betrayed a twitch of unease. She'd guessed correctly; his mercenaries had recognized her, and he had recognized Cassandra. Not a small leap to imagine he'd heard of Leliana—and some of her less savory methods of doing business.
Sometimes it was good to have questionable friends.
"Perhaps it's time for us to move on, then," Koster said, staring Josephine down. "We'll take what we need from these fine people and make ourselves scarce." He had an ugly, unkind grin. "Wouldn't do to leave anyone to tattle on us, though, would it?"
"You said no one would get hurt!" a new, shaking voice broke in.
Josephine judged it acceptable to look toward the woman. She'd taken a step forward from the hearth; the other mercenary, a few feet away from her, put his hand on the pommel of his sword, frowning.
"Vilya," Adaar said, her voice low, "don't—"
"I told you to shut up," Koster snapped over his shoulder. He pointed at Vilya. "And you—"
The situation was rapidly escalating out of her control, but Josephine had bought enough time. Adaar's gaze swept the room, cataloguing and assessing, muscles tensed on the verge of movement. She was ready.
Josephine caught Cassandra's eye and gave the tiniest of nods, one that Koster, distracted by a room of unraveling threads, wouldn't notice. Cassandra's sword made a magnificent, ominous sound as she pulled it from the sheath. All eyes went to her.
In that moment, Adaar was meant to act. Josephine was meant to dive for cover.
But Josephine wanted more than to cower in a corner while others took care of this creature. He had made it necessary to say untrue things, words that had left such a sour taste in her mouth. She would play a small part more in his demise.
She snatched up Adaar's daggers.
"Catch!" she called, and threw the blades to Adaar.
Adaar was already moving. She had one foot planted on the floor beneath her; her hands, trailing snapped rope, reached up to pluck the clumsily-thrown daggers from midair. Her rise was graceful, effortless, and as she straightened to a height taller than either mercenary flanking her, she left a dagger in each of their chests. She never took her eyes from Josephine.
"Duck," she replied.
The room erupted. Josephine scrambled under the negotiation table. She heard the whistle of a near miss above her; the mercenary standing guard over her had acted, but too late. Only a second later, his body thudded to the ground behind her. Cassandra's sword had found an opening.
Three down, she thought, pulling her knees tight to her chest, so as to present the smallest possible target.
From her vantage point, she couldn't see much. She saw Koster's boots and Adaar's bare feet, moving, in and out, back and forth; she heard the snarls of his rage and Adaar's eerie silence. When she dared glance over to her right, she saw Cassandra's greaves, the occasional flash as the firelight reflected off her sword—and her opponent's. She kept him crowded near the hearth, blocking his path to his commander.
Vilya's was the only face Josephine could see. She'd backed into the far corner, huddled on the ground behind the tables and chairs.
Josephine returned her attention to the fight in front of her. She stared at the light way Adaar's feet moved across the dirty floorboards. Her footing was so sure, so graceful. Koster lunged and hacked, and Adaar, without the benefit of armor or boots, moved fluidly out of his way—and yet, at the same time, closer. Trying to get inside the reach of his weapon. There was a yelp—she'd made contact—and then an angry bellow; her points made, Adaar slipped out of reach.
But Koster was not ready to give up. Josephine had hoped that the blood now dotting the floor would slow him down; instead, he stopped swinging so wildly, waited, focused. She heard him give a mean, breathless laugh, and her blood ran cold.
"I've heard tales of your skill," he said. "Glad you measured up to the challenge. But someone got the better of you once. Maybe I'll take the other horn, as a trophy."
Adaar didn't rise to the bait. Josephine had seen her temper, secret, boiling. But she directed it as she liked; it did not direct her.
Josephine could hear the smile in her voice. "I've been saying for years that I'm just not symmetrical anymore."
The battle rejoined. Their feet moved faster now, the movements so quick they left Josephine breathless. She clenched her fists and watched, not daring to blink.
Now and then, she saw the length of Koster's sword, just barely sweeping into view. It was after one such upswing that she heard a dull, sickening thud.
Adaar had frozen in place, her stance unbalanced, wobbling. Koster gave another nasty laugh. Josephine tossed a panicked look toward Cassandra, but she was still occupied with the other mercenary.
She cast around frantically for a weapon, found her guard's fallen sword, and snatched it up. Then she crawled toward the fight, the scene coming into view as she peered out from beneath the table.
Koster's sword was stuck in Adaar's horn. Josephine's heart seized, but Adaar was smirking, and after a second's panic, Josephine understood why: the sword was truly stuck, about a third of the blade's width trapped in the horn. Koster pulled and pulled at it, the look on his face transforming from triumph to concern, and Adaar only turned her head in a way that made pulling it free harder.
"Sorry, is the angle bad?" Adaar asked, all innocence.
The next time he pulled, she pulled too, away from his sword. The sudden release of the blade threw him off-balance; he caught himself on the backfoot, but not fast enough. Adaar had used the moment to move in, lightning-quick, daggers extended. She crashed into him, toppling them both to the floor.
For a long, terrifying moment, they both lay still. Josephine could not move, could not breathe—
Then Adaar, with a hard exhale, rolled off Koster's body. The hilts of her two daggers stuck up from his torso. One had left his breastplate askew, no longer protecting his ribs; Adaar must have cut the leather fasteners that held front to back, at his sides, on an earlier pass.
The other, she'd left in his neck. Blood was still pumping from that wound, though sluggishly. Josephine's stomach turned, but she ignored it. She scrambled out from beneath the table, around Koster's body, and to Adaar, who still lay on her back, breathing heavily, mouth twisted in a grimace of pain.
Closer now, without a sword in the way, Josephine saw why. Koster's sword had clipped the pointed tip of Adaar's ear in its doomed arc toward her horn; the wound was still bleeding.
"I don't think he understood symmetry," Adaar said, fumbling to feel at her ear. She smiled at Josephine. "Were you going to duel him?"
Josephine stared at her, uncomprehending, then remembered the sword in her hand; with a noise of disgust, she tossed it away with a clatter. She caught Adaar's hand instead, pulling it away from the wound.
Footsteps approached from behind, and Josephine tensed, but then Cassandra asked, "Are you well?"
"Fine," Adaar said. "Thanks for the rescue."
Cassandra snorted. "What will we do with this one?"
Josephine turned. Cassandra held Vilya by the shoulder. The woman stared at the ground. The other mercenary lay dead on the floor beside the hearth.
"Herah," a reedy voice said—the barkeep, shuffling toward them with the aid of a walking stick. "I mean, Your Worship—"
"Don't start with the holiness stuff, Hammond." Adaar sat up with a grunt, holding fast to Josephine's hand. "Please."
"Well." Hammond cleared his throat. "You're not going to hurt her, are you? She's been awfully stupid, but...she didn't fight."
Adaar looked at Vilya and sighed. "I don't want to. But I do want to know what's going on. What happened, Vilya?"
For a moment, Josephine was sure that Vilya would keep quiet—but then she spoke, low and fast, not looking up from the ground. "Trade's been bad. Crops didn't do well this year. Everybody says the war's coming this way, if we don't starve to death first, and when Koster came along, he said he could help us. Get the Inquisition to protect us."
"You knew he was going to lure me here," Adaar said.
"He made it sound so easy! Made it sound like you'd just pay up and be on your way. He said you wouldn't miss it. And the Inquisition wouldn't leave us vulnerable again, after that." Her voice was thick with tears. Josephine felt a pang of sympathy. Here were their desperate folk, driven to desperate things.
"Who else?" Adaar asked.
"Just Cossus and Herbert. I swear."
"They came in one night with those Carvers," Hammond said, "leading the way. No one in town's spoken to them since. They've been sleeping here." He shot a look at Vilya. "Not by my choice."
Adaar rubbed her unbloodied hand over her forehead. "Well, Vilya," she said, "you—and Cossus and Herbert, assuming they were smart enough to surrender—have two options, the way I see it. You can beg your families' forgiveness, work off your guilt here. Or, if you really want the protection of the Inquisition, you can work for it."
Vilya finally looked up. She swiped at her eyes with a fist. "Can we...can we think about it?"
"Think fast. I'm not staying long." Adaar nodded to Cassandra. "See if Bull and Dorian need help. And keep an eye on her and her friends until someone else can."
"Come," Cassandra said to Vilya, pushing at her shoulder.
"Herah," Vilya said, still tearful. Now that she'd looked up, her eyes were fixed on the blood streaking down Adaar's cheek, down her neck. "I'm—"
Adaar waved her off. "Don't say it til you mean it."
Cassandra prodded Vilya along to the door. When it opened, noise poured in: Bull in the midst of a lecture on company ethics; fire crackling beneath the occasional yelp. The door swung shut again, muffling the sound.
Adaar let out another deep, bone-weary sigh. "Sorry about the mess, Hammond."
The barkeep scoffed. "We'll set Vilya and her friends to scrubbing. The blood'll be out in no time, or we'll have them laying a new floor. I'll get you a rag for that bleeding."
"My bag—"
"They took it downstairs. I'll fetch that, too."
Hammond shuffled off behind the bar. Josephine waited until his footsteps had faded, and then she asked, quietly, "Are you all right?"
"Could have been better," Adaar said. "Could have been worse."
"That does not answer my question."
Adaar met her gaze. "I don't think I can leave this place unguarded. There are other Kosters out there." She shook her head. "And other Vilyas. I'm sorry. I know we're stretched thin."
Josephine brought her other hand to cover Adaar's and squeezed. "We will make do."
Adaar's lips quirked up on one side in a tiny, crooked smile. "You know, when you say that, no matter how impossible the task seems, I believe you. Especially after that display." Her eyes danced. "It's a pleasure to watch you work."
"Oh, that man was insufferable," Josephine said darkly. "I could have carried on for another quarter-hour and still found more ego to chip away at!"
Adaar laughed. The sound, bright and joyful, was infectious; Josephine found herself laughing, too, on the verge of hysteria, all her relief pouring out in a flood.
"That business with the little piece of paper," Adaar choked out, between gasps, "can you believe…"
"You didn't see his face," Josephine said, wiping at her eyes. "He was so sure—"
"You showed him."
"No, my dear, I think you showed him, in the end."
Adaar pulled her hand free from Josephine's grasp, but only to reach out, to sweep Josephine fully against her as their laughter died down to chuckles and hiccups. Josephine wound her arms around Adaar in return, pressing close to her welcome, living warmth, savoring it.
"You shouldn't have grabbed the daggers," Adaar admonished.
"You shouldn't have gotten caught!"
Adaar let out another chuckle. The sound rumbled pleasantly beneath Josephine's cheek. "Fine. We're even."
Adaar pulled back, just enough to look down at her. She tucked an errant strand of hair behind Josephine's ear.
"Thank you," she said softly.
Josephine's heart leapt. Gone were her old doubts; she recognized the intent in that look, the affection, and leaned a little closer—
"We can put you all up in some of the rooms, Herah," Hammond said, and they both jumped. He hoisted Adaar's pack up onto the bar counter and brandished a wet rag. "You'd better get that wound seen to."
"Right," Adaar said, and with a rueful smile at Josephine, she gently pulled away and got to her feet. She offered a hand to help Josephine up. "Getting blood everywhere."
"You ought to stay," Hammond continued. "For a few days, at least. People'll be happy to see you. You take your sweet time between visits."
"Yes, I was a little preoccupied with the giant hole in the sky for a while—"
"You been Inquisitor for ten years?" Hammond interrupted.
Adaar stared for a moment, then shook her head. "No, messere," she said, much more meekly.
"I thought not. Now, you get yourself cleaned up, and we'll have a proper homecoming." He made for the front door of the tavern. As the door swung shut, Josephine heard him barking names.
"You hear that old codger?" Adaar asked wonderingly. "I lose a piece of my ear, and he wants to have a party."
Josephine tried very hard not to burst out laughing again. She almost succeeded.

// Dragon Age Questions
Tagged by: @kaaras-adaar   Tagging: @worthyfate @kinlochfled @dirthahavcn @polyphoniie @ardaaman and anyone else who would like to!
01) Favourite game of the series?  Oof starting out with a hard question. Uhhh... I will go with Inquisition if only because out of all my canon main characters Séaghdha has really become the most important to me as far as emotional attachment goes.
02) How did you discover Dragon Age?  I am a long-time fan (?) of Bioware games and have been playing them since the beginning of time. I’ve literally played every Bioware game that exists, or at least this holds true for the time being (I am unsure if I will buy Anthem). My loyalty to the brand is not as strong as it used to be after they were bought by EA, and especially after David Gaider left the company. But yes. It actually started back with Baldur’s Gate II in 2000, which is not a Bioware game, but a game David did writing on and is still one of my favorite RPGs of all time. I followed him to Bioware and was determined to play anything he worked on. Hence, Dragon age.
03) How many times you’ve played the games?  I’ve genuinely lost count but I’ve memorized all three games, so... A lot lol
04) Favourite race to play as?  ELVES. But this isn’t necessarily a DA thing, it’s just a me thing because I am 100000% elf trash.
05) Favorited class?  Rogues, believe it or not. Mages are my second favorite, but yeah I prefer me my sneaky-sneaks.
06) Do you play through the games differently or do you make the same decisions each time?  Depends on what character I’m playing. If I’m replaying one my canon characters, then yes, I stick with their choices. But occasionally I’d replay as some random character specifically to fuck around.
07) Go-to adventuring group?  I always take my character’s love interest because I’m a weenie. But for DA:O: Zevran, Alistair, Leliana. For DAII: Fenris, Bethany/Anders (depends on the act), Aveline. For DA:I: Dorian, Solas, Bull. Needless to say, I died a lot playing Séaghdha because I’m dumb and stubborn and had a mostly mage party most of the time.
08) Which of your characters did you put the most thought into?  At this point, Séaghdha is probably the most fleshed out. Méabh, my canon Hawke, and Misae, my canon warden (who is on @exnobis for the record) are both pretty extensively developed in my own personal opinion, as I have a habit of just... getting probably too invested in my characters lol. But Séaghdha gets the most attention, without a doubt.
09) Favourite romance?  Okay so this is tough because Dorian as a character means a lot to me, he is my son and I adore him. But as much as I love him as a character, his romance was not my favorite. Sorry, son. Favorite romance is a really tough choice between Fenris and Zevran, but I think ultimately Fenris is the one who wins out. Both of their romances hit a lot of personal notes for me, but Fenris’ in particular uh... Well I cry every time, let me put it that way lmao
10) Have you read any of the comics/books?  All of the books and most of the comics.
11) If you read them, which was your favourite book?  Ehh... I honestly don’t really have one? I enjoyed them for sure, but my motivation was for the lore and less recreational lol.
12) Favourite DLCs?  For its drama, Trespasser. Overall, Mark of the Assassin. I may not like Felicia Day (sue me) but oh my god that DLC is fucking gold.
13) Things that annoy you.  So many things. But the biggest is probably the inconsistencies and ret-conning of lore and storyline. Whatever happened to the quality Bioware writing I fell in love with... where did it go....
14) Orlais or Ferelden?  Ferelden.
15) Templars or mages?  This isn’t a fair question imo. They both suffer needlessly.
16) If you have multiple characters, are they in different/parallel universes or in the same one?  Typically I default to all my canons being in the same verse. Makes my timeline consistent and easier. However my characters are all obviously adaptable so as to fit with my RP partners and a variety of different plots.
17) What did you name your pets? (mabari, summoned animals, mounts, etc)  Misae’s mabari was named Finn and Méabh’s was named Cahir. Séaghdha has named his hart Leanathe, elvhen for splendor, glory.
18) Have you installed any mods?  lmao my games are nothing but mods at this point
19) Did your Warden want to become a Grey Warden?  Not even remotely. He’s still bitter about it, quite frankly, despite taking quite well to a leadership role and life as a Bard. He’s all about finding that cure though, let me tell ya.
20) Hawke’s personality?  Blue with a hint of purple when it wasn’t completely inappropriate. Basically, Méabh had a good sense of humor but was ultimately a very compassionate person.
21) Did you make matching armour for your companions in Inquisition?  No but that’s a hilarious idea now that you mention it.
22) If your character(s) could go back in time to change one thing, what would they change?  Misae would have tried to do more to save Tamlen, Méabh would have tried to do more to save her family, and Séaghdha would have tried to do more to save... well, everyone. Thanks Solas.
23) Do you have any headcanons about your character(s) that go against canon?  I have some headcanons that alter canon a little bit (like in my personal canon Méabh gets pregnant between acts, etc), but off the top of my head that only really big thing is that Séaghdha doesn’t lose his arm. I mean it gets mutilated and he loses a lot of use/mobility, but he doesn’t actually lose the arm.
24) Who did you leave in the Fade?  Séaghdha leaves Stroud and, believe me, he’s not happy about it.
25) Favourite mount? Easily the Red Hart.

Nobody Would Want to Dance with a Magic Ox
Click link above to read on Ao3 or read below under the cut.
Relationship: Adaar/Krem
Fandom: Dragon Age Inquisition
Rating: Teen
Characters: Cremisius "Krem" Aclassi; Female Adaar; Female Inquisitor; The Iron Bull; Josephine Montilyet; Leliana; Dorian Pavus; Cullen Rutherford
Tags: fictober18; cremquisitor;
Chapter: 1/1
Series: FicTober Ficlets
Summary: Adaar had always thought nobody would ever look at her and see beauty and strength in equal measure, that nobody could ever love her as she is. She always thought nobody would ever want to dance with her, especially not more than once. Maker, she has never been more happy to be right.
FicTober prompt ( from @barbex ): “I thought you would forget
Dragon Age Inktober prompt (from Dankou): Halamshiral
The result: this hot garbage.
Adaar shifted uncomfortably in the constricting fruity outfit they made her wear. For someone used to wearing Arishok armour while twirling a staff around at lightning speed, feeling like a stuffed nug in a frilly sock was...demeaning and embarrassing.
But they meant well, her advisors. Josie had practically bounced on her toes when first she saw Adaar in the Inquisition formal attire, calling her both ‘striking’ and ‘resplendent’. Whatever the fade that means. Leliana has smirked in that creepy I-can-murder-you-in-your-sleep-but-chose-not-to-you’re-welcome way of hers, speculating that the Inquisitor would be flooded with hopeful suitors. Cullen was the only one who grumbled along with her as they tugged and frowned at their outfits.
But standing here, on the balcony of the queen of Orlais’ home or whatever (Maker, Josie will kill her if she heard those thoughts), there was no sweeping compliments, no swooning suitors, and no friendly faces. There were masks and gossip, thinly-veiled insults and condescending giggles. No one cared that she had saved Briala’s ex-girlfriend and thereby saving the whole damn country from a bloody civil war. Oh no, they’d rather keep their distance from the 7ft grey giant with swooping black horns adorned in gold, long white hair braided to her butt, and the tell-tale scars around her red lips of where she had once been silenced.
Too big, too opposing, too ugly, too grey, too non-human, too...horny.
She allowed herself a stupid little giggle at that last bit.
Truth be told, very few things made her smile these days. Before Haven fell she had been a simple woman that found happiness in simple things - good food, a good fight, good ale, and good company was enough to have her grinning ear to ear with a flush on her cheeks. Being with Bull’s Chargers gave her that long lost sense of belonging. Around that lot of misfits she felt safe to be herself and let her guard down, they never judged only teased, and never talked in circles.
And then...there was Krem.
The first time she had seen the lieutenant, swinging a gigantic warhammer like it was a turkey leg, looking like the hero from one of Varric’s fantastic romance stories - she’d felt something strange twist in her stomach. It had taken her a long time to realise that twist was her having a ginormous crush on the man. But instead of being a decent adult about it, instead she blushed like a virgin maid about to get her V card stamped by Zevran Arainai, and running to hide whenever she saw him in fear that instead of words only garbled sounds would escape her. That actually did happen, three times, where she would drink that strong shit Iron Bull said could make you damn-near breath fire and grow a tail, until she felt brave enough to approach the handsome, strapping warrior standing on his chair like he was the king of the tavern….
...not knowing he was the king of her heart.
...holy fuck, did she really just think that? That’s good shit! She needs to give Varric some tips on writing romance, seems she’s a natural. But only in theory.
Each time she opened her mouth to say something smart or witty, to compliment that way he sweeps his warhammer low to knock enemies off their feet before spinning it up to slam back down crushing the skull of a Venatori. Or maybe she would compliment his choice of haircut? How he could burp words in Qunlat? It made no difference what she ‘planned’ on saying, because all that came out was “so-Ima-fyo-imean-notwha-hnggk…” right before she turned and all but fled the Tavern to go hide under the hay in the stables. If Blackwall saw her he never said a word. Good man that, seems honest and reliable.
Because of such profoundly mature and sophisticated behaviour one might come to expect of a person of her status and office - she had started to avoid Krem, the Tavern, and the Chargers. Heck, she even avoided being in Skyhold if she could. There would barely be a ‘welcome back, Inquisitor’ before there was a ‘let’s go get something to drink’ and then of course a ‘Boss! The chargers and I haven’t seen you in a while, ain’t that right, Kerem de-la Creme?’ and she’d be ‘I NEED TO GO TO THE HISSING WASTES’ -ing out of Skyhold before anyone could say ‘Dorian your mustache is looking marvelous for someone who had just arrived back at civilisation not ten minutes ago from the Fallow Mire’.
It was the last night before the Inquisition left Skyhold for Halamshiral that she decided to cave and go wallow in self-pity at Herald’s Rest, her forehead planted on the table she claimed for herself in the corner. She typically gave off quite a ‘keep your distance I am big and scary’ aura, even without the glowing arm, but tonight she was giving off plain old ‘fuck off’ vibes. Of course ‘vibes’ never meant shit if you’re the Iron Bull.
“Bummed about the upcoming party?” he cheerfully said in that warm gravelly voice of his. “It’s not that bad, boss. We’ll go, save the empress, scare some humans, have them kiss our asses, and then get our bellies full of fancy food and wine.” At her barely scoffed response, his voice went a little softer. “What’s this really about? You got a weak stomach for Orlesian Ham? Dorian claims it tastes of despair. Scared of masks? Can’t dance in red velvet?”
“Bull, if you don’t shut up and let me drink I’ll send that redhead in the kitchens to Redcliffe and there’ll be no more ‘strawberry shortcake’ for you. And yes I meant it like that.” Adaar snorted mirthlessly. “Besides, I’m a giant grey ox mage with fade power gifted by Andraste herself and more scars than they have hair. Nobody would want to dance with me…” She had said the words softly, whispering it to the wood on the table, not intending it to fall on any ears.
Especially not the beautiful ears of a handsome Tevinter warrior who looked at her with slight confusion and concern when she finally lifted her head.
The inquisitor tugged at the tight collar, ripping a few seams so she could breathe. With not much else to do, she amused herself by watching the gardens below. The balcony was secluded enough to not draw the attention of other guests looking to step into the cool air but still wanting to bask in the festivities. And those seeking seclusion for ‘other’ reasons, well, she could see them behind various shrubbery and hedges from where she stood. She’ll commend them for their commitment, that’s for sure, for soldiering through removing so many layers of cloth and frill and belts and skirts before they get to smoosh the parts together they want to smoosh together. Maybe she should go call Cassandra...
As it were, she was so distracted that she completely missed the doors behind her open and close, as well as the steps towards her, till a not-so-subtle throat clearing had her whirl around, her long white braid whipping her in the face as she started with “I wasn’t looking at anything!” only to freeze.
“Inquisitor,” Krem greeted with a polite nod of the head. His hair neatly styled to the side (she suspected Dorian had a hand in that, literally), his uniform showing off his broad shoulders, strong arms, and soldier’s posture.
But that wasn’t what caused her breath to catch.
Stuck to his chest was a little scrap of paper with the word ‘Nobody’ written on it.
Krem smirked when he saw her stare at it. “I may have overhead you say ‘nobody’ would want to dance with you.”
Her eyes went wide as he took a step closer, his arms behind his back, all cool confidence and determination. “I… I thought you’d forgotten,” she said dumbly. But HEY at least it was words!
Krem’s smirk turned into a smile as he stopped in front of her and offered her his hand. “It would be very hard for me to forget you, my Inquisitor.” He extended one sinfully strong leg and gave a bow. “Now, would you be willing to dance with a nobody? Because nobody very much wants to dance with you.”
They couldn’t dance, neither of them, but heck if those kids didn’t care. Even as she towered over him, Adaar seemed to look up at Krem with stars in her eyes as he leads her in a swaying twirl around the balcony. They laughed and teased and danced, and her heart felt full.
Adaar had always thought nobody would ever look at her and see beauty and strength in equal measure, that nobody could ever love her as she is. She always thought nobody would ever want to dance with her, especially not more than once.
Maker, she has never been more happy to be right.

SHIPPING INFO // answer the following for your muse(s) so people know how shipping works on your blog. REPOST. don’t reblog.
WHAT’S YOUR OTP FOR YOUR MUSE?:
Nelras’s canon in-game romance is Dorian, but that doesn’t make it mean any more or less than any of his other ships.  I’m certainly not going to publicly state I prefer one ship for him over another and risk hurting feelings.
WHAT ARE YOU WILLING TO RP WHEN IT COMES TO SHIPPING?:
Anything, honestly.  I prefer to go with chemistry over pre-established stuff, although Nelras has been known to have one-night stands.  That said, I prefer to only write smut with people I’ve written with for a while, as part of a personal comfort thing.
HOW LARGE DOES THE AGE GAP HAVE TO BE TO MAKE IT UNCOMFORTABLE?:
Depends on who’s older.  Nelras is 26.  The youngest I’d be comfortable shipping him with would be 23, and the oldest would be 36.
ARE YOU SELECTIVE WHEN SHIPPING?:
I’m a bit of a ship whore, but I do ship based on chemistry.  If our characters don’t click or our writing styles just don’t mesh quite right, I won’t be able to write a romance between them.
HOW FAR DO STEAMY MOMENTS HAVE TO GO BEFORE THEY’RE CONSIDERED NS.FW?:
As soon as there’s a level of detail involving naughty bits, or any graphic conversation.  If it’s just a quick casual mention I don’t consider it requiring a read more, but if you’re describing someone’s genitals with more than one adjective, it should probably go under a cut just to be safe.
WHO ARE OTHER MUSES YOU SHIP YOUR MUSE WITH?:
I’m a ship whore, as mentioned above.  Nelras’s established ships are Kaaras ( @kaaras-adaar ), Edom ( @q825 ), and Lucio ( @breakiitdown )
Barris ( @exemplartemplar ) and Nelras have a very tentative first date going currently!
There have been hints and build-ups to romance with a number of others, but those are the only ones where it’s reached the point beyond a crush.  There has also been plenty of flirting with no indication of whether or not it will lead anywhere.  Who knows!
DOES ONE HAVE TO ASK TO SHIP WITH YOU?:
I definitely like being let know if someone is interested in a ship!  I like talking about where things can go!  But I’m also fine with shy muns who are too scared to express it for fear of being accused of “forcing a ship”.  I understand, it’s ok, I promise I don’t bite!
HOW OFTEN DO YOU LIKE TO SHIP?
It’s really based off of chemistry.  I enjoy shipping, but I also enjoy all other kinds of threads.
ARE YOU SHIP OBSESSED OR SHIP MORE-OR-LESS?:
Stealing this stolen answer: story obsessed.
ARE YOU MULTISHIP?:
Yes
WHAT IS ( ARE ) YOUR FAVORITE SHIP(S) IN YOUR CURRENT FANDOM?:
I definitely have a preference for playable characters paired with canon characters.
I would kill for Josephine with Adaars or Cadashes.  I’m an absolute sucker for it.  Dorian with male Inquisitor is always a favorite as well.
As for my rarepairs... Krem x Harding.  Josephine x Harding.  Josephine x Cassandra.
FINALLY, HOW DOES ONE SHIP WITH YOU?:
Write with me.  Have our muses interact in a way that naturally builds chemistry and interest.  Don’t just throw your muse as mine and hope it sticks, give my muse reason to develop feelings for yours.  Focus on the story we’re telling together rather than just trying to get the characters to kiss.

Shipping Info
SHIPPING INFO // Answer the following for your muse(s) so people know how shipping works on your blog. REPOST. Don’t reblog.
What’s your OTP for your Muse?: We have some ships that are more emotionally developed than others and they are all different and special. The romantic partners that Tavis has become the most emotionally close to are: @sahlintalas @kaaras-adaar @inquisitorataashi and @elfrootemporium.
What are you willing to RP when it comes to shipping?: Everything. Angst, fluff, smut... pretty much anything. Shipping with Tavis isn’t actually easy, though more casual relationships are much easier. There will probably be plenty of angst if things get more serious. What I want in a ship is just a realistic relationship, depth and character growth between the two of them.
How large does the age gap have to be to make it uncomfortable?: (Tavis is 30 during Inquisition) Oh man, that depends. Tavis absolutely will not sleep with anyone under 20 and that is being very generous. Honestly, I could see him having a hard time sleeping with anyone under 25. Despite his silliness, Tavis is very mature and experienced, he tends to see all young people as too emotionally fragile and naive. He is also averse to being with young people because he expects them to get attached quickly (from his experience) and he sees that as dangerous. So I’m going to say not under 23 generally (and that would still make him wary), absolutely no younger than 20 though. He would prefer them being closer to his age. As for people older than him, I can’t say. He doesn’t care if people are older than him and I’m not sure how old they would have to be for him to feel awkward. No older than someone old enough to be his parent, I guess? Unless they are an ancient elf or something. (We did ship with Solas once, after all, and he is like 10000000 years old probably, rofl.) I honestly don’t know, Tavis isn’t picky as long as they aren’t too young. Age matters less than how they get on together.
Are you selective when shipping?: I ship chemistry. If it happens, it happens. It’s all up to the muses.
How far do steamy moments have to go before they’re considered NSFW?: For threads, I put a nsfw tag and put it under the cut when things get more graphic, more than making out, hands wandering naughty places and whatnot. I tag VERY NSFW if there are genitals, penetration (that kind of stuff), graphic stuff in pics/gifs.
Who are other muses you ship your muse with?: The more developed ships are (as stated above): @sahlintalas @kaaras-adaar @elfrootemporium @inquisitorataashi but we love all of our ships. All different relationships and all important. There are people he is sexually involved with but a deeper ‘romance’ hasn’t really developed yet (not that it makes it any less important or any less important to him). Those are: @onthesirenscall (Isabela) @arcanistdagnarp (Dagna) @dragonagedmage
Does one have to ask to ship with you?: I don’t mind talking about the possibility, but no matter what I want Tavis will do as he does and feel as he does. So you don’t have to ask, because I will just tell you it might happen? It will happen based on what Tavis and your muse decide/ feel regardless of my feelings. I’ll also probably warn you that shipping with Tavis isn’t easy and tell you why. I just have to note this again because that I get the feeling a lot of people think shipping will be easy with Tavis, because he is so flirtatious, but it isn’t at all. So I like to make that clear to people.
How often do you like to ship?: I love shipping. Actual ‘shipping’ (romance), as opposed to more casual relationships, is hard with Tavis though. Even though he is quite open sexually, Tavis is a slow burn romantically. Don’t expect him to whisper forevers in your muses ear for a long ass time, if he ever does. That doesn’t mean he never will, it just means it's uncertain. 1) he has deeply hidden emotional baggage. 2) attachment terrifies him 3) he is polyamorous and strictly poly, so the muse would have to be ok with that long term. We will never change his sexuality. 4) His lifestyle is solitary in essence, he is constantly on the move outside of the Inquisition, which makes it hard for him to become too close to people. But I do love shipping, Tavis deserves to have love too, it is just a hard process to get there and it’s uncertain. But hey, if you like plenty of angst in shipping, you’ve come to the right place.
Are you multiship?:  Yes. All ships will be in separate verses unless otherwise discussed.
Are you ship obsessed or ship more-or-less?: No? I’m not ship obsessed, there is more to Tavis than romance and sex. I love shipping, but I love his friendships and other platonic relationships just as much. If all I did was shippy stuff, there would be no character growth. That said, even though Tavis is hard to ‘ship’ with, he is very sexual and flirtatious, so a lot of his interactions (unless they are young) tend to be... flirtatious off and on no matter what. That doesn’t necessarily mean a ship will happen, it means my muse is a flirtatious motherfucker. Also, I don’t want just smut, Tavis isn’t a sex toy. I like to explore all facets of relationships.
What is your favorite ship in your current fandom?: We haven’t really shipped with canon muses other than a couple times, Solas (the romance isn’t active anymore) and with Dagna. But I do lowkey ship Dorian and Tavis. That said, if I start an rp with Dorian, I won’t expect or assume a ship will happen (as with all other muses). All of our current ships are oc’s though. If this means in general in the fandom and not having to do with Tavis: my favorites are ZevranxWarden, MorriganxWarden, MerrilxHawke, FenrisxHawke, DorianxInquisitor and SolasxInquisitor.
Finally, how does one ship with you?: Idk? Lol Just don’t force things, let the muses do what they want to do. Other than that... I suppose I really enjoy when I’m able to go beyond fluff and smut. I love fluff and smut but I like being able to explore every area of a relationship. If we only do fluff and smut, I can tell  you right now that the relationship will never develop into something more, because I know my muse well enough to know that. He needs to get to know people for actual romance to form.

The OC question thing, all 50 answers bc I’m bored.
Some OC questions
1. Your first OC ever? Vikara Amarina Nellenryll. I’ve had characters before, but she was the first one who really stuck, who got a background and everything. She was my go-to oc for everything.  2. Do you have a personal favourite among your OCs? Alena Fanelis-Lavellan (dragon age)  3. Have you ever adopted a character or gotten a character from someone else?Nah 4. A character you rarely talk about? Seirein Xavier (adopted by Charles,) my X-Men OC. Her power is that she can make anyone do anything with her voice, so she’s resolved to be mute. She and Logan end up together.  5. If you could make only one of your OCs popular/known, who would it be?  Alena. Or idk, Belladonna Hawke. There aren’t enough Varric x Hawkes out in the world. I love both those bitches.
6. Two OCs of yours that look alike despite not being related? Most of my Hawkes look similar tbh. I try to make them different, but I’m a slut for a strong-nosed, big-lipped, tawny-skinned woman.  7. Are your OCs part of any story or stories? AHAHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Yes. Hands down. Most of my Dragon Age OCs are already in stories, or are at least mentioned because I have them set up in specific timelines. Alena is getting her own goddamn biography. Belladonna is 5 chapters into her own story. My FenHawke is 37 pages into her story. I’ve got a oneshot posted with my Hawkebela. (Da2 is my fav game tbh.) My non-DA OCs have a few stories, too. Seirein is one chapter down in hers, my Sole Survivor has more than a few oneshots down, etc.  8. Do you RP as any of your OCs? If you do, introduce one of your RP OCs here! No. I’m uncomfortable with RP since a friend destroyed it for me a long time ago. I used to be super big into it, but now it just makes me squeamish.  9. Would you ever be willing to give any of your OCs to someone else? Fight me. (Maybe Rastig. He’s a little shit.)  10. Introduce an OC with a complicated design? Idk what that means. A physical design? Most of them just get scars. I mean, Anna Hawke is deaf in one ear. Genevieve is blind. Idk. Most of them have fully fleshed out backstories so that’s about as complicated as they get.  11. Is there any OC of yours you could describe as a “sunshine”? Brilla Aeducan. Gemma Cadash. Missella Surana.  12. Name an OC that isn’t yours but who you like a lot On AO3, there’s a FenHawke series that I legit sat and read for 3 days straight. Literally didn’t even turn on my TV. (It’s here ) I really like this Hawke.  13. Do you have any troublemaker OCs?  Depends on how you define troublmaker. As in, a douche? Rastig. As in, mischievous? Kalam Adaar, Titania Shepard, Jack Ryder, Belladonna Hawke.
14. Introduce an OC with a tragic backstory HAHAHAHAAHHAAH Who doesn’t have one? Alena is the most fleshed out. She was born in Redcliffe, taken to the Circle at age 6, broke out with Anders at age 16, got separated from Anders, went to Denerim, was taken in by Cyrion and his family, was caught up in the slave trade, was sent to an abusive master in Kirkwall, killed him to escape, was caught by Cullen and taken to the Gallows, broke out of the Gallows, found Anders again, Anders was crazy, got help from Hawke (Belladonna) to get to the Sundermount Dalish clan, was taken in by them, found them all killed in year 7, was taken to live with Clan Lavellan, hated it but didn’t want to be alone so she allowed them to give her vallaslin even though she didn’t want it, Conclave, Solasmance, Solas broke up with her, finally Cullenmance.  15. Do you like to talk about your OCs with other people? Idk. Kinda? Kinda not though. I get shy really easily. I like talking about them. But with other people? Idk.  16. Which one of your OCs would be the best at biology (school subject)? Marina Shepard 17. Any OC OTPs? Among just my OCs? No. I don’t ship my girls together. But each of them is specifically designed for a specific romance.  18. Any OC crackships? Nah 19. Introduce an OC that means a lot to you (and explain why) Vikara has been with me through a lot. I’ve had her for like... 7 years now? She made it through a bad breakup, high school graduation, and all of college.  20. Do any of your OCs sing? If they sing, care to share more details (headcanon voice, what kind of songs they like etc)? Genevieve Hawke sings frequently at the Hanged Man. She’s a Mezzosoprano if she really gets going and she tends to get throaty with it, kinda like Christina Aguilera or Gaga. Marina Shepard can sing but she’s a bit shy to do it. If her friends can boost her up enough, she will for them. She’s a tenor.  21. Your most artistic OC Vikara Lavellan writes poetry. Brilla Aeducan draws/paints (she painted Leliana fireside one night.)  22. Is there any OC of yours people tend to mischaracterize? If yes, how? People think Anna Hawke hates Sebastian, but that’s not true. She’s just threatened by him because she’s a mage, and he’s very vocal about turning in her mage friends. (She used to feel the same way about Fenris, but she fell in love too fast.)  23. Introduce OC that has changed from your first idea concerning what the character would be like? Most of them.  24. If you could meet one OC of yours, who would it be and why? Genevieve Hawke. She’s a very strong, proud woman.  25. The OC that resembles you the most (same hobby, height, shared like/dislike for something etc?) Tbh, most of my OCs are just re-coded versions of myself. Except Rastig. But I guess Anna Hawke. The story I mentioned with her is focused on her weight issues and how Fenris helps her learn to love herself (and vice versa.)  26. Have you ever had to change your OC’s design or something else about them against your will? I mean, I’ve had Vikara for 7 years. Not all game platforms allow for the same character customizations.  27. Any OCs that were inspired by a certain song? Nah 28. Your most dangerous OC? Rastig Brosca and Titania Shepard.  29. Which one of your OCs would go investigate an abandoned house at night without telling anyone they’re going? Alena is actually about to fall into a well and ponder her death because she didn’t tell anyone, so, her.  30. Which one of your OCs would most likely have a secret stuffed animal collection? Asena Adaar. Josephine thinks they’re darling, and they talk about their dolls together.  31. Pick one OC of yours and explain what their tumblr blog would be like (what they reblog, layout, anything really) Marina Shepard is all about the memes, man. She’s nothin’ but jokes, nonstop, though once in a blue moon, she might reblog a picture of a nice ass (tastefully, of course.)  32. Which one of your OCs would be the most suitable horror game protagonist and why? Kalam Adaar doesn’t get scared. She just cracks jokes until she feels better.  33. Your shyest OC? Anna Hawke. 34. Do you have any twin characters? Yes! Belladonna Hawke was a twin to Garrett Hawke (who is deceased.)  35. Any sibling characters? Beyond Belladonna, no. Though, Asena Adaar and Gemma Cadash are quite close. (Multi-inquisitor AU, but only Gemma has the mark. Asena is just part of the inner circle.)  36. Do you have OC pairs where the other part belongs to someone else (siblings, lovers, friends etc)? Nah. I’m a solo-OCer 37. Introduce an OC who is not quite human I mean. I only have any human DA characters because I didn’t get a choice with Hawke. Even my queen is, in my lore, an elf because I really don’t like humans. Every single OC would be non-human if I had the choice.  38. Which one of your OCs would be the best dancer? Jack Ryder.  39. Introduce any character you want I have a Labyrinth story I started.............a longass time ago. The main character is Jacqueline (the French, not the American,) and she’s the daughter of Sarah. She is mute for most of the story because she was driving in an accident that killed her father. Sarah contacts Jareth and asks him to help fix Jack, help her overcome her guilt and trauma, so he takes her to the Labyrinth.  40. Any fond memories linked to your characters? Feel free to share! Not really. I love them all, the wee babs.  41. Has anyone drawn fanart of your OCs? If yes, maybe show a picture or two here (remember sources & permissions!) Nope.  42. Which one of your OCs would be the most interested in Greek gods? Titania Shepard. It wasn’t a huge leap for her to go from Shakespeare (where she supposes her namesake comes from) to mythology.  43. Do you have any certain type when you create your OCs? Do you tend to favour some certain traits or looks? It’s time to confess I like big noses, strong cheekbones, brilliantly colored eyes, and scars. Lots and lots of scars.  44. Something you like about your OCs in general They’re like my friends.  45. A character you no longer use? Psh. I can’t even remember. If I don’t use them, they’re lost forever.  46. Has anyone ever told you that you treat your OCs badly? Not yet 47. Has anyone ever (friendly) claimed any of your OCs as their child? IRL, nah. In games, most of my Shepards are bonded strongly to their krogan teammates, and then there’s Seirein who’s literally adopted.  48. OC who is a perfect cinnamon roll, too good for this world, too pure Brilla Aeducan 49. Which one of your OCs would most likely enjoy memes Kalam Adaar and Titania Shepard 50. Give me the good ol’ OC talk here. Talk about anything you want If you want, you can tag your ask answers with #yetanotherOCmeme so I can check them out too `v´9 I just really fking love them all. The biggest struggle is that I have so many I’m so invested in but I obviously can’t do anything with them all in one go. I have to focus on one then another then back to the one and it gets so frustrating because I have so many ideas and stories to come up with but so little time.

Shipping Info
Tumblr media
SHIPPING INFO // Answer the following for your muse(s) so people know how shipping works on your blog. REPOST. Don’t reblog.
What’s your OTP for your Muse?: Kaaras’ in game ship is The Iron Bull. However, I have a few OTP ships that I love with Kaaras on this blog. Anyone who is kind, gentle, adventurous and really gets his blood going is an excellent match for Kaaras. :) The biggest thing for Kaaras is that he has a REALLY BIG sense of adventure and likes to enjoy himself. If you make him laugh, then you’re very special to him, because he likes making people happy, but being happy in return is also something very important for him. Muses who are exciting and want to try new things are definitely ships that I love with Kaaras, because he’s a big curious adventurer at heart and ALWAYS wants to learn new things. I’ve mentioned a few blogs in one of the questions better down below!
What are you willing to RP when it comes to shipping?: Absolutely everything. I have been writing romance/smut for ten years now, so I’m not shy. What I want mostly is REALISM and a connection between the muses. So, I don’t care if they argue, if they have rough sex or gentle, or if they shit in the same room because they’ve reached a comfort zone. I want REAL relationships with Kaaras, and that means EVERYTHING. From the dull, domestic, to outright painful.
How large does the age gap have to be to make it uncomfortable?: Kaaras is really funny about dating anyone who is pretty much 4+ years younger than him. He’s only 29, but going below 25 is like a major no for him. However, he is very attracted to older men, and has a bit of a weakness to them (older men means like 8+ years older than him). Age gaps are a pretty huge trigger for me, though. So when I see muses who are 30+ dating 18 year old muses, it makes me feel very uncomfortable. Although this doesn’t apply if the younger muse is around the 30 mark.
Are you selective when shipping?: Kaaras works on chemistry and chemistry ONLY. I could say yes, and I could say no, but to be quite honest, I don’t get a lot of say when it comes to ships. Kaaras very much does his own thing, and if he likes someone, he will act upon it. His feelings can and DO change, though. I wouldn’t say it’s EASY to ship with Kaaras, but he IS easy when it comes to crushes, but whether or not that crush turns into more, only time will tell.
How far do steamy moments have to go before they’re considered NSFW?:  Anything that is over graphical. Tbh, I do not always tag nudity as NSFW, especially if it’s medical or the setting is not meant to be sexual. Some slight hints at erections and arousal, I might not tag under a cut, but once it gets to something far more graphical, I will always put under a cut and tag as NSFW. Generally, anything that has to do with genital touching will be flagged as NSFW. Heavy kissing I don’t think needs to be put under a cut or tagged as NSFW.
Who are other muses you ship your muse with?: Rofl, Kaaras, admittedly, has a lot of ships. I’ll tag some of my favourites and the more long term ones. @elfroot-and-lightning (Ezra), @aylenlavellan (Aylen), @sahlintalas (Sahlin and Herah), @tavis-of-bannorn (Tavis), @inquisitorataashi (Adahlen), @princeand-thepauper (Sandoval). There are a lot more muses and ships that he has as well, but a lot of them are still early grounds. Doesn’t mean I don’t LOVE them, but they are still early @snowball-with-knives (Anthracite) is also getting a mention because I LOVE Anthy and Kaaras’ odd relationship XD. Also @thosewhospeak (Tama) because while it’s NOT a romance, it’s a rival and I kinda LOVE their overall relationship.
Does one have to ask to ship with you?: Rofl, it’s not going to matter IF you ask or not, Kaaras is going to do what he wants. I will most likely inform you if I think they’re a ship or if I ship them, but it doesn’t MATTER if I ship them, because I don’t have control over Kaaras’ feelings. He’s going to feel whatever he wants. But if you DO ship our muses, then absolutely do tell me! I’d love to know :D
How often do you like to ship?: The amount of ships Kaaras has honestly overwhelms me at times, and there are days that I wish I could just cull the numbers. As horrible as it sounds, it can be VERY exhausting because he’s a VERY emotional muse, and dealing with ALL of those ships... is difficult. Kaaras really gives his all to his lovers, and the amount of effort I have to put into writing that is HARD some days. Some days he just wants to play with one muse and not interact with others. He’s very emotional and moody, and he can be very hard to handle and write, and honestly, some days I just wish there was less smut on my dash at times. XD Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE the ships he has, but yeah, some days I wish he had more friends than lovers. But he’s very full of love, and I wouldn’t have him any other way.
Are you multiship?:  Yes. Kaaras is monogamous. Every ship will be a single ship within its own AU unless otherwise specified.
Are you ship obsessed or ship more-or-less?: I enjoy relationships, whether they are rival, friendship, or romantic in nature. To be quite honest, I get a little tired of seeing all of the shallow ships on my dash and all of the shipping content. I feel like RP communities are OFTEN obsessed with smutting, and that isn’t how Kaaras and I work. If you’re here just to smut with me, it’s going to get very old and very quickly. I want RELATIONSHIPS. I want CHEMISTRY and I want REAL LIFE. Kaaras will react in the way he reacts, but if I start feeling like it’s just shipping you want, then both myself AND Kaaras will eventually get very bored. I love writing smut, and I enjoy shipping, but if there’s no connection and it’s just all physical, it’s not going to last. Full stop.
What is your favorite ship in your current fandom?: Male Adaar x Bull, Male Adaar x Dorian are my fave Inquisition ships. But to be quite honest, I am utterly in love with OC muses and OC muses. They have got to be my favourite. <3 Because there’s something far more unique I am finding about OC’s shipping with OC’s rather than canon muses.
Finally, how does one ship with you?: Roleplay with Kaaras. You’re not going to get a ship with him if you don’t. XD Impress him, make him laugh, make a bond with him and make him respect you. Without that, you’re not going to get anywhere, lol.
