So J only hangs around us bc he’s kinda friends w/ another boy in our group, A, who’s actually a decent person and doesn’t know about what J has said/done. anyway, J has told another girl in my group, S, that he isn’t supportive of LGBTQ+ stuff, and then proceeded to try and force her into “admitting” that she’s a lesbian, (which to my knowledge, isn’t true, S said so herself multiple times) and then J proceeds to tell S that she’s “totally” in a love triangle with me and another boy, Q, and then goes further into detail and explains why it’s “definitely” true, which made us all uncomfortable when S told us, he’s made comments before that are borderline offensive before, making “jokes” that are on the verge of being anti-semetic even though Q is jewish, making mocking side-comments when our group has discussed LGBTQ+ related stuff. now, I’m not scared that they’ll tell J about me, they’re not like and would probably get even more angry at J if anything, I’m just scared that I’ll make S uncomfortable or that J will somehow overhear/figure it out by himself and start targeting me,,, idk

he is a 96 line and a third year at snu

he’s late bc he did his military service fresh out of high school so he’s a bit older than others in his grade oops (aka if ur 95-97 line and did military service already maybe they met there)

his parents divorced when he was in like 8th grade so it was Peak Devastation and Angsty Times for tween wooseok and he decided he hates his dad

but he ADORES his mom and visits her most weekends

GUYS YOU GONNA DIE OF LAUGHTER THIS EP OMFGGG WTF JUST HAPPENED?!!! although the jealousy was a bit much man

WE START OFF WHERE WE LEFT OFF LAST WEEK - OFFICE + ANDY

we start off with the massage scene again and oooh seductive andy’s tone as he tells tang yi to relax - nice hands and totally hypnotising YOU GO ANDY

bodydumb and shao fei teaming up is hilarious AND OMG so andy bends down to the floor like we all saw last week, and that’s when both bodydumb and shao fei literally gasp like HORRIFIED and just barge into the room to grab andy up and shao fei is all “what the fuck are you doing why are you crouching down what position is this?!”

CUE SLY ANDY JUMPING UP, POUTING AND THEN HIDING BEHIND TANG YI: “ah yi, this person is so fierce i’m so scared”

shao fei: “i’m now tang yi’s bodyguard and i feel that you’re dangerous and problematic so leave right now”

bodydumb at shao fei: “hey why are you snatching my job?!”

i wanna explain more about hong ye and glasses guy dao yi but i’ll do that after i get this out in full - in any case, she wants him, he obviously likes her, but refuses to be her boyfriend because he is having a dilemma, considering that he’s watched her grow up and also protected her since she was younger in a sense, he’s finding it hard to decide whether to treat her as his charge or a woman that can be his girlfriend

OH SHIT: bodyguard goes outside, idk who the hell he is talking to but he says over the phone - “hey, it’s me, do you have time to meet?” - he’s definitely meeting a bad person, it could be hong ye but at this point it doesn’t look like it but it could be anyone’s guess

scene at tang yi’s office - he feels the tension between hong ye and dao yi, and basically she wants to make dao yi jealous and mad, so when dao yi suggests a project for tang yi to do, she steps in and goes: “i don’t think we should spend so much money on the project, can you loan me some people and i’ll do a site visit myself to check?”

and then she sees shao fei buddying up with the guy outside - LOL SHAO FEI LEGIT IS GANGSTERBAIT?!!!! EVERYONE ELSE LOVES HIM AND HE’S FRIENDLY W EVERYONE I HOPE

she sees him and she’s like: “i’ve been really good haven’t i? then i wanna go shopping, i want officer meng to guard me while i shop”

and dao yi is like GASPS: “no, miss, i’ll-”

hong ye: “it’s such a waste for a policeman like him to just stay in here doing nothing, he might as well protect me”

shao fei in the end, even though he protests a bit, but - omggggg the way shao fei listens to tang yi without much argument i love it, tang yi says that protecting hong ye is like protecting her, so shao fei smiles, nods, and goes, but not before saying to hong ye: “what is the worst that could happen (on the trip)?” - WOW FORESHADOWING, GOOD JOB SCRIPTWRITERS FINALLY ON THIS PART

i kind of liked this scene because it shows us the hong ye-shao fei sibling rivalry dynamic - challenging, but healthy challenging rather than heated, harsh barbs aimed to murder each other

okay at this point: we can CONFIRM more or less that the person on the photo isn’t glasses guy Dao Yi, because right after hong ye and shao fei leaves, tang yi is very friendly and warm towards dao yi: “if you won’t promise her, you can’t blame her for treating you like this”

dao yi: “it’s not that i won’t, it’s that i can’t”

tang yi: “if you think too much, you’ll just hurt each other”

it ends there - so GUYS we know we have the shooting tmr and hong ye’s shady scene, i really don’t think hong ye is evil at this point, but she could be doing something she thinks is in tang yi’s and the organization’s best interests, but is doing more harm than good - during the earlier scene in the ep w her and dao yi, dao yi mentions that she shouldnt be so concerned with how other ppl will view Xing Tian Meng and whether they would wanna do business with them because their company and the organization is all legal and clean now, so there’s no matter - but then hong ye replies: “that’s only when we’re FULLY legal and clean, not now” - it’s strange that she would make such a distinction, so i guess she is doing something shady but not totally evil, and my take is that when shao fei gets hurt for it, she feels guilty 

or she could be the person bodyguard is meeting?!!!

jiayi is the youngest of four children and was originally born in taipei, taiwan but later immigrated to south korea because her father was in extremely shady dealings and her mother thought the family would be safer if they left

once they move it turns out nothing would change, and her mother would end up raising the kids mainly by herself as their father was in and out of jail for drug use/dealing

whenever his dad was home he was aggressive towards his mother and would taunt/ridicule jiayi for the way she would behave/dress/speak claiming she wasn’t strong enough

their mother made her living by working three jobs and sometimes wouldn’t come home until wee hours in the morning which initially left jiayi very confused, feeling neglected, and with weird ideas of what love really was

she was good at what she did though so it paid the rent of their tiny apartment and put clothes on her childrens back and food in their stomach and that’s all she was trying to do. even back then jiayi knew that and so even with all the messiness that was their household, they were very close. her mom was probably even her best friend growing up

obviously, all of this was incredibly harmful to her development and confidence growing up and made jiayi hypersensitive of her every action and word. this resulted in jiayi not really talking a lot when she was younger and keeping entirely to herself. she didn’t do any sports and wasn’t apart of any clubs at all. just went straight from school and back home again until she finally grew old enough to work independently

once jiayi started working she started racking in some of her very own money which meant she could spend it whatever way she wanted. now, she’d always been artistically inclined, a characteristic that might have developed due to her lack of speech and friends. she loved to draw, paint, sing, rap, and had always wanted to get into music production. so when she had enough she bought herself the makings of a mini home studio and started messing around with making her own music

jiayi’s music was always a personal thing - never really meant for anybody else. but once one of her friends caught wind of her music things started to get a little crazy. encouraging her to try out to become an idol, jiayi went along with it for two reasons: she needed the money and she didn’t think she would get far and figured she had nothing to lose

from there, you can guess what basically happened. her life got flipped upside down and got farther than she could have even imagine, becoming a trainee and then debuting in a group.

jiayi is a lot more confident now, sometimes seemingly overly confident to those around her. even if on the inside she still feels like that insecure little girl she was growing up

I think they’re very VERSATILE and INTUITIVE, but for some reason they come off as OBSESSIVE and CYNICAL in the tabloids. You mind if I turn this up? daisy. 19. est. she/her.

i often get way too caught up in the story of the parents and wind up making just intros like,,, a novella, so i’m gonna do my best to skim over them and go more in-depth when i write the bio later on!!

so dahlia’s mom is inspired by neely “i’m a BIG STAR!” o’hara from ‘the valley of the dolls’ and her dad is, ofc, inspired by walter “no fun quotes or super extra™ monologues” everhart from, you guessed it, ‘the stepford wives (1975)’

just as a very brief explanation as to why “i’m a BIG STAR” wound up in the neighborhood she would, typical fall from glory, first manager whisked her away, “fell in love”, moved to a neighborhood where 95% of the women only found joy in cooking and cleaning

maybe if you HAD a fucking business...

through a series of gaslighting, emotional manipulation, and groupthink, dahlia’s father gradually got her mother to buy into all of it and have strong opinions on the best laundry detergent.

so this was a strange place to raise a child, amirite ? i mean, you got women discussing tide vs. bounty while baking cake, you got men being treated like kings – we over here in the stereotypical 1950s. 

they stanned super small neighborhoods in wales, but should they have ?

so she had a very skewed idea of what was acceptable and what wasn’t. the boys were treated extremely “boys will be boys!” like – like... more than they are when we talk abt the problem with that sentence – and the girls were all wives in training.

it was acceptable for boys and men alike to do whatever they wanted without asking the other. it was acceptable for boys and men alike to complain over anything they wanted. it was acceptable for boys and men to do all of these things that, if we heard about them today, we’d be like “jail??” or, at the very least “leave.”

it was all good and well though!! but one of the four (4) duties dahlia’s mother had was taking care of the child (the other three were cooking, cleaning, and pleasing)

you see, she was used to dahlia’s father blowing things out of proportion when it came to herself – it was normal and healthy!! but she was not used to him blowing things out of proportion on their child, aka dahlia (you see, this is what happens when i start talking about the parents too much)

the first time just warranted a brief “hey, maybe don’t.” the second time warranted a conversation that ended poorly. third warranted an empty threat of leaving that ended poorly. fourth warranted an actual threat that ended poorly. fifth and a bitch was like “ok where r we and how do we get out!!”

after finding her way out, she settled with dahlia in a rly crummy motel, but what else are u gonna do when u only have the few dollars u managed to steal from ur guy??

so dahlia’s mom phoned so many old friends and relatives. unfortunately, as a previous neely “the whole WORLD loves me!!” o’hara who just seemed to drop off the face of the earth, almost everyone was like “bitch tf no you ain’t stayin here”

the last person she phoned was her mom, aka dahlia’s grandmother, down in athens. reluctantly, a bitch was like “fine.”

so dahlia was ~13 by now. her mom found work as a maid bc she was rly good at cleaning and also had no clue how she would ever get a good acting career back (although, mind you, you know a bitch went out for some community theater plays). her grandmother was able to live off the inheritance her late husband, dahlia’s grandfather, left behind – however, she also had a work ethic that drove her to just... do whatever she deemed the right thing to do at the time.

dahlia learned how to speak greek which is great bc you know what?? i duolingo’d that bitch and that owl is a jerk who wouldn’t let me get past “ο άντρας” even tho i spelled it!! right!! i had so many ppl compare what i spelled and what the answer was and i’m still bitter!!

VERSATILE: ok so she never really does things quite the same ? alexa, play ‘can’t pin me down’ by marina (and the diamonds) dahlia angelis. musically speaking, she really loves experimenting with different sounds. overall, she is still considered indie-pop, but we had some good new-wave pop in ‘the family jewels’, we had some good electropop in ‘electra heart’, we had some good general versatility in ‘froot’ (compare the song ‘froot’ to ‘immortal’ like we were boppin then we were havin an existential crisis). does not like keeping things the same in her music. does not like being compared to other artists bc?? everyone!! is different!! generally speaking, she’s just a very?? open person?? not as in emotionally open, open book – all that, as in willing to try pretty much anything?? as long as it’s not her actual routine, if a wrench is thrown in her plans, a bitch don’t care as long as the wrench ain’t smth dumb. here for a good time, not a long time.

a lot of these kind of tie into personality tbh?? 

literally knows everything about every cleaning product ever. ask her about the pros and cons of any and she will tell you. she’ll also tell you when it was manufactured, the ceo of the company that created it at the time, what went in it to make it, etc., etc., etc. knows so much.

kind of going off of that, actually really good at cooking and baking?? she rarely does it willingly, but will make a hell of a chocolate soufflé.

Oh my what a question, I was actually talking about this not too long ago with a friend! And the conclusion ended up being that if her invisibility is a permanent mutation he can’t, but if she can turn it off at will then probably he can too! Right now we still don’t know how exactly Tooru’s quirk tho, so we can’t be sure which is the truth! (I like to think she can turn visible if she wants, but that’s just an headcanon with very little basis haha)

WHY YES ANON I think they could be the bestest of pals, I’ve actually drawn them together now and again cause I like the idea of them being friends so much - a list of some of the things Bakugou and Jirou do together:

make fun of Kaminari (Kaminari feels attacked and liked it better when Jirou was convinced she didn’t like Bakugou)

share music recs and go to concerts together (when it’s big ones they particularly care for they stand in line The Whole Day and at first it used to be sorta awkward but now being together makes the hours fly)

mutter sass and snark under their breaths to themselves in class and without meaning make the other snort or have to hide an actual laugh (they sit next to each other in class did you know that that’s my fav thing tbh)

say “god, I’m so fucking gay” and answer “mood” whenever Kirishima and Momo, like, exist or do anything equally outrageous

sit next to each other with their phones in hand in silence and at the same time look up with an intense/bored/obviously-judging-sero-come-on-look-at-them expression whenever anyone walks past them (they’re actually playing bullshit app games)

Actually I dunno man, are they possessive and jealous? At most I think they’d be insecure in the beginning of their relationship, but once they managed to make it clear that yes, you’re the one I want, no one else, just you then they would have little to no problems in that sense haha

Yeah yeah yeah yeah!!!!! Actually I’ve been thinking about this A LOT in the past couple of days and my conclusion ended up being that the key would be either for Kirishima to know Bakugou since they were really young OR for him to not attend Bakugou’s same middle school? Like, if they developed their personalities together, having someone like Kirishima around since they were kids could have made Bakugou develop differently, but if we go with the “they met in middle school” scenario then I think Kirishima would have had the same sort of...soothing? Effect on Bakugou only if Bakugou didn’t see him as a threat to his dream of being the only kid from that middle school to enter UA. Well, a scenario in which they had known each other since they were small young babies and Bakugou reached middle school going “the only one from this middle school to enter UA is gonna be me and Eijirou”, that would have been hella cute wouldn’t it hahaha growing up with a notion of us instead of just me would have changed Bakugou a lot, I’m pretty sure :D

i’m gonna focus especially on Influence bc this isn’t smth i’ve talked about in great deal but i do have a lot of thoughts so here we go.

the danes.    and not in a good way.  i’d like to give two middle fingers and two slow, painful deaths @ both of them for traumatising holland to the point he continually wanted to die ( you could consider the ads/om fight with kell a form of attempted suicide, since he first taunted kell into trying to kill him and then stopped fighting long enough to be fatally wounded ) n leaving him with severe c-ptsd.  lasting effects include intense nightmares, flashbacks, strong touch-aversion, an insecure n regularly-fluctuating sense of self-worth + identity, general self-hatred, and issues w both physical and emotional intimacy with others.  by virtue of them murdering his best only friend and then immediately trapping, torturing, and cursing him, he’s also got a whole lot of unprocessed n repressed grief ( and other emotions ) stemming from that time and after it.  it’s all the worst kinds of influence, but a lot of his canon characterisation is directly shaped by this, so a strong one nonetheless.

ros vortalis.    imo, there’s a good few things canon holland got from vor, one being his tendency to charm people into doing what he wants, smth i actually have a Long meta post in my drafts abt.  vor’s supposed to be very good with words and people, using this skill to get what he wants as much as anything else, and it’s even something you see him do w holland when they meet.  see, a decade later: holland talking rhy into taking astrid’s necklace, every single interaction w ojka.  it’s not holland’s natural persona at all, and he doesn’t use this with everyone, but he knows it will work with both of them.  rhy is outgoing and sociable, will flirt with anything, is deeply insecure, and enjoys positive attention ; ojka sees holland in an almost worshipful light, and “could he feel all of [her desires]?”…. uh-huh.  holland’s aware.  he’s making use of that.  there’s also a particular line i wanna talk about, and it’s this one: “  listen to me, holland.  of all the ways to die, only a fool chooses pride.  ”  holland’s arguing against going to red london for help, because of them leaving white to die whilst flourishing themselves.  n it’s understandable that he’s bitter about it ; but vor’s thinking as a king, and as he points it out, they’re both in that castle because they’d do anything to help the world.  whenever we see holland making decisions in canon, he’s absolutely taken this lesson to heart.  the most notable example is actively choosing to fight with kell and the others in red london to stop osaron –– essentially the same thing vor was advocating years ago, but with much more at stake this time. 

alox & talya.  these two go together because they had a very similar influence.  holland first heard the someday king legend from alox, and then from talya.  both encouraged him in dreaming of a better world, of being the one to bring the magic back ( that quote about alox letting kid holland sit on makeshift thrones and dream of better days, the stories being talya’s favourite ).  both of them had a way of making the dying, bloody world feel far away when they were there.  significantly, holland loved and trusted them both very much, and was betrayed by them in turn.  he lost the most idealistic parts of himself with them ; they were the brutal lessons that even the closest people can’t be trusted further than you can spit, and that even love isn’t enough to keep you safe.  he never stops dreaming of the magic coming back, doesn’t stop completely trusting people, but that younger self who dreamed more openly, trusted more easily, that was left behind.  ( it’s not that he would trust just anyone, he’s got a healthy wariness around everyone even as a child + teenager, but this is really when he learned that even being That Close to someone isn’t a reason to let your guard down.  if you can’t around your older brother or your lover, you can’t around anyone. ) 

edit +bonus: kell.  meeting kell really shattered one of the last idealistic parts holland had left.  he’d gone his whole life thinking the other london had to be like his, dying and cold, and to see how they really lived –– rich, thriving, in luxury –– well, that illusion is dead and gone, and all that’s left is anger.  ( which, sadly, colours his relationship w kell for a long time. ) /  @titanslayer

on alien’s discography, insoo’s raps are clean & cold & very precise

in his bio, i mentioned that tongue twisters helped him during speech therapy; he’s learned to speak long strings of sentences very fast, so

with practice, he can rap about ~16 syllables per second now

( basically zelo’s lte rap in warrior & power )

it’s the skill that people are most impressed by, but insoo wants to be known for more than just recitation ;;;;

he prob has the deepest voice in alien, but don’t quote me on that

he gets that idol rappers are looked down upon, so he’s working extra hard to make sure he’s not reduced to just a Voice or some guy who reads off lines

been working with a variety of rappers to try to secure his own Style™

and naturally, so far, it’s very melodic & lazy

but it picks up momentum rLY FAST

sometimes his mentors need to remind him to sLOW DOWN because he’s spittin bars but nobody knows what he’s even saying

a lot of the time, he likes to half-sing some of his lines (like his part in coffee shop!) but he doesn’t get to do that super often

edit: he does this in honeymoon too, what a time 2 be alive

also hh pls don’t ask him to freestyle, he cANNOT

he slaves over writing rly intricate metaphors & double entendres & sometimes accidentally makes a bad pun (or fIVE)

mostly writes about writing. success. childhood.

since you’re interested in it you probably already know a bit about nanowrimo. nano is short for national novel writing month and takes place in the month of november. its a world-wide event (and supports non-english participation) and the goal is to write 50,000 words in 30 days. the point of it is to show that anyone -- anyone, even ppl with kids and full-time jobs -- can write a novel if they have the motivation and the inspiration. ive done nanowrimo off and on since 2007 and ive written a couple of fics during that time. since fic is basically a form of fiction writing, which is nanowrimo’s focus, writing a fic is not that much different from writing original fiction like most nanowrimo participants. in fact, nanowrimo encourages it. that said this advice may feel a bit generalized but hopefully theres smth here that will serve you well on your fic-writing endeavors!

if you want to participate you should first and foremost sign up on the website. it provides participants tools to help them along the way, like word counter, pep talks by published authors, forums and groups where you can discuss issues and find solutions, and prizes for finishing. it’s 1000% worth signing up, but the website does get rly slow during november (shocker) so make sure you are uploading your word count and your fic to the website as regularly as possible. anyway, use the website to your advantage! there are groups for practically every area, and the group leaders offer meet-ups, write-ins, and even just advice and support if you’re not into meeting up with strangers lol.

when it comes to writing i think the most important thing for nano participants in general to learn is to not go back and edit your work while nano is happening. i’m someone who edits as they go so this was rly difficult for me to do, but editing during nano takes up precious time and sometimes stops the flow of writing, which defeats the purpose of nano. go back when it’s all done and then you can edit the whole thing more coherently. sometimes the pressure of making word count means what we write doesn’t always make the most sense; editing later should help smooth that over, but that also means you shouldn’t try to post your fic during this time either.

it’s also really helpful to write down some ideas before you start. i’m not sayin you need like a full outline or that you need to know exactly where your fic is going, but it’s good to have a general inkling of what you want to do for when you need it. my first time doing nano i had signed up like the day before bc i forgot abt it and i had no idea what i was doing. my story ended with like 20,000 words still left to write, and since i never sat down and thought abt what i wanted to accomplish it ended up being rly stressful. i still managed to finish but you could tell the story was disjointed lmao. so i think having a general idea of what direction you want to go with your fic is ideal, and writing down some scene ideas or dialogue that interests you or even quotes for inspiration would be beneficial. also know it’s okay to change things up if you feel you need to; you’re not confined to what you wanted to do at the beginning. write down everything you’re thinking prior to starting!

i also kept meticulous track of where i was in relation to where i needed to be. motivation and inspiration can be fickle fiends; some ppl prefer to get their 1667 words down each day like clockwork, and others fluctuate with dips and highs in their daily word counts. mark your calendar with your word count goals if it helps. use the nano website to your advantage -- there’s a lot of help there, a lot of experienced writers with advice. make playlists with different moods so you can find the right vibe you need to write. and since you’re writing fic, use your fic community as a motivational tool. your followers, writer peers, and friends are at your disposal. keep yourself accountable by blogging abt it, even if it’s just a brief progress post. know where you’re at every day.
