i just wanted to peek in one last time to say that i’m going to be dropping insoo. i was considering taking (yet another) hiatus, but it seemed disingenuous to be putting off the inevitable, so hehe.. here it is! the inevitable

i know i’ve been giving apologies ever since... i.. got here..... but i never made my way through my ims & i don’t think i ever will, so.. for the final(!!) time, i’m sorry ;; i can’t say just how much each & every one of you helped me through these past months, even if it was just dropping in to say hi or laughing at my Dumb Son-- but i’m rlly so! sososo appreciative ♡

honestly, i’ve just gotten to the point where i’m no longer comfortable publishing anything publicly anymore.... i originally thought it was a School Stress thing, but after finishing up the winter term, i think.. it’s rooted in a personal anxiety more than anything else, so maybe it’s time to take a bigger step back (or forward? or?? ahhhh????), & learn to look after myself!!

that said, i’m obviously.. going to miss everyone.... dearly, but i know you’re going to take good care of each other!! nd that’s why i lov ya ♡

on monday, you're told there should be butterflies.

on wednesday, you recover.

the oddest thing about wednesday is that you start to fall in love. 

-- you fall in love with mondays and tuesdays, every season that makes up who you are and who you have been and will be. then you fall in love with people, the way they move and speak, think and feel. -- you fall in love with the corners of song mina’s mouth when they’re pulled upward into lazy smiles, the glow of the sun when it reflects against her skin in the warmth of late afternoon. you fall in love with the steady inhale and exhale of choo jihoon’s sleeping form, long limbs curled up on the edge of your bed and dreaming peacefully, for once, just as he deserves. you fall in love with your name and the way chae hyunmi speaks it, the criticality etched in her disapproval and dismissal (the softness she hides in every word). you fall in love with bae daeyeol’s eyes and how they’re expressive in a way words can never be, how, after years and years of knowing him, they’ve never changed and never will. you fall in love with choi hyejung’s long hair and the way she tosses it over her shoulder when she laughs, the sound of it reminiscent of youth and purity and spring, its infectious nature. you fall in love with midnights spent with lee sooyeon, her tiny frame wrapped in an oversized quilt, like there’s strength in fragility, vulnerability in power, depth and complexity and brilliance. you fall in love with the solace you’ve found in ash kwon, the calm that washes over your every fear, unease, apprehension - the reassurance you’re given in seeing just his dimpled smile, in hearing just his gentle voice.

valentine’s comes and goes, like it does every year, in a flurry of pinks and reds and whites. insoo spends his holiday avidly watching reruns of romantic dramas he hasn’t kept with, fielding the occasional text from a Bitter Single or Distressed Date, and-- all in all, february the fourteenth is uneventful. -- in the days that immediately follow, sentimentality still lingers like an afterthought, in snippets of conversation regarding nights varying from delightful to disastrous. for insoo, the usual mundanity is quietly eclipsed by an impulse that hasn’t manifested itself in years. he finds himself struck by the notion that he’s spent nearly every valentine’s day more or less alone, and it doesn’t bother him as much as it piques his curiosity-- what is it like to set aside one day for a someone (or multiple someones), just to show them they’re loved?

he turns the question over and again in his head, until soon, it’s all he can think about. -- without any prequel whatsoever, the need to know and learn and experience overshadows any attempt at social eloquence, and just like that, he finds himself asking, “do you want to be my valentine?” mid-conversation, completely disregarding the fact that valentine’s has really just come and gone. he blinks owlishly at his own outburst, then backtracks. “i mean, hypothetically. if i had coupons to shake shack, and i asked you to go out with me, would you? -- .. because not-hypothetically, i do. and i will ask you, if you want to say yes.”

RIZO and Vivienne Release Dimensions Portal Song “So Far Away”

Following busy years for both RIZO and Vivienne as members of Alien and WISH respectively in 2017, the two have paired up to release a song on Dimensions Portal to begin 2018. “So Far Away”, as the track is titled, is an emotionally raw song baring both idols’ souls. Although it doesn’t have a music video accompanying it, the song combines RIZO’s rapping with Vivienne’s vocals to weave a dreamy tune so vulnerable that it stands strong on its own. The song’s lyrics were written by both RIZO and Vivienne and the music was composed by RIZO.

he steered them toward the snack aisle first, tossing three packages of whale crackers into the basket that hung on his forearm, then hesitating at a fourth. “maybe i could leave one in your studio,” he mused, quietly. -- then, as an amendment, “for emergencies. -- we could get two extra. one for me and one for you!”
