Jack took the goblet from her, the tips of his fingers brushing hers and he felt a tingle course through him at the contact. She sat down across from him and sat with her legs up and he smiled slightly. "You really like that spot in front of the fire don't you?", He said with a small chuckle.

"it's warm and cosy," she smiled "it's a good spot when it's cold or dark, I prefer the little reading nook when the sun's out" she chuckled

Jack smiled softly at her before he took a small sip of his drink, the bitterness of the wine tingling his tastebuds... it did happen to be sweetly fruity and smooth as well and he hummed in contentment. "Why am I not suprised that you love to read...," He chuckled lightly, knowing her love for books was very well known to everybody.

"of course, I love to read." She giggled "but you haven't answered me, is there a reason for your visit?"

Jack froze for a moment before he remembered the reason he had come here to begin with. He had forgotten about that completely as he had just enjoyed talking to her and watching how she lit up as she spoke. "Oh, right.... I... had something important to ask you....," His voice trailed off as he suddenly felt nervous. The courage he had summoned to get here and knock on the door seemed to have all just suddenly fled from him now that he had to actually ask her his question.

"oh? Go on me then" she giggled sipping her wine

Jack took a large gulp of his wine, feeling the warm burn as the alcohol made it's way down his throat in an attempt to drown his nerves. He had to say it, there was no turning back… "Y/n...," He began to say, his words slightly slurring slightly as a result of the wine. He had to admit it was rather strong. "There's something I want to ask you... something important." Jack took one last large sip of the wine in an attempt to gather up his courage from bottom of the glass as he placed it down. "I've... I've known you most of my life. And our... friendship has been the most important thing to me. And I've watched you grow into the most kind, caring, beautiful, and talented young lady I have ever known." He paused for a moment, closing his eyes. "And... and during that time, it's come to my attention... that my feelings towards you... are no longer those of friendship...,"

"aren't they?" She asked sitting her glass down her face read of confusion "whatever did I do to offend you so? That you don't think of me as a friend... Whatever I did jack I'm sorry" she said immediately assuming she had done wrong

Jack's eyes widened slightly. He wasn't expecting that response from her. "No... oh no no no no... you misunderstand...," Jack quickly corrected her. God she was so sweet and innocent... she always thought she had done something wrong when there was never anything wrong to begin with. "I never said that I didn't think of you as a friend, Y/n. I said that my feelings for you are no longer just... friendship...,"

"Oh ... Then what are they?"

Jack swallowed hard. This was it. No backing down now... His heart was racing faster than it every had in his life and his throat felt dry and tight... but he had to say it. "I've fallen in love with you.... and it's been killing me."

she gasped, her hands began to nervously fiddle with her fingers "I see ... Why does this hurt you? To feel that you love me? Do you not wish to love me?"

Jack quickly shook his head immediately. His brain was fuzzy from the wine... but he needed to say this right. "Of course I wish to love you. That's what is killing me... knowing that I love you... and I have no idea how you feel about me...,"

"oh you sweet thing" she cooed stroking his cheek and pulling his chin to look at her emerald eyes before her hands met his own "jack I adore you, I worship you, I have loved you for as long as I dare remember"

Jack's breath caught in his throat as he felt her gentle touch. Her hand on his cheek was soft and he felt chills down his spine as she held his chin up to look into her emerald eyes, which shined with love. As her words registered, his heart skipped a beat… "You... you love me?," He managed to choke out, his brain racing and struggling to completely process what she just said.

"of course I do" she giggled "you think I'd walk half way across town every other day to bring you cookies if I didn't?"

Jack chuckled at that. Her reasoning was rather simple... but it made complete and utter sense at the same time. He took her hand in his own and laced their fingers together. Her fingers were so small compared to his... and as he held her hand, he realized that he never wanted to let go of her again. "Why... why didn't you ever say anything?," He asked quietly.

"not really proper for a young lady to go around shouting at doctors how much she loves them" she giggled "but... I did deny all those suitors who has ever come asking to court me, sort of ... Hoping you'd figure out I was waiting for you"

Jack's heart melted at those words... he had absolutely no idea she felt that way. He felt a pang of guilt realizing she must have been feeling that way for a long time... and he was completely oblivious. The thought that all those men came courting her, and yet she denied every single one of them... he swallowed hard and took a shaky breath, his hand clutching hers tighter. "I'm... I'm an idiot," He said quietly. "You... you denied every single one of them... because of me...,"

"you very much are an idiot, but your my idiot" she smiled rubber nose on his

Jack smiled widely as he felt her nose against his. Her words were so gentle and sweet as she called him "her" idiot... the feeling of her body pressing against his even if it was just her nose against his had his body tingling... and he suddenly realized that he wanted more than just her nose to be against him. He ached to hold her in his arms and never let her go… "Please say that again," He murmured.

"humm... My big idiot" she giggled "that I waited years for to finally figure out that I loved him"

Another pang of guilt hit Jack as he was reminded that Y/n had waited years for him to figure out her feelings for him. Years of wishing and praying that he loved her like she loved him... but... he was so focused on being a successful surgeon that he never paid much attention to his own feelings. His other hand slowly reached up to gently tuck a strand of loose hair behind her ear before his fingers gently traced along her jawline and came to rest on her neck. He gently pulled her closer and smiled. "Can I... try something?,"

"you may jack" she nodded

Jack nodded, his heart beating wildly in his chest as his hand slid from her neck to the back of her head, letting her warm hair slide through his fingers as he drew her even closer. He gently but firmly put his other hand on her hip, guiding her into his lap so she was completely pressed up against him. As she sat on his lap, he wrapped his arms loosely around her and gently rested his forehead against hers.

The feeling of her soft body in his lap had Jack's head spinning to the point where he could barely think straight. Her giggling sent pleasant shivers through his body, and he had to restrain himself from just grabbing her and pulling her even closer... to feel every inch of her body against his. He let her squirm for a moment as he chuckled quietly. "Settle down now...," He murmured against her neck, letting his breath tickle her skin.

"I can't help it, something's pressing into me" she giggled as she shifted and squirmed her hips some more

Jack let out a low moan as he felt her shifting her hips in his lap... she had no idea what she was doing to him. Jack's eyes fluttered for a moment as a wave of desire shot straight through him... he wanted nothing more than to just pick her and carry her into the bedroom and keep her in there for a week... but he had to control himself. "Stop squirming and you'll feel it less...," He said through gritted teeth.

"sorry I'm just trying to get comfy" she giggled sitting still "humm... I want to say it's your belt pressing into me but you have suspenders on" she said giving the suspender on his shoulder a small playfull snap

Jack let out another moan when she snapped his suspender strap. Her hands and her movements were having a very noticeable effect on him... but he managed to keep himself under control. He gave her a little tap on her bottom in a playful "punishment." "You behave... or I'll give you a spanking over my knee," He warned, before he realized what he said and his eyes widened as the words left his mouth.

"Jack!" She protests

Jack froze for a moment. Why did he say that? He didn't know what possessed him to threaten her with a spanking! And yet... part of him liked how her little gasp and the way she said his name. He swallowed down a groan at the thought of her sitting on his knee like a naughty little girl, her skirts bunched up around her hips as his hand gently came down against her bare skin... He couldn't keep the words from tumbling out of his mouth again. "Oh don't act so virtuous," He murmured against her neck as he gently nipped at her skin with his teeth, leaving a faint mark as he whispered in her ear. "You know you deserve a spanking for all that squirming in my lap, don't you?"

"Jack. As much as I admire your enthusiasm, I think you've had a little too much wine" she said slowly moving his hands from her hips to her waist "I know you love me and I love you too and yes it does feel as if we have waited forever and now that we know I'm overjoyed and overwhelmed with possibilities. However" she explained "we have only admitted our love, we are not counting, not engaged, and as much as I am excited to finally be able to express my love... You speak of things that we would do only in marriage and that's a good while off don't you think?"

Jack was quite literally speechless. Everything she was saying was absolutely right... he was speaking and acting like as if they were married when they weren't even engaged and they had only barely confessed their love. He felt a wave of guilt wash over him as he realized how he was behaving, like a man who was absolutely out of control. His heart sank as he realized how foolish and impatient he was acting... he had clearly had a bit too much to drink and his emotions were running absolutely wild. Jack closed his eyes as he silently berated himself. What was wrong with him? He sighed deeply, feeling absolutely wretched. He wanted to be with her so badly, in every way possible... but he knew she was right. She was absolutely right, and he felt like a complete fool. He gently rested his forehead on her shoulder in shame, his words low and quiet. "You're... you're right. I'm... I'm sorry, you're absolutely right... I'm behaving like an absolute madman... I've clearly had too much to drink. I feel like an idiot...,"

"it's alright, over excitement gets the best of us all. It likely comes from waiting so long I think" she chuckled "but... We must wait a little longer save such things for the right times"

Jack chuckled weakly, his head still resting on her shoulder. The guilt of how he was acting and his excitement were still warring inside his mind, but she was absolutely right. He had to wait for "the right time". He raised his head to look into her eyes, a small, lopsided smile on his face. "And when would that be?," He asked with a slight smirk.

"... Well we need to court don't we? And then an engagement, then I suppose after a decent period of engagement we could get married. And then you can do whatever you want" she smiled

Jack chuckled softly and smiled widely. God she was so innocent and yet so mischievous. She was giving him absolutely everything he wanted but she wouldn't let him take it quite yet... and part of his mind was absolutely feral with desire at the thought of doing anything he wanted. Part of his mind wanted to take her right then and there... but he didn't want to scare her. "Anything I want?," He murmured with a smirk.

"once we are married, our marriage bed will be open for anything my husband desires. After he deals with my Maidenhead of course"

Jack was not expecting her answer, and his brain short-circuited for a moment upon hearing her words. His face suddenly felt absolutely hot. The thought of her, completely nude in the bed of their shared house... completely opening herself up to him as he explored every inch of her body... god his heart was practically racing in his chest. And then he suddenly realized what she meant by "her Maidenhead"... He closed his eyes to try and control himself. "M-Maidenhead?," He echoed her words. Her choice of words had him completely flustered. The thought of taking her for the first time, her body completely soft and untouched as he carefully took her... it made his body ache like never before. It was taking every single ounce of his self-control to keep himself from throwing her down on the couch and taking her right then and there... but he had to restrain himself. He forced himself to open his eyes and lock them with her gaze. "You're still... you're still a... a virgin?," He whispered.

"I am a proper young lady jack, and I've turned down ever suitors who's ever asked of course I am"

Jack was absolutely floored once again by her response. His guilt for acting so utterly foolish and feral melted away and he was completely filled with love and admiration for her. Once again he was in awe of just how much she had waited for the possibility of being with him... how she denied every single suitor simply because she wanted only him. He smiled softly at her before nodding. "You are... without a doubt... the most proper and patient person... that I have ever met," He murmured quietly.

"well, I had a very good thing I was waiting for" she smiled nuzzling her nose into his neck

Jack let out a soft sigh at her nuzzling her nose into his neck. He wrapped his arms tighter around her, holding her close to him as he savored the feel of her body against his. As her words echoed in his mind, he smiled. She stayed pure and patient simply because she had been waiting for him... he felt another pang of guilt as he remembered how he had been behaving like an animal just a few moments ago. "Promise me one thing?," He murmured, his hands idly stroking her waist.

"yes jack?"

Jack was quiet for a moment as he gathered his words. He tilted his head slightly so his breath was against her ear and then quietly spoke. "Promise me that... even when I'm behaving like... like a madman... the way I was just a few moments ago... you'll keep me in check... keep me from acting like an absolutely mindless madman who will do anything to have you...," He whispered before gently nipping her earlobe.

"I promise, I shall do my best to." She nodded "the best things are worth waiting for wouldn't you agree? Would you rather toss me down on the sofa and make a mess of me just because of your urges or... To wait until our wedding night where you can carry me to our bed and ravish me to your hearts content"

As she spoke, Jack's brain was filled with the image of her spread out on the sofa beneath him, her skirt hitched up over her hips. His mind then flashed forward to the image of her in their shared bed, completely nude as he worshipped every inch of her body… Jack almost moaned but he stopped himself. He took a shaky breath before speaking, trying to keep his voice steady as he spoke. "You... you're absolutely right...," He whispered. "Waiting is absolutely worth it...,"

"I'm glad you agree" she nodded "but maybe soon a gentleman might come and ask to court me?" She cooed

The thought of a "gentleman" asking to court Y/n literally made Jack's blood boil. The thought of some "gentleman" coming in and asking to court his Y/n... the thought of her spending time with another man that wasn't him... He immediately shook his head and wrapped his arms tighter around her. "I'm not letting any other blokes try to court you... you're mine... mine...," He practically growled.

"I meant you! You idiot!" She chuckled

Jack immediately froze and realization settled over him like a heavy storm cloud. Of course... of course she meant him. She didn't want to be courted by some other bloke... she wanted to be courted by him. He suddenly felt completely foolish and an idiot and he was absolutely blushing. Jack buried his face in her shoulder, his face red hot with embarrassment. "Oh good lord, I'm a bloody idiot....," He mumbled against her shoulder.

"aww my sweet idiot" she cooed storking his hair

Jack smiled faintly against her shoulder at her words and her actions. Her words, as always, melted his heart and her hand stroking through his hair always made him shiver. As he spoke against her, his voice was quiet and low. "You can... you can call me an idiot all you want as long as you keep stroking my hair like that,"

"I know what will cheer you up, she giggled "would you like a little present? That you have to keep a secret?" She whispered

Jack lifted his head up off her shoulder, a curious look on his face. A present? He raised his eyebrow at her question. A secret present? What on earth would she give him that required a secret? "A secret present?," He echoed her words. He was suddenly very curious. He smiled and nodded.

"Yeah, I'd love a secret present...," she smiled and shut her eyes giving his cheek a tiny peck before she pulled back and looked up at him with her big emerald eyes

Jack chuckled quietly as she gave his cheek a soft little kiss. Looking down at her, he suddenly felt that wave of guilt wash over him again as he remembered how he practically lunged at her and threatened to give her a spanking... He suddenly felt very grateful that she had been so patient with him. Instead and gently caressing her waist,

"did you like your present?"

Jack was about to respond when he suddenly realized that the soft little kiss on the cheek was the present. He was actually touched beyond words that such a small little kiss was her "present" to him. He smiled softly before nodding. "I loved it...," He murmured before leaning down to press a gentle kiss against her forehead. He couldn’t help himself and he wrapped his arms around her waist, drawing her close to him and holding her against him.

she blushed hard at the kiss nuzzling onto his waistcoat "did I do okay? I've never kissed anyone before"

Jack chuckled as she blushed and nuzzled his waistcoat. She did "okay"? She did absolutely fantastic. And the fact that she'd never kissed anyone before made it even better. He felt a little guilty that he had plenty of experience and she had none... he suddenly decided to tease her a little bit. "Oh yes, sweetheart," He teased her slightly, "You more than did okay..."

"I did?"

Jack nodded as he smiled even wider at the surprised look on her face. It was adorable how shocked she was simply because he told her she did a good job at kissing him... which only made him tease her even more. "Oh yes, you did absolutely fantastic... you didn't even stick your tongue in my mouth or anything," He teased her as he chuckled quietly.

"... Oh... Was I suppose to?" She asked

Jack chuckled even harder. She was absolutely clueless and absolutely adorable. He would have to teach her all manner of things, and his heart swelled at the thought... but that could wait. "No, no... you weren't supposed to, sweetheart. It was a tease," He said with a quiet chuckle. He leaned his forehead against hers, gently and playfully bumping her forehead with his. "A tease. I wanted to get you all riled up,"

"oh. Sorry" she giggled

Jack chuckled again at her response. God she was cute to tease. She was so damn innocent... a complete contrast to his own behavior from a few minutes ago. He was suddenly hit with yet another pang of guilt as he remembered the absolutely feral way he had spoken and the way he had practically threatened her… He pushed the guilt aside as he pressed a gentle kiss against her forehead. He smiled and spoke quietly, hoping to get her to relax more. "You don't have to apologize, sweetheart,"

"ummm" she nodded shifting a bit rubbing her cheek slowly against his waistcoat her eyes fluttering closed as she clearly got so cosy in his arms she began to get sleepy confirmed as her jaw falls and she lets out a long yawn

Jack smiled and chuckled quietly as she started rubbing her cheek against his waistcoat, her eyes closing slowly as her jaw fell open with a yawn. She was like a sleepy kitten... she was sleepy and comfy and absolutely adorable in his arms. Her sleepy actions and the way she was rubbing her cheek against his waistcoat stirred his heart and he instinctively wrapped his arms tighter around her, holding her against his chest as he chuckled quietly again. "You're a sleepy little thing, aren't you?,"

"mhm" she nodded

Jack chuckled again. Her sleepy nodding only made the realization that she was sleepy and absolutely adorable even more prominent. As she nodded, he smiled and nuzzled his head against hers, his hands gently caressing her waist. She was so damn cute when she was sleepy... he wanted nothing more than to pick her up and carry her up to his bedroom and tuck her into his bed so she could fall asleep in his arms… "A little sleepy kitten...,"

she smiled widely at the name "ummm your kitten" she cooed

Jack smiled widely at how she immediately agreed to the name. She was his. She was his Kitten. He chuckled quietly before gently lifting one of his hands to gently pat her head like he would do to an actual kitten. "Yes, you are. My little Kitten," He cooed back at her. He smiled even wider at the thought of her belonging to him... belonging in his arms...

she smiled happily moving herself slightly so she sat on his left thigh, her head still on his chest and her feet coming up to lay against his right knee bundling herself completely up in his arms like she was reading for a nap right there on his lap

Jack chuckled quietly as she moved and got comfortable in his arms. She was so small and slender that she barely took up any room on his lap. As she sat, she nuzzled her head into his chest and bundled herself up all small like a little kitten, obviously getting herself comfy and ready for a nap. It was absolutely adorable... and once again it stirred his heart. He instinctively wrapped his arms around her, one around her waist and the other around her shoulders, holding her snugly against his chest and effectively wrapping her up in his arms completely.

The Handmaid's Tale Rewatch: 1x02

These rewatch posts will all be spoilery, so if you haven't seen the show and want to watch it unspoiled, read no further.

This episode has so much good stuff packed into it. I always forget that this epic ending with Nick and June walking down the driveway in slow mo together is just from 1x02! There's so much intrigue in this episode too, with not really knowing who can be trusted, with the Ofglen/Emily stuff, and with Nick being on edge about everything happening with June.

In both Osblaine focused moments, Nick is experiencing what's happening in a completely different way from how June is perceiving it, and I love that. It's almost like they are literally in two completely different scenes, acting them out simultaneously together.

For example, when June returns from her walk with Ofglen and accidentally shows too much leg, then flashes Nick a little more, she's being fun and flirty. Meanwhile, Nick is panicking about both the danger of June interacting too much with her partner, Ofglen, and about having to tell June that Fred wants to see her alone in his office that night, which is both forbidden by Gilead law and ominous. And in the aforementioned slow mo walk down the driveway, June has just spent the evening playing Scrabble with Fred, so she's imagining Nick in that flirty way again, but Nick doesn't know she only played Scrabble. He's trying to gauge if she's okay, if Fred hurt her, and he is probably losing his mind about what might have happened in that room - not due to "jealousy," but because he's been really worried about her.

This vibe happens again at the beginning of episode 1x05 when June is sitting at the kitchen table licking her oatmeal spoon while thirsting after Nick. Meanwhile, he's most likely feeling sick, because Serena has just issued the order (framed as a request) for him to sleep with June, and he is probably desperate to get June alone to talk to her about it.

It's just very, very artfully done, and it makes rewatching these episodes such a layered, complex experience.

We start out with Tim being perplexed by the new coffee machine. Asking what was wrong with the old one? Being her grumpy old man about it. Nolan and Lucy start listing off reasons. Like led levels and Lucy mentions a mice infestation. Eww lol The growth in this scene is pretty cute though. It's how he easily steps aside to let her do it for him. No fight in him about it whatsoever. Just lets wifey do her thing.

How far we’ve come. She shows him how to do it and he is impressed with her. What else is new? heh But he's extra impressed cause she is girl now hehe Lucy tells him she learned from a clip talk tutorial on how to do it. John asks what they got up to last night? Tim on the instant defensive. Says ‘Nothing.’ way too quickly.

My god Timothy it’s a good thing it’s Nolan and not Nyla. Captain clueless over here doesn’t suspect a thing thankfully. Lucy of course is far more prepared than her boyfriend is. Because well it’s Lucy. I adore her being so smooth about it. Doesn't miss a beat. Hands her man his coffee as she easily delivers her cover story. Honestly if anyone was going to blow their cover it was Tim LOL

John dips out and thanks Lucy for the bar and the recommendation. Minute he’s gone Lucy gives him such crap for his terrible answer. Saying he had all morning to come up with a cover story and that was it? Tim defending himself saying Nolan bought it. Yeah cause it’s Nolan... Had it been anyone else in their orbit they would’ve been caught. Lucy is judging him so hard for this. I love it so much. Such a wifey moment right here.

Tim challenges her and asks what Nolan has follow up questions? Lucy confidently telling him she read the catalog cover to cover. Of course she did. I expect nothing less tbh. Neither should you Tim ha His reaction is the best. Like if you weren’t my girlfriend be calling you a nerd right now. But we all know he loves his nerd and her brain. Her intelligence/intense drive is one of the reasons he fell for her. God they cute.

Tim mentions she has citizens academy today. Lucy says yes and asks for any tips? Per usual he warns her about screenwriters haha That she shouldn't give out her card or she will be up to her eye balls in scripts. Lucy then segues into their plans for tonight. Flirty af as she does. Asking what he’s doing tonight? So much behind her question. Looking so very excited to ask him it. Radiating happiness as she does.

They could not be more flirty if they tried in this scene and I love it. I remember squeeing because this was the place we we're in now. Tim flirting right back ‘Nothing. I hope.’ *heart clutch* Lucy shooting tons of heart eyes his way. Letting him know that ‘Nothing sounds perfect.' Who would've thought the word 'Nothing.' could sound so romantic? Yet these two did it. The smirk on his face as she walks away from him is everything.

Oh my lord this man is a goner for her. Never seen this man smile more this entire series than he has since he started dating Lucy. They are giving off teenagers sneaking around and in love vibe here. Their secret dating era is just a primo as their longing/pining one. I love this season so much. Could they be anymore adorable flirting in the break room? Talking about cover stories and doing ‘Nothing.’ Gah I love it so much. It's all so new and exciting and it's coming off them in waves. I'm soaking it up like a sponge of shippy happiness.

This next portion is adorable. I love Aaron literally running to Lucy to tell her about Tim coaching little league. He is so excited to share this with her haha I am a fan of trio not gonna lie. Tim rolling his eyes when she says ‘Nolan.’ I mean it is a very John Nolan thing to do let’s be honest… Aaron calling him ‘Sergeant Friendly’ and not being pummeled by Tim just shows what a good place he’s in with Lucy.

Lucy saying ‘Can she watch?’ doing things to me. Sounded way flirtier than I’m sure she meant it to. Or maybe she did mean it that way heh Like girl we know you wanna watch him for quite a few reasons...Also you know she’s proud of him for being the good uncle and stepping up. The heart eyes are infinite at the end from her. She is proud of him for doing this. If it was possible he became even more attractive to her because of this.

Lucy shows up to practice and see’s Tim in coach mode. She is looking so very amused. Especially with how soft he is being. Watching her boyfriend who she knows can be a hard ass be soft af with these kids. Also if they think Genny doesn’t know they’re out of their damn minds. It’s all over her face as they banter with each other. Platonic co-workers don’t show up to their co worker's nephews practice and 'bicker'.

Married vibes x 1000 here and Genny is picking up what they’re throwing down. Tim is so excited to see her when she shows up. No way his sister doesn’t see a shift in his demeanor. Lucy couldn’t have a bigger smile on her face as she teases him. Tim being the exasperated husband per usual. Saying they’re just kids it's supposed to be fun. Her teasing is extra smitten like I have to say. Showing all your cards today you two. Right in front of Genny LOL

The sister in law bonding continues as Tim walks away. Which I absolutely adore btw. Lucy asking 'This is weird right?' Genny regaling her of how their dad taught his team as a kid. Tim having literal scars from it. It’s then it all comes together for Lucy. Tying back to that moment in 4x09. ‘You’re nothing like him.’ Lucy immediately getting why he’s acting this way.

He will do anything not to be like his father. I could not relate to that more if I tried. I see you Tim and I so understand. Lucy instantly softens and says this back to Genny. Knowing exactly what’s bringing on this soft streak of his. We watch as the kids continue to suck lol. Tim doing a thumbs up and I’m dying of laughter. Lucy sees why he’s doing this but says he is also over correcting in this approach.

This scene is a look into them as parents and it's making me very happy. The control freak in Lucy can’t stand back any longer. I love this part so much. She takes control and provides the kids with some knowledge and structure. Also like to call this the scene where Tim falls even more in love with her. He couldn’t be more proud as she takes control. Not only that but is knowledgeable about the game he loves. Win win.

He is looking at her like yep that’s the future mother of my kids. I love her walking up and the kids just follow. Her leadership is on fire right now. Tim asks her what she’s doing? Lucy saying yeah they can have fun but they also need structure. She’s not wrong… Totally going to be them as parents. Lucy being the stricter one with structure. Where Tim will be the softie wanting their kids just to have fun.

So cute how bemused Tim looks when she calls herself his ‘friend.’ Knowing they are far more than that now. Gah love Eric and his expressions. I’m a sucker for them. Lucy breaks down what they’re going to be doing. Not only that but the confidence she exudes while doing that has Tim beaming at her. Like look at his girl taking control and being knowledgeable about baseball. Seriously it's like he is falling even deeper in love with her based on this alone. How could he not?

Don’t tell me that man wasn’t turned on by this whole display either. Heart eyes galore but a little hot under the collar as well. You know he loves when she’s assertive. It’s a huge turn on for him. He’s basically scoping her out in front of those kids haha It’s this mixture of pride and being so immensely attracted to her. The man is in awe of this woman standing next to him.

The way he looks at her I’m just a damn puddle. If that man looked at me that way I would melt. Instantly. Lucy does melt a little when she catches his eye in the first gif above. You can see her crack a smile when their eyes connect. It's so cute. Once again I ask have we ever seen this man this damn happy before? No. Not till Lucy. I love him telling them when she’s done. ‘You heard her.’ Like you heard my wife get going. haha

The teasing is the cutest. It’s like we’re getting on screen fanfic levels of fluff in this episode. I'm so here for it. Just beaming heart eyes at each before he teases her with the ball. Her ‘Oh.’ When he takes the ball out of her reach. I cannot. I’m dying with the how adorable this whole thing is. My god they’re basically screaming their relationship to Genny in this moment.

I must also note my god Tim looks good. Doing what he does best. Takes a simple outfit like shirt and ball cap makes it sinfully delicious. Sweet lord he looks SOOOO good in outfit. Mmmm break me off a piece. My fav color too so that definitely adds to it for me. *fans self*

We catch up with them post practice. Genny comments they should co-coach together. They both make little jokes about it basically flirting in front of her. Do they see themselves and their looks? No? Ok... Genny redirecting their attention to how well they work together. Tim stumbling over his words instantly. Thinking they're being caught.

Lucy swoops in to save his ass like she did with Nolan ha Now her reply is shaky as well but better than Tim’s LOL They’re so bad at hiding this it’s hilarious. Tim following up with a ‘Mmhmm….’ As transparent as glass you two. A blind man could see how in love you are. Sweet lord.

Just being idiots in love in front of his sister ain’t no thing….Fairly certain Genny knows but is just testing the waters with her comments. No way she doesn’t see a difference in her own brother. Sure she sensed something in 4x08/4x09. This entire interaction only heightened it. Tim being the least subtle person on the planet in this moment. I love him so much. He sure is trying. lol

Lucy gets a call from the shelter so she steps away. Her domestic she got in is causing problems. She goes back to Tim and lets him know something going on with it. He is the worried boyfriend and asks if she wants him to come with? Which I adore. He know she can handle herself but wants to offer it anyways.

Just wanting to be near her at all times right now which is adorable. Also that instinct inside him to want accompany her incase she needs him. Being the supportive lovely boyfriend he is. Lucy declines and he respects her wanting to handle it on her own. Because he knows she can. Gah I love them. It’s the little things.

We rejoin them at the baseball game and I’m dying how cute they are. Lucy is losing her mind over the game and it's hysterical to watch unfold. Tim tells her to be encouraging haha How far we’ve come from Grey telling Tim to do as such back in 4x02. Love seeing that translate into this. Lucy tries to correct herself but doesn't convince Tim very well on it. His reply of 'We're gonna work on that...' I'm rollin. This is so adorable.

Lucy’s competitive side coming out and he has to have her take down just a notch. LOL The biggest trip is Tim being the kind encouraging one where Lucy is being the more competitive intense one ha. The dynamic shift here is unreal. I just love how involved she gets into this. This is something he loves and she is right there with him on it. I just love that he now has someone to do this stuff with. Happily too.

Not only that but Lucy is very into it at this point. I adore him leaning in to hear her. Tim has to calm her down though. haha I love her telling him she’s excited and he says ‘I know.’ Just letting Lucy be herself 100 percent. He loves her for who she is and vice versa and I'm a puddle. I am also excited Lucy has someone she can be herself fully around. Each found their person and it shows.

Lucy is losing her mind over this game and he gets it. Gah I love them so much everyone. This was such a cute mini moment. He is loving her competitive energy but is trying to tamp it down a little as well LOL Just a husband trying to calm down his overly competitive wife. It’s so cute I’m dying.

The cuteness continues on as they try and hype up one of the kids. I love them cheering Blake on together. Serious married baseball parents vibes. Just being proud parents clapping together. Wearing matching outfits having the same cute energy. This is them as parent's I am convinced. We are looking into the future people.

I also don't hate seeing Tim's biceps in action in these shots Mmm. Yum. I saw someone make a comment that they felt Dad Eric vibes in this scene. I can see it. The way he posts like a proud papa about his kids this is totally in line with that. It's pretty adorable to watch.

The high five turning into a hand hold is adorable and subtle af guys. I did see a BTS post awhile back on here about this. Eric said he and Melissa had a bet. Something about who would have that piece of paper in their end by end of the ep. Something like that. So that’s all I see now when I see the high five and hand hold. LOL Such goobers and I love them for it.

Either way they are disgustingly cute to end this episode. Lucy being the overly competitive mom. Tim has to keep her from scaring the kids is gold. This episode was tons of cuteness and flirty times. Was the perfect episode to follow 5x10 and pre-cursor to 5x12. They got to just be them and have time outside the station together. Just to be a couple and hang out. I loved it sfm.

I will forever adore how Lucy handled that whole Domestic solo. I made a post after this ep premiered about how proud I was of her. How deeply she has grown as a cop and a person. How she doesn't let that abusive asshat rattle her cage in the least. The way she flashes her badge at him and says they're not done talking yet when he is trying to pull her from Lucy. Hot damn. My girl crush is back LMAO

Not only that but take his ass down later. Solo. Has the matter in hand by the time the cavalry arrives. How far she’s come from that moment in the sewers with Nyla back in S2. How proud Harper would be of her. She already is with her UC work but she commands this entire situation. From Start to finish. Takes down a guy twice her size by herself. Just so proud of her growth. The confident BAMF she’s come gah I love it sfm.

Don't usually do gifs in side notes but there were some good side note gifs. LOL Eric at it again with expressions and I'm laughing so hard. If you wanted to see what Tim thinks of Nolan in a moment it's that expression above. Lucy calling John a bad ass and Tim isn't so sure he agrees with her LMFAO. I'm with you babe idk I do either...

The sole purpose of this gif is just to drool and gawk at how damn good Tim looks in the field in this scene. I could care less about the SL LOL It's the tight red shirt, the jeans with his cuffs in the back, the vest with his badge showing, those delicious fit biceps of his, that shot of his forearm as he opens the door and the way he climbs into that trailer flexing said sexy biceps phew lord. Field Tim does so many things to me. How Lucy waited as long as she did to have that man Idk LOL Imma go get some ice water....

Jottings: Season 7, episode 7. If my Latin serves me, that must mean star traveler

Finally made it. Ticked that box. Doubled Cape Fear. I deserve an ice cream, I suppose.

To be honest, I was expecting way worse. And it ends much better than it started, despite SS moaning like a banshee, despite the chopped editing, despite that finger-in-mouth failed transplant (I shall not thank thee, Vanessa Woman) and despite an almost unreadable storyline for us, show-onlies.

A few words on this season's Lallybroch set. I know the Eighties were dubiously fond of shrieking orange shades, diarrheic golden browns and horribly impractical furniture, of course. But am I the only one that feels modern-day Lallybroch is tacky and kitschy AF, as compared to the wonderful, really perfect J&C& the Murrays' timeline? I also find it disturbingly confusing, a failed hybrid between a Texas ranch and a Brittany gentilhommière. To bear the shock, my gaze needs the active help of details with a story and a destiny, such as the Jacobite 'Nemo me impune lacessit' saltire I've noticed ever since Mrs. Graham was reading Claire's teacup, in season 1 - now almost an afterthought. Therefore, the overall result feels like J&C's shrine has been colonized by anachronistic hipsters, not to mention that horrible caravan. There is a complete lack of coziness to a space that did not have the time to become a real home. That only makes things worse when #Broger try their best at mimicking a functional, credible marriage, sex included.

Let's be done already with the Phil Collins moment. And go tell it on the mountain that, despite the multiple warnings received recently, my reaction somehow managed to surprise myself. Reader, I HOWLED, which is beyond redemption and potentially much more cruel than a heavy disappointment. The hydraulics were shaky. The afghan was mustard. She was indescribable and he was elsewhere. I shall only add that my brain refused the connection with In the Air Tonight and went instead for I Can't Dance. If there is any truth in that old symmetry between dancing, driving and canoodling - go figure. Enough said.

The two people who totally slayed this episode were Buck Mackenzie and Vandervaart - I know, indulge me, I am a poor woman of feeble mind. I do not intend to insist on young William, simply because I don't think it's savvy to shamelessly fangirl two days in a row. He shines in that very difficult battle scene, and yes, it reminded me of Culloden J sans the kamikaze touch. And yes, by the end of Saratoga 1.0, William is easily ten years older: the whole world's burden weighs on his shoulders and there is a taste of ashes to that Pyrrhic victory.

Spoiler: [looking at Jemmy's toy plane] Of all the things I have seen... have you been inside one? (...) My Jeremiah would love this. Buck is phenomenal. He is versatile enough to seamlessly transition from a hungry animal to the 18th century lawyer to the unwanted, macho cousin-ancestor to the father who misses his children, all of this in less than an hour. And even if I shall never forgive Herself for not bringing You-Know-Who through the stones, this could be as good as it gets, in terms of a second-best narrative solution. Still, unfair, Herself. Unfair to bits.

Spare the cosmic booing in the air these days, the J&C/S&C PDA issue has also been debated at length, in quite tired terms, to be honest. What I did see was a couple sure of itself and completely at ease with one another. And if you think S&C were nowhere to be found, think again about C's chuckle just after J cheekily tells her she needs spectacles, with a very 21st century flirty-coffee-in-town attitude that is not J.

I believe the next and last episode is on August 11th. That should be the one with the blue light mojo, right? Right.

I can't wait.

Bitter's Hellraiser Movie Review

Okay so, over this past weekend I watched every* single Hellraiser movie. There are 11 in total, 10 from the original franchise and 1 modern "reboot". I watched the very first one and Pinhead immediately became my newest hyper-fixation. I'm a freak weirdo into freak weirdo shit because my brain is a little funky. I will be posting my complete thoughts (+ analysis) under the cut. Short end of it: I loved it. It's a classic. Watch the first one at the very least. I think the reboot was really worth watching. You must have some whimsy to enjoy the rest. 6 + 7 are watchable but honestly the average viewer would not like any of the other movies. Do not watch Revelations. I love some really TRASH media, so you know that is truly a shit movie. Spoilers!

Okay. Now that the normies are gone, here we go.

I have said it once and I shall say it again, Pinhead is a psychological horror villain in a slasher movie world. I am aware of the books Hellraiser is based on, and also the comic books. Best believe I WILL be reading those as soon as I can get my grubby little fingers on them. Anyway here's my review:

Hellraiser: I love 80's horror aesthetics. I love anything with practical effects. But most importantly, I love the whole idea of Pinhead and the cenobites. I thought it was a very fun horror movie. The no skin makeup really weirded me out, not in a bad way but in a probably unintended way. I really fell in love with Pinhead. "The box! You opened it, we came." I love that Pinhead was ready too make a deal with Kirsty. Seemed flirty to me idk. (There is something about media about a sadomasochist wanting you that makes my brain go bur.) I feel like up until the point where the Cenobites appeared, this was going to be a slasher movie. Once you see that they can be reasoned with in some way? They hit that very yummy to me psychological horror field. I think that was the point where I needed to see more of him. My only complaint about the movie is that Pinhead wasn't in more of it. If you like Hannibal (tv), you'd like Kirsty/Pinhead and vice versa. 5/5 stars. Also Frank saying come to Daddy made me laugh so incredibly hard. Will re-watch this.

Hellraiser ii: Hellbound. This was a really good sequel. It picks up RIGHT where the previous one leaves off which I thought was nice. I'm so glad that they stuck a bit to the very obvious psychological horror route with this movie, letting Tiffany go free due to her catatonic state. "It is not hands that call us. It is desire." The cenobites aren't completely evil in that regard, and I think that is what truly makes for an interesting antagonist whereas Frank and Julia are kinda just shitty people. I REALLY WISH that they continued more on that route with the rest of the movies. I feel like they completely disregard that aspect of the Cenobites later which just makes the deaths boring after a while. But again I'm calling it a 5/5 stars from me. Will re-watch this. There's a moment with this weirdly wet baby doll on screen with sewn together lips? Seeing that sent me to a new dimension. Pinhead wants Kirsty soooooo bad. "We have eternity to know your flesh." Down BAD.

Hellraiser iii: Hell On Earth. I ship Terri and Joey. The scene in Joey's apartment??? Lesbian alert. Loved that. The weird baby returned but this time not wet, but dangling in a circle of barbed wire with a blindfold on. Fucking amazing. Who's idea was that. Who NEEDED that to be featured so desperately. Also I fucking love that Hell was like encased in this weird af art piece thing. I love that we got some Elliot in this movie! I think merging the two fully solidified that Pinhead isn't all beast. I thought it was fun watch. 5/5 also. I love this original trilogy as a trilogy. "I AM THE WAY." I loved the church scene.

Hellraiser 6: Hellseeker. I watched the movies out of order. This one is the most worth watching of the follow up movies just for continuity. But I thought it was very boring. The set up for this movie is more about taking you through someone else's specific hell and not just the act of being brought to it. I love that we get Kirsty back. Pinhead WILL get his girl. "You opened the door long ago and it will not be closed until I get what I came for. It was a nice closeout to her story, a nice little epilogue. I MAY re watch it, just for Pinhead, but probably not. 3/5. "Welcome to the worst nightmare of all. Reality." He was SO real for that omg. I love this franchise because a lot of it lets the female protagonists get revenge and I loooveeeee when women are vengeful.

Hellraiser 4: Bloodline. They are in space? And there's some lore of the box that is in the past and not in space? But this is honestly a shit film. I thought it was boring. The scene with the twins was GOOD. Perhaps the single good thing about that movie. But mostly I don't remember anything about it at all. 2/5. "I am so exquisitely empty." Yeah babe, so was this movie.

Hellraiser 5: Inferno. Similar to 6 in how its once specific guy's specific kind of hell. The male protagonists (?) suck in this franchise. It gave me a bit of a Hannibal (tv) vibe when the guy sits down with the therapist. I'm calling him "this guy" because I cannot be bothered to look up his name because it was so boring. Honestly I also BARELY remember this movie. 2/5 "Welcome to hell." I do really think Hannibal would like Pinhead. They would just love each other's work I think. I started daydreaming about a Hannibal and Hellraiser crossover. Because as mentioned, I AM a freak weirdo.

Hellraiser 7: Deader. STUPID NAME for a movie. That being said I enjoyed this one! Like a fair amount. Another great female protagonist. I really liked seeing her gathering evidence to investigate. I hated the cult leader type guy. I just thought he was fucking stupid. If it wasn't a Hellraiser movie I may have liked it more. Because the Cenobites are kind of just there? This would work as a better stand alone type of horror cult movie. I think Hellraiser was just trying out all kinds of troupes and whatever. "You should be very careful what you wish for. It just might come true." 3/5 I remembered the plot this time.

Hellraiser 8: Hellworld. This is just a slasher film that they glued Pinhead into the end of. It was giving SAW vibes at one point. With the chair with the blades that sever the arteries in your neck. I don't particularly like Saw. Just doesn't tickle me. I will admit to fast forwarding through bits of this because I just did not care all that much. I watched it only so I could store the scenes with Pinhead into my brain, and even that part was like eating holographic meatloaf. 1/5.

Hellraiser 9*: Revelations. There is that * again! Did you forget about it? Yeah I got 5 minutes in, said yo why is this SO BAD, read that this film was rushed and made mostly to keep the licensing, and then PROMPTLY shut that shit off. 0/5. Negative one million. If I opened the box, the hell I would be dragged into would include being forced to watch this movie.

Hellraiser 10: Judgement. Better than the 9th movie that's for sure. Once again, I cared very little for the man who's story the film this movie was ultimately about. These men genuinely have no personality outside of kinda just being a jackass. I did like the auditor. I thought he was pretty cool! I liked the visuals in this movie, very very gross and gory. I liked the idea of heaven sanctioned evil. I liked that Pinhead was like, lady I do not care who you are, fuck you and fuck that guy you were trying to save. I think it's stupid that he was sent to "reality" as punishment. I think it's stupid that he was punished for that. Free my boy from the confines of reality and allow him to experience the sweet pain of the flesh once more! 2/5 "After all, evil seeks evil." I also want to say that Pinhead being unwilling to strike a deal with this guy is further proof that Kirsty is special and that he should get his girl.

Hellraiser 2022: OKAY PINHEAD IS HOT. FEM PINHEAD IS SUPER SEXY. THEIR VOICE????!?!?!?!?! FUCKING WOAHHHHHHH. Also there is gay people!!! I love gay people. Honestly I thought this was a really compelling story. I think Hulu did the franchise justice. It was just very visually appealing. There were a lot of layers in a way, similar to how the first few movies had these layers of evil to them. I really liked that. I will watch this again. I just think it was a good movie. Voight's transformation was quite captivating at the end. I like that we had the Cenobites working with some kind of code again, like god intended. One of my favorite scenes is the one where Nora gets got. "...heaven. There's no music in that." It's just REALLY HOT sadomasochism vibes and I'm here for it. Maybe I'm just fucked up and gay though. 5/5 stars. It was worth getting through the bad movies for this beautiful creation.

A Case for Milo's The Epicurean Society

Have I mentioned how good Milo's (Bad Influence's) newsletter is? I'm sure I have. And I'll continue to say so while it continues to be true. Besides how flirty and fun it is, it's a good way for him to interact with his fans while maintaining a stronger boundary than on Instagram (see my post about not making it weird). And you get such a wonderful insight into what inspires him and his thought process surrounding his work.

Case in point, he talks about his latest audio, Happy Camper, a steamy story involving sexual compersion while out on a trip to the woods with friends. He explains that this is absolutely a kink for him (he even does a Kink 101 audio about it) and the original version of this audio, titled (maybe?) The Epicurean Society, became a monster in its own right. That eventually he had to scale it back to make it work as a regular Quinn audio. Based off of Secret societies like The Life and Death Brigade, your partner who you met in college, belonged to a club called “The Epicurean Society”. Several of your mutual friends belonged to this well-known secret, but you were too busy to join back in the day. Ten years later, the epicurean society decides to have a reunion, and you are sharing a campground with the aforementioned mutual friends. Initially it seems like the wild days that leaned more towards debauchery are in the past… but you have been noticing the friends being a little more PDA, and some of them flirting with you. When your partner comes to check on you in the tent that evening, things start to get spicy and you decide you’d like to reignite an old tradition… opening the tent door and letting your friends watch. But If you think they end up only watching, you haven’t been listening to enough of my audios.

Now here's the thing: I get that maybe this is a bit too much story for a regular Quinn drop. It's not there isn't room for that, I mean look at Naudio's Celestial Bodies series as an example (which I'm excited to write about), but for a one-off drop? I know that he's up to the task, but it would be a challenge to make it work. But despite that, I would argue that this story should not be discarded, or simply replaced with Happy Camper, which, while hot AF, is not the same thing.

If Milo were to ever read this, though I doubt he will, I would argue that The Epicurean Society would make for either a fantastic audio series, or an even more fantastic novel. I already know that Milo is a fantastic storyteller. His voice, both literal (I mean, I am a fan) and figurative are equally beautiful. It's now just how he says things, it's what he actually says. At times, Milo will say a sentence that pulls me out of the reverie so sweetly with how earnest or lovely it is. Or sometimes by just how dirty it is because really, it can be a little shocking and I listen to smut on the daily. And I can only imagine the pleasure of having that voice in my head (figuratively, unless he makes an audiobook) while I read let's say 150 pages of tension, release, and yearning? There is just SO much he can do with this story. With the number of potential combinations and characters, this could be a whole series.

I know that he is currently working on a historical erotic novel and trust me, I will be first in line to buy it when it's done and I'm sure he's noodling on this idea for something in the future, otherwise why share it? But if it's encouragement, or validation that is needed to push this project out, let me be the one to help. Because I read this and got excited. Not like that. Well...not just like that. It's the excitement I feel when I see an artist who is REALLY onto something. I feel like if there is anyone who can handle this particular subject with the kind of deftness required to balance spicy, sexy scenes with an almost painful honesty and sweetness...it's Milo St. James, Bad Influence, Your Sound Sidepiece or whatever else he wants to call himself.

I'll be curious where this authorship journey takes him regardless, but if there is even a chance it could lead him, and by extension the rest of us, to what happens behind closed doors with The Epicurean Society? Sign me the ABSOLUTE FUCK UP.

This time of year used to be your favorite, but working tirelessly through the years, you have had to prioritize your time better. The special effects makeup collection you accrued has been boxed up in your closet for who knows how long. You have invested so much time, effort, and money into it.
