If it's asks you want, asks you shall get! I remember you mentioning that you think Spot will probably die in the next movie. However, Miles says something like "Spot only wants to be respected, like everyone else," before he gets interrupted by Miguel. Maybe this could hint at Spot making it out alive. Or this is just wishful thinking on my part. And if he really does die in the next movie, then it will be due to his own actions, like using up all his powers or smth like that.

tbh, my reasoning for spot dying can be boiled down to a few points. but first, i wanna talk about...

why i absolutely believe spot shouldnt be killed off.

1. the current narrative is that miles is effectively breaking the cycle that is "canon", giving a big 'ol Fuck You to whats defined as fate and inevitable pain. spots trying to force miles in to the narrative hes made up in his head (which coincides with whats meant to be "canon"), but things dont have to be that way and miles KNOWS that. i think itd be thematically appropriate if miles breaks this cycle of cruelty and allows spot to survive, making him have to face his own actions and crippling lack of self worth and actually work to make things better, for himself and everyone hes hurt.

2. im overly attached to spot being disability-coded, for more on that, please read this amazing post that opened my third eye. anyway, the tl;dr is that spot behaves and is treated a lot like a newly, visibly disabled person, subject to the same prejudices as they are as well as being forced to navigate an entirely new body, as somebody might have to if they were to receive a workplace injury that left them disfigured and permanently disabled. this is also why id like it if he doesnt get turned human again/"cured" at the end. it just doesnt feel like itd be satisfying for things to end like that for him. if anything, the most satisfying conclusion to his arc would if he got stopped, and then be given the opportunity to finally take responsibility for his own actions, and acknowledge his own fault in what happened to him and that it ultimately wasnt miles that did this to him and that even so, one of the things thats NOT spots fault is how he got treated for what happened to him so he really should get understanding and validation in that department. he also deserves to learn how to accept himself (beyond seeing his new form and powers as a tool to pursue revenge) as he is instead of it being framed likes hes only worthy of respect and recovery once he becomes human again.

3. i like him a lot and thinks he deserves better than to just be killed off.

why i think that despite it all, spot will be killed off:

1. any form of redemption or willingly giving up entirely depends on if spot can bring himself to listen to reason and take responsibility for his actions. something weve seen that hes notoriously bad at.

2. why would spot willingly choose to give up and back down when hes got absolutely nothing left for him in life? theres literally nobody waiting for him on the other side of this if he does. no family. no friends. no job. nothing. he might consider himself too far gone.

3. while 90s cartoon spot DID redeem himself, he did it through a heroic sacrifice...

4. lbr spiderman villains usually either get jailed or killed off. why would things be different for spot. because hes sympathetic? a lot of villains are. hes also insanely powerful and this could end up as a "destroys himself"" situation.

5. spot might be about to commit mass murder, which...definitely makes it harder to consider him as somebody "worthy of redemption".

6. ive watched so many of my favorite characters die. im not kidding i have the worst luck. 98% of them have been killed off and i think spot might be next in line bc its unlikely the writers care about him as much as i do. :(

mini analysis on the finale

yall im not even gonna lie..........i liked the season 5 finale. the concept that these are teenagers who have been beaten and worn down to a crisp to the point of multiple mental breakdowns from both marinette and adrien.........like of course marinette didn’t tell adrien. she’s a literal child, and she loves him, and honestly? its really not her PLACE to tell him. emilie knows about gabriels involvement with the miraculous. nathalie knows about EVERYTHING. there are multiple ADULTS who can step in and talk to him about this, and they chose not to. multiple people have said it: of COURSE adrien deserve to know, and i will be very upset if they never write in him finding out. but it also seems excessively cruel to do that to adrien. as far as adrien is aware, his dad was trying. he thinks his dad is a man chiseled away by depression and grief, who turned towards his works to cope with the loss. he believes there was a turning point where his father started to try. he allowed him to go to school, to make new friends and go to their house, allowed him to quit, started to show up to school events, and finally started to show him affection. adrien is none the wiser on WHY, and it feels extremely cruel to take away what little happy moments he had left with his father. what is the bare minimum to us, is literally EVERYTHING to adrien, and to me, that does mean something. to me, seeing gabriel sacrifice himself for adrien and his wife-- means EVERYTHING. it is what differentiates an evil, unrecoverable person, from a dynamic character who was never meant to be a good person. we were never meant to like gabriel. he’s the villain! but that doesn’t mean we aren’t supposed to be sympathetic to certain aspects of his journey.  i really do think his character was written well. gabriel is a bad, unredeemable man, who did one good action. i personally can’t look at gabriel from season one and say, “he shouldve sacrificed his life in place of his wives life sooner”, it feels wrong. gabriel from season 1 was EXTREMELY different from gabriel from season 5. we see him change (for the worse) over the course of five seasons. 

and the thing about how gabriel is written is like, its realistic. gabriel isnt just a cartoon villain from some kids show, he show’s patterns of real life villains as well. the manipulation, the lying, the guilt tripping, the abuse-- all of it. and thats why, i understand why some people are pissed he got redeemed. but for me, i see the build up. lila has the photographs from gabriels house, and she knews he was monarch. on top of this, it seems like she’s the successor to the butterfly miraculous. people know what he did, and its not just the people on the good side. i don’t see gabriel staying a sympathetic figure for much longer. but all this being said, i dont think it was the worst. the pacing was great, and the animation was top tier for me. theres so many episodes where i can predict whats going to happen next, but i couldn’t with this one. some thing about it just felt....special. like if you showed alyssa from 2016 the finale, i could literally die. no need to show a peasant child, just showing Season One Era fans what happened and how it looks and we’d just. die. everything about it 10x better than we couldve imagined. the writing, the animation, the pacing, the score, the dialogue, the way the world has expanded and been built up and how often we’re interacting with “background characters”.  for once, it felt like i was watching a real show, with a plot that made sense, and wasnt a dumpster fire. but...from reading the #MLBS5Spoilers tag....yall do NOT agree with my sentiments! and thats okay!

how did you find your hyperfixation? i think in 2017/early 2018 i heard about it from a friend like, between seasons two and three? i don't remember the dates specifically but i DO remember the person who made me want to watch it in the first place ^-^ im pretty sure. what draws you towards it? OH so many things. i think the first time i was just drawn in by the monster designs and by blinky like as a character being super endearing, plus i just think this kind of supernatural hero cartoon is super fun for me. but i think what keeps bringing me back is always jims character, like. me and mayo were watching it and i swear at least once an episode we'd have to go on a tangent about how fucking depressed this kid is, and idk maybe we're reading too far into it but i do think his character is an exploration of growing up depressed/suicidal and thats always what draws me back to it. he's a good character, and i think i watched it for the first time at just the right age for that to really hit me and it kind of lives in my soul. tell us about one of your favourite characters! man can i tell you about blinky dude i fucking love blinky i think hes super endearing i like that he is a goofy asshole i like the way he treats jim i think his dynamic with arrgh is really strong i like the way his dialogue is written i like kelsey grammers voice i like his eyes i like his goofy ass proportions i like that he is like the epitome of "very smart guy is a complete idiot" i like that he's characterized as just always being at 100% i think its a smart way to make opposite characteristics work together and have him be able to slide between wise mentor and Worst Decision Maker and i just find his general intensity very endearing i like his relationship with his brother i like his relationship with kanjigar i like when he is kind of petty and rude and i like that he still gets to be the surrogate father figure and i like all the scenes where he talks to jim. one thing i think is like the epitome of Why hes so good to me is like. so blinky is very intense and sometimes he gets Intensely Paranoid and nobody in trollmarket really respects him because he's got a history of buying into really outlandish conspiracies and stuff, but this means that whenever Jim brings up something that seems impossible, even if blinky doesnt really believe him he still takes jims side and chooses to believe him, because he knows what its like to have nobody on your side, and idk i just think thats sweet. all of blinkys worst traits are reflected in his best ones and i think its a really effective way to write a character. also hes my dad

Dragonball GT is the worst series of all the Dragonball series.

I recently watched a video created by Totally Not Mark about which series is better out of GT and Super when it came to the franchise in general and part of me remembered my huge dislike towards the series so I figured I’d get on my keyboard and do that good ol’ fashioned “post an opinion” onto Tumblr because that is what the site is mostly for. So Instead of posting about how I think super is better I’m going to just post why the hell GT is a horrible show to me and the things it gets right and why in general the show is horrible. Now before I get into that context I am in no way a super fan or the type of person who says that subs are better than dubs because we all love anime and shouldn’t restrict others from liking their thing because we fill we are superior to each other based on our willingness to read or because we think “that the voice actors in Japan are so much better and you lose the feeling you get when you watch Americans try and fail at it”. Look as a filthy casual who usually never gets angry or upset at most things my reasons for disliking GT aren’t going to be what most people would see as a bad thing or even say the reasons I like GT are the exact same reasons and if you can come to appreciate the reasons I give that’s cool and if you disagree that is fine as well as long as it leads to civil discourse because again, it’s anime and no one is superior in their likes to another just because of some arbitrary reasons. In the end, it’s all just cartoons. So before I get into why i dislike GT at every turn I see it show up I have to praise it for what it does right to me. That is the visuals of the how the characters looks. See I get that it’s like 10 years into the future or something like that and some people now look way too old like Krillin or just don’t show up ever unless it doesn’t matter but with who we got they look great and I would never take away how good they look. Also the villains as much as I will get into them are actually kinda cool in their own right and aren’t the worst ideas just implemented in such a poor manner that any real good they do is kinda mitigated by the fact that they are almost identical to some other villain in the end. So now with that out of the way I’m going to get into why GT is one of the worst anime of all time. At least to me.  So what makes Dragonball so great is it is a comedy genre even near the final seasons. They either had shitty reasons to amass an army or in general did silly things like make a holiday after themselves when they finally succeeded in ruling the world but in the end the genre of action anime is pretty much parodied with how it is a child who goes in and defeats these muscle men. We have a child who was never really raised by a normal adult trying to fit into a world outside of his normal views and fights these villains who against normal people would lose but in the end they all end up losing to a little boy. It’s a nice adventure with laughs and enough action to really get people to enjoy it. As much as I like Dragonball I never really liked it as much as Z. Yes I do know that it is mostly just Z over here in the west but I don’t see them really being the same manga with the shift in tone that the two had and the styles of adventure they ended up having in Z is so vastly different in comparison that to me they are totally different series when compared to each other. Also I was growing up when Z first came over to America so I didn’t see Dragonball until after it made its first debut on Toonami. So again, totally different series to me.  As for Z? Well Z is my favorite anime of all time. It’s by far not the best anime ever but I do believe it is the best action anime of all time for a couple of reasons. 1: I love how in the end they just fight better versions of the previous final boss. Vegeta? That’s just stronger Raditz who can transform. Frieza? That’s just stronger Vegeta who can transform multiple times. Cell? Thats just stronger Frieza who can transform multiple times, Regenerate, Use everyones powers, and also absorb people. You get the picture by now. Everyone else who comes after is just a “better version” of the last and that tickles my fancy. 2: It helped make certain parts of the genre of shonen manga via the introduction of tropes. Transformations weren’t really a thing before Z came along and pretty much every action anime since then has used tropes that Z has introduced. 3: It still holds up today in being a good anime and manga and in general the popularity of it was so big that even now when I’m a 30 something year old that it got a new series to continue even after GT finished it off in Super. These are the reason I think it’s the best action anime of all time but again, feel free to disagree if you want to.  As for why GT is such a shit show to me it all comes down to the fact that it introduces absolutely nothing new when it comes to itself that even the villains and the characters are a little in general copies of other characters. That and no one matters compared to Goku. If we start it off sure we have people like Trunks and Pan and even “insert comedy character who is only here because plot that could just be ignored and even removed” A.K.A. Giru. See the series starts off pretty generic in that Goku is training Uub up in the look out. He just disappeared and is finishing his time in what I assume was a 10 year training session. We are introduced to our first “villains” in Pilaf and his crew. They are finding out about not only gods look out but they also find a new set of dragonballs. Convenient plot details that are either confusing or just there to set up the series. Firstly before I get into that why was this never said before, Why did Bulma never pick up on these dragonballs, Why did pilaf just now find them if he’d been searching his entire life after dragonball? So many questions in general but still. Not the point. The point is this, they don’t have a real reason except to introduce our first main villains. Pilaf and his gang. A little weird when you look at it cause Pilaf has been bested so many times that him succeeding now seems like a stupid thing to happen. Thankfully his success is only to again, push the story. Goku and his gang have to now search for the dragonballs. Which is exactly what happened in Dragonball. This time, it’s across the universe. This is where my ability to really in general compare the shows ends. That is until in general I get to the final stretch. See there are very few things I can equate to Dragonball besides the adventure of the day aspect. You have the obvious nod towards Oolong with Zoonama who both want to marry a girl and end up falling for a boy in drag. You have the fact of Goku with a tech savvy Briefs person as well as a spunky fighter. Goku is a kid. Maybe a couple other things if I looked it up and compared but the main thing is that first section of GT is based heavily on Dragonball in general. The final stretch part begins with the “Red Ribbon Army” copy in the General Rildo part with Dr Myuu who is just also a copy of Android 20. So after this part finishes it kicks into the saiyan saga of DBZ. Baby is by far a complete knock off of 3 villains in DBZ being comprised of Vegeta, Frieza, and Garlic Jr. Why is this so? let’s face it, If you compare those 3 with him its basically a one for one beat on what he does with someone else. Firstly he’s in the body of Vegeta and even when he starts losing he goes and just becomes a great ape. Pretty much what Vegeta does in the first saga of Z. As for Frieza they can both survive in space, Has multiple different forms and lastly he hates saiyans. Now sure the reason is different but the disdain for them is pretty much comparing blue to a lighter shade of blue that looks just like blue. We could even mention that Baby is like Cell in that they are both made by science but the comparisons end there. As for Garlic Jr Baby does the same thing in taking control of people and making them the same as with the black water mist. These are what make Baby pretty much a whole of 3 separate people. Next comes the Androids and cell. Super 17 is pretty much just perfect cell. You have past villains returning to take out Goku. Those of which are Frieza and Cell. Which funny enough Frieza comes back but dies by trunks who warns of 2 androids coming to fight against Goku and kill him. Which comes in the forms of Dr Myuu and Dr Gero. Both of which, are you know, not the main androids being talked about. In fact it’s actually 17 and hell 17. Both of which are going to fuse and make one super android who changes forms into basically cell in that he can absorb energy and also has infinite energy as well. These are basically the main parts except that the end takes multiple people to fight off and kill Super 17. To which they then wish back people with the dragonballs because one of the Z fighters died and they want to bring them back. Seems that it would be fine except for the small little detail of its an evil dark dragon who when after granting the 7th wish he creates these evil dragons. Before I get into those dragons lemme question this. If Kami and Piccolo fused and the dragonballs stopped existing for a bit and it took Dende a new person to create new dragonballs wouldn’t he know of the evil dragons as well as also in general start a new chain thus stopping 7 evil dragons from existing? Oh well, at least we get 7 different dragons for Specifically only Goku to fight against. I can see people saying how can you compare the evil dragons to Buu which it’s a lot easier than you would think. How many different forms of Buu are there? would you guess about maybe 7? Cause there are 7 different forms of Buu. 6 of which are different forms when he absorbs other people. So lets take it this way. Omega Shenron also absorbs 6 different “people” in the 6 different dragonballs that aren’t his. Sure, he only gets one more form in that he has now been transformed into Omega from Syn Shenron but still. Transformations are a check. So what are the 7 different forms of Buu? 1:Kid Buu 2: Buff Buu which is when he absorbs the southern Supreme Kai. 3: Fat Buu which he gets from absorbing the Supreme Kai. 4: Evil old Buu. 5: Super buu. 6: Super buu with Gotenks absorbed. 7: Super Buu with Piccolo absorbed. 8: Piccolo with Gohan absorbed. Now some of you might be saying “that’s 8 different forms of Buu and not 7″ But in the end Syn and Omega are both different “forms” thus making 8 different forms of dragons as well. The main part that gets annoying though is how they defeat Shenron. Firstly they use fusion and then don’t win even though they could have in the end. Why? Arbitrary reasons. See in Z it was because Vegito wanted to be fused to save the others. In GT it’s cause they needed to defeat him with the spirit bomb. Just like they did with Buu. Both spirit bombs are also involving a larger amount of people than normal. In Z it was all of earth. Every person. In GT it was the whole universe. That’s not even the final part of how it’s the same. At the end of Z Goku says goodbye to his friends and fucks off. GT does the exact same thing. The show is honestly pretty much a beat for beat of Dragonball and Z. It adds nothing to the universe and what it does add  is half assed. Things like Vegeta having an epiphany that Goku is better than him twice at the final end villain or having Goku lose a tournament as a child or stuff like that fill in the cracks of the shit cake that is GT with more shit that doesn’t help or make it better. GT even fails to make what it had that was great good. The use of a new level of SSJ to defeat Baby was also used in the same ways of how Kaioken wasn’t enough to beat Frieza and then SSJ was also attained then. Everything is on a bigger scale while being comparable to the smaller scale before it. The reason I don’t compare this with Super as that even when it takes from earlier seasons of DBZ or anything else it is fresh in comparison. Goku and Vegeta doing their rivalry? not beat for beat. Older characters? They have use. Repeat villains? Frieza is almost a completely new person with his arc in that he now knows he needs to train and actually does and also does some good and even respects Goku. That’s why I don’t compare the two because they are incomparable. GT? It’s pretty much a shitty version of what came before it.

violet: unshrinking. she had always been a force of nature. relentless, iron-willed. she couldn’t be convinced the world wasn’t hers for the taking. the second of two children, violet was forever nipping at her older sister’s heels — desperate to be all grown up, big enough to walk and talk like the big kids. nine years her sister’s junior, violet had reason to feel left out. an accidental pregnancy, she was born into a family of ‘creatives’. her father a cartoonist, and her mother an art teacher. their household was rather unconventional; full of wind chimes, buckets of paint, crystals, and other miscellaneous ‘hippie crap’ — as violet so affectionately liked to call it. her parents were the softest kind of people, and that suited them well. but violet? violet was never soft.

the girl was remarkable. clever as the devil and twice as cunning, she spent her idle time outsmarting her parents and playing pranks on her older sister. she was a menace, in her younger years — but all she really craved was attention. attention from parents who, try as they may, just couldn’t relate to their youngest daughter. but violets older sister? oh, they doted on her. it was nobody’s fault, really. violet’s sister was a creative, just like their parents. whereas violet, she needed more mental stimulation. chewed up science textbooks for fun, spent hours down at the local natural history museum, and watched documentaries after school instead of cartoons. but to their credit, violet’s parents knew she was gifted. they did their best to keep up with her; but she was already leaps and bounds ahead.

violet didn’t keep many friends, as a child. kids at her school found her an easy target: bushy brows, strange parents, know-it-all tendencies. the latter was something she worked on improving, over the years, although the first two couldn’t be helped. over the years, violet taught herself how to brush it off — tried not to take things so personally. but years of trying to justify herself left her defensive, and suspicious of anyone being too overtly kind. in a word, you might call her pessimistic. but growing pains subsided, and she eventually grew out of her awkwarder of phases (thankfully). as she bloomed into her adolescence, violet even found herself gaining a little popularity — shock horror. after all, she was confident, intelligent, and as she would soon come to realise, beautiful. her latter years of high school were a breeze. she made friends, topped her classes, and kept her nose out of trouble. violet reasoned she didn’t have time for drinking, or boys, or partying. even at her parents insistence that she join in on the fun, she refused. after all, she was going to go to med school. she was going to be a doctor. that would be plenty fun enough for her.

after graduating high school, violet was offered a full ride to study medicine at one of the best universities in the country. she was born for this. so, never more eager to fly the nest, violet packed her bags and headed for baltimore. and that was it, she had made it: adulthood. out on her own for the first time, violet felt like she had the world at her feet. she was smart, and capable, and brilliant. perhaps a little sheltered, a little green – but tenacious none the less. she adored her studies, and devoted all her spare time to her school work. but her social life quickly fell by the wayside. violet failed to make herself new friends, never wanted to attend parties or social events, and the relationship with her family grew even more distant than before. she convinced herself she didn’t need anyone else — that she was her own best company. but deep down? violet was lonely. craved all those simple, normal things she missed out on when she was growing up; too busy trying to be brilliant. but still, she tried not to dwell. violet wasn’t overly fond of self-pity.

as it usually did, guilt dragged violet back to seattle for the weekend. she rarely visited, anymore. three years moved out, it often took several awkward calls from her mother to lure her back home. and washington was dismal, as far as violet was concerned. that’s what they got for living in one of the rainest cities in america. but, she would have to endure it for at least a few days, for the sake of her grandmother’s 95th birthday. violet spent most of the weekend locked away in her childhood bedroom, avoiding the festivities as best she could. even her older sister – who violet had once so adored and admired – was practically a stranger, by this point. she had expected the weekend to be one of the dullest of her life, but little did violet know, it would change her life forever.

everyone had heard the news reports. and violet found it fascinating, naturally. although, admittedly, she thought it was all a little silly — no doubt blown out of proportion. just like swine flu, and ebola, and all those other ‘pandemics’ that never came to be. it certainly didn’t scare her, that’s for sure. but then she got an email saying her flight back to maryland had been cancelled, in an attempt to quarantine the state. had things really gotten that bad? more so annoyed than anything, violet resigned herself to the fact that she would have to spend a few more days in her family home – ugh. but days turned to weeks, and things only escalated. still convinced it would all blow over, none of it felt real until martial law was declared. and all at once, things started to spiral. her parents insisted they bunker down and stay put, wait it out. but violet and her sister? for the first time in years, they agreed on something: they all needed to get the hell out of seattle. as chaos started enveloping the city, their window of opportunity started getting narrower and narrower; they needed to go. and so, finally, their parents agreed. and so, all four of them piled into an suv, and they headed east.

their first few weeks on the road were tough. finding food, clean water, encountering other survivors — survivors far more armed and able than they were. violet got her first few up close and personal encounters with the dead, the horror of which she found hard to comprehend. it was all so much, she kept hoping it was some nightmare she had dreamed up inside her head. but no, it was all too real. and violet, she wasn’t built for such a world. she didn’t know how to use a weapon, how to defend herself. hell, she’s 5′2″ for god’s sake — she was barely allowed to ride a rollercoaster, let alone handle a gun. violet could be harsh, and stubborn, and insensitive, but she certainly wasn’t violent. she wasn’t faint of heart, but the first time she put down a walker, she couldn’t stop herself throwing up. but the worst, unimaginably, was still to come.

first, they lost her mother. not to the undead, but to illness. a wound gone septic, violet did all she could. but they had no medicine, no clean water, no food. living amongst the dirt, and the rot of a dying world. violet blames herself, for not being able to save her mother — she’s sure her sister blames her, too. she was supposed to be the great big medical student, after all. if she could do nothing else, surely she could do this. but still, she couldn’t stop her mother from slipping away. her mother as well, was the first person violet saw turn. up until that point, she was convinced a person had to be bitten — that’s what they all thought, and yet. violet’s sister put her mother (or what was left of her) down, and they buried her somewhere peaceful. their father’s death came only three weeks later, his demise far quicker and more violent. caught amongst a horde, he got surrounded. all violet and her sister could do was flee, tear stained and trembling. after that, all they had left was each other. two against the world.

violet and her sister all but tore each other apart, those first few weeks on the road alone. so disagreeable, so set in their ways, compromise seemed impossible. and grieving, the both of them, in staggeringly different ways. violet on one hand, shut down. refused to talk about it, put on her toughest, bravest face; interrupted by the occasional outburst of emotion. whereas her sister grieved out loud — wanted to talk about it, needed a shoulder to cry on. incompatible to their core, seemingly. but still, despite the strain and the heartache, they loved each other; needed each other. what else did they have left, after all? half the battle was getting to know each other all over again. the people they had missed out on getting to know, during their years apart. tensions never entirely faded, but the pair managed to build a few bridges — eventually learning to tolerate each other’s company, even if only some of the time.

after spending time with a few small groups that quickly dissolved, the pair decided the only real option they had was to go it alone. after all, how were they supposed to trust anybody else, anymore? on this, violet and her sister both agreed: they would steer clear of other survivors at all costs. until that is, they met landon scott’s crew. caught amongst a swarm, violet and her sister were quickly losing control of the horde: overwhelmed. but suddenly, a small group flocked to their aid — no doubt saving their lives. to repay the debt, violet offered to help patch up on of the survivors that had been injured in the fight, which ended in her and her sister being brought back to the warehouse. it was a better established base than they had seen in months, and the group (as motley of a crew as they were) were clearly able. therein, they were offered a proposition: if you’re willing to work, you’re welcome to stay. and so, somewhat reluctantly, the pair agreed.

violet is no hardened survivor, nor was she built for such a world. but she’s determined, iron-willed, unwilling to fail. refusing to give up. she bottles her fears, of which there are plenty, and replaces her worry with a stoney facade. she can come off as cold, sometimes. blunt, sarcastic, unconcerned with pleasantries. but that’s the only way violet knows how to cope. if she is to survive, she needs to guard herself closely — maintain the ridged veneer. she knows her sister worries about her, wishes she would talk to her more, but violet is stubborn. she offers valuable assistance as a medic, but she still feels useless when it comes to fighting the undead. she’s learning, of course – teaching herself. one on one, she can take down a walker decently enough, but once they start grouping up? violet panics, gets overwhelmed. compared to some of the other, more skilled fighters amongst their ranks? she feels pathetic.

1. On Saturdays, I like to… Depends what mood I’m in or how I’m feeling. If I’m in a tired, ’cba with anything’ mood I can easily lounge in my jammies at home watching telly and playing sims. As someone who suffers anxiety/panic attacks it was a massive achievement to travel to blackpool, go dance at Winter Gardens ballroom ON MY OWN in a room full of strangers for 6 hours, and come out with a certificate.

I was all set with my "The First Purge" review. But, as I was about to post it, it was as if I could hear y'all saying "Dammit, John Praphit - it's always monsters, super villains, demons, ghosts, and senseless violence with you. Could you PLEASE, for the love of all that's holy, recommend a movie that's wholesome, good, and family-friendly for a change? You're scaring my family! My spouse and I keep having nightmares! Little Suzie keeps slapping people and dropping F-Bombs. And little Timmy won't come out of the closet. Dag on you, Praphit! You rat bastard! Just one clean movie!"

While I don't appreciate the name calling, I do understand. That's why this post is all about kids. Granted, I personally believe that "The First Purge" (grade B movie btw) is for the kids, I can see why some might object. (Side note: It's def not a movie for you if you're a Trump supporter or lover of Fox News... or one of those people who believe that racism is made up - this movie is not subtle about its points :)

Let's review a handful of family movies that maybe you haven't seen yet, and a few that we're waiting to see. 　

#1 - The Incredibles 2

This long-awaited movie has got something for the whole family! For the kids - It's got plenty of talking back to parents... though I guess thats not a good thing. I kept waiting for Mr. Incredible (the dad) to force feed the kids their veggies, and for Elastigirl (the mom) to slap each child from across the room, but I guess that could end up in a child abuse direction that you wholesome families out there might disapprove of...

Think about it -

Mom and Dad: "YOU WILL DO WHAT WE SAY! NO BACK TALK!"

Kids: "We're going to call the cops on you!"

Mom and Dad: "Do it! See what happens to them! We're (bleepin) super powered! And if they DO manage to lock us up, you had better pray we don't get out!"

... but I guess that's kinda dark, so I'll move on. 　

Something for the women -

Gender role reversal up in here! Mom is out there making the bacon, while dad is staying home to take care of the kids. It's cool, but it's been done. In this super-powered world, imagine if they had men with the power to have kids and man-boob-feed.... though I guess y'all out there wanting me to recommend a wholesome movie don't want to imagine that. I got it; I'll stay focused.

Sherlock Gnomes:

I've always hated gnomes, personally. Why you ask? Look at these pics!

They always look so perverted to me. Like they're always... well, I won't say, cuz again I'm being wholesome for the kids in this post, but... y'all know... just look at this one.

You might say "John Praphit, you're being prejudice." Yeah? You know who these gnomes' faces remind me of? -

That's right! Maybe someone, early on, should have been MORE prejudice against such faces.

Anyway, a crime of perversion has been committed! And Sherlock is out to prove that though most acts of perversion in this animated movie universe are carried out by gnomes, this one particular act was not! - so instead of 100 proven crimes by gnomes so far, Sherlock wants the record to be at 99; good for him. I don't like how they're trying to get our kids to like gnomes! They're the absolute worst! - I'm learning a lot about my deep hatred for these creatures as I type this out... perhaps that's something I should look into at some point... but for now, I'm giving this movie an F.

Wait, isn't Johnny Depp voicing Sherlock Gnomes? - *heavy sigh* Make that a grade Double F. 　

SHOW DOGS!

Ok, so I'm not going to sugar coat this one - this movie has a scene of dog... fondling in here, as well as borderline beastiality. I'm not exagerating. Look it up for yourself! There was actually a big controversy concerning this movie that forced the producers to cut certain scenes out.

See, at least "The First Purge" doesn't have any of that stuff in it! Maybe you'll reconsider taking the fam to go see that movie instead of this nasty one. BUT, everybody likes talking animals, right?? Somehow the fact that the fondled dogs can talk, makes it worse... sorry, I'm supposed to be focused on the wholesome.

I guess, if your family is into humans trying to get it on with dogs, then... this is the movie for you. Maybe your fam has got a lil bit of gnome in ya, if you know what I mean. Grade: F 　

Oooooh but here's one "Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation" -

this one isn't out yet, but the last two were such a success, it can't fail right?? Granted, when I think about monsters going to the beach

- it never ends well. 　

And thinking about a vamp going to a BEACH leads me to the best case scenario of this

but maybe I'm wrong and it'll be fun!

Plus, this is an Adam Sandler flick! We know that his humor is all for the kids! So, we'll assume I'm wrong and give this a pregrade of B- 　

Lastly, let's talk "Chrisopher Robin" -

Y'all know about Pooh Bear! - and his human friend. 

Loveable as can be!

In this movie (coming out soon), we have a grown ass man (CR) talking to stuffed animals. I LOVED Winnie the Pooh when I was coming up as a kid, like everyone else... though I never liked "Tigger"

- mainly because his name rhymes with "trigger" and more importantly it rhymes with... well, nevermind.

I also thought Tigger's character would have/should have eventually ripped those of characters to shreds; being he's a frickin tiger afterall... but that's just how my mind was working when I was a kid. Even if that DID happen in this one, at least it would be cotton coming out of these beloved characters instead of blood and organs.

I'm sure this movie about a crazy middle aged man hearing voices and relating these voices to childhood stuffed animals will be a fun adventure for the fam! PreGrade: B+!
