why pay for a gym membership when you can go back to the countryside and move bags of concrete for FREE 😍
#my life at home is so glamorous btw#so the thing about my mum is that we have almost 2 acres of land and obviously the upkeep of that is INTENSE#but her attitude - justifiably - is 'if i can do it myself then why would i pay someone to do it?'#so me and my sister have gone our whole lives used to just helping with the chores#like that's not a big deal i really think it's a bit grim how a lot of teenagers just Dont Help with the chores#BUT my point is for me and my sister 'helping with chores' isnt just like. washing up and doing laundry lmao#like we have LAND and ANIMALS and there isn't exactly a man about the house that does all the heavy lifting#so it's my mum powered by sheer rage and stubborness telling me and my sister what to lift and where to put it#and that's just how it is like we move bricks and poles and fence panels etc etc the list goes on#literally a free work out and it's then so funny bc my friends know me to be quite lazy when it comes to activity#like i dont do any sports and i refuse to go gym with them and i like my little bed etc#BUT when put in a position where it's actually shown i will typically be stronger than my friends#including the ones paying extortionate amounts for gym memberships LMAO#like me and two of my mates did ninja warrior not long ago and one of them is a proper gym lad#and i left her in the DUST and she was acc a bit fuming about it? like it made her really insecure i was like how fucking offensive is that#like she was basically insecure bc 'how can i possibly be less fit than [my name] when she does fuck all' LMFAOOOO#i giggled#it's me and my sleeper countryside build against the corporations#BUT since coming uni it has slipped a bit bc ive gone from doing an hour of intense heavy lifting at least every? two days? ish?#to doing fuck all for weeks on end and then doing short bursts of it when i come home#so doing it today was a bit sad bc i cant lift nearly as much as i used to. like i can still lug 15kg dog food bags on my shoulder#like a little farmer boy but icl i was SWEATING today with that concrete when normally i'd do it pretty easy#so maybe i'll get more into my fitness again idk. like as lazy as i am working out does give you that little rush of endorphins#and the kind of workout i do as well gives me that very human satisfaction of simple manual labour#like truly satisfies ten generations of factory workers and farmers in my bloodline lmao they r smiling down on me#hella goes home

Cheka and Grim: *sleeping on top of MC*
MC: *who just woke up* *yawns* Seriously, what's the use of renovating two rooms if I'd just end up being a bed? *slowly gets up so as to not wake up the two*
Cheka and Grim: *sleeping soundly*
MC: *decides to call Ruggie* 'Sup, hyena-boy.
Ruggie: Yo, boss! How can I help ya'?
MC: Come over here and cook breakfast. Just break the door so you could get in.
Ruggie: Geez, boss. You know I can just pick the lock. But okay. See you in a bit. *hangs up*
Grim: *wakes up* Hench-human?
MC: Mornin'.
Grim: Good morning... *then nudges Cheka*
Cheka: Huh...?
Grim: Wake up, you freeloader.
Cheka: *yawns* *then beams* MC! Good morning! *giggles*
MC: ...
MC: Wow.
MC: ...
MC: Just sleep again. I'm not dealing with this cheerfulness first thing in the morning.
Cheka: But I'm awake now!
MC: Yeah, yeah. You have like, *checks their non-existent watch*, 20 minutes. Yes.
MC: Thanks for the help, Ruggie. I'll send the money to your account.
Ruggie: Thanks, boss! Shyeheehee!
Ruggie: By the way, are you not going to send Cheka back home?
MC: They shipped him back. Looks like I'll be raising the kid. The fuck.
Ruggie: *laughs*
Crowley: MC~ My favorite employee~.
MC: What d'you want?
Crowley: *clears throat* Well, there's something I would like to confirm.
Crowley: Did you, by any chance, visit a stripper's club?
MC: Yeah. Why?
Crowley: *smiles*
Crowley: A NIGHT RAVEN COLLEGE PARENT HAD SEEN YOU! WHAT WERE YOU THINKING DANCING ON A POLE?!!
MC: *looks unfazed* You're yelling at me?
Crowley: Um, no. I'm sorry. Though I deserve an explanation to that behavior, don't I?
MC: I just danced. I didn't strip. Unless that's fucking illegal, in which I don't give a fuck also.
Crowley: ...
Crowley: But the parent is the Leech Twin's father.
MC: Huh. So? That shouldn't be a big deal to him.
Crowley: He wanted me to dismiss you!
MC: Because he wanted to hire me and my schedule's already full.
Crowley: Oh.
Crowley: Alright. I was almost outsmarted. Thank you for enlightening me.
MC: ...
MC: Tch.
Floyd: Come with us at the Coral Sea~. *while holding a knife*
MC: What? You think I have gills?
Jade: We've prepared a potion for you.
Azul: Floyd and Jade's father really wants to meet you.
MC: That little— What does he not understand with the word "no"?
Jade: I believe he mentioned that he deserves to have a pole-dancing rematch.
MC: ...
MC: Huh. I can't reject that.
Azul: You're free to bring your two kids.
MC: *clicks tongue*
Floyd: We can hire a nanny~.
MC: It's settled then.

(Realized I was never gonna finish this long ass 9-1-1 fic before the premiere, so today I’m doing the seriously condensed version for Tumblr—which I still have to break into two parts, ffs.)
It’s Thursday afternoon, three days before Father’s Day, and the atmosphere at the 118 is grim. Gerrard is gone, at least, and everyone celebrated with cake—specifically, a Ding Dong, The Witch is Dead! cake, complete with a chocolate house crushing little black boots—but to everyone’s surprise, Buck isn’t exactly welcoming Bobby home with open arms anymore. He hasn’t forgiven Bobby for resigning in the first place. Making matters worse, Margaret and Philip Buckley are flying in for the weekend. Also, Eddie is depressed because Chris hasn’t called since he left for Texas six weeks ago, and Eddie doesn’t expect to hear from him on Sunday, or possibly ever again.
Hen tells Eddie Christopher will forgive him. “He’ll come home. He just needs a minute.” Eddie says that six weeks is a hell of a minute, but Hen persists. “You’re a good father,” she says, ignoring Eddie’s humorless laugh. “You messed up; I’m not saying you didn’t. But that doesn’t negate all the good you’ve done, too. Kids, they want you to hear them. They want you to show up, so when Christopher calls, pick up the phone and listen. You two love each other, Eddie. It’s going to work out.”
But Eddie’s gaze just drifts to the kitchen, where Bobby is quietly looking at the stack of uneaten fire-engine-shaped mini-waffles that Buck refused to eat, even though he’s the one who bought Bobby that ridiculous novelty waffle-maker in the first place
“You ever think maybe love just isn’t enough,” Eddie says, and Hen isn’t sure how to answer that.
*
Meanwhile, Chimney, thankfully, has the day off and is drinking a beer with Tommy. (Hen, left to deal with these weird morose vibes at the 118 by herself, quite rightly considers this a betrayal and has appropriately sworn revenge.) Chimney and Tommy talk a little about their own families: Tommy hasn’t spoken to his dad in years; meanwhile, Chimney finally gave up months ago after actually telling his dad how he really felt about being abandoned. He just needed to hear his father apologize once, just once—but he couldn’t do that, not even that, and Chimney decided enough was enough.
Tommy, who’s only ever met the Buckley Parents one time (but has quickly clocked to Buck’s wildly shifting moods whenever discussing them), asks Chimney how much of a disaster this weekend is likely to be. Chimney tells Tommy that—apart from big family secrets and the general emotional trauma—every time the Buckleys visit, someone comes close to death: warehouse fire (Buck), lightning strike (Buck), viral encephalitis (Chimney).
“Maybe don’t go up in a helicopter till they’re gone?” Chimney suggests, and Tommy says, “Jesus,” and gets another beer.
*
Back at the 118, things have gone from bad to worse. A call leads to Buck recklessly risking his own life to save someone. He walks away with only a few bruises, but Bobby yells at him for nearly getting himself killed. Buck snarks that he must still be that young, impulsive hothead after all. Bobby, a bit at a loss, tells Buck that he has come a long way, but he can’t put himself in danger just because he’s angry at Bobby.
“What is this really about? You can talk to me, kid. I’m here.”
“Right,” Buck says, scornful. “You’re here. For ... how long again? Seven more, I think you said? No—no, you never actually said, did you? That one’s on me. Right, Cap?”
The bell goes off, ending the argument. Bobby tries to talk to Buck again after the shift, but Buck is already out the door. He barely gets any sleep that day before he and Tommy drive over for The Big Family Dinner. Tommy tries to talk Buck into staying home, suggesting they go tomorrow night instead, but Buck insists it will be a Thing if they don’t go.
Dinner goes badly. Margaret and Phillip aren’t intentionally rude or actively malicious, but there’s still a thread of casual biphobia in much of what they say: Evan’s always going through these phases. Well, if it’s not a phase, Evan, you must have known; how could you not? Please don’t misunderstand, Tommy, of course we like YOU. Very much! Yes, Tommy, thank you for your service. We’re just saying, Evan likes to throw us for a loop now and then. Really, Evan, you’ve had so many girlfriends you’re basically straight, aren’t you?
Buck finally loses it shortly after Maddie goes into the other room to check on Jee Yun. Margaret suggests that while she’s happy that Buck and Tommy are happy, of course—happy for now, at least—she’d just hoped Buck would’ve started to settle down by now, get serious about someone, rather than start experimenting. Phillip also jokes that he’d thought Buck had outgrown making bids for attention, and Buck just—snaps.
“Why did I have to work so hard to get your attention again? Right. Cause it was too hard to look at me. Cause I was the reminder of what you lost, the screwup you got left with. Maybe if Daniel had grown up and turned out bi, you’d—"
—and Margaret slaps Buck across the face.
It shocks everyone, very much including Margaret, but when Buck finally blinks and glances at his dad, Phillip automatically moves to stand behind his wife, silently taking her side. Buck, a bit dazed, mutters he’s sorry and tells Chimney not to tell Maddie what happened, right before Tommy all but pushes Buck out the door and drives him home.
Buck, still a little shellshocked, mostly can’t believe he said what he said, insists he shouldn’t have gotten that upset, and tries to brush off Tommy’s efforts to comfort him. Tries to get him to leave. Tries to distract him with sex when Tommy refuses to leave. Tommy, not having any of it, sits Buck down and talks a little about his own childhood, how he’d run away from home after his father had found out Tommy was gay, how—broken and bleeding—Tommy had never called, never looked back. Buck protests it’s not the same because Margaret and Philip aren’t abusive, have never hit him before tonight, aren’t really homophobic—at least, not in the same way—and also, Buck deserved that slap.
“Who throws a dead kid in their parents face?” Buck asks, miserable.
“Someone who lived under the shadow of a brother he never knew about for 30 years?” Tommy asks, then takes Buck’s hand and makes Buck look at him.
“Look, maybe it’s not the same. You’re never going to convince me you deserved it, Evan, not any of it—but what I’m saying is, when people repeatedly hurt you? You don’t have to look back. You don’t have to keep trying. You can, if that’s what you want—but you don’t have to forgive anyone just because they’re family. That’s not what being a family should be. And, for what it’s worth, that includes Bobby, too. Just ... maybe consider what you’re actually angry about—or if it’s even anger you’re really feeling here—before deciding to cut him off for good.”
Slowly, Buck sinks into Tommy’s side. Tommy wraps an arm around him. Kisses him gently just above birthmark.
(Part II is finished, coming tomorrow or the next day)

Yeah I didn't see that one coming either.
Kale needs to grind for satisfaction points to buy a potion of youth (cause I just spent them all on savant right before this like a genius) and they keep rolling the want to make gourmet pet food. Miss Honey is not complaining.
Me: What an iconic quee- GET OUT OF HERE CLEMENT
SHE KNOWS
Kale asked Svetlana to woohoo in the crypt. 🥴 Consider this a test Dave, keep it chill - full autonomy is a bitch. Windy is already sad that Svetlana is flirting with anything with a pulse, this place is a mess.
KEEP IT CHILL DAVE THIS ONE DOESNT END WELL FOR YOU
oh god we might have to kill Dave
Kale: You seem mad. Dave: Really? How could you tell?
Kale: It's a lot to take in- Dave: And all those people? Kale: Cowplant Milk.
Dave: Right. So how does this end?
Kale: Well the house is already maxed with 8 sims, the watcher has the limit at 15 so we could fit you and the baby. We'd just have to be careful going into CAS, but it also might be fun to play you as a ghos-
Dave: Wait- woah, hold on- baby?
Kale: It's not a big deal. Dave: It's a bit of a big deal. This is all a bit of a big deal. Kale: Dave, you're the blandest most unseasoned tray townie I've ever met- I don't even think Milkshake would be interested in eatin- Dave: Yes. Kale: What do you mean?
Dave: 𝙔𝙚𝙨, I'll marry you.
Author's Note: He agreed to adjust his romantic jealousy boundaries, his enamored moodlet overpowered his angry one and also autonomously asked about marriage during this conversation so we're rollin with it baby
After 3 botched attempts cause the gemology skill is ruthless, Cleo made Toni a bracelet to help with her writing skill!
Toni: For me? Really? Cleo: The watcher shoved you into university classes for gameplay, it's the least we can do to help. Toni: That's so nice…
Toni: Wow I really don't know how you lived through that one. Dave: Love? Toni: Nah. Either the watcher's gone soft or she's got different plans for you. Dave: Is that good? Toni: I dunno- you tell me when you find out!
Toni: SO DO YOU THINK ITS GONNA BE TWINS OR OCTUPLETS!? Like evil Cabbagepatch babies or something! Dave: Kale's not evil..? Toni: No they're worse, they're boring. Like you!
Townie Dave, which is just what i think I'll call him now, is happy he gets to live for another day! The Reaper Career had a position open up after the recent death of a clingy vampire obsessed grimtern- so he'll be starting as a Grimbro tomorrow!
Townie Dave had his first day of Active Work as a Grimbro! He did a fantastic job ticking boxes and swinging a scythe and even ordering office supplies!
And it only makes sense that when you've committed to getting married to a serial killer- that you're name is gonna be at the top of Grim's list. Pinned. 📌
But that only makes Townie Dave appreciate the little moments more! What a chill dude.

Erin's Birthday Interview
Interviewer (I): Happy birthday, Erin! How are you this evening? Erin (E): I’m good, thanks. Are you here to interview me? I: That’s correct. I’ll start with the basics. How is your birthday going so far? E: Pretty well, actually. I didn’t expect this big of a turn out. I: That’s good to hear! Have you received any gifts? E: I have! Ace and Deuce worked together with Trey to bake me a peach cobbler. Kalim gave me a necklace and Vil got me a bunch of fancy soaps and skincare products. Riddle said I could spend an hour with the hedgehogs in Heartslabyul… under his supervision, of course. Ortho made me a music playlist and Grim gave me a can of tuna. I: A can of tuna? E: Yeah, he gives everyone a can of tuna as a gift. I think he just gives people things he likes. I: I see. So, Erin, you don’t have any magic. E: Nope. I: You’re also from another world. What was it like for you when you first got here? E: The first thing I saw when I woke up was a cat looking monster trying to take my clothes. Then, a masked man showed up to bring me into a room full of guys wearing black eyeliner and matching robes. I thought I was about to be sacrificed to a cult. I: A cult? You thought our orientation was part of a cult? E: It was the only thing that made sense at the time! I: Right… so, what is the world you’re like from? E: Next question. I: I- excuse me? E: Next question. I: Oh, alright. What is your family like? E: Pass. I: Do you not want to talk about your home? E: Nope. There’s no point, is there? I: I won’t pressure you. Let’s just get to some of the other questions, then. If you could pick any student to be your sibling, who would you choose? E: I certainly don’t need any more siblings, but… I’ll go with Deuce. I: Deuce, huh? E: Yeah. Besides from the fact he’s someone I already consider a friend, I think he’d make a good brother. He treats his mother well, so I imagine he’d treat a sister the same way. Did you know he sends his mother flowers at least once a month? It’s adorable. I: I’m sure Deuce will be pleased with your answer. Ace? Not as much. E: Sorry, Ace. You played yourself.
I: If you were to join any other dorm other than Ramshackle, which dorm would you choose? E: Probably Pomefiore. I: Why Pomefiore? E: I like the uniforms the best. Purple suits me well. I: Is that your only reason? E: Not at all. Epel is cool, and I get along well with Rook and Vil. I don’t really mind Vil’s high beauty standards because I have high standards, too. I want to look good AND feel good.
I: Aren’t your closest friends in Heartslabyul? E: Heartslabyul would be my second choice, but the aesthetic is a bit much for me. Riddle is fine, but I wouldn’t want to live under him. I: Why not? E: Why not? I can name 810 reasons why not. Vil’s skincare regime or whatever is one thing, but Heartslabyul’s rules are a whole other beast. Do you have any idea how weird it is to walk into a room of dozens of dudes singing because a hedgehog sneezed? I: It’s not for everyone, I suppose. Is there a dorm you wouldn’t want to join? E: Octavinelle. I would rather sit at the bottom of the fish tank than deal with Azul. I: Care to elaborate? E: And ruin such a nice birthday celebration? No thanks! I: Alright, then. I’ll leave you to your celebrations. Thank you for your time, Erin. E: No problem. Good luck with your article.

Overblot mc/yuu but...????
TW — mention of vomiting, fighting Crowley and winning (sorry Crowley lovers), past death. I like thinking a lot tbh
not necessarily angst but it is in here! Same with fluff...this was really just me rambling.
* EDIT: WHY DID IT TAKE HOURS UNTIL I FINALLY GOT TOLD I WAS WRITING OVERBLOT WRONG.
I think about MC overbloting a lot and I also think about adding it into my own books because of how??? good??? the idea???? is???????
I genuinely imagine that even from the start MC was in danger of overbloting themself, with the stress and despair of finding out they aren't in THEIR world, away from their (family and/or friends) with possibly NO WAY BACK EVER because of some egocentric crow refusing to do more than he wants to???????
They would obviously be hella upset, stressed, depressed, anxious, etc because they know NOTHING of this world and is practically a BABY among people who lived here THEIR WHOLE LIFE.
So as more overblots happen, the more their OWN overblot is brewing. Bubbling, waiting to enter the game. Especially with the magic always getting slashed onto them. I think the only reason why they HAVEN'T overbloted just yet is because of grim
a more personal headcanon; Grim's fire, when you have a close bond with him, sorta starts erasing your blot and fueling HIS flames, making it more powerful. Essentially, think of when you're close friends with someone... you'll find it easier to fight for them right?? like you have more power to do that??? that's what its like
Now think of when MC is just TOO deep in their mind, TOO deep into their emotions and its the ONE TIME grim isn't there to help. They go to throw up blot and after panicking for a bit they just accept it. They accept that "I'm gonna overblot and probably die" because they're just too tired to worry abt themself
They don't tell anyone and since the overblot is already taking over the entire inside of their body, grims flames can't really???? get it all???? It'll always be there and it'll continue to grow and slowly grim notices that when he's feeling more powerful than ever while MC is showing obvious signs of getting ready to overblot
Grim choosing not to say anything to other people would be like... i guess out of character but at the same time i think In character????? He knows how tired MC is with dealing with everyone and honestly he's tired of it too so YASSS SLAY HENCH-BESTIEEE!!!!!
Sooner or later the others would notice too and it would be a little late to help MC since the overblot is already seeping out of their skin like they're crying. and honestly? their body IS crying. it's crying blot. And even as everyone is screaming and panicking about MC, they're just... sitting there.
Like they're annoyed everyone is making a big deal out of it considering no one cared before, and they're just like "stfu we're in class" and then focus on the teacher going "u can continue im sorry abt that."
And everyone is just??? confused?? because why aren't they going haywire or like.....???? idk..... crying in pain....????? what...........
MC just chilling the entire day while overbloting, even their overblot monster just floating behind them in peace and waving at times when people look for too long while everyone else is wary and giving them (+ grim who's always in MC's hold) a bunch of space while the teachers and dormleaders have their pens/wands/wtvr thr fuck at command just incase
but then everyone just realizes that??? MC isn't gonna???? do anything?????? and it kinda irritates them because why aren't you doing shit its freaking them out.
And lets say,,, ortho... as discreetly as he can... scans you. And it shows that you're perfectly fine??? like you aren't dying or in pain. It even shows the Blot monster being alright too like its just a guy standing there.
And now the confusion is up to 100 because WHAT????
MC and the Blot [+ Grim] just doing their everyday assignments and eating in the cafeteria with their friends being visibly tense and MC just raises an eyebrow like "whats wrong with yall tf" before continuing to absolutely DEMOLISH a burger they got for free. FREE!!! best day ever fr they'll tell you that much
I feel like the Blot would get sorta aggressive/protective when it comes to people who has like hurt MC to the point they had to take a nurse visit (half of the school but its alr we gang fr) but when it comes to crowley....??? They'll see the FULL POWER of a magicless blot monster which is actually more terrifying than the others.
The blot going hulk on crowley is so funny to imagine for me cause he'd just be running away and suddenly gets smashed into a pillar from a literal stomp. just one. and it was relatively weak compared to the Blot AND MC picking up and swinging that SAME PILLAR to smash it into crowley.
All that anger and other negative emotion finally coming out the SECOND they even so as HEAR that crows heartbeat nearby. It gave everyone whiplash but then again they also all collectively thought that he deserved it considering he hasn't truly done anything to HELP the students but just to HELP the schools reputation.
I'm half certain a student died there and he just covered it up and they turned into a ghost that haunts places. (i mean... look at the three ghosts in Ramshackle. they used to be students there I'm pretty sure????? i forgot.)
As MC is beating the DOG SHIT out of crowley the Blot is just cleaning everything up slowly because they realized that they dirted up the place :( and when MC is done they help too as the teachers all circle around a throughly beaten and bruised Crowley who has blood seeping out of his mouth while being half awake.
Of course they help him don't die because they honestly don't want the one helpful person to go to the equivalent of jail in twisted wonderland for committing murder and ykw thats so real.
I feel like as Mc stays in this overblot form everyone thats close-ish to them gets memories of things that's happened to them in the past like how MC did. But it's worse. I want an mc thats traumatized im sorry and i want it to be worse than what half of these guys went through.
I need them to feel guilty even more. Like. "Oh my god I really said that when— holy shit" FEEL BAD!!!!! Grim would already know their past because I know I would be cuddling into Grim's stomach and crying about everything.
When Mc finally stops "Overbloting", the Blot would still be there but as its own person :D How does this work????? it works bc I said it does.
The Blot™ would help MC a lot and vice versa, basically acting like parents now with how worried they get over everyone and the other. Grim is eating the attention up though as both Mc and The Blot cuddle as therapy (and bc they wanna)
Everyone (especially idia) would need time to like... get used to that because there's "NO FUCKING RECORD OF AN OVERBLOT BECOMING ITS OWN PERSON AND BEING....NICE?????"(shrouds words not mine ong) and when they do get used to it its like everyone is genuinely happier because! gasp! they are!!!
kick the crow out the seat. Both the Blot and Mc are the new headmaster contrary to the students voting them when Crowley got demoted from it.
I also feel like....??? Instead of MC goinf back home cause they realize just how BAD it was back home, they choose to have a bridge between both realities so that its their (friends and/or families) choice on if they want to be with them in twisted wonderland or not.
MC & Blot beating the shit outta Crowley as everyone watches (and cheers)

my roman empire is that i’m convinced there had to have been a second surgery during tony’s captivity. listen. listen. we don’t see it suddenly he just Has the arc reactor but ok. the electromagnet looks. fairly shallow. like we can see the bit that is the electromagnet and it’s in there a Little bit it’s not Fit Your Entire Hand In There like the casing for the reactor is later. there also isn’t an obvious like… casing around it. it’s just kind of Thing On There.
they had to fit the reactor in there somehow. likely had to make the existing,,,, space, deeper. i just… i’m obsessed with all the spaces during the captivity that we don’t see. did tony tell yinsen what he was doing? at what point did they have the discussion of how to get it in there? they had cameras! it must have been obvious at some point that whatever he was making was Not a bomb. especially when they got to having install it. and also “install” is. not a word that really conveys exactly what would have had to happen holy shit.
(also again, gotta be how stane knows about the reactor in the first place, right? the rings would have known about it and he was in contact with them. it wasn’t rhodey or pepper who told him.)
also. something i cannot stop thinking about. the “it could power your heart for a lifetime/or something big for 15 minutes” conversation and how that is one of Thee thrulines in both im1 and 2. tony consistently choosing to use the reactor in ways that make it more dangerous for him.
also. do you think that tony knew it would poison him. do you think even as he was making it and preparing to get it put in his chest he knew the palladium was going to be a problem. do you think he was always, from the second he woke up attached to a car battery, operating on the assumption that he was living on borrowed time?
i just. augh. AHHHH. im1 + 2 movies that make me INSANE
OH ONE HUNDRED PERCENT I AM ALWAYS SAYING THIS. YOURE RIGHT
the electromagnet was surface level. the reactor has Housing it has a big metal tunnel into his chest that pepper can stick her whole hand down to fish out an electromagnet and she has to play operation not to have the wire touch the casing on the way back out there is a Foundation Of Metal going on. also based on how it works there's definitely a pacemaker type of deal installed at some point here
guy has a titanium pringles can in his chest and it's got to be bolted into his ribcage so it doesn't move around like the first thing he and yinsen are drafting in that cave is 100% a solution for"how do we fit this thing into my chest without killing me" there just has to be a second surgery. and tony is NOT a doctor he is NOT a surgeon so yinsen's input is definitely needed here to make sure it also doesn't. like. kill him horribly god the cave sequence is grim
(obadiah knowing about the reactor from the 10 rings is both better and worse than finding out from rhodey thanks i'm pacing around the room)
raza doesn't look that surprised when he sees the reactor in tony's chest?? so i think we have to assume that at least Some conversation was had re: "listen the thing you want him to build is going to take longer than the week he has to live, the math does not check out, we have do to this one thing first" but like how tense was it buying that kind of time. i'm fine
IF YOU HAVEN'T READ REVISION BY KADIGAN......
also YEAH i DO think he knew as he was making it that the palladium was going to be a problem i think he started keeping tabs on it from the second he got home, iron man 1 and iron man 2 are just part 1 and part 2 of the same movie they're continuous they're back to back they're so good they make me insane
#FILMS OF ALL TIME. MOVIES OF ALL TIME#kayvswords#thrilled to receive a novel in my askbox. feels very 2017

“Oh look, the Culinary Crucible sign ups are out again, maybe I could sign up to be a judge.” The five Ramshackle residents were walking down the halls of NRC, heading off to lunch like usual until Felix pointed out the Culinary Crucible sign ups. “Nya, I nearly died last time from Lilia’s cooking” Grim sat on Yuu’s head, it was his favorite spot since her hair was so fluffy. “How did Silver survive all those years with him? Perhaps it made his stomach stronger, I should test that out later, Mumble Mumble” There Donnie went with his evil scientist thoughts again and pulling out his notebook with info about everyone in the school, honestly how could that boy not be best friends with Rook at this point.
Yuu picked up the small paper that was stapled to the cork board, she noticed two familiar names sketched in pen on the parchment. “Hm looks like Floyd and Sebek would be the ones cooking. You may want to reconsider that thought, Felix.” Yuu couldn’t lie, she was slightly excited to see what Floyd and Sebek could do but also terrified of what the food would turn into. She did know a bit of both of their skill sets too. “That damn Eel? Jeeze I already gotta deal with his ass in the Basketball club! I bet he’d poison the food if he could!” Balik groans at the thought of having to see that wicked eel’s face cook for her. “Oh hush! Hmm, maybe I should sign up to be a judge.” Yuu quickly pushed away her fearful thoughts and signed the paper. “If you get a stomach ache from their food don’t come crying to me, henchmen!”
The thought of Sebek cooking for her was on Yuu’s mind all day. She giggled softly and smiled at the thought which started to freak her friends out a bit. “Yuu has been a little too bubbly than usual.” Epel bit into his BBQ, finally able to enjoy it since Vil or Rook weren’t nearby. “I scanned Yuu earlier and her heart rate seems to be more elevated than normal!” Ortho spoke, not eating since he didn’t need food but he still could eat it in a way since Idia gave him a new update! “I couldn’t smell any potions on her breath or anything so it could be something mental.” Jack was clueless to what could have happened to their sweet friend. “Do you think someone cursed her!? I’ll get revenge for Yuu!” Deuce looked like he was about to punch someone. “Wha- no! Who could possibly want to hurt Yuu? Let’s just ask Yuu what happened when she grabs her food.” Finally Ace was actually using his head to think, which if they weren't worried about Yuu, would have freaked the group out even more. "Alright, I'll calm down." Yuu grabbed her food and made her way to the rest of the first years with the other four behind her. Yuu places her tray down and sits next to Ace. “Hello big sis-” Before poor Ortho could greet Yuu he was interrupted by a very concerned Deuce. “Are you ok!? Did someone curse you?! Did you finally snap!?” Ace face palms. “Real nice on staying calm, Deuce.” Yuu raises her brow in suspicion but keeps her sweet smile. “Oh? What’s this now?” The first year group looks back at each other before Epel speaks up. “We’re just concerned since you’ve been acting a little off today….” The other Ramshackle residents finally joined the first years. “That’s just because she’s excited about being a judge for the upcoming Culinary crucible.” Donnie sits next to Ortho while Balik, Felix, and Grim sit next to or across from Yuu. “Really, you aren't getting it? Here’s another hint, loud knight of Diasomnia.” Small ‘Oooohs’ escape the boys’ lips as Donnie explains the reason behind Yuu's state.
Yuu covers her face in embarrassment. “That’s…not the reason..” Balik stabs her food with her fork repeatedly. “Really? Jeeze I can’t tell which one of you is more dense.” Felix rubs the back of his neck nervously. “Yeah, I gotta agree with Balik here.” Ortho stands up- well floats off the ground in excitement. “Maybe we could get you two together! Big brother was playing a game with the same premise the other day!”. “I don’t think that would work. The only thing that guy seems to think about is Malleus just like the only thing Grim thinks about is fancy tuna.” Ace snickers as he looks over at Grim devouring a can of tuna in Yuu’s lap. “Nya?! Hey!” Yuu glares at Ace and he stops right away. “That’s a really sweet idea, Ortho, but I’m not sure it’s the best idea right now.” Ortho looks slightly disappointed but nods his head in understatement. “Ok big Sis! I’ll still make a plan though!”
The first years continue to talk but soon lunch comes to an end. “Man, I got P.E next. I better go now so I can get changed.” Felix whines as he grabs his empty tray and leaves. Everyone else starts to get up as well and leave for their classes. Yuu holds Grim in her arms as she walks with Ace, Deuce, and Donnie. “Oooh~ We got Alchemy next” Donnie smirks knowing he’ll get an easy 100%. “Don’t act so smug just because you’ve got slightly better grades than us!” Grim kicks his little feet causing Donnie to laugh his unsettling clown-like laugh. “Slightly? Oh please, you’ve gotten Ds and Cs on every test from Professor Crewel!” Donnie’s smirk grows even bigger as he knows Grim can’t make a well backed up argument. hours pass and classes slowly finish up for the day. “Yawn I really wish P.E didn’t kick my ass.” Felix rubs his sore arms. “Maybe it’s just because you’re weak and have little muscle on your bones.” Felix glares at Balik. “Be quiet, will you! You’re hurting my ears!” Grim interrupts their arguing before it could get any more heated. The two glare at each other before shutting up. “Hey, isn't the Culinary Crucible supposed to start tomorrow?” Donnie quickly changes the subject to make sure Balik and Felix don’t start arguing again. “Huh? Oh, yeah. It’s meant to be taking place before lunch, I think.”. Grim pouts. “Why can’t I get free food too! No fair!” Yuu giggles at Grim’s whines. The five reach their dorm and soon settle in for the night awaiting the brand new day full of opportunities to come. A certain half fae walks past the school cork board covered in flyers for clubs and what not, he looks down at the Culinary Crucible sheet. “So she has signed up to be a judge….I’LL DO MORE THAN MY VERY BEST FOR BOTH THE YOUNG MASTER AND YUU!” Sebek hurries his way back to Diasomnia so he can return to his job of guarding Malleus.
================================================
Morning comes without fail, birds chirp on cue as the sun rises with its natural beauty. Sebek was out doing his morning jogs before he had to head off to the Culinary Crucible. Sebek had originally signed up so he could learn to cook for his liege but when he found out Yuu was going to be one of the judges he felt even more determined to master the practice of the culinary arts. ‘I have to be able to cook for my future partner!’ That’s what the little voice in his head kept telling him plus Lilia said a good boyfriend should be able to cook for his partner when they’re sick or tired. Sebek finishes his morning jogs and heads inside of Diasomnia to wash off all the sweat on his body. As the cold water hits his body he thinks about how the Culinary Crucible could possibly go. He did learn a bit from Yuu when all the first years were at Ramshackle for a studie night which somehow turned into a small party. Sebek couldn’t help but blush when he remembered how Yuu’s soft hands guided him on how to cut an onion or when he burnt most of the vegetables Yuu just simple laughed it off with a reassuring smile. “How could a human like that make me feel like this….”. Oh Yuu’s soft hands, he just can’t stop thinking about them. All he wants is to have them trail along his body and wrap around his hard- “I must stop thinking about such things of Yuu! I need to get ready!”
Sebek finishes his shower and gets dressed but not before gelling up his hair like he always does. This man went through almost two jars of gel each week, if Sam didn’t somehow magically have everything in stock Sebek would have been stuck with his natural hair. Sebek quickly checks the time. “On time as always.” And with that Sebek leaves to head off to the Culinary Crucible.
================================================
All of Ramshackle’s (living) residents were sitting in the courtyard talking. It was their free time before lunch so Donnie started making bets “Ok, 10$ says Sebek burns it to ash.” Donnie rolls his eyes at Felix’s bet. “Oh please, he’s not Lilia. Althouuuugh, 5$ says he makes it too dry or too bland to eat.” Yuu couldn’t help but laugh “Wow, you really don’t have faith in him? How about 100$ says Sebek makes something that I’ll enjoy.” Both Felix and Donnie’s eyes widen “Henchman, are you feeling ok!?” Even Grim and Balik looked shocked “Yuu is making bets?!” Balik dropped her cool guy act from pure shock. “We don’t even have that kind of money! Crowley doesn’t pay us shit!” Yuu smirks at Donnie’s comment and shrugs her shoulders. “Well~ I just have a lot of faith in Sebek, I guess. Plus I should probably join in on the fun shouldn’t I?” “I guess you do seem to like him a lot.” Balik plainly states. “Seems?? Those two are head over heels for each other!” Donnie throws his arms up in the air in frustration. “We’ll just have to wait and see who the winner of the bet is.” Yuu smiles knowingly. “Nya, I’m going to buy so much tuna with this bet!” Donnie rolls his eyes at Grim’s gluttonous statement before looking down at his watch “Looks like we only have a few minutes till next period.” Everyone lets out a small groan before saying their goodbyes and parting for their next classes. ==============================================
Yuu sat comfortable in the judge’s chair with Idia to her left and Trey to her right. Sebek set a bowl full of chicken pho before her with shaky hands. He looked so nervous, which seemed so unlike him. Once Idia and Trey also reserved a bowl of the chicken pho Yuu took a small spoon full. She looked up at the nervous half fae man in front of her and put the spoon to her lips…..Woah! The chicken had a melt in your mouth texture and the broth was so flavorful! Yuu’s eyes opened in shock as she let out a small moan from the amazing dish. After the other two finished it was time for the results. Yuu was so proud of Sebek, he obviously worked super hard on the dish. Yuu happily held up the sign that had the number ten written on it. “Amazing~! I loved it!”. Trey held up a ten sign as well while Idia held up a nine sign. A big grin spread across Sebek’s face as he saw the high ranking signs, he quickly bowed. “Thank you!” ================================================
“WHAT!?” Like they planned this Felix, Balik, Donnie, and Grim all yelled in unison. “But how!?” Donnie was still in disbelief, how did Sebek do such a good job!? “My tuuuuuuuna!” Grim whined as his dreams of buying tuna with the bet money went down the drain. “Oh hush, I’ll buy you some tuna.” Grim’s ears pop up at the mention of Yuu buying him tuna. “I guess you get the money then.” Felix lets out a sigh before handing Yuu the money. “Thank you! Now remember next time not to test my intuition~” Yuu chuckled to herself. “Yeah, yeah, whatever and maybe next time we can get to taste this ‘amazing food’.” Balik still doubted Sebek of all people could cook such a good meal. “Yeah maybe…..” Yuu remembered the creamy, rich broth and melt in your mouth chicken, maybe she would have to cook for Sebek some time? Maybe a cooking date? Who knows, there’s so much time in life when you cook with love~!

I made a post a little while ago about hating the RHATO dynamic for JayRoy so here's how they work in my mind (spoiler alert, it's not healthy)
Jason is in his early 20s and Roy is in his mid-30s in my mind. this is important
Jason has Rampant daddy issues and he likes that Roy is a mostly serious older man that makes him feel kind of stupid and is Just A Little condescending (because fuck the "dumbass Roy" RHATO characterization)
Roy has been grieving Lian for like a decade now and while romance is not necessarily the best way to cope with that, it makes him feel good that he can "take care" of Jason. the age difference isn't particularly appealing to him, though, but he does like that Jason is a little bit obsessed with him
Roy is very no-nonsense when it comes to Jason's Bullshit, and calls him out when he's being too egocentric and selfish. Jason, in turn, calls Roy out when he lets The Horrors get to him too much and motivates him to work out and shower and deal with Life
Both of their brains move a hundred miles an hour, so neither of them mind it when the other isn't paying Full Attention to what they're saying. This also works because Roy has a tendency to forget mundane tasks while Jason forgets big events/plans, and they remind each other of stuff constantly
I also think Jason would be intimately familiar with addiction, even though his thing was alcohol and not drugs, and it would make Roy feel a little more settled about his heroin addiction (esp considering Catherine) that Jason knows how recovery works and is willing to support Roy in the right ways
Roy is also not naive, but he is a sucker and he's desperate for someone to stay in his life for once. Jason, obviously, does not, because he can't deal with Being Happy and has a tendency to think all the evil in the world is his fault, but he comes back because he's an asshole, and Roy does believe in second chances and he would love it if Jason loved him so much that he couldn't stand to stay away (Jason leaves again because he's an asshole)
I think that after that Roy would be willing to hold Jason at arms' length but wouldn't get back with him, especially after he finds out Lian is alive. Jason, for as much as Roy loves him, is not someone he would want around his daughter. Jason is only really able to think about himself so while he does respect Roy's decision, he doesn't really fully back off, and Roy understands Jason's psyche too much to fully shoo him away
Anyway yeah I think their relationship would be a lot more grim and a lot less "idiots in love" like most people seem to characterize them as. Both Roy and Jason understand their own inner workings and know what they crave in relationships. They aren't dumb or codependent, though maybe a little inter-depentent.

Once again, it is time for that rare moment where I talk about Deltarune instead of Sonic stuff. And today, I've decided to talk about one of the many mysteries of the setting.
Namely... what did Asgore DO?
One of the constants kept over from Undertale in Deltarune was the sad reality that Asgore is still divorced from Toriel, and their post-divorce relationship is... less than ideal, with Asgore desperately trying to get back into Toriel's good graces and Toriel being none-too-thrilled about it. And its pretty clear that whatever happened in the divorce, it's taken a pretty bad toll on Asgore. It's implied he doesn't have visitation rights, and no longer lives in the same house as Tori, instead living in his flower shop. And his present state of living is just... almost too depressing for words.
So yeah, things are not looking great for ol' Asgore. But that does beg the question- what happened THIS time? Recall that in Undertale, Toriel's hostility to Asgore was predicated on both him murdering six children as well as basically getting everyone's hopes up for who-knows-how-long rather than taking one soul and going straight to business after escaping the Underground. How justified she is is going to be the subject of endless debate, now and forever, but at the core of things in Undertale its pretty clear that this hostility comes from some VERY grim circumstances.
Given the more comparatively mundane nature of Hometown and the Light World, its pretty clear that whatever circumstances led to Toriel and Asgore divorcing couldn't be anywhere near as horrible as what happened in Undertale. There's no fantastic circumstance here- Monsters live on the surface as humans do (that we know of), and while Asgore is not exactly held in high regard by Hometown these days, he none the less leads a free, if somewhat depressing life.
So again, what happened here? Why is it that Asgore is still divorced?
As it stands, with everything else, we only got two chapters to go by, and as such we need to work with a LOT of contextual clues to try and piece together even a vague idea of how things reached this point.
And believe it or not, one the key bits of insight we have? Is none other than Rudy Holiday.
Rudy is established as having been friends with Toriel and Asgore in college, and is all but stated to have been Asgore's best man at their wedding, and even in the present is still close to the both of them even though they are no longer together. Out of all the people we talk to in Hometown, Rudy is the one with the most positive stuff to say about Asgore, and Asgore recipricates this by visiting Rudy in the hospital daily, with new flowers for each visit. And while we don't witness it for ourselves, it is revealed that Toriel ALSO visits Rudy and is implicitly close to him as well, with Rudy even suspecting that Kris' visit was done at Toriel's prompting (and sadly probably WOULD be if we weren't using them as a meat-puppet).
This might not seem like such a big deal, but I feel it reveals something very crucial about what might have happened, if only in the abstract. It tells me that whatever happened? While it was serious enough to prompt the divorce and cause Toriel to no longer love Asgore, it WASN'T bad enough that Rudy doesn't think ill of Asgore, or enough to cause Toriel to no longer wish to associate with Asgore or Rudy with her. He bears no malice to anyone in the Dreemurr family, and this is an important detail, because it would seem extremely improbable that things between the three of them would be this hunky-dory if Asgore really did do something legitimately terrible.
Which, admittedly, isn't impossible... but it does feel unlikely, under the circumstances we presently see.
Given the way Dark Worlds reflect something of Lightners, some have suggested that maybe the Card Kingdom just as easily reflects something of Kris as it does Susie. While King mirrors Susie's earlier statements, one cannot help but notice that King is an enormous, pseudo-mammalian king with a hefty build, almost like a warped mirror of Asgore. And that comparison becomes all the more concerning when you consider how, as we go on, its revealed that Kris was once a very mischievous little kid... one can imagine that, perhaps, Kris was very much like Lancer, once upon a time. And if that's the case, then maybe it’s not a coincidence that King threatened both Lancer AND Kris directly.
It's a tempting thought... and oh, the warped implications it would carry, given that in Chapter Two its revealed that King wasn't going to go through with his threat and actually CARES about Lancer, despite earlier evidence to the contrary? Now THAT would imply some ugly-ass things about Kris' thoughts and feelings about their father. Or Susie's, if you believe the Card Kingdom is primarily 'meant' for her. It does make an eerie amount of sense, does it not?
Only... not quite. It’s tempting to think Asgore might have done something to Kris in a moment of weakness, but honestly? I really, really doubt it. Because let's face it, if Asgore had hurt or done something out line with Kris? It's incredibly doubtful that Toriel would ever allow Kris to get anywhere NEAR Asgore, and Rudy likewise would probably have little to do with Asgore over something like that. Oh, sure, friends will stick with friends, but that feels like something not even Rudy could overlook. And then there's the whole 'Eggs-Husband' incident...
... God that was painful. Like, kudos to Toby Fox, I don't think I've EVER felt that kind of secondhand embarrassment from a piece of media ever. It really was just a masterpiece of utter and complete failure. Still, it's important in helping to frame where everyone stands in this divorce, because while Toriel does try to get away from Asgore as fast as possible after his disastrous attempt at punnery (and who could blame her?), she none the less is willing to hear him out when he wants to talk about Asriel's return (possibly about the divorce itself).
It's important to note that, again, context is key here. Earlier in Chapter 1 its established that Asgore keeps sending Toriel flowers, which inevitably wind up in the trash, and likewise she rebuffs his deeply ill-conceived attempt to re-connect with her at Sans' store. But from what we see so far, it may not necessarily be that Toriel hates Asgore, so much that he refuses to get a clue about where they stand and persists in these self-sabotaging attempts to curry her favor. While the problem might be rooted in whatever happened in the past, it’s pretty clear that a BIG part of that is due to Asgore's present behavior. How do we know this? Because she still hears him out when he ISN'T trying to get into her good graces.
I feel that if Asgore had done something to Kris, or done something REALLY bad? Then he wouldn't even get that much. As it stands we don't know enough to say for sure, and all we can do is look at how people act and try and come up with some idea of things, but I'm willing to bet that while Asgore made some kind of serious misstep? He didn't do something unforgivable... just something severe enough that it would justify Toriel leaving him, with his refusal to let go simply making things that much worse over time given that its clear Tori CAN be civil with him. He just makes it difficult due to his overbearing and embarassing behavior... again, we can only infer things, but I do feel like a large part of Toriel's hostility stems from Asgore's inability to back off more than anything else, even the events that caused the divorce.
I can of course, be wrong, about all of this. We have only two chapters and nothing else to go by. But there is one last piece of this puzzle that I think offers an even better insight into why things happened as they happened- the reveal that Asgore used to be the chief of Homedown's police department, and that he was made to step down under unknown circumstances, hence why Undyne, a rookie, is now Hometown's police chief. We don't know what happened yet, but whatever did happen? Kris doesn't like to read about it, keeping Us from seeing what happened. It could be because they don't want us prying into their family's business just in general, but there's also a really good chance that it may be simple guilt that keeps them from reading the rest of that article.
And from here, we can paint a pretty compelling picture of what may have happened. As we know, Dess Holiday, Rudy's oldest daughter and Asriel's childhood best friend, went missing under mysterious circumstances. Dess' mother is mayor of Hometown, and its strongly hinted that whatever happened, DEss is now trapped somewhere in the Dark World (or worse), and other hints seem to indicate that Kris might in fact be aware of this, and its hinted that this event may have occurred near the mysterious bunker in the forest that Kris is explicitly afraid of. More interestingly, schoolmates Snowy and Monster Kid seem to be aware of this fact as well, which brings some interesting implications of itself.
Either way, with these details we can imagine a very probable chain of events for how things went down- Kris and Dess did something or the other at the Bunker, which led to Dess possibly being whisked away to the Dark World. Asgore, as police chief, is tasked with finding Dess. His inability to find Dess leads to him being fired by her mother, the mayor, and this would probably lead to the personal troubles at home that would lead to him eventually being divorced from Toriel and living on his own. This seems to be the general consensus among fan-interpretations, and honestly? It seems pretty probable that this, or something like this, is how the divorce went down... and maybe why Kris is the way Kris is, in the present.
There is however an interesting little wrinkle in this formula, though out of everything I mentioned, this one is possibly the longest shot. Earlier in the game when we explore Asgore's store, we find a very terse note from his landlord telling him point blank that he has a month to pay the rent, even suggesting he start selling the flowers rather than giving them away. All that we know about this landlord is that their first initial is "C". So, where does the long shot come in? There is a possibility that "C" is none other than Mayor Holiday, Rudy's wife and Dess' mother, and previously Asgore's boss. What evidence do we have to suggest this? Mayor Holiday is described as being very good at her job while also not being great with people, and is evidently very driven and intimidating, so much so that Noelle is actively afraid of her. The way the note is written is not very formal, nor is it very sociable either... and there are more than a few Christmas related terms that start with "C". A lot of the fandom seems to have settled on "Carol".
Again, this could be a long shot, one built entirely by conjecture. But if this "C" is indeed mayor holiday? That's where the wrinkle comes in. Because if Mayor Holiday is willing to give Asgore a business and overlook past failures to pay the rent, then it may be that his leaving the force wasn't JUST because of his failing to find Dess... or rather, if Mayor Holiday had any part of it, it actually wasn't out of personal anger at him failing to find her daughter. If "C" is Mayor Holiday, then in this context it means that whatever (probably negative) feelings she has towards Asgore, they're not enough to stop her from trying to help him get back on his feet. You might argue that if she IS involved in his flower shop venture it might be more due to Rudy than her, but then if Rudy has this much sway over her, she wouldn't have fired Asgore for not being able to find Dess.
Granted, there's always the 'Dying Wish' factor, though we don't know how long Rudy's been sick...
But still- firing someone for a personal reason would be a VERY bad breach of ethics, and from what we've seen (or haven't) of the mayor so far is that whatever her personality flaws, she isn't actually corrupt or anything. Hometown is so peaceful and orderly that the police force isn't really regarded as necessary! Quite the accomplishment... and firing Asgore for personally failing her would be the kind of conflict of interest that could jeopardize those accomplishments, understandable as it might be in this instance.
So, what would this imply for Asgore and his leaving the force? I believe that while Dess vanishing was the catalyst for everything, it wasn't the direct cause of Asgore losing everything. I imagine that failing to find Dess for an undetermined amount of time weighed heavily on Asgore, given that this is his best friend's daughter, a daughter who is the best friend of Asriel at that.
My hypothesis, as such? Is that Asgore's failing to find Dess slowly ate away at him, and that this caused things at home to get tense, before his eventual desperation led him to do something he shouldn't have, thus leading to him being removed from the force, and leading to further troubles at home, culminating in him saying or doing SOMETHING that led Toriel to divorce him.
I don't have any authority to definitively suggest what it might have been. But I DO feel confident that if Dess' disappearance had anything to do with Asgore's dismissal from the force? It wasn't as simple as the mayor being angry with him and removing him due to that anger, but because of something Asgore himself did in reaction to his own failure at finding Dess, and that this in turn led to whatever would happen to cause his divorce from Toriel. I believe this, because while Asgore has fallen on very hard times, the worst of what he's going through is due to his own poor choices that we can see, and however pitiful his current state, he isn't alienated/exiled from the people in his life. And if he had done something REALLY bad? I don't think that would be the case.
Of course, I can be wrong. Heck, I probably am. We only got two games to go by, and as such virtually everything I say is ultimately just conjecture, some a bit more supported by game text, and some less. But whatever the reality is? I'm VERY confident that Asgore didn't do anything evil... but it was still enough to cost him everything. Given the themes going on in the light world, it'd make sense that rather than anything big or dramatic, the truth just turned out to be something simple, unglamorous, and quietly sad.
Just like in real life, a lot of the time.

"How strange it is to be anything at all"
The ship groaned like a lumbering beast as its sails filled with wind, the decks shuddered as they struggled to make speed with the new cargo loaded inside. Gulls cawed as the largest source of food began to sail away, and dolphins playfully jumped ahead of the prow, racing each other and playing games with the wooden vessel as it cut through the water.
An elf stood on the vessel's port side, still as the pale blue sky above them. Their shock of dark red hair tousled in the wind, sometimes displaying the misshapen and bent right ear they preferred to keep hidden however possible. Their breaths were quiet and reserved, their face a mask of grimness as they tried to ignore the beauty and freedom around them. The score now deep inside the ship would earn the entire crew enough coin to last for six months, provided they didn't blow their entire share on the evening's celebrations once they got back to port. This was a GOOD day.
It SHOULD be a good day.
But it didn't feel like it.
They took in a breath as they clutched a piece of parchment in their hand. A name had been written on the crumpled paper: Ayden.
"So this is it, huh? Finally ready to say goodbye to Ayden?" A voice approached the elf from the starboard side. They looked to see who it was. Viv, she called herself. Pure-blood Riviaini going back as far as her ancestors cared to count. She even spun a tale of being distantly related to the kingdom's oldest matriarchs, but twice removed and far from being recorded in any official family trees.
The elf nodded and shut their eyes as their fist curled around the paper. They should have been celebrating with Viv and the others, not standing over the edge of the ship as if they wanted to throw themselves into the water.
Viv slumped on the rail next to the elf and gave their shoulder a nudge. "If it helps, I always thought Ayden was a bit of an asshole. You're better off saying goodbye."
"Yeah, well, he was dealing with a lot. I'm trying not to be too mad at him." the elf sighed.
All they had to do was throw the paper overboard. It was a... tradition, not quite a ritual, among the Lords of Fortune. A life of treasure hunting at sea often made deep connections between people fleeting. Death, arrested, sometimes literally lost to the depths. You rarely had a body to bury, or even belongings to remember. But someone in the past had started writing names on those lost on paper, and tossing them into the water. Symbolically letting them go, without having to go through the hassle of big funerals or haggling over inheriting their stuff.
"How long's it been?" Viv asked, her voice softening as she saw the elf's concern, and their hand tighten on the paper.
"I don't know. Sometimes it feels like just yesterday, other times, it's like he was never really here."
Viv reached out and put her hand on the elf's shoulder, and felt the tremble in their muscles. "You don't... have to. Let go like this, I mean. Nobody would think any different. You just have to say the word and it's like Ayden was never here."
"But he was. And he should know that... at least somehow, he's not totally forgotten. Creators know his family's not gonna care."
"Fuck those shit-slinging farmers." Viv barked. "From what you told me, they don't deserve a second's thought from you."
"Yeah... you're right. This isn't about them. It's about me." The elf slunk their shoulder away from Viv's encouraging support and reached their hand out. The paper wafted out of their hand. It hadn't been tied to a stone or weighed down, so it fluttered in the gentle wind before settling onto the water's surface. For the briefest moment, the paper unfurled as it took on water, and the elf saw the name Ayden one last time before it sunk to the depths.
The two of them stood for a moment longer, hearing nothing but the receding calls of the gulls and the crash of the ship on the waves.
"So..." Viv started, probably unable to handle a moment more of dreary silence. "I saw you devouring those old books for a while now. You find anything yet? Something that suits you?"
"I think... Nerio." The elf who was once called Ayden said. "It means water. In old Tevene, I mean."
Viv shrugged and gave Nerio a lopsided smile. "Not much of an upgrade. Still, I won't lie, it's a bit sad to see Ayden leave the crew."
She paused as Nerio's eyes widened and their heart spiked in their chest. But the laugh she gave next calmed them.
"But I will be happy to introduce Nerio to everyone for the first time."

If the 500 followers event is still open, would be alright to ask for prompt 15 with Ortho? Platonic obviously! I just think the robot boy deserves some more love. Thanks! <3
15. Formal balls weren't a thing in your world so you have been hiding in this strategically chosen corner to avoiding having to step on anyone's toes. Unfortunately someone really, really, REALLY, wants to dance with you and has managed to track you down AGAIN.
I was surprised to get Ortho requests this event since I haven't exactly written anything specifically dedicated to him but he is such a good character. He deserves all the love and friendship in the world, and this prompt suits him well given how he acts with Idia.
notes: they/them used for Yuu, Ortho is meant to be post Ch. 6, Yuu is sort of an introvert and a bit self depreciating, that's ok Ortho is here to give some encouragement! The other event requests can be found on my masterlist here.
This had been a mistake.
As much as you liked looking out on the fantastic scenery in front of you, it is all extremely overwhelming. Almost like it's wasted on you, the magical scenery is simultaneously completely comprehensible and extremely unnatural. You've seen pictures of Masquerade balls, seen them used in anime, listened to songs, and thought long and hard about just what it was you would do if you ever magically got invited to one. And now that you actually have been you are faced with the grim reality that no, just because everyone is wearing a mask that doesn't mean that you will suddenly overcome your distaste for crowds or figure out how to dance.
"Yuu!" Now if only you could make a certain someone agree. "There you are! You're getting better at this hiding thing." Ortho floats to keep himself at eye level with you, cheeky toothy smile freed for the special occasion.
"Really?" You groan, maybe you can bargain your way out of this one.
"Ha ha no." Ortho laughs, moving to cut you off from your exit and repeats the same question that's been haunting you all night. "Please dance with me Prefect! It'll be a bunch of fun."
"Don't wanna." You huff in an all too familiar way to Ortho, but he is surprised to find himself at a bit of a loss. Idia is Idia, and you are Yuu, his data is lacking on what to suggest to get you to agree to his request. It's a bit exciting actually, like playing an RPG blind and still trying to get a good end with your favorite companion.
[Ortho: Persuasion] "But I really want to dance with you, Prefect." He makes sure to sag his joints just enough to invoke sympathy without seeming like he is about to throw a tantrum. It seems to sort of work, but not in the way he really wants it to. You just look like you feel horrible for disappointing him and uncomfortable.
"I'm really sorry Ortho." you try to keep your breathing steady, flustered between seriously considering his request (there's no pressure if you are just dancing with a friend, right?) and still trying to plan your out. "But I am just not good at formal stuff like this at all, we don't have big parties like this in my world anymore. And even when there were dances in my world it's not like I ever got invites to any of them." Maybe that's the real reason you don't want to go out onto the floor, not that you can't dance. Deuce certainly isn't able to do things properly no matter how hard he is trying, and Ace is not even doing that. But you still don't quite feel like you... belong here, not after how big of a deal Crowley made out of your invitation being something he was "obliged" to give. "And I don't even know how to dance! I'll just step on everyone's feet and make things awkward."
"Hm, well then that's all the more reason for you to dance with me!" Ortho is... laughing? Not in a mean spirited way, but kindly. It's a soothing tone somehow, and as he mock bows you don't feel like he is intending on making you the butt of a joke at all. "I don't have any toes for you to step on, and if anyone you are uncomfortable with tries to make you dance I can just blow them up with my lasers."
"Uh maybe don't do that?" You gingerly take his hand and let the floating boy spin you around in a dance that's more similar to two children on a playground than a proper ballroom sway, but between just how happy he is and how quickly your other friends join in you cannot bring yourself to remain embarrassed for long.
"That's right prefect," Ortho whispers when he notices you have finally calmed down, "you aren't in your world anymore. And sometimes that probably sucks but tonight? It means that you are very much invited to the ball. Awesome right?!" He means that last bit about himself as much as he does you, you suppose but that doesn't make it any less true. Tonight, you are very much exactly welcome and where everyone wants you to be.
#twisted wonderland x reader#twst x reader#ortho shroud#twst yuu#500 followers celebration#i think ortho would pack bond with introvert yuu really fast#“oh i have one of these already!”#“i know exactly what to do!”#like they're a pokemon card or something#anyway idk if this was any good it's kinda short too but i promise i love ortho so much ;-;

Walking on Glass
And I do solemnly swear that this is the last set of new trolls I make for a long while.
So what’s the Colmea guy’s deal, anyway? [doc]
-- “Now you’ve really done it.” The child, and she can’t be more than five sweeps old, smiles around a juicebox from her perch. “He’s not going to be happy about this one little bit.” Her warning fills you with just enough dread that it roots you in place.
The he in question is, for the short time that you’ve known each other, very particular of the fungal colonies that throng throughout the lab like a great big web. Some of them in larger terrariums cobbled together and the others in their much smaller quarantines. He was more protective of these small quarantined batches than he was of anything else, even the aquarium that sits nearly ceiling to floor and across the back wall of the lab, housing a handful of species of jellyfish, with the largest, and need for such ample volume, being his overgrown lusus. Nemopilema nomurai, he once whispered into your ear when he caught you staring at her.
She is quite the daunting thing, with what must be a ten or fifteen-foot diameter and countless feet of long sprawling tentacles, tendrils, and tangles of some sort of marine fungus weaving around and within them. He never offered a scientific name or approximate for it, and to be fair, you never asked.
Conversations with the man always centered around his research, his precious colonies, that you’d been helping him with. The science he always mumbled, mostly to himself, was difficult to parse on a good day, on a bad day he stopped pretending to try altogether.
Your role, as far as he was concerned, as far as you understood, was only a very small part.
A collective consciousness. The only colony that survived the interaction with your mutation to the point that you started to become one. Once again, the science of it all was lost on you, something about parasitic symbiosis or some other, but the piece of it he’d gotten into you somehow took root and you’d found yourself actually talking to it.
Making decisions with it.
It was only natural you’d want to get a closer and better look at it, right?
“It was a mistake.” Is all you can manage, staring at the ground that almost glitters with the way the ambient lights of the tanks shine off of the glass of one of the smaller, now shattered, terrariums that litters the floor. Many of the stray shards lance through the colony in places that look fatal even to the untrained eye.
“It was a mistake.” She mimics, not quite getting the cadence right, but the road work is there, so there’s maybe a future in ventriloquism for the kid. “I think he’s gonna feed you to Big Mama.” She indicates the tank with the massive jellyfish in it, punctuating the thought with the insufferable sound a straw makes when it reaches the end of a drink.
Colmea couldn’t be that unreasonable, could he?
As if summoned, and you don’t think she sent for him, the door opens as soon as the fear creeps up on you.
There is a severe way that the doctor has about carrying himself, a stern expression attached to whatever it is he lets his gaze fall on. Right now that is solidly on you. The gravity of the situation and the weight of the girl’s words leave you incapable of removing yourself from the scene of the crime, after all. You’d only reached a harmless hand in to touch it, how could you predict this outcome?
“It was a mistake.” You whisper desperately as he fully enters the room, the picture of serenity, taking in the scene before him. He does not regard you or what you’ve had to say for yourself.
Even if the colony was not sliced through as it was, the abrupt displacement from its aquatic habitat would have done enough on its own to paint a grim scene, splattered across the floor like an abstract painting. He surveys the damage quietly, a ponderous god, visage poisoned by the blue and pink glow of the lights within neighboring tanks. Now his gaze flits about from shard of glass to shard of glass, as though looking for answers in the mosaic they make up on the floor.
Everything in the lab has become remarkably still, even the girl in the corner has ceased vacuuming the bottom of the juice box in favor of savoring the silence that smothers the room, deafening even over the bubbling of the surrounding tanks.
Colmea does not rush in, ready to collapse to the floor and mourn the loss of his experiment, instead he is carried further into the room by slow and deliberate steps, each one a soft tap against linoleum that crushes the glass beneath it. The answers to questions that he does not bother voicing slotting into his mind as he advances, and if those answers change any part of his expression, which you suspect it doesn’t, it goes unnoticed when his contemplative steps take him into the shadow of his colossal lusus.
Far too long passes before he is standing directly in front of you. Very briefly, a crack in his veneer provides a view into the ever-feared high blood rage bubbling beneath the surface.
“Myriad,” he addresses the girl, still up on her perch by the edge of the jellyfish enclosure. “The colony?”
Myriad makes a face like she is seriously concentrating, an expression you’ve come to understand means she is reaching into her mind to find her natural connection to the fungal colonies that surround her. Not as a member of the collective, but as an eavesdropper. Her game goes on for too long and it is clear that she is only playing up the dramatics, reveling in your dread, when the pensive god clears his throat.
“Dead as a doornail!” She reports, cheery as she was when she delivered her taunts moments before his arrival. It should hurt, but you already knew. You felt it, a part of you, die the second the tank hit the floor. “No survivors, wiped out!”
The ghost of something horrific crosses behind his eyes.
He nods.
His demeanor does not betray him and there is no warning when he strikes, just the stinging feeling left behind by a backhand that causes you to lose your balance. With a hideous crunch, your knees fall into the ruin below, the salty remnants from the enclosure mingles with the fresh wounds and sends a significant shock through your system. So significant in fact, that you make neither a move nor a sound.
Colmea shakes his hand loose, the anger that boils just beneath but never quite breaking the surface places a dangerous dose of malice behind his eyes.
“Myriad, find me a broom.” He commands, and as soon as it leaves his mouth, her feet hit the ground right behind you with a crunch that makes you wince. A stifled giggle followed by her plodding along tells you it was an intentional assault on her part.
His hand is wrapped up in your hair before the door closes behind her and he lifts you up to meet his eye line, all the while winding more and more of it up until he finds scalp, as though he is handling something that weighs about the same as a stuffed animal.
There is no growling, no deep orange eyes signaling danger, just a furrowed brow and a deep sigh. “I had such high hopes for you.”
“I,” you start to plead your case, tears welling at the corners of your eyes at the realization that your mutation did not make you special enough, but he does not give you the opportunity to continue. Instead, your face is acquainted with the glass of the aquarium with such force that it rattles the base of the enclosure and causes some of the smaller species of jellies inside to send off bright sparks of light, in hopes of startling whatever predator they assume has invaded.
All they really succeed in is disorienting you all the more, your face making contact a second and third time before stars start to decorate your vision and the edges begin to blur. Something cracks, and it is not the glass.
Still, the angered god does not growl or snarl. Nor does his reflection, warped by a myriad of things between the forming concussion and the glass of the aquarium, broadcast anything beyond his mild indifference.
Your face hits the glass a few more times before the girl returns from her quest and he finally relents, dropping you to the floor with a sigh. In the same moment, the stars in your vision become angry black splotches, eagerly rushing out to meet those blurred edges.

Twst Fanevent - Fallen Stars Book 1 ☆ Chapter 1
Mission: Collect all five wishes - Rewards: Magical Keys x 5
Chapter 1 - Be careful what you wish for?
Warning - GN!Yuu ( They/Them prns )
[ Announcement ]
When Yuu awoke that day, before their beloved monster companion, the last thing they expected was to see Grim sleeping in. Yes, it may seem normal, but it was not the normal type of sleeping in.
This type of sleeping in was carefree, completely unbothered, not a worry in the world. As if they both didn't have a school they needed to go to and classes to attend, both starting in about five minutes. Sure, cats were typically lazy and Grim was no exception, but waking up last and without the urgency to get to class was certainly something.
But it wasn't unusual for how he had been acting for the past few days. It was starting to get concerning.
- Choice one: Wake him up ☆ "Come on Mister mastermind, we have to get to great mage training."
- Choice two: Let him sleep for a little bit more ☆ "Only three more minutes Grim, but you won't have time to pretty up your bow..."
- Choice three: Do nothing ☆ "He'll wake up on his own, maybe he needs a break."
Grim eventually awakes with a soft mrp as he opens his eyes.
Grim: Nya? Why're you in such a rush henchmen? It's all no good if you don't get enough sleep y'know.
Yuu chuckles and shakes their head, fixing up their own outfit as they eye the clock.
Shrimp: We've got school? Did you dream that we don't have responsibilities or something?
Grim: Grr, what's one day off school? Let's just skip! It's only a few classes...
Shrump: Huh?? What about being the greatest mage alive in any world?
Grim: That's a reeeeal big goal y'know. You'd have to work hard for something like that, 'specially with Crowley and Mr. Horn guy.
Yuu' attention turns to the monster in full, now with curiosity and concern in their tone.
- Choice one: Concern ☆ "Grim that's your goal, it's all you've been talking about since we got here. Oh crap we're gonna be late!"
- Choice two: Shake it off ☆ "Okay, starting off the day with weird, no problem. Let's go to class."
Grim shrugs with a wide yawn, finally dragging himself up and out of his wonderfully warm bed. He doesn't have his usual go to attitude or gusto for the day, but at least he won't get in trouble for an absence.
Grim gets his bow on. It's a little bit sloppy, but he seems happy with it. As you both head towards the entrance to Ramshackle you notice the three grinning ghosts giving you both a look of curiosity. Curiosity that seemed mixed with confusion, but they gave you a happy wave
GGG 1: Have a good day in school!
GGG 2: Try not to cause too much chaos!
Yuu: It hasn't been my fault!
[ Main Street ]
Walking through the pathways of NRC, one thing was very apparent. Not a single student in the school was acting their brand of normal. The NRC students were acting laid back and content while the RSA students lacked their over enthusiasm and constant whimsical joy.
While on their walk with Grim upon their head, they happened upon Ace and Deuce. Their age-old partners in crime from the very beginning, the ride or dies, the ones who are currently getting along just fine with zero over enthusiasm about anything.
Shrimple: ...So something happened. The question is what.
Yuu stopped to listen to their conversation, maybe they were both just tired. Or perhaps they got hit with a curse that took away all of their energy and that was the Problem of the Week.
Ace: So what did you get on that test yesterday?
Deuce: A 73/86, could've been better.
Ace: Eh? It ain't that bad, good enough to pass.
Deuce: Yeah, what'd you get?
Ace: A 76/86 I think.
Deuce: You did better than me, nice.
Ace: Not really that big of a deal, the test was easy. I don't care that much about placing anyway as long as it passes. Other than that, I don't exactly give a damn.
Deuce: That's fair enough I guess. Brash, but fair...
The conversation drifted off as the two walked away, waving to Yuu over their shoulders as they passed. Not that it helped, the shiver that crawled up their spine was still there. That was one of the weirdest things they had seen all day.
Grim and Ace not caring about being the best mage, Deuce not wanting to be the best of the best for his mom... it was unsettling. Peaceful, Yuu would admit, but still unsettling in a strange way.
Even more unsettling was the sudden tap on their shoulder, which seemed to be delivered by a desperate looking Crowley. In fact, he looks more frazzled than normal.
Crowley: Yuu! There you are! I've been looking for you everywhere, it's like you're avoiding me. But you wouldn't be, surely, you wouldn't be that rude to someone who has been so kind and gracious.
- Choice one: Be Blunt ☆ "Actually, I would."
- Choice two: Be Blunt Ever Blunter ☆ "Actually I would. ...Is what I would say, but I won't, mostly for my own sake."
- Choice three: Still Be Blunt ☆ "Actually, I was on my way to class."
- Choice four: Still Be Blunt Ever Blunter ☆ "Actually, I was on my way to class. But now that you've stopped me and something is clearly wrong, what happened?"
Crowley: Of course you wouldn't, for I am ever nice and generous. But it's good to see that your observational skills haven't faded! Those are always needed in wonderland. I'm sure you've noticed that something seems to have happened to the students currently residing in the school.
Shrumkly: I sure have. So what now?
Grim: Let me guess, we have to solve it. Honestly, we should be getting paid as staff! Preferably in tuna, like you promised.
Crowley: With the Banquet of Dreams coming up I can't have the students in this state! All of the other headmages would blame me and never let me live it down... You have to come with me to the mirror hall. I'm afraid it's not just the students being affected.
Yuu watched the headmage turn on his heel and walk off towards the main building, never even looking back to see if he was actually being followed. Meaning, as they knew, they had to be the one to help the school.
Grim turned to Yuu with his own confused, but exasperated, frown. The monster's flaming ears even began to grow ever so slightly, likely annoyed at his day getting interrupted, even if he was originally going to skip. So that didn't exactly change.
Yuu glanced around Main Street as they followed, watching students going about their overly normal day.
Maybe they should've wished for an overly normal day.
[ Hall of Mirrors ]
When Crowley said that the Hall of Mirrors had been effected, the last thing Yuu thought they would see was the mirrors leading to an entirely different place. There also seemed to be an entirely new mirror, one that appeared right between Diasomnia and Heartslabyul, taking the place as the middle mirror.
The new mirror had a star where a dorm badge would normally be, a broken and fractured star that was missing all of its points. The mirror itself, stone creating an image that Yuu couldn't place, was broken. There was no portal and no glass, just an empty space where something would normally lead.
The other mirrors weren't exactly normal either. All of them had changed to match their dorm's signature color and the stone around them was much more animated than Yuu last remembered.
Grim: NYA?!?! WHAT HAPPENED HERE?!
???: You didn't explain what happened?
Crowley: I was going to when they got here!
Yuu turned to see the headmage and the vice headmage gave each other a stare before the vice headmage rolled his eyes with a sigh. He turned to Yuu and Grim with a small bow of his head and gave them a polite smile. Despite that, Yuu could tell that even he was just as frazzled as Crowley was.
Mr. Majesty: Yuu, Grim. My apologies for this interference for your day, but it would appear that this situation truly calls for your help.
- Choice one: Dismiss It ☆ "It's fine, me and Grim are used to this by now. What's up?"
- Choice two: Joke About It ☆ "This school always needs my help one way or another. So what's up?"
- Choice three: Be Straightforward ☆ "What happened here?"
Mr. Majesty stood up straight and gestured to the mirrors with his staff. Yuu sees that the star on his staff is just as broken as the one above the new mirror.
Mr. Majesty: We ourselves are not entirely sure what happened, but we're sure that it has to do with that flash of light that hit this school just a few days ago. Somebody seems to have made a wish of some sort, one that required a lot of mana. But what this has to do with the mirrors, we're unsure.
Mr. Majesty: What we currently know is that all of the students seemed to have lost their desire and drive. And it could be that loss of drive that is affecting this world.
Mr. Majesty: The mirrors no longer lead to the dorms, but something is stopping anyone except for members of the dorms from going in. Which is why... we need your help. I can't enter the mirrors.
Crowley: And I have to make sure that nothing else happens to NRC while Ambrose tends to the mirrors.
Mr. Majesty: It's Majesty.
Crowley seems to ignore Mr. Majesty's scolding and instead chooses to continue addressing Yuu and Grim with a sure nod of his head.
Crowley: However, because you are not from this world, you can come and go through the portals as you please! When you go through, you must report what you see on the other side when you come back.
Mr. Majesty: You and Grim won't be alone, however. I've assigned two second years to lend you a hand, they specifically come from where we believe the mirrors lead.
Grim: And where's that?!
Crowley: The original stories of wonderland.
- Choice one: Great Seven Question ☆ "So we might run into the Great Seven? These are their stories!"
- Choice two: Safety Question ☆ "Are you even sure that's safe? You know what happens in the original stories."
- Choice three: Don't Question It ☆ "So who's helping us then?"
Crowley, as gracious as he is, chooses to ignore Yuu's and Grim's expression in favor of addressing the true problem at hand. Wasting time. As Crowley goes to speak, two shadows begin to loom over Yuu right before they feel their hands get grabbed.
Their arms are tugged into a crossed position as two people, clearly from Heartslabyul if the gems are anything to go by, jump up and down as they shake their hands. A hand shake that Yuu was pretty sure was the reason they felt a small shock go up one of their arms.
???: How do you do and shake hands, shake hands, shake hands! How do you do and shake hands, state your names and business!
Two nearly identical people stepped into view. Both had mocha skin, red and green hair ( although they had different patterns ), red and green eyes, wore large round glasses, and had a large gray Frankenstein scar covering a third of their face.
The only difference was one had sprinkles in their hair and face, their glasses were silver, and they wore a golden bell on their neck. The other had glittering freckles, golden glasses, and a silver bell.
Royo: I'm Royo!
Yoro: And I'm Yoro!
Royo and Yoro: And we're so excited to help you out on this funny little adventure!
Behind the two, the Heartslabyul mirror seemed to glow and pulse with a black, red, and white light that swirled and shifted. The vision of a crown drowning in jewelry and heart gems sitting atop a head flashed in the reflection for a moment before disappearing in the blink of an eye.
OC list: Ambrose / Mr. Majesty, Royo, Yoro
Ambrose attendance list: @writing-heiress , @tisafinedayforsimping , @ice-cweam-sod4 , @lorkai , @queen-of-ramshackle
( Mr. Majesty: If you want to be added to the attendance list, you'll have to ask the front desk. )

Dungeon Meshi Chapter 3
I thought of mentioning how the meals from the first two chapters were low in energy and fat and that would cause a problem, but this chapter goes and addresses that.
I really love how this series is focusing on the logistics of adventuring. I think Lord of the Rings is the only other story I've ever read, watched, or played where we're explicitly shown that mundane items like cooking pots and eating utensils are part of the adventurers' inventory.
The fact that everyone is carrying a backpack is putting more thought into logistics than the average story.
It's interesting how our dreams can interpret real-world information while we're sleeping. Marcille was having nightmares from the previous chapter and then she smells food cooking. So her brain interpreted the distress generated from her nightmares and the smell of food and jumped to the very recent association she's been dealing with of eating horrifying-looking meals.
Oh wow. I just noticed how worn out Senshi's axe is.
That thing definitely doesn't cleave as well as it used to. Meanwhile his cooking utensils look brand new. Definitely shows what his priorities are.
So this chapter is about basilisks. I'm curious if they have the general sexual dimorphism that chickens have. The one in this chapter is definitely a rooster.
And basilisk eggs seem to be more similar to sname eggs than chicken eggs based on how Marcille said they feel soft. Now I want to know what a basilisk chick looks like. Is it a big puffball like most chicks and has a little snake sticking out of its butt?
I've had to deal with aggressive roosters before and this is exactly how they act when they attack with their spurs.
The chicken half looks like it sees Laios as a rival male. Meanwhile the snake half looks like it sees him as a threat.
Senshi has a really bad sense of priority here. There's a guy dying from poison and Senshi doesn't want to give him the antidote because he'd rather use it for cooking, and he doesn't think he should cook the basilisk right now cause it's not lunch time, and he'd like to let the basilisk marinate overnight cause it will taste better.
I can't tell if he just doesn't care about the guy dying from poison or he doesn't comprehend that the guy will die if they don't do something soon or if he's just too much of a perfectionist who refuses to offer anything unless it tastes as good as possible.
I think Laios and Chilchuck realized they're being just as nonchalant about the situation as Senshi is.
A glimpse at the kinds of status ailments we might encounter on this adventure.
More bits of me talking about Marcille's right-handedness. She grabbed that basilisk drumstick with her right hand, but put it in her left hand so she could express how good it tasted. Then she raised the drumstick when she offered to heal the guy probably because she was holding it in her right hand and just instinctively thought that was the hand holding her staff.
She muttered that she's not very good when she offered to heal the guy. And last chapter, Laios recommended against Marcille resurrecting the guy they found because it might go wrong. So yeah, she's a black mage, not a red mage.
If this series doesn't end with monster cuisine being a skill that adventurers practice, I'm going to be so mad.
What a grim note to end the chapter on. Laios's team helped out that adventure team only for them to be completely wiped by the man-eating plants. If corpse retrieval and resurrection services weren't already an established thing, that would not be funny at all.

hello! I was just wondering, do you have any advice for getting so many gems in Twst? Also thank you for your wonderful art, I enjoy looking forward to see what you draw next :D
Buy them
Just kidding! I've only made one purchase for TWST. It was less than $10 and was way back in the beginning for some kind of deal or something.
My 16k gem stash is the product of two years of grinding and selective pulls. I really wish I could say I had some kind of hack but that's really it. I'll talk about how I approach spending resources in the game, though, if anyone finds that useful.
As per usual, I ramble so it'll be under the cut!
1. Pick a favorite character
HEAR ME OUT I KNOW ITS HARD BECAUSE ALL THE CHARACTERS ARE GREAT! But it helps a lot if you're limiting who you're willing to pull for instead of every pretty card that comes out.
Personally, Riddle is my favorite (+ Grim but he's not really a concern card wise) so I'm committed to getting all of his cards. I'd really hate if I couldn't get one of his cards that I really want because I spent my keys / gems on a card that I only kind of wanted. So that's something to think about if it helps keep things in perspective.
All my Riddles!! (I definitely don't have a favorite Riddle shhh)
For example, I absolutely love Ortho's Fairy Gala card. I think it's one of the prettiest in the game! But I didn't pull for it because Ortho isn't a favorite character of mine.
It works the opposite, too. Kalim, Vil, and Ruggie are among my favorites but I've passed on a lot of their cards for one reason or another. I passed on Tsum Kalim because I didn't like the groovy, I passed on Silk Adorned Vil because I didn't like that it didn't have an attached vignette, and I passed on Camp Vargas Ruggie because I didn't like the event itself. While I really love these characters, I'm picky about which ones I'll pull so I don't miss out on a better one later.
For characters that I like quite a bit (top 5 ish), I'll use their free ten set you get on their birthday to try and pull for them. If I don't get them within those ten pulls, I accept it and move on.
I also want to say that this method has allowed to me to get pretty much every card that I've actually wanted. I can even pull for characters that aren't among my favorites (e.g. Idia who has THE BEST SSRS FOR SOME REASON??) and still have a big gem safety net.
I don't pull super often, I don't think, but I've gotten everything I've wanted so I think it's a fair trade-off.
Given my gem stash, you might be able to get away with collecting for a dorm but it'd have to be one of the tiny ones (Scarabia would be excellent because Jamil has almost no SSRs rip)
2. Plan ahead of time using JP TWST events
One of the biggest advantages of JP TWST releasing events way before Eng TWST is that we know what's coming ahead of time so we can plan accordingly. Obviously, this won't work if you're trying to save gems on the Japanese server.
You'll have to be okay with spoilers for the English server, too. At least enough to know if a character you like is in the event. I like to look at the card art and groovies, personally, as those will influence my decision if I'm on the fence.
SPOILERS FOR JP TWST EVENTS
I know which cards that I need to save for in the future:
Riddle’s Swimear SR
Ruggie’s Clubwear SSR
Rollo's SSR (pending available keys)
Riddle's Bloomquet SSR
Vil's Luxe Couture SSR
Vil and Malleus's Tsum SSR (pending groovies)
While we don't have a definitive schedule for a lot of these, a lot of them you can kind of guess.
For example, Riddle's Swimwear SR is part of Stitch's event which seems pretty summer-y to me. It'll likely come out in June or July of this year. Clubwear cards come relatively quickly so I'm anticipating Ruggie's Clubwear SSR fairly soon, too. Gotta make sure I'm saving right now for those bad boys.
Rollo and Riddle will probably come around the same time (Aug-Nov) so I've got a bit of time to build up my collection of keys again.
The others just got released in Japan so they'll take awhile before they reach us and I'm not too worried about them just yet.
SPOILERS DONE!
I think of it like going to the grocery store with a shopping list. Stick to the list and you know you can't overspend!
3. Don't pull for dorm cards
"That's easy for you to say, Cheekin. Riddle is your favorite character and you can get his dorm card for free at the beginning of the game!!"
Why, yes. Yes, you can. Thanks, Riddle!
(Ngl I might've caved and done it for Riddle but ONLY Riddle because he's my fave :D)
Now that all of the dorm uniforms have been released, dorm showcases aren't really a thing but in the event that they do a re-run I would avoid spending keys / gems on them. Same goes for the standard show case. Neither are worth it, IMO.
Dorm uniform cards will always be in the SSR pool regardless of the event, so I think it's better to just take your chances and collect them slowly overtime. Of course, the odds of getting the one you want aren't super high but you'll amass quite a few dorm cards just by pulling for event cards anyways. You're bound to get one you like eventually.
For reference, I've gotten Dorm Idia, Ortho, Vil, Jamil THREE TIMES, Kalim, Azul, Ruggie, Jack, Trey TWICE and Deuce TWICE as a byproduct of pulling for event cards. I wasn't trying to get them but they're here now and I love them for it <3

And that's about it! Nothing too groundbreaking. The biggest thing is knowing when to stop. Sometimes when I'm on that gacha grind high and I want to pull just cause it's been awhile since I've gotten an SSR, I'll tell myself to do it later because 99% of the time I'll just forget and it'll never happen!
I have been burned by too many gacha games in the past that I refuse to let it happen to me again in TWST (cough Obey Me COUGH)
Here are all my SSRs so you can judge for yourself how effective it is. (Or if its worth it)
I genuinely have no clue what the average number of SSR's a player who has been playing for over 2 years like me has, but I'm comfortable with what I've got. I've gotten all the cards I've wanted and most of the cards I was interested in so I think it's worth it.
tldr: be selective about your pulling, plan ahead, and resist the urge to pull constantly
Thank you for your kind words about my art!! (And if anyone got to the end of all this WORD VOMIT thanks for listening! Reading. Whatever.)
#hoarding resources in game is also a habit of mine for literally any game i play#i get super anxious when i have a low amount of anything important because i'll be like “what if i need it?”#and the next thing i know its game over and ive got like 50 million gold coins and 300 health potions that i never used#very wordy advice yw#thanks for the ask!#twisted wonderland#twst#cheekinrambles
