ok im gonna rant. it was really interesting for me to learn today that the 1993 so called "peace" efforts oslo accords between israels then-prime minister yitzhak rabin and the PLO did not actually aim at a sovereign palestinian state, like the contract would've expected the PLO to fully recognize israel, however in return, all israel offered was to accept the PLO as the representative for the palestinian people, but not actually a full-on independent palestinian state. in 1994 rabin signed the gaza-jericho-agreement which would only give the PLO limited self-rule over certain parts of the west bank and gaza, those certain parts being designated by israel. some israeli settlements would've stayed intact in parts of gaza and the west bank, too even though it's not even a secret fact that the occupation of the west bank, gaza and the golan heights - latter belong to syria actually - since 1967 does not abide by international law, not then and still not now (and yeah some people say but gaza is not occupied today well they are still being controlled and extremely limited by a state they technically aren't a part of so what is then)... the interim accord signed in september 1995 (2 months before rabin was shot by a rightwing radical israeli jew bc of his "peace" efforts with the PLO, btw netanyahu also held several hate rallies against rabin and called him a traitor for it and rabins widow co-blamed bibi for her husbands assassination) aimed at dividing the west bank into specific areas A, B, and C with only area A giving exclusive control to a palestinian authority, without israeli settlements, but it would've only made up 18% of the west bank, and area B would've still been under co-control with israel while area C would've continued to stay under israeli occupation including settlements and total control, that area C alone making up a whopping 61% of the entire west bank. that area also includes almost all natural reserves of that piece of land, including forests and many wells and springs. those remaining palestinian residents in area C could not and still cannot build a house without a permit and applications are expensive and almost always still get denied which is why they have built and still build houses "illegally" (as in illegal under israeli law) which results in that ever present demolition of palestinian houses through the israeli army there. also in 2000 israel then put in order the right to enter into area A for "operational needs" meaning they again effectively control all the west bank including areas under what was supposed to be palestinian authority. honestly i now fully understand why hamas were against the oslo accords because they would've not even been the bare minimum. i think it's wrong to say they have "always been against peace" because THAT would certainly not have brought justice and peace long-term. so literally what former black panther kwame ture said: "“there’s a difference between peace and liberation, is there not? you can have injustice and have peace. you can have peace and be enslaved, so peace isn’t the answer—liberation is the answer. ‘peace’ is the white man’s word." that quote applies so much to this situation as well. kwame ture was also an anti-zionist btw.

rabin in my opinion is so wrongly considered a "peace figure" because he also was the one who ordered idf soldiers to immobilize palestinian protestors during the 1st intifada by systematically breaking their bones. today, that order is still somewhat effective and is showing itself through idf soldiers oftentimes specificially targeting the legs and especially knees of palestinians, particularly youths, in "hopes" of disabling and permanently immobilizing them - because otherwise they continue to pose a "threat." so much for he was one of the good ones. even the "left" in israel is extremely zionistic and thus holds nationalistic discriminating values. like literally even the left is still right lmao... idk i learned this today and it's been on my mind ever since and i wanted to share it to internalize it further and maybe it also helps someone understand better along the way too as it did with me.

How do you imagine Levan/Revan/ Mallenoa's husband?

Appearance, personality etc.

Revaan/Laverne/whatever-his-name-is's title sort of implies that he might be from a fantasy-Eastern country (they've established that in Twstland, 竜 = Eastern-style dragons, andドラゴン = Western-style dragons). and that's about as much as we know right now about...anything in regards to what he might look like. so I've been trying very hard not to form too much of a mental picture of him, because I'm still hoping we'll get to see him (or at least a silhouette)! ergo, in my head, he kind of looks like this:

I do think the funniest thing about what we've learned so far is that Malleus being kind of quiet and reserved and dignified...absolutely did not come from the Draconias. and he sure as heck did not learn it from Lilia. so he probably got a lot of that from his dad! the vibe I get from how Lilia talks about him is that he could be a bit of a prim little fancyboy sometimes, but was (mostly) willing to go along with his wife's zany antics out of love. he sounds sweet, honestly! I'm sorry he (maybe) died. :(

my favorite thing about Mal's parents is that Malenoa and Lilia's dynamic was "long-suffering guard and princess who has long been the cause of said suffering":

Tale of two Stans never fails to make me sad. What do you mean these two overly dependent assholes both end up at the worst lowest points of their lives at the same exact moment? What the fuck!? How was it that of everything in their lives to coincide it's them being at their lowest that meet.

What do you mean their childhoods never gave them a chance to be individuals and so all of their weaknesses and blind spots caught up with them in the end. I'm so haunted by the fact that Ford was able to mostly keep his life stable for a few years but in the end his inability to truly read and connect with people got to him. Why did filbrick make him think he was only good for one thing so he pushed himself too far in a way it was easy to take advantage of? What do you fucking mean his fatal flaw is he's convinced he's never good enough and thus is easy to manipulate?

I'm gutted by the fact that Stan was never doing well by any means but he was surviving against the odds and doing better than terrible. Until his tendency to push things, to prove himself, got him in too deep. Why did filbrick convince him he was good for nothing so he pushed himself to find something he was worth? some additional doodles and a Lot of Headcanons... sorry if im spamming these a little bit. ive got so many thoughts in my head, lmao

theres my older pacifica- after weirdmageddon, her and gideon become friends. theyre both sort of ostracized from the town as a whole bc of their past attitudes/actions so they cling together and become buds. its nice having someone else who 'gets' it.

pacifica moved out as soon as she could to get away from her folks and has a job at a local mall. gideon enables her to enjoy at least SOME of her old luxuries by taking her shopping and to get their nails done together and stuff. also his prison buddies help ''kindly persuade'' her parents not to break her enforced no-contact rule from time to time. i know the two have the bitchiest gossip in the entire town together. sometimes when its hard to be 'nice' they know they can at least vent to the other and they wont get judged for it, yknow?

also some backstory doodles! he was a Normal Kid, Once. or close enough to it. gideon was a sickly child and was sheltered and homeschooled for most of his life. the gleefuls moved from texas to oregon when he was about seven (yes i know this breaks canon a little. its fine shh.) and he found journal 2 shortly after. things went downhill from there

other notes. he's always kept his hair long, but used to either let it down or tie it into a long braid. he very briefly attended a public school and he didnt fare very well there (fat kid + albino + 'girly' + general weird interests is basically painting a massive target on your back) he used to stay up and watch late night televangelists when he couldnt sleep in hospital and copped his aesthetic from there

I think it’s interesting how as time goes on Zoro kind of becomes more and more like mihawk in some ways whether that’s just because if you spend time with someone for 2 years you’re bound to pick up their habits or a deliberate attempt to emulate him is a conversation for another time. And Mihawk and Zoro where already pretty similar at the start so it’s a little hard to notice now.

But yeah whether unconsciously or consciously Zoro is becoming a bit more like Mihawk and it’s interesting to think that while this means maturing in some ways (he’s swordsmanship for one but he’s also just quieter much more assured of himself) it also means deaging in some others.

Despite their significant age gap and general dispositions, when it comes down to it Zoro is just a lot more emotionally mature and developed than Mihawk is. And a big part of why is because he found something larger than himself to devote his life too, hell Mihawk himself even kind of acknowledges this when he agrees to take Zoro on as a student when Zoro begs for the sake of his captain and crew. He acknowledges that putting aside his own ego and dreams for the sake of someone else isn’t something he can do and sees it as a fault in himself and a strength in Zoro.

Mihawk may be outwardly mature and his skills defiently did not stagnant but I’d wager that Mentally Mihawk is still stuck at the same age he was when he took over the title of world’s strongest swordsman. Honestly maybe even younger. And it isn’t until training Zoro, letting Perona stay with him, for probably the first time in his life taking charge of lives outside his own did he finally unarrest his development.

If Zoro is purposely trying to emulate Hawkeyes, which it wouldn’t be a surprise if he was that’s who he’s trying to be Afterall, then it would honestly set him back emotionally because fundamentally as he is now Mihawk’s attitude doesn’t work in a crew. It’s too singular, too abrasive. And while that abrasiveness can be useful in Zoro’s role as Luffy’s first mate sometimes it makes him a little too callous a little too apathetic, like with his disregard for Luffy’s sadness over vegapunk.

But Zoro has his crew to temper that, they are honestly just too ridiculous to ever stay serious around. And try as he might to hide it Zoro is also just a silly dude who likes to be horrifically petty with his opponents. And zoro still has so much fire in him, so much he has too prove and so much he wants to protect to ever really fall into Mihawk’s apathy. Zoro has Luffy who even after they reach their dreams will probably still continue to turn the world upside down forever keeping Zoro in some kind of trouble and his life interesting.

Zoro can’t be Mihawk because even Mihawk can’t be Mihawk anymore. Being with crossguild and crossing with the Red hair pirates and the strawhats is going to change him, it has too. if Mihawk is going to live after losing his title he’s probably gonna have to become a little bit more like Zoro.

Sorry, most likely my memory being poor, but I thought Malleus' mom (don't know how to spell her name and too lazy to check how to spell it) was already an adult when Lilia ""proposed""?? Like I was always under the assumption that it was like a one-sided child crush on somebody completely out of your league you tend to have as a kid 💀

I don't think they say how old she was? although it's entirely possible I just misunderstood; my Japanese is...shaky. :') the actual line is "幼い頃に私に求婚したのは偽りか?", which I read as "isn't it true that you proposed to me as a kid?", and took as her being older than him, but not necessarily an adult (like, I was thinking of Lilia as being not quite a preteen and Mel being preteen/young teen). although I don't know if there's a connotation or something I'm missing that implies a bigger age gap, if that makes sense!

(and of course, I might also just be forgetting some other line -- if someone else knows, then please correct me! I need to know which headcanons need adjusting 👀)

BUT YEAH in a canon-y sense, Malleus is 178 and around the third-years developmentally. which makes me think that even though dragons have a way longer lifespan, they go through childhood at about the same rate as most fae (or at least the kind that Lilia is) and just kinda...slow waaaaay down once they hit adulthood. so it makes sense in my brain that he and Meleanor could've basically grown up together!

...it makes it angstier that way, anyway. :)
