today i am relentlessly annoyed that they made at least 4 editions (sometimes more) of action figures for caspian, peter, and edmund for prince caspian, including the highly detailed 7 inch ones, and at least 3 for miraz, and the 7 inch ones included minor narnians like asterius and the satyr who did like one thing and then died, and an unnamed telmarine soldier—but they only made one (1) of lucy and susan each. and they're the small ones. and susan's looks AWFUL. why do we hate women and whimsy

narnia au where their parents were with them at the train station during the beginning of Prince Caspian. To say goodbye to them. Their parents being a little bit clingy(ptsd and overprotectiveness) wanted to both see them off on the train. The parents accidentally end up in Narnia with them. Shenanigans abound. Just imagine these two proper British parents having to deal with the fact that a magical talking lion made their children Kings and Queens, and they were for 15 years in Narnia, Narnia in general, watching their children fight and command armies, Caspian, and the fact that their kids are not really children anymore. Also Mrs and Mr Pevensies having to rely on their children in this unfamiliar place.

ooh yes, there is definitely untapped potential in Mr. and Mrs. Pevensie ending up in Narnia. They would struggle so much with everything. Why are there talking animals and trees and water. Why won't our children listen to us. Who gave our tiny daughter a dagger. Why are her siblings acting like Lucy having a dagger is fine.

Also, if they tag along from the start of PC, they would quickly meet Trumpkin, and I'm laughing so hard at the thought. Because he's also a pretty skeptical person, but they'd have different ideas of what counts as reasonable.

Mr. and Mrs. Pevensie: a real dwarf? How is he here? How did we get here?

Lucy: oh, Aslan probably summoned us.

Trumpkin: the magical king lion? don't be ridiculous. everyone knows there haven't been talking lions in Narnia in centuries

Mr. and Mrs. Pevensie: but other animals talking is normal

Also the battle at the end? There are very serious thoughts to be had about the parents seeing their children all grown up, and realizing how capable they are (and mourning a little at how much responsibility they've obviously had to shoulder so young. they sent their children to the countryside to give them as much childhood as they could, and instead war found them. war and greater burdens than they would have had back home), but I keep getting distracted trying to decide which would be funnier, the book or the movie version.

Movie:

Mr. and Mrs. P: Lucy's not riding into battle! None of you should, but especially her!

Peter: don't be ridiculous

Peter: she's riding alone into the forest to find a lion

Or there's the book version of events, where Peter, Edmund, and Caspian fight in the battle while Susan and Lucy are off riding around on a lion, and literal Bacchus shows up with Silenus and a bunch of maenads and they conjure grape vines and wine everywhere.

(askfjdl and then Edmund eats dirt. The dryads are eating dirt at the victory feast and Edmund eats some because it looks like chocolate and imagine his parents. They've just started accepting their children actually are grown up and capable and royalty--and then their youngest son eats dirt.)

Also, maybe Mr. and Mrs. Pevensie look at Caspian and go "oh, another child carrying way too much responsibility. oh, you're an orphan and your uncle tried to kill you? okay, we have five children now"

"He wants to destroy me." You rolled your eyes.

"I think you could definitely beat him ... and then ... give him to me" Edmund smirked at your response, Caspian kept looking down and then looked back up at the two of you, as you were starting to argue about who has who.

"Don't worry Cas, just go out there and kick their smug asses."

"Right." Caspian hugged you as he shook Edmund's hand. Caspian pulled his mask over his head and grabbed his sword as he ran off towards the field.

"Ed?" You asked, as you went to sit in the stands. Peter Pevensie looked at you and all you could think of was his strong, warm body leaning against yours as he kissed you feverishly. You could almost imagine the smile he was giving you as he ran up and down your body. You look up at Edmund, a smile twining your lips. He glares at you.

"Don't even think about it missy, your brother would kill you and then kill me for letting you do it."

Halfway through the games, you could feel the tension getting tighter and tighter. Peter was aiming for Caspian, who was trying to stay away from Tummnus, who was the supposed assassin trying to kill all the supernatural beings in Narnia.

"He's doing really well." I nodded, leaning my head against his shoulder.

"Yeah. That other one, Peter. Caspian doesn't like him."

"I can feel it."

"Why is he looking at you like that?"

"I don't know. By the way, I'm going to run to the warehouse, okay? I'll talk to you in a bit."

"Sure." He nods. You head to the warehouse, completely dodging the many suits of armor that were stored there. As you sigh, leaning against the wall, you felt a tap on your shoulder. Startled, you turn around.

"Peter?" he smiled lowering his head "hello darling" you smiled back "I've missed you, I barely saw you today" his lips were about to touch yours.

"What if Caspian sees us?" you whisper, looking into his eyes through your lashes. “let him see then” he moved closer, his other hand landing on the other side of your neck. His heartbeat quickens, the closer he gets, your feet instinctively recoil, until your back presses against the rock wall. As his chest leans into yours, you take a deep breath, trying to control yourself.

"Please Pete." You whimper, reaching your hands out to grab his forearms. He gripped your waist tighter, before pressing his lips to yours. Your eyes closing, before he moved closer, sliding your body closer. He bent down slightly, due to the large height difference between the two of you.

"Fuck, Peter." You gasped, as he pulled your shirt over your head. You looked up at him passionately, before jumping up, your legs wrapping around him. His hands remained at your sides, not touching you in the slightest. He found it incredibly sexy, that you could practically stay with him. You look down at his bright, beautiful face, biting your lip. You leaned down, as his hands reach for your ass, squeezing.

He pushed you against one of the warehouse benches, leaning over. He stopped to admire you for a second. You unbuttoned your skirt and slid the drawstring down seductively, before a hand slipped under your underwear. He rubbed you gently, sliding one hand up to cup your left breast.

He raised his eyebrows, "Damn, y/n." He groaned, tearing at your thighs and tugging at the remaining fabric. He moved your panties aside and licked your clit. You gasped, your fingers curling into his blond hair. He inserted two fingers into your slit, curling them instantly. You wiggled against his fingers, "Mmm, you like that?" The vibrations sent you into overdrive as Peter muttered the dirty words.

"Shit, Pete! Please!"

"Mm-mm." He shakes his head, before returning to sucking on your clit. He pulls away, drying his hands on his trousers, "I have a game to attend sweetheart." You stand up, your eyes bright with anger and disappointment.

"You didn't."

"Didn't what?" He smirked, running a hand through his hair.

"You're an asshole."

"I give you a reason to come back, am I right?" He spreads his arms wide to prove his point. You glare at him and tie up your skirt and shirt. You fixed your hair, while he gave you an amused look. Your storm passed him, you bumped your shoulder into his in "accident".

Peter walks behind you until you reach the gates of the camp, he left a kiss on your cheek. You scream, seeing him wink at you. He puts his helmet back on and runs into the field, excusing himself over the toilet and feeling dizzy. You stare in awe at the scene before running over to Edmund, who raises his eyebrows at you.

"I'll tell Caspian." He stands up, about to run towards your older brother. You push him down, seating him again.

"Tell him what?"

"That you had sex with Peter!" He ran off and you sighed.

"We didn't have sex." You bit your lip and looked at the man who knocked the wind out of you in the sword store, "Not yet."

(Narnia, Dawn Treader spoilers alert!) One of the only complaints about the CoN I have is the lack of epilogue type of content in TVotDT. There’s just so much more that Lewis could’ve given us at the end. Things I wish he’d expanded on:

1. What happened to Caspian? Like, he obviously lives out his life in Narnia as king, but immediately after. What did Aslan say to him? Was there a conversation, or did Caspian turn to find himself alone completely? And did Aslan send him back to the ship magically? Or, the much more probable and heartbreaking option, did he row himself back completely alone? How miserable would that have been, to have gone with your brother and sister, this boy you are just getting to know and love, and one of your most devoted soldiers and friends, only to have gone back alone? The Pevensies are always having to leave, but what about Caspian getting left behind?

2. How did Aunt Alberta and Uncle Harold respond to the change in their son? Are they horrified by the change in such a short time, indifferent, or pleased? It seems like they’re both super indulgent with their son, so are they okay with him becoming a Narnian, or does it disturb them how similar he now is to his cousins.

3. How did Peter (and maybe Susan) respond to Eustace going to Narnia. I’d like to think that Peter and Eustace are both nervous to see each other, but they just immediately click and Lucy is like “is this what it feels like to not be the favorite” and Edmund is like “screw you, but yes”.

4. Do Lucy and Edmund teach Eustace all about Narnia, or just kind of tell him as he asks? Like, do they sit down and just have a Narnia lesson with language, history, geography, etc., or does Eustace one day just ask questions like “wait there’s a Narnian language??” (Because you know he wouldn’t have been paying attention to background noises and everyone would’ve talked to him in English to be nice) or “wait wait wait the first king was a cabby??”

5. Does Eustace still like entomology and ask tons of questions about bugs and stuff in Narnia, or is he ashamed of himself and the frames of dead insects on his desk. (I know he wouldn’t kill any more bugs, but would he avoid the subject all the the time?)

6. What was Ed and Lucy leaving like? Did they make plans to see each other soon, were there a ton of tears and choked up hugs?

Idk, I love the book how it is, but I wish there was more shown on the new sibling/cousin dynamic between Ed, Lucy, and Eustace and how the whole trip affected everyone.

edmund pevensie headcanons

being a diplomat

-as a young king, he pitied the messengers who were forced to go back and forth from kingdoms just to convey trading systems, alliances and treaties. so he decided to draft these messages themselves, overseen by his fussy sister susan, and peter, who couldn’t help but laugh at him, only as a brotherly joke.

-many liked him for his eloquence and finesse in his words, and he was often asked for his opinion at peter’s councils or at hardships, like at a peak of a war. he gives the most fitting solutions and humbly asks for his siblings’ opinions too.

-he knew the better war strategies and negotiations to be made

-edmund’s table is HEAPED with requests and letters, so he tries staying up at night to answer them, just like his siblings. through the people’s voting, he was elected to be Narnia’s diplomat, overseeing the treaties and alliances at Peter’s side

-during disputes, edmund would use largely his charisma and charm their opponents out of a war, resulting in an alliance. but that was only once; when he charmed the countess of whatever to hand over the plot of land that was rightfully theirs, since he was humble and did not want to use anyone’s trust to his advantage

-he would be the one to recite an entire rulebook whenever negotiating or arguing with opposing kingdoms, and due to habit he did this when arguing with his siblings (think of when he gets back to cair from a lengthy journey and finds his siblings fighting over some forgery, and he’d recite the 9th commandment.)

-he’d offer to clean armor after a bloody battle or the end of a war, and he would dedicate himself to the task though many protested

lucy’s no. 1 supporter

-during cold or warm days, edmund would always bring lucy into his study, since it had a large window and a flickering fireplace, and he would encourage her to stay close

-it HAS to be canon that edmund and lucy sneak off after their coronation at midnight and play chess in front of their thrones, then they’d proceed to make it a regular thing that happens on their coronation anniversary and of course susan and peter get looped in

-and oh, during the wars! he would be always searching for lucy whenever he’s fighting, making sure she’s okay, making sure she’s unharmed. even if he got stabbed, the first thing he’d remember is lucy.

-BUT THEN he sees Aslan at her side and all relief comes to him, knowing that Aslan takes care of everything

-remember edmund’s line from prince caspian? “i’m older and i don’t think i want to understand,” signifying his opinion of the relationship between susan and caspian, though it’s only movie-canon i’m basing off from the line, he’d be the one who would be like “oh no. lucy’s all red and stammering, clearly she’s got a fever” when it’s actually a simple crush on some village boy (lucy prompt: she meets some village boy and doesn’t know that she falls in love with him)

-although i hc that lucy isn’t the type to be dreamy over a boy

-edmund would 100% support her in all her endeavors and if anyone disagrees he will answer with a punch to the stomach then to the face

-when some guy tries to flirt with lucy at a ball or masquerade, edmund would immediately tap him on the shoulder, casually point at his hidden sword beneath his suit, and say “hi. i’m the duke of lantern waste. pleased to meet you,” which then makes the guy bewildered and slowly back off, recognizing edmund immediately

-and WHY would he be recognized so easily? edmund was known far and wide for his charm and wit, how he was the best swordsman, diplomat and brother at the same time, how he used TWO swords

-lucy would be so confused and edmund would just give her a knowing smile.

Looking back at ‘Before You Go’

Welcome to part 2 of my Narnia fanvid retrospectives which consist of me talking about a specific fanvid I’ve made and how I’ve interpreted the lyrics. This time, I’ll be talking about my second Caspeter fanvid, ‘Before You Go’, which I uploaded almost one and a half years ago now [original post].

Before I get into it, I just wanted to say that this one is especially for @an-angels-fury because she enjoyed my retrospective post for ‘Run To You’ and said that ‘Before You Go’ is her other favourite of my Caspeter fanvids. 😊

Okay, so this one actually has an interesting origin story and that’s because this fanvid was very close to being my first Caspeter fanvid and also very close to never happening at all.

Let me explain… 😊

When I first became obsessed with Caspeter, it wasn’t long till I decided to try making a fanvid about them. I started by going through my music and eventually narrowed it down to two songs. This one and ‘What Hurts the Most’. I liked both songs very much so it was quite possible that ‘Before You Go’ would have been the first one to be edited although I ultimately decided on ‘What Hurts the Most’.

As for why this fanvid was almost never made at all… well that’s because, at the time, I thought Narnia and Caspeter would go the way of many of my other recent fandoms up till that point. That I would do one fanvid, maybe two if I was lucky, but eventually either my interest in that fandom would wane or something new would come along to take its place as my latest obsession. So, I knew that by picking one song over the other, it was quite possible the second one might never have been made.

Well, we all know how that turned out. 🤣 Several more fanvids (and even fanfics) later, Caspeter and Narnia ended up becoming so important to me for various reasons (I’ve written more about this in another post if that’s of interest) which led to Caspeter becoming my OTP of OTPs. 🥰

Alright, now onto the lyrics. This fanvid is all from Caspian’s POV.

‘I fell by the wayside like everyone else’

I feel like there are a couple of ways this line can be looked at for Caspian. Firstly, it’s Caspian personally feeling like he doesn’t measure up to the High King from Narnia’s golden age. And secondly, that Caspian thinks that Peter sees him as less-than because of his Telmarine heritage. Also, I still really like the visuals I chose for this sequence… of Caspian deferring to the higher status of the Pevensies and hanging back as they enter the How for the first time.

‘I hate you, I hate you, I hate you, but I was just kidding myself’

Yep, Peter drives Caspian absolutely crazy in the beginning. Two young men with their own axes to grind and who are out to prove themselves. Caspian both hates how stubborn Peter is during the strategising at the How, but also can’t help seeing beyond that tough exterior that Peter puts up. Someone who is both more and less than what Caspian grew up hearing about in all those stories. Because Peter might not be all that he imagined in terms of the magnificent battle-hardened warrior (at least not at first glance) but he’s also more human and more beautiful and has more heart than Caspian ever could have imagined.

‘Our every moment, I start to replace, 'cause now that they're gone, all I hear are the words that I needed to say’

Despite the connection they share, their time together is over too soon. And once Peter is gone, Caspian can’t help regretting all the things he never told Peter while he had the chance. While I’ve had multiple versions of what Caspian might regret after Peter leaves Narnia in my head for different projects over the last year and a half, when I was editing this fanvid, I was very much imagining this to be that Caspian never told Peter that he loved him.

‘When you hurt under the surface, like troubled water running cold. Well, time can heal but this won't’

I think this was the line that first made me take notice of this song as a potential Caspeter fanvid. The way it reflects their regret over the loss of so many lives after the failed castle raid. It is something that will probably haunt both of them for the rest of their lives. And even though we had no closeup of Caspian’s face when they escape the courtyard, I was rather pleased that I was able to fake one by using a shot of Caspian from the start of the film which I still think works rather well. 😊

‘So, before you go, was there something I could've said to make your heart beat better? If only I'd have known you had a storm to weather’

Apart from his siblings—who Peter could never hope to hide anything from—I feel like Peter is the kind of person who’d keep his troubles close to his chest. So, for most of the time that Caspian and Peter would have known each other, there’s so much about Peter that would’ve been a mystery to Caspian. And at the top of that list would be the hardships Peter had faced as a result of being forced back into his old life after living in Narnia for so long. Constantly being underestimated by the adults in his life as well as being bullied and belittled by his peers.

‘So, before you go, was there something I could've said to make it all stop hurting? It kills me how your mind can make you feel so worthless’

There are definitely times when Peter feels worthless. But for the first instance of this line, I chose a moment where Peter feels like he’s worth less than others. And what better representation is there than the, “what about your own future?” deleted scene between Caspian and Peter. Caspian learns for the first time just how much Peter is willing to sacrifice for those he loves and for the greater good. Even his own life. That thought alone scares Caspian more than anything so he prompts Peter to think about his own future in the hopes that it will give him something else to fight for.

‘So, before you go, would we be better off by now, if I'd have let my walls come down? Maybe I guess we'll never know, you know, you know’

The moment when it all comes to an end. Caspian has just been crowned King and is looking forward to getting to know Peter away from the hardships of war. Just seeing where these feeling take them. But then Peter drops the bombshell that they’re leaving and Caspian can’t do a thing to stop it. All he has left now is regret. Regret over all those missed opportunities where he could have said how he felt but didn’t as well as wondering what could have been if he had. 😢 And I still rather love that sequence for, “I guess we'll never know, you know, you know,” where it looks like Peter is kicking himself for not being brave enough to say something to Caspian when they’d had a moment upon first entering Cornelius’ office. 😊

‘Before you go, was there something I could've said to make your heart beat better? If only I'd have known you had a storm to weather’

When Caspian finds Peter during his and Susan’s talk with Aslan, he can see that something isn’t right with Peter. He wants to help but how can he when he never knew the depths of what Peter, a king to a nation that had been home to him and his siblings for 15 years, had dealt with by being flung back into their own world against his wishes. A loss of self, of purpose and of feeling like he truly belonged.

‘So, before you go, was there something I could've said to make it all stop hurting? It kills me how your mind can make you feel so worthless’

And now we come to the second instance of this line where I focus on a moment when Peter feels worthless. Of course, no one is harder on Peter then Peter himself. As the High King, he has the weight of the world on his shoulders and he when he messes up, he feels the shame of it in every fibre of his being. After the failed castle raid, and the subsequent run-in with Jadis, Caspian starts to see a side of Peter that he never had before. The side that makes mistakes and, in his darkest moments, doubts his value. And that only makes him feel for Peter all the more and wish he knew the right things to say that would make Peter feel otherwise.

‘So, before you go’

And lastly the ending. What can I saw about the ending that hasn’t already been said. I mean, between Peter’s, “we’re not really needed here anymore,” and Caspian’s, “I will look after it until you return,” has there ever been a scene where two people who love each other have said so much and yet so little at the same time?? They were so close to having it all and now they’re being torn apart as Peter walks out of Caspian’s life, never to return. 😢

And on that note, I think I’ll leave it there. I’ve had so many feelings about these two over the last year and a half and, with yet more fic/vid ideas percolating in my mind, I don’t think that will be ending anytime soon. 😊

💚 ILLUMI HEADCANONS THAT MAKE ME HAPPY 💚

idk but i just love imagining random facts about illumi, that don't really add to his character, but kindof do too? Maybe it's because there isn't much screen time of illumi in the anime that my brain needs to fill all that empty space of longing in my heart of what could have been.

SO HERE ARE RANDOM ILLUMI (HEADCANON) FACTS THAT SERVE NOTHING:

He drinks beer and uses his teeth to open the bottles. He used to have a collection of bottlecaps, but then he gave them to Killua. So whenever Illumi opened a bottle, the cap would hence force go to Killua. Now the jar of bottlecaps is somewhere in Killua's room collecting dust.

After finishing an assassintion, he likes to get fastfood. Something quick and indulgent, like it's a cheat day. If he was on a job with his brothers then they'd hit a bodega afterwards. Sometimes he would bring food back to Milluki too.

He can hold a burger in one hand and tear through a ketchup packet with his teeth. He dips his food so much, he rarely eats anything without sauce.

Like Silva, Illumi has had a few pets in his life. One of them being a bear. He named it Pikelet. (I'll explore this one more in my fic!)

Although murder is his trade, that shouldn't hinder his other passions, including wild life conservation! This boy grew up in the mountains, albiet privately owned. You can't convince me he isn't a goblin child at heart.

He always thought he deserved to have fangs.

When he sees a walking stick lying on the ground, he has the urge to pick it up and wield it like a sword.

When he was eight he read all the narnia books. Peter was his comfort character, but he wanted to be Prince Caspian. To this day, if you ask him why he likes Narnia, he will give you a disseration and explain why Lucy is the strongest of all the penvensie siblings. He has never had turkish delight, but believes he would betray his siblings for them, they just look so good!

He could grow antlers out of pure will power. No, literally, he can. He can and will show you. "I'm a crytid. Look at my antlers."

He's still a Goosebumps kid at heart. When autumn rolls around, he he lays in bed and watches his favorite spooky shows (scooby doo, goosebumps, are you afraid of the dark?, tales from the crypt)

When he was little, he used to play in the forest by himself ALOT. One time, he crawled into a log, but the log was at the top of a hill and it began to roll down with him in it and then it rolled into a pond. He was able to escape, but he almost drowned and never told anyone what happened. He was a little mortified to tell anyone because he almost died doing something stupid. He'll tell you he has done alot of stupid things in the woods, but won't divulge more than that.

He's actually kind of good at acting and loves watching movies. This is part of why he is so good at diguises, he studies the actors in movies lol Sometimes he repeats lines from movies randomly in the house. Out of nowhere, he shouts 'BILBOOOO BAGGINSSSS' in a gandolf like voice. It's okay, just accept it.

Illumi has rehabilitated many opossums in his life.

He owns an animal rescue ranch, under a different identity of one of his disguises, that rebahilibates injured animals and prepares to release them back to the wild. His current disguise is an old man, but Illumi plans to 'die' and come back as his son/heir. Yes, he has worked out an entire line of succession for a rescue ranch. Did he have to do this? No, but he did anyway.

Once Illumi officiated the wedding between a frog named Freddie Lime to another frog named Emily Spinach. Oh, he was also high, but the wedding was beautiful, and Milluki fished him out of the pond afterwards.

There's a deer in Kukuroo Mountain that is fond of Illumi. If it sees him, it will run up to him. Illumi doesn't know what the forest calls the deer, but he calls it Thimble. He gives Thimble treats, and Thimple lets Illumi pet him, the arrangement has worked out very well so far.

Kukuroo Mountain is self sustainable, and alot of the food they cook they grow themselves. There's also a farm, with cows. Illumi would just be chilling on a hamick and then suddenly killua runs past him, and then so does a cow. Illumi goes back to napping, this isn't his mess to clean up.

"Concept: I will continue to bottle up all my emotions until I snap."

Here were some facts! I have more stuff, but those are spoilers for my fanfic (where shadows touch), My obsession might be unhealthy but it's delicious and i love it so I'm not gonna stop.

What if asoiaf characters ended up in the world of Narnia? How would they react to the world, Aslan and Jadis?

Okay caveat i haven’t read narnia in a long time BUT all the magical characters are probably in their ELEMENT here I mean

Arya and Lucy would be besties anyway, so you know Arya is having the time of her life

Narnia is a place filled with magic and romanticism and happy endings (if sometimes with a bit of bitter laced with sweet, as the jump from childhood to adulthood always is) and I think all of that would appeal to Sansa on such a deep, fundamental level. When I tell you Sansa and Arya would have a blast!!!

Jon Snow magical girl who puts his entire arm into his prehistoric dinosaur wolf bestie's mouth for funsies would be hella excited about all the talking animals

BRAN STARK. PLS. NEED I SAY MORE HERE.

I think Robb would have a blast too and not just for magical animal reasons but him and Peter have that same "put upon eldest brother" vibe that I think Robb would thrive at being given the chance to really shine as a brother first and a king second

tbh i think the amount of prophecies might freak Dany and Theon out a bit actually - look me in the eyes and tell me Theon would not be tempted by Jadis the way Edmund is, lmao - but I think under some circumstances they could bounce back and have fun exploring the magic that exists there

I know saying Melisandre would like it here is a wild choice but I think the more fairy tale, straightforward morality would appeal to her a lot. Whether she gets obsessive about the wrong kind of magic is um, a different convo. I did make myself sad thinking about poor little slave Melisandre praying to some sort of divine power to save her and Aslan being the one to answer however so that's fun

Kind of along the same lines, in that Narnia often appeals to children who feel lost due to extreme upheaval, I think Missandei would crawl right through the wardrobe, see the lamppost, and just fall in love with the world around her. She's so smart and inquisitive and brave, I just think she'd be delighted. I think if Missandei and Dany went through together, they'd be alright <3

Kind of obsessed with the idea of little Lannister siblings all crawling through at some point or another. Cersei being unable to access the wardrobe, chalking it all up to a dream after she marries and all her dreams turn to ash. Jaime being unable to cope with having adult memories in the body of a teenager. 3. Describe the creative process of writing a chapter/fic i was gonna say that its all over the place but that's like a lie i generally very solidly work from outward in. like depending on how long/complex the idea is i'll either start from the very broad strokes of figuring out the themes/character arcs of the whole piece & then go in deeper by coming up with scenes to decide how they get through each point of that arc, and after i know what Scenes im writing i'll write out the beats of a specific scene line by line with what happens. if there's ever dialogue or a conversation in a scene i'll write that out, sometimes nearly exactly but sometimes deeply stupidly. see: from my current wip

it's like deeply. i need to have everything i want to write written out before i go to actual prose so when i get to writing im not Floundering over figuring out what happens next and translating it into something that sounds good but my outlines do bring me joy from how silly they are next to very serious dialogue. like im not even saying whos saying what here i just Know

7. How do you choose which POV to write from? uh it's different every time. POV is a very fun thing for me when it comes to writing; i love working out the style of narration i'm going to use, the tense, the character & how that all fits into the story. so sometimes i just do it because i want to write in that character's voice--one example i can think of is my ze fic that's half from clover's pov because i want to write in the brain of a character i can justify thinking things like 'fuck me with a chainsaw'. the other times im thinking Intentionally about pov it's about how the information works. ie in sacred text on post-it notes i wanted to do sections about each pevensie sibling from the pov of a different sibling because i liked the interplay of information--ie, susan can say things about peter that he'd never admit himself, but she's also bringing her own biases and lack of info to it. that fic was actually going to have a whole second half set in england where i had different povs to further explore that sort of thing but. well. 10000 words already. a lesser vers. of that is the werewolf au where it started from peter because i needed to introduce the au from someone who knew what was going on, but then i had caspian because you gotta do the second part from someone who doesn't know whats going on to get it + you don't want to Know whats happening in peter as a wolfs head because like. he doesn't either. and then i went back to peter mostly for symmetry & the sweet sweet emotion of having to put your entire trust into someone you hardly know

20. Have you noticed any patterns in your fics? Words/expressions that appear a lot, themes, common settings, etc? i think i'd have to write more for some of this to really come out, but i pull intentionally a lot from my own life to write characters, so there's got to be lots of those basic jester themes, you know, characters who have facades, characters who are always really stressed on the inside and never letting it out, characters who are , well,all of narnia. on a smaller level im always stopping myself from saying how characters have unreadable expressions. or that they chuckle. love to say something is achingly familiar. i always go to fire first for metaphors theres always sparks in your veins fire in your gut etc etc. man this is such a funny question to get as im writing a fic giving peter pevensie all my evil feelings from high school

If someone were to make fanart of your work, what fic or scene would you hope to see? fucking. uhhhh. augh. okay well i feel weird saying this but i am a) an artist before a writer tbh and b) an artist who's much better at like, character design than imagining specific Scenes visually so very rarely to i write a fic and have images in mind for it outside of the aus ive come up with which i will draw so many things about. the main thing is its always important to draw characters hugging and kissing & interacting physically at least to me that is one visual bit that i do imagine in detail. but overall im always drawing something and going damn i wish there was a fic for this instead of the opposite. i'm like wracking my brain here for any moment thats specifically visual and i'd want to See. there's that one persona 5 fic i wrote where makoto & akechi meet while he's in prison; i feel like i wrote that one in a very cinematic mindset. but otherwise trying to imagine this is killing me cos im just enough of an artist to think well fuck i've got to think of a scene with strong visuals! something easy to translate into a good composition! but not the right type of artist to think of what. if anyone drew fanart for anything i wrote id fall on the floor and die of happiness on the spot tho

(Okay, I brought this on myself, but forgive me if I don't have Prowler Miles' characterization down. Also, I ran out of steam when it came to trying to actually incorporate the line in the dialogue, but the vibe/sentiment of it is definitely there!)

Their first one-on-one conversation happened in the food court back at Headquarters.

Nearly everyone who had taken part in the day's (huge, exhausting) battle was there, but most of them had crashed before their food even arrived. Meaning, rather than a comfortable group of all five people who had crammed into the booth together, it was just Margo and Miles 42 eating their food in silence while Malala Windsor, Lego Peter Parker, and Peter Porker snored unhelpfully two feet away from them.

But it was a comfortable silence. Because they were both starving.

And once they had eaten their fill, it came to light that they both had the same favorite TV show.

Sort of.

They were from different universes, so it was more like they both liked shows with the exact same template and extremely similar character names but different everything-else. Which was even better, because who wouldn't want to binge a slightly-warped version of a show they already liked?

"Waitwaitwait, so Cassian and Luxer never kill each other in your world?" Miles demanded, his eyes piercing and invested.

"No!" Margo exclaimed, struggling to keep her ecstatic energy at bay. "They literally talked it out! Yours killed each other?! When?!"

"Season 2 finale, at the abandoned chemical plant! One scene after Dallas becomes king of the Society of Mages!"

"Okay, first of all, in mine Dallas is Dalia, and second of all Dalia never gets the respect she deserves! Caspian and Lucius are literally allowed to walk all over her while she does spells for them whenever they ask. In mine, Season 2 ends with her confronting the Society of Mages and them basically excommunicating her."

"Word?! I'm almost more mad about that than Cassian and Luxer killing each other."

"In mine, they kiss in Season 3. They weren't endgame, though. There was this thing with the actors- and they say it wasn't the reason, but it seriously seemed like it was..."

Margo didn't notice the way Miles' face softened as he watched her ramble. The passion in her raised voice, the barely-suppressed laughter, the adorably spastic gestures of her hands as she raced through the overview of actor drama and coinciding plot points-

"Oh," she suddenly broke off, having accidentally kicked him under the table. "Sorry about that. Usually I'm a hologram when I'm here, so I don't have to be as aware of my surroundings." She took a bite of her quesadillas before continuing, "But yeah, they nerfed Caspian hard after the Season 3 finale..."

Miles hid a smile by drinking more of his soda. In his own universe, he didn't spend a lot of time with people his own age. Unlike Spider Miles, he wasn't enrolled in any fancy science school, and thanks to a heaping helping of unaddressed emotional baggage, his time at public school had mostly amounted to devoting minimal attention to classes that felt kindergarten-easy and keeping his cool when bigger guys thought his lanky frame meant they got to start something.

"I can't tell if your world's version of the show sounds slightly better or slightly worse," he mused, "but I think I want to watch all of it."

"Oh, I fully plan to binge yours at the first opportunity."

"Well..." He tried out the charming voice he'd learned from Uncle Aaron. "We both have wristbands. If you want, you could...swing by my universe sometime, you know..."

"Yeah! We gotta meet up. I..." She grimaced. "If you want to watch it in my world, too, we'll probably have to do it somewhere other than my house, but I can make it happen."

"Well, it's a date." And he seamlessly concealed the sudden rush of embarrassment at his impulsive statement by taking a huge bite of his food.

"Technically right now it's just a concept," Margo teased. "It's a date when we have a date and time."

"If we want to watch the whole show in both worlds, how about Tuesday at 7 we watch three episodes of my version, then Thursday at 7 three episodes of your version?"

"Alternating as we go? That'll be trippy; I love it." With a grin, she added, "Now it's a date."

And he was not fighting back a smile. He was just drinking his drink. The Prowler did not have butterflies in his stomach. No indeed. "'Swing by' was a pun, you know."

"Oh, shoot. That one snuck by me."

"It prowled by."

"I was about to-! You didn't give me time to say it!"

7. How do you choose which POV to write from?

usually i pick who would be the most interesting, but also make the most sense for the story i'm telling. if there's certain information that needs to be conveyed and one character doesn't know it, i'm probably not going to write from their pov. if that makes sense. sometimes it just happens where i'm like "this would be better from an outsider pov" which is how harm's way ended up from jonathan's pov, and how north of desire wound up from caspian's. sometimes a character just takes over and i'm like oh okay so we're doing this now, which is how daniel ended up pov for objects in motion. it varies but usually i want the most interesting pov and the one that makes the most sense in the long run.

9. Do you comment on stories you read?

i try my best to comment on every fic i read if i enjoyed it even a little bit. i am a frequent clicker outer; if i'm not enjoying i will just leave, but if i make it to the end i think it deserves a comment to let the author know i enjoyed. comments can really brighten someone's day, as i know firsthand, so i try to let authors know they're appreciated.

33. Do you want to be published some day?

technically i already am. i mean it's an academic research paper. but that's a thing. idk i'm sending some poems and stuff to litmags and maybe a short story would be cool but i'm not really hoping to be a published career novelist someday. i think i'd be bad at it i don't want to talk to anyone or do book tours i just want to post and be done. the only yapping i like to do about my writing is on tumblr or in ao3 comment replies and authors these days seem to Have to be all over social media self-promoting and shit.

36. How do you write kissing scenes?

let me just say this now. I HATE WRITING KISSING SCENES. i need to go back to writing gen only because writing kisses is the WORST and i HATE IT and i'm just going "what the fuck is even going on" the entire time i try to do it. it makes no sense to me where is the appeal. blech.

that being said i do not talk about tongues. at all. if i can help it. i have discovered the more you talk about the kiss itself and the mechanics of it the weirder and grosser it feels so it's like, let's focus on maybe one specific sensory thing if there's a bite or something involved, but spend most of it talking about the Emotions not the body parts because nothing turns me off of a fic faster than tongues and shit.

Casmund happy ending: I love the idea of the Pevensies(mostly Edmund) trying to teach Caspian how to function in the real world with them. I think Edmund Lucy and Susan's favorite part would be trying to get him proper clothes. He basically looks regal and princely in everything he wears. Also when Edmund introduces Caspian to his mother. He's super charming, kissing her hand and stuff. Peter is a little(maybe a lot annoyed) of Caspian dating his brother. But he gets over it really quick. Their mother takes Edmund and Caspian's relationships really well. It's mainly their father they have to deal with. But Peter puts his foot down and talks to his father. Gives him basically an ultimatum. Accept your son as is, or lose all your children and not just one. Because the Pevensies are ride or die for each other. And Edmund and Caspian are basically married in all the ways that matter.

Sorry for the late response! I was thinking about Caspian in the real world, and wanted to ask if you've seen the Dorian Gray movie with Ben Barnes, because the beginning with innocent Dorian wandering London around all wide-eyed gives off such Caspian-in-England vibes. I couldn't find any gifs of that scene on tumblr, and instead of just screenshotting it like a reasonable person I thought "well, I know how to make gifs. how long could it take?" AND THEN IT WAS 2AM. Anyway have these gifs of Caspian completely failing to act casual while I ramble about your ask.

Oh my gosh yes, Caspian is the sort to kiss people's hands. The chivalrous disaster. He probably goes around calling people "my lady" and "my good lord" etc too. And he absolutely would somehow look regal in whatever he wears. Edmund is torn because he wants Caspian to blend in, but also his boyfriend looks so gorgeous. Also imagine Edmund tying Caspian's tie for him. And the hat Caspian is wearing in the gifs above looks a lot like the one Edmund wears in Prince Caspian. What if Edmund is scolding Caspian, telling him mess up your hair or something, slouch a little more, you still look like a king, stop standing like you've got a crown on— And Caspian grabs Edmund's hat from the coatrack and puts it on. "Does this help?" he asks, grinning, because Edmund's brain just stopped working for a moment and Caspian knows it.

As much as I want the Pevensie parents to just be okay with their son being gay (or their children, because let's be real, none of these siblings are straight), realistically at least one of them would have some difficulties with it. I love Peter not being happy about Edmund and Caspian dating but instantly getting over it when he needs to defend them to his father. These siblings are so close and it's so good. Imagine traces of the High King showing through as Peter calmly, firmly tells his father Edmund and Caspian are together. This is how things are going to go, and there is nothing he can do except make himself miserable by pushing his children away. And Richard* sees a side to his oldest son he hasn't before--or maybe hasn't accepted before, but it has been there for a while. And he takes some time to really look at his children, and sees all sorts of things about them, strange things, but they make his children seem so alive. Like how happy Caspian makes Edmund. So after that the parents have a new son-in-law.

The thing about me is that at least once a year, I will become obsessed with the first two Narnia movies and my brain gets stuck on at for at least a week.

I'll be going through my daily tasks and all I'll be thinking is "okay, but the fact that the plan to attack Miraz's castle in Prince Caspian failed wasn't entirely on Peter's shoulders partially because he was just doing what he knew - joining up with an already gathered army and leading them into battle against an enemy far more powerful than his own army to retake Narnia from the force that had long been established - but I do think he did feel horribly guilty over it and feel like it was his fault and that's what led him to be so defensive and lash out at Caspian and meanwhile Caspian was in a similar place because he flubbed the plan to confront his uncle about the death of his father and it just went to show how similar the two of them actually were."

And I just keep thinking about Narnia and there's no way to actually get it out because for whatever reason, I can't write Narnia fanfiction!!!

hmm, yeah, i don't think i've ever spoken about the chronicles of narnia, i liked it a lot as a kid but it never really stayed with me as an adult probably because without getting into the blatant religious overtones, it really is quite heavy-handed and very much for children although i did write a paper in high school basically saying that while i was a fan of harry potter, the books just treaded on a lot of what narnia and lotr already did hahaha. some notes my teacher had about my premise, which is interesting

the first thing i ABSOLUTELY need to say about narnia is that as a kid, i read the lion, the witch, and the wardrobe many times. i read it at home (there was this actually this one audio book that me and dad listened to when that i really loved because of one line when lucy takes them to the wardrobe and it's still just a wardrobe and peter in the most sarcastic voice goes, "what a surprise" and i BURST out laughing particularly since i don't think that's even in the book??) then we read it in my grade 3 class and one day my teacher brought in turkish delight and i was freaking the fuck out because i always wanted to know what was SO good about turkish delight that edmund would sell out his entire fucking family, i was like i need to know what this tastes like. my teacher, miss k, took out this really pretty red tin and i was excited AS FUCK. then i tasted it. i don't think i have ever been more disappointed in my entire fucking life. i HATED it, i hated the texture, i hated the taste, i was furious. and i remember talking to my teacher because she was like you have to understand that they're growing up during the war and things like candy were a luxury and i was like fine but for THIS candy? no. absolutely not. no. nope. NOPE. flashforward to about three days ago, i'm scrolling through IG and there's this one reel where this woman was like, ok we need to discuss edmund and turkish delight again because i know we ate it and were like this is a mediocre treat (for me i actually almost threw up when i took a bite so a bit worse than mediocre) and she reread the passage where he eats it and c.s. lewis describes it as basically once you eat it, you just want to eat more so the woman in the reel was like edmund basically gave up his family for the kiddie version of cocaine so we should be more lenient and i was like LMAO fair.

so, for the lion, the witch, and the wardrobe i remember thinking the movie was pretty much exactly how i pictured the book. except for the white witch that's not how i pictured her but i was like, that's absolutely edmund and lucy and susan and peter, that is great casting and i particularly liked when mr. tumnus gets lucy to sleep because i thought the movie really elevated that part of the book and really leaned into the eeriness and creepiness of it. aslan's death was also very stressful for me.

OKAY. prince caspian. i haven't seen prince caspian since i saw it in theatres so i'm only going on what i remember from the movie, which is that i didn't like it, i didn't like the peter vs. caspian (ugh demon eyes) thing because that's not what happens in the book if i remember correctly and it seemed unnecessary and it made me uncomfortable because susan and caspian were having their little thing whatever that was and peter felt like his authority was threatened and it oddly felt like a weird love triangle because susan was caught in the middle and i was like i don't like any of this, please keep it. and i didn't like it so much that i didn't bother watching voyage of the dawn treader.

i really liked the magician's nephew, which is probably the most overlooked book of the series even though it starts it, i was obsessed with the wood between worlds as a kid, i just loved the way it was described

kind of like how i was obsessed with the ents in high school, lmao, i just harp on things sometimes, out of all of them, i actually think it's the most magical book.
