i LOOOVE thinking about fantasy disabilities!!!! i love figuring out what people would have to do to accommodate them! it's literally awesome!
#fun after-comic joe facts time yayyy so joe's soul got a little bit fucked up#its just this small crack. which makes him entirely unresponsive to anything for like 5 minutes max#at seemingly random intervals. it slows down and doesnt last as long as it heals but its still like#not good lol#and its just gonna keep happening the rest of his life because souls fuckin heal weird#its one of many problems disorders he has to deal with this ones just special because doctors have#NO clue what to do with him so he and his friends just gotta figure out how to cope with it themselves#after a while he can kinda tell when its about to happen a few seconds before it does#so because he's rarely left alone anyways because he. cant take care of himself much anymore#he can give them a warning and they will make sure nothing dangerous will come from it and just wait for him to come to#as it heals and becomes less of a problem it kinda becomes more of a problem ironically#he does reach a point where he can mostly handle himself. but he cant do shit when that happens#except try to sit down asap. so while it happens less often it causes More Incidents. alas#i think kiara's way of dealing with it happening in particular is so silly#cause she just. grew up with him like this. this is just normal to her she's never questioned it#like oh ok dad's blanked out again i will just wait so patiently for it to be done so i can keep showing him#my mlp toys and explaining mlp lore to him#it happens and she just stops what she's doing and waits for him then continues as if nothing happened#everyone else gets so fussy about him when it happens but kiaras just#are you done? ok so pinkie pie is the laughter pony#he thinks its awesome he loves her so much

How to Save a Life
Pairing- Dean x Black Reader, Sam x Reader( Best friends)
Warning- cursing
Your thoughts and other characters are in italics.
A/n- This series will be a slow burner like really slow. Your mother is a character. Basically you have a background.
Dean is sitting inside baby trying to start her up when Sam walks up to him.
“Do you need any help?” Sam asked.
“You under a hood, no thanks.” Dean answered.
Sam could tell that Dean was not ok. This was the only thing that Dean wanted to do. It was the only thing that he could fix. So when he finally got the parts for his car he never let it and Sam knows that this is his way. This is how Dean grieves he throws himself into whatever he’s working on until he no longer thinks about it.
“Do you need help with anything because I’m not doing anything right now I can help.”
Dean then pick ups a cassette tape and waves it in the air. “This is all the help I need.”
“You stole that from Y/n.” Sam said with an sigh of irritation.
“Borrowed. I borrowed it from Y/n” Dean replied. “I’m gonna give it back.
“Your just going to give her every reason to hate you even more when we need her help.” Sam
“We don’t need her help.” Dean proclaimed as he put the cassette tape in and Press play.
“Ladies and gentlemen you are in for a real treat tonight we have the amazing Margaret Jones singing This Old Heart Of Mine by The Isley Brothers.”
“Not what you expected.” Sam said with an smirk.
“This old heart of mine been broke a thousand times Each time you break away, I fear you've gone to stay.”
“No.....I haven’t heard this since mom.” Dean whispered to himself.
“What are you talking about?” Sam wondered as he sits down in The passenger side.
“I remember mom and dad dancing in the living room to this song.”
“Wow....I didn’t know that.” Sam said with a smile. “She sounds so amazing.”
“That’s Margaret Jones for ya. She was a famous singer back in the day.” Dean answered. “I wondered how did Y/n got a copy. You can’t find her music anywhere.”
○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○
It was a slow day at the hospital, and when I mean slow it was slow. Y/n was only treating patients with poison ivy and fevers. That’s what you get when you live in a small town right. It was almost noon so it was time for Y/n to take her break. But as soon as she walks outside to the picnic area she gets a phone call. From her mother.
“Hello.”
“Hello, Maggie how’s your day?” Margaret asked.
“Good. I’m just about to go on break.” Y/n said as she sits down at under a shady tree.
“I was hoping we could meet for lunch?” Margaret asked.
“Ya,ok I’ll be at the house.”
“See you then.” Margaret said as she hangs up the phone.
“Going on break?” Your best friend asked her as she walked up to her.
“Yup, be back in two.......don’t have fun with out me.” Y/n said with a smile.
Y/n walks out the hospital and gets into her car and drives home. When she finally gets home she goes to put on her mother’s song on and but AC/DC Back in Black comes on.
“Huh?” Y/n said. “I thought I put it in.....”
Y/n checks the AC/DC case and find it empty. She then starts to check all her cases and can’t find it anywhere then she realized.
“Dean.” Riley seethed.
Y/n hurries and change out of her clothes and rush out the house to get in her car.
She then calls Bobby.
“Hey, Y/n.”
“Where is he?” Y/n asked in a calm voice. But she was barely containing her anger.
“Who?”
“Dean Winchester.”
“Last I heard they were at Ellen’s bar.” Bobby answered.
“Thank you.” Y/n hangs up the phone and starts her car up then drives to Ellen’s bar.
○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○
Dean and Sam are sitting at the bar. Ellen walks up and lays down a couple of beers.
“You boys did a hell of a job. Your dad'd be proud.” Ellen proclaimed.
“Thanks.” Sam said with a small smile.
Jo, sitting down on the other side of Dean, gives Sam a look.
“Oh yeah, um, I've gotta... uh, uh, I've gotta go. Over there. Right now.” Sam uttered as she walks to the other side of the bar.
“So.” Jo said clearing her throat.
“So.”
“Am I gonna see you again?” Jo wondered with a quizzical smile.
“Do you want to?” Dean asked.
“I wouldn't hate it.” Jo answered with a coy smile.
At the same time all of this is going on Y/n drives ups to the bar and gets out the car and walks in.
“Oh no.” Sam whispered.
Y/n walks up to Dean and punch’s him in the stomach. She hits him so hard the punch making him throw up his beer.
“What.....was......that for?” Dean drawled as he laid on the ground.
“Were is it?” Y/n barked.
“Where’s what?” Dean choked as he gets up from the ground.
“You really gonna play dumb.” Y/n stated as she looks Dean dead in the eyes.
“So I see you met Y/n.” Ellen said with a smile.
“Hey Sam, hey Jo , hey Ellen how’s it been?” Y/n asked.
“It’s been good.” Ellen answered.
“How do you and Dean know each other?” Jo questioned.
“He almost dropped a car on me.” Y/n answered as she looks over at Ellen.
“That’ll do it.” Ellen remarked.
“Oh no I’m not here because of that.” Y/n looks back over at Dean. “I let you into my home and you steal from me.
“Borrowed, I was gonna bring it back.”
“Where is it?” Y/n questioned.
“At Bobby’s” Dean answered.
“Your coming with me to go get it now.” Y/n voiced. “Sam, you need a ride.”
“I’m good I’ll stay here and talk to Ash.” Sam replied.
“Ok tell him I said hi.” Y/n said. “Bye”
Y/n grabs Dean and drags him out the bar. “Get in.” Dean gets in the passenger side of Y/n’s car. Y/n walks over to the driver side. Before she gets inside her car she sighed heavily.
Why....just why.
Y/n gets in her car, start it up, pulls out of the parking lot and drive away.
○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○ ○
The car ride was quite. Y/n was focused on driving while Dean was Sneaking glances at Y/n. Dean wanted to say something but he just didn’t know how to word it.
“Look...I’m sorry ok I really was gonna bring it back.” Dean disclosed.
“Ya, I bet you were.” Y/n said sarcastically. “....You know just by knowing you for a couple of days that’s all you’ve been saying to me is ‘I’m sorry’.”
“What can I say I should come with a hazard warning.” Dean said with a coy smile. “By the way that punch.....where did you learn how to do that?”
“My granddaddy was a Four-Star General. He made sure all his grandchildren knew how to fight.” Y/n answered.
“Was he the one that got you into hurting?” Dean wondered.
“What got you into hurting?” Y/n asked tightly.
Dean pauses and sits there quite contemplating if he’s going to say anything or not.
“Don’t expect me to be an open book, Winchester?” Y/n informed sassily.
When Y/n pulls up to Bobby’s house she see a 1967 Chevrolet Impala. She turns the car off and Dean gets out and walks over to to his. He run his hand on the side of it with a faintly smile on his face.
“So this was the car I was giving Bobby parts for.” Y/n stated. “This yours?”
“Ya.” Dean answered. “Those parts came from you?”
“Ya.” Y/n replied.
Dean walks over to the driver side and opens the door. He reaches in and get the cassette tape, then hand it to Y/n.
“I can’t believe you have a Margaret Jones.” Dean chuckled.
“Ya.” Y/n said with a tight-lipped smile.
Y/n is about to get back in her car when Dean softly grabs her arm making her pauses.
“Maybe I took it because I wanted a reason to see you again.” Dean
Y/n looks at Dean with a blank expression then she laughs a hearty laugh.
Dean drops his hand and looks away in defeat. “It was Worth a short.”
“You almost killed me with my car, then you stole my cassette tape and you think a one liner is gonna get me in bed with you.” Y/n laughed. “Goodbye, Winchester.
Dean looks back as Y/n walks back to her car. Before he can say anything he get Tail pipes smog. Y/n looks in the rearview mirror at Dean with a smile then
drives off.

Across town at a little café, Margaret is waiting for her daughter. Outside at a table. She was just about to call her when Y/n walks up to the table and sits down.
“Hey, Maggie what took you so long?” Margaret wondered as she sips her tea.
“I got.... held up.” Y/n remarked.
“I wanted to have lunch you so we could talk about your brother.” Margaret announced.
Y/n gets up from sit and is about to walks away. She’s already had to deal with the shit with Dean. Now her mother wants to talk to about Malcolm. This day keeps getting better for Y/n. Margaret calls out to Y/n which makes her stop and turn around to look at her.
“Maggie, your brother misses you so much there are things-.”
“If he misses me so much send him a picture.” Y/n said meaning the words more seriously than they sounded.
”Can you please talk to him for me.” Margaret insisted.
“Ma, I love you but Malcolm is no longer my brother.....not after what he said.” Y/n stated. “Or did you forget.”
“No I didn’t......no one will ever understand what you when though that night.” Margaret replied.
Y/n’s pager beep. “I’m sorry ma but I got to go and I’ll see you for dinner, ok”
A/n- I still don’t know if I’m going to write smut but if I do it will be separate stores and I hope you don’t mind the nickname Maggie.

numb - m.tkachuk
requested: [x] yes [] no
request — Matty can tell you’re not doing too good mentally and he feels so lost since he wants to help but he doesn’t know how so he ends to calling his mom to ask for advice on how to comfort you and help you in the best way he can
Wrong. Wrong. Wrong. That’s all that ran through your head as you stared at the screen, you should be paying attention, you should be laughing when Matthew laughs, your eyes took in the sights on the screen, but your brain didn’t process. All you thought was how empty you felt, and then the guilt for feeling this way when you had Matthew right beside you. You should tell him, you should be honest, open, you knew he’d understand, and even if he didn’t, you knew he’d do whatever he could to help you, but it wasn’t that easy to admit the way you felt. “Hey, princess.” Matthew whispered, softly rubbing your legs that were draped over his lap, your eyes snapped over, jumping softly at the contact, “are you alright?” He asked, watching as your face stayed blank for a moment, “yeah, I’m fine.” You forced a smile. “Tired.” You added, nuzzling further into the couch. He didn’t push it further, he knew the look on your face, so he knew that you wouldn’t break, not yet, you refused to admit it, so he continued rubbing your ankles and feet softly. Not noticing how you had started drifting off with a few silent tears under your eyes. Your hair draped over your face, hiding the small spots of water as he slid out from under your legs. Normally he would scoop you up and bring you to bed, but he didn’t want to risk waking you up, not when he had a million thoughts running through his head. He pulled the blanket over your sleeping figure, hand lingering in your hair for a moment, he pushed it off your face, heart shattering at the silent tears drying to your cheeks. “Oh, baby.” He whispered, holding in a sigh, he left a soft kiss to your forehead, watching as you curled further into the blanket.
Matthew paced outside on the balcony of the apartment, it was late, but not too late back at home, so he did the only thing he could think of, he called his mom. “Matthew? Honey, is everything alright?” His mom answered, he could hear some sleepiness in her voice and instantly regretted calling her, but it was too late now. “Yeah, I just, I need advice, about Y/N.” He admitted, looking in through the glass door to make sure you were still sleeping. He smiled softly as he saw you exactly where he left you, “what happened?” Chantal inquired, the topic suddenly peaking her interest. She loved you to bits, she took you in immediately, and sided with you on most things whenever you and Matthew would get into disagreements, Matthew may be her son, but she wasn’t afraid to tell him when he was wrong. “Nothing, not with us at least, not that I know of. She’s just been so quiet, and zoned out, she doesn’t want to talk, and she just fell asleep on the couch crying, and I was sitting right there.. mom why won’t she talk to me?” He ranted, tugging at his curls, frustrated with himself. “Oh.” She paused for a moment, taking a second to process the info. “Well, if she truly doesn’t want to talk, you can’t make her, I know that sounds difficult, and you’re probably thinking she should just tell you whenever these things happen.” Chantal took a deep breath, trying to find the right words to calm her son and not send him into more worry. “You can’t see inside her head, honey, you don’t understand what goes through her head, neither do I, but I can tell you as someone who went through these things with your dad, it’s not easy for her. She’s probably stressed, the season is coming up, she’s going to miss you, and she might just be struggling unrelated to that.” She stopped, giving Matthew a chance to take in her words. “So you’re saying she’s just feeling like this for no reason?” He sounded exasperated. “Oh, my sweet boy.” Chantal laughed, “a women’s mind is so much more complicated than you’ll ever understand, she puts everyone and everything else before herself, she goes to work, she worries about work, she comes home she worries about dinner, or cleaning, or grocery shopping.” “But I help with all of that stuff.” Matt cut his mom off, looking in at you again. “I know you do, you’re a good man, but, she still thinks about all these things and it just adds to her plate, so as much as you want to help, sometimes you just need to hold her and tell her it’s ok to cry it out.” She explained, most of this was speculation, considering she truly didn’t know for certain what was going through your head, but she knows on some level she had to touch on one of the things bothering you. “Alright.” He mumbled, rubbing a hand over his face. He saw you roll slightly on the couch, “I should go, thank you, mom. Love you.” He rushed, she laughed figuring you must’ve woken up, “love you too.” She managed to get out before he hung up.
You sucked a sharp breath in when you heard the back door, you quickly wiped your face, glancing over the back of the couch to see Matt approaching. “What were you doing?” You asked, voice cracking from sleep, you cleared your throat as he leaned over the back of the couch. “My mom called.” He shrugged, not wanting to admit he called her, grabbing your hand and playing with your fingers, “I went outside, I didn’t want to wake you.” He added, smiling down at you. “Thanks.” You sighed, rubbing at your face, trying to wake yourself up, although you knew the type of tired you were wouldn’t just wake up with a movement, or a cup of coffee. It ran deeper than that.
***
That was nearly a week ago, and you were still stuck in this rut, you couldn’t shake it. You knew Matthew was more than catching on to it, but everytime he tried to help, you’d simply push him away. Like right now for instance, you were sifting through your laundry bin, trying to finish putting away the clothes that have been sitting out for so long. “I can put them away, go lay down.” Matt insisted, rubbing at your tense shoulders, you rolled him off of you, sighing deeply. “I’m fine.” You muttered, voice cracking, just give in, give in Y/N. “Don’t push me away, please.” Matthew whispered, you turned to him with wide, tear filled eyes, and he was there, before you could feel them spilling from your eyes. “Matty, I’m sorry.” You cried, arms circling around his neck, he shook his head against yours, “no, baby, don’t apologize.” He shushed you, holding your weight against him, “Y/N, hey, you gotta slow down.” He carefully sat you on the bed, squatting in front of you. Your breathing was ragged, chest rising and falling rapidly, the tears still flowing, you didn’t realize how much you had been holding in. “I’m sorry, I-I should’ve talked to you, but it’s just been so h-h-hard. I don’t know why I feel like this and-“ you stopped your stuttered sobs as you took a deep breath, feeling the way your chest was aching for air. Matthew grabbed your face, meeting your eyes, you tried to push the panic away, feeling your hearing fade in and out, you knew you just had to take some deep breaths. “Breathe.” Matthew mumbled never taking his eyes off yours, he couldn’t help but take his own shaky deep breaths along with you.
Your tears had slowed, your eyes dry and burning with puffiness as he stayed in this position. “Hi.” You croaked out, cocking your head in his hands, he sighed out a soft laugh shaking his head. “Babe, are you okay?” He knew, in retrospect, that was a dumb question, but he had to ask it. His thumbs smoothing away your stress lines, watching as you began to relax under his touch. “Yeah, I feel a little better now.” You admitted, finally tearing your eyes from him. You fiddled your thumbs in your lap, “I know it’s hard, but I don’t know what’s going on in that pretty little head of yours, so I just need you to talk to me. I’m not saying you have to tell me anything that you don’t want to, but I at least need you to tell me when you feel like this, you can’t have a breakdown like this all the time.” He explained, not forcing you to look at him, but he kept his eyes on you, waiting patiently. “I know, I’m sorry, and don’t tell me not to apologize, I should’ve told you, I wanted too, but I just didn’t want to worry you, I don’t know how to explain the way I feel sometimes. It’s just there.” You finally spoke, and the calmness in your voice, for the first time in weeks, was like music to his ears. “I know you didn’t, but I don’t want you to think about that, I worry you every god damn day I go out on the ice, I can handle you telling me when something doesn’t feel right.” He spoke sternly but his face was soft, watching as you looked down at him with a soft smile, a tired, still a little emotional smile. “Can you do that for me?” He whispered, eyebrows raising slightly when you ran a hand through his curly hair. “I can do that.”

Robron week - Day 4
Make a wish, it's the rule.
Look at this...on time for once! From the same universe as yesterday as people seemed to like it.
(A03 link)
Aaron’s on the last job of the morning and it’s the kind he hates. He likes to think he’s learned a little bit of tolerance in this job because he understands that people are ill and they really don’t want to be there, but when someone is doing nothing but running down the staff on the wards it gets his back up.
“There we are Mr Harris, someone will be back to collect you when you’re done.” He turns on his sweet saccharine voice that he keeps just for the difficult ones. Without so much as a by your leave he drops his notes on the desk and scarpers. It’s been one of those days and he’ll be glad when it’s over.
As he’s on his way back to the locker room he spots a familiar face, it’s Robert from a few nights before. He probably doesn’t remember him but he feels as though he should say hello and he quickens his pace to catch up with him.
“Robert? Hi.” The man in front of him looks blank for a minute and his face drops. Of course he doesn’t remember, his whole world had probably taken a beating that night, why would he remember a stranger. Then recognition kicks in and he smiles.
“Aaron! Sorry, I’m dead on my feet.” Aaron brushes away the apology before he asks how his little boy is doing. “He’s ok, he’s still upstairs. I’m on my way back now, had to take a work call because my son being in hospital isn’t a good enough excuse apparently.”
“You look like you could do with a break.”
“Going to give me tea and a blanket again?”
“If you want. He’ll be alright for a few more minutes won’t he? You look like you’re going to fall over any minute.”
“I should get back. Ever since I told him about Bex he doesn’t like it when I’m not there, screamed the place down yesterday when I nipped home for a shower.”
“Tell me to mind my own business and I swear I’m not a weirdo but if you want I could sit with him while you get some lunch. Not to sound like my Mum but you’re no good to him if you’re exhausted. The staff up there know me.” It’s weird, he shouldn’t be offering, but if Robert was on his own aside from Vic then he could probably do with the help.
“I don’t know, he’s pretty upset.” He looked at him like he’d hung the moon though.
“Half an hour. If he doesn’t like me then I’ll come find you.”
“Are you sure? Don’t you have to work?”
“Yeah, I’m sure. It’s my lunchbreak, was only going to go for a jog, this is a much better way to spend time, besides it’s freezing out there. He’s what six? That’s the same age as my little cousin and I babysit him loads. Go on, you’ll feel better for it even if the food ain’t up to much.”
“I don’t know.”
“If it helps I wanted to be one of those play specialists years back. Would’ve tried it if I hadn’t moved to France.”
“France?”
“Yeah. Waste of time, came back when my boyfriend cheated on me.” He bites his lip, maybe he should’ve kept quiet but a part of him wanted him to know, because as much as he told himself it wasn’t the time or the place he couldn’t help but be attracted to him, even if nothing could ever happen.
“Oh. Well...ok.”
“That’s settled then. Now go eat.”
“You’re a lifesaver.”
“Nah, I leave that to the professionals. Go, it’ll be fine.”
It still feels strange, even with Robert’s permission, walking onto the brightly coloured children’s ward, the place full of noise as always. One of the nurses he knows directs him to Seb’s room and he peeks in the doorway to see him staring at the TV, red faced from crying, mouth downturned in a pout.
He feels bad when he pushes the door open and he sees a momentary smile only for it to disappear when he sees someone other than his father coming in.
“Hi. I’m Aaron, what’re you watching?”
“Nothin’.”
“That’s a shame, because I told your Dad that you’d tell me all about the cartoons. Guess I’ll see if the kids next door can help me.”
“No. I can do it. You know my Daddy?” Aaron nods, sitting beside the bed. The little boy is propped up on a mountain of pillows and he’s guessing Robert had persuaded them to give him a couple extra because there was definitely more than the regulation amount. His leg is hidden by the covers but he can tell it’s injured somehow by the cradle holding the sheets away from it. There’s a dressing on the left side of his head too but other than that he seems ok.
“Yeah. I met him the night you came here. He went to get something to eat but he’ll be back soon. I told him I’d come sit with you so he wouldn’t worry.”
“He does that a lot.”
“Yeah? Mums and Dads are like that aren’t they.” He remembers a second too late and he wants to kick himself as the tears start to form in Seb’s eyes. “I’m sorry mate.”
“Mummy went to the stars.” He tells him, hiccuping his way through the words.
“Yeah, I know, but you know she’ll always be here with you right? You’ll remember her and Daddy will tell you about her loads.”
“Is your Mummy still here? Daddy’s isn’t. He told me that he used to be really really sad, but now it’s not so much and that’s how I’ll be too.”
“Well I bet he’s right. Yeah my Mummy’s still here. She’s right bossy, makes me tidy my room and all sorts.” That gets a giggle and he’s relieved. He wouldn’t want Robert to come in and see his son crying.
“Do you work here?”
“Yep. I’m a porter, do you know what that is?” He shakes his head, eyes wide with interest and Aaron thinks he looks just like Robert. “I take people where they need to go, on their beds or in wheelchairs and stuff.”
“Do you race them?”
“No. I think I’d get into trouble if I did that.”
“You should. It’d make them feel better.” He adds a little nod at the end of his statement.
“You think. Well you never know, maybe one day. So, what do you like doing when you’re not stuck in here? I can go get you some toys or we can play a game.”
“I like drawing. It’s my Daddy’s birthday today.” It takes a second for Aaron to catch on to the change in subject. “Can I make him a card?”
“Yeah, course. I’ll go and get you some stuff. Don’t go anywhere will you.” He winks at him, getting another giggle before he goes to raid the supply cupboard on the ward.
He can’t help feeling a little sad that Robert’s spending his birthday in the hospital with his son and his mind is already whirling with thoughts about how he can make it a little better. Maybe he’s overstepping, after all they don’t even know each other really, but he finds himself wanting to make Robert smile, to make things just a little better. He wants to know everything about the man too, but he pushes that to one side. Now’s not the time.
Armed with pens and paper he heads back to Seb’s room, manoeuvring the table over the bed so he can draw. He’s still at it when Robert comes back in the room looking a little better and Aaron sits up straight in the chair.
“Daddy!”
“Hey cheeky. Have you been ok with Aaron?”
“Yeah he’s funny! He’s going to race the trollies when he’s working.”
“Little sneak. That was your idea!” He goes to stand beside Robert. “He’s been fine. I put my foot in a little mentioning my Mum but I think he’s ok. Sorry.”
“Don’t worry. Thanks. You were right, I really needed a break.”
“Any time. I mean it, here’s my number, or just ask the nurses to radio me and I can sit with him as long as I’ve not got a job.” He scribbles his number on a bit of Seb’s discarded paper and hands it to Robert. “He’s better company than my mate right now.”
“Sounds like a story.”
“Nah, he just wants me to go out on the pull, gets a right monk on when I won’t.” Maybe he shouldn’t but a part of him wants to know if there’s an interest of any kind or whether he’s wasting his time.
“Not a good wingman?”
“He’s not, just wants me to hang around while he tries it on with every girl in the room.”
“Not your scene? Sorry none of my business.”
“Not my type more like. Anyhow you don’t care about this. I should go.” He makes for the door wanting to escape the embarrassing silence. “Oh, happy birthday by the way.”
The next time he sees him he’s pushing Seb in a wheelchair as Aaron’s taking a patient to the entrance to be discharged.
“Aaron! Race us!” Seb’s voice carries along the corridor and his patient starts laughing. At least she won’t put in a complaint. He’s already got one against him from the bloke this morning who hadn’t got a sense of humour, he doesn’t need another on the same day.
“Seb, Aaron’s working.”
“Oh go on petal, give him a little race.” He can’t help checking the corridor for any of the bosses before winking at Seb and increasing his pace a little, chuckling as Seb urges Robert to hurry up. He lets them go ahead and Seb’s cheer is surprising in how it makes him feel happy. “If you get into trouble lad, you tell them I insisted.”
“Cheers Alice, I might need to. Thanks though, he’s having a tough time.” He whispers conspiratorially to his passenger. “If I sit you here your husband won’t be long will he?”
“No, no, you get on. I think they’re waiting for you.” She pats his hand and he flashes a smile at her already heading towards these two people who already have a place in his heart.
“Where are you off then?”
“PIcnic!”
“Wow!”
“This one has been telling all and sundry that it’s my birthday and somehow there were some spare sandwiches and bits left over from the lunches which mysteriously ended up in his room. The nurses all but shooed us out. Know anything about that?”
He shrugs, embarrassed. “No one should be stuck in hospital on their birthday. Or visiting for that matter.”
“Well thanks. You wanna join us?”
“Please Aaron, please.” He can’t resist Seb’s pleading face, looking up at him from the wheelchair, tucked up in a blanket, leg stuck out in front of him in it’s plaster cast. “Daddy got choc’late cake.”
“He did? Well in that case...I’ve got a few minutes.”
They find a spot on the grass at the front of the hospital and thankfully the grass is dry when he sits down.
“Are you sure we’re not keeping you from anything?” Robert fusses as he sticks the straw in Seb’s carton of apple juice.
“I’m not goin’ anywhere til I try that chocolate cake.”
“Best get to it then. I even managed to get a candle because apparently it’s not a birthday cake without one.”
“It’s not Daddy. You hafta blow it out and make a wish, it’s the rule. Like I did on my birthday.”
“Oh yeah, what did you wish for then?” Aaron asks him, amused at how he bossed his Dad about.
“More cake.”
“Fair enough.” He watches as Robert sets the candle in the cake patting his pockets when he doesn’t have a light. Aaron hands him his lighter. “Here. I’ve given up but it reminds me not to start again. Besides it can come in handy.”
“Right then.”
“Blow it out Daddy!” Robert looks embarrassed but he does as he’s told. “What did you wish for?”
“That’d be telling wouldn’t it.”
“So, when are they letting him out?” He asks when they’ve eaten the cake and Robert’s cleared the remains from Seb’s mouth.
“The weekend, if he can handle crutches. I’ve got nothing sorted, I live up on the second floor and I don’t know...oh you don’t need to hear all this.”
“I don’t mind.”
“Why are you helping us Aaron?” He shrugs. “I’m not complaining because I don’t know where I’d be if you hadn’t helped the other night, but why? You must see loads of people looking as pathetic as I did.”
“You didn’t. You just looked like you needed someone I suppose.”
“Well cheers. I never would’ve called Vic either if it hadn’t been for you.”
“Yeah? You’re getting on alright then?” He hadn’t seen her in the village so he had no idea if they’d reconciled, although he knew Vic well enough to know she wouldn’t take no for an answer.
“I like Auntie Vic. She brought me pizza!”
“Wow! Her pizzas are the best.”
“You know Auntie Vic?” Seb looks amazed as if it’s the coolest thing in the world.
“Yep, since school.”
“That’s a long time.”
“Yeah yeah, alright you, don’t go making me old before my time.” He reaches out to tickle him making him squeal.
“You’re really good with him.”
“Big kid meself.”
“I just...don’t feel like I know him.” He bends a little closer so Seb can’t hear. “Bex and I we didn’t really get on and I didn’t get to see him as much as I wanted so I’ve missed tons and I don’t know how to make up for that.”
“So don’t. You’re here now. My Mum left when I was eight and even when I found her again she didn’t really want to know. We’re alright now, but it’s hard to forgive her for that. Not leavin’, well not just that, but mostly for not caring. As long as he knows you care, that you love him more than anything else then there’s nothing to make up for.” Robert nods but doesn’t say anything. “Make sure you ask for help too if you need it. Not just Vic, but if he needs to talk to someone.”
“That sounds like experience.”
“Yeah. It helped me with stuff and it doesn’t mean you can’t cope.”
“That’s scary.”
“Nah, you’re a Sugden. Stubborn as they come, right?” He’s about to say something else when his radio crackles into action with a job. “Best get on.”
“Aaron...when he gets out of here...would you like to go for a drink or something?”
“Uh, sure. You still owe me that pint, remember?”
“I meant...more like a date. Maybe I shouldn’t when he’s still here and Bex is...and he’ll need me, but I like you Aaron. Forget it, I’m barking up the wrong tree.”
“No...I mean, you’re not wrong. When he’s sorted yeah?” Robert nods. “Right I better go before I get the sack. See ya later Seb.”
“See you later alligator.”
“In a while, crocodile.” He ruffles his hair gently as he goes. “See ya Robert.”
“Soon I hope.” Maybe today wasn’t too bad after all.

To Join The Black Parade
Pairing: Gerard Way x Reader
Genre: Fluff
Summary: Written for Gothtober 2020, Day 11. Prompt: “Death Parade”.
You receive an unexpected phone call, from your old friend Gerard. He asks you if you’d like to play a role, in the upcoming music video, for ‘Welcome To The Black Parade’. But, when he sees you on set, something comes over him, that neither of you ever expected.
You sat in the studio, in front of a blank canvas. You glanced up at the diploma, hanging in on the wall, in the corner. It was proof that you had graduated from SVA, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts. But, despite being certifiably good at art (on paper), you still felt like an impostor, on days like this, when you had no inspiration at all.
Your brush hovered over the empty white space, when, suddenly, you were interrupted, by the sound of the phone ringing. As soon as you saw who was calling, your expression brightened.
“Hi, Y/N,” greeted the familiar voice of Gerard Way. Simply hearing your old friend speak, was enough to make your spirits, instantly lift.
“Hi, Gee,” you smiled, moving the phone closer to your ear. “How have you been?”
Even though you talked on the phone all the time, you hadn’t seen him in person, since last summer. He had briefly returned to New Jersey, to play a Warped Tour gig. You’d hung out with him afterwards, backstage. It had been so fun - and yet, so fleeting.
“I’ve been good,” Gerard replied jovially. “I’m sorry for calling you so early, though.”
“It’s not early,” you chuckled. “It’s like, eleven o’clock.”
“Well, here, it’s only eight,” Gerard reminded you.
The East Coast was no longer his home base. He had moved to Los Angeles, a few years ago, when his band started to take off. This put him in the Pacific time zone, three hours behind you.
“How’s California treating you?” you asked. “Still staying in that weird haunted house?”
“Nah, we’re done recording the album now,” Gerard updated you. “We’re actually getting ready to film the music video, that’s gonna go with the lead single.”
“Oh, cool!” you said, interested. “What’s the single’s title?”
“It’s called ‘Welcome To The Black Parade’,” Gerard revealed cryptically.
“What’s the Black Parade?” you asked curiously.
“I have this concept for the video - well, for the whole album, really,” Gerard explained. “This guy is like, dying of cancer, and Death comes for him, in the form of his favorite childhood memory.”
“The memory is….a parade?” you guessed.
“That’s right!”, Gerard confirmed. “I kind of based it off, like, when my dad would take me and Mikey into the city, at Thanksgiving time, to see the Macy’s parade.”
“Oh, of course,” you nodded. As a fellow New Jersey native, only a ferry-ride away from the Big Apple, you had grown up going to the parade every autumn, too.
“So, this whole, like, procession of marchers, is gonna welcome The Patient into the afterlife,” Gerard went on.
“That sounds amazing,” you said honestly. “I can’t wait to see the video, when it’s finished.”
“That’s actually what I was calling you about,” Gerard confessed slyly. “We’re gonna have a lot of extras in this video shoot. Like I said, a whole parade of people. I was wondering, if you might want to be in it?”
“You want me to be in the music video?”, you repeated, eyes wide.
“Yeah,” Gerard grinned. “I just thought, it would be really nice, to see you again, and have you be a part of this whole art project with me.”
Art project. That was one way to describe it. Gerard was a big Hollywood star now, with fans all over the globe. But, he still talked about the album his band was working on, in the same way, that he used to talk to you about the comics he wanted to write. Deep down, he was still the same storyteller that you used to see in class every day.
“Gerard, I would love to,” you accepted the offer, immediately. “I’ve missed you. It’s going to be so great, to hang out again.”
“I can’t wait,” Gerard said happily. “Don’t even worry about the airfare, I can get the label to fly you out.”
“Thank you,” you said giddily. You couldn’t wait to see your old friend again.
%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
The flight to Los Angeles was long, but uneventful, and the day of the video shoot, arrived before you knew it. You gasped, when you walked in, and saw the set. There was a huge parade float, surrounded by a desolate, gray landscape. You wondered how long it had taken the set designers to put it together. You felt nervous, as you watched the other extras milling about, most of them already in costume.
They’re real actors, you thought anxiously. I’m just some random person.
Your nerves eased, as soon as you heard a voice behind you.
“Y/N, you made it!” Gerard said delightedly. You turned to face him.
“Whoa!” you gasped. “Your hair!”
“I know, it’s a big change,” Gerard laughed, running his hand through his short-cropped, bleach-blonde locks. Last time you had seen him, his hair had been dark, and down to his shoulders.
“What do you think?” he asked, seemingly a little self-conscious.
“It’s very different,” you said honestly, “But, I like it. A new look, to signify a new era!”
“Exactly,” Gerard nodded. “See, I knew you would get it….I gotta tell the guys you’re here. They’re gonna be psyched, to see you again.”
“I’m psyched to see Mikey, and Frankie, and Toro again, too,” you grinned. They were all old friends of yours.
“Oh, but first, I gotta introduce you to the director,” Gerard remembered. “His name’s Samuel Bayer. He’s amazing - he’s the same guy that directed the music video for ‘Bullet With Butterfly Wings’, back in the day.”
“No way!” you gasped. ‘Bullet’ was your favorite Smashing Pumpkins song.
“I know, right?” Gerard grinned. “And just last year, he did some really cool videos with Green Day, like ‘American Idiot’. I’m so happy that we were able to get him to work with us, on this video. I think it’s going to be amazing.”
“You’re such a flatterer, Gerard,” said a dark-haired man, walking over to you. “Hi, I’m Samuel.”
“Hi, I’m Y/N,” you introduced yourself, shaking the director’s hand.
“I heard you’re an SVA grad, too, right?” Samuel smiled.
“Yeah, Gerard and I both graduated in ‘99,” you nodded. “You went, there, too?”
“Yeah, I was in the class of ‘87,” Samuel explained.
“Wow...small world.”
“For sure,” Samuel laughed. “Anyway, Y/N, are you ready to get changed into your costume?”
“What am I going to wear?” you wondered.
“Oh, you’re going to love it,” Gerard gushed. “We had Colleen Atwood design all the costumes for us. She’s incredible.”
“She’s the same lady, who designed the costumes for Edward Scissorhands,” Samuel added informatively.
“Whoa,” you gaped. This really was an all-star film crew. Did you really belong here?
“Here’s your outfit,” Samuel smiled, handing you in the garment bag. “Go ahead and get changed, we’ll meet you back here in five.”
“O-okay,” you gulped, suddenly unsure, if you could pull the role off - no matter how small it was.
“Don’t worry,” Gerard assured you. “I know you better than anyone, Y/N. I’m sure you’ll do great.”
“Thanks,” you said softly, calmed by his words.
“I have to go fake-sing for the camera,” Gerard chuckled. “I’ll see you soon.”
%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
You took the garment bag into the bathroom, unzipping it, to reveal the costume inside.
The jacket, you noticed, was black, with a marching band style collar - pretty similar to what Gerard was wearing, when you walked in. The only difference was that yours was sleeveless. Instead of pants, your jacket was paired with a black skirt.
You hesitantly changed into the outfit. You flushed, when you looked at yourself in the mirror. The skirt was short - almost too short.
You didn’t wear things like this very often. You constantly got paint on your clothes, so you never wanted to wear anything too fancy. It would just get ruined. Most of the time, you could be found in oversized sweaters, and ratty jeans.
I can’t refuse to wear it, though, you told yourself. Even if it feels kind of uncomfortable….Gerard spent a lot of time and money to bring me out here. The least I can do, is play my role, without complaining.
You walked back onto the set, your legs feeling cold and exposed. Gerard and the band had just wrapped a scene on the float, miming playing their instruments.
“Cut!” Samuel called. “Okay, I think that was a good take!”
Done with his part, Gerard strolled back over to you.
“.....Wow,” he gaped when he laid eyes on you, his eyes widening.
“Wow, what?” you blinked, feeling self-conscious.
“Wow, you look amazing,” Gerard said, blushing. “I...I don’t think I’ve ever seen you wear something like this before.”
“Oh, you think it suits me?” you asked hesitantly. You hadn’t expected this reaction.
“Absolutely,” Gerard complimented. “Have you been...working out?”
“Oh, you mean, my legs?” you realized, blushing. “Yeah, I’ve been jogging a lot…”
He stared at your uncovered thighs, making your cheeks turn hot.
“Ah, there’s my Fear!” Samuel smiled, walking over to you.
“Fear?” you repeated, raising an eyebrow.
“Yes, you’ll be playing the role of Fear,” Samuel explained, “and this young lady here, will be playing Regret.”
He indicated a petite actress, whose costume was identical to yours. “Regret” gave you a friendly wave.
“As soon as you’re done in the makeup chair, you ladies can do your scene with Lukas,” Samuel directed.
“Who’s Lukas?” you asked.
“Lukas Haas is playing The Patient,” Gerard explained. “He’s a great actor.”
“Oh, our main character,” you nodded. “Ok, I guess I better head over there!”
You were surprised, how Gerard’s eyes seemed to follow you, as you walked away. It was almost as if he didn’t want you to leave his side.
%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
“Ok, we’re going to start moving the parade float forward!” Samuel announced. “Processioners, I need you to start walking forward, beside it, okay?”
You stood in line, and at his signal, you and the rest of the ‘parade’ began to march forward, towards the camera. You tried not to glance up too obviously at Gerard, who was standing on top of the float, beside you. The guys were up there with him, in matching marching band jackets. You had to admit, it was a striking look.
Lukas stumbled towards the front of the parade, wearing his hospital gown and slippers. He looked confused, and sad - a befitting expression, for a character, who was supposed to be newly deceased.
“Ok, cut!” Samuel called out. “Gerard, you’re going to lean over the side of the float, and put the medal on Lukas, okay?”
“Ok,” Gerard nodded, dangling a military-ish cross on a chain. “Like this?”
“Perfect,” Samuel praised. “Now, I need my Fear and Regret, to come stand on either side of Lukas, okay?”
“R-Right,” you stammered, moving to the spot on Lukas’ right that Samuel was pointing at.
“Now, Fear and Regret are going to kiss The Patient on the cheek,” Samuel explained.
“They’re what?” Gerard frowned, his expression turning suddenly sour.
“It’s in the script,” Samuel reminded him.
“Just on the cheek?” you clarified.
“Yeah,” Regret confirmed. “You do one, and I’ll lean in, and do the other, at the same time.”
“Oh, okay,” you shrugged. “I can do that.”
Sure, it felt a little awkward, since you’d just met Lukas twenty minutes ago. But, at least it wasn’t on the mouth, or anything.
Samuel signaled for the camera man to start filming again, and you leaned over, in sync with Regret, and planted a peck on the actor’s face.
“Cut!” Samuel shouted. “Ladies, I’m sorry, I need you to do that again.”
“Why?!” Gerard demanded. “I thought that take was fine.”
“Because you were making a face in the background,” Samuel groaned.
“N-No I wasn’t!” Gerard denied, blushing.
“You were,” Samuel insisted. “You’re supposed to have a neutral expression, and be looking at the camera. But, you were looking down at them instead.”
“You were pouting, dude,” Frank teased. “Come on, let’s try it again.”
You repeated the take, leaning over, and kissing Lukas’ cheek again.
“Cut!” Samuel called again, looking frustrated. “Gerard, the rest of the band was looking at the camera just fine. You’re still staring downwards, with that surly expression.”
“I’m not surly,” Geraed argued. “I was making a totally normal face.”
“No, he’s right,” Mikey shook his head. “You weren’t looking, where you were supposed to look at all.”
“Let’s give it one more try,” Gerard sighed. “I promise, I’ll get it right this time.”
I hope so, you thought with a frown. How many times, am I going to have to put my lips on this guy’s face today?
“You know what,” Samuel shrugged, “why don’t we just take a break for lunch, and try again in thirty?”
This was fine with you - you were already bored, with the repetition. You wished you knew what was throwing Gerard off.
%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%
You found Gerard by the craft services table, listlessly eating a handful of Cheetos.
“Are you okay?” you asked him softly, as you filled your own plate with snacks.
“Yeah, I’m fine,” Gerard insisted. “Don’t worry about me.”
“What is it that you’re having trouble with?” you wondered. “I mean, all you’re doing in that scene, is standing still up there, right?”
“Yeah, it shouldn’t be this hard,” Gerard frowned. “I don’t know….something about watching you plant one on Lukas, is just getting on my nerves.”
“Why’s that?” you asked, raising an eyebrow.
“I….I don’t know,” Gerard blushed. “I just don’t want you touching him, for some reason.”
“You’re the one, who called me, and asked me to play this specific role,” you reminded him.
“I know I did,” Gerard acknowledged. “I just….I didn’t think it would bother me this much.”
“Why does it bother you?” you asked. “Like, what is it that goes through your head, when you see me do that?”
“I guess I feel…..jealous,” Gerard admitted shyly, dropping his voice, so only you would hear.
“.....Jealous?” you repeated, heart pounding. What was he saying?
Gerard’s whole face turned red, and he stared downwards, suddenly very interested in his shoes.
“....Gee,” you whispered, touching his arm. “Look at me...are you telling me, that you wish, I was kissing your cheek, instead?”
You two had been friends for almost a decade now, but he had never made a move on you, or given you any indication that he desired anything more, than a platonic relationship. But….the truth was, you’d always found him incredibly handsome.
Gerard’s hazel eyes glanced up, hesitantly meeting yours.
“As soon as I saw you walk out here, in that skirt,” Gerard confessed, his voice soft and husky, “I wanted to kiss you, on far more, than just your cheeks.”
“....You want to kiss me on the mouth?” you realized, your face and body going suddenly so hot.
“God help me, I do,” Gerard breathed.
“.....Do it,” you said breathlessly. Secretly, you’d wanted this, for years.
“But, there’s people all around us!” Gerard said shyly.
You looked up, and saw that he was right. Actors and actresses were starting to form a line around the table, eager to grab food to snack on.
“.....Come with me,” you said impulsively, and dragged him by the arm, into the powder room, where you’d gotten changed earlier.
“Y-Y/N, what are you doing?” Gerard stammered. “This is the girls’ room…..I’m not supposed to be in here….I don’t want to get caught….”
“Then be real quiet, then,” you shushed him, and pulled him in for a searing kiss.
His shyness seemed to melt away, as his lips crashed into yours. He wrapped his arms around you, pulling you tighter, as the kiss deepened.
“....Gee!” you gasped, coming up for air. You never saw this coming from him.
“Y/N, I want to make you mine,” Gerard panted, eager to taste your lips again. “Mine, and mine alone.”
You kissed him again. Your hands twisted into his newly short hair. You’d wanted this forever, but you never expected it to actually happen. He tasted so sweet, and his touch was so startlingly possessive.
“Honey,” you purred, grabbing him by his jacket collar, “I’m already yours.”

Des checks in but she can’t check out (OC story staring my buddy sparkle)
Des Checks in, but she can't check out
Malcore stared at his sister in a mixture of shock and amusement, as they sat at his place having supper. It was a few days before Des's 18th birthday and since Malcore had to work the night of her birthday, he'd invited her over to his small one bedroom apartment for a few drinks and a birthday dinner. in fact they were on their 3rd glass of rye and coke when Des had told Malcore what it was she wanted for her birthday. shaking his head, he just reached over and took her drink away. "Ok, clearly I was wrong, you can't handle the good stuff and your cut off." he laughed. "malcorrrrre!" Des whined. "I'm not drunk!" "I think you are. Otherwise you wouldn't of asked me to commit you to a mental asylum for a week so you could be treated like a baby." Malcore said, sipping his own drink. "Stop being a butt head about this!I know what I want!" Des whined again and pouted. "And you told me I could have whatever I wanted! and this is what I want!" Malcore rolled his eyes, but let her have her glass back and finished off the last of his steak, thinking. "Ok Des, let's say I do decide to help you with this. first and foremost..you living with mom and dad still. I think their gonna notice you missing for a week." Malcore pointed out. "They actually won a cruise and so their gonna be gone for a whole month. they're gonna trust me to stay by myself at home...so they'll never know." Des said and smiled. "..So your rewarding their trust by...Ok ok..never mind. Secondly, How exactly am i suppose to get you locked up in the loony bin, and treated like a baby? I'm not exactly made of money you know." Malcore pointed out, gesturing to his tiny place. "Ooook sooo I found a place that does more.. temp placements and hold patients while the family gets things ready at home. it's not free but I got the money to cover for it! I've been saving up all year for this." Des said proudly, flashing her toothy grin. "..Ok, who's gonna look after Mom and dad's place while your in the nut house drooling on yourself in a strait jacket?" "A duh, YOU! You job is actually closer to their place AND they have AC and a satellite dish. all the channels you could want and you just have to mow the grass. Plus their fridge is stocked." "..I'll THINK about it, but one's thing for sure Des.." malcore said, smirking and taking a drink. "whats that?" She asked. "Either way you SHOULD be in the nut house. your bonkers." he teased.
two days after Des's birthday, Her and malcore saw they're parents off on their cruise and malcore promised to look after Des and make sure she stayed out of trouble. He still hadn't given her his answer yet but as they walked to their parents car he made her sit in the back seat 'where little babies belonged.' Pulling out of the parking lot she was a little disappointed as they started on the route back to the house. "Sooo uh.. guessing thats a no on my gift..huh?" she asked, sounding a little disappointed. "Des did you really think I'd just drive you up to the nut house and take you in like this and get you put in there for a week?" Malcore asked, looking in the rear view mirror and seeing her pout. "I..I dunno." she huffed. "Think about it Des..if you want them to believe you think your a big baby damage to yourself we have to dress you for the part first." malcore said and smirked. "Then..then you're gonna do it?!" Des squealed, and went to lunge forward to hug him and got caught by her seat belt. "Pffft, DORK! and yeah, but we're gonna have to sell it..so I hope you have some babyish outfits at home..and lots of diapers." "heh, you bet your butt I do!"
Malcore hadn't been sure what to expect when Des pulled out her little suitcase of goodies out from under her bed, but he knew it was going to be a mixture of cute and funny. and he wasn't disappointed. thick white disposables diapers, Disney print ones, and even some cloth diapers with a pair of locking plastic panties, with ruffles on the butt. aside from the diapers she had a few different t-shirts with phases on them like 'mommies widdle stinker' and 'daddies girl' and 'caution: full load'. finishing off his sisters little collection of kink, was a matching light pink baby booties and baby mittens, both of them lockable. "well I think we know what your mostly gonna be wearing to prove your helpless and a big baby." Malcore joked, nodding at all the lockable stuff. "you got a preference on which t-shirt you wear in?" he asked, then noticed a bottle of mad lax in one of the pockets. "huh, I thought they stopped making this stuff after it kept being used in so many pranks and so many kids were crapping their pants." "Oh heh, I uh, got the last bottle before it was pulled. only used it once or twice, the stuff is WAY too powerful." Des said sheepishly. "I was crapping myself with like NO control for a day and..a..half.." She trailed off as she noted the look on Malcore's face. "Noooo no no no no no!" she said, waving her hands back and forth. "oh come on, you wanna be put in a strait jacket and left to poop yourself, but some mad lax is too much for you? don't be such a baby." Malcore laughed and winked. "..See when you put it like that.." She said, giggling a little. "Andddd I dunno.. what shirt do you think will work best?" "Caution, full load for sure. now go and get a shower in and uh.. shave..you know.." Malcore said, suddenly blushing and looking uncomfortable. "Huh? why?" "Because well, do you think we'd let a big baby have big girl hair? sides it'll give you one last chance to think about whether or not you really want this." malcore said. Des blew a raspberry but marched off. "..the shit I do to make my little sister happy." the 20 year old grumbled. "I HEARD THAT!"
all squeaky clean, Des practically skipped her way back into her room, on cloud nine and eager to get dressed like the big baby she knew she was. no being a dumb stinky big girl for a whole week, with the added benefits of being helpless and she was sure there would be at least some humiliation involved too.. it was everything a total diaper dork big baby like her could hope for! coming into the room she saw Malcore had gotten the diapers all ready for her as well as the rest of her soon to be attire and as a nice little bonus, had prepped a sippy cup for the big baby ('hehehehe thats me!' she thought) to drink. "Last chance to bail and just I dunno, waddle around the house and I'll tease you." Malcore said, smirking. "..wait, that was a option?" asked asked, putting a blank look on her face. "..Uh..yeah of cou-" "Kidding! I knew that dork. it won't be the same!" Des said and burst out laughing. "..Somebody wants a spanking before her butt goes back in diapers huh?" Malcore said dryly. "Threaten ME with a good time!" "andddd my kink limit has been hit. come on doofus, get over here so big brother can get you back in your diapie wipies." Des giggled and walked over, dropping her towel and planting her butt on the thick terry cloth diaper and grinned like a fool as malcore powdered her and then pinned them nice and snug. "where's your bank card so I can pay for this whole little trip back to baby land for you?" He asked, tugging the t-shirt on her then holding out the plastic panties for her to step into. "oh, I just have it all in cash, it's in my night stand." Des said, holding onto Malcore as she stepped into the plastic pants. "And I think you mighta gone too thick with the diapers, I don't think the plastic panties are gon- URK!" Des was cut off as Malcore yanked up with the panties, lifting her up off her feet for a second and letting her weight force them over the thick cloth diapers, making them bludge and puff out, then locked them tight. He also gave her the mother of all diaper wedgies as he let her plop down onto her pampered butt. "You were saying?" he asked. "Son of a bisket eating weevil, that HURT you butt!" she huffed. "Aww widdle baby Des can handle spanking but not a widdle wedgie?" he asked in a mocking baby tone. Des glared at him but then he reached down and tapped a finger on the end of her nose. "boop!" this, much like it had when they were 3 and 5, made her break into helpless giggles.
with the mittens and booties clicked into place, and Des using both hands to hold the sippy cup in place as she chugged, malcore lead the way out to the car, which was parked back in the garage. sure it could of been cute to make her waddle into the driveway like this but since they hadn't been able to find a skirt, let alone pants that could of covered her massive diapered ass malcore was glad he had parked inside. 'That's all we need, noisy ms.Johnson from across the street seeing Des in all her diaper dork glory.' with Des strapped into the backseat, and Malcore having all her monies in his wallet, they drove off to go and commit Des to a week of babyhood, though before they even reached the end of the block Malcore was rolling down the windows and glaring at the rear view mirror at a blushing Des. "I-I told you this stuff works quick.." She whined.
The Nurse at the front desk for oaks mental placement ward had seen a lot of things in her 3 years on the job. People who thought they were kitties, a guy who insisted her was Bill Clinton..and even one man who turned to go super sayain has his parents had dragged him in. Today she smelled the newest arrival far before she saw her, and raised a eyebrow at the sight of a young man leading in a girl dressed like a big baby, and judging from the funk in the air the blond girl was living up to the disclaimer on her t-shirt. "Malllcorrrrre, I wanna go pway wiff da other babies at da park!" the blond girl was whining. "Just hang on Des, Big brother needs to talk with the nice lady." the Brown haired man was saying, Malcore the nurse assumed. "Excuse me, who do I talk to about admitting my sister for a week?" he asked. "Whattt? nu admitting! wanna stay with ou!" the blond girl whined and started to have a full on fit, slapping at malcore and looking like a big stinky toddler. the nurse was forced to call two orderlies out, and then lead Malcore to go and talk with her boss.
Des put up the best fight she could, not that she wanted to get away, but she wanted to make sure they felt the need to restrain her as tight as possible for her stay. She also nipped at fingers and was rewarded with a big fat pacifier gag being forced in her mouth and strapped around her head. she suckled on it and fussed, till a hard swat on her squishy rear made her knees wobble, then she was dumped into a large medical crib, too high for her to climb out of even if she hadn't of been in a massive diaper that had been loaded to the brim. Getting to her knees she held onto the bar's with her mitten hands and glared at the two missing link's that were the orderlies. "Sheesh, this ones gonna be a handful, I can already tell." "no shit Sherlock. I don't care WHAT her brother says, I'm getting a strait jacket for her." the other one said, rubbing his eye where Des had scored a lucky hit. "heh, think spanking will be part of her treatment?" the first one asked, shaking his hand where Des had bitten his fingers. "because I could go for tanning her bratty backside." '..This..this might of been a mistake.' Des was realizing for the first time as she whined and backed away from the two, landing on her mushy back side and letting out a loud wet sounding fart. "Ugh! Christ! what did she eat, road killed skunk!?!"
In the head office Malcore was just finishing up the last of the paper work, it had been stupid easy to get Des signed in..it almost seemed like the guy running the place KNEW what was really going on but didn't mind as long as malcore could pay for Baby Des's stay. it had taken the better part of a hour and in that time Malcore had given over the key and given permission for them to get Des changed, in more ways then one and also given them free reign to use whatever treatments they deemed needed to keep her safe from harming herself, and even allowed corporal punishment if they felt it was warranted. One small change though from the original plan, unknown to Des though she would soon find out..was that Malcore hadn't just paid for one week like the little dork wanted. As it turned out the place hadn't cost as much as Des had assumed, and so, being the -kind- and loving big brother he was.. Malcore had signed her up for three weeks. Of course he'd be lying if he said the temptation to enjoy his parents house hadn't played a role in this, but he also figured after three weeks in baby bondage land Des would either be cured of her need for this darker side of her fetish..or hug him like crazy and thank him for making it real. he was ready to flip that coin. "Well, i think that about does it." Dr. Altez said, shaking Malcore's hand. "Would you like to see your sister before taking off to supervise the constitution of her new nursery.?" "of course, though i don't think she's gonna be very happy with me. I did after tell her we were going to the park." Malcore chuckled, getting up and leaving with the good doctor. "heh, well we all do what we must." Walking down the hallway Malcore was lead into the nursery, where a series of cribs were set up and there was a changing table. the carpeting was nice and plush and there was a animal print on the walls and from the looks of it, a toy chest just filled with nice soft toys that Des would be able to play with, if she could earn good girl time. Sitting in a crib by the back of the room however was Des who was mumbling before her paci gag. She'd been changed from her soiled padding of course, and was now in a thick wet plastic diaper and a light pink straitjacket that had her arms trapped at her sides. her booties had been replaced and -snk-, her hair had been brushed and put into pig tails. the paci gag had a cute little pink mouth guard on it and she was wearing a little bib..mostly because with all the grumbling and muffled protests she was trying to do she had a stream of drool going down her chin. rocking back and forth and clearly trying to get her arms free, Des cried out around the gag and tried to get up only to fall on her face , though the mattress of the crib was soft enough she didn't hurt herself. "would you like a moment alone with her to say bye bye?" The good doctor asked. "Yes please." malcore said. Once they were alone, Malcore walked over and leaned over the crib bars, down at Des. "Well dork, having fun yet?" malcore asked. Des glared at him and started to shake her head no. "ah ah ah, beeee honest~" Malcore scolded, wagging a finger. She stopped, then closed her eyes and nodded. "Good, I'm glad you having fun, I know this might seem a little scary at times, but I'm sure you'll get used it before your first week is up." malcore said. That got her attention and Des's eyes went wide, and she gave him a questioning look. "oh yeah, I decided since it was cheaper then we thought, to give you -THREE- weeks in baby land. I didn't think you'd mind, but on the off chance you do..well.. No one will care. I've already given consent for the paci gag to stay in save for when you're being feed, which will be bottle feeding of formula, and I've okayed them spanking you if you get out of line. I ALSO.." and malcore gave a evil little grin. "Told them how much you loooove sitting in poopie diapers..so asked that they let you sit in everyone for at least half a hour." at this Malcore reached in and patted Des's head, as she glared and shook, going red in the face and trying to yell at him. "Aww, no need to thank me, your my BABY sister after all, i just want you to be happy. and who knows, Maybe mom and dad will decide to extend their cruise and I'll pay out of my own pocket for you to stay awhile longer." Des was whimpering and whining now, shaking her head. "Des calm down, we both know you're going to enjoy the hell out of this, this is exactly what you wanted. I'm just giving it to you for longer then you wanted. I promise I'll come and visit you every couple of days." Malcore said and patted her head. Des whined and trying to pull away, but the head pats apparently felt nice and she relaxed. Maybe she relaxed a little too much as a wet bubbly fart escaped and the back of her diaper started to puff out. "heh, and that's my cue to leave. Bye bye baby des. Have fun~" Malcore coo'ed and walked away, stopping at the door. "and remember, big brother loves you~" he said with a wink, then walked out as Des did the only thing she could. and finished loading her diapies.

A rogue storm had her presumed dead and stranded on the red planet. Left on her own, astronaut Aelin Galathynius has four years to make it to the next drop-site, some two thousand miles. Armed with her smarts and dwindling supplies, Aelin attempts to survive on an inhospitable planet, when the nearest help is only millions of miles away.

“Commander, Rukhin probe approaching.”
“Copy that, Major. Ready for docking.”
Elide had her headset on and was in the rec room, wearing Lorcan’s hoodie and a pair of his sweats, anxiously watching out the window as he guided the probe into the docking station, tethered to the outside of the ship in his extravehicular - EVA - suit.
Everyone else was on the flight deck, but she wasn’t needed there. As she fiddled with her ring, her brows knitting together, she listened to Lorcan, “Probe has docked. Looking good, Major.”
“Roger that, Commander.” Fenrys’ voice was cool and smooth – this was really where he thrived. “And… docking is complete. Nice work everyone.”
There were a few quiet cheers and Elide let out a long breath, smiling softly and waving at Lorcan as he caught her gaze and bowed as best as he could in outer space. She giggled and pressed her hand to the glass, “We got it, guys.” Elide kept her eyes on him and she could make out two dimples on his cheeks - a smile just for her.
Fenrys let loose a howl and soon, they were all joining in, their frayed nerves soothed by the success.

Aelin was sitting on top of the modified rover-wagon. It looked like a Blackbeak caravan made of billion-dollar equipment. Her eyes found the teeny tiny camera in her helmet and she addressed it, speaking thoughtfully. “It’s now day four-sixty-one.” She nodded to the hill a few kilometres away, “The FAV’s just over that hill. I’ve been doing a lot of thinking on my drive. Well, it was either that or panic about the decaying radioactive battery riding shotgun so…”
She trailed off, looking at the red sand hills. “There’s this treaty that says that no country can lay claim on any land that’s not on Earth. TNSB owns the hab, and these rovers. But the second I step out of either one, there’s this other treaty that states if you aren’t in any country’s territory, maritime land applies. Which means that Farnor is international waters.”
She hopped down, eyes roving over the load vehicles that carried all that was keeping her alive. The oxygenator, the atmosphere regulator, the water reclaimer, and hundreds of frozen cooked potatoes were all squared away. Aelin had never been this organized; Elide would be proud. “Now, I’m travelling from the Anascaul crater to Mistward.
“I’ve crossed international waters to commandeer a vehicle and no one explicitly gave me permission to do so, so technically, that makes me a pirate.”
A wicked grin split her face in two, “A space pirate.”
Eventually, the rover had charged and Aelin was back in the driver’s seat, steadily making her way over the last three kilometres. It was a weird feeling.
Everywhere she went, she was the first. Billions of years and now… Aelin. The only person who had ever been alone on a planet. She didn’t like to think of it too much, it caused her heart to grow with an ache she couldn’t place and winded her under the knowledge that she could very well never make it off the face of this earth.

“Sartaq?”
The rocket scientist looked up at Gavriel, slightly grainy through the video call, “Oh, Gavriel. Hi.”
“Hi,” Gavriel answered him slowly, apprehensive. “Is everything alright?”
Sartaq and Manon, from her perch on the edge of his desk, exchanged a wary look before Sartaq answered, “We just want to start this off by saying you won’t like it.”
Gavriel really, really didn’t want to know. “…what is it? Manon?”
The white-haired woman looked uneasy and unnerved, “Well, thing is…” she trailed off as Luca popped into the frame, scaring Gavriel halfway to an early grave.
“Oh, hey, man! What’s popping?”
“Hello, Luca, how are you?”
“I’m great, my guy, this RPL lab is pretty dope and I got to see my dads so that’s pretty sick – thanks for flying me out and everything.”
“Luca. The plan?” Manon prompted him, her exasperation clear. Gavriel was sure the only reason Luca was still alive was that Manon had found a new pet in him, as if that terrifying snake of hers – Abraxos – wasn’t enough.
“Right! Ok, so first things first, the FAV won’t have enough speed to zoom up to The Lani, you heard?” Sartaq, ever peaceful Sartaq, looked ready to strangle the boy. “Shit needs to be, like, a lot lighter. Five tonnes, to be exact.”
“You can do that?”
“‘T’s really not that complicado, I swear.” The astrodynamicist turned to the model of the FAV and began pulling things out, carelessly tossing them to the side. “We can get rid of five chairs, cause it’s just… Manon, what’s that chick’s name again?” He really didn’t mean any offence by it, he had a bad memory for names. It took him six months to remember Vaughan’s name and stop referring to him as ‘boss man’.
Manon just sighed deeply and pinched the bridge of her nose, “Aelin, Luca. Her name is Aelin.”
“Ooh, that do be kinda sick though,” was Luca’s response. “I can dig that.” He returned to the task at hand, “Then, the FAV is designed for five-hundred grams of Farnorian soil and rock samples, obviously, we won’t have that so we’re already speeding.”
Manon gave Gavriel a long-suffering look as Luca continued, “Then, we ditch life support, Aelin can just be in her heavy-duty suit-“
“EVA, Luca, we told you it’s EVA.”
“Whatever, she can be in it and we don’t need life support.”
Gavriel frowned, “How’s she going to fly the rocket if she’s in her EVA?”
“She won’t, Marama will remotely control it,” Manon told him bluntly.
“We’ve never had a remotely controlled manned ship before.” Luca’s face fell slightly and Gavriel hastily added, “but I’m excited for the opportunities… it presents.”
The boy’s face lit up again and he smiled, “Word, I feel you. This means we can get rid of the control panels and all that other stuff like telemetry, comms-“
“What. Remotely controlled with- with no backups?”
Manon nodded, “Yeah, we haven’t even got to the bad stuff.” Gavriel’s face paled and she turned to Luca, urging him on, “Go on, tell him.”
“We kinda… have to remove the nose airlock and the windows and the hull.”
The mission director choked, slamming his knee into the underside of his desk, “You want to send her into space without the front of her ship?” He addressed his words to Sartaq.
“The nose alone is four hundred grams.”
Gavriel stood up, spreading his arms, “You’re sending her into space without the front of her ship! A hole!”
“Mmm, not a hole, she can cover it with hab tarp.” Gavriel just hung his head in his hands as Sartaq continued, shooing Luca to the side, “The hull is really there to keep the air out, but Farnor’s atmosphere is so thin, she really won’t need that much streamlining.”
“You’re sending her into space under a tarp, Sartaq.”
“Yes.”
“There aren't any other options, are there?”
“Nope.”
“Who wants to tell her?”
Manon shook her head, “That’s all you, Gav.”
Gavriel scowled, accusing her, “I thought you were Flight and Crew Director, Ms. Blackbeak.”
She just shrugged, “Best get to it. Aelin’s not a patient woman.”
+*+*+*+*+*+*
Aelin was staring out the front window of the rover with a blank look as she ate her daily portion of rations. “I know what they’re doing. I know what they’re doing. They keep telling me that I’ll ‘travel faster than any person in the history of space’, like it’s a good thing, like it’ll distract me from the fucking LUNACY OF THEIR IDEA!”
She thought hard, “They’re sending me into space in a gods-damned convertible. Actually, it’s worse, because my controls are in Fenrys Marama’s hands. Fucking idiot didn’t even have enough sense to knock up his girl after what was originally a nineteen-month mission.”
Scowling at the dash, Aelin added, “By the way, when describing things like speed and velocity, physicists don’t use the word ‘fast’, ok? They’re just saying it in the hopes that I’ll like how it sounds. ‘Fastest person in space travel’. Well, you know what?”
Aelin drank from her water bottle and wiped her mouth with the back of her hand, “I do like it. I like it a lot, actually.”
With a heavy sigh, she shook her head and threw her hands up, “Alright, lets do this.”
+*+*+*+*+*+*
Aelin dropped the wrench on the floor of the hollowed-out FAV, an entertained gleam in her eyes. “Ok, that was really fun.” She looked up at the sky through the hole in the FAV, where the nose had once been, as if she would be able to spot The Lani, “I’m coming, guys. Wait for me, ok?”
Exhausted, Aelin carefully made her way down the hatch and hopped to the ground, walking slowly over to her caravan, ready for one last night.
+*+*+*+*+*+*
The crew had been tense all day, jittery for the rescue. It had finally arrived and they were all in the flight deck as Lorcan read off the plans once more, “Faliq, you’ll SysOp the ascent, Marama – piloting The Lani. Lochan and Whitethorn, I want you at the airlock before she’s even begun countdown, got it?”
“Got it – I want her in the med bay immediately after intercept, she’ll probably be unconscious and may have internal bleeding.” There were so many other things she would need to be checked out for and Rowan had it all set up, every scenario planned out – even surgery.
Lorcan continued, “When we reach intercept, it’s on Whitethorn to get her. If anything, anything goes wrong, Lochan, you’re going out after them.”
“Copy that, Commander.”
“Alright. We ready?”
The only response was, “Yes, sir.”
“Roger that, crew. Let’s go get our girl, huh?” Big smiles were on everyone’s face as Fenrys and Lorcan let loose military whoops.
+*+*+*+*+*+*
Manon slipped into the locked Mission Control, sliding into her seat beside Asterin and kissing her cousin’s brow as they prayed quickly. She snapped on her headset and reached for Asterin’s hand, holding tightly as she calmed herself and began flight, “Lani, this is Flight. You are good to go.”
Nesryn’s voice crackled through the comms, “Copy that, Flight. Lani is commencing de-acceleration… Engine alignment is perfect, fuel pressure green.”
The room let out a pent-up breath and Nesryn continued with her assessment, “Communications five by five…”
Lorcan spoke to Aelin, “About two minutes away, G-Money. How you feeling?” Everyone laughed at the nickname; it was beyond soothing for the stranded astronaut.
Her voice was broken and tight, “It’s good to hear your voice, Commander. Ready to get up to you guys.” Words failed her and she swallowed before continuing, “Thank you for coming back for me; I miss you.”
The crew chuckled tearfully and Lorcan answered her, “We miss you too, Ace. Remember, you’re facing twelve G’s, it’s ok if you pass out, yeah? You’re in Marama’s hands now.”
“Tell that dipshit no barrel-rolls.”
Lorcan’s laughter barked across the radios, “Scout’s honour. CAPCOM…”
Nesryn’s voice was filled with laughter, “Go.”
“Remote control…”
“Go,” said Fenrys.
“Recovery…”
Elide and Rowan answered simultaneously, “Go.”
And finally, “Pilot…”
“Go already, you bastard.”
“Copy that, Galathynius. Flight, this is Lani actual, we are go for launch and will proceed on schedule.”
“Roger that, Lani. This is Flight, Mission control is a go, commencing in t-minus ten seconds,” Manon replied, utterly unashamed of the tears flowing down her cheeks. She reached over and turned on the timer controller, the countdown commencing.
+*+*+*+*+*+*
Lorcan was overseeing the flight deck as they listened to the timer controller. “Marama?”
“Main engines start.”
“Copy. Faliq?”
“Clamps releasing… SysOps is a go.”
+*+*+*+*+*+*
Aelin tensed in anticipation as the timer counted down and the crew began the plan. “See you in a few, Commander.”
The rocket blasted off and she was slammed back into her acceleration seat. The wind was knocked out of her, she couldn’t even gasp as the FAV launched with incredible force. The ship shook violently and she fought to remain conscious, her eyes fluttering shut.
The canvas ripped free of the hull and the comms picked up again, the crew’s words falling on deaf ears, Aelin was lost on them. “Velocity is seven-forty-one metres per second. Altitude one-three-five-oh…”
+*+*+*+*+*+*
Lorcan shook his head, eyes flying over the screens, “That’s too low. Marama?”
“I know,” his voice tight as he struggled, “it’s fighting me—”
“Velocity eight-fifty, altitude one-eight-four three—”
Lorcan spoke into the radio, not daring to tear his eyes from the computer, “Galathynius? Galathynius do you copy?”
There was no answer and Nesryn said, “She’s still well below target.”
“How far?”
“Working on it… main shutdown in 3…2…1… Shutdown.”
Fenrys was fighting the controls, “Back to automatic guidance. Confirm shutdown.”
“Galathynius, do you read?”
Rowan’s voice came to life, “She just pulled twelve G’s on ascent, she’s probably passed out. Give her a few minutes, Flight Deck.”
“Copy that, Whitethorn.” Lorcan turned to Nesryn, “Faliq, what’s happening?”
The dark-haired woman took a moment to respond, “Intercept velocity will be eleven metres per second – Whitethorn?”
“I can make it work,” Rowan confirmed, determined.
“Roger, distance at intercept will be—” Nesryn went pale, feeling sick to her stomach. “We’ll be fifty-seven kilometres apart.”
Silence fell over the radios.
“Wait, wait, wait,” Rowan said, “did you say fifty-seven kilometres? Kilometres?”
“Gods save her…” Fenrys whispered, a horrified look twisting his face.
Lorcan’s voice brought everyone back, “Keep it together. Work the problem. We got any power in the FAV?”
“Negative, Commander. Ditched the boosters to make launch weight.”
“Then we go to her. Faliq, time to intercept?”
“Thirty-eight minutes, seventeen seconds.”
“What happens if we point all our thrusters in the same direction,” he asked. “Marama?”
Fenrys did calculations in his head, tilting his chin up as he took in the remaining fuel levels. “Depends on how much fuel we want to save for course adjustments on the flight home.”
“And you need how much?”
“Mmm, I can get by on twenty percent of what we have left.”
“Faliq?”
Nesryn was already working on it and answered Lorcan quickly, “Using seventy-five point five of what’s left, I can completely close the altitude gap—”
“Do it.”
“Hang on, the intercept velocity will be forty-two metres per second.”
It was too fast, Rowan wouldn’t be able to grab her. Lorcan would deal with that in thirty-nine minutes, then. “We’ll figure it out. Marama, burn the jets.”
The ship lurched as Fenrys followed commands and the jets burned, boosting them forward.
A small voice was heard over the radio and Lorcan caught the last part of it, “…fuck you, Farnor.”
“Galathynius?!”
“Affir… affirmative, Commander.”
“Status.”
“Ch… chest hurts. Breathing hurts,” it was her ribs. Aelin had been flung around the FAV during her ascent. “How, how are you?”
Of course, Aelin was still worried about them. “We’re good, Pilot. Working to get to you. There was a complication during launch.”
Her voice was so weak, it broke Lorcan’s heart. “Yeah, the… canvas didn’t… didn’t hold.”
“That checks out, Galathynius.”
“…bad is it?” The radios were weaving in and out.
“Intercept range is perfect. We’re working on intercept velocity, there’s a problem.”
“How big?”
“Forty-two metres big.” Aelin didn’t respond and Nesryn checked the comms, indicating they were still good to go. “Aelin?”
“You know,” she began, as if they were having a casual conversation, “I watched all the Marvel movies you brought. My favourite’s Iron Man, are you surprised? I could find something sharp in here and pierced my EVA’s glove, as a thruster. The source is on my arm, so I can direct.”
Lorcan blinked a few times, not sure he’d heard her correctly, “Um, I don’t see you having any control over that – you’d be eyeballing and using a barely-controlled thrust vector.”
“All good points but consider this: I would get to fly around like Iron Man.”
Fenrys just shook his and laughed quietly, “We should’ve left her on Farnor.”
“Um, you did leave me on Farnor and Iron Man, Commander. Iron Man.”
“Ace, just shut up for a second, Hellas.” Lorcan looked at the far wall, “Maybe it’s not the worst idea.”
Fenrys shot him a look, incredulous, “You know, it actually is. The worst idea possible.” The rest of the crew chorused their agreement – it was ludicrous.
“No, not her idea, but using atmosphere as thrust.” Lorcan’s eyes widened, “Elide, El, El, El.”
“Yes?”
“No, not actually you, Nes, pull up El’s station.”
“It’s up – what do you need?”
Lorcan crossed his arms and leaned against the control desk, “I need to know what would happen if we blew the VAL.”
“…the vehicular airlock?”
He shrugged, “Yeah, it’d give us a good kick.”
“And blow off the nose of our ship. And all the air would leave. We need air, Lorcan,” Elide reminded him, “to not die.” He’s a mechanical engineer, for gods’ sakes. Shouldn’t he know this? Elide thought.
“Seal the bridge and reactor room. Everything else becomes a vacuum.”
“It would get intercept velocity down to thirteen metres per second,” Nesryn said, seeing the logic of his idea.
“How do we open the airlock doors, though? We can’t control them remotely and if anyone’s near them when it blows…”
“Lochan?”
“Yes?”
“Take off your spacesuit.”
“…why.”
“I need you to build a bomb.”
Aelin’s voice cut in before Elide could reply, “Wait, bomb? You’re exploding things…without me?”
They ignored her as Elide asked, “Come again, L?”
“You’re a chemist and a fucking weirdo – no offence, babe – can you make a bomb with what we have onboard?”
“None taken,” she quipped, “I’m obligated to tell you that setting off an explosive device on a spacecraft is a terrible, terrible idea.”
“Copy. Can you do it?”
Elide thought for a few seconds, “Yeah, I can do it.”
“Good, get going. Faliq, meet Lochan in the rec room and transport the bomb to Whitethorn – I want you to meet Faliq at airlock and attach the bomb to the inner door of airlock one Then, make your way back to airlock two along the hull, copy?”
“Copy.”
“Perranth, be advised: we are going to deliberately breach the VAL to produce thrust.”
Before Mission Control could answer, Aelin piped up, “Commander, I can’t let you do this. You see, I’m selfish – all the memorials back home should be about me. I don’t need any of you losers ruining my rep.” She panted, “Call it off.”
“Oh. Okay. Well, if you want us to call it off, then I guess we have to- oh wait... wait a minute. Yep. I’m looking at my shoulder patch and it turns out I’m Commander. So shut up.”
“Fu...fucking smart ass.”
+*+*+*+*+*+*
Nesryn entered the rec room, spying Elide where she was pouring a bag of sugar into a beaker. “Bomb?”
“Yup.” Elide couldn’t speak much, she was pretty busy at the moment. She still managed to tell Nesryn about her project, “In a pure oxygen environment, it’ll release sixteen point seven million Joules for every kilo of sugar used. Eight times stronger than a stick of dynamite.”
“Neith above, you terrify me.”
Elide grinned evilly, looking like a mad scientist as she poured pure oxygen into the beaker and screwed the cap on, doing something with stripped copper wires. “She’s ready.” Elide carefully passed the bomb over to Nesryn, “Run this to the lighting panel, ok?”
+*+*+*+*+*+*
The bomb was set and everything was in place. They braced for the thrust as an explosion rocked the ship, sending them backwards.
As the ship stabilized, Fenrys, Nesryn, Elide, and Lorcan, scrambled back to their spots and Fenrys swore, “It’s still too far, three-hundred metres?”
“Oh, great,” Aelin commented, “I’ll just wave at you as I fly by.”
“Bridge seal is holding, Commander, first inspections reads minimal damage.”
“Copy that, Whitethorn, where are you?”
“I’m in airlock two, Commander, in the MMU and going for intercept on your command.” Rowan would have to go after her in the Manned Maneuvering Unit - MMU for short.
“Roger that, go recovery.” They were still too far, “Faliq, what’s our-“
“Lorcan. I’m doing it,” Aelin said, her voice hard. Before anyone knew what was happening, there came a hissing sound and Aelin soared through the FAV’s nose, one arm stretched towards them and the other behind her like Iron Man. She struggled to keep upright and kicked her legs.
“Shit, Faliq, current velocity?” They were all of the edges of their seats.
“Calculating… twelve metres per second… seven metres per second… five point two… three point one,” her heart was in her throat as she watched the rescue.
“Distance to target?”
“Ten metres.”
+*+*+*+*+*+*
Rowan’s heart cracked as the distance was told, he could reach her, he could get to her. The tether was long enough.
She looked to him, those brilliant eyes of hers grounding him. Rowan angled the controls to her, jerking back in the MMU when the tether pulled taut. What, no no no. It was caught, it had to be caught, he was sure of it. “Fuck, fuck,” Elide was on her way to the airlock but she wouldn’t be able to help. She was still too far. “The tether, it’s caught on something - it’s caught.”
He saw it in Aelin’s eyes as she heard him and she smiled at him. He hated the smile, soft and accepting. It was her goodbye.
“It’s ok, Ro,” she said, acceptance in her words, “let me go.”
“No. No,” he shouted the word over and over, not believing it. “Aelin, no, you can’t do this-“
“It’s ok, Rowan. Let me go.”
“I’m not letting you go – we didn’t get any time-“ his breath hitched as tears grew in his chest, “I love you, you can’t let go.”
There was nothing anyone could do. Aelin had made up her mind.

Love, Change and The DropBack || The DropBack || Shawn Mendes
Description: After Shawn finally confronts you about what’s going on between the two of you, you find yourself going to the one person you know will know what to do. David.
A/N: here it is my babes. grab ur tissues. I got choked up while writing this. honestly I'm too connected to this story and I want it to go on forever and ever but unfortunately, there are only two parts left after this :( but I hope you love this so so much bc I really loved writing this chapter...also we love Alex. college boys am I right?
Word Count: 2.6k
This is part 8 of a series! Catch up before you read this part!
Shawn was never someone to get mad. He brushed everything off so easily. But as he slammed the door behind him after you left, it hit him how mad he was.
But how could he be mad? It wasn’t his fault. It wasn’t your fault. It was just how life was right now. And it sucked.
He stormed up to his room and tugged at his hair as he paced back and forth. Not knowing if he should’ve chased after you, tried harder, made you stay.
He finally sat on the edge of the bed and rested his head in his hands, trying to rub the headache away.
He was clicking on Matthew’s contact before letting himself think too much.
“Hey, man, what’s up?” Matthew said happily through the phone, like always.
“I don’t know,” Shawn mumbled. He sighed and laid back on his bead. “I don’t know what the fuck is going on.”
“What’s going on? Isn’t [Y/N] with you?” Matthew questioned.
“She just left,” he said quietly.
“Why? What happened?”
“I think I fucked up,” he paused and took a deep breath. “We were talking about college and the future and..” he trailed off, “us. We were talking about us. And then we were fighting. And then she cried and she left.”
“She cried?” Matthew said with a concerned voice.
“Yeah, she cried,” Shawn said feeling the guilt hit him.
“Do you know if she went home?” Matthew asked.
“I don’t know. She just left,” Shawn said.
“Listen, Shawn, this isn’t your fault,” Matthew started.
“It sure does feel like that,” he mumbled.
“Cut that out. You know all that [Y/N] has been through. She doesn’t take stuff like this very easily. She just needs time. She’s not just never going to talk to you again. She’ll take a minute. Take a step back. Figure everything out. And then she’ll come back. She doesn’t leave people very easily,” Matthew explained.
“Should I call her?” Shawn said quickly.
“No. Don’t,” Matthew said just as fast. “Let her think this through and figure things out. She’ll be calling you before you know it.”
“I hope,” Shawn mumbled, turning to lay on his side, glancing at his open laptop with a picture that Elsie took of him lifting you up in the air with you laughing and a big smile on his face at a playoff game a few weeks ago. “Can I tell you something? You can’t tell anyone. Not Elsie. Not [Y/N]. Definitely not [Y/N]. No one.”
---
You felt your eyes start to close about an hour into the drive when you remembered that you definitely didn’t sleep last night and hadn’t had an ounce of caffeine yet. You found the nearest cafe and ordered a coffee-to-go. You found a seat at a table near the pick-up counter and looked at your phone for the first time all day. You couldn’t tell if you wanted to see Shawn’s name on the screen or not. It wasn’t.
You pushed the feelings back again and typed out a quick message to Elsie, but you couldn’t figure out what even to tell her. So, instead, you just called her.
She picked up on the second ring, “Hey, are you ok?”
“No,” you mumbled.
“What’s wrong? Where are you? Aren’t you with Shawn?” she asked.
You looked around at the cafe, “To be honest, El, I have no idea where I am. Some cafe on the freeway heading southbound.”
“Are you going to see David?”
“You know me too well.”
“So, I’m assuming things with Shawn didn’t go so well,” she said softly, in that concerned voice you rarely heard come from her.
“No, they didn’t,” you said simply, not wanting to relive it quite yet.
“David will know what to say,” Elsie said.
“He always does,” you said. The woman called out your name and set your iced coffee down on the counter.
“I’ve gotta go, El. I’ll call you when I’m home,” you said as you stood up from your table.
“And when will that be?” she asked.
“Um, either before dinner or in two to three days,” you said, grabbing your coffee and making your way back to your car.
“You do what you have to do. I’ll be waiting here when you’re done,” she said.
“You’re the best. I’ll talk to you soon, bye,” you hung up the phone and hopped back into your car.
You pulled up your text messages with your mom and sent out a quick text letting her know you last minute decided to go visit David.
You were on the road again in less than fifteen minutes, taking the all too familiar route to your brother’s apartment a few blocks away from the main campus.
Your mind stayed empty for most of the ride. Your hands would shake every once in a while, mostly whenever you let yourself feel guilty and regretful. Before you were able to let yourself think too far into it, you were pulling up in front of David’s.
You hadn’t told him you were coming because you knew if you did, he’d be sending you home to go fix things. And you weren’t ready to fix things.
You knocked harshly on his apartment door and crossed your arms while you waited for him. The door swung open, and you were met with his roommate Alex. He gave you a confused look.
“[Y/N]? I didn’t know you were visiting this weekend,” he said with a smile as he let you in. You tried to return the smile and followed him inside. “How are things going?” he asked.
You shrugged your shoulders and looked at him, “They’ve been better.”
He nodded in agreement before shuffling into the kitchen.
“Hey, who was at the-“ David cut himself off as he looked at you.
He could tell you hadn’t slept from a mile away. He could also tell that you had been crying.
“Oh no,” he mumbled. Without saying another word, he had an arm wrapped around you, leading you to the balcony on the far end of his apartment. He shut the door behind him and pulled you in for a tight hug as you cried into his chest. You were really feeling the regret now.
“You’re fine. You’re going to be ok,” he whispered as he patiently waited for you to stop crying. In the meantime, Alex had cracked the door open and handed David a few waters and a beer (“whatever one she’s feeling”).
After a few minutes, you pulled away and sat across from David on the half-broken lawn chairs. He handed you the water, and you took a few drinks before trying to control your breathing.
“What happened?” David asked softly.
You sighed and wiped your face before saying, “Shawn. Shawn Mendes happened.”
David sighed and crossed his arms. “I swear to God if he broke your heart-“
You cut him off. “No, Dave. I broke his,” you said a little too harshly.
“I’m going to need a little more detail.”
You let out a huff and pulled your leg to your chest, resting your chin on your knee.
“He really likes me,” you said as you looked over at David and your tears started to well up again. “And I think I really like him, but I can’t even tell what these feelings are. And he wants to go to Penn State which is so far from here, and I got this feeling in my gut that I’ve never felt before. Like I was going to lose him. But I barely even have him? Like it’s only been two months, and he’s all ready to move back to the east coast. Just like that.”
David shrugged his shoulders and nodded along to what you were saying.
“And then we were fighting,” you stopped talking and looked out past the balcony, trying to admire the campus that was going to be yours in less than a year.
“Fighting about what?” David questioned.
You looked at him and your mind went blank, “I don’t know,” you whispered before shaking your head. “Everything? College and what we are and the future and my life plans and home and everything, David. It was everything,” you said as you buried your head in your hands again and tried to breathe.
David reached our and rubbed your back as you composed yourself and started talking again.
“I can’t do this,” you said a little angrily. “This wasn’t the plan. I was going to get through my senior year with Elsie and Matthew, and I was going to graduate and come here and start my future. On my own. This wasn’t supposed to happen.”
“Plans change,” David said simply.
“This one wasn’t supposed to. Everything is always changing, and this was supposed to be the one thing that didn’t,” you choked out as your throat went dry.
“What do you mean?” He pried.
“I mean that we’ve been between two houses for as long as I can remember. That Mom and Dad can’t even be in the same room when at some point they used to be in love. Those shitty friends I had freshman year that used to mean everything to me until they ruined me. Every style I have ever had. Any number on your football jersey. Transferring schools in the middle of third grade. Splitting up clothes between two houses or having to pack to go to what was supposed to be a home to us. One minute, Mom’s there, the next she’s not. Same with Dad. You’re here. And you’re not back home. It all is always changing, and I thought my senior year would finally be different, but it wasn’t,” you said, trying not to shout as you got angry.
“And I don’t think I even know what love is,” you said, annoyed. “Because apparently Mom and Dad had none of that.”
“They did at some point,” David reminded you.
“But it wasn’t forever,” you reminded him. “What if love isn’t actually forever? What if I risk it all for him and then it’s two years later and I don’t feel the same way anymore?” you said softly, and paused before you said what you were actually scared of. “What if I’m just not capable of love?”
“[Y/N], is that really what you think?” David said with that concerned big brother look on his face.
“What if I’m just not meant to fall in love?”
“You’re eighteen. You’ve got your whole life ahead of you.”
“You’ve only had one girlfriend, and you dumped her after five months because she told you that she loved you and you didn’t feel the same way,” you said as you pointed at him.
“That’s irrelevant.”
“Is it? Because it sounds to me like you weren’t in love.”
“I wasn’t, but that doesn’t mean I never will be,” he said calmly.
“But what if?”
“The world is full of what-ifs. You can’t base every decision off of that,” he said as he motioned with his arms.
“What if we never learned to really love because of Mom and Dad? Have you ever thought about that?” You asked him.
“Yeah,” he said quietly, “For a long time. But I realized I’m young. And I know what’s meant for me will come when the time is right.”
You scoffed and leaned your head back on the chair, closing your eyes for a moment.
“Are you scared?” He said as he watched you carefully.
“Terrified,” you whispered.
It went quiet for a few minutes. The only things you could hear were the cars driving below you, an occasional shout from the apartment next door and Alex watching some show in the living room.
“I remember when Dad stormed out that one night, a few weeks before they told us they were getting a divorce. And Mom wouldn’t leave her room, no matter how many times we knocked. You eventually found your way into my room and we laid on my bed and just stared at those dumb plastic glow in the dark stars on my ceiling. I asked you if you were scared. And you said no,” he recalled.
“I don’t remember that,” you said.
“I’ll never forget it,” he said as he stopped looking at you for a minute. “You’ve never been scared of anything. You’ve always taken change head-on and pushed through it. And even if you were scared, you always hid it. No one ever knew. When Mom and Dad got divorced, I’d have to be the one to ask your teachers how you were doing since Mom and Dad clearly weren’t doing anything. But they always said the same thing. You were doing just fine. Yeah, sometimes you were dramatic,” he paused as you rolled your eyes and he laughed at you, “but you always carried on. To see you visibly scared because of your feelings for Shawn, now that’s what scares me.”
“What do I do?” You said under your breath.
“You have to make a decision. You’re the quarterback. You were just handed the ball. What are you going to do with it?” David asked.
“Well, I was going to run, but now everything - everyone - is right in front of me, and I’m probably about to fumble it,” you mumbled.
“There are always other options,” he said.
“Like what, Dave?” You asked, entertaining his analogy.
“Sometimes when you don’t see the opening you want or initially planned on, you’ve just gotta drop back and go for it,” he paused, “and not think about those other players coming at you. It’s you, the ball, and the wide receiver sprinting down the field.”
You just looked at him with your eyebrows knit together.
“[Y/N], if you have these feelings for Shawn, it doesn’t matter about the other factors that are clouding in front of you. The schools, our parents, graduation, the future. None of it matters except for you, Shawn and the feelings you two clearly have for each other,” he said as he leaned forward in his seat and rested his elbows on his knees. “Elsie, Matthew and I are on your team, and we can try to fend off these factors as long as we can, but we’re losing momentum. Time is ticking. Those factors are coming closer and becoming more real. But Shawn is down that field, waiting for you to realize he’s open and to throw that ball to him, so he can make another one of his multiple, amazing touchdowns,” he paused, and you laughed at him. “You have to throw him the ball because if you fumble it, you’re definitely losing this game. But if you throw it, and Shawn catches it, then you have that much greater of a chance of winning it.”
You didn’t say anything for a minute as you let this all sink in.
“You’re right,” you mumbled as you kept staring forward.
You heard him laugh before he said, “Like always.”
You let yourself smile a little as you looked back at him.
“Mom and Dad really fucked us up, huh?” He said with a smile.
You rolled your eyes at him and pressed your cheek to your knee.
“We sure had some great love role models,” you mumbled with an eye roll.
“But you’ve got Elsie and Matthew,” he reminded you.
You nodded your head, “Yeah, they like to remind me of that a lot.”
The two of you sat in silence for a while, just staring at the fall colors around you.
“So, what’s the plan?” He asked after a few moments of silence.
“I’m going to drop back. I’m going to go for it. I have to.”

Worry and Care

Virgil sat by himself in the crowded auditorium, waiting patiently. Patton spotted him and went over, kissing his forehead and combing his bangs out of his eyes with a smile.
“Doing alright kiddo?” he hummed.
“Mhm,” Virgil said, nodding.
“Perfect. I promise it won’t be too long ok? Just an hour or so. I packed your coloring book and crayons in my bag and the restroom is out that door and down the hall,” Patton told his 6 year old son, pointing to everything he was mentioning. This was met with another nod.
“It’s alright if you go to the bathroom if your anxiety becomes too much ok? Please remember that, Daddy won’t be mad at you.”
“I’ll be ok, Daddy,” Virgil said, subtly dodging the statement, his eyes averting from Patton’s.
“Virgil, look at me please?”
Virgil’s warm and innocent brown eyes looked back up.
“It’s ok even if it’s just bothering you the tiniest bit. I’m not going to be mad. I’d never be upset with you when it comes to your anxiety, I know it’s hard for you to handle and understand, kiddo.”
Patton got a nod back and he smiled more, seeing the lights of the auditorium flicker on and off. “Oh, that’s me!” he whispered quietly as he kissed Virgil’s nose before running off to wait backstage for his introduction.
Virgil knew that his dad was giving a speech on something involving his work. Virgil didn’t really understand what the speech was about but he knew that his dad had been really excited to bring him.
Everything started out fine. Everything was quiet aside from the speakers on stage. Then there were tiny noises here and there. A cough, feet shuffling, papers crinkling as they were adjusted between hands and passed to each other so as to look at the program, another cough, another crinkle.
It was ok.
A few whispers.
Still would be ok.
A laugh at something said on stage and more whispers.
Virgil took out his coloring book, no longer paying attention to what was going on. Or at least trying to.
It was when Patton was finally onstage that it happened. As usual, he was cracking jokes, earning laughs but still keeping to the focus of his speech. He threw out a question and people started to respond.
Everything went from quiet to loud and then quiet again.
Quiet.
A cough.
Laughter.
Loud.
People settling down.
A couple behind him whispering to each other.
And Virgil’s mind went totally blank when everything had quieted down and Patton was done with his jokes to continue on a more serious tone for the latter part of his speech. He had only spoken for five minutes. His speech was twenty.
And Virgil needed out.
Fast.
He silently tried to slip out of the auditorium. By the time he got to the doors Patton had said led to the bathroom, he sprinted.
He didn’t stop at the bathrooms though. He kept running down the hallway. He ran to a door that led outside. He sprinted a few streets before his lungs were burning. He felt hot tears rolling down his cheeks as he gasped for breath. A panic attack started and he threw up on the sidewalk.
Patton shook hands with many of the people at the event, engaging in a few quick conversations. He excused himself from one to go find Virgil. He didn’t find his son in the seat and Patton’s bag was still sitting there, Virgil’s Nightmare Before Christmas coloring book placed on the seat. Patton packed the book back in the bag and slung it over his shoulder, going to the bathroom.
“Virgil? Sweetheart?” Patton asked softly. He knew Virgil would be shaken up considering his anxiety causing him to panic enough for him to come here. There was no response.
“Virgil?”
Patton didn’t hear a response still and took a deep breath. It was ok, he assured himself that Virgil was fine as he went back out, asking around if anybody had seen a little boy in a faded black hoodie. He didn’t see Virgil in the time he was asking around. He checked the bathroom again and then the space that surrounded the building.
Nothing.
Patton was panicking now.
He went through streets surrounding the area, shouting for Virgil.
“Virgil, kiddo, where are you!?” he called out.
Another street.
“Virgil!”
Yet another.
“Kiddo, please! Please be safe!”
Another.
“Virgil!!! Baby!!!”
Patton was hysterical with tears when he heard panicked breathing. He quickly ran to it and found Virgil tucked in between two buildings.
“Oh my gosh, Virgil!” he quietly exclaimed, scooping his son up. A sob and more panicked breaths from Virgil. Patton shook, sobbing too as he held on to Virgil tightly.
Eventually Virgil was gripping into Patton’s nicely pressed polo shirt, desperately trying to ground himself. Patton kissed his hair and rubbed his back as he heard Virgil doing his breathing exercises.
“Good, that’s so good Virgil, that’s it. In for four..”
That was done.
“Hold for seven..”
Virgil shook a little as another little cry threatened to bubble up but he held it.
“Out for eight..”
Virgil went slack and buried his face into Patton’s chest.
“You’re safe, Virgil, it’s all ok. Daddy’s got you, Daddy’s got you...”
“I-I’m sorry,” Virgil quietly whimpered, more tears welling up in his eyes.
“Virgil honey, for what?” Patton asked, tilting Virgil’s head up so they were looking at each other. Virgil started to shake.
“I ruined everything!” he sobbed out miserably. “I-I couldn’t even- I didn’t even stay, Daddy!”
Patton held him close, keeping his tone calm and level. “Virgil, I’m absolutely not upset with you, you didn’t do anything wrong.”
“I ran away!!” Virgil’s voice broke.
“Virgil, you were scared, Daddy’s never mad at you for being scared. Your anxiety makes it harder, your audio sensitivities don’t help either. I understand that, I’m right here.”
“E-Everything got-“
A gasp for air.
“It got-“
A sob.
“It got so loud,” he whimpered, clinging to Patton again.
Patton cradled him. “I’m sorry that people were too loud.. I’m sorry that you had to go through that..”
Virgil hiccuped out a few quiet sobs.
“I’m sorry for being bad..”
“Virgil, you didn’t do anything bad. I was just worried, I don’t ever want to have a life without you and the memories you, Papa, and I make with each other. I just want to make sure you’ll be ok now,” he whispered.
Virgil just clung to his dad, sitting for a while.
“Ready to go now?”
A nod.
“Papa will be happy when he sees that we’re home, he and I will give you all the snuggles you want after we give you a bath ok?”
“Ok, Daddy..”
At home, Patton explained everything to Logan, frowning.
“He had a really bad night, I’m worried I didn’t do enough to help him get through it..” Patton sighed, casting his eyes down.
“Patton, we’re still learning how to best help Virgil with the sensory processing issues. There’s not much for us to go off of. I wish he didn’t have to deal with it but we can’t take it away so we just have to try our best to help him work through it and show him that we’re here to help,” Logan said calmly, cupping Patton’s cheeks. “You’re doing wonderfully, he’s doing wonderfully. We’re going to be ok, we’ll figure it out like we always do.”
Patton nodded and smiled softly. “I’m just worried about our baby, he’s dealing with so much and he’s not even 7 yet!”
“I know..” Logan sighed. “But we’re here for him. And I think there is something we can do to help him right now.”
“What is it?”
Logan smiled and went into his office, coming back with a jacket. It was black and all around it were patches of purple plaid stitched on with white thread.
“It’s done, oh he’s going to love it, Lo!”
They both had decided to get Virgil a new jacket to replace his tattered one but decided to add the patches reminiscent of Sally’s dress from The Nightmare Before Christmas. They both knew Virgil was in love with the movie and decided it would be something recognizable to their son. Hopefully he liked it.
“Hey bud, Papa and I have a little surprise for you,” Patton said softly, kissing Virgil’s damp hair as he came out of the bathroom, wrapped in a towel.
“What is it?” Virgil asked back just as quietly.
Logan sat in front of Virgil and revealed the jacket. Virgil gasped happily when he saw it and ran his fingers over the patch on the left shoulder.
He smiled brightly, seeing his name stitched on one edge of a patch with the white thread.
“It’s all yours, Virgil, we made it just for you,” Logan smiled, kissing his forehead too.
Virgil ran to his room to get changed and when he came out, Logan gave him the jacket, watching Virgil excitedly bounce.
Patton chuckled and scooped up Virgil as soon as he had it on. Logan joined the hug, sandwiching Virgil between him and his husband.
“We love you, Virgil, we’re going to do anything to take care of you,” Logan told him, kissing his hair again.

Hey guys. So usually I explain here exactly what inspired a piece if anything but I don’t feel it’s my place to discuss it this time.
I will say that I do actually have auditorial SPD and without mine having set rules, it’s extremely difficult to articulate. Going into what’s called sensory overload is basically like a panic attack for me minus difficulty breathing. I can’t think more often than not whenever I have an episode. And I always feel like I’m making it up in a way because I’m not officially diagnosed with it (probably due to lack of research and studies for SPD). But anyways, this is essentially how my SPD works and hence, how I wrote Virgil’s SPD. It’s actually pretty commonly linked with anxiety so I would definitely say that it’s not unreasonable for me to headcanon him having it.
Anyways, I hope you guys enjoyed it and please let me know what you thought of it, I love hearing from you guys as always

Baby Daddy (Ralph x reader) ANGST FIC
TRIGGER WARNING upon TRIGGER WARNING. There is no death or rape, BUT there is a sick child.
I wrote this story using experiences with my own child. I combined two occasions of her being hospitalized. It has a lot of feels so please be careful when you read it.
Rating: ANGST
Also if you would like to get a better understanding of how this story came to me here is the link that tells about my daughters story.
https://jay-wells-writes.tumblr.com/post/182701516912/something-different
It was a cold, how could this happen?
In just a few hours, your whole world had come crashing down on you and left you feeling empty. Sitting in the waiting room of the ER, you thought back to how your daughter had been fighting a bug that had been going around. For a week, she ran high fevers with some congestion and a small cough, that only affected her at night. Nothing that was overly concerning. When the fevers had started you took her to her doctors and everything sounded and looked good, but when her fevers continued Ralph had Caitlin look her over, and it was the same thing, everything was ok. She was just fighting off a bug. Then, a couple of days ago her fevers had stopped, thinking everything was getting back to normal Ralph had left for a case. Then this morning, you knew something was off. Your daughter had woken up and her fever was back and even higher than before, her breathing was coming in gasps almost like she had run a mile and couldn’t get her breath back, she uncomfortable.
Hopping into the car you rushed to the hospital where they took her right back, because of her being in great distress they asked you to stay in one of the rooms off of the waiting room, stating that they will come and talk to you in a few minutes. So for 20 minutes you sat there. Freaking out. Wanting to call Ralph but, not doing it. You knew that this case was very important to him and you didn’t want to call him and freak him out over what could be nothing.
At least that’s what you told yourself, but you had this funny feeling in the pit of your stomach that there was something more going on and it scared you. Eventually you saw a doctor come out onto the corridor, before making his way to the desk and then looking your way. As you get up to meet the doctor he stopped you by holding his hand up and made his way to you instead. Walking into the room he sat down across from you and held his hand out.
“Ms. Y/L/N? I am Doctor Smith, I am one of the emergency room pediatricians here. Can you tell me what happened and why you brought your daughter in today?”
“Well all week she had been fighting a high fever, staying around 102, so we kept switching between Tylenol and Ibuprofen. I took her to the doctors and they checked her over and said everything looked good, that it was probably just a bug and that it needed to run its course. The fever finally broke a couple of days ago and she had been acting ok, ‘till this morning. She woke up breathing really funny and her fever had come back, but was higher this time around, because of her breathing and the fact that she acted like she was in pain I just brought her here instead of calling her doctors.”
“When you brought your daughter in she was in great distress as you saw. Once we started to examine her we learned that her pulse ox was sitting around 55, because of her pulse ox being so low that in turn has caused her heart rate to become extremely high. Now normally an infant or child is consider good anywhere between 91 and 100, so naturally our first concern is to take an xray of her lungs and see if there is anything that might be causing this issue, like pneumonia. And it does in fact show that she does have pneumonia, i’m sorry to say it is a pretty severe case. It covers all of her left side and part of her right, because she was unable to breath on her own, we had to sedate her and place a breathing tube down her throat. We also placed a central line in, right now she is in a rough spot, but we see her pulling out of this with no complications. It just may take a couple of days to see a change in her condition. We are currently getting a room set up in the PICU for her as we speak, it shouldn’t be much longer. If you like I can take you back and you can sit with her while we wait for her to be moved.”
“Yes please.”
Getting up you follow the doctor to the back, walking into her room, you felt the air leave your lungs, as if someone had been waiting on the other side and hit you in the gut as you walked through the door. You could barely see your daughter in the bed, because she was surrounded around by wires and lines; and all were connected to her in some way. Even though she was close to a year old, she looked so small in the hospital bed. You wanted nothing more than to break down and cry, but you knew that it wasn’t the time for that. So smiling at the nurse who was looking over everything before they moved her, you walked up and gently ran your fingertips over her hand. Even as you kept yourself from crying, you felt a couple of tears run down your face.
“Here you go hunny.”, Looking up you saw that the nurse was holding out a box of kleenex out for you. Gripping a couple you dapped at your eyes, never taking your eyes off your daughter. “I know that it is killing you seeing her like this. But let me tell you, in all my years of doing this, I have learned that children are a lot stronger than any of us think they are, she’s a fighter, I can see it. Just have faith.”
Before you were able to ask her what made her so sure, the transport team had came to get your daughter, and it took all you had to not break down yet again. Instead of just the couple of transporters, you had a whole team of nurses and before you could even register what was going on they had your daughter out of the room and on her way up to the PICU. Feeling a hand on your elbow you turned and saw a CNA smiling at you. “Hi, my name is Sally and I am here to take you up to where your daughter is. So if you would please follow me.”
Following Sally, you ended up outside a room. You watched through a window as they got your daughter set up, multiple times Sally had tried to get you to go to the waiting room, but each time you shook your head continuing to stare as the nurses and a couple of doctors got her situated. Even after someone had closed the blinds to her room, you still stayed unmoved, looking at the window. It wasn’t until a doctor stuck his head out of her room and yelled for them to move you did you finally move. Once more you found yourself sitting in a silent waiting room alone, because Sally had to get back to her other patients. You were pulled from your blank thoughts when you heard someone calling your name. Looking up, you saw that doctor that had yelled for you to be removed from the hallway. Looking at the clock past him, you saw that 15 minutes had passed since you came into the waiting room.
“Yes?”
“Ms. Y/L/N, my name is Dr. Beck. I am the doctor on shift in the PICU today. I understand that you didn’t want to leave your daughter earlier but there was no telling how long it was going to take to get her situated and to get a report. So that is why I asked them to bring you in here. They gave me the rundown when they called up and then gave me the details once she was up here. At the moment your daughter is still fighting pretty hard to breathe and so the machine is doing a lot of the breathing for her. The antibiotics were started through an I.V. while she was downstairs. Although she is struggling right now, we firmly believe that she will pull through without any more complications. It just may take a couple of days before we see a change in her.
I couldn’t help but notice that you are by yourself. Is there anyone that we could call for you? Her dad maybe?”
Your heart dropped, your thoughts had been so wrapped around your daughter that you didn’t even think to call Ralph or even work to let them know that you weren’t going to be in.
“Her father isn’t in the picture, and my boyfriend is out of town for work, but I know that he would want to know.”
Dr. Beck sat next to you as you called Ralph’s phone. When it went straight to voicemail you hung up,not wanting to leave the news on it. Scrolling through your contacts you came to Iris’s number. Hitting dial it rang twice before Iris had picked up.
“Y/N, where are you?! Cecile called and said that you never dropped off baby boo at the sitters, then when you didn’t show up at work we started calling and it just kept ringing. We were just about to call Ralph, what is going on?”
“NO, don’t call Ralph! I- I-. Oh god Iris, my baby.” Just then you couldn’t hold it in anymore. You felt your phone drop from your hands as you slide to the floor on your knees and started to cry, as much as you tried to stop yourself, the tears kept coming and you knew there was no stopping them. With your head in your hands you lent forward resting on your knees as you continued to cry, you heard Dr. Back stand and yell for someone, then you heard him on your phone before you tuned everything out. You could feel hands rubbing your back as your cried, you were pretty sure that whoever it was; was also trying to calm you. Whispering words of encouragement as they continued to rub your back. Suddenly the lights had been dimmed and you felt a warm blanket being wrapped around you.
Even though you continued to cry, you had managed to calm down, slightly.... So you heard a male voice tell whoever had been rubbing your back that he would take over. You felt as the first person got up and the male sat down in their place, as they tried to get you to lay your head in their lap, but you refused to move from your position.
“Y/N, stop it. Just lay your head down and rest. Everyone, is here and we aren’t going anywhere. Now, just lay down.”
Even as you started to lay down in his lap, it took a minutes few before the voice of the man made its way through the fog of your mind.
“Harry?”
“Yes Y/n. It’s me. Everyone is here, but Cisco. He is trying to get a location on Ralph.”
“No, this case was to important to him. I can’t take that away from him.”
“But you can take away his choice to be here? Kettle black much?”
“Harry-”
“Oh don’t Harry me. You know damn well that if you didn’t tell him, that he would never forgive you. Caitlin is back with the doctor going over what is wrong and their plan of action, they still had a couple of things that needed to be done before you can go back. So right now, you need to shut up and try to rest.”
All you really wanted was to see your daughter, but knowing that it was going to be a bit longer before you could you pulled the blanket closer to your chin and closed your eyes. Thinking that there was no way you would be able to fall asleep, you soon drifted off.
Unsure of how long you had been asleep, you were woken up when the leg you had been sleeping on shifted and was replaced by another. Opening your eyes slowly, you look around the darkened waiting room. Looking at everyone that was there you wanted to start crying all over again, you never thought that they all would have still be here, waiting to hear anymore news about your daughter. Even though you didn’t straight up start bawling, a couple single tears fell from your eyes and onto the leg you had been resting on.
“You don’t want to do that dollface, you do that and then I am going to start and when I cry, it’s extremely ugly.”
Sitting up faster than you probably should have you turned and saw that the new leg you had been laying on, was Ralph’s. Reaching up he ran his thumb across your check, wiping the tears away. You wanted to say something, but Ralph leant forward and placed a quick kiss to your lips. Turning back to the group you looked for Caitlin, making eye contact with her she smiled and answered before you could ask.
“Going over her chart with the doctor, I have to agree with him. It may take a couple of days, but she will be ok. It is harder for loved one to see those they love like this, then it is for the patient. Depending on how quick the antibiotics kick in, will decide on how long the breathing tube stays in and how long she is in the PICU.”
“Has anyone been able to go back and see her?”
“We were told we could go back, but we decided that we would wait. That you and Ralph should be the first back to see her.”
“You guys could have gone back. I don’t like that she is by herself.”
Iris then spoke up, “Trust us. Even though we are in here and not back there with her. She isn’t alone and neither are you. While you got some rest, we all figured out times that we could come and sit with her.” Holding her hand up to stop both you and Ralph from talking, and continued, “No, you guys are not doing this on your own, staying at a hospital day in and day out can become taxing on a person. Trust me, I know. So even if it is just to take a walk around the hospital, you will not be in that room all the time. Now that you are up and Ralph is here, we are going to go down and get something to eat. While you guys head back.”
You knew that there was no fighting any of them on this topic, so you just nodded your head and started to get up. After quick hugs to everyone you grabbed Ralph’s hand and made your way to the doors that would lead you into the PICU. After calling on the phone to be let in, you both made your way to the room. Noticing the blinds were still closed you paused just outside the door and turned to Ralph.
“Ralph I-”
“Dollface, if you are going to say that you are sorry. It better be sorry for thinking that a case is more important than her or you. I could care less if this case or any case, made me a multi millionaire. I will ALWAYS put you two first, you don’t know what bad thoughts ran through my mind when I saw Cisco coming out of that breach. At first I thought that it was something at the Cortex, but then when I saw the look on his face I knew… I knew it was something much worse. All I could think was, she is where she needs to be to get better, but that you had been alone, and I wanted nothing more then to be here with you. So that I could hold you and remind you that everything was going to be ok.”
With all the crying you had done earlier, you didn’t think you had any more tears left, it wasn’t until Ralph had started to wipe them away you realized you had started to cry all over again. Wrapping your arms around him, Ralph hug you so tight it felt like you had been wrapped in a blanket. It was in that moment you felt all the tension you had been feeling leave your body and you knew that everything was going to be ok. After placing a kiss to the top of your head Ralph took a step back and smiled.
“You good? Because as much as I love you. I really want to see how my girl is doing.”
Nodding your head you took a deep breath and walked into the room.
It had been four days since your daughter had been admitted into the hospital, like the nurse down in the ER had told you. Your daughter had fought hard, and after being on the antibiotics for 24 hours, the breathing tube had been removed and after one more night in the PICU she was moved to the general floor. Walking up to the children’s floor you couldn’t help but smile. Ralph had the night shift with your daughter and had called you this morning to tell you that they were going to be releasing her later.
Walking into the room you stopped short of the doorway, looking into the room you found Ralph reclined in the chair with your daughter snuggled into his chest fast asleep. Sneaking into the room, as not to wake them you grabbed a blanket and covered them both up. Looking up you saw a nurse standing by the door waving you over, walking out into the hallway you smiled at the nurse.
“How did she do last night?”
“She did amazing! Her vitals have been good since she left the PICU and, from what the night nurses had told us. Her and Ralph? They were up all night playing and laughing… it’s none of my business, but that man isn’t her father? ”
“Oh I imagine they were, my phone kept going off with notifications from him sending me pictures. No, Ralph isn’t her father, but he might as well be.”
“What do you mean might as well be? Honey, that man in there is that child’s daddy and don’t you let anyone tell you differently. You can see in his eyes the love he has for her. You got yourself a keeper.”
Patting you on the arm the nurse turned and walked away, leaving you standing just outside the room looking in. You watched as your daughter moved in her sleep and Ralph’s arms wrapping around her out of instinct. Ever since you had started dating there was never any real talk about who he was to your daughter, he has always just been Ralph. Walking back into the room Ralph’s eyes turned to you, smiling at him you walked up to the chair and kissed his head.
“What the nurse have to say?”
“Oh nothing. Just talking about how Lil’s and her dad had fun last night.”
It took only a second for Ralph to realize what you had said and instantly you could see as his eyes started to water, before he could even say anything you replied, “Yes, I did say what you think I did. There is no question to it Ralph, you are her father. There isn’t a lot of men that would care for another man’s child like you do. You didn’t have to spend all those nights walking the house with her because she couldn’t sleep and you sure as heck didn’t have to take shifts this past week up here with her. But here you are, so how about it. Do you wanna be my baby daddy?”

Yugioh S3 Ep 11 pt 2: Seto Discovers Vulture Capitalism
Where were we on this arc that ended up being hella longer than I thought it would be? Oh yeah, Last we left the crew, Tristan’s body, now possessed by Nezbitt, was just racing away with Mokuba. This kid gets abducted so often, it’s never occurred to me that anyone in this show would think this is weird. So, when Noah showed up to intervene with actual common sense it was a good bit of whiplash for me.
It’s like the same whiplash I got back when Noah attempted to forfeit a rigged game (for the first time in this entire series). Like I get that Noah is the villain, but how is the evil kid way better at this common sense thing than...a lot of people who’ve been on this show? Not that Noah’s always smart, of course, he still doesn’t seem totally with it on a lot of things (like interior design, which we will get to in a sec) but wow. Noah actually called out this entire show with “Really? Mokuba? Again?”
And so you know what that means? We get to see Noah’s sweet pad in this VR world where Noah could have created anything. Literally anything. To start, he made himself a fireplace with a tiny tiny stack of wood (pretty sure Noah might not know how fires work) and...some sort of...curse on the mantle.
Maybe the mantle couldn’t read the typeface that Noah wanted to use on the mantle?
The rest of the room is just this. Just this.
You know what this no-walls aesthetic SUPER reminds me of?
Pocket Camp. Like this just looks like a Pocket Camp set up to me. In fact...I’m pretty sure I can make almost this exact room in Pocket Camp.
Noah’s just inviting Mokuba over with the bare minimum of ugly ass furniture he needs to have a person over at his campsite he pretends is a house while he waits patiently for the real version of Animal Crossing to come to Switch.
Leichter has an accent that is very old-fashioned Americana and doesn’t wholly make sense in the context of him living in urban Japan, like there’s a whole story there I’d be curious about. But most likely, they were probably trying to cover up the fact that they were using the same 5 voice actors by having him pull out the Clark Gable impression.
And then Seto did not use a Blue Eyes as his deck Master. Instead he used....this guy.
This is a lot of guy to take in. I...I don’t like it.
During this duel we get a Seto Kaiba flashback--and it’s an honest flashback this time, no clones are going to show up and reenact this performance, this is just a straight up flashback.
We’re transported back to Gozoboro’s long buffet table. He really, really loves this thing. It’s like the only place he and his kids ever seem to hang out. Surprised Mokuba and Seto don’t need glasses after squinting so hard to see their own Father for so many years. Also surprised Mokuba and Seto even know what their Dad looks like up close.
Anyways, he sits down at the table and shouts really loudly so it can reach the other side of the room.
Also, just gonna bring this up, we’ve only seen one other guy obsessed with long tables--let me do some digging to a S1 cap, one sec:
Maybe this is just what evil Dads who wear Salmon do? They get hella long tables to seat their 0 friends and just sit at one of the ends and monologue until something important happens. I mean y’all know how much I love this storyboarder but boy they have a thing for villains and long tables.
Anyways, back to Season 3.
(bro’s telling me he does not know about Thoroughly Modern Millie and like can you believe neither Hulu or Netflix has that musical? I mean that musical is problematic as hell, as is all Broadway but maybe I want to watch some 1920′s dancing.)
Anyways, cue Gozaboro shuffling in a comedically large pile of money on a very small pushcart. About 1,099,520,000.00 Yen’s worth. But the show will simplify it for the Americans.
This episode of Yugioh was made around 2002, and this just followed the .com bubble bursting in California. (and before that happened, it was preceded by a recession in Japan that affected the .com bubble quite a bit) For those here who were not born yet and do not remember this happening, this was like, pretty horrifying. I grew up in the Bay where 90% of everyone still works in tech, so I remember that after the bubble burst there were kids in our school who’s parents used to have great salaries and a steady income, who suddenly had to pick up shifts at Starbucks to get back on their feet.
So, it’s interesting that we have this kid’s show basically showing us point blank what Vulture Capitalism is and how it works. You’d think this business stuff would normally go over kid’s heads, but at the time, I think a lot of kids wanted to know what happened to their families but maybe didn’t understand it?
So Kaiba is gonna get into investing all of a sudden, which is kind of weird, mostly because it involved no playing cards. Also because this happened:
Yeah, what? He’s apparently not even adopted yet, which means Seto could still turn around and tell the News that he beat Gozaboro in a match but, I guess that old threat has aged out.
It’s inferred that Seto’s been living here like for several years now. You’d think this guy would list some dependents just for the tax cuts, but nah, Gozaboro just shoved these two into the gigantic 5000 sq ft closet under the stairs of his huge mansion and forgot about them for a couple years.
So, armed with money that is printed on single Yen bills and being pushed around Kaiba in a little tiny cart, Seto has to formulate a plan. Problem is, his business skills include a.) beating up other orphans b.) doing math pretty good and c.) playing cards.
When Seto is like “I don’t care what the company sells, just get me a company to buy” that’s like a straight reference to the .com bubble, but minus the complicated stock market stuff.
For the kid’s in the room that don’t know a thing about this era, tech companies were being created en masse, and because the internet was new and exciting, all of their worth was in their stock rather than in their products--if they even had a product. Mostly they just had big overreaching ideas they were pretty sure would make them all millionaires. But the product didn’t really matter since no one ever reads any numbers when all they plan to do is turn around and immediately sell anyway. They just assumed that if they put on the pressure, they would drive up the value, and would sell before anyone figured out it was all worthless.
This actually worked for so many years, up until people at the top all started demanding real money from the people at the bottom, much like how Seto needed 100 million dollars ASAP from an unsuspecting...whatever company this was. Vulture Capitalism at it’s finest, expecting exponential and unrealistic growth from any company, and if, the growth isn’t met, just selling the whole damn thing after driving every employee to the hospital for overwork.
Now, normally Vulture Capitalism is only if an investor buys a struggling company intending to sell directly afterwards, but since Seto made them struggle like immediately after purchasing, I think we can still call this that.
(And we still do this to this day, PS, we’ve learned nothing from the .com crash.)
This really bad child’s outfit is my favorite Mokuba outfit. I mean...it’s so bad. No wonder Mokuba was picked on so often as a child, wow. He’s like a late-80′s news anchor.
Also, I have NO idea how Seto got any money back so quickly. That doesn’t...totally make sense. But, this is a kid’s show and we have to simplify this whole thing into a sensible package. I mean there’s way more to the whole .com problem but...this show wasn’t literally doing a .com...just a really heavy reference to it.
And much like how people valued stock more than what companies actually were, Seto’s value was a lot of the same. His worth to his Father wasn’t that of a son, it was entirely held up in potential dollar signs. To Gozaboro, Seto's nothing more than a small company he’ll extort straight into...a more emotional type of bankruptcy. Framed alongside the .com crash, this is sort of like, ah, I see what you’re doing, Yugioh. The way Seto was screwing this company was the same way he was already screwed. It’s basically all he knows, and it is a lot of heavy handed foreshadowing.
Anyway, Seto destroyed a company with 10 mill, which is nothing compared to the amount of money vulture capitalists toss around nowadays.
The Big 5 may have honestly done a better job raising Kaiba than Gozoburo since this guy acted as an advisor rather than a boss, but it’s a very, very low bar these boys have set and so far, very few adults have met it. All you have to do is just try and not kill them and you’re already better than all of Kaiba’s father figures.
With the exception of Roland, of course. Youknow, other than Grandpa, Roland is like the only good Dad on this show. Never thought Roland would look like such a shining star. Man, Roland better not screw everyone over or I will be so disappointed in him.
Anyways, the Yugi crew found a fully fueled truck from Soviet Era Russia buried in one of those warehouses.
They censor so much stuff that gives away that Yugioh is from another country, and they kept in the 3-wheeler pickup? As if any North American child would have any idea what they’re looking at right now? Maybe they just assumed we’d think it was sci-fi?
Also, then this happened?
...OK then.
Not sure how Satellite Laser works outside the context of VR. But, at least here in the VR Zone, we can send a Satellite Laser into space because...Space exists here? In VR?
This world is weirdly very small but also very big at the same time. It’s like Katamari.
Anyway, that’s all for this episode, next episode we find out if Kaiba will hack a laser for the second time in this series. Also we find out if Joey can jump a sonic-the-hedgehog broken highway with a 3-wheeled European-as-hell Pickup Truck.
Also...close enough?
Pocket camp really needs more yellow sleeveless puff jackets.
And here’s a link to read the recaps in Chrono order from Ep1 S1

Of Stardust and Spacetime (4)
Ch. 1 | Ch. 2 | Ch. 3 | Ch. 4 | Ch. 5 | Ch. 6 | Ch. 7 | Ch. 8 (Final)
Pairings: Jeon Jungkook x Reader | Kim Seokjin x Reader
Genre: Scifi, Angst, Fluff/Romance, Comedy
Words: 4K
Description:
On clear nights he looks up at the sky, and he can still see you. He can see the image of you transcending alternate universes tied together by iridescent ribbons, passing through the iron cores of distant stars, and sliding across Orion’s belt to meet him in that magical place between the stratums of space and time. And he can remember that you existed, and that you stood next to him, just like this.
The night sky is dark because the observable universe is finite. It was infinite, the entire cosmos would be a blinding sheet of gold with every star that ever existed in this endless realm burning brightly like inexhaustible suns all fighting to outshine one another.
“Once a certain quantity is reached, people aren’t able to grasp numbers. You get to the hundred thousands, millions, billions, and then you lose track. I mean, how often are we asked to imagine a hundred million people? Consider what that would even look like.” Professor Min Yoongi’s voice is subdued but firm, he pauses to allow the students to ponder over his remark before continuing. “Stars only make up 4% of the universe, but as you can guess that is still a very large number.”
Taehyung leans over to whisper in Jungkook’s ear. “Lets game at my place today. Internet is real fast.”
“Tae, we have to talk to the professor after class, remember?” Jungkook reminds, trying to pay attention to the ongoing lecture. He and Taehyung naturally decided to pair up for the project but have been wasting the past two weeks submerged in consecutive Overwatch marathons when they should’ve been deciding on a research topic. In retrospect, it was to be predicted since they are both game addicts, and it was honestly fate’s fault for bringing them together so they could perpetuate that addiction to new levels.
“Oh, yeah, you’re right, you’re right. No more distractions.” Taehyung nods, turning back to face the front.
“Sir Isaac Newton is known as the godfather of modern day physics. Although his fundamental theories have aided in our understanding of the physical world immensely, they have undergone a few modifications since their inception.” Yoongi flips to the next slide. “We learn later through the work of Albert Einstein that time, which Newton deemed as constant, is not that unchanging linear progression it was once thought of as. I’m sure you’ve all heard of the famous Twin Paradox by now.” There is a nonverbal agreement that reverberates throughout the room. Yoongi nods in approval. “A twin hops on to a spaceship, travels to a distant star at the speed of light, and returns to find that he is younger than the twin who stayed on earth. It has long become fact that high speed and heavy gravity can both dilate time.”
“I never fully understood that.” Taehyung whispers another remark to Jungkook, who snorts in agreement.
“Einstein’s theory of relativity is built on the fact that space and time are constrained by the velocity of light.” Yoongi takes a sip of coffee, lubricating his throat before proceeding to project his voice to the mere five students in the back of the room. “Now, what time is, exactly, is still very elusive. I’m going to spare you all the details of the history of time, but if it happens to be something you are interested in researching, I would encourage you to consider selecting is as your topic of research. It can get extremely complex.” He clears his throat and switches to the next slide. “To date there are two main theories concerning the reality of time. The first one states that the past is gone and the future only exists as a probability distribution. The second hints that the past, present, and future all co-exists. We have since come to postulate that neither the first nor the second theory is entirely correct, and that time is more accurately a combination of both. It is nonlinear, in other words, reality is not a cause and effect relationship.” He smiles mysteriously. “Which brings me to the birth of quantum physics.”
Lecture continues for another 45 minutes, in which time Jungkook’s butt cheek falls asleep and he’s forced to find a way to inconspicuously massage it without other people wondering what the hell he was doing. Most of what the professor briefly runs through is not new knowledge to Jungkook, so he wasn’t allocating as much attention to the topics being covered as he probably should have. And he finds out that was a bad idea, along with wasting the past two weeks not brainstorming research ideas, when he and Taehyung walk up to the front of the lecture hall after class.
“Professor Min, we were having a bit of trouble deciding on a research topic.” Taehyung speaks first because Jungkook was a bit too nervous. He was never good at speaking to professors or interacting with them in any socially imaginable way. He constantly had this irrational fear that they would see through him and realize he didn’t know squat and was just winging life. Ok, so maybe that’s not giving him enough credit for surviving undergrad, but it certainly felt that way sometimes, especially when it came to the subjects he chose to study- namely theoretical physics.
“What have you considered so far?” Yoongi speaks without even looking up from his pile of scientific papers.
“Uhh, w-we..” Taehyung desperately looks towards Jungkook for help, but it’s obviously not something the younger could provide either. Cold sweat and panic ensues, and Jungkook may or may not be feeling the need to dash out of the room. But of course he’s not going to just ditch Taehyung or act like a socially anxious teenager- if it wasn’t too late already.
Fortunately, Park Jimin, the TA, steps in just in time. “I think the most interesting topics tend to come from questions that mean a lot to you personally.” He smiles encouragingly as he walks over to the two students. “Why did you choose to study theoretical physics? What are some of the unanswered questions you would like to shed light on?”
Taehyung is the first to answer, clearly more relaxed than Jungkook was. Said younger male is still not so subtly trying to avoid eye contact with the outwardly friendly TA. “W-well, for as long as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by space, astronomy, and astrophysics. My dad gifted me a telescope when I was eight, and I’ve loved stargazing ever since. Theoretical is just an elective for me to explore unproven concepts.”
“Good, good. That’s the way to start.” Jimin shifts his attention to Jungkook, who has not spoken a word since. “How about you? Jungkook, right?”
Jungkook nods, swallowing nervously. “I-I…” Fuck, he can’t think under pressure. Is having no reason a good enough response? Will this Park dude see through it if he just bullshits it?
There’s a tiny little voice in his head that reminds him of his true reason, the driving force behind him sticking with a major that makes him feel incompetent 24/7. The motive that’s always been half hidden, that he’s deceptively tried to sort of push off to the side because it’s so ridiculous the only other person he’s ever told is Hoseok. And even that only happened a few days ago because it took him years (and after the event of physically holding your hand for the first time) to feel comfortable enough to reveal. No, there is no way he’s going to tell his physics professor, his TA, and his Overwatch buddy/project partner about you. They’ll think he’s lost his mind. They’ll laugh at him, and he’ll never have the guts to show his face ever again. Hell no, not in a million years-
…
An hour later, Jungkook’s cards are all laid out on the table, and he and Taehyung have a general idea on what they might want to research- more or less.
He fucking panicked.
The first little bit about meeting you when he was five just slipped, and the rest flooded out like word vomit. The good news is Jungkook managed to explicate everything quasi-logically and semi-believably. The bad news is Jungkook will be forever seen as the questionably crazy one. So much for trying come off normal…seriously at this rate, the whole world is going to find out about his secret that’s isn’t even a secret anymore. He can already see the headlines now: Scientist claims to have a girlfriend who doesn’t even exist in the physical realm.
Jungkook wants nothing more than to disappear off the face of the planet.
You feel less and less embedded in reality as the days pass. Your limbs would go numb whenever you spaced out, and you wake up feeling like your mind was wiped clean, sans the vague recollection of your dream from the night before. The clearer your dreams the looser your grip of the real world is, and ever since you informed Seokjin of your hunch about your dreams, he’s been increasingly worried about you. Of course you haven’t revealed the rising severity of your current symptoms, not wanting to distress him any more than you already have, but it was hard to get anything past the young man who’s been by your side for most of your life.
“Y/N, are you sure you’re ok?” Seokjin’s soft voice laces itself between the severed pieces of your contemplation, bringing you back into the library the two of you were studying in.
You look down at your blank sheet of parchment. The flatness of its off-white color makes you feel dizzy for some inexplicable reason. You had not begun writing your report at all, but that was clearly not the cause of your spiraling unresponsiveness. “Yeah, I-I’m fine.” You shake your head to dispel the distraction.
“If there’s something on your mind, you need to tell me.” He’s more adamant this time, staring at you intently as if to nonverbally convey that he knew something was not right and he wanted to help.
Ever since you had come clean about your strange dreams, Seokjin has been patiently waiting for you to share more, expertly hiding his growing urge to assist you in discerning such perplexities because he didn’t want to make you uncomfortable. It was impossible for him to not notice how out of it you’ve been lately, forgetting some of the most fundamental pieces of information about yourself, like you’re age and sometimes even your name.
“Does it have to do with the visions?” He speaks again after you continue to remain silent.
“Seokjin, really, it’s nothing. I think I’m just overthinking it, maybe if I take my mind off-”
“Y/N” Seokjin interrupts. “I’ve known you for over fifteen years. I can tell when something is bothering you, and I can assure you it won’t go away until you’ve addressed it.” He was right. It’s sometimes uncanny how well he’s able to read you, how he somehow understands you better than you understand yourself. He exhales smoothly and reaches out for your hand, giving you that familiar light squeeze. “Need I remind you of Irene?”
Your face immediately heats up at the mention of his past project partner for History of Pandora during year one who you wrongly assumed was his newly found girlfriend and avoided him for months out of sheer pettiness. It’s your most embarrassing memory to date; one that you’ve denied on countless occasions, and you can’t believe he’s bringing it up now.
“Irene did not bother me.” You pout, releasing his hand and crossing your arms.
Seokjin’s lips quirk upwards. “Ok, whatever you say~” One would have to be blind to have not spotted your jealousy back then, but of course Seokjin is not going to push your buttons. He never does. “But seriously, Y/N, you’ve been unlike yourself recently, and I really think you should reach out to Namjoon if you think it has to do with your visions.”
“Namjoon?” The name of the man who provided you with star mail service two years ago rings a bell in your head. “The star mail guy?”
Seokjin hums matter-of-factly. “I think speaking to him may provide some insights. He has to have at least heard of people experiencing similar symptoms in the past, right? They’ve relocated to a newer astronomy facility since we last went, but I’ve searched up their new address on the interweb. If you want, I can drive you there this weekend.”
It really shouldn’t surprise you by now that Seokjin would go through the trouble to find a way to help you without you needing to request for assistance, but the way he just casually threw his suggestion out there when he probably spent a good part of his day running through the different options in his head rendered you at loss for words. You end up just sitting there, staring at him with a slightly slack jaw.
“Y/N?” He says, waving a hand in front of your face, almost afraid you had spaced out again.
“I-I…. would really appreciate.” You finally respond, cheeks feeling a tad warmer than the rest of your body. “Thank you, Seokjin.”
He smiles pompously. “Would you expect any less from yours truly?” He boasts, flashing you one of his signature proud, verging on arrogant, smiles, and thus chasing away the butterflies that nearly started fluttering in your stomach and making you roll your eyes at him playfully.
…
As promised, Seokjin drives you to the new Astronomy Center at the heart of one of Pandora’s largest metropolises the following weekend. You had grown up in smaller towns that were only marginally larger than the villages out in the countryside, so you had only ever seen the capital city as images through the screen of your television.
Gazing out the window of the vehicle you marveled at the monolithic structures rising from the ground ostensibly able to pierce through the sky. Their mirror-like glass windows sparkled under the light of Solaris’s golden rays, compelling your jaw to hang slightly ajar. The roads were made of smooth concrete as opposed to the cobblestone paths you were used to, and the occasional sky train that zoomed by on the elevated tracks made you gasp in delight.
“Star Mail must be a booming business.” Seokjin comments as he looks around with eyes just as wide as yours, waiting for the light to turn green.
“Yeah, if they can afford to pay for a facility down here.” You agree, swallowing as the concerns of how to explain yourself to Namjoon begin to take form. You had been thinking about it for the past few days, formulating what questions to ask and how to describe the visions that fostered the purpose of your visit.
“Relax” You hear Seokjin murmur as he senses your uneasiness. “This isn’t the be all end all. If he can’t help you, we’ll find another way.”
He had been reassuring you with similar words the entire ride, and you have to admit, it did the job of quelling the majority of your trepidation. Despite not knowing what you would discover today, you cannot disregard the hint of excitement that weaves itself between your natural anxieties, an enthusiasm that is only amplified by the breathtaking scenery rolling by.
The new astronomy building was a stark contrast to the broken down one you had visited two years ago. Built for the purpose of viewing the night sky, it stood on a hillside overlooking the city center you had just driven through the heart of. With only five stories, it diverged sharply from the skyscrapers that greedily took up vertical space, and its futuristic design made it more befitting of a research center at the forefront of science.
Stepping out of the car, your eyes are glued to the giant domed top of one of the sections, unmistakably made to house a giant telescope. It was understandably much larger and more overwhelming up close as you were standing in the most compromising position to view such a grandiose structure.
“Are you sure you don’t need me to go up with you?” Seokjin questions as the two of you enter the facility. He’s looking down at the reflective marble flooring and around at the decorative portraits of outerspace plastered on the walls in just as much awe as you are.
“I’ll be fine.” You assure him. “The real question is will you get lost in the city without me?”
“Do I seem that incompetent to you?” He puts on a bored expression as if the answer was self-explanatory.
You shrug. “I don’t know. It’s seems highly likely.”
He teasingly makes an offended face before nudging you in the shoulder. “Call me when you’re done?” He says, glancing at the large clock hanging from the ceiling.
You give him a curt nod before heading towards the elevator. Although you would’ve felt much more comfortable if Seokjin stayed with you, you knew you had to do this alone. And despite the habitual reliance on your old friend tempting you to fall back on your dependency on him, it was about time you started facing your own problems independently. Besides, you wanted to give him a chance to explore the city and would’ve felt bad if he drove all this way solely for your benefit. You take a deep tranquilizing breath as he waves to you one last time before the sliding doors squeeze shut.
When the doors open on the 5th floor, you’re confronted by a large room with a decorative telescope placed in the very center. An enclosed balcony-like area that had a slanted glass ceiling was located at the end of the long room, while the left portion of the chamber was lined with tall bookshelves and the right was filled with computer monitors and more of those same pod-like apparatuses that you assume are for sending Star Mail.
“Hello?” You call out, wondering if the entire place was empty as there was no sound other than the idle machines, softly humming in the background.
You hear a painful grunt, the noise of a book falling to the ground, and the emergence of someone from behind a cluttered bookshelf. “Yes?” The vaguely recognizable face of Namjoon appears with those same square glasses you had witnessed him sport two years ago. He tilts his head when he sees you, seemingly trying to recall why you appear so familiar.
You gulp before speaking. “Hi, I’m Y/N. I’m not sure if you remember me from two years ago, but I came to send star mail with a friend-”
Namjoon holds up a hand to signal for you to stop speaking. He chuckles lightly and nods his head. “Yes, yes, I remember you.”
You let out a breath of relief that he at least recognizes you. You also note that he must have an excellent memory, since he had only met you once and has probably seen hundreds of fresh faces in the past two years.
“You don’t happen to be back to send more mail are you?” He cocks a brow, walking over and offering you a seat at one of the tables next to the rows of organized pods.
You shake your head vigorously. “No, no. I was actually hoping to ask you some questions about some weird things I’ve been experiencing since I went through the star mail procedure.”
“Oh?”
You continue, wanting to get everything out before you the nerves caught up. “I saw some strange events while I was in the pod, and I’ve been dreaming about them for the past two years.” You glance up at him tentatively, waiting for him to either assure you that it was completely normal to experience such side effects or simply brush your statement off as nothing to be concerned about. There’s a period of silence as you watch Namjoon’s eyebrows furrow as he digests your rather quick and to the point disclosure.
“What did you see?” He inquires with an unreadable interest.
You swallow again, slowly regaining conviction. “I was in a unknown place, and I saw someone.” You whisper softy. “H-he’s not Pandorian, he’s…he’s…different.” You proclaim with more resolve.
“Are you sure?” Namjoon’s voice is lower this time as he raises both of his eyebrows in mild shock. This information was no doubt strange to him. In all of his years researching and aiding in the process of sending Star Mail, he had never heard of anyone having visions or hallucinations about a person that they’ve never met before while undergoing the procedure, much less experiencing such detailed dreams about said visions afterwards.
You close your eyes, trying really hard to remember just exactly what you’ve been seeing for the past two years. You find it difficult to recall these seemingly subconscious events, but you were pretty confident that everything was occurring in a linear fashion only it was abnormally nonconsecutive. It seems as though time is passing differently for you and the person in your dreams. “Yeah, they’ve all been about the same person. The first time I met him, he was very young. I would say about five years give or take? And when I dreamt about him again, he was slightly older and so on.”
Namjoon’s expression changes back to one of resting calm. He nods in vague understanding, unable to do much more than that. “What does it feel like? When you’re there, I mean.”
“Surprisingly, I can never remember much of it.” You huff a small laugh, recalling how difficult it was to even recall you were even having dreams in the beginning. You would only wake up more or less unsettled and confused. The clarity of said dreams have somehow increased in strength as you find yourself enjoying, for lack of better words, seeing that person. His lovable facial features, his boyish personality, the way he makes you feel like you belong somewhere your rational mind tells you that you don’t.
“Does he know who you are?”
You nod. “He seems to be unable to physically see me.” You purse your lips, trying a bit harder to draw upon that sensation of communicating with him, the way your voice only travels as invisible sound waves to his ear. “But he somehow knows what I’m saying. I don’t think he knows what I am or what I look like, and he’s always…” You pause, trying to formulate how to explain that look in his eyes when you’re with him, that shy smile that dances across his face every time he speaks to you, the warm feeling he gives off even though it might just be your imagination. “…happy to see me.”
“I see” Namjoon continues to nod.
“Do you think they are real events?” You prod, mildly puzzled as to why the astronomer is not commenting on your statement any further. The man seems to be deep in thought, and you regret blurting out an inquisition so impulsively, not letting him deliberate in peace.
“I have no doubt that they are.” He asserts, causing you to almost experience non-physical whiplash. You didn’t know he was going to give such a simple but assured response for something you’ve been hesitant to believe yourself and running through ways you can explain why they viscerally feel real. “If he’s not Pandorian, I would presume he’s from a planet that is millions of light years away.”
“Why that long?” Your question gives away your elementary understanding of metaphysics, but Namjoon remains patient.
“A light-year is a measure of distance. Space is so vast we have to measure distances using the speed of light, which is also the precise reason Star Mail is converted to electromagnetic waves. It’s the fastest way to send information, and it’s pretty.” He explains, adding that bit in the end for kicks and smiling at the thought of iridescent light beams shooting off into space before reverting back into focus. “The reason I’m bringing this up is because we’ve searched our galaxy for intelligent life and have not found any within a 50 million light-year radius.”
“What does that have to do with Star Mail and my visions?” You’re a bit ashamed to ask because Namjoon seems to be waiting for something to dawn upon you, thinking that the amount of information he just shared should be enough for you to come to some obvious conclusion.
“When you are separated by distance, you are also separated by time.” He answers. “Going by my gut instinct, I would hypothesize that he is somehow able to interact with that package of Star Mail you sent two years ago, but…”
“But?”
He looks at you with unreadable eyes, and you feel a chill run down your spine. “It’s supposed to take 50 million years for your parcel to reach him.”

Kurt waggoner Yandere au
@djinmer4
The classroom is full, today is an important day, it is an exam day and many are focused solely on the paper and some are clearly freaking out, everyone but Kurt Waggoner is calmly looking at the questions and the correct answer.
The young genius is not arrogant to think the question is easy and the others are stupid for not getting the answer immediately, as he waits for the time to expire, Kurt Waggoner can do one of his favourites hobby, one that is secret to even his friends know, study her.
The girl in the third row next to the wall with the huge poster, the girl with brown hair( pink streak on the left side), a punk jacket, a frown in her face and her hands travelling through her hair nervously as she focused on the paper.
His golden eyes are fixed on her form, how her hands are now touching the paper, how her lips are dry(oh, now she is bitten her bottom lip) and her desperation on the question are screaming now.
The girl truly have troubles in this class, Kurt Waggoner often noticed how she wants to ask more, yet, her shyness stops. This often prompts Kurt to want to talk with the girl, to whisper the correct answers to her, in any language she wants and this line of thought makes his heart beat faster, a curious thing as the young Nightcrawler don´t know what to do in this situation.
"Pryde, stop fussing around, focus on the paper, in silence," the teacher said in a harsh tone, " and the girl, with her brown eyes wide cutely(Kurt is a biased bystander) and the teacher, look a bit mean to the girl, the girl carries a cutlass(a permission was given from the X-men) and her eyes travel to the teacher, to the students( she meet his golden eyes for the brief second, his heart beats faster and his face grown on a light shade of purple) and then to the paper with utter despair.
Nightcrawler still looks at the young girl, if someone wonders why Kurt is looking at the young woman, he can say he is paying attention to the poster, yet, no one noticed or care.
Kitty Pryde has a eureka moment, earning a harsh eye from the teacher, and the girl starts to write asap, Kurt pays attention to her hand´s movements. Some of the answers she is putting are incorrect and Kurt wants to say this to her.
Kurt Waggoner can´t say anything to the girl. It is new for him, every time he saw the girl his heart beat faster, his mind goes blank and the young Nightcrawler can´t utter a word.
What is this I´m feeling?
"Time is out, put the pencil down, that goes to you too, Pryde," the teacher said not nicely and Kurt frown at this, why the teacher is so mean to Kitty? Is because of sorrow memory? In this world, the robots´ fight is over, is something people love to say.
Yet, Kitty is from the last part where the fight did carry out, it was an ugly point that the humanity still is haunted by the evil robots they created themselves to kill those who they hate(ironically, the robots decided to kill all the humans)
Kitty put the pencil down and her paper was collected along with the other and everyone was excused, Kurt Waggoner jumps out of his seat wanting to talk with her, yet, his friends approach him wanting to talk and Kitty is lost in the sea of people.
Kurt left the room trying to see where she went, but it was no use. Kurt lost her.
"Kurt, there are you," Evan said along with Bobby, Jubilee and Amara are talking happily.
"I was just joking about the German food, sure in the fairy food, they will put German food" Jubilee jokes getting some chuckles from the others.
Kurt nods, clutching his fist but talks with his friends, joking about anything and hopes Kitty would be in the food fairy.
Maybe, she will be there as well. Does Katzchen like German food?
Next day, everyone is on the class but Kitty Pryde and Kurt Waggoner break a little his character by asking where is Kitty. She is never late, ever(Kurt can testify this) Is she hurt? did something happen?
"Mr Waggoner, Pryde is at the hospital, now please calm down, and let´s continue the class," The teacher said in, Kurt´s opinion, in an ugly way. the young Nightcrawler´s eyes are full of concerned.
His friends noticed this and tried to comfort him, saying she is fine and when he cares so much for the new girl.
"She could be hurt" is his only reply.
When the class is over, Kurt break his character once again and without talking with his friends, ignoring their pleas, and bamf to the hospital, what if she is dying? His mind is going to the extreme.
The receptionist informs that only family members can see the patient, and Kurt is a bit desperate until someone put a hand on his shoulder. It was Ororo Monroe, Storm( Wolverine, the dad, does talk about her, but is the first time he saw her in person)
"You are Logan and Hercules´s son, right? you´re Kurt Waggoner" Ororo said kindly "
"Yes, nice to meet you, Miss Monroe, I want to see Kitty, is she alright?" Kurt asked already dreading the worse.
"Oh, my daughter is fine, she never mentions having a friend, I´m glad for this, " she smiles in satisfaction "let´s go see Kitty, she will be happy to see you"
Kurt beam at the prospect of seeing Kitty, he didn´t know Storm adopt Kitty(there are many things he didn´t know about her) they enter in the room 35, where Kitty lays down in the bed with a small blonde girl(wearing bright pink) who is eating cookies and gelatine.
"Kitty, a friend of yours is here to see you, do you want to explain how you get to be here?" Miss Monroe is in the motherly hen, something Kurt knew very well with Hercules and Wolverine.
"Oh, ok, no one is going to let me forget this, ok, so I was trying to fly I lost the control and I ended up hurting my arm" Kitty shows her arm cast "Hi, Kurt Waggoner"
Kurt blushes purple at the sight.
"I thought the worse, you weren´t there and I was worried" it wasn´t smoothly like some of his other version(can you feel envy of yourself)
The blonde girl just looks at him and rolls her eyes.
"He does read Jonh Green, great" Yana said eating again.
"I didn´t know someone would notice my absence," Kitty said and Kurt realize how Yana and Ororo didn´t like this part, kitty is too honest.
"I did, I noticed and I was worried," Kurt said and before she asks why " you seem to be a nice girl and I want to know more about you if you want we can be friends"
"And all it takes was from my arm to be cast" she jokes while Ororo still send some reproval and worry gaze "which I promise I´ll never do that again, pinky swear"
"Pink promises are sacred, Katya, can´t you say for sure you won´t do anything dangerous?" Yana said eating more cookies.
"I´ll try"
Ororo just sighs "well, it is something"
Kitty gives her attention to Kurt Waggoner and gives a bright smile(it is too cute and precious) and she says.
"You are always looking at that poster, "she said and Kurt fear that she found out his trick,"do you like books that much?"
Kurt nods and adds softly.
"Uhm, I was wondering if you want we can study math, the teacher said it was not an easy subject for you" it was a lie, but Kurt can´t say he noticed her struggle.
She beams and Kurt found out cute.
"Yes, I really need help," she said and as the conversation progress, Kurt is really happy, it may not have been as romantic or smoothly, but finally, Kurt Waggoner is talking and befriend Kathy "Kitty" Pryde.

“Ice Shack” - J/H
Figured I’d try fleshing this out into a full story. To give myself some grounding, I decided to treat this as an alternate take on Episode 3x10, “Ice Shack,” except moved up one slot to be immediately after 3x08, “Jackie Bags Hyde.” From there, the domino effect would cascade through the remainder of the series, though I can’t say I’m likely to do much more than this. If anyone likes what they read here and feels like running with this continuity, I’ve no objections.
SHOW TITLE
INT. FOREMAN BASEMENT - NIGHT
The gang, sans Jackie, has just finished a round of poker. KELSO and FEZ exit out the basement door, glum looks on their faces, while a very self-satisfied HYDE leans back in his chair, counting out his winnings. On the couch, ERIC and DONNA watch Hyde and trade whispers with one another.
HYDE: (laughing) Man, you guys gotta learn to spot a bluff.
DONNA: I can’t believe you faked us all out with two pair. How did you make that look good?
HYDE: Zen, baby. Zen.
He rises, gathers his coat, and makes for the door.
HYDE (cont’d): Alright, I’ll see you later.
Donna nudges Eric lightly. He nods and looks up to face Hyde.
ERIC: And just where do you think you’re going, young man?
HYDE: (beat) Home?
ERIC: Yes...you’d like that, wouldn’t you? Just waltz out that door, head back to your apartment, and sit around with your poker winnings and your alcoholic dad, never thinking about the consequences of your actions. You know, we’ve been down this road with you before, mister.
HYDE: (beat) Foreman, if you don’t tell me what this is about, I’m gonna kick your ass.
ERIC: You just plant your ass back in your chair, because we have something we need to talk to you about! Don’t we, honey?
Donna nods. Hyde shrugs and heads back to his chair. Eric and Donna inch across the couch to get closer to him, and Donna reaches a hand out and places it on Hyde’s knee.
DONNA: OK, Hyde...is there anything you want to tell us about your date with Jackie on Veteran’s Day?
HYDE: (beat) OK, bye-bye.
He stands again, but Eric and Donna stand too, and push him back into his chair.
ERIC: No, no, no! You don’t get to do that, pal.
HYDE: Whatever, man. So we went on a date. So?
DONNA: ‘So?’ Hyde, she stalked you for weeks, you told her to ‘die away from you,’ then you decked that guy at the barbeque, took her out, and neither of you have said anything about it.
HYDE: (shrugs) Nothing to say.
ERIC: Yeah, see, you I expect that from, but the cheerleader? You went with her to the mall out of pity and she wouldn’t shut up about it until halfway through the third film in my Godzilla marathon.
DONNA: Hyde, we just...you know. If anything happened...
HYDE: Nothing happened. (They stare) Nothing happened. I got us some pizza, we sat around, nobody talked...throw in a stash and a guy pissed off his film turned out blank and I might as well have been hanging out with Leo.
DONNA: Huh. So...that’s it? It was a dud date, and it’s all over?
HYDE: Yeah. I mean...yeah. Well...yeah.
ERIC: (beat) Hyde...
HYDE: What? I’m telling you, it’s over. She said she didn’t feel anything, so - that’s that.
DONNA: Wait - she said she didn’t feel anything?
HYDE: Whatever.
DONNA: But what about you?
Donna and Eric both break into matching grins. Hyde shifts in his chair.
HYDE: (beat) Oh, no. You got it all wrong, man.
ERIC: Oh, I don’t think so, Hyde.
HYDE: No, I - so she thought the kiss was -
DONNA: Oh my god, you kissed?
ERIC: The horror!
Donna and Eric gape at Hyde, who jumps to his feet.
HYDE: Hey - listen to me! I do not like Jackie! I can’t like Jackie! I only took her on that stupid date to shut her up about all this fantasy hero-worship crap she’s been on! So we kissed, and she felt nothing, and she hasn’t said anything and - and I don’t care! It’s cool! It’s - it’s totally cool.
ERIC: Oh...well... (reaches out to take Hyde’s hand) It’s OK, Hyde. I know your poor orphan heart’s breaking now, but you’ll find true love some day.
Hyde yanks his hand free and storms out of the basement, while Eric and Donna fall against each other, laughing.
MAIN CREDITS
BUMPER
INT. FOREMAN BASEMENT - DAY
The next morning. Hyde sits in his chair eating oatmeal. Eric and Donna, dressed for winter, sit on the couch. They stare at Hyde and grin. As Hyde raises a spoonful toward his mouth, he stops, but doesn’t turn to face Eric and Donna. They don’t stop staring. Hyde resumes eating, but pauses again with the next spoonful. Eric and Donna keep grinning at him. Hyde finishes his bite, but when they still won’t stop, he shoves his spoon into his oatmeal and turns to face them.
HYDE: This is going in both your faces if you don’t knock it off. I swear to God.
DONNA: I can’t believe it. Tough, trouble-making Steven Hyde - no ties, no girlfriends - falls in love with Jackie Burkhart.
She cracks up as she says the name, and she and Eric lean their heads against each other as they laugh.
HYDE: I don’t “love” anyone. If I wanted to date Jackie, my interest would be strictly academic.
ERIC: Academic?
HYDE: Yeah, man. Think of it like an experiment. See, Jackie comes from money. Corrupt, Republican, corporate stooge money. She comes from the Man. Now, I’ve already taught Jackie zen. If I bring her into the full world of experience offered by sex, drugs, and rock n’ roll, then I’m turning the Man’s own child against him.
Eric and Donna stare skeptically.
HYDE (cont’d): See? It’s like, I’m the virus, and Jackie’s patient zero. Through her, I corrupt the system from the inside. That’s how you bring on the revolution, man!
ERIC: Your lips mouthed some conspiracy mumbo-jumbo, but all my ears heard was “I wish she were mine.”
Donna starts laughing again. Hyde flings some oatmeal Eric’s way, and he dodges it.
ERIC: I dunno, Donna. Someone might have beat us to the draw on the bedroom this weekend. We might have to settle for the back of the van.
DONNA: Oh...as long as I’m with you, Eric.
ERIC: That’s my girl.
They cuddle.
HYDE: What are you talking about?
ERIC: You know - the cabin.
HYDE: What cabin?
DONNA: The trip to Kelso’s uncle’s cabin. Didn’t he tell you? We’re leaving any minute.
A horn honks off-screen. The three share looks and head upstairs.
CUT TO:
EXT. FOREMAN DRIVEWAY - DAY
It is a cold, snowy day, and KELSO is standing in front of his van, parked with its back facing the road. He paces and rubs his hands together. Hyde, Eric, and Donna come outside through the kitchen.
KELSO: Hey. So, you guys ready to go?
HYDE: Kelso, man, what the hell? You didn’t tell me about this trip?
Kelso looks as if he just noticed Hyde was there.
KELSO: Oh. I’m sorry, Hyde. I forgot.
HYDE: Well, as long as there’s beer, I’ll forgive you. (claps Kelso’s shoulder) Let’s get going.
KELSO: Wait, Hyde. You can’t come.
HYDE: Why not?
KELSO: Because! Because...
He steps around Hyde to reach Eric and Donna.
KELSO (cont’d): OK, I might as well let you in on my master plan here. See, what this whole trip is about is a romantic double date, with you two, me, and Jackie.
ERIC: OK, see, Kelso - double dates usually work better when the second couple are actually dating.
KELSO: So, it’s a secret double date. I told Jackie the whole gang was coming, but I didn’t invite Hyde or Fez. (to Hyde) No offense.
DONNA: (beat) I’m out.
She and Eric both turn to head back inside, but Kelso moves to block their way.
KELSO: No, I need you guys! Look - I wanna win Jackie back. I love her, I miss her...and I’ve been getting, like, nothing from Laurie lately.
Donna rolls her eyes, Eric grins, and Hyde fumes. Kelso ignores them all.
KELSO (cont’d): I wanna show her that I’ve changed. That I’m not the lying, cheating guy I was when we dated the first time. Or the second.
HYDE: By tricking her into a double date when you haven’t even broken it off with Laurie yet?
KELSO: Exactly! And, Eric and Donna, you guys are, like, the perfect couple, so if you’re there, I can just copy all the sissy, loser things that Eric does, and I’m gold!
ERIC: I mean - he asks so nicely, how could we refuse?
DONNA: Kelso, I am not doing this!
KELSO: Oh, come on! You guys get a romantic weekend out of it, and I’ll have tons of beer! We won’t even need a refrigerator 'cause it’s so freaking cold! (crosses to Hyde) Oh, but I need to grab the beer and gas on the way, so...I kinda need it back.
He holds out his hand.
HYDE: You need what back?
KELSO: You know...my money.
HYDE: What money?
KELSO: My money from the poker game last night.
HYDE: Kelso, that’s my money.
KELSO: No, it’s mine! I brought it!
HYDE: And you lost it!
KELSO: Well, since when does losing it to you in a poker game make it your money?
Hyde stares, and Eric and Donna roll their eyes.
HYDE: OK - fine, Kelso. I’ll pay for this trip - with my money - on one condition: I come too.
KELSO: What? No, Hyde! That throws off my whole plan!
HYDE: Then you’re not getting my money.
KELSO: Well, what do you want to come for anyway?
ERIC: Yes, Hyde - what do you want to come for?
HYDE: (beat) Kelso, all your master plans are stupid and blow up in your face. I could spend my poker winnings on beer, movies, and nudie mags, but those are there every weekend. Watching you crash and burn - that’s something special, man. And I don’t wanna miss it.
KELSO: (beat) Alright, you’re in. But we’re not bringing Fez! He’s all over Jackie right now, and I don’t need him trying to sabotage me.
ERIC: Yes, we wouldn’t want that. Would we, Hyde?
Hyde glares at Eric, who moves with Kelso to get into the front of the van. Hyde and Donna linger by the back. Donna takes a few steps toward Hyde.
DONNA: Hyde - you really do care about her, don’t you?
Hyde shifts on his feet.
HYDE: No...but do you wanna go through all that again? (imitating Jackie) “Oh my god, you’re so beautiful, Michael!” (imitating Kelso) “Oh my god, you’re so beautiful, Jackie!” (imitating Jackie) “But you screwed Laurie and made out with Pam Macy - you’re a dirty dog and an idiot!” (imitating Kelso) “Well, I’m gonna keep cheating on you, talk about breaking up behind your back every five seconds, then cry like a bitch when you break up with my dumb ass!”
DONNA: (laughing) Well, deny it all you want - this is the sweetest I think I’ve ever seen you. But I think it’s good for Jackie that she’s on her own right now. So please tell me you’re not gonna use this trip to crawl all over her like these other dorks.
HYDE: It’s like I told you - she didn’t feel anything. That’s that.
He looks down at the ground. Donna sighs, and reaches out to rub his shoulder.
DONNA (cont’d): Ugh, I can’t believe Kelso. And what about poor Fez? We’re leaving him all alone this whole weekend.
HYDE: Actually, I think he’ll be fine. He had some plans.
DONNA: What plans?
CUT TO:
INT. MOVIE THEATER - DAY
A packed theater sits back to enjoy a special screening of WILLY WONKA AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY. Pan across the first row until we arrive on FEZ, munching away at popcorn and chocolate. His eyes are wide and his mouth hangs open.
FILM (aud. only): Who can take a sunrise (who can take a sunrise) Sprinkle it with dew (sprinkle it with dew) Cover it with choc'late and a miracle or two...
Fez sits up straight and sings out, as loud as he can...
FEZ & FILM: The Candy Man! Oh, the Candy Man can!
Everyone sitting around Fez glares at him. He smiles apologetically and slumps back down into his seat.
CUT TO:
INT. FOREMAN LIVING ROOM - DAY
LAURIE sits on the couch in her bathrobe. She watches TV and sips at a mug of coffee. KITTY enters through the kitchen door. Seeing Laurie, she sucks in a deep breath and puts on a hard smile.
KITTY: Good afternoon, sunshine. We missed you at lunch. And breakfast. And dinner last night.
LAURIE: Yeah...I would’ve made it, but it interfered with my plans to not spend more time in this dump than I have to.
KITTY: (Laughs) So, ah - what do you have planned for the day?
LAURIE: Same as every day. Lie here, do my nails, avoid talking to you. It’s not going that well so far.
Kitty crosses to turn off the TV. Laurie makes a hollow gesture of protest, but doesn’t stir from her spot as Kitty joins her on the couch.
KITTY: Honey, you’ve done nothing but party all night and sleep all day for months.
LAURIE: Oh, come on, Mom.
KITTY: Oh, not ‘come on.’ Sweetie, I’m worried about you. The way you’re going, you’re going to end up like...like Aunt Martha.
Laurie sits up straight.
LAURIE: You think I’ll end up like Fat Martha? With the beer gut?
KITTY: The poor woman couldn’t even play putt-putt.
Laurie stands.
LAURIE: I can’t believe you’d say that about your own daughter! And if I ever take three hours at that game, it’s only because it’s really hard to get it in the hole!
She storms upstairs. Kitty picks up the coffee mug she left behind.
KITTY: Not a problem anyone’s ever had with you, I’m sure.
CUT TO:
EXT. ICE CABIN - DAY
Hyde and Eric unload the van as Donna, Kelso, and JACKIE stand back and take in the small, rickety ICE SHACK sitting on top of the frozen lake. Kelso grins, while the girls look incredulous.
DONNA: This is your uncle’s cabin?
KELSO: Yeah...now that we’re here, I guess I can tell you that part too. It’s more of an ice shack.
JACKIE: It’s an outhouse!
KELSO: No, it’s an ice shack!
He crosses over to a large metal barrel just outside the shack.
KELSO (cont’d): This is the outhouse. And the hot tub.
The girls glare. They join Eric and Hyde on their way back to the van, but Kelso walks after them.
KELSO (con’d): It’s for fishing. My uncle comes out here all the time! It’s gonna be a blast. Just us, in this beautiful snow, all weekend long, with plenty of beer. And we can catch all the fish we want!
HYDE: Oh, I see. So, on the ride back from this weekend in Hell, we can enjoy the smell of dead fish the whole way home? Oh, boy!
Jackie moves to Hyde’s left, as far from Kelso as she can get. Donna takes a step closer to Eric.
DONNA: It’s kind of cold.
ERIC: Oh, here - take my jacket.
He shrugs his jacket off and drapes it over Donna’s shoulders.
DONNA: I love you!
ERIC: God, were are such the...
They both turn to look at Kelso.
ERIC (cont’d): ...Perfect couple.
Kelso rolls his eyes. Jackie shivers.
JACKIE: I’m cold, too.
KELSO: Well, damn, Jackie, I can’t control the weather!
He notices Eric and Donna glaring at him, and catches on to his mistake.
KELSO (cont’d): I mean - of course you’re cold, Jackie!
He makes a big show of taking his jacket off and presenting it to her.
KELSO (cont’d): Here - take my jacket.
It is now Jackie’s turn to roll her eyes.
JACKIE: Forget it. Donna, let’s go inside.
DONNA: (to Eric) How does that sound to you, honey?
ERIC: I think that sounds like a great idea, sweetie.
DONNA: Oh my God, let’s go!
The two of them link hands and follow Jackie towards the ice shack. Kelso starts to follow, but Jackie holds up a hand to stop him.
JACKIE: You’re not coming in.
KELSO: What? Jackie, it’s my uncle’s cabin!
ERIC: Well, Kelso, you can always warm yourself up in the hot tub.
He drums lightly on the rim of the barrel. He disappears inside the shack with Donna. Jackie lingers in the doorway and looks at Hyde, still by the van.
JACKIE: Steven, are you coming?
HYDE: In a minute. Think I’ll fumigate the van for a little while first.
JACKIE: Won’t you be cold?
HYDE: (shrugs) I don’t feel anything.
He and Jackie look at each other. Jackie breaks away first, disappearing inside the shack and closing the door behind her. Kelso crosses over to Hyde and scoffs.
KELSO: Man, can you believe this? I mean, what’s the point of bringing Eric and Donna along if copying all his dorky moves doesn’t work?
HYDE: Yeah, man. It’s almost as if a half-assed plan to trick a girl into liking you by pretending to be someone you’re not is a bad idea.
KELSO: I know, right? I mean, that’s impossible, but it’s so close to what’s happening here.
Hyde sighs, claps Kelso on the shoulder, and pulls him along as he steps into the van.

INT. MOVIE THEATER - DAY
WILLY WONKA continues. The “PURE IMAGINATION” song plays off-screen. Fez has finished his popcorn, and is now chewing a piece of bubble gum. As the song’s first three chimes sound, he blows a bubble. On the second three chimes, he sucks the bubble back in his mouth. He repeats this pattern two more times, the bubble getting larger and larger each time, until...
CUT TO:
The bubble blows up, becoming a pink BUMPER.
FEZ (V.O.): Ai!
FADE TO:
INT. VAN - EVENING
A CIRCLE is in progess, starting on Hyde.
HYDE: Man, Kelso, I am so happy I’m not in your shoes right now. I mean, every part of your plan - the trip, the cabin, copying Foreman - has backfired. This was such a good way to blow that poker money!
Pan to Kelso.
KELSO: Jackie just doesn’t know how much fun ice fishing is. I mean, I was out here for four days with my uncle once. He fell in the ice, lost all his fish, and woke up a hibernating bear. I laughed my ass off! And I’m tired of everyone ragging on the shack. It’s cozy.
Pan to Hyde.
HYDE: Kelso, “cozy” is sharing a bed, or a couch, or the back seat of a Lincoln. Dragging a chick along under false pretenses is no way to get cozy anywhere. If you want to get down and dirty in a place that’s down and dirty, you’ve gotta be up-front about it.
Pan to Kelso.
KELSO: You’re just not thinking about what you can do when you throw a cot over the ice hole and...wait. Jackie drives her dad’s Lincoln...
Pan to Hyde.
HYDE: Yeah, well, that’s just...whatever. Look, Kelso - why do you even wanna do this, man? You’re still with Laurie, and Jackie’s moving on. Seeing other people. And some of them are pretty cool. Can’t you just give her a break?
Pan to Kelso.
KELSO: Man, it’s just not the same with Laurie. I mean, I know Jackie. I understand Jackie. I care about Jackie. And...and why do you care so much about Jackie?
The circle is broken. Hyde and Kelso stare at each other from opposite ends of the back of the van.
HYDE: What? That’s crazy, man! Who said I cared about Jackie?
KELSO: Yeah, you totally care! You let her take you to the mall after we broke up, you went to jail for her, and...and you took her on that date on Veteran’s Day!
HYDE: No I didn’t.
KELSO: You so did! And you’re keeping me in here, when I could be in there doing it!
HYDE: Kelso, Foreman and Donna are in there. The only thing you’re gonna “do” is get your nose rubbed in how much better they are at this than you.
KELSO: Oh, yeah? Well, just what happened on your date? You scam on her?
HYDE: What? No, man! It was nothing!
KELSO: You did it in the back of the Lincoln, didn’t you? Man, you don’t do that with another guy’s girl! That’s where we used to do it!
HYDE: We didn’t do it! And you also don’t trick your ex-girlfriend out to a frozen hell-hole so you can try and win her back while you’re still seeing the skank you cheated on her with. And Jackie’s not your girl anymore!
KELSO: Well, is she yours?
HYDE: She’s nobody’s! She said it herself at the end of the date, the kiss meant nothing!
KELSO: (gasps) Kiss? You’re dead, Hyde!
Kelso launches himself across the van at Hyde, and the two begin wrestling.
CUT TO:
INT. ICE SHACK - EVENING
Concurrent with the scene above. The shack is even dirtier-looking on the inside, with various pieces of fishing gear and winter clothing adorning the rough walls. Benches surround three sides of a square hole in the ice. Eric and Donna share the right bench, while Jackie sits on the center one. Eric has a fishing line in the water.
ERIC: Boy, ice fishing’s fun. Don’t you just love it here, Donna?
DONNA: Oh, Eric...it doesn’t matter where we are. It’s being together that makes it fun.
ERIC: You’d rather be anywhere else, wouldn’t you?
DONNA: Literally anywhere. You know me so well.
ERIC: Eskimo kiss!
They start nuzzling noses. Jackie looks on in disgust.
JACKIE: What the hell is with you two today?
Eric drapes an arm around Donna, and they both smile at Jackie.
ERIC: Oh, didn’t Kelso tell you? We’re the...(with Donna) perfect couple.
JACKIE: Yeah - perfectly nauseating!
ERIC: Well, if you don’t like what you see in here, missy, there’s some beautiful scenery and a wind chill near 10 just waiting for you outside.
JACKIE: At least you’re better company than Michael. God, can you believe that idiot? Who picks a small, smelly shack like this for a friends’ weekend? I don’t even think we could fit everyone in here!
ERIC: (flat) Oh, no. How could Kelso make such a terrible mistake?
Jackie pouts and looks at the door.
JACKIE: What’s keeping Steven? I hope he’s not too cold.
ERIC: Oh, a little worried about ‘Steven,’ are we?
Donna swats his chest playfully, and he withdraws his arm from her shoulder.
DONNA: (to Jackie) Jackie, we were saying earlier that it’s a bit strange you didn’t have anything to say after your date with Hyde the other day.
JACKIE: (shrugs) I didn’t think there was anything to say. I mean, at the time, I thought it was the most romantic moment of my life. Steven was jealous, he defended my honor, he took me out...and for a poor person, he can splurge when he wants to, ‘cause we got the good pizza. But when we got to the kiss, there just wasn’t anything there.
ERIC: Wait, so - Hyde can’t french? Well, that is just so good to know.
JACKIE: No, it wasn’t that. It was a hot kiss. I mean, hot. I just didn’t feel any different than I had all day.
DONNA: (beat) Jackie, you spent that whole day obsessed with Hyde.
JACKIE: (beat) Hey. Hey, you’re right, Donna! And Steven - Steven said he didn’t feel anything either, but only after I said I didn’t feel anything. And just now, when I asked him if he was cold, he said it again. But not like he really didn’t feel anything. More like he was upset.
ERIC: Jackie, to be fair, we’re sitting in an ice shack we were told was a cabin, with a trash can just outside that’s going to be our toilet and bath for the whole weekend. ‘Upset’ covers pretty much everyone right now.
JACKIE: Oh my God. What if Steven did feel something? And he just covered it up because he’s vulnerable and afraid and thinks no one would ever love him with those awful sideburns? And what if the reason I didn’t feel anything during the kiss is because I was already feeling all my love for Steven the whole day up to that point?
She rises and starts for the door, but Donna reaches out to take her sleeve. Jackie sits back down.
DONNA: OK, Jackie, slow down. Ever since you and Kelso broke up, you’ve been all over the place with guys, but the last few days, you haven’t worried about that at all. And I think that’s good for you.
JACKIE: But Donna, I have to talk to Steven. What if -
DONNA: You can talk to him, Jackie. I’m just saying that everyone needs some time alone. You can get to know yourself and get more comfortable with who you are.
ERIC: Yeah, Jackie. At least until you find your... (puts his arm back around Donna) ...perfect couple.
DONNA: (laughs) Yeah. (beat) And, you know. After that, too. Sometimes.
ERIC: What do you mean?
DONNA: Well, Eric, I love you, but I need some time for me too.
ERIC: Yeah, but that’s not what you’re talking about. You’re talking about time to yourself as in, not being with anyone. Are you saying you’d want a break from...from us?
DONNA: Eric, it’s not a big deal. I mean, you need some time to yourself too. It’s not like we go everywhere together. We don’t go to the bathroom together.
ERIC: (voice breaking) Well, we’ll have to up here! We don’t have a choice!
Before they can continue arguing, a loud crack sounds from outside the shack, and Kelso and Eric’s yelps can be heard. Eric, Donna, and Jackie hurry to the door.
CUT TO:
EXT. ICE SHACK - EVENING
The door to the shack opens, and Eric, Donna, and Jackie spill out just as Hyde and Kelso leap out of the back of the van. Hyde’s sunglasses are crooked and he holds his right hand in his left. Kelso has his right hand over his right eye. The cracking sound continues.
ERIC: You guys, what happened?
KELSO: I don’t know. All of a sudden, the van just started shaking!
HYDE: ‘All of a sudden?’ You jumped me, you tool!
DONNA: Uh...guys?
Everyone turns to watch as Kelso’s van slowly sinks into the ice. Kelso looks horrified, while the others seem torn between anger and schadenfreude. Kelso whips his belt off.
KELSO: Quick, everyone give me your belts. Together, we can pull it out!
A splash of water shoots up as the van begins sinking quicker. Everyone takes a step back. Kelso looks around pleadingly, but no one else moves to take their belts off. The van disappears beneath the water.
HYDE: Man, this master plan just keeps getting better and better. For me.
JACKIE: (to Kelso) Michael, what ‘master plan?’
KELSO: Who cares, Jackie? I’m losing my van!
Jackie pouts at Kelso as he stares at the hole where his van used to be. Hyde rubs his right hand, and Eric and Donna glare at each other.

INT. ICE SHACK - NIGHT
Later that night. Donna sits on the right bench alone, while Jackie and Hyde share the left bench. Donna has her arms crossed, and Jackie watches while Hyde holds a cold beer can to the knuckles of his right hand.
Someone bangs on the door.
KELSO (v.o.): OK guys, I’m getting really tired of being kicked out of my shack!
No one even looks up.
ERIC (v.o.): Donna? Honey? I think this is enough alone time for one night, OK?
DONNA: (stands) Can it, you dillholes!
She sits back down. Jackie takes the beer can from Hyde.
JACKIE: Here, let me help you.
She holds it to his knuckles.
HYDE: Don’t hang on to it too long. I need it cold when I pop it open to drink.
Jackie rolls her eyes and looks around the shack.
JACKIE: God, how could Michael think this would win me back? After all the crap he did, he’d have to take me to Aspen before I’d even consider letting him touch me again.
HYDE: You mean you’d consider it at all?
JACKIE: (beat) No. Why, do you care?
HYDE: (beat) Whatever.
They look away from each other. Another knock comes to the door.
ERIC (v.o.): OK, we’re gonna go for help, but just so you know - Kelso’s already talking about sharing warmth, and I don’t know how long this walk is, so you just think about that during your alone time, missy!
Donna, Jackie, and Hyde all share looks of disgust.
CUT TO:
INT. FOREMAN LIVING ROOM - NIGHT
Kitty paces behind the couch nervously, while RED sits in his chair reading the paper. Laurie enters from the stairs.
LAURIE: Alright, I’m here. Let’s get this over with.
She throws herself down on the couch.
KITTY: Good evening to you too. Honey, we feel that you need some direction in your life.
RED: (not looking up) And by we, she means her.
Kitty scowls at Red before turning back to Laurie.
KITTY: Laurie, you have no future ahead of you, and you have nothing in your life right now. Just look at how you spent today. You sat around, watched TV, and drank all your father’s beer.
RED: (looks up) And in the future, always save one beer for Daddy.
LAURIE: (to Kitty) Look, will you get off my back? I have a plan for my future, alright? Find a guy who’s loaded and get married.
KITTY: You? Married? I think you left out the part about the unexpected pregnancy and the quickie divorce for your fiancee!
RED: See, Kitty? She has it all worked out. She’ll find someone who’s rich, and nice, and...not Kelso. Someone who can take care of her.
LAURIE: Exactly! (beat) But - Daddy, I could have a career of my own if I wanted, right?
RED: (beat) Well, sure. I just don’t want you to set yourself up for...like what happened at the college. If you set the bar too high, the fall might be...you’re just so pretty!
KITTY: Oh, I give up.
She storms upstairs. Red stands.
RED: Kitty, wait! (to Laurie) Here’s five dollars.
He slips her a five and runs after his wife. Laurie stares at the money and sighs.
The doorbell rings. Laurie stands and crosses to the door. She opens it to reveal Fez, his face and hair a sticky pink mess of bubble gum.
LAURIE: What the hell happened to you?
FEZ: Please don’t laugh. They all laughed. The audience, the usher, the ticket boy...even the Oompa-Loompas seemed to mock me with their doompaty-doo-doo.
Laurie bites her finger to keep back a laugh.
FEZ (cont’d): I cannot get the sticky out! Please, help me?
LAURIE: (shrugs) Well, at least someone’s day sucks worse than mine. Get in here.
She takes Fez by the shoulder and pulls him inside. She struggles to get her hand free; once she does, she lightly pokes him in the back with one finger to guide him into the kitchen.
CUT TO:
INT. ICE SHACK - NIGHT
Donna stands and looks out the window. Hyde and Jackie still share the left bench. Hyde is now drinking his beer, while Jackie holds his right hand and examines his knuckles.
JACKIE: What I don’t understand, Steven, is why you’d even come on this stupid trip if you didn’t care about what Michael was up to.
HYDE: Have you been sleeping this whole time? Gilligan does better with plans than Kelso. I’m getting prime-time entertainment here - with beer.
He holds up his can and takes a sip.
JACKIE: Then why did you keep Michael outside instead of watching him try something with me? And (holds up Hyde’s hand) what were you two fighting about in the van?
HYDE: (beat) Uh...boy, Foreman’s sure been gone a long time, huh, Donna?
DONNA: Yeah. I hope he’s OK. (turns to face the others) But what did he have to get so worked up for? I’m with him. I love him. Why can’t he see that ‘time alone’ for me doesn’t mean ‘time broken up from him?’
HYDE: Come on, Donna. If it surprises you that Foreman’s a spaz at this point, you haven’t been paying attention. I mean, the guy’s got no self-esteem. He’s still floored you’re even with him. Yeah, he was a little insecure, but you didn’t need to leave him out there with Kelso. I don’t know what that guy meant by sharing warmth, but whatever it is, Foreman’s not gonna like it.
DONNA: (laughs) OK, maybe that was a little much. (looks back to window) I wish they’d get back soon.
JACKIE: (to Hyde) And what about your insecurities, Steven? Did you or did you not feel something after our date on Veteran’s Day?
HYDE: (beat) Does it matter? You didn’t feel anything.
JACKIE: Well...
HYDE: Wait. You did feel something?
JACKIE: (beat) I thought I didn’t. But now, I think maybe I did. Ugh, I don’t know!
HYDE: Well...(beat) I did. And I do.
Jackie’s left hand goes over her heart. Donna looks back over to them, grinning.
DONNA: Aww...
HYDE (cont’d): (to Donna) Get bent! (to Jackie) So, what happens now?
Jackie closes both her hands around Hyde’s right.
JACKIE: I think Donna was right that I need some time for myself. But, when that’s over, I want to give us another chance. So, Steven - will you wait for me?
HYDE: So, you use me as a shoulder to cry on over Kelso, stalk me for weeks, send me to jail, and when we finally go on a date and I tell you I felt something, you expect me to wait around while you take time to sort things out? (beat) God help me, I’ll do it.
Jackie beams and throws her arms around Hyde’s neck. He struggles to keep a straight face as he pats her back. Donna happily looks on.
CUT TO:
INT. FOREMAN LIVING ROOM - NIGHT
Red leads Kitty back down the stairs.
RED: Now, try not to worry so much. Laurie’s just a child, after all.
KITTY: She was a child ten years ago, Red. She is a woman, and that woman is going to end up with a beer gut and gout!
Red sighs. He takes Kitty over to the couch, and they both sit down.
Laurie bursts in from the kitchen.
LAURIE: (to Kitty) OK, look. The reason I haven’t done anything with my life is because I didn’t know what I wanted to do.
KITTY: Well, sweetie, the post office has a dental plan that’s -
LAURIE: Shhh! But earlier tonight, something happened that made me realize that I’ve found my passion. Hair!
KITTY: (beat) The musical?
LAURIE: No! (she tugs on her hair) Hair! Look!
She steps to the right of the kitchen door and holds out her hands in presentation. Fez steps out, with a short, closely-cropped hairstyle. All trace of gum is gone. He stands with his hands on his hips and a very satisfied expression.
LAURIE (cont’d): Fez had a little accident, and I fixed it! And when I thought about it, I could see that this is where all my talents were! Mom, Daddy - I’m going to beauty school!
KITTY: This isn’t something you do through the mail, is it?
LAURIE: No. It’s a real school!
KITTY: Oh. Well...yay!
She starts applauding.
RED: Congratulations, sweetheart!
LAURIE: Thanks, Daddy! (to Fez) Come on, Fez. Let me practice a manicure on you, and I’ll introduce you to my easy friend Susanne.
Fez grins, and he lets Laurie usher him back into the kitchen.
RED: So, Kitty, what do you think?
KITTY: Eh.
RED: Yeah.
He turns on the TV, and they settle down on the couch.
CUT TO:
INT. ICE SHACK - NIGHT
Everyone is still in their same places. A knock sounds at the door. Donna hurries to unlock it. Eric is waiting outside, his cheeks and nose red with the cold.
DONNA: Oh my God. Are you alright?
ERIC: Oh, yeah. Three mile walk to the nearest rest stop, three miles back, snow, wind chill, no big deal.
Donna cups his head in her hands and kisses him.
DONNA (cont’d): Eric, I’m sorry.
ERIC: (beat) Me too. (gestures over his shoulder) One of the truckers offered us a ride. He’s waiting outside.
DONNA: My hero.
ERIC: Perfect couple?
DONNA: Of course!
They share another Eskimo kiss, gather up their things, and head outside. Jackie and Hyde stand. As Jackie collects her bag, Hyde takes his jacket off and puts it around her. She looks at him.
HYDE: (shrugs) You looked kind of cold.
JACKIE: Thank you.
She briefly places a hand on his cheek. They get their things and head outside.
CUT TO:
EXT. ICE SHACK - NIGHT
Kelso is standing right by the doorway of the shack as Hyde and Jackie leave. He notices Hyde’s coat around Jackie, and that the two are walking closely together and smiling at one another. He gasps in shock.

A/N: Hi hi! We are slowly going through our requests one by one! Hope to finish soon so we can be open again!! Thank you for being so patient with us! I love you all!! - Admin Spring
“Don’t go to sleep.”
“Don’t close your eyes.”
“You aren’t asleep right?”
But then you heard His soft snores across the line. You looked up in disbelief and sighed dramatically. You groaned in annoyance rolling onto your back. You both were screwed now. About 3 to 4 hours had accumulated since you started working on this assignment together, and here you were with about less than half of it complete and your only hope asleep.
“SUNGW-“ you cut yourself short when the crappy, lagging laptop camera was bumped and showing him with a peaceful look and fluffy hair shadowing his face.
He looked really cute like that and you would feel bad for waking him. He did try to stay awake at least.
“Ugh forget it,” you say sitting up, “I guess we’ll just fail together.”
-
“I am so so sorry,” he repeated for the 15th time that morning, “I tried so hard to-“
“Sungwoon for the last time, it’s ok!!”
“But now we are gonna fail!”
“Oh please, you know we would have failed anyways,” you laugh trying to lighten the mood, but he still had a pout on his face. “I promise it’s ok. It’s only one assignment, I don’t care that much.”
You walked in the class with Sungwoon in tow, sitting down on your usual seats. Your phone started ringing, loud. You thought it to be an alarm you forgot to turn off. Pulling it out you saw an unusual caller, it was your sister, but the reason it was weird was because she never called, usually only texting you when you were a school.
“Ms. Y/L/N,” your teacher sternly said, “Turn that phone off. Put it up right now.”
“It’s my si-“
“I don’t care who it is, if it’s important they can call the school office.”
You looked at Sungwoon and he noticed the worry on your face. Something was wrong and you didn’t know what.
“Hey, Is everything ok?”
“My sister, she never calls, I think it’s important…” you keep glancing up at the front where your teacher is busy with work again. “I’m scared.”
“Ask to go to the bathroom and take your phone,” he says at a low whisper, just then the phone starts lighting up, except it was on vibrate now. You stood up quickly and grabbing your bag. You head towards your teacher.
“Mrs. Stowe, can I go to the bathroom?”
“Why do you have a bag?”
“Oh um,” you leaned down whispering, lady problems.”
She nodded giving you permission to leave and you glance back at Sungwoon who was staring at you before walking out.
You speed-walked through the hall to the bathrooms. Pulling out your phone quickly and answering the still-ringing phone.
“FINALLY. It’s dad!”
“What??”
“Dad, he-he passed out and started seizing,” her words all blurring into one, there was immense panic in her voice and she was blubbering through her tears you guessed. She was talking so low it was kind of hard to hear.
“What’s happening now?”
“I called 911, they took him in an ambulance. Me and mom went straight there, you need to drive here as soon as possible.”
“O-Ok.”
Your hands were shaking now and tears were running down your face. You felt like you couldn’t move. You legs felt like they could give out under you at any second so you fell forward onto the sinks. You had a massive headache from crying who knows how long and felt dizzy now. You managed to stumble back to class.
Opening the door the class looked at you with surprise, but you didn’t have time to acknowledge any of them.
“M-mrs. Stowe, I have to leave, can I go sign out?” you walked towards her.
“Y/N, what happened?” this voice wasn’t your teacher’s voice, but Sungwoon’s who was standing by you now with his hand on your back.
“M-My da-d” you didn’t know if your words were coherent, but Sungwoon seemed to understand as he pulled you into his chest as you cried.
“I’ll take her, Mrs. Stowe,”
Before she could stop you both, you had walked out the door together. You made your way to the office awkwardly since you were still in his arms and trying to walk at the same time.
“You can’t sign out right now,”
“It’s an emergency, we have to go.”
“I told her she was free to go.”
“Ma’am, she can’t drive like this! Do you want her to crash?”
They argued between the office staff and Sungwoon, but finally he was able to get you out. You made it to his car and got in.
“T-thank you.”
He only replied with the sweetest of smiles and leaning over to buckle your seat belt. You sat in silence, the radio hadn’t been turned on since you got in and now it felt weird to turn it on.
You held one hand in the other and kept rubbing your palms with the opposite thumb. You felt a warmth enclose your hands and grab one. It was Sungwoon’s.
“You’re doing that thing. It’s alright, Y/N.”
“What thing?”
“Your nervous tick, you start messing with your hands.” It became silent again, but a little more of a comfortable silence this time.
Soon you arrived at the hospital and ran in together. You saw your sister sitting in a chair against the wall and went over.
“Hey! How is he? What’s happening?”
“Not too sure, Mom told me to wait out here for you and she hasn’t come back yet.” her face was red from crying, but she sounded more calm then on the phone. It was all a facade to try to be strong for you, you could see through her. She was scared too.
“I’m gonna go out for a bit, I can’t stay here it’s making it worse.”
“Oh…ok. What should I tell mom if she comes back?”
“That I needed space, i don’t know…” she shrugged and with that walking through the sliding doors.
You tapped your foot incessantly on the floor and began fumbling with your hands. Sungwoon grabbed your hand again like in the car.
“Don’t worry, I’m sure everything will be ok.” He said interlocking your fingers and rubbing his thumb across yours.
“But…what if it isn’t?” you looked up at him with teary eyes. His mouth opened, but when he couldn’t find words he closed it again. His hand came up to wipe away the wetness and it stung since your cheeks were raw from all the previous tears you had cried that day.
Your breathing was heavy and difficult, it felt like a weight on your chest that you tried to keep afloat with unpatterned breathing. Your heart raced due to all the adrenaline and you were shaking everywhere.
He pulled you closer, but the armrests kept a boundary between you. You moved away putting a hand on your side that was being smashed against it. He motioned for you to come sit in his lap instead and after a little hesitation you complied.
You relaxed your body into his arms as he cradled you. Laying your head in the crook of his neck while he rubbed your arm in attempt to soothe you. Which it did because your eyes, both puffy and tired, closed and soon enough you fell asleep.

“Hey Hey! Y/N, wake up sweetie!” your eyes slowly opened and you squint at the bright sunlight shining in. “Your father, he’s ok! Y/N, he’s ok!” Your mom was crouching in front of you where you still sat on Sungwoon and gripping your hand tightly to her chest. You could feel him waking up behind you to and you stood up pulling your mom in the process.
“He’s really ok? Oh mom!” You both were crying again, but not because of fear this time, it was happiness. “Can I see him?”
-
It turned out that your father had not been sleeping right due to stressing over work and it had caused the seizure. The doctor recommended for him to take a week or two off and just rest. Your whole family seemed to do the same too so that you could tend to him since he still was a little weak.
This is what you explained to Sungwoon over the phone when he had called and asked how he was and where you’d been. He understood, but complained about how he was “so bored” without you.
“Why don’t you come over then? You can bring me my school work too, please!”
“Really?? Ok, I’ll be over in 20.”
And he was. You were sitting on the bed doing your nails while he spun in your chair for the 100th time probably.
“How do you learn how to do all that stuff?”
“What?”
“Like nails, hair, that kinda stuff.”
“Well my mom taught me a lot, but internet too, I don’t know you just pick it up.”
“Can I try?”
“Pfff, really?” you inspect his face waiting for the “just kidding” but it didn’t come.
“Yes, really, just show me what to do.”
“Uh ok, get the paint, like so, and just brush it on all sides of the nail, it’s pretty easy.”
He did as he was told and grabbed your hand bringing it to him. He was kneeling at the end of the bed and awkwardly pinning your hand down to hold it steady.
“Ow, that hurts, geez. Don’t get it on my sheets!!!”
“Stop whining!”
He picked up your hand holding it in his, getting up to sit on the bed and then started painting. His hand was gentler now, it felt warm on yours and he held it so delicately this time.
You leaned in to get a better look at what he was doing. More of it seemed to be on your skin than nail, but you just let him continue. He looked up at you after hearing a giggle. He was close and for some reason your heart picked up in speed.
It was like he was carved out of clay and the artist took a long time making sure it was smoothed out. His features were all soft. Little dark eyes with brows bordering them and a cute nose right at center. Until it came to his lips, they were full and unforgivably bold compared to the rest of his face.
People say when they are faced with a situation like this that their mind goes blank, but that’s nothing like what yours did. You were thinking.
Think.
That’s all you could do. Should you do something? Move in? Move away? Why is your heart pounding like this? Is this still your best friend? Do you have feelings? His lips look nice. Do you wanna kiss him? Are you gonna kiss your best friend?
So many questions ran through your head and you didn’t know how to react to any of this. Your eyes searching his face for his emotions, but had the same expression you did.
Then at what was like the same time you both leaned forward and interlocking lips. You closed your eyes and the world felt muted and all your thoughts were directed at only him. His lips were smooth and warm on yours just like his hand had been. Which was still holding on, but tighter now and you were being pulled to him as if there was any closer.
The kissing was quick, but still cautious at the same time. You didn’t break apart for awhile until your lungs felt heavy and you couldn’t catch your breath. You pulled away, but not far and you found yourself searching his face again.
Then what happened circled back and you covered your mouth with your hand.
“What the hell just…”
“What the hell,” he copied with an awkward laugh. He stood up off the bed and grabbed his things off the desk. He walked through the doorway out of sight before coming back in view. He opened his mouth, but closed it, then reopening it said, “I-I’ll text you.” Before you knew it, he was gone.
The next day you had planned on coming back to school, but you felt so nervous to see Sungwoon now. People asked how your dad was which made you feel really loved and cared for.
You were in a conversation when Sungwoon rounding the corner caught your eye and you seemed to catch his too. You looked away quickly, keeping intense eye contact with the friend you were talking to, afraid to look back at him.
You couldn’t avoid him forever though, once you got to class your usual seat as right beside his. You sat down without saying a word and he glanced at you a little.
It couldn’t be like this forever. You needed to talk about it. You both went it for that kiss, it wasn’t forced. So would it continue or would you go back to being friends?
You began thinking about him in a different way now. He knew you, better than anyone. He knew how to calm you down, how to make you laugh, how to make you emotional, what made you mad. Maybe you could be a couple. You didn’t know if he felt the same and whether you wanted to risk breaking the friendship to find out.
If you were to end up together, what would happen if you broke up. It’d be over for the both of you.
You opened your mouth to say something which he noticed and turned towards you. You glanced at your teacher at the board talking away and back at him. So you took out a piece of paper instead and wrote on it.
“After school lets hangout , we should talk.”
-
He drove you to his house which was a short drive from the school. You both were on his bed together in silence when you got in. He was laying back while you sat with one leg hanging off.
“So…” you said breaking the silence, but not knowing where to go from there.
“So,” he copied, “Well we kissed and like I personally enjoyed it.” You turned to him mouth agape.
“Why are like this?”
“Because yeah, it’s weird, but let’s face it, we both leaned in.” Your face was beet red and his looked to be too. Despite how child he was being with his words. You turned back around and he started moving behind you. Your phone dinged and you reached for it.
“Soo, I have a crush on my best friend and I think I like you.” it was a text from that idiot. You turned to see him smirking at you which made you break into a small smile.
“Bro, I think I like you too.”
“Bro,” he replied with a little emoji. You started giggling and he leaned up to be right next you when you turned.
“Then…can I kiss you again?”

author’s note: I decided to turn this into something a little more angsty, in couldn't resist lol I hope you enjoy. Updates for this series on Thursday or Friday, enjoy!
You panted heavily, stretching your arms and holding your hands behind your head to give your lungs a break. The sun hadn't risen yet. You liked to jog early in the morning, to avoid the pounding heat of the sun. Mom always says exercise is a good way to take time for yourself, but you're using it as an outlet to escape from what's been going on. Your brother hasn't been home for a week now and you couldn't help but get worried—well, you were relieved and worried. The house was peaceful; but sad and even depressing.
You were ashamed to admit how bad you've been emotionally eating. When you got home from work you went straight for the sweets, or you wouldn't eat at all. When you were at school you were getting by on boba teas. But this week you made the decision to get yourself together, eat better, exercise and even sleep more. It was making a difference, somewhat. After this you had a doctors appointment, your body pains have gotten better so you were hoping you could get off of the pills soon.
The bridge crossing the lake was just as beautiful as it was at night, it looked so poetic in a way. It was the kind of place friends should go to walk and talk about their innermost feelings and joys. When your dad was still living he'd take you and your along with him to walk around the city. The packed train station was a place to look for adventure, pick a place to stop and your adventure begins. The pictures in my distant memories were perfect—the current me was an image, a moment where loneliness had stopped time. No one would know how lonely you were. You didn't even know.
I drove back home, eager to get to the shower.
You walked up to the counter, handing the nurse your papers. “Hi, I'm here for the 8:45 appointment with Dr. Lu.”
“Ok, I'll check you in. You can have a seat.” She went to her computer and you went to wait in the tiny waiting room.
A few minutes went by and they called you to the back.
“Hello Miss. Y/LN. How are you?” He came in, smiling with his usual clipboard and coat.
“Hi,” You sat down, holding your purse in your lap, “I'm good, and you?”
“I'm great.” He looked over his papers and sighed. “So, how are your body pains? Has the medicine helped?”
“Yeah, my shoulders still get to me when I'm really stressed but other than that they've been pretty good. I was wondering if I should keep taking them, you know? I just don't want my body to become dependent on it...it kind of makes me depressed, I shouldn't have these problems, I'm so young...”
He nodded his head for a few seconds before sighing. “Well, it's not fibro myalgia so that's good. And you can get body pain for a number of reasons, it's not always age. But you told me that sometimes your almost in tears from the pain, I do want you to live comfortably. I will prescribe the same pain killers and you can pick them up at the drug store.”
“Thank you Dr. Lu, I really appreciate.” He opened the door and you bid him farewell. When you got to the front desk the nurse gave you the prescription and you thanked her.
You left with your purse on your shoulder and the prescription in hand. You couldn't have been more lonely right now. With heavy steps you walked to the bus station and sat on the bench.
When the bus finally pulled up you used your coins to pay before walking to your usual spot, leaning your head against the glass.
“Ok ma'am, we'll have it out in a second.” The pharmacist went to the back to get the medicine. As you waited you saw a familiar head of hair in the isle behind you, you tried to lean back and see who it was but right when you went back the person left and they handed you the medication.
“Here you go.”
“Thank you.”
You paid for it and went on your way.
“Here.” Yoongi tossed the wrist brace on Namjoons lap.
“Thanks Hyung.”
“I don't know how you sprained your wrist cleaning the bathroom.” He laughed, Namjoon just shrugged.
He sniffed. “Hyung...” Namjoon gave Yoongi a knowing look before sighing. “Are you smoking again? You only smoke when your reevaluating your life or some shit like that.” Namjoon sat next to him on the couch, fastening the wrist brace.
“It's nothing, really.” He shrugged.
“Is it your mom?” He saw Yoongi’s expression bo blank, that's what it was. “It is isn't, what happened Yoongi, is she okay?”
He sighed. “Her and my dad are still legally married, he's in a relationship right now so he's trying to divorce her.” He rested his head in his hands as his elbows rested on his knees. “He's fucking sick. He knows she's under his health care, if that stops I don't know how she'll be able to stay at rehab.”
“Can't she get help from the government? You know, like government assistance.”
“Yeah, but they'll just give her more shitty drugs and put her in a group home, to rot. Where she is now is much better for her recovery, it's expensive but she's getting better and at least I know she's safe there.” Yoongi was hiding it well but Namjoon could sense how upset he was. He was always worried about her, regardless of her troubled past. When he was at his piano late at night, thinking Namjoon wasn't awake, he wept. Those black and white keys were coated in his tears, he'd bang on the keys and shout in a drunken fit when he was really upset. He never remembered doing it though, he'd wake up with a bad hangover, not knowing the things he'd done the night before.
“I have to talk to him...I'm stalling though.” He sort of chuckled, he hated talking to that unreasonable man.
“You know I'm here, I'll do anything I can to help.” He gave his shoulder a comforting pat before he left. “I'll be at the studio if you need me.”
When Namjoon closed the door Yoongi leaned back on the couch, what was he gonna do? He only wanted what was best for her. He couldn't visit her often and when he did he had to prepare himself, mentally. She used to have a bad addiction when he was a kid, she got a hold of the wrong prescriptions and her life went downhill from there. She had never been more disappointed in her self, she blamed herself for all of Yoongi’s problems. That guilt alone ate her from the inside out. Just recently is when she started to learn how to forgive herself, except that he forgives her.
“Y/N! We're still waiting on those sandwiches!”
“I'm sorry! They're coming out.” You were using the panini press to make what seemed the hundredth sandwich today. You were struggling to get the food finished so instead of looking for the things you tried to grab it with your hand.
“Agh!” You hissed, there were now red grill marks on your hand. You threw the sandwiches on the plate and sat the food in the window. I'm done. You've been here since 9:30 and it's going on 7 o'clock. You ran to the sink to rinse off your burn. When you went to the front one of your coworkers asked if you could help with the ice teas.
“There's a peach black tea and- Oh my God, what happened to your hand?”
Instinctively, you tried to hide it. “I-it's nothing, just a little burn.” You tried to play it off like it was nothing, even though it felt like your skin was boiling.
After the last cup of tea, you could finally leave, you got your bag, took off your apron and you went on your way.
It was drizzling outside so you ran to the bus stop, trying to shield your face from the relentless drops. There was a slight breeze in the air and you caught a whiff of smoke, you coughed a little looking for the source. You looked back and saw a pretty pale hand resting outside of a car window, skin of that color could only belong to one person you knew of.
Min Yoongi. He must've seen you too because he was letting down the passenger's side window. “Hey.” He took a long drag of his cigarette before putting it out. You never would've guessed he smoked, then again you never really know how people are or what they do when you're not around.
“Hi.” You held your hand above your head, trying to keep the rain from getting on your face
“Are you taking the bus?”
You nodded, pushing the strands of hair behind your ear with squinted eyes.
“You'll be waiting for a while, come on. I'll take you home.” He leaned over to open the door as you scurried over.
“Thanks.” You sighed, putting on your seat belt.
When you looked over at him, you could tell there was something different about him. You weren't sure what it was, you just knew there was something off. You two sat there for a while, he was on his phone and you just waited patiently for him to pull off.
“What happened to your hand?” He suddenly pointed to the grill like marks on the back of your hand.
“It's from the panini press.” You answered simply, licking your lips as you noticed how dark it had become.
"It looks painful.” He commented without actually looking at it. You just nodded. The drive was sort of awkward because of the obvious elephant in the room. The two of you hadn't talked in almost two weeks, you haven't had any piano lessons from him and he hasn't offered. But now he's driving you home—he actually remembered where you lived. He took all the right turns but of course ran into the usual traffic.
“So, are we gonna talk about it?” Yoongi asked suddenly, saying what you had been thinking about this whole time. You relaxed when he stopped at the red light, his attention, for the first time, undivided and on you. To his disdain you just shook your head, maybe he wanted a more in-depth answer but you didn't feel the need to give one. You're both adults and it was a little kiss. It shouldn't have consumed your thoughts like it did. He took a deep breath before sighing once again—he does that a lot you've noticed. “Do you still want lessons...”
“Um...yeah, I still want to learn...” You cleared your throat, the smell of smoke still lingered in the car. It was hard to really look at him. His appearance had changed since the last time you saw him. His eyes were darker, his hands were paler and he looked tired. The last time you saw him you two had kissed in the rain, that wasn't something you just do with anyone. It was so impulsive and out of character of him, he didn't know what he was acting on. It could've been desperation, neediness, he could've been compelled by the desire of physical touch, he really didn't know. You kind of blame yourself for making the relationship so casual, you were the one who asked him on a date. Who does that to their piano teacher?
When he pulled up to your house you were both equally shocked to see the parking lot full of cars. He's back, you thought. The sound of laughter and music was an indicator that Jaebum was having a party.
“Sorry to bother you but, do you have any aspirin?” Yoongi looked to you with the tilt of his head. “I have the worst headache.”
“Yeah, I'm pretty sure we have some. I'll bring you one.” You got out and went up the stairs with your key in hand.
You didn't want to go in there. The horrid smell of body odor and alcohol was never something you were fond of. You pushed the key in the lock and opened the door slowly, you could already smell the marijuana and beer wafting in the air.
There were a bunch of people, you didn't even know he knew so many people. To get out of this suffocating environment you immediately went to your room, glad you decided to lock it before leaving this morning. You could hear Jaebum shouting nonsense, he was drunk, as expected. You quickly closed your room door and went to your bathroom.
“Aspirin, aspirin...” You searched through your medicine and you couldn't find any. You were gonna text him but quickly you remember you left your bag in his car. You were about to leave your room but you heard someone walk in, you froze.
One of Jaebums friends.
“Y/N, I thought Jaebum said y- you were gone?” He was either high or drunk—but probably both.
You ignored him, hoping he'd let you pass by without a problem. Judging by the look on his face he wasn't intending on letting you leave anytime soon.
“Excuse me.” You tried to walk past him but he grabbed you but the shoulders and pushed you back.
“What the hell?! Move!” Demanded, getting angrier and angrier by the second.
“Why don't we close the door and a have some fun?” He closed the door behind him and stalked towards you. “I've always had my eyes on you, you know that? You may be annoying but your fine as hell.” He was already right in front of you—your heart was beating out of your chest in fear.
“Don't do this.” That didn't sound as confident as you intended. He pushed you on the bed, trying to pin you down as you flailed violently.
“Get off! I- I don't want this!” You cried.
“What's taking her so long?” He put out his cigarette. You've been up there's for almost five minutes, how long doesn't it take to find some aspirin. He decided he'd go up there and see if you were ok, it wasn't like you to just not sat anything. When he got upstairs he didn't bother knocking, the door was open. Some hoe saw him when he walked in and strolled over.
“What's your name?” She walked over with a red solo cup in her hand.
He just walked away, not bothering to actually give her the time of day. He navigated through the groups of people to get to your bedroom, he knocked.
No answer.
Your light was on so you were in there, did you not hear him. He knocked again. “Y/N? Hey, I don't need the aspirin, it's okay if you don't have it.”
Yoongi? Thank God.
“Yoongi!” Your shouting was muffled by the hand over your mouth. “H-help-” You couldn't get out a coherent call for help.
“Who the hell is that?” He frowned. He didn't wait for a response, he was quickly attempting to undress you and you barely had the strength to push him. No, no, no...you were squirming and he kept squeezing your arm, eliciting bloodcurdling cries from your mouth.
You bit his hand. “YOONGI!!” You screamed bloody murder, probably scaring the life out of your neighbors.
Yoongi immediately barged in to see you in tears underneath some lowlife, crying and kicking. “Get the fuck off of her! You piece of shit!” Yoongi ripped him off of you and they were tussling on the floor. When the guy stood up Yoongi punched him, causing him to fall back almost instantly.
“What the hell?” Jaebum walked in, looking at Yoongi, then at you, then one of his best friends.
“The fuck?” Jaebum narrowed his brows. “Is this your boyfriend Y/N?”
You were too busy trying to situate your clothes and wipe your tears to answer him. It was pissing Yoongi off the way Jaebum totally disregarded the obvious situation you were in.
“Y/N fucking talk.” He raised his voice at you but you only got up to go to the bathroom and clean yourself up.
“Hey! I'm talking to you!” He ran over and yanked you back by the arm, you winced.
You were in a lot of pain and you could barely cry out anymore.“No! Stop-”
Yoongi pulled you behind him. “Don't you fucking touch her.” You ran into the bathroom, leaving your brother and Yoongi in a stare off.
“Who the fuck are you? Her damn guardian angel or something? What makes you think you can go around knocking out my friends?” Jaebum pushed Yoongis chest, challengingly him.
“It's none of your damn business. That son of a bitch was literally assaulting her, your own sister! Did you not fucking see her!? That friend of yours doesn't have respect worth shit.” Some noisy people came to crowd at the door and Jaebum was livid, Yoongi was exposing him in front of everyone. Humiliating him more and more by the second.
“You're one cocky bastard to come into my house talking shit. If she was about to get screwed then she had it coming. And we’re not blood, it's step-sister.” Jaebum had absolutely no sympathy for you, his own family was like nothing to him.
“Fuck you!” Yoongi threw a punch so hard, he will have that bruise for months. He opened your bathroom door, seeing you crying at the sink. Without a word he grabbed your hand, dragging you out of this hell hole.
“Y-yoongi...wait-” You struggled to get it out. Inevitably you gave up trying to explain, you followed him to his car with your head down. You got in the passenger's side and he drove off.
“You're staying over my place tonight.” That's all he said.
He had to be going at least 15 miles over the speed limit.
His jaw was clenched tight, his grip on the steering wheel was like iron. You couldn't imagine what he might be thinking, you looked at him again. He's never looked better than he did right now, why was that? You couldn't figure it out, maybe there was something about his eyes, they were so focused.
There were dry tear stains on your face, your hair was a mess and you could feel the bruises from where that guy had hit you. Yoongi pulled into a driveway, turned off the car and got out. You watched him walk around so he could open your door. You grabbed your backpack, following him to the front door. When he opened it up to you shyly walked in.
“Hyung?” Namjoon walked out of his room. “I thought you were-”
“Y/N is staying the night.” Yoongi waved to his roommate and you tried to shield your face as you scurried behind him. Namjoon saw you though, there were hundreds of scenarios running through his head.
Yoongi turned on his room light and went to his drawers. He had a very tidy room. “Here.” He handed you a t-shirt and some sweat pants. “They'll be a little big but they're still comfortable; this room gets cold at night anyway.”
“Oh- I can sleep on the couch, really...I don't mind...” You swallowed thickly, standing nervously.
He ignored your suggestion and rubbed the back of his neck. “My bathroom is right there.” He pointed before leaving the room and closing the door behind him.
He walked to the kitchen, grabbed a beer and went to the couch.
“What happened?” Namjoon walked over, it was obvious he was upset.
“Huh...” He sighed. “Her brother is an asshole.” Yoongi took a swig of his drink.
“Can you elaborate?” Namjoon plopped down in the recliner.
“I drove her home from her job. When we got to her place her brother was home and he threw a party or whatever the fuck that tacky mess was. She went inside to get me an aspirin but she was taking forever, so I went to check on her...some guy was on her, she was crying and- I knocked him out. Her brother didn't even give a fuck either, the bastard said she had it coming. I wanted to kill him Joon...I really did.” He was calming down but the mere thought was still disturbing—infuriating.
“Wow, that's a lot to take in...is she okay?” Namjoon looked at Yoongi’s closed door.
“I think so, I dragged her out of her room and told her she was staying here tonight, I guess I probably should've asked but it wouldn't have been safe to leave her there.” He shook his head, tilting up his bottle to take another gulp.
You cracked open his room door and peeked out. He kind of smiled when he saw you with his clothes on. The pants were far too big for you, his long sweats and shirt engulfed your small frame.
“Hi Namjoon," You greeted him, "Um, Yoongi, I really don't mind taking the sofa...”
“Take the bed Y/N, we're not arguing on this.” He walked past you, cracking the door behind him “I'm gonna shower real quick.” You sat on his bed as he got some clothes and went to the shower.
When he opened the bathroom his hair was wet, his face was flushed and supple—he looked so soft and young.
“Are you okay? I'm sorry about what happened...” He said standing at the door, drying his hair.
“I don't know what to do anymore, Yoongi...I can't tell my mom, it'll only make her upset, she's been through too much. But he's always like that to me, it really hurts, you know? B- But none of his friends have ever-...and he didn’t try to stop him...” You held back your tears. His heart was breaking, he was angry at himself and that guy, your situation was so sad and he really couldn't do anything about it.
“I'm sorry.” He sat beside you, he didn't know what to say.
“It's not your fault...” You looked at him, twiddling your fingers like you always did when you were anxious. He grabbed your hand gently, squeezing it lightly.
“It’s not yours either. I just want you to know, you're safe here. If you need a place to stay you can always come here. I promise you, if it means you’ll sleep safely then I’m willing to give up my bed." You pressed your lips together, nodding slowly. Others think I can give everything, I think I can give everything but I can't. I've had a day that’s hard enough to let out at least a small sigh. Two gazes were looking at each other, but both gazes were entirely alone. Without much thought, you hesitantly leaned in to place a kiss on his lips. He responded naturally, opening wider to slip in some tongue. His lips—they were so cold, so why did it seem so warm? How could this feel just as right and perfect as the first time we've kissed. You were just melting into him, like ice. Frozen and silent. He held your hand tighter, sighing into you—he didn't want this moment to end. This was beautiful and his heart was so full, it was going to burst. Slightly he pulled away, out of breath. “Y/N...” He hugged you, but he couldn't feel you breathing. You were holding your breath, your chest tight with emotion and pain.
He spoke softly. “It’s okay to run out of breath sometimes, no one will blame you...” You wrapped your arms around his neck, his arms wrapped around your torso. You couldn’t help it, tears were falling from your eyes as you took a deep breath and sighed heavily.
Now don’t think of anything else Let out a deep sigh Just let it out like that.
Though I can’t understand your breath
It’s alright, I’ll hold you
