im assuming that the full character roster is being shown on this wall here and part of me is really excited to see some of these characters and another part of me is like who tf invited the deadly six
#idk if its all of them actually i only see zavok and zazz bjt still#like no offense to people who like them but they are very unpopular characters so idk why theyre always in like every spinoff game lmao#though i guess its not as annoying here as it is in team sonic racing#because in tsr the character roster was inherently limited by the whole teams gimmick#and zavok being there over other much more prominent supporting characters#(who couldnt have taken his spot on eggman's team anyway because it wouldnt have made sense. but still.)#makes it feel like hes taking up a spot that could have gone to literally any other character thats more well liked#but here the character lineup isnt so limited and they have basically the whole main and supporting cast plus a few others#so i guess its fine

Things I think the fandom needs to remember sometimes
-Ponyboy is not a loner or unpopular. He admits to having a lot of friends at school, and a few of them even visit him when he gets out of the hospital, though he notes it makes him uncomfortable that his middle class friends get to see where he lives. Which brings me to my next point;
-The gang does not spend all their time together, or even most of it. Yes they’re all friends, very CLOSE friends- yes, even Steve and Ponyboy- but they have lives outside of the gang. Pony has school friends, Darry has work or old school friends he skis with, Soda and Steve are inseparable to a degree that their outside lives overlap and their identities within the gang are also interwoven, but they all very much have lives outside the gang. Two bit has his mom and little sister and a revolving door of girls. Dallas only shows up when he feels like it and he lives at bucks and jockeys in the races. Johnny couch surfs at the curtis’ and Two’s place, but he also regularly camps out in the lot and presumably crashes at Dally’s place sometimes too. Yeah, he’s Ponyboy’s best friend, but they’re not inseparable the way Steve and Soda are. It’s a different dynamic. The whole group has lives outside of the gang and I think it’s important to remember this.
-The term ‘greaser’ is a derogatory term and originated in the 1800s as a slur against Mexican immigrants. It coloquial meaning changed when readopted by the greaser subculture in the 1950s and 60s (according to wikipedia), to primarily refer to lower working class individuals of mexican or italian ancestry, and becoming more ethnically ambiguous, but it still wasn’t widely used outside the subculture itself. Ponyboy is white, but he probably has some Italian ancestry which is characteristic of the greaser subculture, and he identifies with the word- but it’s still a more loaded term than the fandom sometimes pretends, and it still has racial undertones, regardless of how it’s portrayed in the novel and how it moved away from it's historically primarily racialised usage when adopted by the greaser subculture. Ponyboy makes a point of saying in the book that it’s okay for himself and the gang and others of their social group to use it, but when people outside the group call him it it ‘doesn’t make him feel so hot’. I think this helps illustrate that yeah, it’s an offensive term. ‘Greaser’ carries weight and I think it’s important for the fandom to recognise that.
-Darry is trying, but he isn’t a good guardian, and if he was then his character would not be redeemable after The Slap. The reason Darry Curtis as a character is so sympathetic is because he is twenty years old and trying his best, and his best is never good enough. If Darry was a well equipped guardian who was able to parent Pony AND Soda AND the gang (to an extent) the way his parents did, then him slapping Ponyboy would be unforgivable. It would be the action of a brute instead of the action of an overwhelmed older brother forgetting his new role as guardian. The reason Darry is forgivable and so beloved is because he is not perfect, or even good, at his role but he keeps trying and choosing to be present for his brothers over and over. (Remember, he had to fight very hard for custody, probably harder than Ponyboy realizes.)
-The portrayal of every female character is biased by Ponyboy’s narration- and Ponyboy has a lot of internalized misogyny and classism. It makes sense that he holds these ideas, considering the time period and the male dominated environment he grew up in where (presumably) the only woman he ever had any sort of close relationship with was his mother, but it doesn’t make it any less true. However, the women themselves are few and far between but incredibly important characters. I’ve spoken about it before but I think Sandy’s character and her unplanned teenage pregnancy sheds a small amount of light on how poverty affects women as opposed to men, something the book largely lacks due to the only main(ish) female character being upper class; whereas Sylvia serves as a foil to Dally, and is essentially written to be the offscreen ‘female version’ of him, basically a representation of the ‘worst’ sort of greaser girl while Dally is the ‘worst’ kind of greaser. The only reason these women receive so much hate is because of misogyny- don’t pretend it’s just about the cheating, because it’s not- and if you want to hear further takes on them you can read my thoughts on the misogyny in the fandom here, and my thoughts on Sandy here. Even Cherry, whom Ponyboy views positively, is viewed that way because of Ponyboy's biased ideas of what makes a girl 'good' and worthy of respect.
-Ponyboy has a fairly negative view of alcohol and alcoholism, but has a very addictive personality. Ponyboy has tried alcohol but didn’t like the way it made him feel. However, his view of Two-bit, while positive, seems to find him less brave than the rest of the gang as he drinks before the rumble, and Ponyboy ‘would hate to see the day he had to get his nerve from a can’. Soda’s reluctance to drink or smoke also adds to Ponyboy’s worship of him, despite the fact that Ponyboy is addicted to nicotine and caffeine respectively and it has the potential to be his undoing more than anything else in the east side.
-The entire story is built on grief. Johnny and Dally are doomed from the start, and Ponyboy mentions his parents' deaths from the first few pages. But loss of a loved one is not the sole type of grief the novel covers. Darry mourns the life he could have had, Soda mourns his imagined future with Sandy, and by the end of the novel Ponyboy is mourning his childhood and loss of innocence. I could go on, but I think the effect of grief is sometimes missing from analysis or canon compliant fanworks, when it is quite literally the driving force behind the story.

Fandom Problem #6797:
I honestly think that the anti mentality seeps into every aspect of their consumption of media to a harmful and antisocial degree. (Long post incoming, sorry.)
I made one of those Uquizzes where the quiz-takers roast and comment on the various characters that I have fictional crushes on, and two responses absolutely slapped me in the face.
Character A is from a video game series with a small cast of characters and about half of them are the main character's family, and most of this family is male. Parts of the fandom ship Character A with his brother and/or nephew. I'm not one of them, but I see that the reason they do that is because they want to have some m/m ships and there are very few prominent male characters in the series, the most recent entry focusing heavily on his relationship with his brother. So, there's a pretty big sect of the fandom where the family is boning each other.
The quiz-taker responded with "[Series] fans activate my fight or flight because I haven't found a single one that doesn't think incest is sexy (no offense if you are normal) so I'm gonna bully you a lil"
Character B is from a series with a lot of teenage characters who grow up over the course of the story. Most of the characters start out at 13, but Character B and her group are introduced around the age of 17, and everyone is well into adulthood by the end of the series. The sequel has her even having a teenage child. She's an adult.
The quiz-taker responded with "I think [Character B] is a minor (???) so I won't comment. But [series] is a no from me."
These two responses completely took me aback because of how... poisoned the mindset is. The first response just accused me of being into incest, pretty much. "I haven't found a single one that doesn't think incest is sexy" is downright accusing me of liking it. The "no offense" doesn't negate the first part of what they said, and the bullying is just odd. The second response is just bizarre because it's a little bit accusatory of thinking I'd be into a kid character. It's not nearly as harsh, but still, it stood out to me.
I just think that this is heavily an anti mindset of seeing problematic behavior everywhere. You can't just judge a character based off of their appearance. You MUST accuse the person making the quiz of being into incest and minors because, well, that's what you've encountered! And therefore, they're bad people.
It's all judge, jury, and executioner. No fun allowed. Only problematic behavior.
For fuck's sake, man. I want you to playfully tease me about the fact that Character A is a dirty old slob and Character B is an unpopular character in the fandom, not accuse me of being a terrible person. I just want to have fun.

Sorry I really didn’t mean I’m attacking you or your ship. I also don’t think it’s a red flag, most gay men I saw don’t really like shuggy either. I mean, probably the entire world prefers any other shanks ships? On almost every site, con or store there’s always tons of mishanks and Bennshanks and never shuggy. I get it’s also about dynamic and connection those two pairs have, like with the parallels to other ships the base for them is extremely strong. But the minimal shuggy does speak volumes. I genuinely wonder about this. Shuggy is unpopular and again while I do agree there’s strong connection between “rival ships” I don’t think that’s the only reason… and like…. Buggy is ugly, isn’t he? He doesn’t have cool style, doesn’t look cool, makes ugly faces all the time, also is a coward. I like him as comedy character and shanks brother though!
I understand where you're coming from when you say Shuggy is unpopular amongst some people (actually, before anyone says anything. It IS an extremely popular ship in Japan but I have seen A LOT of hatred towards it in this side of the fandom, so that's what I'm talking about when I say it's unpopular). I have talked about this before. And I have said a lot of times that the reason why is often because people only focus on looks and Buggy is not conventionally attractive for the fangirly twinkified sexualized gaze numerous sides of the fandom and the general audience seek. Like, I am not forcing people to ship them, but I have had people admitting the only reason they don't is because of the looks, and I personally believe that is a very (despite valid, of course) dull way of seeing ships. And respectfully, I don't care that other gay dudes or all the people in the world agree with you. It's not a red flag to not like Shuggy, what it is a red flag, though, is to come into people's inboxes to do what you're doing!
I know you don't mean to attack me or anybody who ships them but your tone does wonders showing otherwise. Your perception of shipping is just based on looks and the fact that you came here, to a blog that explicitly ships these characters and is fond of Buggy, talking shit about one of the characters' looks... Is just straight-up mean and not following the social etiquette this site should follow, which is "let people do whatever the fuck they want".
So with all due respect, what makes you think I won't find your questions offensive in any way? Because you keep talking bad about a character I like in my inbox for literally no reason. Do you expect me to admit that the ship is unpopular because Buggy is ugly and boring? Well, I do admit people view him as ugly and only a comedy relief, but I don't. Expecting others to find beautiful and interesting the same things you do is having a very close-minded vision that One Piece's plot itself is against.
By the way, you're showing that you clearly don't like Buggy in the slightest because you're only talking about the traits that you find negative about him. But of course, you like him as comedy relief. Of course, you like him as a character in Shanks' story and not as a character himself. Despite Buggy having lots of depth. Your perception of these characters seems, in my opinion, extremely empty and, as I said, only based on looks. And you're free of shipping whatever you want however you want! But please, please, don't do this anymore. This is just petty high school mean girl behavior. Even Regina George would word this in a more polite way.
So, as a little advice for you, let people ship whatever they want without questioning their favorite characters! I am sure you will live a more peaceful life!
#this is my polite way of saying get the fuck out of my sweet sweet peaceful inbox !#i think i made pretty clear in the last ask that i did not agree with your views and that your tone was pretty much attacking me and others#and also???? NOT COOL??????? BUGGY????? ARE WE TALKING ABOUT THE SAME CHARACTER#ONLY COMEDY RELIEF?????????? sweetie you did NOT read chapter 1082 or. well. understand buggy's character at all#and to answer what you said in the last ask: no i do not think shanks should be with someone prettier bc shanks wants to be with buggy#and also who said shanks is the pretty one in that dynamic damnnn he is not the one who pulled cross guild let me tell you#okay i am being meannn i love shanks you all know i do but uhhh#buggy's character design and story are like. extremely way more colorful and interesting and it's obvious oda loves him so damn much#and nothing against you seeing them as brothers btw that's a reasonable view of the dynamic but#the wording makes it seem like you just care about shanks#and sending these asks to someone who obviously cares about both but is extremely fond of buggy is so ????#why#like why would you do it#don't you have better things to do 😭#not even gonna tag this as shuggy bc this is triggering my rsd and god i am sorry for the people reading this#i love you shuggy shippers mwah mwah#ask-bean!

Fandomry tips on hcs.
I've met another user that was afraid to share their cool Maria story ideas out of fear that they'll get shunned as "hating masculine lesbians", so, just a few things:
1) No matter how popular a headcanon is, it doesn't become canon. Fandoms do not abide by majority rule in which you could never have an unpopular idea.
2) With LGBT+ headcanons, the less you justify them - the better. The rude minority might think that Maria "has" to be a lesbian because her hunter outfit resembles male Knight garb and she cares about a female friend, and everyone who disagrees "lack media literacy" and "has bias". What is it trying to say? That bi or straight women could not look masculine? That the only reason a woman would ever dress masculine is to be the 'man' for her femme? Or that women could not care about other women deeply unless they're attracted to them? Even "historical accuracy" excuse is obsolete, because Bloodborne clearly doesn't abide by real world's history Victorian antics. Female vicars/doctors/hunters and people of color being equal to white people is a dead give-away to that.
It is even more confusing with Malenia, who doesn't even look masculine. Not feminine, either. She looks like 'just a person'. So what makes her "canonically a lesbian"? The fact that she is a strong fearsome warrior? Why? Because bi or straight women would not fight but instead latch onto some guy to protect them...?
You see what I mean. Justifications for why an interpretation HAS to be one thing and not the other only make things worse and push people into very narrow, at times outright offensive stereotypes. 'She is this because I think so' is a good enough reason - and that's where you can see that someone else's thoughts will be JUST as valid!
3) Headcanons and fandomry are not activism. No minority will be effected just because in some fandom people ship some character in some ship. EVER. These things are for FUN, lesbians aren't fairies within which one dies every time you say "I don't headcanon X character as a lesbian". What do you think will happen if many, or even majority of people like bi (or even straight) headcanon instead of lesbian? A life essence of a whole demographics will be dried out?
4) "It is not that hard" is not an argument. It is never anyone's business why someone would deny a very inviting opportunity for a headcanon. Freedom and autonomy is the VERY base of having fun in the fandom. In fact, very often, it is this same toxic attitude what makes average users NOT want to celebrate a strong female character as a lesbian. Because they feel like they had no choice! And many people possess contradictory spirit, that might make them choose something as affirmation that they won't be mocked into thinking a certain way.
_______________
Honestly, it is NOT okay that here and there people have to feel afraid to do something as innocent as to share their ideas, and might just end up leaving an interesting character aside because loud and rude people scared them away. Do not let a character you like get "claimed" by some group just because they were the meanest, do not hide your awesome ideas but instead post them and TAG them. Fandoms are free spaces, not a middle school where the popular girls set the trends and decide who gets to be bullied.
And if some people can no longer enjoy a fandom or a character because other people got a different headcanon? Well, then they were not built to be in fandom spaces to begin with.
#fandomry rambles#bloodborne#lady maria of the astral clocktower#elden ring#malenia blade of miquella#i mean what i saw yesterday was not as bad as a pointer from a friend regarding 'shipped with a man'#but it still was bothersome#naturally all this applies to MLM enjoyers that hiss at every woman in 10 yards distance from-#-a male character they headcanon as gay#i just do not have consistent examples of that#i know like one person was mad at people not seeing how g3hrman was canonically gay#and even that was half-serious and reaction at haters calling him cishet 'when he loves laurence' xd#really not threatening aura

do u think he'd ever befriend a human or he thinks too little of them?
Well, he and I are bffs, so..
Jk
Honestly? I could see him getting along with a human a TINY bit, but… I don’t think it would go too far. Humans are vastly different from him. In too many ways for his liking. Less life experience, have lived a completely different way of life, and also have a very low life expectancy when compared to his own. Less intelligent, and too naive. Too simple. I feel that Loki is the type who wants to be challenged. He wants a puzzle to solve. And honestly, maybe a really intelligent human well versed in certain manners that he doesn’t know much of, could be that for him. But even then, I don’t see it being a meaningful friendship. Not like one he’d have with a peer of his.
I think that the lifespan aspect would hurt him badly if he did become really close to a human. Knowing that he has them for so little time. So he would never allow himself to get close to a human. But, I also don’t think that he is at all interested in the first place? Like maybe he finds it fun to toy with them or even flirt with them to a certain extent, but I do not really see him pursuing meaningful/serious relationships with humans.
This may be an unpopular opinion/headcanon, but I don’t see Loki becoming TOO friendly with humans. He likes toying with them and using them as pawns, and I don’t think he really cares about what any of them have to say. Maybe he might find a very special and unique human interesting, but no more than that. He had no love for Midgard even before the Avengers.
He finds humor in their insignificance, not even caring to take them seriously. When Jane slaps him, he didn’t take it too seriously. Not that he was necessarily in a position where he could fight back, but.. he actually took no offense at all.
I mean, he even said that he likes her. He has a TINY bit of tolerance for humans for whatever reasons, but I do not think he could ever see them on his own level. He’d never care to befriend one. Even after all of that, he warns Thor. “This day, the next, a hundred years, it’s nothing. It’s a heartbeat. You’ll never be ready.”
He’s realistic about humans and their inferiority. I don’t think he could detach that from them/separate them from their insignificance, even when he’s being civil with one.
In all reality, humans are supposed to be beneath him. They’re supposed to be worshipping him. But, so much time went by (and so many other religions spread) that it became something that people take as myths, or tales. The average person is not anyone who would be worshipping him. He expects that kind of submission from them. Thor would have expected it too had he not been put in their place and if he didn’t need character development lol. Human/god relationships are taboo on Asgard for a reason. They’re supposed to be beneath the gods!
“You people are so petty, and tiny.” Even Thor finds humor in the rest of the Avengers’ arguing, and I think obviously Loki would too.
“How desperate are you, that you call on such lost creatures to defend you?” Loki calling the Avengers “lost creatures” is so funny I’m sorry. He sees humans as creatures, not peers.
Okay I kind of started rambling but moral of the story, I PERSONALLY don’t think he would seek meaningful relationships with humans. I could see him finding one intriguing, but more in a creature to observe/a puzzle to solve type of way rather than a “let me have a meaningful conversation with this human (with no ulterior motives) as if they’re a peer of mine” type of way.
I don’t see him caring to connect with a human. Even If he’s not against them in any way. Avengers 2012 could’ve never happened, and I still wouldn’t have seen him wanting to get along with humans.
Thank you for the question! How does everyone else feel about it? I don’t really see him becoming close with humans (besides me, obviously..)

🔥 Venturebros?
I'm not sure what constitutes a "hot take" in this fandom but,
I like the Order of the Triad a lot and I'd be in for a spin-off for them on principle, but I'm not super into the idea of a comic spin-off, when the biggest reason I like these characters is their voice performances.
I totally and mostly respect Doc and Jackson's willingness to do whatever they feel like and keep stuff they think works even if the fans would prefer something else (see: Billy & Pete White, who used to be fairly unpopular, but they stuck around and carved up their space very nicely), by no means am I a "listen to the fans!" advocate, God no. But, I reeallly think they should have listened to the Season 4 feedback more and just dropped Sgt Hatred. Look, the voice is super funny, I get it, you had way more fun writing him for the bodyguard than you ever did with Brock, I get it, but no, nope, still do not think it was remotely worth it, and I'm definitely not alone here. Single biggest reason I can't watch the show with anyone else. Hatred drags the entire thing down.
I love the Venture Bros like no other cartoon show but I totally get people who just refuse to give the show a chance on the basis of how long and complicated it is or because of particular jokes that turned them off or character concepts that strike them as offensive. The show is indeed A Lot, and sometimes it is straight up Bad, and even the creators admit as much.
I have no love for Sean Connery or Sean Connery parodies so frankly Colonel Gentleman does nothing for me, I actually hate him.
Baron Underbheit sucks, but I don't think he sucks as bad as the creators say, I think it's mostly his two focus episodes that dont hold up. I think they found a pretty nice little groove for him as the excitable horrible idiot friend in the later seasons and I think they could have gotten more out of him, as the Beavis to the other villains' Butthead. He could have fit pretty well in the Peril Partnership.
Giving Triana Orpheus a bigger role would have definitely done a lot for the show's popularity online, maybe even enough to save it from obscurity or even cancellation (the internet economy of cartoon goth girlfriends is brutally potent), but I'm glad they didn't. Triana is boring and she's pretty much supposed to be boring and I'm glad Doc and Jackson kept shooting down the fan demand bugging them at cons to make it The Triana & Kim Show.

Glee Ranting just for the sake of ranting and to put this out there. I guess this counts for any fandom but for glee in particular.
It's Alright if people ship different ships then you, it's Alright if it's not canon, it's alright if people like not as popular characters, or characters that we'ren't shown much, or we're bully's in that show.
Because it's a show, that's the fun thing about your favorite media people enjoy it in different ways.
I don't ship Klaine, I know a lot of people do I used to but not anymore. I don't think I'll be convinced to ever like that ship again, but do I harass people who love Klaine, No, no I don't, because that just wouldn't be an okay thing to do.
Because why would I wanna take their enjoyment of this thing that is fictional that they love that makes them happy.
I ship Seblaine, st.berry, Jesse x Blaine (a rare pair) And Dani x Santana. Just to name a few, do I like the slushie incident? Of course not. Do I like Jesse egging Rachel? No. Did Santana have cute moments with Brittany? Yes, but so did every couple in glee.
I like Blaine and Sam in every season. No matter Blaines and sam's flaws, I thought they were well written. I thought kostyk was well written as the show progressed. His actor was portrayed him very well, you don't have to like his character, but neither should you bully or hate on the actor because it's just acting.
I liked Sebastian, he was funny and I liked how he holded himself. Do I condone the things he did, of course not, But I can still like him as a fictional character. Just like how the fandom loves Santana and Sue plus Quinn and puck, and they're not especially nice either. You can like characters who aren't the good guys, because they are fictional, or because you like their actors or how well they were portrayed in the show.
I even headcanon friendships and such that didn't interact at all. Because I can, those are fun. ^^
Just because you don't understand why someone could like a pairing, a character or something in that media. Doesn't mean you have to be mean to them, bully them, or even say something that you know comes off as a bit offensive. Just let people enjoy the parts they like of the fandom no matter how popular or unpopular it is.
Even though I usually don't prefer canon ships, I try and am mindful of the characters canon Sexuality and stick to it, especially If the characters are Homosexual, Bisexual or something that isn't straight. Because it feels right to me, since for the longest time got no representation in media. But if someone else doesn't I don't Bully them, I might tell them my point of view, but I wouldn't attack them. And I personally like headcanon Sam Evans as bisexual, and in a way though I myself see Blaine as gay, can see why some people headcanon him as bisexual. But even if I can't understand why people ship, like a character or something of the show I don't. I don't just tell them they have to see everything the way I do or harass, or tell them it's not canon and you can only see things the canon way.
Because at the end of the day we all enjoy the same fandom, sure some opinions are more popular then others, But it's valid that we all can enjoy the same fandom in a different way, and it doesn't have to be the popular way, though it's great if you do like something popular or Canon but it's not always fully nessary to enjoy something like this.
So yeah, Happy fandoming!^^

1, 7, 9 for Saw ask game
favorite male character: adam or rigg. adam i think for the same reasons everyone likes him. he’s a loser and i want to cut him up into little pieces and examine him under a microscope 💛. rigg’s kind of the saving grace of saw iv for me. he’s super underrated by the fandom and i honestly think I’d be better off explaining in a longer post why i like him so much. the shortest possible version is that i think he’s one of the most compelling saw protagonists because his story kind of has the same themes of justice and what circumstances can push people into violence that hoffman’s did in saw v, but i generally find him a much more likable and grounded character than hoffman. of course likability isn’t always a necessity in this franchise but i do think in this case it made him a more compelling character. i don’t really like saw iv and i wish he’d gotten more time for his story to play out, but as the movies are I just find him a very charismatic and intriguing character. most underrated character of all time.
do i have any ships: I do! not really anything surprising or rare, just chainshipping and shotgunshipping. I think those two and coffinshipping are the most popular in this fandom, but I don’t really like coffinshipping. truly no offense to people who do because I totally get the appeal, it’s just not for me.
favorite movie: saw x! I know this isn’t a super unpopular opinion since this one did pretty well critically, but I have seen people criticizing it a lot on here? and I agree it’s not fundamentally that different from the rest of them, individual saw movies exist more as a play on a formula than a completely new experience each time. but in my opinion, this is the best one. john & amanda’s relationship is my favorite part of these movies so of course I liked seeing their relationship in a slightly less active state of decay than it is in iii. visually this is my favorite saw film except for maybe ii. also medical horror is such a good direction for this series to take and i love seeing a full movie dedicated to it. and I appreciate everything about cecelia kudos to the writers for bringing john back just to reveal that he had a sexy evil archnemesis. and kudos for making her just as much of a bastard as he is. my only issue with this one is the yellow mexico filter, which i can’t and won’t defend. and while that in itself is completely worthy of criticism this one’s definitely my favorite.

Hello wifey, I got these for the unpopular opinion ask: 💖💕🏳️🌈
Hi baby! 🥰💙💚 I shall happily answer these asks for you!
Link to original ask game below if y’all wanna play along and if you reblog I’ll be snooping 👀
💖- what is your biggest unpopular opinion about the series?
So I’m just gonna say this about all of Star Wars in general specifically the newer stuff that’s been coming out lately as well as the future projects they’ve announced to us (minus the Tales of the Empire I’m genuinely excited for that because BARRISS 💙) but in my OPINION they’re focusing on all the wrong characters and spending too much time and money into mediocre storylines when there’s so much more they can be doing. Like the Ahsoka wasn’t really about Ahsoka herself and where they decided to take that show was very strange and weak. Andor head was boring as hell to me and there wasn’t much pay off in there for any of the characters. Bad Batch is only good when the episode isn’t about the Bad Batch themselves but about another character people actually like (I.e Ventress, Rex, etc.). Mando went off the rails in its third season because in my opinion Mando and Grogu’s story ended beautifully with that badass Luke Skywalker finale.
Now before everyone get all butthurt and all up in their feelings, remember that 1.) this is my own unpopular opinion I’m allowed to have and 2.) yes I’m aware I can pick and choose what to watch and not to watch and that if I don’t like a show I won’t watch it. What I’m saying is that the stories and characters I want to see more of don’t get produced which is why I’m so pumped for Tales of the Empire because we finally get a Barriss Offee story which has been left on read for the last decade and why I enjoyed Tales of the Jedi so much because we got more Dooku content and more good Ahsoka content.
💕- What is an unpopular ship that you like?
Kenduli/Obinara (Luminara Unduli x Obi-Wan Kenobi) all day everyday and I will stan them until the day I die (sorry Satine fans no offense). Anyone who has read The Approaching Storm and paid attention to their interactions in Clone Wars could see these two have chemistry and are an absolute delight together. To me their relationship would have all the class of a pairing like Morticia and Gomez Addams from the Addams family with the sexiness of a James Bond and a Bond girl. Honestly what’s not to like? And no this is not an open invitation to bash them because this is MY unpopular opinion remember 😉 Read any of my fanfic and you’ll warm up to them I assure you!
🏳️🌈- which character who is commonly headcanoned as queer doesn’t seem queer to you?
Obi-Wan Kenobi. And yea I’m aware that the recent Padawan book implied he may be bisexual but I’m sorry Obi-Wan has always come off to me as a total ladies man in both the shows/movies and in books. Like the women go nuts for him (I.e. Ventress, Satine, etc) and there are always women speaking to him when he’s just walking about in the Temple (I.e Luminara, Aayla) like who wouldn’t be into the mister “Hello There” man and I’m saying this as a GAY woman who feels she has a pretty good gaydar and I’m not getting anything from Obi-Wan sorry not sorry. He may be bisexual but at the end of the day, I feel he prefers the ladies.

Paula for the ask game, if you'd like!
First impression:
wow they sure made the girl character a pink little damsel (despite her badass powers) and called it a day huh. ok
Impression now:
wow i can take the girl character and develop whatever i want about her and -- oh shit - oops - haha whoops - now she's my favorite
Favorite moment: Every time she uses PK Freeze. But really, I'm very sentimental about the brief period between Twoson and Threed where it's just Ness and Paula traveling together. Paula makes a friend she can be herself with. Ness makes a friend after braving the big scary world all by himself. They're probably a little awkward and uncertain of each other at first, but they quickly come to admire each others' strengths!! Combat feels so fresh and exciting once you finally have a party member! They both have to learn to work together with a fellow PSI user, and it's really sweet.
Idea for a story: I don't really have more Paula stories on the brain rn. Whatever I do next with Intermission AU though, I wanna develop her friendship with Claus some more… They're both book-smart and snarky, he's one of very few people who can keep up with her wit. She only knows the half of what he's been through, but she looks out for him on the downlow. Especially in light of his bad experiences with Porky (Paula helped Ness through his fallout with Porky too, she's kind of in a unique position to provide some levelheaded advice & support). And they've both got unresolved anger with their family members. Their playfully pretentious nerd banter might easily give way to some heartfelt & heavy discussions. I feel like one of these days I could cook up somethin interesting. Intermission Senior Year arc where Paula finally stands up to her megalomaniac mom, while Claus cheers from the sidewalk like "yeah paula, you tell her!! yolo, dude! i got your back!"
Unpopular opinion: A lot of fan content I see & read will either sideline her or just, not flesh her out very much beyond Yeah She Sure Is The Girl. :( Itoi left the EarthBound party members relatively underdeveloped on purpose, hoping players would fill in the blanks to their hearts' content. Paula can be anything or anyone, and can have really interesting dynamics with her other party members! I just think her potential is often underutilized.
Favorite relationship: She's Ness' best friend!! A smart pretty popular girl befriends a little fat boy with average grades n' no connections beyond his hometown! And against all expectations, it turns out they get along brilliantly! He helps her loosen up & let go of her perfectionism, she helps him overcome his insecurities & become a more confident person! Ness really really needed someone to trust as his friendship with Porky crumbled, and Paula was right there the whole time. I think they have lots of silly goofy fun together - they'll dance and do karaoke and take joke photos at national monuments. I have a funny little headcanon that they tried dating in high school, quickly realized they like just being friends much better, and went on as if nothing happened. And another, that they teach each other their PSI techniques. Healing doesn't come naturally to Paula, and offense doesn't come naturally to Ness, but they're patient and perseverant and they figure it out over time.
Favorite headcanon: My girl Paula is academia pilled to comedic degrees. She's obsessed with Virginia Woolf. She feels a spiritual kinship with The Queen's Gambit. She daydreams about being a college professor. When she watches movies she calls them "films," and you'd better believe she's taking notes.

Unpopular opinion: The Rising of The Shield Hero was never good.
I see a lot of people claim that season 1 was peak and had incredible writing only to fall during seasons 2 and 3 but that's just being generous.
Season 1 is as bad as the other two in terms of writing, plot and characters.
Don't get me wrong, I understand why people thought TROTSH was a good anime and dare I say a good isekai, because it had a unique premise and an interesting start.
The main character may be your typical 20 year old college student, average af but that didn't matter in the beginning because of the circumstances he found himself in.
Naofumi didn't have a stereotypical sword or any other weapon to fight with, he had a shield and that's it. From the very beginning he was stuck with a defense item that can barely deal any damage and wasn't allowed to hold an actual offence weapon.
He got framed for a crime he didn't commit and thus was shunned and hated by everyone around him, he was utterly alone and couldn't trust anyone.
Heck, even when he bought Raphtalia I let it pass because at that time it felt like the Shield Hero was subverting the slavery trope: The MC doesn't buy a slave just because he can or to "save" them and said slave is not some hot girl with huge melons in a tight dress. Naofumi buys Raphtalia because he wants someone to fight for him, as a shield holder he can only protect but that isn't enough to survive in this world, especially if you are alone,so not only does he need someone on the offense he needs someone who will not betray him but considering his circumstances this is impossible.
This is why buying a slave in this scenario is understandable, still extremely messed up but it's either that or death.
Basically the whole anime felt revolutionary at that time because it wasn't your stereotypical power fantasy isekai. Too bad it became one only a few episodes later.
Naofumi's party consists of two female slaves that he bought and another 10 year old girl. His other allies are the queen herself and a magical bird that is basically a loli. Even if Naofumi isn't trying to build a harem the situation makes it look like he has one a thing that becomes not so subtle in later seasons.
Despite being unable to attack, having no knowledge of rpg games and having children in his party Naofumi is somehow stronger than the other heroes who can attack, have rpg knowledge and have capable fighters in their parties.
Even if the three stooges think of the world as a game they still shouldn't be this incompetent.
Not only is Naofumi the strongest person in this world he is also the smartest. There isn't a moment where someone is more capable than him,no one manages to outsmart him and when things get tough the biggest Deus ex Machina ( aka the rage shield) saves the day.
Everyone who is against him is pure evil and an incompetent idiot and all of his allies are clever and strong individuals ready at his beck and call.
Long story short TROTSH is not some revolutionary isekai that subverts expectations. It's just a other self fulfilling fantasy like the rest of its burthen with wasted potential.

Judging Doctor Who: Fifteenth Doctor
(This is all in good fun, I don’t take fandom seriously)
(Also I enjoyed the character and much of the writing, but a big issue I did have was that 8 episodes is not enough to have silly randomness and a season arc and get to know and care about the companion)
Good Episodes I like
Space Babies - Yes I know it's unpopular, but I don't see what the fuss was about. It's silly and ridiculous and adorable with some very surface-level commentary but to be fair done in a weird and different way. This is not meant to be a serious drama show.
Boom - There's like one scene not in the same setting in the whole episode and I think that's funny. Again, there's been a lot of commentary done on war and capitalism and this isn't that deep, but it is different. They are literally fighting themselves. Also the ambulances and human remains are genuinely a bit creepy.
Dot and Bubble - It's bright and poppy and horrifying! Racism isn't just for historical episodes and old people, it's also your cool and relatable friend group. Cute, sympathetic characters can be awful without even setting themselves up purposely as a villain. I love that a computer turned on people and we're supposed to be on the side of the computer, and that it decided to do this via giant genetically engineered slugs. The acting, the agony of the Doctor only wanting to save people and being denied because they don't like that he's Black. That he's the smartest person in the room, as always, but no longer being treated like it. It was just. Very good.
Rogue - It was gay! And the bird people were so pretty! And bird people literally cosplaying humans because it's a game to them was so very silly and on brand for this show! I don't think Rogue is even that much like Jack beyond being kind of flamboyant. And I am curious to see how and when they bring him back.
Bad Episodes I Like
The Devil's Chord - I do sort of expect a modern show to at least explore a little bit of the farther reaching consequences of an entire history without music. The plot and wrap up felt weak. But did I have fun? Oh definitely! Maestro was so much fun, and the visualization of music was delightful, and yes. I liked this.
Bad Episodes I Don't Like
73 Yards - Alright, I know this one is popular. It was incredibly creepy and the atmosphere was excellently done. It had the potential to be Blink-level amazing. But I really think it lost all that impact by not giving us any kind of wrap up at all. No weird alien or legend of a creature with certain abilities or something about Ruby that would attract this. Just. It happened, then it didn't. Plus they make a (valid) point about how you shouldn't do Welsh fairy stories in a story that by not subverting or explaining another way is kind of implied to be one anyway.
The Legend of Ruby Sunday/The Empire of Death - There were actually parts of this story I enjoyed. The bits in the dying universe, the Doctor's grief over it, and solving it by lassoing a giant dog were fun. But it was a poorly done wrap up to an arc and since a single two-parter was a full quarter of the season, I'd say it was too short even to attempt any kind of arc anyway. It left a lot of things unanswered, and while I hope some of that will be addressed later it was really too much to leave open ended. Also a weird villain to bring back, of all your options.
Episodes That Were Kind of Offensive
The Church on Ruby Road - A lot of it was a good character intro. Doctor who is fun again! He's reset from being too traumatized to have silly adventures! Ruby is here, and she's having a bad time for no reason. I genuinely enjoyed the duet. However. Baby-eating goblins? Are you serious? You should definitely know better than that.
#oops this one is really late#I kinda lost interest in this but I did all the other nu who ones so I needed to finish up#doctor who

I thought now would be the proper time to talk about my (maybe slightly unpopular) opinions on The Eighth Sense. Here are my thoughts on this show, why I think it was so popular, and my overall opinion on kbl. At least, the ones I've seen so far.
So grab your tea and some biscuits, because this might be a long one.
I loved The Eighth Sense. Let's just get that out of the way real quick. I thought the actors had so much charm, I love everyone they wanted us to love and hate everyone they wanted us to hate, and the characters themselves were also great and refreshing.
Jihyun is a country mouse, but he's independent and unyielding. Jaewon doesn't keep a distance because of any kind of homophobia, but because of his own self-deprecation. The characters, for the most part (I'll get into that more in a bit) are very nice and good-hearted people. Except for two, but we don't like them, so we will be ignoring them.
I saw the reaction people had to this show, so I had to check it out, and yeah, I get the hype online. Very quickly, I realized why it was being talked about so much. Has anyone ever seen the show Skam? Either the Norwegian or French versions? Well, The Eighth Sense is shot exactly like that. To someone who's never seen anything but the Asian-based bls, seeing that European style on a kbl is kind of surprising. Even if you have seen Skam, the style is still shot more "indie" with simpler, quieter scenes, and it's not something we're used to seeing with non-European characters. At least, not in a bl.
That said, a lot of the shots are a little too... artsy, in my opinion, and I didn't like some of them. Like as Jihyun comes down the stairs at one point, the scene cuts to him on opposite sides of the staircase, or there were mirror scenes, or closeups on people's faces for no reason, and they kept yanking me out of the scenes.
But the real controversial opinion comes here, are you all ready?
I think the show could be a little... offensive sometimes.
I mention this because I didn't see anyone else say it, and maybe I'm just missing those posts, but... you guys ever notice that the chubbier characters are always snacking on something? It's such a small, but such a gross stereotype. If you're not stick-thin, it's because you're constantly eating. And then, wouldn't you know it, these only two chubbier characters end up with each other at the last minute even though they never shared so much as a scene throughout the whole show, AND despite the fact that Joonpyo clearly had a thing for Aeri. But oh, she's this pretty little social thing, so we can't have them together.
And... Hedwig. Look. If they'd teased him and had a problem with him because of how rude he is, fine. Great. But from the very beginning, before he's even said a word to anyone, he's being laughed at and mocked, not just by our sweet little country mouse and his friend, but by the entire class and professor just because of how he's dressed and how over the top he is. What, because it comes from a queer character and an ally, it's okay? It just really left a bad taste in my mouth.
And that's really it. Oh, and the fact that the villains are forgiven in the end so easily despite not deserving it for a second, but that's more a personal preference. I really enjoyed the show, the acting was amazing, and Jihyun is actually pretty inspiring for how tough he is. That said, no, I don't think it was the flawless masterpiece that everyone else seems to think it was. It was certainly shot different, but not perfect.
That's pretty much the gist of kbl, in my opinion. They're shot different--quieter scenes, more of a budget with things like mics and soundtracks--but not perfect. Could any other show, from any other country, do what Until We Meet Again did? Could any random couple manage in My School President better than Gemini and Fourth? I don't think so. And a lot of that comes down to how Studio Wasabi (I know that's not what they're called, but that's what I've always called them) and GMMTV do things, even with the smaller budget.
I also think that a lot of this "kbl is the superior" attitude comes down to BTS and k-drama hype. A lot of people are caught up in the whirlwind and excitement of the Korean everything coming out nowadays, but for someone who already had her BTS and k-drama phase long ago, I'm just not as taken in, I guess?
I don't know, personally, bigger budget doesn't equal better. And I think giving kbl this much praise for just starting to do what thai, japanese, and taiwanese bl have been doing for years now (and with plenty of flaws, too, Semantic Error and Unintentional Love Story are the only two I can think of that I enjoyed beginning to end without any really uncomfy moments) is, I'm sorry, just a little ridiculous. I think they still have ways to go before they're my go-to for bl.

for the choose violence ask game 🔥🔥🔥
8, 12, 16 lol
Chocooooo!!! Ooooh good choices. This one's gonna get zuko-centric, bahaha, but I SWEAR I enjoy his canon character, just not the way he is portrayed/exists in fanon.
8. common fandom opinion that everyone is wrong about: that Zuko's redemption arc is complete at the end of the show and he's all good now. He was literally making racist comments about Aang, the very last of his people who were wiped out BY ZUKO'S FAMILY, two episodes before the finale. He has some racist and misogynist and colonialist ways of thinking that are deeply ingrained and will take a lifetime of unlearning. He's going to fuck up many times in the future, still. Zuko is not wise like Iroh (who I love but has his own issues) and I could do without him being the one everyone goes to for advice in fanfiction. When he tries to be like Iroh in canon he winds up saying stupid things like "take a bite out of the silver sandwich" or "look inside yourself to save yourself from your other self," like come ON fandom. Zuko is great as a character but let's not make him into something he's not.
12. the unpopular character that you actually like and why more people should like them: This is hard because I didn't really know there were unpopular characters? haha. I guess maybe Mai--I know she gets a lot of hate from certain corners of fandom but I really enjoy her. She is impossible to write (for me) but I still try to work her into stories because I think she adds something unique and her friendships with the gaang members are so interesting to me. I know she gets portrayed as "the gloomy girl who sighs a lot" but there's so much more to her (as we see in episodes like The Beach but also a bit in the comics) and she's one of the very few characters who can ever make Zuko smile (the other being Aang when he tells Zuko he's smart, hahaha), which is a feat in and of itself.
16. you can't understand why so many people like this thing (characterization, trope, headcanon, etc): Zuko has often been portrayed as this sexy, suave, emotionally-intelligent bad-boy who would be great in bed. I just... don't see it in canon (that's Aang, guys--you're talking about AANG, Mister parents-called-on-the-second-day-of-school, with multiple gaggles of adoring fangirls and a silver tongue). I think Zuko is awkward, brash, often-offensive, has a hard time finding the right words, still uses anger to cover up any other emotions, and his sex-ed was probably limited to the mechanics of baby-making and didn't include anything about pleasing a partner. Maybe he improves on some of these things as he ages (probably with a lot of help from Aang and Mai, when he lets her), but this is not who he is as a character and I don't understand why so much of fandom portrays him that way.
Thanks for playing the Choose Violence Ask Game, friend! This was fun 🤣
