Tumblr media Tumblr media
PAIRING: sae itoshi x reader
SYNOPSIS: when sae left for spain you were devastated. but suddenly, half a decade later as the sae itoshi; japan's prized possession and football prodigy, stands on your doorstep, realization hits you: you are in love with him.
wordcount: guess | content & warnings: unestablished relationship, both are bad at communicating their feelings in their teens, sae nonchalant era, fluff ; oneshot
author's note: yes i didn't watch bllk season 2 yet, so what??1?1??1 my wonderful babe still needs a fic, hard to believe i never wrote a single one for him
Tumblr media
“i’m leaving for spain”
sae doesn't think he'll ever forget this moment; forget the expression that you made as soon as he quietly murmured those words.
how his bedsheets rustled as you immediately got up, the way your sudden movements left creases in his once neatly duvet, and how the blue artificial flavored water from the popsicle dripped down on his bed as you tightly gripped it in your hand.
from initially laying next to him on his childhood bed and watching the ceiling fan spin around in circular movements while sucking on popsicles, to you turning and staring at him in disbelief — it all happened in the span of a few minutes — too fast for either of you to comprehend.
as if the humid summer air wasn't already unbearable enough, the impact of those words had somehow made the atmosphere even more suffocating.
outside there were cicadas who were continuously humming melodies, and the sound the fan-blades created as they spun around made it all seem like another day during summer break.
for a moment everything was how it used to be a few minutes ago; how every summer passed by ever since he can think and remember.
the way you visited his house every day early in the morning — rang his doorbell twice in a row and how he groggily opened it every time you came over as he, barely awake, listened to what adventurous hangout you planned for today.
his mother ushering him to take rin with him to go along as you dragged them to the beach and stayed there for hours. playing, taunting and teasing, and laughing until the sky was enveloped in an orange-pink hue.
building sandcastles like in your kindergarten days, splashing each other full of water until the three of you went to the local convenience store with clothes drenched in saltwater to buy a pack of popsicles, and betting who'd receive one of the “winner popsicles”.
(in all honesty sae always found it a bit childish as he grew older, but seeing the triumphant grin on his little brother's face as he won and how he stuck his tongue out to you, made him crack a small smile.)
and how the days always ended the same: you and sae on his bed, sucking on popsicles as you watched the ceiling fan twirl around in repetitive circular motions. sometimes while talking about what you want to do tomorrow, future plans or sometimes even spending those times in complete and utter silence.
yeah, it's normal for the two of you to stay silent for a while. sae thinks as you don't respond and momentarily everything is just like how it's supposed to be. nothing’s wrong, it's just your normal summer day. an average, regular and peaceful afternoon during summer.
but to his dismay, that illusion of his quickly gets shattered. “when?” you whisper quietly, as if not daring to say it out loud. sae purses his lips, opening his mouth only to close it after a quick moment which surprises him.
was he scared? no that can't be. he wasn't scared when he told his parents and rin because he knew that they'd support him — they knew he was going to be just fine — he knew he was going to be just fine without them.
but you?
sae gulps down the heavy lump in his throat before coughing, preparing to say something — anything. “at the end of summer break, so in a week or so,” he states nonchalantly, as if it were as simple as that. (it wasn't)
although he should've anticipated your reaction — should've known that you weren't pleased at all about it, it still caught him off guard. “and you didn't bother to tell me until now?”
“i didn't think it was important,” he mutters.
“not important, you say? sae, we're best friends. do you mean to tell me that ‘it's not important’ to tell your best friend that you're leaving for god knows how long,” you retort with slight anger in your voice.
“no, that's not—” sae wanted to explain himself; he wanted to tell you that he didn't want to leave you behind, and the fact that he only told you now was because he didn't know how to bring it up — he didn't want to ruin your day and see your smile falter.
he sighs and settles for a curt “just forget it, i’ll be gone in a week, it's been planned for months now and nothing will change it anyway,” it's far from the thing he initially wanted to say, but does it matter now?
sae sees the way your eyebrows furrow in irritation, how you open your mouth to say something but eventually you just scoff and look away. “yeah, whatever,”
Tumblr media
a week has passed ever since he told you that he'd leave and ever since then you didn't reach out, and neither did he.
from continuous door-ringing everyday to a silent house; it's been long since the itoshi’s family home has been this quiet. only the sound of water splashing out of the sink and onto the porcelain dishes was audible, sometimes accompanied by the sound of his mother's humming.
“sae, did something happen between you and [name]?” his mother asks offhandedly, not noticing sae who was peacefully playing with his little brother, immediately stiffening.
for a moment sae didn't know what to say, because technically nothing happened. just a small miscommunication between friends, you'd be over it soon anyway. after all you knew about his plans now, so no need to be mad, right? “no, not really. i’m just busy with packing and stuff, and they didn't really text me either, so i guess we've both been really occupied”
“is that so? today, just a bit earlier, they came over, it looked like they contemplated ringing the doorbell but then left as quickly as they came,” his mother chuckled as she turned off the sink and sat onto the sofa to watch him and rin. “you saw them too, right rin?”
sae turns to rin, eyes wide and full of anticipation. “oh, yeah. i think [name] also came over yesterday and the day before yesterday,” rin murmurs. “i asked them why they wouldn't ring and they looked shocked to see me, but then only told me not to tell you that they were here and left.” he turned to his older brother to look at him, big cerulean doe eyes searching for answers.
sae hisses, and fishes his phone out of the pockets of his sweatpants, opening your chat and messaging you.
sae: let's meet tomorrow, 5 pm at the beach
you: ?
you: mind explaining what's going on?
sae: just come there tomorrow
sae: please?
you: fine
Tumblr media
in all honesty, you had no idea what sae had planned. his messages came out of the blue after not reaching out for an entire week.
it wasn't hard to spot sae, his red hair shone brightly in the setting evening sun. “you're early for once,” you note as you sit down beside him.
sae looks up and you'd be lying if you said that the small smile he gives you didn't make your knees wobble a bit, still you didn't come here to fawn over your best friend.
“so what’d you want to talk about?” you ask.
sae's quiet for a moment, looking confused. “i thought you wanted to talk about something. rin told me that you came over but didn't have the guts to ring, so i thought i’d do you a favor,”
was he being for real now..?
you get up, irritated. “if this was the reason you invited me i’ll just go. have fun in spain” but before you're able to fully stand up sae grabs you by your wrist. “wait,” and you look at him, questioningly.
“what, wait?”
“let's talk it out,”
the way he says it so softly and that determination that those stupid cerulean eyes of his hold, almost makes you falter completely. “if it weren't for the fact that you're my best friend, i would've left,” you mutter in (faux) annoyance.
sae doesn't respond and only smiles. “sorry, that i didn't tell you earlier about me leaving. i thought it'd ruin the mood, because you always seemed so happy about the stuff you planned.”
(and i didn't have the heart to tell you about it, out of fear that things between you and me become awkward afterwards,)
you let out a huff of relief. “that's really sweet and thoughtful of you, i did notice that there was something that you wanted to get off your chest but i didn't know how to approach it or urge you to talk about it,”
for the first time this afternoon you take a proper look at him, how his turquoise eyes are intently watching you and suddenly you feel small under sae's gaze.
“admittedly, i do think i would've been a bit sad, but still we could've just used that remaining time to make great memories,” this time you return his smile and sae exhales.
“yeah, maybe you're right,”
Tumblr media
“sae, what are you doing here?”
in front of you stood sae itoshi. japan’s football genius; its most valuable player — your best friend.
well, former best friend.
saying his name felt weird because the last time you remember saying it aloud was when you were a teenager.
clinging onto sae, and hugging him tightly before his flight departed and bidding goodbye as he exited through the gates.
after that sae barely texted or called you — he wasn't big of a texter anyway, but the only times he's ever messaged you was on your birthday, new years and his birthday as he thanked you for your wishes and congratulations.
contact “officially” broke after a few years, the little messages and short calls turned into none at all. the only times you ever saw sae was on some interviews on tv or magazines at the grocery store.
“can i come in?” he looks at you through low lidded eyes, before looking behind you. his voice got deeper and hoarse. you think to yourself.
you don't respond — unable to come up with an answer to provide him. what does one even say when your best friend comes back after five years without any announcement beforehand? sae takes your silence as an answer — yes, and walks by you into the living room.
there are a bunch of questions running through your head. “how have you been?”, “why didn't you text me?”, “was it hard to adjust to your new surroundings?” but none of these questions leave your mouth, instead you trail after sae into the living room where you spot him sitting on your couch.
“nothing’s changed,” he notes as he looks around. you sit yourself down the sofa, although a few inches away from him. “yeah, me and my surroundings might've not changed but that doesn't apply to you,” you remark.
sae remains silent but if you were to look more closely you could see that the corners of his mouth are twitching. “tell me sae, what made you think it's okay to come here after a period of no contact? without telling me how you've been, without telling me that you'd come over,” irritation is written all over your face, but you don't care, you just need answers.
“also, wouldn't one normally visit their family first, instead of ones—” best friend lies on the tip of your tongue but is that really the relationship you have with sae? “— best friend?” said person who's been plaguing your mind for the past few minutes now, finishes your sentence.
“sorry?” you're caught off guard, because not in a hundred years would you've thought that sae itoshi would ever verbally announce you as his best friend.
“you wanted to ask me if it isn't unusual if one visits their best friend first, instead of their family right?” sae asks. “yeah pretty much,”
he exhales, “i already visited rin. i told him to get his priorities straight,” usually you'd ask what he meant by that, but you have the feeling that you maybe shouldn't this time and settle to answer him with a small hum of acknowledgement.
“also shouldn't it be clear why i'm here? i wanted to see you,” sae says it as if it's the easiest thing in the world — as if it's crystal clear, and states it like it's the obvious. “i missed you,”
if someone would've told you that sae itoshi missed you five years ago, you would've laughed and brushed it off, reasoning it that sae isn't one to say sappy things.
stupid sae and the ways he makes you sway.
but here you are, experiencing it first hand and feeling how your heart races. still there were so many unanswered questions and as much as you wanted to hug him again, feel how his body molds against yours, you know that you couldn't — at least not yet.
“miss me, my ass. at some point you just didn't bother to reach out anymore,” you scoff. “do you know how hurt i was?” you whisper through gritted teeth.
“let's talk it out, okay?” you feel a sudden wave of deja vu washing over you, as if you've already had this conversation once before.
“if you weren't my best friend, i wouldn't hear you out,” you murmur under your breath.
sae inches closer to you, taking your hand in his and pats over it. this is so ridiculous. the sae you knew would’ve never done this. this is strange and a change but..a pleasant change?
just for this once you'll let someone into your heart so easily again, this is an exception — sae's the only one who'll you allow to do some bullshit but still welcome with open arms again.
“fine,” you mutter before burying your head into his nape and your arms sneak around his torso.
a feeling so familiar, so right.
“i missed you too.”

You and Gojo are happily dating until Gojo grows closer to your new friend. WC. 2k
a/n: I wrote this out of boredom so it‘s more of a drabble (ᵕ—ᴗ—) not proofread and short!!
Tumblr media
You and Gojo decide to spend a lazy Saturday afternoon together, starting with a visit to your favorite coffee shop. The place has a cozy, inviting atmosphere, with soft music playing in the background and the gentle hum of conversation creating a comforting buzz.
As you wait in line to place your order, you notice a familiar face at a nearby table. It’s Hana, the new friend you recently made at a local art class. She’s sitting alone, engrossed in a book, with a half-empty cup of coffee in front of her.
A smile spreads across your face as you wave to her. “Hana! Hey!”
Hana looks up, her eyes lighting up with recognition and delight. “Y/N! Hi!” she replies, closing her book and waving you over.
You glance at Gojo, who’s busy contemplating the menu. “Do you mind if we join my friend for a bit?” you ask him.
He looks up, smiling warmly. “Of course, lead the way.”
You approach Hana’s table, Gojo following close behind. “Hana, this is my boyfriend, satoru. Satoru, this is Hana. We met at that art class I told you about.”
Gojo extends his hand, his usual confident and charming demeanor on full display. “Nice to meet you, Hana.”
Hana shakes his hand, smiling brightly. “Nice to meet you too, satoru. Y/N has told me so much about you.”
Gojo raises an eyebrow, casting a playful glance your way. “All good things, I hope.”
You laugh, rolling your eyes. “Of course. Only the best.”
The three of you sit down together, and the conversation flows effortlessly. Hana and Gojo quickly find common ground, discussing everything from books to travel to the latest movies. You’re happy to see them getting along so well, and the afternoon passes in a blur of laughter and engaging conversation.
At one point, you excuse yourself to go to the restroom. As you walk away, you can’t help but glance back and smile at the sight of Gojo and Hana chatting animatedly. You feel a sense of contentment knowing that your boyfriend and your friend are hitting it off.
When you return, Gojo and Hana are laughing about something you missed, their faces lit up with genuine enjoyment. “What did I miss?” you ask, slipping back into your seat.
Gojo grins at you. “Just telling Hana about that time we got lost on our road trip and ended up at that quirky little diner.”
Hana chuckles, shaking her head. “Sounds like quite an adventure. You two must have so much fun together.”
You nod, feeling a swell of affection for Gojo. “We do. He’s always full of surprises.”
As the afternoon turns into early evening, the three of you eventually decide to leave the coffee shop. Hana has other plans, so you part ways with promises to meet up again soon.
Walking back to your car, you feel Gojo’s arm drape around your shoulders. “Hana’s great,” he says, genuinely impressed. “I can see why you two get along so well.”
You smile up at him. “I’m glad you like her. It’s nice to have friends who get along with my boyfriend.”
He gives you a squeeze, his expression softening. “Anything that makes you happy makes me happy.”
You lean into him, feeling a sense of contentment and security. Little did you know that this simple meeting would set off a chain of events that would eventually test the strength of your relationship. For now, you’re just grateful to have spent another wonderful day with the person you love.
The initial delight of Hana and Gojo's instant friendship has started to wear thin for you. What once seemed like an innocuous bond now feels like an ever-growing chasm between you and Gojo. You find yourself spending more evenings alone, as Gojo increasingly makes plans with Hana.
It’s another Friday night, and you’re sitting on the couch, scrolling through your phone absentmindedly. Gojo had promised you a movie night, but he’s late. Again. You glance at the clock, feeling the familiar knot of disappointment in your stomach.
The door finally opens, and Gojo walks in, looking carefree and cheerful. “Hey, sorry I’m late,” he says, not meeting your eyes as he kicks off his shoes. “Hana wanted to check out this new café, and we lost track of time.”
You force a smile, trying to hide your frustration. “It’s okay. Did you have fun?”
He nods enthusiastically, sitting down next to you. “Yeah, it was great. You should come next time!”
You sigh inwardly, knowing that he’s said this before but never actually made it happen. “Sure,” you reply, trying to keep the conversation light. “What about our movie night?”
Gojo’s face falls slightly, as if he’d forgotten. “Oh, right. We can still watch something now if you want.”
You shake your head, the disappointment evident in your voice. “It’s late, Satoru. I’m actually kind of tired.”
He frowns, sensing the tension but not understanding its depth. “Okay, we’ll do it another night then.”
The weeks continue in a similar fashion. Gojo spends more and more time with Hana, and despite his attempts to include you, it never quite works out. You try to communicate your feelings, but every time you bring it up, he brushes it off, assuring you that you’re overthinking things.
Tonight, you’re determined to have a good time. You dress up, hoping to remind Gojo of what you share. The party is in full swing when you arrive, music blasting and people chatting animatedly. You stick close to Gojo at first, but soon he’s drawn away by Hana.
You watch them from across the room, your heart sinking as they laugh together, seemingly lost in their own world. You try to join the conversation, but they seem to share a connection that makes you feel like an outsider.
Eventually, you decide to give them space, hoping that mingling with other friends will lift your spirits. But as the night goes on, you can’t shake the uneasy feeling. Your eyes constantly drift back to Gojo and Hana.
Near midnight, you decide to find Gojo and suggest heading home. As you make your way through the crowded house, you freeze at the sight of them in the corner. Gojo leans in, his lips meeting Hana’s in a kiss that’s all too intimate.
Your heart shatters. The room seems to close in on you, and the noise fades into a dull roar. You feel a mix of anger, hurt, and betrayal as you watch the person you love with someone else.
Gathering your courage, you step forward. “Satoru!” you call out, your voice trembling.
He pulls back abruptly, his eyes widening in shock and guilt as he sees you. “Y/N, it’s not what it looks like,” he starts, but the hurt in your eyes stops him.
Hana looks horrified, realizing the gravity of what just happened. “Y/N, I’m so sorry,” she says, but you can’t bear to hear it.
Tears stream down your face as you turn and push through the crowd, desperate to get away. Gojo follows you, calling your name, but you don’t stop until you’re outside, the cool night air hitting your face.
“Y/N, please,” Gojo pleads, catching up to you. “Let me explain.”
You spin around, the pain and anger boiling over. “Explain what, Satoru? That you kissed my friend? That you made me feel like I’m not enough?”
He looks stricken, his usually confident demeanor shattered. “I’ve been an idiot. I got too close to Hana and I let it get out of hand. But I love you, Y/N. You’re the one I want to be with.”
You shake your head, your voice breaking. “How can I believe that after everything? How am I supposed to trust you again?”
Gojo steps closer, his eyes filled with desperation. “I’ll do anything to make this right. I’ll cut ties with Hana if that’s what it takes. Just please, give me a chance to fix this.”
You take a deep breath, trying to steady yourself. “You think that will fix what you’ve done?”
Gojo looks down, his voice trembling. “I... I’m sorry—”
“That won’t fix what you’ve done, Satoru.” You breathe out, your voice shaky with emotion. “You threw away our relationship like it was nothing.”
His heart pounds in his chest, a mixture of fear and regret. He reaches out to touch your arm, but you pull away, the pain and anger in your eyes making him flinch. “Please, Y/N, it wasn’t like that. I never meant for any of this to happen. I got caught up, I made a terrible mistake. But I love you. You’re the one I want.”
You shake your head, tears streaming down your face. “If you loved me, you wouldn’t have kissed her. You wouldn’t have neglected me for weeks. Do you have any idea how worthless you’ve made me feel?”
Gojo’s face crumples, genuine fear and regret in his eyes. “I know I messed up, but please, don’t give up on us. I’ll do anything, just tell me how to fix this.”
You let out a bitter laugh, the sound harsh in the quiet night. “There’s nothing you can do to fix this, Satoru. The trust is gone. Every time I look at you, all I’ll see is you with her. How am I supposed to move past that?”
He steps back, running a hand through his hair in frustration. “I’ll prove to you that I can change. I’ll make it right, I swear.”
“Prove it?” you scoff, the hurt turning into anger. “You should have been proving it all along, not now when it’s too late. You didn’t care about us when you were spending all your time with her. Now you’re scared because you’re losing me.”
Gojo’s eyes widen, tears forming as he realizes the truth in your words. “I am scared. I’m terrified of losing you. Please, just give me a chance.”
You shake your head, the weight of his betrayal pressing down on you. “I can’t, Satoru. I can’t keep waiting for you to realize what you have until it’s gone.”
He falls silent, the reality of your words sinking in. He looks lost, broken, and you feel a pang of sympathy, but it’s overshadowed by the pain he’s caused.

edit 8/27/24: hello! below i have linked my new masterlist that contains updated parts to this series, thank you and hope you enjoy!
word count: 3.7k
| masterlist | part iii |
When you reside within the same place as another, you begin to notice particular behaviors. Of course, Stanley had resided in an unquantifiable number of places in the last decade, but he had forgotten what it was like to live alongside someone.
Forgot about the consideration of messes and manners, and forgot about his socks in corners and cans on bedside tables. These were things he never had to consider when he was confined to a single room and a shared bunk with his brother, but she was different.
The first couple months he found himself stumbling around her at times. Let her lead through doorways, ask her what she would like for dinner, using odds and ends as a coaster here and there.
But she was much the same in that way.
She hadn’t ever had to share her space like this, much less with a man. She fumbled with answers concerning dinner, forgot her delicates in the washer routinely, and had a habit of throwing her feet up on Stanley’s chair when he sat across from her at their poor excuse of a dinner table.
But this was months ago.
No, they both had noticed these intricacies about the other and had more or less adapted around them. Laundry was done half-heartedly, a quick combination of their socks and delicates. A calendar made its home on the fridge with scribbles of dinner plans, and her feet were shuffled onto his lap every night, adjusted to fit across his hips.
But she still leads through most doorways. He would never admit to why.
There were other, smaller things too. These things made him ache somewhere behind his sternum, and he usually shook them off.
Small things like how she curled at her end of the couch, or how she brought her face to any page she was scribbling on, always squinting. How she tidied the living room every morning like they would be having guests. How she came to the kitchen every morning, hand outstretched for the mug he had deemed hers.
He decided to forget about these things. At least some of them that is.
He knew for a fact that she loved it when he drove the most. She enjoyed the movement of the trees out the window, enjoyed stretching her feet up to his dash (despite his initial protest), and she loved the radio in particular.
Common law says to keep your eyes on the road, and both hands on the wheel. But it was very hard to conduct when she leaned forward towards the radio, singing under her breath. She was so relaxed here beside him on the long bench in the front of his long-loved car.
The car had been through hell and back, but he was sure it’d never encountered anything as enchanting as her bellowing singing. It would ring through the car, only ever on the way home, and only ever after a bar visit. The buzz would stray his eyes from wheel and headlights to her, head thrown back singing.
He swerved on the road more than he cared to admit when she was in the car. The reminder of her safety usually woke him up from his fantasies of her with her head thrown back, with her hair spilling around her, and a flush on her cheeks.
But he rarely kept both hands on the wheel, to begin with anyway. His right arm always flung behind, scrunched on the back part of her seat, itching to find the soft back of her neck.
Clearing his throat, he adjusted himself in his seat, both hands returning to the wheel. A smile never leaving his face, a laugh rising as she scooted closer, incoherent 70’s BABBA lyrics sung into his right ear.
He’d admit he likes driving her, in particular, around.
Tumblr media
They had made for town for a handful of differing supplies that day.
Stanley, Stan, had a bright idea to earn some seasonal money by making the front half of the shack into a tourist attraction. After an explanation of his initial encounter with a group of town folk upon his first couple days in the shack, she had nodded along in agreement.
They needed money, and the need was only growing of course.
She was the farthest from a financial advisor, but she knew the reserve of money she had come to town with was dwindling, and with them both diving head-first into Ford’s basement business, the idea of money had seemed trivial, at least to her, those first couple months.
She knew though that money wasn’t a trivial thing for Stan (Stanley). That he hadn’t had a successful last decade, and that her life strayed from his own background astronomically.
That was one thing that grated her slightly. How flippantly he spoke of Ford to her, but how he had not shared himself as willingly. It didn’t make him a liar to withhold said information, but the state of Stanley’s (Stan’s) car backseat that first month spoke of a man on the run.
But he had lit up so differently when he dragged her to the front of the shack's cluttered room. Explaining where things would go, a cash register, a display case, and certain merchandise. She’ll admit to perhaps not completely listening to him at the time, but later she would look back and reflect on how he was unsurprisingly a great salesman.
He had been so happy, dragging her from corner to corner, painting pictures with words, but he had looked too enchanting for her to really hear it. One hand in his pocket, the other gesturing, and a smile upon his handsome figure. He had reached back out, dragging her back to the front door, hand on the small of her back as he ushered her around.
It was a dump up here, truly. The one place in the house she hadn’t gotten to scouring for clues yet. She was unsure as to why she left the room untouched at the moment, but she thinks it had a lot to do with the panicked memory of meeting Stan (Stanley), and how the glow of the backroom reflected on his face made her wander in through the front door like a madwoman.
She made for the car very soon after his explanation, eager to get the supplies he would need to renovate the front of the room. He had beaten her of course, opening and closing the passenger door without so much as a prompt, and making his way to the driver's side.
The drive into town had been great as always. It was one of those mid-spring days. Wet on the windshield and crisp until 10 a.m. The hardware store served its purpose, as they wandered from aisle to aisle, looking for particular wood stains and sandpaper.
“Here it is Stanl-” He had come up behind her abruptly. Hand coming up to her mouth, stopping her sentence, flicking his eyes up and down the aisle.
She turned to face him, an apology already on her lips. But he was already looking down at her, a hidden heat behind his eyes.
“What did I tell ya, hun?” He whispered it in the space between them. “I told ya, I can’t be that here.”
He couldn’t be him anywhere anymore, at least not in the light of day. She had tried to shake the old him, but somewhere in the far reaches of her mind, she had a hard time calling him Stan.
Because she knew it meant he was being Ford, not Lee. And it was hard to lie about anything concerning him, concerning Stanley.
He sighed, his hand leaving her lips and running through his long hair. “We gotta get outta here anyways. Come along, hun.” A practiced smile reached the corners of his mouth, another lie.
Unfortunately for his psyche, the cashier wanted to talk their ear off also.
“Oh hiya, Stanford!” And of course, they knew his brother.
A smile crawled up his face anyway, making nice like he figured his brother may have done all those months ago.
Getting supplies? Any new projects?”
“Uh nah nah, not at the moment. Looking into renovating parts of the shack for some business right now.”
“Business? Really? Never took you for much of a businessman.” The cashier continued to bag their samplings of wood stains. “But hey, life takes ya in odd directions sometimes!”
He tisked. “Don’t I know it buddy.” He shook his head a little, grabbing the bag, peering over his shoulder checking for his smaller shadow. She followed in his wake, slightly downtrodden to have cut their store visit short with her stupid mouth.
“Oh, Stanford!” The cashier called, but he didn’t turn until she reached for his jacket’s dirty red sleeve, tugging to turn him back. Flushed, he meets the cashier's outstretched hand.
“The receipt! You always want the receipt.”
He crushed the receipt in his hand. “Right… right ya, thanks.”
She followed him back to the car, her hand never leaving his sleeve, brushing her warmth against his slightly shaking palm. He doesn’t forget to open her door or to slam the wood stains and sandpaper into the back of the car.
The ride back was tense, and not of its usual bravado and fanfare.  He had peeled out of the parking lot all too quickly and regretted it the next moment as he looked over and watched her pale in the passenger seat.
She didn’t reach for the radio, hands folded on her lap. She didn’t look out her window, as the trees blurred differently under Stanley’s hasty speed.
Under Stan’s hasty speed.
He didn’t want this. He didn’t want any of this mess. And he definitely didn’t want to upset her. His arm never met the back of her seat, his knuckles tight around the steering wheel.
He didn’t think of pulling over until he looked at her halfway home. Ram-rod straight, pale as all hell, and eyes blurry with undescribed grief.
He cursed under his breath, pulling the car off to the side of the road, gravel underfoot.
She got like this at times, at his temper. He knew at times he could be loud, that he raised his voice at inconveniences and the T.V. Knew that her lip curled in a particular way when on a very off day, his frustration explodes in her face. He was quick to anger at times, and she was quick to cover.
He made himself so big in the face of things, but she folded into a different shape when he did. And somewhere in the back of his mind, he prayed she knew that he would never turn his anger to her. That he had raised fists before and spilled blood, but he’d never raise them again unless it was for her, if she would allow it.
But he doesn't want her to get small in the face of his, well, everything. Because he had been angry at so many things in succession in his life he lost count, and he doesn’t want to lose the part of himself that cared for her in his anger, and he doesn't want her to fold into odd shapes and shadows in the face of him anymore. But above all, he didn’t want the reminder of his father to taint whatever the hell this was. It was bad enough he saw glimpses of him in the passing reflections from time to time.
He loved the fight in her eyes when they spat back and forth sometimes, a sarcastic, fake fight brewing between them. That’s how they both always ended up laughing at the dinner table most nights, and how he felt closer to her most days. His anger was never her responsibility, or her doing. She had never truly upset him once, and the way they played with words back and forth over a meal like an old married couple rattled a few rusty cogs in his brain from time to time. That his anger could at least be amusing, because when she smiled he forgot all about it anyway.
So he parks the car in Spring and turns to her with his guts in his lap for the first time since he spoke to her that Winter night when he thought his prayers had been answered when she plowed through the shack’s door like a tidal wave.
“I hate this.” He sighed. “And I can’t stand when you fucking look at me like that.”
Her lip curled. Fuck fuck fuck.
“I know.” It wobbled out her mouth. “I ruined the day, I’m sorry.”
He leans back, his hand meeting the back of her seat. A beat, before he turns to her completely, like he does every night across the dinner table with her feet propped across the entirety of his lap.
“I don’t want you to apologize to me. You should never have to apologize to me. I don’t want you to, ever fucking think you gotta hand that over to me again. Because you’ve never done anything to upset me doll, not ever.”
She sniffles, a moment of crisp silence. Spring rain beats on the windows in a mist. A smile comes to her lips, and he sags in relief, anger fading.
“Except when I forget the laundry on the line.” She’s cracking jokes now?
“Except that ya, because I kinda need socks and underwear mmk?” He laughs only slightly, a tiredness seeping into his posture.
“I didn’t used to be like this.”
“Like what?”
“A bad liar.” He admits. He hadn’t disclosed much of his past to her. He wasn’t ashamed of it much when it came to disclosing his long resume to others, but she made him nervous. And he hadn’t been really, truly, honestly nervous in a long time. So he did what he does best, and he lied.
“I could buy the shirt off your back from ya in under 10 minutes I swear.” He readjusts in his seat again, hand slowly creeping up the back of her seat still. “I’m a great liar, it’s how I made it from state to state, and the reason I’m not allowed back in Pennsylvania.”
She laughs truly now. She had figured that was what he was used to. Long trips and longer fibs. She didn’t care much about the morality of it, because when she imagined him somehow corrupt in her mind's eye she remembered him bent over her on the couch, and how it felt to listen to the T.V. fade into the background as he carried her up the stairs. The faintness of her sheets, and the brush of his hand on her hairline.
“But I can’t lie about this, or at least I'm really fucking bad at it.” He interrupts her thought. “I’m the farthest thing from Stanford Pines.”
“Perhaps you are, Lee.” A name she hadn’t used out loud fell between them. “But no one ever asked you to be him.”
She realized quickly in her desperation to reassure him that she was also being a hypocrite. It was hard to call him Stan, she realized, but only because she was afraid of hurting him. The memory of Stanford still lived between them, and although they tried to shutter his existence in the basement they both weren’t very good at playing pretend yet.
But they would need to be. It’d need to be the best con he’d ever pulled, that they had ever pulled. He just wasn’t used to having a partner quite yet. But they needed to be honest now if they were gonna pull it off and bring Stanford home.
“You don’t need to be him. I know you aren’t him Stanley, and I don’t want you to be.” She paused, considering. “If we are going to do all this though, we need to work together. I-I need to get better, I need to call you Stan, and you need to believe me when I tell you I’m staying for the long haul.”
He sighs again, readjusting to look over at her.
“I lived a long time trying to be something great like I thought he was, like I know he is. But I haven’t, I hadn’t, seen him in so long. I don’t know who he is anymore.”
“You both have a surprising lot in common, actually.” She shrugs, a smile coming to her lips in memory. “You both smile the same, and you both doodle the same way, and you both tilt your head to the left when I ask a dumbass question.”
He laughs at this, a memory of passing scribbles and doodles in class back and forth, and the comic books he would spend all night drawing in their shared room’s lamplight. Some things always stick, at least.
She bridged the gap of some odd ten years, and he could at least be thankful about that.
“I just want you to know… Stan. That when I do call you Stan, I mean Stanley- not Stanford.” She shrugs again, nervous. “Because you’re not him, you're right, and if you don’t want me to lie about this one small detail, it can be between us.”
She had somehow come to the heart of his predicament without much digging. He had worn many hats in his time bouncing from state to state, a conman, a businessman, a thief, and a liar. But he didn’t wanna make her one of those things, and he knew by associating with him she would need to be. Just in the blur of it all, he didn't want to be someone else to her. Not even in name. He wanted there to be honesty between them because otherwise, it wouldn't work. What wouldn’t work?
He finds resolution in her answer. That he will always be Stanley to her, and Stanford to others, at least for the time being. Oddly intimate, closely personal. He wouldn't linger on the thought.
“You’re right as usual, doll.” A smirk comes to his lips. “Team?” He questions, fist uncurling from the back of her seat, brushing between them to meet for a bump.
She smiles brightly now, meeting him in the middle. “Team.”
He sinks in the seat, beat from the emotions of the last hour already. “Okay we need to do something fucking fun now.”
“Like what?” Amused, she reaches between them to turn the radio back on, sick of the silence in the shell of the car. A hum already on her lips.
He smiles, a scheme on his lips, a memory playing in his head when he looks at her.
She flushes, a quick shake of her head. “No, no, no Stan, no I am not doing it no.”
He loves how she fights it but he knows how to get his way with her already, even if it has only been a short six months. Flushed in her seat, and begging him. Fuck.
All he has to do is fucking smile, with that stupid glint in his eyes. “Yes, ya are!” He taunts, a laugh already bellowing. “You’re driving!”
“I don’t fucking know how and you know it!” She had been embarrassed to admit it to him that one night, that she had made it this long without a driver’s license, but he had all but said please that night, vying for blackmail from her. He had told her about his kiddy comic books, so she had to fess up to something stupid of equal measure he felt.
“I’ll teach ya!”
He was already out his door and around the front of the car, opening her own, and reaching across her lap to unbuckle her from her seat when she continued to shake her head.
She moved only when he began slipping his hand under her thigh and around her back to move her across the long bench to the front of the wheel. He sometimes forgot about where he put his hands on her, when he was giddy like this. She never minded, though.
She was still shaking her head when he reached back over her to buckle her into her new spot behind the wheel, laughing all the way. Amused by her protest of this simple thing. Only amused, because he knew deep down she was actually okay with it. Another fake fight ongoing between them, some old cogs moving in his head.
He moved back some, but resided half in the passenger seat and half in the middle, his big hand on her thigh. Fuck.
He leaned down (Fuck), his other hand pointing at things she should have been paying attention to. This is like the shack all over again.
He looked back at her, even more amused by her flustered face, and repeated himself like he knew what was going on in her head. Because, well, he kinda did.
“This is the petal to the right, and the break to the left, doll.” He brings his hand back to the wheel. “This stick on the left is the turn signal, and this stick on the right is the shifter.”
She began to breath again when he moved away, but he was still chuckling through ever sentence of course. Too handsome for his own good.
“Now all ya gotta do, doll, is shift from park to drive, but put ur foot on the break first.”
“Uh… this one?” She put her left foot on the left most pedal.
He squeezed her thigh, goddamnit, leaning back into her to basically physically move her foot.
“No, no, ya gotta only use your right foot. You can’t use both.”
“Why not?”
He shrugs, tilting his head left at her dumbass question. “Because I said so.” He laughs again, hand still very warm and very present.
“Okay, okay… okay.”
He nods. “Okay okay okay, now just shift the right rod up here.” He grabs her hand, bringing it up and showing her the different gears and how to count through them. Forgetting himself in his amusement, hand still on her fucking thigh.
He laughs all the way home, and she thinks it’s worth the constant breaking she does in the middle of the road when she gets spooked by the speed of the car. The road is luckily empty, and the radio is drowned out by Stan’s commentary. She doesn’t mind the jabs at her newfound skill, and he takes jabs right back when she slams the break particularly hard and his head gets precariously close to the dash. She doubles over at that one, amused by the sudden shock on his face, but quickly distracted by the hand still on her fucking thigh. He thinks she looks nice like that, behind his wheel.
They make it back to the shack in one piece, but he’s the one that has to reach over to shift the car back into park.
He realizes when he looks back over at her, that he had forgotten his anger a while ago, and that his hand had made a new home on the soft of the back of her neck, moving from her thigh when he shifted gears.
He would let her drive again, if it meant this.
She’d admit she likes driving him, in particular, around.
He’d just need to stock up on brake pads.

“...humiliating…disgusting…barbaric…”
You flinch as your father’s anger roars. Nothing you do will ever please him.
“What do you think will be said of me? Of how I raised you?”
“You didn’t,” you want to say. Instead you apologize. Harkonnens are animals you rationalize. They were testing to see if you were prey and you had to show them you aren’t.
“And in doing so you’ve tainted yourself.”
It’s like a slap. The cut on your hand still stings from the solution they’d scrubbed on it. It had only been a handshake. It was a show of strength. He’d understand that sentiment if there was a cock swinging between your legs. He doesn’t stay to say more, leaving you to nurse the wounds alone.
Tumblr media
A feast is held that night. A welcome to your guests. You're squeezed into a new outfit, one you've been told your father deems more appropriate than the one you’d had chosen. It’s the first time he’s ever taken the initiative to dress you. It gives you no pleasure to recognize the dress as one of his courtesan’s.
“Your dress is lovely,” says the Princess Irulan when she sees you again after the food had been taken away and the party mills about in the Hall. She takes your arm and strolls with you between the bodies. The familiarity between you is striking. She speaks of her sisters, the planet she calls home. You tell her of your studies. It seems you share a fondness for the same authors.
It’s odd to feel her warm smile. There were few women in your life. Maids mostly, though they rotated frequently. A few of the castle’s regular entertainers when allowed. You don’t count the courtesans who keep your father company.
“Princess,” Paul greets her with a bow, intruding on your talks of taking an excursion around the palace grounds. Those green eyes turn on you and sweep across your form. “My lady, you look stunning.” He takes your hand again and bends to kiss it while you try not to flinch. “I hope I’m not intruding.”
“Not at all,” Irulan says with more kindness than deserved. “We were just making plans to visit the lake the day after tomorrow.”
The way his face lights up has your excitement plummeting. He’s eager to join. You stay as long as you can stand his conversation. It’s not long. You excuse yourself, claiming the need to check on the rest of your guests, and extract your arm from the princess’. You accept a kiss on your cheek from her before disappearing into the crowd.
You have no desire to mingle more. Whatever consequences you’ll face when your father finds out about you slipping out don’t worry you. His anger would have found something to punish you for anyways. Cool air greets you as you step into the gardens. It’s not your favorite place, but the training yard is too far in this getup.
“It’s rude to leave your own party.”
Hair raises on your arms, but you don’t turn to the voice. “You have my apologies for my rudeness then.”
“And it is unwise to keep your back to an armed man.”
“What fun is life without a little risk, na-Baron?”
He chuckles at that. There’s quiet footsteps as he paces behind you like a panther appraising a potential meal. You keep your eyes forward. “You and the princess seem to have bonded quite quickly.” He’s been watching you.
“She is easy to be fond of.”
Shadow swallows you as he steps behind you. Breath ruffling your hair he asks, “But Paul Atriedes is not?” He’s been watching you closely. A fingernail scraps down your bare arm. “Do you resent him for what he’s stolen from you?”
You spin.
The black void that is his smile is wide on his face. Humiliation sears your throat. How many people know of your father’s deepest shame? Feyd-Rautha seems to revel in that silent moment. Your pain brings him pleasure.
“I must return to my guests,” you say and step around him. His hand shoots out to grab your arm, but you're prepared. You evade, pull your arms taut to your chest, and dart down the hall as his laugh taunts. The respect you built with the Harkonnens was nothing more than delusion. It doesn’t matter what teeth you bare or claws you present, any show of weakness will be exploited.
You round a corner and nearly crash into a guard. The same one from earlier. He questions if you’re hurt, eyes darting the corridor behind you. He seems to find nothing. You agree with his warnings now. It’s best you don’t wander alone.
Tumblr media
You wake unrested. Images of blackened teeth, slicing blades, and hoarse laughter haunt you into the morning hours. You’ve made the decision to retain a personal guard. The choice in who is easy.
You spend the day reviewing everything for your coming of age in a couple of days. Your father is supposed to do it, but he’s nowhere to be found. It’s tedious but the hours of distraction are welcome. And it gives you reason to decline Paul’s lunch invitation. It’s only when the sun is past its peak that you’re forced to hand over the remaining duties to your grumbling father. The swordmaster demands your time to refine a performance you still can’t rationalize. Who is it for?
Your father? A man who despises any display of femininity from you? The princess? In some attempt at an apology for a marriage that can now no longer be? Or House Atreides? The ones who’d stolen your destiny before you’d been a seed in your mother’s womb? This artistry certainly isn’t for the brutes of House Harkonnen.
The music halts half way through the fourth run. “Your timing is wrong,” the swordmaster says and has you begin again.
By time he’s satisfied, your legs burn and your patience is worn thin. You can only glower at your guard, Fandral you’ve learned is his name, as he compliments the dance. “I like the story it tells,” he defends.
“There’s not a story.” You massage the shoulder of your sword arm. The ache isn’t unwelcome, but the cause is frustrating. The time would have been better spent actually training.
“All art tells a story,” he says.
You scoff. “And what’s the story? I go crazy and start fighting air?”
“You can see it that way, but I think there’s more nuance.” He eyes the girls as you hand off the swords as if expecting one of them to run you through. “It’s the story of a girl turning into a woman.”
A laugh erupts from you. It’s a fitting story for your coming of age, at least. He tries to explain his reasoning. The symbolism of the first sword as the first menstruation, the second as the final years of youthful rebellion, and the end is the acceptance of the new role as a woman. You don’t quite believe it.
There’s no dreams of black teeth or the bite of blades that night. This nightmare is of your mother. Her face unmoving. Silent as you scream. She never moves, but she’s forever out of reach. Then she’s gone and you’re left gasping in the dark alone.
Tumblr media
“This is beautiful,” Paul says in awe as he stares out over the lake.
It’s difficult to not let every word out of his mouth annoy you. You remind yourself he didn’t steal anything from you. His mother did. “You should see it at sunrise.”
He tears his gaze off the water. “I’d like that.” He says it so earnestly you feel you’re missing something.
“As would I,” Irulan says. You turn your head to look at her on your otherside, but her eyes remain focused on the scenery.
“And I,” the Harkonnen rasps in your ear.
His addition to the excursion had been as unexpected as it was unwanted. He didn’t seem the type to enjoy a day by the water. Even now, he’s at odds with the world around him. His stark white skin and ghastly black clothes unsettling out amongst the colors. You doubt he truly wants to see the beauty of first light.
“Another day,” you say. It’s not a promise.
You only plan to stay for an hour at most, enjoying a light lunch under your favorite tree, but Paul asks about going out on the lake. There’s only a small canoe available on such short notice, but it’s enough. Irulan has no desire to get on the water and says she’d prefer to ask Feyd-Rautha about the Spice harvesting on Arrakis. You aren’t keen on leaving her with him, but she insists and there’s guards to keep her safe.
Paul tries to play the gentleman and offers you his hand once he’s in the canoe, but he’s unsteady and nearly tips it over. You return his apologetic smile as you hear hoarse, barking laughter from the tree.
He’s inquisitive as you row out of sight. About your studies, arts you partake in, foods you enjoy. He even asks about your favorite color. You try to respond in kind, but he doesn’t leave you much time to catch your breath between answers let alone ask your own questions. It’s frustrating but you smile and bear it.
“What’s that?”
Blinking at him confused, you follow his gaze. A few meters from the shoreline was a small marble pavilion. It’s overgrown with vines, graying from the accumulation of dirt and grime. You’ve forgotten it was here. It feels like there’s cotton in your mouth when you speak. “Just an old pavilion.”
You let him take the canoe further for a while longer, before turning it back. You don’t look at the pavilion when you pass it again. It’s a relief to come back into view of the others. The canoe floats to stop beside the small dock. Fandral is there waiting, his arm extended. But Paul stands too quickly and the canoe sways. Your hand brushes Fandral’s outstretched one for a moment, but you tilt the other way and spill into the frigid water.
It's not deep. Once you have bearings you’re able to stand and your head breaks through the surface. You take in a deep, shuddering breath. There’s a commotion beside you. Paul’s head pops out and sprays more water in your face.
Someone’s speaking, but there's a river flowing in your ears that makes it impossible to understand. It's a difficult walk to the dock. Your dress is heavy and the water slows your steps. An arm reaches out to you and you take it to help pull yourself up.
Feyd-Rautha stares down at you. Not with a smile. There’s no amusement on his face. There's something new in his eyes you don’t recognize. It takes Fandral’s interference to release you from the intensity of his gaze. The guard shrugs off the jacket of his uniform and drapes it around your shoulders.
Irulan frets despite your multiple assurances you’re fine. It wasn’t deep. There was no danger. You’re wet, that’s all. Paul apologizes over and over and over again. “It was an accident,” you say in hopes of appeasing his guilt. You want Paul Atreides to leave you alone.

Ex bf John Price x reader
1.6k | angst Price was back in Liverpool (part 2)
“John?”
That voice was definite. It couldn't be, but there you stood when he turned.
A soft smile spread across your lips. “I recognised the beanie.”
It was your gift from all those years ago, dark grey with his initials, JMFP, embroidered on the bottom.
He chuckled, the kind that made his eyes crinkle.
“How long has it been? 5 years?”
He shifted his weight. “Thereabouts.” Has it really been that long?
The last time you saw each other was when he dropped you off the train station, three years’ worth of your relationship dragged behind in your luggage. It was much heavier than it looked.
You stood in front of the train, your back to him, unmoving. His heart had been in his throat since the night before, ever since you started packing, when ‘our apartment’ became simply ‘John’s’. His nails dug into his palms, wishing you’d turn around. There were still a few seconds for you to change your mind.
You boarded - your one-way trip back to Liverpool.
“I didn’t expect you to still have it.”
He was exposed. He wished he didn't wear the beanie, but it was always his favourite.
“You alright?
“Never better.” His cheeks ached, or was it his chest? “You?”
He didn’t need to ask. It was easy to see. Your eyes bright, cheeks flushed from the weather. You looked as good as the day he met you.
In his worn fleece button down, he was self-conscious of how he was still the same at best, but who was he kidding - the years hadn’t been kind to him. Nowadays his scruff was an excuse to not have to shave so often.
You weren’t supposed to meet again, and not there of all places, but it was funny really. It was the same place you first met. The memories flooded in.
It was no secret that people could only pick one: military or family. Well, most of them anyway, some lucky bastards got to have both. John didn’t care about having to choose when he walked down this path in life. He never had plans for relationships, and the disinterest served him well, allowing him to excel over his peers. Until you came along.
Still a lieutenant then, John was back home in Liverpool browsing the beer aisle at the nearest supermarket. Next to him, your first summer after uni, you were in charge of the drinks for your brother’s birthday BBQ. You asked if he could help you with the overwhelming selection. When he carried the purchase back to your car, you invited him to the party instead.
You were inseparable the rest of the summer. Each touch seared his skin and he felt 10 years younger. Despite the circumstances, the both of you were unwilling to leave the fire behind. Between deployments, you always made time to visit each other, connection unwavering.
Having you in front of him was surreal. He stood there with knees that didn’t work like they used to, his head constantly thumping. He’d taken a beating and the years between you stretched further, like you were frozen in time and he was… here. You were unforgettable, but the air around you was foreign. You didn’t look at him like you used to. Maybe that’s what happened if he wasn’t your muse anymore.
You would have followed him to the end of the world. He knew it – you did it. After a year, you dropped all you knew. Your family, life-long friends, the job you were after the whole of uni. You started all over for him.
With you, he was on top of the world, the luckiest man defying the odds. Life fell into a comfortable rhythm. You made do; got yourself a decent job, far from perfect but it was a sacrifice you were willing to make.
On track to becoming a captain, guilt sat heavy in his chest when he left you for weeks on end, but the kisses grew sweeter the longer he went, and your grateful smile at the door told him it was alright. He could have both you and the SAS.
“I got my dream job a few months ago.”
Of course you did. It’s you.
“I heard you got shot in the leg this year. Hope you’re doing better.”
He grimaced. “Who told you?”
“Your mum. She calls sometimes.”
He let out a small sigh. “She always loved you.”
“The 141 doing alright?”
He hung his head and gave a weak nod. He preferred you to not ask.
Death was the soulmate of war. It was the harsh reality how countless comrades of his fell, some you knew personally - their wives and kids and how the horrors haunted even years after.
Distant worry swirled into a dark cloud. Someone else was in the relationship. The reaper loomed as she went down her roll call and it couldn’t help but look like John was waiting for his turn with a smile, his doom as certain as the fall of the night.
At first, John was optimistic. When the thoughts consumed, he calmed you down with a few days at home, never leaving your side.  Over time, it was evident he couldn’t – you couldn’t. Him working overtime didn’t make you miss him more, coming home after weeks apart was no longer sweet.
Each day ate at you, knowing it could very well be one of his last. This was going nowhere but straight into a singular outcome. With each name scratched out, you were haunted by progressively worse nightmares. It was unhealthy - he could see it on you.
You loved rings. He got you one for each anniversary. When he gave you his family heirloom, thinking the commitment would soothe you, you gave it back to him. No ring could unearth the dread in your chest. Nothing would change how this was going to play out.
The rest of the evening was tense, and when you jerked awake later that night, the lump in your throat only swelled. Your whole body begged you to run. He could taste it in your hasty kisses, your touches fleeting.
The fear in your eyes had morphed into guilt. That’s when he knew it was over.
When John came back from his next mission, you told him you were leaving, tears down your cheeks. He knew it was coming, but it hurt all the same.
How could he hate you, even if you left? Even after you dropped everything to be with him. It was always too good to be true.
Happy endings didn’t belong to him. The fact crawled under his skin in the chill of the night, etched into the pastel dawn sky of empty desserts, howled by the wind. He’d done more than enough terrible things to be denied of the niceties of the world. You were the best thing in his, but it was much too late.
You always said you were both too young, that when you decided to be together, you didn’t fully understand what a relationship with him entailed. You said you didn’t want to make him choose, that he didn’t deserve to be forced to choose. Said he was excellent at what he did, and you weren’t going to take that away.
That night before you left, you kissed for the last time. You forced a smile through the tears as he looked at you with gut-wrenching longing. He wanted to remember forever the softness your skin, the gasps you let out when he touched you, the way your eyes shut, his name tumbling out of your lips as your back arched.
John wasn’t a crier, but the unshed tears stung. He chanted ‘I love you’ against every inch of you. Maybe if he said it enough you’d change your mind. He wasn’t in his body when he started sobbing. You held each other until sleep took over, and he thought he wouldn’t be upset if he didn’t wake again.
Perhaps you were right. How far he’d come could only be credited to the undying drive in him. It was a blessing and a curse as it cost him you. So he devoted the rest of him into work. It was the only thing he had, the only thing left to do to make losing your worth it, but nothing softened the blow.
When you left, his world capsized, drained. It took him over a year to put the pieces back together, but he could have sworn you’d taken some with you. You’d awoken a desire in him that never got satiated again. You left him high and dry with a bleeding chest.
You were more than just someone, more than just a partner. You were the one he was going to settle down for, even if he never could figure out how to reconcile the idea.
John closed his eyes. Was this a sick joke the world was playing on him? In the midst of uncertainty, in his unending sorrow where the fantasy of giving it all up had budded, why now?
With you in front of him, the kind eyes, the curve of your pretty lips - he could almost hear you say ‘we should have tried harder’. He knew he would. I just need you to ask. Ask and I’m yours in a heartbeat.
“Nice seeing you, John. Merry Christmas. Take care, okay?”
He let out an unsteady sigh.No matter how much it hurt, no matter how many what ifs and the parallel universes he'd ventured out to, it was for the best.
At least you looked happier. That's the most he could get, as a man with sins too heavy to carry.  Maybe he’d get another chance when the world ran out of bad guys. Maybe in another life.
He forced a smiled and you turned.
He pretended not to notice the glint of gold on your left hand.

Can you make the danganronpav3 boys with a jealous s/o props if you put extra time into Shuichi, Rantaro and Kokichi they’re my favourites
Thank you if you do!
awwwright here it is, hope you like it :)
request | v3 boys x a jealous S/O
type | established relationship , non killing game , light hearted , gender neutral reader
Tumblr media
shuichi saihara always reminds his love that he only has eyes for them, no one else can compare anyway. still though, they feel the slight sting of envy whenever he is with kaede or himiko, even if they are just his close friends. "come here" he'll beckon his S/O over to sit nearer to him. once they do; he'll embrace them, pulling them in so very close and holding on tight. his sleuthing skills led him to the conclusion that today they were feeling especially jealous. (jk he just can read the room v well) "i'm here, and i'm not going anywhere." he promises.
Tumblr media
rantaro amami's S/O makes him pinky promise that he has room for only one love and that's them. "i have you here, and that's all i need." he kisses their hand gently. later on, if they still feel jealous, he really lays on his charm thick. the sentences "you're all i could ever ask for." & "you're the only one i want." can be heard while rantaro and his S/O are on a hillside, watching the summer festival fireworks. he squeezes their hand as they walk past the many crowds of tourists surrounding the area.
Tumblr media
kiibo usually tries to get his love to talk about all the reasons they are feeling jealous. damn, i wish i was the ultimate inventor so i could spend more time with him is what his S/O would think everytime miu pulled him away for maintenance. when they finally communicate their envious thoughts to him, he says: "this likeness for you is physically impossible for me to feel towards any other person." kiibo pauses. "or in other words, you taught me how to love, and for that i'm devoted to you." and, at least in that moment, their jealousy went away.
Tumblr media
korekiyo shinguji tells them they need not worry, for everyone can get a little envious at times. they always remember how kiyo mentioned he had had encounters with various women from villages he visited in the past. they knew they shouldn't get jealous of that since they weren't even dating at the time but...
however, he had a fix for this. laying his S/O down and whispering affirmations into their ear. "i won't ever leave you, my dear. you have my word."
Tumblr media
kaito momota helps his S/O's jealousy go away by making the push to spend more time with them. if it's attention they want, attention is what they will receive. he's a man of action and shows them that they're the only one he'll do these things with. he chose a late night picnic under the stars for him and his love.
Tumblr media
gonta gokuhara will hold his S/O for an hour straight before he allows them to be jealous any second longer. "gonta promise he only love you!" he always says it with so much sincerity, they have no reason to doubt him.
Tumblr media
ryoma hoshi reminds them that there is so use feeling jealous. "i'm already yours." he states it as fact, so they take it as fact. ryoma's comfort is his S/O, just as he is his S/O's comfort. he plans for it to stay that way for a very long time
Tumblr media
kokichi ouma's initial reaction is to tease them about it. "aww, you feel that much for me?" he says it as if it's a laughing matter, but internally he feels as though he should make more time for them. he begins making excuses up, explaining to his friends that he can't hang out that day because of (insert ridiculous reason) but in reality it's all because he wants to see how happy his S/O gets when they get more of his undivided attention.

Baby Brain (Seungmin x Reader)
Masterlist
Summary: Seungmin has to suffer with his pabo members… and now also his pabo wife.
Type: Fluff 🧸, SFW
Warnings: Mentions of pregnancy, proofreading to a minimum (it’s my thing, I’m sorry)
Word count: 2569
AN: This fic is a part 2 to Seungmin’s version of the He Knows Series. It can also be read as a stand alone. I took my precious time with this one because I guess my period played games with me and the first versions were angsty af… And that was not the vibe I wanted for my man Kim Seungmin. I think I finally got it, and also huge spoiler for Hyunjin’s part 2 (which is posted too!)
Tumblr media
Seungmin sighed as he let Choon-Hee paint his toenails pink and yellow.
He was really working on his patience lately. You sat across from him on the carpet in the living room while Nari “did” your hair.
The Hwang twins, or “dumpling girls” (as the boys called them), were happy to spend the afternoon with you and your husband. A little break for their parents to be able to go on a date alone, and a good practice for what was about to come for you.
“Ready!”
Nari walked around you with a bright smile on her face as she saw the long braid she managed to make with your silky hair.
“Already? Wow!” You smiled and reached for the hand mirror to see her work. “You did so good, Nari! Look, Minnie!”
He looked up at you, for a second his sight leaving Choon-Hee to find you. Initially, he did not like the idea of babysitting a set of three year old twins, but these two girls were pretty easy to manage and to please.
“Woah!” He pretended to be stunned.
In a way he was… Your hair, although maintaining its pregnancy glow and thickness, looked a lot like a bird’s nest. A true 3-year-old masterpiece.
You giggled, you knew it was a horrible mess with tangles and odd twists… but you enjoyed indulging the little ones.
Seungmin was able to see it; your motherly instincts were beginning to take over slowly. As the months began passing and your pregnancy became more evident, so did the signs of your body and mind getting ready become more evident as well.
From the baby bump that grew in a slow but steady manner, to the way you began fixing and arranging things at home, making sure the nursery was ready, preparing spaces for the baby and worrying more and more about Seungmin too.
Your husband only agreed to babysit for Hyunjin because you had already agreed to babysit for Hyunjin!Reader.
The afternoon went by in a blur as you sat with the girls to play and watch cartoons, Seungmin had to be the most responsible adult at home, seeing as your baby bump had begun to keep you from being too active.
He prepared snacks and handed each of the girls (you included) a small bowl with crackers and baby carrots.
“Thank you!” You and the twins said in unison, much to Seungmin’s amusement.
At that point your husband realized he was now watching three girls. Poor Seungmin spent the rest of the afternoon watching you too. Keeping you safe while you decide to do little little somersaults with the girls on the living room carpet.
The truth was that you had a lot of time on your hands lately. Since you found out for sure that you were pregnant thanks to the lab test, you have been a cause of concern for your husband… With all the pregnancy symptoms and the planning for the nursery, you decided to give in to Seungmin’s request of taking things slow. You reduced your hours at the hospital; working only part time. It was supposed to be like that until you went on leave but as things rarely ever go as planned you ended up developing some complications during the second trimester. Doctor’s best advice? Rest. And so you rested; you talked to your boss and you took time off from work. Now you are at home full time, spending most of your time reading medical journals or parenting books. Shopping online for what might be necessary for your little boy once he was born.
Most of all, what you did during your free time was visit Seungmin and the boys during their dance practice and rehearsals. They would be dancing and you would sit with Han!Reader and both would marvel at everything and anything her small Haerin would do. Sometimes Hyunjin!Reader would be there too, her girls already went to kindergarten so she would have the morning’s to herself either to work or run errands.
For your husband’s delight, anytime you and Hyunjin!Reader got together, it meant he would have to keep an eye on you. Even without her, the second you began joking with Lee Know and Hyunjin it was bad news for him.
You did not know it, or maybe you had heard it at some point… but you were considered by the boys as an honorary member of paboracha. You would dance with the boys, attempting to follow their dance moves but most of the time you would get tangled up and trip. Now you were pregnant and almost at the end of your second trimester, your brain was just not in it with you.
Seungmin found you looking for your glasses while you were already wearing them, or looking for your phone while you were on a phonecall. He would see you trying so hard to understand the instructions on a youtube video while trying to knit something for your baby… and he would find a tangle of yarn on the sofa most nights, a clear sign that you gave up that day. He loved to see you cook, but nowadays it is also a struggle that gives him a heart attack every time. You do not seem to think much about what you are doing lately, and it shows in how you burned the toaster when you wanted to turn it on one day, for some reason you put it on the stove and turned on the stove instead… So for the last few weeks the stove and the dangerous appliances are off limits for you.
Seungmin enjoys the quiet tranquility that putting the girls to sleep brings to your home. Finally, after several hours of chasing the toddlers around and keeping his eye on you, the girls got tired and accepted a glass of warm chocolate milk. You held Choon-Hee and he held Nari, each one held onto their favorite blanket and finished the milk from their sippy cups before falling asleep.
“It’s like they’re drunk on milk,” Seungmin whispered, not wanting to disturb the sensitive girls.
“Mhm…” You smiled, holding Choon-Hee close to your chest, effectively creating a perfect warmth cocoon for the little girl.
If there was any difference Seungmin could notice from you in the last few months, besides the obvious physical changes that came with the whole “creating new life” aspect of things; it was that you were more tender. You kissed him goodnight and you touched his cheek in such a way that he could not help but feel his heart swell up with tenderness. You were also more drawn to children in a way you were not before. To Seungmin you were a sweet person, someone kind with no fear of showing their emotions. Now it seemed you were ten times that sensitive, he had to be more careful about his choice of words and the way he behaved - a single eye roll from him during your second trimester brought you to tears one afternoon and if he had to be honest, he was deeply ashamed of it.
He watched you holding Choon-Hee and he fixed his hold on Nari. He was guilty of not having the same change as you, he could not yet feel that tenderness for a little human made of half you and half himself. He was unable to wrap his head around the concept of loving the growing human in your womb. He was assured by his older members that what he saw you already feeling for your baby would come to him naturally as well. That it would happen when the time was right.
“Let me get these two to sleep…”
He got up from the couch and fixed Nari in his arms, the girl already used to Uncle Seeungmin’s firm grasp, turned and held onto his neck while resting her cheek on his shoulder. Nari was the sweetest of the two, the quiet one. She enjoyed attention a lot less than her sister, but she was also the one who needed the most assurance. Seungmin brought her to their room, placing her on their bed with a blanket turned into a roll at the edge of it, helping her stay safely on the mattress without rolling off of it.
When he came back to get Choon-Hee, he found you also sleeping. Your hold on the girl was weak and gentle- The youngest of the twins was the most trouble maker; but sleepy as she was, Seungmin managed to pull her from your arms and take her to sleep next to her sister.
You felt Seungmin pull your legs up as he helped you find a comfortable position on the couch, getting you to rest with a soft blanket over your. He got to read for a little bit while you slept and the night set in. Hyunjin and his wife showed up almost thirty minutes later to get their twins. They looked happy and disheveled, but neither you nor Seungmin commented on it. You barely noticed, and Seungmin was making a mental note to tease his group member during rehearsals the following week…
“They must have tired themselves out…” You told Hyunjin!Reader while Hyunjin and Seungmin carefully put the twins in their double stroller.
“Oh, they didn’t give you trouble, did they?” Hyunjin!Reader offered you an apologetic smile, “We just needed some time for ourselves… and when you offered… I didn’t even think of warning you!”
You laughed softly, aware that you needed to keep your voice down.
“Don’t worry!” You squeezed your friend’s arm, “they were perfect… they’re such good girls! Right, Minnie? We had so much fun!”
Seungmin looked up at Hyunjin as he helped him cover the stroller with a blanket, Hyunjin looked amused as he saw the look on his friend’s face.
“Did you?” Hyunjin asked him quietly, his doubt evident.
While Seungmin was not bad with children at all, he rarely ever offered to babysit for his friends. Most of the time it was you who offered.
“As the only responsible adult in the house? Yeah, I guess it wasn’t that bad…” Seungmin sighed.
Hyunjin smiled up at you, assuming you had not heard him. “Did you really have fun?”
You nodded, smiling widely. “Yes! And it was great practice for us, Seungmin just needs to brush up on his playtime, but I would say he is ready!” You winked at your husband, obviously trying to tease him.
Seungmin grinned, mentally forcing himself to not roll his eyes, “yeah, maybe…but I’ve got nap time down!”
You blushed and looked back at Hyunjin!Reader, “I fell asleep too… I think I got carried away playing with them earlier”
“Please come visit and get carried away playing anytime…” Hyunjin commented, “they don’t ever seem to run out of energy at home, even if one does, there is still the other…”
Hyunjin!Reader nodded. “We’re signing up for dance lessons, they need to get that energy out somehow…”
You smiled “Oh, they’re gonna be so cute! What are you thinking, baby ballet?”
Both parents nodded, “it’s that or taekwondo… but I don’t want them fighting so they’ll get tutus.”
Seungmin chuckled, “yeah… that’s gonna keep them from fighting…”
Hyunjin gave him a look before speaking: “Anyway, thanks for babysitting, we really needed the time off.”
You nodded too and smiled at your friend, “oh, don’t mention it! We are happy to help, you’re basically family…”
Seungmin agreed with that and said goodbye to Hyunjin before going to the door with them.
You were alone at last, after spending most of the day running around preparing for the twins and then watching them and keeping them entertained the only thing you wanted to do was to get changed and go to bed.
“Minnie, did you really not have fun?” You asked him as you grabbed his arm and leaned onto his side.
He sighed, “I did… it’s just… you’re so hard to keep up with. You need to take care of yourself, you know? I can’t be the only one taking care of you and the baby…”
“Oh…” You pursed your lips, letting out a small laugh, “I just… feel so restless, you know?”
Seungmin nodded as you walked through the house and into your bedroom.
“What do you mean?”
You sighed and explained, “well, I… I think I have a baaad case of this thing… uhm ‘baby brain’.”
Seungmin looked a little defeated. You always managed to be the last person to get the memo it seemed. He felt somewhat amused and incredulous but he allowed you to elaborate.
“I feel like I forget things and I do things that don’t really make sense, Minnie…” You frowned, “And I just can’t figure out how to make a stupid blanket!”
He chuckled at your comment about the knitting project, he was already aware you were struggling with that but he knew better than to say anything, not wanting to hurt your extra-sensitive feelings.
“It’s okay, Y/N…” He reassured you, rubbing small circles on your back. “Your body is working really hard to make a baby. I guess it’s normal that your mind is busy…”
You looked up at him and smiled, “you’re so good to me…” You wrapped your arms around his waist and he wrapped his arm around your shoulders, a small smile appearing on his face. “I know you must be so frustrated with me… and you still cope so well.”
Your husband kissed the top of your head, “I wouldn’t do it for anyone else, Y/N. Only my wife gets my patience.”
“Only me? How about Eun-Jae?” You looked up at him, testing out the name you picked for your baby a few days ago.
Seungmin smiled and looked down at you nodding. Watching the way you stare at him so lovingly he could not help but feel like there is a weight to the name you chose. He put his hand on your belly, rubbing it slowly. He felt some movement under his hand and his eyes widened in surprise, turning to you quickly.
“Hm, he’s moving a lot today. Did you feel that?”
You stared at him with curiosity, Seungmin had yet to experience the feeling of your baby moving in your belly.
He nodded, dumbfounded. “He… moved?”
With a gleeful smile you nodded and pulled his hand over your stomach so he could feel it again, where your baby seemed to be kicking.
“I like to think he’s happy when he kicks like this, he is so strong already…”
“Eun-Jae?” Seungmin asked quietly.
It was true what his members said. That love for his son would come one day and hit him suddenly. And it happened right then, after a busy day while preparing to go to sleep. He watched your stomach with renewed wonder and love, and you touched his cheek softly before kissing it.
“Oh, our baby boy is so lucky to have such a loving, patient dad…”
You went to push your glasses up on the bridge of your nose and almost stuck a finger into your eye. Seungmin sighed and chuckled as he turned his attention back to your face, he brushed a strand of hair behind your ear.
“Pabo, you’re not wearing your glasses today… you put on your contacts this morning…”
“Right…”

Why i think Dabi / Touya is still alive after chapter 430
Tumblr media
#spoilers ahead
Ok first of all,this shit was so ass, i dont even wanna think about how the final chapter looks like it was set in a dark AU ending where nothing changes and rei looks older than ever, still pushing enjis wheelchair for the past 8 years🤮, shoto being a workaholic (and soon being num ONE). Shouldnt he be more focused on his friendships??
Plus, no mention of his siblings that his arc has been working on reconnecting him with. 🤮 So like...Enji won? Shoto will be number one after all wtff..
But id rather think about the fact that touya could still be alive after the timeskip. Here are a few reasons why..
No gravestone shown, no image of a shrine or a burial, hell..no mention of his death AT ALL unlike with toga or shigaraki, erasers friend and midnight...hell, deku even hallucinates shiggy. If touya was truly dead i feel like we wouldve seen a panel of his shrine or ANY indication if his death.
Society and tech have improved so much that quirkless deku can be a hero, so theres no way that touya, with a partial healing ice quirk isnt kept alive.
He was last shown to be 'slowly marching towards death' like BITCH thats literally what being alive is, we are all slowly marching towards death😭
This man is allergic to dying and i do believe that hori left his outcome ambiguous for a reason, if hori wanted to show touya dead he 100% would.
Shoto smiling..like bro would be smiling like that after his oldest brother passed away, like i said, intentionally hori is avoiding any mention of Touya, even natuso is not shown or mentioned, just that shoto has become a workaholic and on his way to being number one...
Plus the panel text is from Deku's pov. So its not todoroki's internal monolouge thats revealed, only his expression and hopefully thats an indicator that his siblings are ok.
Hori has 100% lost the plot lmao, the ending is so convoluted and out of character that theres simply no in universe reason why Touya would be straight up dead. Making shoto mention his father instead of his brothers or sister or MOTHER was certainly a choice🤮🤮🤮.
Old rei pushing enjis wheelchair is sickening and i dont wanna believe that shes still his maid if she has had to mourn touya a second time, its gross and literally a dark au cause wtf.
Since none of shotos siblings were mentioned, this empty space of detail lets us assume that shoto isnt stressing about them. If touya was dead we would see him visiting his shrine, in japanese culture, visiting gravestones and praying to shrines of the dead is symbollic.
I firmly believe that hori either got seriously sick (he said his ears were leaking fluid) or got pressured by his team (he said he cried when his management made him scrap an extra comic page he drew of dabi and sceptic on the past) , i believe that at this point, he didnt have a lot of creative control over his work and wasnt allowed to dedicate more panels to the LOV. HE HAD to prioritise enji and the characters at the top of the poll. When touya came 4th on the final poll, it was too late, his story became enji's story even though hori confessed that he had initially written enji to be killed off in the high end nomu fight.
The story is such a retconned mess, theres no way he wasnt planning shiggy and touya to be SAVED physically, literally touyas last panel is of him crying alone lmaoo.
IN BOTH of Horikoshi's previous serialized series the villains lived and got to reform and atone at the end..
But yeah, my end verdict is that hori intentionally didnt mention touya for the fans to theorise about him living💀
Tumblr media
BONUS ~ i saw a post mentioning this, There is also a throwaway panel of the Doctor "curing the uncurable" - which could refer to Touya

A Weekend in Vienna 🇦🇹
Tumblr media
While vacationing in Germany, Chantelle’s (OC) best friend, Adrian (also an OC), books an impromptu trip to Vienna to visit extended family. Chantelle decides to join her for the last few days of her trip, where she meets an interesting friend of Adrian’s family who offers to show the two around the city for the weekend🤭
TW: Pretty much none, not for this chapter anyway, but things will get 🌶️spicy🌶️ in the next parts. Also there is an age gap between OC and König, she is 25 and he is about 36-37.
CW: FemOCs, female pronouns used, while both characters are technically OCs please feel free to imagine them however you’d like, ultimately the main character is the reader, I just didn’t want to use “Y/N” so I gave them names 🙈
Word Count: 1,516
*DISCLAIMER*
This is my first time EVER writing any kind of fan fiction so please go easy on me 😭 if you like where things are going, likes and reblogs would be greatly appreciated! If you’d like to see anything in particular in the next part or part(s), I’d love to hear it!
This version of König is based on the above interpretation drawn by @lettaniko (I hope you don’t mind me using it! I absolutely love this drawing it’s perfect! 🫶🏼)
I like a nice build up to the smut so if you like to get right into it this is probably not going to be for you…but if you can wait I it out I promise it’ll be worth it 😂
Enjoy! 💋
Tumblr media
7:30am. There’s approximately 30 minutes before my train departs for Vienna, and I still haven’t reached the train station yet. I scrambled as I dashed out of my hotel room, hoping I’d left the place in a somewhat decent state and I hadn’t forgotten anything valuable as got into the elevator. I’ve been exploring Munich for the past two weeks and I’ve been having the absolute time of my life. Although traveling alone can be quite scary, oddly enough, I’ve never felt more at home. Munich is such a vibrant city, filled with all kinds of exciting things to do and I’ve met so many incredible people, it’s definitely been the experience of a lifetime. To say that I am not looking forward to going back home to Vancouver would be an understatement, but all good things must come to an end. I’d spent about a year and a half learning to speak German, and promised myself that I would plan a trip in celebration of achieving fluency, so here I am! Now, Vienna wasn’t initially on my list of places to visit when I decided to come to Germany, but my best friend, Adrian, ended up booking a spur of the moment flight last week to visit extended family in Austria and suggested I come hangout with her during the last few days of my trip. Seeing as its only a 3-4hr train ride from Munich, I figured why the hell not! I’ve heard Vienna is beautiful, and Im at all not opposed to exploring another city.
Upon arrival at the train station in Vienna I was greeted by Arian, excitedly jumping up and down while holding up a large white sign that read “Willkommen in Wien, Schlampe!” I rolled my eyes and shook my head, laughing as I got off the train and ran over to her, tackling her in a tight embrace as she laughed hysterically. “Did you have to let the whole station know that I’m a bitch or…?”
“Honestly, they should’ve known the moment they saw you.” She said jokingly. “How was the ride over?” She asked.
“Amazing, I haven’t slept that well in years. It also didn’t feel like a 4 hour train ride.”
“Trains in out here are quite quick so I wouldn’t be surprised if it somehow took less time. They definitely shit on the ones we have back home.”
“Oh for sure.” I agreed as we began walking over to the car.
“So a family friend of ours just came back from a mission in the states, he’s in the military bee tee dubs —“
“Yeah kinda pieced that together when you said ‘mission’.” I chuckled.
“I don’t drive out here so he’s gonna give us a ride back to my aunts, cool?”
“Sounds good.”
“He’s also a lot more familiar with Vienna than I am, so he offered to show us around a bit later on this evening.” Aw how nice of him. Knowing Adrian, the first place she’ll want to be taken to is the nearest bar, that girl can drink! If there’s one thing I’ve learned from my time in Germany, and my 10 years of friendship with Adrian, it’s that Europeans love their liquor. There are people from all parts of Europe in Germany and that’s one thing that remains quite consistent across the board. I also love my liquor, which is probably why I ended up fitting in so well.
We finally arrived at the car and opened the trunk to begin loading all of my luggage inside. I’d brought a small carryon suitcase, a duffle bag, as well as a large suitcase that was full of clothes I’d over packed from home, and a bunch of other clothes and souvenirs I’d bought in Munich. “Okay this one’s gonna be a tad heavy.” I warned as Adrian grabbed hold of the handle on the top. I reached forward to try to help her lift, but neither of us could manage the weight. “I got it.” His voice was low, but gentle. He had an accent, but it wasn’t overwhelming or harsh, nor did it make anything he said hard to understand. I wasn’t expecting to see the person I saw when I’d finally caught a glimpse of him…I don’t think I’ve ever seen a man like this in my entire life. Adrian and I stepped back as he grabbed hold of the suitcase, lifting it with absolute ease, as if it were light as a feather. His arm muscles bulged within the confines of his olive green long sleeved shirt as he tossed the suitcase inside the trunk. My heart began to race, It felt as if I was watching him move in slow motion. “Easy peasy.” He smirked as he turned around and looked down at me, his dazzling dark blue eyes awash with amusement at Adrian and I’s prior struggle. Jesus Christ…This man is an absolute unit. He’s gotta be at least 6 foot 7, if not taller. He’s incredibly easy on the eyes in a rough and rugged kinda way — a nice low trimmed beard, medium length dark brown hair, and a smile that is captivatingly dangerous to say the least. His presence alone exudes a confidence that causes me to grow weak in the knees. “I’m König,” he smiled knowingly as he stretched his hand out towards me. I know I’m definitely not the first woman to look at him the way I am. Even though I’m trying to keep my composure, it’s very clear that he can see right through it. “And you must be Chantelle?” He asked, eyes slowly roaming about my frame from head to toe. He bites his lip slightly as they return to my gaze, suggesting so much without saying any words at all. “I — yes.” I blushed, sheepishly brushing my hair behind my ear as I shook his hand. “Nice to meet you.” He said. “Oh yeah, König Chantelle, Chantelle König.” Adrian yelled from the backseat. He laughed and shook his head as he closed the trunk.
We arrived at Adrian’s aunts house about 45 minutes later. König helped us load all of my things into the foyer before letting us know he’d be coming back in a few hours to take us out to this bar that he and a few of his buddies on his task force frequent whenever they’re home. I’ve been thinking about him ever since he left — those mysterious blue eyes, the way he slightly bites his lower lip just before laughing at something ridiculous Adrian has said, the way his arm muscles swell beneath his shirt with the slightest movement…God, he’s sexy. I could think of a million different ways I’d want him to ruin me. The thought alone of being trapped beneath his large brawny frame writhing in pleasure as he thrusts into me over and over has me clenching around nothing. Though I’m not usually one for a one time fling, I have a feeling he’d be able to convince me. “So, you wanna tell me what all of that was about?” Adrian asked as she helped me settle into the guest room. “What are you talking about?” I asked. “Since when are you a shy girl?” She giggled. Sigh. I figured she was referencing my unusual silence during the car ride over here. “He’s hot as fuck but I’ve never seen you like that before.”
“Ugh!” I groaned as I covered my face with a pillow. She’s right. I’m not very easily intimidated. I’m quite the confident woman and I ensure everyone in the room knows it, but this was different. Almost as if our energies were fighting for dominance, and mine didn’t stand a chance. “Hey if it’s any consolation, my jaw dropped the first time I saw him without his mask too.” Mask?
“Mask?” I asked.
“Yes…the last time I was here he was on base training recruits, so I’d see him often in full tactical gear. He’s a snipper, so he wears a mask to hide his face in the field. I mean, that was hot too, but in a Ghostface kinda way”
I couldn’t help but laugh at the comparison, but I was curious to see what his entire ensemble looked like. “How old is he?” I asked.
“I think he’s in his mid to late 30s? I’m honestly not too sure, and it doesn’t matter to me either way.” She winked. “I was sensing some unspoken vibes between the two of you in the car though. Don’t think I didn’t see both of you stealing glances at each other every now and then.” She smirked.
“Stop,” I scoffed. “A man like that is definitely not single, and even if he is…I don’t know” I blushed. “I didn’t see him looking at me..”
“K well I see everything, he definitely likes what he sees, and clearly the feeling is mutual on your end as well. Looks like tonight will be interesting.”
“Nothing’s gonna happen, Adrian.” I laughed as I rolled my eyes. Nothing’s gonna happen…right?

Conspiracy
Simeon
This is wrong. How is any of this deemed acceptable?
Ever since my and Luke's return to the Celestial Realm following the announcement of an indefinite postponement of the opening ceremony for Diavolo's school, these thoughts have been constant in my head.
You see, Father feels like the brothers haven't been punished sufficiently enough for defying Him. It's not enough for them to merely be cast down to the Devildom. In His eyes, they don't deserve the opportunity to live a happy life down there. He'd much prefer to personally torture them for the next millennia or so before casting their souls down in Cocytus for all of eternity.
So, He gave Michael permission to do whatever it takes to get the brothers back up here. Michael decided that the easiest way to convince them to leave the Devildom would be by telling them that we're willing to pardon them for their digressions. And since Michael's presence down there would make the brothers highly suspicious, he's planning on taking on the form of Raphael during his trip. After all, most of the brothers are scared of Raphael, so they'd do anything to avoid his wrath.
And guess whose responsibility is it to make sure that Michael's impression of Raphael is pretty much perfect?
Fucking Raphael. How dare he put this on my plate?
I've been disgusted with myself this entire time. Father is literally having us break one of His commandments for what? Petty revenge? What happened to "love thy neighbor"? Did Lucifer wound His pride so severely that He's forgotten how to act?
And the worst thing about all this is that I am powerless to stop it. As it is, if anyone found out I was questioning His will, I might as well be joining the brothers in Cocytus. I'm already on thin ice as it is due to me keeping vital information about the brothers from Him before and during the war.
And somebody has to take care of Luke. I don't trust the others to keep him from harm's way. They'd exploit his innocence for their own selfish needs, and I won't allow that to happen.
So I've kept my objections to myself. Through Michael's training, through my return to the Devildom to deliver the message to Diavolo about "Raphael's" arrival, and through this stupid meeting in the prince's home office. In His eyes, I'm behaving like the perfect angel, blindly doing what I'm told.
And then I made the mistake of making eye contact with Zephyr. It's only momentary, and yet time seems to slow down to a crawl.
I can't have them disappointed in me. We didn't talk a whole lot during my initial visit, but I know that they have a strong moral compass. They'd reject me if they found out that I kept this from them.
Before I can question my emotions too much, the meeting ends, and the six of us--Michael, Lucifer, Diavolo, Barbatos, Zephyr, and myself--walk out of the office and make our way down the hallway. Zephyr and I trail behind the others.
I have to move quickly. Before I change my mind and before anyone notices.
There's a nearby door that's slightly ajar. Perfect.
I quickly grab Zephyr and drag them inside the room, making sure to reposition the door back to where it was as to not cause suspicion. The second they make noise, I cover their mouth with my hand. Their eyes widen as I begin listening for returning footsteps.
Thankfully, no one comes to investigate.
"Will you remain quiet if I remove my hand?" I whisper urgently. Zephyr nods their head. Sure enough, they don't begin screaming for help when I let go.
"Good sheep," I murmur, mentally smacking myself when I fully register what left my mouth. Zephyr remains silent. This room is rather small. Did I shove the two of us in a closet?
Oh, this isn't good. I can already feel myself begin heating up, and I'm pretty sure it's not just due to the cramped space we're in.
"Listen carefully, because I'm only going to be able to say this once," I quietly tell them. Another nod. "It's a trap. They're not getting pardoned. You have to do everything in your power to convince them to stay here." Zephyr tilts their head and looks contemplatively at me. Are they questioning my intentions?
A moment later, they softly smile at me.
"Don't doubt yourself," they whisper softly. "You're doing the right thing." They gently push the door open again, allowing me to leave the room first.
I needed to hear that.

Got any ideas for Lizzie and Joel shenanigans? Before or after they’re dating? <3<3<3
Lizzie spots a familiar brown-green haired boy in the distance and immediately jumps up from the spot she's been sitting on for the past 4 hours, ignoring the way her legs numbed from the sitting for too long.
Why did she have to wait 4 hours for him? Well, they'll have to blame it on their awkward confession to each other.
It was Lizzie who has blurted out her feelings first, followed by Joel who somehow thought confessing was a competition and that he lost by not giving Lizzie the best confession ever first.
He shortly got smacked on the head for that, lovingly. The daughter of Neptune expected that sort of lightheartedness from him, but she still couldn't help but scold him for it.
It was then followed by Venus personally visiting them before they could even share their first anything as boyfriend and girlfriend. That, although Venus was nothing but Lizzie's ancestor, the goddess still held her descendant in high regards.
Which was why Joel was suddenly dragged off somewhere. To have his 'right of passage'. To see if he was worthy of the daughter of Neptune. (Lizzie genuinely cannot remember such a thing happening with the other Venus children, but then again, it was the Venus children that were being confessed to not the one confessing. Lizzie being the one to initiate was probably baffling to the goddess of beauty and love, who wanted Lizzie to be held in high honor by being the one who is being chased, not the one chasing.)
So, out of worry and also curiosity for the aftermath, Lizzie took it upon herself to not move at all from the entrance of camp in order to wait for Joel. Gods know how relieved and genuinely happy she was when she saw a familiar figure finally come through.
"You're back!" Lizzie ran up to Joel with a big smile on her face.
Joel paused briefly in surprise before relaxing at the realization that it was just the daughter of Neptune. Hesitatingly, he opened his arms wide and Lizzie smiled wider. Although she didn't really plan to, she took the invitation and sped up her jog, jumping to engulf the other demigod in a hug.
They giggled in each other's arms for a while before it got embarrassing after a while and they pulled away flustered. It was then that Lizzie was finally able to look at Joel properly, completely caught off-guard.
"Is it just me or did you get... Pretty?"
Joel grinned and puffed out his chest, "Why, thank you, Lizzie. I know I've always been pretty."
Lizzie deadpanned at him and reached out to swipe her thumb over Joel's eyes. He whined as the girl inspected the black ink on her thumb, "This is... Mascara and eyeliner?" She muttered and flashed an inquiring look at Joel, "What exactly were you doing with my.... great, great, great, greatest grandma?"
Joel rubbed off the messed up trail Lizzie's thumb left behind with an annoyed look, "Look, I wish I knew, but she just kept giving me a makeover over and over again without explaining anything at all. She didn't even give me actual tests. She only let me go by the 20th outfit I put on."
They both stared at each other questioningly like they were expecting each other to know Venus' reasons for dragging him away.
"....Did she find me too tacky for you to date?" Joel asked seriously, making the pink haired girl laugh out loud, "Maybe?"
Joel pouted at that, his eyebrows furrowing together to express his annoyance at that. The daughter of Neptune rolled her eyes fondly and grabbed Joel's hand to drag him further into camp, "We'll go shopping for clothes ourselves next time if you're so bothered about it."
Joel perked up at that, willingly letting the other drag him, "Shopping trip as a first date?"
Lizzie nodded bashfully, "Well, that's the idea, isn't it?"

Why, Who, What, Where, When, and How - FWB Raphael x Tav
The saga continues...
[The First Prompt][The Prequel]
---
“Have you seen your companions lately?”
Tav’s brow twitched, but she did not open her eyes from where her head reclined upon the edge of the bath.
It was a new development to their routine, one that transpired a few visits ago; after engaging in pleasurable activities, rather than excuse herself from the Devil’s Den in a rough state of undress, she’d managed to add in a bath before her departure.
At the time of announcing her intentions and drawing her initial bath, Tav had fully expected her fiend-with-benefits to be the first to leave; their business was concluded, and he had other affairs to attend to - more lives to ruin. But, under the guise of not trusting her to remain in the room unattended, Raphael instead summoned his business to him with a snap of his fingers.
‘Business’ took the form of letters, and the devil took to quietly executing his plans at the nearby writing desk.
And so it was that Tav came to be soaking in her bath of steaming, floral-scented water while listening to the sounds of a quill scratching parchment. It was during these periods of companionship where there would be what she had taken to calling the Occasionals: the occasional watching of his profile while he worked, the occasional feeling of eyes on her skin as she washed her hair and cleaned body, and the occasional question (from her or him) to disrupt what she deemed to be comfortable silence.
“My friends?” Tav asked, frowning somewhat. “Why do you ask?”
“Do you not like conversation, Little Mouse?”
An eye opened to peek at the devil. Raphael looked no different than he had when she checked minutes ago; he was partially leaned forward, hovering over desk and letters both. The movements of his writing hand were fluid and graceful as he scrawled sharp words with a sharp quillpoint.
“I do,” she answered, slightly suspicious - it’s not like she could help it. “Forgive me for being wary that a devil wants to know how my friends are doing.”
“You are insinuating too much,” Raphael admonished with a glance. “I simply asked if you’d seen them recently.”
“Fair enough.” Tav appraised him for a moment longer but felt appeased enough to close her dubious eye. ”I saw Wyll the other day - got dinner together at the Elfsong. I don’t think he likes his job as duke very much.” She snickered. “He’s hoping I can come up with a convincing idea for sick leave so we can possibly adventure together again. Strangely, he didn’t seem keen on any of my brilliant ideas. Mind you, they were ideas that would actually make him ill…”
“He had feelings for you at one time, did he not?”
Two dubious eyes opened, and her head slowly lifted away from the bath’s edge. “How did you know that?”
The corner of Raphael’s mouth that she could see briefly curved upwards, and Tav could not tell if it was a smile or a smirk.
“I have my ways,” he said, a response that hardened her stare. “Anyone else? The cleric? The Harper?”
“Shadowheart wrote me a letter saying she would be visiting the city in a month’s time, and Jaheira’s been gone a while to rebuild the Harpers. Her whole family chased after her.”
Raphael appeared to only be half listening. “The druid? Have you seen him recently at all?”
There was enough of an edge to the way he said ‘druid’ that caused Tav to wonder if…
“Halsin?” she asked, softening her expression in preparation for an impromptu performance.
“Mm.”
“I wish!” Tav breathed wistfully as she plucked a flower petal that floated nearby. She brought the stray red petal to tickle the tip of her nose. “He’s good company - I’d love to catch up and learn all that’s happened since our victory. Last I knew, he’s helping orphans.”
Her brows raised as if struck by a thought. “Actually, Raphael, I’m curious - in all your years, have you ever seen such an elf? I’ve never before crossed paths with an elf so handsome, tall and strong!”
Though she couldn’t discern smirk from smile, Tav could identify the sneer overtaking his profile. It was also easy to read that Raphael’s writing hand was moving less gracefully and marginally more… aggressively.
Tav turned around to show him her back as she crossed her arms on the bath’s edge. Her cheek came to rest upon the pillow of her wet skin. “Seeing as how you knew about Wyll, I’m sure you also know about Halsin’s interest in me as well.”
Halsin’s proposition never led anywhere; she’d gently turned him down and he’d taken her rejection in stride. When bringing up his offer to Astarion later in the night, the pale elf laughed and gave him her blessing to experience the escapade regardless.
How Raphael would have reacted was increasingly apparent.
What was definitely a smile tugged her lips. “As for Lae’zel, I haven’t-”
“Did you take advantage of his interest, my dear?” There was a distinct note of jealousy flavoring the devil’s voice. Writing had paused, and Tav could feel his eyes burning into her back. “Were you to meet again, would you find yourself in his arms or in his bedroll made of twigs, fur and leaves?”
“I wouldn’t, no. He’s not my type.”
“And what is your type? Not-as-tall, not-as-strong elves? How is your beloved vampire spawn?”
Nettled by his callous delivery and mention of Astarion, Tav spun around in the water to see Raphael halfway twisted in his seat to regard her - his face full of disdain.
“I wouldn’t know, Raphael,” she said, dropping her act of airy ambivalence and favoring irritation as she waded over to leave the bath. She carefully stepped out, and her hand snatched a plush red (cherry perfumed) towel that was waiting for her on the top step. “We parted ways after our victory.”
“Why?”
“Because he could tell I was interested in someone else,” she retorted while hastily wiping herself down.
Before the towel was thrown over her head to dry her face and damp hair, she caught Raphael’s sneer deepening, as if he’d already decided that ‘someone else’ was someone so horrid as The Emperor - who was (by all accounts) dead.
“Oh? Who?”
After some seconds, Tav yanked the towel down to glower at the devil. “You, you ass.”
She dropped the cloth, uncaring of lingering droplets, and moved to go collect her clothes from where they were scattered around the room - beginning with her small clothes that weren’t too far from the writing desk. From there, the trail of her attire led to the exit.
“To answer your question of ‘what’ - I said, I’m interested in you,” Tav groused whilst furiously putting pants on. “I think, per the question of ‘where’, that’s fairly obvious. ‘When?’ Unfortunately, I’d have to say moments after our supposedly fated introduction… ‘How?’” Once her tunic was thrown over her head, she paused to think on it. “Well, I have no answer to the ‘how’ aside from me being an absolute idiot.”
Her boots were being pulled on when Raphael’s chair scooted across the floor. She glanced at where he stood to see mild amusement around his eyes.
“Then is it correct of me to assume you do not have arrangements with any other?” he asked.
She should have turned and left; it wasn’t his business whether or not she did have arrangements with anyone else. What the two of them had was strictly for pleasure (and company), and it was that idiotic fancy of hers that fantasied a future where they were anything more.
His jealousy didn’t often bother her - per say; envy was nothing but a byproduct of his fiendish nature, however it served as a reminder that Raphael only cared about her past and possibly-present dalliances because he liked to possess people and things.
Which is what she was.
Just another soul he was entertaining himself with…
“That is correct,” Tav said haughtily. “And if I knew what was good for me, I would rethink this arrangement.”
“If it comes to that, don’t hurt your pretty little head thinking about it too hard.” At the face she made, Raphael chuckled. “Should I expect to see you in a few days’ time for our next appointment?”
Tav raised her chin. “Probably. Because we’ve already established that I’m an idiot.”
“Will you stop calling yourself that, my dear?”
“No promises,” she muttered, her stomach fluttering on her way to the door. “Until next time, Raphael, and just know that, after tonight, you’re definitely not invited to the reunion...”
Snap!
The door magically locked itself as her hand reached for the handle, and Tav’s head snapped to glare at the devil who smiled wickedly.
“Reunion you say?”
Fuck.

Tumblr media
“I know, I know. Now if everyone calmly collects themselves and follow me I have a plan.”
~~~
“Okay Ross let’s hear your plan” Tony says as Ross leads them all into a different room.
“Hold on, okay here’s what we’ll do. We’ll break her out!”
“…Really? You made us move all the way into the basement just to say that? And by the way we have already thought about it but Y/n’s being kept on the second to last level so breaking her out won’t be easy” Tony rolls his eyes at the man.
“Oh…”
“Yep” Tony says popping the P.
The room goes quiet, all of them trying to find a way to get Y/n out of the Raft when Thor spoke up.
“Loki.”
“Huh?”
“We use Loki, he’s quite fond of Lady Y/n so we get him to shape shift as a guard, he gets Y/n, turn her invisible and she’s out!”
“Thor, you’re a genius my friend!” Tony says kissing the man on the cheeks.
“Don’t ever do that again.” Making everyone laugh at Thor’s reaction.
“Only problem is where is your brother?” Fury asks.
“Don’t worry I’ll get him here, as soon as he knows she’s alive he’ll come”
Tumblr media
At first Loki tried being a pain in everyone’s backside and like Thor suspected as soon as he heard that Y/n was alive he came straight away.
“And you’re only just telling me this now brother?”
“We had more important things to worry about Loki”
“She was my friend, you should have told me” It’s true, they were friends. She didn’t like what he did when they first met but overtime he proved to be just like her, a puppet in someone else’s game. They bonded when he was locked up, she always went to visit him. Steve and Fury lost count of how many times they told her to stay away. When he found out she died he didn’t speak to anyone for months, he would create these illusions of the pair talking away until their hearts were content then when he snapped out of it, he would cry till he passed out. Waking up he’ll do it all over again.
“I know, I’m sorry I should of told you”
“All is forgiven dear brother, now what’s the plan to get my sweet pumpkin out of hell?”
Going over the plan, Loki being completely on board with it, they left the tower.
Tumblr media
“Phase one is completed” Loki spoke through the comms.
“Phase two is completed” He spoke again.
“Phase three is compl-“
“You don’t have to say that every phase is completed, just let us know when you’ve got Y/n and when you’re on your way out”. Steve cut him off.
“Someone’s moody” A slight pause “Phase four is completed” Loki rushed out laughing.
Despite their initial annoyance to him being…well Loki, they started to worry when they couldn’t hear anything after a while.
“Loki? Everything going okay?” Thor asked.
“Bloody hell don’t do that again! I nearly fell down the stairs!” They all couldn’t help but laugh at the image of him falling.
“Sorry, just wanted to check in”
“I’m nearly there, oh and by the way phase 47 is completed”
“Phase 47?”
“Yes, there’s a lot of doors and people for me to get through”
“Try and hurry up”
“Don’t rush me Winter”
“Don’t cal-“ Bucky tries to speak but ended up being cut off by Steve.
“Don’t argue, but Loki hurry up”
Tumblr media
Y/n had only been back in her cell for less than an hour before the locks clicked, “No more” she whispered into the darkness.
“Oh Lord. Sweet girl what have they done to you?” With a blurry vision all she could see the outline of a guard slowly approaching towards her, she tried so desperately to scoot backwards away from him but not quite quick enough due to her being so tired and the pain she was experiencing.
“No more” She whispered again.
“No,no,no sweet pumpkin it’s me look” Shifting back into himself “It’s me, your friend Loki”
“L-L-Loki?”
“Yes it’s me, don’t worry everything will be okay I promise”
“Ho-how are you here?” His heart smashed in his chest at how broken she sounded, in the years he was truly blessed to have known her she always sounded strong, confident - even in his illusions she was never…broken.
“I’m here to get you out my sweet pumpkin, okay? Me and you are going to run off into the sunset and eat as many donuts as we can just like we planned, let’s get you home”
“C-collar nee-needs to come off”
Getting the metal contraption off was easy for him, “Brother… we will need to get her medical attention”
“How bad is it?”
“I-I wouldn’t of recognised her if it wasn’t for her bird tattoo”
Loki hears the team mutter incoherently in the background but he continues “I’m bringing her out now, be with you shortly”
Lifting her up slowly so he doesn’t catch any of the open wounds littering her small frame, he tries to take a step back with his hands in hers, she stumbles. “I’ll need to pick you up sweet pumpkin, oh and turn you invisible - you’re okay with that? Of course you are” he rambled nervously.
He must of looked like a looney as he walks through the corridors of the ultra-maximum security prison with his arms out in front of him and ever so often he would look down and smile softly to what people could see was nothing.
“Almost there sweet pumpkin” He whispered, smiling at her as she responded with a weak nod.
How he managed to pull it off without being detected was lost on the team, but seeing him walk out of the prison then shifting back to himself and making Y/n visible again, they couldn’t stop smiling, that was until the pair got close enough for them to see the damages done to their friend.
Tumblr media
*2 weeks later*
The swelling to Y/n’s face had gone down, her wounds were healing nicely, thanks to the serum and Helen - who burst into tears at seeing her alive, Y/n always made sure that Helen always had a fresh cup of coffee at the beginning off her shift and always brought her, her favourite muffin, she would always come in to the medical bay just to sit and talk or just watch as Helen worked. They had a great friendship, and when Y/n ‘died’ Helen saw her ghost everywhere.
And Bucky, well he point blanked refused to leave her side.
They agreed to let Fury question her, Tony wanted to but he couldn’t stop crying every time he laid his eyes on her.
“Birdie, can you tell me who did this to you?”
“Members of SHIELD, random people”
They collectively gasped at her words. “What, what do you mean?”
“The warden was charging people to have their way with me”
“Birdie, did anyone r-ra-“ Fury hated having to try and ask her that, he couldn’t even get the word out.
“No. They just beat me”
“You said agents of SHIELD took part?”
“Members. Agents and bosses they paid 300 bucks to get their revenge for what I did”
They couldn’t believe what they were hearing, they believed every word coming out of her mouth - whenever she lied her nose twitched and the longer she had to lie for she would end up in a sneezing fit. A reason why she was never told about any birthday party surprises.
“There’s something else, the reason I’m being branded as a traitor is because… the President is a high level member of Hydra”
“Y/n that’s some serious accusation…”
“It’s the truth Fury, he came to the base I was kept and had a member of his staff be injected with my blood, he died. And then he came to see me in the Raft, I’m telling the truth”
“Jesus Christ, what are we going to do?” Bruce muttered from the back of the room, too scared to get close enough to his friend.
“Expose him and Birdie I believe you, I do but first we need more information about anything you can remember”
“I never killed anyone else other than the agents, even though they brainwashed and ordered me to do it I never did! I was able to get away with it until I was ordered to kill the Presidents mistress, I couldn’t do it Fury she was pregnant. I faked her death like all the others, I got her away and went back but-but a few days later I was being dragged into the play room and I was tortured, they showed me photos of her, they had killed her. Th-the baby didn’t even stand a chance.”
Before Fury could say anything Bucky spoke up “That’s enough for today”
Fury agrees, each member including Loki leaves her and Bucky, kissing her head as they leave.
“I-I’m sorry Bucky”
“What for doll?”
“For not being able to carr-“
“Hey stop that okay! And you shouldn’t ever apologise, not with me anyway” He places a lingers kiss to her temple “How about you get some more rest? King T’Challa will be here soon my love”
Exiting her room, leaving the light dimmed Bucky made his way to the living room where everyone was waiting.
“This is bad. So fucking bad! We can’t just walk up to the President and ask him if he’s a member of Hydra.” Bruce says as he pulls on his hair.
“She’s not lying though”
“I know James bu-“
“Bruce does have a point…” Nat agrees.
“We’ll think of something, we always do. When did T’Challa say he’ll be here?” Tony asks Bucky.
“Soon, he’s bringing Nakia and Shuri” Bucky sits down next to Wanda “I’ve also never heard a royal swear before so that’s new”
“He swore?”
“Oh yeah. When I told him Y/n was alive and gave him the run down of things and well let’s just put it this way, he’d give Y/n a run for her money” In what feels like forever they all laugh.
Tumblr media
The next morning Y/n wakes up with her hand tightly grasped in Bucky’s, his head resting on her thigh, the sun peaking through the curtain casting a orangey hue that danced along his hair, for the first time in over six years she smiles. Smiles at how peaceful he looks as he’s far away in dreamland, it always amazed her how so much younger he looks when he’s asleep. The memories of either one of them creeping into the others bed after a bad dream, or falling asleep on the couch together after another movie marathon, come back full force.
“Are you watching me sleep?” His eyes were still shut, and his voice laced with sleep.
“Yes”
“Pervert” He chuckles.
“Morning sleepy dino nugget” She says as she runs her fingers softly through his hair, lightly laughing at him when he practically purrs when she scratches his head.
“I’ve missed this, missed you” Bright piercing blue eyes flutter open, already gazing at her.
“Me too” Y/n confesses “I meant what I said that day, you know when I tried to kill you, you’re the one that makes me stronger Buck”
“Doll you didn’t try and kill me, not to sound corny but I died the same day you did. I lost you and by losing you, I lost myself.”
“I didn’t want that to happen Buckaroo, you should of continued to live a full, happy life”
“How could I Y/n/n you was gone, dead from either the bullet or the rubble…”
“Cmon now Buck you know the way I want to die”
“Eating way too many donuts that my heart packs in, and if that’s not how I die - I don’t want it” They speak in unison, both smile at each other before bursting out laughing.
“You’ve finally come back to me” Bucky breaths softly as his heart thumps loudly in his chest.
“I’ll always come back to you Buck, always”
He knows he shouldn’t, not yet, not like this but he can’t help himself. He leans in, his eyes darting from hers and down to her lips, he notices her doing the same…
Just as their lips are about to touch, Shuri bursts through the door.
“Y/n… it’s really you! T’Challa it’s really her!” The young princess screams in pure joy.
“Princ-“
“I have told you before, don’t call me that. You are my friend. Oh it’s so great to see you again” Shuri rambles as she climbs into the bed next to Y/n. “Look I still have my necklace that you made me, I have never once took it off, always next to my heart” Pulling out the purple, blue and yellow lace that showed many different coloured beads coming in all shapes and sizes.
Y/n remembered that day she made it for the Princess, Shuri had just completed what was deemed the undoable task of removing Bucky’s programming and since she didn’t want anything in return Y/n went to one of the market stalls and brought beads and a charm. One of the children there had showed her how to braid the three different coloured laces together. The charm was a circle and had a word perfectly designed in the middle of it. When she asked the woman who ran the stall what the word was, she new she had to get it. Friend.
When Y/n gave Shuri the box she was a nervous wreck, it’s not everyday she was able to give a princess a handmade gift, and it wasn’t everyday she was able to make a princess cry.
Shuri opened the box and burst out crying.
Their friendship blossomed even more from that day onwards.
“R-really?” She asked.
“Of course! You are my friend, my first ever friend that didn’t use me for their own gain so of course I still wear it!”
“I still beat you sister” A voice that brought a smile to Y/n lips.
“You’re never going to let me live that down are you?”
“No, no I won’t. It is so good to see you, my dear friend”
“I’ve missed you, King T’Challa”
“No need for formalities Y/n.” Rolling his eyes at her.
“Wait why does he beat Shuri?” Bucky had to ask as he was so confused.
“Did she not tell you?” When T’Challa receives a head shake he laughs “You see, Y/n and I were training together and because I was winning she turned to cheating. She bit me, look I still have a scar nine years on” Showing Bucky the scar of teeth marks on his arm.
“In my defence that could of been anyone’s doing and he just blamed me because he was the one that was cheating, he pointed off to the side and said ‘donuts’ so I looked and next thing I know is I’m on the ground…” The whole house filled with laughter, the team laughing at her antics and the knowledge that she bit a King and live to tell the tale was quite amusing to them.
Tumblr media
After many more hours of taking a trip down memory lane it was time for Y/n to leave.
T’Challa had told Bucky that she always had a home in Wakanda and they all agreed it was the best place for her, for the time being.
With heavy hearts and tears in their eyes they all hugged her, holding tighter than ever before they said their goodbyes.
“Don’t bother saying bye to me doll, I’m coming with you”
“What? Really? Buck are you sure?”
“I have never been more sure in my life, let’s go home sweetheart”
Trigger Warning: Mentions of blood
Tumblr media
I trotted hurriedly through the office, feeling like I was already far too deep into whatever the mess Jade, Floyd, and Azul were all working with was.
I was already having to deal with the police since they’d come today wanting to talk to Jade about his resemblance to the supposed criminal ‘Mr. Floyd.’ And for all I knew, maybe Floyd was a criminal and I was aiding and abetting by not reporting him everytime he came for a visit.
After all, he was all too frequently at least mildly injured when he came by for a visit and I knew he was involved without whatever shady business Jade and Azul were doing.
No matter what, I was almost positive that while I’d initially thought that getting hired as Jade’s receptionist was a lucky break, in reality it was anything but. Even if it had led to me meeting and getting to know Jade.
At this point, I was who knew how close to tripping into what was likely some very dangerous grounds, and yet here I was rushing to get to Jade’s office and let him know what was going on.
After all, Azul could probably only keep the police held up for so long, and I wasn’t about to leave Jade hanging.
Besides, at least with what I was doing right now, I could plead innocent. After all, I was just doing my job as a receptionist and letting Jade know he had visitors.
I burst through the door, half out of breath with definitely frazzled nerves as I looked up. Ready to rush through a hasty warning to Jade about the police’s presence only to stare in dull shock at what was in front of me.
Because rather than seeing Jade looking up at me politely from behind his desk, I was staring at Floyd and Jade, who were both staring back at me in blatant surprise. Though, to Jade’s name, he recovered fairly quickly as a wide grin spread across Floyd’s face and he waved casually, like we were meeting on a street and he wasn’t a wanted man, “Heya Shrimpy~”
I straightened, swiftly stepping the rest of the way into the room and pulling the door shut behind me without ever looking back as I all but glowered at both of them, “What are you doing here?”
Jade sighed slightly while Floyd laughed, and both of them started talking at the same time.
“Y/n-”
“Shrimpy’s mad~”
I felt my left eye twitch, “The police are here because they deduced that you two have a connection. Azul is holding them up in the waiting room, but they want to talk to you, Jade.”
It was like I’d flipped a switch, and both men fell silent. Floyd’s expression going from one of humor to one of annoyance, while Jade merely pressed his lips together.
But both of them realized what a sticky situation this was since Floyd was here.
If the police decided they needed to search the building, them finding Floyd would be all too easy, and there was no denying that the two men were practically identical mirror images of each other.
Even if Floyd got away, Jade would no doubt be taken in on suspicion of aiding and abetting for questioning, at the very least. And even if he managed to slide his way through that with his silver tongue, one test would be all it would take to prove they were related.
And then we would well and truly be in one deep mess.
And that was assuming Jade didn’t just flee with Floyd, though that would certainly seal the deal as well.
“Y/n, can you stay here and take care of Floyd’s injuries while I handle them?” It wasn’t often that I got to see Jade wear that cold expression, and I felt myself nod wordlessly. Stepping to the side to let him go out even as I turned, letting my worried gaze follow him as he strolled forward.
“Be careful,” My words came out surprisingly soft, but evidently enough he heard me considering the way he paused in front of me. His mismatched gaze flickering my way and a half-amused smile almost crept onto his face before he continued on his way. Shutting the door behind him as I turned to look at Floyd. Crossing my arms as I looked at the young man who wore a deep frown on his face.
And unlike with Jade, where I had seen him wear that serious look on brief occasions, I’d never seen Floyd look like this.
I walked over to where the now moody young man sat though, before I picked up some of the bandages, “So what was it this time?”
It was the same question I usually asked him when I ended up bandaging him, and he usually would spin me some sort of whimsical, if slightly worrying, excuse.
But this time there was no lightness to his tone as he glowered at the door and answered in a distinctly blunt tone, “Carews was stirring up trouble, so I met up with him. He’s probably to blame for the cops being here.”
I felt my eyebrows arch at the name that I recognized. He’d been calling the office almost daily, constantly wanting to talk to Jade even though he knew how busy we kept the schedule.
“So he knows about the relationship between you and Jade?” I maintained my calm as I quietly questioned him, and I felt Floyd’s gaze shift so that it rested on me.
He bent forward, looking me in the eye and forcing me to stop in my work as he eyed me, “You sure you want to know? I thought you’d decided curiosity really would kill the cat?”
I frowned at him, my shift in expression causing him to grin as I shook my head, “I imagine I’m already ‘in too deep,’ as you put it.”
He chuckled, the sound almost making me roll my eyes fondly even as he spoke in his usual sing-songy tone, “So long as you know~”
I hummed in response, half-impressed by how quickly Floyd’s mood could change as I focused on wrapping the bandage. I felt myself frown, though, as my thoughts inevitably drifted to Jade and what he was dealing with right now, “Do you think Jade’ll be alright?”
Floyd’s hand landed on my head, causing me to glance up at him in honest surprise as he shook his head amusedly, “I wouldn’t worry about him, Shrimpy. Jade’s got a better lie dance than anyone I’ve ever met.”
I snorted, smiling despite both myself and the situation, “And yet even I can tell when he’s keeping a secret.”
Floyd outright grinned at me, “But that’s why we like you, ya’ see? You’re a fun one, Shrimpy. Not like the rest of the guppies.”
The fond words that were cooed at me with blatant affection. But I didn’t let myself overly ponder that as I blinked up at him. Doing my best to remain unimpressed even as I finished my work and read between the lines of his statement, “So if I was like the rest of the ‘guppies’ I wouldn’t be having to deal with both you and your brother right now?”
Floyd’s eyes were all alight now, “You definitely wouldn’t have gotten my bid for hire. I’ll say that.”
I blinked, my eyes widening slightly before I realized exactly how much that made sense, and I crossed my arms, frowning up at him, “Are you saying you’re the reason I got hired and that Jade just did as you said?”
“How hurtful. I would’ve picked you out even if he hadn’t cast his vote,” I twisted to look back at Jade as he came back in, his footsteps somehow silent as he looked at me with a faux pout on his face.
“Shake the cops already, huh?” Floyd’s tone was almost bored as he looked towards his brother, who merely smiled with unconcealed smugness.
“Azul’s finishing up, but yes. It wasn’t particularly hard since everyone knows that I’ve been here at work while you’ve been out and about causing trouble,” Jade looked positively pleased with himself, and I felt myself smile.
Oddly relieved, even though I knew perfectly well that the police had actually been on the right path until he’d shaken them.
It almost made me wonder what other horrible ways my views had shifted because of these two. Demons that they were.
My thoughts were interrupted though as Floyd’s arms wrapped around my shoulders and pulled me back towards me. Startling me slightly even as he pouted against my shoulder, “You could’ve taken a little longer. I was having fun with Shrimpy.”
Jade hummed, his amused gaze flickering between Floyd’s pouty expression and my sighing face, “And sacrifice my dear receptionist to you for any longer than necessary? I’m not that cruel, Floyd.”
Floyd snorted, and I braced for his choice commentary only for Jade to continue with a mere flick of his long fingers, “Now give them back, Floyd.”
I blinked slightly at Jade’s words, only for my surprise to grow even further as Floyd muttered something that I couldn’t quite catch and let me go.
Jade held out his hand to me with a smile, watching amusedly as I accepted it and let him pull me to my feet before I glanced back at Floyd in a mixture of surprise and confusion before I frowned and glanced back towards Jade, “I feel I should state that I’m not yours.”
Floyd outright laughed at me, causing me to frown his way even as Jade chuckled, “Well, of course not. But even you have to admit that satisfaction does keep bringing you back even though you know what a dangerous game you’re playing.”
I looked his way with arched eyebrows, ignoring the way my hand continued to rest comfortably in his, “Who's to say that it isn’t my job and salary that’s bringing me back?”
Jade sighed, his acting rather over-the-top as he shook his head before he met my gaze once more with a perfectly villainous grin, “Then I suppose I’ll just have to do better, won’t I?”
I snorted, shaking my head slightly at him even as Floyd grinned, his voice drawing my gaze back his way as he stood, “And on that note, I’mma leave. See ya’ next time, Shrimpy.”
I nodded, pulling my hand from Jade’s to wave farewell even as Floyd vaulted out the window. Leaving me to sigh and wonder exactly how long his bandages would last with that kind of activity.
I glanced over as I felt Jade’s hand lightly touch my shoulder, only to see him smiling amusedly at me, “Can I take this to mean that you’ll be staying for a while yet despite my brother and I’s antics?”
I hummed, not bothering to keep my own amusement out of my voice as I turned to face him more fully, “Well, I can’t get better pay anywhere else, and I guess I’m still at least a little bit curious about the strange case of Dr. Jade and Mr. Floyd.”
Jade’s grin split, his sharp teeth glinting slightly in the lamplight as he bowed slightly, “Then I shall have to do my very best to keep your interest up then.”
I grinned at him, “Best of luck then, Doctor.”
He straightened, far-too-pleased with himself as his gaze held mine, “And to you as well, my dear. I do hope our relationship continues to be a long one.”
And though I certainly wasn’t about to tell him, I couldn’t help but agree with his words. Even despite the risks.
After all, I knew him, Floyd, and Azul would all look out for me once I got in too deep.
ross request 👀
basically y/n is friends with adam & carly and they’ve been trying to set them up for months with ross but something always happens (someone is sick, touring, etc.) but finally ross & y/n meet and it’s basically a match made in heaven
Adams Bestfriend
warnings: ☁️ v fluffy, babies if you consider them a warning!
A/N: this is soooo freaking cute
Tumblr media
You had been a close friend of Carly's for many years, naturally becoming close with Adam over the years too. The pair having you over for any movie nights, dinners and outings. You loved nothing more than third wheeling the pair, and when their sweet baby came you practically clung to the couple even more. The two of them adored you and the way you were with their son. It was initially Adams idea to introduce you to Ross after hearing you complain to Carly all night about how terrible your date was, you had called Carly half way through asking her to come and bail you out which she gladly obliged, and after hours of venting, crying and getting wine drunk with Carly you fell asleep on their sofa bundled up in a blanket, head resting in Carly's lap. Adam sat next to Carly quietly chatting as she stroked through your hair. "Do you know who I think would be really good for her?" Carly's eyebrows raise as she looks at her husband with a quizzical look on her face "Ross..." suddenly her face lights up, eyes practically gleaming, "holy shit that's the best idea you've ever had!"
That was over a year ago now, the pair had tried numerous times to get you and Ross in a room together but to no avail, several plans had been foiled, neither of you actually knowing Adam and Carly's true intentions. You were supposed to meet at Christmas, but Ross had to cancel to see his brother. Then again for dinner at Easter but you double booked with your parents, and more and more occasions just like it, either one of you was sick or the both of you double booked, it was a complete disaster. But the one time you did finally meet was completely by mistake, Ross was round Adam and Carly’s babysitting for them, when you unexpectedly dropped by having forgotten your purse when you were visiting a couple days earlier.
You knock on their front door tapping in a singsong manner fully expecting to see Carly’s beautiful head of curls answer the door, only to be completely blindsided by a tall dark handsome stranger, you knew to be one of Adam’s friends answering. He was clutching onto baby Hann whilst he screamed bloody murder looking very distressed as he looked at you confused. “Hi, I’m y/n, Carly’s friend, I left my purse here the other night and was coming to get it but if it’s a bad ti-“ Ross cuts you off almost in a pleading notion “Y/n! Yeah They’ve mentioned you a bunch of times, come in, I think I’ve seen a purse in the living room” he sidesteps out the way to let you into the house, you slip off your shoes knowing Adam’s strict ‘no shoes on my carpet’ policy. You can’t help but wince at the screeching sound of the babies cries as Ross helplessly bounces him trying to get him to calm down. You spot your purse in an instant but the maternal instinct in you has you reaching out for baby Hann. “Are you okay?” You ask softly, trying not to pry but feeling genuinely concerned not only for the baby but for Ross’s sanity, knowing how stressful it can be the times you’ve looked after the baby not knowing of you’re doing things right, sometimes reassurance is needed. Ross sighs and turns to you fully, it’s now that you take him in fully, he looked tired, his hair was falling out of his bun, his shirt was wrinkled probably from holding the baby against him most the day, and his forehead was forming faint stress lines. “Uh, I’m not sure, I feel like I’ve tried everything and he won’t calm down, he’s not hungry, he doesn’t wanna play with any toys, I’ve tried listening to music, he doesn’t want me to sit down with him he doesn’t want me to be moving around, I just don’t know what to do” he lets out a deep breath he didn’t know he was holding, “here let me take over for a minute, you sit down” he would resist but the way you’re already two inches from him gently taking the baby from his grasp has him dizzy, so he takes a seat, he watches as you place the babies head on your shoulder holding around his back, patting his bum in a steady rhythm that has the baby soothed and falling asleep in a matter of minutes, “see, just exhausted” you give Ross a soft smile and join him sitting on the sofa next to him, “how the hell did you do that” he shakes his head laughing in disbelief “lots of practice, I have lots of nieces and nephews” you continue to sooth down the babies back as you settle down and get comfy on the sofa.
“So it’s nice to finally meet you” you smile staring across at the brunette who looks slightly more relaxed now. “Adam and Carls talk about me too? I hope you haven’t heard anything bad!” He winks at you, and you swear you feel a swarm of butterflies erupting through your stomach. “Nothing bad about you, Matty on the other hand…” you trail off as the baby stirs slightly, but you lull him back into his slumber by shushing and rocking him, Ross can’t help but admire you. “I really don’t know what I would have done if you hadn’t have shown up here, maybe started crying myself” he speaks in hushed tones and lets out a soft laugh. “Don’t be silly, you would been fine, he would have tired himself out anyway, it’s just stressful to listen to when they’re in that mood and nothing you’ve tried is working” you place your free hand on top of his, gliding your thumb across the knuckles, you couldn’t help yourself, you almost felt drawn to him. He looks down at the your hand and smiles, turning his hand in yours and giving it a squeeze, a sort of silent gratitude. The two of you being too comfortable to take your hands away so you just left them there and chatted for at least an hour and a half while baby Hann slept soundly on the comforts of your chest. You got to know the ins and outs of each other feeling as if you had known one another for years. You hadn’t noticed Ross shuffling closer to you, or more so you didn’t mind as he slipped an arm around your shoulder so the three of you were close while you spoke in hushed tones, and you definitely didn’t hear the front door clicking open, and the quiet footsteps of your friends coming home to greet their baby, when they stubbles in on a sight and a half. Their best friends huddled up on their sofa whilst their baby slept safely between the pair, the two of them giggling at something the other had said, a squeeze of the shoulder, a pat on the thigh, their faces were close, it was everything Adam and Carly had hoped for when they wanted them to meet. The sight being almost too cute break, but sadly Carly had mummy fever, and had to see her baby. “Well, well, well… what’s going on here then?!”
And at the sound of his mothers voice, and frankly saved by the bell, baby Hann awakens and emits his cries for his mother and hunger. Saving you an explanation, for now. The two of you clear your throats as you struggle to separate from each other, Adam finding the scene particularly humorous to watch. You had the baby over to Carly who coos at the baby calming him instantly making Ross shake his head in confusion, “I told you Ross, he’s a ladies man” Adam chuckles walking over to his friend and patting him on the back, judging by the fact that his hair was falling all over the place and you were the one holding the baby that Ross had been struggling. “Honestly mate, that was the hardest babysitting gig of my life, if Y/n hadn’t of shown up, me and jr would have been joining you at dinner”
You laugh and sigh shaking your head “you weren’t doing that bad, you just needed to pat, not bounce” you wink at him this time and you watch as his mouth falls agape. Adam pats his friends back in sympathy but laughs all the same. “Well, I guess I better get my purse and get going, it was lovely to see you guys, and nice to meet you Ross… finally” you say the last word pointedly to him directly, grabbing your things giving Carly a quick hug and kiss before heading down the hallway. You hear your name being called just as you reach the front door so you turn and see Ross taking long strides towards you.
“Hey y/n, um this may be strange as we only met today, but I was wondering if I could take you out sometime?” You can’t help the raging smile that appears on your face making your cheeks ache, you nod instantly “yeah, yes that would be nice” Ross leans down to give you a hug and you hear a muffled “yes! I knew it would work!” From Adam in the living room making you chuckle and nuzzle your face closer into Ross’s warm and welcoming chest.
