I have a theory that 2/3 of Crash 4 problems could be fixed if you just shrunk every level down by roughly 20%.

Reasons Discord's New Mobile Layout Update is Bad
The reply function is redundant, as most people are used to just holding down and tapping the reply option at the top. If they're going to change it, they shouldn't have gotten rid of the member list for this functionally bad option. It also doesnt line up with any other platform in terms of swipe direction.
The member list is gone from easy viewing
It doesnt auto open your last group chat/DM making multiple simultaneous conversations far more difficult and longer
It's already broken my app once (Locked all channels including other servers' to one channel. I could not access anything except that and my DMs.)
You can not see images that have been pinned in the pins tab.
The search function was fine before. Where did your before, during and after date search go??
All of Discord's individuality is disappearing.
Getting used to a mobile format actually impedes usage of the desktop format and likely discourages people from multiplatforming discord because theyre so used to the "intuitiveness" of the new "tailored for mobile" experience
There is no way to CHANGE IT BACK. This is like Tumblr rolling out Tumblr Live without any Disable button At All.
Why are they marketing midnight mode as Something fucking ENTIRELY new??? It has always been a feature on Android as the AMOLED theme???????
DARK MODE IS NO LONGER LOW CONTRAST AND DISCORD IS DEVOLVING INTO AN ACCESSIBILITY NIGHTMARE
Disable swipe-to-reply by activating full-screen Launchpad in Advanced Settings
Discord’s new layout is apparently permanent. Keep sending feedback and rating it one star on all appstores; if you get redirected to the advice article, double tap gove feedback.
If you, too, dislike the theme, head to settings (you can double tap your account picture) and go to Appearance, scroll to New Layout and Send Feedback.
Overall, what they've done is disorientate every single current user on discord, and you cannot avoid it unless you've not updated to the latest discord because this is not an update. It is a feature that has already been on the latest update and is being slowly rolled out, like Tumblr Polls.
Good Luck, and may we send as much feedback as possible and have them make it optional or at the least, revert it. I've already sent in at least seven complaints to discord, commented on their instagram post about the layout and I'm about one star review it on google play and app store.
This isnt just the appearance and vibes being off like the new (ish) app icon, this is a matter of functionality.

hiiiiiii!! (≧▽≦)(≧▽≦) could you do a simon cof x sweet, feminine reader headcannons? made my own headcannons to share with you because ily and i love this prompt(*´ω`*)
♡ i imagine reader and simon would go out, hes wearing the same crusty ass grey hoodie while shes dressed up all cute and pretty >.<
♡ he reeks of nicotine while she smells like neapolitan marshmallows<3 hes obsessed with her scent. he literally loves using her bodycare/haircare products over his 3 in 1 men shampoo (if he even showers that is) because he'd smell more like her.
♡ she shares absolutely everything of her purchases. she'd do little mini hauls to Simon, showcasing her new pink ballerina flats, sugarbunnies plushie she had to fight a war for in mercari, too faced chocolate bar palette, cute japanese stationary, and a lot of new clothes. Simon loves it. he loves seeing her happy. (may even buy her things he thinks she would love if he didn't have a smoking addiction<3)
♡ she doesnt only share that though she also loves talking his ears off about anything and everything<3 at first he was annoyed with her constant talking but when he spoke of it, she stopped talking so much and he got guilty and missed her overtalking. he tried to bring her spark back in talking and it worked
♡ shes compassionate and kind, understanding his struggles (but not condoning his actions) and helping him to get better. (he really wants to be saved by her but feels that he just cannot.)
♡ he really doesn't get why she's with him. Hes depressed, miserable, and difficult to be with. His low self esteem sometimes gets the best of him and he starts believing that he's not worthy of her, often leaving her on read, missing her calls, and ignoring her. (im sensing attachment issues) reader clutches w communication though :3
♡ they'd explore abandoned buildings. Simon's there to smoke blunts while readers there to get awesome fit pictures<3 they would go a long way travelling and reader the most practical girl you know has her feet hurt from walking on platforms. they either take lots of breaks or Simon just carries her on his back (unlikely)
♡ talk about taking fit pictures, Simon's technically her photographer. She has a blog where she posts fashion and besides the mirror pics, Simon's always the one taking the pictures. He's quite good at it too.
some of these headcannons probably won't work in his time but who cares(ㆁωㆁ) hope this prompt isnt that hard to write for..(ᗒᗩᗕ)you can always ignore if you want!! thankkkkkk you x3 xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxooxxooxoxoxox

WARNINGS; MENTIONS OF SMOKING, MENTIONS OF DEPRESSION
AUTHOR'S NOTE; WHOEVER REQUESTED THIS JUST KNOW I LOVE YOU!!! probably inaccurate for both the character and the timeline... listen, I don't know what swedish people were up to in 2012 leave me alone. also not very happy with this, still trying to figure out how to write Simon :3
Tumblr media
-he looks comically out of place in your room. just imagine a pastel pink room filled to the brim with cute plushies, shelves full of little trinkets and books, floral bedding and lace curtains. a wall full of movie posters, magazine pages, and little polaroids of your most treasured moments, and then there's a depressed smoke addict.
-you know those videos where it's a boyfriend sleeping in their girlfriend's girly room with a bunch of plushies on top of him? yeah, basically same situation.
-his sleep schedule is fucked up. either he pulls an all nighter or is passed out till 3 pm. when it's one of those times where Simon feels tired, you just let him sleep in your bed whilst you do whatever.
-it's also a great opportunity to gather the perfect pictures for black mailing.
-he just looks so stupid in your room I love him.
-doesn't care about your plushies but will learn to treat them nicely after you yelled at him for 15 minutes straight about how it's unacceptable to throw rilakkuma off the bed just so he could sit down.
-punches the plush when you aren't looking.
-he definitely gives you that pink hello kitty hoodie to wear. or he wears it instead so you two could match. that's probably your idea and he obliges because it's something you love and enjoy.
-really like the idea of him being your personal photographer. he's always the first to leave a like on whatever you post, especially if it's he who took the picture.
-doesn't know anyone besides you. his followings on social media just contain a bunch of his favorite bands and your account.
-a bit sad but I can see him borrowing your money (with permission) to buy cigarettes if his mother refuses to give him any. he wants to buy you stuff you might like but he's too busy spending it on his addiction :(
-he instead draws you your favorite characters so you can put it on the wall alongside your other pictures.
-has never been in the vicinity of a woman without being an awkward shit. moral of the story he doesn't know anything about girls. his knowledge of things is pretty vague, so please don't be surprised if you see him just poking around your vanity and asking a million different questions on what certain products do and why.
-his mother is very happy her son finally found a girlfriend. she approves of you and thinks you're an absolute sweetheart. always asks Simon when you will visit them again.
-you two definitely earn a few stares in public because how did such a sweet and pretty girl end up with a guy like Simon.
-it pisses him off endlessly but can't help his thoughts and feelings. thinks he doesn't deserve you or any of the kind shit you do for him.
-like nonnie said, he probably isn't the greatest boyfriend... there are times where he cancels your hang-outs without further explanation or simply doesn't acknowledge any of your calls and messages. he feels pretty shitty after it and apologizes for his behavior. you forgive him even though you both know he'll do it again.
-he is low-key obsessed with your smell, he smothers anything you have in the shower all over his body without caring what it's for, just simply reads the labels and puts it on... with big amounts. this man is making you go bankrupt. you could literally see the outline of his fingers left in the product..
-his camera is full of pictures of you, he likes looking at them when he feels down. which is pretty often.
-shows you all of his favorite places in Stockholm or even Kirkvile (where does this man live I don't get it) ones that aren't usually full of people, just overly adventurous teenagers from time to time. something tells you that you two have trespassed into private property multiple times but Simon doesn't want to answer that question clearly.
-ugh imagine clipping cute little hair clips into Simon's hair and he just lets you do whatever you want because if you're happy then he is happy and he wants to see you smile :(
-in exchange, you let him do corpse paint on your face.

have you been doomscrolling? feeling awful about it? do you feel out of control? does it seem your autonomy has been swallowed by the ever present beast that is the internet?
we live in the most overwhelmingly stimulating age of humanity ever seen, and it's only getting worse. our brains are sponges, soaking up whatever we smear them across, and it seems more and more difficult to find a clean surface to rest on. i'm no expert or professional, but ive been born and raised into the internet, and i'd like to hand out some wisdom regarding this.
the main issue: brain poison
since the brain absorbs whatever it's exposed to, media consumption is unsurprisingly going to effect it. the type of media, the amount of media, and the frequency of the media all play a factor.
it's not the internet itself that's bad here. it's the media on the internet, and the platforms designed to suck in our attention and keep it there until we're rotting inside our skulls.
we're never going to escape the internet. it's just a fact of life now, and a tool that can be used for wonderful things. so how do we learn to live with the internet and take advantage of its potential?
treat it like a dietary balance
staying aware of what goes in your brain is just as important as being aware of what you're eating. if you eat carelessly, don't listen to how your body feels after you eat certain things, and ignore any sickness that might result from rotten food, you're going to have a bad time and wreck your guts. the same goes for the brain.
you want to have a good mix of various types of media in the right amounts, or approximately so. if things are feeling bland, maybe diversify. if things are feeling stupid, try something more intellectual. if it's feeling too much, cut back on all of it
the following are three things you can do to maintain a sense of control and awareness over your media diet. this isnt a step by step and is in no particular order, theyre just ideas to carry forward in general any time it could be helpful.
1. digest
this is the process of thinking about and remembering what youve done throughout your time on the internet. it could apply to any period of time. so you might think, 'man, i've done nothing but watch tiktok all day.' or 'i've been scrolling twitter a lot more this past week.'
i feel like most people already do this to some extent, but it manifests as a fleeting sense of anxiety or shame that doesn't lead anywhere. analyze that feeling, and ask if it's really true or helpful.
ask if your media consumption is making you feel less focused, distracted, putting you into a brain fog, making you fall asleep when you don't want to, making you irritable and angry, drawing you into arguments, keeping you awake at night, or upsetting/disrupting you in any way.
digestion also means appreciating the good stuff and recognizing the good feelings you get too. so also ask if it's enriching you, helping you learn something new, giving you a new perspective, exposing you to something beautiful, passing the time, relaxing you, honing your focus, or generally lifting your mood.
2. cut
cut certain types of content from your life once you've decided they're not good for your media diet. block people. move on. tell youtube to stop reccomending that channel. block them. unfollow people. unfollow tags. block the tags. blacklist things. do it. forget the awful things that make your brain hurty. click the block button. uninstall the app. you know you want to
consider removing yourself entirely from websites that are designed to be attention predators. if you consistently feel like youre 'stuck' on a site and cant leave, it's probably best to just delete your account and get out of there. tiktok is NOTORIOUS for this.
i also tend to keep my following or subscribed count low. keeping the stream of content short forces me to find other things to do with my time. this goes hand in hand with things like turning off infinite scroll. it provides an 'end point' where the repetitive action of scrolling down stops bearing fruit, breaking the doomscrolling cycle. the internet is almost an infinite place, and its up to you to build walls around yourself so you arent lost in it forever.
its also important to get off the internet in general sometimes. i know this is obvious, but literally touch grass on occasion. doing anything with your physical body away from the screen will be more enriching than sitting there scrolling for hours. whether it's just a 5 minute walk around your house to stretch your legs or a 6 hour hike every weekend, part of cutting media will mean replacing it with real life. looking at some plants, doing a pushup, or working on a knitting project can be like rinsing your brain sponge under some cold, clean water.
3. curate
the flip side of cutting is curating. you'll want to be looking for media that makes you happy and feels productive or meaningful in some way. anything that not only doesnt make you feel like you wasted your time, but specifically makes you feel like you spent your time well, is a green flag.
keep in mind entertainment just for entertainment's sake is good for you too. you don't have to be watching university lectures and tutorials and stuff all day. finding high quality entertainment, such as personalities you enjoy, good production values, and inventive ideas can be really difficult. find the people who dont make you feel like a cocomelon baby and stick with them. from there you should be able to find similar content.
what's good for your soul is going to depend very much on you as an individual. this is also going to be an ongoing process as not only you but the internet both change and evolve. the important thing about this step is that you Make Decisions about what to consume. even bad decisions! it's all part of the process, and it's all about reclaiming your autonomy.
4. eat your junk food
this isn't a military drill or an exact science. i'm just a guy on tumblr with an intimate connection to his own brain and a LOT of time on the internet. that's my only credential. sometimes i want to turn that brain off and just mindlessly consume without putting any thought into what dirty dishwater is soaking into my sponge. sometimes adhd brain wants me to watch a shitty B movie in recap form so i dont have to commit to a full movie. sometimes i get stuck in the youtube shorts for like 3 hours.
that's fine. the most important part of any kind of self care is that a little bit is better than nothing. even just being aware that youre consuming something bad for you and knowing you arent ready to stop just yet is better than nothing.
thats it!!
now you should be prepared to take back some control over your media consumption. be gentle with yourself and take your time. eventually this stuff will become second nature, and you'll be effortlessly digesting, curating, and cutting media like it's just part of your personality. remember YOU have control over what the internet thinks you want to see. dont let it force feed you nasty slop anymore. let it be a reflection of your mind, not the other way around.
and good luck!

(video essayist voice) kingdom hearts is-
so, kh1. its been. a little while since i played. so forgive me if the game isnt exactly fresh in my mind. theres maybe gonna be errors so please bear with me im trying my best.
this is probably the kh game i have the least thoughts on, which feels weird considering its the first game in the series, but i just dont have a lot of strong opinions on it. its a pretty solid game!
starting where i normally do, the gameplay is probably the worst aspect of the game. they really thought platforming would be a fun thing in this game, but its just. not. the physics are so bad oh my god. if i ever have to jump in kh1 again itll be too soon. the difficulty is also a little bit all over the place. i played on standard (like i do with pretty much every game) and i would randomly jump from breezing through the game to trying a hundred times to fight one boss. most of the time its not the fun kind of difficult, just frustrating. the only time i can remember the difficulty being fun is the last riku fight in hollow bastion. i wish more of the game was the fun kind of hard. strangely enough, i know a lot of people struggled with the riku race and fight in the tutorial, but honestly those were easy for me? i got the fight first try, and the race second. idk, get on my level nerds i guess?
the worlds here are hit or miss. some of them (mostly the original ones, hollow bastion and traverse town specifically) are just amazing and i love them. others are. uh. lets say getting rid of the tarzan world was the best thing to come out of copyright law. also, this game is the only one where i skipped an entire world (sorry atlantica, you fucking suck). so theres that. the disney worlds are probably my least favorite aspect of the game
the story is alright! i dont have much to say about it other than i think that its mostly pretty good when i know whats going on, although both me AND one of my friends were so confused at the ending that we had to go call someone else to ask what the fuck happened and honestly i still dont really know? what the fuck is a kingdom hearts you ask? the world may never know.
this game and 2 are the only ones where maleficent is good. i miss when she was like a fun villain. she was just super into the housing market and i love that. what the fuck is she even doing in ddd? getting into bitcoin????
rikus great, i dont think i need to say that. hes such a freak and i love him. soras pretty good, shoutout to haley joel osman for doing a great job for being uh. 12??? at the time???????? hes great. i know a lot of people really like ansem sod but i just dont get the appeal? he never did anything for me. like hes fine i just didnt care about him whatsoever and anyone who says hes a better villain than like. xemnas. is wrong.
0/10 where is axel. ok but seriously uhhhhhh i give it a 7.7/10. its a solid, enjoyable game! not my favorite, but thats not to say i dislike it at all.

since everyone in this fandom and their mum seem to be giving their piece about the ‘update’ coming to Hogwarts Legacy on the 6th, i figured id give my piece even if no one has asked
ive been seeing a lot of posts and replies about how “we should just take what we get and be grateful” and “the devs are working hard, do you know how hard game development is?”
im very aware of how difficult game development can be and how mentally taxing it is. i dont doubt that they’ve been through the mill.
the update is trash. its that simple. we’re allowed to feel upset about it, and for people saying that its not fair to be upset — it is fair. we shouldnt have to expect the bare minimum from a game that sold 22 million copies and reached nearly 2 billion dollars in revenue, a game that had 14 nominations for awards and 3 wins.
we were told we were getting a summer update alongside the Haunted Hogsmeade quest — the quest they promised to release to PC and Xbox in march when the game celebrated one year of release. they said, and i quote;
“As we near the one-year anniversary of Hogwarts Legacy, we wanted to let our community know that the Hogwarts Legacy PlayStation-exclusive content will be available on other platforms later this summer, along with additional updates and features for the game. Stay tuned in the coming months for more details on what’s coming to Hogwarts Legacy this year.” copy and pasted straight from Hogwarts Legacy’s official twitter page. along with additional updates and features to the game.
yes — i know, thats a very vague statement. it could have been taken in any way, but typically when additional updates and features — plural — is put into a sentence, you assume that there will be more than one new feature. it wasnt wrong for the community to assume that there was more than a few new additions coming to the game.
okay, we got photo mode — thats great for console players, but it isnt new for us PC players. im happy for my console buddies that finally get to bring their mc to life in the way ive been able to. im looking forward to seeing the uptick in photos upon the updates release. PC and Xbox got the new haunted hogsmeade quest, and thats great, considering the release of it was delayed by 3 months, but atleast we’re getting it. but basically. PS5 was fucked in the process, because everything minus photo mode is stuff they already had, and honestly, thats not fair. and double honest — thats not an update. thats the release of exclusive content plus a new addition.
for several months a summer update was hyped up, and the result was…. ps5 getting fucked, a photo mode that im going to bet my ass on will be buggy as all hell, and some cosmetics. so no — i wont be grateful. especially when we keep getting promised things and then getting fucked by a hot iron in the process. because i havent forgotten the documentary that was supposed to come out, and i still remember during September when they hyped up a digital surprise for Back to Hogwarts day and it ended up being 30 percent off on a game most of us already had, only for the game to go on sale for half off the following Nov/Dec for the holiday sales.
since the release of the game, modders have been basically picking up the slack by working their asses off to create bug fixes, better cosmetic options, enhanced schedules, companions, and so much more to keep the community somewhat entertained. this as well as the file miners that are constantly digging things up that we were robbed of, like the relationship list for companions, gaunt manor, other house specific quests, more quests concerning Isadora, on and on. on top of this, ive seen first hand how much of the outer parts of the map was developed only to be cut out. i spent a solid hour and a half today using free cam to fly around the outskirts of the map — buildings, caves, entire areas laid out for towns or poacher camps, all thrown out on top of all of the discarded quests and content.
and while im at it — ill be one of the few to say it, but Hogwarts Legacies storyline was not well thought out, or at the very least it wasnt very well portrayed. there were hundreds of questions we were left with upon beating the game. where did Anne go? what happened to the keepers after the final battle? why wasnt Isadora in her portrait? what were the keepers hiding? did inhaling the magic actually make a difference or was it just for shock value? how much of Isadora’s story did we miss? how was the undercroft tied in with Isadora when it was apparently a Gaunt secret? what even really was the undercroft?
yes, i know — “well arent they making a second one?” and yeah, im pretty sure they are, and maybe thats why we’ve gotten nothing more than a pile of bricks in the last year and a half. but, they should probably finish the first game before starting on a second.
this doesnt mean i dont love Hogwarts Legacy. i love the people ive met, the stories ive read, and i love capturing the screenshots i take from that game. the entire situation is just frustrating to no end.

do you have any tips on how to live off as artist professionally?
First of all art isn't always a viable option depending where you live. The only reason ive been able to live off art is because the american dollar is worth 5x more than the brazilian real so even if i didn't get many comms i could still get by with the few i had. and if that wasn't the case I'd pretty much be eating breadcrumbs off the floor like a pigeon.
1. Whore yourself out and draw fanart of every popular or trending thing to gather attention to youe art
2. Learn your platforms: learn how each websites algorithm works, learn what are the best hours to post, etc
3. I cannot stress enough how important it is to find your niche
4. Everyone is fake no one wants to be your friend, other popular artists will start following you the moment your following becomes good enough. They'll start to interact with you too and want to become mutuals in order to share followings/traction. If you can play into that you can get them to share your stuff as well, but honestly don't fall for it bc most of them shittalk other artists on their privs or personal servers and the stress isnt worth it
5. Draw nsfw if possible/if you're comfortable with. People who commission porn pay well and they often have very few options when commissioning stuff bc most artists don't accept porn commissions.
6. Accept being an artist is a hard job that doesn't pay really well. If you're freelancing on comms life's always going to be a tightrope, so i suggest trying to do professional work once in a while so you can at least have the security of a salary. Draw backgrounds, gestures, scenes, studies, and the likes, bc those are what companies will want in your portfolio
7. Depending where you live it's extremely hard to live off as an artist, and being an artist is often means a very difficult struggle with finances. It's a job that requires passion, and more often than not turning art in a job causes creative burnout and complete loss of spark for it. Ask yourself: why do you want to be a professional artist? Isn't it better to keep it as a hobby? Maybe a side gig if you need money? You can still pursue art even if you don't do it to earn money, and it doesn't make you any less of an artist. It's a difficult job, and you need to understand its not going to be viable at all times and sometimes you'll have to throw in the towel and do something else to survive and there's 0 shame in that.
8. Be professional and courteous with your clients. Don't be a doormat, but don't go around ghosting people or being passive aggressive or taking them for granted and never deliver any product. Doing art for money is a JOB. Treat it like such. Inform your clients about delays, or any issues that may come up.
9. Take care of yourself and by that i mean eat decent food, exercise your arms, get 8 hours of sleep and get some sun (or take vitamin D periodically if youre a basement dweller). This isn't some self care uwu shit, it's actual science that your body is a machine and not providing what it needs to function leads to issues, and some of those issues include affecting your mental health, and mental health issues include and are not limited to: anxiety, depression, burnout, loneliness, feeling like your art sucks, feeling unmotivated, feeling like you're a failure, etc. Same with physical: for the love of GOD you DON'T want wrist issues. You dont want carpal or ulnar nerve entrapment. Don't draw 24/7. Don't push yourself either. If youre feeling shitty its time to STOP. Just picture a shitty graphics card trying to run minecraft with 5 shaders and 10 mods at once on fullscreen with 60 fps. Thats you. Youre the graphics card
10. Don't be a bitch, don't get involved with drama. Can't be an internet artist if you get cancelled so don't try to start shit at any point in time. Don't be a shit person.
And from the top of my head thats it, hope you like eating plain bread 🍞

Midnight Gaming: A vain attempt to justify my wasteful expenditure
So last night I played Banjo-Kazooie and Mario Party past midnight, didnt really find anything worth talking about on social so lets just move on.
Tumblr media
So Banjo-Kazooie is a game that carries a lot of nostalgia for a lot of people who grew up with the Nintendo 64 console. Its a 3d platformer made by Rare during their golden age arc with Nintendo. An age that ended when Nintendo didnt buy them, leaving Microsoft to do it instead. A move thats considered a massive fumble on Nintendos part for not securing one of their most prolific developers from the N64 days.
Now despite growing up with an N64, I didnt really play Banjo-Kazooie until the remaster on Xbox live arcade, managing to accomplish a 100% playthrough before moving onto tooie before dropping off for something else. Back then the only games made by rare I played were Donkey Kong 64, Goldeneye 007, some Diddy Kong Racing though that was at my cousins, and some Jet Force Gemini a lil later, so playing the Og game on the Nintendo Swich Online expac was an opportunity to get a glimpse on what was different from the remaster. Now you maybe asking, EJ why the fuck did you buy an NSO sub + xpac when Nintendo is garbage and you could just emulate BK instead. Good question and I say its due to a lack of judgement/sanity. Plus they had a deal where if you bought a 1 year sub, they give you a code for another year to give to a friend. I decided to get it so I can give the code to my self so I can have 2 years for the price of one.... was it worth it? I dunno lets talk about the game.
Tumblr media
The game carries a vibe with it that makes it difficult to be in a bad mood while playing, banjos happy go lucky charm, kazooie's snarky abrasive attitude and the musics vibrancy and diversity help fuel what is essentially a grand ol time collecting items throughout its many worlds to help you progress through gruntys castle and towards rescuing banjos sister.
Is there really anything I can critique this game for? You can search up Banjo-kazooie and find everyone gushing over it. There isnt really anything I can say about it that isnt petty and forced. I guess the fact that the notes you collect in each level can be lost if you lose a life, with only the highest amount collected being saved for that level but thats only an issue if you're aiming for 100%.
I suppose this game can be thanked for helping inspire all those new age 3d platformers you see popping up from indie devs nowadays, games like corn kids 64 and cavern of dreams. I should mention that some of the devs along with the composer for BK are now in a group called playtonic with their own game known as yooka-laylee, which was meant to recreate the BK gameplay and vibes. Thats getting a remaster too apparently.
Tumblr media
Well, now I may not have much to say other than that its good, so on that note lets move onto Mario Party. Now I played quite a bit of Mario Party in my days.
I played one but missed out on 2 & 3. I did however get all the gamecube games from 3 to 7. Didnt get any of the games past that and right now it seems that the most recent game released is Super Mario Party Jamboree which apparently folks are enjoying atm.
Tumblr media
Now Mario Party 1, that game has quite a reputation in thanks to its series of minigames that require spinning the control stick. A lot of kids did that by using thier palms, hurt their hands real bad and thag lead to a lawsuit for Nintendo. Its part of the reason why Mario Party one never showed up again on virtual console for wii but 2 did. So the fact that its on NSO now is interesting to say the least, though a warning does show about the stick spinning.
So heres the thing, I played Mario Party 1 quite a lot in my youth, I've done the palm maneuver every time. I even regularly did the wind up shy guy toy in the minigame hut were you spin to try and get the toy to go as far as they can. And yet the worst I got was an imprint on my hand that went away in a couple of minutes. No breakage of skin, no lasting pain. I was fine everytime. Just thought that was interesting to tell.
Tumblr media
A big draw for Mario Party is that it was a board game you play with friends, moving around a board, collecting coins and stars to try and get ahead with each turn broken up with minigames. This game was made to be played with others and naturally... I was a loner. I think I only ever got to play mario party with one other person, being a family member, rather than with 4 people. So I usually just played with the bots only, occasionally getting an easy victory now and then. At times however I just end up starting a 50 turn game and switching my character to a bot too and watch the game play itself. I did this with every mario party game I had, just watching bots run around and playing the minigames. I guess watching mario party playthroughs such as therunawayguys and party crashers is the successor of those bot matches huh...
I definatly have fond times with the series, the variety of minigames available help add a little excitement and challenge in between turns. Its nice to see that 1, 2 and 3 are available on NSO and can be played online with other people. Maybe someday I can do that in the 2 years I have NSO for. Though I have to ask, why did we get Banjo Kazooie but not Donkey Kong 64? Why did we get Mario Party 1 but not Diddy Kong Racing? Why have we not got the og Super Smash Bros on NSO???? How many people do you think would kill for that to be on the service?? Atleast Rugrats Scavenger Hunt isnt on their.

Gabe is engaging with people on twitter now too. Not even sure where to start with all he’s said on there in the past couple of hours. It’s a lot.
i am opening up twitter as i type this. and i dont think ill like what i see, but i think i should see it anyway.
read some of his replies. and its not as bad as i thought. which doesnt. mean. its good. i also dont know where to start. the idea that taking down the misinformation on your social media page with a huge platform is back pedaling. the weight he places on the icj finishing their ruling when theyve already proven that its a genocide in everything but intent yet. i havent gone through everything. i think itd be difficult to sort through it all myself. its technically an improvement in that he has repeatedly acknowledged the devastation of gaza. i guess. not really.
like i said in my tags, if were being completely real. hes not going to be yelled out of this by people he doesnt know on twitter. as someone who has changed some minds and hearts, the most effective way to do involves knowing them and being respected by them first and foremost. people dont logic their way into positions like this. especially in this case.
i have thoughts but i feel like theyll be muddled, so ill stop on this for now. my point is. i think he needs to log off and someone who loves him and respects him enough to check him on stuff like this needs to have a hard conversation with him. and i do think there should he social consequences to his terrible and cowardly views too, but direct confrontation from a bunch of people he doesnt know probably isnt going to hold that weight.
its sickening though that somehow just. seeing whats happened in the past few months hasnt made it click yet that its more than a 'war'. somehow. though.

death feedism, detrans kink, slob, scat, ddlg, pregnancy. i dont really care if you follow me and are into these things, but it's not my cup of tea. (im not into a lot of other stuff but these are common around this corner of tumblr so they're the most relevant).
i'm iffy on immobility, health stuff, and more extreme degredation. sometimes fun, often isnt!
Boundaries + Misc:
DNI IF: you are underage, post underage stuff, post creepshots of real people or stolen images, are transmed/truscum or r generally exclusionary. (also general no racists/homophobes/transphobes/ableists, etc., but that goes without saying lol)

oh okay wait gen q cus I've had a few ppl recommend hollow knight to me before but I've avoided it cus it's a platformer. as a fellow platformer... non-enjoyer?? what sets it apart from other platformers that makes it fun when a lot aren't??
um! honestly im not really sure... I quite like how the knight moves around and i got very used to it, I guess. my first playthrough frustrated me IMMENSELY but because it's one set world, when you've beat it all once you know how to get through everything and successive playthroughs are way easier.
It's a metroidvania so a lot of platforming challenges get easier if you fight an extra boss beforehand and such, and the platforming aspect of it isnt the main focus of the game so pretty much every challenge involves you weaving through obstacles to get to some shiny item and then hitting a switch that opens a bypass door or shuts all the obstacles off, so that challenge is done and gone for the rest of your time in that savefile. which is great imo. the world is 2d platforming but aside from the little challenges embedded into the world the platforming isnt meant to be super difficult
Also, if you fall into spikes or something the game usually sets you down on the platform right before that rather than all the way at the beginning of the challenge, unless you died and are coming back from a respawn point. sometimes the challenge is short enough that it doesnt do that but for the most part it does & i like that
from what i've heard from other players the big frustrating part of hk isn't the platforming but the bosses, because hk boss fights require you to memorize all their attack patterns & be able to dodge consistently throughout the whole fight. tanking does not work very well in hk. these things are the main focus of the game, i'd say— i recommend watching a boss fight playthrough to see if the combat style seems like something youd enjoy or not.
The game itself doesn't have cheats or accessibility features that make it easier to play, but ive heard there are infinite health & money mods if you're after story and soundtrack enjoyment alone ((hk has very good story and soundtrack imo!!))
Honestly with hollow knight i think i can attribute a lot of my enjoyment to sheer "got good" — i am one of the lucky ones who Figured it All Out and now theres one pesky little steam achievement in between me and perfect game status. but uh. i think hk is enough of a not-platformer for me to have enjoyed it !!

Heyy, as much as I understand your views on obesity, obesity is most of the time not under a person's control. Obesity is a disease. There are many medications which have the effect of obesity on people, and how much ever they workout, it doesn't help shed those kilos a lot. A lot of others are born with obesity due to their genetics. Which again, is extremely difficult to shed. So when you call out a person for being fat, you're also putting down obese people who work hard to shed weight everyday but still don't see results. And a lot of times, it is just better to accept their body as it is than to put themselves through unnecessary hell. (I'm not talking about obesity due to unhealthy habits, which again doesn't deserve shaming imo).
Imagine you're put down for something you're trying to overcome but can't. It doesn't feel very nice....i hope you get what I mean :)
first off, thank you for not being as arrogant as others in my inbox, i genuinely appreciate that. however, i want to mention that a lot of studies do show that yes obesity can be influenced by genes, and i cant disagree with that. however, in the recent years, the rapid increase of obesity isnt because these genes are carried by everyone. the larger the population, the more genetic diversity. you prompted me to conduct some research, and i come to find out that most of the time, only genetic factors affect us from controlling our weight. there are of course certain situations like thyroid which affects weight, i have family members with thyroid, and i have seen them grow increasingly fat. they refuse to work out and take care of themselves but act pissy when we tell them theyre getting fat. they could lessen the suffering of thyroid by working out, however, they refuse to do so because they think it's easier to sit and sulk over it for them. now for my research, read over some of these website:
im not going out everyday and bashing people up for being fat, i have better things to do. however, this is a platform where im not directly calling out names, i'm just calling out people who idolise obesity. Lizzo is one of them. Take a look at this video:

this the stuff i hate. anyway, have a good day. Jai Shree Ram🚩🙏🏽

I wanna open up in a way that nobody asked for and say that...
My god why i am i so insecure about changing media i like to the point of making something new, and beautiful but absolutely hating myself when i see other people's interpretations who are closer to the source. Im specifically thinking about R-ewritten!Bomberman (i think thats how you format the .... Alternate verse thingy???? Im new to this sorry) and seeing other people react to the small changes i do show and then i recoil and lurk back into my cave even if it isnt.. negative
Its difficult to explain changes i made and why and the fact i injected angst n shit in a typically lighthearted series and then up and moved my entire platform to a smaller area and its. Noticable very very noticeable
I REALLY want to get back into making content for it as bomberman has me in a death grip and thats my pride and joy and my biggest most fleshed out story to date but it really does seem theres no demand anymore to continue, no interest in my passions which, yes im being melodramatic and irrational but thats just me. I am melodramatic and irrational.... 👍
Maybe i should stop comparing my art and creations to other peoples, i stopped doing that with my art why cant i do that with my stories too?
Thanks for listening to me losing my fucking mind

To understand how ruthless Lenin was is to understand Russian Strongman politics. He even picked the name "Iron" and his successor "Steel" to portray this outwardly.
If you aren't perceived by those who could overthrow you as ruthless, tough, or absolute then you will quickly find yourself overthrown. Lenin knew this when he and his revolutionary friends became the "vanguard of the proletariat".
He was a devout believer in the Marxist fallacy that the overthrow by the proletariat was inevitable. He saw that it wasn't working in Germany, or Russia so he made sure to light the match when he got to the Russian frontier.
There were several general strikes and smaller socialist/marxist/populist movements going on when the Russians had to resign from WWI. Lenin took the initiative to roll as many up as possible under his banner through terrorism and intimidation.
He had to be the most ruthless leader of these movements to create the monopoly of violence that is necessary to assert political control over a geographic area through insurgency.
After the success he had to keep the revolution going or he would be seen as acting counter to his political platform. It is very very difficult to pivot from a revolution to a victory condition if the nation is still as poor as when they started. He would be dead by nightfall if he claimed victory and dismantled revolutionary apparatus. So he had to keep finding enemies everywhere until state sponsored capitalism paid off enough. As we know now, quality of life and per capita income won't really ever be driven that way.
He died before per capita income rose enough to call off the revolution, and a strongman needed to still be a revolutionary. Stalin was that man. He was the one to finally say that socialism has worked and they were now successful Communists living in a equal meritocracy. As the revolution was going on 20 years, an entire generation knew nothing besides repression and violence.
Unlike Stalin Lenin was more precise in his sweeping violence. The Red guard was a scalpel, under stalin a hammer.
nicely said, stalin lacked precision, from my studies i also believe he lacked the same strategy capabilities lenin had, but as you pointed out, it was believed they needed a strong man to keep it going
i dont think the soviet union is the example of successful communism people should watch, but it is the first people think about because it is where it was born
i like talking about cuba when talking about communism because beside the fact that our girl in finance crying it isnt a good economy, the country is still embargoed by the usa, still offers health and education for citizens (and for many gringos that go there to get treated), free internet and more
people arent rich there but theres no one dying of diabetes because they cant afford a simple insulin injection

been having just a smidge of a hard time recently. (semi-vent post under the break, if you wish to read.)
i just got done with my university semester, technically end of my sophomore year, technically start of my freshman year? its complicated, i transferred. and despite spending all of it with the lovely light of my life, i don’t think i’d ever felt so lonely in my life, perhaps save for the pandemic. it was a different kind of lonely- not some longing for love or companionship- i had that already. i just didn’t make any friends of my own- i kind of got swept into a group that was my partner’s, and not my own. i didn’t bond with these people like my partner did, and i didn’t fit in with them really either. i enjoyed spending time with them and we got along well enough, and i have a lot of happy memories and funny videos to look back on now, but every time i went to hang out with them it was similar to trying to shove a puzzle peice where it didn’t belong. i was an outsider- literally, having transferred and moved from across the country- and i wasn’t used to the region or the demeanor of people from the area. and most of my classes had this same group in them- all being from the same major, go figure- but it didn’t give me many opportunities to branch out and interact with people aside from this group.
i felt like i was kinda floating on an ice sheet with these same people, and even though i didnt really like it on this platform, branching out to another one would take swimming through the freezing water.
only one person, maybe two of the roughly 8 of us were any form of inclusive or inviting to me, to my recollection. and we got along pretty good, but it just felt like every invitation to go hang out with the group was an inconvenience. like “oh we’re gonna go hang out, i guess we should invite komo to come along.” and there were some hangouts that didnt involve me, which i was fine with. again, i was an outsider they had known for maybe a month or two when they’d all known each other for the whole semester previous. im lucky my partner doubles as my best friend and we never mind hanging out with each other, because otherwise i think i wouldve just left mid-semester and went home. i did meet a few people on my own, but because i rarely saw them and they had little interest in hanging out outside of class, their status to me has remained more of “aquaintances” or classmates than actual friends.
secondary to the friend problem, it was recently brought to my attention by my partner that i pretty much have art block or art burnout all? the time?? and have for years??? so. im not sure what that says about my rickety roller-coaster of a mental state but i know it isnt good. i just brought up how i feel like i can’t draw most of the time, or when i want to what i make isnt satisfactory or doesnt look good. at first i thought it was just a style crisis- since i tend to have those pretty frequently and change up the way i draw or try something new cause i get bored of the last thing. but every now and then its like im blessed by the art gods and i can draw exactlly what i want the way i want to. it used to happen more frequently in previous years but its become less and less frequent now, no matter how much of my time dedicate to drawing.
im trying to refresh myself by drawing on paper more often but its still incredibly difficult to come up with anything or even want to draw most days. of course i want to- i have fun with it and i like drawing and its more often than not an outlet for me. but i just feel… stuck. similar to my friends, i dont like where i am and i want to leave it but im not going to like the process to get there and i might not like the outcome. some of its my own personal anxieties, i know, but its hard to move past those.
anyways, i just remembered yesterday that its mermay and i want to make at least a few pieces for the summer season. maybe thinking of the ocean will keep me going for a little longer.
until next time, i hope everyone takes care of themselves. remember to hydrate and drink water even if its not hot outside; your body still needs it. :)
if youve read to all the way down here, thanks for hearing out the problems of a rando on the internet. i appreciate you taking the time to do that.

OKAY, let's see how much of the floating island logistics i can remember. Basically, i took your idea to use ghost zone materials and went to the logical extreme, but using the antigravity materials as part of rigid structure like you were discribining is probably the most logistically simple solution, as it wouldnt have most of the hurdles i describe below.
But... *floating islands.* You can't just not try to make it work once it becomes possible. Bear in mind that I'm imagining something like the Hallelujah Mountains in Avatar, where they're free floating but tethered to each other and the ground with massive vines. I think that's an asthetic that City Planner Sam would totally try to create.
Once AP starts importing ghost materials to build larger structure (which itself is gonna spawn a whole new field of engineering and design), someone is gonna have the idea to tug and/or build an entire floating island above amity.
I love your idea that parkers build up as a representation of their own financial growth. Someone bringing in a whole-ass island? It's gonna kick off a whole load of legal and environmental questions. If you can own property, and you can build up almost indefinitely with access to the right materials, how high can you actually go? How much of the air above you do you own? 100 feet? 1000? A mile? How does it affect air traffic (especially if flying cars become a thing in this city)?
Now, someone tugs in an island. Which unlucky sods get their vertical potential cut off by an island in the way? Who has to live under the island, and who is affected by the island's shadow?
I mean, I'm kind of imagining this as an escalation. Perhaps it starts out with individual property owners bringing in house sized islands that get tethered to their structures and still fit inside of their vertical column. In that situation, the argument isn't all that different from just building up on the rigid structure. They just figured out how to add a layer of air underneath the next platform/floor.
These legal issues pop up when some gets the idea to bring in an island the size of several city blocks, as a clear expansion to the city as a whole, not an individual's private assets.
Is the island considered landmass or a structure? Can its ownership be divided up? Who is in charge of maintainance and stability? Theres a lot of interesting questions here that relate to the concept of megastructures and their creation and maintainence.
Then, there are environmental concerns. If the island is low to the ground (roughly, less than 2-3x height than the island is wide, probably), there is gonna be a sun and rain shadow effect. Directly underneath the center might be permanently shaded.
Water drainage depends slightly on the shape of the island and will need to be planned for. Any shape in which the bottom of the island slopes down to the centerpoint is going to guide the water to that point, like a stalactite. This would probably even be preferable to making the underside completely flat where the edges of the island would drop water like a gutterless roof.
Or island gutters could be a thing, too. Could you imagine an outsider stumbling across that bylaw where floating islands are required to have such-and-such gutters and drainage systems?
Wherever the water is collected to drop off (i'd imagine it would become common proctice to irrigate the island to drop water off at one or two specific locations), underneath would need to have a dedicated retention pond. Underneath the island would never see rain, unless the bottom of the island is deliberately shaped with multiple stalactictites, causing the water to split up again to the individual points, but idk how difficult that would be to engineer, when a single waterfall is just simpler.
Its also important to note that if water drainage is deliberately trying to split rainfall between the island and the land underneath, that means both get about half the rainfall of surrounding land that isnt covered by floating islands. If islands are stacked multiple layers high, it divides water resources even more. Basically, you gotta account for all of the rainfall that reaches amity, but divide it by amity's landmass PLUS the landmass of all islands. For example, if floating islands effectively double amity's landmass, then average rainfall is cut in half. It's the same amount of water, but it's absorbed by twice as much soil and earth. (Ie, if more agriculture is needed, more water needs to be brought in because rainfall is a finite resource.)
Logistically, this can also be taken advantage of. If the (uppermost) islands are designated as agriculture, instead of draining water, they retain all of it to maximize crop growth. Underneath those islands can be designated urban centers (where traditionally, that much pavement is a flooding hazard) because the water is retained elsewhere.
If the island isn't agricultural and needs to drain water, the shadow underneath makes a unique environment for crops that require darker conditions and more controlled irrigation (mushrooms come to mind, and if heat can be retained, tropical plants like cocoa trees need excessive shade).
The flip side of water irrigation is sewage. Sewage piping needs to be more accessible to clean up blockages, but can probably be transported down the tether like water? But if the island is large enough, an on-island drainage field might be preferable, allowing it to filter through the soil, fertilize plants, and drip into the retention pond as grey water. This can potentially limit the maximum occupancy of an island, as drainage fields need space.
The islands also need to be stable. Strong tethers keep them in place, and weight needs to be balanced so the whole thing doesn't "turn turtle." Think of the physics of side-loading an iceberg or trying to get into a canoe - they might flip. Balance wise, the best place to put weight is at the bottom - like a zeppelin or hot air balloon. Lots of interesting architectural ideas open up when one has to build *down* from a foundation instead of *up.* Any given island will always need to have more weight underneath than above, and buildings on the edges need to be at least somewhat balanced with the opposite side.
From a pure physics angle, it's not enough for the islands to be weightless. Technically, they need to be the same or less weight than the air they displace - bouyancy. Now, using ghost materials where we're screwing with actual gravity instead of exploiting lighter-than-air physics is gonna complicate the actual math a bit, but air pressure is still going to behave the same - decreasing as you go up, so weightless items will be pushed up.
However, adding earth materials to the islands means adding weight, and once that weight exceeds the displaced air, they will start to fall. We still have the same problem that we have with balloons - air does not weigh much, and you have to displace a lot of it for meager weight. In this situation, the ghost landmass of the island is treated as the balloon, so you have a rough concept of how the scale of the island always needs to be larger than the structures build on it, probably by about an order of magnitude. (But, we need to also consider that these materials might be *truly* weightless, where hot air balloons are simply *less* weight than the surrounding air, so the scale might not be as excessive as a hot air balloon to its basket.)
If we're headcannoning that Danny can lift large items because he's pushing his weightlessness into the object? That's an exploitable ghost power! Like submarines with a ballast, the islands can have devices on them that measure their altitute from the ground and spread or reduce that "weightlessness" to a ballast weight inside the island to counteract the change in weight from people and retained rainwater constantly moving on and off the island (air tempature and pressure can affect this too), keeping within a designated altitude. It needs to keep the island lighter than air, but heavy enough to not put unnecessary strain on the tethering cables - they exist to hold the island in place, but can only handle so much tension created by their bouyancy.
Power and electricity need to be brought to the islands. We don't think about it because those are normally underground, but how do you reach underground when it's separated by air? The tethers are the only permanent attachment from ground to island, so if the island can't survive completely on solar/wind power and retained rainwater, it needs to be pumped up through the cables. I dont think this is insurmountable. Power cables are naturally flexible, and water can be pumped through something akin to a fire hose. I'd imagine the biggest issue here is creating the water pressure or a loch system to push that water hundreds or thousands of feet upwards. It's done in skyskrapers, so it isn't impossible, but it needs to be adapted somehow to exist entirely on those tethers, using flexible hosing.
Now, onto weather and natural disasters. Most people don't have any concept of how much energy is constantly moving through the atmosphere and the earth, even in tranquil settings. The earth is highly electrically charged, with organized differences in charge between the ground, multiple layers of atmosphere, and in near space (van allen belts and magnetic field).
Sunlight also does much more than just warm things up - it increases electrical charge, which is (in extremely oversimplified terms) why solar panels exist. Any floating island is going to absorb sunlight, and because its floating in the air, its insulated from the ground beneath (the air is an insulater because moving energy across wildly different materials takes a threshold amount of energy to overcome, again, in oversimplified terms).
That cable tethering the island to the earth? Prime electrical conducter. In tranquil weather, this might not even be a concern, though it can probably be exploited as a supplemental electrical source (id imagine it would be somewhat equivalent of harvesting telluric currents, which is when you stick a cathode and and anode into the dirt and connect them by copper wire to harvest energy from the charge difference between the two).
During storms, the entire island is gonna behave like a lightning rod, and all that energy will be directed through those tethers, so they need to be designed to handle sudden high voltage loads without burning up.
(Side note: the electric universe physics paradigm is the only physics model I've seen that has considered the electrical ramifications of a theoretical space elavator. The fact that such a structure would connect a path between all the differently charged layers of earth's magnetic fields [which includes telluric currents in the earth, several layers of weather currents in the lower and upper atmosphere, van allen belts and near-space electromagnetic fields] would make it the worlds biggest lightning rod. Any theoretical material used to make the space elevator needs to survive being heated to millions of degrees from the planetary-scale electrical discharge it's suddenly facilitating, which is a layer of impossible even beyond the physical stress limits its already known to need to overcome, not to mention the weirder side effects this might have according to the electric universe model, that would seem utterly ridiculous in the current standard model: like disrupting major weather patterns and many other things which are considered constants in the standard model but are equations in the electric universe model, like gravity, rotation, and nuclear decay rates.)
For those that want to keep track, the tethers need to: be strong enough to physically tether the island, transport electricity, transport water and sewage with specialized equipment, harvest supplementary power with specialized equipment, survive a lightning strike without damage, and still be flexible enough to allow the island to wander by a few dozen feet. They also would need to be attached to *massive* foundations buried in the earth, which are heavy enough to weigh down the entire island.
Evacuating the tops of islands will probably be necessary (and perhaps frequent enough storms might even make island acriculture impossible if crop loss to lightning fire is too common), but as long as the tethers direct the energy into the ground and don't snap from burning out, evacuating the entire island might not be necessary as long as the housing structures are made of more insulating material that the tethers (not a problem at all). It would be similar to how being in an airplane in a storm is generally safe because the electricity moves through the hull of the plane but continues downward, never reaching the passengers or sensitive electrical equipment inside.
They might even have dedicated lightning rod islands, smaller islands that are higher up in the sky than the populated islands, and connected straight to the earth instead of to the much nearer populated island network.
Conversely, the islands would be the safest place to be during an earthquake, but i dont think those are common in illinois?
Would islands attract or deflect tornados? They're technically created by a charge differential, and those floating islands are really changing the electromagnetic flow within Amity Park. I think the conductive pathways and harvesting of energy would lower the odds of charge building up to tornado-creating levels, but the amount of energy moving through the atmosphere is still probably a couple of orders of magnitude higher than the influence that human society has, so it might not be noticable?
But also, ghosts, and i like to headcannon that a lot of ghost powers are related to electromagnetic field manipulation in the sense that ectoplasm is a form of high-energy plasma working on an electric universe physics model. Not to mention all the cool stuff the fentons invented. If they were able to expand their ghost shield to cover a large swath of amity, they could create shields that deflect lightning strikes and weather-busters that block wind-storms.
I just realized temperature might be an issue, too. Floating Islands are going to heat up and cool down faster than the earth beneath them because they're smaller. Spring crops would be plantable earlier, and fall frosts would kill things sooner. It gives the opportunity to stagger crops by a few extra weeks to spread the farming workload over more time and stabilize food stores slightly.
Last big logistical problem regarding floating islands: transport. How do people get on and off the island? How do goods and garbage get on and off the island? Rope ladders and bridges? Ski lift? Helicopter? Flying cars?
Rigid structures like elevators or stairs *might* be feasible if they're rigid only to the earth and the top part is connected to the island with a flexible structure, like a ramp off of a boat onto a dock. But it probably needs to be flexible for several feet in variation in both distance and altitude. Maybe more like the accordian ramps used to load planes?
However, if we're importing realms materials, maybe we can import realms physics, i.e., its non-euclidean nature. I think it would be both hilarious and extremely efficient if you could enter a door kept on solid ground, and it exited in one of the buildings on an island. If it's reliable enough, utilities could also be routed through the door alongside foot traffic and materials/waste transport. Amity residents would have a mental map of the fastest routes to get across town via non-euclidean doorways.
Lastly and unrelated to the floating islands, i also considered that if amity is transporting goods through the realms, they're gonna build infrastructure on the realms side of the portal to facilitate it. From that, a large-scale shipping hub would grow, then industry would develop next to the transport center, then housing for employees, and finally, commercial to serve residents. Like a riverside town that builds a bridge and grows on both sides of the bank, Amity Park would be half on earth and have in the realms. Something about how the alienness of existing in two different dimensions, somehow being the most normal development of amity, is just so fascinating to me.
Why doesn't the justice league know about Amity Park?
Okay so it's been a bit sonce I watched the show but one of the things in DpxDC is the anti-ecto acts, which I love, but correct me if I'm wrong, I THINK ??? they only show up in reality trip? SO: What if Danny, when using the gauntlet to undo everything, also got rid of the Anti-Ecto acts? but this is babys first time editing reality so he uh Fucks Up A Lil'. As a result when Danny used the reality gauntlet to wipe the AEA from existence he accidentally wiped Amity Park from perception. A big 'nothing matters over here' jedi mind trick, and now no ones looking at Amity. So, the Justice League actually WERE looking into and monitoring the situation in Amity, but when the perception filter closed them off, all of that suddenly went ignored.
This is noticed when someone (Alfred, Dick, Tim, literally anyone) realises theres just. A BIG dusty pile of case files semi abandoned somewhere in the cave when going through a (time period)ly cave cleaning.
They put it down because it's Not Important.
They come back to finish the cleaning the next day and do the exact same thing, but there's nothing to actually distract them this time and it pings as weird. Because why would case files be not important? They are by definition important, because only things flagged as important go into case files.
They try to get someone else to read it, because as long as they don't read the information in the file, they don't put it down.
That person goes to read it, gets a line in and then says something like 'that isn't important' and goes to leave. Person A pushes it and person B ALSO catches on.
Que the Batfam trying to figure out hey, what the fuck actually?
Meanwhile, how is Amity fairing? Canon compliant everything's going alright? Or have knock on effects to No One Look Here started to show?
