im convinced this author literally could not think of a way to make avery naturally choose jameson over grayson so she just decided to make grayson act completely out of character.

literally up until this explosion, grayson's whole thing is about protecting avery, and her saying she truly does feel safe with him. everything in this tiresome love triangle plot has pointed to grayson being the better option. im convinced the author either switched to jameson bc of fan feedback seeming to prefer him, or she always planned for jameson but accidentally wrote herself into a corner and had to ruin grayson's narrative appeal by having him just 🧍🧍🧍🧍 STAND THERE 🧍🧍🧍🧍 when avery falls into a coma from the explosion.

there is no logical explanation for him to have reacted like that given everything he's said and done for avery leading up to this moment.

this writing is so frustrating this is exactly why i hate love triangles

Major spoilers below cut but-

also idk how other people feel about this but as much as I enjoy the animation and songs and story (and vindication on being right about both Vaggie and Husk) the pacing in this show's a fucking nightmare.

6 episodes in and we have confirmed that Husk used to be an Overlord (something a lot of us predicted bc he was a sillhouette in the Overlord lineup) and that Vaggie is/was an angel (also predicted bc of her weapon of choice and general appearance). The extermination has been revealed to Heaven (seriously why tf did they think it was a good idea to hold court with angels who didn't know?? Charlie could have mentioned the extermination at ANY time), that Lucifer is an overall dorky anxious mess of a father who thinks the hotel will fail bc he's already tried to reason with Heaven, that Heaven doesn't even know HOW to get into Heaven, and an angel has been killed (AND we know who did it)? This is infodump. The season should be longer than 8 episodes, and some of this information should have been teased throughout season one and not revealed until season 2.

Loving the Huskerdust content, don't get me wrong, and hoping we see Alastor perhaps actually becoming fond of the Hotel crew (at this point I'm sure he's there for an ulterior motive beyond "entertainment" and I enjoyed his and Lucifer's little competition for Charlie's father-affection so crossing my fingers on the Hotel becoming their own little family with Alastor (and Lucifer, too) as the overprotective father(s) lmao), and I am dying to see Husk get even a fraction of his Overlord power back and help kick Valentino's ass (ultimately I don't think Husk will be the one to overthrow Valentino but y'know I want to see him get a W) but. The timing. And two songs in multiple episodes is too much- if over half of the runtime of your episode is song, it's too much.

Anyway the point I'm trying to make is that the timing is too fast, and if Helluva Boss was fast then Hazbin is a speedrun. If this was Helluva type writing, the Vaggie thing would not have been revealed until season 2, and Husk would probably have been hinted to have been an Overlord once upon a time IN STORY, not just in promotional work, up until it's revealed. And Angel would have actually had a reaction, unless it is well known already, which considering people's reactions to him I don't think it is.

I still enjoy the show, don't get me wrong, but anyway those are just my complaints. They need to slow it down, we're getting too many secrets all at once.

..... Anyway I want to see Husk wipe the floor. Alastor kept him alive for a reason, and I doubt when he first won Husk's souls (and all the souls Husk owned, I assume) he would have given a single damn about a drunk gambling cat demon, so... I wanna know their deal.

At least with how fast this show moves I won't have to wait long to find out, huh?

I just finished Tears of the Kingdom! 

(SPOILERS BELOW) 

I had a lot of fun! The sages were awesome, Link was awesome, Matt Mercer as Ganondorf was awesome, I really enjoyed the final battle! If I was more skilful with dodging and flurry rushes I think the fight with Ganondorf would have felt just like a duel, since he had so many cool moves and parries and whatnot! Really very fun to play :) 

I loved all of the end cutscenes, whilst it would have been nice to see Link’s reaction during the sage’s vow 2.0 everything else was perfect. Also! I don’t need to feel guilty about Zeldragon being lonely for thousands of years anymore! She doesn’t remember any of it! And she said she felt as though she had been sleeping all this time and was woken by something like a warm loving embrace - it was so sweet, Link and Raaru and Sonya’s power felt to her like a loving hug :)

Sidon was amusingly tall in the sages second vow bit! he he! I love him. 

Controversially, I liked that they gave Mineru a proper send off vs the botw champions, whom they didn't. I think the games have been contrasting that sadly spent life and loss with fighting for your friends and companionship. I thought it worked with the theme and the mood really well. Also, again, derpy eyed zeldragon is adorable. 

The only thing I would change, would be Link’s arm. I feel like having had it either gone completely or just a now no longer magical Raaru’s arm might have been better.

I should start counting the times I start crying over Akutagawas death and Atsushi and his relationship I eep thinking about the fact that Atsushi will never forgive himself for letting Akutagawa die in the first place, how that guilt is slowly gonna eat at him until there's nothing left but bones in the place of what once was a man-

I've watched like. 5 episodes of the live-action Netflix AtLA series and i need to say. something

obvs spoilers under the cut and i won't put it under my usual atla tag

WHAT THEY DID TO BUMI'S CHARACTER WAS A DISGRACE

LIKE OBVSLY I UNDERSTAND IT BUT I STILL HATE IT

like. the new things that they add to the story do not make up for everything they took away

i get that they were scrapped for time but i hate how squashed and condensed the plot is in each episode, it feels like the story is cramped and can't breathe

and everyone keeps saying that Aang is just a goofy kid, but they never show him being goofy? he's just serious and wise all the time and it just. sucks the whimsy out of the story. the whole point of Aang being silly & goofy most of the time is to make the serious scenes more impactful and here they just... aren't. like honestly a lot of the emotional beats are just a miss for me.

I would have respected them more if they had let Gyasto tell Aang that he wouldn't let the other monks take him away!!! that was his best line in the show and taking it away changes his character!!!

and my god the scene where they show the Airbenders getting massacred in the first episode??? you fools it wasn't about the cool fight between airbenders and firebenders it was never about that!!!

i swear there are things i like about this series, i swear but...

the references to the running gags in the old show are funny but shallow

i did like the scene with Chong and the travelling musicians

i never liked The Great Divide episode so that was the only thing I was glad to see go

of course the cinematography is excellent

and I like that Azula, Mai & Ty Lee are fat

but it's just. so much of the bad stuff overpowers the good

am i going to keep watching the series? yeah, bc i'm stubborn like that, but then I'm going back to watch the original cartoon
