Iron Fist Rewatch: 1x03: Rolling Thunder Cannon Punch
That's so terrifying. You look an entitled asshole in the eyes and say "no" when he tries to pressure you into doing something morally corrupt that would actively hurt another person - one who has specifically asked you for help - and then armed home invaders break in in the middle of the night. Ward is basically the mafia boss that Colleen has just pissed off, from her POV. No wonder she hates him.
Wow, now I want the fanfic where Colleen keeps calling Ward a mafia boss to his face. "Just because I'm under your mafia family's protection NOW doesn't make that time you put out a hit on me any better, mobster." "'Mob-' I never put out any 'hit'. I'm not the mafia." "You don't need to bother with pretence here, mob guy." (Danny helpfully does not point out that Ward definitely put out a hit on him, but the entire room is still painfully aware.)
Danny: Sorry the people trying to kill me broke your lock.
Colleen doesn't for one second find it out of the question that the cops might be in on the whole "corrupt rich white man is doing shady illegal things and trying to have a 'problem' 'fixed'" thing. Danny does, ("I haven't broken any law?") because Danny spent ten years as a rich white boy and then the next 15 in a culture completely separated from the rest of the world's reality. Or: Danny, a rich white boy, trusts the police. Colleen, who tries to make her dojo a safe space for a bunch of underprivileged majority bipoc kids living in the "bad part of town", does not.
Possibly the reason they speedrun us through Ward going up to the penthouse again is to remind the viewers how obnoxious it is to get up there before we see Danny climb the building later?
I forgot about this freaky tube thing. What is that? High tech coffin? lol. There's an implied "you should be unsettled by this" vibe to Harold's whole "it's so peaceful in here, I can't help but doze off" but when I don't know what the tube is the context is kind of lost on me.
Again with Ward calmly asking for an explanation about such a seemingly insane business choice, especially one that he's going to have to explain to people, and Harold brushing him off. Infuriating. And let's just toss in a sprinkling of "Joy has always been and always will be better than you, who can't do anything."
Harold: "Doesn't it occur to you that I'm doing this all for you?" Me: "SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP I HATE YOU." He doesn't even just say "I'm doing this for you." No, he has to say "Doesn't it occur to you that I'm doing this for you?" Rather than simply lying, he just has to back Ward into that corner. Ugh. UGH.
Ward: closes his eyes, long huff of breath. I should start a count of how many times he does this.
MY SKIN IS CRAWLING. Freaking Harold. Ugh ugh ugh he's the worst.
Danny you realize you're both disrespecting Colleen AND talking about pretty sensitive subject matter right in front of her student?
Joy: "We need to do the right thing." Me: "You keep telling yourself you're a person who cares about that, Joy."
Joy used to do Ward's homework for him????
Like, what?
Seriously, what?
Was this supposed to be a cute exchange? Because my Asian American upbringing says it's NOT.
Joy: "In another life, this would have been romantic." Danny: "Gross, you're my sister."
"You and Ward, you're the only link to a life that I had. It kept me going under very difficult circumstances." ;___;
Joy talking about clinging to her dreams of Harold meeting her after school and holding her hand and smiling at her in her grief after he died is making me so miserable. To Joy, Harold means comfort.
Danny: *Starts talking about ghosts* Joy: Oh right, he's crazy.
Colleen: "You dishonor yourself when you fight for money."
Jeri, who has literally been mind-controlled, almost got murdered slowly and painfully, and brought a killer to her wife,
Young intern Jeri Hogarth calling the boss's secretary a "hatchet faced bitch" and then bribing said boss's 10yrs or younger kid not to tell is. Well. It sure is a thing.
I still want Danny inviting Jeri to Defenders friend group hangouts and Foggy and Marci both blanching. Jessica and Jeri can snark at each other and Danny can be like "You're friends too! I didn't know!! :D"
Honestly, I would have watched a whole show on the intricacies of classism issues, with the Elite like Jeri and the Meachums teaching Danny how to live and maneuver in that world and Colleen and the dojo and Big Al teaching Danny about the reality of life for the lower class, and our golden-hearted Danny in the center of it, consistently determined to do what's Right,
Joy: lol, isn't this such a fun, teasing, sibling-banter thing we do, me joking about how I'm going to close this deal and you would only endanger it?
Harold: punches trainer full in the face, then casually suggests weapons next time while the guy is still groaning on the ground
Is Gao terrorizing Harold and making him kneel on glass supposed to make me feel for Harold? No one deserves this but that doesn't make Harold magically not a monster.
Danny.... just taking over lecturing the class is not respectful to Darryl or Colleen either.
Danny: "What kind of soldier training is this? They're acting like kids!" Colleen: "That's the POINT! I am not training them to be soldiers, I am creating a safe space for them to be kids when they usually can't be in the rest of their lives." Danny's warped K'un Lun upbringing really shows here. It's heartbreaking to remember that Colleen isn't just some good samaritan either - that she was raised in a cult too and has her own warped upbringing viewpoints.
A line I need to appear in a Ward/Misty/Claire pov fic: "Colleen tends to seem normal because most of the time she's next to Danny. It's easy to forget that actually, she's completely batshit."
Colleen keeps throwing Danny out for bringing trouble to her doorstep and then not really fighting it when he sticks around anyway (Which: Danny. Danny, this is problematic behavior, Danny.) - it's when he becomes a danger to her students that she gets serious about it. Even if Danny wouldn't physically harm them again, he is now a drain on their mental health: he represents a potential danger, a reason to be constantly on guard, and a removal of their safe space.
Ward clearly has no idea what the heck Joy is doing. It's all very troubling and this family is so messed up.
The way Ward ever so slightly shakes his head at Joy as she bribes Patel with his nephew's actual life.
The blanket into snow is a great transition shot
Joy feels like Ward refuses to tell her things the same way Harold refuses to tell Ward things! But Ward doesn't actually have the ability to tell Joy anything because he doesn't know anything! Ugh!!
On Joy's desk: a photo of her and Ward toasting at some party. She also has a copy on her shelf at home.
Joy poured her blood sweat and tears into Rand. She's proud of it. To Ward, it's a prison.
Wait so their plan is that there's no record that Danny Rand ever existed? Like, besides. The city's collective memory? People know about Danny Rand, guys. You need to delete the ability to connect this adult man to Danny Rand, not young Danny's entire paper trail. I mean, anything linking them would be included in literally everything about Danny but still. Seems unnecessary and suspicious?? I know nothing about crime.
Jeri casually constantly reminding Danny that the Meachums are the corrupt villains of this story must be really messing with Danny's head. Not that she's wrong. Poor boy.
"Isn't it obvious!? I'm not your sister. He's not your brother. We don't want you here." brb crying forever
I have to appreciate that this fight moderator is actually trying to run a semi-safe tight ship behind the showmanship
"Cut the Floyd Mayweather shit." Floyd Mayweather: a former professional boxer, competed from 1996-2015. Often referred to as the best defensive boxer in history, as well as the most accurate puncher. Nicknamed "Pretty Boy" by his amateur teammates because his defensive technique left him with relatively few scars.
That whole Randy biting Colleen (breaking the rules about going too far laid out at the start of the fight) and then her climbing on top of him to keep on punching after he's down was really framed like one of those troubling "the hero loses control and it's bad" type scenes.
I am very curious about Jeri and the Meachums' history. Jeri and Ward snark at each other so much in this meeting. And they definitely seem amused while doing so. Also Joy was like "Hogarth" at Ward earlier, and Jeri described their relationship as "complicated" to Danny.
Ward slumps down in his seat so he's lower than anyone else in the room, despite probably being the tallest. This is probably meant as a show of dismissiveness: Danny's case is so insignificant that he doesn't need to respect them by sitting up straight - but it IS interesting, from a power dynamics in staging perspective.
Ward, who has a constant escape plan of stealing from his employees and running away with Joy, plus was literally talking about leaving and starting over with nothing earlier in this same episode: "It could have been easy. You could have taken the money and had a great life."
The elevator level can be controlled by the lobby man???
Another picture of presumably child Joy on Harold's desk, as a toddler this time. How many does he have?? This is cruel set dressing.
Harold playing on Ward's loyalty again. "I need you to help me. I don't have anyone else."

Arcana Apprentice: Kallor!
Tumblr media
Name: Kallor
They don't actually know their last name, because it gave them memory headaches (unlike their first name, strangely). However, it's pretty standard for people to take a last name based on their occupation, so Kallor is known to Vesuvia's records and law-keepers as Kallor Mystic.
Kallor thinks it sounds stupid. They're right. It's Asra's fault; he's the one who registered it. And he is going to give them grief for their dumb last name for the rest of their lives.
Gender: Probably magician? Probably magician.
"Are you a man or a woman?"
"I'm an Arcana."
"No no, I mean - what gender are you?"
"Magician!"
"But what's in your pants?!"
Kallor, smugly: "Magic."
Pronouns: they/them and she/her. Usually they/them. Sometimes they feel more she/her, but they tell people they can assume Kallor's a they unless they specifically say they're having a she/her day. They're indifferent to whether people use female or non-gendered titles; they look very feminine, so they're pretty accustomed to people assuming they're a she and aren't bothered by it. They just casually correct the person and move on.
Physical Characteristics: 178 cm tall; 69 kg.
They're a wee bit shorter than Nadia, but they're also just a wee bit taller than Lucio. You bet they're going to lord this over him forever, because his offended screeches sound exactly like Camio and it's fantastic.
"No, Asra, I do not care that he's mildly evil, or that we're currently in the middle of a battle and he's sort of our ally, or that you and Portia are both shorter than him. I'm going to make short jokes anyway."
Engaged to Nadia! Honestly, they're adorable together. Kallor would fight a tree for Nadia.
Nicknames: My love, for both of them; Kallor uses Nads, Nadi, and my dawn; Nadia uses Kal, Kally, and my sunrise. She also compares Kallor to a summer sky sometimes.
She's also very gay for badass Kallor, who is strong enough to yeet Muriel across a room with one hand when their magic gets out of hand since it raises their physical abilities. (They only know this because it happened. Kallor lost it, Muriel tried to calm them down, and Kallor was having none of it. But it was fine, Muriel was unhurt and the others snapped Kallor out of it. They were very sorry,)
Kallor is very gay for soft Nadia with her hair loose and a sweet smile.
LOTS more info and pictures below the cut!
Personality: Pensive and analytical. Prefers thinking things through to rushing in. However, they can and will throw down if they feel it's necessary or if they're angry enough.
Kallor after the events of the game much more likely to fight someone than before; they fought the Devil, they've sort of stopped being anti-confrontational.
They're usually level-headed, but they're no more immune to emotions than anyone else. If you push their buttons right, you can make them lose their head just like anyone else.
They and Asra are BFFs following the events of what I headcanon happening to the crew after the events of Nadia's route (hehehe more HCs).
At first, their relationship is rocky after the end of the route. Asra didn't manage to help Kallor recover their memories, Kallor privately resents that, even if they feel bad about feeling that way, and the master-apprentice power dynamic remains.
Kallor eventually gets stressed enough to blow up and scream at Asra, who freezes in shock, but it destroys their power dynamic. Asra no longer sees Kallor as vulnerable, and they see him as an equal rather than a master.
Asra then works his ass off to help them recover their lost past, and this is the final piece of the puzzle. Kallor hugs him and says they're sorry and Asra is also really sorry, and basically their situation in general was spectacularly awful and they agree while they both made mistakes, neither of them is particularly to blame.
They were queer-platonic partners before Asra left Vesuvia because of the plague. Their relationship is different, as they no longer live together and both have partners, but no less close. They're also a lot more prone to roasting each other for fun.
Nadia builds them a lily garden in a greenhouse that later gets expanded to include all sorts of plants and an attached workroom for magic. Lilies are Kallor's favorite flower. It's essentially Kallor's happy place.
It's actually multiple greenhouses and conservatories combined, built over about five years, and Kallor adores it. They're also very productive when they're there and think best surrounded by nature as it turns out, so win-win. There are fountains and a pond, and there's also a Butterfly Room!
Pepi is not allowed in the Lily Room, because lilies are highly toxic for cats. However, the lilies are not allowed to be anywhere except the Lily Room and The Workroom, where Pepi isn't allowed anyway, because she, like literally every other familiar (Malak is also on the permanent ban list), has a bad habit of knocking stuff off Kallor's shelves. Even Faust has managed to get banned from time to time. This is in no small part because Kallor's workplace is organized chaos, and it's very easy to knock things over.
Nadia: "Have they always been this bad????"
Asra: "Yes."
Kallor, laughing: "Yeah, he used to always gripe about coming home to the shop being a mess. I know where everything is, what's the big deal?"
Asra and Nadia, simultaneously, gesturing to the disaster that is Kallor's workspace: "THIS IS THE BIG DEAL!!!"
No one's sure how Kallor moves around in there without ever falling or knocking things off the stacks of books and furniture all over the place. Especially when they're reading, speed-walking, and drinking water all at the same time. They don't trip at all or even spill a single drop of water. Julian calls it occult witchy sh*t and refuses to go in there; Asra's convinced Kallor has somehow warped space; Nadia insists that Kallor is just that graceful, but, really, it is mildly suspicious????
They're close friends with Julian, Portia, Natiqa, Nahara, Muriel, and Nasmira.
They call Julian "Julie," and he can't decide if he likes it, doesn't mind it, or absolutely hates it. They get along like a house on fire, and Nadia and Asra aren't sure if they should be alarmed or not.
He calls them "Kally," one day, and they're both surprised by it; they discover they were quite close even before Kallor joined his clinic.
Treats Portia like a baby sister. Dotes on her but also has playful banter. Asra and Nadia are pretty sure Kallor was Portia and Julian's third sibling in a past life, between this relationship with Portia and their friendship with Julian.
Natiqa's reaction to the engagement was basically "NICE BLUE-HAIRED BUDDY." Kallor goes to Natiqa when they need politics help and Nadia is busy.
Nahara teaches them hand to hand at Kallor's request, and they soon bond. She's Kallor's go-to person when Kallor needs to talk to someone emotionally mature because everyone else is being dramatic, especially if everyone is Nadia. Nahara is calm and self-confident and knows what she's doing. We like Nahara.
Kallor can and will tease Muriel about his relationship with Asra, but it's all light, and they stop when he gets uncomfortable.
Muriel is keenly aware he's living in the shop that belonged to Kallor's family. Kallor, however, is not aware of this, because memory loss! Asra couldn't tell them without giving them headaches. Honestly, it's a miracle they could even live in the shop.
This is awkward. However, Muriel soon realizes that Kallor is kind and protective and won't hurt people. He likes helping them raise their plants. Kallor wanted high-ceilinged greenhouses anyway, but they make sure the entire place is built big enough for him to move around.
They and Nasmira bond over "fLOWERS" and teasing Nadia.
They don't get along with Lucio at all. Their relationship with him is basically "THIS IS FOR NADIA, ASSFACE." Everyone constantly has to hold them back.
None of them want to hold Kallor back, particularly Asra, Julian, and Portia (as Lucio force-fed her brother a plague beetle), but still reluctantly stop them.
They also repeatedly call him out for being rude to Nadia and abusing his power over Muriel, Julian, Asra + parents, and Vesuvia.
Kallor does not have time for your BS, Lucio.
Nadia stands off to the side and cheers Kallor on.
Don't get me wrong. I think Nadia-route Lucio deserves a redemption. Kallor will eventually help him get it, but they'll sass him every inch of the way.
Favorite Food: Granita. A delicacy that's hard to find, but Kallor adores it.
Favorite Drink: Iced oolong
"...Basic."
"ASRA, FOR THE TENTH TIME, IT'S NOT BASIC JUST BECAUSE IT ISN'T IMPOSSIBLE TO PRONOUNCE and it's better than your lapsang souchong!"
"Sure, Kallor."
"Listen Asra I do not want a lecture about taste from a guy who's favorite food is roasted skink-"
Favorite Flower: Lilies
They're particularly fond of wood lilies (red) and tiger lilies (orange).
As stated above, lilies are violently toxic to cats. Kallor is careful to keep the lilies far away from Pepi. Portia isn't mad because Kallor is so meticulous about it -- Kallor adores Pepi and never lets her get hurt.
Interestingly, lilies are also often used at funerals; they symbolize resorted innocence following death. Ironic, huh?
About the pictures:
The first picture, above, shows Kallor in one of their typical work outfits during a day at the palace.
The second picture, below, shows Kallor in their masquerade costume, sans mask. They're smiling softly and speaking to Nadia, with a red lily given to them by Nadia entwined in their hair. Red lilies symbolize passion, and lilies in general symbolize devotion.
The third picture, below, is Kallor in the final parts of Nadia's route, in the Arcana Realms, probably about to fight something. It also shows their work hairstyle, a loose braid with their bangs free.
Not shown with the pictures are Kallor's earrings, a gift from Nadia. They would be wearing them in the latter two situations. Nadia gave them to them just before the Masquerade. They're double teardrops and the same shade of purple as the earrings in the first and third shots, the same shade of purple as Nadia's hair.
I couldn't find a reference, but if you want the general idea, look up Katarina Claes (an anime character), look at her earrings, and then imagine them as purple gems with white metal.

11, 14, and 17 for Ryder Character Questions plz
11. As they unlock the memories, how does this change, if at all, their view of their parents?
After unlocking the first memory cache, Scott wondered what secrets his father Alec kept from him and Sara―only to begin to have doubts, that maybe there was more going on than he initially thought. Seeing his mother again made Scott’s heart ache knowing Ellen was going to die due to her terminal illness caused by repeated exposure to element zero and how helpless everyone felt that they couldn’t cure her.
The more memories Scott found, his feelings towards his father changed noticeably. What started as resentment stemming from his early childhood turned into sorrow and guilt, remembering having multiple arguments with his father and how Scott wished he could’ve taken back everything he said to Alec. He sacrificed his own life to save his children. Now all Scott can do is to make his father proud by carrying on his duties as Pathfinder.
14. How about Nexus leadership and the people on the Nexus in general?
Scott gets along well with Nakmor Kesh and Tiran Kandros; he initially had a hostile confrontation with Foster Addison when they first met, but they both learned to settle their issues and put their differences aside as more colonies became more viable.
Meanwhile, Scott and Jarun Tann remain professional since they both know each of them mean well, though that doesn’t stop certain disagreements popping up at least once in a while―from their differences about the krogan to deciding how best to incorporate the Initiative’s influence in the Heleus cluster, particularly since Scott endorsed Moshae Sjefa as interim Ambassador to the Nexus when Tann wanted a salarian Pathfinder (Raeka or Hayjer) instead.
17. Did Ryder fall in love? If so, with whom? What drew them to that person? Would their sibling approve?
Scott fell in love with Cora Harper, his second-in-command who also served under his father Alec Ryder. What made them grow close was how they both felt when Alec died, how each of them sought a new life in Andromeda and Cora explaining how her biotics made others feel wary of her and literally treated her badly in such a subtle way―her parents, the Alliance and Taelin’s Daughters’ CO Nisira. The more they spoke, the more Scott felt bad for her.
Although their relationship was tense at first when Cora was passed over for the position of Pathfinder in favor of Scott, even though she was next in line to succeed him, they were able to put their differences aside for the sake of fulfilling the Initiative’s main objective. As Cora and Scott worked closely together, she developed a deal of respect for him, then later they traded flirtatious banter with each other. It was after understanding each other on so deep a level that they realized the depth of their attraction for each other.
Following the rescue mission of the asari Ark Leusinia from the kett, Cora and Scott grew close and became romantically involved when they shared their first kiss on Eos.
As for Sara Ryder’s opinion? She approves of their relationship, agreeing with Dr. Lexi T’Perro that Scott and Cora make a good match. Sara would treat Cora more like a sister (and potential sister-in-law if things go smoothly) and accept her with open arms, asking her to take care of her brother―though warning her in a friendly tone “you break his heart, I’ll break your neck.”

Andromeda liveblog: day one
Spoilers!
Eos/Tempest:
The Vault is beautiful! Even though the moving bridges, just like the floating rocks on Habitat 7, are blatantly copy-pasted from Trespasser.
Drack said the fight was fun. Of course it was -- that was the first time I used Annihilation/Charge/Nova!
Military or science -- how is that even a question? :D
Even back in the trial, I instantly became fond of the Tempest crew, in a way different from the Normandy. Not bound by the blood they spilled together -- but a team of nerds and people taking care of those nerds, pretty much. Feels more like the Enterprise!
What helps is that there's already a net of relationships between everyone -- I was thinking about it when Drack was revealed to be Kesh's father and talked about their problems with Tann and their relationship with Vetra. The Nexus backstory really gives depth to this game.
I didn't expect this, but I actually do like Peebee! Since her first trailer appearance, I've been annoyed with her -- obligatory asari LI, shitty design with a sexualized outfit and eyebrows, manic pixie dream girl-ish image -- but her personality won me over. She's a bit similar to my Ryder, and they clicked instantly -- two young, energetic explorers. And she doesn't seem too quirky so far, just a very extroverted nerd. And she has something nice to say about everyone on the ship!
You know, I've been wishing for a romance with a nerdy but genuinely nice person (unlike a certain elf...) and looks like I have not one but two -- and female! -- options here! :D
The first flirt option with Peebee is good, the second is not.
Ah yes, a readheaded religious wlw written by the same person as Leliana... Look, Leliana is special to me, but this is just annoying. Maybe because Leliana is special.
Another convo with Vetra: "Someone had to know" "Did your father?" "I'm not sure" LOOK THE CONFIRMATIONS JUST KEEP ROLLING IN
Oh, here comes the flirt option I've seen on Youtube! I feel a bit awkward hitting on both of them repeatedly... Will I, on my seventh Bioware game, finally encounter a jealousy conversation?
Peebee has attractive personality, but Vetra's fashion style is obviously superior.
*looks at Liam's handsome face, sighs and stops herself from hitting the heart because that'd be a bit too much*
Nexus/Hyperion:
I love that Tann is the only real politician around, and everybody won't stop complaining about him, even though he's completely benign :D
It's a great feeling that doing sidequests is completely justified this time. In this game, it's literally my job to fly around and ensure random strangers' wellbeing! Oh look, someone on Reddit made a post appreciating this too.
"Your father is my problem. He's everyone's problem. We're all paying for Alec Ryder's ego. He preyed on Jien Garson's trusting nature and bulldozed us to this godforsaken place" !!! More evidence!! (Random angry woman on the Hyperion)
This is a great way to introduce flashbacks! And to reveal information gradually.
SAM is basically the third Ryder child, huh.
The camera angle and lighting in SAM's room is one of the most flattering in the game.
I'm glad we're actually giving spotlight to the transhumanism theme, unlike with Shepard...
Or maybe SAM is Ellen's reincarnation somehow? It's clear Alec somehow intended to save her with it, but how? I'm genuinely enjoying this mystery. Alec sure has a lot of character and presence, especially for a character with so little actual screentime... You can see his shadow over the entire story.
There's some nice animation at Scott's bedside!
"Is dad okay?" Shit. Shit. Now that's a choice...
(I mean, what she's saying will turn out to be true, hopefully...)
I didn't lie about Habitat 7, though. That's not as important.
Holy crap, that was an emotional scene.
I like Garson's Super Ethical VI Interview.
Professor Gerik in the lab on Nexus has a letter about us being invasive species and preserving local biodiversity! That's nice. (But on the other hand, we'd endanger it just as much if the Scourge hadn't done it first.)
Female Salarians look like male Salarians and sound like female humans. I should just learn to live with the fact that there'll be no real Salarian voices in this galaxy... Ugh.
Ahh Drack is visiting Kesh!!
Have I mentioned how fond I am of our new council/advisors? Kandros is a bit bland, but the other three are great.
30 minutes after I said that SAM is like another sibling to Ryder, he got infected with a virus. Give this family a break!
Of course the hackers were wrong etc, but the things hacked!Avina says are still absolutely correct...
BTW I chose to unfreeze merchants first -- to get the bigger inventory. Ugh, the lack of inventory was one of my favourite things about ME2 and ME3...
I had to read a walkthrough for "Station Sabotage"...
I like the design of Zara's face.
The Nexus sidequests are all about intrigue and investigation! Just like the main one about Alec, and the characters' backstories related to the uprising. Nice. I feel like a detective. It really gives the game a unique feel.
The saboteur has a good face too. And another sympathetic voice re: the uprising.
Tempest
Cora the gardener!
Damn, that speech about acceptance sure sounds like she's not talking about biotics... Why is she straight, Bioware?
Poor Cora. I can only continue to admire her ability to not hold grudges -- something that impressed me about her when Ryder became the Pathfinder.
It's so cute that the crew members have a group chat, have I mentioned? Really makes the ship look alive.
Vetra, Peebee, Gil and Liam are chatting like old friends! And the fact that they're playing poker reminds me of the Enterprise even more.
Eos
A timed mission to save colonists... with driving... I was so nervous!
FUCK I can't figure out this Fiend fight
I died like four times already what the fuck
Why can't I charge?! What do you mean "wrong target"?!
Also autosave glitches me through the floor every goddamn time!
Died about 8 times, I'm going to replace Peebee with Drack and turn down the difficulty
Oh thank fuck, this time it worked.
*can't find the evidence in the cave* *fast travel back to the start three or four times, get stuck on rocks*
Oh, here it is. Yeah, I enjoy playing detective, but I'd like less bugs!
I died and the game got stuck on reload
Alright, some sidequests are in the level 3 radiation zone which I don't know how to clear, and I can't find the bodies of the dead colonists. It got boring anyway. Back to the ship!
Tempest
Gil sends me an e-mail mentioning Jaal, whom I haven't even met...
Kallo's still arguing with Gil -- I'm pretty sure there's something going on he's not noticing... Nobody else has anything new to say. Let's advance the plot, then.
New solar system/Tempest/Nexus
Whoa, I didn't expect things to get so intense immediately!
Sooo, are you going to explain how the angara got the translators working within several minutes?
Are you trying to tell me the kett and the angara aren't related, despite having exactly the same faces?
Jaal's cape flapping is mesmerizing.
I don't understand, why is everyone being so weird and unprofessional?? Instead of opening normal diplomatic talks, they stand in a circle and say shit about Jaal in his presence. Why the hell are they being so entitled? If the angara help us, of course we need to offer something in return.
Liam, what movie night?! We're kind of busy!
Well, at least Jaal isn't going to let me exhaust all conversation topics in one go! :D
"I LIVE IN AN ESCAPE POD" :D
Stop! Prompting! Me! To! Flirt! With! Gil! Two different times in the same conversation -- what??
Okay, by this point I'm pretty sure that the poker mentions are not just a coincidence but a deliberate reference to TNG.
When will I have enough materials for an asari sword? Maybe a quick trip to the Nexus will help. *immediately gets buried under sidequests*
What, you don't have laws for attempted murder? That has never happened in the entire history of Milky Way? Bioware sure likes to create a complex situation then make you decide between two extremes. I let the turian stay, but I'm not impressed.
What, and they didn't even tell the public what really happened? Ugh.
Pacified the protesters successfully.
Was prepared to go and realized I forgot one sidequest on the Nexus, went back... I need to stop doing this! It's ruining all momentum.
Havarl (not sure about the spelling)
Main plot again, here we go!
Oops, clicked on the wrong button and now my team still has Vetra instead of Peebee.
Nice scenery.
Okay, it's stupid to leave the planet just to swap squadmates, but it's even stupider to explore this planet without Peebee.
Oh right, there is a spot here for a forward station. (Don't the angara mind?)
There's an entire alien jungle, and nothing is scannable? Really?
@myself stop fucking dying... how am I supposed to fight enemies I don't see without any reasonable cover...
Oh, right, this is normal water, not the Deadly Electric Water. That's a relief, at least.
Oh look, normal cover, I can use my ranged powers like an adept/sentinel I intended to be instead of novaguarding.
Spent like half an hour trying to find a way towards the forward station mark on the east, gave up. This Pathfinder isn't very good at finding paths...
Let's find the gay turian Pathfinder!
What am I going to do with all this nickel? These aren't the materials I'm looking for, Bioware
And finally, after exploring everything else -- the Monolith!
This happened again: the profiles refuse to switch mid-fight. WTF???
"Follow the Remnant river?" You mean, what I've done an hour before? I sure hope the Remnant didn't respawn...
So the Remnant are Order and the Scourge is Chaos? I see we've arrived to witness an existential struggle of cosmic forces...
Why are my companions so useless during exploration? They don't give advice, they don't even have banter like in DA.
Oh GREAT, a jumping puzzle, and in the dark too.
I must say, the design is really beautiful, they nailed the intersection of "Alien", "Ancient" and "Powerful" here. Though I'm salty because it's just a sci-fi variation of the ancient elven design from DAI, which means DA4 won't be able to use it probably.
Nice view! @people with powerful PCs, please photograph these things for the rest of us!
Novaguarding+shotgun (only a Katana!) is so powerful I don't feel the need to do anything else...
We're nearly at the top and there's a health pack. I better save...
The plot thickens!
Oh. Is THIS the forward station I've been looking for? No wonder I didn't find it lmao. They should have just covered it in fog...
Why are shields so much harder to take down than armor? Ugh, that boss. At least on the second try I managed to kite him...
Yes, I climbed the column. Whatever. I got some Vanadium! Finally, I need it for my asari sword.
Oh, okay, THIS is the forward station from above. OK.
One of the enemies I had to defeat in a camp got stuck somewhere and I had to run around for 10 minutes before I found him, except I didn't even see him and he apparently died when I approached, but idk how it happened.
I met the reincarnated dude. And that's enough for today.
