#Alex#the best experience I’ve had playing Stardew Valley was in OBX#when the weather was horrible and we couldn’t really do the whole ‘beach vacation’ thing cause it was fucking wimdy and raining#so literally every one of us was playing Stardew Valley on various different consoles and just shouting out advice and accomplishments#I remember Alex’s mom yelling for romance advice. I had the wiki open ready to go with tips. all of us planning our crops.#we weren’t even on a collaborative farm we were all playing individually but this was a full on team mission

#shhh sharkie#my friend offered to help me get a well-paying desk job at her workplace#‘well paying’ being still not an astronomical amount but still almost double what I’m making now#but it’s completely out of the animal field. like completely unrelated.#the company doesn’t matter cause it sounds like she’s gonna help me get an HR job#so I would just be dealing with like timesheets and on/off boarding#idk if she’s gonna pull through either way but. idk it feels weird to completely leave the field.#I just have to remember if I’m going to actually go through with this that it doesn’t mean I have to leave the field forever#maybe I do this for two years and then move into an HR position back at the aquarium.#either way it might not happen. we were very stoned yesterday lol so hopefully she remembers at all.

i do honestly fuck so hard with any fantasy or otherwise not a direct 1:1 recreation of the real world setting that acknowledges that mental illness and trauma still exist without compromising the fundamentally different common societal perceptions that would develop around it as a result of that convergent timeline. i love that it allows for more immersive worldbuilding without denying the reality of people's experiences to achieve it. like you can still have PTSD it's just called battle sickness or some shit.
