I feel like when people don't have a solid reason to not forgive a character. Suddenly, the victims' feelings are taken into account, and things that were forgivable elsewhere are suddenly not okay. Ultimately I'd really like to be like all biases are valid because that's how Milgram is. However, going how dare you be honest with your wife while simultaneously stating you shouldn't have lied in the first place is about the funniest contradiction I've ever heard.
Because it's like damned if you do damned if you don't logic. This is made funnier that apparently some people's lines in the sand are quite literally, "I can excuse/defend blatant murder but I draw the line at not being honest".
Like admittedly I feel a certain way and the ammount of effort people are going to in an attempt to go hold on don't say gender has a part in this or point out the blatant hypocrisy when it comes to this and Mahiru's case is just blatantly disingenuous. To me, it feels like basically saying don't defend that man by saying what he and Mahiru did are similar or try to explain anything or even state your feelings on the matter.
All while lacking any self-awareness of one's own personal biases or how biases exist at all. Like at one point this trial, the fandom is going abortion is a choice all women should have. Yet, now people are going getting a divorce is something people need to really consider the wellbeing of their partner before doing. A good partner would really consider how this would make the other party look or feel if they go forward with something like that.
Somehow, not realizing or choosing not to realize this is the exact reason he expressly states he should have just kept lying. I fundamentally do not and frankly don't want to understand how someone could imply something so damaging for people of all genders.
Especially when no fault divorce is currently under scrutiny again in the United States. The last thing anyone should be doing is re-stigmatizing peoples right to end a relationship whenever one of the parties sees fit. It is just such a regressive mindset, in my opinion.
The statements I've been made aware of through other parties are incredibly damaging and disrespectful to years of progress made in this area. So, I'd like to say just to make where I'm at crystal clear if anyone is feeling a certain way about how Kazui's trial is going, I get it.
If anyone is annoyed about others wanting to put a blanket over all the hypocrisy, denouncing divorce as a concept and option that many people should have the right to pursue if necessary for any reason, or even just the focus being put on simply the lying and not the actual murder. I want to make this clear that the real world is not Milgram's verdict, and there are people in this world who understand that saying these sort of things, behaving in this sort of way, is not helpful to anyone.
These are people reaching to prove a point because they hate a fictional man so much that they refuse to evaluate who that point may hurt. Stooping to that level over something like this is an easy way to get into an endless mud slinging contest. End of story.
At the end of the day, all ten prisoners are objectively and irrefutably murderers. However, to be candid, I've seen people defend worse in this fandom, which says a lot about how ridiculously disparaging this is to see considering the logic being used to support a guilty verdict that I've heard. I hope this isn't a downer of a post.
I'm leaving it untagged because it might be, and reblogs are off because these are just my personal feelings overall. But- yeah. . . Shit sucks to see can't even lie.
#gunsli rambles#despite having a clear idea of what kazui has done i'm more committed to keep voting him innocent#the more i hear about the logic being used to support a guilty verdict#like as a child of divorced parents i can tell anyone straight up making divorce sound like a bad thing is the best way to piss me off#take that sanctity of marriage shit and shove it#it's always going to seem healthier to me to end a relationship then keep living in one that's bad#everyone regardless of identity should have the right to a way out#like lambast him for the murder not this damn

Extermination 8.7
In which nobody is happy and everything is pain
Wuh oh, the worst chapter of Taylor's life has just received a series of footnotes that provide further context, and none of them are making her feel any better
And now things are getting even worse
Hey Colin, looks like you've lost some weight, trying something new with the asymmetrical look?
Also I like how even Taylor's paranoid ass is like "no you know what, they didn't need to know Sophia was a superhero for them to fuck me over"
Really copping it up in here, huh you two?
This is bad for everybody. A supervillain who's taken explicit actions against the PRT and Protectorate has discovered the identity of a Ward, and a teenage girl is being surrounded and lambasted by adults who could make her life Hell with very little effort.
God, Birdcage would be nightmarish, especially with Lung in there probably nursing the mother of all grudges
Also, interesting that Taylor changing her mind translates to Armsmaster as her being a master manipulator and spinner of lies. There's no possible way that she stopped trying to be a hero because he acted like a gigantic asshole the second time they met or something.
Skitter has gotten the absolute worse perspective that the heroes can offer, so she's suffering a biased stance here, but even without that her anti-authority streak is way too strong to tolerate it for long
Don't throw a fucking shitfit, Colin
You're an adult, fucking act like one
Yaaaaaaay, the crew's alright and they're backing Skitter up, there's no way this immediately blows up
Grue is making himself look bigger in this moment, scarier, more authoritative. If I'm understanding right that means he's way on the fucking edge about all of this and feeling tense and a little scared.
Glad Regent got out of it with only some stitches, wonder if that cut is anything noteworthy or if he just got gouged by some glass or shrapnel or something
Bitch is handling things about as well as could be expected
Hey Tattletale, glad you're not dead
Oh boy!
Sophia would fucking lunge across the tent and go for the murder attempt then and there, I'm pretty sure
Also, Legend is technically right, insofar as Taylor has made a lot of situations more difficult by digging her heels in
Unfortunately, he would.
Look at her getting her little debut to the Protectorate leader
The greatest asset and weakness of the Protectorate: image
These people are about to get their shit rocked by a teenager with access to a PA system and I'm not convinced they didn't bring this on themselves
Also, love an ultimatum, very heroic
Tattletale you're so cool and real for this
We love an ultimatum, very villainous
Colin, you dumbfuck
I think the most damning part of this conversation is that Miss Militia literally doesn't have any trouble connecting the dots
There's the setup
And there's the knockdown. Armsmaster has once again been outplayed by a teenager, and now the best thing to do is probably to quit while he's behind
So of course he decides to double and triple down
Let's review facts here
Armsmaster is a grown-ass man who is really upset that a pack of teenagers are beating him
He has admitted, out loud, that he broke truce conditions and got villains killed in order to try and get a moment of glory
He knows full well that at least two of the Undersiders have killed before and may kill again if suitably motivated, such as, I don't know, finding out a teammate tried to betray them
So with everything in consideration
he throws a tantrum that could get a girl killed because of wounded pride
This hurts, a lot
Also hey early hint that Tattletale knows what's up
Panacea like "wow this girl is some kind of disaster, thank god my worldview guarantees that I'm way better than her"
Also Jesus fucking Christ what a way to end the chapter
Current Thoughts
God fucking dammit Colin, you could literally get a teenager killed because you had to throw a fucking tantrum over how you got your kill stolen and your super cool plan to win glory and recover lost pride got foiled by the common fucking sense of "you can't kill an Endbringer"
I know that isn't what happens, but hey guess what he doesn't know Taylor's story goes for another twenty-plus chapters, he's willing to roll those dice because his feewings got huwt
I hope they make him choke on whatever book ends up thrown at him for this

I would like to rant about something. It's been awhile since I've done that and it's been kinda bubbling under the surface for a long time.
Again: you can headcanon whatever the fuck you want, this just my "takes me out of a story" thing.
There have been a couple posts that I've seen going around lambasting people for using other names for Eddie then Edward (Edwin, Edison, Edmond etc) when it's on his missing poster as Edward Munson.
Only there is a couple things wrong with that.
One: Not everyone goes through every frame of the show and are actual causal viewers! I know, shocking! (heavy sarcasm here, folks) I personally had seen the missing poster gifed and screenshotted a billion times and never caught that they had his first and last name until someone pointed it out.
Two: it lists Eddie's age at 17. So how well can trust it, really? I know I've seen several takes from production getting the age wrong, to Wayne making him younger so people care, to Kas theory, to even Eddie being one of the kids that went missing before Will and his age is listed as what it would have been in 1983 (which could go either supernatural or Wayne just used the old missing poster from then).
So until there is something ELSE in the show that shows his name AS Edward, you can call him whatever you want, because canon just tells us that his name is Eddie.
So why am I bringing this up?
Because the people going around shouting this bit of information tend to also people who will use one or the other or even both of the next headcanons in their meta/fanfics.
1- Eddie CAN'T swim. This one always takes me out of the story when I see it because we have TWO on screen events that show him swimming. The first is the one most people forget. When Jason and his friends chase Eddie out onto the lake and he falls in. If he couldn't swim, dude would have DIED. But he makes it to Skull Rock. The second time is jumping after Steve. Trust as someone who can't swim, there is no way he would go jumping in after Steve if he couldn't. He would go back to shore and let the kids know what was going on.
So I tend to back out of a fic when I see it, because if you're off about that aspect of his character, I'm not sure I want to read further because what else might they get wrong about him.
2- This one is a doozy for me because it really makes me mad. When they say Wayne is Eddie's mom's brother.
"While all the other dads were teaching their kids to fish or to play ball...my old man was teaching me how to hotwire. Now I swore to myself I wouldn't wind up like he did, but now I'm wanted for murder and soon grand theft auto so...uh, yeah really living up to that Munson name."
Right, I had to transcribe the whole phrase because IMDb only had the hotwiring part. Because it's that last part that is so important to my point. Now I don't know if there are other ways to interpret that line, but if Wayne's last name is Munson and Eddie talks about living up to the Munson name...wouldn't the logic follow that Eddie's dad (named Allen Munson in the Stranger Things: First Shadow play and that's how I'll refer to him from now on to make it easier to type) is also a Munson? So if Wayne, Allen, and Eddie all share the same name wouldn't that make Wayne and Allen brothers?
Now, I think I know where this logic that Wayne is related to Eddie's mom and not his dad, is because how could sweet, hardworking Wayne be related to criminal, most likely in jail Al? Because I don't know who needs to hear this: but even growing up poor in a family that isn't known for its honest living (not that I think all the Munsons are like Al, by the way) one can still chose not to follow in those footsteps. Hell, Wayne could have even straightened up FOR Eddie.
Hell we know more about Eddie's dad then we do his mom. The only thing we know is that she isn't around to take care of Eddie. Dead, in jail, or just doesn't give a damn, she's not in Eddie's life.
So yeah, it upsets me because to me it smacks a little classist. Good guy Wayne can't be related to criminal Al *clutches pearls!* He absolutely is.
/end rant

BASIC INFORMATION:
NAME: Berat Yalaz. AGE: 32. PLACE OF BIRTH: Antalya, Türkiye. AFFILIATION: The Rutherford Family. The Turkish gangs based in Haringey. OCCUPATION: Enforcer. Owner of The Circle gym. FACE CLAIM: Çağatay Ulusoy. AVAILABILITY: TAKEN.
BIOGRAPHY:
(Warning: Okay, this ended up way longer than Ayaz’s, so sorry about that, first and foremost. Secondly, I’ll be real, this one is pretty rough. It briefly mentions abuse. Pretty explicitly deals with depression/suicide, drug use and addiction, and all kinds of other awful shit. It was difficult to write. So yeah, if any of those things bother you, particularly the depression/suicide/drugs, better give it a miss.)
"Don’t do this to him.” To me. “It’s not too late to come back. You know that. We’re still here.”
And in spite of all that followed, Berat realised he always would be.
When he’d eventually sought out the woman he’d called a friend for all of his best years, it’d been with the sole intention of lambasting her for her callous abandonment. It’d been such a savage and surprising blow, it’d taken him so long to process, she’d already gone and started her fancy new life as a lapdog for their oppressors before he’d even found her. But whilst he’d very much meant to make his feelings on the matter known—perhaps earning a bit of personal closure in the process—when Berat finally came face-to-face with her, the anger had melted away in an instant.
He’d never begged a soul for anything in his damn life until Nevra.
In that moment, she would be both the first and last.
Everybody had assumed the British put him in the hospital as punishment for his attempts to coax their friend back to her real home. Whilst he didn’t doubt that’d played some part in stoking their ire, though, there was more to the altercation than he was willing to admit. What he hadn’t shared with his friends was that the Rutherfords had approached him with the same damn offer they’d made Nevra…and not for the first time. Abandon his family for a chance at a better life with them. Whatever the fuck that meant. It wasn’t as though he planned on finding out…
They'd almost murdered him that night for saying no.
Given what followed, he spent a lot of time wishing they had succeeded.
If the choice had been up to him, Berat never would’ve come to London at all, and maybe that would’ve been kinder. Life back in Türkiye wasn’t easy by any stretch, but it was still his home. His family had a small house, and an olive grove that was all their own, and on the days when his father would go to work in the city, Berat would spend his time helping his mother tend to their garden. The setting was idyllic. As a young boy, he should’ve been happy. But things were rarely as simple as they seemed from the outside, and for him and his mother, that was no different.
Berat envied those who remembered little from their earliest years. Whilst his mother was a kind soul he adored with all his heart, his father was the polar opposite; often aggressive toward his wife, but even more so to the son he despised without reason. The two had endured the man’s physical and emotional abuse for almost seven years until one day, he hadn’t bothered coming back from the city at all. It was more of a relief than he could’ve imagined: being without fear. To be able to leave home without worrying about the state his mother would be in when he returned. To a naïve seven year old, he’d imagined that they could just go about their lives as if nothing was different. Just the two of them, enjoying all the things he’d tried to take away from them…
But reality hit hard, because life didn’t work like that.
It hadn’t dawned on him until much later that moving to London was less of a choice and more of an escape. That she was scared one day he would come back.
Perhaps that was why he’d been so angry with her for it in the beginning. Berat loved his mother, but he couldn’t understand why she’d dragged him to a foreign country—away from his friends, away from his family—without giving him any choice in the matter. Even though she tried to assure him that they were moving to a Turkish community, it didn’t help. Berat had struggled to learn English, and that made making new friends more difficult than anticipated. School was a constant source of anxiety because he never understood what was going on, and the other kids mocked him for that, and his education suffered terribly as a result. He just couldn’t adjust. Maybe a stubborn part of him didn’t want to. His mother had been so worried for him—her son becoming more and more withdrawn by the day—until something finally changed.
Berat met her.
It’d been the day they’d moved into their second flat. It was a shitty little place in Wood Green that he’d despised on sight until their neighbours came to greet them. Berat had spent so many nights crying himself to sleep because he missed home. His happy place. His grandparents. The dogs they had to leave with his aunt. He cried because he felt like he had nobody. He cried out of frustration. He cried for not being able to understand the other kids when they made jokes at his expense. He cried because his dad had ruined his life in so many ways he would never care about...
When she’d walked through his door, though—wearing the most beautiful smile in the whole world, he was sure—for the first time since leaving Antalya, he knew something good was finally happening.
To describe her, what she meant to him, he would never find the words. Ceren had been the kindest person he’d ever met. A blessing he hadn’t deserved, but absolutely needed. That afternoon, as their mothers got to know each other, she’d taken him by the hand and excitedly shown him all her favourite places to visit within the small distance they were allowed to venture. Her Turkish wasn’t very good, but he didn’t care, because somehow they seemed to be able to communicate as if there was no language barrier at all. Berat had realised quickly that kids were cruel. But never her.
When she’d gone home that evening, he’d never felt so deflated.
It was okay, though. Almost every day after that one, they found each other again.
Ceren spent her school lunchtimes helping him to understand his work. They practiced his English, and he helped her with Turkish. Most importantly of all, though, she’d unknowingly given him back the confidence he’d been missing since he stepped off that plane. The confidence to stand up for himself. To put himself out there, and find the will to make other friends.
Long before Nazli had saved him from his addiction, Ceren had saved him from himself.
Life had seemed a lot less daunting with her at his side, and as the years passed, each became easier than the last. Berat had eventually found his own group of friends; Kerem, Nevra, and Azra all helping to make London finally feel less hostile. Much like Kerem and Azra had gravitated toward each other, though, it had been Nazli who’d stolen his heart. The two were utterly inseparable. Twin flames, and connoisseurs of absolute fucking chaos, and for the first time in years, he finally felt as though he belonged. They’d all played their part in that, and he was grateful for it. But there was somebody else who would prove to be the most important of all.
Never could he have imagined falling as hard for someone as he did Ayda.
She was beautiful, and kind, and felt like home. Like the others, Berat had since found his footing in the Turkish gang—the very same one that her terrifying father happened to co-lead—but the fear of him finding out he was dating his daughter wasn’t even close to enough to discourage him. How could it be? Ceren had been the one to make him realise that life was what you made of it. That if you found something wonderful, you had to embrace it instead of being scared to lose it. And that was exactly what he did when it came to Ayda.
With the exception of Ceren moving to Porto Velho—though the two were so incapable of being without each other, even distance proved no match—life was perfect.
Though Kerem was the leader of their sub-crew in the Turkish gang, Berat had absolutely proven himself the poster boy for what a dedicated member looked like. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for a family that’d embraced him as if he was their own. Mehmet, in particular, had been the first and only true father figure in his life. Berat worked hard, did as he was told, and made sure to look out for the people who mattered. Most importantly of all, though, his stature was so fucking imposing that despite the fact those closest to him knew he was a gentle giant, his mere presence was daunting enough that he became the go-to accompaniment to any meeting where things were expected to go south.
Handy, really, when he loved nothing more than a good fight…
The more time he spent with Ayda, though—particularly when she made the decision to leave gang life behind—the more he wondered how things would be without it all. It wasn’t as though he ever really planned to be a gangster. It kind of just happened, and he had happily rolled with the tide. They spoke extensively about starting a family of their own, opening a business that could support them without continuing to be a part of a dangerous lifestyle, and eventually, the two even moved in together. Berat’s mother hated his choice of work. Ayda craved the normalcy and security. So what else was there to consider?
Berat had taken her home to Antalya to propose.
Not only marriage, but that he finally take his permanent leave from the gang.
It would be the beginning of the rest of their lives. All they’d ever wanted...
An unfortunate phone call before he got the chance, however, would unknowingly pull on a thread that would unravel everything in the blink of an eye.
Neither of them could even begin to understand what was to come.
For all that followed—for the many things he would regret until he met his own grave—there was nothing that haunted him more than the decision to go to Nevra that night. The physical toll of the beating that followed was worse than anybody understood, but it was the emotional toll, the mental one, that solidified his devastating downfall. The head injury he’d suffered was so severe that initially, his doctors weren’t even sure he’d be able to speak again, and maybe that was why when Ceren had visited his bedside, the first he remembered after waking from the coma, his inability to communicate had him feeling like he was back at square one. The same kid who had arrived in London; lost and alone. The pain in her expression was so genuine it’d broken his heart right then. Hurt him in ways he didn’t know he was capable of feeling.
Berat wondered if she would have come at all had she known her husband was one of the men who’d put him there…
God, he’d fucking hated himself for the anger he felt toward her. Ceren had never been a part of that life. Never considered herself one of the Rutherfords. She’d just chosen to be with someone who was. In his heart he knew she had nothing to be sorry for, and yet for the first time since she’d walked through his door all those years ago, he didn’t even want to look at her. The two had always had their way of communicating, even when they couldn’t… Berat didn’t need to tell her he was angry. He didn’t need to tell her that he didn’t want to see her. He didn’t need to tell her to leave.
Ceren knew.
Even now, he tortures himself with all the ways he would have done it differently if he’d known. Should have. After everything they’d been through, he’d pushed away the biggest light in his life, and he could never forgive himself for that.
Neither of them knew it would be the last time they’d see each other.
In one fell swoop he’d lost Nevra, Ceren, and his entire sense of identity. The only thing he hadn’t lost was Ayda, and even he knew that was inevitable.
Berat was hurting more than anybody knew because the idea of sharing it made him feel like even more of a burden than his injuries had turned him into. He could no longer contribute to the gang, or look after the people he swore to protect. He couldn’t work to help support Ayda and the future they had planned together. He was in near constant physical pain. Kerem was suffering, and he was too fucking incapacitated to be there for his brother. Then there was losing Ceren; the one thing that had cut him so deeply, the only way he could mask the pain was to bury it under his hate for the Rutherfords who had done this to them in the first place.
In all the years he’d spent around the drugs the Turks pushed out of Haringey, never once had he been tempted. But he just didn’t know how to cope anymore.
It was the easy way out, and he’d hate himself for that forever.
And maybe, just maybe, he would’ve been strong enough to pull himself back from the brink if he hadn’t lost her.
But he had.
This time it wasn’t distance, and it wasn’t pain. And no matter how many times he kept telling himself that they never got to say goodbye so she had to come back, he knew that one of the very best parts of his life—one of the few reasons he had left to keep breathing—was gone forever. Over and over again, he replayed the memory of her leaving his hospital room; hurting because of him. Over and over again, he replayed the very first time he’d seen that smile…
The last time they’d met, Ceren thought he blamed her for what’d happened.
What if she’d died feeling the same way?
Berat had been so fucking high he hadn’t even made it to the funeral.
When he’d picked up the needle that night, sick to the stomach knowing he couldn’t even get his shit together long enough to say goodbye, he’d muttered only one thing before it hit:
“I’ll be there soon.”
Some people turned to drugs as a way to cope with their problems, and maybe he’d been one of them at the start. But this was something else, now. Attempting to help seemed so utterly futile because he didn’t want to get better. The drugs weren’t there to dull the pain. They weren’t there to curb his guilt. They weren’t a means to avoid his problems…
Berat was hoping they’d do what he was too much of a coward to do himself.
It was impossible to blame Ayda for eventually walking away from him, no matter how much it hurt. Trying to destroy his life was destroying hers, too.
The distance he’d put between himself and the people he cared about should have made it easier. By that point, not only was Ayda gone, but he’d even stopped talking to his own mother. Emine. But Nazli was so fucking persistent—adamant, above all else, that she would not lose another friend—that no matter how brutal his cycle of self destruction became, she refused to let it take him away. God, she was so stubborn. It was the toughest love he’d ever received, and there were days where the only person he despised more than her was himself. All he wanted to do was go. All he wanted was to feel nothing at all. He’d lost everything, and she would see him suffer through it? After everything? What reason did he have left to try?
“You have me!”
So rare was it she showed emotion like that, he almost didn’t know how to process it at all.
When she’d finally broken down in front of him—the first and only time he’d ever seen his best friend cry—Berat was finally hit with the realisation of what he’d become. For all his agony, he’d lost sight of the fact he wasn’t the only person in this equation. That he didn’t get to decide what he was worth to the people around him. Others were hurting, too, and this time, he was the one to blame.
Nazli had left him that night, and he’d been so sure she wasn’t coming back, just like Ayda, that it had sent him into a spiral. Whether she’d intended it or not, that had finally been the turning point he’d needed. The wakeup call that brought him back to a reality he’d been detached from for so fucking long he barely recognised it anymore. It was the first and only time someone had managed to break through to him since his descent into misery; not because Nazli had meant more to him than Ayda had, but because he realised he couldn’t be the reason she lost someone she cared about. Not when he knew what it was like to suffer through that pain first-hand.
Berat loved her too much to put her through that.
It had been him that’d found her, instead of waiting for her to come back.
Maybe Nazli hadn’t been expecting that, but fuck, she hadn’t even hesitated to embrace him instead cutting him off entirely like he damn well deserved. When she smiled at him, he knew. Berat was ready. And so began the long and arduous road to his recovery.
It took months to make any progress at all, but she’d been at his side for every moment of it; never discouraged by his struggles, not even by the times it felt like they were moving backwards. There had been relapses, of course, but Nazli always focused on finding momentum again instead of condemning him for the days where he just couldn’t fight it anymore. His best friend was no saint, but with him, she’d had the patience of one, and he knows that for as long as he lives, he’ll never be able to repay her for it. All he can do is vow never to disappoint her. And truthfully, healthy or not, that was a better driving force behind his sobriety than doing it for himself ever was.
Stepping back into gang life had come last, because Nazli knew that being around drugs again, even in passing, was a dangerous situation to put him in. But now that Ayda was gone and all semblance of the future he’d planned for had followed, he had nothing else. Dangerous it might have been, so was having no purpose in life at all.
Berat had been eight months sober when he finally re-joined his family.
Then it had been twelve.
And now it’s been eighteen.
Life will never be the same for him, and coming to terms with that was a large part of the recovery process. In spite of the progress he’s made, the itch, the desire, it never really leaves. But he’s made positive changes to avoid challenging himself. He doesn’t drink so much, he doesn’t party, and he doesn’t do anything that threatens the self-control he’s worked so fucking hard to maintain. One wrong move and years of work is gone and he can’t do that to himself. Or her. And even though there are many days where he wakes up and sits with the fact life would’ve been easier if Nazli had just let him go, he knows that the struggle was worth it for his best friend.
For all of them.
Berat can’t fix all the mistakes he’s made. Some of the things he’s done aren’t even worthy of forgiveness from himself. But for the first time since losing Ceren, the clarity has made him realise he has to try. And that’s a start.

ccniki has ALWAYS said cniki was unjustified in her hatred of tommy. always. and it should be safe to assume that as a writer she is well aware that her character is not perfect, and that trying to kill a teenage abuse victim is not justified. she has ALWAYS said that her frustration with wilbur got lumped in with her issues with tommy and that's why she hated him so much.
it's not her fault that people don't watch her content and assume that only wilbur is capable of writing a character who does bad things while acknowledging that said character is imperfect. every single character on that damn server has made mistakes and the ccs as writers are perfectly aware of that. just because they dont lambast them at every opportunity or call themselves c! critical does not mean they don't acknowledge the moral grayness of their characters.
i love wilbur, he's my favorite character, but i'm fucking sick to death of people thinking that ccwilbur is the only person capable of writing a nuanced, imperfect character. cc!niki has created an incredible character that struggles with similar issues of blame and forgiveness and acting like she needs to explicitly acknowledge that fictional murder attempts are bad is a double standard beyond belief.
#sorry prev this is more general frustration im not angry with you specifically#i just saw that tag and was like ??? shes said this several times#discourse

SFW RWBY/Blazblue: How about some good friendships moment between Ragna and Team JNPR.
JAUNE ARC
The blade of Aramasa clashed against Crocea Mors, the two swordsmen staring at one another. "Just like that," Ragna says, "your response time's gotten better."
"Thanks," the blonde captain of Team JNPR said with a smile, "this has been pretty good practice."
"Right," the silver-haired man lowers his sword, "you came a long way for a guy in a bunnie hoodie."
Jaune blinks, "It's Pumpkin Pete," he rubs the back of his neck, then heard a small laugh from the Grim Reaper. "Huh?"
"Well, you're not so bad," he sheathes his weapon, "even if you are dense at times."
"Yeah," Jaune chuckles, not registering what Ragna meant by the last part.
NORA VALKYRIE
"I want pancakes!" The orangette shouts to Ragna, who groans in annoyance.
"You've had some yesterday," he replies, "and the day before that...and so on." He was finished with the breakfast, though Nora picked up the difference.
Her eyes look down at the plate the Grim Reaper placed down. "What," she points doen, "the heck are these?!"
"Waffles," Ragna answers her, "think of 'em as...pancakes with abs."
Nora pouts at him, but readily sticks a fork in one of the waffles and chows down.
PYRRHA NIKOS
"You really risked everything," he says to the Spartan, "stickin' your neck out for me?"
"Ragna," she begins to speak, "I couldn't just stand there while you were lambasted in that farce of a trial." Pyrrha takes a deep breath, "From what Ruby told me, and what I saw from that...Nu girl, you saw an organization abusing their power and responded."
"Yeah," he said, "and it was a goddamn kangaroo court."
She places her hands on her hips, "Still, what will you do?" The Champion inquires, "Even if you were proven innocent, people still see you as a heartless murderer."
"I got friends," Ragna replies, "like Noel, Makoto, team RWBY, your blonde crush," he gives her a teasing smile, which made Pyrrha blush. "and you, the girl who saw through the bullshit."
LIE REN
"I gotta say," Ragna said to Ren, who sat down in a lotus position. "this is some damn good tea."
"It helps in calming the mind," Ren replies to Ragna, "a lot better than caffeine."
"Or your 'algae shakes'," Ragna says out loud, which made the calm Huntsman smirk.
"I'll admit," he sighs, "the shake needs work...a lot of it."
"At least it's not Noel-levels of bad," Ragna joked, which made both young men chuckle.
"Fair point, Ragna...fair point."

I can't believe Cap thinks he had such a gotcha moment about Dimitri's line about the present being all we have. Cap, and an annoyingly large portion of this fandom, misunderstand Dimitri's views. Dimitri isn't saying the past and future don't matter. His beliefs are that we have to remember the past and work for a brighter future, but we live in the present. Don't carelessly and selfishly throw away the people of the present for the sake of a past that can't return or a future not set in stone.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
It's just so telling that the supposed "gotcha" against Dimitri's views about the present being all we have is Hanneman bringing up his dead sister and how she'll never get to live in the present. It's like... yes. Dimitri knows that feeling. Dimitri knows what it's like having loved ones never being able to live the lives they deserve due to being unjustly killed. That's like. What his character revolves around.
But what Hanneman, Woobiegard, and Cap'n don't realize is that, in this scenario, Woobiegard is just trading a bunch of "Hanneman's sister's" with thousands of victims of war who have now lost the ability to live out the lives they deserved to just the same. Woobiegard and everyone on her side have also justified their murder with shallow defenses about "doing the right thing," just like Hanneman's sister's husband in the fic tried to justify his murder with shallow defenses about "doing the Goddess' will." What Dimitri tries to get at is that trading death for death is meaningless, because it ends with the exact same result.
Woobiegard and those who stand with her in this fic try to rationalize all the death they cause as for the greater good, for a society that will be better than what it started as, but that is quite literally what they lambast Rhea for doing. They pin all the blame for Fodlan having anything wrong with it on Rhea for "allowing" it to happen in order to preserve the status quo, all while 99% of the time never pulling their heads out of their asses and realizing that that is what they are doing right now. And not through any sort of passive acceptance of it like they try to say Rhea does, but through actively killing people with their own hands.
And whenever Woobiegard does contemplate over whether she's being like Rhea? When she does question whether she's any better than her? She does the equivalent of shrugging her shoulders and lol'ing before going right back to doing what she was doing. Like, take this line: "Would [Woobiegard] descend into madness, believing in her righteousness even as she damned herself?" You wanna know what chapter she says this in?
Chapter 43.
So. You know. She has this thought before she chases down Judith to brutally shatter her against the stone floor even after she'd stopped fighting back. And before she watched as Petra put down a commoner's rebellion with threat of lethal force. And before she crumpled Alois up like a soda can before throwing him to the side. And before she took Aymr, physical proof of her collusion with TWS and a constant symbol of her hypocrisy. This is what she thinks during the food shortage that she is making her people go through in order to feed her army. And during a time where she is orphaning children (and letting them idolize her after she was the one that got their parents killed). This was after she'd already laid siege on a monastery that housed at minimum hundreds of people who had no other place to go - those people that she forcibly kicked out.
And all of that? That's what Dimitri is talking about. Woobiegard and her side trying to wash their hands of all the suffering they've caused because it's "for a better future" makes people suffer now. It kills them now. It traumatizes them now. It ruins them now. They are permanently fucking over the lives of thousand of people for the exact same reasons that they say Rhea is evil for doing. Them prioritizing the future over the present is presently ruining the futures of thousands of people, and they just do not care. They're trying to sell pennies for dollars to a billionaire, saying that they're the heroes when they literally have the mindsets of villains to someone with genuinely heroic viewpoints, even in this fic. Actually baffling that someone could miss the point this hard
#ask#anon#exqueuese me princess#o captain my captain#Dimitri: Don't forget the present people live in for a past that can't be returned to or a future that is untold#Hanneman: but what about my sister tho :( *goes on to help murder innocents*#LIKE??? HELLO

BnHA Ch.330 - Review, parallels & comparisons
This chapter opens like Squid Game, with Shigaraki playing tag while critically reflecting on his past … and Star just trying to kill him. MHA gives so much attention to hands that it’s interesting to see a clash of powerful quirks that require touch to activate. It also explains why AFO is giddy over Star’s quirk — if he gets it then anytime he touches someone to give or take a quirk, he could potentially activate a rule. And, if Star’s quirk could “bank” touches the way Ragdoll’s Search quirk can recall the last 100 people, AFO has even stronger remote rule, not just explosions.
There’s absolutely no subtlety here — as soon as Star confirms she’s engaging with Shigaraki/AFO, she’s smashing and going for the death blow. ETA: As pointed out by @spyyydercancer in the comments, this is a suicide mission for the bomber pilots accompanying Star. She says, “I’ll make sure your remains make it back to your loved ones” to them, not to Shigaraki (as I initially thought), but it’s still really dark to see a hero knowingly leading her squad to their death in such a cavalier manner is one of the darkest threats in the series, and it’s coming from *checks notes* the USA’s #1 hero. This isn’t civil heroics anymore, this is all out multinational war against a 21 year old. And damn is it disturbing to see the striped speech bubbles saying Shigaraki’s heart will stop. It’s like the cultural weight of the United States is wishing for his death (sort of like how criminal lawsuits in the US are styled as “US v. [name of individual]” or “People v. [name of individual]”).
In the midst of her effort to kill, Star loses her mask and smugly monologues about how All Might was the symbol of peace and inspired her to be 4 times as peace-y as him. I mean, it’s hard to beat 8 tufts — even Present Mic doesn’t use that much hair gel. And, as much as I like the Two Heroes reference, I’m also digging that Horikoshi wants to draw a lot of young All Might in these chapters. I hope this means we’ll soon see All Might reckoning with the violent parts of his legacy. (It’s an unpopular opinion, but he IS the fulcrum or tipping point of the story. It IS about All Might and what he represents, even if that was never his intention.)
But tufts and monster thighs do not a peacemaker, um, make. The contrast between “symbol of peace” and “no escape” reminded me of Shiggy’s USJ speech, where he lambasts All Might as a state sponsored tool for violence that only encourages more violence. At USJ, however, the facts were very different — it was Shigaraki who was the interloper, invading UA’s home turf and immediately threatening death to All Might and the kids. At USJ, the heroes were justified in doing what they needed to contain the villain threat (not kill; just contain). [ETA: Just because All Might was justified in using violence at USJ to keep his students, coworkers, and himself safe doesn’t mean he made the right decision. In retrospect, if he had known Shigaraki was actually Tenko Shimura, he may have reacted more like he did recently with Stain; allowing the villain to ask questions and engage respectfully.] All Might took this into his Kamino fight with AFO, controlling his emotions and power enough to stop AFO without murdering him. After all, the last time he went for the kill he didn’t succeed AND he nearly killed himself in the process. All Might wasn’t going to survive taking the same approach a second time.
In Ch.330, Star is the invader and the first one to attack. She talks about Shigaraki as “a guy who came all this way to meet me” but she’s the one who came a long way to HIS country. Even if she’s trying to be All Might, she’s reminiscent of early Bakugo threatening to blow up Kurogiri or Earlyroki casually saying he could let villains freeze to death (but he won’t because that’s not heroic). She prioritizes the win over saving her pilot squad or Shigaraki. That is, she acts like a student who hasn’t truly learned the important lessons yet.
Star’s other mistake also comes from USJ — she’s over reliant on her quirk, and it caused her to fall into AFO’s trap. AFO knew Star had to say his name for her quirk to activate, and he knew “Shigaraki” isn’t the right name for this new, transcendent being. He let her think she had the upper hand, touching Shigaraki while he was regenerating. Star may yet survive the explosion by creating another rule before her quirk is stolen, or if she’s caught mid-air by Endeavor, but her stunned “It didn’t work?!” left her very, very vulnerable to AFO!Shigaraki’s touch. Look how unhinged she looks in the final panel!!!
Of course, AFO didn’t just trap Star; he trapped Shiggy too. It turns out that Shigaraki at 100% isn’t just “fully powered” by AFO. At 100% they MERGE into a new being with a complete AFO quirk and liberated Decay. Now add in New Order and OFA??? Yep, this is the start of AFO controlling the singularity; the moment of no return when society changes forever. Those of you who are tech geeks may also recognize “the singularity” as the moment when computers, robots, and/or AI run society; when their intelligence exceeds all human intellect and understanding, effectively rendering humans extinct.
Shigaraki resists the only way he knows how — through hatred and anger, remembering his home as the root of his distress. Remembering how heroes destroy their families to save strangers.
Unfortunately, hatred gives AFO the upper hand. Fortunately, Shigaraki’s not at 100%, so there’s a chance for someone (or several someones) to reach him and help him heal. Maybe teach him the meaning of peace, so he has a bright future, and not just AFO’s “glorious” one.

Ah, chapters 113 & 114 of AoT, and I’ve only got one thing to say.
Zeke, am I supposed to be feel sorry for the bitch? Well I DON’T.
No, seriously, fuck this guuuuuuuuy, I know I keep saying it again and again, but God damn, if these two chapters didn’t just solidify my hatred for the bastard.
First of all, he is just... the most whiny, delusional, self-pitying pathetic loser, just... he really is. I feel like a character in a Peanuts comic strip every time he opens his mouth. All I hear is “whaa, whaa, whaa”. And his delusions of grandeur would almost be funny if they weren’t so pathetic.
Here’s the thing, alright, and I’m sorry if I’m going to offend any Zeke fans with what I’m about to say, but too bad, I guess.
Everything out of this shitheads mouth is a lie. And just because he’s convinced himself of his own bullshit doesn’t make the lies coming out of his mouth any more true.
He turns Levi’s fellow soldiers into Titans. He does this without remorse. Don’t try to tell me Zeke felt bad about it. He didn’t. You know how I know he didn’t? Because in his private moments in the immediate aftermath, he mocks Levi over having done it, gloating about his supposed master plan of using Levi’s compassion against him and utilizing it to ensure Levi’s own demise. Zeke’s entire attitude here is sickeningly unbothered, unburdened, uncaring, and smug in the EXTREME. He mocks Levi’s compassion, literally makes fun of it and lambasts it as a pathetic sign of weakness when he says “I know you’re a caring leader. Your soldiers haven’t done anything wrong. They’ve just grown a little bigger. You wouldn’t, say, slice them to pieces over that, would you?”. This is Zeke making fun of the fact, finding AMUSEMENT in the fact that he’s just murdered 30 people who have never done a single thing to him, and reveling in what he thinks is a victory that will lead to Levi’s own death, reveling in having taken advantage of and weaponizing a better man’s kindness and compassion. Zeke is ENJOYING this moment. Just like he enjoyed killing all those soldiers in Shinganshina. And then, the kicker, and this is a particular point about Zeke that just makes me absolutely sick, he pretends to himself as if he didn’t want to do it. He PLAYS at his own regret, saying, “I didn’t want do this either,” and yet in the very next breath, continues to treat what he’s done with grotesque flippancy, saying “Still, how sad... There wasn’t even a battle or skirmish.” Gloating over how easily he’s bested Levi and his men, before going on to sink further into his insane delusions of grandeur, blaming their inability to trust one another on Levi’s inability to “understand”. I’m sorry, Zeke, but no. You didn’t even TRY to help Levi understand, too wrapped up in your own egotistical god-complex to consider it a possibility. ‘Oh, only I could possibly understand, along with Eren, the great task we two special beings have been burdened with. He makes assumptions about Levi’s life, about the kinds of things he’s seen and experienced, and convinces himself that they couldn’t be anything like what Zeke has (which, hilariously, is all wrong, since out of everyone, Levi knows better than anyone else in the SC what it’s like to be treated as a second class citizen). Zeke just assumes Levi couldn’t possibly ever grasp the complexities of the outside world, and so that’s why Zeke didn’t even bother trying to talk to him. Blah, blah, blah. No, Zeke, you didn’t share your stupid ass plan because you wanted to continue to feel special, like you’re the chosen one who gets to decide the fate of an entire race of people. The most hilarious part of this entire sequence is when Zeke is thinking Levi couldn’t ever understand the concept of all the world’s militaries bearing down on Paradis at once, and what that means, couldn’t grasp the urgency of the situation, as if ZEKE HIMSELF isn’t completely fucking responsible for that situation in the first place. Zeke literally engineered it. He created the problem, and now wants to position himself as the savior. He’s just such a loser man. The God damned definition.
And as if all of that wasn’t bad enough, when it turns out Zeke’s plan to take Levi out failed miserably, and Levi comes after his sorry ass like a bat out of hell, Zeke continues to mock Levi, to laugh at what Levi’s just had to do in order to survive and pursue Zeke. He says “Where’d your adorable little men go!? Don’t tell me you killed them all! The poor things!”. Are you fucking serious? Zeke’s behavior here is one of the most sickening things in the entire story, bar none. The way he laughs at Levi here for having to cut down 30 of his friends and comrades, the absolute display of sociopathic glee and disregard for the severe, horrific trauma he’s just caused this man, is honestly shocking. Man, I’m sorry, but anyone who sympathizes with Zeke over Levi after this display maybe needs to reevaluate their moral compass, because it’s damned broken. And just as an aside, Zeke’s cowardly fear of Levi is also pretty damned funny. He’s just such a bitch./
We go from this perverse display of psychopathic megalomania into Zeke’s backstory, and again, I’m sorry if I’m gonna offend any Zeke fans here, but to all of that, I ask, so effing what? Oh, boohoo, Zeke’s mommy and daddy didn’t shower him with praise or spend any time playing catch with him, and somehow, I guess, this is meant to excuse his attempts later in life to commit mass genocide. Poor, poor Zeke. Yes, his childhood was sad, he experienced neglect from his parents for two whole years, was used by them as a pawn for their idiotic plans, and ended up disappointing his father when it turned out he had no real talent. And again I ask, so what? This sort of experience isn’t exactly what one would call unique, or even extreme. There are countless children in the world who go through the exact same thing in various forms. Parents who put too much pressure on their kids to succeed, parents who try living vicariously through their children, parents who make their disappointment known and even punish their children for failing to live up to their expectations (something Zeke’s parents never did, by the way). The point is, this isn’t even what one would classify as extreme hardship. It’s a sad story of a child being neglected and not receiving enough love from his parents. This isn’t to undermine the very real pain one experiences from those things. Not at all. That pain is real and legitimate. But it’s also fairly common and pedestrian, as far as childhood trauma is concerned, and it doesn’t even remotely begin to justify the extreme lengths of megalomaniacal, sociopathic, genocidal tendencies he later displays. Also, Zeke also had his grandparents, who did love him and spent lots of time with him. He had Mr. Ksaver, who played with him and acted as a mentor to him. It wasn’t like Zeke had no one and grew up with zero connections. That’s BS.
Levi calls this bitch on his shit later in chapter 114, as Zeke’s muttering away in his delusions about how he’s “saving everyone”. He asks Zeke “That was your plan? Mercy killings?”. Levi’s asking Zeke here who the hell gave him the right to decide who lives and who dies? Who gave him the right to decide who’s life is WORTH living? When Levi says him getting to die by being eaten by a Titan is pretty merciful, considering he stole the lives of so many of his comrades, Zeke’s reply speaks volumes about just how warped and demented his thinking is, when he says “I stole nothing. I... saved them. Them and the children they would have... I saved them all... from this cruel world.”. He’s literally justifying murdering countless people by trying to redefine that murder as “saving” them. It’s not murder because it saved them from ever having to suffer again! He’s absolving himself here of his sins by casting his actions in not just a favorable light, but trying to sell them as heroic and admirable. He takes no, actual responsibility for what he’s done. He removes himself from that responsibility by pretending he was doing a good thing, an honorable, noble thing, by murdering a whole bunch of people who’d never done jack shit to him. Yippee for Zeke, I guess. He’s the very definition of an ego-maniac, of someone suffering from a messiah complex. He’s insane, and morally depraved. The very fact that he’s the one who comes up with the idea of eradicating the Eldian race by rendering them infertile is only further proof of this. What teenager comes up with a plan to exterminate an entire race of people and thinks it’s a good idea?
Right before he blows himself and Levi up, he screams “I’m hope you’re watching, Mr. Ksaver!”. He’s indulging in his own, fanciful notions of himself as the “chosen one”, as a unique person who alone is capable of delivering humanity to salvation. He’s showing off, asking Mr. Ksaver to watch him as he “saves the world”, because all he cares about, really, is making himself feel special, of fulfilling what he’s deluded himself into believing is his destiny, his right to decide the fate of the world.
And then he almost kills Levi in the process.
I swear, I wish Levi had just chopped his shitty head off right then and there. No one can blame Levi for chopping the bastards legs up like he did, for being so angry. It wasn’t just that Zeke had killed so many of his fellow soldiers by turning them into Titans, or tried to kill Levi by turning them into Titans, it’s also how Zeke laughed about it, and laughed at the pain he’d caused Levi, treating all of it as if it was worth nothing, and then having the unmitigated gall to cast himself as the hero bestowing his benevolent mercy on all. Give me a fucking break.
Fuck you Zeke. I hope you rot in hell, you dumb shit.
Also, fuck you to Floch too. I hate that bastard almost as much.

AU-gust 2020 Prompts
1. Fantasy AU - Cherik
2. College AU - Cherik, Xavierine
Charles is on his fourth drink before Moira finally returns, dragging somebody through the crowd of bodies on the makeshift dance floor. The only reason he’s still here is because she promised to introduce him to her very hot study partner from Econ, and so he can drink himself stupid, and forget about the fact that he and Erik have mutually agreed to take a break from their on again, off again – and now definitely off again – relationship. By all accounts Erik has already moved on with somebody new, according to Emma, who saw him with his arm around a pretty brunette, kissing outside the coffee shop…
He downs the last of his lukewarm beer, resolved to get himself spectacularly laid tonight, and try to forget about Erik and his stupid, impossibly gorgeous face.
“Charles, there you are!” Moira shouts in his ear, trying to make herself heard over the horrible electronica lambasting the room. She yanks on the arm she’s been holding behind her, tugging the rest of its owner in front of Charles with a triumphant grin. “This is Logan! He’s the guy I was telling you about!”
Even if he wasn’t already well on his way to getting pissed drunk, ‘Logan’ would still be blistering hot, all muscle and sweat under a beat up leather motorcycle jacket and tight jeans that do nothing to hide an impressive bulge. He’s exactly what Charles needs tonight, and he’s going to buy Moira coffee for the month if Logan turns out to be as good a fuck as he looks.
Of course the anticipation is ruined not a moment later, when someone coming into the room catches his eye; his ex, holding his drink above his head as he makes his way after Azazel into the roiling mass. Erik’s eyes are sweeping the room like he’s searching for someone in particular – his new girlfriend, Charles assumes, swallowing the bitterness in the back of his throat – and counts maybe another three seconds before he’ll turn his head and see Charles camped out over by the drinks table.
Well, if Erik’s going to show up and ruin his fun, he’ll be damned if he doesn’t take the opportunity to put on a good show.
He grins, giving Logan his sultriest, ‘come fuck me’ look and yanks him into a dirty, open mouthed kiss that might be too graphic for a porno.
“Well I guess my work here is done then,” Moira says, and only laughs at him when Charles waves her away with a flailing hand. It turns out that Logan is a fucking fantastic kisser, and is seemingly one hundred percent on board following his lead, wrapping his hands around Charles’ ass and backing him up until he’s pressed flush against the wall. Frankly, it’s so unexpectedly good that he completely forgets about his ex, that is until Erik is suddenly right there and looking like he wants to commit murder most violent.
Sensing Charles’ distraction, Logan pulls away reluctantly and turns to glance over his shoulder. He takes one look at a seething Erik and just…gives him a baleful glare. “What do you want, Lehnsherr? I’m kinda of busy here.”
To say that he’s surprised by the greeting is a bloody understatement. “Wait, wait,” Charles says, “do you two know each other?”
“Logan and I work together,” Erik says with gritted teeth, and Charles doesn’t know which one of them he wants to throttle more, judging by the icy chill in his voice. “I didn’t know you two were dating.”
“Why the fuck you do you care who I’m dating?” Logan growls, clearly annoyed by Erik’s attitude until Charles sees his eyes go wide and the light bulb practically going off in his head. “Anyways, Chuck and I have been seeing each other for a couple of weeks.”
Erik’s nostrils flare and his eyes narrow, flickering down to where Logan is copping a very thorough feel of Charles’ butt. “Have you?”
He would feel bad for lying about Logan, if not for the fact that one - Logan’s the one doing all the talking (and needling); two – that Erik was the one to call it quits and three – if he wasn’t being such a jealous, possessive bastard when he’s the one with a girlfriend already, not even a month after their split.
“We have,” he says, and leans in just a little closer, so Erik can’t miss hearing him over the party noise. “The sex is fucking amazing, and he’s got a bigger dick.”
Then he grabs Logan by the arm and yanks him towards the exit, determined to get Erik out of his system even if it kills him.

Hiraeth Chapter 20: Arrears
Masterlist can be found Here!
Chapter Twenty: Arrears
Note: And just like that, we’re on chapter twenty for the third time. That’s totally surreal, isn’t it? Sorry that my replies were a day or two late this week and that this chapter is a few hours late. I fell asleep. I was out of town Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday with a friend, so my uploads and response times were not quite as quick as I would have liked. But it’s okay because I’m back! Now let’s get on with this fic.
(-~-)
Once they were gone, the doors to the front office swung shut with a resounding bang, sending an echoing boom through the entirety of the front room. In what had to be a rare moment of silence for the normally noisy space, there was no music playing and no ceiling fans spinning due to the lack of electricity present within the building. It was welcome, but also strange as he had finally begun to grow used to the sound of Dante’s particular brand of loud metal and rock. And although he couldn’t say that he enjoyed the exact music that Dante did, he found that he didn’t mind it as much as he used to when he’d first heard it. Maybe he could even convince him to play something else…
The Darkslayer took a moment to lock the door behind himself before proceeding, not so much because he was worried that they would be attacked or that someone would attempt to actually break in and rob them. No, that would be an absolute dream as far as the eldest Son of Sparda was concerned. Having the opportunity to teach a wayward criminal a much-needed lesson without the moral implications that came with cold-blooded murder or fratricide was a welcome change of pace for him. No, they needed to be alone for this, and he didn’t need any of his younger brother’s associates interrupting them with any trivial or annoying requests, especially given their current circumstances.
As the devil hunter in the blue coat approached his brother’s desk, Dante shook his head, reclining in the chair at his desk as he awaited his older sibling’s response. He was somewhat sure that he already knew what he was going to say. After all, Vergil had been looming over him like a literal physical manifestation of the shadow of his immense debt ever since they had returned and realized that the power was once again turned off. That had surely given them both enough time to contemplate what they both expected the other to say and, in turn, what they would add to the conversation themselves. That was, if there was a conversation at all. While they had made remarkable progress in the short time that they had been gone from the office, he didn’t put it past his older sibling to still want to settle this the old-fashioned way like they always had. And at this point, there was a part of him that expected nothing less than that, regardless of the progress that they made. The real question was how they would go about this process, and what the fight would be about this time, not so much if there would be one in the first place.
“I know, I know. This is the part where you barely hide how mad you are at me, and they you give me a piece of your mind before you stab me again, right Vergil.” Dante laughed grimly as he spoke those words, watching his twin slowly approach the desk. That was what was to be expected under these circumstances. And he’d dealt with Vergil enough times to know that-
“Why are the utilities always off, Dante? Am I to presume that you are in some form of arrears to the utility company, then?” Vergil said calmly as he reached the halfway point of the room. He stopped a few feet from the desk, looking around the room for a moment before continuing. “It came to my attention just after we had first returned from the underworld that you might be hiding something. It clearly wasn’t the first time that you had gone without electricity since you didn’t appear to be surprised by its absence, but considering our initial fight with Nero on the front steps upon arriving, my general mood at the time, and the lingering unrest in the atmosphere around the office as to my presence, I was unwilling to bring it up at the time. But now I require answers.”
His calm demeanor took Dante somewhat by surprise as while he was indeed expecting his brother to ask him why the power was off again, he wasn’t expecting him to do so with such a genuine level of curiosity. There didn’t seem to be any real anger in his voice as he asked that question, which admittedly turned things on their head a little. Dante was expecting to be lambasted for several minutes before things either turned violent or Vergil gave up and went to bed. This was… well, this was entirely too diplomatic to be an actual response from his older twin brother. What the hell was going on here?
“You caught onto what was going on that quick, hu? Well damn. I thought I was doing a better job of hiding it.” Dante said, dragging out a long, tired sigh. It was out in the open now, and that brought with it a sort of strange euphoric sense of release that he hadn’t expected, given the circumstances. “So… what happens now? Are we gonna skip the part where you stab me, or go straight to it? I’d just like to know what I’m getting myself into this time, ya know?”
Vergil stepped out of the shadows and approached the desk, unfolding his arms and using them to prop himself up against the desk. He seemed calm in a manner unlike what Dante was used to when it came to his older sibling. From what he could tell, the devil slayer in blue almost seemed to be considering something or even patently awaiting his response. But whatever he was doing, Dante wasn’t sure how he felt about it. As unpleasant as most of his older sibling’s reactions were to basically everything that he did and didn’t do, they were at least almost entirely predictable. This was the farthest thing from that that Dante could imagine, and it made him somewhat apprehensive as to what to do now. He was in uncharted territory, adrift at sea with no wind in his sails and now oars to row with.
“I am… attempting a new approach. My old methods have hit a dead end. And predictably so, at that.” Vergil let loose a barely audible sigh, looking down at the floor as he considered his next words carefully. He wasn’t entirely sure how to put into words what he was thinking, but he did, in fact, know what he actually wanted to do. Talking to his younger twin had never been something that he was particularly adept at, but that didn’t stop him from trying. After all, when had Vergil been the kind of man to do things by half? “As you know, I do not enjoy predictability. So in light of recent revelations, I am now attempting to actually communicate with you instead of simply folding to my baser instincts and using less civil means with which to get my point across.”
Dante sat up and leaned in towards him, looking at him as though he were speaking a foreign language. No, he couldn’t possibly be hearing that right. Had his older twin truly just insinuated that he might be tired of… that couldn’t be possible, could it? Well, it could. That was entirely possible. But he just never thought that he would live long enough to see the day that Vergil would succeed defeat and decide that maybe stabbing his younger sibling to death constantly was perhaps not the best method to achieving his goals. The thought had crossed Dante’s mind on several occasions, but he had just never been able to actually find a way with which to make those ideas into reality. But now…
“So if I’m hearing you right, you’re saying that you actually plan to not stab me right now, and instead you want to talk to me?” Dante wasn’t sure that his humorous tone of voice and sarcastic mannerisms alluded to the deep-seated elation that he felt at that prospect, but that didn’t make it any less true. He had waited a lifetime for the day that his brother might come to the conclusion that it might be a good idea to simply speak to him. And while he hadn’t helped to make that outcome anymore likely, and had often worked directly against it in ways large and small over the years, that didn’t make the possibility of that outcome becoming a reality any less joyous to him. “Am I getting that right, or has someone left and opened a valve that lets out toxic gases in here and we’re both just secretly dying right now or something?”
“Your half right, Dante. That is, in fact, what I am trying to say. But on the last account, you are incorrect. We are not secretly dying.” The Darkslayer paused for a moment, lingering on thoughts that he would have preferred to have kept buried deep below the surface to hide his apparent suffering. He had been through much, and a large percentage of his suffering in life had been through the lens of death. Talking about it wasn’t something that he cherished the opportunity to do. It was unpleasant but necessary. And yet, here he was, willingly doing so. Vergil had pivoted from defiance to indifference in some respects, and then he had made a sharp left into uneasy acceptance. For now, that was all he could do, and he had decided that focusing on what he was capable of instead of beating himself down with the combined weight of everything that he couldn’t might just be the best thing that he could do for himself in moments like these. “Every living thing is at all times marching towards their death. There is no secret in that. It is the inevitability of mortality. Some of us simply make it there quicker or under less desirable circumstances than others. But in the end, we all share the same fate.”
Giving his brother a much more serious look now than he had been a moment ago, Dante leaned back slightly in order to physically give himself space to take in what Vergil had just said. He had the distinct feeling that he now knew what this was about, and that was both a good and a bad thing. While it was far past time that they tackled this topic, he just hadn’t expected things to come to a head like this when they had. It would have been wonderful to have had forewarning so that he could have prepared and… no. No, had had time to prepare himself for this. From the moment that he had stepped foot in the Qliphoth and found himself standing face to face with the doors to Urizen’s throne room, coming to grips with the fact that the monster on the other side of those doors was indeed his twin brother, he had been preparing himself for the worst. When Vergil had reluctantly agreed to return to the human world with hum under the resigned fatalistic view that it couldn’t get much worse, he had known that they would have to have this conversation one day. And now that Vergil was here, it was time to have it. They had needed to get this off of their chest for quite a while now.
“Say what it is that you really want to say, Vergil. I’m not stupid enough to not be able to tell that there is more to this than what you’re saying. You know that, right?” Dante straightened his back out slightly as he reclined in his desk chair, peering out at Vergil from the bangs that hand now found their way in front of his eyes again. He needed to put some space between himself and his brother, if only to keep himself from developing claustrophobia. As much as Vergil utterly despised unwanted or involuntary physical contact, it was one of his best methods for making someone that he wanted to put on edge uncomfortable. Being at the mercy of both his impressive height in respect to most people, and his cold, unflinching stare was normally enough to make the average mortal flinch and back down, and in that respect, even Dante folded, even if only just a little bit. Being stared at the way that Vergil stared at people when he was trying to make a point was enough to make literally anyone want to back away from him. The Demon hunter wondered for a moment if his older brother even noticed that this was something that he did, or if it was something that he did involuntarily out of reflex.
A look somewhere between surprise and acceptance crossed Vergil's face as he nodded in agreement, standing up straighter as he shifted his weight to one hand and then quite literally looked down on his younger twin. There it was again. That noticeable change in him that had not been present when they were younger. Vergil understood it now more than he had when he had first noticed that something was drastically different about his twin now. It was his maturity level. Dante had indeed learned from his past, and seemed to be haunted by the mistakes and regrets that he harbored, much like he himself still did. He recognized it as his own, the poignant grief that he now realized deep within himself that they both shared. It was… well, he couldn’t say that it was something that he’d ever wished for Dante. There were plenty of unfortunate occurrences that Vergil would have brushed or even wished on his brother during his youth. Not so long ago, he would have been ready to exact those very injustices upon him with his own hands. But in that same light, he now understood something that he hadn’t then: the fact that Dante himself felt the same way. He just buried it under a thick layer of humor and sarcasm
He saw it in the moments that they were alone. Dante didn’t possess the same energy that he’d once had, the same spark that he had carried in his youth. And that wasn’t something he could blame completely on his age. Some things were lost along with the youth of the person who possessed them, and hope was one of those things. But hardship, regret, and suffering were great at enhancing those characteristics in a way that few other emotions could match, at least in regards to negative connotations. He would have never pegged Dante as the sort to think that deeply about his actions and their consequences when they were younger, much as he was willing to believe that his younger twin probably didn’t think he himself did back then. And they might have both been right under certain circumstances. But now they were older and they had lived through the folly of their youth. And they were ready to move on from it.
“You’re terrible at keeping things from me, Dante. You always have been. I had the feeling that something was amiss financially in regards to your personal life, and I see that I was not incorrect. But that does not concern me.” Vergil tilted his head slightly to the left, attempting to make brief eye contact with his younger twin as the slightly younger man attempted to not think too hard about the situation that he now found himself in. Things had taken quite the turn since Lucia had left the office with V and the others. He couldn’t say that he knew for sure whether or not his brother had specifically waited for them to leave before having this conversation with him, but he was willing to believe that that was more than likely the case. And that in of itself was admittedly fascinating to him. Vergil had never really cared about shaming him out in the open. Had he actually done so in order to not embarrass him any further than he was embarrassing himself due to the fact that they had company over who were not blood members of their family? Because if so, that had been uncharacteristically compassionate of his older twin. “If I had come here with the expectation that you had everything in your life under control, then I would not be able to claim to know you at all. Your financial troubles are something that can be fixed, unlike some of our other troubles.”
Dante couldn’t help but laugh at that statement. “Oh, brother! See, that’s where you're dead wrong. There is no fixing the amount of debt that I’m in. It’s a whole lot worse than just a few power and water bills.” Shaking his head, Dante leaned back and attempted to open the drawer to his desk, cursing himself internally when he had to pull on it much harder than he normally would. He’d shoved something in there before he’d left, and the sliding mechanism had been jammed, but it opened nonetheless. He then produced a worn brown ledger, tossing it onto the desk with a responding thud. Completely unwilling to even look in the general direction of the book, he slid the door shut and glanced over at Vergil, shrugging slightly. “You want a better answer as to what kind of mess I’m in? It’s in there. But you’re not going to like what’s in it.”
Leaning over to pick up the ledger, Vergil gave it a once over for a moment before opening the cover and flipping to the middle of it. Dante had to admire his twin’s insanity for a moment, likening the action of jumping to the middle of someone’s financial history with diving headfirst into ice water without knowing how to swim. Oh, wait… V had literally done just that. Perhaps reckless insanity for the sake of self-preservation ran in the family? Regardless, the frankly calm and placid look on Vergil’s face turned rapidly to confusion and perplexed frustration as he looked over the numbers. He then immediately turned back a few pages, only to realize that his answers were elsewhere. A moment later, he turned back to the very front of the book before furrowing his brow and jumping immediately to the end of the ledger to try and assess the damages in full. There was no point in trying to make sense of something like this. It was simply the kind of situation where you looked at how deep you’d fallen into the hole, and then tried to figure out what you could stack up to try and climb towards the surface again just to have a chance at jumping towards the general direction of the surface that you could probably barely see due to how far down you were. And you could only hope that you were able to grab onto something when you made that just, because if you didn’t? Well, you would just be back at the bottom where you had started in the first place all over again, and at that point, what had you accomplished?
Upon realizing the depth of the issue at face value, Vergil closed the book along with his eyes before letting out a long, exhausted sigh. He then tossed the book back onto the desk as though simply touching it was enough to make him contract some sort of lethal virus. He slumped over the desk for a moment before glancing back towards the back office door and making a b line for it. Dante watched him go, trying his best not to laugh. Yes, now that was a feeling that he could relate to.
“Where ya headed Vergil,” Dante asked, barely hiding his amusement. It was time to see if his twin brother’s new anti-stabbing ethos was something that he was willing to stand by, even in the face of such a frustrating realization. He imagined that Vergil was more than ready to stab him right now.
He stopped, his back to his twin brother. After pausing for a moment, he peered over his shoulder, a slightly disbelieving, shocked, and overall surprised look on his face. “I need a nap, Dante. I think that jetlag has just set in.” He said simply before turning back in the direction of the door.
“You’re telling me, Vergil. Why do you think I sleep so much?” Dante said with s slight laugh, shaking his head as he faced forward into nothingness again. It was incredible how dark it got in there at night without lights to combat the inky blackness.
“Depression? A desire to avoid your problems for a bit longer? Other ill-defined reasons that I care little to discuss at this point in time?” Vergil shrugged nebulously, seemingly resigned to the reality of his fate. How in the world had those numbers gotten like that? It defied logic. It defied reason. Hell, it defied science and math, too! “Those are just the reasons I can think of off of the top of my head. I am not your phycologist.”
At that point, Dante actually did laugh. It seemed that his financial state had managed to strip what little will to live and energy that Vergil still possessed in his body. That many zeros tended to do that to you. “I mean yea, that’s fair, but you don’t have to say it. I have feelings, you know?”
“Do not awaken me until either the utilities are restored or the office burns down Dante. This will take a substantial amount of work, and I am not at all well-rested enough as it currently stands.”
With that, Vergil closed the door to his bedroom, and a moment later, Dante could hear what was definitely his older twin hitting the bed with enough force to go through it. That right there was a mood, and he was positive that he had never once related so much to his brother’s questionable coping mechanisms. Maybe a good night’s rest was in store for them both. It was dark already anyway. What could it hurt? He was sure that no one would mind, least of all Vergil. Considering the way that he slept on the rare occasion that he actually did, he wouldn’t mind literally anything for a very long time. That could only be a good thing at this point.
(-~-)
I couldn’t tell you why, but Google Docs has decided it hates my guts lately. It decided to crash no less than 7 times while I was writing this, taking whole paragraphs with it. It was a nightmare to write. In fact, it crashed once while I was writing this footnote, so this is my second time writing it. Joy! Anyway, happy 2nd DMC5 anniversary everyone! I hope you all had a good time reading this one! Can’t wait to read your comments. Now time to go cry in the corner over my lost paragraphs! Duh du du du du!

Best of DC: Week of November 20th, 2019
Best of this Week: The Question: The Deaths of Vic Sage #1 - Jeff Lemire, Denys Cowan, Bill Sienkiewicz, Chris Sotomayor and Willie Schubert
The Question is one of the best Objectivist heroes.
By extension, that also includes Rorschach since he’s a pastiche of good old Vic Sage himself and it’s easy to see why people gravitate towards them so much. The idea of Objectivism is… iffy to say the least, but being rational, utilizing one's free will and choosing to act in one’s own self interest can be seen as good qualities, especially in the ways that Vic and Rorschach operate. They have good, unwavering moral compasses and do their best to persuade others to their reality.
But their strengths are also their greatest weaknesses.
When Steve Ditko created The Question back in the 60s, he was all into Ayn Rand’s philosophy and that carried over heavily into Vic Sage’s characterization which saw him use almost any means necessary to keep Hub City’s chaos at bay, even going so far as to let criminals live or die on their own merits if Sage left them in precarious situations (Once leaving a man in a sewer drain and calling the cops to either find him or his body.). He was not a good person, but he was what the city needed to survive, much like Rorschach who chose to die rather than live in Ozymandias’ world built on a lie.
This book continues to build off of that characterization while mixing in elements from Dennis O’Neil and Denys Cowan’s 1980s run with the character and brings in his cast of characters and modernizes Hub City’s issues, hopefully to the delight of those wanting to see a return of everyone’s favorite conspiracy theorist/detective/agent of justice. Honestly, it’s a damn good job.
The book begins with The Question savagely breaking up a prostitution ring operating out of the city. He smashes faces into walls, elbows a big guy in the face and when he runs out of people to hit, he turns to the Councilman of Hub City who just so happens to be one of the patrons of the seedy motel. In fear, the Councilman pleads with The Question to not kill him and he responds by pulling out a phone and recording as much as he can, he then elbows the Councilman in the head and steals his ring, hoping that it might help him with other cases. One of the prostitutes thanks The Question for his help, but he rebuffs her and essentially says that she has no future, but the innocent little girl does.
In just one scene we learn everything we need to know about this iteration of Vic Sage; while he’s not a murderer, it is implied that he may have killed before, but he also knows that getting evidence and ruining someone's life with their evil deed is just as effective as a bullet. Though he saved the lives of the prostitute and the child with her, he insults her by calling her a whore, but insists that the little girl be given to the soon to arrive police. It’s another Randian idea that he doesn’t feel sorry for those that have “ruined” their lives in his eyes and he even notes this when he speaks about how Hub City itself is rotten and dying.
Soon after the bust, Vic Sage appears on his news channel and grills Myra Fermin, a character from the O’Neil and Cowan run, on the activities of her brother - incumbent Mayor Wesley Fermin. This is a bit of a change from the O’Neil run as Wesley was Myra’s husband in that series, but Lemire seems to be doing this in an effort to showcase some kind of family loyalty between the two. Sage accuses Wesley of being the man behind Hub City’s wave of crime, linking him to video evidence from an “anonymous source” of the Councilman in the brothel and this catches Myra off guard.
He then continues by saying that the Councilman’s arrest wasn’t mentioned in the police report, obviously showing that they’re corrupt as all hell and when the cameras are cut off, she lambasts him for ambushing her with his accusations and he says that she lacks spine and that the longer she chooses to ignore things, the more complicit she becomes. When the family lawyer comes to take her away from Sage’s “slanderous accusations” and threatens a lawsuit. Vic asks Myra what happened to her that she has to hide behind a lawyer and she replies by saying she grew up, labeling Vic’s objectivism as childish.
In some ways it’s easy to agree with her that the world isn’t necessarily black and white, but at the same time, it’s because of that that Vic’s able to operate in the way that he does. Of course, this doesn’t necessarily mean that either of them are right as Hub City is still suffering and neither of their actions seem to have changed much in that regard. It’s a sad reality that only Vic is able to see since it’s so plain in his face, but when his only solutions are to beat people up and occasionally have evidence that can easily be dismissed by bought off judges, it’s clear that cynicism would win out in the end.
Denys Cowan really does remind me of why the early Question series was so memorable as his style his only improved from the old days. His signature style of hatch shading, Sienkiewicz’s inks and Sotomayor’s colors really set the noir tone of the story. Though it takes place in the modern day, it looks like a 90s book set back in the 50s or 60s and I love that about this. Cowan manages to pull so much emotion out of a character whose most distinct feature is the fact that his mask has none. Vic Sage is angry, he’s tired of this shit and has been for a little while.
Sotomayor does an amazing job contrasting Sage’s double identities with The Question wearing his normal dark blue suit and orange undershirt and Vic Sage wearing a bright brown suit. This symbolizes the dual natures of the man himself, with one operating in the dark and other in the light. This is brought up when Vic goes to speak to his former Chemistry teacher, Tot. Tot is one of the few people that knows Vic is The Question and as they discuss Hub City’s need for Vic Sage more than The Question right now.
Cowan’s art is absolutely beautiful in these scenes. As I will continually state, everything feels very noir-inspired, grimy and dak. Chris Sotomayor is able to beautifully use all of his colors to illustrate the gravity of the situation and show how easily Vic is able to move between his two personas. Using the compound that affixes the featureless mask to his face, a puff of smoke is created and that allows for Sotomayor to transition the blue into brown and vice versa through the scene. It’s amazing to look at when combined with Sienkiewicz dark inks. What’s even better is that the smoke almost forms a question mark in some thematic fun.
Vic says that The Question can do things that Vic Sage can’t and it’s debatable as to whether or not that’s always going to be a good thing. Throughout this scene they also discuss the ring that Vic took from the Councilman and how he seems to have some sort of odd memory or attraction to the symbol on it. While we’re left in the dark initially, I have some speculation as to what it could possibly be and how it may tie in to another incarnation of The Question or if it’s just something completely new and interesting. Sage is convinced that Fermin is involved with it somehow and the conspiracy begins as he notes that Fermin’s lawyer had a similar ring.
When Vic gets back to his office, he starts obsessively drawing the symbol almost from memory and then he questions how he can Google search it...then he does just that, commenting on how the internet has taken the fun out of detective work. It’s a funny crack, especially as he finds information that he absolutely needed and starts building a board for every piece he has, focusing on an old society that used to call Hub City home.
One of the best bits of the book have to be The Questions inner monologue throughout each page. He details, moment by moment, his actions and the actions of two other occurrences at the same time. It feels very Ditko-esque with just a little bit of Rorschach omnipresence thrown in there for good measure, though Sage mentions how he was actually oblivious to the other two events. Likely meaning that he’s writing a journal of the important things shortly after everything’s gone down.
As he enters the former home of the Hub City Elder Society, Myra accidentally walks in on her brother in the middle of putting the screws to the Councilman and in another part of the city a white police officer shoots an unarmed black man. We don’t get to see much more of the other events as the book then mostly spirals into a nightmare for Vic.
Cowan’s art takes a dark turn as The Question walks through the dark tunnel, discovering the symbol on the wall and starting to see horrific visions. Eventually, he stumbles upon the bodies of the Elder Society and a dark hole in the middle of the cave. Cowan and Sienkiewicz turn this into a horror show as the skeletons are strewn across the cave and The Questions visibly hit with fear, wondering if he should let his identity slip away and let the darkness tell him his real name.
Sienkiewicz earns his money through his dark inks in these pages and the few panels he’s given to illustrate nightmares on the level that he did with The New Mutants. The lines are scratchy, dark, sometimes incomprehensible and I absolutely loved them. At one point we get a close up on The Question’s blank face as done by Coan and the following panel is one of those nightmares - a jagged, green face begging “Charlie Victor Szasz” for help. The panel that follows sees The Question jolt back, his body language being the only thing that betrays his blank face as we can clearly see how afraid he is.
He runs out of the tunnel monologuing about how fear pushes one away from the truth and how he only knew fear, especially after having found a blank face mask similar to his own in the cave, only… it was far older than he. Tot calls him soon after and tells him that he’s been trying to reach him for three hours, much to Vic’s surprise. The city is in chaos after the shooting death of David Fuller, the black man mentioned earlier, and there are riots in the streets. Vic’s talk show would have been airing during the time The Question was in the tunnel and the City NEEDED his commentary, but whatever’s going on with the Elder Society and the mask demanded his attention more.
It’s astounding just how bad Hub City was able to get in a few short hours as Cowan portrays the riot as deafening and violent with Vic standing on one side of the street with no violence and the other side being a madhouse with car windows being smashed, bricks being thrown and molotovs flying in the background. At the same time, Myra wasn’t supposed to see what her brother was doing and unfortunately, she picked the wrong time to attain a moral high ground to things. Wesley has her detained in the room to decide which side she’s on, especially knowing that she’s turned a blind eye to his activities in the past.
Vic goes to visit his friend Richard Dragon, the man who taught him how to fight. While he drives, he listens to Wesley Fermin’s statement on the shooting and Fermin tries to deflect any blame from the Officer in question even though there is clear video evidence, he calls it “supposed video evidence.” He comments on the Officer’s history on the HCPD and says it’s too early to lay blame on anyone, claiming that the officer had just cause to “defend” himself. The riots only get more heated.
Vic and Dragon’s prior history is acknowledged, even Vic’s time as a man of Zen is brought up before we learn that he dismissed the “new-age bullshit” in favor of just hitting people. Dragon pours him a cup of tea and Vic tries to seek answers about things he’s seeing, calling them more than visions - memories maybe. Vic notes that all of this has an occult “mumbo-jumbo” feel to it and says he doesn’t believe in superstitious nonsense to which Dragon replies that he must feel the same way about metempsychosis. Before Sage is able to question him about what that means, he feels the effects of whatever drug Dragon put in his drink and he’s sent into a colorful rainbow of a dreamscape, waking up in the past without his face.
I love the fact that Denys Cowan returned to a character that he really helped popularize back when he was first being showcased at DC Comics and Bill Sienkiewicz does an amazing job with the inks in this issue, really helping set the grimy tone. Chris Sotomayor knocked it out of the park with his coloring to give this book life. Of course, the book wouldn’t have been nearly as good if not for Willie Schubert’s expert lettering as well.
This book was an amazingly fun and dark read that really returned The Question back to… at least his 80s roots while still acknowledging the characters past and potentially some of the unexplored parts of his New 52 self. Jeff Lemire does a good job of reintroducing Vic Sage as a nightly news host as well as his supporting cast from Tot to Myra and Richard Dragon. He’s still a good detective and conspiracy theorist, only this time, he’s going to have to go to places that he normally wouldn’t.
As it tends to happen, I’m sure that Book Two will be the absolute best issue of the series and will give us some insight over the many times The Question has lived or died and that’s a mystery that I’m sure Vic Sage would love to solve and find a rational answer for. I honestly also hope that we get some clarity on the other reboots and retcons that he’s endured over time as that seems to be one of the main themes of the book. Vic Sage isn’t enough, so the Question is the other half, but if the Question is no one, then who is he?

So Here's The Thing
Some of you might already know me due to the post here on Spine. I want to clear that up. Hi I’m Zaerindar Sunlash of WrA. The rumor: I solicited nudes involving a minor The truth: Obviously I didn’t. I’m not an idiot, nor am I into the gender of the supposed minor. She also verified with me that she was 18 before I sent her my art which features erotic homosexual content. I verified that before sending anything like that exactly because of this kind of bullshit. The rumor: I was involved in romantic rp that included a character who was 17 The truth: I was involved, yes, but the character (Ayathalla) wasn’t mine. When we first met I was told the character was 19 in human years. Much later down the road (as you will see in the links) the player changed this to make the character younger of his own volition. (He would go on later to change it AGAIN to make the character younger!)This person also wanted to add in NPCs that were underage into the rp. This person was my friend. He had convinced me his life was shit and that I was one of only a handful of people that really understood him. I did not leave the rp nor feel it was appropriate to tell another how to do their character so I foolishly stayed involved. He later joined RAS with me. Earlier this year, I had a huge fight with this player and so they worked together with the person who was a supposed minor to try and slander me, because that’s how revenge works. And hoo boy it probably hasn’t disappointed them. I was removed from my guild because of these things, and then blacklisted for threatening to post about it on this very Tumblr! The screenshot submitted (the one the GM accepted without question) was tampered with, colored over, and cropped from the remaining conversation In Discord to make it look incredibly damning. Now I am being harassed repeatedly on a server I’ve been on since 2010, AND NOW on Spine here in part to my former guild, Royal Apothecary Society, blasting me on discord and likely in-game. As a matter of fact, I know who posted that post about me. (Heads up, it was the GM most likely. A toxic person, who admitted she was toxic to me in DMs. So.) Furthermore, I’ve lost an rp partner because I believe RAS forced her to not associate with me. They also will not rp with anyone associated with me, which is their own choice, but the harassment and lambasting over something I didn’t actually do has got to stop. As for types of rp being bad, we won’t get into how the RAS condones the murder of children in their rps. We won’t talk about how I witnessed an rp that featured initiated based on the murder of a child. Because, so long as its the RAS doing it, it’s alright. Right? Additionally, the RAS guild that I am in on MG? I didn’t start it. It was founded in 2012. I didn’t join it to annoy the members of the one on WrA and we are DEFINITELY NOT sister guilds, so. The Blacksail Company, my current guild, is not involved in any shape or form. This is not their fight. Further furthermore, here are the call outs and links to chat pictures. Characters involved- player who played the 17 year old: Ayathalla <Bloodstorm March> His irl boyfriend: Ordili <Bloodstorm March> Others who have also rp’d erotically with Ayathalla: Ordili’s alts, Abel Sunstride <Dark End Industries> Players involved in harassing me, either by not preventing rumors * or encouraging them; or by harassing others who choose to rp or have contact with me: Seenwood <Royal Apothecary Society> *Plagueguts <Royal Apothecary Society> *Maerlyn <Royal Apothecary Society> Korathel <Royal Apothecary Society> Delacreme <of The Den> (and on multiple alts confirmed through looking at armory pet slots)
Last but not least, the person who accused me of sending nudes: Crystallina (nightborne). She doesn’t play anymore and has deleted all her social media accounts after we exposed her horrible lies.
The nuts and bolts of it? I pissed Thalla off oocly and he sought to remove me as far from himself as possible, and thus this shitstorm happened. When in fact, my only flaw here was conforming to their whims out of a fear of wanting to not lose them as a friend. I was involved in the rps, yes, but I was reluctant, and in many ways felt forced into them. There are many things I am, people, but a pedophile is not one of them.
PS- I am NEVER leaving this server. And by the way to the person who tried to call out my location, it’s Evondre on WrA, Zaerindar on MG, you fucking idiot.

“I say that the people who pray here are wasting their time. God doesn’t watch sports” I know Lucas is pretentious as all hell but this is my favourite line in any sports show ever
Karen is such a good mom ahhhhh like she just wants Lucas to be happy and she knows he’ll put other people’s happiness first
Dan calling Lucas ‘this kid’ like he’s not his wholeass son what a dick
It’s not lost on me that Keith telling Lucas stories about his father means that it’s Lucas’s grandfather Keith Scott is truly the only dad in this show who matters
“So why’d you just tell me all that” because he loves to monologue
“If I could [change the fact that Lucas exists], I would” Dan answer your door I need to send you a very rude telegram
I am in love with Moira Kelly and also I want Karen to punch Dan
The music of this show is really.... transcendent
Djhfkjhfkjh since Lucas is implied to have like, five friends.... is that crowd of supporters hugging him just a bunch of people who think Nathan is a dick
I admire Lucas for deciding he was gonna put up with all this bullshit to do something he loves
Omg I forgot that Brooke wasn’t in the pilot she’s such a major character
“Nice hands” “Nice legs” Emo flirting in a jock setting lmaooooo
My inner 2007 angst awakens every time I hear Gavin Degraw. He is THAT bitch
“You ever think I might want to talk” Peyton and Nathan’s relationship is truly nothing but blind horniness they have nothing in common at all in this juncture of their lives
“I didn’t invite you to come in, I just asked if you wanted to” Peyton is so weird but I kind of want to marry her. Is this what Lucas feels like
Lucas’s economic status is really part of Brooke’s romance criteria at the age of 17 they teach the bourgeois early huh
Oh my god I cannot BELIEVE Jake recommended Atlas Shrugged to Lucas jhjhgjhgjh the undertones of this basketball show really are about capitalism
HAHAHAH Nathan’s word being “revenge” calm down Sasuke Uchiha
I haven’t said so yet but Haley is so very endearing she’s great
God. Lucas turning around to reveal to Dan that he’s cast away his name. HE is that bitch
Ghjkghjkgh Keith hissing at the rude Boosters mum. Love of my life
“Maybe he’s gay” “No, I think he’s just nice” who writes this dumbass show
“Do you even care that it’s slipping away” maybe it’s because I went away for university but the idea that someone is this deeply invested in their kid’s high school basketball career is. A lot
Nathan simultaneously trying to bother Lucas and pass English while about to fall in love: I can multitask!!!
Update: He also managed to trash Lucas’s favourite basketball court somehow in all his business. He really can multitask!
“If it makes you feel any better I called some woman a bitch the other day” [giggle] I love Karen and Lucas’s relationship
Haley is such a good friend to Lucas and hoo boy Nathan when do you grow a conscience
“You’re both so broody. You could brood together” that’s it, that’s Peyton and Lucas
These emails and VCR references are really dating this show
Nathan is a straight up sociopath in these early eps my god he humiliates Lucas publicly twice at this party and just pops over to Haley like “Hey cutie :) Idk why Lucas is so mad :) I’m rlly nice :)”
Nathan really taking his girlfriend’s car to hit on another woman how much of a crapbag
As soon as I said this he (drunk?) drove her car into a streetlight my god
Deb and Karen having a nice lesbian coffee shop AU would be a pleasant turn in this show instead of literally anything that happens in either of their narratives
“Why would you even go there” “Because I loved getting dumped on” That is... accurate
“I’ll call you when you’re not so PMS” said Nathan, when his (ex) girlfriend rightfully lambasted him for crashing her car
I take it back Peyton and Nathan do have one thing in common it’s their disregard for traffic laws
HELL YEAH Keith IS your dad Lucas <3 <3 <3 <3
Whitey talks a lot of shit for someone who advised Dan to abandon Luke
I had been wondering why Lucas had the Scott name when Dan is such an ephemeral piece of shit and I guess there’s my answer thanks Karen
Does Haley ever find out about the shit Nathan pulled at the party I feel like these are relevant details in her budding affection
“Dad send you to spy on me? Poison my drink?” This is the second time in two episodes Deb has been accused of being Dan’s spy I wonder if she still considers that a red flag 17 years into marriage
“One of the boys doesn’t have a father” BUUUUURN Dan
Rhkgjhgjkh the last moment of this scene:
Keith: There is enough room in my heart for each of my brother’s mistreated sons even the rude ones Nathan
Nathan, experiencing a split second of paternal love: :O
Ghkjghkjgh the Scott bonding in hatred of Dan continues with Lucas asking Nathan if he too would like to spite Dan:
Lucas: You will be receiving your “I Hate Dan Scott” Club invitation in the mail shortly Nathan, mom, Uncle Keith and I hold meetings biweekly
Nathan: Biweekly as in every two weeks or twice a week
Lucas: Both! See you on Tuesday
“Does this mean we’re dating” yes it does the mixed CD is emo code
“Good luck with your game” “yeah, you too, Ma” hehehehe
Someone revoke this college medic’s license hoo boy
Ghjghkgh Lucas keeping his money tucked into his boxers what a doofus
I can’t believe Nathan and Lucas’s second big bonding moment is threatening dudes while in their boxers after beating on each other what a brotherly bond lmao
Okay but highkey if ur a lady and ur friends are gonna leave you alone and vulnerable at night get new friends
“I can live without my shirt” Nathan is thirteen shades of petty lmaooo
Dan is such a bad (abusive) father that Nathan literally would prefer to have none at all my god
“Can I tell you a secret? I pretended too” just get marrrried
“Thanks for cutting Lucas some slack” talk about accepting the bare minimum Haley kjhgkjhgkj
Brooke is really unbearable in this episode is it any wonder her, Lucas and Peyton’s relationship is as dysfunctional as it will soon become
Hoo boy the one (1) time Nathan doesn’t do something douchey and he gets blamed for it
LMAO @ Lucas approaching the one girl at this school with commitment issues with a bold “I wanna be here [in your heart]” hahaha
“Yeah, they can have their world,” said Lucas to Haley, about the two people they would literally go on to marry
The fact that Peyton doesn’t turn off her webcam and just covers it also really speaks to the era
This Gabe dude is really ready to assault a minor like he’s not just a r*pist he’s also a predator double KO
It is not lost upon me that it looks like one pill has been popped out before so he is also a serial r*pist big fucking yikes
“What, you got a cellphone too, dawg? Things sure have changed” also quite dated hahahaha
They really went out of the way to redeem Brooke not only did she give Nathan and Haley a very very cute date she also saved her friend from being assaulted
“So you don’t have any brothers, do you” jhgkhgkhg Brooke please
“Why are you only nice to me when we’re alone” a very legitimate question Haley
Nathan’s dating methodology: There’s nothing in life that can’t be solved with make-outs
Deb is really so nice but every time I look at her I think of her drinking a lot and sleeping with Nathan’s friends lmao
Haha that North Carolina sign explains the mild Southern accents
Aieeeeeeeeeee you kiss that man and follow your dreams Karen
Even if Nathan is still A Lot this season him and Haley are so cute:
Haley, smiling: We can’t do this here right now
Nathan, giggling: We just did
Lucas says more to Dan by constantly leaving with a look of disgust than any words ever could
“My heart’s racing too. That’s what happens when I’m around you. (And on drugs. I’m very unstable Haley.)”
Lucas and Nathan’s very intentional “pressure from your dad” and “you don’t know anything about my dad” bc Lucas will not acknowledge that Senor Crabag Sr. is anything resembling a father bless
Drunk tattoos with crush’s bff Lucas has decided to make all mistakes at once and I respect it
Poor Keith he is trying his best but Lucas just chose this week to hit his rebellious phase
YESSSSSSSSSS DEB KICK THAT ASS OUT OF THIS HOUSE
“Do you really think that Nathan would choose you over me” uh???? Are you not aware you are... the worst father in town
Brooke you were fully aware of Peyton and Lucas’s vibing and actively pursued him/interfered so you have no moral high ground to be like “:) I’d never choose a boy over my friendship”
Skillz and Mouth accurate “hoo boy don’t look” when ur friends start PDA
“Mom doesn’t want things to get back to normal, she wants them to be better” hell yeah Nathan gaining emotional intelligence
Lucas quit projecting your childhood issues onto Jake he too is a child let him decide how he wants to live Jenny’s 6 months old not like she’s gonna remember lmao
Damn Nathan LET LOOSE on Dan fuck that dude
JGFHJGFJGFJH I forgot Gavin Degraw had a cameo hahahahah
Did Luke.......... break into Jake’s house. His parents work at night how was he able to get into Jake’s coffee table
“You do not have to feel like a third wheel” The pure dumbass energy.... Peyton is literally CRYING do u really think her issue is “third wheel” you KNOW she and Lucas had a thing Brooke???????
Me watching this team form a brotherly bond over their mutual love of basketball: Mayhaps sports are... good
Hahahaha Lucas threatening Peyton’s dad with a rake is weirdly endearing
“Hey you.” “Hey you, and you,” is a good summary of this seasons Brooke/Lucas/Peyton dynamic lmao
Why is Dan’s head... shaped that away. It is like a bar of soap
“I don’t mind you playing ‘Daddy’ to one of my offspring, but leave the good one alone, will you?” Dan. Meet me in the Denny’s parking lot at midnight and we’ll have words
“The whole Nice Guy thing is wearing kind of thin” foreshadowing for all the dick moves Lucas is about to pull lmao
“He’s got you skipping school now?” “Lucas talk to me when you get your tattoo removed”
Lucas:
Lucas is such a meddler lmao how many family dynamics is he going to alter
I don’t trust Dan being nice for a minute all he wants is the upper hand with Deb in the inevitable custody battle over Nathan
Props to Nathan and Haley for somehow, some way, being the only normal couple on this show despite their incredibly dubious origins lmao
Scott family dinners are bananas I count four (4) major revelations and they haven’t even revealed that Deb and Dan are separated
Lucas and Peyton are really hitting every fictional couple trope in this ep - road trip, bed sharing, hurt/comfort, truly the YA bases
“The truth? In this house?” Props to Deb for drama lmao
Brooke saying ‘I love you’ you’ve been dating for like two episodes but okay kjhgkjhg
I can’t say I understand Nathan’s logic lmao but I guess they have to bring him back to basketball sometime
Wow Lucas zero hesitation on that second kiss lmao u r a mess
This scene is the definition of “that escalated quickly” they go straight to undressing
HAHAHAH NATHAN BEING SHIRTLESS IN HALEY’S DREAM FOR NO REASON 10/10 TEENAGE ACCURACY
“How do you explain being with me and not her?” “Because with you, I saw a future” that’s Dan code for ‘I’m a gold digger’
You’re literally macking on Peyton in the middle of the hallway while you’re dating the other most popular girl in school Lucas how are you this ridiculous and bold BREAK UP WITH BROOKE U DUMBASS
“So what are we going to do” I’ll tell you what you should do BREAK UP WITH BROOKE
Keith it is still daylight out stop bringing alcohol into this high school you have a drinking problem
“Can’t control love, you know?” THAT’S NOT ADVICE LUCAS BREAK UP WITH BROOKE
I really can’t handle watching Keith and Lucas self-destruct this episode how is Nathan the only Scott in a happy, healthy relationship
“You know that this is... wrong, so that makes it feel... deeper?” Lucas asks, as if he were not entirely in the wrong by carrying on with Peyton (who is not in a relationship) while dating Brooke
“I don’t want to hurt Brooke,” he said, about to start his third secret cheating makeout session of the week
“But then again our spouses aren’t here are they” [Deb opens door] COMEDIC TIMING
Gjjhgkjhg Nathan revealing his messed up intentions with Haley entirely by accident Scotts have no self-control whatsoever it’s their kekkei genkai
Lucas evading responsibility for his romance crimes by literally dying
Hahahah Karen’s confused vibes at Brooke are kind of the highlight of this episode
How funny would it be if Lucas woke up to Karen scolding him about his tattoo
Hahahaha for such dysfunctional partners Nathan and Peyton are excellent exes
AHHHHHHHHH LUCAS WAKING UP TO HIS BROTHER... MY HEART
Keith rlly was gonna propose after zero (0) days of dating I’m telling you no self-control is truly the Scott clan kekkei genkai
Ahhhh bless Karen’s compassion
Dan is literally blackmailing his son into staying in his custody he is in Deb’s words an “abusive son of a bitch”
Fucking finally Lucas ends this sham of a relationship with Brooke
It’s wild that Nathan is the only Scott with a happy and healthy romantic relationship
Nathan divorcing his parents is a real power move
I’m glad Haley announced Sheryl Crow’s name because let me tell you I would not have recognized her on sight
“How’s my daughter” Lucas really chooses exclusively to hook up with people who have devastating emotional consequences for his immediate friend group huh
“Funny I didn’t know you were forgiving at all” Lmao Peyton is that really the position you’re going to take after cheating with your best friend’s boyfriend
All the deodorant product placement lmao ‘this ep sponsored by Secret’
All things considered I think Lucas is handling Haley’s constant ditching p well
Bfhkghghjg Keith buying a new shirt just to go to dinner with Karen stop
OH MY GOD THE EP REALLY WAS SPONSORED BY SECRET IT’S GOT SECRET ON THE CHEER COMPETITION BANNERS AND A LITTLE GIFT BAG RANDOMLY IN ALL THE CHEERLEADER CONFRONTATIONS JKGHKJGH
The comedic timing of “hungover idiots” panning to Karen and Larry kills me
“She used to be this totally original.... Haley” what does this mean????
I don’t think Nathan and Haley are being entirely fair to Lucas bc he was only a dick once she ditched him twice (or thrice?) in one weekend
This boy toy auction as a concept is so inappropriate on so many levels
“I get Nathan for free” Fhjkfhkfjh Haley pls
God I was so very concerned about whether or not Nathan and Peyton were gonna kiss
“You’re not a mess, you’re just in love” [Ole Del Paso Girl voice] Why not both?
“She’s nine months old, just in case you forgot” to be fair I assume Nikki gave birth so she would remember that you can’t hold that one over her
It must take Lucas some mental disconnect to assume Peyton and Nathan are cheating when he also kissed Haley
Fhjfhkjfhjfh Keith fulfilling my fave trope of ‘we are not even dating but how about we get married bc we’ve been repressed in love for years’
“You know I asked your mom to get an abortion,” said Dan, to his literal son
I really can’t figure where this pregnancy storyline is going bc I know Brooke doesn’t have a baby
Nathan and Haley really need to consider oral or smth there’s a middle ground between making out and having vaginal sex
“It all hurts just the same” Brooke really out here trying to say that cheating is in any way equivalent to faking a pregnancy (even if only for a week)
Peyton and Brooke are way more invested in each other than Lucas
“I got you a high five” Hahahhaa I love Peyton
Gary like: Wow Nathan it’s humanizing that your father is an abusive dick
“Maybe this is the one that changed him” Lucas joining Dan as the second and only non-Dan member of the Dan Scott Apologism Club
It’s wholly unreasonable that Haley expects her boyfriend not to look at p*rn lmao
I love all this Lucas and Nathan bonding but I hate that it comes at the cost of Dan being near them at all u stay away from those boys u manipulative fuck
Ah the foreshadowing about Peyton changing in front of her webcam finally pays off
I’m no legal expert but I don’t think that taking your daughter out of state will help you in the custody battle in the long term Jake - nor will dropping out of high school
“What do I get out of it” r u 4 real Keith u dont get payment for loving your family
“I’m leaving because I can’t look at you anymore without my heart breaking” I like you Keith but that sounds like a You Problem
This is a fun way to shoot this episode One Tree Hill has such good directing tbh
Nathan discarding the Scott name from his jersey just like Lucas did in ep 2:
Haley: Having sex will solve all of my problems Nathan what are you talking about
I remembered that at some point Deb and Keith have sex and I’m glad they fuck things up early bc I could not deal if it was later on
“I’ll miss you too, little brother” 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
KJKGHKJHGJHKJHGKJHKJ I CAN’T BELIEVE NATHAN AND HALEY GOT MARRIED JUST TO HAVE SEX THIS IS WHY THEY DON’T LET PEOPLE YOUNGER THAN 18 VOTE
#ayesha says things#ayesha liveblogs oth#liveblogging#long post#a very long post lmao#one tree hill#this is the kind of content i make now lol

ebss 01 - 03.05.19 lbs
wedding shenanigans all over, 3 tons of makeup and hairspray finally off me, hurty feet soaking in a bucket of hot water, let's finally see what indian tv's most adorable sociopath is up to!
01.05.19
oh right. i forgot papa from hell had collapsed.
janhvi taking charge as usual, while every other idiot just stands around dithering. honestly, i don't blame her one bit for wanting to murder these useless fucks.
kavya be like yaaaaaaaar kahaan phas gayi main???
oh dhruv also got into the ambulance huh.
NO ONE BOTHERED TAKING THE MOM??? MAN, FUCK Y'ALL.
lollllll. janhvi and ishaani are stealthy whatsapping on the go.
UGH THIS FUCKER. I HATE HIM SO MUCH. HE'S SUCH A NASTY PIECE OF WORK, HONESTLY.
GAADI GHUMAAO??? ABBE OH, YEH AMBULANCE HAI, TERE GHAR KI GAADI NAHI.
lol PK calling out for dhruv being the clueless dolt that he is.
ok honestly, fuck these old ppl. he's a kid. a tinyass baby.
lol kabir, you'll wish your dad really had a heart attack in like.... 2 min. just you wait.
yupppppp.
ishaani is me. “scene kya hai????”
kavya [internally]: “vyom's family was probably so much more lowkey.“
lmao what a messy bitch.
i think janhvi genuinely cares for aarush.
yup. she likes the kid. messing with him is the line she won't cross.
how ironic that the only person i've ever seen on tellywood care about a child's mental health is a "villain".
LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. OH JANHVI. BACK IN STONE COLD MODE AGAIN I SEE.
JFC WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THIS FUCKING ASSHOLE!!!!!!!!!!
oh shit dhruv got a whack or two too.
janhvi's flashing back to the crimes against her dad.
aw mannnnnnnnnnn.
kabir's finally had it.
“zabaan ladaata hai apne baap ke saath?????????” god i hate this dumbass argument. he said nothing wrong. fucking get a grip.
this fucker's gonna get a heart attack for real and then no one's gonna believe him. (good.)
janhvi to the rescue. as per usual.
someone put a muzzle on this fucker.
kabir spitting some real truths and calling out his dumbass dad for being the regressive asshat he is. nice. i like him. he's a boringass dude (till now), but he's got his heart in the right place.
LMAO HE ALREADY SAID HE WAS LEAVING, YOU DON'T GET TO PRETEND YOU ARE THE ONE ORDERING HIM OUT. LOSER.
bir be like come on kid, we getting the fuck outta this madhouse. i can't stand it here any more than you can.
big bro trying to persuade, but shivaay singh oberoi lvl of big brother he is not. so lil bro is like fuck offfff.
lo idhar doosra drama. mummy, why don't you just take one of your meds and go the fuck to sleep. honestly.
blah blah blah precap waala drama.
oh ho, sirf mummy nahi, janhvi bhi giri hai.
why does she keep saying she'll die if kabir leaves? like is it just mummy wali hyperbole or a genuine fear for her life???
ishaani is most relatable in this ep. lambasting di for playing the fool and throwing herself down the stairs, and most of all, cussing out PK’s existence.
di is quite nihilistic and dgaf.
lmao “we all have to be forgiving and loving, papa.” hello kettle, this is pot. you're black.
khee khee khee.
02.05.19
time for some awkwardly romantic marham-patti.
lmaooooooo the sax music kicking in right as she says “apna kurta utaaro.” subtle, show. veryyyyyyyy subtle.
ok bish that much haldi doesn't cure anything. come the fuck on.
sexual tension ki hawa chali.
kavya is like time to be dheent as all other tellywood heroines. we shall stay here and tolerate the zillat and zalaalat because Family™.
lol idhar this idiot is clueless and chipper as ever.
and her face says everything that it has to. (“bitch shut up, you know nothing.”)
oh ho, she has very austere eating habits. no doubt from her poverty waala childhood.
she's gonna end up falling in love with this simpleass fool, isn't she? ugh.
UGH. UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.
HEIN HEIN HEIN?????????? SORRY??????
we already know what's coming toh ainvayi ka buildup kyun.
her sindoor is so tedha, it's bothering me.
“main un filmon ka villain baap nahi hoon,” says the villain baap of the show.
god can he just hand over the cheque so she can rip him to bits.
yuck he's being super creepy. “fulfill your needs”, ick.
“amount bharne ke liye pen chahiye.” god i wish she'd actually take the money and fucken walk away from this shitshow. par saare heroines ko moral integrity dikhaani hai.
lol. dekha. integrity. pft.
"mujhe bas shagun ke 11 rs chahiye. aur is ghar mein acceptance.” lol didi, woh toh milne se raha 200+ episodes tak.
he told her not to do melodrama of phaadofying cheque and yelling and yeh dekho.
lololololol god i love her.
hein???? is this supposed to be aarush???? it's not the same kid as the last eps, is it????
throw hands, kabir. throwwww handssssss. no one talks to your kid like that!
oh how maaji's tune has changed. now she's all KAVYA HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!
JFC VIDHWA POOJA WHAT THE FUCKEN HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU FREAKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
ofc janhvi ko yaahan bhi mahaan banna hai. why did she have to admit she put the idea into their heads tho???
lord above mummy toh melodrama par utar aayi.
UGH THIS GUY???? WHY'S HE STILL IN THE HOUSE? DOESN'T HE HAVE A PRESSCON TO GO TO??????
new bachcha is a little too precocious. do not like.
thank god at least dadaji and dhruv have some decency left.
god i think i hate him more than tej oberoi. which is not an easy task.
oh shit. kabir's here. DRAAAAAAAAAAMA TIME.
janhvi valiantly trying with her chikni-chupdi baatein, but kabir used logic and rationality! KO!
oooh kabir's gonna do something juicy, i can feel it.
SHRAADH! YIIIIIIIKES.WHOSE THO, PAPA’S OR HIS OWN???
no need for a dna test, kabir is fully his parents' son, proved by his 100% inheritance of the dramatic genes from BOTH sides.
03.05.19
damn ok i really like kabir. for both having the stones to stand up to This Fucker™, as well as making it entertaining as helllllll when he does it.
bg mein iske expressions lajawaab.
go bir! go bir!
(minor question tho, bachche ko wahin poha-jalebi ke thele pe chodh aaya kya???????)
oh shut up dude. he was fully leaving till your dumbass wife begged him not to.
lmaooooooooooo.
bir like bitch i'm bored of your bs. i'm not leaving. imma stay right here and fight your old regressive ass. try me, you old fart. just try me.
lololololol it's amazing how everyyyyyyyyyy single person is overjoyed to hear that This Fucker™ finally has it coming to him via kabir.
“yeh sab karna mera agenda nahi hai. main toh bas... yoon hi. aise hi.” lol army se lambi chhutti mili hai, bore ho raha hoga.
oh thank god, the kid's at home.
shit, bir and kavya gonna get into a fight now.. ouff yaar, it's not even a real marriage yet, to put up with the garbage bits of it.
“i can explain everything.”
“achcha? toh yeh petrol ke prices kyun badhte jaa rahein hain?”
snort. snarky motherfucker.
ok kabir, i was on your side till now but there's no need to take that tone with her and call her stupid. go yell at your dumbass emotional blackmailing mother.
ofc This Fucker™ has some shady goon-minion.
wth is "pre-history"???
whooooooooo this and why is janhvi scared of him????
i'm sure they have "pre-history". someone who saved her from the fire or something? in any case, he's someone who knows her story and may or may not be affiliated with her.
WOMEN AND PARTICULARLY WIDOW EMPOWERMENT IS HIS THEME HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
dhruv is like dude you are sooooooo full of shit but i don't have the balls like kabir to call you out, so imma glare at you resentfully.
lololololol everyone got the video of him cussing out kavya at the vidhwa pooja.
MY AVENGING ANGEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
but also that burnt structure is still just standing there like 20 years later???? they didn't knock it down? it didn't FALL down???
aise toh yeh ban gaya mayor.
uh girl i don't think you should walk into the building???
yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas. fuck him upppppp ladies.
flashback time.
arre yeh toh pehle waala naitik haina???
oh something nasty is coming.
this isn't their home???? then what random house is this????
oh boy.
sighhhhhhhhhhhh.
oh shit who's knocking???????? bet it's the creepy driver.
tomorrow: PK continues to fly off the handle and be a massive douchecanoe to everyone. kabir continues to throw his body in front of kavya's to protect her. janhvi continues to simper and smirk.

Okay so I saw that you haven't gotten any asks about this so! I am here to fix it!! 😁 For the BNHA Asks, lemme say 3, 15, 19, and 21?? Sorry if that's a lot bestie!! Love you!!
BNHA Ask Key
Hey! Thank you so much for sending this to me, even though I took a long time to answer it - I just started rambling throughout most of these questions, so it took a little longer than it should have to answer ^-^’
Hope you enjoy my long-ass, rambling answers tho :P
3. Favourite Villain - Hmmmmm, that’s a good question…! I do love myself some good villains, and My Hero Academia has no shortage of them, but oddly enough, it’s rare that I think about who my favourite villain could be. And the second I started typing out that last sentence, the answer hit me:
Tomura Shigaraki.
Ah, it figures… My favourite protagonist is the main character and my favourite antagonist is the main villain. Geez, my choices for favourites sound so typical and boring ^-^’ Seriously though, I was rewatching the entirety of My Hero Academia up to season 3 recently, and I realized just how… interesting a villain Shigaraki is.
Shigaraki starts off immature and childish, reaching for a goal even he isn’t quite sure about, blowing up at the slightest setbacks. He’s threatening, but without a clear goal, he doesn’t come off as a threat. Just a man-child with murderous tendencies, taking whatever pleases him. Then he’s humbled (thank you Stain) and forced to consider his intentions, what it is he really wants. Then he reaches an epiphany (thank you Izuku) and finally figures out what his goal is…!
From then on, Shigaraki is more mature, more focused, able to make decisions without letting his emotions get the best of him. He proves himself to be a damn good strategist and psychological manipulator. He’s actually a threat now!
People, this is character development! For a villain! We’ve seen fledgling heroes learn what it means to be proper heroes - that’s basically the arc for every protagonist in My Hero Academia - but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a fledgling villain learn how to properly “villain.” It is fascinating. And that’s setting aside the fact that the guy clearly has a terribly tragic backstory! That’s setting aside the fact that he actually cares deeply for All For One, the man who is nurturing his villainous tendencies, acting as the wise sensei in Shigaraki’s “villain academia.”
That… got a little longer than I intended. TL;DR, Tomura Shigaraki is a fascinating villain and he is my favourite MHA villain.
15. Least Favourite Quirk - Oooh, that’s an interesting question. If I had been asked what my favourite quirk was, I would probably just list a bunch of quirks I personally found really cool…! Even the most underutilized quirks can become interesting if you really think about all the possible applications and techniques that can be used/must be used for it to be as ‘good’ as it is! If I really had to choose though, I might have to say Minoru Mineta’s Pop-Off.
It has nothing to do with the quirk itself really, or its utilization, cause it’s actually a very useful quirk that has been utilized well throughout the show. But, Mineta kind of annoys me, and so by association, his quirk annoys me. Makes me feel bad for the quirk, really.
19. What were your thoughts before watching the show? - I didn’t really have many thoughts before watching My Hero Academia. I guess you could say I didn’t expect much of it. The idea and premise seemed interesting, and I knew the English dub had some serious talent behind it, so its seemed worth checking out. I just didn’t have any expectations going into the first episode, and all I mentally asked was that I like the main character.
Cue the main character’s overall joy and enthusiasm, cue me actually crying not halfway through the first episode, and this show pretty much instantly stole my soul and hugged it in an inescapable grip.
21. What or who got you interested in giving it a try? - Oh this is a fun story…! Honestly, I probably would not have ever known about My Hero Academia (at least not for a good while) if I hadn’t first gotten into Danganronpa.
For a good while, Danganronpa was the only Japanese-originated series I truly loved, including the original games and the spin-off animes. After I finished the entire series though, I was kinda hungering for more content. I really liked the English voice actors in both the games and the anime, Bryce Papenbrook and Johnny Yong Bosch being my particular favourites, so I started looking for animes with dubs featuring either of them.
good lord im gonna be lambasted for saying that arent i
Alongside Bosch and Papenbrook, I also found myself extremely impressed by the work of one Justin Briner, who voiced both Ryota Mitarai and the Ultimate Imposter disguised as Ryota Mitarai in the Danganronpa 3 anime. Both characters successfully came off as their own person despite being voiced by the same guy.
also i was especially impressed with briners ability to believably have mitarai outright sobbing at the end of the series
So when I found out that Briner voiced the main character of this show called My Hero Academia, I was like, “Oh cool, I’ve heard him voice supporting characters in Danganronpa, I wonder what he would be liking voicing a main character…! The idea and premise seems interesting enough, anyway.”
And… Yeah. This show has a tight grip on my heart, and I am consistently impressed by the English voice work Briner and everyone else working on the English dub. Seriously, Briner’s Deku voice is the best and I’m certain I’ve talked about how amazed I am at Clifford Chapin’s performance as Katsuki Bakugo.
Heck, alongside becoming one of my most favourite shows ever of all time, this show revitalized my interest in voice acting! How bout that?
