Human Rights or Hidden Agendas: Exposing Well-Known NGOs and Prostitution Legalization - Donor Beware
Many of us might regularly or occasionally donate money to NGOs, and you are probably aware that there are many NGOs that support pimps and sex buyers rather than people in prostitution, advocating for the legalization of prostitution.
However, some might not be aware that very famous NGOs like Amnesty International (AI), Human Rights Watch (HRW), Open Society Foundations (OSF), Human Rights Campaign (HRC), International Women's Health Coalition (IWHC), and even the Global Alliance Against Traffic in Women (GAATW), International Women's Rights Action Watch Asia Pacific (IWRAW Asia Pacific), as well as some UN bodies and agencies like the World Health Organization (WHO), United Nations Development Program (UNDP), United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), International Labour Organization (ILO), and the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS) are among them.
This makes the pro-prostitution movement feel justified in claiming theirs is a ‘human rights’ approach to prostitution. For those who wish to genuinely support individuals in prostitution and porn, it's advisable to reconsider donating to these organizations. Instead, direct your support to NGOs that take a firm stance against prostitution and pornography.
Here is a compelling (but shortened) paragraph delving into NGOs advocating for the legalization of prostitution and the origins of this movement as discussed in Julie Bindel's book, 'The Pimping of Prostitution':
'On 8 March 2015, the journalist and eminent anti-trafficking activist Ruchira Gupta was on her way to the Apollo Theatre in New York, to give the keynote address as the Woman of Distinction Awardee at the non-governmental organisation Commission on Status of Women (CSW). Gupta was traveling with Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, UN Under-Secretary General and Executive Director of UN Women.
[...]
Women and government representatives from all over the world attend this event, and Gupta was thrilled to have been given this award because it was an acknowledgement from her peer group of the work she had been doing to end sex-trafficking.
Just before arriving at the Apollo, Gupta received an email from a committee member of the New York CSW telling her not to mention the word ‘prostitution’ in her speech. ‘I was aghast since my entire work was with prostituted women and my award was for that work’, Gupta said at the time.
Gupta emailed the committee member and asked how she could give a speech in which she did not represent the views of the members of her organisation? ‘[The woman who emailed me] replied that she had been asked by the Chief of Civil Society at UN Women to stop me from speaking about prostitution’, says Gupta. ‘This was bizarre. Why should an NGO body try to censor me and stop me from speaking about a subject for which they had given me an award?’
The reason soon became apparent to Gupta. The NGO had received money from an organisation that supports and profits from the sex trade. The Chief of Civil Society at UN Women had been circulating a letter, via her official UN Women email address, to all NGOs asking for prostitution to be legalised as ‘sex-work’, and pimping and brothel-keeping to be legalised as ‘employers’ of poor women.
Gupta recalls:
‘I went ahead and gave the speech I had prepared about how prostitution was an outcome of inequality and not a choice ’, says Gupta. ‘I said that the punishment of pimps, Johns and brothel-keepers was what prostituted women and their daughters in India desperately wanted. All they had was the law to protect them. [...] I pleaded for UN Women to punish those who buy and sell her and to invest in reducing her vulnerabilities. I reminded them the UN Declaration of Human Rights stood for protection of the weak and not the powerful.
At the end of her speech, Gupta received a rousing reception from the delegates, comprising feminist NGOs from every corner of the globe. But not everyone was happy with her. ‘Unfortunately, I saw the Chief of Civil Society whisper and walk away with the head of UN Women before I spoke’, says Gupta.'
Perhaps, it is not surprising that those NGOs, prioritizing money over human rights, now strongly advocate for complete decriminalization. This inclination may be influenced by the fact that organizations like UNAIDS and the WHO have their headquarters in Geneva, where a fully legalized prostitution system is in place. During her research on Switzerland's legalized prostitution system, Julie Bindel learned from a woman working in a Geneva-based human rights organization that her colleagues are active users of prostitution:
Friday night is known as ‘ho’ night. The men in my team literally brag about going to prostitutes. One of the roles in the team is to raise awareness about trafficking and irregular migration, but these guys go out and abuse them without any thought.
Engaging in sex buying while formulating policies on prostitution constitutes a clear conflict of interest. My understanding is that the purchase of sex by UN staff is already prohibited according to the UN Staff Regulations and Rules, as clarified in the Secretary-General's bulletin ST/SGB/2003/13.
Exchange of money, employment, goods or services for sex, including sexual favours or other forms of humiliating, degrading or exploitative behaviour, is prohibited.
However, it seems that the these rules and regulations are not enforced, especially within certain UN bodies and subsidiaries located in Geneva, leading to a tendency for biased policy decisions. Naturally, individuals who purchase sex would favor an approach that legitimizes prostitution, as opposed to the Nordic Model, which criminalizes both sex buying and all forms of pimping.
By the way most of the major funding organizations supporting women's organizations, such as the Open Society Foundation, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Mama Cash, and various UN bodies, have been influenced by lobbyists from the sex industry. As a result, these funding bodies typically do not allocate funds to organizations operating in this field unless they endorse complete decriminalization. Consequently, women's organizations not in favor of full decriminalization often face a lack of financial support, especially those in the global South who may lack resources for a website, making them relatively unknown on the international stage. These organizations heavily rely on donations from private citizens. So before you donate to an NGO, check where they stand on prostitution and porn.

Arrogant Bastard — CM Punk x Reader Smut
Summary; You had never liked Punk. He was cocky, arrogant and self obsessed. He practically thought he was Gods gift to Earth, and knew just how to piss you off. But when he gets to the route of your tension and bad attitude, you came to accept that maybe he wasn’t all talk… sometimes.
Word count: 3120
Warnings: MDNI, 18+, suggestive content, female masturbation, female receiving oral, fingering, an extremely cocky but selfless Punk. Probably quite poorly written smut
“Fuck!” You yelled, slapping your hand against the wall as you stormed past it. A few of your coworkers chuckled lowly at you as you moved past them, just low enough to not anger you any further. That was until you got into the locker room and was greeted by the smuggest bastard you worked with. You hit your locker with an open palm, the sound echoing around the room and making him laugh without shame. Your neck snapped to him, glaring harsh daggers towards his stupid smirking face.
“Michelle pissed you off that bad, huh?” He grinned, enjoying the rage emitting from you. It was as if he got a sick pleasure from seeing you so wound up, so enraged.
“Fuck you, Punk.” You spat, marching over to him and getting in his personal space in hopes of him feeling the angry heat radiating off of you. Your negativity was far too amusing to him for your intimidation tactics to work though, and his smirk stayed firmly in place.
“I think you’re the one who needs to get fucked. So much built up tension.” He joked, poking your tensed arm muscles only to receive a slap to his chest.
“You’re such a perv.” You chastised him, your cheeks flaring as his words hit you. It truly had been a long time since you had anyone other than your hand pleasured you. Sex just wasn’t on your mind at the moment with how often you worked. Trying to find someone who fit into your schedule proved to be too difficult, and eventually you just stopped trying.
And Punk noticed your reddened cheeks — because why wouldn’t he, he was always looking for ways to piss you off — which only made his smirk widen. “How long has it been since you last relieved some tension? By how bitchy you are, I wouldn’t be surprised if you were still a virgin.” That bastard.
“I’m obviously not a fucking virgin, asshole. I’ve just been… busy.” You finished lamely, your cheeks glowing and his little chuckle only worsened that.
“Well no wonder you’ve been as pissy as you have been! You need someone to help you let go.” His words held another connotation to them, which only made you frown and chuckle humourlessly.
“Yeah well the guys I’ve been with have never been able to help me let go anyways, so not really that much help.” You muttered, turning to walk away when you realised what you just admitted to a man you couldn’t stand. You span back to him, your finger raised to point at him and glare back in place. “Repeat that to anyone and I’ll make you regret it, I promise you.” You threatened, but became unnerved by the way he was looking down at you.
“Wait. No one else has ever made you—“
“Don’t rub it in, Punk. You know, you don’t have to be a dick all the time.” He held his hands up in surrender, shaking his head slightly.
“I wasn’t gonna. I’m just shocked. The guys you get with must be bigger assholes than even me.” You creased your brows at him, not understanding his point.
“Guys can barely ever get girls there. All the girls I’ve spoke to say they can count on their hands the amount of times guys have made them cum.” You shrugged, suddenly feeling shyer than you ever had around him before. You didn’t discuss these kinds of details with your male friends, let alone a man you barely put up with.
“No guys just think with their dicks. I always get women there before I cum.” He spoke confidently, and just reminded you once again you were engaging in conversation with the most arrogant bastard you knew.
“You’re the cockiest son of a bitch.” You chuckled in disbelief, and left the conversation before it went any further. Punk cocked his head to the side as he watched you collect your things hastily, clearly affected by his words, and go to leave the locker room.
Just before you opened the door, he spoke. “Not cocky, just factual.” Was all he said before turning back to his own locker. You shook your head, and proceeded to storm out of the room with a new embarrassment mingling with your rage.
You took a long, hot shower that evening when back at your hotel. The mission was for it to dissolve all tension in your body. You shaved everywhere, exfoliated, shampooed, conditioned, washed, even did a stupid hair mask that you were certain didnt actually do anything but smelt good so you included it. Hell, you even oiled AND moisturised your body head to toe. You smelt edible and felt as soft as silk, but your muscles were still tense and your mind still swirled with frustration. Your last resort was to touch yourself. It usually worked to ease the tension in your body, not completely but enough to wind down on especially stressful days.
You got into bed and began lightly tracing circles over your nipples, trying to get yourself a little more sensitive. Your breaths got heavier after a moment, and you used your other hand to dip inbetween your folds to spread around the wetness that had collected there. It felt good, and you continued as usual with soft but deliberate movements that usually had you unravelling in minutes. But as some cruel, sick twist of fate, all your mind could think of was CM Punks’ words in the locker room earlier that day. “I always make women get there before I cum.” It was the way he said it with full confidence. Like he had no doubt in his mind about his capabilities to pleasure.
With his words on the brain, it was like your body refused to accept your small hands over your body. Before today, you didn’t even think about how little sexual activity you had engaged in recently. But then Punk had to put the want for it back in your mind by reminding you on just how pathetically lonely you were. You body was aching with need to go over the edge, but your mind was refusing to allow the release.
After 10 minutes of pointless fondling, you audibly groaned with frustration and dropped your hands from your body. It was as if the tension in your body tripled, and you knew sleep wasn’t going to come anytime soon with you wound as tight as you was. You needed relief. And not one that you could provide yourself.
“I can’t believe I’m fucking doing this.” You muttered to yourself in disgust as you hopped out of bed and over to your suitcase you hadn’t bothered to unpack. You fished out a pair of jean shorts and a tank top, skipping out entirely on a bra but pulled on a black thong. You tried dressing as fast as humanly possible, before you had the chance to talk yourself out of your crazy solution, and set off to his room with purpose. He was a few rooms down the hall from you, something you only knew as you checked in at the same time two days prior.
With a deep breath and a lot of mental cursing, you hit your knuckles against the door. The silence of the hall ate away at you, and had you ready to run away before he could see you there. But he was opening the door and peering down at you in befuddlement before your legs could move. “Y/N? Isn’t it a little late for our bickering?” He questioned, leaning on the doorframe. You stared up at him, mentally debating if you actually were going to go through with this. But the feeling of your painfully hard nipples rubbing against your shirt was motivation enough.
“Can I come in? I wanna talk to you about something.” You asked, shuffling on your feet awkwardly. This felt so weird. You never were like this with men. You were a confident woman, but this was fucking Punk of all people. Why couldn’t it have been someone you actually got along with? You were sure a different man on the roster must know their way around a lady too.
“You want to come in my room?” He questioned, brows furrowed and eyes analysing. He did a quick sweep of your appearance, and noticed your reddened cheeks and pronounced nipples. If you were any other woman, he would be certain you were wanting a one night stand. But this was you, so clearly your appearance had to just be a coincidence.
“You know what, don’t worry.” You groaned with annoyance, regretting knocking in the first place and turned towards your room. Punk reached out and grasped your forearm, stopping your movements and held the door open more.
“Stop being dramatic and just get in.” He rolled his eyes and let go of you in favour of entering his room. You caught the door before it slammed and resumed your mental berating of yourself and now him too but still followed after him.
Once the hotel door closed behind you, and he was staring down at you quizzically, your mouth ran completely dry. How the fuck was you going to go about this? In the only way you knew how, of course, and that was through arguing.
“You’re a real asshole, you know that?” He raised both his brows and crossed his arms whilst staring down at you.
“Again? What have I done this time?” You ran a hand through your slightly damp hair before moving towards him and poking his chest.
“You ruined my only chance at relaxing tonight. You and your stupid cockiness. Honestly, I’ve never met such a self obsessed, arrogant bastard in my entire life!” You huffed, your entire body tingling with unreleased tension. His confusion remained visible, and seemed to be trying to figure out just what he did exactly to anger you so much. “Oh my god, and an idiot too clearly! You just had to go running your mouth about your ability to make a woman cum and now my stupid body will not just do it!” You pretty much shouted at him despite being close enough to whisper.
It took him a couple seconds to process exactly what you were saying, but once he did his signature smirk fell on his face as well as a low chuckle. “You came here to yell at me because you can’t get yourself off?” His tone had shifted now. To something inbetween taunting and suggestive. His question sent blood to your cheeks as you stuttered over your words.
“I just— I— well—“ He openly chuckled at your stammering, and bent a little so you were now eye level.
His olive eyes scanned your face quickly, from your pouted lips to creased brows and flushed cheeks. “Or did you come here for something else?” He murmured sinfully, his hot breath hitting your face like a caress. Your own breath caught in your throat at the proximity and his low tone. You couldn’t believe just how much his words igniting something deep in your core, and tucked your bottom lip under your teeth.
“I don’t know why I came here.” You responded surprising softly, your eyes falling from his face and to your feet as you shuffled on the spot.
His fingers gripped your chin as he directed your stare back to his, a devilish look on his face. “I think we both know why you came here, Y/N. And if you ask me nicely, maybe I’ll be able to help.” He cocked his head to the side as he stared down at you, smiling wolfishly. Your entire body shivered, which only widened his grin. You clenched your thighs with a groan.
“Please Punk? I can’t sleep like this.” You gave in, the fluttering of your vagina becoming too intense to ignore. He straightened up with a cocky look, and nodded towards a closed door.
“I would have liked more begging, but I’m not evil. Come lay down.” He lead the way to his bedroom, and didn’t wait for you to follow. Despite your deadpan stare you gave him, he knew you were going to follow after him and climb to the centre of his bed. He laughed a little and shook his head. “No, lay by the edge.” He instructed as he kneeled down on the carpet beside the bed. You stared back at him with confusion for a moment, just long enough for him to get impatient and pull you where he wanted to by your ankle. You squealed as he positioned you in level with his face.
“You sure you wanna do this?” He checked whilst gripping the plush flesh of your thighs. Just the sensation of him holding you so tightly sent a jolt to your centre, and you had no doubts in your mind.
“I’m sure.” Your admission was all he needed to begin peeling your shorts and underwear off your body in one, leaving you completely bare from the waist down. Anxiety tried creeping in as you felt his breath on your vagina, having never been this close to someone’s face with your pussy before.
He began by pressing a light, testing kiss to your inner thigh, just a couple inches from your centre. The sensation pulled a hum of pleasure from you before you could swallow it, and you could feel the smirk of his lips against the next kiss he placed just slightly higher up. After a couple teasing kisses to your thighs, a beat of nothing passed before he licked a long, slow stripe from your hole to your clit. The unexpected pleasure forced a loud moan from you, and you covered your mouth right away from embarrassment.
“Move your hand.” He instructed with an authoritative tone. “When have you ever tried keeping your mouth shut? And now you do? When you’re making noises I actually wanna hear.” He tutted teasingly. You went to sass him back as you always did, but the words disappeared from your mind as his tongue circled your clit. It was unlike anything you had ever felt before as he leisurely explored your pussy with his tongue. There was no rushing in his movements, but a precision that had your toes curling. The coolness of his tongue piercing sent a shock through you every time it connected with you, and any frustration you had when entering his room was slowly but surely dissolving.
As he gently sucked on your clit, you whined and instinctively grasped onto his long hair, tugging as you did. Realising your actions, your hands jumped back to your sides. “Shit— I didn’t mean to—“ You tried apologising but he repeated the sucking motion whilst staring directly up at you. “Oh fuck—Punk that feels—“ you struggled to form coherent words as he worked what had to be some form of magic on you. He dragged noises out from you that you never knew you could make, and had your entire body shaking in minutes.
But your breaking point was when he slid a finger inside you and curled it. You had never felt anything like it. You didn’t know that cumming could feel this amazing, and you hadn’t even fully got there yet. “Feels good, huh?” He grinned at you momentarily before diving back in and adding another finger.
You nodded rapidly, your thighs trembling around his head as your moans came out higher and breathier. “So fucking good— please don’t stop— please Punk.” You were begging for him to take you there, but also never wanted this feeling to ever end. A coil tightened in your core as his fingers and tongue repeatedly hit the perfect spots. It wound so unbearably tight that you couldn’t help the pleas leaving your lips as well as the way your eyes watered from the sheer intensity.
The coil snapped so suddenly, that the noise that came out of you had to be loud enough for any surrounding rooms to hear. He continued lapping at you through your orgasm, not stopping until you were pushing his head away from the sheer sensitivity. He leant back, and wiped his mouth and chin with his hand and grinned smugly at you. You laid on his bed, trembling for a minute and trying to catch your breath after the most intense orgasm you had ever experienced.
“Still an arrogant bastard?” He taunted with wiggling eyebrows. You propped yourself up to look down at him, a lazy grin on your face.
“The biggest I know.” You smirked, and actually laughed as he rolled his eyes. You took a moment to assess yourself, and noticed all of your muscles had actually relaxed for the first time in months. You weren’t stressing over work, or your ongoing fights with Michelle McCool. Hell, you weren’t even thinking about how punchable Punk was as he stood up and looked down at you. “I’ll give you it though, I haven’t actually felt this relaxed in a long time.” You confessed, flopping back onto his bed with a content sigh. You’d regret that though, of course, because if anyone out there needed their ego inflating, it definitely wasn’t CM Punk.
“It was nice to hear something other than threats or insults coming out your mouth.” You rolled your eyes at him, feeling less delirious not you had calmed down and climbed out of his bed. “Until next time?” He questioned with a smile, your thong dangling from his fingertip. You snatched it back and pulled that one along with your shorts, a scoff leaving your mouth.
“This was a one time deal, Punk. A moment of weakness from myself, I must say.” You buttoned your shorts and rolled your shoulders, enjoying the lack of rigidity in your muscles and hummed contently.
“Oh of course.” He nodded sarcastically, a shit eating grin on his mouth that still shined with your wetness. “Good luck with that, sweetheart.” He winked before gesturing to his door. You arched a brow at him confusingly.
“So you’re not gonna bitch about me not returning the favour?” You asked in disbelief, slowly backing towards the door whilst he leant against his bedroom doorframe, watching with amusement.
“I’m sure there will be more opportunities.” He said simply, a knowing look in his eyes that you despised.
“In your dreams maybe.” You pulled open his door, quickly checking no one was in the hall before turning back to him. “And thank you.” You blushed a little as you awkwardly thanked him, and left before you had to experience his penetrating stare and smug smirk any longer.

2 songs per album 😊
which was a follow up to:
ok now I have my marching orders 😂
This is suuuuuuuuuuuch an interesting question!!! I'm not sure I'm going to do it justice but let's try:
under a cut because it got to be toooooooo long
Debut:
Tim McGraw and Picture to Burn
The former because it's a hallmark of Taylor's writing right from the jump: taking ordinary moments and imbuing a lifetime of importance to them; introducing what might become her most trademark writing theme, memory and wanting to be remembered, and how by their very nature they're ephemeral and only exist in a moment in time; sweetness and intimacy mixed with between-the-lines budding sensuality and coming of age; the self-doubt mixed with self-respect; overall just an excellent example of her storytelling as well as her musicality.
(Also: love that it flips the script on what you'd expect "Tim McGraw" to be about. It's not about the country star or idolizing him, but rather taking this very ordinary bit of her and her lover's lives and knowing that it's a memory forever linked between the two of them and their time together.)
The latter because it's an excellent example of yeehaw female rage banger that is also one of Taylor's calling cards. SO STRIKE A MATCH ON ALL MY WASTED TIME AS FAR AS I'M CONCEEEERNED YER JUST ANOTHER PICTURE TO BEEEEEEEERN!!!!
Basically, these two are the duality of woman lol.
(I swear I'm not writing this much for each album lol.)
Fearless:
Love Story and Fifteen
This was harder because there are so many hits from Fearless, but ultimately I had to go with Love Story because it was her signature song for so long, and perfectly encapsulates why she became a superstar with this album. It's got a catchy hook, a familiar story ripped out of high school curriculum except it gets the happy ending, and again lays out themes that end up turning up over and over again: being misunderstood, falling for someone her loved ones don't approve of, her lover making a grand gesture, and everyone coming around when she gets the ring on her finger! (Stop me if you've heard this one recently.)
Plus: even though we haven't spoken in nearly a decade, this song will always remind me of driving down a specific street with one of my best friends in university.
I picked Fifteen because it is also another bit of what would become classic Taylor lyricism: reflecting on the loss of youth, curiously while right in the thick of it herself. "When all you wanted is to be wanted" ends up coming up over and over again in just about every facet of her life and her writing throughout her career. Which comes up even more strongly in...
Speak Now:
Dear John and Never Grow Up
Again, this was really hard because you could go so many directions: The big hits like the love story of Mine or the clapback of Mean or the ballad of Back to December or Last Kiss or the triumphant Long Live... But ultimately I picked Dear John and Never Grow Up because they're two sides of the same coin, and I think they're the underpinning of much of the rest of the music and emotional landscape of the album. Because this is the first glimpse we have of her writing about ~trauma~. And also, I think, the first real exploration of her public persona vs. her private struggles.
Dear John is a remarkably astute and self-aware song written by someone just exiting their teen years clocking what in retrospect with added context was a harrowing and life-changing experience, and it's wrapped up in all the other stuff we know she was dealing with that informed other songs too. The yearning to be taken seriously while still having a foot in the door of childhood, wanting to experience adult milestones but unsure of how, being pilloried in the media essentially just for existing, continually being pursued by and scapegoated by men for their own gain (both personally and professionally), etc. Dear John as a song and I think as an experience is one of the clearest before/after moments of her discography and her life. And it features another Taylor staple: reading a man for absolute filth with deadly accuracy.
By the same token, to me Never Grow Up is the companion piece to this. I've always read it as a deeply sad song about mourning childhood and innocence, and the final twist of "wish I'd never grown up" is a gut punch, knowing everything she'd actually been through in writing the album. (Which is why it's a direct pipeline to "give me back my girlhood, it was mine first" a decade later.) Dear John is the event, and Never Grow Up is the aftermath. And yet, there's still so much hope within the song, because she desperately wants to protect the child in the song from growing up too soon, and wants them to cling on to every bit of their childhood as long as they possibly can. There's so much tenderness and self-reflection through the medium of the child she's singing about, and again: that is remarkably astute for such a young writer, so close to the childhood she's writing about.
Red
All Too Well and We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together
As usual, this was really hard.
Well, sorta: All Too Well is the gimme. Like, not only is that a perfect representation of Red, it's one of, if not THE keystone song in her discography. It tells the whole story of what inspired the album and I think "I remember it all too well" just sums up her entire being. You've got excellent writing about small moments that later become infused with grand meaning, you've got two banger bridges, you've got a catchy hook that can't get out of your head, you've got electric guitars and drums that make the song go hard... It's quintessential Taylor. I can't say anything more about it that hasn't already been said.
I had a hard time picking the second song because there are others that I by far prefer, I think We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together is a good pick because again: it's catchy, it contains an earworm for better or for worse, and she reads another man the riot act... but most importantly, it's a clear shift into unmistakable pop, which brings us to...
1989
Blank Space and Clean
1989 was my favourite Taylor album until folklore came out, and I am still a 1989 stan through and through, so I will never miss my chance to jump on a soapbox to defend it. And I picked these two songs because not only are they a great representation of the soundscape, but they're also two of the thematic pillars of the album.
I almost picked Style, because I think it's pop perfection, but Blank Space edged it out here because it showcases another part of Taylor's writing she doesn't get enough credit for: her cleverness and sense of humour, but the ways in which she uses them are also incredibly vulnerable and revealing. The surface layer of the song is biting satire on the maneater image imposed on her by the media, but underneath it is commentary on the ways women are set up by men to be these figures, both in public and behind closed doors. And as we later learn on the re-record, through her prologue and in vault tracks like Slut!, that experience was incredibly hurtful and damaging. But she took that pain and turned it into art, and it again launched her into the stratosphere. And she does it all with a beat you can't get out of your head.
Clean is kind of the flip side to it in the sense that it washes away (lol) the bravado and the narrative devices and shows what really drives it, which how another person can break you and mark you so deeply that you lose your entire sense of self in the process, and the absolute grit it takes to crawl yourself out of the depression it left in its wake. (Which ends up being yet another major cornerstone of her writing: mental health and the ways in which life can level you.)
Essentially, to me this pairing is the flashiness of what the public sees (Blank Space) vs. the snowballing struggles behind closed doors (Clean), and the tension between the two not only drives much of the narrative of the album, but what would happen following it.
(1989 is not shallow nor sterile, it is vulnerable and insightful and clever but just does so in an economy of words and I will die on that hill, thank you for coming to my TED Talk)
Reputation
Look What You Made Me Do and Call It What You Want
Again this is tricky because while neither of these are necessarily my favourite songs on the album, I do think they're better representatives of the sound and the themes of Reputation better than my faves.
LWYMMD highlights the tonal and sonic shift of the album, the harder, harsher, angrier beats leaving 1989's curated sound behind. This will probably put me in Swiftie jail, but I really disliked this song when it came out-- rather, I really dug the verses, but I haaaaaaaaated the chorus. (I found it so annoying lol. Also remember hearing it about a million times on a road trip through the Maritimes with friends that fall.) Time has definitely changed my perspective on it, especially after the Rep tour and Eras tour performances of it, and I also know that jarring change was purposeful. All that to say, I picked it because I think it was meant to be divisive and shocking (coming from Taylor) and kind of marked her shedding of her public "good girl" image. Where the satire in Blank Space is clever and cheeky, the satire (if you can even call it that) in LWYMMD is all bite. She's mad as hell and she isn't going to take it anymore; nobody is in on the joke like in Blank Space, instead she's out for blood. And it sets up the duality of the album, which is yet another instance of a major recurring theme in her work: the public perception of her and her downfall, vs the private story of recovery and young love growing out of it.
There were a couple of contenders for the second song, but I picked Call It What You Want because to me, it calls back to that very tumultuous period. Where LWYMMD is full of bombast and the ways in which she was wronged and her anger over it (valid), CIWYW (I hate acronyms have I mentioned that) is a tender reflection on it. Her world was crumbling and she was ostracized, but she found a port in the storm and somehow weathered it, coming out of it if not stronger, then at least surviving and with renewed perspective.
And like she's spoken about Rep, the album is a bit of a bait and switch in that it was marketed as a bit of a Burn Book scathing attack on what happened to her in 2016, but it was mainly about a love story that grew out of that pain, and CIWYW is that story. She brought a knife to a gunfight, they took her crown, she disappeared, she came back pricklier and closed off, but behind closed doors, she found someone who loved her and understood her, and that was enough to get her through and rebuild her life.
But it also shows remarkable vulnerability: "And I know I make the same mistakes every time / Bridges burn, I never learn / At least I did one thing right, I did one thing right," is one of those lyrics that has always stuck with me, because even amidst the self-respect throughout the rest of the song (e.g. they fucked me over but I don't even care anymore because I found something real), there's this very raw moment of self-loathing in "I never learn," like, I keep screwing things up, but at least I didn't screw this one thing up. And this will also be essential for a couple of future albums, if you catch my drift.
(Is anyone surprised I didn't pick my beloved baby New Year's Day?)
Lover
Cruel Summer and Lover
Again, this is hard! I see so many pairings, whether musically, thematically, storytelling-wise, or new elements as yet discussed! So in the end, I split the difference.
I picked Cruel Summer because I think it represents some of the sonic shifts in Lover, and I think it is just one of those pop bangers that really showed what she could do and what the album was, in part. It's got an epic bridge you want to scream-sing! It's got a messy situationship that has led to catching feelings and that is THE WORST! It's got a narrative twist at the end! And like with so many other songs on the album, the pulsing beat kind of makes you feel the very anxiety she's writing about throughout the song. I'm so glad Cruel Summer had its moment in the sun thanks to Eras because it deserved to be the biggest single off Lover imo lol.
Lover was my second choice because I think it represents the other part of the main story of the album. Unsurprisingly with an album and title track of this name, the main story throughout the album is about a couple building a life together, from messy casual hookup to walking down the aisle. Lover the song kind of distills that all into a wedding march: it goes from a couple moving into their first home together, to building a life with their own friends and family, to the quiet intimacy of inside jokes and shared dinners, leading to the imagery of the final vows. But it's also self-reflective, with moments of anxiety and reflection but also deep longing for this future together. It's classic Taylor storytelling. Also, I love the bass in it.
folklore
august and seven
aaaaaaaaah folklore my beloved, this is impossible.
I know my choices might seem weird, but hear me out.
I could make a case for almost every song on this album. Because if we're thinking in things of pairs/dualities in this exercise, I think you've got two big stories/themes in folklore: the exploration of feelings through fictional stories as a departure from her usual*, and her quietly personal confessional songs.
*Taylor has always been inspired by and/or written about fictional scenarios, I just mean crafting a whole album around them.
I almost picked the last great american dynasty and peace for this very reason, but made a last minute pivot to these two. I picked august because it hits some of folklore's major points: it's got a fictional story infused with Taylor's own lived experiences, it's got a deeply evocative story of its own contained within the song, it's also tied into the teenage love triangle throughout the rest of the album, it has some iconic lines that are now deeply intertwined with pop culture (what month is it, tumblr), and it kind of covers the melodic landscape of folklore as a whole.
Like I said, I almost picked peace as one of the songs, because I think "our coming of age has come and gone" is one of her all-time confessional lines and will prove to be important for what's to come, along with believing it is one of her most tender expressions of love, BUT we must be ruthless in this game. So I picked seven because if august is a song about love gained and lost, seven fits right into one of Taylor's songwriting pillars of lost innocence. I think it's such a wonderful example of Taylor writing from a fictionalized version of her seven year old self, with the whimsy and innocence of a child who doesn't know what the world yet holds, but the shades of those experiences creeping in. (e.g. "I think your house is haunted, your dad's always mad and that must be why" -- what a punch in the gut to infer an abusive household through the eyes of a child who doesn't understand why their parent is upset. Um, this may be far too #relatable but I digress anyway let me stop before i drudge up my childhood trauma lmao.) It's also hauntingly beautiful.
evermore
'tis the damn season and evermore
EVERMORE MY BELOVED!!!!!!!!
Let me say it again: this was really hard.
Like with folklore, there's a juxtaposition between the fictionally-crafted stories and the obviously personal ones, and several songs could stand in for either category.
I picked TTDS, but honestly, I could have also gone with champagne problems, tolerate it, coney island, etc. Maybe I should have! But I picked TTDS because it's accessible and stands on its own, and I love the sound of it with the electric guitars. It SOUNDS like that liminal period between the holidays, where you can pretend to be another person because nothing counts, where you question all the choices you've ever made in your life and pretend you can be someone else. You can pretend that this will work, you can pretend that the rest of the world and who you really are don't matter, that you aren't inherently fucked up. And tbh that's present in so many of the songs on evermore anyway. IDK I'm losing steam on all this writing so I'm just grasping at straws right now. Ask me again and I'd probably choose another song instead.
evermore I picked because a) it is my beloved forever and ever and b) I think it encapsulates a lot of the feelings she was dealing with from rep through evermore, and would right through TTPD. Even though it's draped in metaphor, imo it's one of the more explicit explorations of the depths of her depression (including suicidal ideation) and the toll 2016 took on her. It feels like it cracked open the door that would eventually be blown wide open on TTPD. And I think it's one of the most vulnerable songs she'd written up to that point and one of the first that was really open about her mental health struggles, even if it's it's cloaked in the shipwreck imagery.
Midnights
Anti-Hero and You're On Your Own Kid
I thought this was going to be way harder because there are SO many rich themes on Midnights (and tbh there are other songs that I think are better representatives of them), but these two I think encapsulate the album the most accessibly, and were the first ones to come to mind when I had to make a snap judgment.
Anti-Hero is here both because it was SUCH a huge hit and such a good example of the sound that found its way throughout the album, AND because it's a great sequel to evermore in how it delves into her mental health challenges. Where evermore asks the listener to go on a journey and like, read between the lines, Anti-Hero is upfront with its self-loathing, depression, anxiety, fears, etc. It's very much Taylor as a person in song-form, and THAT is what weaves its way through the sleepless nights of Midnights. It's a certified bop but it's also an existential crisis! And that is where Taylor excels lol. Once you hear it you will never get "It's me, hi! I'm the problem, it's me" out of your head, nor will you ever forget "I wake up screaming from dreaming one day I'll watch as you're leaving, and life will lose all its meaning for the last time." Hence the spiral throughout the rest of the album lol.
YOYOK I think is pretty self-explanatory. It's another revisiting of childhood that dovetails into the struggles of adulthood. It's wistful and bittersweet and triumphant. It instigated the friendship bracelet craze at Eras! It's a celebration of every step of her life that led to this exhilarating moment in her career! It's the recognition that she made all of this happen, no matter how much heartbreak she faced along the way. "From sprinkler splashes to fireplace ashes" is one of my favourite lyrics ever. And we all know where we were when we heard "I hosted parties and starved my body like I'd be saved by the perfect kiss." It's brutal, yet it's a reclamation of everything that got her here.
The Tortured Poets Department
This is actually impossible, both because there are 31 songs, and because how do I pick?!?!
Fresh Out The Slammer and loml
I picked FOTS because the song kind of covers the two main experiences that drive the top story of the album: the disintegration of a long-term relationship and the intense and overwhelming rush of the following affair she runs to to escape it when it ends. It hits so many of the main points of the album: feeling discarded and unloved, being emotionally depleted by a partner who takes out his own struggles on her and her resulting cratering mental health, the insinuation of feeling imprisoned by the life she was leading, the between-the-lines implication of how the eventually-revealed conman wins her affections, the flood of the mania in running to him as soon as she leaves her partner, the projection of her hopes onto this person as the fantasy builds in her head, etc.
In a similar vein, I picked loml, because it's what happens after the crash of the mania in FOTS and the processing of the disintegration of the relationship before it. I could have picked other songs and again, I probably would if asked again, but I see these two as tied together as the beginning and end of two stories. Plus, I fundamentally believe "you shit-talked me under the table, talking rings and talking cradles" is absolutely essential for understanding TTPD and understanding what she's writing about and why. It's the loss of and exploitation of those two very specific and devastating things that drive all the action of the album imo.
Plus, the two songs kind of cover both ends of the spectrum of the soundscape of TTPD, from the twangy, at times kinda wild west sound of FOTS to the sad piano ballad of loml.

࿐ ࿔*:・゚early spring, march 13th
the green canopy of the trees held back most of the sunlight and the last drops of warmth you’d soak up before fully submerging yourselves in the forest.
your little one, a three year old girl named stevie, was happily running along the track, her youthful laughter echoing through the silent forest. it just became warm enough to finally go on walks again and visit her favourite place.
though, the girl had many favourite places. if you’d ask stevie, she’d name at least four before finally deciding on the playground.
“mum, look!” stevie beamed, her tiny finger pointing towards the end of her path and the playground that came into view the farther she ran.
you smiled at her, not needing to walk too fast to keep up with her pace. “i see, sweetheart. you wanna swing?”
“nuh uh,” the girl shook her head, stopping in her steps to look up at you. “sandbox.”
“ah, how could i forget,” you nodded in approval and your little girl took off running again. “don’t eat the sand, angel.” you warn as soon as you two make it to the sand pit. there’s already some toys there but pull out the pink sand toy set from your bag and hand it to stevie.
as the little girl plays, you watch and wonder how you got so lucky with stevie, as she was already so independent for her age. she was smart, resilient, empathetic and everything you wouldn’t expect a three year old to be.
you wanted her to remember her childhood as best as possible, so you made a scrapbook— called it ‘stevie’s adventures’— and marked down bits and pieces of her life. so far, you’ve added the hospital bracelet you wore during labour and some of her infant stuff, like socks, a few onesies and even a few binkies.
you decide to snap a picture of her in the sandbox, now playing with a blond, curly-haired boy who couldn’t have been much older than her. taking a picture of a stranger's child would go against everything you’ve been doing to protect stevie’s personal life from online creeps, so you look around to try and find whoever’s responsible for the kid.
the only other adult person on this playground is standing a few steps away from your bench, navy sweatered arms crossed across his chest, white cap adorning his curly haired head. he looks intimidating and cold, like he’d shatter you with just a glance.
eventually, you muster up the courage to speak to him. “uhm, excuse me?”
the man turns to you like he was expecting you to speak to him, moustached lips turning into a welcoming smile. “what’s up?”
“is that your child in the sandbox?” you point to the boy, although you could already tell they were related— the subtle curls sticking out from under his cap matched the boys’ ones perfectly. the man nods, a little confused. “okay so this is really random, but i like to take pictures of moments in my daughter’s life and i was wondering if you’re okay with your son being in it?”
the stranger seems to let out a sigh of relief, a little less anxious about your line of questioning. “yeah, that’s fine.”
you give him a slight nod accompanied by a small smile. he watches as you pull out your camera, bring it up to your eye and get your perfect shot before putting it back into your bag. when your eyes flicker back towards him, he hesitantly extends a hand. “i’m lando.”
you blink at him twice before getting up and shaking his hand. “nice to meet you, lando. i’m y/n.”
he lingers for a moment, just watching you when you turn your attention back to the kids in the sandbox. the little boy is sharing his dinosaur bucket with stevie and she’s shovelling sand into it, babbling on about something you can’t hear.
࿐ ࿔*:・゚march 27th
“stevie!”
your head whips towards the source of the sound, coming from a young boy. it takes you a few seconds before you notice his dad and both of you smile at each other.
stevie runs up to the boy and gives him a tight squeeze. “theo!”
over the past two weeks, you had come to the park a few times and met lando, and his son theo, there each time. not on purpose, it’s just that your park schedules just seemed to match up.
stevie became very fond of theo over such a short time and it warms your heart to see her beaming face as they play tag around the swing set.
“is your kid a picky eater?” lando suddenly asks, trying to break the unnecessarily awkward silence. “theo doesn’t eat carrots, all of a sudden. used to be his favourite snack until literally this morning.”
you try to hide your laughter when lando pinches the bridge of his nose, jokingly frustrated with his son. “stevie doesn’t eat the crust on bread or broccoli stems.”
“theo would agree with her about the importance of crustless bread in their diet,” lando hums, nodding at your answer. “sometimes i wonder if he’s even my kid, ‘cause his taste in food is so different.”
“he’s the spitting image of you, lando, i figured he was yours before we even spoke.” you roll your eyes, playfully. “and i don’t think taste in anything is genetic. at least i hope not. god forbid stevie goes through the awkward teenage phase of wearing strictly skinny jeans and band tees.”
lando chuckles. “yeah, i couldn’t see teenage theo rocking straight and damaged hair.”
“did you straighten it?” you tilt your head to the side, curious as to why anyone would want to get rid of their curls.
“used to,” he nods. “met theo’s mum and she taught me the proper techniques and products to use to get my hair healthy and curly again.”
ah, theo’s mum. you had wondered if lando had a partner. not for any particular reason, it was just because you only ever saw him at the park with theo and never the boys mum.
“mum!” stevie runs up to you, out of breath. “thirsty.”
your daughter wasn’t a fan of using many words in her sentences and, at first, you had begun to worry about it, but after many doctors visits, they confirmed that it was just a quirk she had adopted.
you open your bag and take out her water bottle. stevie basically rips it out of your hands, urgent to get as many gulps down as she can before she continues to play tag with theo.
the boy was stood by his dad, hugging him around the waist as lando pushed theo’s curls out of his face. “you tired yet?” he asks, already knowing the answer.
“nuh uh,” theo shakes his head, instantly. “i like playing with stevie.”
“i know you do, bud, but we have to make dinner. you said you’d help me make that cheesy pasta you like.” lando raises his brows a few times, trying to pique his son's interest.
theo sighs. “i know. could stevie come over someday, then?”
lando’s eyes flicker up to yours, “could she? i host the best tea parties in town.”
you turn your head back to stevie when an excited gasp leaves her lips. “tea party?” she practically squeals as she repeats what lando said. “mum, can we go? please, please, please!”
the expectant look on stevie, theo, and even lando’s, faces makes you laugh. “i don’t see why not.”
࿐ ࿔*:・゚april 4th
“and would the princess like some biscuits with her tea?” lando asked, clad in grey sweatpants, white shirt… and a superman cape. apparently this tea party turned into a costume party, and you didn’t get the memo.
your daughter giggled before tipping her head and lifting up the sides of her cinderella dress. “yes, please.”
theo sat between them, happily smiling at the exchange between lando and stevie. “i want some too, dad!”
“biscuits for batman and cinderella coming right up!” he smiles at them before looking at you and nodding his head as an urge for you to get up. you follow him into the kitchen.
“had no idea you were superman, i feel like i should bow down to my hero or something,” you smile over the rim of your cup.
“nah, it’s a sidegig.” lando shrugs, nonchalantly, as he pulls out a few different types of biscuits from a cupboard. “is stevie allergic to anything?”
“nope,” you shake your head. “but she likes to say she’s allergic to cucumber peel.”
“ah, the famous excuse for not eating food they don’t like. been there. theo was trying to convince me that he was allergic to tomatoes until i told him what ketchup was made from.” lando laughed.
you smile at how fondly he speaks of theo. “where’s theo’s mum?” you suddenly blurt, eyes wide as you cover your mouth. “sorry, that’s such a personal question, i didn’t mean to.”
“well, you were clearly curious about it.” lando looks at you. “and that’s okay. but i’d rather talk about something else.”
“yes, sorry.” you nod. “what do you do for work?”
“i work at a karting place. i own it, actually.” lando spreads the biscuits out nicely onto a platter, adding a few cut up fruits from the fridge to make somewhat of a charcuterie board.
“oh, so that’s why you can afford karting for theo,” you hum, before taking a sip of your coffee, remembering one of the first conversations you had about your children’s hobbies. stevie likes to draw and play pretend, meanwhile theo finds joy in racing.
“that and his godfather being an F1 driver,” lando smiles fondly, eyes darting up to yours for a brief second before he goes back to assembling the snack board. “i used to race, too, before theo.”
“do you miss it?” you watch him closely, noticing the slight wince in his face.
eventually, he shrugs. “sometimes. other times, i realise how little energy fatherhood takes out of me compared to sitting in a small, hot space for hours at a time.”
“mm,” you hum again, nodding. you can’t really imagine anything harder than motherhood. “but that’s cars versus raising and nourishing a whole other human and personality.”
“yeah, true.” he agrees. “i guess i just got lucky with theo.”
“or he got lucky with you.” you and lando share a glance that lasts a little too long and seems a little too fond for just acquainted parents. you clear your throat and look away, instead choosing to watch whatever’s left in your mostly empty cup.
࿐ ࿔*:・ may 23rd
after a few more weeks of playdates at each other’s houses, theo saw it fit to include stevie in one of his favourite things in the world— karting.
the young boy pestered his father endlessly, using his puppy eyes technique to get what he wanted. “please?” he asked, dragging out the last syllable of the word to be a little more annoying and convincing.
“i’m sorry, bud. i don’t think she’ll like karting.” lando watched his sons face turn from hopeful to frustrated. the little boy crossed his arms over his chest, turning himself away from lando and facing the nearest wall to their couch.
“i won’t go if she’s not there.”
the simple yet strongly made statement forced lando to hold back a snort. “fine, i’ll call and see if she’d like to come. but i’m not promising anything.”
when friday afternoon rolled around, lando was delighted— and relieved— to see you and stevie making your way over to where he and theo were waiting.
“dad, it’s stevie!” theo’s face lit up as stevie ran over to them. “hi!”
“hi, theo!” stevie smiled and hugged him. she waved at lando. “hey, dude!”
“stevie, what did i tell you about calling people dude?” you say and playfully roll your eyes before looking at lando. “she randomly picked it up from who knows where and now everyone is dude.”
lando chuckles. “that’s funny, dude.” he looks down at stevie with an excited grin. “you ready to race?”
“heck yeah, dude.” stevie giggles and balls her hand into a fist, bumping it with lando’s. her hazel eyes look intensely at his open palm when he offers her a hand, confused as for whether or not he’s safe to walk with.
stevie’s seen and spent time with lando multiple times now, but everytime she did, you were there. in this moment, she was stood alone next to theo and lando, and even though you were only a few steps behind her, she felt like she was all by herself.
she turns her blonde head of hair towards you, eyes glancing up to look at yours. she was looking for any sign of disapproval or worry, but instead she saw you nodding your head encouragingly. “you need to get your helmet on, baby. lando will help you and then you can meet me back here, okay?”
stevie bites her lip with a glint of worry in her eye, but swiftly turns around and places her tiny palm in lando’s. lando gives you a small smile and the three of them make their way into the building.
stevie’s worries seem to lessen the more lando jokes around with her. first, he puts his balaclava on backwards, making both the kids laugh at how goofy he looked while flailing his arms around in the air. secondly, he tries to put on a helmet too small, which again results in a fit of giggles from theo and stevie. eventually, when he finds the perfect size helmet for stevie, he gets theo’s one— obviously designed with his favourite animated characters and colours— and leads the kids outside.
you watch as stevie runs to you, looking like a bobble-head because of how huge the helmet seemed. “woah, look at you.” you gasp as you squat down to be her height. “you scared?”
“nuh uh,” stevie shakes her head. “lando said i’m a rockstar and i’ll do great.”
your heart swells a bit. just as you’re about to speak, theo runs up to you both. “sorry, but my dad asked to bring stevie over to get her ready. he said you can go make coffee inside, though!”
“thank you, theo,” you smile softly and get up, watching as the two kids run towards lando with their hands held.
while you navigate through the building and try to find a place where you can secretly watch stevie and theo racing, lando explains how everything works to stevie.
“okay, so,” he places a hand atop her left foot, “you’ll have to push this foot forward to move, and this one,” he places the same hand on her other foot, “to slow down and stop. okay?”
“just like a car?” stevie tilts her head to the side, her interest piqued despite her never even seeing how a kart drives.
lando smiles and nods. “just like a car. if you get scared, you can slow down and stop, and i’ll run over to help you. you can go as slow as you’d like but don’t go too fast, you could hurt yourself or get dizzy.”
“okay, dude,” stevie nods, trying her best to retain as much of the information as she could. her eyes follow lando as he walks over towards theo’s kart, the two talking about something that made theo laugh.
you watch from inside the building, worried eyes following lando’s every move. when he starts up stevie’s kart, you can briefly feel your heart stop beating. you’ve never been so scared for her, and even though lando assured you there’s no way she could hurt herself, you’re not sure if you could forgive yourself in the case of an accident.
lando finds you holding a hand over your chest as you watched the two kids drive around the track. “hey,” he said, calmly, trying his best not to startle you.
you gave him a weak smile. “hi. was she nervous?”
“a little, but that’s normal.” he walked up and stood next to you, before placing a reassuring hand on your shoulder. “i explained to her how it works. she’s a smart kid and a fast learner.”
“yeah,” you nodded. “what if something goes wrong?”
“it won’t.” his voice was calm as you leaned into his touch, his arm sneaking down your back and around your waist to pull you into a side-hug. “i asked theo to let her pass him a few times so she gets the full experience of karting. maybe you’ll have a little racer on your hands.”
your head subconsciously lays on his shoulder as your crossed arms stay firm against your chest. “yeah, don’t think i’d be able to afford it, but i guess her and theo would get to have more playdates.”
“i’d help you,” he hummed, his own head resting atop of yours. “i mean, the competitions would probably cost a bit but i’d provide her with a kart and helmet. max would also love to pitch in.”
“don’t be silly,” you laughed a little. “she already does ballet in the mornings.”
“who said she can’t be a ballerina and a racer at the same time? she’d be the coolest kid on the planet if so,” he softly smiles, eyes looking down at your focused face. “besides, i’d get to spend a little more time with her mum.”
“mhm,” you bit back a wider smile. “who says you can’t do that regardless?”
lando’s heart skips a beat when you turn your head to look at him, only then realising how close you two actually were— his nose brushed yours when you raised your head and his breath fanned your face. he felt his stomach drop and he froze before finally giving in.
just as you felt his lips inch closer to yours, an employee of his knocked on the doorframe to the room. “one of the kiddos stopped in the middle of the track and she’s asking for lando.”
the curly-haired man jolts away from you, as if he was caught doing something he shouldn’t have been and turns around to awkwardly say, “uh, okay, i’ll go and, uhm, check.”
you can’t help but shake your head with a small laugh as you watched the man leave the room at record speed.
meanwhile, lando was trying to keep his composure in front of the kids. he’s sure they’d blab to you if they noticed him smiling like an idiot. “everything okay, kiddo?” he kneeled in front of stevie’s kart.
stevie tries to pull the helmet off, but the buckle keeps it tightly situated on her small head. lando helps her unbuckle it and pulls the helmet off, watching as she takes off the bright pink balaclava— her choice— and sighs. “i’m hungry.”
lando snorts at how random her request seemed. “alright, let’s go get theo and ask your mum if she’d like to join us for dinner, yeah?”
࿐ ࿔*:・゚
“no, stevie, we don’t throw the food.”
the little girl halted her movements, her hand in the air as her eyes focused on yours. she had a fist full of vegetables, ones that she clearly wasn’t enjoying, and was getting ready to throw on the floor and an evil glint in her eye. instead of doing as she first intended, she opened her fingers and the vegetables fell all over the table, a few of them landing in lando’s lap.
“sorry, sometimes she just-” you were already making up excuses for your daughter’s childish behaviour when lando cut you off.
“it’s okay, she’s probably overstimulated from an eventful day. it happens.” he shrugs as he picks the peas off from his lap. “y’know, theo threw up on me once after karting, which is why he refuses to eat before he goes on track anymore.”
you stifle a laugh before sitting back up from collecting the vegetables that fell to the floor. stevie was in active conversation with theo and seemed to have forgotten about the vegetables. a few minutes pass before lando speaks again.
“thank you,” he notices the confusion in the tilt of your head. “for coming. it means a lot to theo and, well, to me.”
the sincerity in his voice made all the blood in your body rush to your cheeks, tinting them the gentlest shade of maroon that lando didn’t miss. “no worries, we’re happy to join you anytime.”
lando ignores the feelings brewing in his chest and continues eating. you follow his lead and all four of you were done eating in another half hour.
the waiter came to your table and before you could even ask to split the bill, lando was handing hera a few paper bills and she had scurried off to get his change.
“weren’t we going to split?” you ask, a little confused.
lando shrugged. “it’s on me, don’t worry about it.”
you had already felt bad that he didn’t accept your money for the karting that day, or the ice cream he had bought for stevie a week or so ago, but dinner? you felt the guilt bubble in your stomach growing. “lando, it’s not fair on yo-“
“can you just accept that you don’t have to do everything by yourself?” he reasons. “i asked you to come to karting, i paid for it, same with dinner and that extra hour at the park so the kiddos could get ice cream from the ice cream truck. i did it because i want to and i don’t expect anything in return.”
when you look up at him, your expression clearly less upset than before, he decides to crack a joke. “except for maybe a kiss or two.”
you roll your eyes and the waiter brings back his change just as you’re about to make a witty comeback.
lando, being the gentleman that he is, offered to drive you both home and you couldn’t deny it after seeing how sleepy stevie had gotten. she fell asleep on the ride home and after lando pulled into the driveway of your small home, you got out to unbuckle her and carry her inside.
theo waited patiently in the car, listening to a podcast about dinosaurs in his earbuds while lando walked you to your door.
he smiled down at the sleeping stevie in your arms, bringing a hand up to gently caress her cheek with his finger. “we must’ve wore her out.”
“she hadn’t had a nap today,” you looked down at your daughter. “pretty sure she’ll sleep through the night.”
lando’s gaze had shifted to your face subconsciously and he didn’t realise how close you were getting when you looked back up at him. you pulled him in with a soft hold of his jaw, your lips gently pressing against his.
lando’s hand came up to hold your cheek. the kiss lasted way longer than you intended, but you weren’t complaining. when you finally pulled away, breathless and pink, lando was speechless and in awe. “thank you for today.”
you closed the door behind yourself, watching through the window of your living room as his car pulled out of your driveway. stevie covered her mouth with her small hand as she giggled. “ooo, mama kissed cool dude.”
a small gasp left your lips as you looked down at stevie. “you saw that?” she nodded her small head. “oh, god.”
࿐ ࿔*:・ may 28th
you were making dinner in the kitchen when stevie yelled for you from the living room.
“what is it?” you walk down the hall while wiping your hands on a dishrag. stevie points at the window, lando’s car coming into view when you step closer. “oh, what’s he doing here?”
stevie watches from the window as you make your way outside to greet a disheveled lando and a smiley theo.
“hey, everything okay?” you ask when the man finally looks up at you. “i didn’t know you were coming over, i would’ve doubled up on dinner.”
“i’m not staying for long,” he says, hastily. you could tell he was stressed out and rushing somewhere. “could you watch theo for tonight?”
“what?” you blink.
“it’s max, he, uhm,” lando turns to theo and tells him to run inside to see what stevie was up to. when the young boy is out of earshot, lando continues. “max isn’t eating or sleeping. he’s had a bad race and the media’s giving him shit for it. i’m going to visit him and check up on him, and i’d usually bring theo but i don’t want him to see max like that.”
“oh, god.” you place a hand on lando’s shoulder and he just pulls you into a tight hug. “i can’t imagine how stressed you are. you go take care of max, okay? theo will be okay with us.”
“thank you so much,” lando pulls away and pecks your lips. “i’ll be back tomorrow evening.”
and before you can even register that he just kissed you, he’s in his car and halfway down the neighbourhood.
when you make your way inside, the kiddos are on the floor in the living room, theo’s backpack open with half of the content spilled out.
“would you like to have dinner with us, theo?” you ask the boy and he shakes his head, explaining that lando had given him his dinner before hastily packing his sleepover bag. but when you offered a snack of crackers and cheese, the boy happily agreed.
you turned on an animated film for the kids to watch as you did your washing up for the night before bed. a small smile creeped up on your face as you heard the two little humans giggling about something that only existed in their own world.
as the evening progressed and the kids grew more tired, you laid them both to bed. stevie had a second bed in her room as her cousin often comes visit during the summer, which ended up being perfect for a kid theo’s height.
routinely, you were obligated to switch on the starry night light and read a story. theo requested a bedtime story about dinosaurs, meanwhile stevie wanted one about princesses, and you somehow managed to make both work.
once you heard the familiar tiny snores escape stevie’s lips, and when theo had turned to his side, you left the room and kept a small crevice of the door ajar.
the next morning, you had already begun to prepare pancakes while dulcet sounds of jazz music filled your kitchen, when theo gently tugged on your apron.
“you okay?” you kneeled down to his height and theo rubbed his tired eyes awake before pulling you into a hug. “oh.”
“dad always gives me morning cuddles,” he explained, a certain sadness in his voice that broke your heart to hear.
you picked the boy up in your arms and gently caressed his back. “you miss him, huh?”
theo just nodded, nestling his head onto your shoulder as his arms laid draped over your biceps. “i knew you were as nice as dad said.”
you can’t help but softly smile at his comment. “thank you, theo. he talks about me?”
you knew it was wrong to ask a kid such a question, but the words had already escaped your mouth before you could catch them.
“sometimes,” he hums, a yawn threatening to make its presence. “i think he likes you a lot.”
“yeah? how so?” you poke his side as a tease.
theo straightens up a bit, to see your face. “he gets shy when he talks about you to maxie and pietra. and he gets all red like you are right now.”
you shake your head and tickle his face with the hair that flings around you both. “am not.”
“are too,” he giggles.
you place him down on the ground and give him an encouraging tap on the back. “how about you go wake stevie up for pancakes?”
“can you cut it into a pterodactyl?”
“can i cut it into a pterodactyl?” theo giggles when you scoff, displaying faux offence. “of course i can.”
the little boy runs back down the hallway and towards stevie’s room. your heart bursts a little when he calls out for your daughter.
“stevie! your mum’s making dinosaur pancakes!”
࿐ ࿔*:・ june 10th
you expected your first date with lando to be somewhere fancy enough for you to wear a dress you bought while still pregnant with stevie.
fortunately for both of you, lando offered a night in and you were far too big of a romcom lover to deny his request.
“thank god you agreed to this,” lando slumps his shoulders when you pry open your front door. you take a second to admire his simple attire— a light blue zip up hoodie with matching sweatpants.
you move to the side and open the door a little more to let him in. “thank god to max and pietra for agreeing to watch both the kids.”
“oh, yeah, they’ve been begging me to bring both you and stevie over since the first time you four met.” he sets the bags of stuff down on the dining table. “i think pietra adores you a little.”
“i hope she knows the feelings are mutual, she’s so cool.” you smile softly.
“hey, she said the same about you!” lando laughs and when you come close enough, he wraps an arm around your waist and pulls you into a hug from behind while unbagging.
“i bought way too much ice cream but i didn’t know what flavour you liked best so i chose five that i hoped you liked.” he explains as he takes out the third box. “oh, and wine.”
you lean back into his chest and turn your head just barely to place a kiss on his jawline. “thank you.”
lando’s heartbeat speeds up in a brief second and he hopes you can’t see the blush on his face. he quickly recollects himself and, without letting you go, brings both of you to your kitchen. of course, both of you being so close against one another means that you nearly trip and fall with every step you take.
eventually, through many giggles and bumps into furniture, you two find yourselves in the living room, spoons and ice cream in hand.
lando takes a seat on the sofa, arm draped over the back of it as an invitation for you to join him. once you pluck the remote off the coffee table and fetch a blanket for the two of you, lando feels you nestle against him.
“what’re we watching?” he asks, eyes focused on you instead of the screen.
you shrug. “horror movie?”
“no,” he sternly says. “i hate them. rom-com, please.”
you stifle a laugh and focus back on the television. after skimming through the films, the two of you choose notting hill and cozy up to watch it.
about half an hour in, you notice lando’s heartbeat quicken underneath your cheek, but you decide to brush it off as nothing. eventually, he speaks up.
“so, i’ve been thinking,” lando begins, his voice soft and cautious. his eyes search your face, looking for any sign that might stop him from saying what’s on his mind. but all he sees is the face he’s grown to love and that only urges him to continue.
you slightly sit up, a little worried by what he’s going to say. “about what?”
“us, our kids, you.” he reaches over to grab your hand in his. as his thumb gently caresses the back of your hand, his eyes rest on yours. “i love the way things are between us lately, and i like being around you and stevie, but i want to be more than just movie nights and playdates.”
your heart skips a beat. “you mean… like, officially? you want to be together?”
he nods with that same smile you’ve grown so fond of. “yeah, i mean, i know it’s a long-shot and it’s risky with our kids’ friendship and all, but theo already loves you and i’m sure stevie adores me,” he jokes and you playfully roll your eyes. “but it would make me the happiest man alive if you were my girlfriend.”
“wow,” you’re speechless. “i didn’t think i’d actually hear you say that.”
“i’ve been overthinking it for days,” he laughs, anxiety riddled all across his face as he watches your expression. he can’t exactly read it and that makes him even more nervous. “not to pressure you or anything-“
“yes,” you cut him off, a wide grin on your face as he pulls you into a hug. “i’ve never been so giddy about someone before.”
“yeah?” he flashes you that same, wide grin before pulling you in for a kiss.
“oh gosh, we have to tell the kids,” you gasp with a hand gently pushing lando’s kissy face away. he furrows his brows, confused as for why he can’t kiss his girlfriend.
“theo knows,” lando shrugs. “i told him that i’d be asking you to be my girlfriend and at first asked if he’d be okay with that.”
“and what’d he say?” you lay your head in lando’s lap as he plays with your hair, a small smile on his face.
“he asked if that means you’ll be able to stay around more, and then said that you make the best pancakes.”
“oh, did he tell you about the dinosaur pancakes?”
lando nods. “he asked me to make them the next morning and told me to take him to your house, because i didn’t get them right.”
a laugh escapes your lips. “you could’ve come over, you know? i would’ve been happy to serve theo some more dino pancakes, and maybe taught you how to make them.”
“yeah?” he leans down to place a kiss on your lips, hoping that this time you don’t push him away. and it’s quite the opposite actually, because he feels your hand on the back of his head, tugging gently at the curls cascading down his neck as you pull him in deeper.
despite having kissed you a couple times before, this kiss makes lando that much more excited to spend as much time with you as you and stevie were willing to grant him.
and he’ll make sure it’s the most loved you two will ever feel.
࿐ ࿔*:・ december 14th
“theo, watch your step.”
the young boy was carrying a box bigger than himself with stevie following right behind him, a smaller box of her stuff in hand.
today was the day you were moving into your new home– a home you and stevie will be sharing with the two most important boys in your life– and you couldn’t be more excited.
to some, it seemed like it all came too soon— the relationship, the moving in together, caring for each other’s child whenever the other needed it, but neither you nor lando cared what others thought.
it was clear from the first few months of knowing you that lando would be head over heels in love with you. he didn’t care how quickly your lives entwined, instead he was excited to see what would grow from it.
you placed the last few boxes in the living room and stood in the doorframe to the dining room, watching as stevie and theo chased each other, their laughter echoing off of the walls.
lando’s hands creep around your waist as he pulls you in from behind. he places a gentle kiss against your hairline, “welcome home, love.”
you turn around to face him, arms instinctively hugging his neck as your eyes well with tears.
“welcome home to us.”
࿐ ࿔*:・ two years later, june 26th
the sun peeked from behind the clouds, rays of light bouncing off of your face as the pinks, blues and oranges merged into a beautiful sunset above the water.
it was one of the warmer days and lando decided to take you all out for a picnic on the beach. it wasn’t unusual for him to plan spontaneous activities, but still he was nervous you knew what he was up to.
the velvet box sat tucked away in the bag of stuff he packed, his heartbeat quickening every time you dove into it to find something you needed.
that’s where theo came in.
“y/n,” he called out just as your hand was reaching into the exact corner the box was located in. you turned your attention to the boy, sitting up straight.
while theo was blowing your mind with his dinosaur facts, lando hastily stuck his hand into the bag and retrieved the ring box, immediately putting it into his pocket. when theo glanced back over to his dad, lando gave him a reassuring wink and the boy took off to play by the water with stevie, again.
“oh, guess that’s all he wanted,” you shrugged before turning around to lando. “you didn’t pack any napkins?”
“oh,” lando panicked. fuck, through all his meticulous planning with max and pietra, he forgot to pack the most important thing. how was he supposed to propose with his hands all messy? “uhm, no, must’ve forgot, sorry.”
you leaned over to place a gentle kiss on his cheek. “that’s alright, i’ll go splash around in the water with the kiddos and wash my hands then.”
lando watched as you pulled yourself up and made your way towards the water, his heart pounding against his sternum. he took one last glance at the box that could make or break the future with you he had already planned out in his head, and followed your lead.
once he was close enough, stevie ran up to him. “lando! the water is so warm, come feel it.”
he couldn’t say no to the little girls pleading eyes and followed her as she dragged him to the water. he took that as one last chance to calm himself down and get it over with.
lando was only nervous because it wasn’t just you he’s proposing to. stevie had become such an important part of his life that he’s afraid of ruining her perception of him if the proposal were to go wrong. and his mother already loved the girl, even after the handful of times they’ve met.
so, anxiety was understandable in his case.
he watched stevie’s wide grin as she looked out at the water, and then behind herself to where her mum and theo were chatting.
you had noticed lando’s behaviour change, ever since last night, but you figured it was something he’d bring up to you if he wanted to talk about it, so you haven’t paid much thought to it.
lando’s made his to you, stevie’s small hand in his, and his other one on the box. his chest felt like it was getting smaller and smaller with each step he took towards you. the only thing that calmed him down was your smile while looking at them both.
you watched as stevie let go and ran towards you, yet quickly swerved to find where theo was. your eyes followed her to see that she wouldn’t run into any trouble, and when you turned back around, you saw a nervous lando. “you okay?” you nervously laugh. “you’ve been weird all day today.”
“there’s so many things i could say to you right now, but i think it’s better to save them for our vows.”
“vow- what?” you furrow your brows. that’s when he sinks down to one knee and you feel your eyes well up with tears.
he took a breath, a small smile adorning his face, and then the words you had dreamed of hearing, ever since you were a little girl, left his mouth.
“will you marry me?”
࿐ ࿔*:・ wedding day
you watched the on-going bustle of guests from the window of your lonesome dressing room.
the echoing sound of your heart pounding against your sternum was loud in your head as you tried to steady your breathing. this was actually, really happening.
you felt your hands shake with how nervous you were, albeit having practiced your vows in the mirror for the past two months, and knowing that lando is truly the one you wish to spend the rest of your life with.
your feet drag you across the hardwood floor of the dressing room, fingers nervously fiddling with one of the more textured parts of your dress. you could feel yourself getting more and more nervous as the clock on the wall ticked by, each second granting you a moment more of anxiety and stress.
your head whips towards the door when a knock echoes through the empty room. “uhm, who is it?”
the door pries open to reveal a curly head of hair with a hand over his eyes. “me, may i come in?”
“what the hell, no?!” you exclaim, panicking. “it’s bad luck for the groom to see his bride before the ceremony, we talked about this.”
despite your best efforts to verbally usher him out, lando makes his way inside and shuts the door behind him, his eyelashes resting atop his cheeks as the green of his irises stay hidden behind eyelids.
“i know, i know,” he sighs in defeat. “but i just had to come see you before the ceremony. well, not see you, exactly, but just, be in your presence, i guess.”
you drop your arms by your sides, sulking a little. “i’m so nervous, lan,” lando could hear your pout and it made him smile.
“i know, me too,” he makes his way over to where he thinks you are and reaches a hand out to find the cusp of your waist. he can feel the fabric of the dress as it sits atop your skin, a smirk forming on his lips. “feels pretty.”
“hey, no!” you swat his hand away. “i’ll run away from the wedding if you do that again.”
“oh, c’mon,” he defends, smiling underneath his palm. his eyes were still shut and his left hand covered them tightly, not a single space left between his fingers to ensure that he couldn’t get even a glance. “i don’t even get a feel?”
“not even a feel,” you cross your arms over your chest and realised he can’t see your sassiness like he usually would. “i just crossed my arms, by the way.”
“i know,” lando shrugs. “i also know you’ve been staring out the window and ogling at people like a psycho.”
you furrow your brows, “how’d you know that?”
“cause i know you.”
a shiver runs down your spine and you can’t help but blush at what lando says, even after close to three years of being together. “what did you really come here for?”
“a good luck kiss?” he asks, so soft and hopeful, that it makes you give in. lando feels your hands gently guiding his face down towards yours, before your lips softly rest against his. he, of course, tries to kiss you like usual– aggressive, long and sweet.
yet you pull away before he can even think of pulling you in by the chin. “the better kiss is for the ceremony, babe,”
he sighs and drops his shoulders, his head dropping as he displays faux disappointment. “fine, whatever. saying you hate me would hurt less.”
“yeah, because i hate you so much that both me and my daughter are taking your last name,” you roll your eyes.
“our daughter,” his voice is stern when he corrects you. lando hears a noise outside the door, suddenly alert and tense. “i think it’s almost time.”
you take one last peek out the window and notice everyone in their seats. “oh, god, yeah. go, you can’t be seen here.”
“alright, love you, see you out there” he turns around and reaches for the door. “pretend i winked at you when i said ‘see you out there’, cause i couldn’t actually wink an-“
“lando, go!” you step closer to him, your dress whispering beneath you as your hands gently urge him to leave.
“one more kiss?” he suddenly turns back around and you roll your eyes.
“you’re impossible,” you cup his face again.
“so i’ve been told,” he smirks against your lips. “and yet you’re marrying me, mrs. norris.”
“i wouldn’t have it any other way,” you place another peck against his pursed lips before the door shuts in front of you, and you’re left alone with your thoughts, again.
you stand there for a moment, heart racing and palms sweating, yet still you were feeling more certain than ever that this was the best decision you ever could’ve made.
࿐ ࿔*:・゚
the ceremony has long passed and now you are in the middle of the dance floor, your hands held with theo.
the young boy expressed that he didn’t want to dance anymore, so you brought him to the table where his plate sits. on it, of course, are the dinosaur shaped chicken nuggets you and lando specifically requested for theo to have.
your kids were now six and five, both very unique and yet somehow very similar.
theodore maxwell norris was a smart boy, interested in pretty much anything to do with dinosaurs, space or monster trucks. he requested to spend his sixth birthday at a museum, which stevie was absolutely thrilled with. the two young children had always known how to entertain each other, ever since they met.
stephanie jane norris, albeit a year younger than theo, was also quite smart for her age. she found interest in princesses, nature and most recently, karting. she accompanied theo to multiple of his races and took part in some practice laps, and found that it’s actually more fun than she remembered.
your eyes caught a glimpse of lando as he danced with stevie on the dance floor, the little girl actively shaking her head to a rock song and lando laughing at her with max. the girl then grabbed both of them by the hand and started dancing in a circle, in turn bringing a smile to your face.
“y/n?” theo poked your arm to catch your attention. you look down at him as he’s sat on the chair, eyes glaring up to yours. “do i have to call you mum now?”
you kneel down to be his height and place a reassuring hand on his shoulder, “you don’t have to do anything you don’t feel comfortable with.”
the little boy just shrugs before taking another chicken nugget off of his plate, “okay, mum.”
you felt your heart swell and eyes well with tears at the fact that he so casually called you mum. you had imagined that it’d take at least a few more years of getting more comfortable with you for that to happen, but the boy saw no reason not to call you that. stevie called lando dad, anyway, so it only seemed fair in his eyes.
what theodore failed to realise was that, without even knowing it, he managed to make extra room in your heart and build a pillow fort there, in which he and stevie resided. you had convinced yourself that stevie would be your only true love in this world, that you didn’t need to meet anyone or have more kids.
it’s funny how a man and his son could waltz their way into your life, and turn it around for the better.
theo felt you place a gentle kiss to his head before you excused yourself to go dance with his dad. in the meanwhile, stevie had made her way behind theo and scared him.
“don’t do that, stevie,” theodore warns before picking up his apple juice box and taking a few gulps.
the girl shifts her weight from her heels to her toes. “sorry, theo. do you want to dance?”
“can i be a dancing t-rex?” he asked, an eyebrow rising with curiosity.
stevie giggled. “only if i can be your sister t-rex. let’s go!”
he watched as you ran back towards the dance floor, his face still evidently confused as he mumbled to himself, “i thought she already was my sister?”
࿐ ࿔*:・゚interview about max fewtrell’s wdc
“theo! daddy’s on tv!” stevie’s voice echoed through the living room and theo came rushing in with a bowl of popcorn, as if the interview was some sort of movie.
you were sandwiched between the two kids, the bowl strategically placed in your lap so they don’t have to strain too much to get their snack.
the television screen showed a clear shot of lando and max chatting, lando’s arm wrapped around his best friend’s shoulders as he congratulated him again.
the interviewer— theo had informed you that he was a retired formula one driver, nico rosberg— invited them in to chat and all three of you eagerly watched, waiting for them to start talking.
“lando! what a pleasant surprise to see you here,” his german, or maybe british, accent echoed in the living room. “haven’t seen you here since you left the sport.”
“yeah, y’know,” lando flashed his wide, toothy grin, “life had other plans.”
“yeah?” nico tilted his head to the side. “how’s your family? your son doing okay?”
lando pointed at the camera next to them. “they’re watching from our home back in england,” he turns his face towards the lens and waves at it. “hi guys.”
stevie and theo eagerly wave back. “hi dad!” they say, in unison, before breaking into a fit of giggles.
lando continued talking about personal matters, trying his best not to get too into it. he knew how the media was, and you had already had some encounters with less than pleasant fans.
finally, as nico was ready to wrap up the interview, he asked lando if there was anything he missed from his racing days.
“honestly? no.” he shrugged. “i think quitting opened up a plethora of new opportunities for me, including growing my own little family. my wife and i are blessed to have each other and raise our daughter and sons.”
“sons?” nico furrows his brows. he lowers the microphone away from their faces and leans in cautiously. “i thought you had only theo?”
theo looks up at you. “you’re pregnant?”
“i’m going to have another brother? awesome!” stevie jumped up on the couch, and your fingers found the bridge of your nose to pinch, in search of any comfort.
lando panicked. “i, uhm, max did great. he’s much stronger and tougher than he lets on, and maybe we should let the champion talk, yeah?” he blurted out all in one breath as he grabbed max by the shoulders and pulled him towards nico. max shook his head with confusion before turning towards the interviewer.
little did he know his best friend just announced your pregnancy to the entire world.
࿐ ࿔*:・ mother’s day
“mum!”
you heard their fragile little voices from behind your closed bedroom door and tried your best to sit up, your pregnant belly making it that much harder to function.
you’ve been on bedrest for the past week, and it’s been absolutely amazing getting to rest, but so boring. what does one do when forced to stay in bed all day?
stevie and theo knew the answer.
“could we make mother’s day cards for mum?” theo asked lando over breakfast, just as he was making your oatmeal with berries.
the curly-haired man shrugged. “sure, but you only have until tomorrow morning.”
“ooh! and can we get her heart balloons and flowers?” stevie muffled, as she finished up the last bites of her pancake.
“we don’t speak with our mouths full, love,” lando warns. “but yes, we can also get her balloons and flowers. you guys think she’ll like that?”
“and a kiss from dad,” stevie giggled before hopping off her chair and making her way to the dish washer. lando shook his head with a laugh.
in the very crack of morning, while all of you were sound asleep, lando had gone to the grocery store to buy all the necessities— red roses, self care items, some sweets and, of course, heart balloons, as per stevie’s instructions.
when the kiddos woke up and when lando had made sure you were awake as well, they made their way to the master bedroom.
their small hands knocked a rhythm onto the door before they heard your silent “come in!”
your face lit up with a smile when your three favourite people made their way into the bedroom. “happy mother’s day!” the three of them smiled at you and lando pouted when he saw your eyes well with tears.
you soundlessly said “hormones” before stretching your arms out to bring both of your little loves into a hug.
stevie presented you her card first. “it’s us! and we’re on an air balloon. and that’s baby.”
she pointed her little fingers at the five figures on the page— you were holding hands with lando and next to you stood your three children. the newborn baby was in a stroller, which you took as a sign that stevie hopes your son will be here soon.
next it was theo’s turn. he gave you the card without saying anything, instead offering you another hug when tears spilled down your cheeks as you read it. stars live in space and also in you! happy mother’s day. scribbled in the cutest six year old writing you’ve ever read.
lando later explained that theo had watched a video about there, supposedly, being stardust in everyone’s blood, which made you even more emotional.
“thank you, my loves,” you hugged them all once again before lando made his way over to give you a kiss and the flowers.
“thank you for being the best wife and mother to my kids that i could have asked for.”
࿐ ࿔*:・゚where it all began.
baby noises and giggles fill your living room as you try to set up the camera to the best of your abilities.
“theo, honey, could you hold henry more towards the middle?” you ask as you press your eye to the viewfinder eyepiece to check what the photo would look like.
stevie sat on the left side of the sofa, an empty space left on the edge for you, as your newest addition— a six month old boy named henry parker norris— was snuggled between her and theo, with lando on the far right edge.
“babe, just set it to video and come sit,” lando said, a little annoyed by how long the whole process is taking. “henry’s getting fussy.”
“he’s okay, lan,” you roll your eyes. “and this is going in stevie’s scrapbook, so it needs to be perfect.”
it’s a few more minutes before you finally sit down and wait for ten seconds before you hear the click of your camera. after close inspection, you realise that stevie was making a weird face, lando was mid-blink, your hair looked a mess and theo was looking at henry.
a sigh of defeat escapes your lips right as your front door opens and in comes pietra. “oh my god, thank god you’re here.” you exclaim, as if you hadn’t invited her for coffee, and she looks at you with a confused smile. “can you help with family photos?”
she nodded and, without hesitation, followed you back to the living room. pietra stood behind the camera on the not-so-stable tripod and ordered you all around before snapping a few pictures. her logic was that if you take enough pictures in a set amount of time, at least a few of them are going to turn out good.
and, after inspecting the pictures closely once more and deciding that they’re better than just good, you give her a hug and slump into it. “thank you, i was beginning to lose hope of making her a good scrapbook spread for her birthday.”
pietra laughed. “she’s lucky to have such a hard-working mum, so i doubt she’d mind. but i’m happy to help!”
after giving him the green light, lando helped the kids change and took care of henry’s feeding and diaper before packing them all up for a walk. “we’ll go make dinner while you two take my little man on a walk, sound good?”
you nodded and gave him a soft peck, and pietra followed you out to the front yard. both of you watched as lando, stevie and theo walked towards the car, on their way to the grocery store, while little henry waited for you, snug in his stroller.
“i never imagined it,” pietra started. “lando being a dad to more than just theo, i mean. it suits him.”
“yeah?” you turn your head towards her, a small and proud smile on your face as your fingers softly wrapped around the handle of the stroller. “i never imagined finding anyone else as important as stevie was to me. like i didn’t know my heart could expand enough to fit more than just her in there, y’know.”
“yeah,” she nodded, following you as you made your way towards one of your favourite places in the world. “i mean, i guess that makes sense since you were each other’s biggest love for three years.”
“yeah, but now she’s a lot more loving to lando than me” a laugh leaves your lips. the chilly spring air caressed your cheeks as you pushed the beige coloured stroller. your little newborn lay peacefully in it, little eyes curiously wandering around.
he was barely six and a half months old, but already so attentive, responsive and curious, and looked just like stevie when she was this age. he was a peaceful baby so far— not much fussing during the day and he slept well at nights. on the few occasions that he didn’t, lando would be up in a flash to take care of your little henry’s needs.
it was endearing to watch him explore fatherhood with three kids now, as opposed to when it was just him and theo. you admired how sweet he was with stevie while explaining why he does what he does when changing diapers or fixing bottles, or how he intently listened to theo’s explanation on how to properly burp a baby.
“is this the place?” pietra nudged her chin at the playground that’s slowly coming more into view. it’s a little more worn now– the paint had chipped off the bars where theo used to pretend he was a monkey on, and the slide had little divots, yet it used to be smooth and barely worn out when stevie used to insist on taking it backwards, with her belly to the metal.
it brought back some nostalgia to when you first met lando. it was on the very same bench that pietra was sitting on right now. you watched the playground with a small smile on your lips, a tear threatening to spill from your eye.
henry fussed in the stroller and immediately calmed down when you placed a gentle hand on his tummy to steady him. “we’re at the playground. you’ll get to play here with your brother and sister when you’re a little older.”
pietra silently watched as you picked him up and gently laid his cheek to rest on yours, his little eyes adjusting to the light around him. henry looked around, the plethora of colours elicited a few excited ooh’s from his little body. “this is where i met your dada,” you smiled at henry.
henry cooed as you pointed to things at the playground and explained each ones significance. you knew he didn’t understand it yet, but you were willing to tell him the story over and over again. it was the biggest twist of fate you had ever experienced– that very morning, stevie had begged you to finally take a walk since it had been too cold for months now, and you agreed.
if you had been just a little more careful and told her to wait another day, week or month, chances are you wouldn’t be holding your baby while your husband made dinner at home with your other two kids.
pietra perked up when you walked over to her and she immediately extended her hands to take henry from you. “come to auntie p,” she baby talked as you handed her your son. “he has a nose just like lando’s.”
“he has the neck strength like lando’s, too.” you sit down beside her and closely watch as she gently bounced henry on her knees. just then, you blurted something that had been on your mind for a while. “do you think it’s weird that lando and i are together?”
“excuse me?” she turns to you with a confused face. “why would anyone think that?”
“i don’t know, i mean, like…” you take a second to collect your thoughts. it was starting to sound like you were regretting this life, meanwhile it was the complete opposite. “like the way we met, it was random.”
“it’s not random, love,” pietra rolls her eyes. “it’s something called fate.”
henry let out a happy noise at your question, his tiny fingers reaching out to poke at pietra’s face. “you agree, huh, lil’ man?” she asks as he pushes his whole hand to her cheek, and you can’t help but laugh at the unfolding scene in front of you.
after a few moments, when henry was back in his stroller and you two were on your way back home, you looked back to the area behind you with a sentimental look in your eye. “who knew playgrounds and playdates would bring me the loveliest life i could’ve imagined?”

they have a point though. you wouldn't need everyone to accommodate you if you just lost weight, but you're too lazy to stick to a healthy diet and exercise. it's that simple. I'd like to see you back up your claims, but you have no proof. you have got to stop lying to yourselves and face the facts
Must I go through this again? Fine. FINE. You guys are working my nerves today. You want to talk about facing the facts? Let's face the fucking facts.
In 2022, the US market cap of the weight loss industry was $75 billion [1, 3]. In 2021, the global market cap of the weight loss industry was estimated at $224.27 billion [2].
In 2020, the market shrunk by about 25%, but rebounded and then some since then [1, 3] By 2030, the global weight loss industry is expected to be valued at $405.4 billion [2]. If diets really worked, this industry would fall overnight.

Over 50 years of research conclusively demonstrates that virtually everyone who intentionally loses weight by manipulating their eating and exercise habits will regain the weight they lost within 3-5 years. And 75% will actually regain more weight than they lost [4].

Doctors became so desperate that they resorted to amputating parts of the digestive tract (bariatric surgery) in the hopes that it might finally result in long-term weight-loss. Except that doesn’t work either. [6] And it turns out it causes death [7], addiction [8], malnutrition [9], and suicide [7].

Studies have observed that about 30% of so-called “normal weight” people are “unhealthy” whereas about 50% of so-called “overweight” people are “healthy”. Thus, using the BMI as an indicator of health results in the misclassification of some 75 million people in the United States alone [20].

While epidemiologists use BMI to calculate national obesity rates (nearly 35% for adults and 18% for kids), the distinctions can be arbitrary. In 1998, the National Institutes of Health lowered the overweight threshold from 27.8 to 25—branding roughly 29 million Americans as fat overnight—to match international guidelines. But critics noted that those guidelines were drafted in part by the International Obesity Task Force, whose two principal funders were companies making weight loss drugs [21].

The Irkutsk Molotochniki: AKA The Academy Maniacs (BIG info post)

NOTE: Haiii!! Sorry I haven’t been posting, I got a life! I’ve been writing this since AUGUST! But took a 3 month break. I kinda rushed the trial but everything else comes from Russian articles! <3
Early Life
Artyom Alexandrovich Anoufriev
RUSSIAN: Артём Александрович Ануфриев
Born October 4th, 1992, in Irkutsk Russia to mother Nina Ivanovna Anoufrieva and no father had been described positively by classmates despite being an outcast and his hard home life. Including a family friend who had known him ‘from the cradle’ who characterized Artyom as “Artyom is a good-natured boy, polite, I’ve never heard a bad word from him,”. According to his headmaster his mother had taught time to hate people and give given bad grades, would try coerce the teacher into psychologically pressuring her son. Artyom had good grades especially in English and literature, he had also shown interest in music and took lessons for the guitar and double bass. He had also joined, sang and played in a local music group before the groups organizer left.

Artyom as a kid
During his older years Artyom started to mature and became more out going while his grades deteriorated. He shortly graduated high school with sufficiency. In his senior year his class filmed a farewell video, in which everyone gave their opinion on what happiness meant to them. In the video Artyom answer was: "To be honest, I do not know what happiness is. But I would really like to quickly find out what it is.".
After graduation Artyom went onto Irkutsk State Medical University while working at an art museum.
Three months before his arrest Artyoms neighbours reported hearing yelling and banging on the walls, like he was hitting the wall with his fists or running at it full speed. Artyom would yell “I hate everybody” and “I will kill you”. During the investigation Artyom would admit that at times his relationship with his mother was strained, and that he’d fear he wouldn’t be able to prevent himself from killing her. According to Artyoms lawyer, Svetlana Kokareva, he often talked negatively about his mother and called her ‘defective’ as well as a generally negative attitude towards women. Nikita also reportedly experienced similar: his depression worsened, he stopped communication with family and he started experiencing insomnia.
Nikita Vakhtangovich Lytkin
RUSSIAN: Никита Вахтангович Лыткин
Born March 24th, 1993, in Irkutsk Russia to his mother Marina, who worked at a shoe store and to a father who left the family shortly after Nikita was born. His father than married another woman who died shortly after and whose son committed suicide in the wake of his mothers death. Nikita’s father would return but leave after due to his depression from his deceased ex wife. During Nikita’s childhood he would come and go. Many accounts say Nikita was bullied at school and instead of standing up for himself he would just reply with “die.” Because of this, Nikita was given the nickname ‘Jimbo’ as a reference to Jimbo Jones, a bully from ‘the simpsons’.

Nikita as a kid
During junior high Nikita would do very well at studying and had good marks, he did not like math very much and in 5th grade was assigned to a special math class do to poor test results. Besides his good grades, Nikita was unsociable and uncommunicative. One family friend says this is because Nikita was jealous of his classmates with richer families. Because of his poor socialization Nikita started losing relations to friends.

Nikita’s childhood home
Meeting
At a mutual friends birthday party Nikita (10) and Artyom (11) met, with the two studying at the same school but one studying a grade higher. The two quickly grew close and Nikita fell into a deep depression, only trusting Artyom at the time, the two supported each other. Artyoms mother did not support the twos friendship and stated that she thought Nikita would have a bad influence on her son. However, after graduating Artyom would continue to study and even enroll into medical school unlike Artyom, Nikita did not. In several reports Nikita either dropped out of school or got expelled for insufficient grades.
During their friendship the started a punk-rock band called ‘Злые гномы’ the band didn’t last long but in 2008 the band was able to put out an album called ‘Чёрные полосы крови’ (AKA. Black Streaks Of Blood) the pair soon started another band, a noise band, named ‘Расчленённая ПугачОва’ or ‘Dissected PugachOva’.
Violent Interests
The duo both had a common interest of maniacs and murderers. The most relevant being the Irkutsk ‘Blood Money Gang’ in March of 2010. The gang being led by 22-year-old Konstantin Shumkov. Shumkov though he was expelled from his educational institution, wanted to work with children. He gathered a group of teenagers from dysfunctional families to kill 5 homeless people and attack 3 others in 2009. The pair followed the news very closely and even dedicated an album to the gang with songs like “Killing is cool!”, “Massacre at a maternity hospital” and “I killed a homeless man”. Nikita also reportedly made a social media group out of sympathy for the gangs leader named ‘Irkutsk Anti Bom-Gang: Blood Magic’ in the introduction fornthe group the group declares their hopes to continue Shumkovs work.
“The "Dismembered PugachOva" group will continue the work of the "Blood Magic" not only in the musical sense, but also in the real sense. [...] There is no place for posers in our group. Only those who decide the fate of cattle or are only going to start serious actions are allowed. If you are determined, you are here.”
As well, they would most videos of the murders in the groups and told the members to ‘abandon empty posturing and commit at least one murder’
You may wonder how people didn’t think of that as a red flag, well, many visitors thought that the videos they posted were staged and that they were ‘young liars and braggots’.
The two made other social media groups such as "We are gods", "Pichushkin - our president" a reference to a fellow Russian serial killer and "Dissected Pugachova"in reference to their band by the same name. However I could not find what exactly they posted.
Possible Motives
There are a few theories on what the duos motives were, one theory is that they were pushed by Nationalist propaganda. Since for a while Artyom was apart of a white power skinhead group and given the nickname “Fashik- Natsik”. From Artyoms suggestion Nikita would converse online with the skinheads but was ultimately denied part in the group due to his discrediting Ossetian patronymic Vakhtangovich (Iranian-Caucasian decent). Their affiliation with the skinheads didn’t last, as one investigator states ‘they immediately sensed their animal cruelty and rejected them’ another report stated that Artyom felt the groups ideology was ‘too passive and soft’. The then leader of the skinheads ‘Boomer’ stated later in court that ‘Anoufriev felt hatred towards everyone, and did not care whom he killed’. After being arrested in the pre-trial detention room Anoufriev made a message that stated:
"I want to apologize to everyone. My advice to parents: forbid your children to visit sites of nationalistic nature in social networks,"
However, the duo isn’t thought to be hate oriented since they didn’t have any nationality in mind. Nor did they care about homeless people or immigrants. Anoufriev and Lytkin simply hated all of humanity all together and even openly stated it. A motive that both Anoufriev and Lytkin confirm is their desire to imitate other serial killers.
According to Anoufriev the idea of murder was Lytkins.and claimed that it, unlike Lytkin, did not give him the satisfaction he had hoped for. He says he only did it “he put it where it wasn’t necessary” and described Lytkin with "I will just say—he is a leader. He did not influence, but was an instigator of crimes,". However, during the investigation Anoufriev stated that he was planning on moving to St.Petersburg and commit more crimes had he not been arrested. Investigator, Yevgeny Karchevsky reports that Lytkin admitted that he couldn’t have done it alone and stated that “it wasn’t interesting to one” and “Artyom and I did it- I liked it”. Lytkin also stated, like Anoufriev, that he would’ve kept killing had he not been caught.
The two stated they would walk from 6pm - 10pm around the “State University” transport stop in Akademgorodok. They would miss 5-20 people while looking for a suitable victim.
Timeline of Crimes
November 14, 2010 - Anoufriev and Lytkin attacked an 18-year-old Anastasia Markovskaya while she was walking from the 19th school bus stop in the way of the Novo-Irkutsky Village. The two tried bashing her head in to which they were in some reports, scared off, while in others she played dead. Markovskaya reported on the Akademgorodok online forum about the attacked. Where Anoufriev and Lytkin responded and asked her how it felt to be beaten.
November 24, 2010 - the pair attacks an unnamed 46-year-old woman, stealing her bag.
December 1, 2010 - the pair attacks a woman, stealing 500 rubles which they used to buy mallets. Later the same day the pair spotted a 12-year-old Danil Semyonov going down a snowy hill on his sled. Nikita initiated a the idea of killing Semyonov to Artyom since he was a weak victim who couldn’t put up a strong Defense. After catching Semyonov Nikita struck him in the back of the head, knocking him down. Artyom then hit him with a baseball bat, Nikita then stabbed Semyonov in the temple with a penknife. Later when Danils mother and bother had found him and had paramedics called to the scene. However, after being caught in a traffic jam, Semyonov was dead before arrival. On Semyonov’s arm was found a hematoma (also known as, a bruise) curating the idea he either fought back or was grabbed roughly. The next day his sled was found in good condition. Semyonovs parents and police didn’t think it was a homicide and instead an accident, that he simply hit a birch tree at high speeds. However later Anoufriev and Lytkin stated that the boy was simply ‘training’ for them. He was the first victim killed.
December 16, 2010 - nearly 20m from the spot Semyonov was killed, a 69-year-old Olga Mikhailovna was found. Olga had been a researcher at the Research Institute for solar and terrestrial physics. The pair killed her quickly unlike Semyonov. She was found with 30 knife wounds. Nikita and Artyom had also made an audio recording discussing how they’d kill her, after which they recorded the murder.
December 29, 2010 - The pair first attacked 29-year-old Valentinovna Svetlova at 6am, who escaped. The pair only took her purse which they then threw out. She miraculously survived her attack. An hour after her attack 22 year-old coach Yekaterina Karpova, Karpova was pregnant during her attack while walking home with her 6-year-old niece Olga Averina. While walking to the railroad Karpova reported that she saw the pair but didn’t engage. While crossing the railroad the two were attacked by Nikita and Artyom, Averina managed to escape with being hit by Nikita in the sides, later being diagnosed with extensive hematoma in the liver area. Karpova had, had her skull crushed in and fingers snapped despite screaming that she was pregnant. The killers were scared off by a car pulling out from around the corner. In result to this, Karpova and her pregnancy miraculously survived.
January 1, 2011 - Around 5am Artyom and Nikita attacked a homeless man who lived near some garbage cans, inflicting 40 hit to him as well as smashing his head in with mallets. He died later in hospital and has been deemed ‘Corpse No.20’ since authorities couldn’t identify the man.
On January 15th a 19-year-old homeless man named Vladimir Bazilevsky, who had bloodied clothes was detained on suspicion of the previous murder. During the interview he told officials that he had spent the night in a sewer well however, officials began to make him believe otherwise and how Bazilevsky put it “Knocked a murder confession” out of him. After more investigation he was wrongfully convicted of murder and in April of 2011 was sentenced to 4 years. After the actual killers were arrested, DNA of the blood on his clothes didn’t match any of the victims. In May of 2012 after serving over a year and a half of prison time, Bazilevsky was released and all charges against him were dropped.
January 30, 2011 - The pair attacked a student named Oleg Semyonov who was returning home from a night club. He survived with head wounds, a concussion and traumatic brain injury.
February 3, 2011 - The pair attacks an unidentified elderly woman whom survived with a head injury.
February 8-9 date unknown, 2011 - At night the pair attacks another woman whom survived due to a passing by car.
February 21, 2011 - While walking home drunk from visiting his sister Alexander Petrovich Maximov was attacked and killed. His jaw and head had been completely broken, as well he had been decapitated with remainders of his skull being found afterwards. Lytkin shot him in the head with a Baikal air pistol and Anoufriev had tried to remove his eyes, but ultimately failed lacking the proper knowledge. Maximov had a closed casket funeral, unable to have an open casket.
February 27, 2011 - Lytkin single-handedly attacked a woman by the name of Nina Kuzmina whom was sitting on a bench located on Lermontov St. Lytkin hit her twice in the head, but because of Kuzmina making a ‘fuss’ a nearby man looking out his window scared Lytkin off, taking the woman’s phone with him. Kuzmina survived.
March 11 , 2011 - On a walkway near the State university bus stop, Anoufriev and Lytkin killed a homeless man by the name of Roman Faizullin. Anoufriev shot him in the face before the pair dragged him behind some bushes and off the street. The pair stabbed Faizullin in the head, chest and groin. Lytkin had attempted to cut the mans hand off but only managed his pinky finger. Later Anoufriev photographed the corpse from his apartment window since it was near.
After this attack a rally was held in the area to discuss what precautions and measures should be put in place. Anoufriev and Lytkin would go to these rallies and meetings, they would share ideas about the killers and would video tape the meetings. By this time police had already figured out that the killer was between ages 16-18 and set up patrol cars that would tour the area to reduce other attacks (which didn’t work). Still in the area there was misinformation which lead to the citizens fearing that the killer was a guy in his 30s.
The pair then gained the name the “Academy Maniacs” via a journalist for the Komsomolskaya Pravda, Olga Lipchinskaya since nobody could identify the boys.
??, 2011 - On an unknown date the pair attacked a homeless woman whom survived the attack due to an off duty police officer seeing the pair from out his window.
??, 2011 - on another unknown date the pair attacked a woman using a screwdriver. Since the place was crowded the pair left and the woman survived.
April 3, 2011 - The last of the pairs crimes. The two killed a 63-year-old homeless woman named Alevtina Kuydina. The woman was killed near a research institute, after killing her the pair filmed a video. On the video, filmed by Anoufriev, Lytkin can be seen cutting the woman’s earlobe off with a knife after being scolded by Anoufriev for not covering the knife in case of finger prints. Lytkin then tried to cut the woman’s hand off and gouge her eyes. When he couldn’t, he instead struck a knife directly into her eye and started stabbing. Later they dropped the woman’s earlobe off at the porch of a school. Anoufriev send the video to an online friend from St.Petersburg named Ilya Ustinov or known as online “Solomon Gojo” who said the video was sluggish he still however, distributed the video online.
Investigation/ Arrests
Investigators and police didn’t suspect the attacks to be from the same people, since the victims had no relation or anything alike. The investigation lasted months while the town was left in fear. But because of the crime spanning in such a small area the police were able to piece together a sketch of the suspects. The portraits were even sent to the workplace of Lytkins grandmother, the institute of organic chemistry, she noticed how the portrait looked eerily similar to her grandson. She sent her son Vladislav, Lytkins uncle, to his house to question Nikita. Once he got there nobody was home, Nikita having gone out for a walk (but suspected victim hunting). Nikita’s uncle however, found the camera he had lended him, on the camera he saw the video that the pair had filmed prior. After discussing, the family handed the video over to police and soon Lytkin was arrested, Anoufriev following shortly after. Prior to the arrest Lytkins mother had found a knife packaged in the hallway or in other sources, his pocket. When asked about the knife he simply stated it was for Defense.
A little piece of Trial
On March 6 of 2013 Lytkin stated that Anoufriev didn’t participate in four of the attacks and instead someone else accompanied him, Lytkin did give names but they were never publicly disposed. Lytkin also stated he had other accomplices however it’s theorized that he made this up to slow down the investigation. One day at the detention centre Lytkin told his mother "Why do they make the devil out of Artyom and I am so white and fluffy? We are both to blame. He is no worse and no better than me, we committed murders together." Anoufriev states that the police pressed Lytkin using threat of solitary. Lytkins grandmother also published an open letter claiming that she blamed Television, democracy, the internet, satanists and pornography for Lytkins corruption.
During the trial each boy had taken a different defence, Lytkin took leniency on him being a minor at the time of the crime and Anoufriev cause he had only pleaded guilty to 1 count of murder.
Sentencing, Transfers & Where they are now
Artyom:
On April 2nd 2013, Irkutsk Regional Court sentenced Anoufriev to life imprisonment in a special regime colony. On January 27th, 2014, Anoufriev was transferred to Ognenny Ostrov in the Vologda Oblast. After transferring, Anoufriev stated in interviews that he did not agree with the sentence and that his family was trying to get him out on parole, as well, he also stated that he was working on a book but did not explain what it was about. And in Febuary of 2017 Anoufriev stated that he had been studying Law at The University of Latvia.

Runaway Bride

Pairing: Jungwon x fem! Reader
Synopsis: You are about to marry Jungwon after having a sweet and dramatic relationship for years. Everyone thinks you two are perfect for each other—two pure souls meant to be together. But as the wedding march starts, you panic and run away, leaving Jungwon, the dramatic groom, chasing after his runaway bride. Another cute disaster, right?
Author's note: This is inspired by a TikTok art video that I saw month ago, and it suited the characters of my previous work. Happy Reading!
Warning: This story contains exaggerated drama and humor. Expect a lot of crying.
Permanent tag list: @sol3chu @chlorinecake @13tter @jung1w0n
Sequel of Two of a Kind but can be stand alone!
“I CAN’T MARRY YOU! YOU’RE TOO GOOD FOR ME!” You screamed as you bolted out, the long train of your wedding dress trailing behind you. Tears streamed down your face, but you couldn’t stop running. You had no idea what was happening, but everything felt overwhelming.
Jungwon, in his perfectly tailored groom suit, was running after you.
He didn't know what was happening but wouldn’t let you escape. “WHAT DOES THAT EVEN MEAN?!” His voice echoed behind you, panicked. He was running fast, but your wedding gown made you surprisingly fast as you sped down the steps. “YOU CAN’T JUST RUN AWAY LIKE THIS!”
You looked back over your shoulder, feeling the weight of your dress pulling you down, but you kept going. “YOU’RE TOO NICE TO ME! YOU’RE TOO PERFECT! I—I can’t keep up!” You shouted breathlessly, trying to shake him off as if it would make everything make sense again.
“I—I—” Jungwon stammered, trying to catch his breath while still chasing after you. He didn’t know why you said this, but he didn’t want to lose you. “What does that even mean?! I’m too nice? Is that a problem?” His voice cracked, his forehead glistening with sweat as he closed the distance between you two. “You’re making no sense!”
‘’AH!’’ You stumbled, nearly tripping on the hem of your dress, but you quickly regained your footing, still running as if your life depended on it. “You always do everything right!” you continued, voice shaky. “You bring me flowers for no reason, you make me laugh when I’m sad, you always know how to make everything better… and I—I can’t keep up with that! I don’t deserve you! You deserve someone perfect, not me!” You gasped for air.
“I CAN BE LESS NICE!” Jungwon cried out as he suddenly threw himself face-down onto the grass. “I’LL RUIN MY HAIR! I’LL—” He popped his head up, dirt smeared on his cheek. He became more desperate. “I-I WON’T COOK YOUR FAVORITE FOODS,” he said, though it pained him.
He reached out to grab your hands, holding them tightly. He continued, “Don’t leave me! I’ll… I’ll learn to be slightly annoying! I’ll forget your birthday! I’ll stop replacing the toilet paper roll! PLEASE MARRY ME!”
You then looked down at him while hiccuping. ‘’You spend many gifts on me! You have too much money!’’
‘’I’LL MAKE MYSELF BROKE THEN!’’
You sobbed loudly, dramatically wiping your cheeks with your veil, which had long since slid crookedly down your face. “NO! I DON’T WANT YOU TO CHANGE!” you screamed, your voice echoing in the open field where you had fled. “THAT’S THE PROBLEM, JUNGWON! YOU’RE TOO NICE, TOO PERFECT, AND IT’S TOO MUCH!” You hiccupped.
Jungwon’s eyes widened, and tears spilled down his cheeks as he reached out to you. “BUT THAT’S WHO I AM!” he cried, his voice cracking. “AND I CAN’T CHANGE THAT, EVEN IF I WANTED TO! PLEASE, DON’T MAKE ME CHANGE BECAUSE I DON’T WANT YOU TO CHANGE EITHER!”
His words pained you as your tears suddenly streamed faster. “I don’t want you to change either!” your voice breaking. “I just—I just feel like I don’t deserve you, Jungwon!”
Jungwon stood abruptly. “And who cares if I think that?! I deserve you! You don’t get to decide how much you mean to me! You don’t get to run away because you think you’re not enough! You are enough for me, do you hear me?! You always have been!”
You let out a loud sob, throwing yourself into his arms. “FINE! I’LL MARRY YOU!” you cried, your voice muffled against his chest as you clung to him. “I’m sorry! I love you!”
Jungwon wrapped his arms around you as tightly as he could. “I love you too,”
You both stood in the middle of the field, crying and clutching each other. Finally, Jungwon pulled back just enough to cup your face in his hands. “Let’s go back?” he said softly, though his smile was affectionate.
“Of course,” you sniffled, laughing even as more tears fell.
Jungwon smiled brightly, leaning down to kiss your forehead softly. “Come on, runaway bride,” he said, taking your hand. “Let’s go back and finish what we started. I’ll even carry you so you don’t trip on that dress again.”
Jungwon held your hand tightly as you both made your way back to the church, his other hand gripping your bouquet, which he’d picked up during your dramatic escape. You pushed open the grand doors, and every head in the room turned toward you two. A collective gasp echoed through the crowd as they saw you—tears streaking your faces, your dress a little wrinkled, Jungwon’s hair a mess, and both of you clutching each other.
The officiant is utterly confused, and your family sits with their mouths agape. “What in the world—” someone muttered, but you didn’t hear it over your nervous giggle.
“Sorry!” you chirped. You glanced at Jungwon, who smiled tearfully, his eyes still red. “We, um… just needed a little moment outside. But we’re ready now!”
Jungwon raised his free hand awkwardly in a wave. “Yeah. Sorry for the drama,”
Everyone sighed in relief, though the whispers in the crowd didn’t stop. The officiant hesitated but gave a slight nod. “Very well. Let us continue, then.”
You and Jungwon shuffled back to the altar, hand in hand. As the ceremony began, you glanced at him and caught him staring at you, tears welling in his eyes again. You sniffled, and when the officiant asked you to say your vows, it felt like a dam had broken. “I—I can’t even talk,” you sobbed, wiping your tears with the sleeve of your dress. “I just… I love you so much!”
Jungwon sniffled loudly and covered his face with his hands. “Don’t start crying again! I’ll cry too!” he wailed, but his voice cracked, and his tears spilled.
When the officiant finally said, “You may now kiss the bride,” Jungwon didn’t wait a second. He leaned in, pressing a tear-soaked, clumsy kiss to your lips, and you kissed him back with all the love and happiness in the world. The crowd erupted into cheers and applause, though you barely heard it.
You pulled back, still crying, and he grinned at you through his tears. “We made everyone wait, huh?”
You giggled, brushing his hair out of his face. “Worth it,” you whispered before kissing him again,
The world around you is fading into nothing but pure love.

The Sowing of Seeds
Summary ✩ Ulf the White was an imbecile in Jacaerys’ eyes. A drunk and an unworthy dragon rider. However, the Prince finds that his sweet daughter might not be so bad…
Warnings ✩ Smut, mean!Jace, Jace being an ass, classism, self doubt, loss of virginity, innocent!reader, creampie, oral sex, unequal power dynamics (reader is smallfolk and Jace is a Prince), slight mentions of blood

Despite your father’s sloth and drunkenness, you were a sweet little thing.
Jace could not help but to notice you. He tried not to, gods he really did, but with your innocent smile and kind laughter it was hard not to notice the girl who was the complete opposite of your dragon riding father.
You see, when Ulf the White answered the call to Dragonstone, he hadn’t been alone. You his daughter had come with him and it was only natural since you’d been taking care of your father all your life.
You weren’t sure who your mother was exactly, but Ulf always told you that she had long silver hair, purple eyes, and—depending on how many drinks he had that night—skin as pale as the moon or as dark as rich chocolates.
Whichever it was, your father was known for his embellishments, and often times his lack of manners. It wasn’t as if you’d had the most fancy of upbringings in Fleabottom, but you still liked to think that you had some class.
Your father, of course, had no care for such things. As long as he had a drink in hand and a listening ear, he could make himself comfortable anywhere. And unfortunately, right now he had both of those things.
You shook your head disapprovingly and frowned as you saw him seated at the war table, feet propped up and blabbering to Hugh about some tale or another.
You tried to warn him, you really did.
“This kind of behavior is not acceptable here,” You had hissed at him. Like always though, your father didn’t listen. He did as he pleased and now that he had a dragon, he felt entitled to do so.
So when the Prince Jacaerys marched in angrily and settled his fiery gaze onto your father, all you could do was wince and think,
I told you so.
“My Prince.”
You lowered your gaze and refused to make eye contact as he passed you. Suddenly, your worn down shoes became the most interesting thing in the room and you could feel Jacaerys’ stare on you briefly before it turned back to your father.
“What do you think you’re doing?” His accusing tone was not lost on you and your father quickly stood up, a grin on his face as he approached.
“Ah! There he is. Prince Jacaerys in the flesh!” He chuckled as he reached the Prince, not seeming to know or care that he was pissed.
“That’s my mothers’ seat you were sitting in,” Prince Jacaerys hissed, and the only thing he got from your father was a full-fledged laugh.
“Oh, it was just a bit of fun, my prince! I meant no harm,” Ulf waved him off. “You could use a bit of that round here, couldn’t you? All that handsome face is missing is a smile. Look at you—those lovely dark curls. I bet you get all the women with those looks eh?”
“Father!”
You sharply gasped as he carelessly ruffled the Prince’s hair, only stopping once Jace grabbed his arm and squeezed.
Your father winced, probably not expecting the Prince’s grip to be so tight. Briefly, you saw his fingers inch towards the sword that was seated on his hip, and the idea to cut in so that he wouldn’t cut off your father’s hand quickly reached you.
“Forgive him, my Prince. He is not familiar with the manners of court,” You quickly explained.
Jacaerys scoffed. “Or any manners at all, I’d say,” He said. His gaze once again traveled back to you, standing quietly as second hand embarrassment from your father washed over you.
You could tell that his actions irritated the prince more than he already was. He had a habit of looking down on you from the moment that you arrived, and now it seemed that his belief that none of you were good enough was validated.
“And you…” You flinched as Jacaerys’ amber gaze settled on you, breath quickening as a frown appeared on his face.
“How could you allow this? I thought you were better than this.”
The words stung more than anything you could’ve imagined. The implication that the Prince thought highly of you before this encounter made you both want to cry and strangle your father.
You opened your mouth to explain his behavior, to apologize for Ulf like you’d done so many times before. But suddenly,
“I’ll need a word with you to discuss the issue of this behavior,” The Prince suddenly said. You froze. “There is clearly a conversation needed to be held about how to behave yourselves at court.”
Your eyes widened. “But, my Prince—”
“Now.”
His harsh tone left no room for arguing. And neither did his glare. Quickly, you bowed your head in understanding and you tried not to cry as you locked eyes with your father.
Ulf stared at you as you followed the Prince, a hint of something that might have been guilt in his eyes. Whatever it was, you didn’t linger long enough to decipher it before you were gone, following Jacaerys and his guard until you reached another room.
You had to walk nearly halfway across the castle to get there. Briefly, you took in the sights of Dragonstone’s interior and figured that this must have been a place Dragonseeds were forbidden to enter.
Queen Rhaenyra had told you upon arrival that there were only three. The dragon pits without permission, the war council chambers, and the floor of their personal chambers.
Your eyes widened when you realized that this was latter.
“Leave us,” Jacaerys ordered that the two of you be left alone as soon as you walked into his room, making nerves practically explode in your belly.
You wondered if maybe this conversation was that serious to where he didn’t want anyone around to witness what he had to say. Again, your breath hitched as the thought of him bringing you here to privately tell you that you were being hanged or kicked off of Drgaonstone crossed your mind.
You prayed that neither would happen as fear struck your heart.
As the Prince Jacaerys turned to you with a disappointed gaze, you felt like you could hardly breathe. You tried so hard to avoid his gaze, but it was moot as Jacaerys placed a finger your chin and made you look at him.
“He cannot keep doing that,” Was the first thing the Prince said to you, and you were quick to agree as you nodded your head.
“I apologize, my prince. I really do! As I said, my father did not have the most civil of upbringings, and it is hard for him to adjust to all the new ways we must conduct ourselves.”
“And yet somehow, you’ve somehow grasped them just fine, despite being raised by him. Have you not?”Jacaerys mused.
You did not know what to say as you stared into his kind amber eyes. Compared to the look he had given your father, his gaze was considerably softer and you wondered why as you cleared your throat.
“I try…I try not behave as unruly as my upbringing, my prince,” You told him. Trying to ignore how your heart skipped a beat, noticing how handsome he was and how difficult it was to make eye contact with him because of it.
Jacaerys was easily the most attractive and the most important man you had ever met. With full lips, long lashes, and a dashing smile, he looked just like the prince’s you used to dream of rescuing you when you were a girl.
You had not been lying when you said that your childhood had been unruly. Often times, it consisted of taking care of your drunk father and working as soon as you were old enough.
You did little things here and there, enough to keep food on the table and afford shelter amongst others. But the streets of King’s Landing weren’t kind to any children, let alone little girls.
Often times, the only way to earn a decent living was either to leave or stay and sell your body.
No matter how hard times got, you vowed to yourself to never do the latter. No matter what, you just wanted to maintain your dignity and survive, which why you why you were so afraid of being kicked out.
Your father might’ve been too absorbed in his cups to remember what it was like, but you didn’t. You remembered every cold night, every threat of starvation and death.
Here on Dragonstone, those kinds of things didn’t exist. You could eat as much as you wanted, drink so much that your head didn’t throb from the lack of water.
You did everything right here to avoid going back to that place, but was your father really going to be the one to mess it up for you both?
“Hm.” Jacaerys let his eyes roam over you for a few seconds before responding. “You are different from them, you know. You are not like the other…mongrels my mother has invited into our home.”
You swallowed thickly as he took a few steps closer, trying to ignore the sting in your heart at the insult. “How so, Prince?” You managed to ask.
You were ever aware that the things you were thinking about could get you hanged. But gods, Prince Jacaerys was just so pretty that you almost wanted to be like your father and run your hands through his hair.
You wondered what it would feel like to touch a prince. To feel him on your fingertips, and the mere thought had you shivering as his eyes bore into you.
“Well for starters, none of them are as pretty as you,” The Prince smiled.
You reeled back at the compliment, not used to hearing any sort of praises from a man, let alone a Prince. His words had your cheeks growing hot, thankful he could not see the blush creeping on your skin as he continued.
“They are not smart like you are, nor courageous. When Vermithor released his rage you did not flee like the others, did you? You stood your ground to protect your father and it made the dragon deem you worthy. Now that is something I can admire. That is what makes you special.”
“M-My Prince. I—”
“Shh. Call me Jacaerys. Please?”
You shook lightly as he stepped forward, resting a hand on your face and stroking your cheek. You swore that you felt ready to pass out as the Prince rested his forehead against yours, his lips so close that you could feel his breath as his spoke.
“Tell me Dragonseed, and don’t lie. Have you thought of me the way that I’ve been thinking of you these past few weeks?”
“I…Jacaerys!” You let out a gasp, eyes wide as his lips brushed your ear. The sound was so sweet to Jace that he couldn’t help but to smile wider, liking the way that you shivered at his touch.
“I cannot get you from my mind, Y/N,” He confessed quietly. You tried to stop your heart from falling out of your chest as you stood there, stunned. “You plague me like a disease that will not go away. I’ve tired, but I’ve concluded that no remedy will rid me of this ache until I’ve tasted its cause. Until I’ve tasted you, sweetling.”
You stopped breathing momentarily as his pink lips brushed over your neck.
“M-My Prince, Jacaerys, we shouldn’t. I—”
“Do you not want to?” Jacaerys pulled away to stare at you quizzically, waiting for you to give any indication that you wanted him to stop.
While you didn’t, and while you couldn’t ignore the way your body lit on fire form his touch, you still couldn’t deny that a part of this wrong.
“I…You are a prince. I’m just a girl from Fleebottom. A bastard,” You told him weakly, reminding him of his position and your own. “I’m not…I’m not very worthy of you, my Prince. You said it so yourself.”
Quite ashamed, he remembered when you had accidentally walked in on a conversation with his mother and heard him call you that.
You had apologized to no ends for it, but even then Jace had felt guilty when he saw the hurt look on your face.
“I regret deeply what I have said, and I wish I never said it,” He confessed. “I admit, upon seeing strangers claim the birthright I’ve always been entitled to, I grew resentful. I did not think any of you were worthy enough but the dragons themselves have proven me wrong. You…” He shook his head as he smiled. “You are more than worthy of it Y/N, and I believe you are worthy of me. Do you accept this?”
It took only half a second for you to nod, and then giving into your desires, you allowed Jacaerys to kiss you again, feeling yourself getting lost as he guided you to his bed.
The sheets made of velvet and silk were the second softest thing that you had ever felt. The first was Jacaerys’ touch, feather light yet still intoxicating as he ran his hands down your body.
They roamed where no one else’s hands had roamed before, pinching and squeezing and clawing at the fabric that hid what he really wanted. All the while, his soft mouth moved against yours, urgency and desperation in his kiss.
You wondered how long he had desired this for. How long had the Prince laid in bed, thinking of having you like this while you simply had no clue. Had it been weeks? A month? The entire time you’d been here?
That thought alone had wetness pooling between your legs, the excitement of knowing a Prince desired you turning you on like no other.
Eagerly, you allowed Jacaerys to pull away in order to pull your dress down, the flimsy cotton easily giving away to his harsh pulling.
It wasn’t like you were a lady, so no corset or small clothes masked your body. Instead, your breasts sprang free the moment the fabric was pulled down, and Jace licked his lips hungrily as he dipped down.
“Oh!”
He started by taking one of your nipples into his mouth, and sucking like a babe desperate for milk. His soft lips wrapped around the bud until he was satisfied with the mark left on your skin, and the gasps that left your lips
Then, the prince carried on.
He kissed eagerly down your body, pulling and ripping at the fabric without a care in a world. Never mind that this was the only ‘nice’ dress you could afford, neither you or Jacaerys cared.
Your body was too busy reacting to the feel of his lips, jolting whenever he kissed a sensitive spot on your belly. The further down he got, the more it seemed like the pleasure and sensitivity increased.
Finally, the Prince managed to wiggle your dress completely off and you blushed as you were exposed.
Never before had you revealed yourself to a man, and Jacaerys’ reaction did not disappoint.
His amber eyes lit up as he spread your legs, using one hand to keep you from covering yourself. You were a bit shy about being on display in front of him, but Jacaerys shook his head every time you tried to curl away.
“Do not hide from your Prince, dragonseed,” He said firmly, running a finger over your most intimate parts. “That is an order.”
Fire licked at your body as the Prince smirked, liking the way you obediently nodded your head at him and moaned when he touched your cunt.
It was cute and painfully obvious at just how inexperienced you were. You whimpered nearly every time Jace’s finger teased you, gathering your wetness on his fingers and seeing how you reacted.
Every time you panted out his name, looking at him through your eyelashes, he swore he was going to make a mess in his pants.
The ache was nearly killing him, and he desired to feel some type of relief before he took you.
You looked at him, confused when the Prince pulled you up and made you get off the bed.
Naked and shy, you stood before him with your arms wrapped around your gorgeous body, unsure what to do until the Prince approached you and said,
“Get on your knees, bastard.”
You gasped at the foul name that had left his lips, not expecting him to be so…bold. His own status seemed to be forgotten in his mind, and his dark eyes peered down at you smugly as you did what he wished.
Shaking, you kneeled down in front of him and whimpered when Jace took ahold of you cheeks, squeezing them before lightly before pressing a kiss to your forehead.
When he got back up again, you could see him fumbling with the belt of his tunic, loosening it before stripping altogether.
The Prince stood before you, naked and aroused and you had never felt so unworthy of seeing such a beautiful sight. Your mouth drooled, your cunt throbbing at the idea of his pretty cock being inside of you.
“Open your mouth.”
Immediately, you did as he commanded though you weren’t sure why. You thought coupling was done a different way, but you were shocked when Prince Jacaerys rubbed the tip of his cock against your lips.
He teased you for a little bit, shoving the tip inside of your mouth before taking it out. He loved seeing the way you gasped lightly, obviously not used to this.
This foreign act had your heart hammering in your chest, no clue what to do as the Prince eased his cock in your mouth.
He went slow at first, giving you time to adjust to the new sensation but that didn’t mean he was all that nice. Once he felt the way your lips wrapped around him, so soft and so unsure, he couldn’t help but to thrust deeper, chuckling slightly as you mewled.
He grabbed your hair, and it took everything inside of you not to pull away as his cock slipped down your throat.
You gagged as his tip triggered your reflex. Almost instinctly, your hands came to grab his hips so you’d get better control, sniffling when his cock finally settled all the way in. You could taste his preseed combining with your own spit, making it easier to suck him off.
Though you were a novice at sucking cock—and he could tell—Jace still tried to guide you as best as he could. He used your hair as a way of telling you how you were doing. He squeezed to the point where you cried out if you did something wrong, and he stroked it lovingly if you did it right.
He loved seeing the way that you gagged, you cheeks puffed and wet with tears. In his mind, there was no better position for a bastard like yourself than on your knees, taking your Princes’ cock just the way he commanded.
It made Jace feel powerful to see you cry, obviously struggling but unwilling to disobey your beautiful Prince.
By the time he pulled out, your throat was raw and Jacaerys was on the brink of his peak. Surprisingly though, he held back, giving you moment to breathe before helping you up.
You had just barely caught your breath before the Prince’s lips were on yours again, and you melted into the kiss and tried to hold him tight.
The Prince allowed it, liking how desperate you were to feel him. Of course, it was your naïvety that lead you to act this way, the need to be held by the man who would be your first strong.
You were happy enough when Jace set you down on the bed again. This time, he wasn’t so mean to you as he laid down, grinning as he guided your hips towards him.
It was safe to say that you were confused all over again when he lined your cunt up to his mouth, not to mention, horrified.
“Jacaerys, I’ll…I’ll smuggle you,” You panicked as he grabbed your ass and guided you down, but the only response you got from the Prince was a chuckle.
It sent rippling vibrations against your cunt, making you gasp. You trembled as Jace’s tongue darted out to taste you, crying out as the Prince sucked on a spot you never even knew existed before.
The sheer amount ecstasy that filled your body couldn’t be described, only cherished as Jacaerys got to work.
He lapped at your cunt, making sure to pay attention to your pearl. He loved the way you squirmed as he did, out of breath and desperate as you rode his face.
Your previous worries about possibly suffocating him went away as the pleasure distracted you from caring. You grinded your cunt against the Prince’s sharp nose without a care in the world. Eagerly taking his mouth, and greedily chasing the sensation that was beginning to build in your belly.
It had your legs shaking and your frustrations at an all time high when Jacaerys suddenly pulled away.
He pushed you from his mouth and licked his lips, ignoring the way you whined and reached from him.
Gentle yet firmly, he wrapped an arm around you and flipped you in your back. Now, Jacaerys hovered over you with a hungry look in his amber eyes, smirking lightly as he saw the eager look on your face.
You must have known what was coming as he rubbed his aching tip along your folds, feeling that you were now well prepared enough for him to fuck you. It was with this thought that the Prince finally pushed in, keeping your hips steady and groaning as he sank in.
Instantly, you screwed your eyes shut as he pushed through your barriers. Jacaerys had no clue, no idea that a woman could have been this tight. You seemed to squeeze the very life out of him which threatened to made the Prince cum faster than he wanted to.
In order to savor it, he went slow and you were grateful for it. The pressure between your legs only seemed to grow the more that he pushed in, and finally Jacaerys was forced to acknowledge your maidenhood as you cried out.
He felt something break inside of you as you did, and when he looked down, he cursed at the redness that coated his cock.
“You’re a maiden?” He asked softly, looking more guilty than he ever had as a small yet subtle tear ran down your cheek.
You nodded, your cunt throbbing as you squeezed him desperately.
“Y-Yes,” You sniffled a slight pain spread through your body, wigging to alleviate some of the discomfort. “I’ve never even kissed a man before you, my Prince. I swear!”
Jacaerys moaned as he sunk further inside of you. Kissing both of your cheeks as if to soothe you, and allowing you to bury your sweet face into his neck as he held you. “Gods, how is this even possible? How can a mongrel like your father sire someone so perfect?”
You did not have an answer to that, too caught up in the feeling of being fucked for the first time to respond.
In the beginning, Jacaerys took it slow, letting you adjust to him whilst he peppered your neck with kisses and brushed any tears away. He let you decide when he moved, and once the sting in your lower regions faded away you gave him the okay to do so.
Slowly, he pulled out of you only to sink back in. You whimpered as Jacaerys filled you to the hilt, wrapping your legs around his back to keep him there and capturing his mouth.
As you kissed, you suddenly felt emotions overcome you like never before. Lust, passion, love—it was all too much. It made your head spin in the best ways possible, loving the way Jacaerys used your body, loving the way he fucked you.
It got better the more you began to relax, and eventually your cunt didn’t strain as much to take him. In fact, all of the wetness between your legs allowed Prince Jacaerys to slide in and out with ease, fucking you balls deep every time so that you could feel every thrust. Savor every vein and every inch of his delicious cock.
It had you moaning pathetically and tugging at his hair. Just like you predicted, it was soft underneath your fingertips; silky. The smell of his body and his gorgeous locks could be traced back to the oils he had used this morning, and his scent was just as intoxicating for you as yours was for him.
“Fuck. Tell your Prince how good his cock feels inside of you. Tell me,” Jacaerys demanded. You cried out as he pounded into you harder, feeling him repeatedly hit a spot inside of you that you didn’t even know existed.
It sent jolts of pleasure through your belly, making you squirm and cry out underneath him.
“It feels…it feels amazing! Gods, Jacaerys!” His lips captured yours in a bruising kiss, the sound of the bed creaking as he fucked you echoing through his room.
You held on for dear life, trying to chase that slow building, euphoric feeling in your belly. You weren’t sure what it was, but it had you seeing the stars the moment the tension snapped, wrapping you in a pleasure so hot it momentarily made your body go weak.
Soon enough, Jacaerys’ pace began to grow sloppy, and his hips stilled as he cursed. With the feeling of you cumming and squeezing around him, he couldn’t have lasted longer if he tried. Warm seed spilled inside of you as he also reached his high, muttering incoherent words as he fucked it into you.
You could feel it coating your walls, thick and heavy. It surprised you that he was so careless about finishing inside of you.
After all, he was admednet that all dragonseeds were nothing but bastards and mongrels. Unworthy of his sacred inheritance and bloodline, but now there was a possibility that he could have sired one of his own.
When he rolled off of you, you were afraid that he would kick you out and simply order a Maester to bring you tea. Never to speak of this again, never to hold you again.
Tears pricked your eyes at just the thought of being cast aside so easily, your heart aching. You sniffled as you watched him pull his trousers up, but to your surprise, he did not kick you out.
Still breathing heavily, the Prince poked his head out of the door and called for a maid to clean you up instead. When your dazed and slightly confused eyes met his, he merely smirked.
“I don’t intend to shun you, Y/N, only take reparations. You and your father have my dragons and now I have your maidenhead. I do believe it has been a fair exchange, ānogar hen issa ānogar. Don’t you agree?”
You were too distracted by his lips to respond, but even if you had, you would’ve agreed.
You had a dragon, and now you had the Prince. If that wasn’t enough to keep you satisfied and loyal, then the babe that grew belly certainly would.
Jacaerys thought about this as he pulled away. Quickly, his lips attached themselves to your cheeks, then your neck, and then playfully around your body. When you giggled at the ticklish sensation, pure joy filling your veins, he couldn’t stop himself from smiling as well.
I hope you’re proud, mother. The seeds of loyalty have been sowed tonight indeed.

cw. hockey player!sukuna, college au, reader just became the team manager and doesn't know how to ice skate. shiu + satoru are also on the team. reader & sukuna do Not like each other. sfw, 1.5k words.
you hear the sound of the gym door slamming closed at the very same moment your butt hits the ice. again.
your head whips around towards the door, wondering who else would come to the campus ice rink during winter break. everyone should be home, enjoying time with their families, or at least time away from school.
sukuna stands at the entrance, a duffle bag hanging over his right shoulder and two hockey sticks in his left hand. he just looks at you for a moment, his hostile expression heating your face. you catch the subtle curl of his upper lip and roll your eyes, turning back around and lifting yourself off the ground. you’re close enough to steady yourself on the ledge of the boards before you lose balance again.
you hear sukuna's footsteps echo in the empty gym, the keys clipped to his duffle bag rattling loudly. the sound stops abruptly once he's close enough to analyze you through the shielding.
"what are you doing in my rink?"
cool, cool, cool, cool. as if your sworn enemy walking in on you wet and cold and exhausted wasn't bad enough, he's gonna be a total dick about it too. (to be expected honestly.)
you shrug, still holding onto the ledge. "i can't be helpful to a hockey team if i can't ice skate."
sukuna sneers, muttering something you don't care to hear before heading off towards the locker rooms.
you know sukuna never wanted you to get hired on as team manager in the first place. unfortunately for him, the captain doesn’t get to veto the decision of the coach, who offered you the job the day after your interview.
it's not even your fault. shiu and satoru are the ones who schemed and plotted for you to become their manager anyway. they encouraged you to go in for the interview even though you hadn’t even applied. (at least, you thought you hadn’t. turns out shiu submitted an application in your name while borrowing your laptop. you suspect him and satoru also “encouraged” their coach to pick you out of the dozens of other students who had applied.)
you manage to fall three more times before sukuna comes out of the locker room dressed in his practice gear. he sits down on the bench where you’d abandoned your things to put on his skates and you sigh, preparing to scoot out of the rink.
when he steps on the ice and glides towards you, you aren’t expecting him to hold his hands out for you to grab. he yanks you up with too much force and you nearly tumble again. your cheek meets his chest, face smushed up against him while your hands are still in his. he lets go, instead grabbing you by your upper arms and forcing you upright.
“bend your knees,” he says, voice steely.
you just blink, stunned that he’s not carrying you off the ice and demanding you go home. it takes you too long, but you bend your knees slightly and look up at sukuna, silently waiting for more instruction.
“stop trying to walk on the ice. this isn’t walking, it’s skating. march.”
sukuna spends the next three hours teaching you the basics of ice skating. you fall some more, but it hurts less after he tells you to fall on your side and stop flailing. he reprimands you for always staying within arms reach of the wall, something about it stunting the learning process or whatever. you don’t touch any of the ledges again, your arms mostly staying extended out in front of you. his directions are harsh, but by the time it’s dark outside you’ve managed to skate your way around the perimeter of the rink nearly a dozen times without falling.
you almost squeal with joy after the tenth loop, opting instead to raise your arms in the air and smile wide. sukuna just nods once, arms crossed over his broad chest.
“okay, you’re good for now. buy a new pair of skates, it’ll be easier on sharper blades. those rentals suck. and you didn’t tie them right.” his tone is no different than it was when he first entered the building, as if talking to you is a chore he has to get out of the way. maybe a couple years ago it would’ve made you shrink, but now it just pisses you off more than anything.
you nod slowly, making a mental note to ask satoru where you should buy skates from (and wondering if you can convince him to buy them for you). sukuna makes a dramatic sweeping motion with both his arms, gesturing towards the exit.
“can i have my rink back now?” he asks, arms still outstretched.
you roll your eyes but don’t argue, his reward for successfully teaching you how to skate. you even mutter a thank you as you glide past him, but he just waves you away.
he starts to set up for drills as you untie your borrowed skates, dropping little orange cones on the ice in some intricate zig zag pattern. you watch him for a moment before your phone rings, vibrating the entire bench.
a picture of you and satoru lights up the screen, his name dancing across the top. sukuna gives you a pointed glare when you answer it without making any move to leave.
“hi ‘toru.”
he greets you excitedly from the other end. “we’ve been texting you all day,” he whines, probably referring to him and shiu. “where’ve you been?”
you smile. “i, uh, came back to school early. the thought of managing a hockey team while not being able to skate was actually haunting me, so i came to practice a little.”
satoru fusses about how you should have told him and that he would have come back to teach you in a heartbeat, but you just brush him off.
“i didn’t need you. i made it around the rink ten times in a row without falling. i’m basically a pro now.” your voice drips with pride and you’re sure satoru can hear your grin.
“oh yeah? who taught you how to do that?”
it only takes you two seconds to decide you do not want him to know about your impromptu skating lesson with his captain. satoru already knows all the unsavory details about your previous spats with sukuna, and you know he’d tell shiu immediately, who would be quick to interrogate you about it. he'd probably tease sukuna about it too, which would probably make the man hate you more. you wouldn't even blame him. shiu's teasing can be incessant.
“nobody did. i taught myself,” you say.
you swear you see sukuna stiffen out on the ice, and when he turns to face you the look on his face can only be described as malicious. it’s enough to make you immediately gather your things and rush out of the building. you feel his eyes crawling over you all the way from the bench to the double doors.
a blast of icy wind shocks your system when you step outside. satoru’s talking, saying something about how he can be back on campus by tomorrow night, and how he can probably get shiu to come with. you want to tell him that he doesn’t have to come back early just because you did, but the look on sukuna’s face still has you a little rattled.
not for the first time, dread slithers its way up from your gut. shiu was the one who ultimately convinced you that becoming the manager for the hockey team would be a good idea. good for your resume, good for the team, a good way to get to hang out more often. at the time, you thought he was right. he’s not really wrong now, but you worry that you and the captain’s mutual dislike for each other will get in the way.
satoru says your name, and the way he says it sounds like he’s been repeating it for a while.
“yeah hey, sorry i’m here.”
“you okay?” he asks.
“yeah, yeah, i’m good.” the walk from the ice rink to the parking lot is unnecessarily long, something you’ve heard satoru complain about many, many times. “i’m just walking to my car. it’s so fucking cold. there’s no reason for the parking lot to be this far away.”
“ugh, i know,” satoru huffs. he asks again if you want him to come up early. you say yes.
the two of you hang up when you make it to your car. your phone vibrates with a text from shiu a couple minutes later. you’re still sitting there in the parking lot, blasting the heat and trying to figure out how to make the next few months of school bearable.
maybe sukuna will suddenly transfer schools in the middle of the semester. or do something that gets him benched for the rest of the season. or get hit by a car. yeah. any of those would be good.
you can only hope.
a/n. this is part of a kinda larger enemies-to-lovers thing i'm building and i just wanted to get this off my chest. i hope it still made sense with minimal context (..◜ᴗ◝..)

Request: Being dragonseed and getting close to jace during the trainings. Maybe she claimed silverwing or vermithor? She goes to battle while he is not there and jace is STRESSED
Request: Jace sneaking out to check on the girl he secretly loves
my taglists are here + you can send requests here at any time
—
When Jacaerys took it upon himself to teach and train the dragonseeds, he didn’t think his loyalty to his betrothed would be challenged. Since the beginning of war, his bond with Baela became stronger and they got closer, but as he watched you atop Silverwing, hair in the wind and soaring over the water, he felt things he never felt before.
Was it the blood of the dragon, although thin, that was calling to him? Or was it the sight of a woman on a large dragon? Jacaerys couldn’t tell. What he knew was that he never felt that way when Baela was riding Moondancer.
‘’What do you mean, she went to the Riverlands?’’ he shouted at his mother, all manners forgotten.
Rhaenyra met his glare with a calm gaze. ‘’The Greens are marching up to Harrenhal. I sent her to meet their army before they reach the Riverlands.’’
‘’And what of Vhagar?’’ Jacaerys continued, his voice rising as he thought of the beast that had devoured his little brother and his dragon in a single bite. ‘’They know Daemon has taken Harrenhal. Undoubtedly, they brought their biggest dragon to fight him.’’
Rhaenyra hummed thoughtfully. ‘’It is a high possibility, but Silverwing is a large dragon, as you said yourself. Y/N will handle Vhagar if Aemond dares showing up.’’
‘’She is not ready to go to battle.’’ Jacaerys’s fists clenched at his sides, making up the worst scenarios in his mind. ‘’You sent her to her death!’’
‘’I needed to send a dragon. It was Silverwing or Vermithor.’’
‘’Why did you not send Vermithor?’’
‘’Because I didn’t want to reveal our biggest asset to the enemy,’’ Rhaenyra said, her brow furrowing as she noticed her son’s agitation. ‘’Why are you so agitated? The dragonseeds were your idea, Jace. We have to send them on the battlefield at some point.’’
The reasons the search for dragonseeds began was to get more dragons on their team, but also to not risk their own in battle by using those with blood 'thinner' than their own as fodder. It was selfish and evil, but losses are inevitable during a war. Better be a stranger than someone you love.
But now, his plan had backfired.
‘’She’s not just a dragonseed!’’ Jacaerys snapped, his eyes blazing with anger and worry. ‘’She’s—’’ He stopped himself, realizing how much he had revealed in his fury and the implication of what he was about to say.
Rhaenyra spoke his name softly, finally figuring the nature of her son’s worries, but he turned away, unable to look his mother in the eye.
⁂
When night came, Jacaerys was unable to sleep, tossing and turning in his bed. All he could think about was you fighting against Vhagar…and losing.
If you didn’t return from the Riverlands, he would never forgive himself for encouraging you to claim Silverwing.
Finally, Jacaerys could not take it anymore. He sprung out of his bed, changed into his riding clothes and slipped on a cloak. Quietly, he sneaked out of his quarters and started heading towards the hills where he knew Vermax liked to sleep. Rhaenyra would be furious in the morning when finding out he went to the Riverlands without her approval, but he needed to go to you.
‘’Lyka (quiet), Vermax,’’ Jacaerys said as he mounted the dragon, not wishing to alert anyone of his nightly adventure. The poor thing was whining and confused why his rider was waking him, but obeyed his command.
They set out into the night, flying towards the northwest. The wind was cold, biting through Jacaerys' cloak, and the darkness was absolute with no moon to guide their way. The only sound was the rhythmic beating of Vermax's wings, cutting through the icy air.
After what felt like hours of flying blindly in the night, Vermax began to screech, a high-pitched, urgent sound that pierced the silence.
‘’Sagon gīda (be calm), Vermax,’’ Jacaerys commanded, trying to calm his dragon. But Vermax continued screeching, his eyes darting around as if he had seen something human eyes couldn’t. ‘’What is it, Vermax?’’
Vermax's screeches grew louder, more insistent, and Jacaerys felt a surge of unease. He strained his eyes, peering into the inky blackness, but saw nothing. He knew that dragons had senses far keener than humans, capable of detecting things long before they were visible.
‘’What do you see?” he muttered, more to himself than to Vermax, as he tried to understand his dragon’s distress.
Vermax couldn't understand the common tongue, but his behavior made it clear that something was wrong. He twisted his head, sniffing the air, and let out another screech, this one more urgent and filled with warning.
Jacaerys suddenly realized what it could mean: Vermax had detected the scent of another dragon.
His heart pounded in his chest as he tightened his grip on the reins, scanning the dark skies for any sign of movement. The thought of encountering Vhagar in the pitch-black night sent a shiver down his spine. He tightened his grip on the handles, trying to steady both his dragon and himself.
Then, through the darkness, he saw a faint, silvery glimmer. Realization struck him hard.
‘’Silverwing,’’ he breathed, understanding now what Vermax had sensed.
Immediately, Jacaerys commanded Vermax to descend. He didn’t know where he was, but he knew that he had not reached the Riverlands yet. If Silverwing was down here, it could mean you were injured. Dragons were known to stay by their rider's side and guard them when they were vulnerable — or dying.
The prince's heart raced as they descended, his mind filled with worry. As soon as Vermax touched ground, he dismounted and scanned the area frantically, searching for you.
Silverwing screeched loudly when Jacaerys got close, the sound stirring you from your sleep and snapping into alert. You reached for your dagger sheated at your hip, ready to stab whoever would try to get close.
‘’It’s me,’’ Jacaerys quickly said before you could touch him.
‘’Prince Jacaerys?’’ you said with a frown. ‘’Has Her Grace sent you looking for me?’’
Jacaerys stayed silent. His mother did not care much for you — or any of the dragonseeds.
The sight of blood on your hands sent his heart into a frenzy. ‘’Are you hurt? What has happened?’’
He kneeled beside you, and you let out a small hiss. ‘’I'm not on my deathbed, my Prince,’’ you reassured. ‘’I saw the Green's army marching to the Riverlands. They were definitely surprised to see a new dragon had been claimed by the Blacks. I engaged in battle, burning several of them, but their archers started shooting arrows at us. Silverwing dodged them the best she could, but I received one in my leg…’’ You glanced down where the arrow used to be, blood seeping through your clothes and down your leg. ‘’I know I should not have taken it out, but the pain was too much.’’
‘’It’s okay.’’ Jacaerys drew his sword to cut a piece of his cloak to make a bandage for your leg. ‘’All that matters is that you’re alive.’’ He began wrapping the piece of his cloak tightly around your wounded leg, but not so tight it would cause you more pain. ‘’I…I was worried about you.’’
You raised an eyebrow at the prince. ‘’Me?’’
He looked at you for a moment, his gaze flickering between your face and your wounded leg. ‘’Don't do that again. Going alone in a battle. What is Vhagar had been there?’’
‘’Why? Because I’m a woman?’’
‘’No.’’ Jacaerys shook his head. ‘’No, that’s not— When I didn’t see you at training this morning, I thought you were in the village helping your parents with the sheeps. But Baela informed me that you had been sent to the Riverlands at first light to meet the Greens and all I could think about was Rook’s Rest. What Vhagar did to Luke, and Rhaenys… Gods, if you were the next to fall, I would not handle it.’’
You huffed, not believing him. ‘’Aren’t I just a paw in your mother’s war? I’m not stupid, my Prince. Dragonseeds don’t matter to Her Grace. She just want the power of our dragons.’’
‘’I care. I care about you. I care so much about you that I could not sleep without knowing if you were okay. I would not have taken flight in the middle of the night if I didn’t care about you.’’
His words hung in the dark night, the air filled with his confession. Your heart stuttered in your chest as you processed his sudden confession. This conversation felt like forbidden territory. You were a shepherd’s daughter and he was a highborn prince, betrothed to a princess.
‘’You…you shouldn’t say things like that,’’ you finally murmured, averting your eyes from the intensity of his gaze. You tried to hide the fact that his words made you feel things you shouldn’t.
Jacaerys took a deep breath, then slowly reached out to tilt your chin, his fingertips gently tracing over your skin. ‘’I should, because it’s how I feel.’’ He leaned closer. His fingers grazed your cheek, his touch sending shivers down your spine.
‘’What of Baela?’’ you managed to ask, your heart beating wildly in your chest, torn between desire and loyalty.
He shook his head, his gaze locked with yours. ‘’I don’t feel strongly for Baela the way I do for you,’’ he confessed.

Pitfighter! Vi X Reader: You are the only exception
Warnings: smut, no use of y/n, oral (f receiving),fingering , Vi being a meanie (just a little), fluff, not proofread.
Word count: 2,4K
A/n: Might do a pt 2 (if y'all want it 🤷♀️)
You never expected that talking to Vi that one night would have made you end up here.
Vi’s face is buried between your legs, pulling a sigh from your lips. Your hands grip at the cardboard beneath you body, desperately trying to stop yourself from bucking into her face. You can feel the strong muscles of her shoulders clench as she doubles down on her movements, making a moan rip from your mouth. Vi smirks against your cunt, one hand caressing your thigh as the other continues to put pressure on your hips.
Loris had told you Vi’s fight tonight had been harder than usual and that he was worried she’d do something stupid.
“Why don’t you go check on her then?”
“I tried. She told me to fuck off.”
You chuckled, shaking your head.
“She’ll listen if you go. She’s got a soft spot for you.”
That was true. You didn’t know why but Vi seemed to take your advice quite seriously. You’d met her a couple of weeks ago. You were dancing at one of the bars when she stumbled in, completely shitfaced. She’d bumped into you, causing you to spill your drink all over yourself. Most people would have taken one look at Vi and let it go. But not you.
Oh no, not you.
You marched right up to her, tapping her on her leather clad shoulder. She turned to face you, eyes falling on your angered expression.
“You owe me a drink.”
Vi sighed, hand moving to rub at her eyes. She just wanted a quiet night out.
“Do I know you?”
The annoyance was clear in her tone but you didn’t back down.
“No you don’t. But that didn’t stop you from crashing into me like some drunken sailor.”
Vi couldn’t help but smirk. You were feisty for your size. People normally went the other way when they saw her coming but not you. You walked your cute butt right in her direction. She couldn’t help but be amused. Vi turned to the bartender ordering a glass of her favorite beer, before turning to face you again.
“What you having princess?”
From that night on you became a constant in Vi’s life. You went to all her fights, intensely shouting the whole time as she ploughed through her opponents. When she won you would take her out for a drink, oftentimes dragging her to the dance floor with you. She didn’t really care for dancing but she made the sacrifice for you. When she lost you were the one you would drag her back to her bed, ignoring her mumbles and aggravated words. She’d tell you to fuck off and you tell her to go fuck herself right back. Not many people could handle Vi the way you did and even if she didn’t say it she was grateful for you.
You had told Lois you’d check on the pink haired girl. He’d given you a grateful look and warned you that she would probably be wound up because of her last fight. He had been right. The second you stepped into her room you could feel the tension in the air. The place was filled with the sound of Vi hitting her punching bag with all her might. You walked in, taking a glance at the broken mirror before moving to sit down on her makeshift bed. You picked at your nails as you waited for Vi to finish ragging.
“I already told Loris to fuck off.”
“Well I'm not Loris am i?”
You gave Vi a girn which she didn’t return. She gave the bag one last good punch before letting out a defeated sigh.
“Come here.”
“Princess i’m really not-”
“Violet come here.”
Vi raised her head to look up at you. Your tone was commanding but she knew you meant nothing by it. You just wanted her to shut up and let you help her out. She sighed, dragging her feet on the floor as she walked over to you. You moved so that she could sit next to you.
“You wanna tell me what’s up or…”
“I don’t want to talk about it.”
You frowned slightly at her dismissive tone but you knew to respect her wishes. There was a lot about Vi you didn’t know about. You hadn’t known her for a long time but even so you’d grown attached to her fairly quickly. That didn't mean she told you everything but something about the way she behaved told you she’d been hurt a lot during her life. You wanted to be there for her. A shoulder to lean on when things got hard. Vi turned to face you, her eyes meeting yours. She placed a hand on your cheek.
“Distract me princess?”
“Sure Vi.”
Vi moved to sit down on the floor in front of you. You knew exactly what she wanted. You widen your legs, allowing her to slot her body against you. Your hands went to her hair, caressing her locks. Vi sighed as your hands massaged her scalp. She didn’t know how you did it but this always managed to remove all the tension in her body. It was such a simple act but it helped wonders. Your hands began to become stained with black as you continued your caress. It’s not like you minded though. You would just wash the grime off when you finished up. Vi sighed, her head moving to rest on your thigh. Your eyes fidgeted to the tattoo on the back of her neck. You always wondered if it had hurt a lot. You thought of asking Vi but something caught your attention. Vi’s lips were close to your thigh. She wasn’t doing anything, but the thought of her lips on your skin made you shiver. The truth was that you had a thing for Vi. The night you’d met you had expected to hate her but you’d been surprised. You had a crush on Vi and no intention of telling her.
Until now that is.
Vi felt your muscles become rigid for a moment. She could feel your fingers tense against her hair, causing her to raise her head. She turned to look at you. You stared down at her, your heart beating faster at the sight of her between your legs. Vi put a hand on your leg which didn’t help at all.
“Everything ok princess?”
Gosh she sounded so hot, her voice scratching against her throat due to all the screaming she’d done hours prior. Your face flushed, your body raising abruptly to stand. The action caused Vi’s face to be directly in front of your crotch and you almost fainted. The pink haired girl cocked her head to the side, brows furring at your odd behavior. She opened her mouth to speak but paused when her eyes caught onto something. There was a wet patch on your pants. It was barely there and the fabric of your shorts hid it well but the angle she was looking up at you made it very clear. Vi’s mouth went dry for a moment.
After everything that had happened with Caitlyn she had stopped thinking about a lot of things. Sex wasn’t something that was on her mind a lot. She’d hardly get horny lately but the realisation that you were standing in her room, your wet cunt inches from her face made something snap inside her.
You hadn't registered that Vi knew what was happening, far too focused on slowing your heartbeat to notice the gears turning in Vi’s head. You felt her hand wrap around your thigh, making your head snapp down to look at her. Vi’s pupils were incredibly dilated, she licked her bottom lip absentmindedly, not knowing how the action affected you.
“Need a little help with this?”
She nodded her head at your crotch and you swore you could die of embarrassment. You unlatched yourself from her grip stumbling against her bed as you tried to move away from her.
“I’m sorry I didn't mean to. You were so close and I just started thinking about the feeling of…”
Vi rose from the floor, watching as you struggled to make full sentences. She’d never seen you this flushed before, you were usually very confident around her. The thought that she could manage to make you this flustered thrilled her more than she had anticipated.
“Hey.”
Vi’s voice made you look up from the floor, eyes moving against her features. She placed her hand on your cheek, slowly inching herself closer to you. Her knee slipped between your legs and you let out a whine. Vi smiled, her face mere inches from yours.
“Nothing to be ashamed of, princess.”
She moved her leg up putting more pressure against your pussy. Your hand latched onto her shoulder, nails digging into the muscles as you gasped.
“So. Do you want my help or not?”
“You don’t have to.”
“I know.”
You could feel Vi’s breath against your lips as she spoke.
“I want to.”
You couldn’t take this anymore. Your body launched forward, lips crashing into Vi’s in a desperate kiss. You bit into her lip causing her to groan against your mouth. Vi grabbed at your hips, tugging you up. You wrapped your legs around her waist. She placed a hand on the back of your waist as the other moved to give your ass a squeeze. You gasped against her lips, allowing her to slip her tongue inside your mouth. Her boots clanged against the floor as she walks both of you over to her makeshift bed. She sinks down to her knees, placing you down on the edge of the bed as she continues to attack your mouth. You let out a content sigh as she moved to kiss your neck.
“Vi i…”
“Yeah?”
She hasn’t even touched you yet and your voice already sounds so fucked out. It makes pride swell into her chest. Your hands grip at her locks tugging them slightly. She detaches her lips from your collarbone at the action, blue eyes gazing up at you.
“You gonna keep teasing or are you gonna help me out?”
“Bossy.”
“You know you love it.”
Vi smiles, nipping at your bottom lip for a moment before answering.
“I really do.”
The confession makes you blush and Vi thinks it’s the cutest thing ever. Her hands move to your waist, tugging at the hem of your shorts. You lift your hips up, allowing her to pull them down your legs. She runs her finger against your clothes cunt, making you buck your hips up. She leans down to kiss your stomach, slowly inching herself lower. Her hand pushes against your stomach, silently telling you to lean back. You do as she asks laying on the bed beneath you. Vi’s hand latch onto your underwear, giving the waistband a small slap against your skin before begging to tug them off. Vi’s brain almost shortcuts at the sight of your bare pussy before her. You’re so incredibly wet for her that it takes her a moment to recover cognitive function.
“Vi.”
Her name escapes your lips in a throaty whine, causing her to look up at your face.
“Please.”
You are begging for her to give you some release. Begging for her to fuck you stupid with her tongue. And by god if that doesn’t make her horny.
She tugs your legs over her shoulder, shifting herself in a more comfortable position before leaning down to give a lick to your slit. Your reaction is immediate. Your hands latch onto her hair, hips bucking as you chase the feeling of her tongue. The soft whine that escapes your lips makes Vi’s heart pound. She dragged her tongue against your clit, giving it a rough suck before continuing to lapp at your folds. One of her hands moves from its position on your hips, moving up to grab at your tits. Her thumb moves over your clothed breasts, caressing them. But it’s not enough, you want to feel her skin against yours.
Your hips shift slightly as you force yourself to sit up. Vi glances at you curiously for a moment, trying to understand what you're doing. You grab the hem of your shirt tugging it over your head. Vi’s eyes widen as your bare chest is revealed to her. Before she can help it one of her hands wrapped around your breast giving it a squeeze. You let out a loud moan, causing Vi to look at your face. Your eyes are shut, lips slightly parted in pleasure.
“Hey.”
Your eyes open at Vi’s voice, head moving to look down at the girl.
“Eyes on me princess. I want to see you.”
You give her a small smile, shifting back to lean on your elbows. Vi gives you a pleased smile before moving her focus back to your pussy. You try all your might to keep your eyes on Vi as she eats you out but it’s quite the challenge. Vi can tell you're getting close by the way your legs begin to shake around her head. It causes her to move her hand, fingers moving to help her tongue as she brings you to your peak. Your walls clench around her digits as you coat her face in your cum. Your elbows give out as your orgasm washes over you, causing you to fall onto the bed.
“That's it, let it out princess.”
Vi helps you through it, lips moving to give kisses to your thighs as she carefully removes her fingers from inside you. You let out a moan at the sudden emptiness. Vi moves off the floor, climbing up into the bed beside you. She lays on her back, gazing up at the ceiling. You shift closer to her, legs entangeling with hers as you rest your head on her chest. Vi places a small kiss to your temple.
“I had no idea.”
You look up at her.
“About what?”
“That you were attracted to me.”
You let out a small laugh.
“Vi i’ve had a thing for you since that first night at the bar.”
“Oh really?”
You bite your lip, a mischievous look taking over your features. You sit up, shifting until your body is straddling Vi’s hips. She smiles up at you, her hands moving to grip your waist.
“What are you doing?”
“Showing you just how much I like you.”

♡ a/n — for my new childhood friends to lovers series :)
♡ word count — 2.3k
♡ content — karasu tabito x fem! reader, fem! reader, childhood friends to lovers, reader is very normal and quiet, goes through 3rd grade to the U-20 vs Blue Lock game, reader doesn't understand soccer, cuddling, kissing, some cussing
♡ synopsis — Karasu Tabito has always been moved by the ordinary things in life. Your love, your laugh, just you, so ordinary because you just...fit in his life so perfectly.

Tabito Karasu had always been moved by ordinary things. The way rain left trails on windows, the sound of soccer cleats tapping against pavement, the smell of freshly cut grass on the field. Ordinary moments stayed with him long after they’d passed, as if they were somehow more precious than the extraordinary ones.
And then, there was you.
He noticed you before he ever talked to you, always quiet and off to the side, a book or sketchpad in your hands while the other kids played and shouted around you. You weren’t like the rest of them—you weren’t loud, flashy, or attention-seeking. To most, you might have seemed unremarkable.
But to Tabito, you were something special.
He just didn’t realize it until the day he saw you crying.
The afternoon sun was bright and unforgiving, casting sharp shadows on the concrete playground. Tabito was sitting on a bench, juggling a soccer ball between his feet, when he noticed the commotion.
A group of kids stood in a semi-circle around you, taunting you about being “too quiet” and “weird.” You didn’t say anything in return, but your teary eyes and the way you hugged your knees gave everything away.
Before he could think twice, Tabito was on his feet, marching over.
“Hey!” he barked, startling the group. He planted himself between you and them, his hands stuffed into his pockets as he glared them down. “Why don’t you piss off and leave her alone?”
The kids hesitated, their bravado faltering under his sharp gaze. Eventually, one muttered something under their breath before they all dispersed.
He turned back to you, his face softening. “You okay?”
You nodded but didn’t meet his eyes. “Thanks...”
He grinned, crouching beside you. “No problem. But you owe me big time. The teacher’s totally gonna yell at me for this one.”
Sure enough, he was called out for his language later, but he didn’t care. By then, the two of you had already cemented an unspoken bond.
From that day on, Tabito Karasu became your first—and only—friend.
By the time junior high rolled around, Tabito had become a name everyone knew. He was a rising soccer star, his talent and charisma drawing people to him like moths to a flame. But no matter how busy his life got, he always made time for you.
You, on the other hand, stayed much the same. You kept to yourself, stayed out of the spotlight, and quietly supported him from the sidelines. Every game he played, you were there, clapping and cheering along with the crowd—even if you didn’t fully understand the rules.
“You seriously don’t get it?” Tabito asked one evening, his breath visible in the crisp autumn air as the two of you walked home.
He had just finished explaining the mechanics of offside for the fifth time.
“I mean... I get that the ball should go in the net,” you said hesitantly. “But everything else is... kind of fuzzy.”
Tabito groaned dramatically, raking a hand through his hair. “It’s not that hard! Okay, think of it like chess—”
“Tabito, I don’t know how to play chess.”
He stopped dead in his tracks, staring at you with exaggerated disbelief. “You’re kidding me. You’ve been watching my games for years, and you don’t even know what’s happening?”
“I know you’re good,” you offered, laughing. “That’s all that matters, right?”
He sighed, shaking his head with a fond smile. “Hopeless. Absolutely hopeless.”
By high school, Tabito had become your anchor, and you had become his.
No matter how many people surrounded him or how many girls vied for his attention, he always found his way back to you. He walked you to your classes, saved you a spot at lunch, and invited you over to his house whenever your parents were working late.
One night, after a particularly heavy rainstorm, you ended up staying at his place again. His mom gave you a pillow and blanket for the floor in his room, but when you lay down, the hardwood felt unbearably cold.
“You seriously gonna sleep there?” Tabito asked from his bed, leaning over the edge to look at you.
“Where else would I sleep?”
He rolled his eyes. “Here. Come on.”
“Tabito, your mom said—”
“The floor’s freezing. Just get up here.”
You hesitated, but the warmth in his voice and the ease of his grin convinced you. Moments later, you were lying beside him, your head resting on his chest and his arm wrapped securely around your waist.
“This is too close,” you muttered, though you made no effort to move even though there was plenty of room on his bed.
“Shut up,” he replied, laughing softly.
After a long silence, you spoke again. “Someone asked me what my name was today. We’ve been going to school together since junior high, and they didn’t know my name.”
Tabito’s hand slipped under your shirt, his fingers tracing soothing circles on your back. “That’s their loss,” he murmured. “You’re unforgettable.”
You tilted your head to look up at him, your heart beating faster than it should have. “Tabito—”
Before you could ask what he meant, his lips were on yours.
When he pulled back, you opened your mouth to speak, but he cut you off, his voice low and steady.
“I don’t care what happened. I’d never forget your name.” He kissed you again. “Your face.” Another kiss. “Your goddamn voice.”
You stared at him, your cheeks burning, and he grinned. “You’re mine, okay? Have been for a while.”
The next morning, sunlight streamed through the window as Tabito’s mom opened the door. She froze, her eyes widening at the sight of the two of you curled up together in his bed.
“Tabito Karasu!”
Breakfast was... awkward. Over toast and eggs, you and Tabito sheepishly explained your newly minted relationship, only to be rewarded with an impromptu birds-and-the-bees talk.
Tabito groaned, hiding his face in his hands while you tried—and failed—not to laugh.
The letter came during your senior year.
You sat under a tree in the park, the letter in your lap as Tabito leaned back on his hands, staring up at the sky.
“This is it,” he said softly. “This is how I make it big.”
You nodded, swallowing the lump in your throat. “I’m proud of you.”
His grin faltered when he looked at you. “You don’t look proud.”
“I am,” you insisted, forcing a smile. “I just... I’ll miss you.”
“Hey,” he said, reaching over to take your hand. “It’s not forever. Just until I make it. Then I’m coming back for you.”
You knew he would, because when Karasu set his mind on something, he would get to it, no matter what it took.
You just wished that he wouldn't have to leave for an uncertain amount of time, but you wouldn't say that. He was still yours, always would be, no matter how long you were apart.
When Tabito left for Blue Lock, he packed light—just the essentials. But tucked carefully at the bottom of his bag was something that wasn’t on any checklist: a collection of your letters.
Some were filled with words of encouragement, like the time you’d written after his first big loss, telling him that failure didn’t define him and that he’d always be a winner in your eyes. Others were playful, teasing him about his ego while reminding him to eat properly and not slack off during training. And then there were the ones you wrote late at night, when the ache of missing him felt too heavy to ignore. Those letters carried lipstick marks on the edges, small imprints of your love pressed onto the paper as if they could somehow close the distance between you.
He read those letters often. Whenever the loneliness crept in or the pressure of Blue Lock’s brutal competition threatened to overwhelm him, he would pull one out, smoothing the creases and letting your words fill the silence. Your voice, even through ink and paper, was his anchor.
One day, during a rare quiet moment in the dorms, Otoya noticed one of the letters poking out of Tabito’s duffel bag. Curiosity piqued, he reached over and grabbed one, holding it up with a mischievous grin. “What’s this?”
Tabito, who had been lounging on his bed, immediately sat up. His sharp glare shot across the room like a warning. “Put it down, Otoya.”
But Otoya, ever the instigator, was already opening it. “Aw, come on, don’t be so uptight—” His eyes scanned the first few lines before he froze, his smirk widening. “Oh-ho, what’s this? A girlfriend?”
Tabito was on his feet in an instant, snatching the letter back with a scowl. “None of your business.”
Otoya leaned back, hands raised in mock surrender, but his laughter rang out, echoing in the small dorm room. “Didn’t think you had it in you, Karasu. You’ve got that whole ‘too cool for relationships’ vibe going on, but here you are, all sentimental. Lipstick marks, too? Damn, she’s really got you wrapped around her finger, huh?”
Tabito stuffed the letter into his bag, his jaw tight. He didn’t bother responding to the teasing; it wasn’t worth his energy. Instead, he turned his back to Otoya, muttering under his breath, “Shut up.”
But as Otoya’s laughter died down, Tabito’s fingers brushed the edges of the letter. He could feel the faint ridges of your handwriting beneath the paper, the weight of your love in every stroke of the pen.
A small smile tugged at his lips, one he didn’t let Otoya see.
Because Otoya was wrong about one thing: you didn’t have him wrapped around your finger. No, it was deeper than that. You were his lifeline, his reminder of everything waiting for him back home.
The teasing didn’t matter. The competition didn’t matter. What mattered was the thought of you—always cheering him on, always believing in him.
One day, he promised himself. One day, he’d read those letters with you sitting beside him, not miles apart. And when that day came, he’d show you just how much your words, your love, had carried him through.
For now, though, he folded the letter and placed it carefully back in his bag, ready to fight his way to that future.
Watching the Blue Lock team play against the U-20 team almost put you into an early grave, you swear, Blue Lock won, of course. ( You totally weren't praying on some of the U-20 team's downfall during the game...not at all)
The crowd’s roar was deafening, a wave of cheers and chants reverberating through the stadium. You stood on the sidelines, heart pounding as the Blue Lock team celebrated their hard-fought victory on the field.
You had come all this way to watch him, to see for yourself just how much he’d grown. And yet, even after all these years of supporting him, nothing had prepared you for this moment.
Your eyes darted across the players, searching, until—suddenly—you felt arms wrap tightly around your waist. Your feet left the ground as you were spun around, a loud gasp escaping your lips.
“Tabito!” you exclaimed, laughter bubbling out of you.
When he finally set you back down, you turned to see his grinning face, his hair damp with sweat and a few stray blades of grass stuck to his jersey. He looked different—stronger, sharper, more determined—but when his eyes met yours, the warmth in them hadn’t changed one bit.
“You did it!” you said, reaching out to touch his face as if to make sure he was real. “You actually did it.”
“Of course I did,” he replied, his tone cocky, but his grin softened when his hand came up to cup yours. “I told you I would, didn’t I?”
You nodded, tears welling in your eyes as pride swelled in your chest. But before you could say anything else, the words you’d been holding back for years tumbled out:
“Tabito, I finally got it today!”
He blinked, caught off guard. “Got what?”
“Soccer!” you blurted, your voice trembling with excitement. “I mean, okay, maybe not all of it, but at the kickoff, I just... I got it! I understood why you love it so much. I felt it. When the game started, I was so excited I almost screamed! And when you got close to the goal, I was on the edge of my seat. I wanted you to score so badly.”
His eyes widened in surprise before his expression melted into something softer, something that made your heart ache in the best way. “You... really mean that?”
“Yes!” you said, gripping the front of his jersey like you’d never let him go. “I finally understood why you’ve worked so hard, why this means so much to you. It’s amazing, Tabito. You’re amazing.”
For a moment, he just stared at you, his mouth slightly open as if he couldn’t find the words. Then, with a sudden burst of energy, he pulled you into another spin, your laughter echoing above the noise of the crowd.
When he set you down again, he didn’t hesitate—his lips found yours, and the world fell away.
He pulled back just enough to rest his forehead against yours. “You’re the one who’s amazing,” he whispered. “And you know what? That was the only goal I needed today—hearing you say that.”
You rolled your eyes, laughing softly as you wiped away a stray tear. “You’re so cheesy.”
“You love it.”
“I do,” you admitted, your voice barely audible over the roar of the stadium.
He glanced around, the chaos of victory still unfolding behind him, but all his focus was on you. “Hey,” he said, his tone suddenly serious. “Will you follow me? No matter where this takes me?”
You didn’t even have to think about it. “Anywhere. Always.”
His grin returned, wider than ever, and he kissed you again, as if sealing a promise. And as the stadium lights bathed you both in a golden glow, you knew you’d never stop cheering for him—on the field or off.
Karasu Tabito has always been moved by the ordinary things in life. Your love, your laugh, just you, so ordinary because you just...fit in his life so perfectly.

OF SHOULDERS AND SNOOZES — DAN HENG
⋆。˚ ❀ summary: after a long day of exploring the luofu, you doze off on the starskiff ride and fall asleep on caelus’ shoulder. when you wake up, you find yourself lying on dan heng’s shoulder instead… ⋆。˚ ❀ contents: fluff, gn!reader, jealous!dan heng ⋆。˚ ❀ wc: 0.9k ⋆。˚ ❀ a/n: alternative summary…you fall asleep on caelus’ shoulder and dan heng gets jealous :> listen i love jealousy something about it titillates me jksgdhgk esp jealousy when they don’t even know why they’re jealous AHHH screaming okay pls enjoy c:
Dan Heng knew that traveling within the Xianzhou Luofu could get tiring, especially when you spent all day exploring the place.
The last stop was back to Central Starskiff Haven from Cloudford in order to get last minute souvenirs and snacks before boarding the Astral Express again. This little trip included Dan Heng, Caelus, and you, and it was simply a little detour before the next big mission.
Dan Heng was grateful for the opportunity to make new memories in the Luofu with his new friends, rather than the past ones that he had little connection to now. Every since he met you in particular, he noticed the impact you had on his life. Life could be more carefree and happy, and he didn’t have to spend so much time worrying about his past. You easily became one of his closest friends, along with Caelus and March 7th.
And, despite March 7th’s incessant teasing and implications otherwise, a friend is all you were to him.
So why, when you fell asleep on Caelus’ shoulder during the starskiff flight back to Central Starskiff Haven, did Dan Heng feel uncomfortable?
The day was long and he saw the tired look it your eyes. It didn’t surprise him that you dozed off during the ride—you were known to withstand the jumps of the Astral Express and would fall asleep sitting upright on the sofa. It didn’t even surprise him you would lean your head to rest in a more comfortable position.
What Dan Heng didn’t understand is why weren’t you leaning the other way. On Caelus.
Noticing the lingering stare piercing his skin, Caelus shot Dan Heng a grin.
“You think they’re into me?” goaded Caelus, lighting patting you on the head. You let out a soft breath as you napped. “Maybe that’s why they want to get so close.”
Dan Heng coughed, crossing his arms as he averted his gaze. “No. They’re simply tired.”
As foolish as it was, he didn’t like seeing the way Caelus was touching you like that, no matter how friendly or harmless.
“Hmm,” Caelus mused. “But they didn’t choose your shoulder.”
“They were falling asleep asleep while leaning on you. It wasn’t much of a choice,” said Dan Heng stubbornly, shaking his head with pursed lips.
“Then why do you look so bitter?”
His face tightened more. “I’m just tired as well.”
Caelus laughed silently, trying to keep quiet so you wouldn’t wake up, but the small shake of his shoulders was enough to make you stir.
Dan Heng glared at Caelus and held his shoulder in place. Gently, he adjusted your position so you rested on Dan Heng instead. He would make sure not to disturb your rest.
Caelus looked at him with raised brows.
“I didn’t want you to wake them. That is all,” said Dan Heng. He didn’t mention how the tension left his body as soon as you made contact with him. Or the stirring in his stomach when the scent of your coconut shampoo filled his senses.
He let out a soft sigh in contentment. Dan Heng wasn’t sure why he felt so much unease when he saw you lying on Caelus, but he was certain he felt better now that you were leaning on him instead.
Caelus leaned his head back, a look of half-amusement, half-disbelief on his face. “Are you sure you two are just friends?”
“That is correct.”
“Is that all you want?”
Dan Heng was silent this time. He wasn’t sure what he wanted. But if being more than friends meant you would sleep on his shoulder only, then perhaps that was what Dan Heng would like to pursue.
As he looked down at your sleeping face, he smiled at the sight of your cheek squished against his shoulder. Warmth immediately filled his chest and he fought the urge to take a photo to capture this moment.
Finally, he responded to Caelus. “That’s something I want to tell Y/N before I tell anyone else.”
“I’ll take that as a yes.”
Dan Heng let out a small noise of laughter, feeling the starskiff come to a stop and savoring the final moments of you on his shoulder. He didn’t want this time to be the last, and he knew he’d have to do something about it soon.
As you stirred awake from the sudden stop, you blinked up at him blearily with a tired look on your face. You were still too sleepy to register the fact that you were now on Dan Heng’s shoulder when you first fell asleep on Caelus’.
“Good morning, Dan Heng,” you mumbled, giving him a small wave.
Dan Heng’s heart fluttered. He definitely had to confess his feelings to you shortly.
“Good morning,” he greeted although the sun was down.
“You shoulder is much comfier than Caelus’, I think,” you said as you sat up straight, rubbing your eyes as you awoke from your nap. “I’ll have to borrow it more often.”
His cheeks tinged pink at your words but he nodded along. “You can use it anytime.”
“Oh, get a room already,” Caelus groaned, ushering Dan Heng and you out of the starskiff. Caelus looked at you crossly. “And my shoulder is plenty comfy.”
“But they prefer mine,” Dan Heng quipped. He couldn’t help but feel happy at that knowledge.
You laughed at the two of them, a slightly confused expression on your face. “What did I miss while I was napping?” you asked, mostly speaking to yourself.
Dan Heng smiled, ruffling the top of your head as you swatted his hands away. “I’ll tell you later.”

What started as a strictly platonic relationship between her and Luke quickly escalated into something more.
The two met during their freshman year of college when y/n dragged her roommate and a few of their friends to a frat party. She was planning on having a drink or two, blending into the crowd but getting to know a few people, simply a ‘welcome-to-campus’ type situation. But when her friends let their high school personalities seep in, she found herself locked in a room with Luke.
Much to her friends’ displeasure though, nothing happened except for a newfound friendship. The two quickly became inseparable, going out to the movies, watching his games, and playing Monopoly in her dorm every Friday night, it was y/n and Luke against the world.
And things were going amazingly, that was until sometime late into their freshman year when the line between friendship and relationship started to blur. She wasn't going to say anything, she was growing accustomed to Luke's lingering touches when they’d part ways after walking to class together and his soft words when he’d bring her into a hug after the team won. She didn’t want them to stop.
Every time Luke's arm wrapped around her waist to pull her back into his chest, every time he'd beg her to wear his jersey to his games, every time he'd place a kiss on her cheek, every time he'd take her hand and put it in his hair so she’d play with his curls, it was overwhelming.
And deep down she knew she was harboring less than platonic feelings for him, he was Luke; beautiful, handsome, cheeky, awkward but confident Luke. She couldn't help but indulge in her mind's fantasies of his kisses against her shoulder or his arms tightly curled around her and cuddling in his bed.
So, she did. She leaned into his touches, into his whispered sayings, and that was how she ended up here, at the beginning of March during her sophomore year, letting Luke drag her through campus with a tight grip on her hand, letting him scare other guys off, letting him push her against the wall as he left open-mouthed kisses along her neck.
Ever since that one night when the two of them had finally succumbed to the feeling of want, no need, Luke had only grown more touchy and possessive; glaring at any guy who looked at her, guiding her to sit on his lap when there were 5 other places to sit, braiding her hair in front of her friends, late-night cuddles with her adorning one of his t-shirts.
She, along with everyone else, was riding out the high of the team’s win against Penn State even into the following weekend, the win signifying one game closer to a Frozen Four victory. Her group had found their way to a celebratory party that was happening somewhere around campus, it was hot and sticky due to the humidity and all the bodies there, and low and behold she had tagged along, Luke not too far behind her.
Standing in the living room, she was pressed tightly against him, his arm attached to her waist to make sure she didn't stray too far. However, after one too many drinks, she had to go to the bathroom, raising on her tip-toes in order to let him know where she was going.
Luke being the protective best friend gentleman he was, offered to go with her, making sure nobody would bother her. But she reassured him that she would be fine making her way through the crowd and up the stairs, so reluctantly he let her go, keeping his gaze on her with every step she made.
He kept one ear on the conversation he was having with Ethan, moving his wrist in small circular motions to watch the liquid inside spin around, while the other ear he kept open in case she had called out. Seven minutes, eight minutes passed and there was no sign of her anywhere, he was getting antsy without her by his side. He kept telling himself that maybe there was a line, maybe someone was fucking in there and she had to find her way to a different bathroom.
Yet, he glanced around the living room through the mob of people in search of her and he froze when he saw two figures near the stairs. He narrowed his eyes, glaring at y/n talking animatedly with another guy, a bright smile on her face, a smile that he loved to be the cause of.
He mumbled an excuse to his friend, walking over to where the two were standing. He had abandoned his drink, dumping the rest of the cups’ contents down the sink before throwing the cup away in the nearest trash bag available.
He neared them, finally being able to pick up bits and pieces of their conversation, but he wasn’t too worried about what they were talking about, just more or less how they were talking. He came to a stop a few feet behind her, scanning the guy from the top of his neatly gelled hair to the bottom of his new dress shoes, what was this, a wedding?
He couldn’t stop the roll of his eyes as he finished examining him, but he could stop the words of sarcasticness from falling out of his mouth, just barely though.
He closed the short distance to y/n, his arms immediately encircling her waist, chin resting on her shoulder. She didn’t need to look over to see who it was, the firm, comforting hold was enough to let her know.
Her smile brightened, glancing back to see a pouty, puppy dog-eyed expression plastered on his face with a possessive gleam in his eye. Her attention was entirely focused on the boy behind her now, entranced with the way his hair formed perfect ringlets but was messy at the same time caused by the dampness from his earlier shower and the humidity from the house they were in.
“Hey, Lukey.”
“Hey.” His voice was low and somewhat hoarse from yelling the past week, the sound making her body tingle in the slightest bit.
She could feel the way his grip tightened, placing her hands on top of his and lacing their fingers together as she motioned her head towards the guy who was still standing in front of them, “This is Alex, we have a class together.”
He nodded, turning his head so he could bury it into her neck placing soft kisses against her skin. A blush covered her cheeks, turning more and more pink with each kiss.
“Luke.” She murmured in an attempt to stop him. Usually, she wouldn’t mind the display of affection or the gentle undertone of his jealousy, but in the past few weeks, it had gotten only slightly out of hand, she felt like she couldn’t even talk to a guy without Luke showing up and scaring them off.
He hummed in acknowledgment, continuing his feather-light kisses, only pausing to eye the guy and what his face was expressing. She fought the urge to sigh, roll her eyes, and mutter an annoyed response. If he wanted to be around every time she talked to a guy, fine, so be it.
She picked back up the previously abandoned conversation with Alex, talking about their upcoming finals and their summer plans. Luke’s irritation grew as their talking went on, wanting nothing more than to take y/n back to his place and strip every piece of clothing off her. He would even settle for finishing their game of Monopoly from last night, as long as he got her away from the ‘hungry’ gaze Alex had on her.
So, he proceeded to do the only thing he knew would draw her attention back to him, moving to suck lightly on the one spot that made her weak in the knees within seconds. He could feel her tense for not even a nanosecond before she was melting into him. But little to his knowledge, a fury lit her eyes, her patience completely running out.
She stepped forward out of his grasp, saying a polite goodbye to her friend before dragging him out of the house and into the late March weather. It was still relatively chilly causing her to wrap her jacket tighter around her as they walked toward the sidewalk.
“What was that Luke?”
“What was what?” His face was the definition of innocence, a slight grin playing on his lips as he looked down at her.
She huffed as she took in his expression, “You know what. Why couldn’t you just let us talk in peace?”
“He was bothering me.”
“We were just talking about finals, I don’t know how that could’ve been bothering you.”
“He was looking at you like he wanted to tear your clothes apart.” He argued, frustration overtaking him.
“So?”
“‘So’?” He asked incredulously, staring at her as if she had grown to heads. Since when was she all for someone looking at her the way he was only supposed to?
“Yeah, ‘so’. Luke, we’re not even dating.”
Her words were like a blow to his stomach. He knew they weren’t dating, but he thought at least there was some unspoken agreement that the two of them were simply just the two of them, that no one was going to come in and take the other way from them.
“I know that.”
“Do you? Because every time I even so much as think about a guy, you’re swooping me into your arms and taking me somewhere. I haven’t had a normal interaction with a guy in weeks.”
So maybe he was being a little over-possessive. He didn’t mean to, really, he just wanted her for himself, wanted everyone to know that she was his and he was hers.
“You’re leaving soon, Lu.”
His thoughts came to a stop, furrowing his eyebrows in confusion as he stared at her, “What do you mean I’m leaving soon? Y/n/n if you’re talking about Tampa it’s just for the weekend-”
“I’m talking about New Jersey, Luke.”
He blinked slowly, more confused than before. She bit the inside of her cheek, eyes wandering around so she wouldn’t have to see him taking in what she said.
“What’re you talking about?” His voice was soft, and careful, not wanting to upset her more than she was.
“I’m not stupid, y’know? I’ve seen the tweets, the Devils are planning on calling you up after this whole thing is over.” She waved her hand, gesturing to the party that was thrown because of the championship.
“You don’t know that for sure.” He kept his words steady, reassuring her that everything people were saying was just rumors, but even he knew that wasn’t true.
“Even if it’s not, how are we going to continue this when you do eventually go out there?” Her eyes met his, both of them shining with unshed tears, “You can’t expect me to just be a buffer for you.”
“Hey, you’re not just a buffer-”
“But aren’t I? Isn’t that what we’re doing? Using each other until we can find someone we actually want to be with?” Each word twisted the knife in his stomach further, had she really thought she was just a buffer?
He regained his composure quickly, speaking firmly, “No. You are not just a buffer to me, sweetheart.”
The nickname caused a swarm of butterflies to erupt in her stomach and she did her best to push each one down, far enough that they couldn’t come back. The way he was talking made her feel like maybe she was wrong about the status of their feelings, maybe he really did like her and now she was ruining it, but the voice in the back of her had assured her she was reading this the right way.
“I’m not just going to drop you the second I leave for Jersey, whenever that may be.” He reached for her hand, but she stepped back, narrowly escaping the touch.
“I can’t keep doing this. You-” she took a deep breath, mentally preparing herself for what she was about to say, “You’ll go to Jersey and I’ll be here, there’s no room for me to go with.”
“Don’t say that.”
“It’s true, we both know it. It- we won’t work like this.”
“So that’s it? We’re just not even going to talk anymore?”
“That’s not what I said-”
“But it’s what you meant.” He interjected, eyes still glistening with tears.
“It isn’t. I just- god Luke, you act like you want me to be nothing more than your best friend one minute and the next we’re having sex against the wall!”
He breathed heavily, listening to her speak, “If you can’t make up your mind then I’ll do it for you, whatever this is, it can’t go on. Not when we’re going to be in two different places and certainly not when we feel two different ways.”
“Y/n…” He trailed off, one last attempt to get her to hear him out, but he watched her shake her head and walk down the street, wrapping her arms around herself to protect her from the cold.

A week later and their not-so-breakup breakup had been the only thing on his mind, not the fact that he had just lost a Frozen Four championship, not that he had just played in what would be known as his last college game, not the fact that sometime in the next few days he would sign his first NHL contract and play in his first NHL game alongside his brother.
He sat in his hotel room, twisting and turning in his bed as he struggled to fall asleep. Eventually, he gave up, opting to lay flat on his back, staring straight up at the ceiling, making note of every single bump it had.
In less than 48 hours he would be doing something that he had dreamed of doing since he was younger, since he’d even known it was a possibility. And yet, none of it felt right without her there.
They had been glued to each other’s side since that party, doing almost everything together; shopping, walking to classes and practices, eating, homework, laundry, any chance they had to be together they were.
It was a strange feeling, not having her around even emotionally. She was always the first person he reached out to when something exciting happened; he scored a goal, he got a good grade on his test, he saw a squirrel on his way to see her, or when something upsetting happened; he got hit with a puck causing a bruise on his side, his visit to see his brothers got delayed, or he just felt downright horrible.
The thought of him relying on her too much came quickly but left just as fast. It wasn’t like he was dependent on her, he was his own person and she was hers, but she was his person.
The one who would make him feel better with just a simple smile, the one who engaged in hockey talk because she knew it made him happy, the one who texted him random life updates every so often, the one who wasn’t afraid to let him see the real her.
Fuck.
Realization slammed into him, hard and heavy like he was just fighting for the puck and got slammed into the boards.
Signing a piece of paper could wait until Monday, but telling his best friend he was in love with her couldn’t.

Y/n watched the game despite her promise to herself not to. Curled up on her bed, the game playing on her computer as she ate ice cream. Going into the third period they were tied and she had mustered up as much hope as she could, but goal after goal, Quinnipiac scored 3, bringing the final score to 5-2.
She was disappointed at their loss, as much as any other student attending Michigan, but she was even more upset that this now solidified the beginning of Luke’s future. In however many days he would be playing in New Jersey.
And now it was the day after and she was in her room working on a paper for one of her classes, headphones blocking out all the noises around her. She looked between multiple tabs, searching her papers for a Post-it note she had written not too long ago, and continuously deleted and retyped the same thing.
She was just about to start writing a new portion of the paper when a knock and wave of a hand in front of her pulled her from her thoughts, looking over to see her roommate. She pulled her headphones off, letting them rest around her neck, “What’s up?”
“Someone’s here for you.” She didn’t miss the slight smirk she had, which never meant anything good.
She uncurled herself from her spot on the chair, leaving her headphones on her desk before making her way to the door, and opening it. She froze when she saw who it was, Luke in a familiar blue Michigan sweatshirt and gray sweatpants.
“Luke? What’re you doing here?”
“I needed to talk to you.”
She hesitated but the look on his face made her crumble, opening the door wide so he could step into her apartment. They walked towards her room, letting him go in and sit down on her bed as she stood near the door, arms crossed against her chest.
“What did you want to talk about?”
“I’m signing my contract tomorrow.”
“Oh, um- that’s amazing, congrats, Lu.”
He nodded, looking at the ground. A few beats passed and all he could think about was the urge to pull her in for a kiss. He wasn’t known for his impulsiveness, or maybe he was and he just never made it a big deal, but now? He couldn’t help but act on the urge, so he did.
He took a few steps forward, pushing the second-guessing thoughts out of his mind, coming to a stop when he towered over her completely, hand reaching to cup her face and brush his thumb across her cheek.
She flushed, staring up at him with wide, almost doe-like, eyes. He leaned down, bringing his lips to meet hers, instantly causing her to turn into a puddle of mush. She kissed back just as eagerly, wrapping her arms around his neck like they had been itching to do it for the past week.
When she felt her breath running out, she pulled away, allowing her forehead to rest against his, both of them panting softly as they tried to steady their breathing. Luke’s gaze was entirely on her, studying the way her eyelashes were laying delicately on her cheeks, her light freckles spread across her nose, the pieces of hair that escaped from her ponytail.
“You were always mine.”
Her eyes shot open at his quiet murmur, looking at him like he had just given her the answers to every single exam she still had to take. She gulped, trying to reign her thoughts in, “What?”
“You were always going to be mine, y/n/n. From the moment you bumped into me at the party, from the moment we first watched Miracle together and you cried, from the moment you stole 200 bucks of my money the first time we played Monopoly, from the first time you put on my jersey, I knew that I had to make you mine.
“And I know it’s taking me a long time, way too long, but I needed you to know, now more than ever. It might be too late, but I just-”
“I was always going to want to be yours.”
Her admission flowed through him, easing his worries immensely. He breathed a low chuckle, “Thank god. I was starting to think I was going to have to say the whole speech I prepared.”
“There was more?”
He nods sheepishly, but it was better to be over-prepared than not prepared enough, he would’ve said the whole thing a million times if it meant she would say those words.
“Are you going to let me hear it?”
“That depends… what do I get if I do?”
“A kiss?”
He hummed in thought, “I don’t know, baby. I put my blood, sweat, and tears into writing this.”
“Shut up and kiss me, Hughes.”
And who was he to say no?
