hi i just wanted to pop into your asks because it'll take me a while to rb and get all of my thoughts out about the posts of yours that i read (and also i want to reread them) but I just wanted to say that I love how (from what I've seen of your works) you have such a good grasp of characters and their mannerisms/thoughts/feelings like- it's actually so impressive. Stuff like this is always so nice that I don’t know what to do with myself. It feels nice to have my efforts validated, because I really really really do try to be as accurate as possible to the character — even when the ask or the situation might make them be a little ooc.

With Aventurine, I took so much care because he is a character that means a lot to me. It took me a long long time of writing to get his headcanons done, and I’m still not satisfied with his but perfection is impossible.

To put it into perspective, my headcanons (ALL OF THEM) are written over a period of multiple days with multiple drafts, rewrites, and edits before I am totally satisfied. Other fics that I get out in a short period of time STILL take me multiple hours and rereads and edits before I put them out. I really do care, very very deeply about what I write.

Even with characters I’m not a fan of (like Malleus from twst, for example) I really try hard to do right. Because while he might not be my favorite, he IS someone’s and that should be enough for me to care. Putting my biases aside to write from canon is so important, and without shaming other authors (because they’re so incredibly talented too), I wish I saw that more in fanfic too.

That’s why I take so much time and care and dedicate so much to my work, because I care a lot. I’m always so happy when that care comes through and people see and feel it.

While I don’t get every ask done (because the volume of asks I have is impossible), the ones I do I make sure that they’re good, because they deserve to be.

I have a headcanon that Taylor or Ben has things in their bags for the others (total mom friends) so imagine her shock when she found out someone had ear plugs in their bag incase she needed them?

Her gift to people is just her presence. She'd be the type to occasionally need quiet but wouldn't mind being in comfortable silence with someone she likes. I feel like quality time would be her way of showing she cares for someone.

— This is an idk because im basing these off of what we know about their background and character but we know like nothing so everything about this is based off of pure theory.

The only canon part i can mention is that during his conversation with Ashlyn at the school he mentioned how since he moved around a lot he never really had a true bond with anyone.

"You seemed like the type to only get close with people who mean something to you."

So Aiden didnt just want someone he could feel attached to, he also wanted to feel cared for. Its a two way street with him.

While I could see him loving physical touch as I doubt he got enough of that as a child and he clearly loves being touchy with people I feel like with what we know I could argue really any love language. He'd probably take anything if it makes him feel cared for.

I found a picture of a chart saying "your love language may show what you lacked as a child" and he checked every box so he's fucked.

I ultimately want to settle with physical touch as he seemed shocked when Ashlyn initiated the hug likely due to being the one to always initiate them. Like above he probably just wants his efforts reciprocated.

This ^ was ben after Ashlyn complimented his bandaging job. A small compliment I know but even after what taylor said about him opening up he blushed there too.

You can't deny it means a lot to him he probably thought about those for a while.

— I talked about this in a discord server briefly but I want to share it here. You know the quote "the quieter you are the more you hear"? Well thinking of that ive come up w the idea that Ben likely is more observant compared to most people.

Hed be the one to notice if someone was looking at something for a while in a store or hear it pass in conversation. Make a mental or physical note of it and get it for them.

I just imagine him being the type to be like "i know you like this" or "this reminded me of you". I feel like he wouldnt be the greatest at expressing it in many other ways so he resorts to getting people things.

Hes also pretty artsy so I can also just imagine him making people little things for them.

Like, tyler taught him guitar? gets tyler a new pick. Logan looking at something in the store? need to remember that. and so on

My thing is I can imagine her being happy with receiving anything as long as someone had her best interest at heart then she'd become the happiest girl ever.

— Another give in, she does it ALL THE TIME. Its literally her defining feature. Shes very good with words and likes making others feel better about themselves. Seeing people perk up from her words would be enough to make her own day better.

I imagine she too, like tyler, had to be there for her mom a lot. So she probably learnt it from that experience. I also imagine her want to make people happier stemmed from seeing Tyler slowly lose interest in everything around him and wanting to be able to be the person who could make his day just a bit better.

Though like above I could see taylor doing things she knows mean the most of others. Like the moment she realized Ben likes words of affirmations she made sure to compliment him a bit more. After realizing Ashlyn likes quality time she would find a way to do that while also not overwhelming Ashlyn, say a movie or just going on a walk. Shed make an effort to make people happy based off of what they love the most.

Im not too sure what his would actually be MAYBE quality time again similar to Taylors in the sense that he knows just how fast someone can lose their lives so he likely would appreciate someone wanting to actually spend time with him.

Even if he wouldnt admit it.

OK SO RANT WARNING I LOVE ADAMAI

ngl i think about adamai so much like literally almost half of the time im thinking abt him so um i just wanna talk about my personal headcanons for him bc i rlly rlly like him he’s genuinely such an easy character to relate to for me because i relate to his trauma. Anyways, forgive me if you catch any spelling or grammar errors, i’m writing this with like 4 hours of sleep and dyslexia.

um so my main mental health hcs are that he has BPD, ADD (lololol fits with the name) and minor psychosis. For ADD, it’s moreseo that from what i’ve seen, adamai struggles in social cues and has a more quiet approach to his struggles, and that he acts similarly to me, and I am autistic. For psychosis, it’s sort of a baseless headcanon, I just feel like Adamai would get auditory/ tactile hallucinations.

It’s a little hard to explain why i think he has BPD cause it’s moreso things I can relate to, such as how he latches onto people rlly quick ; ie a BPD person’s “favorite person,” who is a support system and a sort of pillar/ anchor and typically end up being someone the person w/ BPD sometimes ends up changing themself for. I personally think that adamai’s had multiple favorite people, such as; grougal, qilby, phaeris, echo and oropo, and obviously, yugo. Its kinda hard for me to like. Phrase WHY i think these people are his fps, but i think it’s mostly how he values them and prioritizes them when it comes to his actions and thoughts and feelings, i mean, just take oropo for example. Adamai changed his entire body for oropo, taking the dofus in when he was still rlly young for eliatrope/dragon standards, even assuming a body he didn’t want to survive, which even then, he only did for approval and support from his FP. This actually leads me into my next headcanon,

I headcanon adamai as transfem. Specifically a trans woman. For a few reasons, which I’ve gone over in a twitter thread (same username as on here, you should go check it out, I’m WAY more active there haha) but i’ll put it here.

1. adamai doesnt feel comfortable in his body and it’s elaborated on in the show. When he’s talking to eliatrope about his body, eliatrope states that he’s “always been unique” and iirc you can see adamai’s face drop because its not exactly something he’s proud of.

2: going off the last point, he’s shown to say that the body he now has in wakfu s3-4 is one he had to adapt to survive and not the one he chose, which is parallel to some trans people never transitioning because they dont feel safe enough to do so. this is kind of a stretch but bear with me, it’s more subconcious connections than anything else.

3. (More of a joke point) BUT HE LITERALLY HAS THE SAME WAIST SIZE AS JESSICA RABBIT. WHAT. YES I’VE ACTUALLY COMPARED I AM NOT JOKING. Like here are the images (see below) for comparison. In all seriousness, while i feel like adamai’s design IS iconic and it does serve the purpose it meant to acheive, it doesn’t feel like him. Which again, is what it meant to acheive!! I’ll touch on this more in a second, but not.

4: adamai has multiple issues regarding self perception, which in a way are all similar to dysphoria. He seems to have rejection dysphoria, body dysphoria, and maybe gender dysphoria. In my view, he seems to have all three subtypes of gender dysphoria (body, mind, and social) this actually ties in to the first point, because i feel like he’d develop a sort of body dysmorphia from shifting into a body he didn’t want, rather then a body that would be more comfortable for him; the human or the dragon. Which i’m choosing to see as a representation of the two genders; with him shifting in between being a sort of safe spot, like how many trans people identify as nonbinary or bigender before transition. (Not to say that these people are any less trans then any others, i’m just going off my own perception as a trans genderfluid person!!!)

5: he’s always being forced into roles; from being raised for yugo, to being yugo’s mentor, to being grougal’s nanny, to being possessed, etc. Ad never has chances to choose any roles by himself, and it’s similar to transphobic parents stopping their trans kid from expressing themselves imo. Again, could be a stretch, but this is how i interpreted it. It’s actually kind of similar to my parents, so maybe that’s why. Though, this COULD also just be gifted kid burnout or autistic burnout OR strict parent parallels, which i also can see correspond with adamai.

6: His mental image and self worth.

Adamai’s character is heavily influenced by a lack of self worth. He measures it with other people’s perceptions of him such as oropo’s or grougal’s, and when his body is perceived negatively by himself/others, he also starts hating it and himself, which ties into the headcanon i had about him having body dysmorphia AND into the BPD favorite people!!!

7: ( sounds like a joke point but bear w me) estrogen could have saved him

And honestly, no, Im not joking. Imo, if Adamai was allowed access to an actual process to be able to feel comfortable in his own skin, it might help his mental illnesses a lot in the long run. I equate that to him getting estrogen + finally looking like himself. It could help him with the body dysmorphia and self esteem by helping him get to a place where he’s comfortable to be himself and maybe even shapeshift again. (I actually wrote a fic about this on Ao3, https://archiveofourown.org/works/55070686, if you want to read it!!)

But um yeah, thats my reasoning for the trans headcanons, onto the less mental health involved ones, more miscellaneous. (But if you’re wondering why i’m using ‘male’ pronouns on Adamai, it’s because i feel like he would still like the he/him pronouns, but would simply use she/her more post transition.)

So, i have a few, mainly for adamai during winter vs summer.

In winter,

Silverish hair to blend with the snow

hair puffs up slightly to provide more insulation

lighter pigmentation everywhere,

much sleepier, tends to nap in the snow often

And then in the summer,

Blonde hair

more pigmentation

hair is less puffy, just curly (similar to chibi’s hair!!!)

less sleepier and more energetic.

Those are the basic ones for the seasons, but i also headcanon adamai to be an ice dragon, which means his tempurature is MUCH lower then the rest of the council’s save for maybe efrim. He needs to be in the sun much more, which could be part of the reason why grougal chose oma island to raise adamai. Another headcanon is that adamai and yugo both have heterochromia!! Yugo has central heterochromia, and Adamai has sectoral heterochromia; his eyes being blue and brown. I also headcanon that he has face markings similar to his mother, but they disappear in his dragon form because he’s closer to his father then.

Um yeah, that’s kind of it for right now, i might add onto these if more come up, but i hope you enjoyed reading!! I rwally love adamai, especially in s3 and up, he’s one of the most well written traumatized character’s i’ve seen, and i ADORE the nuance behind him.

a great ask!! there are a lot of thoughts on the way i see nnoitra to add a little bit of context so i hope this doesn't read like a fucking character essay 🙈

A love interest like this can be very poisonous for his own self-image at first. I think you have to be either very distant or cautious at least while he's trying to asses you or else he's likely to view you as a danger to his own peace which should be avoided or eliminated. But the thing is that that's the kind of person who'd work the best with him. Personally, I think to Nnoitra labeling and dividing people, over-simplifying some things and maintaining an image is something of a coping mechanism to keep his mind off things like the horrors of arrancar existence and his own insecurities. I mean... being purposefully ignorant is very fitting for someone missing an eye not because he somehow lost it in battle but because he was made this way. So people who also label him as either an idol like Tesla or a tyrant like everybody else and see him as nothing beyond these titles mean nothing to him. They might as well be grains of sand beneath his heel. And even though he's usually too self-absorbed and consumed with his own thoughts, wishes and fears to see others as they are Nnoitra actually hates people who are shallow with him. Ironically enough you have to fight or at least challenge him even when it comes to emotions and feelings in order for Gilga to acknowledge you

All that said I believe that once he's done spitting venom at you he'd find himself very entertained with any other conversations you share. This would help him slowly but surely open up even if it's hard sometimes. Painful even. Someone who doesn't see speaking about just anything as a weakness or unnecessary nonsense and constantly shows it will surely make him more talkative. I love thinking back to that one scene where he asked Ichigo about his name and promised to try to remember it, only to say "I already forgot your name sorry" like one chapter later. And because of it, I'm convinced Nnoitra is actually very fucking funny sometimes. So seeing someone almost rolling on the ground laughing without being scared of looking stupid would make him fall in love even more

Nnoitra is a troubled and miserable man... which doesn't take away the fact that he's also a terrible person but nonetheless he can't help but feel both intimidated and enamored with someone who sees his personality attractive without taking his strength, rank and number of battles he's won into account. No strong/weak talk. Just him. Being the man he is he'd probably think it's some sick joke or weird obsession with just plain bad people at first because of course it has to be this, can't have faith in you people, but once he gets his shit rocked because the s/o doesn't take no shit from anybody he'd start to feel something. To him being seen through his tough armor and still being taken seriously even after you realize what he's actually like is oh so very scary but also so thrilling and intimate he could die

Despite Tesla's dedication to Nnoitra and Nnoitra alone, I think this guy can be easily enamored by someone like this, too. Seeing Tesla all giddy and puppy-eyed with anyone beside him is a huge sign something is going on for Nnoitra. It means he's not just imagining things. And well, Gilga can run away and ignore everything all he wants but getting jealous is the biggest reality check he can get because this man's ego is a tad too big to let it slide

He won't take any of this without fighting back of course. At first, he'd try to do something about the person who makes him feel too much when he's not ready for it. And later on, he'd try to best you. Even though he'd start to open up I'm sure Nnoitra's not the one to let himself be on the receiving end all the time even if it's as small as taking him seriously 😭 At least because it's embarrassing. So as to not be outdone he'd try to be more genuine, more present. Of course, given his personality, height and the amount of arms he can possess, being physically affectionate is much easier for him. You can't do anything with him being bigger in general so it makes him feel more confident and imposing while he's trying to win the "who swoons first" game lol

you know what Novelmore fans need? headcanons about the main characters’ absent parents, obviously. so here we go.

Arwynn’s mother, Queen Llewella:

since John is an English name but Arwynn is a Welsh name I decided that clearly Arwynn’s mother needed a Welsh name too.

late wife of King John, she died about a decade ago. Arwynn’s memories of her are fuzzy, but he resembles her in a lot of ways.

John had lighter blond hair than Arwynn, so I thought it would make sense for Llewella to be a strawberry blonde.

I haven’t decided how I think John and Llewella would have gotten together - it was either an arranged marriage that worked out well enough for them, or he had some kind of dramatic Married A Peasant For Love arc decades ago.

Brody’s mother, Captain Barabal:

Brody is a Scottish name, but Bayron is ... apparently the Spanish form of an English name? so mom gets a Scottish name!

his birth was a strategic political arrangement - his mother is loyal to Lord Bayron, but the two were never married. he was born out of wedlock and is only tolerated as much as he is by virtue of being of noble blood and the only heir to the throne.

since Brody’s description on the playmobil site said he’d been travelling between kingdoms before the plot begins, I thought it’d be fun if his mom was a privateer and he was on her crew. he doesn’t receive parental affection from her, but she does pay him more respect than Bayron does - she doesnt treat him like a son, but recognizes that he could potentially become her future boss so she’s more strategic in how she treats him. mostly she tries to keep him busy and out of her hair.

Gwynn’s parents, Geoffrey and Bronwen Greystone:

in the show Gwynn’s uncle is named Bran while the figure of her uncle in the toyline is named Geoffrey. these are based on the show, so I’m using Geoffrey as the name of her dad. 

uncle Bran is credited as Lord Greystone so that means he should be Geoffrey’s brother? but since Bran is a Welsh name while Geoffrey is a French name that was converted to English, I like the idea that theyre from two different cultural backgrounds + Bran is Gwynn’s maternal uncle. so mom gets a Welsh name :P

anyways Geoffrey is probably still alive, just living out in the wilderness. I get the feeling that Bronwen is... Not alive, though. Gwynn seems like someone who was heavily influenced by being raised as a woman without a female role model of any kind.

won’t lie to you - I based Bronwen on Snow White (iirc Gwynn means white) while I based Geoffrey on the Huntsman. not for any reason other than I felt allusions to either or both would fit Gwynn, in particular - its just to tie them to her, thematically! :P

Dario’s parents, Ser Claudio and Monna Annabella da Vanci:

Obviously the character with an Italian name, based on an Italian historical figure, is going to have parents with Italian names.

This means that Dario’s full name is actually Dario di ser Claudio da Vanci (meaning “Dario, son of Claudio from Vanci”)

Claudio, naturally, was the son of Dario the first - while he was a talented engineer and inventor like his father before him, he was more passionate about sculpting. He became well-renown for his sculptures, and was often commissioned by King John.

since Dario II is the last of the da Vanci family, we know that Claudio and Annabella must both be dead - or at least Claudio is. Annabella theoretically could still be alive, but likely would have remarried into a different family and become a little distant if so.

currently thinking Nadiye was a merchant from a small community at the edge of Sal’ahari Sands. she traveled to Novelmore to sell her wares, until she settled down with Archer. she still sells homemade textiles and pottery, but no longer needs to travel such long distances to make a living.

i have not gotten so many hc asks in one day before its making me very happy. (i have not answered some of them sorry :( )

whether characters are trans or cis is usually up to interpretation. but those where i think their AGAb does factor into their identity/how i write them, i will say so

also, this is just vibes and whatever. like. im explaining their gender how i understand it. i know like two terms for gender. yes and no.

Avra/Aphmau. Gender = whatever you perceive. typically that's she/her, due to her being very feminine presenting, but sometimes someone'll smell the gender-fluidity and say something else. based off of me bc its fun. Any pronouns. Skinchanger, which may impact it.

Garroth. Gender = a man but only bc he was told so. What would he identify as if he felt confident enough to explore his identity? Who knows. but he was told he was a dude, so that's what he's sticking with. May be confused if you refer to him with she/her pronouns, but he's not uncomfortable with it. He/him, maybe he/She, AMAB.

Laurence. Gender = if a woman was a man. He's a dude, but in the way a woman would be. He/she/they.

Aaron. Gender = He is babygirl. His pronouns are she/her (reference). his gfs will refer to him using solely feminine terminology. his actual identity? no one knows. he doesnt. and it shouldn't matter bc you shouldn't be talking about him anyways. He feels very she/her to me, but i instinctively refer to him as he/him. Settling on She/he but it feels inaccurate.

Katelyn. Gender = girl? maybe? she's not sure. She/her but maybe She/they? Mostly feminine terminology, but does enjoy masc honourifics more (sir, dad, husband, etc.)

Travis. Gender = the manliest man. he/him, AFAB. Shapeshifter, doesn't impact his gender at all.

Lucinda. Gender = tits. She/her, refers to her tits as 'the girls'. Whether or not she is a girl by extension is not the point.

Nicole. Gender = i refer to him as Nico(le) on discord. Afab, He/Him, mega fucking buff. Was pretending to be a twink as of s1, then had to come out as a girl, and then showed up as a bear in s2, because he's a big strong man. Dmitri still calls him mom, though, which was Nico's idea in the first place, just because it felt more fitting.

My last (and priciest... rip wallet) nendo pakige came! It was... a whole this guy. Now it needs to be said I do not know the guy but he was picked for having perfect hair forrrrrrrrrrrrrr.... custom Wen Kexing I desperately wanted to make :D I hoped to find just the hair pieces but the only option was almost the price of a whole nendo so I was like. might as well get the guaranteed-not-bootleg one. I didn't want to cut and sculpt anything, so I looked for something that would be close enough on its own - and this hair is a very nice middle ground between my own headcanon (assymetrical front, mostly loose with only two strands tied in the back, purple/mauve undertone) and my fav AD design (this one).

I'm getting fabrics for his fit later (once i get my wallet out of hell.......), but since the hair and the faceplates were all here, I was impatient to try them together. So without further ado, please perceive!

The clothes are a mix between The Guy's (im sorry mr.*looks it up* zeyan li im sure ur a good character but i only got u to pull a victor frankenstein on u) and LBH's. I actually really vibe with these robes (theyre based on the same type i usually draw wkx in! yuanlingpao worn with opened collar!) but they have a Problem in that they are meant to be displayed with the og big coat (as in, this nendo doesnt have the stick part for the standee, his coat is supposed to hold him up) and it didnt fit with any standard standees I had. So I ended up using the ones that came with the doll bodies for these pics. Yes two of them (the second one props up the hair from the back). Good thing I was already going to replace the robes with doll body+clothes i guess... I also slightly photoshopped the second faceplate bcus the highlights turned out to be too big >< Currently figuring out how to color them in to this state irl.

Now, while I did get this nendo primarily for the hair, I also wondered if his faceplates would work for a potential Zhou Zishu and... yeah:

Was going for the "You dare to act against who's mine?" vibes with the second one because yknow. yeah. I'll need to get him different hair (these are Binghe's) as the front especially doesnt fit with the image I have for him, plus im not even sure I want the ponytail (and not some type of bun) for him, and ofc I need this hair for Binghe - but I daresay the vibes on the faceplates are 💯💯💯

thoughts about my oc/canon stuff under the cut.

so. aurellio and refa. aurellio was essentially born as a joke, saying "what if i made a centauri oc lmfao" and also, "what if, as a parallel to londo and adira, refa had his own dancer in a pre-canon timeline back home on centauri prime and they were both boys!" since yknow. refa is such an effective foil to londo i figured it would be a fun, kinda cute idea.

i also think it does narratively fit in well with b5. take londo, who isnt the best example but we see him commit all these horrible acts but we know about his love for adira, before we even see him start to reform or even start to really commit atrocities we know he has a heart. we find this out in the third episode. spectacularly done.

a better example of this would actually be bester, one of my other absolute favorite side villains. bester was never redeemed. bester, however, is given opportunities for the audience to see his heart. irt his family, his expectant lover, and his somewhat emotional reactions to the telepaths dying in season 5, though caused by him. we still hate him, he never gets redeemed, his love for the people in his life does still exist and doesnt excuse or justify his actions. it gives him a lot of depth that i also really enjoyed!

that is kind of what i'm trying to do with refa. aurellio is a late 20 something year old centauri who is majorly unaware of what refa is doing or does or will do in relation to his schemes to rise to power. i also think that in this pre-canon timeline (around 2253-2257) is when refa is doing little things to slowly climb to where we see him in the show. he always had a lot of power being the lord of his house so he didnt need to do much, but i think the ten or so years leading up to his appearance in the show was a slow, hands-off rise to power. so aurellio, who has no real relation to House Refa aside from being a patron, isnt involved or knowledgeable about house refa's politics.

i would get into the "refa is a good family man" headcanon i have but tldr: celes was his last wife because he chose her. he chose her because he genuinely loved her and he chose to have senna. his other wives and his other children operate moreso like londos wives and him did where there was no love and only obligation. so senna and celes get favored. senna cared enough about her father to throw rocks at londos head years later about it, so i think that they did have a good relationship. refa spoiled her, would do anything for her, which was strange for a noble centauri man to be so obsessed with his youngest daughter. maybe he knew she was always destined for greatness. weh. and well, when this baby is like "dad, i wanna be a ballerina" like most 3 year old girls want to be, he says "of course my love, let me find you the best teacher possible": enter aurellio. who he chooses. who senna also chooses.

so yknow. refa gets a boy toy as a treat. aurellio is almost a part of his family as a treat. they kinda sorta love each other, as a treat, and it also works with aurellio's unconventional relationships he has with his lesbian wife bestie and her twin, the actual love of his life. so like yay centauri polyamory.

i just feel like sometimes i have to justify doing what i'm doing with my oc/canon stuff bc 1. it's refa🤢 and 2. ive been in fandoms before that were hostile to me about liking villains And trying to expand on them and make them more than what the show gives us. im VERY satisfied with refa's character in the show. these headcanons arent filling a void that was missing because i dont think they needed to be expanded on in canon, i just like refa/the centauri/my centauri oc and expanding on centauri lore is fun. so 🤷‍♂️

It's the Orc Bank. I headcanon the Orc Bank. There's this one post that sums it up really well, but I can't find it, so I'll try to sum it up. The theory is that only Eru can create souls. Morgoth can only corrupt them. Given that Orcs exist well into the Third Age, there's a couple options.

1. Modern Orcs have no souls (doubtful)

2. Eru creates Orc souls (also doubtful)

3. Maia have the power to corrupt souls (more believable, but logistically how would that work? Sauron tortures *every* orc? When does an Orc stop being an Orc then?)

4. The Orc souls are Recycled into the Orc Bank.

It's exactly as it sounds. The souls corrupted by Morgoth are re-used throughout the Millenia. There is No End to their suffering. It makes me SAD every time I think about it.
