actually startinf to love optirach so let me yap on some hcs (with tfp influence because that show wormed its way into my brain)

both opti and ratch never told anyone about their relationship because their both very private people and uncomfortable with pda

opti usually has a stupid grin or blush when hes around ratch but the mask hides it. ratch can tell tho from the way his optics crinkle when he smiled

ratch nags opti like crazy because he dosent know how to show affection

opti defently asks ratchet criptic shit like ‘would you love me if i was a worm’ or vage allusions to how he feels bad because he wants reassurance and is very bad at explainging that. ratchet on the other hand doesent say shit abt his issues but opti has the uncanny ability to tell when hes in the dumps. neither of them are good with words so they often try to be comforting with acts of service and or gifts

they bicker like old married men, optimus can get suprisingly into fighting with ratch

opti and ratch really like working next to eachother, optimus plans battles while ratch sorts medical documentation ect. they dont talk but find eachothers presence relaxing

ratchet fights competently but optimus always freaks out an worries when ratch is on the field

prewar ratch used to be very swave and cool (experince from party mech days) but now hes too old and tired to flirt well, opti finds this cute and enjoys teasing him

opti reads to ratchet when he has trouble sleeping, ratchet makes tea for him so he dosent hurt his throat with so much talking

they ended up breaking up because the demands of war were to vast to deal with while also juggling a relationship, though opti never quite moved on

My parents just cut down an easily 400 year old maple tree that was in front of our house because it was dropping huge branches and they were afraid it was going to go down during a storm and smash the house. So it was like a necessary evil. But the four year old tree hugger and lover me is just so sad. So many birds without houses now. No more hours of wonderful shade. Or being able to look at all of the mosses growing underneath it. Not to mention how pretty it is in the fall and all of the leaves it drops to help the soil and give bees places to hibernate. It just feels like a crime.

PSA, there's a really nasty Discord scam going around rn. If one of your friends DMs you, starting off with a simple "hello" "how are you", may even joke around a little, and then starts asking you to look at a game/project they're working on, don't click the link, don't download anything. If you can reach that friend through non-Discord means, reach out and let them know they got hacked.

One of my friends said the link takes them to a very convincing video game page that has in-game screenshots and stuff, and then gives you an option to download a playtest zip file or something. That download exploits a weakness Discord apparently has for password protected zip files and steals your Discord log-in and changes your account info to the scammer's account info. Two of my friends lost their accounts. Be careful.

Imagine if the GIW started gunning for Jason without the Batfam ever meeting Phantom. Like, Bruce has to figure out on his own that the guys in white suits with Lazarus guns are 1. a legitimate government agency, and 2. are perfectly within their rights to hunt Jason like an animal, because 3. there's secret government legislation that says that since Jason's body processes ectaplasm, he's classified as non-sapient and has no legal protections.

Bruce calling up Clark like

Bruce: I am currently in the process of breaking into a government facility in order to dismantle their operations.

Clark: Okay? Do you need... help?

Bruce: Yes.

Clark: Sure, I'll be right there.

Bruce: Not that kind of help. Oracle is sending you the files now. I'd like you and Ms. Lane to make these people wish they were never born.

Clark: [speed-reading the documents] Oh yeah, can do. This is truly disgusting. If the public is half as outraged as I am, we'll get this sorted as fast as the courts can manage.

So Clark Kent acts as a whistle-blower, the Justice League publicly condems the Anti-Ecto Acts as inhumane, the GIW is disbanded, and Batman gets pardoned for all of those crimes that he technically did by assaulting federal agents. And after all that gets sorted, some white haired kid pops up in the Watchtower like "haha thanks for that I really didn't want a war between Earth and the Infinite Realms" and the League are like "wait what"

I can't stop thinking about the relationship between Jon and Helen as perhaps one of the most important ones in the entire show. They are narrative parallels for each other, and they both know it. They've both known it from the very start!

Helen walks into the Archives, paranoid, unsure of who to trust, and Jon sees himself in her. And he thinks "If i can help her, maybe there's hope for me too." Then he can't save her. The next time they meet, she's a monster. They're both monsters. There was never any other way their stories could have gone, their fates entwined from the very start.

And Helen answers his original thought with one of her own: "Maybe if we can help each other, there's hope for us both." But Jon looks at her and sees everything that he fears becoming, and so he turns her away, and refuses to accept that their stories are still one and the same.

Helen went to the last person who was ever kind to her, the only person who both knew her as a human and had the context to understand what she'd become, and he hated her. He hated her because he liked Helen, and told her that she couldn't be Helen.

So she stopped trying to be Helen, and embraced being a monster. Reveled in it even. Then Jon wakes up from a six month coma, more monster than person, and tries so hard to cling to the things that mattered to him when he was human. Even with no support, even with the entire archives staff against him, he chooses humanity and compassion over and over again.

And this is a direct threat to Helen's world view. Their stories are entwined. If Jon can continue to be a person even after everything he's been through, then she could have clung to her humanity too, if only she'd tried a little harder. And that terrifies her! She wants to conceptualize herself as someone who was completely overwhelmed by forces beyond her control, who never had a choice but to become a monster. She want's to be an innocent victim. But Jon argues with his actions that they'd both had choices.

And, Jon, in turn, holds out hope that she might make better choices until the very end.

This is the conflict between them for all of season 4 and 5. Jon wants to prove that they can both be decent people, and Helen wants to prove that they were never going to be anything but monsters. This is why she's so devoted to trying to goad Jon into enjoying his newfound godhood. She knows that they are the same, and wants that to mean that he has a spark of evil inside of him, and not that she was always capable of doing good.

When Jon kills her, she loses her life, but wins the argument. Helen is nothing but a dangerous monster who needs to be killed for the good of everyone, and in the moment he decides that, Jon dooms himself to the same fate. Their stories are one and the same. "If i can help her, maybe there's hope for me too." he thought. But he couldn't help her, refused to, even, in the one moment when it actually mattered. And thus, there was never hope for him.

i like that kinger can glow. i liked that he glowed when going down a hallway with pomni. i like that there was no light at the end of the tunnel, so kinger became it, he became the light itself, he guided the way for pomni, comforting her when she needed it, becoming her hope. there was no hope in sight, ever, for him, for his queen, for their relationship, so he created the hope, he became it, and he continued sharing that hope forward.

maybe that’s why kinger never abstracted despite having all means of doing so. despite being pushed down again and again. despite becoming crazy. because in moments of dark, he embraces it. he embraces the darkness, he likes it, he truly thinks in the darkness. and he becomes his own light.

i like that kinger can glow. i like that he wants to glow. i like that he chooses to keep glowing.
