Baldwin would probably cause the painting to be smudged because he's kissing it, kissing your lips, drunk off his mind, tears streaming down his cheek as he spends hours sitting in front of it, talking to the painting as if u still exist, begging u to come back from heaven, even apologising for all he's done, just please- come back, angel...

Meanwhile Salauddin would probably be staring at your portrait angrily. He understands why you had to leave but.... you couldnt have told him where you were goinh? Do you not think he couldve protected you? He wouldve used his whole army, gathered Muslims from all around the world to protect you. Did you... did you not have the least bit faith in him? deep down, he knows u did this to prevent a war between him and baldwin but.... Salauddin wouldve gone to war for you. Happily. This wasnt your decision to make alone. Now, he stands in front of your portrait, he has it in his palace now, and he doesnt say voice it out like baldwin, but he has complaints. HE keeps them inside, mentally talking to you, telling you just how stupid you were for sacrificing yourself, for jumping off that stupid cliff. How u shouldve just- just asked him for help ONCE, and he wouldve fought until his last breath if it meant keeping u safe. In his mind, u sacrificed yourself to protect Baldwin from murdering innocent muslims or anyone else u wouldve seeked help from.

And now? All Salauddin can do is pray for you. He wakes up late into the night and sits on the prayer mat, making dua for you for hours, reading Quran for you, has animals slaughtered on eid on your behalf, even doing charity and hajj (pilgrimage) on your behalf, just so that you can have more good deeds in your name. He still has the chess board u gifted him, but he's stopped playing chess. He never played the game again, it was only a painful reminder of you. The one person who he could never beat.

As for your painting, why it was smudged? Salauddin didnt want anyone to see your beauty, thats why he kept the portrait hidden in his room, but then he feared that one day when he's not around anymore, someone will see you. So, he used a rag soaked in turpentine to smudge your face, but couldnt do more than just the bottom half of your face. He thought that was fine, after all, thats how u did often appear when you were around, wearing a niqaab, a veil that covered your face.

Now that he looks at your eyes, he realises his mistake. He heard the wise tell him-

"Eyes are the windows to the soul."

He now knows it to be true.

cheol: he would be the kind of boyfriend who's whiny and clingy and he's not ashamed about it!!! but despite the child like persona that he puts up, he always takes care of you and he's always always always the first person who'd apologize or remind you both to calm down when things get too heated up.

jeonghan: han would only pull all his pranks in private while he's only a little playful in front of people (unless those people are close to both of you then it doesn't matter); teasing is just his love language, anyway. he knows all the lines he needs to keep and he's secretly scared he'd push you a little too far. he's subtle about his touch too, though you can bet that he's never leaving you alone when you're in the comfort of your apartment aha.

shua: man would do everything for you and i mean everything. he'd take care of you without even thinking bc to him, it's just a given and it's second nature. he's like those people who have everything ready before you even finish the sentence. "do you have--" "here." "what about--" "here."

turns out his dad had moved on from the divorce very quickly. so quickly in fact that his dads new wife, your mom, and you had already been moved into the house. before patrick was even told about any of you. patrick is pissed. not because he really cares about his parents relationships, he couldnt care less, but he's pissed that he now wont have the second floor all to himself. he has to share it with you. not that you're even sharing a bathroom or anything, this house is enormous. but his space is being invaded by some chick he's never even met.

As soon as he’s been forced through cursory introductions (And this is your new stepsister, she’s your age too), he’s slammed his door and locked himself in his room.

He can tell you’ve been snooping— his shit is all off-kilter and scattered. CD’s out of order in his organizer (it’s by genre, then alphabetical, it’s not that hard), DVDs removed from his shelf and stacked on his dresser. His TV turns on to MTV, which he doesn’t fucking watch. It should turn on to Spike, or nothing. Worse, the carton of cigarettes he kept stashed in his bedside table was gone.

So he walks over to your door, which you’ve decorated with fucking stickers and a dry erase sign that you’ve scribbled on in lime green marker (Keep Out!). He shoves the door open and finds you straddling the windowsill, one dangling out the window as you smoke.

“What the fuck, don’t you knock?” You snap.

He grabs the cigarette from your mouth and you slap at his arm. It tastes faintly like marshmallows, must be from your sparkly lipgloss. “Keep the fuck out of my room,” he says firmly, exhaling smoke into the air. Your room smells like fresh paint— he realizes then you’ve painted the walls pink. “And buy your own fucking cigarettes.”

You look at him, roll your eyes. “We’re siblings now, we’re supposed to share,” you deadpan. He grits his teeth. Because you’re wearing one of his shirts, you’ve got one of his CD players on your dresser playing the Pussycat Dolls. You climb back inside the window and he swallows hard at the sight of your shorts all ridden up.

You have a nice ass, honestly— he stares at it when you bend over to grab the rest of the carton. When you turn, his reaction time is delayed. You sneer when you realize what he was doing. “Take your cigarettes back, perv.”

You shove him out of the room and slam the door in his face. He grins. You’re pretty hot when you’re annoyed with him.

That weekend, you’re in a study that had been repurposed into a game room— big TV, ping pong table, a big, caved in couch. You’re curled up beneath a blanket watching some movie he’s never heard of.

I'm sorry for the surprise, but I felt that was how the line had the most impact. I actually forgot to put Kody in the tags at all lol I will amend that. Yeah I wanted to line to come on fast, since that is often how these things happen. That single moment changed a lot for Freelancer, and so it abruptly changes the tone of the chapter. I'm so glad you liked it.

And yay Caelum!! He's a cutey, even when he's traumatized and in shock lol. He's for sure better off with Gav and FL, and Gavin will spare no expense when it comes to Caelum. He makes his fair share of money and he won't let Caelum want for anything ever again. It does result in Caelum being spoiled, but that's neither here nor there.

Freelancer is Capable and once they past their insecurity, they show it. Their greatest strength as a medical professional is their empathy, same as Brachium. The fact that they put their whole heart into things. The person who can help Darlin' through this moment is only that person because they were victimized. They can use that for good now. Not that that's required, of course, just how Freelancer prefers to deal with it.

Now He Is Done With Me

So, last night my husband arrived home with our son at 10:15pm. For over 8 hrs, our son was with him and all it looks like they had to eat was a small bag of popcorn that they both shared. I saw the bag with some of it in the trash can in our kitchen. Around 10:30 pm he was eating dinner. They woke me up when they got home (I had gone to bed around 9:15pm). I could not go back to sleep.

I was still awake past 4 am. I had been piddling around and reading and watching some videos on my phone when my husband came in. I didnt get much sleep. In the morning, my husband took our son to the meeting without me. He did not give him breakfast. I did feel ok about it though because I was hoping our son was not that hungry anywayvsince they had eaten a late dinner. Just proves my fear that if it depended on my husband alone, our son would skip mealsand be made to fast regularly.

For the past few days he made occasional attempts to show interest in me, dropping crumbs. For so many years, dropping crumbs worked. I felt so happy to be given the slightest attention, so hopeful that it would lead to a better relationship, that I would immediately act like all was well and so we could move forward in the right direction. Problem was, things never moved in the right direction for longer than 48 hours. The exact same dismissive attitudes, uncaring behavior, unloving and selfish treatment always returned. He always reverted back to showing me that he has no love for me. It's a sickening, depressing, anxiety-inducing cycle.

So, these latest attempts were falling flat on me. I thought he was probably just doing things because someone told him to. But his attempts also came after I had learned to 'grey rock' him for an extended period of time. I had been remaining silent, non-reactive to anything he did or said. This is something I started to do because he is making me more concerned about the welfare of our son, and he is starting to regularly take trips for days telling me I can't go and not providing address and names of who he is staying with. I had decided that it was very suspicious and that especially with his history of having at least one extra-marital relationship (evidence of romantic relationship but no evidence found of sexual intercourse) that leaving me and going places without me indicated that he may be cheating again. I also decided that it was probably in my best interest to not have sex with him so I would not be exposed to any STDs should he actually be cheating on me. We had gone weeks without sex.

He started to come in to say goodnight after not speaking to me all day. After the blow out at Carlsbad Caverns, he heard me telling someone else I wanted to go to Colorado. So he asked me if I wanted to go to Colorado for our anniversary. I had no intention of celebrating our anniversary because, frankly, there is nothing to celebrate. He himself did not offer to do it because he values our relationship and wants to celebrate. He was simply going to take me probably so that he could say that he took me somewhere for our anniversary. If any of his friends ask what we did for our anniversary, he could tell them he took me to Colorado. Im sure he is painting a picture for them that Im well and our son is well and we have a good marriage and happy family.

We have no one to watch our son for us, by the way, and he wasn't planning to spend money on hiring a sitter. So our son would have been going with us on our weekend anniversary trip to Colorado. I told him that I didn't want to go. So he can flip out because I feed our son a meal or snack? Im tired of going places with him and being scared of how he will treat me and our son, wondering if he will abandon us or endanger us, how he will abuse us away from home.

Mind you, he is talking about an anniversary trip to Colorado and coming in to hug me at night all of a sudden when he has recently lied to me about our joint tax refund refusing to give me a copy, and telling me I can't go with him to the UK or to his Nigerian get-together with his friends in Georgia, and refusing to honor his promise to take me stargazing because he became furious when I gave our son two 60 calorie fruit snack packs when our son had not eaten much that day and had good behavior.

So, we didn't go. No sex. I'm learning to accept that he will not change. I want to break this endless cycle of being mistreated and acting like eveything is fine when he wants to have sex. I want to set boundaries to protect myself. I have to regain and protect my sanity. He came in one day, acting like he wanted to talk.

For ten years, our talking has been pointless because he is only interested in talking himself, not listening. He is not interested in true communication. He is interested in dictating to me how he wants things to be. He is interested in me adopting his thoughts and beliefs and never disagreeing with him. Disagreeing becomes a debate to win for him. Talking to him has always led to yelling, insulting, and devaluing me. He doesn't talk to resolve issues and compromise. He talks to inflict pain, to add gasoline to a fire. His talk is empty and circular, often nonsensical, and I just end up frustrated trying to explain to him what he is pretending not to understand. Talking is gaslight time for him.

Plus, why would I talk to a person who lies to me so often and freely. I told him he wasnt honest. He asked me, "about what?" He was fishing to see what I knew he was lying about without admitting he was lying. There are so many things he ies about or leaves me in the dark about. Like the tax return. Like sending money to people in Nigeria. I told him I didn't want to talk. Why, I asked him.

He actually said so we can be more than roommates. I've said that we are like roommates time and again and begged him to work with me, listen to me, compromise with me so that we could apply Bible principles and be more than roommates. He has never been interested. Nor was he truly interested this time.

It was like he was trying to butter me up so that he could have sex with me right before he leaves for the UK . He is never interested in fixing our marriage. He is never truly interested in my feelings. So I had been rebuffing him. He was trying to have sex. I was trying not to have sex. But I knew the inevitable would come.

Early this morning when I couldn't sleep, he came into the bedroom just trying to have sex. No questions like, "Why are you still up? Are you OK?" Just being touchy- feely. I told him that I had been up since they got back at 10:15pm, that they had woken me up. He quickly said, 'sorry'. But he proceeded to try to have sex with me. He didn't care that I wasn't getting enough sleep and would probably miss the meeting. All he cared about was sex. Ultimately, I did not have sex with him. I told him he wanted to have sex but didn't want to tell me the truth and didn't want to take me to the UK with him. He said we could go to the UK another time. I told him that I don't know who he is with or what he is doing when he tells me I can't come with him and doesn't even tell me where he is going exactly, and therefor didn't know if he could be cheating on me and would give me STD.

Eventually, he left the room. Now, I realize that by denying him sex this would cause major problems. Because, in his mind, only he can and should deny me and our son of anything he chooses. He is justified to do so for any reason he likes. We,on the other hand, are obligated to comply with any demand he makes even if it is to our detriment. Noncompliance is never tolerated well. This is an insult to him, a great offense that cannot be forgiven. There is not valid excuse for me to not have sex with him. He can unapologeticallytreat me like a doormat or trash, but I must still have sex with him. He accepts no responsibility for why I would be in fear of him cheating on me any possibly giving me an STD. He said that offended him. But he can't see why I'm offended by him lying to me and telling me I can't go with him to gatherings of friends and to the UK for a friend's wedding.

Basically, he is done with me. If Im not putting out, and he us already good with his citizenship, what use do I have? He certainly isnt willing to adjust a thing about himself to save our marriage and family. He has worked exceedingly hard to own a business, but far, far less energy is put into our marriage. He told me he would divorce me now if it weren't for our son. So, as soon as our son is 18, he is divorcing me. He doesnt care about making things easier on our son. He probably thinks he is going to try to avoid having to pay child support to me by waiting until our son is 18.

When I first got married as a Jehovah's Witness, the idea of divorce was so foreign. It's shocking to me that I'm facing divorce. The way I have been treated by my husband,a fellow Jehovah's Witness, has been exceedingly shocking and devastating to me. I have been traumatized beyond measure. I wish I were a stronger person.

I’m about 5’5, dark blue eyes, medium length hair thats kinda too dark to be dirty blonde but not so dark that its light brown with slightly lighter blonde highlights throughout. I do get pretty anxious when thrown in certain situations rather that be talking to a group of people or just one person. Basically I will always find something to talk about though I do enjoy listening to other people talk. I am considered the mom friend because I tend to be the most logical. And despite all the anxiety I am usually a relatively confident person and am not afraid to take up for anyone I care about. Also I am pretty good in school despite having a kinda bad memory. I absolutely love writing and have for the longest time rather that be random original stories I make up or the various fanfics I have(lol). I also love drawing and painting and recently realized I’m actually pretty good at making art related to animals and the occasional landscape. I also really enjoy reading when I get the chance, like I could spend hours getting consumed by whatever I’m reading. Which also travels into me when I’m watching things. As in I spend a good bit of time just binge watching new or old shows. I also really like walking around and enjoying nature. Theres a few nature trails I love going on and would go to the zoo every weekend if I had the chance. Which also goes along to my love for animals. i think damon has an appreciation for the arts. he’s not a journalist like stefan is, but there’s something about the way words can be used to express things in ways your otherwise can’t. there’s something in poetry, paintings, music, anything that involves a deeper meaning you half to look for, that he’d find interesting. hes definitely an appreciator of poetic justice, that much is clear. you showing an interest in the arts would be another thing he’d find himself drawn to you about. nobody really takes the time to notice the things damon entertains himself with. he’s lived a long life, and he’s had to do something to fill the time. reading a really good book or finding a piece of art to display in the boarding house isn’t beneath him. he’s got a giant library, he might as well fill it. as film and tv developed, im sure there’s a few good things about them that he’d find interesting too.

i don’t think he’s a nature person. hes not an animal person, and he wouldn’t enjoy going for walks. but he’s definitely put up with it to please you. he might even find a bit of enjoyment in it when he saw that it made you smile. and since he’d oblige you and come with you on trips, hed want to take you on trips of his own. there’s so many places he’s been that he’d know you’d love and want to see, and he’d want to be the one to take you there.

you’d get out of town every once in a while, leaving mystic falls for a few days to see something new. you’d make a few stops along the way, your destination being new york, quite different from small town virginia. damon would drive, of course, leaving you in the passenger seat. your bags would be packed, and you’d bring a book along with you, just for the journey. you’d talk amongst yourselves for a while, but you’d eventually fall into a comfortable silence, and you’d pull out a book. soft music would be streaming through the speakers, and he’d tap his fingers along the steering wheel while you passed through empty towns.

you strike me as the kind of person who’d say “cows!” when you passed a cow field (me too, and they’re everywhere where i live.) damon would find them less than impressive, but it was cute when you’d do it. you’d be too busy reading, so he’d whistle, getting your attention. you’d look up, and he’d nod his head towards the window.

“cows!” you’d say excitedly, and he’d slow down so you could get a better look at them.

he couldn’t help but smile, shaking his head. “i knew you’d do that.”

you’d close your book, laying it in the back seat. he’d step on the gas, going a little faster.

“i think you’ll find that book a lot more interesting than this road,” he’d sigh, laying back against his seat. “i forgot about this stretch of road. pretty miserable.”

you’d shrug, turning to face him. “beats sitting in traffic. and i’ve never been here, this town has pretty fields.”

you’d never fail to surprise him. he didn’t see what all of the excitement was about, but you certainly made the more boring parts of road-tripping enjoyable.

“my book is pretty good,” you’d say, turning down the radio just a little bit so you could talk.

“it better be,” he’d grin, glancing over at you. “i’ll happily take the credit. i’m the one who put it in the library. haven’t read it in probably a century, but i’m sure it still holds up.”

Jeff doesn't really do much at the beach

The salt water irritates his skin and he burns easily, doesn't want too deal with it

Spends most of his time asleep

Hogs all the damn towels by sprawling out all over all of them

Gets sand over everything that they brought with them

Forgets how wind works and it gets everywhere

When its time for some of em too go get food, he always fucking goes

Wants too walk around and do something, and maybe not get blamed for all the fucking sand when everyone sits back down

While getting the food he has a brilliant idea

Lures them back too their umbrellas and just vibes with his bird army

first off I know like he doesn't go swimming

but imagine if he did

his fucking goggles get filled up with blood

gets weird ass tan lines from the blood on his face like, when he's not swimming

has too wear the goggles when he puts on sunscreen-

and those arm floatie things despite not going anywhere near the water

He tries too sit around Jeff but that gets boring fast-

Toby is very excited too go to the beach

He didn't get out much as a kid

Siked as hell too get in the water

Drops his stuff off as soon as possible and runs right into the water

And thats when he realizes he can't fucking swim

Awkwardly flaps his arms around until a wave moves him along too back where he can stand

Everyones kinda confused when he comes back like "?? You were so excited, what happened?"

Cody volunteers to teach him right away, like the great brother he is

The thing is Cody is a horrible fucking teacher

Another few minutes of Toby getting owned by some waves and Cody just screaming stuff like

"Use your arms Toby- no not like that how I showed you- no I'm not going too help how are you supposed to learn-"

That's when Kate drags him back too shore and Doby and Brian teach him instead

In a bit he learns and ends up having a lot of fun

A lot easier then surfing but still a good time

Also they have too tie a red scarf around his arm so they don't loose his ass in a crowd, or in the water

so far, Doby's the only one on this list who actually came prepared

I feel like he'd use one of those face lotions that has SPF 30 in it already?

Smart enough so he doesn't have too smear sun screen around his face, can just use the spray stuff and get going

Also has shoes and sunglasses too go with each like swimsuit/outfit he brings

Really likes collecting shells and stuff

Walks with Sally, shows her how too find them

Wakes up kinda early as it is? So its easy for him too go too the beach early and find the shells before the tide pulls them back out

It's one of his favorite times, actually

The suns just rising, a few shops are opening, only a handful of people are on the beach

Does it everyday as his "alone time" before everyone else wakes up

Spends most of his time with everyone kinda relaxing?

I can see him really liking those beach volleyball games

Or just playing frizbee in the shallow water!

Really, really enjoys making sand castles

Builds a moat and everything so it stays up when the waves start coming closer

Cody, another kid who never got much beach expierence

But acts like he did

Buys one of those waterproof, phone lanyard things

Forgets too fucking close it properly

Doesn't have the first idea of what seagulls are like

Refuses too eat on the beach after that

Until a wave slaps him in the back of the head

And then he gets scared of the deepwater too

After he looses Swimming Coach privellages gets really fucking salty and sulks on the beach

Kate takes pity on him and walks around the boardwalk with him

But he also didn't know you have too reapply sunscreen after you go swimming

Gets really really bad sunburn

Jeff, Ben and Toby take turns slapping it whenever he gets too cocky

Favorite time is when it's dark and they go

Not for a long time, just a few minutes too walk along the shore before it gets dark
