After the events of A Matter of Loaf and Death, we don't really see Fluffles again unfortunately so I thought, what if she decided to go up for adoption again? Obviously she was very traumatized by Piella, and I think after some encouragement she'd be able to open herself up to being owned again eventually! I guess you could say she's a rescue, and through patience and love she eventually begins to heal!

I'm thinking the catch is that she's adopted by someone who lives far away, so Gromit has to let her go in order for her to heal. They still keep in touch through letters, though! And one day he gets a letter saying that Fluffles and her human are gonna be moving in on Wallaby street soon! She's a gentle artist, she moved to England from America to paint landscapes and such and she's a very kind and kinda goofy older lady. Definitely a great dog mom to Fluffles!

full story of what happened in office hours 2 days ago and how i accidentally rizzed up the TA who is also my crush

*note: FAAM stands for "fine ass asian man" who is like, an acquaintance of mine idk

okay mind you this happened only 2 days ago bruh. okay buckle up cuz i cant stop thinking abt it 😭 so me and FAAM went to this review session for our midterm that was wednessday (i got a 75% btw) anddd i only went bc my crush who is also the TA was going to be teaching. soooo i came into the room and mans was sitting in the front so he didnt notice me, but later on he got to the blackboard and started yk teaching shit, and i made sure i was consistently looking at him to see if he'll look at me anddd i think he did like 3 times. not that many tbh anyways after review session we had office hours in a differrent room, so me and FAAM immediately head to office hours, and they have this annoying queueing system and there were A LOTTT of ppl in offce hrs that night, the room was full and there were only 4 TA's, and i only had my eyes on one guy HAHAHA ok so i mind u office hrs was from 6 - 8pm. i couldnt get help from him and i was waiting and waiting and waiting and me and FAAM kept talking abt him while he was in the room omfg 😭 FAAM was like 'wait so its him?' and he proceeded to point to the wrong TA and i was like, bruh FUCK no ITS NOT HIM DUMBASS like i think our behavior was hella obvious in hindsight bc we were literally talking abt him in front of himmmm bro 😭 FAAM was like 'you should go talk to him' BRO STFU YOU KNOW IM NOT! and i was likeeee 'what do u think of 'eagle' for my nickname for him?' I love future..... it's fun it's tragic it's got swag it's INCREDIBLY smart. I really love times (its bit in s1, when it talks to brady abt young in s5) when it tricks/confuses people without needing any lies: it speaks openly, and you see what you expect to see, scrambling for What It All means. “I’m telling you I’m fine!” Childe scoffs as his friend insists on shoving him in the direction of the nurse’s office. He hisses when a particularly sharp jab is directed into his side and his friend huffs, clearly satisfied at the reaction and annoyed at Childe’s reluctance to get himself checked.

“Fine, you say. You have to stop picking fights when you know you can avoid them.” Kaeya chuckles, knowing this’ll just go in one ear and out the other with him, but it never hurt to try. Especially with the recent information that allowed the blue-haired student to have the upperhand.

A smirk appears on his face and Childe raises an eyebrow in confusion and wariness. “What?”

Kaeya shrugs, a mischievous grin now overtaking his features as he walks ahead of the other. “I suppose that y/n will be sitting alone in the office, waiting for the bell to ring for their next class.” He doesn’t have to turn around to see Childe stop his tracks as he takes in the information.

“Th... They’re in the nurse’s office?” Childe looks up slowly to see Kaeya tilt his head, “Are you messing with me right now?” Kaeya only laughs and walks away, waving his hand in the air. 

“I mean, I did say you should get yourself checked but if you don’t want to then--” Childe doesn’t hear the rest of his friend’s statement as he limps over to the room where you were waiting.

It wasn’t like you knew he would walk in with “minor” injuries, as he says,  and a bright smile on his face that he only seemed to have whenever he was around you.

Diluc

This is hopeless.

Diluc leans back in his seat during the break they’re given and stares out the window to see you walking with your friends. They must have said something funny to have you laughing, a light look on your face that has his cheeks dusted pink in seconds. 

His ears pick up the scraping of a chair on the floor and he flips his notebook closed to hide the small notes of practice confessions he wrote while he should have been listening in on the lesson. It was none other than Lisa who seemed quite cheerful in contrast to himself.

“Whatcha thinking about?” She nods her head over to his hastily closed notebook as she smiles knowingly at the warmth on his face. Her voice is considerably louder with her next statement that has him nearly shutting her up with his own hands, “Could it be about your dear, sweet y/n?”

Her voice tapers off at the end so the rest of their classmates couldn’t hear the name, but their stares indicated their intrigue. It was very surprising for the ever cold and stoic Diluc Ragnvindr to have a crush on someone. Many have confessed, and all were rejected, and they assumed there would be nothing to be done to win his heart.

That is, unless you were y/n l/n.

His classmates shudder at the glare he gives them and return to their own conversations. He wasn’t mad, just slightly embarassed.

Lisa deems his current state finished for her daily teasing and leans in to give him a word of advice. But really, it was yet another word of truth that he could choose to believe or not.

“I have a feeling that they feel the same about you.” She leaves with a little hint of a smile and Diluc is left to his thoughts once more. He ponders over her words, generally the same ones he hears from her whenever she sees he’s thinking of you. And it’s important to note that Lisa has good intuition.

Maybe his plan to confess wouldn’t be so hopeless after all.

Xiao

To be able to hang out and keep up someone like his closest friend took all Xiao had in himself for social interaction. It wasn’t like he absolutely hated it, but he preferred to not speak to anyone lest they get the wrong idea from his “normal” tone of voice.

Venti shoves another book in his face to look at and he scowls at the title, “How to Date The Person You’ve Been Pining Over For Years Now.” Why was there a book like this in the school library and who the hell decided that this was a good title to go through publication? Now, Xiao would never admit it to being true because he hated how he felt very called out at the moment.

“The books don’t lie, my good friend.” Venti muses, placing the book in his arms before skipping off to avoid it being shoved back at him. Xiao sighs and tries to find its place on the shelf only to realize that he is now left alone in the self-help section. He can’t call out Venti’s name now, assuming that the other had gone far now to seek his own genres he had been looking for. 

Xiao had been teased for this little crush on you for years now, which probably has grown to be a full blown one by now, and he never found the courage to do anything about it. For now though, he was perfectly fine with being able to wave hello to you in the hallways or have a small chat when you would be partnered together for class activities.

Just thinking about you makes him the slightest bit giddy inside.

His wandering thoughts along with finding the book’s place is cut short when the library doors open and you step in. His face lights up for a moment before it is replaced with narrowed eyes when Venti skips up to you. The boy whispers in your ear and you smile, sending Xiao into yet another state of being flustered at the little things you do.

His chat is 50/50 simps for him, and then just people who think hes an absolute menace to society and want to watch him literally destroy the world.

An invite to ayato’s house to do a cooking stream was so exciting! You’ve hung out in person of course, but never at ayato’s house since he always said it was a little too messy. Walking in you see this pristine, and luxurious modern home, that is.. mostly white, with lighter blue furniture. “Ah, [name] sorry my house is a little messy, thank you for coming though!” This is messy?! You think over ayato’s words as he guides you to the kitchen which is even nicer than the entrance. You see ayaka who’s setting up a camera, and ingredients just… laid out and ready. “Wow. this. this is self indulgent brainrot. i don’t have to tell you its ralbert i Know you know that. blame @oof-musicals for the fact i started thinking about this again but tbf it’s been in my brain since like. october. cause world series things. unimportant

so. i’m finally writing it. it’s 2:30am as i’m starting this so if it doesn’t make sense take it up with god or something idk man

he started playing t ball when he was like. 4. he’s been all in ever since

he played catcher once he was old enough for that to be A Thing, but it fucked up his knees, so he plays shortstop

mush is their highschool team’s catcher. finch is second base. jack’s first base. specs is third base. davey pitches with sniper and henry. the brooklyn boys are outfield. that’s all you really gotta know for this rn

most importantly for our story, you have to know that albert’s best friends are his teammates, specifically jack and finch

jack, in particular, has two brothers, one older and one younger

charlie’s the oldest, he graduated highschool two years ago and is working on getting his degree in primary education

jack’s a junior, a year ahead of al, and his entire life is baseball, painting, and his boyfriend davey (you might have noticed he’s a pitcher too. jack’s excuse is that pitchers are hot and yk what he’s kinda right.)

race, the youngest, the one jack refers to as his “baby brother” often enough his teammates are convinced he’s like,,,, 8? yeah, that’s toni higgins, he’s a sophomore and the guy albert’s had a crush on since the first time he saw him when he switched schools in 8th grade

the thing is, jack and his brothers were all adopted, and they were old enough to choose to keep their last names if they wanted. race did, and so did jack, so albert has no way of knowing the “toni” jack is talking about is racetrack fucking higgins

well. until jack mentions charlie being in town for the week, and that his brothers are coming for the end of practice before they go get dinner

yeah, imagine everyone’s surprise when there’s no eight year old kid

and imagine albert’s surprise when race is the one in place of said fictional eight year old

and uh. race may or may not start showing up to more practices and games

and by more i mean All Of Them

and it’s not for jack kelly, that’s for sure

and race and al do this thing where they just. dance around eachother. for months. it’s actually painful

albert winks and smiles at race when he walks up to home plate before he bats and race wears his jersey at home games and they go get ice cream - by themselves, without the team - after dinner with everyone after games and just.

finch is so fuckin tired of them. he gives albert shit in the dugout during Every Game

“we’re not dating!”

“officially, sure.”

“i’m telling you, bird boy, he doesn’t like he like that!”

“really? then why’s he got your jersey on over there?”

“he’s… he’s just showing his support. y’know.. friend stuff.”

“oh you even know you’re full o’ shit!”

and honestly? yeah, albert does kinda know

he just,,,,,,,,, isnt convinced he has the courage to do anything about it yet

luckily for him, race is an impatient mf that’ll just do it himself

they’re walking back home after getting ice cream, and race is still wearing al’s jersey, and al’s hair is everywhere from his hat and he still has a little eye black smudged across his cheeks and his hand is right there so.

race reaches over and links their fingers and tugs them to a stop. and al looks a little confused, but he’s clearly not letting go, he even squeezes race’s fingers a lil bit as he raises an eyebrow at him

and race never really noticed that albert was taller, or that he has this lil dusting of freckles, or that he’s the slightest bit sunburnt after spending so much time on the field, but Man he’s noticing now that he’s stepping into his space.

“is- uh.. is this ok?”

and albert quite literally feels like he’s having a heart attack, but like… the good kind, if that exists

cause he’s pretty sure this qualifies as race “““making a move””” and he is absolutely okay with that and is, in fact, trying to encourage it but can’t get his brain to work

“yeah, yes, uh. def- definitely okay.”

and then race is getting even closer, and albert’s eyes automatically flick down to his mouth before finding his eyes again, and then

and then they’re kissing

and it’s not a fireworks moment. it’s soft, and sweet, and familiar, even though they’ve definitely never done this before, and it’s. it’s easy. it’s like breathing, it just comes naturally

no, their fireworks moment doesn’t come until later.

conveniently also when their entire team (officially) finds out they’re together. even finch, cause albert refuses to tell him he’s right, and jack, mostly cause he’s unobservant. let’s be real here, they aren’t very subtle and race is a pretty shit liar, but the team still has no hard evidence and that’s good enough for me, stray hickeys albert can’t answer for be damned

it is (of course) the last game of this season, and it’s the end of june so it’s not a reasonable temperature until dusk starts to settle and the lights come on, and there’s a fancy trophy for state waiting for them if they can hold their lead through the 9th

they’re only one run ahead, though, and someone gets a lucky hit off henry and bats the runner that walked and stole second in

and albert makes a beautiful double play to take them to the bottom of the inning, but now they’re tied

and, because it had to be done, albert is fourth at bat for the bottom of the 9th

spot walks cause he’s got a tiny strike zone jack hits up a pop fly they catch easy, and finch gets thrown out at first

and instead of his usual wink and smile, race gets a really nervous look. it’s a tie game, there’s two outs, and albert’s gotta do something or they could be here for more innings than he really cares for

so race mimes an exaggerated breath, and simply mouths

“hit one. for me.”

and with the little smile that comes with it, it’s really the only motivation albert needs

and hit one he does

he cracks the first pitch he’s thrown over the right side fence for all you non-baseball people, that’s the hard way to hit a home run when you bat right handed like albert does and the game is history

after the teams shake hands and coach gets albert 1) his game winning ball and 2) the trophy to hold in the picture, everyone in the stands is officially allowed to flood the field without being considered complete assholes

welcome to the fireworks moment

they can spot each other a mile off blind, and race’s lips are on his before he’s managed to process that he actually ran over to him

and then albert’s arms are tight around his waist, and race has the front of al’s jersey bunched up in his hands, and their mouths are just the slightest bit swollen when they pull away to breathe

and there’s a beat of dead silence

and then finch. oh finch. does everyone a favor and breaks the tension.

“fucking finally, been waiting for one of you to do that”

and jack looks absolutely scandalized, even tho him and davey are worse, shoving both of their shoulders and pretending to be nauseous

Kyuu and why he’s in NRC

some ramblings for kyuu and NRC, specifically on how NRC is a school for villains

this was honestly really fun to write and I wrote so much more than intended. I promise i’ll get around to writing more on kyuu and leona once i’ve splurged out all the lore i want for kyuu rn :D

yk i havent said it here but like, NRC is a school full of villains essentially right, it’d be pretty weird to slap some wholesome and pure-hearted person into NRC- especially when RSA exists lmao

idk i was thinking abt it and yeah, yuusonas and just yuu characters in general are the expection to this cause theyre arent at NRC by choice or really fit in with the rest of the boys in “evilness”

oh also- kyuu here, while I list him as a sona for myself, isnt really the most accurate representation of myself, I put on a lot of negative aspects on him and we certainly wouldn’t act the same way. So maybe listing him as an oc/sona would be far more accurate. He’s based off of me, but I develop him as his on character- using myself for reference. (For when I talk about it: I do not condone bullying and it makes me really uncomfortable to even witness it, empathy ig? i dont really understand it myself, but yeah, that part specifically is purely made for Kyuu and why he’s an NRC boy)

so i present some of the stuff that makes Kyuu an NRC student :)

To him its kinda everyman for himself, he’ll help if its reachable and fairly easy for him, or that person has some great significance to him (aka emotionally important or like, powerful ppl he wants to be on the good side of). But otherwise, he’ll leave that person to just kinda suffer-he’ll offer condolences and be on his way. He’s tries to stay on good terms with Azul for that reason, it’s real easy to pull strings when you’re friends with someone like that, even just a name drop of the tweels or Azul might intimidate some people. He’s never signed a deal but he does work part-time at the Mostro Lounge. He’s incredibly self-sufficient to the point where he will allow himself to sink and refuse to make a peep to others. Professor Trein is basically the only exception- and that took a lot of pondering to take the chance. 

He’s cold, not just in appearance from his resting face, but if he doesn’t know you, theres a good chance he’ll never bother talking to you. Hell he doesn’t like getting involved in stuff like bullying, either being the bully or preventing it- to him it’s free entertainment, the only exception is underclassmen he particularly likes or if they’re in the Equestrian Club with him. Catching Floyd or Jade on a hunt for a student might just make it to his most memorable moment of the day, It’s a bore when all the kids are the same type of roughhousing and mean. His social bubble is small and restrictive- which is why getting such a severe crush on Leona was so significant. If he wanted any type of closure or chance it would force him to interact and actually try to be nice and active with people he doesn’t care about to make some connections. He met Ruggie that way, and while Ruggie saw through him immediately, it definitely worked on other Spelldrive Club members (ahem Epel). Though nowadays he’s far more involved with the first years, he actually tutors (attempts to) Deuce and Ace, and any of the other first years when they need help, so that relation with Epel became a lot more genuine than before. 

Getting into a relationship with Leona didn’t really change much for him, besides the whole independency thing. A brief side note-I find it really unbelievable that overblots don’t have some sort of intense recovery period, which for my purposes I say they do. Even after a week or two you still feel the effects of the blot, maybe even a physical manifestation of blot, throwing it up or choking on it at its worst. Kyuu and Leona got together a mere days after Leona overblotted, it was a moment of fear for Kyuu- Kyuu being amongst the crowd when it happened, and Leona being pretty emotionally vulnerable afterwards and was forced to admit and re-confront lifelong doubts and pains. Leona ended up needing to do check-ups in the infirmary, having to stay a night when the blot afterwards had surged back and Ruggie forced him to actually get help. Kyuu ended up visiting the infirmary at the time, and well, they confessed. (This is something I’ll probably write about later, especially how I think it would go from Leona’s side bc I think that’s interesting lmao.) This, quite frankly, is a pretty awkward way to start a relationship. It took a lot of time to truly get comfortable around each other and begin to open up emotionally. Bringing this back around to how it changed Kyuu’s whole sever emotional independence, they were close enough that it made Kyuu actually talk. Leona doesn’t pry or force more out of Kyuu than necesarry- and that helps so much in making him feel like he can drop it into conversations (where appropriate of course.) That pressure of making it feel like it’s a big deal is crippling to him.

Do you think Tntduo will ever be explicitly romantic? Like do you think they might kiss and date for a bit? Because I can see it happening but then my question is will their relationship be explored if they do date??? Or will it be more of a background thing. Because I can see it going both ways. The thing with most dsmp canon romantic relationships (with the exception of maybe awesamponk) is that most of the time, they're usually very under-explored and just left in the background(not that that's a bad thing, I actually quite like this approach to it, feels domestic and realistic yknow?), this is probably because most CCs dont want to and/or aren't comfortable with fully committing to roleplaying dating their friend's character(which is completely valid and understandable btw). That being said, the thing that could potenially make Tntduo have a different execution than most dsmp romantic relationships is the fact that the two main characters involved in the relationship are played by two CCs who are extremely removed from their characters(also two CCs who happen to be some of best actors on the dsmp). Idk man, I feel like Tntduo has potential to be a fully explored type of thing yknow(I know I'm getting my hopes up when it's probably not going to happen but in my humble defense, their characters relationship is so fascinating and intriguing, it'd be a shame if they did nothing with it).

Oh also I should mention, the other thing that's giving me hope that Tntduo could get more explored is the fact that Tntduo rn is already kind of breaking the usual dsmp romantic relationship mold? By having like actual build up? And like an actual scene of a character admitting or in this case, implying that they might be romantically attracted to the other character(ngl, I'm still trying to process the fact that c! Tommy asking c! Wilbur if he has a crush on C! Quackity and C! Wilbur basically responding with "its complicated lol but I don't think I have a crush on him yet" is something that happened canonically. Idk it has the vibes of that trope scene in fanfiction where the younger sibling/best friend/side kick of the main character asks them if they have a crush on the main love interest and the main character gets flustered or something and denies it) Okay that's it for now. As for explicit romance, I think with what we've seen so far, there's no reason to rule it out if this was say.... a slow burn, with a lot of development to it. I feel like date is not the word I would use for this dynamic, however, I imagine it heading more in a.... 'I love you but we'll always be rivals' sorta direction.

They're not really... the dating types, I'd say, not after all that has happened to them. So a kiss, maybe, if that's something the CCs are still comfortable portraying, but dating? I'm not so sure, especially in their current states.

Though a relationship is different - at least for how I see it :P - if they got together, now that's something I could see more than anything like dating (which implies going on dates, which I just cannot see them doing, you know? sfdjghhfd)

But if this is a subplot, and not something wholly important to the main plot, then I could see it as a background thing that matters sometimes.

I do agree, I can see it going both ways. I can see this going a lot of ways, because this is only at the beginning, with longing sighs and Alivebur saying he doesn't have a crush yet (which still wtf does that mean).

I do feel you're right, Anon, that this has the potential to be explored, especially because we know cc!Wilbur and cc!Quackity have been writing lore together, this could be something that's got a long plan and will be fully explored. I mean, already it's so different to anything else we've seen, with full on pining peppered throughout an entire hour. I refuse to believe that's a mistake, it's feels too calculated, too perfectly set up.

So yeah, while I am just as concerned about getting my hopes up as you, Anon, I honestly do think this has the potential to go somewhere, whether its down an unrequited crush/love route, or an eventual relationship after a slow burn.

it was sports day at your school and most of the events were over and done with but the teachers didnt allow anyone to leave yet cuz,,,, reasons✨

which is why some of the students kinda just flocked to the gym to chill and maybe play around

that was until somebody suggested they host an unofficial, volleyball game

the net was still up nobody bothered to put it down so yeaahhh

rules of the game were simple: there were none, except keep the ball in the air and get it over the net…however you can

at first only a few ppl played… the “energetic” and “athletic” ones and it still seemed like a typical volleyball game

then more ppl started joining

and it slowly started getting more chaotic

it got to the point where the entire gym was the court

there were ppl running around chasing the ball, others just hitting it as hard as they can in practically any direction, then there were those who just stood there cuz everyone else was standing there so why not ??

now sakusa didn’t want to be there

he was tired because his class had signed him up for ALL the running events

why? well cuz he was tHe OnLy AtHLeCtiC PeRsOn in his class

utter bullshit btw

he plays volleyball hes not a runner

but still ended up winning tons of races just cuz… it was him💅✨ no explanation needed

n e wayss he was tired and wanted nothing more than to go home and take a nice long shower

you were outside with one of your friends when the whole volleyball thing started and only came to the gym cuz the rest of your friends were in there

so you walked in, scanned the crowd, immediately noticed your crush *cough*sakusa*cough* and then found your friends standing in a group on the other side of the gym

now here’s the thing

sakusa has a crush™️ on you too. took him a while to realize and accept it but he did and now he officially has a crush on you

he just hadn’t really gotten around to the idea of asking you out or anything

mainly cuz he just very recently realized his feelings aka last night he was thinking about all the events he had to do for sports day and he groaned cuz ppl made him do it but then he realized ppl wasn’t actually ppl it was just you

you were the one who smiled at him and said “why not sakkun,, it’d be fun” and like that he agreed. then he realized further he actually thought about you a lot. like earlier he was thinking about how’d you look tmr since u weren’t gonna be in normal school uniform and you’d have your hair all done. and then he realized he was looking forward to seeing you which led him to realize you were one of the few ppl he actually enjoyed being around. THEN he fucking finally realized “oh… i have a crush…. on y/n……. oh”

somewhat conflicted abt it for the entirety of the day,,, bois experiencing feels for u ofc its gonna take some time >.<

he didn’t get to talk to you all day though,,,,,, he was busy with his own events and you were elsewhere

either way,, when he saw you walking past in the gym he kind of lost focus

all that, the spike hitting you, you falling, your being escorted to the clinic,,,,, that happened in like 2 seconds

he didn’t even have time to say anything yet

to make matters worse, some random ass guy was the one who came and swept you out of the gym

sure your friend was with you but to sakusa,,, that guy sus af

after they left, the game continued and sakusa rlly didn’t feel like playing anymore

he wanted to make sure you were okay and wanted to apologize 

however,,,, the teachers came in shortly after and told them it was time for the closing ceremony

throughout the entire thing, his eyes flit through the crowds looking for you

after the ceremony was over,, he went to the clinic but you weren’t there

figured he’d just pull you aside tmr and apologize then

he walked up to you and asked if you two could talk in private for a bit

your friends shot glances at each other. he saw,, but he didnt let it bother him

anyways,, he led you out into the hall and in the softest tone he could manage he says, “about yesterday… i’m really sorry, spiked the ball a bit too hard.. how are you feeling?”

you tell him ur fine,, just that it aches a bit but nothing serious

he nods and mutters another ‘sorry..’

then this happened:

“no it’s ok you don’t have to be so sorry. accidents happen.”

“it wasn’t an accident tho..? so im sorry, it wont happen again.”

“yeah ok,, wAIT WHAT?? wdym not an accident?!?? u spiked the ball into my face on purpose?!?!!?!?”

“WHAT NO- ofc not. i just,,, i kind of lost focus… on other things… at the time… and yeah”

“Have you guys worked out who it could be yet?” Her eyes were wide at Billy.

“Billy says he thinks its a guy even though people with penises aren’t necessarily men.” Robin gave him a pointed look.

“Yeah Robin, I know that, but, I don’t know I just think it’s a guy penis-having person.”

Heather narrowed her eyes at him. “Do you actually think that, or are you just hoping in that goblin little brain of yours that this account is Steve Harrington’s.” Billy could feel the heat spread down his neck.

“Billy, I know Steve is like, the only out guy in this whole fucking town, but you can do way better than him.  PLUS, I feel like it makes more sense if the person running this account wasn’t out and had to channel their gay yearning through social media.”

“First of all Robin, you have this vendetta against Steve that I don’t get. He’s a nice guy. He’s kinda dopey, kinda dumb, but he’s like, sweet and shit. Second, I’m not out, so it still could be him because he doesn’t think I would, like, accept his advances or whatever. Hence, gay internet yearning.” The chime of the bell sent them packing their lunches, Billy’s phone vibrated in Robin’s hand. She rolled her eyes when he realized he turned on notifications for the account

“Get a fucking life you loser.” She slapped the phone into his hand. He opened the new tweet with embarrassing zeal.

His head shot up, trying to see who would have been facing him during lunch, but the cafeteria was almost empty.

The rest of the week Billy took deliberate care of every interaction he had with anyone. Observing who was in his surroundings, and making note of everything he did and said. He took extra caution around Steve, wanting to spot any minute detail that could give away who ran the account.

The account started blowing up. People were retweeting like fucking crazy. Everywhere he went, he was being asked if he’s seen it, like he doesn’t regularly retweet the good ones. The search for the owner of the account had spread throughout the whole school. A few girls even tried to claim the account was theirs, but every time that happened the account would tweet out something to discredit whoever made the claim, proving them a liar.

Billy was starting to lose hope it was Harrington. The tweets were coming at all different times, posted whenever the person thought about it, so Billy was losing track of who was near when he said or did something. And the tweets were always about stupid stuff Billy didn’t register doing. On Wednesday night the account said

But Saturday, Saturday renewed all hope for Harrington Billy could possibly have. Lauren Kranz was throwing a party. It was the first real rager in a while, so everyone was there, and everyone was sloshed. Everyone but Billy, who’d agreed to be designated driver for Robin and Heather like some kinda idiot.

He was brooding on the back porch when his phone went off. The account was active, and the owner was drunk.

He was right about it being a guy. He was right about him being too nervous to approach him outright. His brain was screaming stevestevesteve at him. Hawkins was shook when Steve came out as bisexual in his sophomore year. He was the golden boy, a real jock. He was NOT the kind of guy people would assume queer in a small midwestern town.

He was kind of a douchebag, dumping one girl for another, sleeping with her and never calling again. But then he settled down with this guy from the University of Indianapolis for a few months until Steve caught him cheating. Apparently, he had slashed the guy’s tires. Billy was impressed.

The next year came Wheeler, who only stuck around long enough to make sure Steve was nice and whipped before she fucked off on him too. So Steve retreated. Spent more time with middle schoolers than anybody else. Didn’t want to put his heart on the line anymore until he knew it wouldn’t be stomped on.  Billy could respect that.

Billy couldn’t risk being out in a town like Hawkins. Word always had a way of getting right back to his dad, and in a tiny hick town with nothing better to do than gossip, it was usually only a matter of hours before Neil heard something he didn’t like.

Billy’s heart stopped. The drunken idiot was giving himself away. Maybe if he sat here staring at the account long enough, enough would be revealed he could figure it all out like a shitty drunk episode of Blue’s Clues.

He was so focused on Twitter, refreshing his feed, again and again, he didn’t notice a very drunk, and very unsteady Steve Harrington stumbling out the back door towards him. Until he crashed into his back.

“Sorry, Bill!” Billy had Steve by the shoulders trying to keep him upright. “Heyy I have a question for you.” Steve grabbed one of Billy’s hands and veered over to the table and chairs arranged neatly on the small patio. When they were sitting, Steve kept ahold of Billy’s hand.

“Hi.” Steve was smiling like a little kid. Billy was in fucking love.

“hey, Harrington. What was your question.”

“So-oo. I have this friend. A very good friend. Super close. And he has a big ol’ crush on you but he’s too scared to ask you himself because he keeps getting his heart fuckin’ broken so he wanted me to ask. Are you into guys?” It’s a miracle Billy understood any of that, every word blending into the next.

“That depends.” Billy leaned in, running his tongue along his bottom lip. He saw Steve take in a sharp breath, following the movement with his glazed eyes. He knew Steve was talking about himself, he just wanted to rile him up a little. Make him blush first. “This friend you’re talkin’ about. He’s our age? Like you’re not trying to set me up with one a’ your kids, right?” Steve physically recoiled.

“NO, you fuckin’ pedo. I’m NOT trying to set you up with a fuckin’, fuckin’ middle schooler. My friend is, uh eighteen. He’s a senior.” Unless Tommy fuckin’ H. suddenly had a penchant for dick Billy didn’t know about, Steve was 100% talking about himself.

“Well, if he’s as pretty as you are, I’d love to go out with him sometime.” Billy winked. Steve went red.

“Okay, but like, does that mean you’d go out with me? Like I’m as pretty as me, right? Because I was talking about me. Not ‘a friend’ I was talking about me. Steve.”

“Yeah, I kinda figured that out. You know, I was hoping it was you running that Twitter. Any time you’d tweet out something you wanted to do with me, I was always picturin’ doing it with you, Baby.” Billy was practically purring. “Especially all the shit you wanted me to do TO you.” Steve gave something between a whine and a groan and flopped himself onto Billy’s lap, straddling him with very little grace.

“Thank God. ‘Cause you’re so fucking hot I’d let you do anything to me. Anything, Bill.” Billy smiled softly at him.

“Then let me take you home. Let me put you in bed to sleep off all this. And let me take you to breakfast tomorrow. Something nice and greasy for your hangover tummy.” Steve was a puddle in Billy’s lap. “C’mon, Drunky, git your ass up.” Steve just giggled and muttered Drunky Skunky under his breath.

Billy sighed and stood up, hefting Steve up with him.

“Bil-ly,” Steve whined. “You’re so strong, this is so fucking hot. I gotta tweet about this.”

“Tweet it later, Sweet Thing.”

It took Billy for-fucking-ever to find Robin and Heather (they were making out in the basement with the stoners). But Steve chirped and cooed into his ear, so happy Billy could lift him and hold him like it was nothing.

The last tweet from the account was timestamped from Sunday evening.
