Now that I have sat with my thoughts for a couple of days, I want to talk about some things:

There are too many people trying to defend Caitlyn's actions, so I have to say: NOTHING, and I mean absolutely nothing, justifies fascism. "Oh but she's grieving and blahblahblah" you know who else was grieving?! The mother of the kid Jayce killed in season 1. You know who else?! Vi and Powder that saw enforcers murder their parents, just like many other children from Zaun. Caitlyn destroyed her mother's legacy in the police brutality™️ operation, you understand how fucked up this is? Her mother's recording is saying "the people from Zaun deserve to breathe," and she did it anyways. If you sympathise with Piltover, you're either part of the problem or naïve enough to fall for fascist propaganda.

Ekko is the only real one. Not a single slightly evil bone in his body. Everything he does, he does for his people, not in a persuit of power, or revenge. He's genuinely good, so much so that he's willing to hang out with not only Heimerdinger, but also Jayce just so he could protect his community. He deserves so much better and I'll be heartbroken when he finds out that Vi was involved in Caitlyn's operation.

I don't know how Vi can forgive Caitlyn after what happened. I know I wouldn't. It just goes to show that you cannot trust that privileged people are going to be different just cause they were nice to you. Viktor found that out in season 1 and Vi is finding this out now.

Do you guys think the black rose is gonna pretend to be Mel?! I don't play LOL, but it is to my understanding that the black rose can make clones, so it'd be obvious that they're gonna take Mel's identity

Saw some people on twitter and tiktok (of course they were there) denying that jayvik has heavy romantic undertones by stating "they're friends! They're like brothers! Why everything has to be gay now?" and EVERYTHING HAS TO BE GAY CAUSE I SAID SO, NOW SHUT UP! But seriously though, I understand that to cishet viewers, their relationship might seem strictly platonic, 'cause they lack the eye that we, queer people, have for these things. And that's okay. Not everyone needs to understand the nuances of a homoerotic friendship. But in the same breath, they're quick to say that "Viktor was thinking about Sky, so obviously he's straight" and that pissed me off, cause: 1 - have you looked at him?; 2 - He feels responsible for her death (cause he was)! He's thinking about her because he feels GUILTY! that man was not interested in Sky whatsoever; 3 - it's so heteronormative to think that a man and a woman can't be friends, they're so adamant in denying jayvik cause "they're friends!" but they do the same fucking thing!; and finally 4 - HAVE YOU LOOKED AT HIM???

Anyone that sides with Piltover would probably be a zionist as well. I don't have to explain this.

The trio "Sevika, Jinx and Isha" is probably my favourite thing in Act 1, I just can't get enough of them.

Just a reminder that ne*l didn’t have much to do with dbda…our boys just sort of showed up in a comic he worked on and he didn’t do much of anything on the show…plus the sandman (both tv and comic) had way more people working on it then just him. Good omens (book) was much more terry Prattchet then him and the tv show is much more then just him. As for other works of his (ie. stardust) we just gotta suffer.

You can still, of corse, read the books but make sure to get them from somewhere like a used book store or lent by a friend. Plus there are always other places to read his books that don’t give money to him…

I know that a lot of people looked up to him and he helped many people to accept themselves and that it hurts to loose someone who you looked up to (I’m treating it as if he is dead because my previous image of him was brutally stabbed to death). But he is only a man and there are many other people in the world.

If any one wants to talk about this (wants to rant, wants to just keyboard smash in anger, wants to cry [however you choose to express crying digitally]) feel free to do so. Or if you have anything to add, you can talk about that too. I know writing usually helps me to get through emotions and feel a bit better. Maybe it will work for you too.

Captain Rex is an Aroace KING! (pun intended, he deserves it)

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who's gotten this vibe, but I wanna talk about why because I think it's actually really cool

For me this comes mainly from Clone Wars S2E10 'The Deserter' in which Cut is all “I know you’re jealous of my family” and Rex is like “Well maybe the 501st IS my family! And screw your amatonormative standards, maybe my life as a soldier IS meaningful to me!”

Cut: I’ve seen how you look at my family, our home. Come on Rex, admit it! You’ve thought about what your life could look like if you were to also leave the army. Choose the life you want. Rex: What if I am choosing the life I want? What if I’m staying in the army because it’s meaningful to me? Cut: And how is it meaningful? Rex: Because I’m part of the most pivotal moment in the history of the Republic. If we fail then our children, and their children could be forced to live under an evil I can’t well imagine. Cut: If you were to have children. Of course, but that would be against the rules wouldn't it? Isn’t that what someone programmed you to believe, Captain? Rex: No Cut, it’s simply what I believe. Doesn’t matter if it’s my children or other people’s children.

(I think this bit is especially cool because it specifically shows that Rex's morals and heroism are not dependent on having kids of his own, he is still altruistic and recognizes the importance of protecting the future (he's def got Hunter beat there, not like it's hard tho lol))

Rex: I’ve been in countless battles, and lost many brothers. They were my family. My home.

(okay just break my heart why don't ya)

Cut: You’re welcome to stay, Rex. Rex: This is your home, Cut. My family is elsewhere.

And then he also seems to be the only clone who skipped the Mandalorian dad instincts gene. Like just look at his reaction to kids (it's hilarious) :

And of course, there's how painfully awkward he is when he’s in the remote proximity of romantic shenanigans:

A common misconception we aspecs face is that we are inherently selfish or unfeeling, especially those aroaces who choose not to have traditional families and whatnot. But the ability to feel romantic/sexual attraction, or the desire to act on it has nothing to do with any of that. We still love! We still have connections, I might even argue that we value our familial and platonic connections more than others. And I just think that's reflected so wonderfully in Rex. He's such a good person, he fights for what he believes in. The love and care is so evident, he is the number one best big brother, and there is so much focus on his friendship with Ahsoka.

Ahsoka: The Republic couldn’t have asked for better soldiers, nor I a better friend.

Just the fact that they have such a close bond and it is given so much attention (esp in the finale), without any sort of romance involved is really sweet and honestly amazing

And we see in Rebels that that is a lifelong connection

Wow wow wow look at all the love, emotional depth, and compelling storytelling (other heartbreaking scenes not pictured bc ahhh) we can achieve with non-romantic relationships hmm...

Running with the Rebellion. She's too powerful a symbol to be allowed to take her seat as Duchess back, especially if she decides to work with Bo-Katan; pacifism may be incredibly important to her, but there is a limit to how far you can push someone before they engage in self-defense, and even as ardent a pacifist as Satine will rally her people to survive the Empire. With her and Bo working together, they can do a lot... and that's why the Empire will absolutely not allow either of them to become leader of Mandalore again. (So it goes to Korkie, who the Empire believes is little more than a puppet. They think they know about his little violations of the law, and so they miss the big ones, like smuggling force-sensitive children and O66-survivors away from the Empire.)

She doesn't know Obi-Wan is alive, because Bail forgot to get permission to tell her, until 10 years post-RotS... when Bail invites her to greet "Ben" and Leia on their return to safety on Alderaan. She promises to visit him, if there's a chance.

(She doesn't. Instead, he visits her. Satine is far more likely to be tracked to Tatooine than he is, after all.)

She still doesn't pick up a blaster, though; canon gives us some pretty solid evidence for her PTSD preventing her from being any use at it. However, she's very convincing and is very good at getting on-the-fence politicians on the Rebellion's side... and donating credits, rations, and transports to the cause. (Some even donate weapons. She... tries to ignore that part. She lets it happen, but... it hurts.)

probably yes to all three. i could see him squinting at louise for like a minute straight before nodding approvingly and giving her the most polite and most friendly and also most terrifying shovel talk of her entire life. terry and the yearner on the other hand would probably get a lot more scrutiny, but like. there's a non-zero chance "scrutiny" just equates to "dragging both of them off to therapy against their wills". and also buying the yearner a lollipop along the way

gentle reminder that the A2 script pages that have been going around from the Blu-ray bonuses are from an old/outdated version of the script, and anything that isn't shown in the final film cannot automatically be considered canon, whether it's scene/dialogue changes, character details, lore details, etc.

Stuff gets changed and/or cut for a reason, be it because they didn't have time for it, decided to go in a different direction for the character/lore, decided the scene should be moved to a later movie, or anything else.

It's fun to see alternate versions of the story that could-have-been, and if you want to play with concepts based on the script in headcanon or fanfiction, feel free of course...but be very very cautious about considering any of it "canon" until/unless another source confirms it (such as how the Tsu'tey's Path comics confirm some of the A1 deleted scenes).

OH OH OH HERE WE GO IT’S TIME FOR A MOMENT

I’VE BEEN WAITING FOR THEM TO HAVE THIS CONVERSATION

OHOHOHO OH I SEE HOW IT IS

CLAMP are still playing the long game with this. The glacier slow drip of information around Watanuki’s name is MURDERING ME ONE WORD AT A TIME. 

Because like, this is CLAMP. We’re served this moment with the attention and drama that the mysterious connection it surely deserves, with gorgeous panels and swirling petals to really drive home the fact that it’s a moment that’s important to both THEM and US at the same time. 

BUT - and here’s the interesting part -

Everything they say here is information we already have. 

AND it’s worth noting that Watanuki’s birthday took place ON SCREEN two chapters before this moment in xxxHolic, which really drills down on the repetition of it coming up in the storyline being important. 

So as beautiful as these moments are, I don’t think there’s any particular reason to draw them out so beautifully UNLESS it was a piece of information they wanted us to remember AND dwell on in the upcoming chapters of both manga. 

I don’t think they would have had the characters slowly making the connections between each other themselves now, and so beautifully, unless it was ENTIRELY RELEVANT, if not VITAL, to an upcoming story beat. 

Which makes my head spin. Both because I desperately want to know what it is but also because I can’t pin down what it could BE. 

The fact that all three protagonists share the same birthday is such a cute fun detail on the surface level, but Clamp have been telling us from chapter 1 that coincidence isn’t real and everything is on purpose hitsuzen, so there’s a Serious Reason for their birthdays aligning too. 

And like, I’ve already been dancing around what I think Lava Lamp’s connection to Watanuki is (shh no hints) but what about Sakura? As much as My MYSTERIOUS AND SUBTLE guesses about Watanuki and Syaoran’s connection would absolutely explain why they have the same birthday, it doesn’t make a natural connection with Sakura in any way that I can tell. 

But

BUT 

But the way Sakura so fondly tells the story of how her and Lava Lamp(or Syaoran?) share the same birthday, it almost makes me think… that, like… 

It’s not impossible for someone to be NAMED AFTER a connection like that, is it? 

Which (in relation to Watanuki) would potentially answer one question only to immediately blow up a dozen others. 

The mystery of Watanuki’s name has never looked more complicated and I’m just like 

Like… COULD IT BE THAT?

BUT NO, OF COURSE NOT. None of that would make logical sense.
