HONEYCOMB â chapter 1.
â summer, 2004.
ê© synopsis: the lavier-choi's, a french-korean family from seoul's elite that runs an electric vehicle production business, has been preparing to face a looming economic crisis that could crumble their empire, and it all takes a turn for the worse when, unexpectedly, their patriarch, who headed the company, suddenly passes away. at the news and her mother's desperate call, albany, the eldest daughter, is forced to abandon her life in paris representing france as a professional fencer and return to her homeland to face her mom's old-fashioned whims in order to help the family. amidst all the frenzy, the only positive thing she finds is that, after years, she will be reunited with her siblings and all the friends she grew up with, especially the yu family from across the street.

there are certain things that, as time goes by, you stop questioning. after your twenty-somethings it doesn't really matter what your favorite color is, or that kind of trivia you learn to ask as a child to start a conversation, there are different things to worry about, serious, adult things, like how you position yourself politically or whether you have a place of your own to live and grow old in, or what names you have in mind for your children. it's because of this abrupt reality in which she lived that the question of what her favorite season was hadn't come up in albany's head for years.
if she had to devote any of her time to that dilemma, perhaps now, at 28, she would choose fall. summer in paris was chaotic and as the years went by it seemed to get hotter and hotter, meanwhile winter was gray and depressing. fall was fine, damp at times, but still quiet and cozy at the end.
what she could be sure of was that as a kid she told everyone how much she loved summer.
in all honesty, everyone she knew in her hometown hated summer in korea. it has all the hallmarks of the worst summers you can think of, but albany used to love it.
when the vacations started, her parents would take them to spend it at the family villa in namyangju, it had been one of the many traditions they had for as long as she could remember.
two years before minho was born, the choi parents had bought this big house in gyeonggi, in the middle of the mountain and close to the river, in order to create memories with their children while they took refuge away from all the noise and frenzy of seoul.
of course, the chaos was still with them, it was just a different kind. as albany began to grow up and become more aware of her surroundings, she began to doubt that her mother as elegant, delicate and whiny as she was would have agreed to spend the wettest time of the year surrounded by nature, water and bugs. each year was accompanied by her squealing and annoyances that her father, an adventurer and lover of anything that required physical prowess, was unaffected by, as he was always on the move, ready to set off to embark on a new activity.
summers in namyangju were not relaxing, they were an annual survival camp.
and albany loved it that way, for most choi children had inherited, to a greater or lesser degree, their father's fearless nature. it was fun, it was exciting, for a moment she felt like one of those forest fauns she loved to read about and not the millionaires' daughter with a monotonous predictable life that she really was.
one of the things she loved most was hiking in the mountains, walks on which she always found fruits. her father had taught her about some that could be eaten and some that couldn't, and then she deciphered the others, as well as plants she learned to identify. she took them back to the house where she gave them to the chef to use, and by watching that lady she learned to replicate those recipes.
time also brought her minjeong, who even with that small body ate what sunwoo wouldn't consume in a week and loved the raspberry pie albany made. the little girl was not a good friend of nature, she tried, but it seemed that the outside world was too rough for her little legs still lacking in strength, so every summer, that her parents spent in the namyangju village of her best friends the choi's, she spent eating the dishes that the blonde-haired french girl had learned to make over the years.
thinking about her family also included thinking about the yu's, her parents' best friends who had such separation anxiety that they bought houses just one street away to spend all their life together. her father, choi junmin, had met yu suwon when they were both in high school and from there their friendship only thrived.
summers were spent with the yu's, christmases were spent with the yu's, the meaningless days of the dullest weeks of the year were spent with the yu's. of course the adults were always busy, but the children had been forced to fraternize to such an extent that they too became accustomed to it.
albany didn't know a life where she didn't cook for minjeong, even when she grew older, every time she returned to paris after a few days back home, she found herself baking raspberry pie with no one to offer it to. she couldn't go that long without making her angry or chatting with her about all the fantastic things they thought inhabited the universe apart from humans.
and then, there was jimin. albany didn't know a life without yu jimin.
her best friend in the whole world, her partner in adventure. the girl who climbed out of her window late at night just to talk until they both fell asleep, who had accompanied her to her first gala and who also went with her when she escaped from it. jimin who was there when her last baby tooth fell out and when she had to help her furnish her apartment when she had just moved to france. who used to accompany her to look for elves and who gave her her first 'spiderwick chronicles' book. in all her important moments, jimin had been there and vice versa, her first crushes, kisses, partners, her academic and personal frustrations, her achievements, albany's first fencing tournament, jimin's CSATs and the moment she found out she had gotten into the college she wanted.
when they started to get along, albany was a little older, always going everywhere with wendy and minho, but she didn't really talk to many other people who understood her impatient need, as an eight-year-old girl, to find a fairy among the flora of namyangju, so for three summers in a row, she kept running around, disappearing into the trees and bushes by herself.
until one day, in late july 2004, she wandered farther than usual from the house, finding herself at the entrance to a grove. albany was choi junmin's daughter, she had no reason to be scared, so with a firm step she headed for the logs, ready to catch this fairy she claimed she had seen a week ago, but who kept running away. the problem was that albany was not minho, so she was not completely junmin. she was also her mother eveline's daughter and she carried some of her fearful, sedentary genes in her, so when she saw a figure in the distance that was shorter than her, hunched over and with big ears, she froze in fear. she didn't dare go to capture it or attack it as her older brother would have done, she just stood static, keeping silent so the being wouldn't notice she was there. she crept away until she shot out of the trees and ran back to her family as fast as when she was playing soccer with the neanderthal she had for a brother.
but she couldn't leave it at that, she had found a strange creature in the foliage, she had to go back to investigate what it was, and if it was an evil entity, she had to make sure it didn't attack her siblings. so every day for a week, little albany went back to the same place, ready to face whatever that thing was, which was always waiting for her in that exact position she found it on. but she would freeze, couldn't get close, and ended up returning terrified and frustrated to the house.
one afternoon, now in early august, she returned to the grove. it was the same scenario that had been repeating itself lately, and the same reaction on her part. try as she might, she couldn't get her body to move in the direction of the critter that was standing there. disappointed in herself again, albany turned on her heels ready to go back to where everyone was. she was no longer running from fear, yes, she was still scared, but now she was just walking back crestfallen, berating herself for not being able to face the forest monster. but she couldn't run away that day.
"why you always come here?" a high pitched voice made her jump in place in surprise, followed by a terror running down her spine at the thought that perhaps the creature had heard the girl or her outrage.
"what are you doing here, jimin?" the older girl asked altered, rushing towards the newcomer to get her away from what she thought was dangerous.
"i followed you." she confessed, wriggling out of the blonde's grip and taking a few steps towards where her gaze used to be fixed, in seconds reaching much farther than choi ever had.
"viens ici!" âcome here â. she whisper-shouted, rushing over to pull her away.
"what you do here?" the little girl spoke in vaguely understandable words. she had always been intelligent for her age, but she was missing a few teeth, making it difficult for her to enunciate.
"jimin, you can't be here." she took her arm and tried to walk in the opposite direction, but she got away easily.
"are you doing something bad?" an excited giggle accompanied her assumption, she wanted to be a part of it.
"no." she folded her arms. "it's dangerous."
jimin's eyes suddenly expanded and her posture shifted to a rigid one, her pupils probed the area for the threat. she brought her gaze upward, to albany's face, who because of the age difference was quite a bit taller, she looked uneasy. "what happens?" she muttered.
the older one just raised her arm and with her finger pointed to the figure that hadn't moved all week, leading the blackhaired's attention to it, who after analyzing it for a moment squinting her eyes trying to make sense of it, just said with a discouraging tone, "that short thing?"
"how dare you?" albany reproached in agitation. "it's small because it's a gremlin." she reported in a very low tone.
"what?"
"a gremlin." she repeated in the same volume.
"kremin." she tried to echo.
"gremlin."
"kemin." she failed again.
"nevermind." she dismissed. "they're little creatures that make mischief." she explained, holding the subsequent silence for a moment to look up and down at the eldest of the yu sisters. "just like you." she joked, causing jimin to squeal in annoyance and start hiting her shoulder. "se calmer, calm down!" she took advantage of the girl's closeness after her tantrum to tug at her clothes and hide behind a trunk with her. "it might hear us." she warned.
"you're bigger." observed the younger girl.
"and?"
"you can step on it." she assured.
albany contemplated it for a second, but her foot wasn't big nor her leg strong enough, so she shook her head. "i can't." she looked down in defeat. "gremlins are mean." she explained.
jimin turned to look at the taller one, crossed her arms resting her elbow on top of the other and bringing her fingers to her chin to hold it between her thumb and forefinger while emitting a steady 'mmm' sound that indicated she was thinking. "you and i." she pointed to the opposite and then to herself. "there are two of us and he is one."
"what about that?" replied choi confused.
"it can't beat us." assured the girl hurrying to walk in the direction of the creature, sure that albany was coming behind.
jimin walked with confident steps as her eyes scanned the ground for something, while the older one followed closely behind, her body bent over as if she wanted to use the smaller girl as a shield, anxiously letting out strings of words quickly trying to convince her to stop, but jimin was mischievous, the kind of child you would find hanging from the top of a tree without knowing how she got there, she didn't listen and when something got into her head, she wouldn't stop until she did it.
the older yu bent over to the ground to pick something, straightening up with a long branch held in her small fist and raising it in front of her with a proud smile to show it to albany.
"what's that?" the blonde inquired, still terrified.
"a sword!" she exclaimed excitedly.
"be quiet!" she took quick steps to her to catch her face and cover her mouth with her hand. "that's not a sword." she said softly.
"yes it is." she reiterated when she was allowed to speak and immediately gave albany a gentle whack on the forehead with the stick, pushing her away. "we will kill it with the sword." she reaffirmed.
jimin, again, slipped out of the blonde's grasp and dashed towards the gremlin with her branch ready to finish it off. "jimin, soyez prudents!" âbe careful â. albany could be heard chasing after her quickly to stop her, but by the time she was close, jimin had already struck the creature with her so-called sword.
they both stopped suddenly, confused as they saw a large pile of leaves scatter in the air after being hit by the small yu and fall to the ground around the small trunk that seconds before they swore was an evil individual that was going to attack them.
"it's a tree." realized albany in embarrassment, realizing that her gremlin was just the base of a tree with some grasses around it that were tall and wide enough to look like ears, and the leaves that jimin had swept away created a hair-like shape.
"i don't think so!" denied the younger girl in a confident tone and impacted the trunk with the branch again. "yes it is." agreed when nothing happened.
"i got scared for nothing." lamented the blonde, annoyed with herself, and dropped down, sitting on the grass beneath her, an action that jimin copied. "thanks for helping me, though." she added after a few minutes without saying anything.
"it's nothing." she gave her a big smile without many teeth. "i protected you like a knight." she commented confidently.
"you don't look like a knight." she refuted with a laugh. "you're pretty and small." jimin furrowed her eyebrows and gave her a displeased sideways glance, she didn't like being called small. "you're more like a fairy." she corrected.
"then," she thought. "i'll be a fairy who protects you." she nodded her head, confirming her words. "what do you think, abany?" she had trouble pronouncing the letter L, so the name came out funnily.
"it's albany." she emphasized the letter she had missed.
"abany." she tried again.
"no, that's not it."
"bany." she sentenced. "what do you think, bany?"
"fine." she agreed. "you will be my guardian fairy." she put her hand on the top of her head, rubbing it and messing up her hair, but jimin stopped her by tapping her wrist with the branch she used as a sword. "can i borrow your sword?" she asked looking at the object.
"i'll teach you to use it." she smiled sideways.
and ever since that confrontation with a gremlin in the summer vacation of 2004, albany choi has not existed without yu jimin.

Fandom can do a little gatekeeping. As a treat.
So I finally decided to archive-lock my fics on AO3 last night. Iâve been considering it since the AI scrape last year, but the tipping point was this whole lore.fm debacle, coupled with some thoughts Iâve been thinking regarding Fandom These Days in general and Fandom As A Community in particular. So I wanna explain why I waited so long, why I locked my stuff up now, and why Iâve come to the conclusion that Iâm a-okay with making it harder for people to see my stories.
Lurkers really are great, tho
Iâm a chronic lurker, and have been since I started hanging out on the internet as a teen in the 00s. These days itâs just cuz I donât feel a need to socialize very often, but back then it was because I was shy and knew I was socially awkward. Even if I made an account, Iâd spend months lurking on message boards or forums or Livejournals, watching other people interact and getting a feel for that particular communityâs culture and etiquette before I finally started interacting myself. And yâknow, that approach saved me a lot of embarrassment. Over the course of my lurking on any site, there was always some other person whoâd clearly joined up five minutes after learning the place existed, barged in without a care for their behavior, and committed so many social faux pas that all the other users were immediately annoyed with them at best. I learned a lot observing those incidents. Lurk More is Rule 33 of the internet for very good reason.
Lurking isnât bad or weird or creepy. Itâs perfectly normal. I love lurking. Itâs hard for me to not lurk - socializing takes a lot of energy out of me, even via text. (Heck it took 12 hours for me to write this post, I wish I was kidding--) Occasionally Iâll manage longer bouts of interaction - a few weeks posting here, almost a year chatting in a discord there - but Iâm always gonna end up going radio silent for months at some point. I used to feel bad about it, but Iâve long since made peace with the fact that itâs just the way my brain works. Iâm a chronic lurker, and in the long term nothing is going to change that.
The thing with being a chronic lurker is that you have to accept that you are not actually seen as part of the community you are lurking in. Thatâs not to say that lurkers are unimportant - lurkers actually are important, and they make up a large proportion of any online community - but itâs simple cause and effect. You may think of it as âyour communityâ, but if youâve never said a word, how is the community supposed to know you exist? If I lurked on someoneâs LJ, and then that person suddenly friendslocked their blog, I knew that I had two choices: Either accept that I would never be able to read their posts again, or reach out to them and ask if I could be added to their friends list with the full understanding that I was a rando they might not decide to trust. I usually went with the first option, because my invisibility as a lurker was more important to me than talking to strangers on the internet.
Lurking is like sitting on a park bench, quietly people-watching and eavesdropping on the conversations other people are having around you. Youâre in the park, but youâre not actively participating in anything happening there. You can see and hear things that you become very interested in! But if you donât introduce yourself and become part of the conversation, you wonât be able to keep listening to it when those people walk away. When fandom migrated away from Livejournal, people moved to new platforms alongside their friends, but lurkers were often left behind. No one knew they existed, so they werenât told where everyone else was going. To be seen as part of a fandom community, you need to submit to the mortifying ordeal of being known, etc. etc.
Thereâs nothing wrong with lurking. There can actually be benefits to lurking, both for the lurkers and the communities they lurk in. Itâs just another way to be in a fandom. But if that is how you exist in fandom--and remember, I say this as someone who often does exist that way in fandom--you need to remember that youâre on the outside looking in, and the curtains can always close.
Iâve always been super sympathetic to lurkers, because I am one. I know thereâs a lot of people like me who just donât socialize often. I know thereâs plenty of reasons why someone might not make an account on the internet - maybe theyâre nervous, maybe theyâre young and their parents donât allow them to, maybe theyâre in a bad situation where someone is monitoring their activity, maybe they can only access the internet from public computer terminals. Heck, Iâve never even logged into AO3 on my phone--if Iâm away from my computer I just read whatâs publicly available.Â
I know I have people lurking on my fics. I know my fics probably mean a lot to someone I donât even know exists. I know this because there are plenty of fics I love whose writers donât know I exist.
I love my commenters personally; I love my lurkers as an abstract concept. I know theyâre there and I wish them well, and if they ever de-lurk I love them all the more.
So up until last year I never considered archive-locking my fic, because I get it. The AI scraping was upsetting, but I still hesitated because I was thinking of lurkers and guests and remembering what it felt like to be 15 and wondering if itâd be worth letting a stranger on the internet know I existed and asking to be added to their friends list just so I could reread a funny post they made once.
But the internet has changed a lot since the 00s, and fandom has changed with it. Iâve read some things and been doing some thinking about fandom-as-community over the last few years, and reading through the lore.fm drama made me decide that itâs time for me to set some boundaries.
I still love my lurkers, and I feel bad about leaving any guest commenters behind, especially if theyâre in a situation where they canât make an account for some reason. But from here on out, even my lurkers are going to have to do the bare minimum to read my fics--make an AO3 account.
Should we gatekeep fandom?
Iâve seen a few people ask this question, usually rhetorically, sometimes as a joke, always with a bit of seriousness. And I thinkâŠyeah, maybe we should. Except wait, no, not like that--
A decade ago, when people talked about fandom gatekeeping and why it was bad to do, it intersected with a lot of other things, mainly feminism and classism. The prevalent image of fandom gatekeeping was, like, a man learning that a woman likes Star Wars and haughtily demanding, âOh, yeah? Well if youâre REALLY a fan, name ten EU novelsâ to belittle and dismiss her, expecting that a âreal fanâ would have the money and time to be familiar with the EU, and ignoring the fact that male movie-only fans were still considered fans. The thing being gatekept was the very definition of âbeing a fanâ and peopleâs right to describe themselves as one.
Thatâs not what I mean when I say maybe fandom should gatekeep more. Anyone can call themselves a fan if they like something, thatâs fine. But when it comes to the ability to enjoy the fanworks produced by the fandom communityâŠthat might be something worth gatekeeping.
See, back in the 00s, it was perfectly common for people to justâŠnot go on the internet. Surfing the web was a thing, but it was just, like, a fun pastime. Not everyone did it. It wasnât until the rise of social media that going online became a thing everyone and their grandmother did every day. Back then, going on the internet was justâŠa hobby.
So one of the first gates online fandom ever had was the simple fact that the entire world wasnât here yet.
The entire world is here now. That gate has been demolished.
And itâs a lot easier to find us now. Even scattered across platforms, fandom is so centralized these days. It isnât a network of dedicated webshrines and forums that you can only find via webrings anymore, itâs right there on all the big social media sites. AO3 didnât set out to be the main fanfic website, but thatâs definitely what itâs become. Itâs easy for people to find us--and that includes people who donât care about the community, and just want âcontent.â
Transformative fandom doesnât like it when people see our fanworks as âcontentâ. âContentâ is a pretty broad term, but when fandom uses it weâre usually referring to creative works that are churned out by content creators to be consumed by an audience as quickly as possible as often as possible so that the content creator can generate revenue. This not-so-new normal has caused a massive shift in how people who are new to fandom view fanworks--instead of seeing fic or art as something a fellow fan made and shared with you, they see fanworks as products to be consumed.
Transformative fandom has, in general, always been a gift economy. We put time and effort into creating fanworks that we share with our fellow fans for free. We do this so we donât get sued, but fandom as a whole actually gets a lot out of the gift economy. Offer your community a story, and in return you can get comments, build friendships, or inspire other people to write things that you might want to read. Readers are given the gift of free stories to read and enjoy, and while lurking is fine, they have the choice to engage with the writer and other readers by leaving comments or making reclists to help build the community.
And look, donât get me wrong. People have never engaged with fanfic as much as fan writers wish they would. There has always been âno one comments anymoreâ wank. There have always been people who only comment to say âMORE!â or otherwise demand or guilt trip writers into posting the next chapter. But fandom has always agreed that those commenters are rude and annoying, and as those commenters navigate fandom they have the chance to learn proper community etiquette.
However, now it seems that a lot of the people who are consuming fanworks arenât actually in the community.Â
I wonât say âthey arenât real fansâ because thatâs silly; thereâs lots of ways to be a fan. But there seem to be a lot of fans now who have no interest in fandom as a community, or in adhering to community etiquette, or in respecting the gift economy. They consume our fics, but they donât appreciate fan labor. They want our âcontentâ, but they donât respect our control over our creations.
And even worse--they see us as a resource. We share our work for free, as a gift, but all they see is an open-source content farm waiting to be tapped into. We shared it for free, so clearly they can do whatever they want with it. Why should we care if they feed our work into AI training datasets, or copy/paste our unfinished stories into ChatGPT to get an ending, or charge people for an unnecessary third-party AO3 app, or sell fanbindings on etsy for a profit without the authorâs permission, or turn our stories into poor imitations of podfics to be posted on other platforms without giving us credit or asking our consent, while also using it to lure in people they can datascrape for their Forbes 30 Under 30 company?Â
And sure, people have been doing shady things with other peopleâs fanworks since forever. Art theft and reposting has always been a big problem. Fanfic is harder to flat-out repost, but Iâve heard of unauthorized fic translations getting posted without crediting the original author. Once inâŠI think the 2010s? I read a post by a woman who had gone to some sort of local bookselling event, only to find that the man selling âhisâ novel had actually self-published her fanfic. (Wish I could find that one again, I donât even remember where I read it.)
But aside from that third example, the thing isâŠas awful as fanart/writing theft is, back in the day, the main thing a thief would gain from it was clout. Clout that should rightfully go to the creators who gifted their work in the first place, yeah, but still. Just clout. People will do a lot of hurtful things for clout, but fandom clout means nothing outside of fandom. Fandom clout is not enough to incentivize the sort of wide-scale pillaging weâre seeing from community outsiders today.
Money, on the other hand⊠Well, fandomâs just a giant, untapped content farm, isnât it? Think of how much revenue all that content could generate.
Lurkers are a normal and even beneficial part of any online community. Maybe one day theyâll de-lurk and easily slide into place beside their fellow fans because they already know the etiquette. Maybe theyâre active in another community, and they can spread information from the community they lurk in to the community theyâre active in. At the very least, they silently observe, and even if theyâre not active community members, they understand the community.
Fans who see fanworks as âcontentâ donât belong in the same category as lurkers. Theyâre tourists.Â
While reading through the initial Reddit thread on the lore.fm situation, I found this comment:
[ID: Reddit User Cabbitowo says: ... So in anime fandoms we have a word called tourist and essentially it means a fan of a few anime and doesn't care about anime tropes and actively criticizes them. This is kind of how fandoms on tiktok feel. They're touring fanfics and fanart and actively criticizes tropes that have been in the fandom since the 60s. They want to be in a fandom but they don't want to engage in fandomÂ
OP totallymandy responds: Just entered back into Reddit after a long day to see this most recent reply. And as a fellow anime fan this making me laugh so much since itâs true! But it sorta hurts too when the reality sets in. Modern fandom is so entitled and bratty and youâd think itâs the minors only but thatâs not even true, my age-mates and older seem to be like that. They want to eat their cake and complain all whilst bringing nothing to the potluck⊠:/ END ID]
-
âTouristâ is an apt name for this sort of fan. They donât want to be part of our community, and they donât have to be in order to come into our spaces and consume our work. Even if they donât steal our work themselves, they feel so entitled to it that theyâre fine with ignoring our wishes and letting other people take it to make AI âpodficsâ for them to listen to (there are a lot of comments on lore.fmâs shutdown announcement video from people telling them to just ignore the writers and do it anyway). Theyâll use AI to generate an ending to an unfinished fic because they donât care about seeing âthe ending this writer would have given to the story they were tellingâ, they just want âan endingâ. For these tourist fans, the ends justify the means, and their end goal is content for them to consume, with no care for the community that created it for them in the first place.
I donât think this is confined to a specific age group. This isnât â13-year-olds on Wattpadâ or âZoomers on TikTokâ or whatever pointless generation war weâre in now. This is coming from people who are new to fandom, whose main experience with creative works on the internet is this new content culture and who donât understand fandom as a community. That description can be true of someone from any age group.
Itâs so easy to find fandom these days. It is, in fact, too easy. Newcomers face no hurdles or challenges that would encourage them to lurk and observe a bit before engaging, and itâs easy for people who would otherwise move on and leave us alone to start making trouble. From tourist fans to content entrepreneurs to random people who just want to gawk, itâs so easy for people who donât care about the fandom community to reap all of its fruits.Â
So when I say maybe fandom should start gatekeeping a bit, Iâm referring to the fact that we barely even have a gate anymore. Everyone is on the internet now; the entire world can find us, and they donât need to bother learning community etiquette when they do. Before, we were protected by the fact that fandom was considered weird and most people didnât look at it twice. Now, fandom is pretty mainstream. People who never wouldâve bothered with it before are now comfortable strolling in like they own the place. They have no regard for the fandom community, they donât understand it, and they donât want to. They want to treat it just like the rest of the content they consume online.
And then theyâre surprised when those of us who understand fandom culture get upset. Fanworks have existed far longer than the algorithmic internetâs content. Fanworks existed long before the internet. Weâve lived like this for ages and we like it.
So if someone canât be bothered to respect fandom as a community, I donât see why I should give them easy access to my fics.
Think of it like a garden gate
When I interact with commenters on my fic, I have this sense of hospitality.
The comment section is my front porch. The fic is my garden. I created my garden because I really wanted to, and Iâm proud of it, and Iâm happy to share it with other people.Â
Lots of people enjoy looking at my garden. Many walk through without saying anything. Some stop to leave kudos. Some recommend my garden to their friends. And some people take the time to stop by my front porch and let me know what a beautiful garden it is and how much theyâve enjoyed it.Â
Any fic writer can tell you that getting comments is an incredible feeling. I always try to answer all my comments. I donât always manage it, but my ficsâ comment sections are the one place that I manage to consistently socialize in fandom. When I respond to a comment, it feels like Iâm pouring out a glass of lemonade to share with this lovely commenter on my front porch, a thank you for their thank you. We take a moment to admire my garden together, and then I see them out. The next time they drop by, I recognize them and am happy to pour another glass of lemonade.
My garden has always been open and easy to access. No fences, no walls. You just have to know where to find it. Fandom in general was once protected by its own obscurity, an out-of-the-way town that showed up on maps but was usually ignored.
But now thereâs a highway that makes it easy to get to, and we have all these out-of-towner tourists coming in to gawk and steal our lawn ornaments and wonder if they can use the place to make themselves some money.
I donât care to have those types trampling over my garden and eating all my vegetables and digging up my flowers to repot and sell, so Iâve put up a wall. It has a gate that visitors can get through if they just take the time to open it.
Admittedly, itâs a small obstacle. But when I share my fics, I share them as a gift with my fellow fans, the ones who understand that fandom is a community, even if theyâre lurkers. As for tourist fans and entrepreneurs who see fic as content, who have no qualms ignoring the writerâs wishes, who refuse to respect or understand the fandom communityâŠwell, theyâre not the people I mean to share my fic with, so I have no issues locking them out. If they want access to my stories, theyâll have to do the bare minimum to become a community member and join the AO3 invite queue.
And yâknow, Iâve said a lot about fandom and community here, and I just want to say, I hope itâs not intimidating. When I was younger, talk about The Fandom Community made me feel insecure, and I didnât think Iâd ever manage to be active enough in fandom spaces to be counted as A Member Of The Community. But you donât have to be a social butterfly to participate in fandom. Iâll always and forever be a chronic lurker, I reblog more than I post, I rarely manage to comment on fic, and I go radio silent for months at a time--but I write and post fanfiction. Thatâs my contribution.
Do you write, draw, vid, gif, or otherwise create? Congrats, you're a community member.
Do you leave comments? Congrats, you're a community member.
Do you curate reclists? Congrats, you're a community member.
Do you maintain a fandom blog or fuckyeah blog? Congrats, you're a community member.
Do you provide a space for other fans to convene in? Congrats, you're a community member.
Do you regularly send asks (off anon so people know who you are)? Congrats, you're a community member.
Do you have fandom friends who you interact with? Congrats, you're a community member.
Thereâs lots of ways to be a fan. Just make sure to respect and appreciate your fellow fans and the work they put in for you to enjoy and the gift economy fandom culture that keeps this community going.

Just Confess Already!
A collection of drabbles about how your man's closest companions help him overcome his fears and finally confess his feelings for you.
Characters: Wriothesley, Neuvillette, Kaveh, Tighnari, Lyney, Itto, Childe, and Baizhu.
Now proofread.
Wriothesley:
đș Ever since Sigewinne saw you and Wriothesley in each otherâs company, she instantly figured out you two liked each other. She knew you had feelings for the Duke because she has exceptional people-reading skills and could see right through you. You tried to hide your feelings from Wriothesley, but Sigewinne could tell how your heart raced when in his presence, the subtle heat in your cheeks and the secret glances you threw his way when you thought he wasnât looking. Honestly, she might have thought you had a fever at first if these symptoms didnât occur only when the Lord of the Fortress of Meropide was around. Since you hid your feelings, Sigewinne assumed that you werenât certain if Wriothesley liked you back, to which the Fortressâs nurse could only shake her head because how can you not see he likes you?
đș Wriothesley knows your favorite tea blend like the back of his hand, and yet he constantly invites you to try out a new blend he made that he thinks youâll like. Everyone knows how much the Duke loves tea, but surely you can tell that he uses the tea as an excuse to get you to stay longer and spend more time with him? Moreover, Wriothesley shows off more in front of you, trying to impress you with his extensive tea collection intellect, hospitality, physiqueâanything, really. Sigewinne could tell how his body language shifted to appear more confident, how his voice pitched a little lower to an almost sultry timbre, and yet despite his laidback smile, the micro-expressions on his face told her clear as day that he was nervous about interacting with you. Much like you, he hid his feelings because he wasnât sure if you liked him. Even when Sigewinne tells him that you do like him back, the Duke doesnât fully believe her, the idiot.
đș Once she gets fed up with watching the two of you pussyfoot around each other, Sigewinne comes up with a covert plan on how to get at least one of you to confess their feelings. She comes up with excuses to send you over to see Wriothesley (and as expected, he keeps you around longer than you intend), finds out what foods and flowers you like to pass that information to Wriothesley in a casual conversation (and suddenly you find your favorite snacks or flowers delivered to you from an unknown sender), and consistently eavesdrops on your pair to make sure things were going smoothly. As expected, her plan works like a charm and it doesnât take long for Wriothesley to confess to you, much to the Melusineâs delight. Later on when she and the Duke have lunch together, sheâll congratulate him on his new relationship before smugly saying âI told you Y/N liked you too.â
Neuvillette:
âïž Neuvilletteâs emotions were generally a mystery to most people, even to the Melusines working under him. However, all it took was for one Melusine to see the soft and tender look in the Chief Justiceâs eyes when he gazed at you during one of your outings, and before long, every Melusine in Fontaine heard the news that their beloved Monsieur Neuvillette found a human to love. At first they were just rumors, but a few Melusines working at Palais Mermonia confirmed that the reclusive Iudex did indeed make time in his busy schedule to see you regularly. The evidence all pointed to the idea that Neuvillette and you must be lovers, because why else would the Chief Justice give you such special treatment compared to most other humans? Their assumption was almost correct. Neuvillette did indeed love you, but the two of you werenât a couple.
âïž With this revelation, the Melusines begin approaching you more frequently than before, many of them greeting and congratulating you. When you ask them what they were congratulating you for, they only reply with âWhy, on your engagement of course!â before skipping away to carry out their duties without giving you a chance to ask who you were supposedly engaged to. Your puzzlement persists until one day, when you were having your regular meeting with Neuvillette to relax over a cup of water tea, a Melusine approached your pair to congratulate you on your engagement to each other. You almost spat out your drink as the puzzle pieces fell into place, and could only watch with wide eyes as Neuvillette gently corrected the Melusine, telling her that you werenât engaged before patting her head in comfort. Though he appeared his usual composed self, internally he was as flustered as you. Understanding her mistake, the Melusine sheepishly apologized before leaving to tell her sisters the truth behind your relationship.
âïž The news sadden the Melusines, but they figure that if the two of you arenât together, then they can help you! In their eyes, both you and Neuvillette really liked each other based on how each of you behaved around the other. A few of them take it upon themselves to give you a little push by telling you all about how kind, gracious, just, and reliable Neuvillette is. Heâs so amazing, surely you want to spend your life with a man like him by your side, right? As for Neuvillette, though Melusines arenât experts on human courtship, they observed enough human couples to give the Iudex suggestions on how to court you. One Melusine recommends he give you flowers, and Neuvillette doesnât have the heart to disappoint her, so one day he gifts you a bouquet of flowers while awkwardly avoiding your gaze. The process of getting you two together is a slow one, but once you finally become a couple after a long period of pining, the Melusines celebrate and congratulate you (this time for good reason), overjoyed to have helped bring your hearts together.
Kaveh:
đ· Mehrak may be an artificial life form, but it can tell that its owner likes you. Like, really likes you to the point of doodling your image in his sketchbook, saving up as much money as he can to take you out to eat, and taking a ridiculous amount of time getting ready when he has plans to meet up with you. He has to look perfect for you, or so Kaveh told Mehrak. Having seen how infatuated itâs owner is with you, and also seen the lovestruck gaze you give the architect every time you two meet, Mehrak concludes that Kaveh and you must be a loving couple with how you pine for one another. But as time passes, Mehrak realizes that you two arenât holding hands, hugging, or kissing like the couples it has seen do, and the sentient suitcase becomes confused. In its mind, you two are already together, so why arenât you being as affectionate as it knows you want to be? Perhaps you two need a little push to get closer, it thinks, before it comes up with things it could do to help.
đ· From there, whenever Kaveh designs new buildings, Mehrak will do its best to incorporate design elements it knows you like into Kavehâs sketches. Kaveh knows what you like too, and easily recognizes your favorite flowers in the garden blueprints, fountains in the courtyard (because you said you like them), as well as your favorite vases and rugs in the interior blueprints. Theyâre not what Kaveh was planning, and he scolds Mehrak for deviating from his vision, but the little suitcase doesnât stop. When it sees items or foods you like on display in the street stalls, it will fly over to them and give a cheerful chirp as if signaling Kaveh to buy them to give you as a gift. But out of everything Mehrak does, what flusters Kaveh the most is when it drags him to you. When Mehrak spots you in the distance, it grows excited and flies over to greet you thereby yanking the poor architect with it who can do nothing but hold onto his creation for dear life.
đ· Mehrakâs efforts eventually pay off because there comes a point where Kaveh canât stop thinking about you. He already thought about you a lot as evident by his sketches of you in his private notebook, but Mehrakâs actions served to constantly remind the architect of you and made him fall even more in love with you. Itâs at this point that Kaveh gathers up the courage to finally confess to you. Mehrak couldnât be happier to see the two of you together once you accept Kavehâs feelings, even doing a little happy dance in celebration of completing its mission.
Tighnari:
đ Collei wonât know that her teacher likes you until one fateful evening when she heads toward Tighnariâs living quarters to ask him a question, and accidentally overhears him and Cyno talking about Tighnariâs romantic feelings for you. It comes as a surprise to her because she genuinely had no idea her teacher loved you. He didnât seem to treat you any differently from anyone else, but thatâs only because Tighnari does a really good job at keeping his feelings on the down low. Now that she knew, suddenly everything made sense. All the times Tighnari freed up his busy schedule to provide you help when you asked for it, the way he attentively listened to you and was the first to help if you got injured, his many gifts of various potions and plants that were good for your health, and even the fact that he frequently let you touch his ears and tail were all subtle signs of his affection for you!
đ With this new knowledge in hand, Collei schedules a day to hang out with you. Her main goal was to get your help with some of her reading materials since you often helped her when Tighnari was too busy, but her second reason was to ask you about your feelings for her teacher. When she works up the courage to breach the question, she gets the best answer she could have hoped for. You told her you really liked Tighnari, and Colleiâs eyes practically sparkle in excitement. She respects your request to not tell Tighnari about your feelings, but unfortunately ends up breaking that promise, but not of her own free will.
đ When she tried subtly pushing Tighnari into courting you, she wasnât as slick about it as she thought because her teacher is too perceptive, and Tighnari quickly found out what she was planning. The forest ranger confronted her about her strange behaviour, and Collei felt pressured to tell him everything. She tells him all about the conversation she overheard between him and Cyno, how his feelings for you were mutual, and about her good intentions to help you and him get together. Tighnari isnât mad at her. If anything, he might thank her later for giving him this information, but not before giving her a talking-to about messing in other peopleâs business. Though her plans didnât go as expected and she had to reveal your secret, in the end, things still worked out the way she hoped. After that fateful conversation, Tighnari sought you out to finally make his feelings for you clear, and Collei felt a sense of accomplishment at having done something good for the people she cared about.
Lyney:
đ© Lynette knows pretty quickly when her brother develops a crush on you. The way he ekes out time out of his schedule to visit you regularly and his constant flirting are some of his tells. And if that wasnât obvious enough, then the silly grin he wears while talking about you, and the magic tricks he designs and practices for hours on end just to impress you with are all Lynette needs to know that Lyney is down bad for you. Knowing about her brotherâs romantic feelings, Lynette will tag along with him during some of his meetings with you to observe and get to know you better. She is pleasantly surprised to learn that you like Lyney back, and finds some amusement in watching the two of you grow flustered with each otherâs flirting. Even so, she honestly would much rather not witness her brother flirting and trying to court the object of his affection since she finds it icky and feels like a third wheel.
đ© Despite her reservations, Lynette does her best to support Lyneyâs love life since she wants him to be happy. She watches Lyneyâs feelings grow from a crush to full-fledged love over the passage of time, and the growing nervousness and anxiety that comes with it. Lyney spends a lot of time coming up with magic tricks to impress you with and practices them until theyâre polished and come like second nature to him. Even so, he still gets really nervous about performing them for you, even doubting whether youâll like them. Thatâs when Lynette comes in with words of encouragement and support to try and ease his nerves. If that doesnât work, she tells Lyney point blank that you like him back. Had these words come from anyone else, Lyney wouldnât have believed them. However, because itâs Lynette whom he knows is really good at reading people, Lyney believes her, albeit with a great deal of questions about how she can be so sure about her deduction.
đ© Even now knowing you like him back, Lyney is still too nervous to confess, so Lynette changes tactics. She tries to give you hints about Lyneyâs feelings for you, calling out his behaviour right in front of you by saying things like âYouâve never given me any Rainbow Roses, and yet give Y/N a whole bunch of them!â or âLyney pulled a lot of all-nighters to try and perfect this trick just to show youâ, much to Lyneyâs dismay. Lynette does this in part because she likes to tease her brother, but also because she hopes youâll get the hint and maybe confess your feelings first if Lyney wonât. Regardless of who confesses first, the end result will still be Lyney and you becoming lovers because Lynette can be a surprisingly good wingwoman. It brings a small smile to her lips to see the two of you happy in each otherâs company now that your feelings are out in the open. All she wants is for her brother to be happy, and sheâs glad that he can find that happiness with you.
Itto:
đ The Arataki gang had long been aware of Ittoâs feelings for you, what with how frequently Itto talks about you and how he turns into an awkward, blushing mess when youâre around. Genta, Mamoru, and Akira decide to team up to concoct a series of plans on how to finally get you and Itto together, and agree that first Itto should try to court you to win your heart. They recommend Itto a bunch of romantic and affordable gifts he could give you, street stalls to take you to for delicious (and cheap) food, as well as the type of compliments Itto should say to flatter you (though all Itto can manage is âYou have, uh⊠really nice hair!â). It's a whole operation the gang affectionately calls Operation: Helping Boss win Y/Nâs heart. Shinobu has to keep a watchful eye on the proceedings of said operation lest her friends get carried away and start planning an expensive wedding before you and Itto even become a couple.
đ When Itto feels like itâs time for him to confess his feelings to you, he invites you to meet under a large sakura tree. The Arataki gang come along with him and sit in the nearby bushes to spy on the two of you. Youâll hear hushed âYou can do it, boss! We believe in you!â from the bushes as the gang members encourage Itto and give him thumbs up. As much as Itto appreciates his boysâ support, now is not the time, he thinks as he looks at you with flushed cheeks, flustered by his groupâs antics. Shinobu facepalms off to the side before dragging Mamoru, Akira, and Genta away to give you and Itto some privacy, but silently wishes him luck with his confession before leaving.
đ The gang eagerly awaits the results of the confession, feeling just as nervous as Itto. However, they donât have to wait long because Ittoâs loud whoop of joy soon reverberates through the area, indicating that you accepted his feelings. A little while later, the boys will throw a party to celebrate the occasion, splurging on some tasty food and drink, and congratulate Itto on finding love. Though they want to find love themselves, theyâre still incredibly proud of their boss because they know the effort it took him to get to this point. Even Shinobu offers Itto a couple of words of congratulations. From then on, the gang will work hard to welcome you into their group and give you as much respect as they give Itto due to your status as his lover.
Childe:
đ From the way Childe talked about you in his letters, his younger siblings were convinced that you and him were already dating. Wanting to meet the person special to their big brotherâs heart, they begged and pleaded with him to invite you over to introduce you to them. Once Ajax relents and brings you to meet his family, his younger siblings swarm you with questions about yourself and their brother, before Teucer enthusiastically asks when youâll be marrying Ajax. You exchange awkward glances with Childe, and before the Harbinger can even attempt to resolve the misunderstanding, with a heavy heart you explain to Teucer that you and Ajax are not even dating (hearing that kind of hurts Childe, he wonât lie).
đ The expressions of shock and disappointment that Teucer and the rest of the younger siblings give you is honestly heart-wrenching and makes you feel a little guilty. âSo, you donât like big brother?â Teucer asks sadly. You correct him and admit that you do like Ajax, but you donât specify exactly how. The children will pester you to tell them what kind of âlikeâ you mean, but thankfully Ajax saves you from their badgering. Only Tonia figures out that your âlikeâ is more of a âloveâ, but she is smart enough to not blab about your feelings to Teucer and Anton.
đ Despite their earlier disappointment, the children take a liking to you and constantly ask Ajax to bring you along on their family adventures or simply invite you to play games with them. During your hangouts, the children tell you about how Childe talks about you in his letters, basically ratting out his feelings for you much to Childeâs mortification. They also try to convince you to date their brother because, in their eyes, you two make a cute couple and Ajax looks really happy when next to you. The children wonât know if their words managed to convince you until the night when you and Childe were preparing dinner in their kitchen. Tonia and her brothers had a question they wanted to ask you, however as they approached the kitchen, Tonia overheard you and her older brother discussing your feelings for one another. With a smile, she quietly lead Anton and Teucer away to give you two some time to sort out your feelings, though sheâs confident that by tomorrow you will be an honorary addition to their family, and perhaps a real member sometime in the near future.
Baizhu:
đ Changsheng can easily tell that Baizhu likes you. The doctor is always polite and cordial, but with you he acts especially sweet and takes time to have a casual chat with you when you come to pick up your medicine. Fed up with constantly seeing him giving you pining glances, Changsheng asks why he wonât just confess to you and get this pining over with, to which Baizhu retorts that heâs too busy to manage a proper relationship. He worries he would be too busy to give those he loves enough time and attention, but he also fears that you donât feel the same way. His response and stubbornness frustrate Changsheng.
đ Her frustration continues to grow when she observes you and notices that telltale nervous and bashful behaviour of yours whenever you talk to Baizhu. You donât behave that way when talking to Qiqi or Gui, and you also inquire about Baizhuâs health often, clearly worried about him. Clearly, you like him more than just as your doctor. Changsheng feels like screaming when the three of you are in the same room together, forced to endure watching both Baizhu and you pining for one another, yet not making a move.
đ One day, after seeing yet another exchange between you and Baizhu thatâs full of hidden longing yet leads nowhere, her patience finally snaps. âUgh, I canât take it anymore! Why wonât the two of you confess that you both love each other? Itâs so obvious!â she exclaims and slithers out of the room with a huff to cool off her temper. She caught brief snippets of you asking Baizhu if what she said is true, before going out of earshot. She fumes for a little while, grumbling about how foolish youâre both behaving before making her way back. To her delight, she glimpses your rosy cheeks and happy grin, as well as Baizhuâs relieved expression from behind the doorway, and realizes you two finally confessed. At long last, after all this time she thinks and sighs in relief. Changsheng decides to extend her break and come back later, wanting to give you and Baizhu a chance to properly sort out your newfound relationship. She hopes Baizhu is prepared for the long talking-to shell give him about dragging out this situation for so long, but until then, sheâll guard the entrance to the room to make sure no one interrupts you.

Bucky wasn't looking for love the day he met you, but it found him anyway.
âHey, Buck,â Steve greeted from his seat when he walked into the conference rooms and nodded to the spot beside him that you occupied. âIâd like you to meet our newest transfer. Sheâs also moving into the Tower.â
He was a changed man the moment your eyes met. Breathtaking was a word to describe you given how he had forgotten to breathe. He had witnessed many sunrises and sunsets in his life, a kaleidoscope of colors painted in the sky to both soothe and awaken the soul. They paled in comparison to the beauty before him.
One glance and he belonged to you completely.
âHi, Bucky. Itâs nice to meet you.â
While he wasn't sure if Heaven existed, you speaking his name was like hearing the voice of an angel.
âIâm Bucky.â
Of all the things he could've said, reiterating his name was what his mouth went with.
Instead of giving him a weird look or brushing him off when he scowled at himself, you smiled. âI look forward to us working together.â
Bucky couldn't tell you what the meeting was about that day, but he remembered the details about you. The way you leaned forward in your seat to pay extra attention when someone else spoke, also giving him an ample view of your chest before he reminded himself not to stare. The slight crease in your forehead when you jotted down an important note. And the soft giggle you let out when Steve cracked a joke.
He suddenly wished he was funnier.
âHave a good rest of the day, Bucky,â you said when the meeting ended.
Bucky didn't have to try to smile with you. It just came naturally. When you smiled back, it was easy to imagine what it would be like if you were his girl.
âYou, too,â he replied, giving himself a mental victory for not screwing up his words this time. âWait!â
You paused and looked at him expectantly. âYeah?â
Bucky realized he had no reason to keep you from leaving. He just didn't want you to go. âDo you need help moving your stuff in?â
âI actually got my things moved in late last night, but thanks for the offer,â you replied, checking the time with wide eyes. âI'm so sorry. I have to go. Iâm in 2L if you need anything!â
âBye,â he called after you, turning in his chair to watch you go.
How did he miss you already?
Though Steve had a knowing look in his eyes, he graciously kept his mouth shut as he left the room. He reminded him an hour later that he wouldn't break any bylaws by asking you out. The punk somehow knew that you weren't seeing anyone.
Which made him happy.
While he appreciated Steve looking out for happiness, he still had to get his head on straight.
âOnce I completely trust my own mind, maybe I will,â Bucky said, even though the stuff was already out of his head. He owed it to himself to take his time. And you.
Imagine his surprise when he found a note from you on his door the next day.
Hey, Bucky! Lunch on me today? Check YES or NO.
The lopsided grin on his face wouldn't go away when he read it again. You must've been interested in him enough to ask about him. How else did you know his apartment number? Why else would you ask him to lunch?
He nearly shouted âYESâ in the hall before he came to his senses and simply checked the option before he returned the note to your apartment door.
When he met up with you later, he told himself it wasn't a date. It couldn't be, right? It didn't keep his heart from stopping when you answered your door. Dressed down and casual, you looked like an angel went to Earth just for him.
âHey, Bucky,â you smiled. âReady to go?â
He hadn't said much on the way to the cafe since he was too busy hanging on to your every word, but it was like he had known you for ages as you carried on the conversation. Your questions weren't invasive and you didn't seem to mind the occasional short answers. It was also the shortest meal of his life, over too soon for his liking, and he also refused to let you pay for his meal.
He wanted to show you that gentlemen still existed.
âLunch again next week?â You offered.
âSure,â he answered, his head spinning from giddiness.
But it wasn't a date.
It was time to change that.
Today was the day. Six months from the day he met you. Six months of chatting with you between missions and slowly getting to know you over weekly lunches. Six months of falling for you more and more each day and he finally worked up the courage to ask you out.
But falling was the easy part. Confessing was an entirely different story. He would either crash to the ground and hope his wounds would later heal or youâd catch him as he fell. No matter what, he wouldn't let his nerves get the better of him.
âJust like we practiced, okay?â Bucky asked.
âMeow.â
Alpine nuzzled her head against Buckyâs with a gentle purr when he huffed. She was his little partner-in-crime through and through. Like you, even though you didn't realize it, the little white ball of fur helped save him. He was fairly certain he wasn't supposed to bring her to this floor, but any reprimand would be worth it.
Besides, the Tower, office, anywhere they operated should allow them to have their pets with them, especially for emotional support.
âI'm counting on you,â he teased, placing the folded up piece of paper in her mouth. âGo.â
He peeked around the corner when he set Alpine down. The sun illuminated you from where you sat in the lounge, curled up in your normal spot on the sofa. You liked to relax there occasionally to read. He wondered what book you had with you today.
Thankfully, no one was around to disturb you.
Except for him.
âAlpine, is that you?â You asked when you looked up, closing the book as the cat approached you. While the feline was cautious of some, she warmed up to you immediately when you met and solidified that you were the one for him. âWhatcha got there? Whereâs Bucky?â
His name spilling from your lips was still one of his favorite sounds.
He held his breath when Alpine jumped up beside you, opened her mouth, and dropped the paper in your lap. He immediately began to second guess himself when you unfolded it with a furrowed brow. Why did he think this was a good idea? Why didn't he just ask you like a normal guy?
To be fair, he hadn't been normal for some time.
âWill you go out with me? Check YES or NO. Love, Bucky,â you read out loud with a huge smile, which was enough to make his heart race. You giggled a moment later when Alpine bumped your hand, the soft noise making his stomach do a funny sort of flip. âOkay, okay. Let me get my pen out of my bag.â
Bucky exhaled a little as he moved to stand in the doorway. You didn't toss the paper away, so that had to be a good sign. He carefully kept himself from showing any outward emotion when you met his gaze, but his knees nearly gave out. His palms also began to sweat when you gave him a half smile.
Just when he thought you couldn't look more beautiful than you had the day before, you proved him wrong.
He ran a hand through his hair and hoped he looked halfway decent since he hadn't brushed it. But you commented a few weeks back that you liked it long when you saw an old photo, so he wanted to grow it out. He lost count of how many times he imagined your fingers in his hair
Maybe one day.
Watching you grab your pen, it was like he was drowning. The tide pulled him under as you made a mark on the sheet. His lungs burned when you handed it back to Alpine. He couldn't come up for air. He couldn't breathe.
Until you smiled again.
âThanks, Alpine,â you said.
His cat gracefully walked back to Bucky and he swore he caught you trying not to giggle as she climbed up his leg. His heart hammered in his chest when he took the slip of paper from her mouth. Meeting your tender gaze, he couldn't bring himself to open it though.
After he told himself he wouldn't let his nerves get the better of him.
âNot going to see what my answer is?â You asked as he carried Alpine into the lounge.
âI want to,â he replied, sighing as he took a seat beside you. His cat was perfectly content to lay in his lap. âBut Iâm questioning if I did this the right way.â
The note you gave him for a simple lunch request may have been a small gesture in your eyes, but it meant the world to him. He thought by asking you out this way that he could give you something meaningful in return. Something that only the two of you shared.
That was all he wanted.
You turned toward him, your knee touching his. The small touch sent heat down his spine. âOpen it and youâll find out.â
He nodded, thankful that his vibranium hand didn't shake as he lifted the sheet. âWait, let me say something before I do.â
The corner of your lip tugged as you tried not to smile. âBucky-â
âI like you. I really like you. I have since the day we met. And I'm going to like you tomorrow. And the day after that and the day after that,â he admitted in a rush, catching your sharp inhale as he looked into your eyes. âBut I know my past isn't easy to deal with. If you just want to be a teammate or colleague, thatâs okay. Just. Being a part of your life in some way is more than enough.â
Alpine lifted her head and looked between the two of you, as if she was waiting with baited breath to see what would happen next.
Bucky felt a crack in his heart when you didn't speak or react, his body slumping slightly into the couch. It was okay. He took a chance and told you how he felt. He wouldn't force you to reciprocate.
âBucky?â You asked above a whisper, reaching over to help him unfold the paper. He gasped when he saw the checkmark beside âYESâ, blinking rapidly to make sure you picked that box. âI really like you, too.â
âYou do?â He exhaled, grasping your hand with renewed joy. He was careful not to squeeze too hard. Hurting you was the last thing he ever wanted to do.
âYeah. Pretty much since the day I met you,â you admitted, glancing in your lap before you met his gaze again. He saw stars in your eyes. âAnd your past isn't your fault, Bucky. You aren't something to âdeal withâ, okay? Youâre a good man. I can give you a whole list of reasons if you need it.â
Physically, Buckyâs body was in peak condition. Your confession, however, caused all of the air to leave his lungs and made him weak in the best possible way. A familiar warmth moved through Buckyâs veins as he breathed again and it dawned on him at that moment that he hadn't felt cold since you walked into his life.
Not once.
Your faith in him gave him strength. Your mere existence gave him the courage to try. And he didn't have to go it alone.
âWow,â he breathed, relieved and elated as he gave you a small smile. âHow about tomorrow night?â
âItâs a date,â you smiled.
âGreat,â he smiled back. A date. He couldn't wait to see the look on Steve's face when he told him that he finally asked you out.
âAnd I think the note was purrfect,â you teased at Alpine before you scrunched up your face. âI ruined the moment, didn't I?â
Bucky brought your hand to his mouth, kissing it as gently as he possibly could. He could hear your heart race. So was his. âNot at all.â
He knew it was too soon to say he loved you and it was likely too soon for you to feel that way about him, but he felt hope in your smile that you would one day.
For now, he had a date to plan all because you checked âyesâ.
We know it'll be the best date ever, right? Love and thanks for reading! đ

use somebody 2 | spencer reid
part one here
summary; spencer dreaded the day he would see you with anything other than a frown on your face, when that day comes, spencer would do anything to bring your sweet smile back.
warnings; some mean police man being sexist and mean to fem reader, protective spencer, fluff, a little angst but like barley any, will there be a love confession??? read and find out!
an; idk im dying. thank u. mgg hand mention
Spencer wasnât the biggest fan of the jet before you joined the bau. He didnât have any particular issue with it, there was nothing he could really fault or use as an explanation as to why he wasnât a big fan of it but it was just boring, he would read and then reread books, then try and sleep.
Then you joined the team and suddenly the jet was one of his favourite places, because you would sit next to him. You would ramble about a new show you were watching or a flower you had seen on the side of the road, and lately you would tell him about your dog. He would get to listen to you talk and get to watch you smile and flap your arms around as you got increasingly more excited as your ramble went on.
On the way home if you were feeling too tired to excitedly ramble about something random you would just sit next to him and let him ramble, the same excited smile on your face nonetheless as you paid the at most attention to whatever it was he was talking about, listening intently and asking questions almost as if you just wanted to keep him talking.
He didnât mind.
Your plans to watch the documentary he recommended at your house were quickly ruined by the notice that you had a case that would take over the span of your weekend. You had apologised profusely to Spencer as if he didnât technically cancel on you just as much as you did him. He didnât mind, he got to spend time with you either way.
In a sort of twisted way, he preferred working a case with you. At least this way you were around him rather than spending your weekends around anyone else. He wondered if that was creepy and controlling and if he said it aloud it would probably end in him over explaining how he just hated the idea of anything happening to you, or you meeting someone else.
You were too kind, for anyone. Especially him.
Thats why he was immensely annoyed when the Police Sheriff of the station they were at in Louisiana, decided to nit-pick every little thing you did. He wondered if the Sheriff was just insanely insecure or if maybe it was a gender issue.
He settled on the latter when the comments ended up going towards Emily, and JJ as well. Just a little bit more towards you, maybe because regardless you continue smiling at him or muttering out soft apologies for whatever minor thing you had done that the policeman had an issue with.
There were many times Spencer wanted to speak up, or shove the old mans faced into a wall â but then youâd smile sweetly at Spencer and he remembered you were a grown woman, you were perfectly capable of taking care and defending yourself. Regardless of this information, Spencer stayed a little closer to you throughout the day.
âAlright, giggle guts, whatcha got for me?â Penelope said over the phone after she had heard your mumble out a cheery hello once it went through. Spencer smiled fondly at the nickname, mostly because he saw your smile widen and a string of laughter leaving your lips, the sound melodic in his ears.
The sound of your laughter only made a small laugh puff out Spencerâs lips because it was so sweet and so beautiful that it was contagious and he couldnât help it.
âWell, you gorgeous amazing girl. I need you to look up this guyâs medical history, pleaseâ the manner was added so sweetly and softly on the end. The compliments left your lips effortlessly, the sound of your voice and the evident smile in it made Spencerâs heart happy.
Penelope said something over the phone but it was inaudible over the sound of Sheriff standing in the corner of the room scoffing. Your eyes flickered upwards towards the sound, eyebrows pinching together in slightly confusion. Everyoneâs expression mirroring your own.
Spencer felt dread fill his stomach and over every goosebump on his skin, dread to fear whatever spiteful unnecessary criticism the man would have to offer. The criticism absolutely no one asked for.
âWhats the issue?â Hotch spoke up, arms crossed over his chest as he stared down the sheriff. Was it in a protective manner? Nobody was sure really, the elderâs expression remaining unreadable.
The sheriff kicked off the wall to stand a little stranger, looking at hotch than back to you. âUnprofessional. This is why this is a manâs job. Sensitive squishy women who think life is all sunshine and rainbow are not fit for a job like this.â
Everyone went silent, your lips parted before closing, unsure of how to reply to something so unnecessarily mean. Spencerâs expression hardened. The room fell into an awkward tension, nobody moving or saying anything.
You pushed out a laugh, âDamn okay.. Tell me what you really thinkâ You muttered under your breath, a joke.
Spencer wouldâve laughed at your comment, your way to bring light to a room that had been made so dark but he could see the hurt in your eyes and he felt his heart strings pull against his chest, he wanted to reach out and grab your hand, reassure you that you were perfect for this job.
He was pissed. Actually. There wasnât a lot that could make Spencer mad â this however was one of the few things that did. He shuffled uncomfortably, finding it difficult to hold his tongue. He could tell Emily and JJ was uncomfortable by the comment made.
Hotch opened his mouth to talk but Spencer had beat him to it. âYouâre probably, what 65?â He said, his tone of voice curt and blunt it made your heart turn in Spencerâs direction.
The police officer furrowed his eyebrows, yet nodded anyways. Spencer hummed in response, sitting up a little bit straighter as he leant forward to rest his forearms against the conference table the team had been gathered around.
âRight, so by assumption and well â biology. You are actually probably the least reliable person in this room right now, despite age or gender. Your pace is significantly slower than anyone on your team, and i donât think I even need to compare you to our team because I donât wish to further embarrass you or hurt your fragile masculinity much more.â Spencer started.
Your head had fully turned towards his now, eyebrows quipped and eyes widened in shock because you werenât expecting Spencer of all people to come to your defence. Not because you didnât think he cared but because the boy could hardly defend himself, you just hadnât expected him to defend you.
âAnd actually â we use psychology, which women are actually significantly more successful in because of their ability of understanding, gender plays little to no role in our field of work. Its also ironic since I know you heard Derek on the phone to Garcia, you had no issue with what he had said â so Iâm very sure that whatever issue you have, is purely because your masculinity feels threatened by girls who are doing a job you couldnât fathom. Either get your mind out of the 1800âs or get away from our team.â
âSpenceâ His head turned towards your voice, taking in your wide eyes and parted lips in shock. He had honestly lost himself in the midsts of his ramble, unable to help it because someone had made you upset. The sweetest, kindest, gentlest person was made to feel bad by a way too old male who was clearly unable to adjust to the way the world was evolving.
âSorryâ Spencer apologised for his ramble. The door slammed shut as the policeman left the room, and Spencer felt a strange sense of pride when he looked back up at you to see a gentle smile tugging at the corner of your lips as you pulled your eyes away from him back to the phone.
âSorry about that pen.. Those medical records?â
Your smiled returned throughout the rest of the day, Hotch had gone out of his way to talk to the Sheriff and although nobody else had any idea what the conversation between the two included, it was clearly enough to make the Sheriff stay far far away from you and the rest of the team whenever possible.
Although your smile returned, Spencer could almost instantly notice the drastic difference. Maybe it was actually minor because no one else noticed, or maybe he just spent too much time admiring your pretty smile. Either way, he knew he didnât like it.
âSpenceâ You said the nickname, a hint of curiosity lacing your tone. his head lifted towards yours with furrowed eyebrows and a small nod of acknowledgement. He repeated your name back to you in the same sort of curious tone.
He watched as you sat up a little bit straighter, meeting his eyes, offering him a smile before you head dipped down again and a gentle breath left your lips. âDo you think Iâm unprofessional?â You asked, voice small and gentle and Spencer felt his heart ache so tensely it caused physical pain in his chest.
âNoâ He answered immediately. The rest of the team were out looking over the crime scenes while he opted for staying back with you while you looked for any connecting links between files. âI think you are very professional. Youâre kind but that doesnât make you unprofessional.â He added, quick to reassure any doubt that weighed down on your pretty mind.
You hummed gently, âBut-â He didnât let you finish or come up with any sort of argument, he wouldnât have it. He refused to let man who was balding make you feel any less about yourself.
âBut nothing.â He said, his voice stern and final yet so gentle. âHe was mean and sexist, if anyone is unprofessional itâs him. You are amazing at what you do, you are smart and kind and everyone who meets you loves you. Youâre safe, for everyone. Victims especially. Not everyone has that about themâ He said.
It was true, when working cases victims gravitated towards you and your comfort and kindness, if there was someone to trust it was you. Kids and witnesses were always more inclined to talk to you than anyone else on the team because there was something so sweet and welcoming and safe about you.
âYou doâ You said, tilting your head a little as you looked up at Spencer. His eyebrows furrowed slightly in confusion as to what you meant, but his heart skipped a beat anyways.
âYou have that something safe about you.â You said, noticing the confusion that covered his features. His heart warmed and ached all at once. Spencer was glad, so so so glad that you found him safe, that he was able to make you feel that way â Honestly he was happy he had any effect on you whatsoever.
âYou think so?â He asked, voice a little quieter as he held your gaze. He was scared that if he spoke any louder he may break the fragile moment. You nodded, a small smile on your face, a real smile.
âMhm, I think thats why I got so comfortable with you so quickly. Youâre so.. safe, and smart i think i trust anything you say so please donât lie to me because that would end really badly for me, and probably give me trust issues and then i will never trust anyone again â and well thats just not goodâ You rambled out dramatically. Spencerâs smile widened for a series of reasons.
âI would never lie to you.â He said gently, voice carrying a hint of something more, honesty and truth and so much longing it was almost embarrassing, he hoped you missed the way his voice went up an octave.
âOkay good.â You smiled.
Your gaze lingered on Spencerâs for a moment before you turned your head away. He felt like the room had gotten too warm, he had to refrain from the urge to loosen his tie and rub the sweat away from his forehead.
âDid you like the book?â You asked, fingertips grazing over the folder of the case file you were supposed to be reading. Spencerâs eyes followed the movement of your hand before returning to the side of your face.
He nodded, mind going back to the words highlighted in blue and suddenly the room really was too warm, he could feel his palms growing disgustingly sweaty. âI loved it, actually.â Much less because of the context of the story and moreso because you had gifted it to him.
You shook your head as you lifted it to look at him, a smile playing on your lips. He was glad that was back, the sweet genuine smile on your face that could probably drown out any bad day.
âIm gonna be honest, I hate annotating books. I think pages should be left undrawn on, and crisp and beautiful but you like annotating books so i figured.. Um.. That it was a good way to tell you how I feltâ You mumbled out, and Spencer was both insanely fond of you going out of your way to do something you disliked for him, and also immensely confused by what you meant.
âHow you felt?â He furrowed his eyebrows and he watched as your face went through series of expressions before your eyes widened and your lips parted.
âOh!â You huffed out, realising he had not understood what you were trying to do and you were now giving yourself away massively. âOh thatsâ Really embarrassing actually.â You said as you smiled anyways, bringing your hands up to press against your flush cheeks to try and sooth the warmth.
His eyebrows pinched together as he sat up a little straighter, âNo- What? What do you mean?â He asked, he found it sweet what you had highlighted and he didnât see at all how that was embarrassing, or something he should be making a big deal out of.
You huffed out a laugh, âYouâre smart Spencer, and a profiler. Im sure you can figure it out.â You said sweetly before pushing your chair out from the table, standing up. He wanted to reach out but he was stuck trying to figure out what the heck you meant.
âIm going to go get coffee.. Do you want some?â You asked, obviously relishing in his current confusion and obliviousness in order to get yourself out of this all too embarrassing situation if it ended in some sort of rejection you were buying yourself time.
âUm- What? No, No thank youâ He answered confused, obviously his mind fixated on what you meant, on what he was missing and trying to figure it out.
You let out a laugh, âYouâre sweet.â Before you left the room to get yourself coffee. Spencerâs cheeks warmed instantly at your compliment and if you had stayed longer he mightâve built the courage to argue how insanely ironic it was coming from you.
Instead, he sat confused. His mind going over the two lines highlighted in blue in the book you had gifted him, trying to understand how they referenced how you felt. He made you smile, that was good, he understood that.
But you always smiled. It didnât take a lot to make you smile so how was that the big confession? Was there some context he was missing. Then he remembered the part of the story the line came from, a love confession. The context of the sentences used.
And suddenly he realised despite his iq, and being a literal genius, he was the biggest idiot on earth.

âThanks a bunch, Trucy,â Apollo muttered through chomps of his bagel. Her bounciness jolted to a stop, her stare locking onto Apollo. It was as if Apollo had grown another head. At this point, anything was possible. âYou called me Trucy,â she plainly stated. âYes, is that not your name?â He smiled the best he could at her, though Klavier could see the sweat pooling at his forehead. âItâs not that,â she continued. âYou always call me Frau Wright, or Frau Magician. Iâve never heard you use my first name.â

no logan actually has me in a chokehold, all I can think of is him being away for a mission but youâre so needy for him that you grab one of his flannels and ball it up and shove it in between your legs and then basically humping it to get off, and maybe he comes back early from said mission and you donât hear him come in so heâs just watching you for a while before heâs had enough and decides to take matters into his own hands, btw love your writing keep up the good work!!đđ
natâs note: i read this and immediately had to put my phone down and walk away to breathe for a second. your mind is so beautiful anon, thanks a bunch for sharing! hope you love it <333
|| feat. logan howlett x fem!reader || 18+ SMUT MDNI ||
Six days is a long time.
Six days without Logan is almost unbearable.
The first three days were fine, nice even. You had the whole house to yourself, free to sprawl out on the couch and binge watch the guilty pleasure shows he always makes fun of.
The quiet was a welcome changeâyou could really relax, could sit with your thoughts.
Then day four rolled around, and things changed.
You started to notice the little thingsâthe leather jacket he left slung over the back of the dining room table chair, the way the bed felt too big without him, how cold you were at night without him plastered to your back.
By day five, the quiet wasnât soothing anymore; it felt empty.
You missed the sound of his voice, missed his scent melded in the sheets of your bed, missed the warmth of his body next to yours.
And by day six? Well, six days without Logan wasnât just lonely anymoreâit was a special kind of torture.
It wasnât just the emotional closeness or the comfort of his presence you longed forâit was the rough scrape of his stubble on your skin, the way his body pressed into yours, heavy and demanding. The way his voice dropped when he growled your name, hands gripping your hips with a possessive edge that sent shivers down your spine.
You didnât just miss him, you craved him.
It was settling in an unbearable ache, low in your stomach. A constant thrum that served as a reminder of just how much you missed his touch.
You didn't realize just how spoiled he'd gotten you. You haven't gone a day without at least four orgasms all year. Logan made sure of that, enforces it like it's a house rule he'd die before breaking.
Youâd gotten too used to the feel of his hands roaming over your body, the way his lips traveled from your mouth down to the space between your thighs, the way his cock brushes against that special spot inside you each time he slides home in your pussy.
Your body longed for him in a way that made it almost impossible to focus on anything else. Every thought seemed to circle back to Logan, to what it would feel like to have him here, right now.
The worst partâno amount of toys or creative use of your hands was enough to soothe that ache. It didnât matter how many times you tried to satisfy yourself; nothing worked.
The frustration was unbearable.
You blame that for your lapse in judgement when you made your way into your shared closet.
It was completely innocent at first, just you looking for something to wear to bed.
You only happened to trip over a shirt Logan must have left strewn across the floor before leaving. One of his favorites, a worn down brown and red flannel you'd seen him in countless times.
Before you even registered what you were doing, you bent down and scooped it up, burying your face in it. His scentâearthy, woodsy, and unmistakably himâhit you like a freight train as heat began to pool between your legs.
Suddenly, it was like Logan was there, surrounding you completely, teasing you with his absence. The ache deepened, twisting into something even more unbearable.
It was almost too much. That raw desire youâd been trying to hold at bay snapped its leash, and suddenly, the thought of going to bed wasnât even an option.
You were already soaking wet by the time you made it to bed, greedy lungfuls of Logan's scent enough to get you there in no time.
The flannel was warm in your hands, the roughed up fabric felt oddly comforting against your fingertips and the skin of your cheeks.
As you settled onto the mattress, a thought crept in. Wicked and indulgent in a way that made your ears burn with shame and your stomach swirl with heady arousal that fanned the fire raging between your legs.
Before you could stop yourself, you slid your panties off, your body already tingling with anticipation
You pulled the shirt between your legs, pressing it against your dripping core, the familiar scent wrapping around you like a vice.
You moaned at the feeling, the first rush of relief flowing through you like water through a desert. The friction, the smell, it was almost like he was in bed with you, touching you, guiding your movements. But no matter how nice it felt, it still wasnât enough.
The ache was only just lessened, the thrum of need was still there, undeniable and persistent.
With a whine, you leaned back on the bed, knees bent, legs spread wide, and you started to rock your hips against the fabric. Every movement sent delicious waves of pleasure through you, but it wasnât the same. Not quite. You needed moreâneeded him.
Your fingers gripped the flannel tighter, dragging it harder against your aching clit. Eyes squeezing shut, you let out a desperate moan, hips working so fast the bed frame started thumping against the wall in a steady rhythm.
You closed your eyes, letting yourself get lost in the fantasy of himâof him under you, of his hands gripping your thighs, pulling you closer. His voice low and gravelly as he whispered filthy things in your ear.
Your breath came in ragged gasps, and you were so lost in your thoughts, so caught up in the moment, that you didnât even hear the front door open.
Didnât hear the heavy footsteps making their way through the house, getting closer and closer.
But when the door to the bedroom creaked open, your eyes shot wide, and there he was.
Logan, home a day early.
Heâs stood in the doorway. His sharp gaze locked on you, jaw clenched tight. His eyes darkened, filled with lust and something elseâsomething dangerous.
Your heart pounds frantically in your chest, but your body refused to stop moving, hips still grinding slowly against his flannel as if they have a mind of their own.
You expect him to say something, to scold you, maybeâbut instead, a slow, dirty smirk spread across his face.
Without breaking eye contact, he crosses the room, shedding his leather jacket with a deliberate slowness as he does. He drops into the chair sitting in the corner of your bedroom, legs spread wide as he leaned back, watching you with an intensity that sent a shiver down your spine.
"I didn't say to slow down," he growls, the edge in his voice making your stomach flip. "Keep going, baby. Show me how much you missed me.â
The command in his voice was irresistible. Your body responding before your mind could even catch up, hips rolling against the flannel faster again, a soft whimper slipping from your lips. The friction feels even better knowing heâs watching, eyes dark and heavy with desire as he sees you fall apart.
"Logan, please" you gasp, hips moving faster.
"Please what, darlin'?" he hums.
"I don't- ah! Anything, please," you rush out, eyes glued to the obscene spread of his legs, where his strong thighs stretch the thick denim taught.
Logan shakes his head with a dark chuckle. "No, you wanna get yourself off without me you do it. Can't have your cake and eat it too, baby."
You whine, high and loud as tears burn at your waterline, threatening to spill down your cheeks. "I can't," you sob, voice tiny and pitiful in the quiet of the room.
"Don't be like that, princess," he chastises, clicking his tongue at you disapprovingly. "Know you can come just like this. Bet that pussy's been drippin' for days, huh?"
You nod pitifully, biting down on your lip as your legs starting trembling on either side of the balled up shirt.
âFuck, look at you,â he growls, voice dripping with lust. âSo needy you couldnât even wait for me, huh? You missed my cock that bad?â
You nod again breathless, the pressure building between your thighs becoming unbearable as his words wash over you.
âBet you were thinkinâ about me, weren't you?â His voice drops, rich and syrupy, and it crawls over your skin like a slow burn. âAll this time, wishing it was me between your legs instead of that fucking shirt.â
Your movements grow more frantic, eyes dropping to his lap, zeroing in on where his thick cock presses against his thigh, tenting his jeans lewdly. Your mouth waters, lips dropping open with a quiet moan as you imagine him slipping between them, fucking your throat and making your jaw ache.
âSuch a dirty little thing,â he purrs, his voice sending shivers down your spine. âYou like putting on a show for me, donât you? Gettin' off starin' at my cock while you fuck yourself with my shirt? Goddamn, I can see how fuckin' soaked you are from here.â
The flannel was soaked now, wet and clinging to your folds as you desperately rub yourself against it, your body trembling with need. Every roll of your hips makes you more desperate, more sensitive, pleasure coiling tight in your belly and almost ready to snap.
Your moans grow louder, filling the room as you chase your release, the rough fabric of his flannel dragging against your swollen clit in all the right ways. Logan watching youâmaking you do thisâhad you teetering on the edge, your breath coming out in sharp pants.
His voice was a constant stream of filth, each word sending shock waves of pleasure straight to your core.
âAtta' girl, that's it,â he rasps, his voice rough and commanding. âCome for me. Drench that shirt, baby. Make a mess of it. Iâll fuck you right after, promise.â
You were teetering on the edge, your whole body trembling with need as you rock against the flannel harder, faster, desperate for release.
"Come on, baby," he goads, leaning forward in his chair, eyes burning with something feral as he licks his lips. "If you get it nice and dirty for me, I'll wear it for you."
That was all it took. The thought of Logan walking around in his shirt after this, the fabric soaked with your essence, staking your claim on him, has you coming.
Your body shudders violently as waves of pleasure crash through you, pulling you under. Your back arches off the bed, hips jerking erratically against the flannel as you cry out his name, hot tears spilling freely down your cheeks.
Logan growls in satisfaction, eyes locked on you, watching as you tremble and gasp through the aftershocks. He stands from the chair, slow and deliberate, stalking toward the bed with a dark gleam in his eyes as his hands drop to his belt.
âGood girl,â he rumbles, voice thick with desire as he climbs onto the bed, caging you in with his body. His lips brush your ear, his breath hot against your skin. âNow itâs my turn, baby. And I ainât even close to done with you yet.â

It had been a rough couple of weeks. Things at your work were rocky to say the least, what with your boss firing several people every week and cutting your salary. Joel didnât have it much better â from what you understood, two clients suddenly canceled their order, and Tommy got himself thrown into jail, again, breaking his longest record to date. On top of that, little Sarah went down with some kind of flu that was raging in schools recently, and for the last two weeks one of you had to be home with her almost all the time.
So it was probably no wonder that the tension and stress became too much at one point, and you both snapped.
It was about the play at Sarahâs school.
âYou promised her, Joel! She was talking about it for the entire week.â
âItâs not my fault we have to go out of town on this date,â he answered through clenched teeth, pinching the bridge of his nose and not looking up at you. âI tried to reschedule, but the commissioning party refused. I canât help it, for fuckâs sake.â
You were glad Sarah wasnât home right now to listen to your fight. You dropped her off earlier at her friendâs house because she wanted to practice lines for the play they were doing next week. The play that Joel was apparently planning to miss.
You adored Joel â god, you loved him with all that you had â but he could be so stubborn sometimes, it was driving you up the fricking wall.
âItâs your kid, Joelââ
âYeah, itâs my kid!â he raised his voice, only now lifting his head. His stare was cold and hard, so unlike how he usually looked at you. âNot yours.â
âAre you kidding me?!â you shouted, hurt by his words and the tone he used. âIâve been taking care of her, loving herâ She is like a daughter to me!â
âBut still not yours,â he repeated harshly. That was a low blow, especially when he told you so many times that you might not be Sarahâs biological mother, but itâs obvious you love her like sheâs your own blood.
âYouâre only saying that âcause you know Iâm right,â you snarled angrily, and Joel huffed a humorless laugh.
âOf course. You always know better, dontâcha?â He stood up, towering over you, but you didnât back down. If anything, it only made you more mad, as if he was doing this to intimidate you. âIâm sorry Iâm such a terrible father in your eyes, but I have to think about earning money. Especially since itâs only a matter of time âtill that asshole boss of yours will fire you, too.â
âWhat the fuckâs that supposed to mean?! You really think so lowly of me to say it wonât be long until I get fired?â
âI donâtâ Christ, youâre puttinâ words in my mouth again.â
âAgain. Of course.â You spat out and took your sweatshirt from the couch, done with him and this conversation. âIâm going to my home,â you told him dryly. Joelâs nostrils flared and he took a step forward.
âNo, youâre not.â
âFuckinâ watch me,â you muttered under your breath, but loud enough for him to hear.
âWe are not finished!!â Joel screamed, his booming voice echoing throughout the house.
It felt like a slap. In one second you froze, all your muscles seized up and a feeling of coldness gripped your heart and throat, sending panic flooding your veins. The sweatshirt you were holding slipped out from your stiff fingers.
Joel has never raised his voice at you like that. Never with such anger and fury. There was a bite to his tone that you couldnât explain, but which you knew very well â the telltale sign that you went too far, and the other personâs patience was at an end, that now you were going to pay for it.
Your previous boyfriend taught you what it means. It meant bruises and split lips, and screaming when you started cryingâŠ
Joel noticed the shift in your behavior right away, and his anger immediately ebbed, replaced by confusion and concern.
âDarlinâ?â he murmured the pet name, though it rolled off his tongue heavily and with difficulty.
He was still furious at you and your refusal to understand what he was going through, but it all died down when he saw how wide, how empty your eyes were. Your knees buckled, and you looked like you could fall down at any moment.
Joel didnât have any idea what was happening with you â but knew that whatever it was, it was his fault.
You, in the meantime, felt like you couldnât breathe. The man in front of you â you werenât even sure anymore who that was â took a step forward with his hand lifted, and you quickly backed away, stumbling in the process.
âNo! N-no, no, please, Iâm sorryââ you started blabbering and sobbing, wrapping one arm around your middle to protect all the main internal organs. âIâm sorry, I didnât mean toââ
âNo, you didnâtâŠâ
âPlease⊠Iâm sorry, I swear,â you cried, trembling at this point, but not daring to escape the room. âIâll be better, just donât⊠Please, donâtâŠâ
Joelâs heart broke when he saw you bursting into tears and trying to make yourself as small as possible. All his anger disappeared in a cloud of smoke, replaced by the overpowering need to comfort the girl he loved.
But you seemed so scared when he wanted to come closer⊠And he didnât know how to proceed.
âYou didnât do anything wrong,â he repeated in an even softer tone, his eyebrows scrunching in worry. âSweetheart⊠Mânot gonna hurt you.â
He took another slow step forward, but that seemed to already be too much, because the trembling intensified and you practically slumped against the wall, one arm around your stomach, and the other squeezing your throat tightly. Joel feared to know the reason why you would do that to yourself.
âStop, pleaâ I canâtâ Iâm sorry, Iâm sorryâŠâ
âNo, itâs okay, my baby, itâs alrightâŠâ
He fell down to his knees next to you and reached to take you in his arms, but you started shaking your head violently, backing away and squirming out of his reach.
âNo, no, please, Iâm sorry! Donâtâ donât touch me!!â
A bile rose up in his throat, and he retreated his hands, holding them low in front of him to show heâs not going to do anything.
âItâs alright, babygirl,â he muttered chokingly, feeling completely helpless and lost about what to do. âYou⊠youâre safe.â
You were crying uncontrollably now, though it seemed like you tried to stifle the never-ending sobs and tears flowing out of your eyes, in result making your entire body shake. You flinched â actually flinched â when Joel opened his mouth, and your fingers around your throat tightened their grip.
âNo,â Joel said decisively, breaking your wish and grabbing your wrists, moving them away from your neck where red crescents started to form. âBaby, please, donât.â
âLet go!!â It was hard to distinguish the words from between your cries, but the message your body language was conveying was clear as day. âNo, donât⊠meâŠâ You sobbed again, quickly weakening despite your efforts. âIâm sorry, Iâm sorryâŠâ
âCome âere,â Joel whispered in a voice full of pain, carefully shifting closer and wrapping his arms around you, though being careful not to make you feel too crowded or trapped. âShhh⊠itâs Joel, darlinâ, mâhere.â
Surprisingly, you let him hold you â maybe it was just because you didnât have strength to resist and fight back anymore, Joel thought, but maybe you recognized him. Maybe it was both. But the tears didnât stop. No matter how gently he stroked your back or whispered reassuring words, you couldnât seem to stop crying.
Several times in the next couple of minutes you tried to grasp your neck or arm again, but every time he delicately, though firmly, moved them away. You still babbled half-intelligible apologies and pleas, and each time your voice broke or hitched on another fearful word, Joelâs heart was shattering into a million pieces all over again.
âIâm sorryâŠâ you sobbed again, trembling in his arms. âIâm sorry, donât hurt me, p-pleaseâ...â
âMy darlinâ...â Joel held you closer and more securely in his arms, rocking you back and forth. âSweetheart, my sweet, sweet girl⊠Iâm never gonna hurt you, I swear.â He planted soft, delicate kisses on your hair. Even though he wanted to hug you tightly, to show you how much he loves and cares about you, he restrained himself and tried to keep his touch as gentle as possible. âI swear, my babygirl, mâsorry, so sorry for screaminâ... Didnât mean to.â
You were still crying, albeit weaker now, in his arms, clinging to him like your life depended on it. Joel could feel your nails digging themselves into the skin of his back, but it was the furthest thing on his mind â hell, he could start bleeding and still it wouldnât be as important as comforting you at this moment. Better him than you.
âI love you sâmuch, my babygirl, my life,â Joel continued murmuring into the top of your head, feeling close to crying himself when your tears seemingly couldnât stop flowing. âMâso sorry. I wonât ever hurt you like that again, I swearâŠâ
His words, though full of love and compassion, rolled off you like water off a duckâs back, and you still couldnât locate yourself, couldnât tether your being to this world and make sense of the difference between what you knew should happen, and what was actually happening.
Your whole body was hurting, yes, but it wasnât the pain of being repeatedly hit. You could barely hear your own cries, but it wasnât because of vicious and cruel words being thrown at you. You knew it was Joel you were clinging to, and he never hurt you in this way, but⊠but you also were never so angry at each other. You never fought like this â and experience taught you that crossing that invisible line will carry certain consequences.
You werenât angry now. You were scared. And confused.
âJoel,â you whimpered between gasps, struggling to breathe through your rapid sobs. âIâm sorry. Please, donâtâ donât go.â
âMânot leavinâ ya, babygirl.â He spoke into your hair, closing his eyes. âMânot goinâ anywhere.â
You were calming down a little now, the sobs wrecking your body and breaking Joelâs heart dying down, though you were still shivering. Joel continued to hold and soothe you the best he could.
And wondered who mustâve hurt his darling so much that youâd react so badly.
âIâm sorry,â you whispered after a while, sniffling into Joelâs chest, but trying not to get snots on his shirt. Joel sighed sadly, but his hold on you just tightened.
âNo, babygirl, my darlinâ...â He pressed his lips to your hairline, stroking your back with his other hand. âYou have nothinâ to be sorry for, I swear. Itâs okay.â
âItâs not,â you whimpered pitifully, unable to stop another wave of tears from falling. âIâm sorry I reacted like that. I know⊠Joel, I know you wonât hurt me. Baby, please.â You took his head in your hands, searching his eyes with fear painted across your face. âIâm so sorry, wasnât thinking andâŠâ
âHey. Love, itâs fine.â He placed his own hands on your cheeks, stroking lightly your damp skin with his thumbs. âDonât say that. Mânot angry at you and would never be because of that. Itâs⊠itâs okay.â He petted your hair, trying to relax for your sake, but his chest remained tight. âItâs gonna be okay, I promise.â
You nodded weakly, though you werenât sure if you believed him. Joel swallowed heavily and nodded after a while, too.
âOkay. I⊠Iâll run you a bath,â he whispered, but you held his hand tighter and shook your head with tears gathering in your eyes again.
âNo, no! Just s-stay with me, please.â
Joel took your face in his hands, but you closed your eyes, feeling too vulnerable and exhausted to even try to maintain eye contact.
âIâm here, baby. Câmon, just hold onto me.â
He waited until your arms were around his neck before slowly standing up and tucking you securely in his arms. You hid your wet face in the crook of Joelâs neck, breathing in his soothing smell and trying to calm your breathing, which you still found difficult.
Neither of you said anything when he took you to the bathroom, sat down on the toilet seat and started to fill the bathtub with water and soothing oils. You just watched him, wiping your nose every once in a while.
Still remaining silent, Joel extended his hand and helped you stand up. Then, almost with fearful hesitation, he touched the hem of your shirt, sending you a questioning look. You just nodded, not having strength to undress yourself, and lifted your arms, letting him take your clothes off.
You didnât let go of his hand even after he guided you to sit in the tub. You couldnât bear being alone with your thoughts right now, and Joel, being as wonderful of a man as he was, stayed by your side as the warmth from the water seeped through your tired bones.
Another several minutes passed before he finally asked the question that was gnawing at him since the very beginning. You mustâve subconsciously known it was coming, cause it didnât even surprise you.
âWho was it?â he asked quietly. His hand was still caressing your palm with the gentlest of touches, but his eyes were like ice, full of hidden rage and hatred. âWho did this to you, darlinâ?â
You wrapped your arms around yourself, not sure whether to answer or not. Ever since you got to know him, Joel has been nothing but kind and understanding, never pressuring you into doing or saying something you didnât want⊠but you had a feeling he wasnât going to let the matter drop.
And honestly, you were afraid to tell him. To admit how your previous relationship looked and what exactly happened to make you act so strongly about something so small. Because⊠what if heâll realize how broken you are, how much effort itâd take to put up with you, and heâll leave? Even if he was willing to take care of you, it was really unlikely that heâd stay â even if he says that now.
You were doing good until today. You managed to hide the issues you had with yourself and all the pain you carried inside, never letting Joel know that something was wrong with you. But now he⊠he willâŠ
You didnât want him to leave. He made your life so much better and you loved him to pieces with all your heart, as weak and broken as it was.
You couldnât lose him.
âOh, babyâŠâ Joelâs hands cupped your cheeks so carefully and lovingly that you almost started weeping again. âMânot goinâ anywhere. I love ya so much. Youâre never gonna lose me.â
You didnât realize you said those words out loud, but even so, somehow his affirmations didnât make you feel any better. You wanted them to comfort you, but if anything, they just made you feel sick.
âIâm afraid youâre gonna leave someday,â you whispered hoarsely, keeping your eyes on the slowly disappearing bubbles. âI know Iâm being selfish, but I donât want you to. Youâre the best thing that ever happened to me, Joel. IâŠâ Tears spilled from your eyes again and you shook your head. âI know Iâm too much. And⊠and broken. And I know it sounds like I wanna guilt-trip you, but Iâm not, Iâm justââ You choked on a sob, and wrapped your arms tighter around yourself, hugging your knees to your chest. âI donâtâ donât know whatâs wrong with me.â
âSweetheart, look at me, please.â Joelâs hands were rough to the touch, but so incredibly gentle when they guided you to meet his eyes, and a big pit formed in your stomach when you saw how they shone. He was on the verge of tears, too. âDonât say things like that. Nothinâ is wrong with you. WhoâŠâ He sighed again. âWho made you believe such things?â
You didnât answer at first, but Joel kept staring at you, and â finally â you relented.
âMy previous boyfriend. The one I didnât want to talk about. Heâ Look, I know he was a horrible person.â You let out a short laugh, but without any joy â or emotions altogether â in it. âAnd I hate him so much, but he⊠he was right. About some things.â
âHeâs not.â Joel didnât back down, feeling despair growing inside his chest as he saw the girl he adored with his whole heart put herself down like that. âYouâre⊠fuck, youâre perfect, darlinâ, and you didnât deserve to be treated or talked to this way. Mâso sorry it happened to you.â
He brushed some of your hair to the back and sighed silently. He seemed so lost and sad, it made you feel even worse.
âWhat can I do?â
That stopped the train of your thoughts, and you looked up.
âWhat?â
âWhat can I do?â he repeated softly. âTo prove tâyou that Iâm not goinâ anywhere.â
Your lips parted, and you were unsure what to say. Joel took your hand in his, delicately tracing patterns on the back of it.
âBabygirl, listen to me. Youâre the most precious thing tâme. I donât care what this asshole told you, but⊠but none of this is true. And itâs not gonna drive me away from you. Nothinâ is gonna make me leave,â he repeated more firmly, never taking his eyes off you. âBecause I love you. More than anythinâ else in the worldâ
Joel sounded so sincere and desperate, tugging at your heartstrings with his gentle, sad eyes and loving words. The water became cool some time ago, but your insides felt like they were on fire â as if the next breath you were about to take would be your last.
âIâm sorry for everything I said.â You took a shaky breath, trying to keep your voice steady. âI donât think youâre a bad father. I think youâre the best and most amazing dad Sarah could ever ask for. I didnât wantâŠâ You sniffed and your shoulders started to shake again with silent cries. âI didnât want to hurt you, Iâm so sorry, I didnâtââ
The sob that you tried to stop with all your might suddenly escaped you, and Joelâs forehead scrunched in worry. He pulled you closer, leaning over the edge of the bathtub. Neither of you concerned yourself with water dripping off your skin, only feeling relieved from each otherâs closeness.
âI know, babygirl. Mânot mad.â Joel left a lingering kiss on your tearstained cheek, and then a second one on your forehead. âIâm sorry, too. For how I acted and forââ he sighed heavily into your shoulder, âfor shouting at ya.â
âYou couldnât have known,â you mumbled, but he shook his head.
âThatâs no excuse. I shouldnât âave done it in the first place.â He relaxed in your arms, and somehow it made your muscles less tense, too. âIâll see what I can do about that job. So that I can see Sarahâs play.â
You nodded and let your eyelids drop, giving in to the feeling of calm and security that always came with being with Joel.
âCan I sleep here tonight?â you asked quietly. You still were a little afraid that heâs going to turn you down after what happened, but you really didnât want to stay alone. âWith you?â
ââCourse you can. Dâya want to go now?â
You nodded again. Not bathing seemed like a big waste of water, but you didnât feel strong enough to actually wash your body. And Joel didnât pressure you â he just bent over and wrapped his strong arms around you, practically pulling you out of the tub by himself.
His clothes were completely soaked when he put you down and reached for the fluffiest towel you had, wrapping it around you like a little cocoon. He got rid of his wet shirt, kissed your head gently and, without a word, scooped you up into his arms again.
âI can stand,â you offered when he started walking towards the bedroom, forcing you to wrap your hands around his neck for support.
âI want to take care of you.â
âBut your back painsâŠâ
âIâm not that old yet, sweetheart,â he answered with a half-smile, slowing down and gazing into your eyes softly. âLet me take care of you.â
You brushed his cheek with your fingertips tenderly, eyes flickering across his face. âBut youâre always taking care of everyone, Joel.â
His throat bobbed and he almost immediately looked away. It was clear what he was thinking â that according to himself, he wasnât doing a good enough job. Because you got hurt. Because he was the one who unintentionally hurt you and sent you into a panic attack.
He was silent when he put you down on the bed with care, turning around to fetch one of his shirts from the closet. During this whole time you didnât say anything, either. Your mind was still a little closed off from when you tried to separate yourself from the painful memories that started to haunt you, and despite Joelâs efforts, it was still difficult to move past the experience.
But your head snapped up when Joel, after helping you put the shirt on, knelt in front of you, took your hand in his and leaned forward to kiss your knee gently.
âMâsorry,â Joel whispered with pain tinging his deep voice. âIâm sorry for sayinâ all those things about you and Sarah. I know you love her.â He pressed his lips to your knee again, and lifted his head, revealing how misty his own eyes were, which in turn made your heart ache even more. âMy sweet girl. I swear I wonât ever hurt you again.â
âYou didnât hurt me,â you answered quietly, but Joel shook his head and took a deep breath.
âWhat can I do?â he repeated his question from earlier, and this time you knew exactly what you needed him for.
âCan you⊠can you hold me?â
Without missing a beat, Joel raised from his position and enveloped you in his embrace, making you feel safe and protected like never before. You sighed heavily, breathing in his scent and feeling like just by touching you with such love that only he was capable of, he helped you to lift some invisible load from your shoulders.
Despite the headache from all the crying and your chest still tightening with every shallow breath you took, you felt a little better now. You didnât feel alone.
You knew you were safe with Joel.
It took some time for you to fall asleep, but even when you did, Joel could not find peace in the silky darkness of the evening.
Before you dozed off, Joel vowed again and again how much you mean to him, how you and Sarah are the best things that ever happened to him, and how heâll never let anything happen to any of you â and he could clearly see that you believed his every word, and that you werenât mad at him. You werenât flinching when he rocked you back and forth, or later when he pressed small kisses to your forehead.
But you still were quiet and your face miserable, and several times Joel tucked you in closer to himself when he felt you shaking and sniffing. There wasnât anything else he could do but hold you and whisper soothing promises into your hair. Once your eyelids started to drop, he began humming a familiar melody he knew you liked, and you nuzzled your face into his neck, curling up in his embrace.
And you whispered âI love youâ before you drifted off to an uneasy sleep in his arms. And before he could even answer, you thanked him for loving you.
When he heard it, he had to keep himself from breaking down with the last bit of his strength.
âYou mean everythinâ to me, love. Everythinâ,â he murmured after a couple of seconds, not even knowing if you were still awake. The guilt in his chest made it hard to breathe, but he pushed through it, and then he softly kissed your forehead, making a promise to himself.
He will find time to go to Sarahâs play with you. And heâll make it right.

Helloo!! Arcane is ending soon, so I was wondering if I could request the Arcane cast reacting to a reader who suspiciously seems to know everything thatâs gonna happen in the plot? They always appear where the action is, and they warn about dangers before they happen, trying to âsubtlyâ change the outcomes of horrible events. Tragedies are a core element of the story, so I feel that the narrative would create another disaster if one event got prevented, but the thought of these characters being safe and happy after all theyâve been through would be so healing :3 Itâs up to you which way you want to take it đđ Iâm fine with both platonic and romantic, but Iâd love to see Vi, Jinx and Caitlyn if thatâs ok :)
I love love love your writing, reading your HCâs before bed has become an important part of my day and itâs always a joy to see your work pop up in the tags <3 Thank you for letting us read your creations đ I canât wait to read the second part of your Caitlyn fic!!
The Timekeeper. | Vi, Caitlyn, Jinx x Gn!Reader
I absolutely LOVE this idea, Anon, and I appreciate your request so much!! Also, thank you for your kind words. It really means the world to me reading something so sweet!<33
Content: Angst, can be read as either platonic or romantic tbh, time traveling, fluff, bitter sweet, cursing, spoilers for season 2?, sfw

You were always a mysterious figure to them. One that appeared at the right time in the right place whenever they needed you the most.
You never revealed a thing about yourself. You never even told them your name. But one thing they did know was that you had always looked out for them, like a guardian angel in a way.
And on one fateful day, after another evaded tragedy, they finally caught up to you just before you could leave again.
ăVI
"Who the hell are you?" She asked completely out of breath after having practically chased you down through the dense crowd of the undercity. She had seen you so many times before. So, so many times. And every time she did, you were somehow able to save her from certain death by subtly showing her the right way to survive.
It took her a while to piece together that you must've known the outcome of every situation she had ever been in beforehand. That was the only logical answer to the many questions around your existence she could come up with, but it wasn't enough to satiate her desperate curiosity. There were times she had chosen against your signs, and the consequences ended up being almost grave. So whoever you were, you must've had otherworldly knowledge about everything and everyone.
Because whilst she didn't know a thing about you, you certainly knew everything about her.
Raising your hooded head, you idly played with the pocket watch in your hand, piercing eyes meeting her own. "Does that matter?" You ask, and truthfully, it shouldn't. Who cared about your identity when she knew she could trust you? But that wasn't enough. "Yeah, it does to me. Now tell me who you are already. I... I've been seeing you everywhere for years now. You have always been there and I..." She trailed off, suddenly losing her confidence.
She had thought of this moment for years now, imagined exactly what she would say to you. And yet, ultimately, she found herself speechless in your presence that seemed to drown out everyone else around you two. "I see... but my apologies, we were not supposed to meet yet." You said calmly, seemingly undisturbed by her appearance. "Time and fate... they both are so tightly intertwined and yet also so far apart from each other... how odd that the timeline changed so suddenly again, no?" Your words made zero sense in her mind, but that just added to your mystery.
"What-" "-Are you happy with the way your life is going?" You ask, and that made the woman pause in thought. The answer was positive, of course, but only because you had a strong hand in it once she accepted your help. She thought of Powder back home, who was probably happily tinkering away with the young girl Isha they recently took in, and that made her finally nod. "Yes. All thanks to you." "Not at all. It was you who chose your fate. I only showed you the alternative paths."
You two stood there in silence for a moment before she shoved her hands into her pockets and looked over to a nearby bar she liked to frequent in-between missions. "Let's go grab a drink and talk. It's on me." Deciding to accept this new path the timelines had given you, you accept her invitation with a smile.
ăJINX
"You're terrible at your job." "Am I? I like to pride myself in my good work ethic, actually." Jinx was idly swinging her gun back and forth on her index finger whilst she rested up in the ceiling above you, clearly having followed you around secretly. But she knew that you already knew that from the start.
Scoffing at your words, she jumped down and landed in front of your indifferent figure as she pointed the gun right at you. "Pah! You're a funny one... so what are you? A time traveler?" "Ah, I like the title Timekeeper more." You were aggravating but at the same time a familiar face she had grown to appreciate deeply. You were the reason she was doing well in life now, even if she ignored you for a very, very long time. She thought she knew better despite all the odds pointing against her, especially you. Ultimately, she learned her lesson when she finally just listened to you.
"Ugh... whatever. Can't ya at least tell me your name?" "No." "Man, you're such a pain in the butt!" "Likewise." Rolling her eyes, she lowered her gun and lazily leaned against a wall, arms crossed tightly as she observed the crowds passing by from outside the abandoned building you were in. An admittedly comfortable silence fell between you two, one that relaxed her shoulders and made her sigh in defeat after a while. Your presence was always so comforting.
"So, you let me catch up to you this time. Finally tired of the cat and mouse game we've been playing?" You lowered your head at her question, a sly smile on your face that made her narrow her eyes in interest. "Perhaps. Or maybe I just wanted to ask you how you're doing?" What an odd question, considering the context of your meet-up. And yet, it was somehow fitting coming from you specifically. Wasn't your whole mysterious mission revolving around her well-being anyway?
"Shouldn't you know the answer to that, oh so esteemed 'Timekeeper'?" You found no offense in the mockery of your title. Just pure amusement. "I'm afraid that mind reading was not in the initial job listing." Jinx took a moment to think about your question carefully then, deciding to indulge you despite her better judgment. Things were good now, after all. She, Isha, and Vi were together again as a family, including Vander, even if they had yet to find a way to turn him back properly. But everything was happy otherwise... because you made sure that the end to her story wouldn't be a painfully tragic one.
"... I'm fine. Everything's fine." She muttered, and your smile widened at that answer. "So... I'm not terrible at my job, after all?" Pressing a playful hand to her chin, Jinx acted as though she was in deep thought. "Hmmm... I guess I'll need more convincing than all of this to decide." "Of course... then how about we start with running away before the Enforcers show up to raid this place in approximately... 2 minutes?"
Jinx rolled her eyes again with a grin but agreed to follow you, very much glad to have learned her lesson at your side throughout the years.
ăCAITLYN
She was ignorant towards your judgment from the start, especially as she was able to analyze very quickly that you weren't all you claimed you were. You were too smart, too fast, too aware of everything. It was clear that you already knew how her life story especially would come to an end. But that didn't mean that she'd always listen to you.
Caitlyn believed to know better, even going as far as to protest against your word, which she had learned to be fate itself. And sometimes she'd nearly get away with her life, and on others, you'd be the one to show up just in time to save her. It was embarrassing and at times even near humiliating, but you never judged her, just silently left every time she attempted to confront you.
And this time she had finally succeeded.
Now dressed in a formal uniform, she watched your still form stare out of a window in her estate, as though you weren't practically trespassing. But Caitlyn was used to that. "It's going to rain soon. I wonder if the construction workers will get done with the restoration on time today before the first drops fall." The navy haired woman came to stand next to you, ears finely tuned to your calming voice she had heard in her dreams and mind for so many years. It felt surreal to stand next to you at last.
"You already know the answer... but I think Mother will send out guards soon to retrieve them." Her mother, who had only narrowly escaped her death, if it wasn't for you. She had only gotten a little injured from falling debris, but that was all that happened. All of the councilors and people in the building had survived the Jinx attack. No grave injuries. All because you prevented it by throwing Jinx slightly off balance enough to make her shot not as precise.
"... Thank you." "For what?" The right answer would be absolutely everything, but she refrained, noting that you didn't seem keen on praise. You saw it as your job. As your duty to her for a reason unknown. "For saving my mother." That should do.
You nodded at her words in acknowledgment as your eyes spied Ambessa retreating with her troops in defeat. They were practicing chased away by the council since their help was unwelcome. Served them right for meddling with the business of other nations. You had exposed their ulterior motives in secret, and that's all it took for the tide to turn against them. "Just my duty." "I knew you'd say that... but I want to reward you for all you've done. If it wasn't for you... then I... I don't want to know what I would have become."
You glanced at her with an unreadable look in your eye, and that reconfirmed her suspicions regarding how deep she would have fallen otherwise. It's best not to think of it.
Humming to yourself in thought, you gave her a small smile. "Very well, if you insist... you can treat me to some fine tea and cookies." Caitlyn weakly mirrored your grin, relief filling her senses at you accepting her offer. She was worried you wouldn't. "Of course. Follow me." Linking your arms together carefully, you made your way through the dim halls.
A chuckle left your lips when it indeed began to rain.

TW: NSFW, dubcon/noncon, slave darling, crude and derogatory terms, classism, abuse of power, death threats
fem reader
Thinking about the poor kitchen maid who's suddenly told she's to be the spoiled Prince's new chambermaid.
It hasnât even gone a day yet, but you already miss your job in the kitchens.
Sure, the sweltering heat of the ovens always left you in a state of fever, and kneading dough from dawn âtil dusk made your arms acidic with burns â unyieldingly sore â not to mention never getting a chance to sit down and rest before collapsing in bed at the end of the day. But the smell of freshly baked buns and the chance to sneak a bite out of those that came out of the oven just a bit too burnt for serving had always felt like payment enough.
That and not having to deal with the royal family.
You know you should feel honored. You know itâs supposed to feel godsend to be picked to become the Princeâs personal servant. But⊠there was a reason he so often required a change of maid.
You still remember the last one theyâd taken from the kitchen. She was pretty and young and shouldnât have been working there in the first place â thatâs what everyone used to say before she disappeared.
You wonder if such words carry curses⊠and what you did to deserve the same things being said about you.
You nearly cried standing outside The Princeâs chambers, chewing on your lip with his breakfast tray in hand, wondering what rumors were true â if he really was as terrible as everyone claims â wondering where the other kitchen maid went and whether youâd end up in the same placeâŠÂ wondering what you could do to keep it from happening.
You donât know what you were standing there waiting for, nearly pissing yourself when you knew he was still out â busy hunting down a couple of runaway servants for sport. It was almost as though you feared the room itself, as though it would bite once crossing the threshold.Â
None of the sorts happened, though a gust of warm wind hit you like the breath of a beast once you opened the door.
Inside, there were around a dozen heads mounted on the wall â dragons, bears, lions, wolves, and other creatures you werenât too sure of â all with mouths big enough to bite yours off.
You took only a second to look at them before they looked as though theyâd leap from the walls and eat you alive, just like youâd predicted.
You set the tray of food down on the bedside table and walked to the bathroom to draw his bath â deciding work would keep your mind off it.
Stepping out a second later, you fixed a fire in the hearth and made to make the bed, stretching the duvet and the quilt over the massive mattress while eyeing the thread count with envy and the hand-stitching with awe. Left to wonder how many ducks had been shot to stuff the mountain of plush pillows heâd all but thrown onto the floor to make space for himself.
Walking through the steam to the bath again, you opened the cupboard to pick out soaps and oils â overwhelmed by the sight of every shelf stocked full of all sorts youâd never seen â glad you had somewhat decent reading skills â unlike many of the other maids.
Soaping the water, you sat on the edge and waited with a hand wading through the warmth â and while biting your lip, you let your mind wander again â daydream, like it so often did â imagining what it would be like to feel it on the rest of your skin, warm and smooth, sucking all the stress out and leaving you soft like a newborn.
He watched you enjoy yourself, his stark eyes calmly assessing what they saw with a tilt of his head â trailing from the tip of your worn-out shoes to the tattered edge of your grey maidâs dress, up your lap to the cinch of your waist where your white apron was bound â taking his time until your eyes fluttered open to find him standing there.
You nearly fell into the water, hopping up to a stance. âSorry, your majesty- I forgot myself! Please forgive me.â You bowed, looking down at the muddy stains on your gray shoes â in anxious wait of his wrath.
But instead of a backhanded slap that would send you straight to the stone floor or a spit of venom which would make you flinch and cry, he spoke a calm and patient âCome here-â
Though spoken in a certain tone of authority that forced you forward in quick steps until stopping just short of him â still with eyes downcast.
âMh, I'm glad they haven't run out of cute ones down there.â He said then, once you stood only a hair's length from him â voice just as calm as before and inspiring just as much surprise in you still, though now joined with visible confusion in the crinkle it caused between your brows. A furrow that only deepened once he reached out his hand, tucking a loose strand of hair behind your ear.
âYour majesty?â You questioned.
âItâs master.â He corrected sharply, and you grew unsure if his voice wasnât just cold rather than calm. âI like that better. Now quit wasting my time and undress me, slave â I have important shit to attend to today.â
You wavered only a second, feeling the words like a flick to the forehead. âOf course, your majes-Â master. Forgive me.â You blurted with hands quickly jumping forth to help detangle the knots keeping his robes together.Â
Small fingers working hurriedly to appease him, setting aside the light leather cuirass upon his dresser once loosening it from his torso â wondering if you should tell him your name, though thinking better of it as heâd opted for simply referring to you as a slave instead of asking.Â
You hadnât been called that in a long while â slave â never by anyone in the kitchen, at least. Youâd nearly forgotten it was what you were â a slave â and not just a busy member of the crownâs staff.
You bit your lip with another bow of your head, not wanting the Prince to see your face in its hurt while you undid the ties to the braces on his arms. The castle had become your home rather than a prison over the years, but⊠with the echo of your title wringing in that very heavy tone of his, along with standing there â bowing your head while undressing him of all fine body armor and robes â you couldnât suppress the reminder of being of much lesser blood and birth. A fact that â despite never before having bothered you much â somehow seemed to strangle you now.
Heâd dragged mud in with his boots â and given heâd not bothered taking them off, you were left to believe he wanted you to do it for him. And though humiliating as it was, you crouched down and began undoing the laces nonetheless â further feeling degraded while caressing the boot.
You pulled it off and repeated the action with the other foot â wondering if he meant you to remove his breeches and tunic as well until he, fortunately for you, lifted the shirt off and pulled the strings to the trousers himself. Leaving the undergarments in a pool on the floor next to you.
You kept your eyes down until he was completely submerged in the water, afraid to see something you werenât allowed to â before getting up and padding back to the cupboard. You'd never been any lady's or lord's maid before, but you had been trained in the duties â and though heat rose to your cheeks at the thought of those duties, you still made to grab the soap and loofa in shakey hands before kneeling down on the stool next to the tub.
Youâd never seen the prince if not from afar atop the castle balcony during speeches by his mother, the Queen â and had only ever heard of his appearance as something twisted and foul â but looking at him with his eyes closed, he really didnât look as demonic as people had made him out to be. But further thinking about it, scrubbing his chest with soap and water and oil â you realized that none of those people were likely to have seen him up close either.
He looks every bit royal with his strength of face â cutting edges as though carved in marble, with chiseled muscles gleaming in the water and oil.
He was no doubt very handsome, you concluded silently â finally understanding why he was more of an eligible prince than what his attitude would otherwise allow â that, along with the kingdomâs riches, of course.
He sagged forward while you mindlessly amused your findings â though paying attention enough to take the cue â squeezing water onto his back with the sponge before rubbing over the broad flex of muscles, freezing once hearing him let out a heavy moan.
He leaned back again after you were done. Spilling water onto your dress once pulling his arms out to rest on the frame with a sigh â his chin tipped upward, lounging lazily on the back of the tub.
You reached for his face next â now with a silken cloth â stroking it lightly over the few droplets of blood splattered from when he must have cut into those poor runaways after hunting them down with swords and dogs in heel.
You shuddered some at the thought and must have let your eyes linger too long â or at least long enough not to notice him opening his â staring at you silently with eyes jaded in something that seemed to seize you by the throat.
âIâm sorry, ma-â You tried, but he seemed disinterested in it, reaching for you with wet fingers rubbing on the hem of your collar.
âYouâre not dressed properly.â He said then, voice lazy yet loud â unimpressed, though not enough to be outright angry.
Gulping at the feel of his large hand so close to your neck, your voice only barely held it together. âIâm sorry, master. They hadnât the right maid livery in my size, but Iâll have it ready tomo-â You started, hands folded neatly on your lap.
âTake it off.â He interrupted.
You blinked â tensing with your throat closing â sitting there stunned for a moment before mustering an ever so hesitant answer.
âYour majesty?â
âItâs master. Donât make me tell you again, slave." He growled through grit teeth right at your face after yanking you close by the fabric of your shirt. "And you either dress properly, or you go naked. And right now, it looks like itâll be the latter. Unless you want to be whipped for poor servitude?â
Your eyes â moon-big now while you shook your head â breathing thin through your nose. âNo, master... Iâll undress.â
âGood.â He broke off your collar, dropping you back down onto your seat on the floor before rising with water rushing fast and heavy down along his limbs, dripping onto you as he stepped out with an unfettered splash.
You got up as well, beginning with the buttons on your shirt. Feeling him eye you while he wrapped himself in the towel youâd laid ready for him â his burning gaze leaving you goosefleshed and nearly in tears, bashful as you stepped out of your skirt â naked before him.
You didnât dare look â even as he stepped toward you. Keeping your head bowed low â breath in shivers while eyeing the hand he reached for you, his fingers stopping just short of touching your bare skin.
âClean yourself.â He said then, wafting the same hand to the tub heâd just used. Still filled with bubbles of lavender, though no doubt also of his own grime. But you wouldnât refuse, no matter the degradation â your thoughts still lingering on the former kitchenmaid whoâd disappeared not long after becoming the Prince's personal servant.
You stepped in, feeling the warmth close around your legs â still hot enough to prickle. Lowering yourself down, you sat there â swallowed by the bubbles with the loofa in hand, lathering your flesh with the mix of oil, soap, and water â brushing off soot and sweat â leaving you soft-skinned and smooth to the touch, but also riddled with goosebumps that wouldn't lower under the heavy leer the Prince was giving you.
âGet out and come here.â He said a short moment later, and you got out as told â taking slow steps toward the man, with footprints leaving soapy puddles in their wake.
He reached behind you to pull the pin from your worker's bun, letting your hair cascade in flowy wisps down around your shoulders â before brushing them behind you to clear your face and chest.
Heâd dried off but didnât offer you the towel â having dropped it into a wet pile on the floor â now reaching out to feel the smooth gloss of your breasts with brazen digits. Inspecting and assessing while caressing their weight as you stood there with your head still hung down low â silent and shivering.
Soon his hands fell from your chest down to judge your every curve, sliding over slippery slopes until reaching your cunt â stroking two thick fingers through the drippy curls found there. Gliding them between the lips, he circled your clit with his middle digit â tickling you â while dark eyes watched your lip quiver with a power-hungry gleam.
Stepping closer, the small smirk stretched on his face brushed your hairline where you tried bowing your head even lower in embarrassment â with brows tremoring similar to the hands hanging loosely by your sides.
âArenât you gonna bleat like a little lamb? Hmm... slave?â He asked then â low in a whisper, blowing gently into the sweat of your hair â cold enough to make you shiver even more. âThe slut before you didâŠ.â He added with his smirk sharpening â lips stiffening against your skin where he brushed them in halfhearted kisses down your forehead and temple until reaching the shell of your ear. âI had to wring her little neck just to make her stop squealing.â
You sucked your teeth on impulse, jolting just a bit but not enough to make the dire mistake of moving.Â
âI can tell youâre smarter. Thatâs goodâŠ.â He continued with fingers kept at your cunt â playing your shivering core where you stood planted â dripping wet with bathwater and terrified of moving. âWeak little things like you do better understanding their place.â
Your hands formed loose fists, flinching at your sides as you kept from the urge to wring your thighs shut until he left your sensitivity alone.
âBut smart or not, I believe you missed a spot earlier-â Both his hands found your hair instead. âSo get down on your knees, slave.âÂ
One paw cupped the back of your skull in a ponytail while the other laid flat on your scalp, pushing you down until he had you leveled with his throbbing manhood â thick and high-strung â blushed red and strangled with veins â bobbing with might against the ant trail leading up to his navel and looking every bit impatient to be served.Â
âUse this pretty head of yours to do better, and maybe I won't have to wring your little neck too.â
You eyed the swaying length with eyes crossing â sucking your lip at its intimidating reach and how it seemed to rise higher than your head â mumbling out a weak. âYes, master...â
You dropped your jaw and produced your tongue â feeling him keep control of your head in his tightening hold, yanking your hair before you gave the large cock a flat lick â starting at the base of his balls until flicking off at the very tip.
Not too revolted by the mild taste of lavender and vegetable oil, you locked your lips around the head and sucked it in hopes heâd ease his grip.
âSh-fuuhck- you really do know your place, huh slave?â He mouthed â his head hanging back in a heavy groan â holding your skull in both hands while using them to bob you against his crotch on repeat, lolling his hips inside the wet warm comfort of your mouth a little deeper for each time â only moaning with a laugh once you gave a whine for breath. âSweet and obedient- just how I like- with a nice wet throat to fuck tooâŠ.â
He thought of kicking you when you put your small hands against his thighs to brace yourself â but given how softly you held them there without nails and pinches, he decided heâd grant you the tiny mercy â thinking heâd later teach you to keep your hands on your knees when serving him head like a proper slave ought to.
Tipping his head back again, he looked down at you and the pretty curl between your brows and the cute sight of your teary eyes looking back up at him â giving a hiss at how it made his balls tug in excitement.
âGet up-â He growled, pulling you up by your hair and throat until you shoddily stood upright on unsteady feet â lightheadedly looking at him with dazed eyes and a wet pout. ââThis tight cunt as loyal to the crown as your mouth, hm?â He asked with a hand smacking the soft place, making you yelp before he made to bury two of his thick fingers inside the taunt space.
You whined out softly at the intrusion â kept steady and close by the fist holding your throat in a choke â before he used the same hand to throw you over the bed â stomach first with a slap to your ass.
âBow down, slave- and show me some fucking respect. Youâre in the presence of royalty, remember?â
He mounted you with a pent-up groan â and a strong fist in your hair, pushing your face down into the mount of pillows youâd dallied with earlier. His knees dipped into the plush next to your hips, locking you beneath him with his spit-slickened meat resting between the soft valley of your ass, sliding between the cheeks impatiently.
Gathering your wrists in his other fist, he kept them crossed at the small of your spine â before pulling back and letting his cockhead fall right to your sweetly wet and welcoming opening â wasting little time in piercing it nice and deep in a direct aim â like an arrow shot straight through a target.
You winced and bucked your hips at the attack â feeling your walls weep and sting â fluttering hot around the size of it.
He leaned across your back â heavy against your shoulders with his mouth at your ear in gritty whispers. âI like docile slave girls like you who know a thing or two about pleasing a man. Good submissive sluts who understand theyâre nothing but warm soft meat for men like me to devour.âÂ
His words groaned in nibbling bites on your earlobe â with a hand kept strict and harsh in yanking your head back for him as he slowly started dragging himself out and stuffing you so fast you couldnât keep from yelping at the breach. Toes gripping the cold rocky tiles as your legs shook under you â being rocked into harsh and deep by the muscle strength of the beast on top.
âI'm not the first one youâve bent over for, huh?â He continued with a grin, haughtily chuckling in low breathy condescension. âProbably the first one youâve had take you in a proper bed, though, hm? And not in a hayloft on whatever dirty farm you grew up on.âÂ
Your fingernails punched into your palms where he wrung your wrists tight, keeping you pressed flat beneath him while he heedlessly rutted into you like you were nothing but his own snug fist.Â
âI bet the whole village had a go seeing how pretty you turned out.â He laughed again, scoffing at it with his tongue tickling your ear. âDid they all fuck you like this? From behind like a farm animal? On all fours with your pretty face moaning in the mud?â Simpering, he sped up as though aroused by his own words.
Twisting your hair tighter and groaning louder against your ear â chasing your deepest parts with balls clapping hard against your clit.
âYouâre all fuckin'Â inbreds- Itâs a fucking miracle your filthy parents created something like you-Â prettier than all the bratty princesses I have to listen to yap all day.â He moaned â now fully drooling against your face, nomming on your ear with heavy breaths.
Fully draping you in his sweaty muscles, you lay gasping beneath the weight â cunt clenching hard around his shaft â making him hiss.
âAh fuck- It's nice coming home to an obedient slave- so tight and warm- grateful for a royal cock in your poor slave cunt, huh?â
You winced at his pounding, so deep you felt it choke you â making your stomach fold and curl, trying to protect itself from the assault. âYes- thank you, master- thank you-â You cried while he placed sloppy layers of wet kisses down your temple and cheek in return â until finally pulling off.
âCome here, down on your knees-â Ripping himself to his feet, he pulled you with him by the fist riddled in your hair and pushed you down at the foot end.Â
Tugging on his cock in the other hand â quick faps in the slick â he kept you looking up at him while slapping the wet weight in sticky taps against your lips.Â
âOpen wide, slave- here it comes-âÂ
Only one more jerk and it all blew in thick white beams shooting across your face â spewing in clusters, hitting you once on your forehead and another over the nose - dripping to your lips into your gaping mouth where he focused on squeezing out the rest â tapping the plush creamy tip against your tongue while panting.Â
âMh-fuck- clean me off and swallow.â
With breaths heavy and slowing, he detangled his hand from your sweaty locks and made to pet your head instead. Gently running his fingers over your hair while watching you obediently kiss and lick up all the spill in tired and slow yet devoted strokes with your tongue until it was all prettily wiped clean.
âGood slave.â The Crown Prince hummed then.
Finally sounding satisfied â still with a lazy hand holding your head where you so faithfully sat at his feet, swallowing his seed, while his satiated cock grew limp in regard.
âNow go wash off while the waterâs still warm, and come out and help me get dressed.â He ordered, voice groggily soft in the after high. âI have a full schedule today looking at potential brides⊠and I want my little farm animal by my side to keep me going insane from boredom.â

Jacaerys Velaryon x Orphan Reader
Request: âJacaerys , who grew up together with the Reader - whom Rhaenyra adopted and raised. Over time, their friendship changed, but since they never had the courage to admit their feelings, they gradually began to distance themselves from each other. When Jacaerys is promised to Baela, their relationship is no longer the same. They both blame each other for what happened and continue to minimize their interactions until their father promises her hand in marriage to someone else.â
A/N: Request written by anon. A very interesting concept that I thoroughly enjoyed writing.
Please remember that english is not my native language, I do not use it on a daily basis, so mistakes can or will happen.
Work contains smut, so minors do not interact.
-Since she found out , she has not spoken a word to meâŠshe hates me - the young prince lamented to his mother , Princess Rhaenyra , who watched him carefully , furrowing her eyebrows in consternation.
-You yourself said that you have hatred for her , why now your indifference to her has changed so drastically? - his mother remarked, looking for every single emotion that bubbled up inside him, wanting to understand what was hidden in the mind of her eldest son.
-I never hated her - he denied , closing his eyes and sighing heavily , frustrated -She is the one who hates me. She barely talks to me , and when she does it's as if ice falls out of her mouth instead of words.
-And why that bothers you now, my sweet boy? - Rhaenyra said softly, coming up to him and putting her hand on his shoulder - What happened that now , so suddenly, you crave her attention and acceptance?
Jacaerys was silent for a while, looking into the distance through the chamber window. Eventually he turned to his mother, his eyes filled with helplessness and anger , which slowly took control over his body.
He wanted to scream , he wanted to break everything within his reach and turn it into dust. But he did nothing and without a word , he walked away.
His steps were rapid , almost violent and hard. He walked through the corridors of Dragonstone as if the beast possessed his flesh , leaving behind a raw anger and tension that made the air heavier. And before he could chase away the fog that clouded his mind , he found himself in the chamber of his sister - Y/n Velaryon.
His dark eyes wandered involuntarily through the empty chamber , while his hands touched things that belonged to her. Stuck in an ocean of memories , he paused at the wooden desk, his fingers gliding over the material adorning the covers of old books , some closed , some open on pages , which she had read many times ,along with him , when they were still full of innocence.
He let himself remember , until his gaze rested on a piece of paper hidden between the pages. And before he could think about the subsequent consequences and implications , his hand uncover a letter , a letter regarding her...and the betrothal with Samwell Blackwood's son.
-Why are you here? - suddenly a female voice called out , a voice belonging to his younger sister , who was standing in the threshold of the chambers , looking at him , frowning her eyebrows.
-You can't marry him - he said , looking at her like an enraged animal, ignoring her question - You can't - he repeated, his body yet again being controlled by anger.
Her eyes rested on the paper , that was held by the young man in a disturbingly strong grip.
-How dare you tell me what to do? - she asked him , her voice dangerously cold -How dare you?!
-I dare to tell you what to do because I am your brother -he growled , clenching his hand into a fist , in which there was a letter.
-Brother? - she made an ironic sound - Our mother may have taken me under her care and raised me as her own, but that does not mean that you are my brother, no brother should be indifferent, cruel and cold as you are - she stated, and every word she spoke sounded like a sea of daggers that were cutting his body.
Jacaerys moved towards her, trapping her between the heavy wooden door and her own body.
-You talk about coldness and indifference? You are a hypocrite - he muttered, furrowing his thick eyebrows in annoyance - You are the one who destroyed the bond we once had. From the moment Baela was promised to me, you decided to destroy everything that was between us.
-If this is what you think - she scoffed, her eyes and voice devoid of emotions - If I make you so unhappy, you should be glad that I'm leaving for the Riverlands. You won't have to listen to me anymore, you won't have to see me.
-Do you truly think that's far enough? Do you think that there is a corner of this Earth that you could travel to far away enough to free me from this torment? - he muttered , looking into her siren eyes that seemed to draw him in.
They were both breathing harshly , words hanging heavy between them.
-What do you want me to do? - she whispered, feeling the air between them getting hotter -What do you want me to do to end your torment? - she asked , looking at him with misty eyes.
-I want youâŠto be mine - he replied - From the moment you let me touch your soft skin, from the moment you let me hear your voice, from the moment you let me admire your beautiful face I wanted you to be mine. Please dear sister , please let me be mine. Don't leave me, just be mine and I will be yours.
In response, the woman embraced his jaw with her warm palm and, moving closer to him, she let her full lips brush his.
-Nyke emagon va moriot issare aĆhon Jacaerys (I have always been yours Jacaerys) - she confessed quietly , closing her eyes as his lips began to press against hers , desperate to feel her even closer , even more intensely.
Wet kisses spread over her lips , cheeks and jawline , leaving a trail of saliva behind. Jacaerys kissed her everywhere he could , marking her face with his mouth.
They were both needy , oh so needy. Every touch , every caress ,every whimper , every moan was more desperate than the last.
-Jaes ao yknagon sÄ«r sÈłz (Gods you smell so good) - he muttered , moving his nose along her neck , taking in the scent of the oils she sprinkled on her body and the sweat that had managed to appear on her skin through the heat she was in -Ao sylutegon sÈłz tolÄ« issa dĆna mandia, sÄ«r sÈłz (You taste good too my sweet sister , so good) - he whispered in the hollow of her neck , licking and biting her pulse , while his long fingers , lazily hooked into the black fabric of her dress , letting it fall from her shoulders , revealing her firm , ample breasts.
-Oh Jacaerys - she mewled , embracing his head, entwining her fingertips between his wavy hair, pulling at its ends, drawing him closer to her -Don't stopâŠplease don't stop touching me.
-DĆrÄ« (Never) - he breathed out into her mouth , before he attacked her naked breasts , his tongue swirling around the hardened nipples , sucking them and tasting them with his tongue like a man starved.
Y/n moaned quietly , closing her eyes and surrendering to the feeling of a man's mouth on her skin and hands that sensually glided over her thighs , pulling the dark material up , revealing the material of her delicate undergarments.
-Jacaerys - she whimpered , watching as he sank to his knees in front of her.
-Will you let me taste you? - he asked , with rough fingers gliding along her smooth legs , stopping at her rounded hips , revealing her wet , swollen womanhood.
-Yes , yes , yes - she whispered , closing her eyes and tilting her head.
He was gentle and painfully slow, kissing and sucking her firm skin, leaving marks on her flesh as he got closer and closer to where she needed him the most.
She quickly fell into numbness. The amount of attention she was receiving seemed to overwhelm her body, but even so, she didn't want the moment to ever end, not with Jacaerys tormenting her womanhood in such an addictive way. She could compare him to a hungry animal , by the fact with what fervor he devoured her femininity, sampling every piece, not wanting to miss absolutely anything. She let the knot in her lower abdomen burst, spreading through her body the delightful and burning pleasure that was constantly coursing through her veins through the tongue of a man who refused to leave her, feasting on her even longer.
-Please let me feel you closer. I need you closer , closer than you have ever been - he groaned , embracing her frame , securing it in his strong arms and moving them so that he rested on the bed behind them, placing Y/n on his strong legs, immediately proceeding to attack her neck with slow kisses, while his hands crept to her throbbing entrance, which was waiting for him, embracing him tightly as he inserted two fingers into her, sensually moving them.
-Whatever you want , I'll give you whatever you want. But I beg you , don't make me wait my dear brotherâŠI beg you. I need you as you need meâŠcloser than we everwere - she whispered into his mouth , leaning her head towards his.
She moaned, wrapping her arms around his shoulders as Jacaerys removed his fingers from her tight canal , replacing them with his thick and veiny shaft that penetrated her gummy walls, making her hide her face in the hollow of his neck, moaning and panting as she felt her brother pushing inside her for the first time, kissing her cervix with his member, giving her incredible pleasure and pain that only increased her desire.
He tried to be gentle and slow, but the nails digging into his back, the melodious moans at his ear and the warmth of his sweet sister's body made him rough , almost violent , taking advantage of her trembling body , which seemed to melt into his.
-Ăuha jorrÄelagon (My beloved) - Y/n whined , feeling the recently discovered pleasure grow in her lower abdomen, forming another knot ready to burst at any moment.
-Ivestragon nyke iksÄ Ă±uhon (Tell me you're mine) - the prince growled, thrusting into her harder, making her feel as if his manhood was deep in her belly.
-Iksan aĆhon, iksan aĆhon, mÄrÄ« aĆhon! (I'm yours, I'm yours, only yours!) - Y/n announced, grabbing his wavy curls, pulling them tight as an electrifying sensation went through her body, making her almost blind with pleasure.
-Arlī , ivestragon ziry arlī (Again , say it again) - he demanded, attacking her neck.
-Iksan aĆhon (I am yours) - she repeated, bringing their foreheads together.
Yours. Yours. Yours.
After everything, she was finally his.

Word count: 2,2k words
Enjoy the read!
Xiao
You have to understand him. He's just looking out for you!
There is a clear, natural difference in strength between you and him!
He's an adeptus after all, and you're just a human! Sure, you possess a vision and you know perfectly well how to utilize it to your advantage in battle, but he's still your boyfriend! Let him be worried about you!
Honestly, he really just had your best interest and saftey in mind when he approached you one day, offering to train with you and possibly make you stronger, since he noticed your form to be a bit lacking when he watched you train.
The problem was, he told you exactly what he was thinking, no filter whatsoever. Which in turn caused you to get a bit defensive with him. That didn't sit right with Xiao, because in his eyes, he was only trying to help you.
This then resulted in a huge argument, where neither of you wanted to back down against the other.
"(Name), for the love of the Archons. Can't you see I'm only trying to help you here?"
"By berating me and telling me all the things I'm doing wrong? Without offering any advise at all? Yeah, great help.", you scoff as you turn your back to your boyfriend, trying to resume your exercise in peace. You were hoping that he would get the hint, to leave you alone. But he didn't.
"I'm really only looking out for you. You lack basic knowledge with the sword and you lack stamina as well. You're moving around too much, you make so many unnecassary movements. The hold you have on your weapon is too loose. Anyone could easily knock it out of your hand. Also-!"
"Okay! I got it!", you suddenly burst out as Xiao keeps on listing the things you're doing wrong in his eyes. It not only frustrated you, but it also made you feel so inferior.. to him and basically everyone else. You know that everyone starts out at some point. Everyone has to learn from the beginning. So why is he being so mean to you? Shouldn't he be more supporting of you as your boyfriend?
"I get it. You've made your point very clear."
You speak again, while Xiao just stares at you, mouth still hanging open. He didn't expect for you to raise your voice like this. You were usually so soft spoken.
You stared into each others eyes for a few more seconds, before you let out a sigh and placed your sword back into its sheat.
"I'm going home.", you announce as you go to grab your stuff. You collect everything and put it in your back, leaving without taking another look at him.
Suddenly, Xiao got the feeling that he made a huge mistake. Not only by "helping" you out with your training, but also as he let you go like this without having a talk with you, but something told him to let you be for the time being.
.....
Well... did he regret letting you just go like that. It has been almost a week since he last saw you, because you refused to call his name like you usually did on a daily basis.
And he was afraid of seeking you out himself, since he feared to only further sour your mood with an unannounced visit from his side. But he wanted to see you again so badly...
When the one week mark was reached without hearing anything from you, Xiao has had enough. He needed to make sure that you were okay. He was certain you would have called his name if you were in mortal danger, despite the argument at hand, but it's better to be safe than sorry. He needed to know you were still alive..
So, he teleported to your home, waiting for a few seconds in front of the door, gathering courage, before knocking on the door. He waited and waited, but nothing happened. He knocked again, but still nothing.
Xiao was about to leave again, scolding himself in his head, because of course you wouldn't open, you obviously didn't want to see him right now, when he heard noises coming from a bit further away.
Deciding to investigate, he followed the noises. And what he saw did shock him a bit..
He saw you, standing in a circle of training dummys, practicing different moves and tactics. He could tell that your hold on the blade has gotten better over the week you have been apart. In fact, everything he had critiqued about your skills seems to have improved...
Have you been training relentlessly this entire time??
This made him feel even more bad about this entire argument. He wanted to help you, not make you overexert yourself like this, just to prove something to him..
Deciding that it was finally time to talk, he approached you. You heard the footsteps coming your direction and turned towards them. Surprised to see Xiao there, you stopped in the middle of your session, facing him.
It was quiet for a few seconds as he arrived in front of you, and when you couldn't take it anymore, you decided to speak up again.
"What? Here to berate me even more?" It sounded way more sarcastic and hurtful than you had intended it to, and you saw Xiao flinch the slightest bit at your words, but you didn't back down from them.
"No..", Xiao answered weakly.
"I'm here to apologize." His words left you surprised, not expecting this at all.
"I didn't realize how much my words were hurting you. That was never my intention, (Name). I.. I'm just worried about you. There is a clear difference in skill, after all, but I shouldn't have been like this to you. I sincerely apologize for the way I treated you."
You have been with Xiao long enough to know two things. First, he was being completely honest with you. You could tell by the tone in his voice and the way he tried to look into your eyes, while also trying to avoid them at the same time, feeling embarrassed about being this vulnerable with someone.
Second, you knew just how hard it was for him to be honest and vulnerable with you. Saying this must have caused so much for him to do, yet he did it anyway.. for you.
For a second, you stood there and stared at him, before sighing and walking over to him, wrapping your arms around his body in a warm, comfortable hug. He did not hesitate for a second before doing the same, having missed this feeling dearly for the past week.
"I don't mind you helping me or giving me advise.. but maybe don't be so brash and insulting about it. Okay?"
He nodded, promising you to be more careful with his words from now on.
Wanderer
You sighed with relief as the Ruin guard in front of you collapsed and shattered into its parts, the cut on your side hurting a bit when you breathed, but it wasn't bleeding too bad, so the wound must not be too bad, either.
You were usually not that easy to surprise, but for some reason, you overlooked that particular ancient machine, resulting in it getting a hit on you before it was taken down.
Though, you were not the one responsible for taking it down. The actual reason was flying in from behind it, your boyfriend, Kuni. And while you were smiling at him, wanting to thank him for his help, he had a scowl on your face as he landed in front of you.
"What the hell were you thinking, Idiot? You would be dead now if it weren't for me being here!", he shouted as soon as he landed, not letting you get a word in.
You were taken aback by his harsh words and tone, staring at him, which only made him even more agitated.
"The hell? You don't even have an excuse! How can you be so fucking careless? I know you're weak but I wouldn't have thought of you being this stupid as well!"
You heard each and every single one of his words, and they all stung right in your chest. You were aware of the difference in power between you two, but that didn't mean you were incompetent with your polearm. You've trained long and hard to get to the point where you are now, and you were proud of yourself for it.
When you looked into his eyes again, you could see a bit of shock behind them, like he was surprised himself that the words actually left his lips.
You waited a few seconds, to see if he would apologize to you or take them back, but nothing came. Kuni's pride hindered him from doing the right thing..
"I see. If that's what you think of me, I won't be in your way again."
The words sounded cold when they left your lips, and Kunikuzushi flinched ever so slightly when hearing them, but you didn't react to it. Instead, you turned and walked away from him without acknowledging his presence any longer.
"Hey! What do you think you're doing? Where are you going?", he shouted after you, but no response. Then, he chased after you, but when he noticed that you were still ignoring him, he gave up on it, figuring that it would be best to leave you alone for the time being.
Surely, you would come crawling back to him soon enough... right?
....
....
Two weeks.
The incident has happened two weeks ago. And for those two weeks, he did not hear or see anything of you, whatsoever.
He was so sure that you wouldn't even survive a week without him before coming back and apologizing, but it seemed like he was wrong this time.
And he hated to admit this, even to himself, but.. he missed you. Missed your stupid, cheerful smile, your laugh and the way you always made his day better, just by spending time with him.
After about a week and a half, he began to think, that maybe, this time, he was actually the one in the wrong. That maybe, he took it too far with his words this time around.
Maybe.. he should be the one to apologize to you.
And yet, it took him a few more days to overcome his stupidly high pride and actually follow through with his thoughts.
Nahida, who knew all about the situation from Kuni himself, smiled and nodded proudly as the puppet went to leave the Sanctuary of Surasthana.
He first searched for you at your home, but you couldn't be found there. Then, he went on a stroll through the city, hoping to run into you along the way, but that too, proofed to be without success.
His last hope was the adventurers guild, and that someone hopefully has seen you there.
And luck was on his side this time, as some other members told him about how you have constantly been taking commission after commission for the past few days.
Feeling his worries for you rise again, he went to the locations given to him, hoping to find you there.
About an hour or so later, he spotted you at the location of the third commission you took, standing next to a defeated ruin drake while facing another one head on.
He had half a mind to rush over and take care of it for you, but something in him told him to let you handle it yourself. So he watched with bated breath as you easily took care of the machine, letting it fall to the ground while you remained completely unharmed.
That's when he really realized what his words might have caused for you. You are by no means a sheltered human, you're capable of defending yourself, and very well so.
As you were checking the defeated drakes for useful stuff, he came out of his 'hiding spot', walking directly to you. You noticed him approaching but chose to ignore him still. In fact, you've noticed his presence in the middle of the fight, but decided not to call him out and see what he would do.
When he arrived, he just stood next to you in silence for a while, watching you. But when you still wouldn't acknowledge him, he decided to speak up.
"(Name)... I... I'm sorry..", he mumbled quietly. He felt embarrassed, not used to acting like the bigger person, but he was in the wrong here, so he had to do this, no matter what.
The words out of Kuni's mouth caught you by surprise, your head swirling around to look at him, finally.
Kunikuzushi didn't know what else to say right now, so he stayed silent, hoping you would understand how difficult this was for him right now.
"..I'm not weak.", you answered him quietly as well, fully facing him now, but your posture and tone seemed a bit more open and calmer now.
"..I know."
He may not be the best with words, but somehow, you always understood what he wanted to say, anyways. It has always been this way between you. It was one of the many things he loved so much about you.
And that's how it was this time, too. He quietly thanked the Gods when he pulled you into his arms again, holding you for the first time in what had felt like an eternity.

ENHA AND THEIR PARTNER PRIVILEGES
req for 1k event!
PROMPT enha and the types of partner privileges theyâd give their s/o
PAIRING enha x gnr
GENRE est. relationship, fluff
WARNINGS swearing, delusions
W. COUNT 0.6k
S. NOTE i loved writing this omg
LEE HEESEUNG
( going into his bedroom unannounced )
ever since hee got his own bedroom everything changed
god forbid any of the members go into his room without asking first
even if they go in to tell him something they have to knock first
so imagine the shock on their face when they saw you one day just go in
no knocking, no nothing
and hee didnât even get mad?? didnât even bring it up to you
made all the members (especially niki) sulk cause why could you go in whenever you please whilst they couldnâtÂ
PARK JONGSEONG
( touching his guitar set )
the way jay is protective over his guitars youâd think he birthed them himselfÂ
one of the members could simply breath next them and he starts losing his shit
canât even be near it cause âwhat if you trip and fall into itâ
next thing you know hereâs jay trying to teach you guitar
you didnât even know he acted like that until the members made it seem like you killed someone when you randomly took it out of the case one day
they all told you how he acts whenever they go near it
cue the offended gasp when they find out jay has never acted that way with youÂ
SIM JAEYUN
( sleep together )
as much as jake is a physically affectionate person
he hates sharing a bedÂ
heâs just always preferred sleeping without having fight someone over his own blanket
but with you he insists to sleep together
heâs even kicked out niki one too many times out of his bed
and even if you do sometimes (read: most of the time) end up stealing the blanket, he uses that as an excuse to cuddle you for warmth
PARK SUNGHOON
( ruffle/touch his hair )
one of hoons biggest pet peeve is when someone touches his hair
and if someone even so much as comes near his hair once heâs styled it
be ready to deal with a pissed off sunghoon
the amount of arguments heâs had with the other members over this is crazy
so, when you decided to on day ruffle his hair in front of the boys after they watched him spend 15 minutes on it, they were prepared for an argument
surprise surprise he just laughs at your antics leaving the boys offended because âwhat happened to bros before hoesâ
KIM SUNWOO
( be physically affectionate )
as much as jake is physically affectionate with everyone, sunoo isnât
heâs always been someone to be a little uncomfortable with any show of physical touch
thus, never initiating itÂ
cue the members pouting as soon as they see sunoo run to give you a hug
all start complaining how he never hugs them, or even returns their own hugs
confuses you a little cause sunoo has never not been affectionate with you, even before your relationship
YANG JUNGWON
( cry in front of you )
as the leader of enhypen, jungwon has always believed he has to be the pillar of the group
or where he basically never shows when anything is bothering/upsets him to his membersÂ
as much as all the members keep reassuring him that itâs okay to cry in front of them
youâd never catch yang jungwon dead crying
except you apparently
to you, jungwon had always seemed to be secure with his emotions, and maybe the members are jealous who knows
NISHIMURA RIKI
( babying him )
no matter how many times niki will insist heâs âmatureâ
heâll always be your baby
doesnât matter if youâre older or younger than him
boy doesnât even let the members baby him as the maknae
they could simply call him a cute nickname and suddenly he becomes defensive
everyone was shocked to find out he willingly lets you call him âbaby duckâ after ranting to the whole nation that he is a puma

PIDW!YQY goes back in time to his disciple days after he dies. Heâs alone and upset, and determined to do things right this time. He wonât take a sword too early, but he will still rush to go save SJ because that has to fix something, right?
At least this time he already knows how to read and write, and the basics of cultivating. Everyone is heralding him as a prodigy, and as soon as his child body is ready, heâs taking a sword to go save SJ.
Except there is one other thing he needs to do. He can leave most of his future sect siblings alone to do their thing, and catch up with them later. Thereâs no point in interfering with something that doesnât need his help. But! That slimy traitor Shang Qinghua!
He caused so many problems for them. YQY did not want him as a head disciple of An Ding, or as the peak lord, so he goes to do something about it.
Only⊠Did SQH always act like that? Was he always so nervous? YQY watched him almost cry as an older disciple shoved work onto him, instead of glaring and backstabbing them later. What had happened to him over the years?
What is actually happening is that YQY had known OG!SQH and this is Airplane. Completely different people! But YQY doesnât know that, and can only assume that SQH betrayed the sect after years and years of hardship! And YQY is selfish, and very SJ focused, but even he isnât so much of a hypocrite as to condemn SQH for something he wouldnât condemn SJ for.
So he goes and befriends him. Mostly to keep an eye on him, and to stop him from being a traitor, but still. Meanwhile, SQH is shocked and confused why the future sect leader is even talking to him?? And what to be his friend?? He didnât really have much of those, and maybe he liked the company, but he knew what was to happen! What was the point in getting close to YQY only to watch him suffer?
Wow, screw that. SQH pulls some strings and goes up to YQY one day and says, âWow! Look! A mission, for us, two young disciples without swords, days away! Wonât this be fun?!â
YQY stared at the mission sheet, which looks entirely authentic, blankly. It takes them right to the town that he had left SJ in. âWhere did you get this?â
âMy Shizun.â
ââŠ.â
ââŠ.your Shizun?â
ââŠâ
âUhg, find. I might have forged it. For a vacation? Itâll be fun.â
It was not fun. But they got SJ back and ran for it and made it back to the sect in good time. Their shizunâs were upset, but they couldnât find a way that the mission could have been forged because it was that good. YQY was suddenly glad to have SQH on his side, and is now completely convinced that he had seer powers.
Maybe that was why he joined the demons last time? Years of abuse at the sect, and knowledge that demons would win? YQY hates it, but is only more determined to keep SQH as a friend. He starts laying hints that if SQH ever meets a demon, that YQY would like to know about it! Heâll be less made if he was told, as opposed to finding out later, promise!
SJ, for his part, can tell what YQY is doing to a point. Heâs just glad that YQY has actually started manipulating people to his advantage. His Qi-Ge is really growning up.
Donât ask me what happens what SQH does come up to YQY to tell him about MBJ. I havenât thought that far lol

October 29 - Kidnapping
pairing:Â dom!Wanda x sub!Reader
summary:Â Wanda kidnaps you.
content warnings: kidnapping, possessiveness, stalking
word count:Â 1.6k+
masterlist
comments and reblogs are always appreciated! happy reading âĄ
Truly, it was your own fault that you were in this situation. You hadnât been paying attention, oblivious to the eyes watching you as you made your way home from your job.Â
In all honesty, you were the perfect target. You were beautiful and shy, not too sociable. You didnât have many friends, and you spoke to your parents maybe three times a year. The homely routine of yours consisted of going to work, buying groceries, and spending time at home reading.Â
It was a quiet life, and you didnât mind it.Â
Unfortunately, youâd caught the eye of a woman passing through town. Her boredom had become overwhelming, her need for a source of entertainment growing with each day. Well, it was more of a need for obsession, to focus on something that would utterly captivate her, and you were doing a fine job of that.
Wanda Maximoff, recently recovering (sort of) from destroying the darkhold and subsequently any hope of finding her children, had been aimlessly driving through town when she saw you.Â
God, you were perfect. You had a charming bookbag around your shoulder, with wired earbuds in as you walked. Wanda couldnât remember the last time sheâd seen someone with wired earbuds, or someone who read a book while walking. She was worried that youâd bump into something, but you navigated the main road easily, only glancing up every few seconds.Â
Your hair was pulled into a ponytail, the curls a day old as you hurried towards your destination. If Wanda had to guess, you were late to something, most likely a job. Your cheeks were flushed, but your eyes remained on your book, as if unable to tear yourself away from the words.Â
Suddenly, Wanda was overcome with the need to read that book. She wanted to know everything about you. What did you eat in the morning, did you thrift your sweater, how many people would look for you if you went missing?
The last question sent a thrill through Wanda, and she could feel a part of her clicking into place.Â
It was you.Â
You are what she needs. Only you can save her from this dangerous edge she was teetering on. With you in her possession, Wanda would finally find a purpose again. She wanted to make you fully hers, someone who would love her as much as she loved them.Â
It wasnât that hard to book a dingy motel on the edge of town, and Wanda made sure that you never saw her as she followed you. She learned so much about you in two short weeks. You were almost always running late to something, your nose buried in a different book every few days. The only stores you frequented were the grocery store, the used book store, and an antique thrifting shop that had Wanda turning up her nose.Â
When you were hers, she would buy you the finest things. You wouldnât need to shop at secondhand stores anymore. She could tell you werenât struggling financially, but you werenât living comfortably either. Your apartment was many blocks from the main road, with broken street lamps around it and an unkempt yard.Â
Wanda hated seeing you live in such a decrepit old place. What if something happened to you? Obviously, you didnât see the lingering looks men and women alike would give you, but Wanda did. It had her fingers itch and her ears burn when she would watch them, your attention elsewhere as you hurried past them.Â
On Friday night, after watching you return home to read your book on the couch, surrounded by blankets and a mug of hot chocolate, Wanda decided that you were hers.Â
It was laughably easy to follow you in her car, the headlights off as you walked home late the next evening. You had a closing shift on the weekends, but you were blissfully ignorant of the dangers of the world, your earbuds firmly in place as you squinted at the words in your book.Â
All Wanda had to do was drive around the block and park her car under one of the many broken street lamps. You didnât even hear her get out of her car, your attention fully captivated by the book.
She nearly reveals herself too soon, delirious at the thought of being near you. You pass by her, your perfume causing her knees to tremble and weaken slightly before she finds herself overcome with the need to possess you.Â
Wanda could have used a spell to capture you, but what's the fun in that? Besides, she really wanted to feel your squirming body against hers. Sheâs waited long enough.Â
âWhat the fu-â you manage to say, your book dropping from your hands as you feel someone clap a hand over your mouth. You can still hear your music playing through your earbuds, and you resist as one earbud drops out. A womanâs chuckle sounds out right next to your ear, and you feel your blood run cold.Â
Who the fuck laughs after grabbing someone? You hope itâs a joke, but the strength in the hands that haul you over to a red car is too much for you to pull away from. The scent of sickly sweet vanilla hits your nose, and you blink in confusion as youâre forced into the passenger seat of the car.Â
The woman is too quick for you, shoving you in and slamming the door before you have time to react. You can see her moving around the car, and dive for the driver's seat, your fingers scrabbling on the lock.
Youâre too slow, and the woman gives you a withering stare as she sits in the driverâs seat and pulls the door firmly shut behind her. Itâs the first time youâve fully seen her face, and the only thing you can think about is how beautiful the woman is.Â
Honestly, sheâs god-level ethereal.Â
Confusion fills you, your heart beating as you try to undo the lock on your side. Your fingers search the frame, but you find only a hole where the lock is supposed to be.Â
âYou wonât be able to escape, dear,â the woman says, and you jump at the sound of her low voice. She sounds almost⊠friendly. What the fuck is going on?
Staring at her silently, you attempt to formulate a plan. Itâs almost as if the woman can hear you thinking, because she smirks at you when you consider hitting her over the head with your bag.
âYou and I both know that the only things you keep in that bag are a book and a sweater,â she says, her eyes full of mirth. Theyâre green, you notice, and then admonish yourself. âBut go ahead at try, sweetheart.â
God, you wish sheâd stop calling you pet names, it was confusing.Â
âMy name is Wanda,â the woman says, her eyes gazing at you. The expression on her face is unnerving, and you remain silent, watching her as she easily turns onto the highway.Â
Itâs late, and there are barely any other cars around. Some small part of you knows that you wonât be able to escape. Any attempt you make will be futile, so you just stare at her with wide eyes as your fingers nervously fiddle with your book bag.
What were you supposed to say?
âTypically,â Wanda begins, a soft smile on her face as one hand leaves the wheel. You watch it drift closer, fear and anticipation making their way through you. âWhen someone offers their name, you should offer yours in return.â
Her hand rests lightly on your thigh, and you feel revulsion fill you. Quickly, you push her hand off, pressing yourself against the door to get as far away from her as possible. Wandaâs green eyes snap to you, anger swirling in the depths as she grabs your thigh again, this time digging her fingers in.
âDo not ever reject me,â she says, her voice tight and low.Â
Something sparks in the air between you, and you can practically feel her anger as it fills the car. Nodding quickly, you blink as the suffocating anger disappears in an instant and an easy smile slips back on her face.Â
Those fingers start stroking your thigh, gentle and slow. You normally wouldnât mind it if a pretty woman touched you like this, but you just⊠you just got fucking kidnapped.
Your breaths come short now, panic making its way through you as you stare out the front window. The woman seems oblivious to the rising emotions within you, her eyes locked on the road as she continues speaking.
âYouâre going to love our house, darling.â Wanda smiles brightly at you. âItâs soundproof. And it has a dungeon, can you believe it?â
A choked whimper escapes you, and you remain silent. Wanda sends a sharp look your way, and you realize that sheâs waiting for a response. You shake your head slowly.Â
âUse your words, sweetheart. I want to hear that pretty voice of yours.â
Pretty?Â
âUm,â you say quietly, unnerved by the level of attention you were receiving. âOkay?â
Wanda chuckles at that, and you press yourself as far away from her as possible. The door handle digs into your side, but you donât care. You want out. You want out of this car with a creepy, gorgeous woman touching you and making you feel conflicted things, and you want to go back and finish your book.
âDonât you understand, darling?â Wanda asks, looking at you with a dark look behind her eyes. Her voice and smile are soft, a direct contradiction to her next words.Â
âYou are mine. You can never leave. I wonât let you.â
