(241/?) Those constant moves!
Thanks to the goofy business going around in this hellsite (affectionate) wrt Martin Scorcese's non-existent yet somehow more relevant-than-ever companion piece to Mean Streets that shall go unnamed, I decided to watch 3 movies yesterday, which was my extra day off work. And, like, can we stop pretending Aaron Sorkin is a good TV/Movie writer and not just a has-been that has stagnated for the better part of his career? ---- The first two movies were fun as can be: - Mean Streets, a legit fun and fairly re-watchable flick if you ever get in the mood for old crime dramas that aren't marred down by pointless (and let's be honest, sometimes harmful) nostalgia. - The Princess Bride, which remains a phenomenal, (mostly) lighthearted romp for the ages. ---- Again, both movies accomplish what they're out to do and are hella entertaining, even after all these years. For the third movie, my brother-in-law picked The Social Network and let me come forward for a moment: I used to like the way Aaron Sorkin wrote when I was younger, but damn does his writing age out terribly. Like worse than milk going spoiled. He's like Charles Bukowski, but without the transgressive charm that's at least occasionally fun on a re-read. ____ (From here on I'll basically ranting against Aaron Sorkin's writing style. if mildly irate, unnecessarily foul-mouthed tirades are not your thing, I absolutely understand and deeply apologize. I'll post something far more agreeable tomorrow. Feel free to skip this one.)
---- Like sure, I know that making an interesting movie about Mark Zuckerberg + the creation of facebook was a tall order as it were already, and in that aspect, Sorkin absolutely delivered because some things about the film are actually attention-grabbing, but goddamn, his dialogue is still as stilted and house-of-cards-esque as ever. ---- And like, it's fine, you don't need to write dialogue like everyone else, dialogue that feels natural or what-have-you, it'd be boring if everyone sounded the same. But holy shit, it feels like I'm watching Jesse Eisenberg, Justin Timberlake, Andrew Garfield et al and they're taking turns RP'ing as different aspects of Aaron Sorkin's psyche. ---- How has he remained a staple of television and cinema for 30 fucking years and the dude hasn't learned to write fun dialogue for either medium? It legit baffles more than a little bit. Like yes, I get that he started as a playwright, and it absolutely shows on his early films like A Few Good Men, Malice and the American President; the beat of a theater play is there. It's janky, but for those films, it absolutely works. The same mostly goes for his first TV series, Sports Night. ---- But holy fuck, I remember when I had to watch the West Wing with a couple of bosses to kill the time back in the 00's. Like the "walk and talk" schtick does a good job of concealing it, and the actors sell you on the dialogue well enough sometimes with their delivery (Allison Janney was, bar none, the best actor in the show), but holy shit was the West Wing consistently fucking terrible. ---- Anyway, my recommendation? Skip the Social Network and just buy the soundtrack, because not even with all the incredible talent on set and behind cameras (David Fincher directing, Jeff Cronenweth as cinematographer and Trent Reznor + Atticus Ross doing the soundtrack) does this thing elevate beyond mediocre, and it only further proves that Holywood will just never stop huffing its own farts until it's too late to correct course. Have yourselves a good night and read you later, alligator!

Man Suang Press Conference [08/08/2023]
Interviewed: Pond (Exec Producer and CEO of BOC, Nat (Director), Mile, Apo, Tong, Bas, and Kru Ning (Script Writer and Acting Coach).
Q. What is Man Suang and how did it start?
Pond: Man = human, Suang = heaven; together heaven x human such as entertainment complex. Man Suang represents an entertainment complex where anyone can be anything. People chosen to be in Man Saung are carefully selected. Within the equality in Man Suang, it also represents the landscape of the real world. The Man Suang production is really brought together by people's love of art and the dream to create great production and quality work that also at times does not match the budget or traditional work culture. But the crew and everyone really have the same the dream and is willing to do what it takes to make Man Suang on the scale, goal, and vision we have.
Q: Why did this project require 3 directors?
Nat: i knew about KPTS and Kru Ning as an academic working on project that is being appreciated by the mass. And knowing Pond, who has the same goal, as a director, my role is to facilitate the process as it should be done on this scale.
Kru Ning: i works with Kru Bua on the script making. We both played a role in chosing the actors and actresses who will be in the film despite the actors' busy schedule. The challenge is bringing out the potential of all actors.
Pond: having three directors i was often told that it would’ve been a problem, but i’ve been through it on KPTS already. The three directors worked because we all respect each other. I represent the newer generation, Nat represents the experienced director, Kru Ning also represents the knowledgeable person. The key to successful work is that the younger is respectful and the seniors are not egotistic.
Q: Why choose this time period (between Rama III and Rama IV) as the setting?
Nat: This is the period where foreign powers start coming into the kingdom and has a rich history.
Q: What do you expect from this film seeing the anticipation?
Nat: i didn't expect this much reception, but also i believe we’ve done our best to meet the expectations. Thai period film is something not everyone would choose to do, but we gave it all.
Kru Ning: i expect that this film will inspire the new generation of film makers to also create period films or pick up pieces of history as their work.
Mile, Apo, Tong and Bas introduce their characters
Mile: I play Chat as a person caring for others. He came to Man Saung because of something that happened in his life. He's the 'leather man' the person who works on leather for drum. Meet different kinds of people, the very good and very bad.
Apo: I play Khem. I believe that in any generation or anywhere there’s who wants to step up and grow in their work, like Khem. He is a peasant that wants to have a better life, so he wants to use the dance that he likes as a stepping stone. Something made him enter Man Suang. For me, with any kind of role, I will believe in the role and the character. What is difficult, is imagining the character within the constraints of the time period. What he can and cannot do in that time period/culture. And the dance was a challenge. I told myself that I can do it since the mental training merges with the physical training to practice and learn the dance.
Tong: I play 'Hong'. The challenge of the role is also imagining the character in the time period and what the character can or cannot express. Even though in Man Suang you can be anything, there's still things you cannot be or tabooed. But we are lucky to have a great team who helps us. The script was redone multiple times.
Bas: I play Wan, who is best buddies with Khem, like we go anywhere together. I'm also a peasant, so the character background is at the lowest social ladder. Even the smallest mistake means death.
Q: How does working on KPTS influenced your work on Man Suang?
Apo: Going to events overseas, in France, in events with A-listers is kinda a private event. So going to closed events, where people live as the elite as their normal life helps me understand how it's like being Man Suang. Imagine myself as a small person going into private world of elites.
Mile: Starting of with KPTS makes me feel this big fulfilling energy when seeing fans or people who just started watching KPTS. Such show opened me up to opportunities of intertwining social culture issues, and Man Suang is doing the same. KPTS is a BL in a small group, but Man Suang will open up to more people.
Q: Let’s talk about the production standard that Man Suang set.
Pond: It's something I'm really proud of where we have set hours, everyone on set is treated equally in things like catering. Sometimes it becomes over budget but everyone on set is treated equally. Equality is something that we can easily talk but difficult make happen, but they tried it on this set, and it works. I want to make it the standard.
Q: Let’s talk about the support from the Ministry of Culture. Pushing Thai soft power.
Pond: i want to start with thanking Srichand because they represent Thai culture as well. Thanks to Srichand for collaborating and supporting us. Man Suang has a distinct culture footprint and Thainess that the ministry should support. So proud to be selected and that tax payers' money are being used to support Thai people work and art.
Interview with Ohm Cocktail
Both Pond and Ohm know the 28 Orchestra Band and they reached out to Ohm saying Pond has a project. Ohm likes historical stuff and was excited about the work. After knowing the overall scope of the project, and seeing the anticipation it was quite challenging, he hoped the idea will come to him, until he got the original script. But the script doesn't have the plot so it's hard to understand the story. He couldn’t understand the emotions until he saw the teaser. The overall theme is about going into a location hiding your identity in order to find something, that is an intriguing plot and good substance for the song writing.

In the Footsteps of a Saint
FAITH TODAY:MAY 2011
Catholic actor Charlie Cox is making waves across the Atlantic – and he’s about to hit the cinemas in his native UK playing a saint in a new movie.
FAITH TODAY went to meet him.
How does it feel to be a saint? That’s something no-one alive can ever really know, since sainthood is only acknowledged after death: but up-and-coming actor Charlie Cox knows more about it than most. Cox, 28, is the star of There Be Dragons, a new movie about the early life of St Josemaria Escriva, the Spaniard who founded Opus Dei. So – given that he’s a Catholic himself - how did it feel to Cox to walk in a saint’s shoes, and to portray his holiness on screen?
What struck him most, says Cox, is that ‘there seemed to have been no single moment when Josemaria was saintly... instead, what people who knew him spoke about and wrote about was a lifetime of consistently good decisions and a dedication of his entire life to God’. So in fact, he explains, portraying him meant being very human – and yet aware that decisions often had to be made that weren’t directed at other people, but were directed at God. Playing Josemaria is the latest step on a path that’s fast feeling like the road to the big-time: Cox first appeared on the showbiz radar in 2007 when he got the role of Tristan Thorne in the movie Stardust, and he went on to play the Duke of Crowborough in the ITV drama Downton Abbey. And just a fortnight before we meet, he’s filmed his first episode of HBO’s prohibition drama Boardwalk Empire, the flagship programme of the new Sky Atlantic channel, in which he plays an immigrant from Northern Ireland with ties to the IRA. Cox says he’s loving the part: Steve Buscemi, who recently won a Gold Globe award for his portrayal of Enoch ‘Nucky’ Thompson in the series, is one of his all-time heroes, and he can hardly believe his luck in being cast with him.
’Working with Steve feels amazing, I can’t believe how lucky I’ve been,’ he says, as we chat over coffee at a Madrid hotel on the morning of the premiere of There Be Dragons. He jetted in this morning from New York – he’ll be there filming Boardwalk Empire through the summer and, he says, he can’t imagine a better way of spending the next few months. ‘They’re the nicest bunch of people – and everyone is so confident about how good the series is, so there’s a great buzz about it.’
Working on Boardwalk Empire has taken him a long way from his Sussex roots. He grew up in Hearst Green, the son of publisher parents – and he was raised a Catholic, like his father, although he was educated at a non-Catholic independent school, Sherborne School in Dorset. ‘Only about 70 out of 700 boys were Catholics. We had to get up early on a Sunday to go to Mass at a local girls’ school... it would have been easy to skive off it, but actually we never did. I’ve always loved churches – even now, in a strange city, I’ll often wander around looking at churches.’ There was no history of acting in the family – bar a grandmother who had been at RADA before the second world war – but even as a youngster, Cox was smitten with the idea. ‘My mum and dad had a fantastic attitude to it,’ he says. ‘The school wanted me to go to university, play it in safe mode, have a back-up plan. But my parents came to see me act, and afterwards my dad sat me down and he said: ‘I think you’d be a fool not to pursue this’. And I don’t know whether I’d be here now if it hadn’t been for that one comment...’ Despite living in the US at the moment, and the fact that his parents spend most of their time these days in France, Cox says Britain will always be home – and he’s very close to his family. He has a brother, and three half siblings from his father’s first marriage, and his parents have flown to see him in Madrid while he’s over for the premiere of There Be Dragons. After school, he spent a gap year working for a photographer – and even before he could take up a place at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, he’d landed the role of Theo in the movie Dot the i. ‘An agent took a punt on me and put me up for the part,’ he says. ‘I’ve been incredibly lucky, and that was just one of my lucky breaks.’
But it’s not just luck – Cox is immensely likeable, and he’s obviously genuinely passionate about acting. He’s also been smart enough to realise that he can learn a huge amount from more seasoned actors – so he saw acting alongside Robert de Niro and Michelle Pfeiffer in Stardust, for example, as a fantastic opportunity to soak up knowledge. And he’s learnt lots more, too, from Roland Joffe, director of There Be Dragons, who was also the film-maker behind The Mission (about the early Jesuits in south America) and The Killing Fields (about the murderous Pol Pot regime in Cambodia), both of which were Oscar nominees.
‘I didn’t think twice about taking the part of Josemaria, and that was down to Roland,’ he says. ‘He’s such a great director – he really understands the processes that actors have to go through to give their best. I learnt so much from working with him.’
Given the subject-matter of There Be Dragons, Cox also spent time in the run-up to filming learning about Opus Dei, which has the status of a ‘personal prelature’ within the Catholic Church. ‘I visited several Opus Dei houses, and I went on a retreat and had a lot of help from an Opus Dei priest, Fr John Wauck.’
Before he made the film, he admits, he’d never heard of Josemaria – and all he knew about Opus Dei was what he’d read in Dan Brown’s book The Da Vinci Code. But researching Josemaria, he says, what struck him most was the saint’s humanity – and his ability, examined in the film, to forgive. ‘It was an example I had to put into practice, because one day when we were filming I returned to my trailer to find someone had broken in and cleaned the place out completely,’ he says. ‘They’d even taken my computer, and the charger, and even my clothes.’ ‘The following day I was due to film one of the big scenes in which Josemaria shows how he can forgive, and I remember thinking: this is really interesting. And the thing is that I did manage to forgive the guy who nicked my stuff.’ ‘And what I realised, through that incident, was that – though we think of forgiveness as something very moral and impressive, it’s actually something that works totally in your own favour. Because if you don’t forgive then you’re angry inside – and that anger doesn’t hurt the other person, but it really hurts you.’ Since filming finished for There Be Dragons, Cox has been working on another movie – Moby Dick, due to be released later this year – and now Boardwalk Empire. It all suggests, I tell him, that fame – which he’s told previous interviewers frightens him – could be beckoning. ‘It’s tricky,’ he says, candidly. ‘I’ve got friends who have gone on to extraordinary fame, and what I’ve realised through them is that it’s never quite as appealing as it promised to be. ‘On the other hand, like everyone else I want recognition. I like people to think I’m good at what I do. That’s human nature, isn’t it?’

Hi Marte, this is just a rant because I don't plan on going anywhere as I'm addicted to twitter lol but what is going on with Nick's fanbase? I knew it was too good to be true when rwrb came out and everyone got on so well. There were some toxic ph fans but they were such a small minority that everyone ignored them. It was really nice with everyone getting on and everyone making memes and jokes. Now people are fighting every day and policing each other, especially bullying fans into watching tioy and speaking well on it. There was someone in the fandom who said they didn't like it and fans were harassing them. They're getting big heads after the rave reviews and they're even starting to turn on rwrb fans for not wanting to watch a really het movie. So many of them are teenagers too and that's unusual for a man almost 30, that most of his fans are teenagers. They are really really ageist to people in their 20s+ but karma will come around because they'll turn that age. Then they'll be on the receiving end. They've just become so toxic. There is also a small section of his fandom who are rwrb fans who claim to be a fan of him but they're clearly not. They keep up with him but they're going out of their way to twist things he says and they're trying to get him cancelled. I think they're more Tzp fans. But some Nick fans have been toxic to Tzp too. It's just really different to how it was some months ago. There isn't often a day without drama.
Hi, anon!
Rant away! I've seen it too. I think it's a couple of things. One, he's currently promoting a very, very het movie and it's attracting a lot of new het fans. Second, his fandom has grow rapidly, explosively over the past six months. He is everywhere and doing stuff like roundtables with other great actors. His team is pushing really, really hard and working overtime to make this his break-through. Remember he's 30, he isn't that young anymore. This is his shot. He seems very ambitious and willing to do almost anything and be anything to grow a fanbase and get those oscar worthy roles. It's hard to remember he only shot to fame eight or so months ago.
To me it seems like they want him to have an ambigious image, like Harry does. He's not as straight passing as H is, so maybe he'll get away with it without having queerbaiting accusations. But they're also pushing the het and teasing his fans to create engagement. It's working. It's fucking annoying that it's working. His fans shouldn't be that young and naive, when he himself is almost 30yo. He's lucky they are. But it's not fun for the rest of us who have to deal with a fandom going from being harmonious to being factured and fighting.
Anyways, bullying isn't cool, fan policing isn't cool, ageism isn't cool and people are allowed not to like something or not support something without beeing peer pressured or ostracized if they don't. His fans need to grow up.
#teenagers are saying 20+ year olds aren’t allowed to be a fan of an almost 30 year old?#lmao#nick galitzine#his fandom is going to crash and burn if he can't get a handle on the toxic environment#not 1d

Mc Hcs pt 5 sad edition
Mc when they were 12 years old were sent to a psychiatric hospital for half year due to the emergence of a second personality they said was called Dahlia(Mc as kid has been described as clumsy, honest, happy go lucky , loyal etc but Dahlia in the hospitals psych evaluation was said to be the embodiment of evil and beauty.they would eventually also know them as the noble flower of evil because when ever their around they can cause the worst in somebody to bloom and reveal the worst version of themselves )
Mc due to their fame as a 'small' time actor had their fair share of stalkers and one time nearly gkt kidnapped so they begged their dad Donald to let them practice martial arts which after the recent incident they did. Sometime later they were gettung stalked by a fanatic classmate who had been really creepy and one day took it too far with nc who lashed out and beat them within an inch if their lives, they were sent ti hospital dor two months and even thiygh they were left off the hook due to ir being self defense. They felt horrible afterwards because they beat a guy nearly to death without ever trying to get him to stop or to change and simply chose violence as their first option so after that they swore that unless there was no literally no other way they wouldn't use violence to end conflict.
Filowing the pevious HC. Mc stopped acting after that incident as to stop attracting stalkers and prevent anotger situation like that.
Mc when they were younger they struggled to fit in with people. This was because in their own words was that they always felt as if that place wasn't their real home.(even when they were un their own house they sometimes felt homesick)
Mc also used to get sick a lot when they were younger and it was said by doctors that it was odd since on their arm They did have a vaccine shot scar but they still got sick almost as if the vaccune they took was for some foreign illness.
Bonus headcanons(happy edition)
Mc and Peter always did stargazing together and when it was Mc birthday he woulf often joke about whisking them away to land where kids never grew up so he could always babysit Mc in future
Mc has on more than one occasions played the role of nobility in a play or movie they often took etiquette classes meant for nobility and due to this has some friends who are nobles.
Mc at the end of everyweek gives Lilia all the photos they took so Lilia can cherish the memorues he had at Nrc
Mc has been noted to be a treasure magnet and often finds hidden valuablss on the schook camous which they usually give to Sam.
Mc during the Port fest worked at a cafe called Dukes cafe to raise money so they could get their friends souvenirs and gifts
Mc when their not busy during clubs time often sings solos of songs from their old world(did Mc one time sing the Macarena yes do they regret the fact all of scarabia had to do a macarena dance practice for 3 hours no)
I hope you liked these new batch of Hcs as always feel free to ask questions regarding bg the Hcs and Cherry i also hope you got my Hcs home edition or if Tumblr ate my ask if they did i dont mind sending it again
Goodbye and have great day
Sorry for taking so long to reply! I got tangled in a lot of irl things and it took me some time to come back here again but once again, thanks for your additions for the MC hcs~ [these in special are continuations of the multiple MC's hcs from last time]
seems that we have sad and happy hcs this time! the thing with more angst/dramatic hcs is that I'm not so good at commenting on them as the few times I think about it so, unfortunately, I won't have much to add on the first part...
as for the more happier hcs tho~
so, interesting, MC is more of a Wendy (or one Lost Child) in this one. Another thing that I love about it, not only for my love for the Peter Pan story, is that I actually made an twst!Peter oc that is a teacher at RSA and these specific hcs always reminds me of him. I won't be able to show him yet since... well, my posting schedule is the amalgamation of chaos (especially with ocs). And the stargazing part is really beautiful
MC always has the connections since ever lol reminds me of that Barbie song "To Be a Princess" (from the og Princess & the Pauper)
aaaawwww~ I never stopped to think about how faes like Lilia or even Malleus feels about photos, in the same sense we view them. but it's an heartwarming (and lowkey sad for ch6 watchers) hc <3
MC works so hard at all times. now imagine after the event ends, MC kinda does the same thing as Jack (like he wanted to treat Ruggie to eat the special dish from this one restaurant he worked on) and they invite their friends to eat there too. and their boss is like "take a day rest and enjoy it with your friends" too~
THE MACARENA KILLED ME LMAO Kalim probably had the time of his life, he didn't feel any of the 3 hours. idk about Jamil bc he likes to dance (tho he has his issues with doing in front of other bc of the whole "not go into the spotlight", still he's getting more out there since ch4...) but maybe the same song after a lot of time might be a bit annoying for him? I'm not so sure for his part
and we ended this batch! I'm sorry again for not commenting much on the angst hcs, like it's just not something I'm familiar or comfortable enough to talk about, but your ideas are always interesting and creative, believe me!
thanks again <3

Lucky Hand (Villainous Oc)
Name: Felice Chance
Ethnicity: Caucasian
DOB: March 17
Headcannon Voice Actor: Analiz Sánchez (Spanish); Jules Medcraft (English)
Sexuality: Straight
Occupation: Casino Worker; Supervillain; Henchwoman; Superheroine In Training (formerly)
Residence: Marin City ; Cointowne City (formerly)
Relatives: Big Win/ Boone Chance (father); Eudora Chance (mother-deceased)
Abilities: Her right hand can cause good luck while her left hand can cause bad luck
Love Interest: King Cassino
Age: Same Age As G-Lo And Green Rod
Personality: She is very loyal and in love with King Cassino. She holds contempt towards her father for his abuse and PEACE for keeping his image clean. She wants to prove she has the making to be a villain and tries to show it. She still has a personal code against going against children and is very sensitive to those who went through domestic abuse. She gets mad when people praises her father for being such a great hero while she knows the truth. She is also pretty confident in her skills as a gamer and loves showing them off. She can be very whimsical and friendly towards those even if she has to fight with them. She still has the compassion of a hero, but also has to at times spare it since she's now dealing in the supervillain scene but can reserve for those she feels deserve it. She still is somewhat naive to the villain scene but gradually grows accustomed to it as King Cassino gradually guides her into it.
Background: She was born in Cointowne City to the daughter of the town hero, Big Luck. Her father was respected and loved in the town, but behind doors he was an abusive asshole to his wife and child. Her father soon pressured her into living up to his expectations which caused her all kinds of stress until she snapped and decided to go to the Black Hat Institute where she enrolled and graduated. She went to Marin City where she met King Cassino and became one of his underlies and gradually becomes one of his favorite squeezes.
* Her father's image was protected so people do not know he's a domestic abuser and PEACE would cover for him if she spoke up against him.
* Her father was a cheater and often got away with it because no one could know for sure it was his powers. Also PEACE covered for him.
* She was once in the PEACE hero academy.
* Her father has the same powers as herself and she inherited it from him.
* Her father is still working as a hero.
* She often calls King Cassino "Daddy Cass".
* She will later bear a son by King Cassino.
* She sometimes wears the sexy casino outfit.
* King Cassino calls her the nickname "Baby Luck".
* Cointowne City is known as a resort city with tons of casinos, hotels, and other resorts.
* She uses her unlucky powers to sabotage rivals of her boss/lover.
* She is considered a rookie level villain.
* She also encountered many other sidekicks like G-Lo and Green Rod through superhero sidekick program but they weren't super close but people knew who her father was.
* Her mom died as she graduated high school of a drug overdose due to trying to handle the abuse by her husband.
* Her father often times used his powers to abuse his family.
* She's left handed.
* She has a mask she sometimes uses when she's on mission.
* She learned her gaming skills from her father.
* She never uses her powers to win games because she wants to win on her own skills.
* Even before she left her dad, she often took tiny acts of rebellion against him under his nose.
* Her father actually has been to King Cassino's place before and won big there.

I don’t think JE is particularly a great actor either. And that opinion only came after Euphoria season 2, I thought he was great in season 1. After seeing his other work and then his performance in season 2 I personally don’t think he’s anything special. But I don’t agree that he’s where he’s at bc of height. Hollywood often caters to shorter men. I think he just got lucky and has made good connections. No different than any other actor his age.
Yea, actually imo JE's height might be a little TOO tall in the industry 👀 (yes, there is such a thing lol 😆).
Most male actors are actually not that tall.... like 5'9, 5'10 typically (which is around avg height for men anyway).
JE is about 6'6, so yea, that's a bit huge, imo lol 😆

Hellooo! I know this may be a sensitive question due to the nature of the Marauder's Fandom but I'm curious if you have any thoughts about why Wolfstar is so popular? I know many ships are popular but I kind of feel that Wolfstar is disproportinately so if you know what I mean? If you go to Ao3 and filter out sirius/remus the stories are halved :( which makes me sad bc I don't like Wolfstar but there ought to be good stories there. Even when I filter Wolfstar, it still sneaks in!!
hahaha r/s discourse my beloved <3 (lol i’m mostly kidding. i’ve been lucky to fall under the radar so far, not to jinx it, but ik it doesn’t take long to attract the wrong kind of crowd with such controversial topics 💀)
and like, yeah, totally agree that i think r/s is extremely disproportionately popular. i can think of a few reasons-
- premier gay ship at a time when there was none. it’s a super, super old ship and the kind of proximity and history implied in marauder friendships, particularly the actual interactions between r/s is v tempting. also, wasn’t there something about how the actors were told to act like they were in a relationships or sumn in the movies? idk i never rly saw it but that could’ve definitely effected it.
- it’s a convenient pairing. james & lily, remus & sirius, no one cares about peter. nicely tied up with a bow, yeah?
- stereotypical surface level portrayals of remus as the nerdy, wet towel bookworm and sirius as the hot, rebellious bad boy is a classic trope for a reason. (altho i’m sure this is a vicious cycle on its own—both the portrayal and popularity reinforce each other) there’s also something about like, remus and his hidden darkness contrasting sirius’ very visible darkness yeah? oh also! i often think it’s a bit of a self insert thing too? sirius is so clearly too good for him, he’s super competent and attractive and rich and just has. a lot going for him, yeah? and most people can’t put themselves in his shoes. you know who else is relatable though? meek lil remus lupin. and for him to get the absolute catch that everyone wants? well. isn’t that the perfect scenario? (and like, to be fair, not bashing this. at all. i’m all for self inserts, i love it. i think it’s one of the best uses of fiction one can partake in)
- it’s angst fodder, especially the older interpretations. not just the canon timeline, but right back to the prank—you have a lot to work with. it’s also great for AUs, like u can play around a lot ykno?
anyway, yeah. few reasons why i think it’s popular. pretty sure a lot of it is also just,,,nostalgia and momentum? as well as remus being the only reasonable option for sirius and vice verda bc of the lack of other eligible characters without making things horribly AU. of course, i’m horribly biased bc i don’t think it’s a good pairing at all, atleast not in most of its iteration i’ve seen, and of course, i’ll always, always consider james/sirius to be superior. (i don’t think i’ll ever not be mad that it’s not the premier m/m ship, actually, considering all the material we get for two characters who’ve never been together in real time but oh well)
#the self insert thing—someone else mentioned it to me once and i can’t stop thinking about it now#because it just makes so much fkn sense#obv all the reasons i mentioned—take them w a pinch of salt#i’m not saying there’s some grand r/s conspiracy out there or anything#but this is what i’ve noticed#even if me being me—i made it sound negative/snarky lol#i promise most of it isn’t intended that way#people like what they do—just bc i’m bitter and sad and jealous about it. well. tough for me#but dude. the way it’s like mold—i don’t think i’ll ever get over that. it’s so fkn annoying#filters are not even close to enough#and so many good storyline’s have it too#rly gotta pick and choose what ur willing to put up w#pen’s asks

I miss friendships like Adam and Aaron because they felt like actual friends, though I think the show kind of got lucky because of Adam and Danny’s close friendship, and also Danny seems to have the best on-screen chemistry (platonic or romantic) with actors he is close or friends with in real life (I’ve noticed it with Robron too). We don’t really see that with some of the younger characters as much and imo it comes down to writing mainly, but also acting with some of the characters.
They definitely lucked out with Danny and Adam, though they became friends after they met each other on set. So I guess that could happen for the other kids too. It did with Izzy and Rosie because they came in around the same time so early Gabby and Liv friendship scenes did feel really natural.
In general the teen groups these days are just not as well developed as they were in the past. I mean I think part of the reason the teens don't land as well for me is probably because I'm getting older and more disconnected from that age but I feel like the writers probably are too. I feel like a lot of the writers have been there forever so the average age is probably older now. I think they really struggle with writing modern teens, especially when it gets into the social media area. All of the cyber bullying type stories or anything where all they do is stare at their phones doesn't really work when we're not seeing it. I feel like when April had her whole story we maybe saw one or two posts rather than getting to see things pop up on screen around her like they do in a lot of teen shows these days (or any shows).
Another thing that today's teens really suffer from is a lack of screen time, even when they have bigger stories. For example, in Aaron's first full year, he was in 144 episodes and that wasn't even his coming out story. That started a little towards the end of the year but the bulk of that was in 2010, when he was in 153 episodes. Contrast that to Arthur who was in 26 episodes last year and 28 so far this year and Marshall who has had a more dramatic coming out story with angst but he’s only been in 26 episodes. Cathy who has had a supposedly big story this year that technically was starting at the end of last year has only been in 30 and 27 episodes respectively. And those are the characters with actual story. Even Samson who technically had a big story too was only in 49 episodes last year and only 19 so far this year.
Most of these kids still feel like blank slates because we just don’t see them often enough, not now and not when they were kids either. I mean Robert and Andy were in 57/58 episodes in 1998 when they were 11/12 years old. That’s more episodes than the teens with stories now. Because we just don’t see families together anymore. We don’t see everyday life anymore. The kids just disappear. I mean Angel and Elliot for example haven’t been in more than 6 episodes a year since 2019. Yet Angelica is supposed to be maybe killed in a car crash next week?! I mean care slightly cause I care about Nicola and Jimmy and Angel once had a cute interaction with Robert but otherwise she’s just some random kid we’ve never seen. There's no time for them to be developed as characters with an actual sense of identity or a consistent dynamic with their family and peers. For example, they were building the Robert/Andy dynamic over the course of many years and it remained consistent and layered upon each new thing. These days something will happen like Arthur bullying Archie and then it'll just be dropped entirely and forgotten about (I know that was partially due to Covid but also it was never once mentioned again)
And then there’s the fact that most of this current crop of teens were cast as young children, aside from Marshall. I mean April is still pretty good but she also gets slightly more screen time so she’s slightly more developed as a character and actress. But the rest of these kids…I mean Amelia was great as a precocious child but struggles carrying a bigger dramatic story. Arthur was fine as a little kid saying the odd line or two but his line readings are bit more awkward now. I do think he would have been helped if they’d really tried to get a quality teen actor to play Marshall but Max Fletcher doesn’t really cut it. So it’s just awkward playing against awkward. I mean you’d think the twins who are twins in real life would have more on screen sibling chemistry but…not really. Of course Heath also barely exists as a character so it’s not like they have much to work with.
The other thing I feel like hurts them is that I feel like the previous teen groups were a lot more independent. I do think that could still happen with the Arthur/Marshall/April/Cathy/Heath/Sometimes Elliot group because they're still a bit younger and the Amelia/Samson/Noah group is a bit more independent because they're older. But I feel like Aaron/Adam/Vic/Holly/Daz/Scarlett etc were just running around on their own a lot, in part because their family situations weren't always the best. I mean Vic was being looked after by Andy a lot of the time and Aaron obviously had all his Chas issues and then just had Paddy who was more friend than parent a lot of the time. Adam/Holly/Hannah had a more stable home life but Adam had already left school and was working on the farm. Holly had her art classes at college. Vic and Amy worked at the B&B. Aaron worked at the garage. I feel like we just saw them on their own a lot more doing more grown up things or more independent things without having parents constantly tracking them down and fussing over them. Of course it's important for them to have family dynamics too but it's also important for them to build relationships with each other independently and I feel like that's lacking a bit, also due to the extreme lack of screen time.
So yeah, lack of screen time, lack of every day life to develop the family units and sibling dynamics, actors who were cast very young with no idea if they'd be able to carry bigger stories now and reluctance to recast, writers that feel out of touch with today's teens and then you know the general terribleness of the overall direction of the show right now. It's sad because with so many kids who have grown up in the village entering their teens right now, there could be a lot of good content for them but they really don't do enough with them.

Hi! Sorry in advance for my bad English! I wanted to get your opinion. Why do you think Harrison does so little in movies/series? Is he too picky about his roles or is there too much competition? Don't get me wrong. I understand that it's not easy being an actor and especially getting a part, but over the years hasn't he had an offer even for a minor role!!!? Sometimes I think he wants to do major roles and big projects, but not everyone is so lucky and by turning down small roles he misses his chance. I've been following him since 2017 and am really worried about his career. Only 2 series in 6 years (I'm not counting short films and 1 minute cameos in Tom's movies). Catch 22 is a good show, but Harrison is 10 minutes long. And the series "the regulars" was a flop, although I liked it. It's not a masterpiece, but it's not too bad either. I think there were big bets on this series, especially Harrison's, but in the end it was unlucky. And this year we have another series in which Harrison will have a small role. I just want the best for him! And a second question. I'm almost 99% sure that Harrison is auditioning for the role of Johnny Storm. He has said himself that he would like to play him and more than once. But what are the chances of him getting the role? He has very little acting experience and I'm afraid that's not in his favor. He has a great friendship and chemistry with Tom Holland and I think they would show it perfectly through Peter and Johnny if they ever crossed paths in the movies. And I know that Harrison and Tom stopped interacting on social media so that Harrison could develop as an independent person and actor. And that's the right thing to do. Because there will be those who will say that he gets roles because of his friendship with Tom. It doesn't work that way, though. And I'm glad he took that route. And I really wish him luck and lots of good roles!
Your English is wonderful!
He said that The Irregulars put him into a new bracket of acting jobs in the last interview he did, and he's mentioned auditioning somewhat recently, too.
He's also gone to some acting workshops that posted photos of their participants on Instagram, as recently as this past week, so he's obviously still interested in acting and working on honing his craft.
However, at the moment, he seems to be heavily involved in promoting the rum brand he cofounded, HAMA. There have been events, and he's made at least one appearance at an unrelated event where he was photographed with a bottle. He also took photos while he was in New York City of him holding a bottle in a variety of locations.
I wonder if he was in the US for audition(s) then. I don't know how that works these days. The role he took in the anthology series that's coming out later this year had a completely virtual audition process. He mentioned his height being brought up by someone who met him in person for the first time and thought he'd be taller.
I'm more heavily leaning toward him being picky about what roles he auditions for and being involved with multiple ventures.
If he has auditioned or is auditioning for Johnny Storm, I'm sending him all the good vibes. He does have a lead role in a Netflix series under his belt, which isn't a small role like his role in Catch-22 was, so hopefully that will help get him in the door.
It would be really cool to see him on the big screen with Tom! I don't really go to see movies in theaters very often, and I would definitely go see that.
But I very much hope he finds happiness in whatever he ends up doing -- whether that be acting, being an entrepreneur, or something else entirely.

💫💫💫 please please! (i'd love a fun fact about ayato, i actually don't know a whole lot about him yet!)
AGH!!!! my beloved, my #1 !! i will 100% talk abt him and give u all the deets (maybe not all of them . but ill give u deets)
ill put it under cut bc this is LONG!! and will be a lotta observation and speculation bc we dont get a lot of ayato other than from festival events 🥹 hoyoverse whyd u give us such an interesting man n not have him show up more!!!! now ppl think hes boring!!!!! >:( its ok lol more for me
but Anyway!! one of the most notable things youll learn about ayato is his views on loyalty: he is ALL about loyalty. not just for others’ loyalty towards him, but his loyalty towards others as well. this man has nothing but pure dedication towards the clan n the commission, willing to do Anything for the benefit of his clan and those he deems worthy of his loyalty. u see this when u find out he had a hand in helping kazuha escape, and that he smuggled the watatsumi army into tenshukaku for his sister
he is also a Very observant and cunning man- his plans in irodori fes were to unveil to kazuha and ayaka the truth about the raiden gokaden (he knew what happened when scara was in the warehouse to scour thru kaedehara belongings), and from this current event [SPOILER ALERT!!!] he knew about the yokai who set up akitsu yuugei and held the test of courage to help them get people to play it (which is so sweet!! honestly!!). its like he has eyes all over inazuma- which, with the shuumatsuban, he probably does
which is why i Constantly think about how terrifying it would be if he was your enemy
he may be all polite and sweet to save face- he is a man high up in the hierarchy, after all- but official works have told us time and time again that he is NOT afraid to use underhanded techniques to get his way, or to do what he feels is right, and there is a Lot more to him than he shows. it’s honestly great that he seems to be a “good guy” morally and that we’re friends with him- if he were an enemy i think we’d have a very different view on him
(ngl? controversial opinion. he has the same voice actors as otto from honkai for a reason- there r similarities here ok. HGKRBFKRJFJ i hate otto tho 😔)
a man who, after losing his parents, rose to bring his clan up from the absolute brink of collapse and made it not only in a stable position- but in the tri-commission is 100% not to be messed with. he is smart, tactful and cunning, and he always has something up his sleeve to turn the tables in his favour.
‘"What exactly is he up to?" is usually what people are thinking after all is said and done.
However, now that everyone has a piece of that pie, perhaps what is on Kamisato Ayato's mind isn't so important.’
this Always rings in my head whenever i think deeper into ayatos character. it was what first intrigued me to him honestly- i fell in love with him after seeing his burst (ik.. not immune to pretty man.. lol) but i already thought he was interesting from his official introduction. n god he rly is!!!! and i wanna see more of it!!!! both in irodori and this festival i was always 🤯 whenever i find out the true motive behind ayato’s plans. he’s so SMART and SNEAKY!!!!
ik its easy to think of ayato as a handsome, loyal, cheeky but sweet family man bc that’s how he’s written as ingame- the writers r usually in favour with most charas’ good sides than more nuanced writing (they changed this up heavily w/ scara, which i Really appreciate) so it’s no surprise that ayato was written like this as well (that and the heavy npc focus in his sq- i liked it but i get why others didnt LOL)
but! lets not forget how constantly we’re reminded of how crafty and mischievous he can be :squint: and lets not forget how lucky we are to be on his good side LMAO
oh god ok this was SUUUUPER long. i think im done. i just love him. if he showed up more this wld be even longer. maybe i shld thank hyv he doesnt show up that often cries

How Tom Hanks’ Tragic Childhood Changed Him – Forever
Rhea KumarOctober 18, 2022
Tom Hanks is one of the world’s most successful leading actors and has led a prolific career in Hollywood as a screenwriter, producer and director. He is one of the few actors to win back-to-back Oscars for acting, one for his role in 1993’s Philadelphia, and in 1994 for his role in Forrest Gump. Yet, his career has no end in sight.
RELATED: Tom Hanks: Cultivate Your Faith, Not Your Fear
This summer he lit up the screen in Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis biopic as Colonel Tom Parker, and in Disney’s live-action Pinocchioremake as Gepetto.
But, his path to stardom is anything but conventional, and Tom had to learn early on in life that optimism is the greatest tool to have in dark times.
Tom Hanks Is Hollywood’s Nice Guy
Hanks is consistently crowned as one of Hollywood’s nice guys, because of his down-to-earth and genial personality. We can all remember back in 2015 when Tom Hanks found a Fordham student’s ID in Central Park and sent out a mass tweet to find its owner. Talk about the definition of a good Samaritan.
RELATED: How to Break the Cycle of a Traumatic Childhood and Save Your Family
Then there was the time Hanks was filming Angels and Demons in Italy and witnessed a wedding procession. The bride was having difficulty getting through the crowd because the movie was being shot near the wedding chapel, so, ever the hero, Hanks stopped filming and decided to escort the bride so she could get married. Now that’s a superhero move.
Despite his great personality and overall happy-go-lucky demeanour, Tom’s life was anything but perfect, and the actor has been candid about the trials and tribulations he faced during his childhood.
A Nomadic Childhood
This video cannot be played because of a technical error.(Error Code: 102006)
Hanks’ good spirit is most likely a result of his childhood, where he had to make the most of his unfortunate situation. Hanks was born the third out of four children and his parents divorced in 1961 when he was just five years old. His baby brother lived with his mom, but Hanks and the rest of his siblings lived with his dad. Hanks says that his dad moved so often that by the time he was 10, he had lived in 10 different homes.
In 2017, Hanks released a book of short stories called Uncommon and in the collection, he detailed the less than ideal conditions that he and his siblings endured.

His father Amos worked late nights as a cook and wouldn’t return home until 11pm. Meanwhile, Hanks and his siblings would dwell in their dirty apartment. “If you scraped the amount of burnt tomato soup off the stove, it would have been like an archeological dig!” he recalls.
The Hollywood star says that despite his siblings saying that their childhood wasn’t that fun and that they were miserable, “In some ways it was very cool, because we laughed a lot.”
Loneliness and Falling Through the Cracks
Tom Hanks in 1994’s Forrest Gump
But despite the fun and nomadic life that he lived, Hanks harbored feelings of loneliness and abandonment. In an interview with Graham Bensinger, he detailed his loneliness, saying, “Maybe there was a degree of loneliness because really no one — I kind of like fell through the cracks and didn’t really have adults per se that were taking care of me.”
RELATED: Denzel Washington’s Broken Childhood Taught Him Not To Make The Same Mistakes Again
The Splash actor often asked himself, ‘How do I find the vocabulary for what’s rattling around in my head?’, and when asked by BBC Radio 4’s Kirby Young what those feeling rattling in his head were, Hanks replied, “It was the vocabulary of loneliness.”
How Tom Hanks Developed Lifetime Optimism
Tom Hanks doesn’t think that he inherited his optimistic and cheerful worldview from his parents. Instead, he says that he had to develop those skills on his own. In an interview in 2017, he said, “The few times I’ve been afraid of a new environment, I got over it. And once you learn that it might be bad for a while, then you’re OK.”
He also says that for one to be an optimist doesn’t mean that they’re naive, or that they aren’t aware of the harsh realities of the world- after all, he’s experienced his fair share of that. He says, “That’s just not the case. I weigh everything. But I can’t help it that I wake up in the morning and think: what good thing is going to come around?
RELATED: How To Rebuild Your Self-Esteem If You’re Dealing With Childhood Trauma
And with this optimism, Hanks transformed his life. By the time he reached high school, he realized that acting could be a serious career path and performing allowed him to get out of the house. “I had more fun than I could possibly imagine,” he said in an interview.
Because of his loneliness experience in childhood, Tom Hanks was determined to start a family as soon as he could. At the age of 21, he and ex-wife Samantha Lewes wed, and soon enough he had a son and daughter. While times were tough as the young actor tried to make it in the business while parenting two young children, Hanks says that settling down early was a good thing.
He said, “Having a kid at 21 was the greatest thing that ever happened to me because I didn’t smoke pot…I didn’t go into drugs, I was not a party boy, I didn’t drink too much.”
The Making of a Hollywood Legend
Hanks’ dedication to his career and his family life paid off when he landed what many believe to be his big break in 1984’s mermaid rom-com, Splash. Afterward, producers were practically knocking at his door with comedy roles, and he even landed an Oscar nomination for his role in the 1988 hit Big.
RELATED: How Katy Perry’s Strange Childhood Shaped Her Approach To Motherhood
But in the 1990s, Hanks was tired of playing goofy characters and decided that he wanted to try more dramatic roles. And this career shift, though risky, ended up paying off as the actor is only the second male lead to ever win two consecutive Oscars.
Since then, Tom Hanks has acted in close to 100 movies, and his overall box office gross is around eight billion dollars- it’s safe to say that he made the right career movie.
How Does Tom Hanks Deal With Hard Times?
Tom has admitted to seeking therapy during tough times, like in 1987 when he divorced his first wife, Samantha Lewes. But today, Tom has developed a set of coping techniques like Transcendental Meditation, to create a balanced and healthier life with Rita Wilson, his wife of over 25 years.
RELATED: Dave Bautista: From Violent Childhood to Hollywood Superstar
You could easily take one look at Tom Hanks and say, “this guy must have it so easy.” But, his path to stardom was certainly not easy, and it took a lot of perseverance for Tom Hanks to acquire positivity and optimism despite his bleak childhood.

💬 News 1: Highlights from Hanbok Interview
She is an emerging talent to watch. Park Gyuyoung (25) made a name for herself as the web designer 'Somi' at Seowon Architectural Firm in JTBC's Monday-Tuesday drama 'Just Between Lovers'. Perhaps because of the role, any premature speculation that she might be a 'snob' changes with just one bright smile. She is an actor with a positive and bright energy that 'disarms' viewers and a 'unique' charm.
Park Gyuyoung left her hometown Busan and started living in Seoul when she entered the Department of Clothing and Textiles at Yonsei University in 2013. A college magazine (University Tomorrow) cover photoshoot she did by chance during her university days led to her current agency, JYP Entertainment, where she spent time as a trainee and debuted in 2017.
Although 'Just Between Lovers' is her first long drama, she has shown growing performances by appearing in the 2017 KBS drama special 'Kang DeokSoon's Love History, JTBC's 'Solomon's Perjury', and the web drama 'Magic School'. This year, she is also gaining attention as an emerging talent on the screen with two movies, 'Monsters' and 'Wrestler', set to be released.
Q. Are you going to Busan to see your parents for the Lunar New Year this year? It must feel like a triumphant return.
“I am going to Busan. It’s not exactly a triumphant return, but my family is still amazed (that I’ve become an actress), so they will probably ask me a lot of questions. I’m already feeling shy about it.”
Q. You had a busy year in 2017 with dramas and movies. Wasn't it tough?
“I tried not to think of it as being tough or busy. I just thought I had to work even harder. Then, looking back, I realized I was in a lot of productions in 2017. Still, I feel like I’ve accomplished something.”
Q. Being an alumna of a foreign language high school (Busan Foreign Language High School) and a prestigious university (Yonsei University) often makes headlines with descriptors like "Mum’s Friend’s Daughter." How do you feel about such labels?
“It’s totally, extremely embarrassing. I wasn’t exceptionally good at studying; I was just lucky with exams. So, it’s really embarrassing when I receive such compliments. At school, I was just a normal student who enjoyed hanging out with friends.”
Q. How did you start acting, which is unrelated to your major?
“I had a photoshoot for 'University Tomorrow' magazine. The company (JYP Entertainment) contacted me after seeing it. At first, I was half curious, but as I started to learn acting more seriously, I became more earnest about it. Once I actually went to the field, it was fun, but I realized there was so much to study and contemplate. There were difficult times, too. Studying acting made me think a lot.”
Q. There must have been a lot of other things to worry about besides acting.
“Thinking about always having to manage myself? I was a bit on the chubby side, so I worked out hard. I’m still doing Pilates now.”
Q. How will 'Just Between Lovers' be remembered?
“It’s my first long-duration drama, almost like it was from the beginning to the end. The set was so warm, which was great. The character Somi might have seemed annoying at times, but I'm glad I could show her lively side, leaving me with good memories.”
Q. It seems like Junho from 2PM, a senior at your agency, would have been a big support during 'Just Between Lovers'.
"When I became a JYP trainee I got the chance to see 2PM (*she may be referring to a concert) and it was truly fascinating. I used to gaze at 2PM thinking, 'Wow, celebrities,' and it was so surreal to act alongside Junho, a member of 2PM. He was really kind on set, and I was thankful for that. He treated me comfortably as if we had known each other for years."
Q. What did you learn from 'Just Between Lovers'?
"I learned a lot about the technical aspects of acting, but what remains in my memory is thinking about what kind of senior I want to become. There were many seniors in this work, so I was very nervous, but they treated me very comfortably. I was very grateful for that, and it made me want to be such a senior as well."
Q. Do you have a role model?
"I'm diligently watching 'Misty'. The charisma of senior Kim Namjoo is tremendous. I'm learning a lot. Also, senior Go Hyunjung in 'Return' is cool. I like that she has her own colour and her presence is amazing. It's fascinating and attractive how she shows different charms in each work."
Q. Is there a genre you're interested in?
"I'm very interested in action. I'm curious about how to prepare for action scenes, like practising movements and studying complex staging. I think it would feel rewarding and joyful to actually do it."
Q. What is actress Park Gyuyoung's weapon?
"I've played a lot of characters with a bright personality so far. However, I'm also sensitive and delicate. I can do well in roles that require a calm acting tone. (Laughs)"
Q. What are your plans for 2018?
"Rather than having specific things I want to do, in 2017, I was just starting to make my presence known from a state of obscurity. This year, I hope to appear in even more works than before."

[FAQ/ Info about this Blog]
I have set up a few rules for myself to follow while writing for this blog, if you wanna know about them feel free to go ahead and read them. If not that’s totally fine :)
#1 I will post in chronological order of first showing/release of each film/show.
#2 For now I’ll write only about movies/shows that have Michael Sheen acting in it.
#3 For now I’ll write only about movies/shows that have Michael acting on screen. (See faq below)
#4 I don’t have a set guideline of how I write and what points I write about. I just write whatever comes to mind.
FAQ
Who are you?
I’m Cosmo, just a silly little guy online. He/Him. In my mid twenties. My main blog is cosmo-64.
Why did you start this blog?
Short answer: Because Michael Sheen
Long answer: After watching Good Omens 2 I was curious about Sheen’s past work and started watching a couple of films he’s been in. I had a lot of thoughts about them and so I did what a normal person would do and shared those thoughts on the internet. (That was supposed to be a joke but it’s actually true nowadays wtf) Anyway, here we are now.
My actual secret goal/side quest is to eventually have the biggest Michael Sheen gif library in the whole world
Do you have any experience in writing about media?
Absolutely not. I’m sorry if my rambling is a bit confusing sometimes, it’s often literally just my first thoughts about something. But I do take the time to think about what I actually want to say about the shows/films. Sometimes it’s just gonna be a rant tho.
Do you even know anything about movies and acting?
Not even the slightest. I do like to watch interviews with actors and bts stuff and have seen some great plays. But that’s pretty much it. See this blog as a viewer and fan commentary. I think that’s a valid view. I will be biased probably, but if I don’t enjoy something I will say it. I don’t claim to know anything about anything tho
Your blog name is Everything by Michael Sheen, so wdym you’ll write only about movies/shows that have Michael acting on screen?
Exactly that. For now. I do plan on incorporating his voice acting and other audio performances eventually, but they are sort of different from on screen acting so I’ll have to figure out how to tackle those first. Also if I did incorporate absolutely everything all at once I fear I’d completely loose track and loose motivation, because it’s like…a lot of stuff. Movies and shows are easier to get into and write about imo. Maybe I’ll do like a special every once in a while. I know that will break up the whole chronological thing of it all, but you gotta break the rules occasionally, am I right?
Wdym only movies/shows that have Michael Sheen acting in it?
No documentaries, no quiz shows and stuff like that. I’m aware that There’s something about movies somehow fits in both the “quiz shows“ and the “have Michael acting in it“ categories, but I’m not sure if that counts…I will decide what to do with this one separately.
If you like Good Omens, why only Michael Sheen and not Davis Tennant aswell?
I loooove, love, love David Tennant‘s work. I have since I was a little Whovian. Buuuut my Tennant phase was back then. I did watch a lot of his stuff and I might’ve had enough enthusiasm to do something like this, but I was still a kid so I didn’t have even nearly enough patience for it. Now it’s Michaels turn and we’re lucky enough to have me have the patience to sit down and write several pages about a BBC tv drama series that hardly anyone remembers today and nobody I know irl has ever even heard about. (Example)
You ranted a lot about (insert post here) don’t you like it?
I probably did! I have only one rule that has to be true for me to like a movie. I have to have fun watching it. For whatever reason, that doesn’t matter. A story can be bad and I still have fun. I am frustrated with the fate of a character and I still have fun. Two things can be true at once. But If I had fun watching the movie, it does what it’s supposed to and that’s incredible! Nothing is perfect and that is absolutely fine aswell. I still have so much respect for everyone who is involved in realizing such a project and even if my words might sound harsh occasionally nothing will change that. Anyway tbh if a film or show has Michael Sheen attached it will probably be very difficult for me to not have fun even just a little bit. Call me a fanboy but currently that’s just how it is.
How often do you post a new entry?
As often as I can? As I’m writing this I have enough stuff to post weekly, but I know I won’t be able to keep that going for long. In the future it will depend on what it is and how much I obsess over it. If Michael has a major role and/or I’m obsessed over it, it might take some time. If not it might be out quicker.
Do you watch everything in chronological order?
No. I would’ve loved to, but that was doomed from the start. I’m waaay too curious to keep that up. I’ll try to set up some sort of list so if anyone is interested they can check what I’ve seen already.
How do you handle TV shows?
If Michael is in only one episode, I’ll watch only that episode and give you context as to what that show is about. If he’s in more than one episode I’ll try to watch at least enough understand the context of his character. If I like it enough I may watch all of it but write only about the part that’s relevant to this blog. For shows that have Michael featured as a main role I will watch everything of course and then write about them season by season. Each season will be placed in order of first TV or online release. For these I don’t know yet If I will actually write about every episode or just give an overall synopsis and write about the character. We will see when the time comes. It will be a while from now.
How do you deal with possible mature or upsetting contents?
I put up trigger warnings right on top of the post, so people who don’t want to read about potentially upsetting stuff can skip it. Also I try to tag any posts with upsetting or mature themes as heavily as I can. If you think I’m missing a tag please tell me so! I will not show explicit voilence, gore or sexual scenes in gifs. But there might be some depictions blood (properly tagged ofc) in gifs. If any mature themes are important to the story I will describe them, but that’s it (again, this will be tagged). Personal, less serious note: If the tone and situation allows it I will make jokes, maybe inappropriate ones sometimes. Please let me cope in peace.
What do you do if you can’t find a movie or show?
Luckily hasn’t fully happened yet. I sort of had this with problem Lost in France, but thanks to one nice VCR uploader I found one episode of it online, so I had at least an impression of what it is. If this happens I will write what I can find out about it and make a note of it. Maybe it will turn up someday later.
Which of Michaels roles are your favs?
Rn they are, in no particular order: Aziraphale (the og), Lucian ( the underdog), Colin (the sweet moonchild), Robbie (the first), Miles (the icon), William Masters (the walking relationship problem, like holy shit communicate for once, sir) aaaaaand James lol ifkyk
Disclaimer: I will try to be funny occasionally, sorry about that.
If you have any other questions or just want to chat my dms are always open!
Thank you for reading!

Do you have any hopes/predictions for the upcoming movie?
ooc;; predictions? maybe. hopes? ... in spite of much, yes :')
i'm already committed to see it, but i'm also worried about how it will be, given the trailer and the earlier comments from creatives about the hyper-violent comedy angle. i'm full of worry that they're going to go for that snarky superhero writing style and not embrace how truly weird and fun this could be...
but you want to know about hopes and predictions :) here are some of my thoughts!
i'm hopeful that there will be lots of references to dwight frye's incarnation of renfield, being based around the '31 film.
i think nicholas hoult was a really good pick for that type of renfield. i see it for sure just looking at his other work, and i do like him as an actor, so i'm hopeful that he'll bring an interesting characterization (but i do worry from the trailer that the script may be working against any acting chops he's bringing...).
i'm predicting a lot of marvel style action scenes that... honestly i don't want to see, but... will almost certainly take up a good chunk of the run time.
but i hope that we'll get some kind of interesting backstory for renfield too! pinning the movie on him and his relationship to dracula means we can make it a storytelling priority to explain how he met dracula, what he was like before that, and what exactly he feels about dracula
since they're going for some like... popeye angle of "eat bug, get super strength" i'm hoping for an absolutely bonkers explanation of that. like. it's not the choice i would have made for bringing in the bugs, but if we're doing it, please make it as freaky and fun as possible. please explain the bug powers.
hoping for some 'that's my wife' energy from his love interest. she is a cop, so that's not a great start :/ but i feel like when your male protagonist naturally has such wet cat energy, folks love to throw a kickass woman at him. and rolling my eyes though i am at the Implications™ of framing drac/ren as humorously pseudo-romantic and then giving renfield a female love interest who's Better For Him..... i do also enjoy the idea of renfield with a absolute powerhouse of a woman. but like. universal renfield is also one of the queerest coded renfields ever. and bi people exist (hello hi that's me) but that specific renfield is often seen as just... such a gay man, it just seems wild to give him a woman love interest. so. this aspect is probably going to be messy all over and i don't know if i'll be able to get into it given the weird vibes it may have of "pulled from my toxic GAY relationship by a good, wholesome straight love" but by god please at least let it have 'that's my wife"'energy if it's going to be there.
next hope is just "please god let me be wrong about the above Saved By Straight vibe and let it not be the case at all!!" i mean maybe... maybe he and the cop won't even date, who can say...
possibly i missed some verbage saying this outright, so if i'm stating the obvious sorry about it, but the trailer has some set dressing that implies they're set in new orleans (mulate's cajun restaurant) and i'm hopeful this will be a really fun place to drop dracula and renfield into! (maybe we get lucky and see a vampire chronicles joke?)
and i hope most of all that more casual watchers take away an interest in renfield and learn more about other versions of him! we're right on the heels of dracula daily so i know so, so deeply that more interest doesn't always mean good interest, and people come up with the weirdest takes about my favorite little flyman, but i'm hopeful at least it may turn a few more eyes onto other renfields. :) like me. :)
that's all i can think of at the moment, but i mean i have a myriad of thoughts stewing on this movie... i will be there on opening night, i'm gonna tell you that. so hope the followers are ready to hear about it. i'd also love to hear what others think we might see! please do share your own predictions either in the notes or in my askbox!!
#hey this new ask editing system? sucks! hate it! don't make me use this garbage new editor! anyway...#yeah anon thoughts and prayers for the movie i genuinely do want to root for it i'm not going to hate watch i want their success#but damn if they're not baffling me with some of their choices#||x LET ME ENTREAT YOU OH LET ME IMPLORE YOU! [ answered asks ]#[ renfield 2023 blogging ]#||x LONG AND AFAR OFF [ ooc ]

People on here are here because they love something and enjoy it as a release from everyday tension, boredom, struggles. People here have real lives, most are grownups without the time or energy to be anonymous and stir up issues for more followers. They just want to go to their library, find a good story, and escape into a favorite trope about characters they love. The Klaine library has been stellar because they have never forgotten that. Stopandimagineloveforever has been here for as long as I have, and remains committed to the task of supporting klaine fanfic for, is it over a decade now? They have always operated in a very professional manner, largely despite personal feelings they may have toward a story or a person. Over the years, anyone they worked with has done the same. Only in the most extreme circumstances have I ever seen them even waver, and I commend them for that. Our fandom is very, very lucky to have them. And they have respected those who choose to start offshoot contests and support their efforts in large part.
While I see folks I really like, like hkvoyage, sometimes seeming to be shipping seblaine, which I don’t like, I don’t feel the need to block or censor them or to anon myself to mention that they are no longer followed by me and they should stop helping with a library that exists to support klaine. Because that would just be stupid ignorant childish bullshit. I personally like Grant, he seems charming and adorable, but I am allowed to not like Sebastian as I prefer him as the great villian he is. And I actually enjoy Grant’s take on Seb more than his other work, which is why I think so many DO ship the two (or even Kurtbastian) as they like the “bad boy” or currently highly popular in media “anti-hero as central character you love to hate” tropes. He is a so much more “fun” villian than Karovski, who seems truly dark and dangerous and tragic by comparison, and makes me think of Ryan Murphy in high school, iykyk, which I do not like at all. Fandom used to have some brilliant discussions on the show, and some brilliant writers who moved on, sadly. They made you THINK.) I do enjoy those stories where Seb’s villiany, his lies, his cheating and bad behavior, his sluttiness, and his total arrogance do him in, though. I wish it happened in real life more often, js. Seb is perfectly made for politics. Same with Blam, I like Chord, not so much Sam or Chord’s other acting efforts. I think Chris did the best job of trying to salvage a poorly written character throughout the series with his one episode that he was allowed.
And while I love Kurt, and Chris, sometimes my newest favorite authors make Kurt almost uncharacteristically female, or with very feminized characteristics, almost to the exclusion of his masculinity, a take that I personally was never particularly fond of on the show. It is still canon, though, and though I have thoughts about it that involve both the writers and actors on Glee, and shaped further by comments from each over the years, it is fine if writers want that Kurt featured in their stories. I can read it or not, and I don’t offer any criticism to writers who choose that because, again, it can be found in canon. (Even if it wasn’t, it is allowed, but then you are writing another character, imo. Capturing the real Kurt is a true act of genius that I think very few get right, if I am honest. He is a deeply complex character, he has layers, which is a huge part of his attraction for Blaine, who loves the idea of peeling back and enjoying each layer of complexity to the extent that he is never bored and always fascinated, it’s what makes their relationship bond make sense for me.)
I have been in this fandom for going on 14 years now, and I was old before that, and find most people who post know little to nothing about what they are talking about, or sometimes life in general or the topic they are discussing with such vigor in particular, but they think they do. The intelligent, complex, detailed, well-researched, and lively discussions that used to take place here are long gone, because people simply don’t want to hear what they don’t want to hear, like Kurt about his dad’s attempt at sex talk. They choose revised histories and to erase everything they don’t like for their versions, like much of the world today. We all filter through our own lenses. It is simply not worth the discussion anymore, when real life is so dire and critically important, to fight over this. In fact, it is a distraction most of us can ill afford, and no longer enjoyable to grow and learn from others and consider another point of view, as we all feel threatened by differences now. We no longer listen to evidence or opinions, weigh that, and then use our brains to agree to disagree, about particular things, and still enjoy together what parts of fandom we share. God forbid we change our minds or allow for the fact that we can all feel differently about the same characters we love. The same goes for the actors and the lives they show us. I know some people hate Darren’s baggy pants, or Chris’s sky-high hair, and I laugh and think of those folks fondly, not with hate, when I see some things, knowing they will go on a rant because they just will, but knowing they still love these actors so much.
I choose at this point to support Chris and Darren and focus on their career efforts, while reserving my personal opinions for myself and my few friends online, privately, and to love Kurt and Blaine and Klaine, despite some shitty writing at various times through the seasons, and to enjoy the new, and old favorite, Klaine stories I see. If the writing itself is good, I praise and encourage that, especially from new writers, because I know something about that. If it is not to my taste, for any reason, I move on, because someone else may like it. (The squick we used to get from that glee kink site was insane at times, but we all analyzed the hell out of it and what in the show or in real life inspired it and moved through it like little Freuds.) The same goes for klaine art, polls which garner clicks, discussions of glee episodes, and so on. If I don’t like the art (beautiful artwork, especially of Kurt, but tall Blaine is Not Blaine, smol is an essential character trait and shapes his entire being) I now assume No One Cares for a Discussion, sadly, and I just move on.
I even happen to like Kevin and Jenna’s podcast, unlike almost everyone at this point, as I have had a number of things confirmed from this show, which fan discussions, while quite interesting, still cannot do. When the tell us The Quarterback was invasive because it was basically them and not their characters grieving the loss of someone they loved, for our entertainment, and for an almighty dollar, and largely the choice of a very few against the wishes of many; I thought that at the time, though I grieved with them and would have selfishly missed the show deeply, especially at that point of sudden loss. And there is no way that it doesn’t affect how one sees the episode, which is full of traumatized actors giving stunning first takes on camera for voyeurs. Chris, especially, and Naya, for another, carried a tremendous amount of the weight of that episode, as written by RM, along with the older members of the cast, despite my seeing Chord recently say Cory was his best friend on set and that he took his loss very hard at the time, he has next to no presence here in this episode. Darren was a key spokesperson in the days after, though he, too, is minimized in this episode, while Chris himself virtually disappeared in public. That episode simply cannot exist for discussion in a vacuum.
This fandom is united by Klaine and thus includes folks who love both Darren and Chris, so Criss Colfer, at least as friends and former co-workers who exist in the same universe with a shared history, is shipped here by default. So, can’t we just all get along? While we may love one character or actor more than another, we are united in that we have crossover, and always will. These characters, and these actors, respectively, had too much impact in that shared narrative, and as vibrant personalities in real life, to just fade away.
Or we can look at one another across our divisions and choose to kill this fandom with foolishness, to the detrement of all. Including the actors.
Anon hate - @klainepolls and @carsonphillips
I want to address the issue of Anon hate to Caroline (carsonphillips) and Klainepolls. At the very beginning, when the polls seemed to me to be anti-Blaine, I did Anon saying would they please stop the negativity towards Blaine. Then when I saw the poll about whether Blaine cheat again - I sent them a message asking "would the next poll be about Kurt accepting phone numbers from weird guys in music shops" or something like that. Because yes, I was pissed off with the cheating poll, and should have calmed down before hitting the send button. When people talk about "Anon hate" - to me that meant being nasty and calling names etc. I want to make it clear that I was never nasty in my messages, I hope Caroline knows that was not my intention, maybe my tone was upsetting or annoying. (if any were nasty, I want to let her know it wasn't me. Plus I have seen some she posted that are definitely not me.) I know Caroline has said she is receiving a lot of hateful emails. I want to make it clear that i only sent a few anon, but anyway, I accept I should have sent none.
Yes, i was a dick because i was getting overheated at someone else's view of/hc/jokes about my favorite character. I lost sight of the fact that this was a fictional character, and over reacted, I should have been more mature and had a realty check that there's much more awful things happening irl. I have discussed "anon hate" with another mutual, who has told me that any form of going into a person's inbox to ask them to defend their headcanons can be viewed as a form of harassment, and cause upset. I acknowledge that now.
A few years ago i was accused by someone of sending her anon hate. Even though she was a Klaine fan, she kept saying things which I didn't like about Blaine and Blam. She wouldn't answer my personal messages. So in a short period I sent Anon to her asking her to justify what she was saying about Blaine and Blam - but I never said anything mean to her, but i can see they were annoying. She obviously called me out on her blog. So I learnt to be careful what to send anon after that, but in last few weeks due to crabbiness and lack of judgement, I messaged Caroline/Kp by anon, when I shouldn't have.
~~~~
I want to take this opportunity to publicly apologise to Caroline and Genevieve for any insult or upset I caused them.
Going forward, I don't intend to use my blog, I won't be engaging with anyone anymore from it. I will be taking a break from tumblr, and assess in six months time what I will do with my blog.
With regards to the library, Caroline messaged @stopandimagineloveforever to ask how I can continue to help there, people think their fics will not be promoted. That would not happen. I am currently discussing the way forward with @stopandimagineloveforever.
~~~~
We all make mistakes. I hope my apologies can be accepted, and we can all move on.
#how rouged sees it#klaine fandom#so many people have self-silenced#which is stupid and unfair#just to have this kind of childish bullshit over a goddamned poll#or a podcast#or an opinion#these two actors deserve a more intelligent narrative than they are getting fromfans
