Tarn is Tarn. Even as a graduate of Nickel's masterclass on safe sex and Tesarus' online communities, Tarn will be Tarn.
This guy is walking, talking mess of contradictions that he doesn't even understand his own motivations outside of Megatron's vision. He's impulsive, obsessive, and has a tendency to self-sabotage/bury himself deep into the crafted persona so he doesn't have time to self-reflect.
He's so deep in that identity that he would need a GPS, a map, a compass, and someone yelling "MARCO!" in steady intervals to get out of it. Along with a smoke gun and a plane drawing arrows in the sky.
Look, this guy is a closeted romantic who can't even understand his own urges for closeness and acceptance from a hierarchy. Mix in a Camien carrier that's outside the structure (not personnel to hunt) and inside via technicalities (soothes need to comply Decepticon law and creed), and you got a hot mess overcompensating any inadequacies as a donor.
Because Tarn isn't going to think about his past, do any self-reflection, and ignore all of the screaming from the damaged Seekerkin-coding, he literally went to check out pleasure and sex mods because he found out that carriers typically get cuddly after a good frag, and since his the Camien runs away, he immediately went, "I have to correct this."
Not only does he want constant exposure to being a Good Tank, he also wants his cuddles.

Sometimes I just remember that oh right it's apparently a slightly controversial opinion that I think if Palpatine hadn't been involved at all that Anakin could've been perfectly happy and fulfilled with the Jedi.
Like just from rots we see Anakin want to follow Jedi ideals, to seek advice and even help from the very Jedi that fandom loves to act like he hates and who hate him in return, and we see the Jedi around him actually have a lot of respect for him! But every time he makes progress Palpatine is whispering in his ear and pulling out the stitches and re-opening the wounds, making it near impossible for him to actually grow as a Jedi and instead he grows closer to Falling. Not to mention the war, which was orchestrated in part to actively challenge the Jedi's morals and make them make bad and questionable choices.
Plenty of Legends canon and even current canon in things like the marvel comics show Anakin actively wrestling and considering Jedi philosophy, the pros and cons, and working through all his trauma and trying to figure out what's right for him and what the Jedi code actually means. People act like he only ever does lightsaber training and that he never picked up a book in his entire padawanship (which not only is just not how the Jedi Order works from what we see but honestly is just a boring take on the character imo).
Like, I just don't think that Anakin is actually incompatible with the Jedi Order! I think he could've thrived there if he wasn't being actively sabotaged and also had more time.

#persona 4#p4#persona 4 golden#p4g#hanamura yosuke#yosuke hanamura#this scene gets to me because it reveals how a lot of yosuke's talk about getting a gf or meeting a girl and all of that is just... talk#on the one hand it's atlus needing the best friend character to fill that role of “lets check out girls!”#on the other hand it also reads to me as another facade of yosuke's struggle to meet his idealised conception of an average teenage boy#see it's funny because even in the first instance the role is always a bit deeper than it is#slight spoilers for p3 and p5!!!#but in junpei's case regardless of his flirtations he doesnt actually reciprocate or is even a potential LI for femmc#in ryuji's case when ann turns on the charm and offers to go on a date with him he tells her off and says that she should be like herself#i think that theres always a surprising level of nuance to be found with that skirt-chasing stereotype atlus likes to give us#i think yosuke's narrative here quite closely parallels junpei's in that theyre actually super devoted people#and yosuke has found an attachment to saki in the way junpei had with chidori so of course hes not willing to compromise on it#its such a mixed thing because even though he knew saki's kindness to him was probably faked yosuke's loyalty to her was already set#yosuke strikes me as the type of person that if youre nice to him once he'll follow you for life#i love that nanako was the one that responded to yosuke with like “oh like homework?” and yosuke gently plays along#its evocative of his tendency to shoot his mouth off only to quickly cover it up with a joke#but yu is there in the room as well listening and empathising and i think it was a moment that really#revealed to us (and yu) yosuke's underlying motivations and beliefs#even if it was sandwiched between the moment of yosuke trying to look at yu's prn#or perhaps especially because it was sandwiched between that moment the juxtaposition becomes more salient#that such talk from yosuke functions as a distraction from the anguish and ennui he feels about losing saki#he's good with his queue

i need to solidify my rook hes been a silly failguy but i think hes also very ruthless when his loved ones are hurt. Which is gonna be great when i do lucanis quests tell you what
