ANYWAYS FAIRY TALE CESAR!!!!!

ok this will only make sense if i bring the other characters in so let me give a brief summary of one of the bigger moments of the au

SO, the fabled four solved the whole evie getting poisoned thing, and theyre all chilling. someone finds evie and decides to snitch on her being away from the castle for too long. things happen where evie and adam get taken to her castle, she gets locked in her room but eventually escapes w adam and all that (you know what im talking abt reaper but im just gonna keep it vague and i'll explain the full thing to everyone else later :3 )

cesar actually had become increasingly worried about evie since she had been missing for a few days. after hearing she was with a witch of all people, he was extremely concerned.

he does have a good reason not to trust adam though, cesar had saved mark and sarah from one who was literally about to kill them, and cesar also got cursed by the same one who tried killing them. he had stayed as a frog for years, and when he finally broke free of the curse, he had become so deformed that his family didnt even recognize him.

but no matter how hard he tried, evie wouldnt change her mind.

and neither would cesar for a good long time, especially since one of evie's castle staff ended up being on the witches' side gathering info for them. he'd eventually come around and trust evie that adam means no harm. he doesnt trust adam directly, but hey, that's a good start!!!

Yuichi probably knows that Miyamoto had allied himself with Ninja in the past, one also named Chizu. It's funny because both Chizus upset both Usagis by kinda lying to them and put them in harms way, leading to fighting ninja, and then the Usagis did eventually forgive them and the Chizus end up being besties with the Kitsune's

Also out of the four Yuichi and Kitsune's past is what we least know about, Yeah we get bits and pieces but not flashbacks like the others and it tells a lot about those two not being too attached to their past.

Like i wish for a season 3 so bad to dive into this aspect. Tho honestly if Yuichi's life is kinda mirroring Miyamoto, I would like to see his father being a magistrate that gets killed by Samurai Rabbit's Version of Hikiji or Hebi and Yuichi having to run away with Auntie.

as a person whos got a very serious case of the ADHD’s finishing projects, even silly dumbshit ones like this here blog is a Sisyphean task. generally, my method of achieving tasks is through two methods

METHOD ONE: THE CELL PHONE COMPANY METHOD

have you ever tried to cancel with your cell phone company, or like,,, any scummy service that is designed to be intentionally confusing and overly complicated? we gonna use this method to make your brain Do What u want it do.

if you have a habit of quitting projects halfway through, make it ANNOYINGLY INCONVENIENT to quit. i personally set release dates and flood my socials with posters and shit, that way it would require me to inform everyone i know that my release date has changed, which is annoying and requires the dreaded phone call.

habit breaking is VERY difficult, so making your usual habit more inconvenient than your desired behavior usually gives u that extra push you need.

METHOD TWO: THE JUST STRAIGHT UP LYING METHOD

this is the method i use to beat executive functioning issues, and its an absolute goddamn brain hack to do the dishes.

okay so lets say you wanna do those dishes. they dishes are piling up and its become a jack in the beanstalk situation but instead of fighting giants and medieval poverty, its a sad sad attempt at eating soup with a fork. its okay man, we’ve all been there.

doing ALL the dishes at once seems like an impossible task. its kafkaesque, honestly i dont blame u.

but doing one dish? yeahhh you can handle doing one dish. u got this .

so, you tell yourself you only gotta do one dish, and once that one dish is done, well you might as WELL do the others. i mean they’ll get sad otherwise and you’re already here.

applying this creatively might be forcing yourself to write just one page, which will get you into your groove and then suddenly you’ve written 6 and its some of the best material you’ve ever written.

finally, my biggest suggestion is dont lie to yourself if a project just isnt working. i can tell within the first page of a blog post if its worth finishing.

being creative isn’t always a natural process. it’s uncomfortable work a good 60% of the time. but it’s important to listen to your intuition if you’re struggling to work at it. sometimes, a project you really like has a fundamental flaw thats really preventing you from like,,,, actually getting ideas. its YOUR project, if you dont feel the passion, your audience wont either.

its okay to not finish a project, as long as ur learning and while done is always better than perfect, you dont know you dont like your idea until you do the work fleshing it out.

i hope that helps give you at least a jumping off point yo. i appreciate you coming to my silly goofy self for advice or suggestions, like im flattered for real man

The alchemist- she's a bit on the gloomy side and honestly just tired of life 😭😭 i went with this origin first so her personality is like pretty much based off the game mc we play as, just a tad bit more passive 🚶‍♀️will melt down and turn into mush at the slightest bit of affection so i paired her with leander, and since shes gone through a lot i thought, she deserves some treat <3 and throw in mhin into the equation too hehe another random fact abt her is that she loves plain water... a LOT. Since shes a mage apprentice, i imagine that she probably learn a lot of magic stuff after meeting leander, mostly to get stronger and for self defense

The hound- she got massive trust issues (being betrayed by her friend in the thief syndicate and all) so shes extremely wary of the LIs, like if u think the in game mc is wary of the ppl in eridia, she's like 10x worse. Honestly lowkey like mhin 2.0 except a lil bit snappier 😭 i pair her with kuras and their relationship is kinda like him trying to get a stray cat with human issues to warm up to him 😭😭 doesnt get along with any of the LIs at all and always keep an arm's length around them, but she only lets kuras into her life (and fun fact he loves feeding her) surprisingly tolerates mhin too, and learns a lot abt how to use weapons from them, and since she was in a thief syndicate i imagine her agility lvl is v high (and dont tell this to my unnamed mc but my alchemist and hound mc is my favourite children...)

The unnamed- shes raised like a royalty all her life, since being an oracle means that everyone borderline worship her, but being raised at a temple also means theres many restrictions and shes honestly lowkey sick of being treated like it, though she keeps the perfect facade up, all smiles and all. Shes kind of a lil shit since after running away from the temple, she finds it hard to keep her nice facade up but still tries too hard to keep em (this results in her going 😄😄 but when she suddenly snaps she was like- omg i accidentally let my true colours out- and went back to being nice and all smiles as if her previous outburst didnt just happen- yes shes two faced) i pair her with ais and vere (aka the lil shits 😭) honestly their relationships r just ais and vere trying to make her snap and drop her nice facade its kind of hilarious

for the first official date him & sacha went to the opera together,, sacha, who formally sang in a chorus, was fascinated by the style. it was at the edge of its seat for the whole performance!

neuvillette is no stranger to watching operas, so he got them one of the best seats in the house and was mostly amused by sacha’s interest

they don’t talk throughout the performance, mostly using body language and bursts of eye contact to communicate feeling or thought; they’re not in tune, not soulmates, just two guys who grew up more formally than most

anyhow, the opera quickly becomes their fav date spot. they typically go for a light meal before or after watching a performance :)

OK random FROSTBITE THE BAT (CHARACTER) TOONTOWN RAMBLES

thinking abt frost and their development with them hiding their identity as a cog - it's always been basically a big joke, after all this lore and 'au' with them isn't very serious and is very jokes (though some of the more personal or detailed things mean a lot to me, especially the allan/cathal/frost/spam/hr/freakson goofy family dynamic)

but I just think it's so funny how they went from careless but still careful to realizing nobody cares as a case of convenient plot armor. like oh no wait we can't do that the toons will know we're cogs. We (spam + frost) gotta be careful though the cogs don't know we're toons. we're in this middle ground where we're FUCKED OVER

but they find toons and cogs they love who love them back and frost just had their whole careless development and they just. Don't care now like all the oil stains and only ever talking to cogs that they were worried about in the past it seems to be a joke to them too. as long as like the resistance doesn't know, they're fine

And if they were to be sorta harassed away from presenting as toons and being around toons they have a massive safety net with the cogs. canonically this would never make sense but it's a self insert au for myself and my friend group, so like whatever we want to happen can happen it's goofy it's cheesy it's nice it's very seperate from canon but it's FUN like I'm aware and like. they barely do shit thats like bad bad theyre just silly goofy frost max bites you then does a prank they dont do evile. they dont even got normal job)

Plus frost especially doesn't have to worry about cogs seeing them as a toon and getting attacked either this fucking thing is a menace with maybe a slightly oversized ego even if they get fucked up in a battle they're probably gonna pretend it didn't happen (while everyone else laughs) boy they scare any flunky with those teeth

like it's very unrealistic but it's so goofy and fun just watching this just. goofy loud motherfucker do whatever they want and do pranks and be a menace. it's fun to just have a character to mess with around non seriously but goooood the more private dynamic stuff is so good I mention it in doodles

them mirroring allan with showing off son everywhere and being very proud of him. their dynamic with spam of kinda being the lead sibling getting into trouble and being loud with empty threats with spam just being like 'uh huh yeah' about it because frost wouldn't do it. frost is a very fail character but in a swag way. their whole 'this weird fucking thing that perplexes me I need to know more about them now we got something fruity going on that isn't ever disclosed because it's entertaining on stage but also frost never says shit' with hr (they're the Fucking Thing), them being able to keep cathal company in some times lifting his mood and motivation up whenever he's too dismotivated or. like just depressed for stuff. more reason to do things when you got goofy siblings to do things with. Especially frost being the opposite energy like they have energy levels equal to graham like those two constantly babble!!

Another dynamic!! The rivalry with Graham but like. there's still some slight care bc mole pace flint is canon here. That's their boss and the guy dating their clubs leader and one of their closest friends also like. but also they will be tryna fight each other in small goofy ways and try to one up each other like 💀💀💀 the girls r fighting. i love talking abt the design process (despite not being a professional) and how i think abt clothes. but if there's anything abt fashion sketches i guess is that the process of thinking abt clothes is different for everyone and is dependent on your personal tastes and what YOU like the most in clothing. if you're unsure as to what you love abt certain garments, it's good to think abt the little details of your favorite clothes.

i kinda look at fashion all day and have an archive blog full of clothes or shoots that might inspire me and if you look at enough designers after a period of time, you start to differentiate what you like and dislike abt ensembles on runway and what you'd do differently. and it's good to look at a good range of em of different styles and eras, see which one interests you the most!!

when i do funny little designs i really do try to think abt exactly what i want unless im jusg making a ton of thumbnail sketches to elaborate upon later. if youre lost its good to get a solid concept down first, do you want something dramatic? something more toned down? something casual? elegant? glamourous? something quite the opposite? light and airy? or something a little more heavy looking? if ur designing for a character its good to think abt what would fit them, bc no garment is one size fits all *even for taste.* gabriel looks really good in ornate clothes to me and with his connections to catholicism the aesthetics of religion have a lot one can build off of. its over the top, and with him already wearing armor you can kinda already know he looks pretty good in outfits that can kinda change his silhouettes shape. his pauldrons make me think he would look good in either big sleeves or shoulder pads. :3 minos on the other hand is buttass naked and when he was alive he wasn't elaborately dressed either. he had fabric draped across his body, and so i took to draping. the biggest reason the minos sketch went the way it did was bc i was thinking abt this dragon dress i love that i can't find so i took inspo :,3 he would look good either in body hugging clothes (but not in the way it's the thing shaping him) or something loose, but definitely something sexy. also he has snakes so of course im taking advantage of that

ok now to the actual drawijg part sorry. i like to draw or think abt the silhouette first , and bc i have a tendency to draw things that hug the body tightly i try to think abt how you could transform a boring body hugging silhouette into something that stands out, like huge sleeves or hip pads. if u feel silly it's good to experiment to see Where u can place things, like draping, seamlines or other additions to really make it unique. these little things can change how a concept is read.

the details usually come last unless the concept was hinging upon its details, like if i was sketching smth and thought 'i want this to have an embroidered design and i want that to be the most important thing on it'

i dont think theres really a lot of rules to designing clothes (or more specifically a right way to do it), you just gotta think reaaal hard about how it can stay on someones body or sit on someones body at all, because its not gonna float. you can make it LOOK like its floating but you gotta think of how its even sticking to ones body.

people have different design philosophies based on how they view clothes should be. some people think that 'the clothes shouldn't wear a person, the person should be wearing the clothes' and opt to make sure the clothing cant outshine the person, other people believe the exact opposite, n thats just how it be

run free dude and design whatever da fuck. do research too, research makes designing better and you can find inspiration from anywhere, it dont even gotta be inspiration from the runway :3

also. look up references and the purposes of Princess Lines and Darts if you don't already know what those are. they are good things to know and think abt when drawing clothes
