Recently saw a post relating to Oswald the lucky rabbit being a male wife and in the tags the person mentions a fic and a gripe they had about it and OMFG I'M SO SCARED ITS TALKING ABOUT MY FIC AND I'VE BEEN STRESSING ABOUT THIS SO MUCH, in the tags they talk about and —I don't want to name names here— in the post the tags mentioned Oswald calling Ortensia "babe" and "babygirl" and this person did not like it which granted: FAIR! YOU'RE TOTALLY OK NOT TOO! But in a specific wholesome fic of mine that is related to Ortensia being too scared to tell Oswald she's pregnant (wanna note it contains mention of sex but I actively steer it back into the sfw wholesome direction) anyways: in my fic Oswald does kinda use those pet names as you can see:

And I'd like to note my reasoning for writing this was because I was rewatching the two Oswald Disney Land parade songs on loop, in which there's a song called "Baby take a bow" focusing on Oswald introducing Ortensia to the public

This is why I had Oswald use those pet names in my fic because this entire song is called "baby take a bow" and has Oswald call Ortensia baby. Now I'm aware something like this shouldn't be used as definite proof of a character having a certain trait yet I still decided to add it. Too me I characterize Oswald as a coward with rather expressive emotions and he just puts on false bravado to try and be a cool ladies man yet he's absolutely not and the only reason why he gets anywhere is because that false confidence combined with his luck and that's what allows him to succeed. In my fic he's also an absolute romantic for his wife and does all this stuff for her out of his love he has for her. He also calls her his "queen" yet that's more or less a pun on both Epic Mickey where she's a literal queen and the fact that female cats are called queens. Still some explanation is needed to me to justify my writing choice.

On the off chance this reaches the person that was talking about my fic: SORRY! SORRY! You're totally ok to dislike my work yet I just feel the need to explain myself and I hoped you enjoyed up until I wrote Oswald saying those pet names.

Now on the ALSO off chance this reaches that person and they WEREN'T talking about my fic and I'm being a dumb overthinker: SORRY! This post was made outta my own fear and need to clarify my stupid writing decisions.

I think one of the big takeaways from having a post abt intracommunity transmisogyny get some notes outside my little bubble of mutuals who understand feminism is that most people on this site? Fundamentally do not grasp how intersections with misogyny function. When trans women talk about trans men having male privilege, we are very importantly not implying here that they are treated perfectly by all of society. As with all groups of oppressed men, many of their privileges are heavily curtailed by wider societal oppression on the basis of transness, or homosexuality, or color, etc etc. What this does not do is cancel out their ability to wield misogyny against those who exist within the same oppressed groups. Black feminists have long discussed how black men are still capable of and actively benefit from misogynoir, even though they are also oppressed by racist society. In the same vein, trans men suffering transphobic oppression does not mean that they cannot and do not benefit from transmisogyny within queer and trans spaces. These are truths that are not actually at odds unless you have a deeply skewed conception of intersectional feminism (which most of these people do).

idk if this is accurate but i’ve felt like in previous seasons riz & gorgug have been one of the inter-bad kids dynamics we’ve seen the least of & this season has been so great in that aspect. gorgug having helped make some of riz’s magic gear. riz helping gorgug with his studies. the shared birthday party. gorgug’s gift to riz being something he himself made to protect riz. riz’s gift to gorgug being something he illegally grabbed to protect gorgug. gorgug who utilizes rage to put his body on the line for his friends & riz who will take deep levels of mental stress for his friends. even though it was within the context of a joke, riz calling gorgug an “absolute sweetie.” like yea they might not be in a band together or both part of a presidential campaign team or owlbears teammates, but they’d go to war for each other, because they’re best friends.

Part of the reason I find Wyll to be such a compelling character is that he is such a good person, but in what I think is a kinda unique way. 

I've seen a few criticisms of how quickly Wyll seems to switch sides in his initial confrontation with Karlach; how fast he goes from convinced he must kill her to letting her live. For me though, this makes perfect sense. 

The decision Wyll makes in that confrontation not actually whether or not to kill her; he has to decide whether or not Karlach is innocent, but once he's confirmed that, it's not a question.

He commits so quickly to Karlach because he doesn't have to choose whether or not to kill her in that moment; he already decided seven years ago. 

Because at seventeen years old, he decided he would sacrifice anything for the safety of others. 

At seventeen years old he decided that his own life, comfort and happiness was never worth the cost of someone else's. 

And so at twenty-four, he learns the devil he's been chasing is a person, and a victim, and an innocent, and the decision is already made up. 

Because Wyll Ravenguard at twenty-four is who he was at seventeen, and twenty, and ten. 

And to me that's one of the coolest things about him.

There's a separate post I'd like to make about how Wyll never loses his childhood wonder of the world- and I think there's a very similar principle here. Wyll grew up hearing stories of knights who slay monsters and heros in shining armor, and he took those stories and loved them and held them close to his chest. 

And then he's seventeen and a devil asked him if he wants to be a hero, and he's not an idiot; he understands the price of saviourhood so he says yes. 

And so when he meets Karlach, it's never really a question of if he'll kill her. It's just a matter of him finding the courage. 

Because he says "you don't know what you're asking of me" and he's absolutely right, we don't. But Wyll understands the cost; he's understood it for seven years. I'll bet anything that when Wyll Ravenguard made his pact with a devil to save tens of thousands of souls, he promised himself and his city and his father who wouldn't listen that he'd only ever use his pact to help and be good, and when it comes down to it, he sticks to his word. 

Because above all, Wyll Ravenguard is a man who knows who his is and what he beliefs, and who sticks to his principles no matter what, and for me that's incredibly compelling.

right now it's incredibly important to give time, attention, and money to online fundraisers. but it's also incredibly important not to let scammers take advantage of that and steal money that could actually save lives right now.

firstly-- if we go to this person's blog, and navigate to "archive--"

this person's blog has only existed for a few days, only has a handful of generic posts (many reblogged multiple times,) and made their first reblog the same day that they posted their "fundraiser" post. this is a MASSIVE red flag.

please also note that neither their ask nor post actually mention palestine or gaza at all, but it's still tagged with "free palestine" and "gaza."

though this one should obviously be taken with a grain of salt, it is also worth noting the poor grammar here, because this can be (but isn't always!!!) another red flag. Note also that all the details are really vague and don't quite make sense... user describes "enduring cold" and their "nose freezing" though it's the middle of the summer. This user says that they're "sick," but doesn't really offer any further details about this. This user says that they need money for "resources," but don't elaborate on what exactly they need. They vaguely elude to a need for lodging, caretakers, and medicine, but don't actually give us any details-- despite this they have a "$1200" goal. What is this specific goal of $1200 for? Is that the cost of their medication? Overdue medical bills? Cost for rent this month?... They also apologize in their ask for "tagging" me... but they didn't tag me. They sent me an ask.

Another red flag is that their link labeled "Fundraiser link" leads directly to a Paypal donation page rather than a gofundme or anything else. If someone chooses to collect aid through paypal, venmo, etc. instead of through a gofundme, that's not a huge issue in and of itself... but it is fishy that it's mislabeled like this.

And if we GOOGLE this user's tumblr name or paypal name, we can find results like this:

This also led me to find them on @/kyra45's blog on their list of current scam accounts.

Despite all this, they have close to 100 reblogs from well-meaning people trying to signal boost and ask for donations on their behalf.

With the current situation in Palestine and the amount of actual, legitimate fundraisers and donations being circulated right now, for Palestine, Sudan, the Congo, or otherwise, it is more important than ever to be aware of people who are trying to take advantage of the situation for their own personal gain. Whenever possible, please take the time to do some due diligence when you receive messages like this and check to see if a fundraiser is legitimate! It always sucks for someone to be the victim of a scam and lose money to someone playing pretend on the internet... but it sucks even more when that money could have gone to people in actual, acute, dire need.
