Long time no see! Today I'm bringing over a cute conversation between i-kookminers and k-kkms on Twitter. The lovely @goldenhickeysandramen sent it my way yesterday, and we woke up to replies from korean jikookers explaining the cultural context behind JK's words in a w-live. I found it so cute I couldn't not bring it to your attention here.

The first post was made by someone curious about why korean fans found this JK clip so adorable.

The phrase OP was pointing out is the following (JK's 27/03/23 live, min 51:51):

확실히 이게 사람마다 생각하는 게 많이 달라. Certainly, the way every person thinks is very different. 지민 형의 생각이 약간 오밀조밀하는 거 같아. Jimin hyung's way of thinking is a bit meticulous. 오밀조밀하다기보다 엄청 뭐라해야 될까… Well, more than meticulous, how should I say it...

The word he used to describe Jimin's way of thinking is 오밀조밀 (/oh-mil-cho-mil/). This word is a little difficult to translate because it's a 고사성어 (故事成語), aka a 4-letter-idiom that typically comes from ancient Korean literature or history.

(Before the invention of hangeul, the korean alphabet we all know, Korean used Chinese characters (also known as hanja) to transcribe Korean words and sounds. The heritage of this tradition can be found in words like this, or in the use of hanja in newspapers. Let me know if you want to know more about this!)

오밀조밀 is made up of these 4 characters: 奧密稠密.

奧 means deep, 密 means tight or dense (fun fact, it's one of the two characters that makes up the word 'secret', so it also has the meaning of 'hidden'. Secret in korean is ��밀 /bimil/ or ひみつ /himitsu/ in japanese, 秘密) and 稠 also means thick or dense.

But what does this word actually mean? Why did Jungkook using it cause so much fuzz?

Like OP and other korean fans have said, it's used to describe tightly packed, or delicate and meticulous things.

When I first saw the clip, I agreed with JK. Jimin's extreme attention to detail and delicate and catious thinking, both as an artist and a person, can surely evoke this word. I'd only ever seen that word used to describe someone's facial features, in one of those highly specific and slightly funny ways that Koreans have to compliment someone's physical traits, but I didn't think twice about JK's choice of words.

However, cultural nuance is so important and it cracked the code for me. Here's an explanation:

As you can see, the word still holds that delicate and tight meaning, but it's not used for abstract things such as thoughts. If you look up the hanja dictionary, it describes "a refined and detailed appearance regarding craftsmanship and skill/a very meticulous and detailed appearance." Synonyms include words like 'cute' and 'pretty' (아기자기 is one of them, which means small and cute, baby-like. Isn't that the most Jimin word you've ever heard??).

Like I told @goldenhickeysandramen, nobody knows (or loves) Jimin better than JK. So, yeah, of course Jungkook thinks that Jimin is 오밀조밀, despite how unconventional it may sound. Even his thoughts are pretty to him. 🥺💖

Author's Note: Back at it with my insane crush on Gun Woo! Thank you to all the anon's sending in Gun Woo headcanon requests, I promise they are all going on my list! And my requests are open for either of the alphabet types for other characters too, I'm having a lot of fun writing them! 🥰

a -affection (how affectionate are they? how do they show affection?)

As the first romantic interest in Gun Woo's life, it would take him quite a while to get used to being able to be affectionate with you. Every time he reached out to hold your hand he would blush profusely, almost apologetic in his gentle touch. Eventually as he gets more used to being your boyfriend his confidence would grow, and he'd learn how to show affection in his own ways. This would include saving you the seat next to him everywhere he goes, standing or sitting as close to you as possible in every situation, and more often than not, leaning down to place a soft kiss on your cheek any time the urge to touch you gets too overwhelming.

b - beauty (what do they admire about their s/o? what do you think is beautiful about them?)

Gun Woo is not a shallow man, although he does think you are the prettiest person he's ever met. No, this boy can only fall for someone's heart and that's exactly what he does with you. It wouldn't take much time of being your friend to realise how special you are, your kindness, your interests, and maybe most of all, just how safe he feels around you. He's spent so much of his life protecting and caring for others, but when you ask if he's okay or go out of your way to help take care of him, he'd realise he's never felt like that about anyone, and it's something he'd like to keep in his life forever.

It's hard to think of anything about Gun Woo that's not beautiful - he's a statuesque man with a heart of gold. So when he starts putting in an extra effort to spend time around you and find any way he can to help with whatever you're doing, it would be impossible not to fall in love with him.

c- cuddles (do they like to cuddle? how would they cuddle?)

Cuddling wouldn't come naturally to Gun Woo, only because he has little experience of physical affection and most of the time his body is used to fighting rather than loving. That doesn't mean he wouldn't want to cuddle you though, starting off with a more traditional arm over your shoulder after lots of hinting, and flushing completely red the first time you curled up against his broad chest. Eventually he'll get used to opening his arms and letting you collapse into them, but no matter how long you're together you'll still be able to hear his heart hammering in his chest as he feels like the luckiest person in the world to be that close to you.

d - dates (what are dates with them like? do they plan them out or are they spontaneous?)

This boy definitely had to ask both his mum and Woo Jin about where to go on dates and how to be a boyfriend, luckily they would have given him some pretty good advice about making lots of plans with you, but leaving room for spontaneous dates when you both feel like it. Gun Woo would definitely love going for food with you, enjoying showing off his skills and knowledge at a BBQ place and impressing you with cooking the meat perfectly. He doesn't drink but he does know a few cool bars thanks to his friends, and he'll happily be your designated driver if you do want to try a cocktail or two. And if you wanted to go out for a run or a workout together, that would be Gun Woo's absolute favourite, enjoying nothing more than feeling his best and enjoying the outdoors by your side.

e - ending (if they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

It would definitely break Gun Woo's heart to have to hurt someone's feelings, but he would never want to lead someone on so would definitely call it off if he felt like he had to. He'd be very kind but honest with that person, explaining that it's not their fault and keeping it brief and simple, usually a man of few words.

f - fiancee (how do they feel about commitment? how quick would they want to get married?)

Gun Woo's little family means the world to him, so it's only natural that he would very quickly start thinking about forming a formal little family with you. He'd only want that if you did too though, so he'd definitely test the waters before getting too invested in thinking about proposing:

You'd be sitting on the couch on a normal Tuesday night when you realise that Gun Woo has sat up completely straight and turned to face you, looking pensive as you turn off whatever you're watching to give him space to talk. With an almost serious facial expression he would very thoughtfully ask,

"Do you want to get married?" You can feel your heart skip a beat as your boyfriend of only a few months waits for your answer, almost choking out your clarifying question.

"Gun Woo, are you proposing?" His eyes darted wide as he shook his head, only confusing you more, the poor boy now just as lost for words as you are.

"No! Sorry, I should have been more clear. I meant, do you ever want to get married? I know some people don't ever want to, so I just wanted to check. In case..." His voice trails off as he watches a confused look fill your eyes before you respond,

"Do you want to get married, Gun Woo?" A subtle smile traces across his face as he nods, gaze fixed to his feet.

"To you? Very much so." It's hard not to melt at the warmth in his features as he answers, clearly having pictured a future with you already.

"Then I do want to get married." You reply happily, and Gun Woo nods again, his smile growing wider as he coils his arms around you and pulls you to his chest.

"Then I will ask again properly. Another day." He clarifies, already excited to tell his mum the news.

g - gentle (how gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

Gun Woo is the definition of a gentle giant. He would never want to do anything that might hurt your feelings, knowing how lucky he is to have you in his life, and all the ways you make his every day better. He would never raise his voice, or get angry, even looking at you with only softness in his gaze. He'd also be incredibly careful with his touch, terrified that he doesn't know his own strength and that he could possibly do harm to the one person he would never want to scare or hurt. He loves the way you tenderly brush his face, or lightly graze his skin, so he'd make a very conscious effort to only touch you equally softly, knowing how nice it is to be on the receiving end of those affections.

h - hugs (do they like hugs? how often do they do if? what are their hugs like?)

I don't think he would necessarily be clingy the way Woo Jin would, even though he loves your hugs. It would be enough just to be around you most of the time, getting the warmth and love of your company. But when he's feeling down, or had a particularly tough day, or if he's had to be apart from you, or even if he's just feeling really grateful for something simple you've done for him, then he would immediately envelop you in his arms, fighting back the urge to squeeze as tightly as he can for fear of hurting you. It would be all consuming to be hugged by Gun Woo, his broad frame wrapped all around you, warmth and musky scent flooding your senses as he nuzzles against your neck, his eyes clenching shut as he focuses on how good it feels to hold you.

i - injury (how would they act if they got hurt?)

Gun Woo is so used to getting hurt that he would almost brush it off if he came home hurt. He's not used to being taken care of, so it would surprise him when you insist on gently wiping the blood from his knuckles, holding a cold cloth to his swollen hands before giving them a final 'kiss better' that has his stomach doing flips. After that, he'll get a little bit more used to telling you when he's hurt, enjoying being looked after by your sweet touches and quietly asking if you could kiss him better in case you forget.

If you're hurt then Gun Woo would try to be very practical, getting ready to take you to the emergency room even if it's only the most minor of injuries. You'll have to reassure him that nothings going to happen to you, and that'll you'll be okay, but he still insists on taking you to his mother's place so she can double check you'll be okay and probably make you some emergency soup just in case.

j - jealousy (how jealous do they get? what do they do when they're jealous?)

He's not an insecure man, or someone who gets angry easily, so I don't think Gun Woo would get jealous very easily. He trusts you to the depths of his heart, so seeing a man talk to you would never get him upset or have him making a scene. The only thing that might get him a little bit jealous is if someone starts taking up more of your time and attention, so you couldn't spend as much time with him, just because you are his favourite person to be around. He might show his jealousy by being a bit more needy when you are around him, clinging to you as you move around and telling you how much he missed you while you were gone.

k- kisses (what are their kisses like? where do they like to be kissed?)

You would be the first person that Gun Woo ever kisses, and he'd be immediately sure that he would want you to be the only person too. At first it would just be tentative little pecks, almost too nervous to touch you, letting you take the lead and pull him closer when you're ready. Once he gets a bit more used to the sensation, Gun Woo would be a lot more eager to kiss you again, taking every private moment as an opportunity to capture your lips against his, his kiss firm and passionate, trying to show every ounce of love he feels for you through his actions. He loves when he can feel you smile against him, and when you drift to kiss down his neck or along his jaw, particularly on the side his scar is on, well you can practically feel him melting into a giggling mess beneath you.

l - love language (what is their love language?)

Gun Woo definitely shows his love through acts of service, wanting nothing more than to help his friends and family and do whatever he can to keep them safe and make their lives easier. When you come into his life and start doing little things to help him out, whether it's giving him a home cooked meal, or helping clean up his cuts after a fight, well that's when he starts to realise just how much he's been missing someone exactly like you in his life.

He is also definitely a quality time man. It doesn't matter if you two are sitting in silence, doing different things, even just being in the same room as Gun Woo means the world to him. Be prepared to feel him stealing little glances from time to time, and smiling to himself every time he does, so grateful to be so comfortable by his side.

m - mornings (how are mornings spent with them?)

Gun Woo is definitely an early bird, and it would mean a lot to him if you would sometimes wake up early with him, especially if you join him for a morning workout. But don't worry if you're not really an early morning person, Gun Woo would take a lot of joy of sneaking out of bed without waking you up, taking a few moments to memorise your peaceful sleeping expression and feeling like he was running on air knowing that he's running home to you. If by the time he gets back you're up and working on breakfast, be prepared for him to wrap you in his arms and sweep you off your feet, his adoration for you the only thing he's thought about all morning.

n - nights (how are nights spent with them?)

He's a bit more slow moving in the evening, winding down for the day by lounging with his arms around you, waiting until you start to yawn before suggesting you two get ready for bed. He loves when you're tired enough from the day that you let him carry you upstairs, feeling grateful for every moment he's spent exercising when he can lift you easily and feel you get cosy against his chest.

o - open (when would they start revealing things about themselves? do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

Gun Woo will happily tell you all the basic information about his life from the moment he meets you, his experience with Woo Jin's friendship showing him the value of being open and honest with new people. However he's very used to hiding his emotions and putting on a brave face when he feels like someone is depending on him, so it would take him a lot longer to start telling you when he's having a difficult day or feeling sad or scared. Every time he does, and you comfort him without pity or judgement, he feels like it gets easier to share, and now you're the first person he talks to on his best or worst days.

p - patience (how patient are they usually? what tends to wear their patience thin?)

Gun Woo is the master of patience between his strenuous training and his military service. He'll never get frustrated when it comes to waiting for you, or having to explain things, grateful when you give him the same patience as he slowly adjusts to being a boyfriend, sometimes through the process of trial and error. The only thing that might wear his patience thin is if he hears you talk down to yourself time and time again, frustrated and sad that you can't see yourself the way he does, as easily the most special person in the universe.

q - quality time (how do they like to spend with you?)

Gun Woo just wants to be wherever you are. He loves when he gets to do his favourite things with you, like working out and running, or cooking and eating, and when you come to watch him box it means the world to him. But he also wants to do all your favourite things with you, even if it's something he's never been interested in before, he would try absolutely anything if it meant getting to learn a bit more about you and spend that time together.

r - remember (what is their favourite moment in your relationship?)

When Gun Woo started to fall in love with you, he started to feel self conscious of the long scar down his face, and wondering if he was wrong for turning down the offer of help to improve its healing and appearance. He doesn't think you would judge him on his looks, if you even like him back at all, but he still finds himself trying to sit on a certain side of you, or wearing a mask more to block the scar from your view. He never worried about how his scar would affect his life until he found someone he wanted to grow his life with, growing more and more upset by it until one day Woo Jin calls him out on it, in front of you:

Gun Woo was forced to sit on the other side of you, his scar in plain view, and found himself awkwardly leaning his arm over the back of the chair to rest his face in his hand to hide it.

"Hey, why are you sitting like that weirdo?" Woo Jin teases, laughter turning to concern as his friend breaks into a frown, avoiding eye contact with either of you as he shrugged.

"Just saving both of you for looking at my cheek." He mumbled, trying to play it off, but the pain behind his words was more than a little obvious to the two of you.

"I thought you liked your scar now bro? You're not having second thoughts about the surgery for it?" Woo Jin pries, noticing the way his friend keeps throwing troubled glances in your direction.

"What do you think?" Gun Woo turns to you, reluctantly letting his hand drop from his face so you can take a better look.

"Let me see." You pretend to really consider his face for the first time, something you found yourself doing a hundred times before anyway, lifting the edge of one finger to gently tilt his chin up, trying not to smile at the obvious blush your slight touch brings him. You lean your face in close to really take in every detail of him, watching his sadness melt away as you smile as you look over his features, scar included and nod to yourself,

"I don't think you need to worry about how it looks, especially since you got it from being pretty heroic." Gun Woo smiled, satisfied with your answer, and surprised when you added, "And for what it's worth, some people like scars." He scanned your eyes felt any hint of pity or deception, but noticed instead a hint of rosy warmth flooding your cheeks as you looked almost bashful at your words, letting go of his jaw and smiling to yourself as you looked to Woo Jin for reassurance, who was busy grinning at his now elated friend, who suddenly felt like nothing in the world could keep him from trying to win your heart.

s - security (how protective are they? how would they protect you? how would they like to be protected?)

Oh boy is Gun Woo protective of you. He can't help it, he's protective of everyone around him and because you are the most important person in his life that goes ten fold for you! Whenever you two walk anywhere together he'll always be shoulder to shoulder with you to make sure everyone knows you've got him by your side, and if you ever need to walk somewhere in the dark you best believe Gun Woo is coming to meet you, whether you ask him or not. He believes in being a gentleman, from opening doors and pulling out chairs, to making it his job to keep you safe from all the danger he knows is out in the world.

t - try (how much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

Gun Woo would always try his best to show you how much you mean to him at every opportunity. He would never take having you in his life for granted and would put the effort into every day domestic tasks to show you how committed he is to building a little home with you; you don't even have to ask for him to do things like buy groceries or clean parts of the house, the things that really show he's ready to settle into a life with you. He's a little bit more clueless when it comes to anniversaries and gifts since he's new to this whole relationship thing, but he'll always try his best to get you something special, and he'd never forget the important dates for the two of you.

u - upset (how do they act when you're upset? how do they act when they're upset?)

Gun Woo's default is to hide his negative feelings from those around him, putting on a brave face in public and waiting until he's alone to collapse into tears. It would take him a long time to get used to letting you see him in the moments he feels weak, but he knows how much he values being the person in your life that you tell about your bad days, so he wants to do that for you too. Gradually he realises just how much better he feels when he shares his problem with you and you throw your arms around his neck, pulling him close while he cries, and gets more open with you about his feelings.

When you're upset Gun Woo's first thought is always finding a solution, something tangible he can do to make this situation better. You might need to explain to him that sometimes you just want to talk and be upset and have him be there for you without needing to fix the problem, but eventually he'll start getting better at knowing when to just listen and hold you.

v - vanity (how concerned are they with their looks?)

Gun Woo knows all the things his body is capable of, and with the exception of having to get used to his new scars, he doesn't really think much about how he looks. He tends to default to athletic clothes given the life he leads, but he'd definitely try a new outfit or haircut if you suggested he might look handsome in it.

w - wildcard (a random headcanon for them.)

I think Gun Woo would really struggle to accept help at first. It's a natural part of a relationship to take care of each other, particularly when you share a home, but having spent most of his life taking care of the people around him, it's a big adjustment for Gun Woo to let someone else look after him for a change. The first time you cook or clean something for him, or even just do him a small favour, he'll be extremely apologetic and insist that you don't have to do things like that for him, already trying to think of ways to pay you back. You'll have to sit him down and take his hands in yours, and gently explain that you've seen the way he always takes care of everyone else, and that it's amazing of him but everyone needs help sometimes, and so can he please let you be the person to look after him occasionally? He'll immediately become a blushing, smiling mess, nodding and apologising for not accepting your help in the first place, practically collapsing into your lap for the rest of the night.

x - x-ray (how easily are they able to read you?)

Gun Woo's not a natural people-person so he might not always know when something is on your mind straight away. You need to get used to being direct with him at first, telling him when he's said something that's upset you, or when you're in a bad mood and need him to do something to help you. He's always more than happy to do what you say, and the longer you two are together, the easiest it becomes for him, but it's not something he'll even find easy.

y - yuck (what things do you do that they hate?)

Gun Woo is very old-fashioned in a lot of ways, and he'll find it a bit off putting if you do something that goes against that code - like disrespecting an elder (even if they deserve it.) That being said if you are the one to open a door or pull out a chair for him, he finds that adorable, giving you his happiest little smile as he proudly follows you.

z - zzz (what is a sleep habit of theirs?)

Gun Woo is so used to sleeping alone that at first he actually finds it a little bit difficult to fall asleep with you lying beside him - he's so excited to have you so close, and he can't quite force himself to stop looking at you long enough to close his eyes, suddenly self conscious of how much space he takes up in bed, not wanting to overstep any unspoken boundaries. When you realise that he's struggling, you intentionally shuffle closer to him, showing he doesn't need to be so worried about touching you. You'd whisper kind things to him in your softest voice, and trace shapes across his arm and back with your fingertips until you can feel his muscles relax into cosy sleep, finally drifting off yourself. Now Gun Woo's starting to realise he can't sleep without you next to him anymore.

A low/no-angst WangXian podfic rec list for hard times and cozy days

This list is far from complete and incorporates suggestions from the MDZS podfic discord server as well as comments on the last iteration of this post. But in the end, this is only my opinion of what’s cozy and low-angst, so please make sure to read the tags yourself before embarking if you’re feeling sensitive!

A = Affection (How affectionate are they? How do they show affection?)

He likes some PDA, but will tone it down most of the time, opting to have his arm around you or steal quick kisses when attention isn't on you. At home, however, he is ON YOU, as touch is the easiest way for him to show affection. He wants to have you as close to him as possible, with his hands all over you. I think words of affirmation are also important for him to receive, so he loves hearing you tell him how much you love and appreciate him.

B = Best friend (What would they be like as a best friend? How would the friendship start?)

He can become friends with anyone at any time. He is a yapper. And with all his random facts in the back of his brain I think he can find common ground with just about anyone. If on the odd chance he doesn't, he's more than happy to listen and learn. As a friend, there is nothing he wouldn't do to keep you safe and happy. He would make sure to check in all the time and would be happy to do favours, anytime you need. I think in a best friend he needs someone to have serious conversations with, but also have fun with. He loves to have a friend he can truly open up to about his childhood or anything he's feeling, and of course will listen to you in return.

C = Cuddles (Do they like to cuddle? How would they cuddle?)

CUDDLER ALERT!!! BIG MAN BABY ALERT!!!!! He loves physical touch, so cuddling is one of his favourite ways of showing affection. He would cuddle with you in any place and any position but there's something about being little spoon that hits so hard, especially after a long day at work. He also loves laying on his back with your head on his chest and vice versa so he can lay on your tits<3

D = Domestic (Do they want to settle down? How are they at cooking and cleaning?)

This man owns a fucking APRON!! He is in his element in a domestic little scenario. He wants nothing more than to start a loving family and create a safe place with his partner. He definitely likes cooking more than cleaning, but he's fair, and will divide cooking and household chores pretty evenly.

E = Ending (If they had to break up with their partner, how would they do it?)

He's been to therapy, and we've all seen how his other relationships have ended. He now knows the importance of communication, so I think there would be a lead up to a break up. He wants nothing more than to work it out with you, trying to talk out the issues, but if there was no plausible solution, he would sit you down and have an honest, but respectful conversation about it.

F = Fiance(e) (How do they feel about commitment? How quick would they want to get married?)

He wants to be married so bad!!! He can't wait to find the right person to settle down with. He loves seeing all the happy couples he works with, and he can't wait to add someone to the 118 fam. I think the timeline could go two ways, he's pretty impulsive, so I could definitely see him proposing within a year of dating (if everything is going exceptionally smoothly). The other way it could go is him waiting like, a weirdly long time. He's a bit nervous about you saying no, so he holds off (even though he imagines you with a ring on your finger very often), but one day just kinda blurts it out. Maybe you're laying in bed, talking and giggling and he's just filled with an uncontrollable joy, and he just has to speak his mind. After he says it he kinda freezes, looking at you nervously before you of course say yes and he's basically jumping for joy, hugging you and kissing all over your face and pulling the ring out of his closet that he bought but was too nervous to present to you in the traditional way lol.

G = Gentle (How gentle are they, both physically and emotionally?)

He's pretty gentle overall, both physically and emotionally. He's seen how he who shall not be named has affected Maddie and would never do anything to make someone afraid of him in that way (either a partner or a friend). He loves giving you soft touches, loving how you shiver as his fingers trail down your arms, your chest, your soft stomach, your plush thighs. He's also a man who has been to therapy, so he might be a little impulsive, but he has a lot of emotional intelligence, and always tries to ground himself and be as gentle as possible in any situation when it comes to people he cares about.

H = Hugs (Do they like hugs? How often do they do it? What are their hugs like?)

King of hugs, truly. He LOVES them. It's a nice way for him to show how much he cares, and how much he loves you, so expect them often. If you're not one for physical touch, he understands, but sometimes he just can't help himself. Sometimes he needs a good hug to calm him down, or during the odd time that he has no words, he tries to put all his emotions into a hug. He's a bear hugger, he loves feeling your arms around him, your chest and soft belly pressing against him. He wraps his arms around your shoulders, pulling you in as close as you can possibly get, resting his cheek on the top of your head. When he's really happy, his arms are going around your waist, lifting you up off the ground as you protest, fighting out a "put me down" through giggles, but still hugging him back. He will hear none of your protests, of course. Have you seen his arms? He works out. "Of course I can lift you, pretty girl"

I = I love you (How fast do they say the L-word?)

I think he waits a while to say it. He's been in his fair share of relationships and is a little weary of people leaving, so I think saying I love you could be something that he's a little hesitant to say early. Once he does, however, it's coming out of his mouth about 30 more times before the day ends. Before he says it, there's plenty of other ways he says it without actually saying the words. "Text me when you get home." "Did you eat today?" "Here, let me help you with that." That sort of thing. To him, words of affirmation are important, he likes to hear how things are going, so him saying I love you is just his way of ensuring that he's in it all the way.

J = Jealousy (How jealous do they get? What do they do when they’re jealous?)

Ok, I know what you're going to say, "but what about 7x04???" I know, but I think those were slightly different circumstances. I think before he gets into a relationship, and he knows that you only want him, he can get very jealous. If he sees someone getting a little too close to you, it takes everything in him not to physically get in between you and the person you're talking to (even though he sometimes will discreetly, brushing it off as him wanting to tell you something or show you something). He's scared that you'll choose someone else instead and leave him. He'll hang out with you more, asking more and more about this new person in your life, making sure that they don't have a better chance to get with you than he does.

If you are dating, however, I think he really tones it down on the jealousy. Instead of worrying about other people, he shows you how much he cares about you. If he really feels jealous, I think he may bring it up to you, as he's learned the importance of communication, and will try to come up with a fair way to solve this problem. He doesn't expect you to not talk to this person anymore, he more just needs to hear that you want him, not the other person, and that you are happy in your relationship.

K = Kisses (What are their kisses like? Where do they like to kiss you? Where do they like to be kissed?)

I could actually write 100,000 words about this I think, but I'll keep it short(ish). This man THRIVES on kisses, if you think he loves hugging, good lord you're in for it. He puts so much emotion into his kisses, if it's not just a peck, and you're not expecting it, it'll leave your head spinning. He'll give you quick pecks all the time, but sometimes he can't help but wrap his arms around you and give you a long passionate kiss. Once he pulls away he'll kiss your face all over, loving how you laugh softly. He also loves giving you kisses on the top of your head when he hugs you, just letting you know that he's there and he loves you. His favourite, however, are neck and jaw kisses, both giving and receiving. He loves how you tilt your head back, sighing softly as he kisses you, melting against his touch. He also loves feeling your lips on him, squeezing your waist tighter as you kiss him, feeling so loved and cared for in that moment. Be warned though, if you kiss that man's jaw, he has no choice but to jump on you.

L = Little ones (How are they around children?)

Dear god he loves kids so much, we've all seen how he is with Jee, the baby from episode one, and that little girl stuck in the claw machine. He's full of energy anyway, so he loves running around with them, colouring with them, watching their silly little shows and singing with them. I also believe this man is a girl dad, and you WILL catch him wearing a tutu and a little princess crown on his head, looking comically large with a little teacup in his hand (with freshly painted bright pink nails, his pinky out, obviously) and sitting uncomfortably at his daughters teeny little table.

M = Morning (How are mornings spent with them?)

If neither of you work, you take the opportunity to spend some extra time in bed, slowly waking up together as Buck has practically wrapped himself around you. When you finally drag yourselves out of bed, you go downstairs to make some coffee. If you're feeling fancy you'll make some waffles with strawberries and blueberries, but most of the time it's eggs or frozen waffles lol. You spend the morning quietly, just enjoying each other's company before getting on with your day, using it as a time of relaxing and being close to each other.

On days where one or both of you works, you'll still stay in bed for a few minutes, happily pressed against each other before you finally have to get ready for the day. You'll mostly spend your time separately as you get ready, whoever has more time that morning will brew the coffee and bring up that and something quick for breakfast to the other, with a soft kiss as a thank you. While you spend your mornings doing your own things to get ready, they're still full of touching and kissing as either of you pass each other, still wanting to spend some time together before you leave for the day.

N = Night (How are nights spent with them?)

Buck loves cooking, so on nights where you both are home he'll cook a nice meal for you, sometimes letting you help. After dinner you'll both get into your comfy clothes, ready to spend the night winding down. We all know Buck loves learning new things, and has an unending amount of fun facts up his sleeve, so he loves to curl up on the couch with you and watch shows about his current hyper fixation.

O = Open (When would they start revealing things about themselves? Do they say everything all at once or wait a while to reveal things slowly?)

I think he'll reveal things slowly to you. He's not necessarily hiding it, he just brings it up as it comes up naturally in conversation. I think he also tends to reveal the more traumatic things about himself randomly, leaving you looking at him with your jaw dropped, unsure of what to say. He looks at you sheepishly, shrugging softly as you regain your composure, pulling him in for a hug/kiss before you let him explain, if he wishes to.

P = Patience (How easily angered are they?)

I think with you he has a lot of patience, but it also depends on what exactly it's about. If it's about your wellbeing he would definitely get upset quickly if you were brushing off your wellbeing in favour of work/other people/etc, but I think a lot of the time he tries not to get too worked up. Communication is very important to him, so rather than getting upset over small things, he chooses to have an in depth conversation about anything you may disagree about.

Q = Quizzes (How much would they remember about you? Do they remember every little detail you mention in passing, or do they kind of forget everything?)

He remembers a lot about you. It's like memorizing the silly topics he researches. He wants to know everything there is to know about you. He remembers a lot of little things, like your favourite flowers, or how you hate when people chew with their mouth open. He also knows you though, so a lot of the time, if he can't really remember something, he knows you well enough to take a guess and be mostly right. Your favourite snack slips his mind when he's getting groceries? He knows if you usually reach for sweet or salty, and he knows generally what you like, so if he had to guess, it would be one of your favourite snacks, at least.

R = Remember (What is their favorite moment in your relationship?)

His favourite memory is the first time you spent the night at his place. When you woke up in his arms you looked so happy, eyes still full of sleep and hair a bit of a mess, but he thought you looked so pretty. You stayed in bed for a while, content in just being close to each other, exchanging soft kisses and giggles, before you got up. He wanted to show off his cooking skills, so he made your favourite breakfast, and you looked so happy at his kitchen table, like you belonged. He also noticed how you were a little bit surprised by his actions, not used to this treatment from other men from your past, and he vowed that he was gonna treat you so well that you would forget all about the way you've been treated by your exes.

S = Security (How protective are they? How would they protect you? How would they like to be protected?)

He is extremely protective of everyone in his life. If he had to choose to put himself into a dangerous situation versus you, he would choose himself in a heartbeat. I think in situations that are less life or death, he'd still be very protective, not wanting anything to happen to you. I don't think he'd be protective in an overbearing way, but he would want to make sure that you weren't in any kind of danger that he could've prevented.

T = Try (How much effort would they put into dates, anniversaries, gifts, everyday tasks?)

He puts in SO MUCH EFFORT!!! I don't think he puts in a ton of effort for every single date, sometimes just opting for a nice night in or something more lowkey, but if he wants to, he will do anything to make you feel special. I think he puts in a lot of effort into most aspects of a relationship: gift giving, communication, etc.

U = Ugly (What would be some bad habits of theirs?)

Sometimes, when he's trying to get one of Bobby's recipes right, and he's feeling a little frustrated about it, he'll flop down on the couch instead of cleaning up the kitchen. You walk into the house, eyes falling on the dishes and food all over the counters, looking over at Buck, who smiles innocently. He comes over to you, wrapping his arms around you as he kisses you softly, which works in trying to get your mind off of it. He knows the disastrous kitchen drives you crazy, and he will get to it eventually, but sometimes he doesn't wanna get to it right away.

V = Vanity (How concerned are they with their looks?)

He puts in a fair amount of effort. He clearly works out, and enjoys being in as good a shape as he can be, but he also takes the time to look put together when he's in public. At home he cares less about looking perfect, but he still cares.

W = Whole (Would they feel incomplete without you?)

This man YEARNS for a partner that he can experience life with. I think when he meets the right person he will definitely feel like a weight is lifted off his shoulders, realizing how good sharing a life with you is. While he does think it's important for you two to have lives outside of the relationship (your own friends and hobbies), he loves to have someone to come home to at the end of the day and know that he has someone rooting for him and vice versa. While he doesn’t necessarily feel incomplete without a relationship, he definitely thinks you bring out a side of him that he likes.

X = Xtra (A random headcanon for them.)

HEAR ME OUT!

This man LOVES to be pampered!!! If you ever wanna have a little spa night with him, he is agreeing so fast. He'll let you wash his hair while you take a shower, he'll sit there while you put a face mask on him, and then he'll lay there while you massage his back, and he'll of course return the favour. He eats up all the attention you give him, and he loves how refreshed he feels after your little spa night. He'll feel so relaxed and would have the best sleep of his life with you wrapped in his arms after.

Y = Yuck (What are some things they wouldn’t like, either in general or in a partner?)

I feel like he hates it when people are late. The odd time, fine. He can’t blame you if you lose track of time or run into traffic. But if someone is consistently late, he can’t help but get that feeling that it’s because they don��t wanna be there, or that they don’t care about him. In his words, he is always the one that watches others leave, and being late makes him feel a little bit like someone leaving him.

Z = Zzz (What is a sleep habits of theirs?)

We all know this man SNORES, which you were surprised about at first. How can this peaceful looking little guy be so goddamn loud?? It takes a while to get used to, but after a while, it becomes a little comforting. On nights that he's not sleeping beside you, it feels a little too quiet. He's also a big cuddle bug, he loves feeling you pressed up against him when he goes to sleep, knowing you're so close to him. If he woke up in the middle of the night and had somehow gotten out of his grip he'd be moving over beside you, draping an arm over your soft tummy before passing back out again.

IDK, the idea of one of Minecraft's original, oldest Youtubers being a silver fox is just really funny to me.

Also because of the mask, having big ears and a tail to emote with will make him a lot more expressive (I will probably draw comics with these guys eventually, just knowing how I fanart.)

I am not immune to Eefo Propaganda.

I really like the idea of the triple-heart headband that gets scratched out over the course of a series. (Not sure how that'd work with series that don't go by a traditional 3-life system, though. Maybe they're filled in, go dark, then get scratched out?)

Half tempted to turn his shoulder-spots into hearts, too.

Gem:

A faun!

Already shows signs of going for heart-level skins, which I am super excited about drawing. (Like the eye change in Secret life, and the target on her overalls in Wild Life)

Also love the bandanna, it's so cute.

Her entire vibe is adorable but threatening, and that's honestly one of the most fun to capture.

This is also when I started adding quotes to some of these, as I've been drawing them in semi-alphabetical order.

In my heart of hearts, that heart on her overalls is made of sequins.

Grian:

A red macaw, conditionally.

Of course I had to draw Watcher Grian, I am not immune to Watcher Propaganda.

God I love drawing feathers. Figuring out how to fit a Macaw's feather pattern into the ear-wings was super fun, I think I did a pretty good job?

The scaled hands and feet are not going to show up on any of the other bird-folk on this series, that's a unique to Grian thing.

As another winner, Grian also gets a little crown and the sun near his name.

I love Grian's sense of humor and how wild and delighted his laugh is, how often he audibly claps at stuff that happens throughout the series, and how easily he makes things fun for other players, so I really wanted to pay homage to that.

Tantric Astrology ♄

There are several ways of understanding the planets in our charts such as palmistry, tarot, the Qabbalistic tree of life, etc. All of these systems are excellent but I wanted to introduce you all to a more physical and systematic method of astrology that uses yantras, the bodily processes, and the very primordial teachings of the tantras that can help you get better at astrology and find patterns and associations in the mundane life.

Tantric astrology is the esoteric and hidden branch of astrology practiced within a small number of lineages in the South of India specifically Sri Kula and Kali Kula (the lineages that worship the Goddesses Lalita Tripurasundari and Maha Kali). Although, the presiding deity and ruler of Tantric astrology is Maa Kali and it is through her blessing we can begin our journey into learning more about this mind-blowing astrological technique. Even with the basics, you will be able to correct a lot of your karmas and remediate afflictions in your chart.

Lord Shiva is the vessel through which Shakti flows which is why he is known as Shaktimaan because he's the boundary in which Shakti revels and enjoys her play which also makes Shiva the passive enjoyer and observer of the play. The Goddess Kali represents the primordial soup, the nakedness and ink-black darkness of the universe that pre-existed Shiva as Para-Shakti, and then through him as a medium, she came into becoming, traversing and permeating the cosmos. She wears the 52 letters of Sanskrit around her neck as they represent different facets of herself (Fun fact: there is not a single sound discovered outside the Sanskrit alphabet.) Maa Kali becomes an important aspect of tantric astrology due to her natural ability to control the 8th house of occult and the hidden aspects of life.

ॐ ह्रौं काली महाकाली किलिकिले फट् स्वाहा॥

In Shakta tradition, it is believed that the cosmos came into being through the will/desire (iccha) of the Goddess to learn more about herself (jnana/knowledge) and so she created the complex universe and all of its beings, objects, and abstract concepts (kriya/action) to discover herself and her highest potential which is why kindness, love, and empathy towards all beings is core to all religions because it is a recognition of the divine in everything.

All of these three forms of Shakti exist within us and are operating at different levels. If you're giving exams, the truth of your knowledge is being tested (Jupiter-Saturn combination). If you're clocking into your job, you're doing your duty and following the dharma (Sun-Saturn combination).

Here's a brief explanation of the triangle and what the 3 main planets represent:

Planets that have a concentration of the Shaktis:

Saturn -Iccha: In the Mahavidya system, Maa Kali is represented by the planet Saturn as she is the Shakti of Time (Kala meaning time) and time is the only thing that cannot be controlled by anything. Time is also the ever-present, the permanent thing that brings so many life changes hence it is related to the Will or Desire to be or do anything. A healthy Saturn is not helpless and does not feel constrained by its responsibilities. A badly functioning Saturn often has a hard time controlling its desires, is egotistical, and can resist law and traditions which can make it difficult for the native to achieve their desires. To strengthen your Will, you can chant the root chakra Beeja mantra 'Lam' every day at least 1000 times per sitting.

Lagna/Ascendant -Jnana: The Goddess Bhairavi is the concentration of the highest levels of knowledge which is why in Tantra, a female adept is known as Bhairavi (she who is awe/terror-inspiring) for she, just like a newborn is pure but can alchemize the world around Her. The ascendant holds all of our potential and happiness for it is the current karma/action we will take which is why it becomes so important to be knowledgeable to make the best decisions in life. Jnana becomes useful when it is applied appropriately and correctly. An unafflicted ascendant gives purpose, happiness, health, and the motivation to achieve goals but an afflicted one often makes a person a little directionless and they find it hard to manifest their desires into reality which relates to:

Sun -Kriya: Kriya means completed action, it is the fulfillment of Iccha and the use of Jnana to reach a particular goal. In the Mahavidya system, the Goddess Matangi rules over the Sun due to her being Vaikhari Vak Shakti (The speech that has already been uttered.) Sun represents Kriya due to his ability to continuously create and be it is when the reality in his mind is projected outwards appropriately and without flaws. This is why it is said that God created us perfectly as we are. A healthy Sun dispels all ignorance, it is creative and gives self-esteem, and the ability to go achieve your desires and follow your will (hence it is exalted in Aries which is the natural ascendant). A weak Sun has low self-esteem, difficulty standing ground, and gives in easily to other people's will. To strengthen the Lagna and Sun, practices such as Surya Namaskar, Linga-Mudra, Bhastrika Pranayama, etc. work very well. These practices also increase the fire element in the body which gives us a natural glow (ojas).

The world is ever-changing based on the will of the great Goddess so nothing is permanent. Similarly, in Tantra, the belief is that our body is a microcosm of the great cosmos with the many Nadis and chakras that work tirelessly to make it work in the best way so it can achieve its goal and the final purpose. Tantric astrology remedies involve everything from fire rituals to yoga techniques to clear the Nadis and ensure a proper flow of energy in the chakras so that they can assist your path to liberation. Remediating the Iccha-Jnana-Kriya triangle is enough to fix a lot of the other planets in your chart because they're the very foundation of everything. Sun is Shiva, Saturn is Kali and the knowledge and creative force that exists between them is the ascendant for it is the truth of our lives.

As the water of the ocean is now calm and next agitated into waves, so are Brahman and Maya. The ocean in the tranquil state is Brahman, and in the turbulent state, Maya.

Ok, so Noldolantë, "The Fall of the Noldor" is a lament composed by Maglor about what happened before, during and after First Kinslaying at Alqualondë. It's such a good song that it's played regularly in Aman and Valar listen to it often (I swear, I swear it was in the Silmarillion I just can't find it now).

It's also a more or less common fanon that Maglor continues writing Noldolante through the whole First Age. Makes sense - it's about fall of the Noldor, and Noldor did a lot of falling back then.

Headcannon time: So my first thought was that Noldolante must a long, long, long epic of a song. So it probably has many parts, right? Iliad has 24 books/parts, somehow I think Noldolante would be at least just as long, and there are longer epics. And again, just like Iliad, unless you're a scholar, in the daily life you don't really listen to/read the whole thing, just reread and repeat the most dramatic fragments. What I'm trying to impress upon you all is that the story would have different segments, or chapters, if you will.

And if Maglor continues to write the story during the FA, there would absolutely be a moment in the lament where the OG Noldolante becomes Noldolante 2, and even Noldolante 3. There may be the same musical motif or something, I decided that Maglor IS that good of a bard to keep it all consistent enough so you know it's all the same story, but the style changes a lot - it's been 400 years in the making, let The Music Elf have fun!

So, Point 1: Many, Many Parts, basically Maglor's FA WIP

My second thought was that, while Feanor invented his alphabet, elves learned their history mostly through oral tradition aka songs and spoken stories. Noldolante is definitely a historical record, where a historical event was archived for future generations.

(It was a also a way to deal with grief, guilt and blame Maglor and all Noldor have faced regarding First Kinslaying - free therapy! But that's not what this post is about)

My 2.5 thought was that Noldolante isn't just recallings of how pretty and horrified the beach looked during the murdering or how mad and sorrowful the sea was at everyone during the voyage or even how awesome and charismatic Feanor looked during his speeches that every single Noldo was ready to fight Morgoth barehanded in his name - no, this is a record of who killed who, who got killed by whom, and how.

Noldor and Teleri knew each other (were friends, even!) before the First Kinslaying, so I'm confident that after a lot of interviews, detective work, and cross-referencing, Maglor could and would create a very good... name list. Practically every Noldo and Teler present during First Kinslaying would get a stanza in a song, more if he killed someone, most if he killed many people. Killers and killed would show up twice, first in a fragment listing the killers and their victims, then in a part listing the victims and their murderers. Basically it's the same thing twice, but from different POVs. With when, where and how included.

(It was seen to be in bad taste to compare kills during Maglor's Regency, when most of his interview-part work happened. People did it anyway. There were a Saddest Kill, Funniest Kill, and Weirdest Kill discusions. There was a Tier List. These were weird times to be a Feanorian Noldo.)

(It WAS in Bad Taste, but at least people talked about it. I cannot stress enough how much free therapy this lament provided)

(Little did they know, when Teleri started getting reembodied in Aman, they had very similar discussions, but more in a "I can't believe he killed me like THAT" way. Long, long, long after the First Age. Noldolante is a gift that keeps giving)

So, Maglor had all the historical grith and no common shame to create a "We Killed All These People And We Feel Bad About It" banger of a song, and every Noldo had a very personal reason to at least remember the fragments they are in. It's a hit on a scale never seen before.

(I'm not sure how to tackle the issue of Nolofinweans and Arafinweans learning about Noldolante after crossing the Ice. But there were discussions. There was anger, there was "????", there was controversy. Basically, the song got bigger and bigger rep no matter what your opinion on it was. By the time of Mereth Aderthad it was an important cultural and political piece and at least Fingon's forces were included in the main song. It had parodies.)

Point 2: Archive Function/Kill count storage. Cultural phenomen, every Noldo included

This is where my personal nonsense begins: Main Noldolante was done, there was nothing more to say about First Kinslaying, all killings and deaths were well documented.

But the Siege started. And the Noldor kept dying.

It was less dramatic than it sounded - between the big battles the siege was maintained, but orc raids also happened and sometimes one to few Noldor died in skirmishes. The legal procedure was to document the death of a fellow elf and send a word to king Fingolfin. The cultural procedure, technically started by Feranorians but adapted by many more, was to send the name, common characteristics and cause of death to Maglor's Gap. After few months, King Fingolfin would send reinforcements, short condolences and financial compensation if they had family. After few months, family of an elf would also receive a personal lament for them and a place for them in a Noldolante.

Yes, every lament Maglor created in that time was technically part of the Noldolante. Noldolante 1.5, if you will. Laments make in that time were very customized, and simpler than Noldolante Main, but were still considered a part of the same song. Of course, nobody was expected to know and remember laments for every single Noldo, younger Noldor born in Beleriand could even only know fragments about their family members. Only Maglor would ever know Noldolante in full, but it was understood that everyone had their place in The Song.

The results of Great Battles were harder to document, but Maglor did that. Of course, Dagor Bragollach was hard on him personally, but he worked his way through.

(High King Fingon forbade creating laments for his father. There were no songs for Fingolfin. Apart from in Noldolante, of course. Of course. Maglor did not share the lament with anyone, but he sat long hours and many nights with a blank paper before him, looking at the candle flame and thinking of the past and the future. The song unsung, but there)

Nirnaeth was... Maglor was never more hated and more approached at the same time than then. Still, Noldolante grew and grew, as if people knew the end was near.

It was Second Kinslaying that destroyed the myth of Maglor's song. Feanorians didn't know the Sindar they killed, but surely, they couldn't just left their names unmentioned like they did with orcs? So, Noldor talked, but the battle happened in caves - it wasn't uncommon to find dead bodies in empty rooms, with no witnesses to what happened. Surviving Sindar didn't want to share any names, even when Maglor strong-armed some into talking with him, and good for them. Maglor made a big lament anyway. Maglor, wild, with no shame and dead brothers, with legacy crumbling around him. Noldolante, with holes.

After Third Kinslaying, Noldor didn't want to talk. Lament for Sirion didn't have any names. Clearly, songs weren't a way to go anymore, it was always about live witnesses. And so Maglor raised the twins.

Lament for Maedhros was sung repeatedly. There was no one to hear it.

Point 3: Only Maglor knows Noldolante in full. But that doesn't matter, because everyone knows the important part: the Noldolante is finished. The Star of Hope rises in the West and the story goes on. The Fall has ended.

Yes she loves to use pet names. She’s not super creative - babe, darling, and love are her favourites.

Riley definitely wants to settle down. Being a doctor, she’s busy a lot so she doesn’t have much time to spend with you. Getting to come home to you makes this so much easier.
