quick tweet, big problem- o.piastri

summary: you and oscar are together, but the world doesn't need to know you're engaged. lando decides they do.
pairing: oscar piastri x fem! kravitz! reader
(context in case you don't know him: ted kravitz is a skyf1 presenter)
୨ৎ⋅୨ৎ⋅୨ৎ⋅୨ৎ⋅୨ৎ⋅୨ৎ⋅
“Red flag, red flag, come in,” Tom said.
Annoyance surged through him. This race was not going his way at all. He started slowing down, following closely behind Lawson. “Who’s off?”
“Colapinto,” he explained. “It’s a big one, probably a 20 to 30 minute red flag.”
For fucks sake. Oscar had told them it was too dangerous. They didn’t listen. He paid the price. Now Max was up into p2, and Lando was stuck in p5. Oscar couldn’t even do anything to help. He grunted, getting out of the car and following Tom back to the garage.
He was ushered over to his engineers, but honestly all he wanted was to see you. Being Lando’s race engineer, Oscar had seen you around the paddock in some of his first weeks and befriended you, on top of that, he’d fallen madly in love with you and asked you out 11 months ago. You two had been going out for 11 months now, and, while he could see you between the screens as his engineers and Andrea gave him advice about the race, he kind of tuned them out, too busy staring at you.
“Jesus, loverboy, just go say hi and come back, alright? We need you thinking with your head, not your dick,” Zak scoffed, finally allowing him to see you.
Quickly, Oscar rounded the corner of the desk and wrapped his arms around your waist, resting his head on the top of yours. You didn’t stop talking to Lando, explaining the plan for the rest of the race.
“But I fucking said to stay out,” Lando whined.
“No, you told us to box you. We told you to stay out,” you explained, your voice calm.
Lando just scoffed and rolled his eyes. “Whatever,” then walked off to go brood somewhere else.
“Shitty weather, eh?” you mused.
“Awful,” he nodded.
“Is that sweat or rain?” you asked, feeling how wet he truly was.
“Both,” he sighed. He knew there were about forty cameras on the two of you. Moments between you two that the public saw were few and far between. You liked it that way. He liked it that way. Privacy was something he essentially gave up when he became a public figure, but that didn’t mean you had to. “How’s Lando doing?”
“He’s just pissed away his chance at World Champion,” you took a deep breath, leaning into him. “And I’ll be the one he screams at during the end of the race. I’ll be the one having to explain it to Zak, and I won’t get home until probably tomorrow. And my dad is staring at us.”
Oscar groaned. “Fucking hate dealing with this shit.”
You nodded. “Me too. But at least there’s no race for two weeks.”
“We’re off to Melbourne,” he reminded you. “Have to do the family rounds, since we’re engaged,” he beamed. Over the last break, Oscar had proposed. It was the happiest moment of your lives (closely followed by Oscar’s win in Baku), and now you were on your way to visit his extended family for the first time. Since he’d met most of your family (especially considering Ted Kravitz was your father and Oscar met him before he met you), it was only fair that you make the trip and meet his.
Before that though, you had to get through today.
“You’d better go chat with your engineers,” you took your hands off his. “Zak is giving me dirty looks.”
He rolled his eyes and let out an exasperated sigh. “I don’t want to.”
You chuckled. “Go,” you urged him. “If you get higher than p9 I’ll give you a kiss at the end of the race.”
“Good deal,” he pondered. “Or I could just kiss you now,” and with that, he pressed his lips to yours quickly, before running off to his side of the garage.

Lando was an idiot, but he was Oscar's idiot, so you didn't kill him. You knew it was only a matter of time before someone slipped up, whether it be your dad, you, or Oscar. You didn't suspect it would be Lando, though. You did enjoy watching Oscar shout at him though. That was pretty funny.

"If you keep staring at me like that, I'll have to ask you what are we?" Imagine being the witness of a serious crime, but the team thought you were involved somehow and needed to rule you out. Cue to big, scary, mysterious, masked Ghost trying to intimidate you by existing near you.
Soap snorts and pats Ghost on the back, which earns a glare from him, all after the man blinked confused. He had pretty eyes. Gaz moves to a corner to smile way too much, and Price sighs loudly.
After a few more minutes of explaining that you were just on your way to your shitty job and that they needed to wrap this up before you are to inevitably getting fired, Ghost still looks straight into your soul, now with more intensity somehow.
At this point, you grit your teeth. You might legit not have a job after this, since you're already half an hour late, and this (weirdly cute) fucker is trying to read your thoughts.
"Oh, you're really into me, aren't you?" He blinks seemingly uninterested and you raise a brow at him, starting a staring contest until Price (as he previously introduced himself) got in between you two.
"I don't think you understand the situation that you're in." It took all of your will to not groan like a child and roll your eyes at him.
Cue to another round of you doubling down and explaining that you're extremely lame but a good person, all while Gaz still looks you up.
"She might be telling the truth, boss." He whispered to Price in the corner of the abandoned shop they broke onto to have some privacy. The man has been trying to confirm your identity all this time, meanwhile you looked up at your number one fan to say "I told you so" and gave him an exasperated sigh when you already caught him intensely staring into your eyes.
"Seriously..." You mutter and you almost believe seeing a crinkle of amusement in his eyes. Your eyes almost twitched. "I pronounce us husband and wife." You say, rolling your eyes at him. Yeah, take that, fuck-face. You childishly thought, absolutely thriving at his slow, surprised blink. Soap cackled and tried to hide it with a cough.
Long story (not) short, you were indeed let go after Gaz confirmed you're broke, lame and basic. No secret villain or anything. After they kinda apologized, Price basically tried to gaslight you into thinking everything is fine then tried to dip his toes into mansplaining the importance of greater things beyond you, he nodded to himself and patted you on the back before barking an order to his soldiers to move. Pretty brown eyes stayed glued onto your soul until you were pretty much skipping away out of sight, rushing to your job incredibly annoyed.
You couldn't really explain your absence to your boss and he didn't care much either, he told you to get to work.
Surprise, surprise, though, because at the end of your shift, he sugarly informed you that you're fired. He gave you the pay he owed you and there you were. Jobless. And probably homeless in a month's time.
A week later and some intense job hunting done, you're at your wit's end, truly. Job market is shit and nobody is looking to hire. As you enter your ratty apartment, you sigh and almost want to cry in frustration. You've been cursing the terrorists, soldiers and any motherfucker involved in last week's incident, entering your kitchen to grab a drink and eat some air since you needed to save money, when you froze in place.
In the middle of your tiny living room stood a massive dark frame, the outside lights shining through the balcony door behind him made the man unrecognizable. You were getting robbed. You just caught a dude right in the middle of robbing you. As if it was the cherry on top, every frustration you felt erupted out of you, and while you were still terrified by the massive frame, you growled a "Get the fuck out of my house."
A deep chuckle was your only response and you felt dread.
"You got spunk. And a shit survival instinct." He stepped closer. You stepped back immediately, calculating your route to the door, hoping he wouldn't be able to catch you. Denial. You knew. But you froze again in surprise. You knew that mask.
"What the fuck are you doing in my house?" It came more of a whisper, thinking you'd never meet those people again. Even standing up in front of him, he's massive. Maybe he came back for those dumbass comments you made. Oh, this is revenge, isn't it? He's built, he can legit destroy you with a punch. Oh, God, you're fucking dead. They still think you're a terrorist or some shit and he's here to destroy you out of existence.
Your mind rambled until he moved, and when he did, you tensed, mind blank. The man, the Ghost took a couple of steps towards you and placed his large hand on the back of your neck, pulling you close. Oh, you're gonna fucking die for sure. He leaned down to your eye level, making you stare into his dark eyes as he studied you.
"Came back to take care of my wife." He said. It was your turn to slowly blink at him. What?

the sound of the storm outside was deafening, rain pelting down against the windows in sheets, lightning flickering through the darkened living room. the atmosphere inside felt as tense as the weather outside. gojo was pacing relentlessly, his usually bright and relaxed demeanor clouded over with worry. every now and then, he would glance at his phone, checking for messages or missed calls. but there was nothing—no response, no sign of where you were.
geto sat on the edge of the couch, his head in his hands, frustration and anxiety etched across his usually calm face. he let out a heavy sigh, his fingers rubbing his temples as if trying to ease the headache that had been brewing since they’d realized you weren’t home. “she should’ve been back ages ago,” he muttered, his voice barely audible above the relentless rain. “she always lets us know where she is… this isn’t like her.”
“i know,” gojo replied, his voice unusually tense. he stopped pacing for a moment, gripping the back of the couch so hard his knuckles turned white. “she promised she’d be home before the rain started. she said she was on her way,” his tone cracked slightly, the worry seeping through.
another flash of lightning illuminated the room, followed closely by a rumble of thunder that shook the windows. gojo flinched, the uncharacteristic gesture revealing just how frayed his nerves were. “if only we’d left work sooner. we could’ve went home with her,” he muttered, more to himself than to geto.
the storm outside continued to pound against the windows, the relentless rain and booming thunder doing nothing to ease the growing tension in the room. gojo watched as geto tried calling you once again, his phone pressed tightly to his ear, his brow furrowing deeper with each passing second of silence.
when the call went straight to voicemail again, geto’s frustration hit a breaking point. “where the fuck are you?” he muttered under his breath, his voice laced with a sharp edge of worry and anger. his hand clenched around his phone before he threw it onto the couch with a frustrated sigh, running his fingers through his hair.
gojo halted his pacing and looked at geto, his own worry mirrored in his friend's expression. “it’s not like her to just go silent,” he said, a nervous energy in his voice that was so out of character for him. his usual confident, carefree attitude was completely gone, replaced by an anxiety that he couldn’t shake. “she always lets us know when she’s going somewhere or if she’s late.”
geto nodded, his jaw clenched as he fought to keep his composure. “i know. and the fact that it’s her out there in this storm, alone…” he trailed off, unable to finish the thought. his hands fisted at his sides, the helplessness gnawing at him.
“satoru, do you think…” geto trailed off, the worst-case scenarios that had been racing through his mind too painful to put into words.
“don’t even go there, suguru,” gojo interrupted, his voice fierce, though his eyes betrayed the same fears. “she’s strong. she’s probably just waiting for the storm to calm down somewhere.”
his words were cut off by another flash of lightning and a clap of thunder that shook the house, causing both of them to stiffen momentarily. it was as if the storm outside was mirroring the turmoil inside, an added layer of anxiety in the already tense atmosphere.
geto took a deep, calming breath, trying to keep hold of his emotions. he straightened up and looked at gojo, determination in his eyes. “you’re right. she’s strong. she can handle herself. we can’t just sit here and worry ourselves sick.”
another loud crash of thunder shook the house, causing geto to flinch. he hated feeling this helpless, hated the tight knot of fear twisting in dis chest. he glanced at gojo, who was biting his thumb, lost in his thoughts. despite their differences, they were both on the same page now—both terrified of the possibility of losing you.
just then, they heard a faint noise—a car door slamming shut. both of them sprang to their feet, their hearts pounding in unison as they rushed to the window. through the heavy rain, they could make out your figure, drenched but alive, struggling to carry what looked like a a big box. relief washed over them, but it was quickly replaced by a mix of irritation and concern.
geto and gojo exchanged a glance, their expressions mirroring each other. “what the hell is she carrying?” geto muttered, his annoyance evident as he made his way toward the door.
gojo followed close behind. “and why the hell did she come home in this weather?”
they both stepped outside, the cold rain lashing at their faces, as they hurried towards your figure. their eyes narrowed, taking in the sight of you struggling with the heavy box in your arms.
geto reached you first, the rain soaking through his clothes as he approached. “are you insane?” his voice was sharp, laced with a mixture of relief and anger. “what the hell were you thinking coming home in this storm—and what is that?"”
gojo joined him, looking equally worried and frustrated. gojo caught up, his arms crossed as he took in the scene. “and what’s in the box? you better have a damn good explanation for all of this.” they grip your shoulder, pulling you into the house.
you couldn’t help but laugh at the sight of both geto and gojo’s faces as they stood dripping wet, eyes wide in shock and mouths slightly agape. you adjusted the heavy box in your arms, a fucking fat raccoon inside peeking out with curious eyes. “look what i found!” you exclaimed excitedly, completely oblivious to the scratches on your face and the mud staining your clothes. “it was just wandering, isn’t it cute?”
the rain continued its relentless assault, soaking through geto and gojo's clothes and causing their hair to stick to their faces as they looked at you in disbelief. their initial relief was quickly replaced by a mixture of annoyance and worry, their brows furrowed as they took in your soaked appearance and the scratches on your face.
geto’s expression darkened, his eyebrows furrowed as he looked down at your face. “cute?” he sputtered incredulously. “you went out in this storm for a raccoon? you’re bleeding and muddy as hell!”
gojo, less composed, stared at you with a mix of shock and anger. “and didn’t you think to call or text us, genius? we’ve been going out of our minds worried!”
your smile faltered slightly as you looked down at your muddy shoes, realizing just how much trouble you might’ve caused. “i couldn’t just leave it there,” you mumbled, glancing up at them through your wet lashes. “it was all alone, and I thought… i thought i could bring it here until it’s safe to release it.”
geto ran a hand through his wet hair, exasperated. “did you even think about the possible danger? bringing a wild animal into our home—”
“not just any animal,” gojo interrupted, “a damn raccoon. it could have diseases, or rabies. jesus, you’re smarter than this—”
geto shot him a look, but gojo ignored it, his eyes fixated on you.
“and look at you,” gojo continued, his voice stern. “do you know how worried we were? how much trouble you could have gotten in? or, even worse, how dangerous it could have been?”
geto nodded in agreement, his arms crossed over his chest. “you’re not a little girl anymore, baby,” he added quietly. “you have to start thinking things through.”
you glanced back and forth between your two concerned boyfriends, feeling like a child caught doing something they knew was wrong. their genuine worry and concern were evident, but so was their frustration. the raccoon in the box seemed to sense the tension, letting out a small squeak as it shifted uncomfortably.
you took a step backward, clutching the box tightly, feeling the weight of the heavy creature inside. “i know it was reckless,” you admitted, your voice quiet. “i just... i didn’t think. i saw it and...” you trailed off, your gaze lowering.
geto let out a heavy sigh, the tension in his shoulders softening just a bit. gojo scrubbed a hand over his face, his anger slowly giving way to worry and relief.
geto crossed his arms again, a small frown still on his lips. “well, you thought wrong,” he said firmly. “there’s a reason we keep telling you not to do things like this.” a moment of silence passed before gojo cleared his throat. “where the hell did you find it, anyway?” he asked.
you looked up at them through your lashes, swallowing nervously as their combined stares bore into you. you knew they’d be upset—more than upset. biting your lip, you hesitated, the weight of their worry settling heavily on your shoulders.
in your arms, the raccoon blinked up at them with wide, innocent eyes, seemingly oblivious to the tension filling the room. you glanced down at the little creature, which gave a tiny squeak, as if in solidarity, and you almost felt braver because of it.
“where did you find it?” gojo repeated, his tone softer but his eyes still sharp.
you mumbled, “... at school,” barely loud enough for them to hear.
“at school?” geto repeated, his arms crossing even tighter as he took a step closer. his voice was calm, but you could sense the frustration simmering beneath it. “we told you to come home right after class. and instead, you went off chasing… a raccoon?”
“it was stranded and soaking wet in the woods,” you explained, clutching the raccoon a little tighter, trying to make your point. “it didn’t have anyone else.”
gojo stared down at you, his eyes flashing. “so you were out there by yourself, in the storm, all because of a wild animal that could have had a million diseases? or attacked you?” his fists tightened as he spoke, his concern evident in his tone.
geto’s jaw tightened, his frown deepening as he listened to your explanation. gojo’s expression was a mix of concern and anger, his eyes never leaving your face.
“and you decided that it was your responsibility to play hero and bring it home? do you have any idea what could have happened to you?” geto asked, his voice quiet but laced with concern.
geto watched you with a mix of worry and resignation. he understood your soft heart, your need to help and care for others, but the recklessness of your actions was weighing on him. “we’ve always told you not to just run off without telling us,” he said finally, his hands on his hips.
you felt yourself shrink under their intense stares, their frustration washing over you in waves. still, you couldn’t let go of the raccoon in your arms, the tiny creature nestled against you as if it understood your need for comfort.
“i… i couldn’t just leave it out there,” you mumbled, voice growing quieter with each word as their gazes bore into you. “what if it got hurt?”
you looked down at the raccoon, still struggling to hold the box with its fat body, your fingers gently stroking its damp fur, remembering how helpless it looked huddled outside in the storm. “it was like… like it was asking me to take it home,” you added in a small voice, hoping they’d understand.
gojo let out a frustrated huff, crossing his arms tightly. “woman, you’re not a goddamn snow white,” he shot back, his tone sharp. “you can’t just waltz around talking to animals, thinking they’ll magically be safe with you.” his words stung a little, but you knew his anger was coming from a place of deep concern.
you felt the sting of their words as you stood there, drenched and feeling smaller by the second. your excitement quickly dwindled, replaced by the heavy weight of guilt. you couldn’t bring yourself to meet their eyes, instead focusing on the raccoon in the box. it looked up at you with its big, confused eyes, almost like it was wondering why everyone was so upset.
gojo noticed your silence and the way your shoulders slumped forward, and a flicker of remorse crossed his face. geto, too, softened slightly at the sight of you looking so small and vulnerable.
but the worry and anger in their hearts only grew.
“how could you be so careless?” geto finally spoke up, his tone still frustrated, but quieter than before. “we’ve trusted you to make responsible decisions, and you go and do something like this...”
gojo sighed, running a hand through his wet hair again. “you need to understand the gravity of your actions,” he said, his voice firm. “not just for your safety, but for ours too. we care about you, goddamn it. we worry about you—”
geto chimed in, cutting gojo off mid-sentence. “you scared us,” he admitted, his voice cracking slightly. “we thought something had happened to you. and then we found you, soaked and bleeding, with a damn raccoon in your arms.”
the room grew heavy with silence for a few moments as your boyfriends took a moment to collect themselves. the raccoon let out another squeak from the box, almost as if it sensed the tension in the room, and you reached a hand down to pet it gently. it nuzzled closer to your fingers, seeking comfort in its own way.
the weight of gojo’s words hung in the air, heavier than the silence that had settled between you all. as you reached down to soothe the frightened raccoon, gojo’s hand shot out, gently but firmly smacking yours away. “don’t pet it,” he said, his voice harsher than he likely intended, a frown deepening on his face. “it could be carrying diseases, rabies—who knows what. why are you acting so careless?”
his words stung, each one landing with a sting that made you shrink back a little. “you’re a grown woman,” he added, his tone hard. “you should act like it.” the reprimand, though unintentional, echoed in the room, making you feel smaller under his stern gaze. you could see the frustration in his eyes, the fear that had fueled his reaction, but it didn’t make the words hurt any less.
geto noticed the look on your face and gently placed a hand on gojo’s shoulder, urging him to take a deep breath. “satoru,” he said quietly, his tone calm but firm, and gojo’s expression softened, a flicker of regret crossing his face.
gojo looked at geto, then back at you, the frustration in his face slowly melting away. he let out a heavy sigh, his shoulders slumping a bit. “i’m sorry, baby,” he said, his voice less sharp now. “i didn’t mean to snap. i was just… scared. worried sick.”
their voices were starting to blur together, and you could feel a flicker of annoyance growing inside you. you knew they were worried, but the way they were going on and on, like you were some reckless child, started to rub you the wrong way.
without another word, you turned on your heel, your grip tightening on the box. you didn’t bother looking up, your eyes fixed stubbornly on the raccoon who seemed to be your only ally in that moment. you could feel both of their eyes on you as you brushed past them, your shoulder knocking against one of them—honestly, you didn’t even care which one.
they fell silent, stunned as you stormed off towards the bathroom near the living room. you slammed the door behind you, the loud bang echoing through the house. for a moment, you just stood there, your heart racing as you leaned against the door, staring down at the raccoon who was now peeking up at you from the box, almost like it was asking if you were okay.
“great,” you mumbled to the little creature, your voice shaky with frustration. “now we’re both in trouble.”
you took a deep breath, trying to calm yourself as you heard the faint murmur of geto and gojo’s voices from the other side of the door, still clearly upset. you knew they meant well, but right now, you just needed a moment to yourself, away from their scolding and the overwhelming mix of guilt and annoyance swirling inside you.
you glanced at your reflection in the bathroom mirror, the scratches and dirt on your face standing out starkly under the harsh light. “looks like we’re both a mess, huh?” you said softly to the raccoon, who just blinked at you with those big, innocent eyes, as if it didn’t have a care in the world. you let out a bitter laugh, feeling a tiny bit of your frustration melt away, though the sting of their words still lingered.
the bathroom was cold and bright, and you shivered a little as the wet fabric of your clothes clung to your skin. the raccoon, seemingly more interested in exploration than the tension, poked its head over the edge of the box, its wet fur matted down and its dark, beady eyes looking up at you.
gojo and geto’s voices could be heard from the living room, their murmurs audible through the door. you could make out bits and pieces of the conversation, the words “careless” and “thoughtless” reaching your ears.
gojo and geto stood in the hallway, the sound of the bathroom door slamming echoed through the silent house. they exchanged looks, both equally frustrated. gojo ran a hand through his hair again, sighing loudly.
“great,” he muttered, his tone sarcastic. “she’s mad at us now.”
geto scowled, leaning against the wall. “can you blame her?” he snapped. “we just went on and on about her actions. she probably feels like a damn kid getting scolded.”
gojo shot him a glare. “she acted like a damn kid. what was she even thinking, going out in the storm for a raccoon?”
geto’s jaw clenched. “but she brought the damn thing back here. it’s not like she was careless with its life. just ours.” gojo cursed under his breath, looking in the direction of the bathroom where you were. the sound of your voice, talking to the raccoon, was clear even through the closed door.
gojo crossed his arms, leaning against the wall as he tried to ignore the twinge of guilt building in his chest. he looked up at geto, who was still looking in the direction of the bathroom, a frown on to his face.
gojo sighed, his expression softening slightly. “i know, i just...” he ran a hand through his hair again, a nervous habit he couldn’t quite shake. “i can’t help but worry about her. it’s like, the second she’s out of my sight, i start imagining all the ways something could go wrong.”
gojo and geto stood there, tension thick between them as they listened to the faint sound of water running from the bathroom. through the door, they could hear your muffled voice, and it didn’t take long to realize you were talking to the raccoon.
“you know, those two idiots think they know everything,” your voice drifted out, laced with annoyance and frustration. “like, seriously? they don’t get it. it’s just a little rain, and they’re acting like i brought a lion home or something.”
gojo let out a dry scoff, crossing his arms tightly over his chest. “she’s really in there talking shit about us to a raccoon,” he said, rolling his eyes. “unbelievable.”
geto couldn’t help but smirk a little, despite the lingering irritation. “yeah, well, at least she’s not yelling at us directly,” he muttered, though there was a hint of amusement in his voice. “guess the raccoon’s a better listener than we are.”
gojo huffed, shoving his hands in his pockets. “yeah, maybe we should start taking advice from the damn raccoon. at least it can’t talk back.”
geto laughed at that, shaking his head. “you have a point there. might be easier to deal with than a stubborn girl, huh?”
gojo looked at geto, a small smile playing at his lips despite his mood. “yeah, well, that stubborn girl is one of ours. and, as annoying as she can be...” his expression softened, his voice trailing off.
as gojo and geto leaned against the wall, their frustration slowly ebbing away. the tension in the air had noticeably lightened, the sound of your voice still drifting out from the bathroom, now with a different tone, softer and more soothing.
gojo’s shoulders relaxed, his scowl softening slightly into a half-smile as he glanced back towards the bathroom. “you know,” he said, looking over at geto, “she always tries to see the best in everything, even if she’s being an idiot about it sometimes.”
sitting on the cold of the bathtub, you hugged your knees close, letting out a sigh that rippled through the quiet bathroom. the soft warmth of the water surrounding you barely eased the sting of gojo’s words or geto’s exasperated looks, and you couldn’t help but vent a little. glancing down, you saw the raccoon sitting by the pool of warm water, eyeing you with a strange, almost sympathetic curiosity.
“can you believe them?” you muttered, resting your chin on your knees as you looked at the little creature. “they’re acting like i’m some kind of helpless kid. like i don’t know what i’m doing.” the raccoon cocked its head as if considering your words, and you couldn’t help but smile at its curious, wide-eyed gaze.
“i mean, yeah, i got caught in the rain,” you continued, your voice softer, almost pouting. “but it’s not like i was trying to make them worry. i just couldn’t leave you out there.” the raccoon gave a soft chitter, and you reached down to stroke its damp fur gently, finding a bit of comfort in its small warmth.
“they act like i’m clueless,” you went on, feeling the need to get it all out, even if your only audience was a stray animal. “i get it—they were scared, i know. but i’m not some dumb kid. i know what i was doing.”
another huff escaped you, your cheeks warming slightly as you remembered gojo’s frustrated sigh, his tone that was harsher than usual. it had hit deep, despite knowing he hadn’t really meant to be that way. maybe it was their worry, tangled up in anger, but it was hard to shake off.
you let out a long sigh and leaned back, mumbling under your breath to the raccoon. “maybe it’s their problem if they’re gonna worry so much over every little thing. it’s not like i’d do something reckless…” you trailed off, a small, rueful smile pulling at your lips as you glanced at your dripping clothes in a heap beside you.
just as you were about to continue your quiet rant, you heard a soft knock on the door, followed by gojo’s voice, a bit softer than before, “hey, you okay in there? the raccoon giving you better advice than us?”
you rolled your eyes, letting out a low sigh and glancing back down at the raccoon, who seemed perfectly content in its cozy little spot by the warm water. “can you believe these guys?“ you muttered, ignoring gojo’s voice from the other side of the door. “like i really need their advice on what to do. i’ve got this all under control.”
the raccoon looked up at you with those round, trusting eyes, as if it were your little confidante in this moment. a smirk tugged at the corner of your mouth. “exactly. they just don’t get it,” you whispered to the animal, reaching out to stroke its damp fur.
gojo leaned against the door, his arms crossed over his chest, as he listened to you talking to the raccoon. A conflicted expression crossed his face as he listened to you, your words a mix of hurt, frustration, and something else he couldn't quite place.
he shifted on his feet, a frown on his face, and knocked again, a little louder this time. “are you going to come out of there? or are you going to keep talking to the raccoon? it might start charging you for therapy at this rate.”
geto let out a snort, his annoyance quickly replaced by laughter. “oh yeah, i wonder how the raccoon is reacting to that little rant.”
gojo bit back a smile. “bet it’s just sitting there nodding, pretending to be a good listener,” he responded, trying to keep his composure. “probably thinking ‘this girl is crazier than them.’”
geto couldn’t help but grin at the mental image of you talking to the raccoon like it was your therapist. “i can already see it,” he joked. “the raccoon’s probably giving her better advice than we ever will.”
you glanced down at the raccoon, who blinked back at you with wide, curious eyes, and muttered under your breath, “can you believe those two? who do they think they are, acting like my dad and trying to scold me?” your voice was soft but laced with annoyance, and you could’ve sworn the raccoon tilted its head, almost as if agreeing.
“if they didn’t get on my nerves so much…” you paused, a sly smirk creeping onto your lips as you muttered, “i’d probably kiss them. especially that albino guy.” you rolled your eyes, thinking of gojo’s pale hair and smug face. he was always half a second away from annoying you into oblivion, but somehow, that just made him all the more irresistible.
the raccoon, as if it understood your dilemma, gave a tiny squeak and nuzzled closer. “exactly,” you whispered to it. “they’re the ones who keep acting like they run my life, and then wonder why i get frustrated.”
you could hear faint laughter from the other side of the door, geto and gojo clearly amused at whatever mental image they had of you venting to a raccoon. “they’re having way too much fun out there,” you grumbled, casting a sideways look at the door. but part of you couldn’t shake the warmth in your chest. as much as they annoyed you, their concern was something you couldn’t ignore—even if they were the world’s most overprotective idiots.
gojo stood outside the door, his expression shifting between amusement and slight concern. he knew your frustration was justified, but he also couldn’t help but smile at the absurdity of the situation. you, venting to a damn raccoon, while they were stuck out here, waiting for you to come out and talk to them.
as he leaned against the door, he glanced back at geto, who was also having a hard time keeping a straight face. gojo’s voice was a low murmur as he spoke, his tone a mix of amusement and understanding. “she’s really not taking this well, is she?”
geto let out a soft chuckle, his purple eyes gleaming with warmth as he looked over at gojo, clearly amused but also filled with affection. “you know how she is,” he murmured, shaking his head slightly. “everything’s gotta be some grand, dramatic moment. it’s like living with a walking soap opera.” his voice held a gentle fondness that softened his words, showing he loved every bit of your theatrical tendencies.
he leaned on his side against the wall, crossing his arms with a small smile tugging at his lips. “she’s probably in there, giving the raccoon the speech of the century, like it’s her co-star in some tragic, misunderstood romance.”
gojo snorted, though a faint smile played on his lips as well. “wouldn’t put it past her to actually start acting out a scene,” he replied, his tone both teasing and fond. “and of course, we’re the villains in her story.”
geto rolled his eyes, nudging gojo with his elbow. “yeah, but we’re her villains,” he said, his voice softening as he gazed at the bathroom door. “and if she wants us to sit here and play along with her soap opera, then… well, i guess we’re in for the whole show.”
the two of them shared a quiet, knowing look. they might tease you endlessly about your dramatic antics, but they wouldn’t trade any part of you—mood swings, raccoon rescues, or frustrated rants—for the world.
the sound of water sloshing softly in the tub as you shifted in the water broke the momentary silence between you and the raccoon. another sigh escaped your lips, this one even quieter than the last.
you looked down at the raccoon, who seemed to be listening intently, its wide, beady eyes fixed on yours. “maybe they’re right, though,” you mused, your tone a mix of frustration and resignation. “maybe i really am just being reckless, not thinking things through. i can be a lot sometimes.”
the raccoon chittered quietly, almost as if in response. as they stood there, the faint sound of your frustrated groan came from inside the bathroom, followed by the soft splash of water.
“ugh, you’re useless,” they heard you mutter to the raccoon, your voice edged with irritation. “can’t even help me with this mess. just sitting there, looking cute, while i’m stuck with those two idiots.”
gojo’s lip quirked into a wry smile at the sound of your frustrated comment, though it was tinged with affection. “sounds like the raccoon didn’t give the advice she was hoping for,” he said to geto, amusement in his voice.
geto chuckled, shaking his head slightly. “maybe he’s just good at listening without offering solutions,” he replied, his tone light. “she’s probably just projecting because she didn’t get the grand epiphany she was hoping for.”
gojo chuckled, shaking his head as he called through the door. “baby, i’m coming in.” without waiting for a response, he opened the door and stepped inside. his gaze softened when he saw you in the bathtub. the sight made his heart ache just a bit—there you were, knees hugged to your chest, your face half-hidden, looking all small and defiant with the raccoon settled in front of you. despite the warm water around your legs, you shivered lightly, and his frown deepened, especially when he noticed you absentmindedly petting the raccoon’s back.
“hey,” he said, voice soft but firm as he stepped closer. “i told you—don’t pet that thing. who knows what it’s carrying.” he eyed the raccoon with a mixture of curiosity and mild irritation. But the creature simply stared back at him with round, black eyes, like little boba pearls, almost innocently.
gojo’s frown intensified as he took in the raccoon’s round shape. “why is it so… fat?” he muttered, utterly baffled. “isn’t this supposed to be a wild animal? how’s it getting so chubby?”
he glanced at you, suspicious but amused, his arms crossing over his chest. “you sure you didn’t find this thing at someone’s house instead of the wild? it looks like it’s been eating better than me.”
you shot gojo a glare, your lips drawn into a tight line. “i did not steal someone’s pet raccoon,” you retorted, your tone bristling with annoyance. “it’s a wild animal. i found it outside during the storm, cold and wet. it was shivering—it needed help.”
geto appeared in the doorway, peeking over gojo’s shoulder, and when he saw the round little raccoon, he couldn’t help but laugh. “looks like you picked the laziest scavenger out there,” he teased, nudging gojo with his elbow. “maybe it’s been making the rounds in the trash, or maybe it found someone as soft-hearted as you to sneak it snacks.”
gojo raised an eyebrow at you, his expression a blend of suspicion and affection. “you haven’t been feeding it, right?” he asked, crossing his arms with a slight smirk. “i’m just saying—this guy’s looking way too well-fed to be surviving on his own.”
you shot gojo a glare, your frown deepening as you turned your attention back to the raccoon. its big, shiny eyes stared up at you, and in your heart, you felt like it understood every word of gojo’s harsh critique. gojo’s insulted it, calling it fat, and now it looked at you with what you imagined was a pleading, almost wounded expression.
“no, satoru, i didn’t feed him... yet,” you retorted with so much sassy, leaning down and gently covering the raccoon’s ears with your hands, as if to protect it from any further slander. “and he’s not fat. you’re fat,” you shot back, eyebrows knit together.
gojo and geto exchanged a quick look, both of them fighting back laughter at your defense of the raccoon. you were so fiercely protective, even of a little, pudgy animal you’d just met. it was both endearing and utterly ridiculous.
gojo cleared his throat, trying to hide his amusement behind an exaggerated scowl. “okay, alright, we didn’t mean to insult his pride. but seriously, baby. that raccoon’s been living the good life, if it’s not a pet.”
geto chuckled, leaning against the doorway, his arms crossed over his chest. gojo’s arms, too, crossed over his chest as he watches you with a soft smile on his face, “and for the record, my love, i’m in peak physical condition. unlike this round, fluffy little raccoon who's been living it up on your good nature.”
he leaned against the bathroom wall, watching as you continued to defend the raccoon. “and sure,” he said dryly, “tell me it’s not getting fat when it can barely fit through that window over there. look at it—it's like a furry little bowling ball.”
you gasped, eyes widening in mock offense as you turned to gojo. “satoruuu!” you whined, drawing out his name with a pout, clutching the raccoon a little closer as if to shield it from gojo’s unrelenting insults.
then, without missing a beat, you shot a look over to geto, silently begging him to step in and say something in defense of your newfound friend. your eyes held a mixture of frustration and that playful helplessness, almost like you were saying, “do something.”
geto moved in closer, his chuckle soft and warm, creating an inviting atmosphere as he crouched down beside the tub, his eyes lighting up as he looked at the pudgy raccoon nestled in your arms. his fingers gently stroked the animal’s fluffy back, a gentle caress that seemed to soothe both the raccoon and you. you watched the interaction, your heart melting slightly at the sight of your boyfriends bonding over this unexpected guest.
turning back to gojo, geto’s amused smile widened. “you do know not all raccoons are the same, don’t you?” he teased, his tone light and filled with mirth. “some just happen to be a bit more round than others.” his eyes sparkled with humor, and gojo rolled his eyes, but a smile tugged at his lips despite himself.
then, geto’s attention shifted back to you. he noticed the pout on your lips, the way your eyebrows knitted together in defiance, and it brought a fondness to his expression. a soft smile crept onto his face as he reached up to pat the top of your head, his hand warm and comforting against your damp hair. “hey, you know we care about you, right?” he asked, his voice dropping to a tender whisper.
his gaze lingered on your face, taking in the pink flush on your cheeks from the cold water and the storm outside. “we got mad earlier because we worry. we care so much about you that we can’t stand seeing you hurt.” his tone was serious, but the gentleness in his voice wrapped around you like a warm blanket, easing some of your stubbornness.
he glanced briefly at the raccoon before turning back to you, his expression softening even further. “i know you care about this little thing,” he continued, a hint of concern entering his voice. “but it’s not a pet. it could be dangerous for you, and we don’t want that. we don’t want you catching any diseases from wild animals.” his words hung in the air, a mixture of concern and protectiveness that resonated deeply within you.
as you processed what he said, geto’s gaze remained fixed on you, watching for your reaction. he could see the reluctance in your eyes, the internal struggle between your affection for the raccoon and the logical reasoning behind his words. with a gentle firmness, he added, “we will call animal control, and that’s the end of the discussion.”
the way he said it was calm yet resolute, showing he wouldn’t waver on this point, but the kindness in his eyes made it clear that he wasn’t trying to dismiss your feelings. instead, he was looking out for you, and you could feel that deep down.
you sighed, the weight of the situation pressing on you as you glanced at the raccoon, then back at geto, feeling the warmth of his hand still resting on your head, grounding you.
you opened your mouth, eyes wide and pleading as you looked up at geto, grasping for one last solution. “we could take it to the vet first, y’know,” you suggested, your voice laced with a mixture of hope and determination.
but before geto could even consider your request, gojo’s voice cut in sharply. “no.” his tone was firm, all traces of his usual playfulness replaced with a serious edge that made you pause. his arms remained crossed, his posture resolute as he looked down at you, his expression softened but unyielding. “this is the end of the discussion.”
you frowned, surprised by his uncharacteristic firmness, and a small pout formed on your lips as you tried to hold your ground. but gojo didn’t budge, his gaze steady and unwavering, showing you that he wasn’t going to compromise on this, even if he usually gave in to your whims.
you looked up at geto, your eyes filled with a silent, pleading look that you knew he couldn’t usually resist. you gave him your best hopeful expression, the one that always seemed to melt his resolve just a little. but this time, instead of caving, he let out a soft sigh, his gaze steady yet sympathetic.
“no,” he said gently, his tone unwavering. he gave your head a soft pat, his fingers brushing through your hair as if to soften the blow. “as much as i’d like to give in to that look, it’s still a no. it’s just not safe to keep him here.”
gojo, who had been watching the entire exchange with his arms still crossed, let out an approving hum, clearly glad to see geto sticking to his stance. he offered you a small, sympathetic smile, but there was no give in his expression either. “he’s right, love. we’re just looking out for you,” he said, his tone softening just a little.
you sighed, glancing back at the raccoon who looked up at you with those big, round eyes, almost as if he understood the situation. you muttered a quiet, disappointed “fine,” though it was clear the decision still stung a bit. geto gave your head another comforting pat.
the three of you settled into the cozy warmth of the bedroom, geto sat on the edge of the couch, carefully drying your hair with a hair dryer, his touch gentle yet thorough. you sat cross-legged on the carpeted floor, a fresh set of warm clothes now covering you, and across from you, the raccoon was nestled in a towel, its round body snug as you softly dabbed at its fur to help keep it warm.
gojo, lying on his side in front of you, had his head propped up on one hand, his other arm stretched lazily across the carpet. his gaze was locked onto you, a trace of amusement lingering in his expression as he watched you tend to your unlikely new friend with such fierce dedication.
you let out a small huff, still pouting from earlier. looking down at the raccoon with a sympathetic frown, you muttered, “i’m sorry, little guy, you had to meet someone with a heart as black as… the blackest black.” you gave gojo a pointed look, clearly directing the comment at him.
gojo snickered in response to your comment, his eyes glinting with amusement as he arched an eyebrow. “hey, i just care about you,” he retorted, a playful smile tugging at his lips. “and you have to admit, that raccoon is a real tubby one.”
he reached out and gave the raccoon's round body a subtle poke, earning another disapproving look from you. sighing, you shook your head.
you sighed, rolling your eyes as you tried to ignore the teasing glint in gojo’s eyes. “shut up,” you muttered, giving him an exasperated look. “you’re not funny.”
gojo’s grin only widened, clearly enjoying the fact that he was getting under your skin. “oh, come on, admit it—just a little funny?” he poked the raccoon’s round belly again, as if proving his point, and it looked up at you with what could only be described as mild raccoon annoyance.
you placed a protective hand over the raccoon, shielding it from gojo’s prodding fingers as you glared at him. “leave him alone, satoru,” you said firmly. “you’re just jealous because he’s way cuter than you.”
at that, geto let out a chuckle from behind you, and gojo feigned a look of betrayal, his hand coming to his chest in mock offense. “jealous of a raccoon?” he scoffed, shaking his head in disbelief. “not a chance.” but the playful spark in his eyes gave him away, and you knew he was just trying to rile you up.
but you simply huffed, holding your ground. “whatever helps you sleep at night,” you replied, still shielding your furry friend from any more of gojo’s antics.
gojo chuckled, his expression amused as he observed you fussing over the raccoon. he rolled his eyes, his voice dripping with sarcastic sympathy as he teased you further. “oh, woe is me. how will i ever match the cuteness of a fat little raccoon, eh?”
he playfully feigned distress, dramatically flinging his arm over his forehead, clearly enjoying this little back-and-forth. “i guess i'll just have to resort to using my charming personality and undeniable wit to win your heart, then,” he said with a dramatic sigh, giving you a playful wink.
you gave gojo a look of exaggerated disgust, wrinkling your nose at him. “freak,” you muttered, shaking your head with mock disdain.
gojo's dramatic pout only deepened, clearly playing along as he clutched his chest, pretending to be wounded. “oh, the cruelty,” he groaned. “my love, betrayed by her affection for a chubby raccoon!”
rolling your eyes, you turned away from him and focused on the raccoon instead. gently touching its tiny paw, you leaned in and murmured, “ignore that guy, he’s just… weird.” the raccoon looked up at you with those big, round eyes, and you could’ve sworn it seemed to understand, its tiny hand clasping around your finger as if in agreement.
behind you, geto snickered, but you kept your attention on your new furry friend, tuning out his playful antics.
as you showered the raccoon with affection, stroking his soft fur and giving him little scratches, gojo couldn’t help but feel a twinge of envy—not for the attention the raccoon was getting (though that was definitely a factor), but for the way you were so effortlessly affectionate. he had a knack for being playful and teasing, and he loved bantering with you, but there was something about your soft, gentle side that he secretly adored.
he watched you with your new friend, genuinely admiring the way you interacted with the little guy. but there was no way he’d admit it. as you continued to shower the raccoon with gentle scratches and murmurs of affection, you couldn’t help but whisper, just loud enough for both geto and gojo to hear, “they’re so cruel… separating me from you.”
you sighed dramatically, running your fingers along the raccoon’s fur as it leaned into your touch, seeming perfectly content. without even looking at them, you could sense gojo and geto exchanging looks, probably fighting back smiles.
“you’re my only friend in this cold, heartless world,” you continued in a soft, woeful tone, earning a snicker from gojo as he nudged you with his foot.
gojo chuckled, teasingly scooting closer to you and poking your cheek. “oh, the drama queen strikes again,” he chimed in, his tone light and playful. he couldn’t help but relish this lighter side of your banter, appreciating the little moments of silliness you shared.
geto grinned warmly, his playful demeanor never far beneath the surface, even in these quieter moments. “i swear, one day you’ll realize that we are actually quite lovable, you know,” he mused, a hint of challenge in his voice, goading you to argue against that statement.
the three of you stood by the door, you felt a heavy wave of disappointment wash over you, watching the raccoon being carried off by animal control. your shoulders slumped, and your lips tugged downward into a deep pout as you raised a hand to give one last, pitiful wave.
“goodbye, my fluffy friend,” you called out dramatically, voice filled with exaggerated sadness. “i’ll never forget you!” gojo tightened his hold on your waist, his hand firm as he gently but decisively kept you in place, rolling his eyes. “alright, alright,” he muttered, unable to hide a faint smile. “you’re acting like you just lost a lifelong pet.”
your pout deepened as you looked up at him, sighing dramatically. “he could’ve been my lifelong pet, if it weren’t for you two.”
geto, standing on your other side with his hands in his pockets, simply shook his head, his gaze warm but resolute. “it’s for the best, you know that,” he said softly, his calm tone filled with an affection that softened the blow. “we just don’t want you getting hurt, alright?”
you let out a long, exaggerated sigh, leaning back slightly into gojo’s hold as you gave one last forlorn look toward the raccoon being taken away. “i hope you find a home as wonderful as the one we could’ve shared,” you whispered wistfully.
gojo chuckled, shaking his head as he gently nudged you. “come on, drama queen, let's get you inside before you make us adopt a whole zoo.”
you pouted, but didn’t protest further, leaning into gojo’s arms in defeat. “i just hope he finds someone who loves him as much as i could have,” you muttered, your voice soft and sad as you watched the raccoon disappear from view.
geto put an arm around your shoulder, gently nudging you towards the warmth of the house. “oh, you'll find another one to dote on soon enough,” he teased, his tone light but filled with affection. “but for now, let's get you back to the real world.”
you sighed, shoulders slumping as you murmured a soft, “alright,” letting go of the last thread of resistance. with a defeated pout still on your face, you allowed geto and gojo to guide you back inside, their warmth a silent comfort.
leaning into gojo’s chest, you felt him press a gentle kiss to the top of your head, his hand resting protectively on your back. the affection behind his gesture made you feel both comforted and exhausted, a soft wave of tiredness settling over you now that the raccoon had gone.
gojo’s hand rubbed slow circles on your back, sensing the way your energy had drained, and he whispered softly, “are you tired?” his voice held a tinge of guilt, as if he regretted making you let go of your little friend.
you nodded, your eyes half-lidded as you sank further into his chest. “yeah… just a little,” you admitted, voice barely above a murmur.
gojo hummed in acknowledgment, a soft smile spreading across his face as he processed your tired response. leaning down, he pressed another gentle kiss to your forehead before murmuring, “let’s get you to bed.”
with that, he effortlessly scooped you up into his arm, wrapping one strong arm around your thighs, holding you securely against him. instinctively, you wrapped your arms around his shoulders, seeking comfort as you nestled your head against his warm shoulder.
the familiar scent of him—like fresh linen and something uniquely gojo—wrapped around you, making your heart flutter. as he carried you through the house, you felt the warmth radiating from his body, easing some of the lingering sadness from earlier.
“you know,” he said playfully, glancing down at you as he walked, “if that raccoon had stayed, he wouldn’t have gotten this kind of treatment. you’re too spoiled for your own good.”
you leaned against him, humming in mild protest, though your weariness quickly won out over any desire to argue. your voice came out soft and quiet, an exhaustion tinged with affection. “am not...” you murmured, your words almost lost to a delicate yawn that followed.
gojo's arms tightened around you as he settled you comfortably against his chest, his gaze warm as he glanced down at your sleepy expression, a soft smile on his lips. “oh, but you are,” he teased, his tone light and affectionate.
“you just can't resist being spoiled,” he whispered, leaning in to press a tender kiss to your cheek, a soft reassurance that his teasing was nothing more than lighthearted affection. as he carried you, his steps were slow and steady, a gentle dance that seemed to rock you closer and closer to the land of dreams.
the warmth of his embrace, the rhythm of his heartbeat against your own, it all lulled you into a state of tranquil comfort, your eyelids heavy. with a murmured hum of contentment, you let yourself sink further into him, his presence becoming a soothing anchor amidst the growing drowsiness.

summary: you've always had a thing for JJ, but your relationship with Rafe has always been intense—heated and frustrating. The two of you are bound by similar trauma and can't deny that your hate for each other might not be hate after all.

<3
The morning light filters softly through the blinds, a faint warmth settling over the room, but all you feel is a prickling sense of guilt inching up your spine. Getting involved with Rafe was never a good idea but last night the two of you finally crossed a line. You glance over at Rafe, his breathing even, the rise and fall of his chest calm and steady. His expression is neutral, a harsh contradiction to his usual tense jaw and frustrated scowl. You can’t help but remember the way he was looking at you just hours before—intense, irritated, hungry, like you’d driven him into a maddened haze where he saw nothing else but you.
You take a deep breath, laying back to stare at the ceiling, tracing the patterns in the plaster with your eyes. What were you thinking? What the fuck were you thinking? You hooked up with Rafe Cameron, the man you who you’ve been tip-toeing around for ages but the same man who fucks any living thing. But this isn’t just a fling, it never could be. You knew he would be trouble from the moment you met him—catching your eye from across the beach with a grin that was way too charming and a polo shirt hugging him in a way that made your head spin.
Fuck.
You feel a knot in your stomach. You aren’t that stupid, you made your own choices and dug your own grave. You hate it though. You hate him. And worse, you hate yourself—for being so reckless, and wanting more.
Quietly, you swing your legs over the side of the bed, your feet hitting the cool floor. The cold jolts up your legs, grounding you to reality as you hastily get dress, heart pounding with every movement—but you can’t even make it to the door.
“Where are you going?” he asks, his voice still thick with sleep.
“Don’t do that.” you reply, your voice steadier than you feel. He can’t say anything when you know he probably regrets it more than you. You’re a Pogue, he’s a Kook, it’s goes beyond that fact that you both gave in, he shouldn’t be with you.
“Don’t do what?” he shoots back, his brows furrowing as he reaches for his a pair of shorts, “I hope you know last night didn’t mean anything.” He adds, but the way his gaze shifts suggest he’s still thinking about it, though.
“Wow, charming as always, Rafe.” you retort, sarcasm dripping from your voice.
“Just calling it like it is.” he says, throwing his shorts on lazily as he stands, towering over you, his presence making you feel small. Though, you have to admit, he’s still a piece of fucking eye candy.
You clench your jaw, “You’re so fucking difficult.”
“Oh, come on,” he sneers, crossing his arms and giving you a glare, “You needed a distraction, I was here.”
You lips press into a tight line, heart pounding with guilt and regret, “You’re unbelievable.” you fumble to get the rest of your clothes on. You grab your heels and shove them on, wincing as you buckle them up, unsteady on your feet. Rafe takes a step to hold your elbow as you wobble but you yank your arm away with a scoff. He doesn’t say another word as you storm out, not wanting to give him to satisfaction of seeing just how much he’s gotten under your skin this time. Frustration and shame clings to you as you walk out of Tannyhill, feelings that you’re just unable to shake off.
Gravel crunches under your feet, the sting of discomfort shoots up your legs, and you wince as your shoes pinch against your skin. The remnants of last night cling to you, an unpleasant headache pounds in your skull—you forgot how many drinks you actually had before hate sex sobered you up. Your clothes are sticky and sour, leaving you to search your brain for pieces of the night you can’t remember. You glance at your reflection in a shop window, your hair is a disheveled mess, and your makeup, once artfully applied, now smudges your tired eyes. You feel suffocated as if you’re trapped in your own skin—itchy, irritable. Then, your phone buzzes in your pocket, pulling you from your spirling thoughts. You pull it out, glancing at the screen. It was a message from John B, “Hey, we’re heading out on the boat. Are you coming?” You hesitant to respond, fingers hovering over the screen. Part of you wants to decline, to wallow in your frustration, JJ and Kie were going to be there—the ones you needed a distraction from in the first place, but now you need a distraction from something else. Someone else. Taking a deep breath, you reply with a quick, “I’ll be there.” before shoving your phone back into your pocket and heading toward the chateau.
When you finally reach the familiar structure, the afternoon sun casts a warm, golden glow over the weathered wooden planks and sun-bleached walls. The air is thick with the scent of saltwater and you relish in the gentle breeze that cools your skin. As you draw closer, faint voices drift toward you, along with laughter and clinking cans. You make your way down the worn path that leads to the dock, where you find the group gathered in a loose circle, loading cheap beer and snacks onto the boat. Sarah and Kie are tossing a cooler filled with ice and soda into the boat, their laughter ringing out, while John B and JJ rummage through a bag, pulling out bags of chips and sandwiches. Pope stands to the side, a smile on his face, before JJ joins him against the railing.
When they finally notice you, the chatter fades, and your friends still. Kie’s smile falters for a moment, replaced by an expression of worry. Sarah and John B share and glance and Pope looks uncomfortable, hands shoved in his pockets, head hanging low. JJ’s gaze is sharper though, a flicker of irritation passing over his features as he straightens against the railing, “Well, look who finally decided to show up,” he remarks, his tone harsher than usual.
You let out a huff, rolling your eyes, “Yeah, I’m here. What’s your point?”
“It means, where have you been lately?” Sarah asks, her brow furrowed with concern. You frown, taken aback, “Y/n, you’ve been distance for days. What’s going on with you?”
Sure, you hesitated to go to the party last night, but that didn’t mean you were avoiding them. You danced with Sarah, shared laughs—so why was she upset now? A pang of guilt hits you, and you bite the inside of your cheek, glancing away. Disappointing everyone has become a habit lately, and it gnaws at you. Still, you cross your arms defensively, trying to maintain your usual composure, “I’ve just had a lot on my mind, alright.” you mumble, anger simmering beneath the surface. They never seemed to care until now—why was it suddenly your fault?
“You know you can just say if you don’t want to hang out with us anymore,” JJ says, leaning against a weathered post, his arms crossed over his chest. His words strike a nerve. The two of you used to be so close, it hurts to know he doesn’t even realize you’ve grown apart. It wasn’t entirely his fault, but he certainly wasn’t blameless. He’s so focused on Kie now that your friendship has grown more distant, perhaps distance that has make it’s way to the entire group.
“Oh, I’m sorry, am I not meeting your standards?” you snap, heat rising in your cheeks.
Kie steps closer, her eyes narrowing, the late afternoon light catching the edges of her expression, “You’re acting like a complete bitch.”
“That’s rich coming from you Kie,” you retort, the words dripping with annoyance as you fight the urge to roll your eyes, “You don’t even know who I am anymore!” The words are thick and suffocating, and you can feel the flicker of a memory—a shared laugh, a late-night conversation—slip away, like grains of sand through your fingers.
“Maybe we wouldn’t have to guess if you just talked to us!” she shoots back. You can see the pain in her eyes, longing for the friendship that’s slipping away.
“I can take care of myself.” you insist, the statement firm but hollow. You take a half-step back, trying to regain some control, but inside you’re quaking.
“We just want to help,” John B chimes in, his tone earnest with a hint of desperation. You catch the way he shifts his weight, hands fidgeting in his pockets as if he’s searching for the right words to defuse the situation.
“Why does it matter so much to you now?” you counter, the heat of your anger flaring again, “You never cared before, so why now?” As you lock eyes with them, you see the flicker of regret in John B’s gaze, the way Kie’s shoulders slump slightly, the hand Pope almost reaches toward you, and for a moment you all realize the once tight friendships that you’ve lost.
Pogue for life, my ass.
“Because we’re worried,” Sarah interjects, her voice softer but firm. “You’re not acting like yourself, and it scares us.” The words hit you harder than you expected. They were right, usually you were fearless, the kind of person who could waltz into a party and effortlessly capture the attention of everyone. You could take down those Kook girls with a couple snide comments and a smile. You were outgoing, lively, your laughter rang out like music, vibrant and contagious. You were a whirlwind of energy that was an acquired taste. Now you were constantly quiet and insecure, that spark you once had was dimmed. You were hurting and you were finally letting your friends see through you.
“I don’t need your help.” you finally reply, your voice sharper than you intend, each word tumbling out with an edge that surprises even you. Your heart aches as you watch JJ’s expression shift.
“Fine. If that’s how you feel, then go.” JJ snaps, the irritation in his voice covering the hurt behind it. He turns away, his back ridgid, and climbs into the boat, “But don’t come crawling back when it all falls apart,” he adds, his words leaving a bitter aftertaste.
You stand the for a moment and watch the rest of your friends slowly turn away, going on with the rest of their day. You scoff, a swirl of emotions tightening in your chest—regret, anger, and a hint of something else you’re too stubborn to acknowledge. Turning away you pull your phone from your pocket, fingers trembling slightly as you dial the number of the one person you can’t help but want to see.

Tumblr media
You blink your eyes open, letting them adjust to the bright morning sunlight filtering in through the window. The room feels pleasantly warm as you look to your right to see your husband, still sleeping peacefully.
Yunho’s face is flushed with a morning glow, a lock of his dark messy hair falling in front of his eyes as he breathes deeply.
Your breath is almost taken away as you quietly watch him, admiring the way he can still look so ethereal, even after sleeping and rolling around all night.
You’re convinced he’s an angel. There’s no other explanation.
As you look at him, a faint smile grows on your face. Your gaze drops to his hand, resting on the pillow near his head, the size of it making butterflies swim in your stomach.
Gently, you reach out, tracing the lines of his long, slender fingers, before carefully flipping his hand over to trace his palm.
You’ll never get used to the size difference, his whole hand is almost the size of both of yours, but they fit so perfectly together. Like puzzle pieces.
Unable to resist any longer, you reach out, brushing the lock of dark hair off his forehead, listening to him groan softly, stirring, but not waking yet.
Smiling to yourself, you gently trace Yunho’s collarbone before moving up to his jawline, stopping when you reach his lips. They’re parted slightly as he sleeps peacefully, looking smooth and soft. You fight the urge to kiss him right then.
Instead, you gently trace your thumb along his bottom lip, watching as he stirs again, wondering if he’ll finally wake. But he doesn’t, simply snuggling more into the silk pillow.
Deciding you want to see his pretty eyes, you lean in, pressing soft, gentle kisses to his face before moving to his neck. He tilts his head to give you more access unconsciously, probably not even realizing he’s doing it.
After a moment, his eyelids flutter opened and he blinks lazily a few times before he speaks, his voice deep and raspy from sleep. “G’morning, my love.”
“Mm, good morning, handsome,” you smile, pressing one last kiss to his nose as Yunho sleepily grins, the hand that was resting against the pillow lifting to cup your cheek in his palm, his thumb brushing softly against your skin.
“You’re so beautiful.”
His words send butterflies fluttering in your stomach as you feel yourself blush, knowing your cheeks are flushed pink.
Yunho chuckles, the sound rumbling from his chest as he moves his hand to the back of your neck, “You’re so cute when you’re shy, you know that, right?”
“You might have told me a few times,” you respond, your cheeks still colored pink as Yunho smiles softly before gently tugging your head down, until it’s only inches away from his.
“I love waking up to your face,” he whispers, his brown eyes sparkling with devotion.
“Likewise,” you giggle, the butterflies still very much present as you lean down a little closer.
Yunho’s gaze slowly shifts from your eyes to your lips and back again before he speaks, his fingers gently playing with your hair, “I love you, you know that?”
“You might have told me a few times,” you laugh, repeating your words from earlier as Yunho squeezes your neck gently before his hands shift to cupping your face.
“Most wives tell their husbands they love him too, hm?” he tells you cheekily, his thumbs brushing against your skin.
“Oh, they do?” you ask, feigning surprise. “I suppose I should stick to tradition then, huh?”
He nods, his gaze now glued to your lips as he shifts almost imperceptibly closer, “It’d be nice to hear those three pretty words from you, sweetheart.”
“Oh, it would?” you ask teasingly, making his gaze snap up to meet yours again, a hint of a challenge swimming in their dark depths.
“It would,” he replies, his voice husky, with a hint of a possessive growl.
“Whoa, no need for that, baby,” you laugh, smiling, as he rolls his eyes playfully. “I love you, Yunho. So, so, so, so much. More than the whole universe, all the stars and planets and everything, and more than—“
He cuts you off, pulling you down to brush his lips against yours in the softest of kisses, successfully shutting you up, as your eyes flutter closed at the feeling of his soft lips.
He soon deepens the kiss, his lips moving against yours, still gentle and so soft. He holds you as if you’ll break if he doesn’t handle you gently.
It makes you fall harder for him as you respond to his gentle kiss. You pull back for air once before kissing him again, intoxicated by the feeling you’d never felt before kissing him.
No one else compares, and you’re positive they never would.
When he pulls back, breathing a little heavier, his lips now glistening, he smiles, his eyes sparkling, as he boops your nose with his finger. “Bliss looks good on you.”
You laugh, playfully smacking his chest, as he leans in, kissing you one last time, before letting you bury your face in the crook of his neck, inhaling his intoxicating scent.
Your senses are overwhelmed by the slightly peachy, sweet scent of his body-wash, mixed with his comforting natural scent. It makes you breathe in deeply once again, sighing contentedly as you snuggle into his neck.
“Comfy?” he asks softly, his hands rubbing up and down your back before resting against your lower back as he squeezes you a little closer.
“Mm, very,” you respond, mumbling into his soft skin. “I could live right here forever.”
“Oh, you could?” Yunho chuckles, pressing a gentle kiss to your hair. “I wouldn’t mind at all, my love.”
You smile, closing your eyes as you continue breathing in his scent. “Can we stay like this forever?”
“I wouldn’t have it any other way.”

ghostface ! hyunjin
little did you know you'd end up bumping into someone unexpected at a halloween party
-suggestive? so flirtatious istg
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
you weren't this type of person. the type of person in college to actively go seeking out parties and big frat parties. infact thats what you'd probably prefer avoiding. classmates and seniors drinking till they pass out or doing god knows what in bathrooms.
it was scary to be amongst so many people yet deep down you really wished you could experience a party like this. atleast for once in your life.
a recently made friend encouraging you to join her and her group of five friends. you weren't exactly on that level of closeness to go out with them but they genuinely were sweet. you felt like you could trust them. however they weren't as much into halloween as you.
you were wild on the inside. god knows what they'd ever say if they ever found out you found ghostface attractive.
not the killing and gore and all. just the idea of a mask like that. hiding someone's appearance completely.
yet all one could see was their physical figure, mannerisms and...their voice.
"you've never watched scream? the 1996 film?" you questioned, voice raising in pitch as they all shook their heads.
"oh is it that ghostface dude you keep mentioning?"
"technically yeah...imagine bumping into somebody wearing that whole outfit...here..in this place"
you said, getting a little anxious as you saw the classmates dressed up as various characters. some a little too gory and drenched in fake blood.
it was a halloween party afterall.
"I really hope he's there..." another friend chimes in. her cheeks visibly turning red. her and her huge ass crush on this guy.
"hm and if he is? what you gonna do with him" you can't help but tease her. nudging her shoulder and wriggling your eyebrows mischieviously. she laughed nervously.
"shhh what are you saying! dirty dirty!" her eyes widening. internally you questioned the innocence of this poor girl. she wasn't the type to think dirty thoughts.
"you think hyunjin will really be here?"
she whispered, looping her arm around yours. both of yall walking past people and into the house. streamers and decorations all over. lights dimmed down and occasionally flashing. the music louder than expected.
"..hwang? hm i don't know" you mumbled, feeling a bit shaky. guilt setting in slowly.
the thing was...you may have had a teeny weeny crush on him as well. however you pushed it aside when you found out she liked him like crazy. she described it as falling in love with him completely. it was a little too extreme but you simply laughed along. knowing all too well that they had never even spoken once in the previous semester.
hyunjin was a senior by a year or three. watching him from afar in the canteen. heart thumping faster than usual when he glanced your way too many times to be casual.
"he's looking at me, isn't he?" she'd always blush and say, trying to avoid him in all the possible ways.
a little delusion because it took only a few instances for you to figure out that he was...looking at you everytime you either walked to buy some coffee or whenever you'd be laughing and cracking jokes.
but you never know? maybe you just thought he knew your existence.
its only when the music gets louder and more people start coming in do things get overwhelming. grabbing a few shots of soju and downing it quicker than ever.
"we're gonna go there okay?" she slurs, waving goodbye and running off somewhere amidst the crowd with the other three. you hum to yourself, smacking your forehead. beginning to feel the alcohol kick in.
just when you think you should leave, your eyes land upon a mask. worn by someone who looks absolutely sculpted.
no flowy robe to match the creepy mask yet the way his arms looked in a tank top the stranger wore was worth drooling over.
looking away quickly when he turns his head towards you.
"god-...f-fuck he's hot..." you mumble breathlessly to yourself. cheeks burning and body on fire.
trying to steal another glance at the stranger. however he had vanished. was he in the crowd or did he go to the kitchen or backyard or-
"looking for me, honey?"
neck spinning to the side to come face to face with the elongated mouth and downward eyes of the spooky mask. a choked out shout leaving you.
"u-uh i-...i m-mean" you don't even know what you're saying at this point.
its the way he's leaning over you. towering above you.
"sooo you got a boyfriend?"
his voice goes straight to your core. its insane how turned on you are. realising he's playing along. reciting lines from the film.
"why? you wanna ask me out on a date?"
dragging your syllables. its the alcohol thats talking now. growing more confident and comfortable with this supposed stranger.
"maybe..."
the mask tilts comically.
leaning down even lower. that is until he sits on the short table opposite to you. carelessly dropping a few leftover candies on the ground. its a mess anyways.
he moves closer. thick thighs on either side of yours. his elbows resting on his knees as he seems to stare back.
expressions hidden under the damn mask. seeing just a sliver of his eyes under the mesh.
"you're pretty...pretty hot to not have one" muffled behind the mask. you can hear him breathe.
eyes trailing down to his arms unconciously.
"you think i'm hot? even though i'm dressed up as joker?" you chuckle. blushing incredibly hard.
because for some reason this stranger felt familiar. his mannerisms and his physique.
"even hotter, baby"
his voice. you've heard it before. you feel like you know this man's voice. no wonder you were enthralled. why couldn't you pinpoint who it belonged to?
"do i know you?" you sit up quickly. mimicking 'ghostface' who sat infront of you.
moving closer till his body heat engulfed you.
"mh do you?"
he tilts his head, humming condescendingly. goosebumps rising on your skin when his hands carefully rest on your knees.
"cause I definitely know you honey"
again.
your heart races.
unconciously leaning into him.
"you do? i see this little game you're playing" you tease. placing your hands on top of his. he lets you.
"m'not playing any games sweetie"
the man laughs lowly. shoulders shaking and neck arching to look down at you. growing more and more interested.
"yeah? then why don't you show me whose under this mask"
gently placing your index under his chin. his hands resting higher on your thighs now.
"oh i couldn't. that would ruin the fun wouldn't it."
allowing you to play around with the edge of the mask. edging him on mercilessly.
"what if i said i wouldn't mind it staying on"
you whisper, eyes meeting his briefly. arousal pooling in your abdomen.
whoever this was. you knew him for sure.
"while we talk? or did you mean during sex? please do tell, doll"
his voice drops an octave lower and you let your instincts kick in. forcing you to your limits with his teasing.
pushing the mask up just enough to kiss him senselessly.
it takes him by surprise, and you find yourself clinging onto him. his hands sliding higher to hold your waist.
quite literally using his strength to pull you right onto his lap. the low table creaks at the weight of two .
(lord have mercy we must stay focused brothers we MUST STAY FOCUSED AAA sorry i had to lolz)
"f-fuck...who are you..." you whisper, nose brushing against his. he huffs out a breath. choosing to kiss you with more fervour.
your fingers slipping under the mask.
shakily pushing it higher until your heart throbs. but that isn't the only thing throbbing when you see his uncovered face.
hyunjin.
"y-you...hyu-njin" going absolutely speechless as it sets in.
you're kissing hwang hyunjin.
the senior you thought you'd never even have the courage to talk to.
the mild taste of peach soju on his tongue. quietly opening your mouth for him to trail his tongue over your bottom lip.
the dark mesh falling over your face when you let go of the mask to fist at his fluffy hair. you could run your fingers through his hair.
his grip on your thighs strong enough to firmly keep you planted directly over where you could feel him.
getting worked up with how affected you were.
the feeling of his hands, his hair, his hot mouth moving passionately...his covered length....
"your friend. tell her you're with me, baby"
hyunjin pants out, nudging his lips to the corner of your mouth. your eyes widen, heart pounding.
"tell her im kissing you"
it felt like you were committing a sin. but you just couldn't bring yourself to care that much.
"tell her...i don't plan on letting you go home anytime soon"
.
.
.
.
ha ha ha ha ha ha ha surprise!
its a late halloween present but who cares! ghostface hyunjin has made an appearance acjwugsbsjskskshs~

Okay, so, the ask about yandere platonic dick cheating and how the reader would react has me wondering; what would happen if the reader somehow found out that Dick didn't actually change and decided to go no contact, because they couldn't trust him or maybe because they just don't want to be around someone like that? Would that cause Dick to spiral more? What exactly would be the consequences of going no contact? (Like a complete cut off, although it'd be a bit hard to do that since they live in the same house)
(I was a bit disappointed to read that he probably wouldn't change, but it seemed realistic to me because habits are hard to break and everyone in the batfam is messed up. Although, I imagine after years of therapy or something similar there might be some sort of change. But, I doubt anyone in the batfam is getting therapy... except maybe reader)
Sorry yeah, i don't like to think Dick is actually a cheater or this shitty. I just like to humor different scenarios i get requested. But you cannot deny that this man is a messy whore. THIS IS THE FACE OF EVILLL
Tumblr media
context
Look, cheaters are so sloppy. Even the ones who put the most effort into it are always bound to slip up. I imagine batsis isn't a fool. Like Richard...no way did you just go from being a serial cheater to suddenly being completely cleansed. You're an addict baby boy.
Like i said at first he's actually wanting to get clean for his baby sis and to be a good role model. I think it'd be very obvious to you that he's actually trying. He's irritable and really struggling to cope with the fact he has to put the phone down. You can see him obsessively checking his phone for what you'd assume to be a message or notification from one of his hookups. You can tell he's torn up about loosing his partners because he came clean about his unethical practices....
There's no hiding. This is such a deep seeded issue and it is really taking a toll on him. This is something like you said will need YEARS of therapy to fix.
So now Dick is trying to bullshit you a few days later...right in front of your salad! He's just sooo happy and he's proud about this new leaf turned????? Yesterday he looked like he was about to breakdown in tears because he'd been abstinent for just 48 hrs...and now he's glowing???
Dick, your patrol ended at 2 am last night...you came home at 6 am...please don't play with me rn.
not me getting heated. lol
He doesn't explicitly tell you he's back to his old ways. He's willing to keep lying his way into keeping you and this habit but it's undeniable. You know that his gf only forgave him because he lied to her too. It makes you sick when you saw the text of him telling her that he's busy with family and then left out for the rest of the day to go be with someone else.
Maybe you explode on him about it? Last time you were as nice as you could be about it but you cannot deal with the games anymore.
I liked to think in this scenario you're yelling at him and he's just still gas-lighting you, He throws every card to make you feel bad for accusing him. It absolute drives you mad. He's just so calm while you're are trying not to strangle him.
"Baby bat, i love you. I think you're just tired and are imagining things. You're convincing yourself that i'm still the old Dick because you're hurting...i understand and I forgive you. Maybe we should set up therapy sessions to help you let go of the past? Hmm?"
"YOU MOTHER FU-"
Ugh but i love him he's so fucked
The irony of him suggesting you therapy when he's the one riddles with mommy issues and the most insane coping mechanisms...
Dick isn't going to allow you to go no contact. You cannot go no contact with someone you live in the same house with. You are bound to interact and when you are dealing with someone like dick...it just won't work. The bat kids are extremely resilient and are well versed in making someone crack. You wouldn't be the exception.
More realistically you'd probably just be cold towards Dick. That's the best you can do. Not really responding to him and basically stone walling...
But i imagine this version of Dick to be much more forceful. He's done with your self righteousness. How dare you suggest moving out. That isn't an option because he needs to see his baby sister everyday. You are breaking up the family over this. You cannot cut him off because he's flawed...it's not that serious y/n. None of the other siblings are breathing down his neck. Maybe if you weren't so frustrating..he could actually become a better person. You are the one that is preventing him from being better with all your pressure!!
You packed your bags and are fully ready to walk out of this family for good because there's just too many wrong doings swept under the rug and here comes dick who is FUMING... He's trying to rip your bags out of your hands and grab you up..
You are not doing this to him. Stop being so-
Maybe your siblings step in and help you to leave. They help Dick calm down because they respect that it's your choice to live how you'd life.
Dick isn't stopping once you're gone. Especially if you're still in Gotham. There's a shadow that follows you where you go. Tons of messages and calls from unknown numbers. Even scarily enough..a blue toy bird left at your door with a small note that read
"Missed me, my little birdie? We'll be seeing each other again soon."

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
ex fratboy! chris. smut-angst. 1.8k words.
it’s one of those late nights, and you’re standing there in the middle of a way-too-crowded, kinda messy party that, honestly, you only came to ‘cause your friends dragged you here. the air's thick with too many people, bad beer, and random songs blaring loud enough to drown out any thoughts you might’ve had. and that’s when you see him: chris. the ex you swore you were over. but like, really, are you?
it’s weird though, ‘cause he’s just chilling across the room, laughing too loud, his arm around some guy you don’t recognize, talking animatedly about god knows what. he’s got that same stupid, loose stance, shoulders relaxed, wearing that hoodie he always wore, the one you’d stolen a million times. you think— hope, he hasn’t noticed you, so you kinda try to blend in, sticking close to the wall, pretending to check your phone.
you weren’t always like this, all distant and tense. you’d meet up after his frat meetings, and he’d tell you all these wild stories about his brothers, like the time they tried building a slip n’ slide down the staircase and ended up getting written up by their advisor. you’d just sit there laughing so hard you’d cry, and he’d look at you like nothing in the world could ever compare. and for a while, it felt like he was it. but it ended, kinda messy, mostly because chris was…well, chris. he’d blow off plans, flirt with people at parties, and honestly, it just felt like he didn’t know what he wanted. or maybe he did, and it just wasn’t you. he’d show up late and drunk, ramble on about his deep thoughts on the universe, and then disappear for days, leaving you feeling like some kind of afterthought. eventually, you got tired of being the whenever person, so you cut it off. even if it hurt.
it’s been a few months now, and you’re doing your thing—focusing on classes, seeing friends, trying to move on.
but nah. of course he sees you.
“yo, wait up,” he calls, weaving his way through people, looking right at you. you try to act casual, like this isn’t a big deal, like you don’t feel your stomach flip. he stops in front of you, that grin still hanging on his face. “hey,” he says, shoving his hands in his pockets. “long time no see, huh?”
“yeah, well, been busy,” you reply, shrugging. it sounds casual enough, but he’s still looking at you like he’s trying to read something on your face.
“you look good,” he says after a pause, and it’s so out of character for him to just say something like that, straight-up, that it throws you off for a second “uh...thanks?” you laugh, awkwardly. you know he’s probably just trying to be friendly, but you can’t help wondering if there’s more to it. “so...you still doing the same old chris thing?”
he laughs, rubbing the back of his neck, looking away for a second. “i guess so,” he mutters, more to himself than to you. and then he kinda sighs, like he’s tired of the frat boy act, or maybe just tired of himself. “been, uh…been thinkin’ about you,” he admits, his voice low. “more than i probably should.”
you try to brush it off, folding your arms to keep your cool. “oh, yeah? that’s, uh, new.”
“i know, i know, i messed up,” he says, sighing. “just…never got you outta my head, y’know?” you can feel yourself softening despite everything. “yeah, well, maybe you should’ve tried harder.”
he looks at you, his eyes searching yours, and there’s this vulnerability there, like he’s finally ready to admit something he’s been holding back. “you think i didn’t? trust me, i tried. i just…i dunno. couldn’t do it.”
you don’t want to care, don’t want to feel that old pull, but it’s there, creeping up on you. he steps closer, barely an inch between you now, his gaze never leaving yours. “you want me to back off?” he murmurs, his voice barely audible over the music. “just tell me, and i will.”
you could tell him to go. could shut this down, walk away, stay done with him. but instead, you shake your head, just a tiny movement, and he lets out a soft breath, like he’s been holding it in. before you can think, his hand’s on your waist, his fingers brushing lightly over your hip, pulling you closer.
the kiss starts slow, tentative, his lips brushing over yours like he’s testing if this is real. then his hand moves up, slipping around your back, and it’s like something inside you snaps. you grab the front of his hoodie, pulling him closer, and he lets out a low sound, his grip on you tightening as he presses his body against yours, his mouth moving over yours with more intensity.
“missed you,” he whispers against your lips, his voice rough, desperate. you barely register the words, just feel the heat rising between you two, feel his hands sliding lower, pulling you against him, his fingers firm on your waist, his mouth moving along your jaw, down to your neck, sending shivers through you. you tug him toward the hallway, away from the crowded room, and he follows, his hand gripping yours, letting you lead him through the maze of people until you push open the bathroom door, dragging him inside.
the space is cramped and a little dingy, but you don’t care. the second the door clicks shut, his hands are on you, pushing you gently but firmly against the door. his mouth crashes into yours, hot and urgent, and your hands find their way under his hoodie, slipping over his chest, feeling the warmth of his skin. you tug the hoodie off him, and he lifts his arms to help you, tossing it aside without a second thought, his hands already back on you, roaming down your sides, exploring every inch.
he kisses you harder, more intense, his lips pressing down your neck, his hands slipping under your top, that quickly joins the hoodie on the floor.
“god, i’ve wanted this for so long,” he murmurs, his voice low, almost a growl. “yeah? thought you forgot about me,” you tease, but there’s no real bite to your words. it’s playful, but you both know the truth behind it.
“never forgot. couldn’t stop thinkin’ ‘bout you,” he admits, his hands sliding up to your bra, deft fingers working to unclasp it. you feel a thrill of excitement mixed with nerves as it falls away, and his hands are on your bare skin, exploring, his touch igniting every nerve in your body.
“you’re, uh…sure about this?” he murmurs, his voice low, his hand coming up to rest on your cheek, his thumb brushing over your skin. you don’t even hesitate. “yeah,” you whisper, barely able to keep your voice steady.
he lets out a soft, almost relieved sound, and his mouth finds yours again, hungrier this time, like he’s been holding back and can’t anymore. his hands slide down, finding the waistband of your skirt, tugging it down, his touch steady and deliberate, like he knows exactly what he’s doing. you step out of it, your pulse racing as his hands explore you, pulling you closer, pressing you against him.
you tug at his belt, fingers fumbling, but he’s already helping, working the buckle loose, kicking off his jeans. he’s back against you in a second, his hands on your hips, his lips trailing down your collarbone, leaving a trail of warmth and shivers in their wake.
he lifts you, setting you on the counter, your legs wrapping around his waist. “you okay?” he asks, checking in, “yeah, jus’ do it,” you whisper, barely able to hold back the urge to pull him closer, “please.”
he’s kissing you again, his mouth moving against yours as you feel him press against you, hot and hard, and you let out a soft gasp. “need you,” he murmurs, almost pleading, and that raw honesty sends a thrill through you. you nod, breathless, and he positions himself, sliding inside you slowly, giving you a moment to adjust. it feels incredible, every inch of him fitting perfectly, like he was made for you.
“god, you’re so tight,” he groans, burying his face in your neck, and the sound of his voice makes you moan softly. as he starts moving, the rhythm is slow at first, deliberate, and you feel every thrust, every movement building inside you. he’s murmuring your name, breathless, and the heat between you is consuming. you wrap your legs tighter around him, pulling him in deeper, urging him to go faster.
“yeah? you like that?” he asks, his breath hot against your skin as he quickens the pace. it feels electric, every thrust sending shockwaves through you, and you nod, lost in the sensation.
“so good, chris,” you moan, the words tumbling out as you feel that familiar coil tightening deep inside you. he leans back, looking at you with those dark, intense eyes, and it drives you wild. “gonna make you feel good, okay?” he says, and there’s something in the way he says it that makes your heart race.
with each thrust, the world outside fades away. it’s just the two of you, the heat of the moment enveloping you, and you feel that sweet pressure building, your body responding to every touch, every whisper, until you’re trembling around him, ready to fall apart.
“come on, babe,” he encourages, his voice low and rough, and you can hear the strain in it as he moves faster, pushing you closer and closer to the edge. “can’t hold on much longer,” you breathe, feeling that familiar rush as he hits just the right spot, sending you spiraling.
“let go for me,” he says, his voice thick with desire, and the way he looks at you, his eyes dark and hungry, pushes you over the edge. with a loud gasp, you’re coming undone, waves of pleasure crashing over you, and he follows right after, burying himself deep as he lets go. the sound of his voice, mixed with yours, fills the tiny bathroom, and in that moment, it’s just the two of you, lost in each other, together again in a way you thought you’d never be.
as you both come down from the high, he pulls you close, resting his forehead against yours, breathing heavily, trying to catch his breath. he doesn’t say anything, just lets the silence settle between you, a quiet, unspoken apology wrapped up in the way he looks at you, his eyes softer than you remember, like maybe he’s finally realized what he’s been missing all along.
and for now, it’s enough to let yourself believe that maybe, just maybe, this time will be different.

More Between Us.
Tumblr media
You’ve always been just friends, but they can’t ignore how their heart races whenever you’re near.
FEAT. Isagi, Bachira
NOTES. probably my most tooth-rotting post yet! annnd I totally forgot I had this in my drafts Bring this duo back to me though pleasj
Tumblr media
ISAGI is easygoing, and mild-mannered by nature (though perhaps his rivals disagree on that). It’s literally harder to not be friends with him. Your relationship was equally good, nothing particularly special and not abysmal. The type of friends who might talk on the way to class if you spot each other, but never go out of their way to do so either.
If asked, you wouldn’t even say best friends; he’s too busy with his teammates, and you have your own friend group.
See, Isagi enjoys thinking about stuff in a logical sense, using reason and evidence to support his ‘theory’. Both in real life and in football.
So before he even comes to the conclusion of a crush, firstly, there’s the small details he picks up about you.
Your eyes shift colour slightly if the sun hits them right. But, he reckons that happens with everyone’s eyes. Your eyes crinkle upwards when you smile, and maybe even dimples form on your cheeks as you do so. He likes seeing people smile, and yours is… in a way, cuter than anyone else’s? If he had to rank smiles, he’d put yours near the top. All hypothetical, obviously!
He’s always been observant, even as a kid, so Isagi figured he was just feeling a little more insightful as of late but it doesn’t stop there.
Suddenly, Isagi finds himself unconsciously lingering in places he knows you'll be. He tells himself it's just coincidence, but deep down, he has a feeling that he’s seeking you out more often.
Practicing with his team becomes a lot more strategic, with him making sure he's near your usual route home (not in a stalker way, at least, he hopes not), and just on time so that he can ‘bump into you’ and walk together.
And he lives in the complete opposite direction, so, while you don’t mind his presence, you find it a little odd.
Isagi begins to remember every little thing you mention, even the small stuff, like your favorite snack or the song you've been listening to on repeat. Next thing you know, he’s casually surprising you with them, acting like it’s no big deal but loves it when you get visibly excited about it.
He fumbles with his words a little more around you now, overthinking simple things that never used to bother him. It’s not like he’s shy (actually one of the best communicators out of everyone), he just doesn’t want to mess up or make you think he’s weird!
If he says something that could be interpreted as mildly creepy, he’s actually the first one to call it out and apologise over and over again. Beats himself up about it at home, even if you thought it was mildly funny that he knew what you were doing last week Tuesday at around 5:06PM…
When his teammates joke about him having a crush, he laughs it off, but there’s always a little pink in his cheeks that he hopes you don’t notice.
He'll start texting you first more often, just to share something funny or ask for your opinion on something trivial. It’s an excuse, really, just to have another reason to talk to you.
Also catches himself smiling whenever he sees a notification from you pop up on his phone, and his heart does a little flip when he reads your replies, no matter how mundane they are. Literally a “hey, I’m bored. Wanna hang out” is enough for him to lose sleep over it.
When you two do eventually go to said hang out, he pays extra attention to you: whether it's making sure you’re comfortable, or that you’ve got enough to eat, he’s always subtly looking out for you.
Despite all these signs, Isagi convinces himself it’s better this way — giving you small hints for you to understand rather than straight-up confessing. If you notice them and accept, great! If you notice and don’t accept, that’s fine too, he hopes you can remain friends though!
If you’re completely oblivious, well… he’ll muster up the courage to say it outright.
Tumblr media
You and BACHIRA are like two peas in a pod together! Where there’s one, the other’s probably lurking nearby somewhere. Every second of every day seems to be spent with each other (and to anybody with common sense, you two already look like you’re dating).
When the crush starts, he thinks about you more than he already did, if that were even possible. Every little thing you do seems to make his heart race, but he sorta brushes it off as just excitement from being with his best friend.
Kind of a trickier situation than Isagi’s one this way though, because now you’re so close, Bachira doesn’t even feel that different about you. He might not even realise it’s romantic until his mother points it out in the midst of another one of his rambling sessions. About you, that is.
I won’t sugarcoat it; he’s nervous if anything. You’re one of the few friends he has and genuinely seem to care and like about him and if he ruins your friendship over his feelings, he’d be devastated.
But he’s back to his usual self and gains a little confidence after some encouragement from others!
Bachira’s clinginess ramps up a notch, but it’s so typical of him that you might not even notice. He’s constantly draping an arm around you, leaning on you, or just being in your personal space as much as possible.
Willing to share anything and everything with you. For example, if it’s snacks he’s got, he’s always picking out the best pieces just for you and handing them over with a cute smile.
Bachira finds himself staring at you a lot more now. Sometimes you’ll catch him and he’ll just laugh it off with a playful comment, but on the inside, his mind is racing with thoughts he can’t quite put into words.
When you talk, he listens with full attention, his usual playful demeanor softening into something more tender. He hangs onto your every word like it’s the most important thing he’s ever heard — and you could literally be talking about a bug you saw on the sidewalk this morning.
If you ever need anything, Bachira’s the first one to jump in and help, no questions asked. He’d go out of his way just to make you smile, even if it means a truckload of extra effort on his part.
Sometimes, he hints at deeper feelings in his usual roundabout way — in little jokes that might just have a hint of truth behind them. But he always plays it off as just that, a joke.
If you’re feeling down, he’s the first to notice, offering comfort in the form of goofy antics or just sitting with you in silence if that’s what you want.
If you ever confront him directly and ask if he feels something more than just being friends, Bachira might just spill everything in a rush of words; unable to keep his feelings hidden any longer. But until then, he’s content simply being by your side, even if it means he isn’t being entirely honest to himself.

slushies—
ᯓ killua (older ver.)
cw; kissing
note; lord have mercy it's been a minute since I wrote 😣 no proof read
Tumblr media
after the three of you came back home with a cold slushie beverage from the gas station, Gon parted ways to set up his room for the movie night you guys agreed on. He hurriedly skipped away with his green apple slushie, leaving you and Killua alone in the kitchen.
you prop yourself up on the counter with a laugh, "you're an idiot." You snicker at his teasing before taking sips from your cherry slushie. Killua sets his blue raspberry drink down beside you and wipes the condensation off his shirt.
you watch him slowly approach you with a suspicious glint in his eyes, you carefully set down your own drink as he leans between your legs.
"what are you doing?" You nervously ask as he begins to rub himself against you like a cat. He senses your uneasiness and snickers softly. He slyly places his hands on your waist. "relax, I'm not doing anything.." He mutters. Something about his tone of voice was mischievous to you, you didn't buy this innocent act of his right now.
"yeah, okay." You roll your eyes then smile as he leans away from you, his hands still placed on your sides. You two gaze into each other's eyes in the dim lighting of the kitchen. As you both continued to gaze at each other, the tension appeared to intensify. It made your tummy numb whenever he stared at you half-lided like, you knew where this was going when he finally lifted your chin and leaned in to kiss you just seconds later.
once you felt his warm breath fan your lips you closed the gap and smashed your lips into his. You feel him smile against your lips causing you to do the same, it was a cute moment until you felt a cold sensation on your torso. You squeak from the awfully cold feeling that happened to be Killua's fingers slipping under your shirt. Probably why he smiled. What a asshole...
you want to pull away from him to complain but you already made the mistake of opening your mouth when you panicked. This cute kiss was turning into something more erotic... he spent no time letting his tongue venture inside your mouth. You can practically taste the blue raspberry off his tongue, it catches you off guard but with his hands feeling you under your shirt, him in between your legs, and the sweet taste of raspberry mixing with cherry... you were in too deep, literally.
you reluctantly give in and kiss him back with some force as you tug on his fluffy silver hair. he grunts from the wonderful sensation of your fingers tangling in his hair. His grunts were so cute yet turned you on so badly that you began to run your digits against the nape of his neck to get another reaction. You are successful and hear a faint whimper escape from him, he pulls away momentarily to pant over your neck.
"oh my god? Did you just—"
"shut up." He's quick to cover your mouth and give you an embarrassed look. You want to laugh but for his sake, you comply and simply smile as he takes his hand away. You're back to staring at each other again but this time you feel playful and teasing. You gaze at him and admire his features before slowly narrowing your gaze towards his exposed neck. He watches you curiously, "what are you doing?"
"relax, I'm not doing anythingg..." You smirk, mocking him. Killua rolls his eyes, "oh wow."
"oh wow indeed." You giggle softly and pull him towards you to suck on his pasty skin. He tilts his neck for you and makes faint grunting noises as he grips your legs. You swirl your tongue over a specific spot and leave soft kisses over the spot you bruised with your mouth.
you continue to kiss his sweet neck, feeding off the cute noises that erupt from his mouth , it's making Killua entirely too embarrassed being so vulnerable like this but he couldn't exactly find the strength to pull away, well that was until Gon suddenly came out of his room.
oh and how fast that boy is pushing you away.
"guys LOOK MY TOUNGE IS GREEN!" The ravenette comes running to the kitchen. Gon's sudden appearance makes you jump off the counter with a yelp. Suddenly Killua's push was understandable. "Jesus you scared us Gon." You nervously glance over at Killua then at Gon.
Gon looks at you two confused, "were you guys doing somethi—" "Nope." The silverette quickly answers with a straight face. You look over at him again and blink over at Gon.
there is an awkward silence that falls for a few seconds as Gon observes the two of you, but thankfully Gon's lack of awareness gets the better of him and he simply smiles. "Okay! What color are your guy's tounges?!"
a sigh of relief slips out of you and Killua as you two look at each other, "our tongues huh?" Killua leaves your gaze to look back at Gon. You think to yourself and stick out your pink muscle as Killua does the same. Gon gawks for a moment but then raises his brow.
"why are the both of your tounges purple if you got different drinks?"
"OKAAY– movie time yes???"
"and also you have something on your neck Killua, what is—"
"MOVIE TIME!"

nik falls in love with you the first time he meets you, i think
when you first pull up behind the old beater truck you think nothing of it, inspecting the rusted out tailgate with a critical eye. you note the dirt above the wheel well disinterestedly and move on, climbing out of your low coup with a sigh at the bite of frost in the air. small cars were great in that it didn't take long to fill the tank, which meant less time spent in the frigid open air by the gas pump, but awful in that a small tank meant more frequent stops, like a kid after a theater soda.
you've only just selected your fuel grade when the owner of the truck sidles up, resting a fresh tall coffee from the shop on the roof as he blocks off the pump, sets about wiping his windshields with the squeegee. you wonder if the old girl even has windshield washer fluid in her.
it's hard to avoid watching him work. he's handsome. burly. well dressed, though the clothes themselves looked nearly as old and ragged as his truck. he catches you watching interestedly when your pump chunks loudly, tank full, but you're too interested in the way he leans casually over the truck bed to reach the middle panel of the back window.
(can you be expected to look away when you note he's tall enough to reach without issue? the soft roll of his diaphragm bulging over the bed?)
the man works his palm back across his slicked hair, smoothing it unnecessarily. his eyes are bright as he eyes you over and you take it unflinchingly, emboldened by the obvious interest you see there.
until his eyes rake over the hood of your car and the corner of his mouth drags into a smirk, one you've seen too many times before.
"it's a base model," you interrupt before he can even speak, but the man is unperturbed.
"i see that," he hedges in a thick russian accent. odd, what with the old beater and the local plates. "twenty ninteen?"
you're taken aback, but only slightly, your car's make notorious enough to garner attention, though not usually enough to keep it past 'it's the cheap model'. "Yeah," you concede, finally remembering to return the nozzle to its holster. you reassess the truck in front of you, once written off as the product of poverty or carelessness, you can see now that it's taken years of care to even get such an old beast to stay alive this long. it's a breath of fresh air, really. the kind of Car Guys your little speedster usually attracted were self-centered little twerps more worried about spoilers than... whatever the important bits of machinery were that kept a car moving, but here was a full grown man taking note. maybe the cheap little coup wasn't so bad after all...?
"you'll want to keep an eye on that timing chain."
"pardon?"
the man just laughs as he straightens out. you wait patiently for him to walk around the hood and return the squeegee. standing much closer to you now, he wipes his hands off on his jeans and you note his cracked knuckles, callused but well-suited for the cold. "the timing chain. sobach'ye der'mo, that car. does it like to shift when the engine's cold?"
you remember running late the other morning, the way the car had shook when you'd approached the stop sign at the end of your street after starting and dashing. "no."
his hair barely moves when he shakes his head, product too thick along his roots. it should maybe gross you out but it doesn't, just lends itself to his specifically eastern european charm. "it will start with cam shaft error codes - probably around seventy five thousand miles. don't listen. take it to me, da?" the card he proffers is simply designed, but effective. his name is nikolai and he owns a local shop - one you pass daily, actually. you run by it in your memories now, re-evaluate the classic models that proudly line the lot with a fresh eye.
"and what if i'm past that mileage?" you ask slyly, pocketing his card.
(breast pocket, hoping he notes your finger bosts no ring as you do so.)
nikolai pulls a deep sigh, expression the very image of concern when he informs you of your dire situation. "then you should bring it in straight away. these problems... let us just hope it's not too late."
your laugh is a bubbly thing, too bright, but nikolai doesn't know you from adam so you play it off as best you can. there's no hiding the shiver you emit when the next strong gust of wind rolls though, however, and your companion urges you back to the the driver's door insistantly with a heavy hand at the small of your back. he apologizes for keeping you even though he didn't and waits to make sure you'll call him before closing the door after you. he makes no attempt to hide the way he listens to your engine when you start and you don't know what else to do but shrug and wave when he looks back at you disapprovingly at whatever it is he hears.
stuck behind him, you watch as he clambers back into his truck, trying not to be distracted by the way his hammies test the inseam of his jeans when he makes the climb up - no runners, no lift kit. old-school.
you're still lost in your day dreams when his engine turns over with a purr, sighing wistfully when his tail lights turn on. it takes a moment to register the picture, the asymmetrical vision before you. you have enough sense to honk before opening your door, grabbing his attention so he doesn't drive off before you can collect his coffee from his roof.
you take the time to read the scrawled name on the side as he lowers the window - a task, what with the hand crank.
"do you spell it with a 'c'?" you ask, turning the cup so the americanized version of his shortened name faces him. when he simply replies negatively with a soft smile, you can't help but return the expression.
"thought not. just asking so i know how to save you in my phone."

so I've been reading real published romance books and they cannot fill the void that ao3 and company do fill, but they did give me an idea. ok, lmfao, hear me out. (I've had this in my drafts for way too long, i decided to release it because why tf not)
content: alien!141, soulmates!141, abduction, intergalactic human trafficking, space shit; very vague idea of anything ever; probably made up alien names; writer is at work while dealing with annoying costumers so it's rushed and dumb.
imagine:
Good ol' you, in your house, unaware that in the deep, vast universe, trafficking also existed. Not long ago, a reptilian race found out about our warm bodies, interesting features and intelligent yet primitive brains, and started to abduct and sell men and women to rich buyers. It was good business, especially considering our side of the universe wasn't even aware of extraterrestrial life, so they couldn't even guess where they disappeared! The treaty and all intergalactic laws were vague about us. "Let them be" meaning "Let them fuckers figure their shit out, lol idk".
Well, as you can understand, the Sheh'deauz (lmfao stay with me) decided to in fact not let us be. So back to lovely you, yeah?
Home alone, playing videogames or something, when suddently you see some flashes of light out the window. It was weird considering it wasn't raining but you remained calm, as you assumed maybe a storm is approaching? Mainly, you couldn't give a shit but the moment you heard scratching and hissing outside your door, you panicked. Long story short, your house slowly started filling with an invisible gas that just made you pass out, but you did see your door opening, same weird blue-white light emanating from under it as it did, and a scaly leg entering your home as you fell on the floor.
You figured, as the genius that you were, that you were, in fact, not dreaming as you spent many hours (days? felt like days) in a cage. Very oddly technologically advanced. In another strike of genius, and of course, after seeing your kidnappers, you figured it was a spaceship and you were in some deep sci-fi shit. (maybe after laughing and asking them where are the hidden cameras. i would...)
After throwing tantrums and having the ugly multi-colored creatures mock you and hiss at you, you kinda gave up and sat by the very human bed you've been given and allowed time to pass. You were given food every so often, a toilet nearby, water at your disposal. But you feared for your life.
Well, let me tell you something. You have the luckiest misfortune of all, really. Or maybe, just maybe, things are meant to be this way. Maybe it was all meant to happen like this. Allow me to explain.
In another corner of the universe, four of the greatest warriors of the Intergalactic Army frowned at a holographic screen. A female alien, older, still beautiful, ethereal looking, skin creamy white with some lavender edges and striking blue eyes was frowning back.
"You're fucking kidding me." Their captain said (in a different language than ours but your writer here is multi-lingual, don't worry), getting closer to the screen. She just nodded, rubbing her forehead.
"Where is that again?" Asked another.
"So like—" a third one, this one with a distinct accent compared to the others, tilted his head incredulously. "They're our cousins genetically?"
"You can say so." She groaned. "The Council decided to not touch that part of the galaxy. They are being observed. Fucking hell! They were going on the right path."
"If they don't destroy their own planet before." The captain muttered, voice tired and coarse. In his many, many years lived, he's seen it happen again and again. Greed and stupidity almost whipped their race, so he's been following the Terrans close-by, as close as a mere Intergalactic Task Force Captain (stick with me lmfao) could follow.
"So what's the plan?" The tallest one asked, mask made of what others assumed was one of his most dangerous prey's skull was placed on his face.
"We give them hell." Captain commanded, Laswell nodding.
"Stay close, at the outskirts of their galaxy. We intercept any package and find their buyers."
"What do we do with our lil cousins then?"
"Eliminate any witnesses."
Shit went down really quick. You figured they were preparing for something as the guards by your cell somehow summoned some advanced looking chairs from the walls to strap themselves on and hissed at you mockingly, as they've done before. You just sat in a corner, by the bed, and wanted to cry. You were going through all stages of grief every few hours and it was getting exhausting. You were just now starting to understand how dire your situation was and how little chances you had of going home.
They turned off the main lights and a thousand scenarios crossed your mind. It was as if they were bracing for something. You frowned as you saw the guards tense as some alien hieroglyphics appeared on a holographic screen. It looked... like a countdown... You grasped the bed, trying to brace yourself for something. And good that you did because it felt as if the ship collapsed with something.
It basically shook you off to the ground, and while you'd think this was supposed to happen, you quickly realize it wasn't since the guards unstrapped themselves from the chairs and started shrieking as alarms suddently blared. After that? Seconds and it was over. Two white blasts ended them both, hitting them exactly in the middle of their ugly skulls. You did not hear any footsteps but you saw a shadow approaching your cell, so you scurried closer to your bed and now presumably magic shield that will block blasts that melt alien skulls.
The barriers from your cell unlocked, sliding to the sides and someone jumped in front of you. Someone big, dressed sleekly in black, although you could swear the edges of his frame looked transparent for a second. It was big, yet had the complexity of a human so you stayed locked in place, big scared eyes on the person pointing a big son-of-a-bitch gun at you. You heard it growl and speak something shortly, and the hairs on your whole body pricked.
World stopped for Price as he cracked another neck, just after locking eyes with the leader of this "cargo" ship. He was about to take a step forward to gently guide this person towards personal enlightenment by confessing all the information they needed, even if it would be involuntarily, when Soap spoke... well, growled just one word in their comms.
"Mate."

"hey," dan heng calls for you, but you don’t respond. your back facing him, refusing to look his way.
“look at me.” he calls once more, still no response from you. for context, you’re very mad and jealous after seeing another random girl holding onto his arm so tightly and pulling him so close to her, a little too close for your liking.
you probably shouldn’t be this jealous because you know that dan heng belongs to you, and you belong to him. everyone around you knows that by now, but apparently some girls just don’t it, or pretend not to. and it makes you furious.
“please.. just listen to me.” he pleas, his voice coming off a bit shaky as he begs you to give him a chance to explain himself. since you instantly ran away before giving him the chance to say anything, so you think to yourself that you should at least listen to him first before you act upon your raging emotions.
you turn around and your eyes meet his deep, teal ones for the first time since the incident, and you can notice how his face lights up when you finally look at him.
“you’re finally looking at me.” dan heng sighs in relief as his hand finds a home onto your cheek. his thumb delicately brushes against your skin, and you can’t help but melt away in his touch. only he has this effect on you.
"you seemed to be having a good time with her back there.." you scorn as a disdained look makes its way onto your face.
"it was nothing like that," he begins to explain, his eyes fixed on you as if you're the only thing he sees. "i hated how she touched me as if we were familiar when we weren't."
dan heng pauses a little and takes your hand in his, gripping it tightly. while his other hand still softly caresses your cheek, his thumb strokes in soothing circles.
"i only love it when you touch me." he smiles ever so gently. your face begins to relax as the disdained look from earlier changes to a softer, flushed one.
"you're mine, dan heng." you state and dan heng looks at you as if you're stating the obvious.
"i know, i'm only yours." he murmurs in a soft spoken tone.
you release your hand from his tight grip and wrap your arms around him, nuzzling your face in the crook of his neck. you feel his arms rest firmly around your waist, pulling you closer to him as he peppers the back of your ear and down your neck in feather kisses.
"i love you, so so much." you tenderly whisper against his ear.

Oh! I actually love this idea and thought about it way too much. And you NAILED some important points. Cause the only borrowers that wouldn’t be affected by this apocalypse would be those deep in the wilderness, like in super dangerous parts of the jungle or even deep into caverns that human’s hubris can’t reach.
Also I’ve always thought about when borrowers would be found cause time periods could impact that. Like ancient centuries would see them as a status symbol among humans. If you caught one that would mean great luck or fortune, or perhaps it meant you were smart enough to catch them. Go a little further into closer centuries and you have borrowers being sold as pets or slaves or even worse possibilities.
But then you get to this century, today, and everything you said would most likely be true. However, I can hear the debates over them. How one side would say they are humans and deserve human rights, while the other would say they are less than human and don’t deserve respect because they can’t do Real work, or something. Then there would be an argument about what makes something a human. Is it DNA? Size? Looks? Etc? Which that opens a whole new can of worms where ethics, ancestral history, eugenics, morals, religious contexts, and so many other things would get involved and that would be one hell of a shitstorm.
However if borrowers were found, we know there would be a whole community of people wanting to protect them and their way of life. It wouldn’t be the same as before, like you said their world would be gone and completely different, but they do have a small group of people who would, at least I hope so, fight for every borrower out there. I’m just saying that the g/t community would probably go and steal from places keeping borrowers prisoners. I would at least. I’ll go into a petsmart and break all the borrowers out of there. They can arrest me but that won’t stop me from doing it again when I get out!
*ahem* probably shouldn’t ramble too much eheheheh, anywho I have really thought about this concept a lot and I really like it cause it’s so complicated!
G/t Concept: Borrower Apocalypse
Borrowers are revealed to the entire world. Everyone, everywhere suddenly knows about them.
There are a lot more than the Humans expected.
A cheap, reliable "Borrower Detector" hits the market almost overnight.
In less than a month about 80% of domestic Borrowers have been found by homeowners, completely at their mercy.
Now, a decade later, The species has been scattered to the winds...
Borrowers got their rights far too late. And they're nothing but empty words on a piece of paper.
Kidnapping a Borrower is laughably easy. Anyone can do it. And the police response is mostly dependent on whether or not they gave a shit. The laws are basically unenforced.
So, half the species has fucked off into the wilderness, and the other half takes their chances with Humans. As 'equals', as pets, or as one of the lucky few who were able to stay hidden.
The Humans live another day in a changed world.
But Borrowers? Their 'world' ended a long time ago…
Basically: What if Humans suddenly gained an ability / technology that makes it impossible for Borrowers to hide? And what if they all get found at the same time with no real warning?
(Also trying a new format here. Less fluff / theatrics. I'm hoping a simple bullet-pointed list will make the concept more adaptable and open-ended. Please let me know your thoughts)

Pairing: KK Arnold x Reader
Word count: 1127
My Masterlist :)
..................................................
The sound of wrapping paper crinkling caught your attention as soon as you stepped into the living room. There it was again—a package. Big and bold, the box sat atop your coffee table, tied with a ribbon that probably cost more than your weekly grocery bill.
You sighed heavily, already knowing what this meant. KK had done it again.
It wasn’t like she meant to overwhelm you, but it seemed like every time you mentioned something, even in passing, KK found a way to get it for you. Whether it was a bag you admired while scrolling online, a pair of shoes you tried on once, or even a limited edition gadget that you could easily live without—KK made it her mission to track it down.
And here it was. Another luxury gift.
With a heavy heart, you stepped closer to the box, trying to fight off the small flicker of excitement. Of course, you wanted to see what was inside. KK always had impeccable taste, and deep down, it made you feel special that she cared enough to remember the things you liked. But it was still too much, too often.
You couldn’t shake the thought: How much did this cost her?
Sighing, you sat on the couch, running a hand through your hair as you stared at the package. You didn’t need this. You didn’t ask for this. But KK? She never listened when it came to gifts.
Right on cue, the front door opened. KK strolled in with her usual confident energy, her presence filling the room as soon as she walked through the door. She was beautiful— an athletic build, with sharp features softened only by her easygoing smile. She carried herself like someone who could handle anything life threw at her, and when it came to you, she treated you like a queen.
"Hey, babe," she called, her voice lilting with amusement as she saw you sitting on the couch, your eyes on the package. "You seen it?"
"Of course I saw it," you said, shaking your head. "KK, seriously? I told you I don’t need all this stuff."
KK grinned, not at all fazed by your exasperation. She slipped off her jacket and walked over, sitting beside you. "But you want it, don’t you?"
You groaned softly, leaning back against the cushions. "That’s not the point. It’s expensive. I don’t want you spending all your money on things I don’t need."
KK leaned in closer, brushing a strand of hair behind your ear with the kind of gentleness that always made your heart flutter. "You deserve nice things. What’s the harm in that?"
You stared at her, feeling the familiar tug between guilt and affection. KK had always been this way—generous to a fault, especially when it came to you. It wasn’t about showing off or proving something; she just genuinely enjoyed spoiling you. It was her love language, but sometimes it made you feel like you couldn’t keep up.
She tilted her head, her eyes narrowing playfully as she reached out to tug the ribbon loose on the box. "Aren’t you curious?"
“KK…”
“Just open it. I promise it’s something small this time.”
You raised an eyebrow, knowing she was probably lying. But the sparkle in her eyes made it hard to say no. So, with a reluctant sigh, you started peeling away the wrapping paper, half dreading and half excited about what you’d find inside.
Your fingers hesitated as the box revealed its contents. Inside, nestled in a bed of tissue paper, was the designer purse you had admired months ago—a limited-edition piece from a luxury brand you could never justify buying for yourself.
“Oh my gosh…” you breathed, your hands lightly grazing the buttery leather. It was even more beautiful up close, the detailing intricate, the quality undeniable. You looked up at KK, your heart racing with a mix of excitement and guilt. “You remembered this?”
KK’s grin softened into something more genuine, a flicker of pride in her eyes. “Of course I did. You couldn’t stop talking about it for days.”
You swallowed hard, guilt gnawing at you again. “But this must have cost a fortune, KK. You really didn’t have to…”
“I wanted to.” Her voice was firm but kind, her hand coming up to rest on your knee, giving it a gentle squeeze. “I don’t care about the price, babe. I just want you to have the things that make you happy. You work so hard, and you never let yourself have nice things. So I’ll do it for you.”
You felt a lump form in your throat, emotions swirling inside you. KK always made it sound so simple, but the truth was, it wasn’t easy for you to accept this kind of generosity. It felt unfair, like you weren’t pulling your weight in the relationship.
“I don’t want you to think you have to buy me things to make me happy, though,” you said softly, placing the purse back in the box. “I already have everything I need with you.”
KK’s eyes softened, and she leaned in closer, her arm wrapping around your shoulders as she pulled you into her side. “I know that, love. But it’s not about having to buy it. It’s just… my way of showing you how much I care. If something makes you smile, then it’s worth it to me. You don’t have to feel bad about it.”
You rested your head against her shoulder, feeling the steady rise and fall of her breathing. KK had this way of making you feel safe and loved, even when your thoughts were tangled up in guilt. She was so confident, so sure of herself—and, more importantly, of her love for you.
After a long pause, you sighed, letting the tension drain out of you. “You’re too good to me, you know that?”
KK chuckled, pressing a soft kiss to your temple. “You deserve it, baby.”
You couldn’t help but smile at her confidence, at the way she always made you feel like the centre of her universe. “Just… maybe next time, talk to me before you go spending crazy amounts of money?”
KK raised an eyebrow, clearly teasing. “We’ll see.”
You gave her a playful nudge, and she laughed, wrapping you tighter in her embrace. Even though you knew KK wasn’t going to change anytime soon, part of you was okay with that. She was stubborn, but her love for you was unshakable. And, in the end, that was worth more than any gift she could ever buy.
As you leaned back into her, the two of you relaxing in each other’s presence, you realised that maybe being spoilt wasn’t so bad after all—especially when it came from someone like KK.

Beside me, James stirred, the heat from his body seeped through the blankets. Vanilla morning light shone through the curtains. His arm, in its usual place over my waist, felt better than anything.
I liked the way his body had changed over the years, his skin thick, chiseled from time and life lived. Tattoos stretched on his weathered frame, some a little faded, others as bold as ever. I traced my fingers along the lines of ink, feeling strength beneath his skin. His muscles were still solid, yet there came a softness in him now, one that could break its way through age.
His breath was slow, deep, still heavy. His messy white hair jutted out every which way, unruly from having tossed and turned during the night. His mustache was scruffy, rough against my cheek when he leaned in close to kiss me. His lips were warm, the kiss lazy, unhurried.
"Mornin', baby..." he muttered, his voice deep and gravelly like it always was in the morning.
I smiled into his chest, the rasp of his voice so close. "Morning," I whispered back, my fingers still tracing the lines of his tattoos.
His eyes were lidded and droopy, and opened slowly, catching mine. They were still as bold as ever, even if years had taken some of that edge off.
"Sleep okay?" he asked, his lips planting against my forehead as he spoke.
"Better now," I replied, snuggling closer into his big chest. His smell was so familiar. He smelled like leather, the faint scent of wood and something that was just... James.
He chuckled and his chest tremored under my head. "You're always better in the mornin', huh?" His hand rubbed in slow circles on my back, thick fingers so gentle.
I laughed softly and nodded. "Yeah, especially when you're here." I tilted my head up, catching his eyes once more. Light from the window lit his hair, making the silver and remaining blonde gleam.
He leaned in, his lips touching mine again this time softer, if that was even possible. His mouth stayed put, he had all the time in the world. When he pulled back, his forehead hit mine, his eyes fluttering closed.
"Don't wanna get up yet," he mumbled.
"Then don't," I whispered back, my hand dropping to his chest, his heart steadily thudding.
He laughed again. "You say that like I have a choice." His hand tightened around my waist, drawing me even closer in. "But I like this. Just you, me, and a lazy mornin'."
I could feel his heartbeat pump beneath my palm. His body was warm, and although the years were catching up, I couldn't be more in love. His hands were rough, calloused from years of playing guitar and working his ass off. Yet they were always gentle when they touched me.
"I like it too..." I whispered, leaning to press my lips against his chest, just over his heart.
He sighed, the sound content, and rolled onto his back, pulling me with him. I draped myself over him, feeling the rise and fall of his chest as he breathed deeply.
"You're staring," he chuckled, still sounding groggy. His eyes opened, glancing down at me with a smirk.
"Maybe," I admitted, smiling up at him.
"Admiring the view?" he teased, his hand running through his messy hair, managing to make it worse.
"Something like that," I smile, my fingers running over the tattoos on his arm again. I loved every single one of them.
He shifted slightly, his arm tightening around me. "You know, I'm not what I used to be.
I looked up at him, my brow furrowing slightly. "What do you mean?" his voice quieter.
"I'm older now. Slower. Not the same guy I was." I shook my head, my hand on his chest again. "You're still you. You're still strong. And you're mine. That's all that matters."
He stared at me a moment longer before a slow smile spread over his features. "Yeah, guess you're right."
I smiled back, leaning in to kiss him again. When I pulled back, his eyes remained on mine.
"Besides," I said, grinning, "you look pretty damn good for 61."
He chuckled loudly. "I'll take that," he said, his hand moving up and down my bare back. "But you make me feel younger."
I leaned in and kissed him again, his bare skin against mine. "I love you just the way you are."
His hand was against my cheek, his thumb gently caressed my body. "I love you too, baby," he whispered back.
Finally, he let out a great sigh and shifted beneath me. "We really should get up," he said.
"Do we have to?" I whined, faking a pout knowing he knew I didn't mean it.
He chuckled again, shaking his head. "I guess we could stay a little longer."
I smiled, burrowing into his chest. "Good. I'm not ready to let you go yet."
He pressed his lips against the top of my head, his kiss lingering. "I'm not going anywhere," he whispered quietly.
We lay silently, until his hand found mine, our fingers intertwining. It was a comforting heat, to be wrapped up in him. There was nowhere else I'd rather be.
"Guess we're stuck here, then," he said with a playful grin.
I smiled, shutting my eyes and laying my head on his chest. "Yeah," I whispered. "And I'm perfectly okay with that."
