Well, I wrote a third of the next chapter. Having my tabs open, like, slowdown my patch update, so I'm going to go and idk play a game on my PS4 or watch something to make it go quicker. It finished like half of the patch in, like, maybe 40 min, but it's still only at 62% because I just really wanted to get this next chapter started.

Every time I see a story about Hades and Persephone now, my mind starts clawing at the walls and screaming this is not what the story is supposed to be. This is not The Brand. The themeing is not there.
Demeter is not the bad guy, Hades is not the bad guy. If anything, Persephone is the bad guy. But she's not guilty, she's fated. It's a dance of themeing.
If Demeter is the bad guy, you take away the joy of summer and gratitude of spring. If Hades is the bad guy, you destroy the inevitability and softness of death. But Persephone.
The earth does not care if you die. The winter does not care if you slip on ice. The stone does not care if your ankle cracks. The world of circumstance is unkind and unapologetic. It's neither worse than Hades' death nor different; but it's to be feared. It's sudden and violent. It's a terror. The Dread Persephone.
The story of Persephone should be about self-discovery, not victimhood or tragic accidents.

Visual Novel/Comic mundane AU
How about mundane au with Magnus and Clary being the creators of a visual novel/comic series
(Clary does the drawings and Magnus the story),
and the both of them taking inspiration for the characters from the people they meet at a local coffee shop?
Alec, a secret comic nerd and huge fan of said visual novel/comic, and completely enamored with the wizard character in the series, gets even more into it when the story introduces an archer character who is immediately flirted with by the wizard.
And is it just his imagination, or does the wizard kinda resemble the cute asian guy he sometimes sees hunched over his laptop at his favorite coffee shop?

My disability-adjacent hot take is that subtitles alone aren't really enough. I have trouble differentiating where sound comes from, for instance, so it's wildly helpful to have clarification on where sound is supposed to be coming from (right versus left, ect).
On a related note, if your subtitles are not clear, accurate, or translated in the case of foreign language, your subtitles aren't good. I don't want to read a paraphrased, censored version of what people are saying. I want to know exactly what they're saying because omitting even one word can dramatically change the tone, implication, and the entire meaning of what is said.

Hi! I just wanted to tell you how much I love your “and the spell was cast” series, ESPECIALLY “love me at the ungodly hour”. Honestly, your prose and writing style, your characterization of the characters and your smut are FLAWLESS. Best bottomstat on the whole site. I religiously re-read the series at least once a month.
I don’t know if you accept suggestions or prompts or anything of ste sort, and it’s completely ok if you don’t, but I just came across this hilarious prompt https://x.com/flopstat/status/1835995675550511150?s=46 and I don’t think anyone would write it better than you! Would you consider making a fic of this? I genuinely think you’d be the best at doing it.
Thanks if you’ll reply <3
Hi! Ah! Thank you!! I'm still so overwhelmed with the response to my fics in this fandom (and Ungodly Hour in particular), and it honestly does mean so much when people reach out like this. Just - - yes! Thank you!
I do accept prompts! Actually, it was a lot of people asking me if I'd write Lestat and Louis talking about Magnus that got me to write Ungodly Hour, and a lot of people asking if I'd write a reunion fic that made me write Steady Murmur, haha, to say nothing of previous fandoms that I've written for. I love that twitter thread too (I actually think I might've seen it screencapped on here), and I especially laughed at the idea of Louis still ghosting Lestat at the end of it all, but I don't know if I'd be the best at writing it! I don't think I'm a very funny writer, which I feel like that concept needs?
That said, never say never! Inspiration may strike! I'd probably make it angstier than anyone wants though, especially because I think Lestat would not do well in therapy at all, haha.

getting invested in your own au is so dangerous because sometimes you'll start wanting to make an au of your au, and you'll come to a tough split point decision where you have to decide if you do that Or if you just make your idea canon to the first au, because no one can stop you
anyways. i need to be physically restrained from touching lucky jumbo right now

you are using krita!?!? I'm geniuenly delighted to hear this. Krita is such a good program for being free. I'm so happy to find more artists using it :D
haha yeah! i slowly transitioned to it after a couple years of using CSP and it's made painting so much easier bc of its pop-up palette :')

there's something I do about once a week over on my other art blog, where I write a bit about whatever I'm working on, and I thought I'd start doing something like that over here!
that knight-priest illustration took off way further than I thought it would! it was actually a test run for a short comic idea I had been fucking around with: a disgraced lord who killed his brother and becomes a knight as a form of penance and ends up falling in love with a franciscan.
and underneath that notebook is the notebook I've been writing bad governance in. it is. ohh. the edits are many. I forgot to keep track of the election cycles, which is a huge oversight, since many of the characters are politicians.

I should participate in the grand tumblr tradition and just post random scenes I’ve written for various fics I’ll never finish but alas i am personally not allowed to so instead they live on my computer in scrivener files where they will wither and die
