As I said at the beginning, I am not too invested with they royal watch, I do like Kate and Princess Anne, so I pay more attention to them, but I’m not a religious follower. But, when I started paying attention to all the drama that KP, the PR caused for Kate, I started paying a little more attention.
Is it me or do you all also find odd and are also seeing that the press and some fans are making Prince William the biggest victim in all this? Like, I see many people saying how much he is suffering, how difficult is for him to have not only his father but also his wife with that horrible disease! Or how he is poor dad taking care of the three children alone (when we also have learnt that even their grandmother is with them for Easter) . Don’t get me wrong, I think many are speaking in the perspective of him also losing his mother at a young age, and having sympathy, I mean, I have sympathy for him too in some way.
But I don’t see as many people ‘worried’ about the Wales’ children as they are for W, for example. I know those children are well and they have many people who are supporting them now, but still, I have more sympathy for them right now and for Kate than any other person. I don’t know, it’s very odd for me, are people like that all the time with him? I don’t know, their PR is also odd, one day he is damn worried, the next he is apparently the glue on their house, one day he is vulnerable, the next he is the strongest man on earth. I see many inconsistencies with some fans and press. I don’t know, Chemo isn’t a path of roses, it’s really hard, and people seriously believe that W is the one having it more difficult? 😬
You're not wrong in your thinking.
There are two main things going on:
All the reporters who are on the royal beat have story quotas to fulfill, so they will pump out non-stories using whatever the main current storyline is. The current storyline is that The Wales family's life is a tragedy regarding Kate. Therefore, we should all feel sorry for William, even when he uses a helicopter to attend a Aston Villa football game more than a hundred miles away from Anmer Hall in Norfolk. Add in a lack of other royal stories happening because King Charles is out of the public eye, yet the tabs don't consider Ed, Sophie, or Anne story-worthy material.
The UK tabs also have a simplistic take when framing members of the BRF, i.e. good person vs bad person. This is why QEII was always written about favorably, even when she made blunders that damaged the monarchy, e.g. Diana, Andrew, etc. It's also why Charles was written about in negative tones, even though he has always fulfilled his duties and done his job, unlike both his sons. The UK media as a whole doesn't do nuance very well.

BP telling us about events coming this weekend for Eugbea, Tim & Anne, Sophie & Ed. And then BP says, “events that will be attended by W&K will be announced by KP in due course”
I wonder what the reason is for having KP announce separately? Details not finalized? Keeping houses separate?
Allegedly BP and KP have had a huuuuuge bust up bc a BP staff member went to KP and used the last of the milk from the fridge without replacing it. So KP sent a passive aggressive email about milk etiquette and BP said “that’s not how we do things here”. So now the press are like “what ab willy k8” and BP are all like

Session 51 Sep 18 2021: “No! Get out of my orifices!”
Right - where were we? Oh yes, we fought some piranha and found some chests and some Duergar statues. We fill Mina in on what she missed; she offers to craft Gideon a new finger.
“No… No, I don’t want your goblin crafts on my body!”
Then there’s some waffle about covid deniers. (Ed believes covid is real; Gideon does not.)
Who wants control of the urine-drenched sorcerer? Sophie, OOC: “You make it sound so appealing.”
She agrees to take Ahleqs, if Matthew will help her out.
Now, when I put a message on the group chat earlier to ask if we were starting at the usual time tonight, our illustrious DM messaged back to say ‘Yep yep yep thumbs up emoji smiley face emoji’ which was far too enthusiastic. We are all now very wary. Ardvack slams a potion before we get started.
Right, where were we going? There is still a strange magical island with a wall around it to explore. There is a boat that leads to it; Gideon advances to Investigate. It looks old but in good shape and water-tight. There are oars. He thinks three will fit in it; he volunteers as do Tarragon and Melaina. Gideon, sternly: “No pilfering, rogue.”
Tarragon rows us across. Do the others want her to go back and pick them up? Apparently not.
Gideon investigates the magical barrier, which is blocking the door, but rolls a nat 1. We make Perception checks - the giant statue of the dwarves god of crafts has an offering bowl at his feet, with something written in Dwarvish. Gideon would read it, but Ed’s buggered off.
“You cannot enter this room.”
Tarragon decides to take this as a challenge. She takes out a gold piece and puts it in the offering bowl; nothing happens so she takes it back out. Gideon covers the ‘not’ part of the carving so it reads 'you can enter this room', but that doesn’t seem to help either.
Tarragon looks at the magical wall. It’s blue, and looks a similar colour to the brazier in the other room. Could we light a torch from the brazier and try waving that at the wall? Maybe. In the meantime Gideon puts some food in the bowl; nothing doing.
Ardvack, shouting across the water: “Have you tried blood?”
Gideon squeezes some blood from his severed finger stump - still nothing. Tarragon rows the boat back to get Kessler, who has hopefully been lighting one of her torches. She has not been able to light her torch from the brazier, however; it won't catch.
Is the bowl loose? Could we pick it up? No, it’s attached to the floor. Could Kessler pick up the brazier? It won’t move either. Time for stupid ideas.
“Hey Carl,” shouts Kessler pointing at the brazier, “put your hand in that.” Carl does not. Kessler gets just such a doggy look from Ardvack; she laughingly tells him she can’t tell because he has no face. Instead he leans down and says snottily, “Carl is precious.” He investigates the brazier. Can he feel warmth coming off it? Nat 20.
There is no heat coming off it. It does create light, but there is no noise. It is not consuming anything physical. He doesn’t think it’s evil or necessarily good; it’s just a spiritual fire. Ahleqs does an Arcana check. It’s some kind of divine magic; he is fairly certain it could be extinguished with a high enough levelled Dispel Magic spell.
Ardvack puts his hand in the brazier; it doesn’t burn him. He puts his whole head in. He’s a bit light-blinded afterward for a minute or so, but is otherwise unharmed.
Tarragon has Dispel Magic, but doesn’t have it prepared. What about Ahleqs? He doesn’t have the spell at all.
Gideon wants to rest his battle-axe on the offering bowl; he does that, but nothing happens. He rescinds the axe. Perhaps crafts, considering the nature of the god? Perhaps something he’s made?
Ahleqs has Ardvack’s leather face mask at the moment; since that was made by Kessler, perhaps we could try that.
Melaina is Investigating the door behind the wall of force. She can see beyond it to a ruined dock. If she puts her hands out to the wall of force, she can feel it though it doesn’t harm her. Would putting the brazier out remove the wall? She rolls a low Insight check and doesn’t know. Gideon rolls a low Religion check as well; he doesn’t know either.
“Alright Goblin, you’re up. Do your thing,” says Gideon. She puts Ardvack's mask in the bowl, but still nothing happens.
DM offers a clue if we roll good on Insight; Ardvack, Melaina and Gideon all do. They think the inscription refers to the desired offering. Gideon wants to put something in the bowl that would not fit in the door.
What about a fish? They breathe air, and so could not pass anywhere above the water. Tarragon steps into the bowl and Wild Shapes into a fish; still nothing happens. She changes back. Is this one of those children’s riddles that we should have definitely got by now? Joe says we will absolutely kick ourselves when we get it.
Ardvack picks a handful of mushrooms - and that bloody well works. You cannot enter this ‘room. Goddammit. Joe removes the wall. If Ardvack had a face, he’d be looking smug.
We go through. Goblin shield goes first. She sees something horrible - it is currently standing motionless. It looks like a huge dwarf in heavy armour, but made of stone, and there is a faint red glow emanating from its chest. There is an open chest next to it full of shiny shinies; Kessler points them out to Melaina, possibly in hopes that she will go first. Melaina, sadly for Kessler, does not fall for this trick.
Ardvack ventures too close and it spots him - initiative time. (Ed has disappeared again. While we wait, we discuss Matthew’s zombie campaign. We will all be level 2 when we return, which gives us an ability called Zombie Grab. Matthew and Sophie order pizza.)
Tarragon Potions and readies a Thorn Whip (which always reminds Sophie of a Walnut Whip. Not the Ann Summers sort of whip, Joe asks? No, but interesting that his mind went there.) Melaina hides and shoots - 24 hits, for 22 damage. Her bow is magical, correct? Yes. Good. Okay. Bits of rock fall off the golem. Hooray!
Does she want to move, say, to run away? (Oh shit.) She moves back so everyone else can get in.
Kessler takes aim with her crossbow. 24 hits for 7 damage, and her weapon is magical as well. She reloads and shoots again for 7 more damage while Matthew and Sophie decide what Ahleqs is going to do.
They decide that he will cast Shatter on the golem. Ba-boom! It has to make a Constitution save - at Disadvantage. “Because you’re made of stone. Like an idiot.” But it gets Advantage on saves versus magic, so that’s just a straight roll. 13. “Ha! You lose!” It takes 19 Thunder damage. Ahleqs cheers, then hides behind Tarragon.
It rushes at us - Tarragon looses her Thorn Whip but misses.
Carl uses his big stick that Tarragon gave him, but misses, almost hitting everyone else around him. He was excited. He doesn’t move, but holds the line.
Gideon is up. “Ed stop eating sausages!”
“… How did you know what I was doing.”
He Acid Splashes it. The Golem fails the save, even with Advantage, and takes 9 Acid Damage.
Like the hero he has proved himself to be, Ardvack does a cautious tactical repositioning to get away from the golem, does Shksdjlsdglsghjkhhbllhh, and then casts Eldritch Blast. It hits, and more stone crumbles off the golem.
Tarragon does Greater Shlgljksdkgjfhl;jjjhh, just to flex on Ardvack, and hits it for 11 Bludgeoning. She bares her teeth at the golem.
Melaina falls back a little, and shoots again. Matthew and Sophie suddenly seem unable to hear the rest of us, so there is a short recess while we sort that out. Their wifi has died. I decide, in my infinite wisdom, to restart my computer; of course, it decides to install something without even asking and so I am still waiting for it long after Matthew and Sophie return. I miss a bunch of stuff; some people do some damage, and the golem does a thing where it forces a Wisdom save - those that fail have their speed halved, and can do an action OR a bonus action on their turn, but not both. Joe makes an attack for me, which hits. Tarragon is pleased. And then I’m back!
The golem is looking ropey. Its light is still glowing, but bits are falling off it. It turns on Carl, even though Kessler has imposed Disadvantage on it if it attacks anyone but her. 14 still hits, as does 29, and he takes THIRTY NINE damage. Carl is now on zero, having had exactly 39 HP previously.
Matthew, sounding worried: “This changes things.”
Carl makes a real death save - and fails. "No! Carl!"
Gideon's turn - and Ed has snuck off again. Or fallen asleep. We skip him for now and move on to Ardvack. “I’ll save you Carl!” Then, to himself as he runs, “Not my precious Carl…” He casts Life Transference. (A lovely, sacred, holy Cleric spell.) He saves Carl, but instantly regrets walking closer to the golem.
Tarragon batters it for 16 damage - the light begins to flicker and sputter in its chest. Does she want to move? “Nope!” She could bonus action dive in the water with the Quippers if she wanted? “… No thank you.”
Melaina does a Scorching Ray - one of the three hits for 7 fire damage total. It’s looking ‘exceedingly ropey’ but is still up.
Kessler gets the how-de-do-dis with her Thunder Gauntlets - she runs up it and yells “Red means stop!” and punches it in the chest. It falls to the ground in a big pile of rubble. We solved Joe’s Golem puzzle!
Matthew, immediately: “Loot its corpse!”
Kessler is holding the gem from its chest; it is no longer glowing. Ardvack sets about the treasure chest. It is open, and there is gold inside. He clicks on the loot chest, and adds 100gp to the 3000cp he finds. (428 cp, and 14gp each.)
Kessler: “Anyone got a Transmute spell?” (That's a lot of coins.)
Ardvack shares out the treasure as equally as possible. Kessler finds herself overburdened. Melaina slyly: “I could carry your treasure for you.”
Kessler: “No thank you.”
Where to next? There was a rope bridge in the room with the brazier that led to an island with a dead giant spider on it; Joe zips us all there for expediency.
Melaina crosses the bridge to approach the ‘very very dead’ spider; it looks like its moving around. Not the legs, but as if there’s something moving under the skin…
A swarm of maggots burst out of the spider, taking her by surprise. They swarm up her legs and over her flesh.
Melaina, equally horrified and furious: “No! Get out of my orifices!”
(This is why Joe was so pleased earlier isn’t it.)
She now has two rot grubs burrowing under her skin. We’ve all heard of these, the subject of adventurer’s tales swapped in taverns. Melaina knows she has to burn them while they’re still just under her skin, or they will burrow to her heart and kill her.
Well shit.
We roll initiative…
Ardvack fails at Eldritch Blast, and the grubs become resistant to that type of damage (Force I think?) for 1d4 rounds. (4. Fuck.)
Ahleqs does a Burning Hands at them. They fail the save and take 6 fire damage. Several screech, and curl up and burn.
Melaina wants to cast Scorching Ray on herself - she can do that. She takes two fire damage, and the grubs die. She can spend the rest of her action to squeeze them back out of the holes they burrowed in through. Delightful.
Tarragon moves to the side and Thunderwaves the swarm - they fail the save and are pushed off the bridge into the water to be eaten by the Quippers. Yay! Everyone wins! We move forward, Melaina at the head.
DM suddenly: “Stop there, Melaina!”
Us immediately: “Oh no!”
She finds a door with a shape carved in it - the gem that Kessler took from the golem looks like it would fit in there. That is not relevant right now, however, as she has charged forward and tripped a trip wire. She fails her Dex save and a giant ballista bolt sticks her for 14 damage. Could have been a lot worse. She decides she’s not doing anything else, even when tempted with a treasure chest; she goes to sit in a corner and sulk.
The treasure chest is on a different island, reachable only via a broken bridge. Kessler suggests throwing the dead spider into the water to distract the Quippers while we jump across.
Do we want to take a short rest first? Yes. Tarragon makes up some Relaxing Bark, allowing everyone to regain a couple of Hit Dice which we roll, and take potions. Ardvack casts Life Transference on Carl again.
We are about to move on when the DM has us all roll a d20. Uh oh. Anyone who got ten or more can get five more HP back, as we burned incense in a temple. Yay!
Matthew, grumbling: “Oh as soon as we get a long rest, you can bet I’m going to be re-summoning Admiral Pancakes…”
Do we want to jump the bridge after the treasure? Is it worth it? Melaina wants to; the rest of us are dubious. How far can she jump with a run-up? Ten feet. She could jump it.
“Alright then, I’ll do it. Whoosh.” Kessler follows her.
Melaina checks for traps - an 8. She can’t see any! Sophie, OOC, resignedly: “Oh, right, okay.”
She checks the chest itself and finds a trap mechanism - some nozzles sticking out of the ground next to the chest. She makes a roll with her thieves tools, and by the skin of her teeth (13) disarms it. It would have been bad; one nozzle would have squirted her with flammable liquid and the other would have set her on fire. She finds a Brooch of Shielding! There is another item, a ring, which seems magical; Kessler takes eleven minutes and casts Identify as a ritual. It’s a ring of Swimming!
Melaina gives the brooch to Ahleqs, as he would almost certainly appreciate anything that would give him some extra protection. We decide to crack on, as it would take another hour for him to attune to it. Besides, the longer we’re down here the more this place sucks so we’re all eager to leave.
Kessler puts the gemstone into the hole in the door and it creaks open; we walk through. We enter some tunnels, which are very claustrophobic after the caverns. It’s very dark. We follow them until we come out into another large cavernous room.
We jump to another map…
There are more islands with about ten foot tall towers with glowing orbs at the top. More water, and a broken stone bridge. (Is anyone reminded of Beverly?)
The bad news is, this room has glowing orb lights, a broken bridge, and more islands. The good news is, it seems quiet enough that we could take a long rest.
Kessler does her Alarm spell, and Carl - not needing to sleep - takes all the watches. We all take turns to watch with him as “his Perception is for shit.”
Kessler takes first, Tarragon takes second, and Melaina third.
Carl and Kessler make Perception checks. A 3 and a 6; oh dear. Kessler thinks she hears water noises, but it could be just the water on the shore.
Then Tarragon and Carl. 13 for Tarragon and a 16 for Carl. We watch some bats flitting about in the light from the strange tower; nothing dangerous, however. Everyone but Tarragon now completes their long rest. She retires, and Melaina and Carl roll Perception.
Carl is on fire tonight; a 17. He makes an Intelligence check - a 9. That’s actually not bad. After about 3 hours he becomes agitated and tries to say something, but can’t. Melaina’s nostrils are assailed with a foul stench; she looks to the water to see something breaking the surface of it. Which means that whatever it is doesn’t get a surprise round…
Melaina and Carl roll initiative. Carl has used all his good rolls on Perceiving. But he’s ready for anything; he’s got his stick.
Whatever is crawling out of the water looks like a troll, but dripping with horrible ichorous black ooze and smelling like a busy harbour at low tide.
Matthew, OOC: “They smell like a bonfire of nappies. No - a burning zoo.”
Melaina hides behind some mushrooms; triggering Kessler’s Alarm spell as she leaves the area (because Kessler didn’t specify otherwise). We all wake, and can roll Initiative next round. Melaina takes aim with her longbow. 19 to hit with Sharpshooter, which does. She gets a nat 1 for her Sneak/Sharpshooter which is only a measly 25 total, plus her bow’s damage of 9 for 34. The thing lets out a howl, which would have woken us if the Alarm spell hadn’t.
It approaches us. It’s wearing a loincloth; small mercies.
Everyone but Ardvack and Melaina makes CON saves as the troll runs a filthy claw down its own forearm for a venom spray attack. Gideon and Tarragon take 18 poison damage and are poisoned. The others take half damage and are not poisoned. Now it does its multi-attack.
It has a bite at Tarragon but misses, then a claw at Kessler and misses. Then it claws at Gideon, and misses again. Ha!
Another one shambles up, but doesn’t attack yet. It’s Carl’s turn; he uses his zombie agility to run up to one of the trolls and give it a good old Slam - “Classic Slam - ” and uses his Zombie Grab to try and grapple it. They make contested STR checks - Carl wins even with a 14. The bad news is that part of the troll’s corpulence is ruptured, emitting a black foul ichor into the air - Tarragon and Kessler take more damage as it, however unintentionally, does an Acid Splash.
“… Thanks Carl.”
Melaina goes first. She goes to move but takes 15 Force damage from the towers. What??? Sophie OOC, to Matthew: “Honey, I’m being shot by the nasty tower.” She was just inside its range. She shoots one of the trolls. She hits, and causes another Acid Splash. Tarragon has just woken up from a Long Rest, and is now under half HP. Melaina does do 34 damage to the troll though.
Gideon, with advice from Matthew, casts Grease under the troll that Carl is *not* grappling. This seems a classic ‘Grease’ situation. It rolls a DEX save, and fails, falling prone.
Tarragon casts Lesser Restoration on herself, ending the Poisoned effect, Rages, and steps out of range of the Venom spray.
Ahleqs screams the incantation for Mage Armour, and steps back also. Kessler’s turn, and she will risk stepping back. One is restrained and the other prone, so no attack of Opportunity. She takes out her crossbow and shoots at the one grappled by Carl. 20 hits for 11 piercing damage. “And I will shoot that sucker again.” 17 also hits for 7 damage. She drinks one of her potions; wise.
Carl takes 18 poison from Kessler’s attacks on the troll, but he’s immune to poison. Carl has the Grappler feat, so even though the troll is a size larger than him it doesn’t get Advantage on the Strength check to free itself. They roll straight Strength checks - Carl rolls a ten, and the troll rolls a 6, even with a plus four modifier.
The prone one uses half its movement to stand up and moves forward, biting at Kessler - 26 to hit. It actually hits her! Even Shield won’t do it! She takes 6 piercing and 6 poison damage, and is poisoned until the start of the troll’s next turn.
It claws twice at Tarragon; “Bring it.”
24 hits, the ten doesn’t. Ten slashing (halved to 5) and 6 poison (not halved). She’s at 19HP now, and hasn't even attacked yet.
Ardvack wakes up to see the trolls attacking. “Ah. It must be Wednesday.” Matthew, OOC: “Im going to do… something… stupid. Or… brilliant.” Seeing the damage Tarragon and Kessler have taken, he heals Tarragon for 11HP. She blinks with surprise, and he backs up.
We call it there as it's getting late...

Page 4: Anne Heche’s shocking public pronouncement that she wants to reunite with former galpal Ellen DeGeneres was met with fury from Ellen wife Portia de Rossi -- Ellen and Anne were Hollywood’s highest-profile lesbian couple when they dated for three years before their bitter split in 2000 and they haven’t spoken since but Anne announced after her elimination on Dancing with the Stars that she would love to appear on The Ellen DeGeneres Show but Portia has made it clear she wants Anne nowhere near her wife and she believes Anne is using Ellen to drum up publicity for herself, lonely Ryan Seacrest is longing for a reunion with former flame Shayna Taylor but she wants no part of him -- workaholic Ryan announced the combustible couple’s third split in June after eight on-and-off years together -- Ryan’s obsession with being the next Dick Clark tests the patience of everybody around him and it’s made him a nightmare to be in a relationship with as Shayna found out firsthand -- Ryan seemed so cocky and sure that breaking up was the right thing to do but not having Shayna there to lean on has really gotten to him however Shayna is refusing to be played for a fool
Page 5: Kelly Clarkson made a massive mistake dumping husband Brandon Blackstock according to famed numerologist Glynis McCants
Page 6: Doting dad Kanye West is spoiling oldest daughter North rotten and it’s causing even more problems between him and wife Kim Kardashian because Kim feels North is getting too spoiled but Kanye won’t hear any of it because North is his firstborn and his princess and he treats her like it -- North is regularly served breakfast in bed on a silver tray and gets whatever she wants even if it’s waffles with strawberries and ice cream and she also has a team of beauticians and a stylist to cater to her every need as though she was a full-grown woman and her wardrobe is extensive and expensive and she never wears the same designer outfit twice plus North also loves to shop online for jewelry and Kanye gives her his credit card and she can spend $100,000 in a single sitting and Kanye just thinks it’s cute
Page 7: Daring Jill Duggar and husband Derick Dillard are rebelling against her conservative parents and causing a full-scale family war as the couple has publicly defied Baptist patriarch Jim Bob Duggar several times since their 2014 marriage and now they’ve been banned from the 19 Kids and Counting reality clan; Jim Bob’s even demanded that their neighbors have nothing to do with them -- Jill and Derick drew Jim Bob’s fury after criticizing her parents’ conservative views and shutting down their own family factory after having two sons and said they’re stopping there for now unlike Jill’s folks who had 19 kids, dog lover Jennifer Aniston adores her new rescue puppy but potty-training the pooch has been the pits so desperate Jen had to sign up her new pup Lord Chesterfield for private lessons with a dog trainer -- she has two other dogs Clyde and Sophie but they’re well-behaved and know to do their business outdoors and Jen loves them all but she forgot how much work it is to train a puppy
Page 8: Prince Harry’s wife Meghan Markle revealed her private battle with depression as her struggles with first-time motherhood and fitting in with the rigid royal family pushed her over the edge but Queen Elizabeth thinks her conniving confession is simply a ploy to sully the monarchy -- Meghan described the emotional pain caused by criticism as a death by a thousand cuts and said if people are saying things about you that aren’t true what that does to your mental and emotional health is so damaging -- Queen Elizabeth believes Meghan’s confession is a calculated attack on the monarchy and Meghan is acting like the royals waged a war against her but Meghan and Harry’s actions since they quit have infuriated Her Majesty because Meghan keeps orchestrating situations where she takes center stage appearing to support and put the spotlight on those in need but she turns them all into opportunities to talk about herself and how hard her struggle is
Page 9: Rattled Tyra Banks’ rocky start on Dancing with the Stars has her looking for a way to waltz off the show and she is already trying to back out of hosting because she hates the criticism she’s been getting from virtually everyone plus she’s unpopular with the contestants and is bickering behind the scenes with producers who now regret replacing longtime hosts Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews -- ratings have also plummeted since Tyra took the helm with the show losing more than a million viewers in early October from the same week in 2019

Page 12: Straight Shuter -- Nev Schulman on roller blades in an L.A. parking lot (picture), Eboni K. Williams only landed the gig on The Real Housewives of New York City because she co-hosts State of the Culture on Sean Diddy Combs’ Revolt TV cable network and Bravo is desperate to get famous New Yorkers on the show so cameras will be following Eboni around at work hoping to catch Diddy, with Keeping Up with the Kardashians ending E! is looking for the next big reality family and it may be Sylvester Stallone’s daughters Sophia and Sistine and Scarlet Stallone who are all models and not one has a sex tape, with Bravo boss Andy Cohen and axed Housewife NeNe Leakes at war their mutual friends are being forced to pick sides -- Andy gave NeNe access to his famous non-reality show friends and now he’s regretting it -- Kelly Ripa and Anderson Cooper are all Team Andy
Page 13: Kris Kristofferson is battling Alzheimer’s disease and has been forced to retire from singing and acting but the songwriter is in the best place he can be at his home in Maui with family and friends who are surrounding him with love and support, frantic Kate Gosselin is feeling a financial pinch and ready to take a bath on her house by putting her $1.2 million mansion on the market for a measly $815,000 because she’s been struggling with money because she hasn’t worked in a while and living off the money she made in past

Page 16: Cover Story -- Rampaging O.J. Simpson was driven into a kill-crazy rage after seeing photos of his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson dating hunky young boytoys and flaunting her body in modeling shots -- 25 years after the disgraced football star’s 1995 acquittal intimate images from Nicole’s secret photo album including a picture of the blond beauty posing topless with lover Brett Shaves is believed to have given the jealous ex-jock a motive for murder
Page 18: American Life -- I found a $1M diamond in the rough
Page 19: John Travolta paid tribute to wife Kelly Preston on what would have been her 58th birthday three months after tragic death following a secret two-year battle with breast cancer -- John addressed his late love in a touching Instagram post featuring an image from their 1991 wedding day alongside a picture of his own parents as newlyweds, sci-fi legend George Takei has fired yet another shot at former Star Trek castmate William Shatner as the aging actors’ war of words continues to rage on well into their 80s -- George who played Sulu claimed Shatner was jealous of the amount of fan mail received by their late co-star Leonard Nimoy who played Spock but Captain Kirk shot off a testy response and claimed George was making things up and the only person with jealousy is George -- when told Shatner’s comments George calmly remarked that you can tell by those words that he is upset to put it mildly
Page 20: In a rerun of their long-running rivalry Madonna and Mariah Carey are prepping dueling biopics -- their cold war dates back to the ‘90s but Mariah ramped up their feud when she revealed the very exciting prospect of her biopic but that followed Madonna’s announcement that she was collaborating on her own script -- they’re each obsessed with getting their film out first and getting the right It Girl to play her so the other one doesn’t grab her first

Page 34: India Oxenberg has confessed she was afraid of former NXIVM cult master Allison Mack of TV’s Smallville -- India found herself Allison’s slave and realized she was being groomed as a sexual partner for NXIVM leader Keith Raniere and she was branded with Raniere’s initials in her pelvic regions, a disturbing TV interview in England has sparked new fears for the well-being on boxer Mike Tyson -- Mike looked like the train wreck he was when he was plowing through drugs and was sent to prison in the early ‘90s; he looked barely conscious as he slurred his speech and offered incoherent responses -- Tyson blamed his interview on lack of sleep and insisted his contact with drugs is now limited to growing and smoking pot on his California ranch

TRANSMISSIONS
www.twitch.tv/transmissions2020
Our collective isolation highlights that all forms of community are now more important than ever, and it is vital that we find mechanisms to support each other through this precarious time. In this extraordinary landscape that we have found ourselves in, it is clear that many artists, writers and thinkers are having exhibitions, opportunities and subsequent fees cancelled for the foreseeable future. In response to this, we are establishing a new project called TRANSMISSIONS. This is an online platform which will commission artists to share their work within a classic DIY TV show format.

Episode 2 | 30 April | 9PM GMT REPLAY | 1 May | 9AM GMT w/ Sophie Jung
Sophie Jung, The Bigger Sleep, 2019 courtesy the artist and Kunstmuseum Basel. Photo: Julian Salinas
Working across text, sculpture and performance, Sophie Jung’s work navigates the politics of re/er/re/presentation and challenges the reductive desire to conclude. Her texts unfocus on blurring scripted hegemonies and tap, hop, stammer and stumble over and across languaged powers. She employs humour, shame, the absurd, raw anger, rhythm and rhyme, slapstick, hardship, friendship and a constant stream of slippages. Her sculptural work consists of bodies made up of both found and haphazardly produced attributes and defines itself against the dogma of an Original Idea or a Universal Significance. Instead it stands as a network of abiding incompletion, an ever-changing choir of urgencies and pleasures, traumas and manifestations that communally relay between dominant and minor themes. Sophie Jung is invested in triggering a de-categorising of concepts and a deconceptualisation of categories and understands her approach to “stuff” – both legible utensil and metaphoric apparition – as an uncertain queering slash querying of historical materialism. Sophie Jung (lives and works in Basel and London) received a BFA from the Rietveld Academy, Amsterdam, and a MFA from Goldsmiths, London. Recent projects and exhibitions include Sincerity Condition at Casino Luxembourg, Woman Standing at The National Gallery, Prague, Taxpayer’s Money for Frieze LIVE; Dramatis Personaea at JOAN, Los Angeles; The Bigger Sleep at Kunstmuseum Basel | Gegenwart and Block Universe, London; Come Fresh Hell or Fresh High Water at Blain Southern, London; Producing My Credentials at Kunstraum London and Paramount VS Tantamount at Kunsthalle Basel. She is currently working on solo exhibitions at E.A. Shared Space, Istituto Svizzero in Milan and Galerie Joseph Tang in Paris and works as a guest mentor at Institut Kunst, Basel.

Episode 4 | 14 May | 9PM GMT REPLAY | 15 May | 9AM GMT w/ Johanna Hedva – Tom Cruise Studies with expert guests Vivian Ia and Matthew Miller
Tom Cruise Studies is a meander of curiosity. There is no driving inquiry other than the question, "What's, like, up with Tom Cruise?" Hedva considers the various roles Cruise has played onscreen and in public, from religious zealot, to cocky upstart, to a man oppressed by his own masculinity, to couch-jumping love-nut, to an exiled actor who clawed his way back into Hollywood via a maniacal obsession with doing death-certain stunts. Joined by two expert guests, Hedva and Vivian Ia will consider the astrology charts of Cruise and L. Ron Hubbard, while Matthew Miller will share his theory that the Mission Impossible franchise is Cruise's vehicle for making public apologies to his ex-wife, Katie Holmes.
Johanna Hedva is a Korean-American writer, artist, musician, and astrologer, who was raised in Los Angeles by a family of witches, and now lives in LA and Berlin. Hedva is the author of the novel, On Hell. Their collection of poems, performances, and essays, Minerva the Miscarriage of the Brain, will be published in September 2020. Their essay, "Sick Woman Theory," published in Mask in 2016, has been translated into six languages, and their writing has appeared in Triple Canopy, frieze, The White Review, and Asian American Literary Review. Their work has been shown at The Institute of Contemporary Arts in London, Performance Space New York, the LA Architecture and Design Museum, and the Museum of Contemporary Art on the Moon, as well as featured in parrhesiades. Their album, The Sun and the Moon, was released in March 2019, and they’re currently touring Black Moon Lilith in Pisces in the 4th House, a doom metal guitar and voice performance influenced by Korean shamanist ritual.
Vivian Ia lives in Berlin. Their poetry is Pushcart-nominated and has appeared or is forthcoming in Bone Bouquet, Tiny Seed, The Gravity of the Thing, Fourteen Hills, and Berkeley Poetry Review.
Matthew Miller is a video director from Sacramento, California. He works in both live-action and animation to create short films and commercial projects. In the last four years, he’s directed a series of short films for The Getty Museum with artists and authors such as Ellsworth Kelly, Yo-Yo Ma, Mary Beard, Mario Vargas Llosa, and Ed Ruscha. He is currently in quarantine with his wife and Snoopy-esque dog, Millie, in Hawaiian Gardens, California, where he has been dividing his time between starting a garden and collecting ideas for a film project.
Episode 5
| 21 May | 9PM GMT
REPLAY | 22 May | 9AM GMT
w/ STRAWBERRY JAM: A LITERARY HOUR with
Mykki Blanco
Join musician Mykki Blanco for an hour of music and poetry readings. Spoken word, lyrical breakdowns, a presentation on two 20th century American literary figures Bob Kaufman & Mina Loy as well as a first time listen to new unreleased musical project.
Episode 6 | 28 May | 9PM GMT REPLAY | 29 May | 9AM GMT w/ CAConrad with invited poets
CAConrad's latest book JUPITER ALIGNMENT: (Soma)tic Poetry Rituals, is forthcoming from Ignota Books in 2020. The author of 9 books of poetry and essays, While Standing in Line for Death (Wave Books), won the 2018 Lambda Book Award. I'll have the, uh, lemme see...#7 and/or 24 from the fandom meme menu, please.
Favorite TV show episodes of the year: Ooh, this is a tricky one! Here’s some that came to mind:
Game of Thrones 8.02 - When, briefly, everything was great and poignant. It is truly the too baddest of the too bads that they didn’t just end the entire series here.
Vicious series finale - So many unexpected emotions!! So much fine acting!
It’s very hard for me to pick a favorite episode of The Durrells because they’re all so great, but I really love the one where they have the seance in season two. Also, the series finale, which was very full of feelings and wonderful.
5x02 of Grace and Frankie, full of so many wonderful “Let’s be squatters at our old house” adventures and delights.
The Schitt’s Creek episode where Patrick’s parents come to town.
Good Omens episode 3 for the most iconic cold open in all of TV.
The Broad City series finale. So many feelings!
That episode of The Orville where Ed and Kelly battled for the affections of blue alien Rob Lowe. How I lol’d even though technically it was a problematic concept! (Sometimes, one simply must lol.)
The second-to-last episode of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend season four, because i was really thrilled by the idea of Greg and Rebecca getting back together. (Which they then, of course, DIDN’T.) That last scene!!
The episode of Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt where Titus joins the cast of Cats. Spectacular. Unparalleled. The Cats movie should’ve been canceled then and there.
3.07 of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel – I found the culmination of the whole Sophie plot SUCH thrilling and suspenseful and anxiety-inducing television in such a great way. Also, Cary Elwes was there, which is always fun for me.
3.01 of Anne with an E, which just made me so happy and was so full of light & loveliness.
I think that’s probably enough for now?? (That’s a lie! Never enough!)
Fandom resolutions for next year: To not care about anything too much so I can’t be too disappointed, haha! (Here’s looking at you, Game of Thrones.) My very most beloved show Anne with an E was taken from us, so hopefully I will be able to stick to this. Killing Eve is the only one where it’s still like, Uh oh, I’m really invested in this, my heart’s in danger! (Well, and all my favorite sitcoms that I don’t want to see canceled, but let us not even speak of that.)

They need him for what exactly? Sorry but harry is an ungrateful man who deserves the reality he is living in right now. Harry definitely needs the monarchy and his family but the monarchy and his family doesn’t need him. Definitely not after everything he has done.
William and Kate were never supposed to be the only major people working full time for the family. Edward, Sophie, and Anne will have to retire eventually (people forget that Anne, unstoppable as she is, is in her 70s). Charles and Camilla are even older - though they won’t likely “retire,” they’ll slow down the way QEII did before her passing (maybe Camilla will “retire” once she’s really old like Philip did but idk). Regardless, in the next 10-15 years, you’ll see the retirement (or at the very least a major reduction in work quantity and capability) for nearly the entire current working British Royal Family. Edward and Sophie are sort of young enough to back up William and Kate until the kids are of age but that brings us to a whopping 4 working royals, 2 of whom do not get the media coverage the family needs (and those same 2 who are more than 15 years older than WK). The current working family as it is now is aging faster than it is replenishing and therefore their touch and outreach will diminish before anyone can step in to fill the gaps. The majority of the current working family will (frankly) die off or retire before it can replenish with the Wales kids.
That’s where Harry was supposed to come in. William, Kate, Harry, and Meghan were the future of the working family until the kids aged into it. Once the kids aged into it, then Harry and Meghan were still meant to serve a role similar to Edward and Sophie do currently, who will eventually die as part of the firm. The next gen (George/Charlotte/Louis and spouses/maybe Archie/Lili part-time, as HRHs) were supposed to grow into their roles in the firm while William, Kate, Harry, and Meghan held down the fort (Ed and Sophie too to an extent) in the meantime. Once William becomes King, the family was supposed to be 6 adult working royals with 3 on the way, plus the possibility of Archie and Lili (who I have always believed would have taken a larger role than Bea and Eugenie, their current equivalents).
The family is down two critical heads (and 2 possible future minor heads) without Harry. He needs them more than they need him - without a doubt - but they could use the backup. They need the backup. That was his place in the family - the 3rd most important adult (once his brother became King) until the Wales kids are old enough to take that over. It is not fair that Harry left WK alone in this. The firm was designed with Harry at the forefront, second only to his brother and sister-in-law, and now that design is flawed and broken because he went away without giving a shit about anyone and anything other than himself (recent articles be damned, Henry).
There’s only so much 2 people can do. Period. Harry was supposed to be able to double that headcount while still being able to attract the media attention the family needs. He was a critical part of this operation and he has failed everyone by running away. That’s why they needed him.

My Chemistry Of Love
Ships: Yoongi x reader
Genre: Fluff and just pure, pure nonsense xD.
I shook my head from side to side and banged my hands against it as if to shake out the painful memories that dared to come back from the far corner of the brain where I had stored them, never to be recalled . Ann,you promised. I told myself. You promised to store away those memories and never bring them back. You promised not to get weak again.
My hospital, patients and even Min Yoongi seemed to be the last things on my mind then. I suddenly went short of breath and gasped as I remembered the months of suffering and acting nonchalant, and how hard it had been to keep my calm. I shook my head furiously. There's no way I was going to trust this man, especially when he's an idol who could have any girl he wanted to when he liked. "Arggh", I was frustrated with myself. Why does it always have to be me?
"Yah, why are you throwing a tantrum? People are getting scared. I heard you kicked the vase near the Section Head's chamber and broke it. What is this, belated revenge?" , Sophie looked mad but I could see the concern in her eyes as she spoke. What is she even talking bout? "Omg when did I do that??" My eyes seemed to pop out of my sockets. "Wow, you don't even remember anything. Brilliant", she started rubbing her temples, looking absolutely done with the shit, aka me. I squinted, trying to hard to recall...remember what I did on the way to m office. My eyes shot open and I gasped. Fuck, that must be it.
"O-oh. I remember now, I think. There was this nurse blocking my way talking to a patient and I really wanted to reach my chamber and so I vaguely remember pushing something--" "Not pushing. You kicked it into pieces", she glared at me. I winced. Just why is my day turning out to be so rotten?! Ugh!! "Alex just might take it the wrong way, Sophie!" I facepalmed. Trust my body reflexes to do something this stupid..."Your brain doesn't let us take revenge.. so we, your body reflexes will do it for you!! Don't you worry", I imagined the conversation that probably was going on inside me. I sighed. As it is, I'm having trouble keeping my feelings for Yoongi at bay. No, scratch that. I don't even fuckin KNOW what my feelings for him are at this point of time. And now this. Jeez, I must be a magnetic centre for all kinds of bad charms that exist on this Earth.
"Now now don't look so glum. We are still here. C'mon cheer up", Sophie gave me a wink. Woman, you actually expect me to cheer up right now. "You are the reason why I'm glum!!!", I rolled my eyes.
"Hey it's done", I saw Sophie turn to give someone a high-five. Now what? The two turned to look at me, grinning widely. "What do you mean? And what are you doing here?" I pointed at Exci who merely shrugged. "Dunno, but the work's done", she snickered. And then, pointing a finger to poke my forehead, she said,
"But you definitely owe us one for this".
So she went on to explain the apparently "fantastically flawless piece of job" she has just executed, not without mixing her lecture with sudden (slightly irrelevant, yeah) claims of how "awesome they are", which would immediately be followed by Sophie's "humble denial" of "we did the duty of best friends", then hurrying on to explain how I still owed them a lot and well...you get it. "Will you just get to the point guys?" I was already trying really hard to keep my face straight.
"Yes yes,but the proper introduction was also necessary", and so she began.
"Take it quick!!", Sophie whispered frantically. "God, what has she been eating? How the hell did she break it into so many pieces in just one kick?", she complained. "Go, go," she shoved the broken pieces into a bag and pushed it into Exci's hand.
Exci had successfully finished replacing the vase with a new one from the store-room. These hospitals, she shook her head, they have placed the same kind of vases everywhere...having like, zero sense of aesthetics. At least, it helped us with our plan.
Clutching the bag tightly, she ran off in search of the Asshol- Section Head, aka Alex. She didn't even have to try hard to find him. He was walking down the stairs casually with his hands in his coat pocket, with that signature smug that seemed to be always there on his face. She rushed towards him, as if in a hurry and ran right into him.
"Oh I'm so sorry!", she apologized dramatically. "I'll pick the pieces up. God, I've become really clumsy lately! I never really meant to throw them at you like that..it's just that I was in a hurry, and you came in my way. I got startled and I threw--" "yeah shut up please. Just look what you did to my face", he snapped. "Oh my god, yes you are badly injured and bleeding. You should really hurry to a doctor who can take those glass pieces off your bod-" "You think I don't know that already!!", he yelled angrily.
"You know what, Ann, I could hardly stop my laughter right then! I would've bursted out if I didn't leave immediately..." , Exci trailed off, chuckling.
"I apologize sincerely. I didn't mean this to happen at all. I'm really sorry that your ugl- I mean, handsome face got all ruined. You probably won't be able to show your pathetic as- I mean, dignified self for a while now. I hope that the nurse that you've been fucki- hanging around with, can treat your wounds properly. I really gotta go now," Exci couldn't help the smile that broke out on her face. But Alex was too much in pain to notice and replied with an angry mumble. " I threw the pieces in a dustbin and came running here. And that's it", she ended.
" I threw the pieces in a dustbin and came running here. And that's it", she ended.
"I really can't believe what you did--" I burst out laughing, holding my stomach. Gasping and out of breath, I looked at the two girls in front of me. They really do know exactly how to make me feel better. I shook my head.
What am I ever gonna do without you", I smiled trying hard to not burst into laughter again. "Exactly. What will you ever do without us?", Sophie repeated in a sing-song voice giggling hysterically. "But that jerk really deserved it" , Exci added seriously. "I can already imagine how the nurses are gonna react on seeing his "pretty face"--- which is pretty ugly if you ask me-- all ruined," she let out a short laugh. I moved forward to give them a hug. "Thanks a lot really", I said. "Nah nah, the school momma is actually supposed to save her kid's ass", Sophie winked at us and I laughed.
I pulled away laughing with them. God, this really feels good. I really needed this thing right now, I sighed. The playful banter and laughing went on for while after that and before we realized, it was already five in the afternoon.
A nurse peeped in. "Doctor, I think it's time for you to check on the VIP. Plus, you'll need to do something for he's refusing to have anything, even his medicines. He didn't even have breakfast. Awfully grumpy since morning", the nurse added worriedly.
The chair made a scraping sound as I stood up. "Time to go for work now I guess. I need to check on my patient," I sighed. My two friends gave me a thumbs-up and waved me off. "Good luck for dealing with extra grumpiness~" she chuckled at her own words. I waved at them and started towards the door.
"Oh and Ann?" I turned around. "Believe in second chances. Don't let one betrayal prevent you from letting others in. Don't let go of chances, you never know what might happen", Exci smiled a little at me.
I smiled back wistfully and nodded my head before shutting the door to the room.
"Oh and Ann? Believe in second chances", Exci's voice kept echoing in my head mirroring the echoes of my footsteps as I walked down the silent corridor.
She was right, but how could I possibly open up again when the wounds have not healed yet? Another betrayal would break me completely. I cannot go through those months of pain and indifference again...but can I also push away the feelings that have been bottling up inside me? But he's an idol, Ann! A voice inside my head kept insisting. He probably has had thousands of such girls until now. And thousands more who are dying to be with him... He could throw anyone away just like that, not even breaking a sweat. Try being realistic. And what has he done to prove he likes you anyways? I shook my head.
You wouldn't have thought of this if Alex hadn't betrayed you. Another voice interrupted. What if he's different? Are all idols really that rotten and heartless? How well do you know them? You might be letting go of the man who could've loved you truly. Going through a heartbreak is one thing, but living the rest of your life wondering "what if I had done something different?" is even more awful.
I sighed. I was completely torn apart, unable to decide what I should do. I don't even know if he looks at me the same way..if all his flirting really meant anything. What did he do to make me fall so hard for him? I chuckled bitterly.
Suddenly, I heard voices from a nearby room. The door was cracked open. I peeped in to see a nurse bandaging Alex, who was sitting on the bed groaning in pain. A few other nurses "ooh-ed" and "ahh-ed", hovering around him while five or six of them stood at the door whispering to each other. Such jobless losers, I thought.
"Don't you have any other work to do except gossipping here?", I snapped at the nurses who stood at the door. They turned around, wide-eyed with alarm. "Dr Ann-- the Section Head got inju-" "yeah yeah I can see that", I interrupted them with a bored look on my face. "But what are YOU people here for? He doesn't need so many people looking after him. Just one nurse is enough", I said pointing to the one who was stitching up his wounds. "The ER is currently running short of staff. Leave immediately," I said. "But doct-" "If you don't wanna lose your jobs, stop slacking off", I warned. They gasped and hurried off.
I could feel Alex's eyes on me as I sighed and walked away, hands shoved inside my lab coat pockets.
As I turned to enter the VIP section, a sudden laugh escaped my throat. Serves him right. I thought. Exci really did a great job. Now he won't be able to go around showing that smug smile---which I hate so much---- for awhile. I laughed loudly that echoed off the walls of the small corridor that lead to Room no 206. Dunno why, but seeing him that injured and in pain gave me made me much more happy than I would've thought. My,my what a sadist I am, I chuckled softly. I pushed open the door. Jerks like him deserve to die in a hole-
"You seem to be in a good mood", a voice said. The laughter died in my throat as I saw Yoongi sitting on the bed in front of me. He looked sour and tired. The usual glint in his eyes was not there. The words got caught up in my throat and I suddenly didn't trust my voice to speak. Giving him a small smile, I walked towards the table kept by his aide. Indeed, he didn't take his medicines. I looked at him."The nurses told me you haven't been eating".
He let out a humourless laugh. "What am I? A child? I can choose if I want to eat or not", he retorted. I clicked my tongue in annoyance. I replied back, "Not when you're here. Your company has entrusted with your well-being. I don't want people to point fingers at me if something went wrong".
Also, I would never forgive myself if you ruined your health here. I thought. He suddenly became quiet. I looked at him suspiciously, but he avoided my gaze. "If that's only the reason why you always seemed so concerned, please don't bother from now on. I'll make sure my company doesn't blame you for anything", he replied softly. I raised an eyebrow. "Where's all that attitude coming from? And I don't get what you mean", I replied confused at his sudden mood swings. "Never mind then",he let out a dry chuckle. "I'm sorry for not being able to read you correctly," he smiled sadly at me. "You were really different for me", he added softly. He looked at me expectantly, his fists clenched at his sides.
I froze in my track. His last words kept echoing inside my head. Is this really what I think it is? But I was too afraid to hope. I brought my hand in an attempt to calm my heart that was beating erratically inside my chest. I shut my eyes. Was this really worth it? "What do you mean by 'different'?", I opened my eyes to see him looking down at his hands. "Never mind that", he shook his head, lying down and turning to the side. "Ann,believe in second chances", Exci's voice repeated in my head. I decided right then that I couldn't let go of this opportunity, couldn't let go of him. I didn't want to spend the rest of my life wondering what could've had happened if I acted differently.
I walked up to his bed and shook him gently. "Please have your meals. Don't take out your anger on the food just because you are upset with me. You can't go without food", I told him softly. He scoffed. " Don't you think you're thinking too high of yourself? Why on Earth will I be upset with you? You did make it clear that I was nothing but a patient. Did you ever heard a patient getting mad at his doctor?", He laughed. I sat down beside his lying figure. "Yoongi",I called him by his name. I shook him again. "Yoongi please". He went absolutely still in my hands. I removed my hands, panic seizing me as I realized he didn't probably want me to call him that. There was silence in the room except for my beating heart. I shut my eyes in despair thinking that I made a mistake again. "Say that again", he demanded, still not moving to look at my face. It was now my turn to go still. What did he just ask me to do? My heart threatened to burst out of my chest cavity by now.
"Yoongi", I whispered, fearing my voice might crack if I spoke too loud. "Come have your food because I sure as hell won't be having mine unless you finish it", I ended, looking at him. He finally turned around to look at me. With the rays of light falling on his lying figure through the window, he was by far the most beautiful thing I had seen. I seemed to lose my voice again when he softly stretched out one of his arms to hold my hand that was clenched by my side. Softly moving his thumb over my knuckles, he smiled. And for the first time today, it actually seemed to reach his eyes. "Will you feed me then?", he asked me expectantly. He fixed an intense gaze on my face as if trying to assess how genuine I had been. "Feed me Anna, that'll be the only way you can make me eat from today".
My breath hitched as I nodded my head furiously because I felt if I opened my mouth now, I'll break into tears. Finally, he showed me his gummy smile that I had come to fall in love with, and with that, he said," Come let's eat. I have been starving".

Trigger warnings for rape and slavery in the Shield Hero commentary.
Double Decker 12
Deana’s actually kinda tsundere…that’s kinda amazing to see, really.
I noticed Doug’s phone says “Dr. Apple”. Haha.
Kirill’s special. But why? You never answered that, people! Update: It’s because his antibodies are an antidote for Anthem.
There appears to be a Shell logo on one wall of Derick’s bar…LOL. Shell exists in real life. Why do we want it in an anime, now…?
I laughed so hard when I saw the landlady with what remained of Seven-O, hahaha.
Travis and Sophie, huh? Is it a ship or a working relationship? Who knows?
Oh! This didn’t make sense until Derick declared the bus was a bar. Rigggggggggght.
Kirill, believe in the Doug that believes in you…or something like that…
Kirill’s holding two guns, so when Cooper says, “Put down the gun,” which one does he mean???
“And Then There Weren’t None!” – Parodying (Agatha) Christie again, I see? (Referring to Hyouka’s Why Didn’t They Ask Evans parody, Why Didn’t She Ask Eba?.)
Golden Kamuy 23
How did “pig food” in a sentence become so terrifying???
Why is Tsurumi’s head leaking???
*Sugimoto bashes the earless twin with his prosthetic foot* - Well, that’s one way to get a leg up on someone…okay, I’ll see myself out.
Merc Storia 11
If Orthos is complaining about rain, why is he a water-element unit in the game???
This show is gorgeous. Not to mention the backgrounds look like they’ve been ripped out of the game…
Aw, Orthos is kinda cute. Kinda tsundere. I wonder if he wanted to hear “happy birthday” from Raviol…?
Every time I watch through the ED, I think Raviol’s going “Geddof me!” to Yuu.
Zombieland Saga 12 (FINAL)
The Yuugiri slap returns!
The 21st of December seems to have been the original airdate of this episode…
Karatsu-jou is Karatsu Castle, quite obviously.
Wait…does this mean Kotaro Tatsumis real (last) name is Inui? Or was this a “I changed my name bcause my mother/I (re)married” thing?
There’s an end of episode segment…keep watching.
That was…such a non-ending! This definitely needs a season 2 if it wants to finish its storyline! Plus, Yuugiri, Tatsumi and Tae never got their focus episodes!
Gridman 12 (FINAL)
What the heck was up with that smoke cloud? It looked so real, and yet so out of place!
Ooh, I see Anti now has the ability to transform by himself…although I should’ve figured that out last episode, since I think that happened then as well.
*Anti gets stabbed with Alexis’s sword* - What the hck just happened to my garbage son??? (refer to This Week in Anime for how that nickname came about for Anti)
Eyy. So you’re saying Gridman was a magical girl robot all along? Haha…hahahaha.
So basically, it’s Boueibu LOVE! but with less meta. With lessons of mortality instead of the Kabuki Rule. Akane’s basically female!Kinshiro, right down to the hairdo…
Wow…someone really ran out of budget. It’s literally just a slideshow, but with black and white over it.
Oh, there’s actually a nice piano song in the background. So maybe I was wrong about the budget…? I don’t really want to go and watch the slideshow again, y’know.
There’s a random live-action segment at the end of this show??? Wuh??? What do I need to expect next, a talking meteorite??? (referring to Dimension High School)
Okay, seriously??? What was up with live-action Rikka???? I don’t get it… Update: Okay, so the live-action girl was Akane, not Rikka. That’s why it was so confusing…
Double Decker 13 (FINAL)
I laughed really hard at the explosions. Probably because I Photoshopped someone into a picture of an explosion and the scene with Kirill being shoved forward by an explosion reminded me of it…
I wanted Max to slap Travis, as weird as that might be for a show like this (but not for a show like Zombieland Saga). A punch in the gut’s good too, though.
“To be continued?” – Oh. Ohh. Ooh…Heh. I already knew there were some extra episodes, but at this point, there’s no ruling out a season 2, either…hmmm. I really wouldn’t mind a season 2, y’know.
Golden Kamuy 24 (FINAL)
For some reason, I’ve ben referring to Hijikata as “old fart” for the length of this episode (meaning “not long”). He’s an impressive old fart, to be sure, and he was hella nice-looking in his heyday, but in the age of Golden Kamuy, he’s still an old fart.
I thought “Say hello to my little friend” was from Scarface, not…whatever Tsurumi’s pulling here. (commnt made in jest with straight face)
Seriously, what happened to ruin Nopperabo/Wilk’s face, anyway?
Someone make me a Civil War poster with Golden Kamuy characters, stat!
Wait, so Kiroranke, Asirpa and co. are headed north to meet up with Kiroranke’s allies, which could cause a civil/national war. Hijikata and Blockhead Dick-sensei (forgot his name) are headed south due to the info they got from Inudou’s hut (the chapel). I’m pretty sure that’s what just happened, but…I could have missed a bit and then I’d be wrong.
“Send the beloved child on a journey” is a Japanese saying, by the way. That’s (probably?) what Sugimoto’s referring to when he talks with the boat captain (the elder Koito). Oddly, the elder Koito seems to drop the last O from “-dono”, which seems to be a Satsuma thing…?
Cells at Work Special Ep (Ep 14)
Oh, you can see the effector cell amongst the other T Cells! Hello there!
I remember studying stuff about how a cell divides…man, that was at least 2 years ago! You’re making me feel old…
*Helper T Cell appears* - Gaddangit, Kazuma! (from Noragami)
Merc Storia 12 (FINAL)
There’s just something too awfully cute about a brother leaving the “nest”.
Even birds need to learn to fly. I wonder why Orthos didn’t…?
Ah! It’s one of those low-level hooting monsters! I’ve seen them in the game but I don’t know what they’re called…Update: They’re called Goldories. Spoke too soon…
Well…that’s a bit frustrating. That’s the second non-ending this season…hey! I’ve seen that elephant in the game! Plus that slime! (LOL, I’m so easily distracted…)
Ooh, that non-ending. I’ll give it a piece of its mind by giving it an average rating on my AniList!!! Rah!!! Anyways, see ya later…for 2019 anime.
Shield Hero 1
First anime of 2019 and it’s this one. Hoo boy – I’ve read one chapter of the manga, courtesy of CR. It’s gonna get nasty down in here, judging by the buzz that seems set to replicate Goblin Slayer’s…
Oh…that’s not a very favourable opening, the “It was all a dream” opening. Sure, it was gripping and showd Raphtalia (saw her name in promo material from ANN), but f*** if it weren’t overused at this point in time…
I always thought Shield Hero started out like Fushigi Yuugi…speaking of which, is that no longer on Crunchyroll?
Motoyasu’s got his own spinoff, so I’m hoping I’ll get to know him well over the next 12 weeks or so.
I find it interesting that they put the heroes together to reveal they’re from different versions of Japan so quickly. I’m pretty sure that didn’t happen in the manga.
Honestly, that “NOOOOOOOOOOOo!” could be an awesome reaction GIF. Just sayin’.
Sigh…Myne, Myne, Myne…you and your ways with Naofumi…
(Trigger warning: rape discussion) See? As I said, I knew this was going to happen. The thing is that it played out a lot more clearly in the anime than it did in the manga. As much as I don’t like the trope of “rape as accusation” enough (enough to have never encountered it before), it would be hypocritical of me to say I haven’t used it before – it appears in Half-Paid Heroes. However, one year out from having written it (due to the #MeToo movement), I can only say “rape is so not on”. I do not condone rape, but from a storytelling perspective it’s the perfect trope to make a character look like a monster and it makes a clearly false accusation have more oomph behind it, so…let’s just say Shield Hero’s doing its job here, making me despise Myne and the system in this world. Besides, I only stand on the side that does the better story.
For some reason, Naofumi’s “You can shove it all up your a***!” demand reminds me of when I’m angry and doing unreasonable demands…which means it’s won me over now.
I just realised…there hasn’t been much music until now…
(Trigger warning: slavery discussion) Oof. Now they’ve gotten to a new low of depravity in this show. Naofumi’s probably gonna buy a slave…again, I don’t condone this, but I assume Raphtalia is here.
Yep, even without knowing past ch 1, I was right on the money. That’s Raphtalia!
Poppies, huh? The symbol of bloodshed. What a perfect flower for this show, which demonstrates Naofumi’s blood, sweat and tears…
As much as I don’t condone some of the acts done in this show, I see some huge potential. Even if it’s got controversy flying around it like flies, I’ll stand with it. Are you with me?
Boogiepop 1 – 2
Double length premiere…oof, this’ll be tough on my spare time. Lately, I’ve been told to clean up the house a bunch and doing all manner of other things, so it’s just eating up time on all sides.
OP start is…for some reason, never a good start. For some reason, I just don’t like it. Maybe that might be the fact I was taught to start with a compelling opening scene when I was a fiction writer, though.
The subber got so bored they even subbed the Dengeki Bunko logo in the corner…wow. (sarcastic)
For some reason, the art style reminds me of Banana Fish (or Parasyte). Must be the chara designs.
This seems to be coated in a fine film of 90s edge. Or maybe the early 2000s, because that’s when this really comes from. C’mon, Takeda doesn’t even seem surprised when his mouth hangs open!
Notably, Boogiepop uses boku.
Wait, I don’t get why Boogiepop is called that. They pop the boogie(men)? That right?
I started zoning out and fiddling with my wrist in the middle of this episode. That’s another bad sign…
Wow, that ending’s really minimalist.
Currently, this episode raises more questions than it answers. Its overall impression level is trending slightly towards the negative. There must be a double premiere for a reason, though…let’s move on.
Wait - Kirima Seiichi? Is he Nagi’s father??? How did I not notice that earlier?
That manticore business seems to be correct…according to Wikipedia.
This doesn’t add up. Taniguchi. Kirima. Maybe Taniguchi is the name of the mother/father and Kirima is the name of the other parent? Update: Spoke too soon on this point and a previous one.
Kirima’s OS appears to be Windows 10 with a few adjustments.
Wait, but isn’t Suema meant to be the girl’s surname? Or is it Kinoshita? Update: It’s Suema. Kinoshita is another girl.
This white-haired man is the one from last episode, right? I didn’t really recognise him since there’s always terrible lighting plus he was wearing orange then, but yeah. Can’t believe I didn’t connect the dots there either.
White-haired man seems to be like Anti from Gridman. I presume he’s Echoes…? Update: Yup, Echoes it is.
Egao no Daika 1
This sounds like it’s outside my field of expertise, but I’ve been proven wrong before with Planet With, not to mention Toshiki Masuda is a character called Huey Malthis. It seems to be pretty standard Princess and the Pauper fare though…
There’s just a bunch of tablets with fancy-looking English on them…the heck?
Is it just me, or did the mecha game have the solitaire success sound effect…?
Ooh, I sense animosity regarding Japan’s emperor abdicating within this show (in a metaphorical sense)! I could analyse this show to bits, maybe…
The CGI in this actually ain’t that bad. Then again, we are talking about mechs here…
Oh, end of episode segment. Keep watching…
Well, I noticed the characters go off model if you’re paying attention to something you shouldn’t be, but otherwise, it’s a respectable first episode…respectable, but fairly average.

looool what would you do with sophie anne on Denny if you apped her
fuck you but also,
i do feel like she’d be interesting to app because while she’s not really ambitious or cruel enough to get involved in any large scale villainous stuff (probably), she is conniving enough that there are some potential smaller scale plots people could get involved in with her
like honestly, primarily? i think she’d just kind of wanna live it up on denny and enjoy her freedom. but she doesn’t settle for anything halfway, so she’d probably like, glamour her way into snagging herself some ridiculously lavish mansion down south somewhere rather than settle for rifter housing anywhere. i can’t believe sophie anne’s wanted for tax evasion,
no but that’s kind of the vein of stuff she’d do, like, just kinda lowkey using her power freely to get what she wants. something that might put her a little more in the limelight is that i don’t think she’d hesitate to start supplying people with vampire blood again as an easily accessible way of making herself a LOT of money which, you know, is not TECHNICALLY illegal on denny since there’s no precedent, buuut it’s definitely the kind of thing that has the potential to stir up trouble or attract attention. maybe she’d even market it as like “hey you want free superpowers?” since vamp blood DOES give you temporary abilities, and i feel like that’d be pretty appealing on denny. but yeah that’s maybe something more lawful characters could get involved with, like trying to figure out what’s going on with that, or maybe a character gets themselves into trouble while using it or something…
i could see her making a few enemies through that which could definitely lead to some fun conflict because sophie doesn’t go out of her way to hurt people generally, but she CAN be pretty ruthless with her enemies, so if someone got in her way it might be fun to play with a little antagonistic dynamic..
i also don’t know if she’d be all that discrete about being a vampire?? she probably won’t like, ADVERTISE it, but i don’t think she’d be too secretive either, at least among other rifters. she’s obviously used to vampires being common knowledge, and she wouldn’t really expect anyone to make a huge moral thing out of it since she typically drinks from people who offer themselves voluntarily (you know, those vampirefuckers,) but there’s certainly a chance that there’d be people who have some qualms with it anyway who might pick a fight with her or at least want to keep an eye on her. it’d be fun to throw her at like, monster hunter-type characters, although idk if we have any of those on denny right now… maybe ed? sophie’s just repulsed by how straight he is,
maybe she’d even like… in the denny chat we were just joking about cheesy night clubs but like, setting up some kind of supernatural bar or community gathering place DOES sound like something she’d possibly be interested in, because it’d be a good way of keeping an eye on things and establishing power a bit. plus sophie just likes to party,
honestly that’s probably what a lot of the rest of her stuff boils down to, she just wants to have a good time and enjoy her eternity in a place that’s… not with the husband she was forced to marry! she’d probably be drawn to characters who entertain her. maybe sleep with some gals because that’s what she likes to do. i think sophie is also a bit drawn to and envious of… well, humanity, so she’d just revel in the opportunity to do basic normal things that make her happy. which is easy to work with in an rp setting, and gives you the chance for all kinds of dynamics, so. maybe at some point, with all the magical characters we have hanging around, she’d pursue some kind of permanent way to be able to go out in daylight because she REALLY wants that
obviously only if i kept her around longterm, it might even be cool to do a plot with her turning someone… it’s not the kind of thing she’d do casually but, eventually she might see the appeal in having other vampires around and i feel like it’s a decision she’d make and then be like “oh right… i forgot what it’s like having a baby vamp” around and then be stuck psychically BONDED to them, and plots like that are always fun to play with
also she’s gonna bother maeve a lot,
#i didnt like doing this ask because i realized its really easy to come up with ideas#cuts dennys lvad wire#fizzlep0p

Submission:
I know that Meghan has a strong opinion of herself. She thinks she was born for royalty. On the forum (she or her agent) we did so much post saying that Meghan will work more than Catherine, she will show him the way. She will be relevant to the royal family, she will be the pillar of the royal family, she will be a fashion icon in the RF, she will blow a fresh wind in the RF. Harry is his only love, he has never known that before, they are modernizing the RF, Chelsea and Cress were nil before her.
Well now, there is a music on this forum, it may be the life of Countess Sophie.
Sophie and Ed have been hardworking royals for a few years. So has Anne, for a much longer period of time.
Megs constantly wants attention. She didn’t attend today’s rugby match, so instead she leaked to the Daily Star that Sir Elton and Sting will be attending the wedding. Eh. Soon there will be other news that strikes her off the pages no matter how hard she tries.
As far as I’m concerned, there are only three events this spring that will matter:
Queen Elizabeth’s retirement from official duties.
The death of Prince Philip.
Prince Harry breaking off his engagement.
And likely in that order.
The rest is just window dressing.
#submission#british royal family#meghan markle#am grudgingly adding a meghan markle tag on this post#queen elizabeth ii#prince philip#will they break up before the wedding?

Interview with Matthew Goode on his role in The Crown -
Now I am sitting in a London hotel room in front of the actor playing Snowdon in season two of Netflix’s The Crown. And Matthew Goode is wearing a hat, probably the one he has in ITV’s The Wine Show, the programme in which he and his mate Matthew Rhys josh and gush over vintages brought to them in a “hilltop Italian villa” — a for-real version of Brydon and Coogan’s The Trip. The bibulous old rogue Snowdon would have appreciated the wine and the banter, but what would he have said about his future impersonator’s ever-on hat?
“He was a nightmare,” says Goode, who admits to rather liking Snowdon. “I spoke to one of the guys who used to help him when he was a photographer, and he said, ‘I can’t use the expletive, but it describes an area of a woman’s body — that’s who he was.’ It was so annoying. He could be charming and brilliant, then in two seconds’ time behave like the most disgusting person in the entire world.”
Snowdon was 76 when I met him and although he had been divorced from Margaret for nearly 30 years, he still behaved like minor royalty. His servants, I noted, called him m’lud. In the period depicted in The Crown, however, Snowdon was New Britain on the march, storming the palace gates to modernise the monarchy. That early model, the pre-peerage Tony Armstrong-Jones, might even have admired Goode’s hat.
Having once compared Margaret to a Jewish manicurist (he was part Jewish himself), he would certainly have enjoyed Goode’s outspokenness, a trait that has got the actor into trouble in interviews before — which may be why his publicist is sitting behind me. She keeps her counsel, however, probably having already realised that Goode’s chance of appearing in the next honours list is about as likely as The Crown ushering in a republic.
A file of background notes passed on by The Crown’s producers persuaded Goode that Snowdon’s faults were sourced in an unhappy childhood. His mother, Anne Messel, showed him little affection, referring to him as her “ugly son”, doling out her love instead to the two boys from her second, longer-lasting marriage to an earl. He was sent to boarding school at eight and at 16, while at Eton, contracted polio (there is a touching moment in The Crown when he hides his stick when Margaret turns up at his studio). Anne, rather than nurse him at home, packed him off to Liverpool Royal Infirmary, but she never visited him.
“Exactly what that kind of damage does to a child I have no idea, but emotionally and psychologically, quite a lot, I would imagine,” says Goode. “I think it’s why he married Princess Margaret. I think he did it to please his mother rather than himself.”
Demonstrating that he was good enough to marry into royalty? “It’s far more complicated than that, I’m sure, but it’s one of the solutions.”
The Snowdons were soon into an 18-year marriage notable for its private rowing and public putdowns. Yet, says Goode, the royal family loved their new recruit and always blamed Margaret for any trouble. “He was terribly funny as well. So with this incredibly acerbic, nasty, vitriolic, spiteful side comes this flamboyant, wonderfully debonair, extremely funny, witty man.”
The pair, he summarises, were “very charismatic, very smart and vile”, but what we can be sure of was that the sex between them was spectacularly good — although not good enough to dissuade their lusty libidos from straying beyond marriage. Soon both were having affairs. Within weeks of the marriage, another woman, Camilla Fry, had given birth to Snowdon’s illegitimate daughter, sired, the show suggests, during a three-in-a-bed encounter with her and her bisexual husband, Jeremy.
“When I first met Noo,” Goode says, referring to Vanessa Kirby, who plays Margaret, by her nickname, “I was quite terrified because I was a fan of the first series. I was a little star-struck, I suppose, and I thought it might make for uncomfortable love scenes, but we ended up just finding it hilarious. It was a really good giggle. She’s brilliant. She’s really dynamic as an actress and really fun to work with because she’ll bat it back. She listens, really listens, and responds.”
Perhaps it is because of their rapport that they manage to convey how alike the princess and her parvenu husband were. They were control freaks (that cap business) and poisonous to those who would not be controlled. They were rebels, but also lovers of status. As Goode points out, Armstrong-Jones may have been the first commoner in 40 years to marry the daughter of a monarch, but he was also dead posh. In fact, Goode’s dialect coach encouraged him to “dial back” the vowels, lest people found them confusing.
Since his breakthrough role as wealthy Tom in Woody Allen’s Match Point in 2005, and certainly after his Charles Ryder in Brideshead Revisited three years later, Goode has played mainly posh boys. He was brought up in Devon the son of a geologist and his wife, a nurse, but did go to a private day school. Yet Goode is not quite acting aristocracy and since this cannot be because of his talent, or his looks — dark hair, blue eyes, 6ft 2in — this may be something to do with his habit of speaking his mind. In an interview in 2010 he complained about being left with “nowhere to go” by the director of Brideshead. When Tom Ford’s excellent A Single Man came out, he criticised the Weinsteins for featuring Julianne Moore rather than him with Colin Firth in the advertising, thus downplaying the central gay relationship. In 2013 he said he had been working “a lot of scale”, meaning the minimum rate.
Then, on This Morning last year, he said he did not think the modern Bond films were working as well as the old ones. The papers, which had tipped him as Daniel Craig’s successor, declared he had blown his chances.
“I’m way over the hill, darling, what are you talking about?” he responds, although he is 39 and only a few years older than Craig when he started. “I didn’t mean it in a bad way.” What he meant was that there could be two Bond franchises, one contemporary Bond and another set in the Sixties. “It’s just an idea. But apparently you can’t have an opinion.”
Recent years have been kinder to him professionally. In 2014 he joined Downton Abbey as Henry Talbot, the racing diver who sped off with Lady Mary. Around the same time he won a regular gig on The Good Wife in America. The Wine Show is about to return to ITV, with Goode joined by a new drinking buddy, James Purefoy. There are, of course, still disappointments. Cast as a morphine-addicted ex-public schoolboy in Agatha Christie’s Ordeal by Innocence, Goode now finds that the three-parter has been pulled from the BBC’s Christmas schedules after sexual allegations against his co-star Ed Westwick (who robustly denies them).
Goode says there are two ways of looking at it. The first is that the BBC has spared the cast some awkward interview questions. “But some would also say that they should have stood by Ed. Possibly. I mean, I don’t know. I’m not the controller of the BBC.”
So, is he in favour of the postponement? “I’m not really in favour of anything because I don’t have to make that decision. I believe you’re innocent until proven guilty.”
But has the BBC prejudged the matter by pulling the show? “No, not now, because there are three allegations now.”
Goode has lived with the mother of his three children, Sophie Dymoke, for 12 years. When she became pregnant with their first daughter, she gave up her life in the fashion industry in New York. He was thrilled to be able to return with her to film The Good Wife, but by then her heart was no longer in her career. Is he guilty about that?
“Of course I am. Of course I am. She has to put up with living with some f***wit who doesn’t really live in reality occasionally and has some slight psychological problems occasionally through work. She’s retrained as an interior designer and she’s so talented at it.”
What psychological problems? “Well, this [show] is part of it. If you tie all of your hopes to the net product of your work, then you’re going to get depressed because sometimes you feel like you’re working really well and then you watch it and you go, ‘I am terrible.’ I don’t watch my stuff any more.”
I assure him he is excellent in The Crown, but it was a one-off gig. Series three will be recast with older actors (he thinks Paul Bettany would be a good choice). “Peter Morgan [the writer] said, ‘I’ve just written the most fantastic argument for Tony and Margaret in series three.’ I was, like, ‘Oh good. What a thrill for the next guy.’ ”
He got the part days after Lord Snowdon died in January this year, 15 years after Margaret. His death avoids any unpleasant collisions in restaurants and Goode hopes that none of his children will want to spit in his face. He reports that Matt Smith was introduced to Prince William at a function before the first series was shown. The prince said he had heard he was playing his grandfather, Prince Philip. “And Matt was, like, ‘Yeah, yeah, anything to say about that?’ And William just said, ‘LEGEND.’ ”
“I think as we come towards where we are now, it will be slightly uneasy and slightly problematic. I think it could open up a few wounds that people are still a little bit grieving over and feeling complicated about. Poor old Charles is probably going to get it in the neck. Maybe it’s a good thing that I’m out of there already.”
In one way, however, Lord Snowdon did members of the royal family a favour. The show’s slogan is that “the crown always wins”. In the Snowdon case, monarchic tradition was unable to prevent Margaret and her husband from divorcing and pursuing happiness with others. Perhaps without their example, Charles, Anne and Andrew might still be all miserably married. The Snowdons were trailblazers!
“Were they the first? They were. Yes, they were! So, the trailblazers. Trailblazers is a word that suits them extremely well,” Goode says enthusiastically.
And for that, let us all take off our caps to Lord Snowdon.
The Crown series two is available on Netflix from December 8
