package arrived but the box was roughly twice the size I anticipated it being which made for an Interesting cycling experience and also like. I don't wanna break down the box immediately in case there are problems and i have to send the bodhrán back, but it's currently stuck at work and i can't transport it home unless i get a taxi, and i don't really want to pay for a taxi to transport an empty box, and also it's going to be very hard to cycle with both the bodhrán and my normal rucksack this evening because i did not anticipate the case being this bulky. so. I have had to put the box in an out of the way corner with a note on it saying that it's not abandoned and I will be coming back for it. i just need to figure out how tf to do that

This? This is a very easy to follow pattern, for period work! If you assume they had a reason to put things together the way they ask you can just follow along with the bouncing ball!

Decided to buy a *stupid* amount of cute flannel so I’m looking at chemise patterns because why not have a complete matching set of black cat and pumpkin underpinnings, and I found a very interesting period pattern (which won’t work for this purpose But), except I found it through a finished project and, uh. Complaining about problems you created because you don’t like the period ways of doing things so you changed the pattern and caused them is not *actually* the pattern’s fault

Alright, local Walmart has a My Life As bed

in stock that I might pick up tomorrow. It has cuter bedding than the one I was looking at on eBay

and costs less than $3 more.

I could get about $2 back from Honey if I bought it online for pickup, but I might be able to get That Guy to pay for it if I buy it in person.

They also have this kitchen set that would help flesh out my new diner playset (thank you, @hellodollstuff)

but, while breakfast foods are a good fit, it's not QUITE right, and it's $25 which is a little pricey for a playset I'm not actually playing with, just want to put stuff in.

I don't need so much food like this, either, I mostly need things to fill the rotating cake rack thing.

I should dig through some of my MiniVerse and MiniBrands and see if there's stuff in there that would be a good fit, too. MiniVerse is all consistently 1/6th scale, though some of the MiniBrands might be big enough for 18in dolls.

Knocking around ideas, I came up with two new concepts of Uplifted for my Centauri Universe. To recap, the Uplifted are hybrid animals created to have human level sapience. I have created four of them thus far but looking at lists of the most intelligent animals I figured there were enough others to make at least two more.

The first species I currently call the Scurachin. These lemur-like Uplifted are hybrids of rats, squirrels, capuchin monkeys, and raccoons. The second are the sprites, which are hybrids of ants, bees, and Portia spiders. To give a sense of scale, the Scurachin shown her stands 18in tall while the sprite has a body length of roughly 5.1in. If I like these ideas enough I'll probably refine them more in the future, maybe give them better names unless they're liked enough.

Using an old blurred vintage photo, I have painted a queer couple from an unknown time ago. By painting them and bringing as much clarity to their photo as possible, I am bringing their love and experience back to the forefront. This painting serves not only as a representation of their relationship and lives together, but also towards their resilience- to be queer in a difficult past, and now the difficult present.

There’s this online seller I know who makes custom plushies—any way you want, any size, from the simplest little bean to the most detailed thing ever. And from the "littlest" keychain to the biggest one she (the seller lmao) has to offer (which is about 45cm/18in tall(?))

Just imagine a big, soft Ken plush to hug whenever you need. The ultimate comfort move lmao

giraffes communicate through infrasound!! most of their vocalizations are two low for us to hear, and it travels for miles!! so they're always in contact with each other, even when they're far apart :)

giraffe herds are fission-fusion in structure, so scientists assumed that this meant that they weren't very social. but re the previous fact, they're actually way more social than previously thought!!

they mourn their dead too—

they have seven bones in their neck, just like us!! they're just HUGE

they have special blood vessels that keep the blood from rushing to their heads when they lean down to drink!! and keep it from rushing back too quickly when they lift their heads back up!!

a giraffe's tongue is as long as the giraffe is tall proportionately, so an 18ft tall giraffe would have an 18in long tongue :)

their tongues are prehensile and are used to strip the leaves off of trees!! they're purple too to protect them from the sun!!

they sleep for about 30 minutes every day!! and not even all at one time haha

they're pregnant for about 18 months 😭 the mother gives birth standing up, and the fall stimulates the baby to take its first breath!!

a newborn giraffe is already 6ft tall!! (they have the biggest wettest eyes 🥺)

CW: talking about dragon dicks under the cut because I need to vent (not necessarily negative) about thoughts my fics have been stirring in my mind. Also spoilers for Skyrim dragon lore

I HATE RESEARCHING FOR FICS BECAUSE LIKE ON ONE HAND I'M LIKE "okay, so let me double check my Dovahzul, seems right", "let me double check that this actually happens to enemies in games", "... Hold on, I'm imagining this in my head and I need to look up stuff to make it make sense-"

Like I'm very much someone who isn't a stickler for canon, but I have to like have my works be able to nestle softly into a gap that canon leaves behind. That's why characters I write HAVE to be in character. I can't do AUs that change their personalities. Just can't do it.

Sighhhh anyways dragon dicks are gonna be at minimum like around 18in/45.7cm? "Oh that doesn't seem that big" GRAB A RULER RIGHT NOW. YEAH. YEAH STARE AT THAT LENGTH IN TERROR. I'm not gonna talk about the formula I used to calculate it, but like. Guys. Those things would Kill People.

Thankfully, dragons (probably) don't have experience using them. Because dragons don't reproduce, I'd imagine they've never really engaged in sexual acts (Alduin maybe. He seems like a "I BEAT YOU AKA I DOMINATED YOU, LIFT YOUR TAIL" type of dragon /j ), especially not with mortals, Dragonborn or otherwise. They kinda view people the way we view bugs, after all.

So like for one reason or another, interacting with Dragonborn sparking unfamiliar feelings in them sounds interesting to me. Also idk I just like the idea of them being like "... Hmmm, how can I convince the Dragonborn to fix this..." And different dragons handling it differently :]c
