He sulks in the corner of the bakery the whole time. It was so extra that someone later mentioned it in a google review for the bakery.
“The pastries were delicious! While I was there though, some lady came in with her MASSIVE moth husband; not even joking the man was a giant. And the whole time they were there, he sat in a corner and looked like he wanted everything to burn to the ground. I asked the lady if everything was okay, and she deadass said that he was fine and he was just mad because she made him put on pants before they left the house. Lmfaoooo mood af! Easily the highlight of my day!”
“Honey I love you…But if you’re going to come to the bakery with me, then you CANNOT just start eating everything and you have to at LEAST put on pants.”
Slither Wing Emmet:
djsjdjd Slither Wing Emmet doesn't understand pants. He hates them especially. Trying to argue about modesty doesn't work because of his fur, too. Poor guy has destroyed many, many pairs of pants you got for him.
Emmet hates this stupid human society and misses the days he could just take whatever he wanted and only had to worry about a battle to the death.
Sad moth husband sitting in the corner pouting with his wings all limp. Even a lamp can't make him happy now.
#shitpost#slither wing#slithermas#slither wing emmet#you’re like ‘oh just ignore him. he’s being a baby because i wouldn’t let him leave the house without pants. can’t take him anywhere i stg’#as soon as you get home and the pants are off he gets zoomies#like ‘yes! i’m freeeeee!!’#then he eats all the cupcakes you bought#so he’s going back in the pants as punishment. you bought 2 dozen of them ffs!#he’s back to sulking now

Animation Night 149: Toei
Hi there. It’s Thursday. You know what that means (yes, it means i’m freeeeee)
Today we will be rolling back to some of the earliest days of anime!
The story of Toei goes back to 1946. In the immediate aftermath of WWII, there were very few games in town when it came to Japanese animation (or, to be fair, animation in most places). During the war, animators had been recruited to make propaganda films such as Momotaro: Sacred Sailors, among them Akira Daikuhara.
In the immediate aftermath, Kenzō Masoaka (of Benkei tai Ushiwaka, for anyone who remembers AN24) began the first effort to make an animated film post-war. This film was titled Sakura: Haru no genso (Cherry Blossom: Spring’s Fantasy); it was followed by a series of three films about a cat called Tora-Chan. But Masoaka’s studio struggled, constantly closing and re-opening. At the time it was operating under the name 日本動画映画 Nihon Dōga Eiga or Japan Animated Films, or just the abbreviation 日動映画 Nichidō Eiga. In 1956, they were bought by live action studio Toei (itself approaching 20 years old, founded in 1938) and renamed to Toei Dōga, where they started making increasingly elaborate animated films.
Toei of this era was sometimes called the rather patronising name ‘Disney of the East’. There is some truth to it, in that their ambition, especially in the early years, was certainly to make animated films as elaborate as those of old Walt. Their first feature was 白蛇伝 Hakujaden (1958), based on a Song Dynasty Chinese legend about a lost pet snake who transforms into a woman in the hopes of reuniting with her former owner, a monk who thinks that’s sus, and two pandas who try to sort it all out; in English it’s variously translated as The White Snake Enchantress, Legend of the White Serpent or even Panda and the Magic Serpent.
Part of the goal of the film, to Toei Dōga president Hiroshi Ōkawa, was a gesture of reconciliation towards China after the whole ‘invading and occupying’ thing.
The film was Rintarō’s first animation job; it also left a massive impression on a young Hayao Miyazaki, who wrote the following in Gekkan ehon bessatsu: Animēshon (1979), trans. Beth Cary and Frederik L Schodt in Starting Point:
What I’m saying here is that when young people feel attracted to the heroes of a tragedy [context: such as The Diary of Anne Frank], whether in animation or other media, a type of narcissism is really involved; this attraction they feel is a surrogate emotion for something they have lost.
From personal experience, I can say that I first fell in love with animation when I saw Hakujaden, the animated feature produced by Toei Animation in 1958. I can still remember the pangs of emotion I felt at the sight of the incredibly beautiful, young female character Bai-Niang, and how I went to see the film over and over as a result. It was like being in love, and Bai-Niang became a surrogate girlfriend for me at a time when I had none.
It is in this sense that I think we can achieve a type of satisfaction, by substituting something for the unfulfilled portion of our lives.
The feelings evoked by Bai-Niang may go some way to explaining the role of similar girls in Miyazaki’s movies...
Hakujaden has some curious properties as a work of animation. It was, especially for the time, astonishingly elaborate and straining the technical capabilities of the industry (although the claim on Wikipedia that it had 13,590 staff seems rather dubious lmao). The drawing count is stratospheric thanks most scenes being animated on ones and twos - the opposite of the limited animation techniques that anime would later perfect. Despite that, it is also the work of an inexperienced team, and compared to later works its animation can feel awkwardly timed, the flood of inbetweens turning everything to mush.
Nevertheless, there are two stars of the show in terms of animation. One is Yasuji Mori, who would later be one of Toei’s star animators, creating scenes such as the dance at the beginning of this post - as well as teaching Miyazaki after he joined Toei. The other is Akira Daikuhara, who was way ahead of the game on effects animation, creating the film’s transformation sequences. Daikuhara would go on to be one of Toei’s main animators of human characters, while Mori tended to take the animal/mascots; he has been a relatively forgotten figure, although that’s starting to change with articles like these ones by Matteo Watzky, whose research just digs deeper and deeper.
Toei’s early films tend to follow the precedent set in Hakujaden, adapting folktales from (mostly) China and Japan. In 1959 they covered a Japanese story in Shōnen Sarutobi Sasuke; 1960, they took on Saiyūki (Journey to the West); then Anju to Zushiōmaru (The Orphan Brother, 1961) and Arabian Nights: The Adventures of Sinbad (1962).
In this period of Toei, there was a lot of ambition, and also a feeling of inadequacy compared to the elaborate animated films being made in other countries. Hayao Miyazaki, who joined Toei in the 1963, wrote in 1982:
I used to create feature-length works for Toei Animation, but compared to the works just mentioned, they were obviously far inferior, at least technically. Sort of like showing rabbits slipping and falling, that sort of thing. We wondered if we would ever catch up to the level of what was being done in America, France or Russia, or if it were even possible to do so. Frankly, we really didn’t know.
To begin with, we didn’t even know what we had to do to reach the same level of excellent as the best works out there. We knew we had constraints, such as short production schedules, small budgets and so forth, but above and beyond that, we began to develop an inferiority complex: we wondered if we even had the basic talent needed to proceed. In retrospect, the only thing that probably kept us going, and drove us to pursue such a long-term goal, was our determination.
Miyazaki’s words should be taken with a grain of salt, since they definitely suit his personal myth-making. Still, conditions at Toei in the 60s were rough, leading to the first major unionisation struggle of anime history, which I wrote about in AN70. The studio started bringing on part-timers paid hourly rather than a salary, and created severe pay discrepancies, which were met with strikes and departures from the studio. Saiyūki took such a tole on its director Taiji Yabushita that he was hospitalised; Yasuji Mori would later create the term ‘anime syndrome’ for this sort of overwork because it was not the last time by any means.
However, I’m going to zoom over all of these to get to the わんぱく王子の大蛇退治 Wanpaku Ōji no Orochi Taiji (The Naughty Prince’s Orōchi Slaying, more commonly translated The Little Prince and the Eight-Headed Dragon) in 1963 - not because it’s necessarily more important, although it’s remembered as one Toei’s best films, but because I happen to have a fantastic analysis of one of its key scenes on hand thanks to AniObsesive and Toadette.
youtube
Wanpaku Ōji breaks from precedent in many ways, particularly its visual design, which takes on highly simplified shapes reminiscent of the then ultra-modern UPA style by way of haniwa figures. The story at least follows the pattern, adapting a Shinto myth in which the storm god Susanoo battles (guess what) an eight-headed dragon Yamat no Orochi. Susanoo is motivated by the death of his mother Izanami, and goes on a journey to try to find her, which leads him to the village of Princess Kushinada - a village with a dragon problem, which they’ve kept at bay only by sacrificing Kushinada’s seven sisters. Susanoo, horny for a princess who looks like his mum, decides it’s time to intervene.
The dance scene above comes in the middle of the movie, in which the goddess Ame-no-Uzume performs an increasingly mystical dance. It was an ambitious experiment of Makoto Nagasawa, who had joined as an inbetweener on Saiyūki, with large spacing and broad motion to create a snappy feeling. Animation Obsessive writes:
Typical motion at Toei, Nagasawa said, would be “neatly in-betweened from the first [key] pose to the last [key] pose.” In other words, in-betweens smoothed out the movement and made it longer, more complete and more realistic. By contrast, Nagasawa’s drawings of Uzume are often at wide intervals, with minimal in-betweens. Sometimes, she basically teleports from one frame to the next.
Even when the intervals aren’t that wide, the way Uzume moves remains big, broad, clear and non-real. Nagasawa pushes her gestures, increases her speed, shows us only what he wants to show us. The action is crisp, always holding its abstract shape. No naturalistic touches distract from the core form of what Uzume does.
Alongside Nagasawa, Yasuji Mori was now coming into a role close to that of the now-standard 作監督 sakuga kantoku aka sakkan or animation director, an experienced artist whose job is to correct the drawings from many different key animators to keep them on-model. Modern anime productions tend to have a strictly hierarchical approach where the characters are designed by one or a few character designers, usually also the lead sakkan. At Toei, things had been a bit more fluid - the individual animators would often design the characters they were going to animate, with a division of labour closer to the old Disney style. On this film, it became more of a hybrid: Mori drew the final model sheets, but the animators would submit suggested designs to him.
For the most elaborate scenes, such as the dance, they went to great lengths to record a suitable score and record live-action footage with professional ballet dancers. I encourage you to read the AniObsessive article for the details.
At the time of Wanpaku Ōji, Toei was starting to face competition. The already-renowned mangaka Osamu Tezuka had founded MushiPro, which was rapidly taking over TV, and the sphere of TMS satellite studios were starting to get going and siphon away many of their best people such as Yasuo Ōtsuka. Still, the animators at Toei were determined to try and stand alongside international animators:
The team was well aware of the trends in world animation at that time. According to Nagasawa, they were watching work from Canada (Norman McLaren), Czechoslovakia (Jiří Trnka), Russia (The Snow Queen), France (The King and the Mockingbird) and so on. It was all bold, new animation. In The Little Prince, Toei took up the challenge this work presented, without simply copying it. The team contributed to modern animation while staying rooted in the ancient, and in Japan itself.
Subsequently, Japanese animation is sometimes divided into a ‘Toei tradition’ vs. a ‘MushiPro tradition’, of full vs limited animation respectively, followed by the various successors such as Ghibli on the one hand and Madhouse on the other. As ever this is not really very accurate, and both ‘lineages’ crossed over extensively (just look at Kanada).
Toei’s own output adapted to the times. Takahata’s Horus: Prince of the Sun (AN 70) might be the last of the ambitious movies in their old style; after this, the fairytale films were gradually replaced by gekiga animation such as Tiger Mask, super robots like Mazinger Z, and then at the end of the 70s increasingly science fiction adaptations of Leiji Matsumoto’s works (AN 146). In the 80s, shōnen exploded onto the scene and Toei made a lot of Dragon Ball and Saint Seiya, later joined by other franchises like PreCure, Digimon and One Piece. So Toei remains one of the largest and most robust animation studios in Japan. They’ve got a lot of salaried staff, a union(!), and regular work in the form of wildly popular franchises. But occasionally they’ll make something cool and weird within that remit, like Hosoda’s One Piece film (AN61), Kyōsōgiga (AN98) - or Interstella 5555 which we watched last week.
So! Tonight though we’re going to go back and look at those ambitious early days, where it started, with snakes and dragons and a bishōjo who’s 美 enough to inspire the entire career of Hayao Miyazaki. Animation Night 149 will begin at 20:00 UK time (UTC), (13:00 California time), at twitch.tv/canmom - hope to see you there!
And next week I have a serious treat for you, because the Inu-Oh BD finally dropped. Can’t think of something more perfect for #150 than returning to Masaaki Yuasa.
And now to spend the rest of the day until 8pm on intensive gamdev 😵💫

ANON TIME ok do you have an opinion on lurkers??? like swifties who don't reblog but like stuff often? I do it all the time since i'm not a swiftie blog on main but i still adore the swiftie fandom! (usually). Some people seem to dislike lurkers since we never reblog and spread content.
oooh good question. i’m not really a content creator per se (just me and my parallels basically) but the like/reblog ratio thing has Always been a problem and it can get SUPER frustrating, especially when you’re a creator who spends real time and effort doing something for freeeeee (yes bc they enjoy it but also bc they want others to be able to enjoy it) and the best way to show appreciation for that is to reblog (and if you’re feeling talkative and extra complimentary, leaving nice tags is always appreciated too 😌)
i can’t say i have a personal ‘opinion’ in the way that some people hate spam liking without reblogging etc and i can’t say i ~dislike~ people who do lurk like that, but i know it can get frustrating for people on the receiving end of it. if you’re open to it, maybe start a sideblog! or if you wanna post on main, start a taylor tag so people can filter it if they don’t wanna see!
#asks#anon#thanks for asking!!#like for example this is a sideblog lol but even while i was still using my main i’d post taylor and make sure to tag it#and i do the same thing here when i post other stuff like. 5sos i know people don’t necessarily care to see it so i tag it all the same#and at some point i just decided to make a taylor sideblog bc i wanted to be able to have it in one place and whatever yknow?

While I work on the one-shot, hopefully get it out tomorrow(I was sick yesterday lol). Take some incorrect quotes :3
—————
De-de, staring at Odi in a cage: ...Why are they in a cage?
Cole: Because they growled at me.
—————
Jay: You’re insane!
Odi: Sure I am, what’s your point?
—————
De-de: I’m sad.
Jay: Don’t be sad, because sad backwards is das.
Jay: And das not good.
—————
Odi: I’m totally useless.
De-de: You’re not totally useless.
De-de: You can be used as a bad example.
—————
*The Squad is playing Chess*
Zane: *easily beats everyone because they know how to play*
Odi: *doesn’t know the rules, but wins anyway*
De-de: *doesn’t know the rules, and loses*
Nya: *knows the rules, but still loses to those who don’t*
Kai: Actually, you can’t do that, because I said so.
Jay: They named a board game after cheese?
—————
[Context: after season 4]
Kai: De-de, my old friend!
De-de: I think you tried to kill me at some point.
Kai: That was obviously just my way of getting to know you.
—————
De-de: What situation is not instantly improved by the addition of fishnets, I ask you.
Kai: Being a fish.
De-de: Well, shit.
[Kai saying De-de can’t wear fishnets on missions 😔]
—————
Jay: I have a question.
Nya: Shoot.
Jay: Is the S or C in scent silent?
Odi: Fuck you, I’m going to be thinking about this all day.
Nya: Okay well, cent is pronounced the same way as scent so I’m gonna say the S is silent.
Jay: Okay, but sent is also spelled the same way.
Odi: Google says that the C was added in the late seventeenth century, so I guess the S is silent.
De-de: Plot twist, both the S and the C are silent and the E actually makes the sss sound.
Odi: De-de is not allowed to talk anymore.
—————
Odi: The first time I ever got upset in front of Jay, they put their arms around me and it was so awkward that I had to ask them if they were hugging me or reaching for something on the shelf behind me.
Jay: I was doing both, for your information.
De-de: The first time Jay hugged me, it was such a disaster we didn’t make eye contact for, like, a week after.
—————
Zane: I keep a picture of all of us in my wallet. Whenever I face difficulties, I take it out and stare at the picture.
The Squad: Awwww-
Zane: And I tell myself "If I can deal with these idiots, then I can deal with anything."
The Squad: Oh.
——————
De-de: If I say yes am I joining a cult?
Odi: Possibly.
De-de: I’m in.
——————
Odi, to Zane: Well, one of us has to be wrong and it’s not going to be me.
——————
Welp that’s all from me :3
That this mess and run freeeeee my lovelies! 🏃♀️🏃♀️

“God, Y/n! I can’t believe we’re finally done with high school!” Your best friend Yeri hugs you so tight you can barely breathe.
“Yeah…” you mumble, staring wistfully off into the distance.
“Why do you look so down, Y/n? We’re finally freeeeee!”
You shoot your best friend a death stare.
“Ohh… I get it,” Yeri says, waggling her eyebrows and jutting her bony elbow into your ribs. “You’re thinking about him.”
You sigh dramatically. Yeri knows all your troubles. Like how you’re in head over heels in love with your tall, dark and handsome physics teacher, Mr Kim.
“I just can’t believe this is my last day with him, Yeri. What am I supposed to do without him?” You picture yourself wandering aimlessly around some college campus, with only a faded picture of Mr Kim to call your friend.
“Don’t be sad! There’s gonna be loads of hot boys at college and you know it.”
“I guess you’re right…”
Yeri flashes her pearly teeth at you as she fixes her purple headband. “Well let’s go, we don’t want to miss the afterparty!”
You suddenly remember the crumpled piece of paper tucked away in your blazer pocket. “You go on ahead without me, I’ll uh… catch you up.”
“Alright, but you better be there!”
She blows you a kiss and runs off to join the rest of your class. You know you should join them too, but there’s one last thing you have to do.
You can’t possibly leave without saying goodbye.
You hurry over to the science department on the far edge of the campus. Most teachers would be home by now, but you know exactly where he’ll be.
Your heart races as you pace down the darkened corridor of the physics department. You finally reach Mr Kim’s classroom, and when you peer in through the glass, your stomach does a summersault.
Mr Kim is sitting at his desk, nose buried in some papers. His chocolatey skin is rich against his crisp white shirt, and the black waistcoat he always wears barely hides the strong planes of muscles you know lie underneath.
He looks so handsome you worry your heart will burst from just looking at him.
Before you can lose your nerve, you push open the door and walk in. “Mr Kim!”
Mr Kim looks up at the sound of your voice. His cappuccino eyes light up when he sees you, and the half-smile that appears on his face knocks the wind out of your lungs.
“Ahh it’s my favourite student! I was hoping you’d come and see me before you left. I can’t believe you’re all grown up now, Y/n.”
Your hand that clutches the paper in your pocket begins to tremble.
“Mr Kim, I… I-”
You shut your mouth, afraid that if you start talking about your feelings, you’ll never stop.
Mr Kim’s face softens. He stands up from his desk and walks towards you. “I know, Y/n. I’ll miss you too.”
A vagabond tear trickles down your cheek. You bite your lip.
Mr Kim reaches his hand up to your face. His thumb swipes across your cheek gently, sending butterflies rushing through your body.
“Don’t cry, Y/n. We had a good run, didn’t we?” Mr Kim chuckles as he thinks back on the four years he’s taught you. Truthfully, those were some of the best days of his life.
He’s used to students moving on – that’s all part of being a teacher - so he can’t understand why this time, it just hurts so much.
Your heart feels like it’s tearing in two. Mr Kim is your first love, and this is the last time you’re ever going to see him.
“I-I wrote you a letter.” You press the paper which holds your deepest feelings into his palm, ignoring the sparks that fly where your skin touches his.
Your heart starts to race as you watch Mr Kim unfold the paper and start to read it. Suddenly, the tension becomes too much to bear, and you just have to get out.
“Uh… I’ve gotta go!” you blurt out. Mr Kim opens his mouth to say something, but you dash out of the classroom before he gets the chance.
You lean against the door at the end of the corridor, finally letting the tears flow freely.
You grip the door handle, ready to leave this school once and for all. Suddenly, your movements slip into slow motion. You push down on the door handle. You start to pull the door open…
“Y/n, wait!”
You stop in your tracks. You’d know that voice anywhere. It’s the voice that has been in your dreams every night for the last four years.
You turn around slowly, your heart threatening to leap right out of your ribcage.
Mr Kim is clutching your letter in the palm of his hand, looking like you’ve never seen him before. His dark cheeks are flushed red, and his starry eyes are glassy.
“Did you mean it? Did you mean what you wrote?” he pants. Mr Kim takes a step towards you, so close that you can smell his cinnamon cologne.
You nod. “I meant every word, Mr Kim.”
“Jongin,” he says. “You can call me Jongin.”
Your voice drops to a whisper, “I meant every word… Jongin.”
Jongin’s eyes crinkle in a smile. “I’ve waited for so long for you to call me that, Y/n. I can’t believe I’m saying this… but I love you too.”
Your mind starts reeling. You gawp at him in utter disbelief.
Jongin rushes to fill the silence. “I mean… you’re eighteen now, and I’m only six years older than you. Plus, I’m not your teacher anymore, so it could work. I just hav-”
You cut him off with a finger on his lips. They’re so pillowy soft, you have to force yourself not to crumble.
You slowly drop your hand to his shoulder, lightly tracing over his cotton shirt. Jongin brings his own hand up yours, gripping it softly.
“Can I kiss you?” he asks.
“Yes,” you respond.
Jongin leans down towards you, his eyes fluttering shut. You stand on your tiptoes to meet him. His lips touch yours, and it’s more perfect than you could ever dream of. His plump lips stay pressed against yours softly, not doing anything more, but you’re so happy.
Jongin uncurls his other hand and rests it on your waist. The letter slips out of his hand and floats softly down to the dust.
“Dear Mr Kim,
Sometimes it feels like I’ve loved you my whole life. You’re everything to me…
The stars pale in comparison to you.
I’m all yours, only yours.
Y/n.”

Running in Circles
✤ guard captain!Mingi x thief!reader ✤ genre: Guard AU // smidge of fluff, (semi)enemies-to-friends. (feat. Yunho) ✤ t/w: sfw, none - except very brief mentions of some fighting, rated PG ✤ count: 3k ✤ [ part 3 ] of Lacuna miniseries
a/n - huge apologies for keeping Captain Song in for a so long but alas, he’s finally freeeeee. I really need to pick up the pace with continuing on with this mini series 😅 this idea sorta played out better in my head than out in words - I’m not 100% happy with this, it’s defs not my best but I shall practise writing more Mingi fics in the future! This is also probably the tamest of the lot in terms of cry-level. Just preparing you guys with an easy read before the shitstorm that awaits in the next member on the list one shot hahahahahahaha. @hereisleo & @barsformars hope you both enjoy this for ya man 😉 I couldn’t bring myself to hurt this giant teddybear too much in writing. Also everyone, let’s welcome back a familiar face within this one shot :P
In all of his years of being a royal palace guard of Aethevintis, nothing would cause his body to seize up with tension instantly and hasten the greys that threaten to come through his still youthful auburn tresses than when he was requested at the interrogation chamber.
Heavy steps echoed off the dark granite stone floors, the sharp clinking from an array of medals that hung proudly to signify his prestige were in sync with his tense pace. Song Mingi had no problem exercising command and authority when it was needed, in fact, he prided himself in doing so.
He was good at his job, and he knew that.
Otherwise the title of Captain wouldn’t had been bestowed upon him that four winters ago. The real struggle was when his confidence in being assertive was mistaken for the ability to intimidate, broad body physique to further fuel that common misconception. And so Mingi often found himself sat in that bleak chamber with some poor unfortunate soul, who had been frightened into admitting nothing more than petty crimes.
He’d argue such tactics were unnecessary. Running his hand frustratingly through his hair for the umpteenth time, Mingi mentally braced himself for whatever...or rather whoever awaited for his arrival.
Rounding the corner, his brows arched up with surprise upon seeing the King standing in front of the chamber doors. The troubled look that replaced the King’s usual ebullient features prompted Mingi to straighten his posture immediately; this was sure to be a serious matter. “Good afternoon Sire…”
Yunho turned towards the rich baritone voice of the Guard Captain and rigid shoulders relaxed ever so slightly at the sight of one of his most trusted.
“Captain Song,” Yunho nodded in acknowledgement, “Although I’m not sure if it’s entirely good at all.”
Mingi’s forehead creased but remained silent to allow the King to further elaborate about his plight.
“The Queen’s aquamarine diamond parure has been stolen, and I suspect a selection of other jewels too. Those I care not for as much as the diamond parure…it’s got high sentimental value as it was passed down within the family from my great-great-grandmother.”
“That certainly isn’t good at all. Has the perpetrator been caught yet, Sire?”
“As luck would have it, yes actually. And I’ve been told that you would be the perfect person to know how to handle this….situation,” at saying this Yunho fully turned to face Mingi. The falchion in his belt’s scabbard felt heavy and a million and one thoughts were running through his mind at once.
“Mingi…”
Mingi could see the sincerity in Yunho’s eyes and the hesitation in spilling out the words that needed to be said.
“I hope you know that in any other circumstances, I would not be requesting you to deal with such matters that you have immense dislike for. I apologise for putting you in such a position. This…certain individual has crossed paths with you before and I’m hoping with that familiarity you may be able to coax them to reveal where the diamond parrure is. How you do so, I’ll leave that up to your discretion.”
Oh.
Well that wasn’t what Mingi was expecting to hear. A certain individual he’s familiar with?
He straightened his back and gave a determined nod of his head, “I shall do my best Sire. That room may be the bane of my existence but this matter is clearly of importance to you, let us hope the thief can be convinced to comply.”
“You have my utmost gratitude Mingi,” Yunho said, reaching his hand up to give Mingi’s shoulder a comforting squeeze before making his way out of the grim dungeon hallway.
Mingi waited till the King was out of sight before turning to face the chamber. Taking a deep breath, he steeled his heart and pushed open the doors with slight force.
“Well, well if it isn’t my favourite Captain of the guards. Come to keep me company for the evening?”
If he wasn’t already sweating before, he sure was now. That oh-so coquettish voice he’s grown to recognise almost immediately, fell on his ears.
You sent a cheshire grin to the tall figure, legs propped up on the worn-out wooden table and hands idly fiddling with the heavy brass shackles around your wrists. This certainly wasn’t the first time your paths had crossed but it was the first for you both to meet in a more dire setting.
Mingi feared for the implications of your capture.
Not just a mere thief of the streets but being the leader of Dusk Talons, the Royal Crown surely won’t pass up a chance to make an example of a core individual from the renowned thief guild.
“You ought to close your mouth, otherwise the flies will get in.”
One of the guards closer to you brought his fist down on the table, a mere tactic meant to frighten you. However, all it got out of you was the bored glance you sent to the guard who started berating you for talking back to Captain Song.
Mingi let out a sigh, “That’s enough. I can take it from here, you all are dismissed.” The command was given to the other guards in the room as he settled into the chair across from you. They left without a fuss and silence encompassed the room, though not for long.
“Would you please be a dear and help with this?” you asked, chains jangling as you held out your cuffed wrists towards Mingi.
“It would seem that’s not needed at all,” a ghost of a smile gracing his lips, “your handy work got the job done for you.”
“You’re no fun.”
Not admitting out loud, you were slightly impressed that the guard captain didn’t let your lock-picking slip by him. The shackles dropped on to the table and you made a show of stretching your arms out, body arching lithely off the chair. Your loose tunic rode up just shy of showing skin, causing Mingi to avert his eyes out of respect.
That widened your grin.
Mingi let out an awkward cough, any pre-planned script he had for questioning was abandoned. You weren’t entirely a stranger to him nor were you an acquaintance – if the laws even allowed for that. But Mingi didn’t feel right about making you go through the same interrogation protocol as previous criminals had to. You weren’t like them.
“I can’t tell if you thrive off the riskiest raids or that you don’t fear anything nor anyone. Going after Her Majesty’s diamond parure? Of all things!”
An airy chuckle left you, “If I didn’t know better…you sound awfully worried for me, Captain.”
“Shouldn’t you be at least more careful? What would become of your family if something were to really happen to you?”
The grin on your face disappeared immediately.
Mingi continued when he didn’t hear a response, “I’ve seen you…giving food and gold back to those in the Lower Wrean. I know some of the funds for the city’s orphanages are provided by your guild. And that one time…the only reason why you led the attack on our eastern outpost was to rescue a few of your own and relocate some of the nomad camps away from potential crossfire. You don’t abandon family, right?”
These were the things that convinced Mingi, you weren’t really all bad. Questionable choices? Sure. Morals? A little grey. Although underneath the layers, your intentions have always stemmed from a compassionate heart.
“What’s to the rich if they lose a few here and there? They have far more than enough, so to us, they’re top of the list of contributors.”
Mingi remembered you telling him that when he had first caught you escaping from one of the noble’s house. Your guild only ever stole from the rich and it was a bonus if the corrupted was targeted too. Mingi, who then was still under the command of the previous captain, hesitated to pursue. For his moral compass went spiralling. Being bound to carry out his royal duty or close a blind eye because he empathised with what you stood for.
Empathy.
Nothing more than a weak link, according to his captain. There was little room for that, just as grey had no place among Aethevintis’ black-or-white justice system.
Hence, a thief was still a thief at the end of the day. Even for a good cause, by definition you were on the opposing side.
You continued to observe Mingi in silence, with a neutral expression, as you let his words sink in. Captain Song was much different than his predecessors. An unspoken level of mutual respect had developed between you both somewhere along the way of your encounters. The way he led with his heart rather than blind authority was admirable.
“We do what we must to get by. My family…as you so kindly put it…are capable of adapting to whatever circumstances are thrown their way. Risk is an inevitable norm for us.”
At least, you could appreciate Mingi looking at you without that faux sympathy.
“And I’ve lived doing what I do best…that is to survive. Being careful only gets you so far but being smart, well, you could go just about anywhere with that.”
With a rather loud yawn you broke the tension in the dim room. The grin reappeared back on your face and you slinked backwards on the chair. Mingi was contemplating on whether switching back to the original subject of this…talk…would be a good idea or not. He needed a starting basis, a hint of sorts from you in order to give direction where he’d be searching for the missing parure.
Betting on the fact that you don’t wholly despise him, Mingi tried his luck. “Now I do have a job to complete, and I’m sure we both would rather spend our time elsewhere other than down here…”
“Aww, I thought we were having a good time getting to know each other better. Don’t get to do that as much on the streets now, do we?”
“What have you done with Her Majesty’s parure?” asked Mingi, keeping his tone levelled.
“You sure are set on that huh? What’s in it for you if you successfully retrieve the jewels?”
Tilting your head, eyes sparking a challenge. Only to be met with determination glinting off Mingi’s own pair of dark chocolate brown orbs.
“Nothing more than the satisfaction of returning a precious family heirloom back to my King. It’s of great importance and sentiment to him.”
You wished you could find fault in his resolution. Yet again, Mingi was nothing but honest in answering you.
Surely, you could play a little nicer this time, right?
“Hmm, I’ll think about it. I’m feeling rather parched as well…any chance I could get some fresh water?”
Sensing you weren’t going to give in anytime soon, Mingi drew in a deep breath and exhaled. Standing up he offered, “And I’m guessing you haven’t had anything to eat?”
“You’re offering?”
“This is an interrogation chamber, not a torture one.”
Mingi left to gather the necessities. Head filled with too many conflicting thoughts, that he missed the growing grin on your lips and the space where the dungeon keys previously sat on his belt.
“THE PRISONER HAS ESCAPED!”
“FIRE IN THE COURTYARD!”
It was havoc.
The thunderous sound of fireworks broke through the tranquil evening. Catching everyone by surprise and confusion arose as to why bursts of colourful sparks were going off within the palace grounds. When some of the flag banners and trees caught fire from the stray sparks, it caused a flurry of panic.
And to make matters worse – the guards had lost you.
Mingi finished over-seeing the last batch of palace staff into the safe area. “All palace guards are to stay by the doors to the throne room and west wing! No one is to leave or enter until my unit and I have done a final sweep of the grounds, “ he ordered.
Part of the team was put in charge of getting the fires under control. He deduced the fireworks were set off as an intended distraction and, a successful one at that too. Mingi’s priority was now to prevent you from escaping.
He heard the commotion and shouting before, “CAPTAIN! THE SOUTHWEST WALLS!”
You held your own and by the time Mingi had reached your location, the guards who were stationed there were knocked out cold on the ground. A minor cut bled slightly from your left cheek and you looked a little more roughed up than when Mingi had last seen you.
“Here I was thinking this would be a clean goodbye…” you said, securing the rope around your waist that Mingi noticed was tied to the stone merlons. He also saw a couple of dark-coloured pouches with you that weren’t present on your attire during the interrogation.
Three guesses as to what filled those pouches.
You followed his eyes to where they were fixated on, “Ah yes, amongst thieves it’s the number one rule to not hide our spoils on ourselves…lest we get caught.”
A series of sharp whistles was heard. The signal that your guild had completed their tasks and was awaiting to reunite with their leader down below at the meeting point. You blew three consecutive similar whistles back in response.
“Wait!”
You paused with one foot up on the stone edge. Turning back to look, you saw Mingi’s hand hover slightly over his falchion.
“Are you going to try and stop me?”
‘No. But I will ask once more, where is the diamond parure? I know the cold season approaches and you’ll need all the resources you can get. Those gold and other jewels you’ve got there should be sufficient enough. So please….”
Having already made your decision the moment you slammed the doors to the chamber out, simultaneously breaking the noses of the unsuspecting guards, you knew what you had to do. But that didn’t prevent you from adding a little dramatic flair.
After all, you want to stay memorable in Captain Song’s books.
“You just don’t know when to give up, do you?”
Your voice dripping with light sweetness, eyes locked on his as you made your way right up to him. Your hand darted out to grab his falchion and on reflex, Mingi intercepted – large calloused warm hand latching around your wrist.
“But maybe that’s what makes so different from the others…” You flipped his hand so it faced palm up, and placed a familiar cobalt blue pouch on it. “You’re a good man, Captain Song. Thinking with your heart doesn’t make you weak…this world needs more of that, more of people like you.”
You watched his shoulders fall with relief and the look he had in his eyes change into something you couldn’t quite discern. Mingi nestled the pouch carefully towards his body, the delicate clinking confirmed its fragile contents within. And he didn’t feel the need to look inside for confirmation; he trusted you.
“If we were to meet in another lifetime, I hope we’d be on better terms then. Preferably one leaning closer to friends.”
A genuine smile crept up from the corners of your lips upon hearing Mingi’s words.
“That sounds rather nice, actually.”
You could definitely use a friend like Mingi in your second lifetime, should fate ever be so kind to give you another shot.
“CAPTAIN!”
The clamouring of guards and blades being drawn drew closer and you could hear the running of feet up the stairs.
“Well, that’s my cue to leave. And I am so sorry for doing this but…”
And you physically winced when you sent a knee to his gut, causing Mingi to collapse and gasp for air.
“…Captain Song wouldn’t go down without a fight and this makes it look less like you just let a scummy thief off the hook.”
Mingi waved his other gloved hand, “I…understand – you ought to hurry…” he managed to cough out the words.
“Don’t be a stranger.”
With that, Mingi watched you leap over the wall’s edge just as back-up from his unit arrived. Not only did you leave him with the Queen’s jewels and potentially a bruise or two, you also left him with a new sense of comfort.
Two worlds apart. Two unlikely individuals who were both willing to cross the bridge that’s been built to fill the gap, to meet in the middle.
Yeah, this was a change he could get used to.
“Thank you Captain Song!” cheered the orphans, watching with admiration at how effortlessly Mingi climbed the tree to recover their kite that got stuck in the tall branches.
He soon found his legs to be attacked with hugs from several pairs of petite arms.
Mingi returned the affections with gentle head pats and a, “Be careful not to run too fast and watch where you’re going!”
The townspeople greeted him as he patrolled his rounds. Even scoring a ruby red freshly-picked apple from one of the vendors. Today would be a breeze. Golden rays of the sun shone down warmly and the morning air was still crisp. Mingi was already planning to finish his shift early and go see if he could convince Yunho to sneak away from royal duties for a round of archery out by the fields.
“STOP! THIEF!”
Just like that, his trail of thoughts were cut short. Mingi snapped his attention towards the direction where the yelling came from. Jogging over to where the crowd had gathered, he was nearly bowled over by a fleeting figure.
Upon making eye contact for that split second, he could recognise your mirthful eyes from anywhere.
Your eyes crinkled with delight and being bold as to send a wink his way. But your feet never stopped sprinting and within seconds, Mingi had lost you among the sea of townspeople who still went about their business on the street.
“THEY WENT THAT WAY!”
Mingi looked back to see some of his unit tailing after a few hooded figures who disappeared into the maze of alleyways. Your guild sure knew the layout of the town inside out.
A sigh escaped him. So much for finishing up early for the day.
But if it was a chase you wanted, then it would be a chase you’ll get. Being the respectful gentleman that he was, he’d let you have a head start of course.
Maybe one day, when he’s old and cranky, worn out to his bones – he’d stop running in circles after you.
Luckily for you both, today wasn’t that day.

This is a fun side story that I decided to write. I hope you enjoy the pairing.
Chapter 12.) About Last Night.
Leo Rys has always done his own thing and lived life by his own rules. He enjoys the freedom to go where he wants, when he wants and for however long he wants. With him no longer Crown Prince of Cordonia, he wasn’t beholden to the responsibility, commitment and weight that the crown carries. To him, that life was more a living nightmare than a dream come true.
Having the lives of Cordonia and all her people in his hands scared him. Which is why he told his father that the crown should go to his younger brother, Marquise. Marquise would be a far better king than Leo could ever hope to be. And he was right.
No matter where his new nomadic life took him, Leo always made sure to come home from time to time. Especially when there was a ball or party being thrown. Like the party for the debut of his soon to be sister in law, Duchess Shanelle Dawkins of Volterias.
The party was great. The drinks were flowing like a river. The people were mixing and mingling. And the dancing was on point. But the best part about the night is that he was home. Even though he was no longer Crown Prince, Cordonia is still in his heart and is still home. And he is home to celebrate his brother and future sister in law.
But that night wouldn’t go the way he’d plan it to go.
After catching up with old friends, rivals and several old flames, Leo was sitting at the bar going on his third whiskey neat, when he saw Hana. She was being tortured by Ambassador Kennett and his endless yapping. Whether it was about politics or worse his penchant for golfing, fishing, hunting or his vintage 1956 Roadster, the man NEVER knows when to shut up. So he had to rescue her from him.
He Interrupted their conversation and successfully saved her from a fate worse than death. And to make sure that they weren’t followed by the ambassador, he took her out on the dance floor. It might’ve been the alcohol in his system but, he noticed how petite and pretty she was. And that she was blushing.
“Maybe she…nah I’m not her type.” He thought to himself as they danced.
After dancing to song after song, Hana’s were getting sore so he suggested that they take a break and go for a walk. When she agreed to a walk, they took a stroll to his favorite side courtyard in the whole palace. It was one designed by Marquise’s mother Eleanor. She would sneak him and Marquise out of their lessons, just to spend time with them there. So it’s always been one of his favorite places to go to.
They sat down on a bench and talked about what their lives were like growing up. What they saw themselves doing in 10-20 years. And what his favorite destinations to visit were. And for her, he was something she never expected. He’s funny. He’s got a great smile. She loved his soft baby blue eyes. And he’s quite the accomplished dancer. She had never had a crush on someone but she felt like she was developing a crush on him.
“How about another drink?” He asks her.
“Haven’t you had enough to drink Leo?” She asked with a teasing smirk.
“Nooooo! Besides I got this killer bottle of tequila that I got in Guadalajara back in my room, that I’m dying to open. Soooo…pretty please?” He asks her, while batting his eyelashes. It made her giggle when he asked.
“Okay. I’m curious about this bottle you have.” She replies.
“Sweet! Follow me m’lady.” He says as he offers her his arm. When they got to his room, Hana was impressed by the size.
“You got one of the bigger rooms in the palace!” She says to him.
“Perks of being part of The Royal Family. I still get to be spoiled even though I abdicated the throne. Dad made sure that I got my favorite bedroom.”
“I’m glad that you and him are close.”
He sat down on the bench at the end of his bed before he spoke.
“Ohhh yeah. He was more disappointed than angry about me abdicating. He was hoping that me becoming king would mellow me out. But if anything it made me hate the throne even more. Which is why I don’t envy my younger brother. He bears the weight of an entire nation. Their expectations, their fears, their anger, their frustration and especially their judgement. I didn’t want that life for myself. I saw what it did to my dad. How it changed him. Made his paranoia even worse than it was before mom’s death.”
“So that’s why you left?” She asks as she sits next to him.
“Yes. Because, I was never meant to be a king. It wasn’t in my heart nor was it something that I wanted to do. I have a temper. Marquise has temperament. He always wanted the throne but, because of hierarchy and the rules behind it, the throne went to me. And believe me Hana, it wasn’t an easy nor overnight decision for me to come to. I knew I’d be disappointing my dad and leaving Marquise to bear the unbearable burden of the crown, but I just knew I’d never be the king that Cordonia desperately needed.” He replied.
Talking to her made him face some of the demons he’d been running from.
“Thank you for sharing that with me, Leo.”
“Nah. It’s the alcohol. My dad calls it my truth serum. Speaking of which! We got a bottle to open!”
He got up and walked to his suitcase and pulled out a bottle of golden tequila.
“May I introduce to you the finest tequila in all the lands? This is Dioses del sol y de la tierra. It is the best tequila I have ever had!” He said as he introduced her to the bottle.
She just shook her head and giggled.
“Let the shots begin m’lady!”
They drank, danced and laughed together. Hana wasn’t like Madeleine. She was a nightmarish robot who was after the crown. She was pure, wholesome, beautiful and sweet. And an absolute joy to be around. Especially when she was drunk.
“I have never had this much fun ever!” She drunkenly squealed.
“I sure have! I have it all the time!” He said to her.
“Of course you have! You’re freeeeee!”
“You gotta try it sweetheart! Freedom is the best medicine for the soooouuuul!”
Hana took a swig from the bottle then spun around but lost her footing and would’ve fallen if Leo hadn’t caught her.
“Whoa! Noble lady overboard!” He said as he caught her.
“Wheeeeeeeeee!” Hana said with a giggle.
With the bottle finally gone, the pair were sitting on his bed giggling at each other.
“Oh my God! Leo! This was soooooo much fun!”
“Yeah I know. We gotta do it again the next time I come home!”
They started laughing at each other again.
“Has anyone ever told you that you’re very very handsome?” She asked him.
“Not really. The ladies usually go for my brother.” He replies.
“Well I think you’re really handsome.”
“That’s the tequila talking. But it’s a good joke.”
“Not everything is a joke, Leo.”
“You’re serious?” He asks her. She nodded her head yes.
“Ohhh…so if I kissed you, you wouldn’t be mad?” He asked. She shook her head no.
“Ohhh well in that case…” he trailed off before kissing her. The kiss was sloppy at first but got hot and heavy fast. When the kiss came to an end, they were breathless.
“Woooooow!” He said to her.
“Was it bad?” She asked.
“Hell no! As a matter of fact, I’d like to do it again.”
“Fine by me.”
He pulled her into his lap as he kissed her again. Her skin was smooth. Her lips are soft and supple. She tasted like tequila. Not that he was complaining about it. There was something about Hana that he couldn’t get enough of. With his arms around her petite frame he deepened their kiss. One thing is for sure, Leo is no slouch when it comes to kissing. He broke their kiss to look in her eyes.
“I’m sorry, Hana. I shouldn’t have done that.” He said to her.
“No you shouldn’t have. But I’m glad you did.” She replies. Every ounce of shyness Hana had was replaced with lust thanks to all the drinking they were doing.
“Is this about to go where I think it is?” He asks her.
“I wouldn’t mind.” She replied.
With that he kissed her again, harder and deeper than before. They were blissfully drunk and horny for one another. He trailed kisses from her jaw to her neck. Eliciting a sound that was a mix of soft moan and a gasp. They made quick work of getting each other out of their clothes. She was beautiful to him and he was hot to her.
He resumed kissing her neck with his hands all over her. When his hands reached her nipples, he ran his thumbs over them making them harden under his touch. She couldn’t help but moan when he touched her. He kept rubbing her nipples and sucking on her neck He let one hand travel lower between her legs. When he reached her center, she was warm. But he was about to make her hot.
He began using his fingers to circle her clit and play with her entrance. The sensation was causing her to grind against his fingers. He wanted her soaking wet for him. Thankfully it didn’t take long for that to happen. When she wanted more, she groaned impatiently.
“I guess that means you want more.” He whispered in her ear.
“Yes! Yes!” She moaned.
He took that as a cue then grabbed a condom out of his wallet and put it on. When he turned back to look at Hana, he was in awe. She really was beautiful naked. She bit her bottom lip as she looked at him. With a crook of her finger she beckoned him to her. With a sly grin he went to her. He climbed on top of her with lust in his eyes and a question on his lips.
“Are you ready?” He asks.
“Hell yeah!” She replied.
She didn’t know what to expect when it came to sex with Leo. But if anything she wasn’t expecting him to be big. But when he entered her, she found out that she was wrong. He was well endowed. He went slow to allow her muscles to get used to him being inside her. She moaned impatiently because she wanted him to fuck her.
Taking that as another cue from her, Leo found his groove and began to really fuck her. Every thrust from him was fast and hard. He was going deep inside then coming almost all the way out, just to slam back into her. Her moans, groans, cries of pleasure, shrieks and whimpers were fuel to him so he would keep going.
He had one hand on the headboard behind her to steady himself and the other rubbing her clit. He wants her to explode with him. The stimulation from him sent her over the edge and crashing into her orgasm. Feeling her muscles squeeze his length sent him to the moon. He emptied himself into the condom then passed out with her.
When Leo woke up later, he was hungover and pretty sure he’d just had in a weird dream that involved him and sex with Hana. The dream became reality, when he saw the empty tequila bottle and the used condom. That’s when he looked over and saw Hana passed out next to him.
“Oh shit! This is VERY bad!” He muttered, before grabbing his phone and texting the person he knew to text: His brother Marquise.

This is too much. Homework, projects, reports, essays, exams, did all the teachers agree to put everything together this month? I can not believe it.
My brain can't even start something, just thinking about everything I have to do, my breathing stops, my heart hammers in my chest.
I thought that if I started my homework in the library everything would be easier, but I was very wrong. When I gathered all the books I needed, the scattered notebooks on the table and the thousands of web pages on my computer my anxiety only increased.
I look around me, the librarian is far away and the other students are very focused, I couldn't interrupt them. I feel a couple of tears wet my cheeks and I cover my mouth to prevent sobs from being heard. I can't believe I'm having a crisis at the library.
"Hey, are you alright?"
As soon as I hear a male voice beside me, I wipe my cheeks and look away. “Yes I am!”
The chair on the other side of my table is dragged and the boy sits on it. He puts his backpack in the only space left on the table.
"I don't think someone cries when they’re okay…”
I look up to meet my classmate: Gilbert Blythe.
"I'll be fine, don't worry," I open a book and pretend I know what I'm doing, ignoring the dark-haired man's gaze.
“Y/N, You don't have to pretend with me. What's wrong?"
I go back to him and bite my lower lip nervously. Just then, I realize something.
"Shouldn't you be doing the thousand things they have left us?"
He scratches the back of his neck nervously.
"Actually, that's why I came… I wanted a quiet place, I suppose you were looking for that too?"
"And I just got an anxiety attack…” I chuckle.
He looks at me concerned.
“I could help, you know– you don't have to do this on your own."
"Could you help me?"
"I have some things done, they could be of help to you and if you don't understand something... we can do some research,” He really tries not to make me feel worse. “You're also a good student, you could help me back…“
It’s not a bad idea. I ponder for a second.
"Come on, it’ll surely be faster, and..." He looks around. "We could go to another less depressing place?” He offers, leasing closer to my face.
I feel my cheeks flush.
"Ah... I– yes, it's fine,” I stutter a little.
————————————————
"We are freeeeee!" I scream as we step out onto the campus grounds holding up the final exam of the semester.
Gilbert laughs. We both shout with excitement regardless of the other students' looks.
When we're done, I can't help but hug Gilbert, my arms around his neck, and I can feel his arms around my waist. We’re both smiling.
"Thank you, Gilbert. I couldn't have done it without you!” He smiles.
"Hey, I would do anything to make you smile…“
Obviously, that made me smile even more. I stand on my tiptoes and kiss his cheek, but before I could break the hug, I feel his lips on mine in a quick kiss.
I look at him in surprise and I notice that he’s blushing. I don't wait long to put our lips back together in a sweet kiss.

Granny babysitting :)!
Chill out Killian, my dude
I guess Belle and Killian are buddies now
I wonder if Ursula can talk to fish. She called the ones in her house her babies.
I seriously hope that coat is not made of puppies!!
Go back to your girlfriend, Cruella! Sea Devil liiiiives!
Cruella: “Not exactly the religious sort.” Well her surname is De Vil lol.
This has always confused me. First they say Rumple created the dark curse, then the Queens of Darkness have to retrieve it for him, then they say the Black Fairy created it. Which one is it? I’m gonna go with, the Black Fairy created it, Runple needed it retrieved and then he claimed to have created it. Perhaps he made some adjustments to it.
Rumple, Ursula and Cruella ordering food at a drive in is freaking hilarious!!
Regina conquered entire realms? When?! And which ones?!
Oh yeah! I remember Rumple was the Professor Belle was in contact with! Very sneaky!
But Regina didn’t even say an incantation, like Belle said.
The fairies are freeeeee!
I wonder what it was like in there.
Uh oh! Did Rumple mean for that chernabog thing to be released too??
Couldn’t they have just followed Rumple through the door or have Maleficent teleport them out?
Oh yeah. I remember they thought the Author and the Sorcerer were one in the same at one point.
Why does the Sorcerer have the Author’s books? And Blue seems like she knows a lot more than she’s telling them. The way she said “no.” when Regina asked if she knew who the Author is seemed so shady.
Why are they assuming the Author is a dude?
If I saw that huge-ass monster I would simply run the hell home!
Just teleport, Mal!
Can’t Cruella control it?
Honestly, I’m surprised Cruella’s heart doesn’t have the most potential for darkness. She killed her own parents! Maleficent must have done some messed up stuff.
Cool scene! I love it when Emma and Regina use their magic together.
Couldn’t Regina have turned it to dust, like she did with Daniel?
If that’s the phone he used in SB, won’t they recognise his number?
Regina: “The Sea Bitch.”
Oh, they did recognise his number! That should have made them suspicious.
I wonder how Regina and this Ursula know each other.
Ursula about Cruella: “Yes. We’re back together” Sea Devil is canon!
Ursula helped Mal! That was very kind! Ursula does have a heart for other people. She always did. Maybe that’s something she’s tried to repress but she didn’t wanna kill pirate’s all those years ago and now she won’t let someone else be destroyed by that monster.
I wonder how they found Ingrid’s scroll
I like the twist that Emma had the most potential for darkness.
Love this car scene.
Aww. Regina tried to sacrifice herself for Emma.
Imagine having those huge hands try to grab you. Zoinks!
One thing about the Queens of Darkness is that none of them were ever all that formidable. We didn’t see them do many evil things in the past (except for Cruella, but by then it was too late) and we didn’t see them do many evil things in the present. I wasn’t genuinely frightened for the heroes like Zelena or Peter Pan made me. I didn’t find their presence as intriguing as Ingrid’s. I like them all well enough but when we were told they were going to have an arc, I was expecting to be genuinely scared for the heroes’ lives. I’ve always seen Maleficent as one of the most formidable and powerful Disney Villains. She’s probably my favourite. I’d have liked her to inspire more fear and for her to have shown even more of her power. They needed to have them kill in the present day, I think.
Poor Rumple. I wouldn’t have trusted them to let him in. He looks so sad. He’s got literally no reason to trust them.
That was very kind of them to let him in. I bet it was Ursula’s idea. While I’d put Mal and Cruella in Slytherin, I think I’d put Ursula in Gryffindor. Yes he says he’s going to help them but I think she did it because he helped get them that far and she wasn’t about to leave him in the middle of nowhere. Ursula has a big heart y’all! She just tries to hide it!
How on Earth would Cruella know that Malificent’s dead?
And how does Maleficent not die? What kind of creature is she? A fairy, like in Sleeping Beauty? That could explain how Blue woke up after being killed by that shadow monster!
Snowing, please just tell Emma what you did! I’m still annoyed that the writers made them do that.

Hiii cookie :D I'm so sorry for not replying sooner 😭 I got so busy in the evening because my parents had a little falling out, but everything is okay now!!
it'd really be so nice to do it together, I'm melting just thinking about it 😭😭‼️‼️
hehe but it's pretty long, tho I'm glad you think my judgement is good!! No rush hehe, I take so long to finish series tbh because I like watching it on the TV and I have to choose times when my family isn't around, as some of the scenes are a tad bit innapropriate haha. aww but I'm sure you'll do fine, it's just the overthinking getting to you. Tho you're very right, sometimes it's easy to panic because there are so many controls in a car and like which one?? Do I press¿¿ And when?? I thought I wouldn't know too, but my dad says I'm doing fine, so I guess that's good +_+
Number independence !! We are fighting for the freedom of our number supremacy nation 😭😭😭🎊. Off with the heads of the alphabet invaders 😾😾😾 I'm so sorry I'm very childish
OH MY GOSH I LOVE YOU.
yeah sadly that's true, most picrews look alike,, and the hair options are sadly limited :( maybe Pinterest has some options, then?
oh my gosh that's like the cutest story ever 😭😭😣😣 I hope someone takes care of the little dog, he seems like such a sweetheart!! and dogs can sense nice people, so I'm very sure he followed you for a reason besides you smelling good xD (thanks for sharing that with me, I'm smiling now) yooooo I'm #disappointedforyoutoo :( wdym no cheese and not spicy?? FALSE ADVERTISING ‼️‼️ I hope you get to have a better sandwich filled with loads of cheese.
Oh thanks for that!! My day is going well, and I'm just about to head on to sleep. I wrote a bit earlier, and went on a walk with my mom. And hmm, stayed on YouTube for a bit to watch a few videos with my brother 😳 it was a pretty boring day tbh, but it was relaxing. Tomorrow's gonna be better tho, I just know it.
😝😝💖💖 pretty sure I love you more. I mean, every time I see your messages I'm like "a human being?? Whom I haven't met?? Is able to get me feeling?? this much serotonin?? And I just wanna hug him so bad it hurts??" Yeah 😾😼
—ms. thanks-for-making-me-smile !!
Hi sun!!! It's alright, I hadn't responded earlier either, so its okay ^^ I'm glad everything's okay now
Same same, I take a while to watch because I rarely find time. Usually someone tries talking to me or there's something important that wasnt supposed to happen in the first place, which distracts me a lot and I forget about the shows😐 ngl it's annoying but kinda funny too
True true true!! Theres like a bazillion of those damn buttons and they look the same with some black and white picture on them, like sir you think that's understandable?? Bye. But I'm glad you're doing well, that's gonna be useful in the future :D
AHAHAH YES, this is war!😡🤺🤺 War against the alphabets! Set the numbers freeeeee
I've been searching pinterest for so long but theres only white boys with the same hairstyle, maybe I need another keywords😭
Awhh okay that made my day😭😭 I hope so as well. He was still a pupper I think, he was pretty big but smaller than an average dog and he was very fluffy, so I'm thinking hes still a kid, so it's even sadder:((
LITERALLY I'm gonna SUE them!!! I'm gonna make a sandwich of my own and I WILL share with you😡💕
That sounds so nice!! It sure sounds like a nice day. I wish today goes well for you, too! And I hope you slept well.
Trust me, whenever I see your message, it literally gives me motivation to work hard so I can meet you😭😭 but alright, consider this a tie right now💞 I still love you more😙💞💞

Mom Miyuki
Some of the human AUs I’ve seen got my thinking about what it’d be like if Zim had a parental figure, and rather than make up a character to fit that role, I thought it’d be interesting to use Miyuki, mostly because I want more content with her. So… I basically rewrote the Parent Teacher Night episode, in a universe where Tallest Miyuki didn’t die, and she kind of handed the reigns of the empire over to Red and Purple, and she stepped into the role of an advisor instead.
(I don’t plan on actually making any more content for this “AU”. I just thought it’d be fun to share what I’ve already made.)
Sharron stepped up to the walkway of the next house on the block, a small, green house with a yard full of garden gnomes whose eyes seemed to follow her. She’d seen stranger houses in her brief time as a makeup saleswoman, and as odd as the owners of that small, green house may be, she knew one thing for certain: there was a woman in there in need of makeup! So she squared her shoulders, put on a big grin, strode up to the front door, and pressed the doorbell.
Faint, mechanical whirring could be heard under the usual chime of the doorbell. Sharron ignored it in favor of pondering over the men’s bathroom sign hanging on the front door. A loud crashing of metal from within the house made her jump. She took a hesitant step back, wondering if she should just move on to the next house. The next second, the door opened, and she found herself staring up at the tallest, greenest woman she’d ever seen in her life. The trademark, saleswoman grin returned to her face.
“Hello! I’m selling makeup, and I just know you’ll find something you just have to have,” She said, lifting the green bag in her hand.
“Makeup?” The tall woman asked, squinting her blue eyes.
“Yes, for example, we have some foundation you might find helpful for covering your complexion.” Sharron opened the bag and reached in for a sample.
“My complexion?” The tall woman asked, lifting a gloved, three-fingered hand to her cheek. “Is there something wrong with it?”
“No! Not at all! We’re all beautiful in our own ways! But sometimes us ladies like to-.”
“Freeeeee stuuuuuffffff!!!!” A new voice shrieked from behind the tall woman. The woman, who seemed equally startled, moved aside, and a small, green dog launched out of the house and knocked Sharron onto her back, sending her makeup bag flying, and samples scattering everywhere.
“Gir!!” The tall woman shouted, running after the dog as it sprinted around the yard, collecting the samples in its stubby arms.
“Ah, um, I-I’ll just… come back later.” Sharron fumbled to grab her bag and shove as much makeup back inside as she could before dashing away, nearly running over a green-skinned boy.
Zim scowled at the saleswoman as she ran away. He had enough to worry about with the upcoming ‘parent teacher night’, without Gir allowing the humans near their base all the time.
“Wait! Come back!! I need stuuuuff!!” Gir shouted, running after the lady. Zim decided to ignore it. Parent teacher night was clearly the bigger problem.
“You! Human! Get out of Zim’s yard!!” He shouted at the other, taller, human female. Her green skin was odd. He’d thought a green skin condition was just something he’d made up to cover his own identity, but if it really existed it made his lie more believable. Her height was also pretty impressive….
“It’s me, Zim,” She said, narrowing her blue eyes. “I came to see how your mission’s going.”
Zim froze. Upon taking a closer look, she was really familiar. He gasped. “M-m-m-m-m-my- My- MY TALLEST!!!!” He screeched.
“Sshhhhhhh!!” Miyuki hissed, glancing around. The few humans that were nearby seemed relatively unperturbed. It was probably a good thing Zim had accidentally established himself as the ‘weird neighbor’ from the very beginning of his time on Urth.
“Tallest Miyuki! It’s such an honor to be visited by someone of your stature! Of course, I knew you would visit eventually, this is an extremely important mission, after all, why else would they have chosen it specifically for Zim!!” Zim rambled as Miyuki ushered him inside the base and closed the door so they could talk safely.
“I’m happy to report things are going well and the humans don’t suspect a thing, well, except for Dib- Oh!! That reminds me!! My Tallest!! I need your help!!”
“Help? With what?”
“Tonight is ‘parent teacher night’ at skool. Zim is expected to bring his parents to prove to the teachers, and Dib, that he is a normal human-creature like the rest of them. I was going to take the robo-parents, but with you here, you can be Zim’s mother!”
“Hmm… sounds interesting… I’ll do it!” Miyuki agreed. “But are you sure my disguise is good enough? That makeup-lady didn’t seem to think so….”
“Your disguise is perfect! It even fooled me!” Zim assured her.
-
At the school, in the cafeteria where the parent teacher meeting was being held, Zim led Miyuki directly over to where Ms. Bitters was talking with a group of other parents. He cleared his throat. Ms. Bitters turned to face him.
“This is my mother. I love her with all of my heart,” Zim said, motioning to Miyuki. Miyuki smiled and waved.
“I see Zim gets his skin condition from you,” Ms. Bitters commented in her gravely voice. “What about Zim’s father? Is he here tonight?”
“Ah, no… Zim’s father is-.”
“Zim has no need for two parents!” Zim interrupted. “My father is not here!” He paused briefly, then announced he was going to get punch and ran off.
“So, you’re a single mom?” Ms.Bitters asked.
“Yes!” Miyuki nodded proudly, “I have no need for help with something as simple as raising a child!” Then she turned and followed her son.
“No wonder that boy’s so messed up…,” Ms. Bitters mumbled.
“Gaz!! Look!!” Dib shook his sister. “Zim brought one of his alien leaders as his mom!!” Gaz grit her teeth and grumbled under her breath. “Dad!! There’s someone I want you to meet!” Dib ran over to the punch table where Zim and Miyuki were, followed by the hovering screen displaying his dad’s face.
“Look! Look! See? It’s the alien! And one of his leaders!” Dib exclaimed, pointing. The hovering screen flew right up in front of Miyuki.
“Please, forgive my son,” Professor Membrane said. “He’s just going through a paranormal phase and thinks everyone and everything is some kind of alien or cryptid.”
“That’s not true!!” Dib shouted, “They really are aliens!!”
“You, Scientist-man,” Miyuki said, pointing directly at Professor Membrane’s face. “Are you the one who caused that explosion I heard earlier?”
“No, no!” Professor Membrane said. “That was one of my employees!! Well, ex-employee now.”
“Good,” Miyuki said, “I would expect a civilization advanced enough to make such good punch to have scientists that at least know the difference between Chemical C and Chemical Z.”
“You can tell what caused an explosion just from the sound of it??” Professor Membrane asked, completely awestruck.
“Of course,” Miyuki said, standing proudly, “I was the best scientist, uh, where I come from.”
“Incredible!! You simply must come work for me!” The Professor exclaimed.
“No!! Dad!! She’s an alien!!” Dib screamed, jumping up and down, waving his arms to get his fathers attention. But Professor Membrane had already made up his mind and was going on about hours and wages and how nice it’d be to finally have another, true scientist around.
“My Ta-! Uh, I mean- Mom!! Take the job! It’s a really good opportunity!!” Zim shouted with heavy emphasis on ‘opportunity’.
“Daaaaaddd!!” Dib wailed, “Can’t you see they’re trying to learn about us so they can destroy us?!! You’re giving the enemy an advantage!!”
Tallest Miyuki was affronted at the idea of working for a human, but… she did like the idea of getting back into science… and her Tallest duties had become horribly mundane after handing the empire over to Red and Purple. Besides… Urth wasn’t nearly as bad as she’d been expecting. They certainly had good snacks.
“Alright,” She said finally. “I’ll do it!”
“Excellent!” Professor Membrane exclaimed.
“Noooooo!!!” Dib fell to his knees.
“Yes!! You lose this round, Dib-worm!! Now it’s only a matter of time!!” Zim cackled.
Tallest Miyuki felt a gentle tug on her blue, floor-length skirt. She looked down to see a purple-haired child beckoning to her. Intrigued, she knelt to listen to the little girl.
“You seem more competent than Zim,” Gaz said, “Are you really going to destroy the Earth?” Miyuki smiled.
“Can you keep a secret?” She asked. Gaz nodded. “We sent Zim here on a fake mission just to get him away from us.”
Gaz smirked. “Nice.”

B R E A K O U T? of happy trails? ... hmm
but if you break out, you’ll always be on the run.
the outside world, recoils in fear
running from the monsters that they’ve locked up in here
i’ve screwed up big, but now i’ve done time
and my morals and living space are simply sublime
you can’t beat living in prison, there’s always something to do
and every therapy session helps find what’s good in you
every day i wake up to a nice hot shower
don’t pay the water bill, so i’m scrubbin for hours
shooting hoops, lifting weights in the yard
making friends and learning there’s value in heart
and there’s nothing more exquisite
than when y/n comes by for my conjugal visit!
but there’s something missing, this place isn’t home
don’t want no hooch wine from a porcelain throne
the barbed wires shiny, and the floors are clean
but epiphanies are rising and i’m starting to see
maybe i wanna be free
don’t want this luxury
im tired of being put away
a song bird in a gilded cage
i got a trash pedigree
but i’ll face the bourgeoisie
i want to see the world beyond
so happy trails i’m done i’m gone
YES! now i wanna be
FREE! for the life of me
PLEASE! i just wanna be
freeeeee
Of these amenities
i know i won’t live so good out there
but at least there’s free fresh air
and maybe i’ll find someplace that’s like home
so i’m just sayin
i might take parole
and maybe then i’ll feel free
#imagine yancy busking this#seriously#yancy#yancy busking#yancy parole#visitation day#ahwm#ahwm yancy#markiplier#a heist with markiplier

So I just read a statement from a fan claiming the ending is made for children and that the ending is joyful? Huh wtf did I miss something. I call bs
Ok I’ve answered to a similar ask in a short way but I keep getting similar messages so I guess I’ll sit down and write more on the subject.
Let’s say there are 3 ways to see this movie:
- occasional viewers’ way. They take their children to the movies once, they like it or not, they all think there are too many songs, and forget about it right after.
- the stans’ way. The ones who excuse whatever smart or stupid decision the writers and disney wanted, and everything is perfect, everything makes sense, everythins is right for the characters just like they wrote it (and if it’s not they’ll force themselves to accept it, one way or another).
- the critics’ way. Find your inner critic, and run with it.
Guess where am I?
And mind you, I’m not considerind my opinion of the same value as a movies’ critic, cause I’m not an expert, but as a fan I certanly know the characters and that’s why I think my opinion is valid too.
That said....
I’m not gonna waste time on the “occasional viewers”, even if THEY are the majority and their opinions on the movie are frequently surprising and interesting...simply because they’re not here, on tumblr, to discuss the movie.
The Stans. I do not want to offend them, this has to be clear, but the blind acceptance of whatever Jenn+Chris wrote doesn’t sit well with me.
I’ve never shipped canon, I don’t care about what the majority think, I do not feel the need to belong to a big group of people who share the same mindset.Once I’ve found those 2-3 people I agree with, my social media life is complete.
What I do not like about stans is the “If you don’t like it then you didn’t understand the movie or you don’t understand the characters” point of view.
Like acceptance of canon put them on a pedestal of omniscience in everything Frozen-related.
So this attitude generally pisses me off, but I usually ignore it and move on with my fandom life.
Now, let’s go back to your question: the end is good for children and joyful. Oh boy.
Let’s see it first from the STANS’ pov:
Elsa is free, runs free on a free sea, free of her burdens, making magic, talking to natives, and without a care in the world. She smiles. It means she’s happy and as a viewer I have to be happy too.Anna is a Queen, she’s smiling. It surely mean this is what she always wanted it, and she doesn’t care if her sister doesn’t live with her cause she can always write her a letter, right? Plus, she’s engaged omg omg omg omg!!!!!! Who cares about anything else????
There is an happy music, everybody smiles, let’s be happy!
To me, this is the superficial and dumb way to see it. Eating up whatever disney cooked for us, and saying thanks at the end.
It works for some children, the ones who “ok....the movie was sad, but they smile so...I guess it’s ok?” and the stans. Most kids are even smarter than that.
My way to see it:
Elsa smiles: of course, why on earth would Disney make a movie where the lead character is depressed at the end? lol They want me to believe this is an happy ending, they wouldn’t write her troubled or sad. I hope they’re not saying I should be happy cause Elsa is happy....Google the word “retcon” and see how it applies to this movie.
Elsa is free: she was free already in the first movie, after “let it go”, now she simply knows where her magic comes from. Good thing, but it doesn’t make her “more free”, it gives her more knowledge. And of course let’s ignore how this “freedom” comes at other people’s expenses.
Elsa is happy: why? Because her parents died for her?In the end she’s running free, on the free sea exactly where her parents DIED? AHAHAHAH THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL I’M SO HAPPY!!! Elsa smiles so let’s be happy!!!! Because she doesn’t have responsabilities anymore? YAY! She can wake up and talk to squirrels and go for her run! Wow! Who needs a job? (what a good message for kids!)Because she she is free to not care about anything else but herself and her magic?
This is the good message for children?
“Accept and show yourself” RIGHT.
But also:
“Forget your responsabilities”“If your parents died for you it’s ok because hey you were a gift so who cares if they died cause you couldn’t control your gift!”“Follow a voice for all the movie ignoring your sister and don’t pay any permanent consequence!” What an happy life! “Leave your family behind, they’ll be there to pick up the pieces while you’ll be freeeeee”AHAHAHAHA who cares right? Elsa is smiling and she’ so happy so I’m so happy!
Just because the movie ignores the consequences, I don’t have to ignore them too. I have a mind, and I use it. I’m not a parrot.
And for ONE good message the kids may get, there are way more that are problematic, and are ignored.Again, I’m not dumb I have a critic mind and I can’t ignore them.
Anna is Queen: Not once, not even once in her life she mentioned the fact that she wanted this. She didn’t have a choice, she became Queen cause she was the SPARE, and this is her destiny. Not her choice. Congrats!! I’M SO HAPPY!!!
Anna is alone: she’s not! she’s a boyfriend she can’t even comunicate with!! That’s all she need!! Plus it’s not like she needs a family! She has a dick now! It’s all she wanted! We saw her playing with dolls and all Anna wanted was a marriage! She would have married the first person who asked and she almost did!! And now she will!! I’M SO HAPPY!!!!If this movie made one thing clear to me, is that Anna would litterally marry the first one who ask her cause getting married it’s her dream. Period. I’M SO HAPPY FOR HER THIS IS PERFECT!!!
Anna can see her sister: Suuuuure, when she’s done playing with squirrels or being a pillar of a METHAPHORIC BRIDGE she may travel back to Arendelle once in a while, and then go back to live in the glacier where she almost died happily alone, talking to spirits and snow creatures! What an HAPPY LIFE! Anna wants this. Sure. Because Anna would DIE for Elsa and if this is what makes Elsa happy, then Anna would accept it.
Nothing and no one will ever convince me that this is what Anna would choose, if ONLY SHE COULD HAVE A CHOICE!
I could go on and on for days, but you get the point, anon??????
If we accept the “happiness” these character show on their faces at the end as a dogma, without questioning WHY they are happy with a critic mind, if we ignore the RETCONS, the plot holes, the negative messages, the cut or changed storylines.....well yes they seem to be happy at the end.
But can you?
I can’t.
Accepting this would mean I’ll have to ignore everything I know and I like about these characters from the first movies and the books, and I love them too much to do that.
There are good things in this movie, like the origins of Elsa’s powers, some Elsa+Anna scenes, but the end is not one of them.
It is joyful, if you ignore dozens of things (I’ve listed ONLY A FEW).
It has ONE good message for kids (if you ignore all the negative ones).
But I’m not a stan, and I will not do it.
