#slither wing emmet

I was doing some EV training down in area zero, and when I turned around I found a slither wing had randomly spawned behind me. Dude didn’t charge at me or anything, just stared at me with curiosity before stomp-stomping closer to me and standing up to stare at me even more. It was literally the Pokémon equivalent of this lmao.

But it got me thinking about the Slithermas, and how they have a habit of just randomly appearing behind you (Emmet is ESPECIALLY guilty of this the little shit) and watch you do hooman things. Ingo will watch with his head cocked to the side, and chirp inquisitively as you engage in what he feels is “curious behavior”, such as “brushing your hair” and “folding laundry”. He’s intrigued by such activities, and wishes to learn more about them so that he may participate with you. Emmet is mildly curious about your activities as well, but that curiosity only holds his attention for so long before he gets bored and will start being annoying to try and make you pay attention to him.

Going to a plant museum to find out what kind of plants grew in their time period, and then taking pictures of said plants and showing them to every plant shop and nursery in Nimbasa, trying to find anything remotely similar.

You obviously can’t find the same plants, but you’re able to find some that are from the same genus and or look/smell similar to the plants from that era.

Armed with your new plants, you make a little garden for your boys and surprise them with it. Much crying and delighted moth noises ensue.

Slither Wing twins probably try to find places that remind them of the era they were taken from.... It never goes well since nearly everything from their era has evolved or gone extinct. They both seem deflated until they find a single flower.

Now you have to keep a bunch of them around to perk up your poor, homesick moth husbands...

I really liked @antidotesprout 's design for @leggerefiore 's slithermas ingo...so my brain thought up an au where AI Turo and AI Sada (they now have the nicknames of Turai and Sadai), instead of peacing out to whatever time, stay and help the future and prehistoric hybrids into acclimating to modern day life. Pecha who's an incomplete Volcarona hybrid is one of the volunteers for helping these guys.

Ingo is very wary of this "fake" slitherwing hybrid but Emmet is very into her.

Alrighty alrighty I've been wanting to make Submas art SO BADLY but I haven't bc I can't look down at my desk for long periods of time without my nose running an unreasonable amount SO. I decided once I'm better I'm gonna pick a piece of old Submas art from 2022/2023 and do a redraw!

But of course I'm indecisive and will be making another poll :D My old art is absolutely horrid and I can't stand looking at it so that's the whole reason I wanted to do a redraw in about a week or so. I will let the Submas fandom pick!

@leggerefiore Hnnnnngh 10,000 years later, I have FINALLY finished the larvae twins. Their bows are colored like that because it makes it so you can actually tell the two apart from each other without having to do the “bite test”. 🙃

Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, are the running thoughts going through Dante’s mind. He’s speed-walking toward the next train, Beau hovering behind him and keeping a hold of his shoulder with a stinger. They bypass many other pokémon and people, slithering through the gaps between. All Dante can think is ‘fuck’.

He’d met a soulmate.

Thankfully he didn’t seem to know he was one; Dante made sure to avoid eye-contact with him and wasn’t about to out himself either. But Dante had met him, and now he knew the face to avoid. It couldn’t be difficult, surely? He’d only met the man twice and he seemed to be a very busy individual. Dante was just another faceless passenger in the crowd.

He stops at the edge of the platform, behind the yellow line. Around him, people and pokémon wait patiently for the train to arrive, their bodies undulating with impatience. He tries to calm his racing heartbeat and his flying thoughts, raking a hand through his hair. Beau nuzzles his neck from behind, pressing his body against his, his wings fluttering soothingly. He sighs and reaches up a hand to caress Beau’s head.

“Thanks bud,” he says. Beau buzzes in response.

Having calmed down, he thinks about his next move. Going back to Mistralton City was annoying, but he’d be back soon like last time. Technically. Last time he was there, Beau had evolved from a cute little Kakuna to a Beedrill. Thankfully Gadget nor Aspen seemed any closer to evolving.

The egg, however…

He hoped beyond all hope that the egg didn’t hatch in Mistralton City, otherwise he’d have to upgrade ‘a coincidence’ to ‘a pattern’ and he wasn’t looking forward to having all his pokémon do miraculous things there…

“Tick!” Gadget chirps from his breast pocket. Dante smiles, looking down at Gadget. He was finally awake.

“I am Emmet. I noticed the Joltik in your pocket. I hope you didn’t steal it.” Dante looks up and meets the eyes of a familiar looking man, this time in a white uniform and a smile on his face. A twin? Fuck. Wait. Did he just say—? You have GOT to be KIDDING ME.

He quickly avoids eye contact, saying, “No, he’s mine, sorry,” in response, his heart ratcheting up again. Why was this happening to him? Both in one day? He could avoid one, but two? How did he even manage? Maybe if he didn’t say anything to them while maintaining eye-contact, ever? It couldn’t be hard. He’d only met this one the once, and his twin twice. It was doable. He hoped.

Beau buzzes menacingly from over his shoulder, his red eyes narrowed at the man in white.

“I see. We have many around Gear Station. My mistake.”

“Is that so?” Dante tersely responds, his body going rigid. He takes a quick step away from the man, still looking away. Please, train, come faster. Save him from this interaction.  

The rattling and screeching of a train coming down the tracks makes him relax slightly; Beau, however, continues to buzz, his stingers clutching onto his body. He bites his lip. It was an interesting feeling of pride and shame swirling within his chest. Pride that Beau was protecting him, like he had protected Beau; shame that Beau was protecting him at all. Especially from someone that wasn’t even showing any menace. He wasn’t intimidating. Peeking out of the corner of his eye, he sees that the man has turned away and seemed to be gesturing to someone on the platform.

The train screeches to a halt in front of them, and Dante quickly hops into the cab, finding a place to sit next to a window. He unbuckles the incubator from his back and places it next to him. Beau hovers for a moment, before deciding to sit in his lap, his face coming up to rest beneath his chin. He curls his arms around him. Gadget makes himself comfy in his pocket and closes his eyes, chirring contently.

“Thanks, Beau. Love you.”

Beau nuzzles against him more firmly, his antennae tickling the side of his cheek. “Bee,” his bug says in response. He smiles softly.
