I’m trying to find tips on how to decorate a basement (no windows, no natural light, exposed black ceiling/pipes) and all of these articles are about hyper finished suburban mansion basements 😭 please your honor I’m a renter! In a city!!! What do you MEAN install shelving units and a 12 ft mirror!
#we moved into our new apartment#and S and I have like#a studio apartment but entirely in the basement#it’s super weirdly shaped and SUPER dark#black/dark floors and ceiling and grey walls#we can’t really paint the walls so we’re decorating them#and lighting this basement is like lighting a cave in Minecraft I STG#so like we’re getting more lights and decor and tapestries#but S is super sensitive to dark and seasonal depression#so I want to make it super bright and comfortable#I’m getting a sunlight lamp but the rest are thrifted bc why buy new ones#Evan rambles A LOT#Evan rambles

#oregon ultimatum#my art#i am drawing isometric views of these two rooms but naturally these doodles came out of that as i was trying to figure them out#yay finally interior views of focus labs so people can FINALLY know what it looks like instead of that just existing in my mind#but there are many rooms okay and they are a lot different#the general rooms are very white and dull but these two rooms are more colorful since they are KINDA themed off the characters's vibes#as seen up here with the first room being red (windows theme color lol)#and the second room being yellow and purple (treetop and cuautles theme colors lol)#basement and 3rd floor are very different#from the rest#and of course there is room 100#you will see that soon#also the first room (windows room the nanotech room) isnt always so red because it is affected by light as it has many WINDOWS#which you will see once i finish the isometric view#but the biomed room (in the 2nd pic) is p much always these colors#becomes more purple when theres more blood. its homonculi blood.#theres no windows (meaning the glass things on the wall not the PERSON) in this room so its very dark usually. also bc treetop hates light

this nuclear medicine dept is the weirdest part of this hospital i've been in so far. Exposed huge pipes. Some kind of mysterious storage in the toilets next to the sink (huge, metal, smells bad). Last renovated in the 70s with maybe new chairs in the early 90s. I had to walk for 10 minutes through a sort of hospital maze to get here. The no phone call signs still show phones with antennae.

I'm not showing you but I think my yoga studio is one of the most beautiful places in the world
#warm wood floors#blue walls with gold#low warm lights in the evening#and biiiiiog windows to show the lake and trees and water grass#and my class is currently right over sunset#i enter to the pink and orange of the sky and darkening of the water#and the lights and candles are just enough to make the floor warmer and the gold on the walls glow#and the dark gets deeper and deeper and the low warm lights get warmer#the blue in the sky and the water and walls turns black and everything is just velvety black and soft gold#and then i come home and go to bed

like sorry to talk about caroline calloway in 2023 but i will never stop thinking about her painting her rental floor white. like i get it i will have an Ambitious idea and simply start doing it with no thought process too and i’m not sure if she was in active addiction at the time but that might have been a factor. and even like if she had Just painted the floor white i wouldn’t care everything is temporary etc and idc about landlords but. the thing that continues to tickle me is how. instead of picking her clothes up off the floor. she simply painted Around them
like. this will never not entertain me. just chuck that stuff on a couch for a couple days!!!!
#i mean. i do think it looks terrible#dont want to understate that like the Bright White on the floor with a beige wall Please be real#i think if you have a wall or floor that is Bright White you cannot have anything else white or close to white (on the yellow side at least)#because next to the Bright White it just looks dirty#you gotta go with bright or dark colours Or if you wanna do a light colour you really gotta consider if it’ll look bad Next to the white

do you ever not dream for extended amounts of time then the one time you do dream it’s really fucking vivid
#bc i barely dream but i just had the most fucking vivid dream of my life dude#so i was in this old woman i don’t knows house and it was modernly decorated she had carpet beige walls etc#she also had white and pink tulle hang drying from her ceiling like halfway down on the whole second floor#i couldn’t get to her top floor either i was literally restricted to the first and second floor#anyways so i go really slowly to her room since i couldn’t move fast and her room is normal it has a bed; typical grandmother stuff#i go to leave and i notice she has this closet where it’s like a reading nook?#it’s insanely dark inside the closet; you could tell it was shallow but no light was getting in at all. in front of the entrance there was#a curtain of green plush bats hung upside down instead of a door; in the style of those baby plushes. in front of them also was a sign that#read “your child is reading upside down!” at taht point i could make out small details and a lot of things like a wood chair were hung upsi#upside down.#she was also communicating with me through tumblr but not directly to me; vaguely about me with her two teenage daughters#it was odd and really vivid and the second dream i’ve had like that except last time there was no pink and white tulle drying everywhere#sodaramblestoomuch#if you read all that thank you i feel sorry for you
