Mizuki and Date though like. Imagine being 8 and your parents are filthy rich and going through a bad divorce. Your mom treats you like shit, lashing out at you, hitting you, saying she wishes you were never born all because you were behaving like a child. Your dad is more comforting, but he doesn’t do anything to stop the abuse and he spends his time invested in a completely different family, a girl who you love and look up to but he loves her more than you and it fucking shows. Then your dads new friend, some fucking bachelor in his late 20s, is just like "wow you guys are the worst fucking parents ive ever seen" and next thing you know your dad is sending you off to live with him. And it’s just a massive kick in the head cuz you go from a rich lifestyle to living in some really shitty tiny ass apartment with this guy who’s clearly never been around a child in his entire life and he doesn’t know how to behave and does a really bad job of censoring himself like he has a bunch of dirty magazines that he can’t hide very well cuz it’s literally a studio apartment and also he talks to himself sometimes, it’s really weird. He doesn’t even have the slightest clue what he’s doing

And he’s the best parent you’ve ever had

Because fuck, it all really hurts. You have to cope with having never received any love from anyone, and with the fact that your parents clearly don’t want you and can’t even be bothered to send you with anyone even kinda responsible. And this guy has a scary job with crazy hours and you don’t know anything about him and neither does he. But still, he never once hits you or tells you you’re not allowed to cry. He just gives you space and doesn’t push you to feel any sort of way about him. And sometimes, he’s even kind. He makes you some stew, even though it’s a bit chunky. He lets you sleep in the bed and takes the couch for himself, even though he complains about the massive back pain he’d never trade his spot for a second. He pays attention to events at your school and gives you your favorite stuffed animal when you make good grades, even though you called it ugly. He gets worried sick when you come home with bruises and puts on a goofy voice and trains you to defend yourself and you develop some highly deadly skills and even though it’s really abnormal, he buys you a bench press so you can get stronger. There’s this distance there, and you feel really weird caring about someone who you aren’t related to, but you find yourself wishing it was meant to be like this all along, that maybe, he’s secretly your real dad and he loves you like his real daughter

And when you say "I’m back" he says "welcome home"

i think the reason i feel so offended by biopics about female writers that are all "this exact romantic situation happened to her, and then she simply wrote it down on some paper!" is that they completely disrespect our ability to simply hallucinate a random situation for fun and then become obsessed with it

#currently thinking about season four and five. absolutely fuckibg mental #the world literally reshapes itself around him to prove him wrong #its all framed as God. Sam was so stupid and selfish and reckless for drinking demon blood. He just liked the power of it and he chose a #DEMON over DEAN.#but. that’s not the story they tell in s4.#like even aside from every single other complexity. Sam is literally right. he has ZERO WAY of knowing that killing lilith is the final seal #AND DEAN DOESNT KNOW TJAT EITHER. like sam is literally right he can kill lilith and he does kill lilith. dean wants lilith dead just as #much. sam’s cardinal sin is disobeying dean and then the world flips around on him and plot twist sam and dean were both wrong all along and #killing lilith is what will bring back lucifer :)#but. it’s not framed like that either. it’s framed like SAM BROUGHT BACK LUCIFER BY KILLING LILITH WHILE HIGH ON DEMON BLOOD #dean you wanted to kill lilith too?????????#but. doesn’t matter dean despite being mostly motivated by jealous anger is retroactively proven to be Right #and sam is retroactively proven to be Wrong. he is bad #i just. jesus. sam’s not evil ever. he’s hardly even that fucking morally grey #and he still thinks there’s something wrong with him that he’s a freak that he’s inherently evil and needs to be purified #why?? cause of something fucked up that happened to him when he was a baby #and because he’s disobeyed his father and his brother and been angry at awful things that have happened to him #makes me feel fucking insane actually #no wonder narrative frames sam as evil no wonder he’s inherently marked as Bad by the forces in supernatural like even on a meta level #in supernatural gods just another shitty father. embodiment of the familial patriarch. and from sam’s very first moment on the show he’s in #opposition to that he’s ran away from john and he argues with dean. therefore he is evil #i don’t think my words r really making sense right now but. fucking hell #and sam is so swamped in guilt all of season five and he just fucking accepts that everything bad is his fault #and he gets tortured in the cage to save the fucking world and it’s STILL not enough. not to appease his own guilt and not to appease deans #anger at him. dean is still throwing his perceived violations back at him in like season nine!!#and whenever he tries to get out it’s treated as yet another Sin. narrative acts like sam thinking dean was dead and having a life outside #of hunting is The Worst Thing He Ever Did #worst sin sam ever commits in the eyes of the show is disobedience. XY's candy is still in XXC's hand.#Hes still standing there. 180 degrees out of frame. Which is where your heart is! MEANING: XXC is in your heart right now #holding out a little piece of candy that has yet to be taken.#This comic was so close to being on the chopping block. Honestly I'm still not sure I should have kept it in #but I liked this scene a lot*** and tbh the yi-city arc isn't around for much longer. Let them have fun while it lasts.#not to mention I have few opportunities to build up spanish speaking XXC. And we are close to the pay off.#XY is in his 'oh god I need to start learning the basics of this language or I will drown' phases. Lets see how well he does!#***The candy represents so much! It's a symbol of unobtainability! Of comfort and status! Both A-qing and XY crave candy as much as they-#-crave those 'unobtainables'! XY has money to by candy (part of status) but he lacks love and comfort is his life!#So XXC offering them this little piece of candy is more than just a treat! It's a piece of love!#But as sweet as candy is....it cannot last....#(this also makes the scene where XY disrupts A-Qing's comfort by offering candy very interesting to analyze)

#my art #art fight #artfight 2024 #team stardust #team seafoam #YAAAAAY FIRST ATTACK runs around in circles #do u guys have any idea how proud i am of this!!! bc i am literally framing this in my brain im so happy with how this came out and im even #happier that pipi likes how they turned out :] i had so much fun working on this #even when i was trying to figure out how everything would look i still really enjoyed the process and found it really therapeutic #last year i had an art class and we drew a lot of skeletons (all human) and i think one cow skull and i also really enjoyed doing those #and working on this reminded me a lot of that class!! AND IM ALSO HAPPY BC I FOUND A BRUSH THAT LOOKS LIKE A COMBINATION #OF ALL OF MY OTHER FAVORITE BRUSHES AND I FEEL LIKE I CAN DRAW WITH IT THE WAY I WOULD A REAL LIFE PENCIL AUUGHHHHH IM WINNING #oh yeah halfway into figuring out how everything was gonna look the basement started flooding. for context i have a desk in the basement #where i draw . bc it's quiet . and it started flooding .
