They both have especially when they've seen the other overwork themselves or be just really tense, but Della's more likely to give one to Penumbra. Penny's more likely to be on edge from her training alone (and the amount of people her uncle-in-law's pissed off over the past century sure as hell doesn't help) so Della does have to remind Penny to just relax every once in a while. (Also that if there was a attack of sorts Beakly could handle it.)

The Lovely Specificity Of Launchpad Being Awkward Around Penumbra

I love everything about this dynamic. I love that Launchpad has exactly ZERO ego going into this situation and nothing but respect for Penumbra. I love that 100% of the internal conflict is him wanting to Conduct Himself In The Kindest Way Possible Given The Potential Awkwardness and that his assumption this was gonna go romantic was entirely due to his experience that This Is What Usually Happens. I also love Penumbra's total obliviousness to this entire situation until Launchpad spells it out (again, respectfully because Launchpad is on that Respect All Beings juice 24-7-365.25).

But I especially love the hesitation between "earth..." and "...male" because the implication is pretty clear that she meant to specify she's not dating earthlings but then she remembered Della Duck exists and had to modify to male so Launchpad wouldn't be confused later.

Okay, I know it's probably more likely for Della to be canonically bi or pan (even though we've never seen the triplets' other parent so I'm keeping my options open), but this duck and her funky alien roomie made my lesbian heart beat a little faster every time they were on screen so it totally counts.

"Della..." The alien groaned as she was interrupted once more. "I am working."

"Mm-hm." Della smiled sweetly at her as she pressed another kiss against the Moonlander's cheek. "And I'm tired."

Penumbra had been working on the reconstruction of the Spear, sitting at a work bench with the open panel in front of her. Della had snuck up behind her, popping up between her arms and between her and the rocket.

"What does that have to do with me?" Penny asked, tilting her head to one side to avoid yet another kiss and to keep her attention on the wires in front of her.

"It's nighttime."

"I am not accustomed to Earth Time yet, this does not affect me." Penny stated.

"You're never going to get used to it if you keep staying up all night..." The pilot pointed out with a kiss to where the Moonlander's nose would be.

"Maybe I do not wish to 'get used to it.' It will make the transition easier when I go back home."

Della didn't answer for a moment, and Penny relished the small moment of uninterrupted work she got. "Yeah," the pilot murmured at last. "Still, I'm tired. Come to bed with me."

"Why do you need me?"

"Because if you're leaving soon then I want to spend as much time with you as I can." Della cupped Penny's face, the Moonlander had no free hands to push her away.

"What is to be gained spending time sleeping together? We will not be able to talk."

"I sleep better with you, I'm not used to you not being there." Della kissed gently between her eyes, Penny was forced to shut them.

With a disgruntled sigh, Penny gave up on her task and pressed a frustrated kiss to the pilot's forehead. There was no use in resisting Della when she was like this. "I need to be back out here by 7 a.m."

Della let out a whine as she wrapped her arms around the Moonlander's neck. "It's so late, that's only in a few hours..."

Penny pulled her hands from the control panel and rested them on the pilot's hips. "8 a.m."

"9?" Della pressed hopefully, Penny could feel her tail wagging slightly.

Another, slightly less frustrated kiss to Della's cheek this time. "8:30. That is all you are getting."

"Yes!" Della pumped a fist, then slumped her entire weight forward against the Moonlander. "You're big and strong and not as tired as I am, so you get to carry me to bed."

"I swear I have to do everything around here." Penny grumbled as she stood, lifting the small duck easily in her arms. She kissed Della again, the frustration gone. "That was a joke," she clarified.

Della giggled, relaxing into the bridal-style carry she found herself in. "I know."
