Aspec men deserve much more respect and recognition in the aspec community than they receive. They often face a different form of aphobia specific to them ("men are naturally sexual they can't be ace" "all men are unromantic that's not unique") this rhetoric is spouted by many, even members of our own community and I hope for a day where that is no longer the case. As an ace and demiro woman (demigirl but that's beside the point) I want to encourage folks to take the time to give the aspec men in their lives support and to the aspec men reading, you are who you say you are no matter what people say and you deserve the world. I'm sorry for the ways in which toxic masculinity has harmed you. You are a valued member of the aspec community and the queer community as a whole. No ace or aro person is broken and neither are you. I'm sorry if anyone has ever told you otherwise.

This might be an unpopular opinion, or not, and it likely will get me hate but idk it's been on my mind.

The concept of "pinkwashing" makes no sense. In fact I'd even say it's built upon a foundation of antisemitism. It borders on conspiracy theory.

You're making an assumption that Israel celebrates LGBTQ+ pride, is queer friendly, promotes queer rights, only and/or primarily as a way to manipulate and distract innocent gullible people.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that Israel and the Israeli government are perfect and can do no wrong, I also criticize them when necessary. But even when we're pointing out things we think they do wrong, can't we also admit that maybe, just maybe, they do some things right as well? Why are you viewing a country celebrating queer rights and being welcoming to queer people as a bad thing? Even in a country you don't like, a country you view as doing many things wrong, there are still queer people who deserve rights and acceptance and celebration, and I don't think that should EVER be viewed as a bad thing.

And to continue my first point. The fact you see everything done by Israel (which, even if you don't want to admit it, we know you view just as a stand in for Jewish people) as some sneaky, evil, manipulative thing, and never as maybe something done with genuine and good intentions tells us a lot about how you view Jewish people. It really does and you can cry and scream you're not antisemitic but you're not the one who gets to decide that. You most likely are and need to deconstruct a lot of that subconscious internal biases that society gave you. So maybe next time you see a Pride event in Israel and feel like screaming "Pinkwashing", stop a little, and think to yourself what you really mean by that

You are so loyal and it can kind of be in insult if someone ever said to you in your face that they thought you wouldn’t value loyalty in life. you are the ride or die friend & in retrospect your so protected in friendships definitely more than you think. Long post ahead so sorry in advance but this is important:

So, the republicans have control of all three branches of the federal government now. First, and most important thing, is to not lose hope. Do not loose hope. Do not succumb to defeatism, they are going to have the power to do the worst of the worst, so we need to hit them back just as hard.

This means taking action, real action, not just complaining on twitter. Get out on the streets, haggle elected officials-republican or democrat, protest, march, break the laws if you need to. Most importantly, find people to build a community with. We keep each other safe, so go out into the world and create these safe spaces, places where we can empower each other to take action.

Second, no, this is not the fault of third party voters. I saw someone say once that liberals never say they failed, they are failed. I’m sorry but the Arab and Muslim Americans that refuse to vote for Kamala Harris because she and Biden killed members of their family are not to blame for Trump winning. I’m sorry but pro-Palestinian supporters that stand in solidarity with them are not to blame here. Democrats are not obligated to our vote. They lost because their policies are flawed, and for many Americans, genocide is the line they won’t cross. Do not act like that is something wrong and immoral, it’s not. Do not blame people for voting third party, blame the democrats for driving those voters away.

Now is the time to ~and excuse my phrasing~ capitalize on this loss. You wanna shout and yell and scream and have someone to be mad at? Aim it at the Democratic politicians that stopped even trying to appeal to their base. Their loss is their fault. Make sure they know it, and make sure they know that if they don’t change their policies it’ll happen again. Now is not the time to get mad at each other and separate, now is the time to unite and stand together, undivided.

Lastly, to any members of the LGBTQ community that may happen to see this, especially trans folk, I can’t imagine what you’re going through right now. But just know, that you are, just by existing, fighting back. The world is a much richer, deeper, beautiful and better place to be because you are in it. We need you, and we need you to be unapologetically yourselves. Please take care of yourselves.

Republicans may be elected, but that doesn’t mean they’re not going to be met with a fight when they try to take away our rights. Stand strong and stand together

is it selfish of me to feel awful and torn over my relationship with my parents? They are good parents and they love me and help me SO much and they’ve done so much for me. They accept every part of me except for my queerness. They will never see me as my true self and they don’t agree with it at ALL everything they believe goes against me. And that hurts me so much because i feel i’ll never have a 100% relationship with them because they won’t ever know me truly. It makes me want to distance myself from them when i’m older but that sounds so cruel to me after all they’ve done for me. It breaks my heart that i was robbed of such a genuine relationship simply because of my queerness and i always worry i’m in the wrong for wanting distance. And at the same time it hurts my heart to distance myself from my parents, because well they’re my parents i want to be loved and cared for the way a mother & father do, but how can i if they won’t accept a core part of me? i dunno, it’s stressful and it hurts very much :(
