Wahhhh.... I just finished Levius.....

I don't really see anyone talk about the ending of Levius/est, but what do you think happened at the end? Did Levius come back alive? Or was AJ just hallucinating?

Ok this is going to be ramble-y for a bit.

The last chapter is super interesting for this! I think within the context of the story there seem to be both ghosts and hallucinations, so I'm approaching this from the view of "AJ is seeing ghosts". Of course hallucinations are common as well with starwater use, but I don't think AJ's current use would warrant this type of hallucination, or we would've probably heard something about it from Chamberlain earlier in the chapter.

So AJ of course sees Levius's grandmother's ghost. And then the Cromwell family cat's ghost too.

The cat really interests me, because in the past, he's always been shown with a prosthetic.

I think if AJ was hallucinating the cat, she would've probably seen him the way she always had in the past. I think here she really is seeing ghosts, which is why the cat takes on a different form. I'm going to base the rest of my thoughts on this, but basically the idea is that a ghost will appear without prosthetics they may have had in life.

When we finally see Levius at the end, it looks to me like he's missing his arm completely. You could definitely still interpret it as just "his arm is covered and he's dead" but personally I do think this panel means that Levius is alive and has finally returned for his family (and his arm). It's a bit of an odd choice for him to not be dead though, because it's hard to imagine that he'd really abandon everybody for that long, especially AJ.

Either way I do love the ending chapter a lot. It's certainly bittersweet, particularly if you believe Levius died, but it really shows how much all the characters love each other :)

Last song:- i’ve been revising alot of old 80’s classics and the Vaporwave genre and ive been going through a Wham phase-“Everything She Wants” has been stuck in my head for DAYS!! I just love the uber cheesy 80’s synths throughout it XD

Currently Watching: rewatching “TURN: Washington’s Spies” and “Poldark” again, along some of the old Agatha Christie’s “Poirot” mini series. I have also been going through and rewatching all the “Jaws” movies (I love classic and cheesy monster films aksjsk)

Currently Reading: “The Maid” by Nina Prose, Levius Est series, A Man and His Cat series, Jaws(the novel lol), Jeeves and the King of Clubs by Ben Schott(pg wodehouse inspired novel) any and all Agatha Christie! I just finished “From Below” from Darcy Coates-a great read if you love horror/suspense stories about the sea and the scary stakes of deep sea diving and cursed ships! If anyone has any good recommends on haunted ship/sea stories pls send them to me👀

Current Obsession: Pikmin, and anything 1920’s-40’s( thats always a given lol)-but lately its also been the old Nancy Drew Pc mystery games, I love them so much-if you’re ever to try one i highly recommend the Curse of Blackmoor Manor! Sure some might find the graphics to be old, but personally i think it adds to the “scare” factor since everyone moves so stifly and awkwardly lol. They’re always good fun. Along with that, anything LoZ Twlight Princess related has consumed my brain-as evidenced by the current AU im making aksjsk

Ok the end of levius has been out long enough I think I can say this now. If Chamberlain had ever gone to therapy maybe he would've realized clown was running a terrorist organization out of the psychiatry building of the hospital he is in charge of. He could've avoided all of this by talking about his feelings a couple times
