there's something so poetic about kipperlilly copperkettle—who hated one of her classmates for daring to be better than her and having a dead dad, who refused to improve herself and instead chose to be bitter and entitled, who was so obsessed with being Special and Important like she felt she deserved that she willingly worked with a rage god, betrayed her party, and killed her friend—getting killed by fucking. Hold Person. her fancy optimal build IMMEDIATELY folding in the face of riz's cleverness and experience and applied knowledge. she spends years fixated solely on racking up EXP and getting the Best Abilities, and then when she dies, she's killed not in glorious combat but by a clever, practical application of a 2nd level spell that she NEVER would have ever thought of using because she has no creativity or adventurers' spirit, cast by the same classmate she always hated with a watch his dead dad gave him.

The Soos embody that "childhood friends who have witnessed every embarrassing moment in each other's life and are so used to each other's bullshit they don't question any of the actions the other does anymore" energy
And I have receipts for this:
Cale: *stops the Plaza Terror Invident and coughs up blood for the first time*
Choi Jung Soo and Sui Khan: *pops party poppers* congrats to our dongsaeng he did it! Now let's cut the cake
God of Death to Choi Jung Gun: they prepared the "Congrats Cale on Fucking Up Your Slacker Life Again" banner 3 weeks ago. Cale hadn't even planned on going to the plazza yet
_______
God of Death: Lee Soo Hyuk reincarnated and Choi Jung Soo became a wanderer
Cale: of course they did I should have foreseen this
_______
Sui appears as a hawk beastman: sup
Cale: ........ damn it I thought you were gonna be a baby
Sui: missed you too <3
_______
Choi Jung Soo: *crashes from the ceiling right in front of his friends who have been looking for his fugitive ass for weeks*
Cale: oh we found him
Sui: *mild annoyance but not surprised*
Choi Jung Soo: hi guys

My bad - One more thing to cover.
8x05 ratings - demo 0.31, viewership 3.977
Yes, that is super low for 911 standards. So was last week.
As I previously said, a highly anticipated Young Sheldon spinoff started airing same night, same time two weeks ago. That show blew up largely because of that relationship that this spinoff is based around. The Young Sheldon series finale had 9 million live viewers (unheard of these days).
It's the nature of the industry. A lot of people have probably switched to watching that show live and recording 911 or watching it on Hulu.
There's also sports programs airing over top of regularly scheduled programing in some areas so that doesn't help.
ABC cares about streaming numbers enough that I doubt it'll massively impact 9-1-1 in their eyes. They'd move 9-1-1 to a new night (or time) before they'd cancel it.

Yoohankim all have such different reactions to their other selves.
YJK to YJK: You're annoying. You're a fool. You're not me. (YJK's need to compartmentalize his identity)
HSY to HSY: Ah shit, I did that? (1863rd and 3rd round HSY both accept the other as 'herself')
KDJ to KDJ: You're not real to me. You're just a fleeting dream.

nene's ultimate girl guide❤️
hello, loves! there are eighteen sections planned for this series- each with multiple posts. it is what i wish someone made me,, and so i'm giving it to myself (and to you).
the first few sections are like a base, the standard. because how can you evolve to be the best version of yourself, if you can't take care of yourself on a basic level.
everything in this guide is researched and carefully chosen. trigger warnings will be included at the top of relevant posts.
by no means am i going to churn out these posts, they come from the heart. i'm well aware that this guide will take close to a year to finish, but i'm here for that journey.
section one - hygiene habits
oral hygiene
hand hygiene
bathing

I know the consensus rn is that Timeline 1 Sunjae was murdered and didn’t commit suicide. It makes much more sense that he was murdered by Taxi Guy, he wouldn’t have done that after he’d seen Sol happy and alive and a fan of his. I know I know.
But can you imagine if he had. Can you imagine that first Sunjae, who had spent 15 years in depression and agony because he didn’t wake the girl he loved up on time and because of that she lost her legs and her will to live. The Sunjae tho had to hear the love of his life tell him over a radio show that she didn’t want to be alive anymore. The Sunjae that eventually couldn’t take it anymore and gave it all up. Can you imagine if that Sunjae could know that Sol loved him so powerfully and wanted to save him so badly that she purposely put herself through help time and time and time again so he could have a chance to still be alive. That the Sol he loved risked losing her legs all over again just for his happiness.
Imagine the Sunjae who lived without happiness or love, the Sunjae who no longer valued or wanted his own life, finding out someone loved him enough to move the fabric of space and time. To try again and again to save him even when fate itself was against it. Finding out that she loved him. That she loved him that much.

After seeing yet another popular tumblr post with thousands of reblogs bemoaning the state of comments on fanfics these days - more specifically, the supposed lack of commenting these days, as opposed to The Good Old Days - I have decided that this is in fact a hill I am willing to die on. I'm making a separate post about it rather than reblogging the latest iteration, though. This is hardly the first time I've seen these types of discussions, and my issue is with the mindset in general, not any of the specific people who hold it.
In the most recent version, the entire post with all its various arguments and assertions was plenty frustrating across the board, but it included one line in particular that cut beautifully to the heart of my issue with this type of discussion. The line in question:
"fanfic authors now are treated like content mills, and not like valued members of a creative community who thrive on interaction."
Once I read this bit, I had to stop, take a few deep breaths, and then go make my own post before I imploded over the sheer level of NOPE this line inspired. And okay. The thing is... I want to say this as gently and kindly as I possibly can, but I need to be real blunt for a minute, too.
That line I quoted sounds like a wannabe social media influencer.
It sounds like a person who thinks fandom is - or should be - comprised of fanfiction writers, aka Valued Content Creators, and their respective communities of readers, aka Content Consumers, a strictly distinct group from fic writers, for whom they create fanfiction content and who in turn pay them back with attention and validation in the form of comments and praise.
It does not sound like a fanfiction author who enjoys the creative hobby of writing stories based on characters and worlds from existing stories, engaging in their hobby within a community of other likeminded creators of fan content.
Frankly, fandom has always been worst when it starts obsessing over Big Name Fans who wind up treated like elite fandom social influencers, instead of hobbyists engaging in a fun hobby together based on mutual interests. A shift towards the idea that every fanfic writer should be effectively a social media influencer whose community consists of fans reading the content they oh-so-lovingly create (but only if they get enough positive attention from passive consumers, presumably readers who don't write their own fic or expect comments back from the author in return) sounds like an absolutely awful direction for fandom to take.
I don't want fanfiction and fandom spaces to turn into another social media space full of Our Valued Content Creators, all fighting to build the largest "community" of passive consumers turned devoted followers.
Again, that sounds frankly fucking awful.
The people who only read fanfiction are not your fanfiction community, because they are not engaging in the shared community hobby of writing fanfiction. Your fanfiction community is, perhaps, the other people who are also writing their own fanfiction based on someone else's original work.
So perhaps if comments really are declining on fics these days, instead of asking why passive readers aren't heaping praise on every fic they read and making sure it all happens where the Valued Creator can hear it, you should ask yourself how many other fanfics you've commented on recently, and then go comment on another one if you're still feeling down about your own work.
Or, I dunno, find a fic author you admire and send them a message on tumblr, if you've already commented on all of their fics that you read and enjoyed.
Or start your own discord for likeminded fans, or find a way to set up your own fandom forums centered on your personal fandom interests and invite other fic authors to come join.
Or, like, anything that involves reaching out to the actual community of hobbyists you can reasonably consider to be a community you are actually a part of.
Aka, other fanfiction writers.

blow 🎂
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
🟠 a landoscar oneshot 📄 1.9k words rated e or, hey, remember the birthday blow job fic i joked about 🔗read on ao3
preview (nsfw):
The floor is hard against Lando’s shins. But he’s very good at enduring in the name of a great thing. And watching Oscar teeter on the edge of self control, breath growing heavier as the only giveaway of the effect Lando has on him — that definitely falls in the Venn diagram of pleasure and tolerable pain. Oscar shifts his right hand, firmer on the back of Lando’s skull. His nails have gotten on the longer side again, and they scratch Lando’s scalp in a pleasant way. Lando doesn’t need to look up to know that Oscar’s red-faced, hair mussed. He’s always like that when they do this, eyes focused on him like Lando’s a particularly tricky chicane that Oscar’s still trying to figure out. “You had to do that in front of the camera, didn’t you? Oscar says. Lando, mouth full of aforementioned teammate’s dick, shrugs. “Cheek.” Oscar adds. He pushes Lando down harder. Lando doesn’t expect that, so he chokes a little, and makes a gagging noise.

Tom's line about Shiv being selfish and "find[ing] it very hard to think about me" is actually so telling because while it's absolutely true that she rarely takes his position into consideration, Tom never once thinks about what he can do to help Shiv unless it also benefits him.
Every single time he makes a move or sacrifice that might help her, it's always something that he thinks will give him a leg up. He volunteers to take the fall for cruises, not for Shiv, who is in no way implicated, or even for Waystar, but because he thinks it'll ingratiate him to Logan, and the second it seems like he might have to actually follow through on that, he immediately tries to get out of it and even throws Shiv under the bus. Meanwhile, for all that Shiv disregards his interests, there are a number of things she does that only help him, and she's the one who actually sacrifices something and undermines her position with Logan to beg him not to let Tom go to jail.
It just makes it so clear that no matter how much he might love her (and I think he does, in his own compromised way), for him their relationship was always built on the underlying assumption that it's her job to prop him up, but it's not his job to help her.

hot take i guess but when i watch the scene with billy and agatha where she finds out for sure he’s billy maximoff and starts tearing up, i perceive it as being bc she’s still a bit (read: significantly) heartbroken that he isn’t nicky. he isn’t hers. sure, she might’ve known from the beginning to some degree that he was wanda’s, but she doesn’t know for sure. we see that every time she panics because he’s hurt. we see that in the way she refused to leave his side when he was asleep. we see that when rio herself has to shake agatha out of it, saying, “agatha… that boy isn’t yours.” like YES logically i think she knew he wasn’t nicky, that he couldn’t be but we CAN see how painfully, hopelessly desperate agatha is to think that maybe he could be. so in my mind, she sees billy maximoff standing in front of her, finally being met with indisputable proof that he could not possibly be her lost son. how could she not tear up at that?

i think Silo is easier for me to watch than most post-apocalyptic stuff because consistently, throughout the series, the people in the Silo are people. they have hobbies, and interests, and natural human curiosity. it's not all gritty and dark for everyone all the time, there's moments of lightness and humour and happiness for the characters. which is something a lot of shows leave out (which is fair, if the tone set is meant to be so dark), so it's nice to see
