there's something so poetic about kipperlilly copperkettle—who hated one of her classmates for daring to be better than her and having a dead dad, who refused to improve herself and instead chose to be bitter and entitled, who was so obsessed with being Special and Important like she felt she deserved that she willingly worked with a rage god, betrayed her party, and killed her friend—getting killed by fucking. Hold Person. her fancy optimal build IMMEDIATELY folding in the face of riz's cleverness and experience and applied knowledge. she spends years fixated solely on racking up EXP and getting the Best Abilities, and then when she dies, she's killed not in glorious combat but by a clever, practical application of a 2nd level spell that she NEVER would have ever thought of using because she has no creativity or adventurers' spirit, cast by the same classmate she always hated with a watch his dead dad gave him.

The Soos embody that "childhood friends who have witnessed every embarrassing moment in each other's life and are so used to each other's bullshit they don't question any of the actions the other does anymore" energy
And I have receipts for this:
Cale: *stops the Plaza Terror Invident and coughs up blood for the first time*
Choi Jung Soo and Sui Khan: *pops party poppers* congrats to our dongsaeng he did it! Now let's cut the cake
God of Death to Choi Jung Gun: they prepared the "Congrats Cale on Fucking Up Your Slacker Life Again" banner 3 weeks ago. Cale hadn't even planned on going to the plazza yet
_______
God of Death: Lee Soo Hyuk reincarnated and Choi Jung Soo became a wanderer
Cale: of course they did I should have foreseen this
_______
Sui appears as a hawk beastman: sup
Cale: ........ damn it I thought you were gonna be a baby
Sui: missed you too <3
_______
Choi Jung Soo: *crashes from the ceiling right in front of his friends who have been looking for his fugitive ass for weeks*
Cale: oh we found him
Sui: *mild annoyance but not surprised*
Choi Jung Soo: hi guys

I don’t think it’s actually understood properly just how insane Rhysand’s mother was to say that in order for his mate/wife or GF to earn his love she must go into a DEATH GODS home & remove my wedding ring from there successfully.
Then & only then will you know if she is worthy of your love…but the catch?…she must never know what she’s actually going up against…she must never know beforehand that the weaver/stryga is a LITERAL DEATH GOD, who is a god damn cannibal, who can & will kill you immediately upon entering her home…
And Feyre the dumbass blindly trusted him, didn’t question him or his mother, didn’t understand that she had ALREADY gone above & beyond for Rhysand & to show him how much she loves him at this point & then when she does make it out he’s laughing in a god damn tree!!
I don’t like Feyre but every now & then I think about how many fucked up, life & death situations she’s actually been put in thanks to Rhysand & it makes me so angry for her & angry that she is truly so blinded by this bond & her love for this male that she doesn’t see the insanity behind it all.

My bad - One more thing to cover.
8x05 ratings - demo 0.31, viewership 3.977
Yes, that is super low for 911 standards. So was last week.
As I previously said, a highly anticipated Young Sheldon spinoff started airing same night, same time two weeks ago. That show blew up largely because of that relationship that this spinoff is based around. The Young Sheldon series finale had 9 million live viewers (unheard of these days).
It's the nature of the industry. A lot of people have probably switched to watching that show live and recording 911 or watching it on Hulu.
There's also sports programs airing over top of regularly scheduled programing in some areas so that doesn't help.
ABC cares about streaming numbers enough that I doubt it'll massively impact 9-1-1 in their eyes. They'd move 9-1-1 to a new night (or time) before they'd cancel it.

So, I was re-reading Solo Leveling (again), and I thought
What if you throw Sung Jinwoo, Nico di Angelo, and Danny Phantom in one room?

The way this still is giving me S1 Devon on the rollercoaster vibes - and if that is what we are getting then I am very intrigued and excited - because Buck struggled to deal with that loss - his first on the job - which parallels a bit with losing Eddie now and Buck struggling with that. But what I’m most excited by about if this is a parallel to that - is that Buck went to therapy - and ended up having sex with her (she took advantage of him but that’s not the thing here) - ill advised sex - sex that did not actually help him at all in dealing with his feelings.
But you know what did - talking to Abby on the phone - and you know who he can only talk to by phone (or video call) right now?!!

i think my favorite thing abt pentiment is that no matter who you point your finger at during act 1 it'll leave you feeling hollow even if you're convinced of their culpabilibity bc ultimately they were all victims of the baron who is the system and class privilege personified

My personal headcanon is that Pony got his love for reading from Darry. When Darry was in high school he’d read the books he got in class out loud to Ponyboy and straight up just handed him some of the easier ones so they could talk about it later. In my brain the reason Ponyboy clings onto it so much is because it’s one of the things he and Darry REALLY bonded over when he was a kid and it just brings back good memories of when they got along better.

This is not a genuine interview where he shares his genuine thoughts. His job is controlled by a network that profits at least 50% from Republicans, and who are receiving a sitting president at their biggest game. If you think they haven't controlled talk over DT because of how it affects the sport then you aren't living in reality. He can't just say what he wants, he's not a random person ln tumblr. There's a reason even Taylor mainly ignored him in her endorsement of Harris, it's just bot worth it and it doesn't pluck him out of the white house.
If you think there wasn’t a better way for Travis to answer that question that wouldn’t have involved saying it was both “awesome” and an “honor” as well as spouting that America is the best country in the world, I’m sorry but you are the one not living in reality. As just one example of a better response, this is how Jalen Hurts, QB of the Eagles, answered a very similar question:

But maybe it’s only in the Chiefs contract that they’ve got to praise the presidency! 🤪 lmao.

🟠 a landoscar oneshot 📄 1.9k words rated e or, hey, remember the birthday blow job fic i joked about 🔗read on ao3
preview (nsfw):
The floor is hard against Lando’s shins. But he’s very good at enduring in the name of a great thing. And watching Oscar teeter on the edge of self control, breath growing heavier as the only giveaway of the effect Lando has on him — that definitely falls in the Venn diagram of pleasure and tolerable pain. Oscar shifts his right hand, firmer on the back of Lando’s skull. His nails have gotten on the longer side again, and they scratch Lando’s scalp in a pleasant way. Lando doesn’t need to look up to know that Oscar’s red-faced, hair mussed. He’s always like that when they do this, eyes focused on him like Lando’s a particularly tricky chicane that Oscar’s still trying to figure out. “You had to do that in front of the camera, didn’t you? Oscar says. Lando, mouth full of aforementioned teammate’s dick, shrugs. “Cheek.” Oscar adds. He pushes Lando down harder. Lando doesn’t expect that, so he chokes a little, and makes a gagging noise.

i genuinely think ch. 144 is one of the most fascinating chapters in all of kuroshitsuji in terms of the Emotional Depth it gets into. like, just look at the Levels lizzie manages to break the motivations behind her feelings down to over the course of this one conversation:
on the surface: horror and shock, that one of the people she cares The Most about has been successfully lying to her and everybody around them for Years about his identity; it's that fear of the Stranger, the not!Them, a stomach twisting realization that something so fundamental and core to your understanding of reality itself has been suddenly uprooted, flipped upside down and perverted right beneath your nose.
one level down: embarrassment, that despite all of her claims to love and care for him so Dearly, she still couldn't tell that her betrothed from his own twin brother; a recognition of her own childish naïveté and the stupidity associated with it, shameful in retrospect and reflection.
below that: fear, that actually she was able to tell the difference, that she could always somewhat tell that something wasn't quite right or in line with her expectations, but that on some level she still chose not to pay attention to it; this isn't baseline stupidity, not actually, but rather willful ignorance-- and somehow that just feels worse. she could've lived her entire life with him without knowing; but she did know. and she chose to stick with the lie anyways.
embedded within: a question. why would he bother to do this at all, when all logic points to it being entirely unnecessary? when he would've been accepted as the heir regardless, taken the money and title and status, been accepted as the only survivor left? why lie when such a revelation could cost him so much?
and at the deepest level: an answer. he lied because he Knew. he lied because he was aware of her own faults before she was, aware of the fact that she would be happier with the Other than she would've been with him, that he would be accepted and loved and respected as the True Heir much easier than as the Spare. he lied because of her, because he judged her and the others to love his brother more easily than him, and in the end he was right.
Tumblr media
lizzie worries out loud about the alternative case, the alternate timeline, where o!ciel comes back as himself and she resents him for it to his face.
what she does not comment about (aloud) is the current facts-- that she has already done this. that she Has been doing this, the entire time, for years. at no point throughout any of this has lizzie ever actually had to state out loud that she preferred r!ciel live over o!ciel. he already knew when he chose to take on that name-- and every one of her actions since then has only strengthened and reinforced that original conviction.

Tom's line about Shiv being selfish and "find[ing] it very hard to think about me" is actually so telling because while it's absolutely true that she rarely takes his position into consideration, Tom never once thinks about what he can do to help Shiv unless it also benefits him.
Every single time he makes a move or sacrifice that might help her, it's always something that he thinks will give him a leg up. He volunteers to take the fall for cruises, not for Shiv, who is in no way implicated, or even for Waystar, but because he thinks it'll ingratiate him to Logan, and the second it seems like he might have to actually follow through on that, he immediately tries to get out of it and even throws Shiv under the bus. Meanwhile, for all that Shiv disregards his interests, there are a number of things she does that only help him, and she's the one who actually sacrifices something and undermines her position with Logan to beg him not to let Tom go to jail.
It just makes it so clear that no matter how much he might love her (and I think he does, in his own compromised way), for him their relationship was always built on the underlying assumption that it's her job to prop him up, but it's not his job to help her.
