there's something so poetic about kipperlilly copperkettle—who hated one of her classmates for daring to be better than her and having a dead dad, who refused to improve herself and instead chose to be bitter and entitled, who was so obsessed with being Special and Important like she felt she deserved that she willingly worked with a rage god, betrayed her party, and killed her friend—getting killed by fucking. Hold Person. her fancy optimal build IMMEDIATELY folding in the face of riz's cleverness and experience and applied knowledge. she spends years fixated solely on racking up EXP and getting the Best Abilities, and then when she dies, she's killed not in glorious combat but by a clever, practical application of a 2nd level spell that she NEVER would have ever thought of using because she has no creativity or adventurers' spirit, cast by the same classmate she always hated with a watch his dead dad gave him.

I think about Harrow and Crux a lot actually and I need to talk about it a little bit or I might scream. because like- Crux sucks right?? we all agree on this, he is an awful, wretched old man who was abjectly abusive to one of two little girls left in his care after the deaths of their primary care takers.
but then his relationship with Harrow in specific makes me insane bc he loved that girl SO MUCH. that was his daughter!!!! maybe even more so than she was Priamhark and Pelleamena’s she was his!!!
and HE KNEW just like they did exactly what had to be done to create her, he watched her grow up reviled by her parents and he looked at that little girl and just… loved her? no questions asked, no morality hang ups, she was worth every sin committed to get her.
because that’s the thing about Crux i think for me, the moment he conceived of Harrow’s existence she was what he was loyal to, not the ninth or the reverend parents or even god just his kid; the rest of the ninth loved Harrow because she was The Reverend Daughter, Crux loved Harrow because she was Harrow. and because she was Harrow she was literally more important than anyone else.
and what does that do to a person? because I can guarantee right now that it was not good for either of them, like at all. Harrow was traumatised, fundamentally hubristic and a literal actual child, with a very confused moral compass, who by age ten had become fully complicit in the abuse of the only other child she had ever met!!! she did not need yet another grown adult enabling her to become worse!!
not to mention that he did abuse his position as the final arbiter of her reality to lie to her on more than one occasion, including but not limited to that one time he deadass killed two whole people for going even slightly against his special little lady (not to mention the several times he seemingly tried to kill Gideon without Harrow noticing)
an idea I see thrown around a lot when discussing the potential kiriona-John dynamic that I think works really well and is also interesting when applied to Harrow and Crux, albeit in a slightly different way is : what if your dad was the worst man in the universe and also literally the only person who really wanted you? how do you contend with that?
ALSO the fact that in Nona we find out that half his grudge with Gideon is that she didn’t die for Harrow!! her parents fear it but Crux is BITTER about it!! he’s so angry that she, in his eyes, has been failing to do right by Harrow her entire life because she could never die right!!
anyway, all this to say I can’t wait to see Harrow try to navigate her grief over Crux’s death in AtN while contending with the fact that he was fundamentally complicit in her continued abuse of Gideon for years and years, which ultimately led to gideons degradation of self and set the groundwork for her sacrificial suicide.
not to mention yet another person she desperately loved dying in a way that is unquestionably in service of her continued existence, unasked for and without giving her a snowflakes chance in hell of saying goodbye. again.

joker is a jack of all trades master of none type of guy, he can pick up a job anywhere! he moonlights as a bartender the most because that's where you find the best gossip (... or the best trouble according to akechi).

The Soos embody that "childhood friends who have witnessed every embarrassing moment in each other's life and are so used to each other's bullshit they don't question any of the actions the other does anymore" energy
And I have receipts for this:
Cale: *stops the Plaza Terror Invident and coughs up blood for the first time*
Choi Jung Soo and Sui Khan: *pops party poppers* congrats to our dongsaeng he did it! Now let's cut the cake
God of Death to Choi Jung Gun: they prepared the "Congrats Cale on Fucking Up Your Slacker Life Again" banner 3 weeks ago. Cale hadn't even planned on going to the plazza yet
_______
God of Death: Lee Soo Hyuk reincarnated and Choi Jung Soo became a wanderer
Cale: of course they did I should have foreseen this
_______
Sui appears as a hawk beastman: sup
Cale: ........ damn it I thought you were gonna be a baby
Sui: missed you too <3
_______
Choi Jung Soo: *crashes from the ceiling right in front of his friends who have been looking for his fugitive ass for weeks*
Cale: oh we found him
Sui: *mild annoyance but not surprised*
Choi Jung Soo: hi guys

I don’t think it’s actually understood properly just how insane Rhysand’s mother was to say that in order for his mate/wife or GF to earn his love she must go into a DEATH GODS home & remove my wedding ring from there successfully.
Then & only then will you know if she is worthy of your love…but the catch?…she must never know what she’s actually going up against…she must never know beforehand that the weaver/stryga is a LITERAL DEATH GOD, who is a god damn cannibal, who can & will kill you immediately upon entering her home…
And Feyre the dumbass blindly trusted him, didn’t question him or his mother, didn’t understand that she had ALREADY gone above & beyond for Rhysand & to show him how much she loves him at this point & then when she does make it out he’s laughing in a god damn tree!!
I don’t like Feyre but every now & then I think about how many fucked up, life & death situations she’s actually been put in thanks to Rhysand & it makes me so angry for her & angry that she is truly so blinded by this bond & her love for this male that she doesn’t see the insanity behind it all.

Thinking. i know that a lot of people bring up the small age difference between kiryu & daigo as being a reason that their father/son dynamic wouldn’t make sense, but for me, found family doesn’t have to make sense? found family is such a major theme in the series, and i think getting too hung up on the fact that kiryu isn’t old enough to be daigo’s biological father is kind of missing the point
consider that daigo is always being treated as younger than he is by the narrative. hell, in k2 he’s 30 years old, but he’s portrayed as the equivalent of a rebellious teenager. and in y3-y5, his youth and inexperience is constantly getting brought up. he’s still getting called a kid well into his 30s. to me, kiryu & daigo are not peers the way that kiryu, majima, & saejima are peers. there is a considerable gap between them, and the two of them have more of a mentor/student relationship during daigo’s reign as chairman. and when you extend that into a familial relationship, i think parent/child is a logical next step. you can argue that they’re more like an older brother/younger brother, but i feel like there’s a narrative parallel drawn between kiryu getting the chairmanship pushed on him by his father figure kazama, and then kiryu pushing it onto daigo. bit of generational trauma if you will!
and it’s not as if kiryu & daigo met in their 30s, they met when daigo was a child (~10) and kiryu was a teenager (~18). the difference in age and maturity is going to feel soooo much more pronounced there! with kiryu filling sohei’s absence in daigo’s life, of course a lonely kid is going to start viewing this older male figure as his father. i think it was Very subconscious though, and it took until kiryu’s letter putting it into words for him to finally realize what their relationship is

Some people wish Ariel did more during climax of The Little Mermaid, but honestly, I'm glad it was kept as it is. Not only did the climax transpire like that precisely because Ariel was the one who killed Flotsam and Jetsam after Ursula was about to blast Eric off existence, and my girl was definitively not about to let that happen in the absolute slightest, but it shows the lengths Eric was willing to go to save and keep Ariel safe, demonstrating his deep love for her. Also, Ursula was forcing this man to marry her, taking away his whole automony away from him, using him as a means to an end, so hell yes he deserved to impale her ass. He's still one of the extremely few Disney characters to deliberately kill the villain, and he did it without the help of magic, so that alone makes him the GOAT.

started a seamless co-op run of elden ring with @juuni-byou and the thing is that having friendly fire enabled completely changes the way that you have to approach every single combat encounter in the best possible way. she's a STR greataxe build and i'm a squishy DEX build with dual (parry) daggers and support incantations, so there's a lot of setting each other up and alley-oops for big damage. in general, the threat of clobbering each other forces us to keep distance, space each other, and just move and attack very intentionally and strategically. it becomes instinct, eventually, to weave in and out of each other's attacks without needing to call it out. but also, just as importantly, failing to do any of that and accidentally flattening or backstabbing or blowing up the other person is always and i do mean literally always hilarious, the single most crucial quality in a multiplayer game
