You have to come! I promise, it'll be worth it!" Mina says to you on the phone, her eyebrows furrowed and lips curled into a pout. You look to the top right corner of your phone and sigh.

11:00

"I don't wanna. He doesn't like me. I barely saw him this week and he hasn't even breathed in my direction," you mutter, watching her tear her closet apart in an attempt to find something cute to wear.

Tomorrow was one of the biggest days of the school year—the annual sporting festival.

Originally, you had everything planned out. You would be in the marching band, run the female relay race, and maybe participate in one of the distance races.

However, life seemed to have other plans because you were replaced in the band without explanation, and you pulled a leg muscle while playing football, leaving you useless for the rest of the week.

"He was busy! You of all people should know that, y/n. He's been training to beat everyone on the field. I hope you remember that your man is a perfectionist and won't stop short of being the best, especially since no one is allowed to use their quirks," she rambles, giving you a pointed look. "Now, blue or pink?" she holds up two cute tops to her upper body, giving you a little pose.

"Blue," you decide, knowing that the sky-colored tube top will complement her body and give her a soft appearance. "I know, but men have priorities. Maybe I'm not a priority to him," you continue, shoulders sagging slightly.

"Really?" she deadpans, dropping the pair of jeans she selected. "Maybe you haven't given him a reason to make you his priority," she shoots back, her eyebrows wiggling suggestively.

Her words hit a chord within you. Maybe she was right.

"Come on, I'll be there first thing tomorrow morning. I'll help you pick a cute fit. You don't have to do anything tomorrow but sit there and cheer him on. It'll be fun!" she begs, picking up the phone and looking into it, giving you puppy eyes.

"Fine. First thing tomorrow morning." You agree, and she jumps around excitedly. "Oh, I am so going to push you into him tomorrow!"

"Mina!"

As you step onto the field, your eyes immediately dart across the large expanse. Tents are scattered everywhere, each housing different groups—athletes warming up, the marching band tuning their instruments, shifters practicing their quirks for the show, and first-aid stations preparing for the inevitable bumps of the day.

"Find him yet?" Jirou nudges your hand. You continue searching, going on your tiptoes. Why does the field have to be so large? You groan, hanging your head. Mina links her hand with yours and Jirou does the same, leading you to an area where you'd be able to see all the action taking place.

They spread a blanket and plop down, gesturing for you to do the same. You kick off your shoes and lay on Jirou's lap as she plays with the ends of your hair.

Mina's eyes are scanning the field as she taps her foot, occasionally gasping when she thinks she sees him.

"You'll spot him soon enough," Mina teases, glancing over with a grin. "Just be patient."

"Easy for you to say," you mumble, covering your face with your hands. "I feel like I’m going crazy over here."

Jirou chuckles softly, carefully applying some mascara. "Relax, he’ll be out there doing his thing soon. And trust me, you’ll know when he’s on the field."

You peek out between your fingers, sighing. "You two are ridiculous."

"You love us," Mina sing-songs, stretching out on the blanket next to you. "But seriously, when you see him out there, just let it all go. Cheer him on, and don’t overthink it. Scream for him."

"Ayo?" Jirou teases, and the two burst into laughter.

The speakers crackle to life as Aizawa starts listing off the events. The excitement builds around you, with students chatting and cheering, the athletes gearing up for their races, and the band beginning to play a lively tune in the background.

And then, you spot ashen blond hair.

It's him.

It's him, and he's looking right back at you. It's him, and his face is filled with surprise. It’s him, and his eyes soften when they meet yours. It’s him, and… oh my gosh, did he just smile at you?

Bakugo thinks you look gorgeous. Scratch that, he doesn't know how to describe you. No word in the dictionary compares to you in this moment.

He feels his heart tighten. Is this how you feel when you look at him? He feels all mushy, and it's scaring him. Why are you making him feel this way? So... vulnerable.

He looks away and tries to focus on the assignment at hand. His coach pats his shoulder and hands him the baton. Right, he needs to find his team and go over their plan. He doesn't have time right now. He's supposed to be busy.

"Did he just look away from you?" Jirou asks calmly, even though she wants to go over there and rip his head off.

Your eyes drop to the ground and your mouth is dry. Yeah, he did. You just shake your head. "I dunno."

Mina rubs your hand. "I'm sure he didn't mean to, bun. He's probably busy."

You scoff, turning away. “It’s whatever. If he doesn’t want me, I can always go and cheer for Midoriya.” Picking up your bag and slipping your shoes back on, you make your way to the athlete’s tent. Unbeknownst to you, Mina and Jirou secretly fist-bumped behind you. Their plan was in motion.

“Hey, Midoriya!” you chirp, walking closer to the greenette. He turns around, a slight smile on his face as he fixes his knee band, standing up from his crouching position and doing a pistol squat. He mumbles something to himself before running a hand through his hair. “Funny seeing you here, thought you said you weren’t coming.” He chuckles, placing a hand on the small of your back and leading you to the middle of the tent, where all the others were.

“I know, it was a last-minute decision.” You play with your hair as he pulls out a chair and motions for you to have a seat.

“Oh… well in that case, you think you could help me out a bit?” he pulls out a bottle of sunscreen and a black headband, sitting cross-legged in front of you and taking off his shirt.

The request was a bit unusual, but you knew Midoriya. The kid was too pure for his own good, so you knew that this was innocent.

“Yeah, sure,” you say, squeezing some sunscreen into your hand. As you start rubbing it onto his back, he hums contentedly, completely unaware of the pair of carmine eyes focused on the two of you. Honestly, screw Bakugo. Why not focus on someone who actually pays attention to you?

“So, are you ready for your race?” you ask, trying to distract yourself from your thoughts. Midoriya’s muscles tense slightly under your touch, and he nods, his eyes closed. “I’ve been training with Todoroki a lot. Maybe I can give Kacchan a run for his money.”

You blink in surprise. “Aren’t the boys from 1A going up against 1B?”

He smiles, passing you the headband you gave him. “No, they made some changes this year. We’re going to be making our own teams.”

“Oh,” you blink. Well, who were you supposed to cheer for now? Bakugo or Midoriya? You make a secure knot at the back of his head, fingers carding through his hair in a lousy attempt to tame his mop of curls.

Without warning, the voice of Present Mic booms across the area, nearly bursting your eardrums. “All teams for the boys relay race, please proceed to the track!”

Midoriya stands up, adjusting the headband with a bright smile. “Looks like that’s my cue,” he says, bouncing on his feet in preparation for the relay. He glances at you with a hopeful look. “You’ll cheer for me, right?”

You offer him a soft smile, but your mind is spinning. Should you cheer for Bakugo or Midoriya? Both are your friends, but one of them… well, he makes your heart race in ways you can't explain. Before you can respond, Midoriya pats your shoulder lightly and jogs off toward the track, leaving you with that lingering question.

As the teams start assembling, you spot Bakugo on the other side with his arms crossed, looking focused. You can't help but notice that his eyes keep drifting toward you. Each time they do, something tugs at your chest.

Why did he look away earlier?

Mina and Jirou appear beside you, both with mischievous grins. “So, who are you rooting for?” Mina teases, bumping your shoulder.

Jirou smirks, passing you a bottle of water. “Yeah, y/n. Bakugo or Midoriya?”

You bite your lip, unsure of what to say. You want to cheer for both of them, but your heart keeps pulling you in one direction.

Just then, Bakugo glances at you again, his gaze intense. For a second, it feels like he’s waiting for your answer too.

“Not sure. Come on, I need to get closer to the track,” you say, standing up and making your way to the field.

As you and your friends move to the side, Bakugo’s sharp gaze follows your every move. Watching you help Deku makes his blood boil—not at you, never at you—but at how easily that nerd made you smile, asking you to do something only couples should share. Couldn't he have asked round-face instead?

He steals another glance at you as you walk with Mina and Jirou, and his mind races as much as his heart. He’s used to being in control, but when it comes to you, control slips through his fingers. He keeps catching himself looking for you in the crowd and his heart stutters when your eyes meet. The worst part? He has no idea what to do about any of it.

“Dammit,” he mutters under his breath, trying to shake the irritation bubbling inside. He’s the best. He’s Bakugo Katsuki. No one—not Deku, not anyone—was going to get in his way. Especially when it came to you.

As he watches you settle onto the blanket with Mina and Jirou, he makes a final decision.

If you’re still undecided, then he’ll show you exactly who deserves your attention. He’s going to leave every other competitor in the dust, prove that no one can compare to him.

Bakugo takes a deep breath, his eyes narrowing in focus as the call for the race start echoes across the field. He feels the adrenaline rush as the onlookers cheer and scream.

He’ll show you. He’ll show you what it means to be the best. He’s going to win, and when he does, he wants you to be cheering for him.

Uhm. Another P5 characters with P4 plot au. This one with Makoto-Goro siblings

I'm off my ADHD meds for a little bit so my mind is running wild again so here's another au.

The wildcard is Akira/Joker here. He's staying with Sojiro and Futaba while his family is on a world traveling cruise for a year.

Star is Morgana. He's, more like P5 Morgana. A cat.

Magician? Futaba! She's basically Inaba's only tech support, and takes a lot of crap for being so "obsessed" with something that's "ruining the youth"

Chariot Ann for this one. She plays volleyball, moved to Inaba the year before, has a girlfriend back in Tokyo. She's hoping to get to see her at tournaments.

Priestess Yusuke! His mom, Sayuri, runs the Inaba Gallery, which holds cultural art and pieces about the town's history. He has been spending more time running tours since her illness has spiked. (Transmasc Yusuke)

Emperor Ryuji! He's misunderstood. Wants to protect his Ma, but everyone just sees the violence they saw in his dad. He's also coming to terms with being bi

Lovers Haru. She's a celebrity chef, taking a year off from being a baking show host after a ton of threatening letters, and a break in while she was away from home. So she's staying with her Uncle Munehisa Iwai and cousin Kaoru, helping out at their airsoft and hunting shop

And. Fortune Makoto. But gimme a sec to explain that one

Instead of one detective Prince? This au has TWO!! The Detective Princes, the Akechi twins; Goro Akechi, the charmer, runs a sweets blog, the Hunger Arcana. And Makoto Akechi, the silent broodier twin, the lonelier brother, the Fortune Arcana

Now let's talk specifics. Makoto is AFAB, female at birth. After their parents up and left, Makoto started pretending to be Goro's brother to be "safer". Then, it felt good. But, not quite right. (Non-binary Makoto.) They haven't thought about it since they started binding and taking T, at 15. There's other issues at play

Makoto doesn't know who they are anymore. All anyone sees of them is Goro's twin, the little brother, the shadow to the much more beloved Prince. They swallow down anxiety pills each morning, trying to erase the shake they feel in front of the camera. It doesn't ease the sting of their brother's harsh words

Goro wears his outfit from canon. Makoto has a similar coat, but instead of tan it's dark blue. Black pants, black boots to his black dress shoes. No headband. Less bangs. They keep their hair shorter than Goro's. To help pretend to be his brother. It's choppy, a little wild, and when it's wet from the rain it sticks up all over. They have a custom Breton style cap (it's like a police cap), it's dark blue, black, has a bright blue fist on the part where a badge would go.

They start to split more and more as the story goes on. It really strikes when Makoto starts at Yasogami, and Goro continues on playing the adult. After Makoto is saved from the TV, they move out of their apartment, living in the spare room in the Kitagawa home

Anyways that's the outline under the cut will be extra stuff I've come up with

Makoto, post being rescued, lying out by the Samegawa riverside, late at night, hat beside them just. Watching the stars

Haru lies beside them. Doesn't say a word. But, she takes their hand

Makoto: ...do you think I'm doing any good with the group?

Haru: of course you are, why would you ask that?

Makoto: ...

Haru: oh, your fight with Ryuji.

Makoto: it, did he say it was a fight?

Haru: he seemed upset like it was one. What happened?

Makoto: ...he asked me out. But, I don't know, it didn't feel right. I can't tell what he thinks I am, *who* he thinks I am. But, I know it's not who I want to be

Haru: he doesn't think of you as a girl. None of us do

Makoto: but he sees me as a guy.

Haru: ...and that's not you? You're neither?

Makoto: I'm, that's an option?

Haru: oh, you isolated little baby queer

Makoto: wha

Haru taps at their bound chest a little: you like this, right? The binding?

Makoto: yeah. I always have, it's why I started the hormones. But,

Haru: are you worried they'll turn you into someone you're not?

Makoto: it's silly, cause, I like what I've gotten. But,

Haru: but it's enough?

Makoto: it's enough,

Makoto: no?

Haru: mm. Cause I like girls. But I also like, non-men. And some men, selectively.

Makoto: oh? So, you know about this stuff?

Haru: I do. So does Akira, and Yusuke, and even Ann. So, we could talk to Ryuji over time, get him to understand some stuff, if you were interested in trying with him. We could do so regardless

Makoto: ...he's not, my type. I, I think I also like non-men. Women too.

Haru: hm, fancy that

Makoto at school, quiet and pensive, in the male uniform with their cap, hands in pockets, just standing by the stairs, looking at their boots

And Haru slides over, hand to their wrist, smiling all pretty, and Makoto softly smiles back

Their whole class thinks they're dating lmao. The whole school thinks so

Ryuji: ...ah, so I wasn't his type to begin with. EFF,

Yusuke: hm? Oh, Makoto-senpai wishes to be referred to with gender-neutral terms. You weren't *their* type to begin with

Makoto lying back on Haru's bed, knees off the edge, coat thrown off, black turtleneck riding up just enough to hint at abs. Haru sits on their lap, work apron tossed aside, the dark button-up having a few buttons undone at the bottom, a few at the top. She's holding one of Makoto's hands to her thigh, just under where her skirt rests, the other is on their stomach. Makoto's remaining hand is buried in bright curls, and they're panting, Haru giggling as she sprinkles kisses to their jaw

"Your, your uncle- when will he,"

"We still have a little time, don't worry. I woudlnt put you in a situation where he'd try to kill you."

Makoto's mind is spinning so fast. Only thought being "Haru". Haru is having fun turning her stiff little detective into affectionate mush

And, when her uncle does come home,

Munehisa: hey, you didnt tell me you had a boy over

Haru: uncle, this is Makoto! ***They're*** helping me study for exams!

Munehisa: ...uh, okay? Just. No funny business with my niece, okay?

Old Friends (Zosan x Reader) P7

Plot: Reader is the 9th doctors old assistant but soon moved on to other things, joining the straw hat pirates and falling in love but now their paths cross again (only he has a new face, 10th Doctor) when they go to see an old friend in a strange hospital. Unfortunately there's some one else there that wants to start trouble.

One piece and Doctor who cross over (10th doctor), its based off the new earth episode. i thought since David tenant as the doctor is coming back in November it would be good to get this idea out.

Rounding the corner Zoro, Sanji and Chopper finally find you walking through some metal doors with the doctor following close behind, anger builds up inside Zoro seeing the way your looking at the doctor as the doors start to close. Sanji picks up Chopper who yelps a little at the sudden action as the cook runs for the door being closely followed by Zoro their foot steps getting Casandra's attention. With a gasp she turns in time to see the three make it through the doors just before they slam shut and lock. "What the hell are you guy's doing here?" your voice full of anger at them along with your eyes, Chopper jumps a little form his position in Sanji's arms at your tone "Don't use that tone with me" Zoro glares stepping closer to you only for your body to take a step back from him, Casandra's not scared of him but there's no harm in acting scared. She knows even if their mad at you they won't hurt you and the cook is a sucker for helping scared and sad girls. "We need to talk" Sanji signs hoping that what Chopper told them isn't true, both boys know the reindeer wouldn't lie to them, but they hope it was some kind of mistake at least. Turning the act off Casandra sighs and turns your back to the boys flicking your hair in Zoro's face making him more angry "Later" Casandra brush them off with a hand gesture making Zoro grab your arm and turn you around "What the hell Y/N? Don't you dare turn you back on us" The swordsman's eyes and voice is full of rage and it sends a shiver down your spin.

Sanji quickly places a hand on Zoro's shoulder trying to stop him from going too far "Zoro please dont hurt her. Let's just talk about this" The doctor grabs Zoro's arm thats around your wrist gaining the swordsman's attention, Zoro's angry eyes flick form yours to the doctor who seems quite calm "I don't know what's going but let her go" The doctor sigh hoping to not get into a fight with the green haired man, Zoro lets go of your arm and turns to the doctor stepping closer to get into the mans face. Casandra rubs your wrist it didn't hurt at all but might as well make a show of it, she knows it will make Sanji upset at least "I don't have time for your shit. We need to get going" Your voice growls out Sanji looking at you in shock not only at your words but at the way your rubbing your wrist "Why are you acting like this?" His voice sad as his heart breaks but you just roll your eyes and walk way "We can talk later, there are peoples lives at stake here" She doesn't care much about the people here, but she can use the people need help thing to get them to shut up for a while. The doctor sighs and looks away ashamed before following you down the hall, Chopper still in Sanji's arms places his hand on Zoro's arm "I know your mad but if she's right then we need to help" Zoro looks over at the reindeer no longer mad but sort of numb, having you push them away like that without a care or some kind of reason is not like you. Sanji takes Zoro's hand squeezing it a little feeling hurt as well but at least they have each other to lean on for now.

The cook starts walking pulling Zoro along at first but soon the swordsman picks up his feet and walks next to the blonde. The three follow after you and the doctor going down some stairs and through another set of doors that opens up to a large glowing green area. A wide circular room with a hollowed out center and railing stopping you form going over but if you look down you can't see the bottom just multiple floors of the same thing. Lining the walls are metal and glass pods, cloudy and glowing green, in some you can make out dark shapes of people in them but there's no sound. "What is this place?" Chopper asks unable to believe what their seeing, sure this is an alien hospital but this is nothing like the rest of the hospital above them "intensive care... although no one goes in or out except the nurses" Casandra explains clinging to the doctors arm as he walks over to one of the pods, The doctor try's to pull his arm away form you but your grip is too strong. Once in front of a pod the doctor turns to you and holds his hand out, Casandra smiles and pulls away reach into your cleavage and pulling out the key card before handing it to him. Sanji clenches his teeth and grips Zoro's hand in anger, before now he couldn't believe you would kiss the doctor but seeing you cling to his arm made him sick, Zoro looks over at the cook seeing his eyes fixed on your every move with an angry look. The swordsman squeezes Sanji's hand back snapping him out it and walks closer to the pod.

The doctor swipes the key card on a panel next to the pod unlocking it and releases a horrible smell making you all cover your nose. Chopper squirms a bit in Sanji's arm, his senses being bombarded with the smell so the cook takes a few steps back giving the reindeer some relief. The doctor opens the door revealing a human male attached to the wall by wires and metal, he looked weak and covered in sores, bumps and blisters. Casandra gags a little putting you hand over your mouth and taking a step back "he has everything.. Every virus. How is that possible?" Chopper asks looking the man over seeing him very tired but trying to talk "It's disgusting... won't we get infected?" Casandra asks backing up against the railing refusing to look at the thing, "Were fine, just don't touch them.... I'm so sorry" The doctor sighs closing the pod and letting it lock the smell fading away. "He-he has... he shouldn't be alive... he must be in so much pain, unless he's a carrier of some kind" Choppers eyes tear up clinging onto Sanji as he tries not to cry, as a doctor he can't understand why someone would let this happen, there's no treatment in there with him so their not curing him. "What the hell is going on?" Zoro growls wanting answers now looking over at you and the doctor. "That's none of your business" a commanding voice makes you all look over at two cats in nurses uniforms "Their people... how could you do that to them?" The doctor yells anger boiling up in him as Casandra takes your hand off your mouth and smile at one of the nurses for a quick second "Their not people, their just flash" The same cat from before comments, the nurse had a blue band on her hat indicating she was a matron one of the higher ups of the hospital.

"How could you say that, they have a heart beat and nerves an-" Chopper calls out angry that they would let this happen, the cats looking at him before hissing cutting him off "They're clones, not real people. We are the greatest hospital in the galaxy, it's our job to cure, that is what we are doing" The other cat with a sweet voice speaks, Sanji steps a little closer looking the cat over. "You're the nurse taking care of Boe" Sanji speaks recognizing the voice, the nurse smiles at him and nods before looking back at the doctor whose face is full of anger "I don't care who you are, this stops now and what ever you've done to Y/N needs to be reversed" He states pointing at you making the boys look at you confused, they never thought of someone doing something to you but it makes sense, you've been very off and your personality changes in seconds. "I don't know what your talking about, we haven't done anything too her" The matron states looking you over with a confused face as Casandra walks over to the doctor and rubs his arm. "Im fine" Casandra smiles trying to sound kind-hearted but on the inside is getting a little angry that everything seems to be falling apart yet again. "No your not. Y/N would care about these people, she would feel sympathy not disgust, and she would never threaten a friend." The doctors words grow more angry as he turns to face you but your eyes look away form him and over to one of the nurses. "You kissed him... You threatened Chopper. Why?" Zoro steps closer hoping you will now give him an answer, Casandra looks at the swordsman happy that he doesn't look too angry more worried which means he won't lash out. "You would never talk to us like that, with anger and hate. We know somethings wrong let us help, Please Y/N" Sanji begs with sad eyes stepping closer after putting Chopper down.

As the cook gets close Casandra's anger boils, so she pushes Sanji back hard enough for him to lose his balance and Zoro has to catch him. The swordsman helps the cook regain his balance and was about to yell when your angry voice speaks "You just had to ruin things didn't you?" Signing Casandra grab the doctor by the tie pulling him closer, his eyes widen at all your actions still trying to work out why your acting like this "You're so clever, such a smart ass" your words full of anger despite the sweet smile Casandra is putting on "I needed help to get what i want, a body and a brilliant mind." Zoro glares at you stepping closer only to stop when you pull out a switch-blade pressing the tip of it against his throat. "Y/n don't" Sanji yells in a panic getting closer but stops when you shake your head at him telling him not to get closer. Chopper hides behind the cooks leg scared of what your going to do and why your acting like this "Who are you?" Zoro asks looking you over, your not his Y/n and you haven't been for a while. He thought you were just acting out or something but now it seems someone else was in control "So your not just a pretty face" Casandra smiles with a giggle before turning to look at the doctor "Answer" The doctor commands pulling your hand off his tie which Casandra lets him do "The last human" Casandra smiles seeing the wide eye'd express on the doctors face but Chopper, Sanji and Zoro are very confused "Casandra?" The Doctor's question only just makes it out as the nurse sprays him in the face making him pass out on the ground before turning and punching the Matron out. Using your other hand Casandra quickly pull out a small perfume bottle from your cleavage and sprays zoro in the face, the swordsman coughs and stumbles back holding his mouth trying to stay contuse but his vision becomes blurry soon falling to the ground and passing out. Chopper running to Zoro trying to wake him up as Sanji rushes forward and grabs your arms but the nurse sprays him in the face.

"No please" Chopper yells out before passing out. Casandra sighs and looks around at the mess "We'll this didn't go to plan and you didn't tell me these people were infected" The nurse looks down holding the Reindeer in her arms after putting the bottle away "I'm sorry, but they only get infected after their made so the DNA should still be good enough to make a body." Casandra glares at the cat making the nurse back up against the wall "Good enough? Good enough is not what i want... i need a body, one that won't fight back but for some reason you can't seem to make that happen plus it seems these things are made to be infected so that means if i use the DNA to make a body I'll be able to get illness or disease easily" Your hand goes around the nurses neck holding her against the wall "I'll do better, I'll try and get into the DNA room again and find something better"

Casandra sighs and pulls your hand away "No don't bother, Take this one and extract DNA form someone else. Doesn't matter, get these tied up while i deal with the matron" Casandra orders walking over to her meek servant and handing him the bottle of perfume "And if they wake up before i get back, spray them again" The servant bows taking the bottle and starting to drag the uncontuse men over to the railings and getting the chains out of the box to tie them up. Anyway, I am SUPER BAD at this game. Even on Easy, the controls just feel..... weird. When the game told me I'd unlocked a new combo, it did help me understand a bit that this is basically a fighting game with permanent hoard mode, but as someone who doesn't play fighting games, it's a steep learning curve.

Whatever, it's a big world, and there are AssCreed-style Prison Keeps that have to be taken over to progress the story.

The Core of every Prison Keep is an item emblematic of the Jail warden's power. For Alice, there's the first big magazine she made the cover of, her first designer dress, and her big CD. Ann is not thrilled with any of this, clearly seeing herself in Alice. It's easy to imagine that all of these Core items are things that Ann aspires to as well, and the reflection is clearly disheartening.

Again, this game makes the whole Inspirational Model thing work so much more than P5 original. I really feel for Ann here and I'm glad that rather than just a villain the cast isn't really connected to, there was effort here to make it feel more personal.

I have seen people claim that P5R is too sympathetic towards Maruki, especially in that the PTs are supposely more empathetic towards him. Some of them, Sumi in particular want to thank him for his actions. It's like I get it bc the PTs see him as misguided but like they just saw how Maruki brainwash a teenage girl to be her sister and torture her Persona from her. After kidnapping her for a week. Like that gets no comment and never brought up again. Wouldn't the PTs consider that behavior from a rotten adult,but they don't and see him as different from other palace rulers. I wish that they acknowledge that her hurt Sumire greatly and still try to keep him sympathetic. But given comments from the P5R interview, I think that the developers themselves also don't realize how fucked Maruki is.

i do think the writing waffling on whether what maruki's doing is wrong ends up being a weak point in what's otherwise a really excellently crafted story, especially, like you said, the way that sumi ends up being used as kind of the mouthpiece for "maybe he's really not that bad!" when she's the one who was most directly harmed by him. it's a flaw with how p5 handles a lot of female characters and their agency in the arcs around them honestly, with shiho and haru as probably the biggest examples of this particular issue, but with sumi it's frustrating to know that it probably wasn't always like this and she was the one they chose to change to try and make maruki more sympathetic... and in doing that so late it feels like they just had to change the dialog around plot beats that were already set in stone and cast him in a worse light than they seem to want to

i totally get them wanting to make it a legitimately difficult choice but i wish it hadn't come at the cost at getting any acknowledgement at all of how fucked a situation sumi was in or letting her really work through any pain or anger over it

the one thing i can say is that the phantom thieves other than joker and akechi don't know everything that happened to sumi from 1/2 to 1/9, since they show up after she's already unconscious and they don't know what he did to make cendrillon behave like that, and later when it comes up in mementos she doesn't remember anything after azathoth grabbing her. i don't think joker or akechi would tell anyone in detail after that (joker out of sensitivity, akechi because he's not really interacting with anyone more than he has to) but i do at least think if they'd seen all that go down they'd have been a lot angrier on sumi's behalf, especially if he still let her try to fight the whole group one-on-one. or i'd hope they would have been, at least.

Oh my gosh, it's finally race week again! But not with the usual format because they're testing the new one. Honestly, I don't like the change. I know sprints are already controversial, but Brazil 2022 proved they could be good, so I don't understand the need to change it again. It's not working, and it shows. Teams and drivers benefit from practice! Also, Baku is the wrong circuit to test this. Anyway, here is what I think of today's sessions.

FREE PRACTICE 1

RED BULL

Turn 8 is probably the most difficult, but both Red Bulls (and Fernando) seem to dominate there quite a bit, above the others. The session was interesting because both Red Bulls fought with Charles for P1. Checo was pretty fast, and I thought he would be P1, but Max took it at the last second!

In the end, Max was P1 and Checo P3.

In other news: I loved the comment about Checo being the King of the Street Circuits! More of that please!

FERRARI

I don't have many things to comment about Ferrari, just that they did great. Although I noticed some mistakes by Carlos, the results give me hope.

Charles was P2 and Carlos P4.

MCLAREN

McLaren was… great? It's surprising, really. I think the biggest problem I saw was that Oscar's DRS didn't open near the end of the session, but I'm not sure if it was a driver or car issue.

Lando was P5 and Oscar P12.

ALPHATAURI

• I don't have much to say, just that AlphaTauri was good! • Although, apparently, Yuki was missing downforce, at least at the start of the session. • Nyck was P6 and Yuki was P14.

ASTON MARTIN

I noticed at the start that both Aston Martin had to abort several laps, which is bad because there's only one FP. Although Lance was doing well anyway! But then came the problem with Fernando's DRS, which didn't open, but they seemed to solve it.

Lance was P7 and Fernando P8.

In other news: They were on fire with all the Taylor Swift references! Who would have thought the season would get to this point. Also, Jimmy on camera!

WILLIAMS

Alex was great during the session! I have high hopes for him this round (and all rounds).

Alex was P9 and Logan P16.

MERCEDES

Lewis had problems with the brakes. Then there wasn't much grip, but they seemed to solve the brakes. He was able to make places up at the end, but it wasn't enough. George didn't have the best session, but he's Mr. Saturday for a reason.

Lewis was P11 and George P17.

In other news: TOTO AND MICK CAM! AND BONO!!!

HAAS

Kevin's car stops randomly and Haas doesn't know why. Disappointed but not surprised.

Hülkenberg was P15 and Kevin P20.

ALPINE

Everything about Pierre was a fiasco. I can't believe the marshalls couldn't put the fire off. It turned out to be because of hydraulic fluid. It affected Esteban's session because they decided to retire him even though his car was not on fire.

Este was P18 and Pierre P20.

QUALIFYING

Q1

It's a shame Zhou didn't make it to Q2, but at least Val did better!

I think it's so nice that Esteban's mechanics helped with Pierre's car! But it's a pity that Pierre wrecked the car in such a way. It was a problem with the brakes in Turn 3. Luckily when Este brushed the barrier, nothing happened to him.

Both Haas out doesn't surprise me.

NYCK AGAINST THE BARRIERS CAN'T BE. The positive side is that Yuki went into Q2.

(re)watching Transformers: Prime season 1

this was a series that was on during a time, but i don't think i ever saw the end or even a lot of it, though i do remember the motorcycle robot well and thought she was really cool (may have been lesbianism or gender envy), and Red from OSP mentioned is with some regularity which has kept it in my mind. also it was what i was watching when i got picked up to see my sibling for the first time after they were born and i remember being quite annoyed i had to stop watching the show, which clearly has stuck with me for way too long.

ep1 darkness rising, p1

well, it almost looks good. almost, but the lighting engine is just too weak to pull most things off. the graphic quality just doesn't seem to be able to pull of what they want it to. the terrain is extremely low in quality. i expect that to get a lot better, not just with seasons but even though the first season as they build up more assets.

damn that wasn't long for the first death. might also explain why he didn't look great. how much time do you put into a character that exists for 5 minutes?

it's interesting to see an enemy with a plan we know at least in part will fail as they don't truly have the element of surprise. for protagonists it's common, classic tragedy stuff. but never for antagonists.

wow, real subtle guys. two dark purple spiky cars driving like assholes. no one will ever notice anything up. also pausing really reveals how bad things blend. the entire scene has motion blur Except the characters. even still the action is surprisingly good. i just hope the human cast won't be unbearable.

small dextrous fighter dodging around strikes for larger opponents that she can take down? well if that isn't my favourite. no seriously that's always what i try to play in games. i'm no good at hit but it's my fucking jam.

oh she has way too much detail to be a background character. i don't remember this goth girl at all for some reason though. she does have the best personality so far though (yes i like enthusiastic characters)

i'm getting the feeling that they either don't have the ability or time to fully render some scenes which is why some turn out way worse then others.

i repeat again: a LOT of big plot point early. i'm afraid for the rest of the series.

transformers is pretty big on defending the home you didn't choose. there's a really harmful message in that. patriotism is incredibly dangerous, which is part of why america is so dangerous, to others and too itself. it's also big on them choosing to defending the home they didn't choose. there's a much less harmful message in that.

Masters and Students

oh, Starscream has a goa to work towards. will it be one episode or a seasonal thing?

"you are a motorcycle, shouldn't you know how to put one together?" "you are a human, can you build me a small intestine". there are some significant differences (motorcycles are designed and lack most useless parts while humans are not and our internals are a bloody mess design wise). but also fair point and fucking funny.

damn, first instance of damage being permanent.

so they try to make the mom look bad by being over protective. but we don't get any sense that most recon missions go perfectly smoothly and safely. now i'm sure that's like characters in stories going to the toilet, but it does make it feel like they are very often dangerous making the mom seem more then reasonable. they also try to make RC seem over protective even though she takes them on missions she believes are safe and sends them back when dangers shows. i don't think they'll make the conclusion stick well.

i wonder how permanent they'll make those very neat retributive cuts. she seems like the type who'd keep them until she killed the one that gave them.

oh, his dad left... i though he might have died... that's either a much stronger stance, or his father will be revealed later making it much less interesting because we've seen that dozens of times. and they didn't make them worrying the bad thing they did, but instead not accepting change. surprisingly well handled.

Rock Bottom

not like this (be burried under a metric fuckton of rock and then drilled to death)... why not? a swift, easy end to one of the biggest threats. boring for the series? sure. but they could have made it saving before attacking and it would have made total sense.

i just realized the autobots make for a pretty standard 5 man band... sort of. some are easy. like bulkhead is the obvious big buy, ratchet is the obvious smart guy. now arcee and optimus are obvious leader and lancer. but you could question who's who. for the leader optimus is rather rarely the focus... but yea no he's the leader. and arcee is a neat lancer being the smallest compared to the largest, nimble and dodging instead of standing his grown and tanking. which would make bumblebee the heart which makes total sense.

if anyone would turn coat starscream would make some sense... but also not as he'd want to tripplecross. however he thinks he'll get more.

Like how bad was this falling out with pierre and esteban? Surely if it's just childhood stuff they'd have let it go by now, and at least have a respect but healthy rivalry with someone they'd call a mate. But it seems like they are enemies more than anything, or maybe the media are just making it out that way

that's the thing it wasn't regular childhood stuff. It was about racing. The media doesn't even talk about them much. Pierre has clearly stated they aren't friends now.

When they were kids they would spend all their time training together. Pierre had shared how they would do a few laps in the snow go back inside warm their hands and go for another round. Pierre wrote blogs about his friend Este , Charles and Anthoine.

They were almost like brothers. They pushed each other to do well because they wanted to beat each other. Then at one point, their relationship started getting bad when they fought for championships.

According to Pierre, it started in 2009 at Bridgestone cup where they were battling P3. Pierre collided with Esteban during the last lap which resulted in Esteban taking P4 while Pierre got on the podium with P3. Later next year Esteban collides with Pierre in one of the races.

They stopped training together after that 2009 incident. A few more incidents followed after that. According to Pierre, he tried to talk to Esteban about their actions and tried to save their relationship by but Esteban didn't show any interest.

Their rivalry continued in the single-seater as well. They raced each other in Formula Renault 2.0. Esteban finished P3 while Pierre had gone on to win the championship in 2013 In fact, Pierre still considers Esteban his biggest rival.

Esteban got a seat in F1 before Pierre did. Pierre in his very first driver's debrief sat with Esteban despite having other friends there. Let's not forget their contact at French GP 2018. It was Pierre's first home Grand Prix and Pierre ended up colliding into Esteban's car from behind ending both their race in lap 1 itself.

They are petty as heck about each other. Pierre says he was waiting for an apology from Esteban that never came. The lack of apology really disappointed Pierre who wanted to have mutual respect between them. I personally think Pierre has a harder time taking Esteban's name than Esteban does with Pierre's name. While Pierre is happy about them both being in Formula 1. They have never celebrated the fact together.

Now all this is Pierre's version about the events. Esteban stays silent about the topic. He has only ever talked about how he had introduced Pierre to karting.

They don't follow each other on social media. they are seen interacting in driver's parades and media pens on rare occasions. They congratulated each other on their race wins on social media. Pierre congratulated Esteban after the race during media interactions as well. The funny thing is that Pierre likes posts about Esteban's podiums and his birthday on various accounts including Esteban's own despite not following him on Instagram.

They rarely mention each other's names if they are asked questions, about their fight for P5 in the championship.

In Brazil, Esteban was asked about the championship with Alpha Tauri during his press conference on Thursday with Yuki. He even took Pierre's name even once always using Alpha Tauri. Also while Esteban was talking about Pierre in his post-race interview and calling him Gasly. Pierre didn't even mention his name during his own interview and referred to Esteban as Alpine while he took Alonso's name talking about P5 in the constructor's championship.

I did say they are a milder version of Brocedes. I think there are hopes for reconciliation.

Persona 5/Persona 5 Strikers: Pro-Police or Anti-Police?

Hoo boy... So this honestly has been a LONG time coming on my end because I have seen so much of that debate on social media (Twitter namely) and I can see the points of BOTH sides but there have been moments where it just got out of hand... Especially whenever people tried to put in a more grey/nuanced take only to be slammed and taken out of context. Even repeatedly mentioning the interrogation at the beginning of P5 which, I will admit has gotten tiresome. At least for me, I do still feel for Joker and I wished the game acknowledged his trauma more but there's a thing called, "beating a dead horse" and this is one along with "Haru says ACAB" in Strikers (which was done THREE TIMES in the same arc and it got annoying fast, like shut up already! We get it!). So, let's dive in a little bit:

Police in Japan are just as bad if not worse than the West and I STILL hate the idea of Makoto wanting to become a cop for such naive reasons (especially with what happened to Sae, her own sister!)... But there are at least some of form of nuances sometimes and by that I mean, I can see what they were trying to do? I do agree that P5/P5S backpedaled SEVERELY by deciding to sweep issues under the rug after addressing them and not continuing from such. In fact I feel like it could have been a hell of a lot better. But P5 did something different compared to previous games and addresses the issues DIRECTLY right at the beginning of said game! It was tense and horrifying, but needed. Of course... They then sweep it under the rug and act like nothing traumatic happened to our protag which is NOT a good look at all and I'm still pissed off about it. In the main game's case, it's portrayed as more black and white with only a SMALL amount of nuance like that cop that was trying to help Futaba when she went out by herself and got lost (which people ignore entirely by the way). So I CAN see where people got the "anti-police" message from... But that's only the tip of the iceberg as it's ACTUALLY more about Systematic Corruption, not exactly or JUST police corruption. Namely in politics with Shido and the Conspiracy (which is apparently still somewhat around in Strikers until Owada's downfall) controlling everything all the way to law enforcement. The force had been basically under his payroll (including the corrupt SIU Director before his death) whether by force or not (mostly not in this case though). Now honestly, the police depicted there are undoubtedly rotten to the core save for a VERY SMALL handful (the cop that was trying to help Futaba which, again, gets ignored by several). Look at the interrogators who ruthlessly beat and drug a minor without any second thought or remorse for example. But again, the black and white narrative the game kept unwittingly doing ended up being to its detriment in a way. I'm not defending those assholes AT ALL! They deserved every punishment given to them! But for a game that goes on about grey morality... It doesn't quite deliver on that. Still though, it does emphasize that it's more of the fault of the whole corrupt system, not just one part of it. There needs to be change and reform which is what our MCs were trying to do in a way (more like inspiring change but still). In the end, it's all about the following:

Corruption and abuse of power.

Again the police depicted in this game were incompetent at best, corrupt at worse with very few silver linings. But it's not just them but rather the one person responsible for the whole mess. Who had them under his payroll? Who controlled them and by extension all of Tokyo? Who was willing to dispose of anyone who "outlives their usefulness" or is perceived as a threat to what he wants (including his own family)?

SHIDO AND BY EXTENSION THE CONSPIRACY

Bottom line: They are definitely a problem but it's not just them.

"But, Joker and his trauma?"

I definitely understand that and still do. I fully believe he has and still has trauma with the police. Easy! But... I do feel like people go too far with it sometimes. It's hard to explain but there have been moments where people either use it as a justification/argument against someone trying to provide a more nuanced view of things or... Dare I say, depict him like a "uwu soft traumatized boi." Like I said, it's hard to explain on my end so feel free to ignore it. Everyone deals with trauma differently so there is STRONG chance that I'm overanalyzing it. I just remember moments where I just feel a little, I guess annoyed? I'm not sure exactly but final thing: I understand what he went through and I can't imagine how long it would take to recover but I hope he DOES overcome it.

"Sae? Akechi?"

Yep, even though their jobs are different, they are by and large members of law enforcement no matter how you spin it. Both were broken in a way. Akechi is pretty easy to explain with how Shido negatively impacted his life but not much about Sae, who dealt with sexism/misogyny at her workplace along with the trauma of her father's (also a cop) death. She no doubt had some idealism only to be hit with the fact that she's gonna have to use underhanded/downright illegal tactics to get by and even rise up the ranks. She, therefore ended up (well, nearly) corrupted herself before coming to her senses. That's honestly one of the BIGGEST REASONS why I felt like Makoto joining the force to become a police commissioner isn't a good, even a downright naïve, idea. I honestly would have been somewhat fine with it if it weren't for that fact among other things. Regardless of her willpower, it will go south fast.

Now... Onto Strikers!

Persona 5 Strikers

Since the game came out and I started playing it, I still feel like the system is still beyond saving, especially when attempting to do it from the inside. But I don't mind the added nuances that P5 didn't do much of. It's still continuing the critiques, just shows more of what does happen within said system and even has an ACTUAL officer (Zenkichi) say, "Yeah, my job sucks, everyone's corrupt, there are much better ways to do things and make a change but not this. I'm only staying because I have a daughter to take care of and it's all I know. I'm no different from them." Was it all handled well? I wouldn't say "yes" (Joker's trauma is BARELY addressed at all of course) but a little better than what P5's narrative did which only addressed the issues but not exactly follow up on them. Now to be fair... In the system, regardless of where you live, any one within it who remotely tries to do something or speak against it either lose their jobs or even go "missing" irl. Those have happened and it's more proof that yeah, it's rotten to the core. There's no denying it but regardless, that's NOT what the game is about at all. At least that's what I feel about it as it's only PART of the narrative. I think Zenkichi puts it best here:

Speaking of Zenkichi... Oh boy... Now I definitely understand some of the criticisms with him but honestly, he was the best written (PT) character I've ever encountered! He was honestly the perfect representation of those that genuinely want to help and do good, only to be held back by an extremely harsh reality. It was already hinted at with Sae but here? It 100 percent confirms just how harsh and even cutthroat it can be if it could break someone's idealism so badly. Even Kaburagi of all people thinks the same thing Zenkichi said:

Then there's his past and it's a tragic one! But let's look more at the decisions he ended up making:

While it was no doubt done to protect his daughter, he ended making a selfish decision along with a selfless one (which was brilliant!) with not only allowing the cover up of his wife's death and denying justice for her, but also ruining an innocent person and their family's lives.

It's horrible, but also... There's a grey area/nuance as with the rest of his character. It was both understandable, but also wrong as he, as Akane's Shadow puts it:

He sacrificed his values, his morals, all for the sake of having a peace of mind. Speaking of Akane, she's also an interesting case in a way that she more or less perfectly represents the more "black and white" views on justice in general. Namely the more toxic/biased kind. Her reasons are also understandable but she was also acting selfishly by only focusing on how SHE was effected by Aoi's death and not even considering those that were also grieving her death and/or that people grieve/handle grief differently than her. But back on topic.

Her own views and beliefs that law enforcement basically SHOULD be dismantled (mostly out of said childish bias and black & white views) and it's framed as WRONG and it's very much correct on that. Chaos and order are two sides of the same coin, one can't exist without the other. When I say ACAB, I'm calling for reform, defund, have the corrupt held accountable for EVERYTHING and even face jail time for their crimes! Defund the police, have the ones that arrest, harm, and even murder out of bias (race, gender, etc.), lose their badges/jobs and locked up, make improvements! It's saying that there IS still corruption out there and there's no denying it. But fully eliminating the law in general will just lead to more problems. Now granted, she's young and clearly doesn't fully understand why those views are ultimately wrong but still... It was a very interesting subject to tackle and I feel like they handled it well.

Now back to Zenkichi, he was at first in denial about his decisions ultimately being the wrong ones too and even tries to justify it. Of course, his Shadow said otherwise and that was when he finally admitted that he really did act no different from the criminals he despised. But it also doesn't mean he can't redeem himself and that's what ultimately leads to his new resolve:

That right there along with everything else! There's the nuance! And ultimately despite some hiccups, Strikers handled the grey morality and nuance beautifully! Especially regarding law enforcement! Dare I say, even better than the base game! It continues the critiques with no problem but also showing different sides and areas of it! There is good and evil, but what about in-between? What about the more greyer area? It still says that there IS corruption, sometimes even beyond saving but... Sometimes a small silver lining is hidden somewhere.

Now, the ultimate question:

Is P5 & P5S (namely the latter) Pro-Police or Anti-Police?

Personally, my answer is this: Neither.

Why? What theme do they both have in common?

JUSTICE

Someone puts it best on Twitter that the games are more pro-justice and I fully agree!

P5/P5S gives the idea about following your OWN justice, your OWN moral code and rules, paving your OWN path and not let others dictate it! That's what the MCs ultimately start to learn in both games. Therefore it's pro-justice. Again, do I agree that the system is beyond saving? Yeah. Do I at least acknowledge and understand what the narratives are trying to say and nuances regardless even if I don't agree with some writing decisions (ex: Makoto wanting to become a commissioner despite everything)? Also yes. But at the same time, don't judge a book by its cover for other people (not just law enforcement and politics mind you). Especially some that genuinely DO want to help at best. That there is nuance and greyness, just have to look closely. Some of the MCs are still TERRIBLY written and executed (even annoying) but the message was still somewhat there.

Final Thoughts

Now I fully understand how you all feel of course! I still believe in ACAB and even I agree that maybe I'm one to talk and have a lot more to learn about the world... This is just my own attempt at putting my own two cents in. If you disagree, that's fine! This is just what I've felt should be at least talked about more often. And I tried to phrase it as best as I can without coming off as insensitive or ignorant and if I did, I sincerely apologize for that! I'm not trying to say, come off as a "bootlicker" or any of the sort. I'm just trying show discuss more of the grey areas and nuances that are, more often than not, constantly overlooked. How one interprets both games is ultimately up to them. You, the player. And this is my own interpretation. Simple as that. I hope you all have a good day/afternoon/evening!

You slept through your alarm that rang at 6am. Your brain cells were overworked yesterday night, as you thought about what you saw.

Just as the brightness of the sun cast through your room window, your mum came banging on your door to wake you up.

Without Kyungsoo to go school with... Your motivation to get up was almost zero. You unwillingly got out of bed and trudged your way to the bathroom.

By this time, you normally would already be waiting by kyungsoo’s gate. But not today .. You didn’t know if you wanted to see him or not.

Who’s that girl? He left me alone for 20 minutes... he didn’t even think about me who’s waiting there right?

Feeling down, you didn’t even eat your breakfast. Taking the sandwich on the table you left home.

On your way down, you suddenly thought

would Kyungsoo be waiting for me downstairs? What should I say if I saw him? Should I just walk pass him?

Exiting your apartment, you searched around for kyungsoo. But like another stab to your heart, he didn’t wait for you.

In even more of a mood now, you headed to school alone.

‘Y/N~~ why so late today? Where’s kyungie? Don’t you guys always come to school together?’

Coincidentally meeting woohyun at the school gate, he chirpily asked

‘Ah.. i overslept..’ you could barely even make a smile in your reply

He stopped walking and pulled you to a halt, taking a close up look at your face.

‘Ya, did you really oversleep or have you been ditched by him? Do you want me to give him a kick’ he asked half seriously and jokingly.

Feeling annoyed, you pushed him away, ‘it’s a long story.. don’t ask’

‘Damn , I knew there’s more than it meets the eye. Cheer up, you’ve got me to spice up your day’ he put his arms over you and walked into class together.

Passing by Kyungsoo to get to your seat, you could feel his eyes following you. Without greeting him or acknowledging him, you sat down and started pulling out your notebooks.

From the side of your eye, you could see him switching between looking at his notes and at you.

Did he have something to say? I’m not going to talk to you first, kyungsoo.

‘Y/N..’ just as he finally called out to you, your class monitor called for the class’s attention to greet the teacher.

Making no effort to follow up on what he wanted to say, you pretended to pay attention to whatever the teacher was saying.

Kyungsoo himself held tightly onto the ‘no talking during class’ rule, so he didn’t continue the conversation he wanted to make either.

When break time finally came, you can’t help but still felt awkward with Kyungsoo. You didn’t really want to hang out with him with now, with yesterday’s incident still a fresh wound.

‘Woots! Cafeteria let’s go let’s go!’ Woohyun got up excitedly

But you remained in your seat and looked up at him

‘You guys go ahead, I still have my breakfast with me. I’ll stay in class’

Woohyun looked behind you, where you Kyungsoo was, seeming to understand you were trying to avoid him

‘Y/N are you ...’ Kyungsoo started but was cut off by woohyun

‘Okay then, we will go ahead without you’

Once again, Kyungsoo held back his words. But from the corner of your eye, you saw kyungsoo’s shuffling his feet. Was he unsure whether to go or not?

‘Tell me if you need anything’ woohyun leaned across to your table to tell you. You ruffled his hair and smiled, showing that you appreciate him.

Whatever it was, he ended up leaving you in the classroom to eat your already cold sandwich, without a word.

When you came back from the toilet, Kyungsoo and woohyun were already back from the cafeteria.

‘Got sipping yoghurt for you and melon pan, just incase you faint from being hungry’ woohyun pointed at the snacks on your desk just as you sat down.

‘Omo, woori woohyunie is really the best!’

‘Of course, but give me something in return’ he shot you a flirty look

His suggestive looks made you go off tangent on your thinking right away.

‘Are you asking me to be your girlfriend?!’ You exclaimed in shock. The entire class’s attention was now on the both of you

Woohyun quickly covered your mouth and pulled you out of the class, you make a grab for your yoghurt as he dragged you.

‘Ya! Are you crazy ?! Why would I ask you to be my girlfriend?’ the both of you were now at the corridor

‘how would I know.. ? You looked like it alright ! Plus I mean you’re always so nice to me...’ you innocently said

Flicking your forehead he clarified

‘I just wanted to know what happened between the both of you. Kyungsoo either doesn't want to say it or seems to have no clue what’s going on.’

‘Oh that... yesterday while we were studying, we went to buy some drinks from the vending machine. Then..’

You couldn’t bear to say the words out

‘Then what? You confessed your love or something?’

Woohyun eagerly probe

‘We forgot our wallets, so he was supposed to go back up to take it.

But he left me there waiting for 20minutes while he spoke to some pretty noona’

Your heart was heavy just thinking about that. But Woohyun burst out laughing instead

‘I thought it was something really serious you know, y/n, like something that could tear our friendship . But this ...’ and he continued laughing

‘Ya... I’m just sad about this cause I felt abandoned okay... can’t you understand’

Stifling his laughter, he tried his best to comfort you

‘Alright, I know. Like you aren’t important enough for him to remember you are waiting there.

Don’t think too much about it y/n, you know Kyungsoo doesn’t casually hit anyone up or entertain people. It’s probably something significant ok?’

Though his words didn’t really get to you, you were still thankful, till he added

‘But... y/n ah Kyungsoo is still a high school boy. I think pretty noonas are still part of our interests compared to......’

He deliberately scanned his eyes up then down at you.

You got what he was trying to get at and threw a punch at him which evolved into a childish fight.

As if the timing couldn’t be better, Kyungsoo came out of the classroom door and caught sight of the both of you tangled in a ‘fight’.

His eyes widened just slightly, and he visibly swallowed.

‘The class monitor’s looking for the both of you to hand in your work before the next period’

His voice suddenly changed to the voice he use when he felt awkward with new people. Without making eye contact with either of you, he hurriedly turned on his heels.

Internally face palming yourself a thousand times, you whined

‘Woohyun ah, it’s so awkward now! What excuse should I give to not go home with him today?’ You were in a dilemma. You caused this awkwardness but it feels like you were more scared than him at this persisting situation

‘No worries y/n, he’s got something after school today. I’ll get you snacks you missed out on yesterday ok? Let’s go back to class now’

Entering the class, you caught kyungsoo’s eyes turn away from the back door that instance.

Somehow..

You had this feeling that he had been looking at it for a long time.

Or maybe you were hoping he was

Okay while on the Strikers salt train, can we also bring up how iron man what's his face has like, the same damn concepts as themes as akechi, right down to the featherman references? It's already bad enough that akechi's stuck in spoiler character purgatory and can't appear, but to have a new character add nothing new and just recycle all of that feels like spitting in the eye of fans, especially akechi fans

Gonna be heading out on my 6 hour car ride back but....I wanna answer really fast.

Don't worry I won't be getting off the salt train for awhile.

I wanna state again, I haven't gotten to his dungeon yet (I just finished dungeon 3)......and while I have no hope left for the game (Sophia and Zenkichi are fun at least). So I can't really......bag on Tony Stark yet (not that I PLAN to, I don't WANT to....but it'll probably happen orz judging by the rate the game is going).

Tbf Goro doesn't have the monopoly on Featherman references. Jun and Ken (two chars that have similar key points to Goro), also have those as well (with Goro having the black theme and antagonist to party member in common with the former, and the more similar background and shared arcana and ironically similar looks, AND same birth year and month with the latter).

And iirc (it's been awhile) I thought that he wasn't a reference to Featherman but that the show was similar but not as popular (just another unrelated sentai anime). But it's been awhile since I read it and I'll keep an eye out for it when I get there to verify it.

THAT BEING SAID, I get it.

I think P5S would've been......it could've been better had Atlus waited. Not because I'm arbitrary in the right, and only I know what's best for P5 (heavy sarcasm there in case you didn't catch it). But because.......looking at the fandom, I think it's fair to say they wanted more.

I do think P5's spinoffs aren't planned well compared to P4's (let's be freaking fair, it was P3/4's >.> but I'll still say 4 out of laziness). I will argue that P4's quality is better for a number of reasons but for the biggest one is that they had a plan. You can see it. The melding of themes and a connection.

Arena had Labby, Sho foreshadowing, wondering why P3/4 trusted each other so easily, and questions on Labby's mom. Followed by PQ1, which explained the trust, added to P3/4 with it's B plots on both sides, and heavily hinted at Rei being the Labby mom plot (which connected back to Labby) (and ALSO it gave us a little taste of what the P5 dungeons would be like, with a treasure at the end, didn't know it at the time but it's cool looking back). WHICH THEN led into Ultimax (the glorious mess that it is), which finished the Labby (and her mom) arc (tbh it gave us some good closure on a lot of P3/4 kids arcs), introduced Sho, made Sho a great shadow archetype to not only Labby but also Yu and Adachi as well, and introduced Kagutsuchi (more what he represented rather than execution but he was like....fine, generic but fine). THen we have P4D, which is a big celebration of all the P4 music and one final send off, but the big thing is the straight up contrast between Kagutsuchi and Mikuratana. WHich is awesome for them to do, showing the exact opposite side of the bonds spectrum. Kagu being about "screw bonds, reject EVERYONE" and Miku being like "I want ALL the bonds, I don't care if I have to FORCE them." Which was really interesting (now if we can just have.....toxic bonds...or at least bonds used in a negative sense *glares at Goro and the Conspiracy/P5* You had such a good set up gdi).

P4 era spinoffs ebbed, flowed, and melded into each other. Building off of it. Miku being all about forced bonds is cool on its own, but having JUST come after the big bad who wanted to reject all bonds? It draws your attention just a biiiiiit more. It's not mind blowing, but couple with them mixing and mashing P3 and P4's themes at the same time? Building off each other? Some real thought was put into it.

P5's spinoffs.....aren't that. Which is a shame. Scramble, regardless if it had old game Persona users in it or not, could've been a great follow up for Goro and Sumi (or even Maruki).

I'm just hoping they don't dance and dangle Goro around like they do the P3MC (and whatever Liz is gonna do with him). Just do the arc don't leave it open for gd years. It's not building suspense, it's annoying the fans. It's really frustrating Atlus keeps doing a dick move after dick move with Goro I really feel sorry for his fans.

I didn't mean to go on that little P4 spinoff rant alkfjdsakfj it's almost 3 am and I still need to leave orz sorry it's a bit....uhh scrambled -shot- but I gotta head out now.

and in the same vain, as far as balancing goes, why the hell is it possible to,have a persona that nulls everything? why is that aloud?

poison damage type? we're going into a (possibly) green themed persona game, why not introduce a new damage type or two, p5 added nuke and psi?

can curse damage technical off of something? I just thing flinging bolts of darkness at people is rad as hell and hope it can get some more use

I've heard people talking about p6 being a direct sequel to persona 5???? no????? I hate this idea, p5 is like my favorite game of all time, but the show gotta go on, and as much as I adore the cast, there arks are done.

ok, persona 5 was my first Atlus game, I didn't even know SMT existed until I started looking into the series as a whole, so for p6 can we have it say Shin megami tensai on the box, it doesn't have to be in, big bold letters, but having it there would be nice, (I intend to play some smt when I get a chance, nocturn got a remaster recently I think, I'm looking into it)

can party members ultimate personas have have more thing just nulls, like if satain tensai drained zio or if anat repelled nuke that would have been cool

can we have persona skins for party members? like hecate is cool but could I switch it back to look like Carmen every once and a while, or maybe there could be additional dlc for stuff like making Johanna look like a tricycle, or make captian kids look like he was riding a big skateboard

restructure how skills that hit multiple times work, let's look at double shot, a skill that hits one enemy with light gun damage twice, i purpose you make it so you can hit one enemy twice, or pick two enemys to be hit once, this added a new layer of planning, for if you wanted to use a skill like shinning arrows, you would have to chose weather or not you want to destroy one dude or spread out you damage

a light norse mythology theming on things, in persona 3 all the personas followed a largely Greek theme, delving into, tarterus with Orpheus and thannatos and Io, .etc. maybe not as heavyly as persona 3, but i like the idea

instead of safe rooms can we just have spots that let us fast travel to the dungeon entrance, to then save stuff or pop into the Velvet room. I like the idea of these being trees that sprout up out of no-where and are super out of place for the theme of the dungeon

can mishimas tell all novel about the phantom thevies be a readable book in-game? because I would read that book.

negitive social stats! arrogance, greed, disposition, etc. you get points in then by doing time-saving but unethical things (like cheating in school) and some scores will slow you progress with curtain confidonts if they get to high, but may speed up some neitch confidonts (im looking at you tanaka)

multiple possible starting personas, like the game puts you through a personality test like the first kingdom hearts, and decides which one to give you (with the others being fusable later on)

on the topic of starting personas, can they be useful for a little bit longer? like the first dungeon rather then being ditched at the first opportunity, arsein, izanagi, and Orpheus all have such awesome designs, but you ditch them so fast.

can the game give us more time with confidants? by the time haru is introduced the game is almost over, in my play through of base p5 I didn't even start her confidont, could the game game give us all our relationships by about 60% through the game rather then 85%?

ok, so we may or may not get a teaser for persona 6 this year, it's been a hot minute since any persona stuff has come out, and if they announce another P5 spinoff it could easily come with a P6 teaser attached. regardless of if anything is announced for P6 it will be bare minimum... I want to say 2-5 years till it's relleased in Japan. that being said im going to aimlessly rattle of things I would like to see in persona 6 knowing that none of my followers/mutuals care about the random ass jrpg I just started rebloging stuff about one day (btw hey mutuals I know I don't talk a lot but know i love all of you <3). so let us began the hyperfixiation rant:

give us a female protagonist

retro-gameboy menu aestetic, like in P5 you whip out your phone to fast travel and look at texts, except your MC pulls out a brand safe Nintendo DS to look at character stats and manage healing items

punk rock soundtrack, maybe just my personal biases, but persona 3 had a soundtrack filled with industreal sythrock (I think that's what you call it) that made you feel like you where in a cyberpunk-esk strange destorted world, reflecting the ambiance, P4 had this happy popy soundtrack that hoped to brighten your day and help you stand tall no matter how foggy the situation gets, and P5s smooth jazz and contemporary helping to give the game a calming atmosphere and this deep meloncally and nostalgia for better days, falling in line with the game being about making the world a better place through vigilante acts, if P6 is going to be green themed, like P5 red or P4 yellow, then themes of growth and understanding of one's self may come at the cost of breaking free of oppressive things keeping you down, hence punk rock.

make party members more special, let's take ann from P5 for example, she is the resident mage archetype of the group and does fire magic, by the end of her progression she has conncentrate (2.5 times damage to your next spell) blazing hell (severe fire damage to all enemys) and fire amp/boost (passives that give 25% and 50% fire damage increase respectively), my issue here is: I can make a persona that does way better then that in an afternoon, and then some, with no elemental weakness, ann ain't special. BUT, consider insta-kill abilitys for a moment, they only come in bless and curse elements, they can be very dangerous and quickly end fights, so when Atlus wants an enemy to be tough, they make them null to bless and curse. what if ann had FIRE elemental instakills? they would cost a lot of sp and would only get about a mediam chance of working to balance out, but ann would become essential in finishing fights quick when normal insta-kills are nulled. And with no way to get that kind of ability for yourself, you have to lean on your party more, if they gave something like this to all the party members, it could get really interesting.

can we have gay romance options? in persona 5 we can romance an alcoholic reporter we meet on the street, but not our best friend with which we kill God with and find ourselves inseparably attatched to, in persona 3 you could romance a middle schooler but not someone of the same gender. WHY

a change to the one more system, let us get a one more from healing. make it so that when you heal a party member from bellow half health to full you get a one more, as I feel that healing is always the only thing a party member can do on there turn, as opposed to attacking and baton passing and doing massive damage to an enemy, healing disrupts the flow, as does debufing enemys, maybe they can have a confidont perk that makes it so that you get a one more from debufing a previous undebufed target?

technicals are cool and all, but P6 should pump the breaks after royal gave you technical levels, it's a time sink i don't think was needed, set the chance of a technical to knock down at a static 50%,

for baton pass I would keep the levels of it, but change the way to rank it up because the the darts minigame was cool twice then it was all over

more then just two combats tracks, maybe slight remixes of them for different dungeons/palaces

P4 let you go back to old dungeons to grind, P5 had momentos for in between palaces, it got kinda annoying how easily you could plow through them, maybe you get, like, a gladiator Arena where the game throughs progesivly harder miniboses at you, with a jose like vender to pay for more exp rewards, and it will cap the difficulty intermittently so you arnt over leveled before the next Palace even opens up

give the MC more agency in the story, in P5 your response doesn't really matter, often having the same reply no matter what you say and only really controlling how quickly you rank with a character.

have other characters ignowedge our romance options, even if its unvoiced lines, I romance makoto and was waiting for sae to say something at the very least offhand about it, and got nothing

Two lightning bruisers, but Akihiko funnels all of his energy into tending to the temple of his body until he's acting like vegetables will personally slit his throat in his sleep, vs Kanji, who has like the same power and energy profile but doesn't have an outlet for it yet so he keeps doing funny outbursts that don't make sense even to him.

This game is like.... very good at portraying teenage immaturity. Like, everyone is generally a decent person until they're kind of a little shit about something or other. They're all very likeable but the maturity gap with SEES is really stark, yanno? Everyone in SEES was a traumatized kid who had already been through shit BEFORE they got their gun-shaped Superpower Launchers. the P4 team is just. dumb kids! with powers!

However. One thing, another point of comparison from P3P-- I somehow doubt that Rise would do the Lovers thing with someone other than Reverie like Yukari did with Mitsuru. With the exception of Chie and Yukiko, it feels like everyone's most important relationship is with the MC, not with other characters.

I do feel very sad about that. Akihiko and Ken had Shinjiro, Yukari and Mitsuru had each other. Fuuka and Junpei arguably were closest to FeMC, but they weren't islands. Junpei and Akihiko were frequently in their own little scenes, and Fuuka had that with Junpei and Shinjiro as well.

With the P4 team, everyone orbits around the MC. Which isn't bad. It's fine. But it also loses something, you know?

The police still haven't actually gotten ahold of their suspect, and Nanako gets scared and runs over to sit by Reverie. God, that's crushing. Do you ever think about Nanako pre-P4? How much fucking time did she spend alone? God, I hate Dojima.
