I think one of the most fascinating things about the "Viktor never left Zuan" AUs is just the idea of what he would actually do you know?

Would he be more active politically? Would he be more neutral or against it? More idealistic? Or cynical? Or radicalized by the later revolution or not?

Idk just briefly talking about him in Piltover and his apparent inaction within the system (that opinion can change over time tbh) along with the talks about how he's not very politically knowledgeable or savvy (as well as it's presence in fics) along with debates of him being a "class traitor" or not in the fandom (which the more I thought about it over time since then, the more I rethink that I feel like he probably isn't when you really think about it. At least from my current perspective and I feel like some characters may consider him with that term realistically (maybe, don't quote me on that as we the viewer don't fully know)) kinda made me realize that's part of the appeal of these AUs like what would he do or how would he handle his situation... Especially depending which character you have raising him.

Vander, Silco, Singed, Benzo, the outcomes are endless really and I think it's pretty cool!

Ok I had to reblog this addition because I really like some of your takeaways here!

It does make a lot of (if not more) sense and I definitely see what you're saying both here and in the tags. I think takes like the previous couple reblogs (not including my own because eh, I'm not always confident admittedly) and yours that makes analyzing him so interesting in hindsight. Just really shows how layered and complicated his character and situation is really.

But also survivors guilt I can definitely see being a thing with him tbh. Definitely makes one think more yeah? :)

being a viktor fan in a fandom that frequently woobifies him is such a struggle sometimes. how do i explain that i do kind of think viktor was a class traitor and that his later realization of how much he had contributed to the worsening conditions in zaun over the years is what led to him establishing the commune? i actually dont think viktor is very politically well informed at all and that his years of burying his head in the sand about piltover zaun negotiations have worsened this. to me it seems like viktor put a lot of effort into fitting in at piltover and appealing to them in order to develop hextech and in doing so willingly turned a blind eye to how the hexgates were worsening the class divide. i feel like i see so many people talking about how jayce was ignorant to the struggles of people in zaun but viktor was literally from there and did the same

My headcanon design for post-canon Viktor, where him and Jayce get thrown out from the anomaly, he hatches out of bugtor, and is left with scars from being hexcorized and from the battle.

Viktor has touch aversion and the first time he lets Jayce touch him is to cut his hair.

Hurt, some comfort, maybe a happy ending...

#ARCTOBER DAY 21: Firelights ↳ "We have five minutes till they're out of there."

"Ok so... It works?" "Yes." "Not gonna hurt anyone?" "Of course it won't. Well, eh, unless it gets used too much by the same person then-" "Vee." Viktor just chuckled, "Alright, apologies. Yes, as long as one is careful, it's safe. It can heal, it can provide aid, pretty much the opposite of Shimmer in every way. At least that would be my own claim." Ekko sighs, "Well... If you're certain then I can trust your word on that." He gives his brother a playful smirk, "So what are you gonna call it?" "Hmm... What are your ideas then Světlo ohně?" "Ha, how about Glimmer?" "Pfft, funny. Maybe have it sound less like a knock-off." "Isn't it though?" Viktor just frowns as an answer, "Ah, nevermind, your turn." "We're taking turns? In that case erm... Firelight?" "Wow... Give us away why don't you?" "...Oh." Both just laugh as they exchange more ideas, each getting rejected and sounding more ridiculous until Viktor suddenly blurts out, "Aurora..." "Hm?" "What about 'Aurora' as a name for this creation?" Ekko hums in thought, "Well... It's definitely subtle enough for it to not give us fully away and still short enough of a name... What prompted it though?" Viktor looks wistfully at an old photo of his parents, "My mother... That was her name. She told me once that it was actually Latin for 'dawn' and that the dawn or even the sun itself can represent new beginnings or even hope... And this..." He gestures to the glowing bright yellow vial, "Reminds me of the sun... Or at least from what could see of it from the Fissures... And considering that I decided to develop it to heal and perhaps help the people under our care then... It just feels right maybe, like she's still there... Like they're both still there..." Ekko was quiet throughout the explanation, no joke or anything on his mind except empathy as he places a hand on Viktor's shoulder with a smile, "I think it works. Really." "You think so?" "Yeah! Let's try that and we'll go from there alright?" Viktor gives a smile of his own, "Alright, 'Aurora' then..."

A quick aesthetic board of the concoction Viktor creates in "Herald of the Firelights" in order to counter Shimmer which he names, "Aurora" after his mother. Like Shimmer, it does have a drawback or two.

General info:

Aurora

Developed by Viktor on the side after trial and error in order to help and even heal the people they take in as he can only do so much with his own healing magic.

It's generally not meant to be a cure all but rather an aid of sorts. It can help with injuries but not much else such as illness.

It can be applied orally, physically (such as an injury), and/or via injection.

Viktor uses some on himself but not to a severely harmful degree save for one moment where he gets careless with it. He primarily uses it to power his own custom brace which also gives injections to his leg like Sevika's arm. This helps his mobility for a short period of time while out with the Firelights. It does seem to help his lungs a bit too but not entirely as it can only do so much.

Pros: Healing agent/aid, can help with some injuries, helps with Shimmer addiction, not super addicting compared to Shimmer.

Cons: Can cause a burnout if used too much, especially in rapid succession. Said burnout can turn fatal if not stopped and tended to asap. Sadly doesn't cure Grey Lung Disease or other certain illnesses.

Color: Yellow, notably a brighter shade. Like Shimmer, it does change eye colors a bit. Veins can turn a shade of yellow as well. It also starts to effect Viktor's magic as it starts out blue in color but then changes to green the more he uses it along with his developing connection to the tree.

Viktor's magic can enhance the healing effects of it depending on the situation.

The yellow flower briefly showcased in "Pretend Like It's The First Time" along with Canon!Sky's notes on the plant is the key ingredient for it. Viktor and Ekko were able to find a hidden field of them thanks to this AU Sky's help/contributions and suggestion when Viktor started feeling stuck (she had been studying them for a while and showcased her notes to him once she felt more confident). The trio (along with an additional Firelight if need be) would visit it to either retrieve some, have a moment of quiet, or both.

Viktor does ask Sky about including her name/crediting her for her help which she does accept but does lightly tease him about the name kind of indicating enough of her involvement (thanks @cutesylittledemon for mentioning that in the replies ^_^) in the project besides the personal sentiment behind it ("You said Aurora meant dawn right? And considering that it takes place in the sky, well..." "...O-Oh! Fair enough then. Truly you are the light of our darkest hour Sky!" "Oh very funny!")

Due to fears of it being misused, Viktor refuses to take it outside the hideout nor share it with anyone living outside it unless Ekko and, later he, absolutely trusts them enough.

Wowwww... Thinking about how I'm gonna end the first part of my Herald of the Firelights fic in the ending of S1 and how I'm gonna do the S2 opener made me realize that holy cow I'm pretty sadistic with possible cliffhangers and stuff aren't I? 🤫

Ok then so... They ain't super perfect or good but this is the best way to demonstrate the possible colors for the concoction Viktor conjures up to counter Shimmer in Herald of the Firelights AU as well as act as fuel source for his own leg brace while on the move with the group. As I mentioned, I was thinking either a shade of yellow, green, or blue. I'm kinda leaning towards yellow for a lot of reasons I previously listed but I would love to hear thoughts!

I'll put a little thing here just in case but eh, that's optional (lasting for 3 days this time)! Replies are welcome!

(Wouldn't it be kinda neat and ironic if Vik's magic turns green the more he uses it if I chose yellow tho since I HC his natural magic being blue in color? Buuut I doubt it works like that so maybe not... XD)

That being said, feel like the yellow color (just the color) was done in other aus so that's why I felt hesitant but correct me if I'm wrong.
