"Acolyte" Michelangelo has joined the group chat
THANK U AGAIN TO @anixolt for accepting this commission request!!! Looks like 'Dino'-tello has unexpected company 👀
Hailing from his own alternate reality, "Acolyte" Mikey & his brothers had a very different childhood than the mad Dogs we all know and love. Set in a feudal Japan-esque world, Mikey and his brothers were raised under the Ninja Tribunal in a remote temple as future protectors of humanity...
However, fate was unkind to the lackadaisical Michelangelo who doubted the legend of the foretold 'Krang Invasion'-- let alone it happening much sooner than anticipated.
[link to twitter thread]
More lore below! (but heed the content warnings!!)
CW: implied family death, implied child abuse
Inspired by the 2003 "Acolyte" Arc, Mikey and his brothers were given to the Ninja Tribunal as children to raise as warriors on account of being gifted with mystic abilities; something very rare and unheard of in their universe.
Mikey was the most mystically inclined of his brothers. Because of this, he doesn't take training very seriously. He's also the oldest brother in his universe, but takes that role very, very seriously.
Splinter was their "father"... however, he was the one who gave them to the Ninja Tribunal. And they weren't exactly 'lenient' with children. Not when their purpose was to become warriors to defend the world.
Because of this, Mikey hates Splinter. With every fiber in his body.
But despite their upbringing, Mikey was fun and kind.
But homie cannot cook to save his life
However, due to events during the invasion... Mikey is the last man standing. On the whole planet.
And he Snaps
With elevated powers and grief, Mikey traverses the heavens to hunt Krang and their settlements.
He uses dried Krang blood as his mask, having lost his in battle (and Krang blood dries orange when oxidized)
He dots his yellow spots with a drop of Krang blood to mirror Krang eyes. Using mystic abilities, the faux eyes can move and "look" around too. Terrifying.
However, due to classic Hamato shenanigans— 'Acolyte' Mikey may find himself drawn to a very, very different place than a Krang settlement 👀👀👀

Sumi should've gotten a chance to lose her shit and lash out at Maruki. To tell him that erasing her identity and turning her into her sister made him no better than everyone else who kept comparing her achievements to Kasumi's and made her feel like she wasn't enough. That if he was truly wanting to make people happy, he would've brought Kasumi back instead of turning her into Kasumi. Instead he just proved to her that even he agreed that it would be better if Kasumi lived and that Sumire died.

okay so i was thinking of a joke earlier about how in DPDC Amity Park's slogan "a great place to live" is not only city propaganda but also the city lording it over the rest of America for being normal. But then I remembered that, despite how many DCU Cities with heroes in it there are, the amount of cities in America without heroes still far outnumber the amount of cities in America WITH heroes.
So I did a little digging so the joke would still land. Something most heroes have in common is that they operate in major cities. What makes a major city? I found that the general consensus is that the population is roughly over or around a million. THEN I looked up the populations of cities in the DCU that I thought of off the top of my head. So Gotham, Metropolis, Starling City, Central City, Jump City. All of them ranked up to millions in population (most of them were in the tens of millions).
Amity Park's wikipedia describes it as being similar to specifically Philadelphia, Chicago, and San Francisco.
Philadelphia's Population: 1.576 million as of 2021
Chicago's Population: 2.697 million as of 2021
San Francisco: 815,201 as of 2021
Whiiich means that Amity Park if we take that from canon, is probably a major city. There are approximately 19,000 cities in America with probably less than a hundred that are major cities. Adding the DCU major cities wouldn't skew the data too much.
Which MEANS that I can make the joke that Amity Park's "great place to live" is not only just typical city propaganda, but also its Amity Park lording it over the other major cities for being one of the only major cities that doesn't have problems bad enough to warrant a superhero or a vigilante. Cue stage left the Fentons and Phantom :)
Amity Parkers were probably SO proud that they didn't need a superhero. They didn't have to worry about things like 'world ending threats' and 'super-powered individuals' and 'staggering property damage'. And then enter Fentons.
It also could be used as an excuse for why nobody took notice to Amity Park getting ghosts if folks like me aren't huge fans of the notion of a media blackout via Tucker, Technus, or the US Government. Or if you want to keep Amity Park as its urban city self. Amity Park's news on ghosts gets drowned out in a week because there's news on more popular, well-known cities going on every other day. The shit going on in Amity Park is every other major city's regular Tuesday and it gets filtered as such.

Lloyd: Has anyone else ever felt the primal urge to scream so loud and from so deep that it rips your soul out of your body, but you won't do it because you don't want to disturb anybody?
Lloyd: Because I get that a LOT
Kai: Oh, yeah. 100%
Nya: All the time
Cole: A few times, yeah
Zane: Now that you mention it, possibly...?
Jay: You don't even know
Pixal: No...?
Pixal: Are you all okay?

Hi! Could I please get Sam going ape shit? I just think she should get to go ape shit.
Everyone was staring - bulging eyes, skin grey with terror, mouths open or hidden behind fingers like this was one of Josh's shitty horror movies - but she was looking, and she was seeing, and that's how she knew he wasn't going to do it.
Sam watched Mike's fingers tremble, watched the way his chest kept moving in great, uneven heaves, and at the very first sign of him faltering, she swooped in from the side and yanked the gun from his hands. There was a flurry of motion then, people shouting her name, Mike making as if to reach for what she'd taken, but for the very first time that night, a calm came over her; she knew what was going on now, she knew what she was doing, she knew precisely how the night was going to end, so long as the rest of them stopped messing things up for one goddamn minute.
That time, she pointed the gun at them - all four of them - ushering them deeper and deeper into the safe room despite their yells, their questions, their pleading eyes. "So here's what's going to happen," she said as she locked the door from the outside, forcing the padlocks unnecessarily if only so they'd all hear them click, "I'm going into the tunnel to get Josh and his key...then, I'm going to keep walking with him until I find Matt and Jess...then, I'm going to come back." She raised her eyes from the lock and, without looking, flicked the gun's safety on and slid it into her hoodie, offering the lot of them a chilly smile as she continued, "Whether or not I let you guys back out is suuuper up in the air right now, so if I were you, I'd sit down in a nice, quiet circle and have a nice, quiet conversation until I got back - sound doable, you think?"
six sentence sat(or)sunday!!!
