so i still haven't been writing much, the drawing haze is real man but here have some of the fwb buddie fic that i'm pretty sure i've already shared so weee! see it again!

Buck did a double take when he saw the pancake mix and said, “Absolutely not. I don’t even know why you have that, Eddie. If we’re making pancakes we’re doing it the proper way, from scratch.”

“But that’ll take longer,” Eddie groaned. “I’m hungry.”

“Good things take time,” Buck scolded, before pulling out the ingredients to make pancakes from scratch.

Now that the coffee had been poured Eddie took over, making them exactly like they liked them. Wordlessly he passed Buck his coffee and Buck hummed in thanks. Eddie took a seat the table and sipped his coffee while he watched Buck move around his kitchen with ease. God, this all felt so fucking domestic and Eddie loved it.

In no time Buck had whipped up enough pancakes for the two of them and they sat down to breakfast. “So, what do you want to do today?” Eddie asked. “I have to pick up Christopher from his friend’s tonight but we have the whole day.”

“That sounds good— oh shit, I just remembered I promised Maddie we would go to lunch,” Buck said apologetically, looking at Eddie with a pout on his lips. “We’ve been so busy lately I haven’t really seen her.”

“Oh,” Eddie tried not to let any of his disappointment show. “That’s okay! You guys have fun.”

“Do you want to come?” Buck asked, pulling out his phone. “I can check with Mads to see if that’s okay.”

“No, no, don’t worry about me,” Eddie waved him off. “You two need some sibling time together.”

i've been so used to the online space where if you like a series or fictional character that someone else hates they will openly berate you and cut you out of their life and tell you to Go Die so when i got into a thing that a friend really didn't like and their only reaction was "i do not like it" and left it at that with no over the top reaction or lecture on Why The Thing They Don't Like Is Bad, honestly i felt like i met god

Please stop publicly hating on fanfics. PLEASE!! Especially in a comment section of a video that’s about the fic or the fandom, because whether you’re aware of it or not, the author could have a social media account on that platform and see the hate. The hate on something they did for fun, for free. If you want more content then you have to stop hating. these authors aren’t celebrities they don’t have pr teams or people dealing with hate for them, they’re participants in fandom, and they’re real people.

Fanfics are not books, yes some are amazing enough to be, but you do not buy them, they’re provided to you for free. A fanfiction being popular is not like a book you bought sitting on your shelf, you should not feel obligated to read it because you spent money on it. Because you didn’t. it’s free. Fanfics no matter how popular should not be treated and reviewed like books, you do not get to publicly criticise or say “how are people buying this?!” Because they’re not. It’s free. It doesn’t matter if you think it’s overrated, it’s something someone did for fun, and you don’t get to criticise that, especially because it’s public for you to read!! Don’t be mad that something’s overrated, be glad that it was even up in the first place, someone could have easily just left it as a draft and never posted it, but they did. They decided to share this piece of themselves, to the fandom for anyone to read and that is a gift.

Ao3 is an uncensored website for fanfics, you can write about literally anything. And yet I see “no don’t read that fic it’s problematic!!” In a comment section. Fanfiction is not censored, if you want morals and every character being perfect and making the ‘right’ choices, then get off ao3. Also reminder that an author can write characters making decisions that they don’t agree with, for depth of the story. Just because your favourite character, that you see as the pinnacle of righteousness, makes a bad decision or says something mean does not make the story bad or problematic. It also doesn’t make the author agree with that decision. All the time authors of published books write about morally grey characters or villains. But when an ao3 author does it all of a sudden they must have committed the war crimes that they wrote their villain to commit. Do you realise how stupid that sounds?? 😭

Also don’t post vague negative videos about something/someone even if you don’t say who or what it’s about, it leads the comment section to gossip about who they hate and that’s just not cool. And tagging the fandom that they’re in??? 90% of the time they’re going to see that.

Public hate is not cool, if you don’t like someone, talk to you friends about it if you’re craving other peoples validation so badly. You don’t need to post something publicly. And I know hate gets more popular then love in fandom, no matter if it’s headcanons or fics or creators, but that doesn’t make it good. I don’t know why people are so negative all the time, like I don’t care what headcanons you hate, why do you even spend that much time thinking about something you hate?? I want to hear what headcanons you like, I want to know you fav characters, your kins, literally anything.

Sorry this is so long, it just pisses me off to see a fun video about fandom and then I open the comments and it’s filled with hate. This is a fandom, have fun with it!!! Please. 😭

Overall I do think things would've gone significantly better for Martha if Donna had accepted the first offer she got from The Doctor and been in season 3. Donna would absolutely be the Number One member of the Martha defense club and would've constantly been like "SHE'S SO FUCKING COOL AND BRILLIANT AND SMART AND BEAUTIFUL AND IF YOU DON'T CHEER AND CLAP FOR HER I'M BLOWING UP THIS BUILDING" like Donna IS her living breathing hypeman. Also I think Donna would've killed the master so that whole year that wasn't? Never happened.

That being said. Rip to Martha Jones because I think she would've had a disaster bisexual moment where on either side of her is an incredibly attractive person that is ruthlessly teasing her for her crush on the other. Neither of them have figured out she has a crush on them. She is not subtle about it.

to me, their romance was always a puppy love born out of a combination of social pressures, naïve curiosity, and a lack of true understanding regarding intimacy and romantic love and what it really is. it was real in that they do truly, deeply care about each other and they are close friends, maybe even shared an attraction, but a maturing romance is so much more than that. they've grown up and out of being boyfriend/girlfriend, and that's okay! i think television/film needs to show more often that most of us don't have definite "soulmates" or first childhood loves that we spend our whole lives with. it doesn't mean these relationships meant nothing and didn't impact us, it just means they've run their course and that something else is in the cards, and this is part of life!

i've always felt el was at her best and most confident self when broken up with mike, discovering who she was and what she liked alongside another girl her age instead of just relying on mike for mentorship on how to live in the real world. she deserves more of an opportunity to find herself, her autonomy, and her independence, and to love who she is, and she's made it clear she's felt insecure in the relationship with mike because she isn't being loved and understood the way she wants, needs, and deserves from someone who is her partner.

also, it's okay if mike doesn't love her in "the way he should". he is not obligated to love her romantically and stay in a relationship with her just because she's a girl, because she "needed someone", or because he cares about her a lot. he shouldn't be pressured into a romance if it's not truly coming from his heart. he deserves freedom to find out and honour who he is, too, instead of just staying in his non-functional first relationship — one he got into as a child, essentially — and defining himself that way because it's what's expected when a boy and a girl are close. he loves her in some way, yes, but it's okay if he doesn't feel comfortable or secure being her boyfriend anymore, for whatever reason that is. he's felt insecure too, and that's valid and it matters.

they are their own people and are steadily growing and changing every day. they need time to figure out who those people are, and it's become clear (at least in my opinion) that those people aren't meant to be a couple at this stage.

they deserve freedom. they deserve to grow up and be authentic to themselves and not feel like they need to lie for the sake of a relationship. they deserve to move on from this version of their relationship that isn't making them happy and rekindle the best part of their bond: their strong, beautiful friendship. they don't have to be a couple if it doesn't make them stronger and better and happier people.

i think it would be healthy and wonderful for a show, especially one consumed frequently by young adults, to show a relationship starting, progressing, and ending on good terms in this way. sometimes things don't work out, and that is okay.

Hey not to be a person with opinions who sticks to them (i know ugh right) but i liked what watcher was producing. The editing was crazy good the cinematography beautiful, all things i enjoyed much more than two boys sitting behind a desk. I have adhd bitch, half the time I'd zone out during bfu cus there was nothing but talking. Aint anyone the same so don't Speak For Me motherfucker. Weird and or Wonderful is a big budget project that I love. You can love the charm of youtube videos all you want, but I can like it when shit looks fucking clean, with great cinematography, and overarching plots/ideas. I guess y'all just weren't Watcher fans. Just bfu fans. And even then i think you just wanted a friend and projected that onto shane and ryan, lol

i was rereading through arlong park as you do, and remembering this moment gutpunched me. like i already know nami is dead-set on fixing everything alone and not asking for help because she's afraid of hurting the people she loves but like this is why

basically the last thing she did before being taken to join arlong's crew was ask for help. and even genzo, who's like a father to her, strong, and a leader, someone she trusts, was fucking powerless to do anything. this is what happens when you make other people help you, nami. this is what happens when you cry. if you want to save them you can't do that anymore. this arc is fucking insane (positive)

okay i think part of why people hate teruhashi and saikis dynamic and falsify reasons why they dont like each other at all is that they CAN tell that theres romance implied between them and so they take that and go "well i dont like the ship therefore theres nothing good about this dynamic and they shouldnt even interact" or something

but you guys dont get it... people who are in love can be friends... they can have friendships... you can be friends with someone youre in love with, you can STAY friends with someone youre in love with, you can be friends and ONLY friends with someone youre in love with FOREVER...

its also cool if you dont interpret them as implied romantic but if you dont then you still have to acknowledge that they ARE friends. theyre friends and they care about each other and you cant stop that.

Just saw an interesting point discussing how authors often come back to the same themes and things over their body of work...

...and I want to let everyone know, again, that Christopher Paolini, the Eragon guy, has now written two of his big resolutions as this:

A) Character tenderly reflects on the precious value of life, and is moved to tears by their desperate desire to protect it in all its forms

B) ATOMIC BOMB.
