Babysitting (Rhea Ripley x Reader One-shot)

Hey everyone!! Quick thanks again for all the love and support! You guys are awesome ❤️. This idea hit while spending time with my niece earlier this week. Hope you guys enjoy, criticism, tips, blah blah blah you guys know that whole deal. Happy reading everyone!! ❤️❤️

Warning's: None just pure fluff. S/n = Sister's name, sh/n = sister's husband's name, n/n = niece's name

"Sit Barry!" You told Barry so you could put his and Luna's food bowls down so they can eat, When he finally sat down you put down the food bowl's to which Barry started eating like he hasn't in a week, while Luna just ate slow and calmly unlike her brother.

"I swear your spoiled, the lot of you." You sat down at the kitchen table for a second when you heard your phone ringing, expecting it to be your lovely girlfriend calling to tell you she landed and she should be home soon.

What you didn't expect, was it to be a call from you sister, you couldn't help the confusing smile to break out on your face, that didn't stop you from picking up the phone, could've been a emergency for all you know.

"Hey sis, something wrong?" You asked with slight concern in your voice. "What i can't call my sister and see how she's doing!? haha!" You caught the somewhat nervous laugh at the end of that sentence.

"Is everything okay s/n?" You were now very concerned thinking the worst. "No no no, everything's okay, i just wanted to call and ask a favor, if that's okay?" You breathed a sigh of relief that it was nothing bad, but now you were curious.

"Shoot s/n, what's up?" You heard shuffling on the other line guessing she was moving around or something. "Me and sh/n got some ticket's to a music festival and we wanted to know if you would be okay to watch n/n? mom and dad are going out for their anniversary tonight and you the only other adult who i trust with her honestly."

You let a grin come across your face that would put the grinch to shame, you LOVED your niece and spending time with her was always fantastic, so you didn't even think twice with your answer. "Yeah i can watch her, what time should i expect you guys to come back and get her?" You asked as you got up to tiddy up the house a bit, wasn't messy but you just wanted to be safe.

You heard s/n let out a sigh of relief. "Hopefully we'll be able to get her before midnight, with traffic and stuff its hard to tell. Can i come drop her off say 4:00 or 4:30?"

You looked at the clock 3:34. "Yeah that should be good, see you in a bit sis! Love ya!" "Love ya too, see you in a bit!" You hung up the phone and quickly got to making sure the house was nice and clean for when your niece got here.

~ Time Skip ~

" Hey roadrunner!" You quickly picked up your niece as she ran at you at full speed, it was easy to see why you gave the 2 year old that nickname.

"Hi auntie!!" She practically yelled while repeated kissing your cheek while you were laughing. "Okay! Okay! I get it you love me!" You said and she finally stopped and just put her head in the crook of your neck while giggling.

"Hey y/n!" You looked up to see s/n and her husband looking at you two with smiles on their face's. "Hey guys! How you doing sh/n?" "Im good, just trying to keep track of these two crackhead's" He said as he pointed at your sister and niece, to which he promptly got hit in the arm for by your sister.

"Oh shut up you still love us!" "Damn right!" He replied as he kissed her cheek and you rolled your eyes. "What sis jealous~?" "No, you two are just ridicules with how lovey dovey you are." They both laughed at that.

"Where's rhea at anyway, working?" Your sister asked as your niece picked her head up from your neck. "Rhe rhe!?" She said excitedly looking around. To which all you laughed at her eagerness to see her aunti 'Rhe rhe'

"Auntie Rhe rhe ain't home yet roadrunner, she should be here soon tho." Her face quickly lit up in excitement at that. "Okay we gotta get going, here's a bag of stuff, just some clothes and toy's for her to keep herself occupied, call if you need us or if anything happens alright?"

"Yeah, yeah, yeah, go have a good time love bird's i got her!" You laughed to them. They quickly said by to n/n and gave her kisses and waved by as they pulled out of the driveway as you walked back into the house with your niece still in your arm's. "Wanna watch monster's inc?" You've never seen anyone nod their head as fast your niece.

~Time Skip~

You sat on the couch sending a video of n/n running around with Barry and Luna to s/n. You didn't know how a 2 year old could have this much energy.

Now your niece was cuddle up into your side out of breath from running around with the dog's and watched the movie that was coming to a close here soon.

You looked at the clock reading 5:17. Rhea should be home any minute now. You didn't think that rhea would be upset that you said yes to watch your niece without asking her first, she said wwe were giving her some time off cause of how hard she was working lately. So you have a few more days together just the two of you.

Just as that thought left your head, the front door opened . The dogs jumping from their spot on the floor, and Barry barking like a madman. N/n quickly got up from her spot against you on the couch to take a quick peek around the corner to see who it was.

"Hey! Easy Barry, watch the nail's dude. God I need y/n to remind me to cut your nail's tomorrow." "Rhe rhe!!" Your niece quickly ran at rhea, effectively latching herself on to her leg's.

"Hey koala!! What are you doing here?" She asked as she unlatched n/n from her legs to pick her up and hold her. "My sister and sh/n wanted to go to a music festival, they didn't have anyone else to watch her, sorry. She have asked you first." You said sheepishly as you rubbed your arm nervously.

Those nervs all disappeared as rhea planted a quick kiss on your lips. "Hey it's alright, I dont mind watching her, don't worry your pretty little head babe." She smiled at you to which you gave one back.

The nice moment was ruined when you heard a low growl and n/n grabbed her stomach. "Hungry!" She said while pointing at her stomach to which you and rhea both laughed at.

"Let me see what i can make for dinner." You turned to walk to the kitchen, but stopped when rhea lightly grabbed your waist to put her front to your back. "Hey it's alright babe, let's just order pizza." N/n quickly threw her arms up in the air yelling. "PIZZA!!!" You chuckled lightly. "Alright alright, pizza it is." Rhea pumped her fist with a quick and quiet "Yesss!" Then her and n/n high fived.

"I can't even with you two." You shook your head while laughing at them, as you left to get you phone to order. "You still love me babe!" She said to as you walked away. "Keep telling yourself that ripley!" You replied, before you turned the corner to head to the living room all you heard was a. "What!?" From rhea, which caused you to giggle lightly.

~Time Skip~

You threw n/n's shirt she got dirty while eat into the laundry, seriously you did not know how a kid can get so messy while eating pizza. After doing that you walked back into the living room to sit on the chair to which Luna immediately sat at your feet as 'Cars" was playing on the tv.

You looked over to the couch to see rhea laying down with n/n on her chest cuddling into her, to which you smiled and took a quick picture. Rhea heard the click of your phone and turned her head to see your phone pointed at her, to which you took another quick photo.

"That's my new home screen." You said while giggling, to which rhea only smiled while gently shaking her head turning back to the movie. N/n laughing and giggling quietly as the movie played.

~Time Skip~

You didn't know how long you closed your eyes for as you yawned to look at your phone, 9:56. You would think that s/n and sh/n would be on their way here soon.

You turned your head to see rhea and n/n in the same position as you saw them last but this time, they are dead asleep. You quietly adn quickly took a quick photo on your phone and you got up and grab the blanket from the back of the couch to put over them so they were extra warm.

Your phone quietly buzzed in your pocket and you pulled it out to see a text from your sister. S/n: 'Be there in 45 minutes to get her. Hope she was good?' You quickly sent her the pictures you took earlier while replying. Y/n: 'She was great.'

~ Last Time Skip (Sorry for all these) ~

When you heard the car pull into the driveway, you quickly picked up n/n's bag, which you packed up for her, and walked over to where rhea and n/n were sleeping on the couch.

You decided to try and get n/n out rhea's arm's without waking her, as she looked like she need the sleep after working so many days in a row.

As you got n/n out of rhea's grasp you saw her flutter open and look at you take n/n from her arms. "Sorry babe, s/n and sh/n are here to pick her up. I didn't wanna wake you."

She sat up while yawing. "It's okay y/n, here i got her." She quickly took n/n back as she walked towards the front door and quietly opened it and you followed her out and saw s/n standing there smiling.

"Hey rhea, sis. Thank you guys so much for watching her." She gently took n/n from rhea's arms and gave her n/n's bag. When you three heard a whine and look towards n/n.

"Hi momma." She cuddled into her mom's neck. "Hey sweetie. Have good time with auntie rhe rhe and y/n?" She asked while rubbing her back.

N/n let out a quiet 'Mhm' while nodding her head. She looked towards you and rhea and asked in her tired voice. "Can i come over again tomorrow?"

You and rhea both laughed lightly, rhea walked up her and gently rubbed her back while asking. "How about make a next weekend, Okay?" N/n excitedly shook her head yea while s/n laughed lightly.

"That's alright with me lemme talk with sh/n and we'll plan it?" "Sound's good!" You replied with a smile on your face. As they pulled out of the driveway you and rhea waved as they drove off.

You two went back into the house and started heading upstair's to your shared bedroom. "I didn;t know you loved babysitting so much rhe rhe~" You lightly teased her as you changed into your pj's.

"Only for that crazy koala." She replied with a smile on her face as she slid into bed, you not too long after her. "I prefer her nickname to be roadrunner." You said with a grin on your face.

"It is too damn late to get into an argument over her nickname, get some sleep." She told you while pulling you into her chest, and you did not have to be told twice.

You thought it was safe to say, that THE Rhea Ripley, The eradicator, LOVED being a babysitter.

Steve had a certain radar for things like this.

He’d experienced it himself before many a time, back in the day when King Steve ruled the hallways of Hawkins High and girls actually spoke to him and reciprocated his catty pick up lines. Some might dare to say he still reigned that title and expertise, some whose identities had yet to reveal themselves and not live in Steve’s imagination.

Regardless, he knew what was going on.

From the moment you two strode in five minutes past with downturned mischievous grins, giggling to each other while Keith frowned with arms crossed. 

“You’re late.”

“Yeah, yeah, we know.”

Robin dismissed him with a wave, not letting him continue his lecture as she hopped over to register. Your fingers moved to clock you both in, officially starting the shift and ignoring a looming Keith from across the counter.

Steve immediately saw the huff of composure you underwent, fingers shaking off imaginary weight and a short clear of your throat. A corner of his lip jutted up.

“What were you two up to all day?”

Robin spun around, always quick. “Why, did you miss us?”

“You wish.” 

When his eyes caught yours, you shrugged.

“We overslept.”

A quick glance to the clock. “It’s 2:00.”

"Whatever you say, mom."

Robin drawled while moving past him to restock. Steve points an accusatory finger to her back.

“I told you not to call me that!”

Bantering was normal of course, it was Steve and Robin. But it was a bit curious when there was silence over in your corner. Family Video wasn’t the most boring job in Hawkins, but it definitely didn’t serve up to par with the ever busy Starcourt Mall. Responsibilities didn’t range more than a three person job, so why you remained quieter than usual the whole shift was…strange. 

Standing at his car door, watching you cackle with Robin from your driver's side, as if nighttime had finally awakened your energy, he scoffed.

Huh.

“Eww. Ew ew that’s so euugh!”

“It's not that bad! I feel like we’ve watched way worse.”

Jeff Goldblum’s overwhelming transformation from human to fly sounded gross in mere description, but to actually watch it play out on screen was a whole other thing. Robin watched completely unfazed, popping a kernel of popcorn in her mouth while you cringed into the safety of your sweatshirt sleeves. Sprawled on your bed with blankets and pillows, the room dark with the exception of the tv, the shift at Family Video had been murdered on carpet floor at the hands of the easily discardable teal vest adorning your nametags.

Robin’s shoulder bumped yours. “It’s kind of romantic actually. In a tragic, disgusting way.”

“How is this at all romantic. I’d be traumatized, why isn’t she running away!”

“Because she loooves him.”

“But he’s a- oh god.”

These effects had to be illegal. Whoever allowed this grim, melting skin effect had to be clinically morbid. 

“So what, if I turned into a fly you would leave me?”

Robin’s question aimed itself with an outstretched palm. 

“I don’t know! That’s a very unlikely situation so I don’t know what I’d do,”

“So you’d leave me.”

You shoved her shoulder off yours. “Noo shut up, I don’t think I would. I’d try to, or I would, arghh!”

Robin’s laughter bounced off the walls as her head fell back onto your shoulder blades, body buckling over you with squinted eyes. The palms of your hands muffled your smile and warming face, giggles bubbling through the cracks of fingers. It was always like this with her, neverending joy and light hearted jokes. You loved it, you loved her. 

Regaining her breath, the girl above you sighed, reopening her eyes to contemplate the ceiling. Her hands drummed at her ribcage as she stared, her eyebrows faintly drawing together in thought.

“...If you turned into a fly, I wouldn’t leave you.”

It grabbed your attention with a jolted heartbeat. It was a joke, but serious too. Her voice lowered and steadied itself, as if she were confessing a dark secret instead of referring to a theoretical scenario. The corners of your smile raised with your pulse. 

“...I wouldn’t leave you, either.”

Her freckles beamed. Right in front of her eyes, the ceiling danced with stars and interlocked hands, the plethora of what if’s and jokes she had the opportunity to throw on you to follow that statement. 

But she just smiled, and the ceiling smiled back.

YOU DIDNT ASK so im sorry in advance (especially because i wont be explaining this well) But. ill be so honest i dont think the t-shirt kon is bad in a vacuum like it could be cute 😭 i do think its genuinely kinda fun when the characters wear their own little merch. the t-shirt outfit is even kind of funny because hes literally just wearing a t-shirt and jeans 😭 i love kon no matter what!!

but in the context of the transition from young justice (the comic) and the gang "graduating" into the teen titans (vol.3) i feel like it was a regression for him. idk i read into kon and transness+being lgbt too much so ive seen interpretations of it being his internalized homo/transphobia because its also a time where he has a secret identity for the first time in small-town america... and i do enjoy that, but it was Not intended by the writes (especially considering who was writing him in the mid-late 2000s)

kon's character to start off is really about identity and the reclamation of it when he was intended to be a Thing, and how he struggled under the weight of acting like he thinks he should/expectations placed on him (especially because he did not have an alternate identity or a name at first, he was just superboy. THEN kon el and conner kent) and how he expresses himself by replacing a tag cadmus put on him with a gold earring and generally dressing in a flashy and flamboyant and alternative way

so then when we transition to the teen titans kon, they sort of......strip him of that expression of personality. hes put in a t-shirt and jeans. they take away his earring. hes put in a relationship w/ cassie sandsmark (who btw. is very wlw coded to match him in the YJ comic, and both of their designs suffered what we call the cishetifcation) that is ultimately so bad for their characters (meanwhile kon is written into the most gay coded friendship w/ tim drake for like. a decade.)

and the young justice cartoon is an adaptation that was attempting to take the teen titans run from the 80s i believe? and young justice 98-2003, AND the 00's teen titans run. (decades of story to work with and way too many characters and groups, leads the cartoon to, in my opinion, suffer from a too many cooks situation)

and it does not handle kons character very well at all either </3 AND they used the t-shirt design while sticking him in a very unhealthy relationship w/ a character hes never really interacted w/ much in the comics. so umm. TL;DR very mixed feelings on t-shirt conner

i do recommend reading young justice though <3 (AND IM GLAD YOU LIKE MY DESIGN !! tysm <333 the curly hair is a must <3) sorry for the essay i just wanted to expand on why i put the t-shirt boy in the "sigh" categories 😭

ah, when i said i liked t-shirt conner, i didn’t mean the outfit, i was specifically referring to the young justice cartoon’s characterization ^^; i do acknowledge that it was a mixed bag that was forced to cherrypick years of history as an adaptation, and i get why conner fans don’t see him as Their Conner, but i’m gonna be so real with you. i liked him a lot in the cartoon 😭 as a standalone show, the first season does a rly good job of letting you understand his struggles and thought process, there were a lot of moments that endeared me to his angst while also letting him still feel like a kid. but i think i’m also biased towards characters that default to anger as a trauma response (completely unrelated to recent events believe it or not! wacky coincidence tho! foreshadowing even…?)

conner and m’gann’s relationship was def not the most interesting to me, but it’s also not the worst one. i have other biases against. other couples. but i’m curious to see how it develops bc unhealthy or not, i wanna see how it affects the characters, ykwim? like i’m not in it for the shipping, even if we All know there’s a better conner ship U__U

idk i just feel worn out by comics cynicism bc while i get it (i’m a hal fan, by god do i get it), i also don’t want to treat anything in dc too sacred. it’s more fun for me personally to view new iterations/adaptations as puzzles to work out rather than view them as character assassinations if even that. there are some truly unsalvageable things out there, but i generally think there’s smth good to gain in everything. and the young justice cartoon gave me a t-shirt conner to gain in my heart, so i can’t fault his character change too much as drastic as it is

all of this to say tho: the alt look is obviously superior. NOTHING beats a cropped jacket <3

too damn true!!! i also feel like with ur last point that ppl dont seem to remember as easily compared to previous times? for instance whenever theres a "new" tiktok trend i look at it and realise its not actually "new" just something that the newer generations seem to think they created or made it new again.

its like kids or teens nowadays are so focused on their online life that they forget things have been done before in a less than new way so to see aesthetics that have been around long before thenselves come back as an aesthetic more than a lifestyle baffles me. particularly with y2k, not only do the 00s feel too long ago ngl we had so much good stuff but its like if you search it on youtube all ppl say is how trashy it was just because they didnt live in the era of it or they put an importance of aesthetics without realising they really wouldnt cope without the internet but its more so they prefer how something looks from that era, than anything else, i dont think anyones whos chronically online (myself included) would realistically want to have zero internet in current times it really gives fomo honestly its so bad.

if u arent doing what everyone else is doing its so bad making us feel further behind bc time aint slowing down for nobody. we 30 somethings had a lot too but i feel that gen z just dont realise the difference in society between then and now and it seems vastly different i cant explain it? thats why i feel like we were in some sort of time alteration device in or around 2019 cause nothings felt normal since then and even ppls behaviours and just the way they "think" has been altered so much and it always has to accomodate to whatever is going on both online and irl, the fact we have to try to mentally separate the online version from our physical selves is bonkers. thats whag i mean its totally different and idk if its a good kind of different or bad. im even seeing this crop up with new generation kpop groups and my faves ultimately they still are very much chronically online even if they are on a break. its actually hard to keep up with this stuff going on all the time hbu?

that reminded me of the whole baggy jeans & flared jeans trend and how my mom told me that these jeans used to put a chokehold on them back in the 90s lol. we be following the 3 Rs rules 😆 : reduce , reuse , recycle.

well.. if the shoes fit , fits them 🤷‍♀️ and the majority of teens are usually in their experimenting phase wherein they get to try new things that they're curious about. been there , done that ◔_◔ an example would be my little brother who's in his mid-teen years. he's experimenting with some clothes and would mix n match them cuz it's "trendy". i find his fashion questionable because of the layered tops and pants he's wearing 😭 like bro it's freakin hot outside and you're going to wear that ?? tho i'm not gonna stop him , letting him explore and find his niche (˘̩̩̩ε˘̩ƪ)

you know the whole "emo phase" back in the early 2000s and how people would throw shade on it ? well surprise surprise cuz tara yummy , johnnie guilbert , and jake webster are trending , and how their goth / emo fashion is making its way on trends.

gen z's are individuals who aren't afraid to express their opinions and are pretty much self-aware as to what's going on in this world. i find it admirable because their voices are being used to change the current societal expectations of what the govt or any politician had established.

i do feel that the whole pandemic was a major catalyst for all of us and how everything seems to be happening too fast. but i kid you not with this one cuz some of the millennials and gen x peeps i know irl has been noticing how we gen z's have no presence in mind and that we have short attention spans 😭

well , they're right with that one cuz i noticed it from my blockmates , the younger students , and my skibidi toilet siblings. and you shouldn't feel bad about not being able to catch up cuz i'm on the same page as you lmao ( T_T)＼(^-^ ) i had no idea what a "fanum tax" meant not until my little brother who's a gen alpha told me its meaning 💀 there's a new wave of slangs too and how i was left in confucius at first but i got a hold on it over time.

lmao just the first chapter of a story i started writing in 5th grade. ngl i actually tried on it and im thinking of just posting here so I can make fun of it with people

Bright lights filled my vision as I opened my eyes. I had no idea where I was. As I looked around, I could see strange machines surrounding me. Where was I? Where was my sister? All I remember was tackling my mother to the ground with a knife in my hand. I looked down at my hands and gasped. Blood covered them. It was thick and hot, although it was starting to crust over because it was drying. The curtains surrounding my bed were yanked open by a man in scrubs. My stare was icy cold as he walked toward me. 

“W-who are you?” I managed to croak out,”Where a-am I?”

He ignored me, and continued to walk my way. On his way over he grabbed a small metal object with spikes on each side. He flipped a switch and electricity cackled, ready to electrocute its victim. I don’t know how, or when, I started crying. It dripped down my face and eventually made its way to my chin. My heart pounded, and my body froze up. It was like someone had grabbed me by the shoulders and pinned me down to my bed. When he got to my bedside, he reached down. Sparks neared my bare flesh as I could feel myself heating up. The machine touched my skin, and everything went dark.

I woke up in a cold sweat, panting and shivering. I guess it was just a nightmare, yet it felt so real. I could still remember the stinging pain in my arm, the doctor's cold hands gripping my bare wrist. I glanced at my small, homemade clock that stood in the corner of my room.  6:44. I glanced out my window and at the rising sun. Groaning in exhaustion, I pulled myself together and climbed out of my bed. I didn’t have school until 8:00 fortunately, which means I’ll have enough time to actually eat breakfast today. Sluggily, I moved downstairs and threw open the kitchen cabinets. I prepared myself a small plate of fresh raspberries and cereal, then made my way back to my bedroom and got dressed. 

Kingston Academy wasn’t normal, in fact, no one there was normal either. Luckily, we have no uniforms, or else everyone there would be dead by dawn. As I walked down the rickety path I could feel eyes burn holes on my back. I’m not exactly welcomed in town after what happened involving my mother. I was known as the psychopath of Otago. Fitting. Sometimes-when I would least expect it-I would stare at the countless rows of people lining the streets and imagine their deaths in imaginative and brutal ways. Snapping out of it, I ignored their stares and trudged on. I could see the three metal spokes peaking out above the tree line signaling I was nearing my destination. 

“You alright there mate? You caused quite a stir a few minutes ago, why don’t we walk together and you can explain why everyone watches you like you’re a madman, eh?”

His name was Oliver Wilson, 4 grades older than me. He was on the school soccer team. Popular, and most likely arrogant. What he wants from me? No idea! Honestly, the dude just doesn’t shut up, but he won’t tell me anything. 

“And I see you walking down the street and I’m li-” 

“Ok one, what do you want with me and two, if you don’t answer in five seconds you’re dead,” I deadpanned.

“Jesus christ! You sure are feisty,” he preached, staring down at me,”Honestly, I’m just curious why people seem to hate you so much. You seem nice enough.”

Nice? Really? I’m pretty sure no one I knew would call me “nice”, even if I were their friend. I looked up at him then noticed the time. I was late! Not that I cared, I skip school on a regular basis and no one seems to notice. I guess the case was different with ol’ Oliver here.

“Ugh, time really flies when I’m with an aggressive 14 year old girl. See ya, Dahlia!” he called as he raced down the dirt path. I chuckled for the first time in months and turned around, my desire to learn gone. 

The walk home felt longer than usual, more lonely. Marlene was supposed to call today, she had a falling out with her boyfriend, Patrick. The foul git. If I were there when it happened I would shove that fake blonde weave up his-. Well anyway, at least he’s gone. My sister would call me and explain all about the terrible things he did to her, and I would grow angrier by the second. My hands clenched into fists, and a flush rose to my cheeks. The same people I saw earlier watched me in fear, one teenage boy even shouting out,”Oh no everyone! Better watch out, the Psychopath of Otago is angry!” So he wants to see me mad? Bad idea buster. 

“Oi, shut it!” I announced, silencing his mocking tones. The crowd backed away as I walked toward the rebel. His eyes grew wide, and he started trembling. 

“Oh yeah?” he questioned,”Or what?”

My pupils darkened as he took a step forward. An inch, another inch, until we were nose to nose. I studied him carefully. Round, shiny nose. Dark curly hair. He would’ve been attractive if he wasn’t so annoying. I made the first hit,  colliding my right hand to his defined nose. His head snapped back, and he groaned in pain. We both stepped away and circled each other. I studied his movements carefully. His left hand was at the ready, signaling  he was a lefty. His nose was gushing blood, and the skin around it was flushed red. 

“Come on then, you asked for this, so come and get it,” I taunted, light on my feet. That must’ve erupted some type of fire in him, because when I was least expecting it, he rammed into my stomach. My body struggled for a gasp of air as his muscular arms encircled me. I managed to fight my way out of his iron grip and hook my foot around his ankle. Flipping him over, I grabbed the pocket knife I always kept on me. I leaned to the side of his head to whisper in his ear as I held the knife to his throat.

“Next time, pick a fight with someone you can handle.”

I'm having an issue brewing a specific coffee which I didn't have problems with in the past. Curious of everyones take on what happened? Problem with this roast? User error? Something else?

I'm having an issue brewing a specific coffee which I didn't have problems with in the past. Curious of everyones take on what happened? Problem with this roast? User error? Something else? So to begin with I'm just curious of anyones take on what happened here. So feel free to drop a comment/suggestion of what you think is the cause or issue? I'm adding photos as well. One is of the same coffee but different roast dates, with the left coffee being the older one with no issues and the one on the right being the recent coffee I've been having trouble with. The other photo is just the coffee Im having trouble with.Note: Originally I assumed it had to be user error or this coffee is an outlier but now I have no clue what the issue was. Maybe something went wrong with the coffee during storage at this time, or the roast was done wrong (which I cannot tell from looking at but I will post photos of the coffee I'm having trouble brewing and the same coffee from a month before which does not have these issues), or possibly an issue with the roaster itself at this time. So please any advice or help would be greatly appreciated.So, there's a roaster in New York (where I live) who I am a huge fan of. They have several amazing naturals they roast that have a great fruity flavor. But I bought one recently that I have been having massive trouble brewing. I use a plastic V60, brown filters, brew 20 grams and 1:15-1:16 ratio. Best time I found on this coffee specifically is usually around 2:45-2:55. I have a niche grinder and typical grind for this brew set up is between 37 and 42 on the dial.This coffee though at around that grind originally came to approximately 2:00 and it tasted weak. I ended up having to go to 23 on the Niche to get this coffee to brew at 2:30 and even then it had that fruity note but it was very harsh/sharp if you understand what I mean. Also in feeling the ground coffee at 23 it is a lot finer than I have ever used for a pour over.Originally i thought the issue might be the grinder and I took it a part, cleaned it and recalibrated the Niche, but nothing changed.Just want to step back a second and provide as much information as possible for anyone to help limit any questions of factors. So the coffee was roasted on February 21st, my first brewing of this coffee was on March 4th until today March 11th. Also, I'm using boiling water - 212 degrees F.So now today Im having the same issues again with this coffee and ended up giving up and brewing a different coffee from another local roaster. That different coffee followed the usual patterns including the typical grind dial that I usually use which suggests to me that theres something off with this natural coffee. Further, in thinking over what happened, I swore I had enjoyed this coffee before without these issues. Ended up going through my little stash of older bags that barely have any coffee left and turns out I have this same coffee roasted from January 16th.I brewed that coffee under my usual guidelines but just a little finer at 38, and it worked pretty well. Tastes a lot better than this new coffee.So if anyone knows what happened? Why would the same coffee, thats supposed to be roasted pretty much the same have a such massive changes to it. I'm very consistent with my brewing, grind sizes, amount of water, etc. so this shouldn't factor in. If anyone knows or has an idea/suggestion please let me know. If so, I would be curious on what your take on the relationship between Tech and Crosshair is? Evidence gathered from Tech in the latest episode, when he gives Omega Cross' comm cuff, makes it seem like he misses Cross a lot... and I rarely ever see much between these two and what they think/feel about each other? (Obviously only platonically, though....)

Do you think they get along? Just curious, and I'm fine with headcanons or a prompt or anything of the like... I just find their relationship one that is unknown... but... suggested? Tech loves his brothers and he sounded and looked quite sad about the fact Cross wasn't with them in Rampage.

Sorry for rambling, I get carried away thinking about these brothers!

crosshair and tech- a mini analysis

did i take this as an opportunity to rewatch the clone war's bb arc and the available episodes of tbb? yes.

here are some moments i picked out that i really thought about. i agree its evident that tech misses crosshair even if its in fleeting moments- and he probably feels guilty for not picking up the signs.

below the cut I've written about some of my thoughts about the relationship with accompanying drabbles, 4 of them, with 100 words each, that i imagine communicates how i view their relationship.

tech and crosshair's introduction: cw s07e01 at 00:06:05

i always loved how this scene was written; it flowed naturally and communicated their team dynamic really well without any action. tech is especially talkative as pointed out by hunter, who then goes to say that crosshair is 'not much of a conversationalist.' on the surface, it seems that tech and crosshair are incompatible, and probably don't get along. id argue that crosshair gets along most with wrecker, who even then, he dismisses or derides at times; 'grow up, wrecker' or the snarky 'well, im convinced' in the cafeteria scene...

so yeah, i imagine that crosshair has the least amount of patience with tech's incessant rambling, but when hunter introduces the batch, and crosshair is off to the side while the other three talk to cody and rex, we can see crosshair likes to observe. he's not one to talk to tech, but that doesn't mean he doesn't listen. also i really like the idea of tech's talking lulling crosshair to sleep, especially since snipers are taught to be emotionally distant (from what I've heard) and young crosshair must have felt so alone :(((((...

drabble:

'you're holding it wrong'

crosshair, struggling to sleep, turns to glare at tech through the dark room, his brother's face illuminated as he reviews training footage.

'your rifle, you-'

'what do you know about using a rifle?'

'more than the kaminoans, who do not know how to use rifles. they only know how to use blasters.' when crosshair doesn't answer, tech continues, 'its the way you pick it up and carry it. if you hold it against your arm...' he rambles on, only stopping once he hears his brother begin to snore.

he smiles, switching off the datapad, 'goodnight crosshair.'

okay who didn't love this crosshair moment, it was so unbelievably badass and hot, and him resting the rifle on tech made me so soft. not to mention the fact that he didn't need to use tech as support (HAHA LMAO TECH SUPPORT) as he's seen using the protruding red thingy from his left shoulder for that. though there may be some advantage to that, i.e crosshair and tech both being 6'4 (aka my tall husbands).

for me this scene just spoke VOLUMES about tech's trust for crosshair. no doubt tech trusts the others, but crosshair being...crosshair, i wouldn't blame someone if they had jumped or flinched if a calculating sniper placed a rifle on their shoulder. [edit: also the little tilt of tech's head as crosshair does it abevksbvkjasbjcbKJas its so cute]

but i cant help but imagine how this played out the first time...

drabble:

'stand up.'

crosshair is looming over tech, pulling his focus from his brother's training. 'what?'

'stand up, i wanna see something.'

tech reluctantly stands up, facing crosshair.

crosshair looks him up and down, eyes filled with the same cynicism they always carried. 'turn around'

tech huffs, proceeding to do so, 'i do not understand what you w-'

and then he feels a weight on his shoulder, eyes bulging out of his goggles as they meet the barrel of crosshairs rifle.

'trust me?'

tech slowly nods.

he feels the jolt of the rifle and sees the hole in the target. bullseye.

c'mon first tech's shoulder and now echo's??? idk its so fucking soft. the way crosshair shows his care for his brothers is really subtle and a little hard to detect, but this moMENT was everything. not only that, but echo's a reg, and i think here, when crosshair places his hand on echo's shoulder, it is out of respect but also a protective instinct.

echo's been through some shit but keeps fighting, he's now 'more machine than man' but still so in tune with his humanity-- in the same way that tech may not be as brutally strong but he keeps fighting anyways, that is his true strength. and that's what crosshair admires the most about tech (at least in my head), not his intelligence, but his willingness to fight alongside his brothers even where he doesn't have the same physical capabilities. (he could 100% top me though and id let him).

drabble:

tech slows down to a stop in front of the bad batch. he had been the one to collect the intel, the only one with knowledge to get past the system's mainframe.

'clankers, a whole group of them are headed our way.'

hunter nods at his brothers, giving orders, 'crosshair, watch our backs, wrecker, with me' before running to face the oncoming droids.

crosshair looks to his brother, 'tech, start the ship'

'but-'

'don't worry about us, we'll be fine'

trusting crosshair's words, he turns to head towards the marauder.

'oh and tech,' crosshair calls out, 'you did good today.'

tech's looks of concern™: bb s01e01 at 00:17:10 and 00:18:11

my oh my the way tech looked at crosshair in these scenes had me so close to rushing to dave filoni's door to demand he tell me what his plans were for my murder toothpick husband.

in contrast to hunter who outwardly questions 'what's wrong with you' and echo saying 'wake up' or 'stow it, crosshair', tech is much more subtle in his reactions to noticing crosshair's strange behaviour.

tech is unafraid of telling harsh truths, i.e telling echo he's 'more machine than man' or telling wrecker that his 'affinity for destruction...stems from [his] conditioning' but he doesn't point out his suspicions or concerns for crosshair, which is definitely something he should've done. but here, tech just observes crosshair--and that seems to be the basis of their relationship. **definitely related to the first point i made. and i think the dynamic works, crosshair doesn't really speak, aside from snide remarks here and there, and tech tries to figure him out like a puzzle.

i think tech can read crosshair better than any one of the bad batchers, and can probably identify when crosshair is on edge or anxious. that being said, when crosshair goes all order 66, the reason tech doesn't fully anticipate whats going on with his brother is because it's not his brother.

drabble:

'what are you looking at?' crosshair sneers, flitting his toothpick to the other side of his mouth.

'why do you chew on toothpicks?'

the sniper turns to walk away, ignoring the question. tech follows him.

'it is because of your anxiety, no?' he persists, taking advantage of their current privacy.

crosshair stops in his tracks, turning his head to the side.

'my what?'

'your anxiety. you are jittery before missions—though that does not affect your marksmanship—you get constant headaches, struggle to fall asleep...'

crosshair looks at tech, a sad smile on his face, 'maybe it is my anxiety.'

hyunjin would probably noticed the panicked look in her eyes and wondered why

since his friends like felix and...jisung...and seungmin are like on good terms with her

he probably wondered about it a lot

borderlines on overthinking since both felix and jisung are particularly close to her

so she should know that he’s friends with them

ever since that encounter, it would come across his head whenever he saw her hanging out freely with felix or jisung or both of them

or when he come across her in the hallways

sometimes he wants to greet her but it feels like it would scare her away

esp when she looks ready to run into the opposite direction

maybe sometime in the near future, a long-awaited hug would be great

ok, so the basic premise of the original trilogy (episode vi: a new hope, episode v: the empire strikes back, episode vi: return of the jedi) is the galaxy is under the rule of the evil galactic empire and its only opposition is a group of freedom fighters called the rebel alliance. a farm boy, luke skywalker, who is revealed to be a jedi, a person capable of using the force and wielding a lightsaber, becomes a jedi knight in his quest to aid the rebellion in defeating the empire once in for all. as the series progresses it's revealed that luke's father is actually the emperor's apprentice, formerly known as anakin skywalker, a fallen jedi and sith. by the end of the trilogy, luke is a fully fledged jedi knight and fights his father, and darth vader redeems himself by killing the emperor after watching the emperor try to kill his son. luke tries to save him but darth vader dies of his wounds. there's a whole bunch of other things that happen & way more characters but those are the very bare bones of the ot.

the prequel trilogy started in the 90's and ended in the 00s (episode i: the phantom menace, episode ii: attack of the clones, episode iii: revenge of the sith) and centers around luke's father, anakin, and how he went from being a jedi knight to a sith lord. it expands the universe further and also shows what the galaxy was like prior to the events of ANH. again, there's a lot more to it than that, which includes the jedi at their height, anakin's secret wife padme amidala, and way way more, but those are the bare bones.

there is a ton of media outside the main 6 films. (i'm not counting the sequel trilogy, episodes vii-ix. i don't like what they did, they sucked, and i haven't see ep ix and i will probably never. they had potential and they ruined it. so i will not be acknowledging or talking about those aside from the fact that finn deserved his own trilogy and jedi journey <3) there are shows, cartoons, novels, comics, video games. not to mention the masses of fanmade content. ever since disney acquired the rights to star wars, most of that media was relegated to "legends" (most of which is referred to as the EU, or extended universe), which means that they're still acknowledged as star wars stories but considered "old canon.

i know that's a ton of media and that's a lot of content and lore to sift through and it might seem overwhelming but like... i think that's one of the appeals for me, personally. there's so much content, so much to explore, so much more than just space wizards and stuff. there's so many stories, so many people, so many different worlds to read about and explore that like... the possibilities are essentially limitless. there's no "one area" that everyone sticks to in star wars lore, aside from general knowledge of the main movies (episodes i-ix). some people like the old republic era, which takes place thousands of years before the events of the ot. some people really love the prequels, which take place 20-30 yeras prior to the events of the ot. there are people who really like the civil war era, and people who like after. and there are people who love all of them or none of them or only stick to niche things like a certain planet or group etc etc. there's so much to choose from to love or hate or interact with. especially because there's so many aspects to every piece of media that can be talked about and explored. there's always something else to find. there's humans, jedi, sith, aliens, droids, planets, politics, plots, spaceships, bounty hunters... sky's the limit.

i think a big part of it for me is that i grew up with it. i understand there are people who get into it when they're kids or adults and they're not into it, and i'm not going to pretend that it's the end-all be-all for space fantasy media. but growing up, it was so fun. it was so full of imagination and possibility and it never got old for me. i loved the prequels dearly. because i grew up with it im familiar with the material and ive always known people who like similar things about it and view it the same way so even as ive gotten older i never really *grew out of it*. i thought i did, i thought i loss interest, but i came back once the mandalorian began to air and have been active ever since.

the thing that's kept me active, that's gotten me involved, that i still have love for and enjoy, is the people interact with because of it.  i met my best friend euie @ligaw because of it. i've made friends & mutuals as an adult because of it (not limited to but including @rogueninja @kasseivor @sarma @coredrive). i'm mutuals with people who also enjoy it and talk about it with me (including but not limited to stina-adrien @gayluke and y @goldennavenue.) and i'm mutuals with people who've made original characters from it, like nina @dilfbailorgana and h @edeemir, who have in turn inspired me to create characters & have caused me to begin creating original characters again as well. my friends and i create from it, complain about it, trash it, and love it. it makes it worth it, i think. my favorite part of tumblr + one of my longtime favorite pieces of media = a whole mess but there's a lot to love and laugh at.

that being said... not only is there a mass of content to get into, there are many issues within both the media itself as well as those who participate in it, both the fans and the creators that predate the disney-ifcation of the franchise. i know *every* media and fandom has its issues, from bad to worse, but it would be remiss, to say the least, if i didn't mention it beforehand. there are both past and ongoing issues of racism, whitewashing, islamophobia, antisemitism, etc. it's present in the media and also present in the fandom, which is something i think anyone who's thinking about getting into star wars should know about.

so like... there it is. it's not perfect by any means, there are many issues both in fandom and in the media, but i still think there's so much to love, it CAN improve and it SHOULD improve and i love it enough to want to see that happen, + the fact that i get to share the good and the bad with cool people makes still caring about star wars worth it ❤️

So i got this idea literally 5 mins after i watched a video about couples kissing when the kiss cam showed them on screen ,But in Harumo”s case its you know.

It was a clear sunny afternoon, here in Shinjuku Central Park,You,Ryota and Kengo just got out of the grocery store to deliver the ingredients to Shiro back at the safehouse, because he’l be preparing to dinner for tonight,While Agyo and Moritaka are busy cleaning the safehouse,Toji however could not make it because he was needed back at the shrine.

Harumo: Why would Shiro need this much ingredients? It literally looks like he’s planning a feast.

Ryota;FEAST!

Kengo; You better eat everything that you put on your plate,!

Ryota; No problem,This will be a breeze,i wonder what kind of food Shiro will e making for us?

Harumo: Well if Shiro’s going to be cooking,Then, it will be very delicious.

Kengo;Yeah,But why so many anyway?, its not like today is something special.or anything.

Ryota: Special or not,its going to be so much fun.

While you three are carrying a lot of grocery bags,You see someone very familiar infront of you, You call out their name,They were surprised that you were infront of them this entire time and they didn’t notice.

Gunzo: Oh Hi Harumo!, i didn’t notice that you were there.

Harumo: Hi Gunzo! Nice to see you again!.

Ryota: Hi Gunzo! its nice to see you.

You break off Gunzo’s awkward speaking by saying you and your friends will be cheering you as loud as they can to give you the confidence you need to play.

Shiro:WHAT?! thats a surprise who invited you?

Harumo: Gunzo invited all of us to go and cheer him on.

Agyo: OOOHHH! That sounds fun, I’ve never been to a stadium before.

Moritaka:Neither did i,Its amazing that Gunzo went all the way to graciously invite all of us to watch the game,

Shiro: Hold on!,Gunzo gave you six tickets right?

Harumo:Yeah?

Shiro: That’s quite suspicous don’t you think?

Harumo: WHHAAAT! No way! Gunzo will never do something that will hurt someone.

Shiro: Im not saying he’s planning something like that,But why would he give you six tickets that all of us could go,Maybe he knows of our wherabouts?

Kengo: He doesn’t look like the type that will cause trouble.

Ryota:Maybe he just wants us to be there, Its going to hurt he’s feeling if we don’t show up,And he went all the way there just to give us tickets,

With Shiro”s agreement,you all are very excited to go,

You and your friends have arrived punctually at outside of Shinjuku Stadium and are later to devoured by the large amount of people going inside,While there are a lot of food stalls outside,to provide food and drinks for everyone before going in.

Harumo: Wow, rugby matches seem to be very popular today,with all of this many people coming to watch.

Moritaka: I know,this is my first time to attend the stadium,Its humangous.

Agyo:Whoah! there are so many people here and that building is so huge!.

Shiro:Everyone! stay together or else will get lost in the crowd.

Harumo: You heard him,everyone.

You all stayed together,to prevent getting lost in the crowd,Shiro made sure that Agyo would not get lost,since this is he’s first time to be in a crowded place,Nonetheless you all made it to the entrance and hurried excitedly with food and drinks you all are holding, At first you all struggled to find good seats to watch Gunzo and he’s team in perfect view,

But luckliy,Thanks to Shiro’s brilliance and your trust in his skills and believing in him,The summoners have finally found a perfect view,To watch the team play in the field.

Ryota: Phew!, We’ve got a nice view at the field thanks to Shiro.

Moritaka:Indeed, We could clearly see everything in perfect view.

Agyo: Oh my gosh!, Its even more huge than it is on the outside!. And there are so many people out here.

Harumo:Thanks to Shiro!,We’ve manage to find a good view on the field,

Shiro:Haha!,Thank you for believing in me Harumo, But i must say,This is quite impressive, Gunzo’s team is going to be representing Yoyogi Acaddemy,I bet they are feeling a lot of pressure.

Harumo: i can’t wait to watch them play, i hope all of his hard work will pay off.

Kengo was looking at the crowd and spotted a certain group or two.

Inside the VIP room,decorated with luxurious furniture along with a bar filled with expensive drinks,There sitted on one of the chairs that feel like you’re sitting ontop of a cloud,Sit Ophion and behind him is Aizen and next to him are Lucifuge,Hakumen and behind her is Xolot,, Along with the guildmaster of the Roppongi Guild Licht and beside him is his faithful servant,none other than Melusine.

Licht: Well,it seems like everything is going really smoothly,don’t you think everyone? 

Ophion: if only my spouse were here to be at my side,it would have been perfect.

Hakumen: If only my liege were to be here,it would have been excellent.

Xolot: Mistress Hakumen,Would you like some expensive wine?

Hakumen: Oh, Yes,Its a good thing you’re really useful.

Arsalan, who was sitting on the left side of the room,seems to be surprised about the two,wishing there beloved to be here.

Licht:Aish,These two really want Harumo to be here, I mean it makes sense.Its a good thing Lucifuge is it really worried about i-

Melusine: It makes a maid blush when these three act like that.

Ophion leaps from his seat,With excitement,due to seeing something among the crowd that caught his eye,The others offcourse were surprised by the dragon’s sudden burst of happiness,They could’t helped but wonder? why

Lucifuge :Ophion!, You startled me, why are you so happy all of sudden?.

Ophion: Its nothing!,i just saw something worth paying attention at,

Licht: Wait, Is that, 

Melusine: It appears so Monsieur Licht,Harumo is right there.

After Melusine said Harumo, Both Hakumen and Lucifuge were struck by a lightning of realization,And turned there killing gaze to Ophion, They question him if he’s going to secretly have there beloved all to himself,

Hakumen: You scalles lizard!, You’re not getting my liege only for yourself Ophion!....Xolot!,Quickly get him,And don’t mess this up!.

Xolotl: Yes Mistress Hakumen!.Right away.

Ophion:Aizen!,You better get to the spouse first!,You got that,or i’ll take away your sweets!.

Aizen: Yes Sir Herr Ophion!,

Both ordering their servants to come and get their beloved, It turned into a race and a showing of usefulness to their masters,And offcourse a battle of roots and fire.

Harumo: Lets hope they didn’t see me,

Ryota: Why are you avoiding them?

Harumo: Because 1,They will just mutter me up all day, 2 i won’t be able to watch the game,If they are just going to be distracing me,Because they wanted my attention.

Ryota:O..kay.

After so much waiting,The time has finally arrived for the game to start, The crowd bursting with cheers as the announcer,Who by the way is non-other than Nyarlotothep,He starts off with a big SWAGGGGGGGGGG!,Is introducing the teams on each side,The east corner is team from Nagoya-shi Academy and the West corner is Yoyogi  Academy’s team.

[YOYOGI TEAM’S ROOM BEFORE THE ANNOUNCMENT}

Gunzo and his team all prepared themselves both physicly and mentally for the game that they are about to play infront of all these people,But Gunzo, seems to be really nervous of the fact that so many people have come to watch them play, He couldn’t helped trembling and shaking scared,and sweating a lot,

But he knows that this a game that he can’t be afraid of,Gunzo worked really hard just to make it to the team, so that he could become an amazing rugby player, To snap himself out being scared,He slapped both his cheeks,Painful,to the point were red handprints are visible on Gunzo’s cheeks, 

He then remembers Harumo,Whom promised to be there watching him and cheering him on with everything he’s got, Remembering that memory,He’s bursting of determination and tenacity, You could clearly see the raging fire in his black eyes,And with that reassuring thought,Gunzo tells he’s team to give everything that they’ve got in this game, To aim for the win that symbolizes all of our effort,all of sweat,grime,tears,and blood to be in this game, The one thing that we have aiming for,SO LETS GIVE EVERYTHING WE’VE GOT OUT THERE!, Words of encouragement and motivation echoed inside their room,that it can even be heard outside the hall, And then a loud cry burst inside the room,but its not a cry of sadness,but the cry of an army aiming to win the war,All of the teams eyes are filled with the fire full of determination,Their body shaking,but not from fear,Their shaking because they couldn’t wait,their bodies are full of inspiration derived from their hearts beating in acceleration.

They huddled up together and shout out their motto for their team,

LETS GO YOYOGI ACADEMY!.

{NOW BACK TO HARUMO}

The staduim is filled with cheers and words of encouragement as each team slowly appear from their corners,along with them is one person carrying their school flags,as a sign that they will represent their respective schools.

Harumo: There they are!,GO GUNZO! GO!,

Ryota: Go Gunzo’s TEAM!

Shiro: YOU CAN DO IT!.

Kengo: BEAT THEM TO A PULP!,

Agyo and Moritaka: AWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!,

As the team line themselves with their opponent,shook hands as a sign of sportmanship and LETS HAVE A GOOD GAME!, 

As the team’s players head to their assigned positions,The crowd goes silent,waiting in baited breath if the first kick from Gunzo’s team will make the first score, You gulped in anticipation,your friends sit silent, And then.....

Aizen and Xolotl: THERE YOU ARE!.

Harumo: WHAT THE!,

Aizen: I have strict orders from Herr Ophion to bring you him immediately!.

Xolotl: No!, You must come with me, Mistress Hakumen ordered me to bring you to her.

Harumo: Seriously!

Distracted by the two bruised and burned servants, You hear the commentor saying it was a miss.

Harumo: Ahhh i  missed it.!....UHHHH, Please tell them that i will be there in a sec.

Aizen: You love singularity!, If Herr Ophion asks for your presence,You will go immediately!,

Harumo: UHHHH.......Shiro a little help please?.

Shiro: Why are you looking at me?.........Uhmmmm, how about if all of us go with you,If they asking you won’t be able to enjoy watching the game, Hows that sound.

Xolotl: If thats what it takes to bring Harumo to Mistress Hakumen,Then i will try to convince her,

Shiro: He can’t hear you, That glass is blocking your voice from reaching him.

Licht: Allow me my friend, I can remove this glass wall with a push of this remote i have,...And there.

 The glass wall slowly descends downward, The noise it blocked quickly pierced your hears as the wall keeps getting lower,Quick to adjust to the noise you can finally hear much more better now.

Harumo: Thanks Licht !, Gunzo you can do it, Im here to cheer you on, Give it your all.!

Everyone in the enitre staduim as well as people watching it being broadcasted heard your cheer to him, The crowd are both laughing and inspired by your bravery,That the people behind you are also shocked beyond belief as though they have not witnessed you doing this crazy type of stunts before,

Gunzo realizing he’s cheerleader is there infront of him all this time and thinking, Why did i thought about of you leaving me? man that was stupid of me.

Gunzo: HAHA!, THANKS HARUMO!......I PROMISE THAT I WILL WIN THESE GAME ! 

Harumo: I know you can do it Gunzo ,i’ve believe in you!.

After you inspired Gunzo and possibly something else,Gunzo signals he’s team to huddle up and him as leader.With the role of leader of the team,He quickly fulfills he’s role as captain as he gives he’s team the backbone to keep playing.

Gunzo: Alright team listen up!, I know i’ve not been fulfilling my role as captain,But this time its going to be different! Im going to fulfill to promises and one is win this game with my team!,So please i need all of your help.

Gunzo bows to plea for his teamate’s cooperation,And in a shocking turn.

Nyarlothotep: Now we’re back at the game,And im join by non other than our most powerful ruler, ALL HAIL  AZATHOTH!.

Meanwhile The Genociders sat on the left side of the stadium, Babalon,Surtr and Arc watch the game in excitement.

Babalon: My my, They better play nice with each other, as a caring mother i still feel anxious seeing children get hurt like this.

Arc: Mother its okay,no will get hurt in this game, If they do then the medical staff will take care of them.

Surtr: Ahhhh, nothing more exciting than an amazing bout, This should be shown to the children of Muspell.

Arc: Another thing is,Harumo is here as well,

Babalon: Yes, i was moved to tears for his bravery, Nothing could make a mother more proud than to see her child shine through.

With Arc possible dragging Azathothe back once the game is over, Everyone in the VIP room watch the game unfold infront of them as Yoyogi and Nagoya give out every once of energy that they have on the game, You watch the game feeling nervous and excited while looking at Gunzo being covered in dirt, from the times he’s been sliding,tumbling,and falling on the ground, You are amazed by his determination and spirit, 

Harumo: Wow, Gunzo is really amazing.

Moritaka: Im amazed by his fighting spirit, He’s got the face of a warrior.

Ophion: Now my spouse, Sit on my lap to have a magnificent view.

Harumo: YEY!,Alright here i come!.

The moment you’re jumping to his lap,you were quickly taken away by a mysterious grabber.

Harumo: Huh? what?

Hakumen: Ohohoh, Good boy Xolotl,Now my liege i want to be sitting on your lap now.

You are sitted on Hakumen’s chair decorated for a queen as well as the comfiest pillow in the enitre world. Ophion however.

Ophion: How dare you!,Snatch my spouse away from me, You’l pay for this.

Hakumen: What you want a FIGHT!?

Ophion and Hakumen: HRGH!.

Both stared at each other with eyes that are out for blood,Their stares are so intense you could literally see lighting between them as they argue for your attention.

Harumo: Please don’t fight over me guys......Pleaseeeeeeee. Alright then you two leave me no choice then..

You showed them the one trick that will knock out even the most ferocious beast will find themselves defeated by it.and ITS non other than 

Harumo: Secret Tecnique: Puppy eyes!.

They look at your eyes shaped like a begging puppy,your lips upwards, Both of them stared at you with a expressions that look like they got a heart attack, Hakumen almost fainted for the cuteness displayed that even she could not resist getting charmed by it,Ophion looks in astonishment to see he’s spouse looking more beautiful in whatever expression he takes.

Nyarlothotep: GOAL!,GOAL! BABY. what  a twist, Yoyogi is starting to reach Nagoya shi,what a twist of fate,oh my stars,Now what do you think? our grand overlord.

Azathoth: HEHEHE,they’re reaching the final level,ahhaha

Nyarlothotep: With the score of 24-18,Nagoya shi still holds the lead, Yoyogi is starting to make their comeback,

Gunzo: Alright team !, Lets keep the pressure on them!,

Team Yoyogi: YEAH!.

WHISTLE.

Nyarlothotep: And thats it for the first quarter,The score is 24-18 Nagoya shi still holds the lead,And Yoyogi is somehow making a strong comeback. YEEEYEEYYYY!.

Harumo: Yeah!,Go Gunzo’s team!,Keep up the pressure!

Shiro: Looks like they catching up, I wonder what will they do next ?

Ryota: They’re really giving them a run for their money, Wonder if they’re hungry?.

Kengo:  They’re hungry for blood Ryota, This is gonna get real good once the 2nd quarter begins. 

Moritaka: This game is like a battlefield, Who knew this kind of sport existed.

The noise from the crowd drops as the battle is halt to a pause,Which gave Babalon some breathing room, Gunzo’s team rested on their area,tied there laces again, and drink energy drinks to hold on during the game, The captain of the team is strategizing for the 2nd quarter,Unaware this is the moment where everything will change.

You look at your soon to be smooching partner, and the person can’t hide their embarrasement ,as it was visible to everyone looking ,even though their entire face is turning red from the emotions their feeling.you waik slowly to him with your lips pukering up,already in a kissing stance,your smooching partner takes a deep breath and close their eyes and slowly but surely closes the gap and slowly both of your lips are coming in contact with each other,

Everyone behind you panics except the Aoyama Guild, The summoners braced themselves and some watch in awww 

Agyo:What are they doing?

 as they are so jealous for the fact everyone wants to kiss Harumo,which Harumo loves, and possibly after this is done everyone is going to kill that person or maybe torture them, The Tycoons watch angrily and jealousy, for they also want to kiss Harumo especially Ophion,he grits his teeth so much that even a nutcracker will be considered second -rate in this situation, since he’s spouse is about to kiss the LUCKY BASTARD!, he tries to calm himself down with some help from his loyal servant Aizen, by bringing him one of the most luxurious wine they have at the bar behind them, but the more the gap closes everyone stares at them wide open and angrily, and Hakumen is well, the most angry of them all,Xolotl is very worried and scared since he hasn’t seen Hakumen this angry in his enitre career,but neverthess he tries his best to calm the angry vixen down by giving her the most relaxing massage in the entire universe. though it appears to working just a little,Xolotl tries to restrain her,but that is the worst move he could hve ever pulled in that kind of situation, in his mind that is, Xolotl thinks carefully on how to calm the angry fox down,he then brings the one thing that will instantneouly calm Hakumen down and that is WINE!.Xolotl brings the most elegent wine that even the wine that Aizen brought will seem inferior to the smoothness and deliciousness the wine Xolotl brings,he quickly pours a glass with it and gave it to Hakumen and hoping for it to work. 

And it worked like a charm, Hakumen is now calming down and her tails have finally calmed down with its embers fainting,this serves as a lucky sign for Xolotl has he can breath easily now,knowing he did an excellent job in handling the situation, Lucifuge,well is taking it really well even though his mighty overlord is literally about to kiss someone infront of him,even though Zabanniya has already kissed Harumo back at the battle of Otemachi, he watches in aww as the gap closes,

Harumo: So...... we’re actually doing this?...... Ryota.

But that doesn’t stop there, both of you are still kissing each other unaware of everyone still watching your public stunt.

Shiro:Uhm you two...

it has finally ended,both of you stopped kissing and stared at each other,smiling and laughing at one another as both of you have shared an incredible moment infront of thousands of people watching you right now.

After a long so called break,the game finally resumes and made its way towards the 2nd quarter of the game. Everyone’s focus is glued at the game like they just forgotten about the entire INCIDENT. some are still jealous and some however.

Bobby probably has an... interesting music taste. Punk, pop and rap, anything energetic. We know he used to be in a punk band and that he likes Cardi B, and I can so see him having had a SUM 41/Good Charlotte/Blink 182 phase in the 00s. These days he’s also a big fan of Megan Thee Stallion of course, and I think his current favourite song reflects that.

Hi, anon! Thank you for the love anon, and yes, I do have something. Right now I’m in a hurry to write this post because I’ve just seen dd’s last Oasis post, and it’s...

Well, I’m lucky I’d already looked it up at least. So, let’s get into it!

Disclaimer: all is fake, fake, fake

Gifts dd gave to gg

Let’s start with the short, easy part, since the next part is going to get long. The most well-known gift (that we know) dd has given to gg is a pair of Nike sneakers, that dd showed off in TTXS too.

So, why do fans think dd gave this sneakers to gg?

Dd has access to limited editions and new models from the brands he endorses, Nike among them. He once said that he usually buy 2 pairs of shoes, one to wear casually and the other pair to skate.

The Daisy Nike sneakers were a limited edition that were sold out in 0,6 second. That’s why it’s very unlikely that gg bought this sneakers himself. Moreover, Nike has never been a staple in his wardrobe before. 

They wore the same pair of shoes the same day (that’s why fans think it was a gift instead of their usual clothes sharing). They wore them on December 28, the day of the Tencent Awards.

A week earlier, dd had posted an Oasis post with a photo of the sneakers. The same day, gg posted Spongebob’s laughing mouth as a response.

Gifts gg gave to dd

Okay, so now we are moving on to the long part of the post. There are few well-known gifts from gg to dd.

1. The helmet.

Gg gave it to dd on the day of his birthday in 2018, when they were on set filming CQL. This is a public one, and, as you can see, bxg don’t make a fuss over things that are made public and innocent. It’s when they try to hide things that bxg go like 👀.

What’s curious about this one is that there is an actual video of dd unwrapping gifts on the set. However, when he’s later asked about what he received on his 21st birthday in interviews, he never fails to mention the helmet, but only once mentions a gift from the production team and another from LHK. Nothing about any other gifts, in spite of videos proving that he did receive a lot of gifts.

2. The necklace

This one is also very well-known. Dd was seen wearing it for the first time on June 19, 2019, a year after their Dragon Boat Festival “date”, so the anniversary vibes are strong in this one. He was also in Chongqing’s airport, out of all places of China. But well. Nothing to be added.

3. The blue zipper sneakers

The story of this pair of shoes go back to October 21 in 2019, a week before their last fan meeting in Nanjing.

That, another actor, for reasons we don’t know, posted a short: “XZ, you are nothing”. The comment was trending as top 1 in the hot search chart, and antis were all commenting on it.

Dd had been filming YF in the mountains, and that day, at night, he posted a photo of his old sneakers: “Used to the point of a hole... good bye, battle shoes... the next ones will do well too!” (bxg think it was as soon as he got signal again, he saw what happened and published something to divert the attention). 

It didn’t seem a very well thought strategy, but it did get the attention away from the topic of XZ.

This was noticed by bxg because dd was seen wearing this pair of shoes again, in less than a month.

Then, moving on to the October 31 or November 1, when they were practicing for the concert, we get these photos.

Dd is the one wearing the green shoes at the beginning of the practice. By the end of the night, he was wearing the blue ones. That night, he updated his Oasis account with a photo of the sneakers, and a caption with 3 embarrassed emojis (as we all know by now, 3 in kadian represent gg).

There a few options here:

He bought the shoes himself. Then it’d be more likely that he wore that pair from the beginning instead of changing shoes in the middle of a practice.

The brand send them to him. The brand wouldn’t send them to Nanjing to him, where he was staying just a couple of days for the concert. Besides, the caption with the 3 emojis doesn’t seem like something he’d do for a endorsement.

So, the last option is that someone gifted them to him. The caption makes sense then, and one of the people he met that day that he hadn’t seen in a while was gg. It also fits with the problem gg had had a week before, and from which dd had helped him with a pair of battered shoes. It looks like a thank you gift to me.

Not just that, but a few days later, in an event for H&S, dd was wearing them, and would “pet” them and almost afterwards touch his hair. It’s almost like he didn’t want people to miss his shoes. That day dd was also in a sour mood, and bxg speculate it was because of the photos that had leaked of gg kissing his costar cheek.

4. Another helmet (?)

On the same day he posted the photo of the daisy Nike sneakers, he also posted a picture of this helmet. Bxg speculate it may have been a gift from gg (since dd gave him the sneakers) because of the 3 emojis, so it may be. However, there’s no real proof for this one, just the emojis pattern, which brings us to the last one.

5. The black sneakers

So dd updated his Oasis account today with this:

So let’s do the 3 possibilities analysis again:

He bought them himself. He has never shown off his sneakers like this. If he did, it was usually a photo of the sneakers in their box. Why the photo with the insistence, pointing the shoes? Why a caption with 3 little smug faces?

The brand sent them to him. Well, he does endorse Nike. But again, the caption isn’t professional enough, and the endorsements are usually posted on w/ibo, not on Oasis.

i just finished reading the masterpiece that is Top of the world and I'm so shaken up by the excellence of the rich vocabulary, the sentence structure and just the way you wrote the various events that happened. I'm such at a lost of words to express what I feel you have no ideas, I will never recover from the high quality of this story. it couldn't have been better than that what you delivered and I'm just so so relieved to have been able to live this amazing experience of reading such an outstanding story. I'm sorry maybe you're thinking im showering you in too much compliments but you deserves to be praised for having written Top of the world.

I will always be amazed with how people who write are able to wrote down their imagination and wow, im still shaking like.. Im so impressed by you you have no ideas 🙈

moving on, this is the first time ever since I'm reading nct fics on tumblr that I came across this characterization of jaemin, and it is a real take of fresh air in the best way possible even tho he's really such an asshole like wow the popularity did go too high in his head I was so scandalized (in a good way lmao it made me amazed) with how an ass he was and like the way he ordered around jisung ???? djjdjffjhf I- I wanted to punch jaemin so hard 😤 I wanted to dive into the story and beat his ass lmaooo im sure you too, like I was rolling around in my bed bc I couldn't stay still and laying down without reacting ㅠㅠ

I dont know at what length of words the ask can tolerate but let me tell you something before I forgot ! I realized that every situations/events you wrote had a purpose, like you didn't wrote basic actions that we would pass over without much attention, and bc of that you held our attention during the 15.6k of words and it was so much overwhelming I couldn't stop reading just to breathe lol, you kept me going for so long and I really liked it im so sad that I lived this experience and I couldn't live it again *sobs* this is so revolting I want to pat your head you did so so well 🥺

alsooooo, when you introduced yn's character in the beginning, I was kinda afraid that he would bully her physically you know, like I couldn't imagining you daring to write him being more than despicable than he was but thanks god that wasn't what I imagined fjdjfj, the way he exercised his 'dominance' towards someone he didn't know just for a seat lmao, wow he got some real balls ?¿ I was scandalized a lot fjjfjffj but I was curious too about jeno's character in the story, he was so chill (I think?) about yn's being involved with jaemin from the start and I was expecting him to be an asshole to her just like jaem, u know ? could we know your motives about jeno's character in the story ? why didn't you wrote him like jaemin?

but yeah !! so, I really liked the contrast between how we perceived yn's outside facade and inside, like when he make her kneels in front of him, you made us look at her from jaemin's view and how she looked not so bothered by his behavior and then you switched the second after into yn's point of view and how she tried to not show her emotions... *mind blowing* 🤯 not gonna lie, I was rotting for her to not let him mess with her head but instead her doing that to him and it kinda worked fjfjfjf and then I knew the moment he was surprised about the non effect he had on her that it was the start of his fall anD I WASN'T A SECOND DISAPPOINTED

I FUCKING LOVED THE BLOSSOMING REALTIONSHIP BETWEEN THE TWO OF THEM anD the slight graduation of jaemin's becoming soft to her oh my god I had hearts in my eyes. I loved every moments of this story (I loved the entire 15.6k words of it, I cherished them), but the pool scene toward the end made me go feral for a lot of minutes like the picture you implanted in my head of him in the water made me post all my thoughts (also blonde jaemin? as in, make a wish jaemin?, god I hope bc fucking damn, he was so so so hot)

I was so emotional at the end, they got together and just, being the witness of jaemin's character development was breathtaking, I couldn't stop thinking about how smooth you made it for his character development during all the story, it wasn't forced or too quick...
