I liked doing this last week, but it will get kinda repetitive in the coming weeks. So I'm not sure if I'll do it often while I'm posting the modern/band AU, but oh well!

It's another Saturday morning in a blanket with new music. Truly all I could ever need to write.

Here's what I've been working on...

Modern/band AU is fit and ready to start posting this upcoming week. Chapter [redacted] is complete, and I'm now far enough ahead that even a few weeks of busy life won't stop a regular posting schedule. And if I keep up writing then I'll be able to post around Xmas without needing a break!

Chapter [redacted+1] has an opening sentence, which is often the hardest part.

The outline for the AU has been modified a little. Combined three chapters into one, split out another chapter into two. Probably lots of consolidation to be done otherwise. There's a weird bit in the outline that's kinda fuzzy, but I'm sure I'll knuckle my way through it since it's not thematically deep. Might even be another chapter consolidation. This fic is definitely going to be longer than the 40k I was hoping it would top out at...

Editing the previous chapters has been a fun exercise in trimming the fat! I still want there to be scenes that are just ~vibes~ but I axed 1k words and the whole thing is cleaner for it.

More Minthara/Lae'zel is in the works, but it's mostly only the skeleton of an idea as I've had to rework it multiple times. I've a little under 1k actually written, and I'm not too convinced of what it is at the moment either. Quite frustrating.

Another seedling of an idea for non-smutty Asheera/Shadowheart fics. But it's really just "Shadowheart meets Asheera's parents" and boy I'm not ready for the mixed emotions Shadowheart's going to feel in that one. You know it's not just going to be fluff.

The Gauntlet/Nightsong segment for my core Shadowheart/Asheera series has a skeleton of an outline now. The POVs have been picked, the core beats are there, and I know it's going to hurt like a motherfucker to write some of this.

Red-black: right place right time; i just happened to write one of the first explicit songbird/v fics. there are many more now and others have done songbird more justice. i still think this one's good! Jaded: the lil cousin. i can't believe a hundred and thirty-two souls read and ostensibly enjoyed a fic about "tiny" mike kowalski dicking down a nice british corpo girl. who are these people. i mean i know who like eight of them are but still Crescent & Redwood: a sequel no one asked for (well, a couple people sort of did) but everyone needed. again, who are these people... Black steel: everyone loves SilverV! i was pleasantly surprised that folks went along with the odd vignette format, the lack of overt romance, and a somewhat idiosyncratic version of V

What fandoms do you write for?

cyberpunk 2077 and a little bit of baldur's gate 3! realistically, CP77 has my imagination captured for the foreseeable future. the setting meshes well with my writing style and the universe is just a great sandbox. there is some bg3 stuff i wanna write though

Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?

i respond. i respond within like 5 minutes sometimes… i respond more reliably than i respond to work emails. why: it's honestly shocking to me that anyone reads anything i write, much less takes time to let me know about it. you sat there giving me twenty minutes, sixty minutes, maybe even hours and hours of your undivided attention? in this economy?? i answer them faster than work emails bc nobody at my job has done anything like that for me.

What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

black steel, the last installment is brutal and i've def gotten the most "wow this hurt me" feedback on it

What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

my fics tend to end on a bittersweet note, but crescent is definitely more sweet than bitter. it's the only one i'd be comfortable billing as a true "happy ending." and the characters earned it. i earned it! imo!!

Do you get hate on fics?

never gotten a hate comment or even a negative one! i would be excited tbh...

my favorite kinda fic to read and write: plotty, character-driven, perhaps even a bit cerebral, with copious nasty as FUCK explicit scenes. and that's really something you can only find in fanfics — published romance and erotica tends to be somewhat formulaic and shallow, while anything "literary" doesn't usually include a lot of open-door sex, especially not those longer juicy scenes

Do you write crossovers?

i have a couple cute ideas for crossovers but im unlikely to pursue them in any way

i'm not really that ship-driven; there aren't many i've had an ongoing fixation with and i'm more drawn to good writing and chewy dynamics. i can get into anything !

What's the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

the one about regina jones in her early media days in the 2050s! i love the premise but i don't think i'll have the steam to finish it in a way i'd be satisfied with

What are you writing strengths?

characterization — i think i'm good at rendering a character in three dimensions, giving them a voice and a real presence, and making you want to root for 'em. maybe even making you want to fuck them.

and i think my prose is good. i go for a blend of punchy and poetic and think i achieve it much of the time!

What are your writing weaknesses?

plotting, but i'm getting better at it! my prose has allowed me get away (or feel like i've gotten away) with some hacky shit from time to time and i am trying to clean up my act in that regard.

i think my writing has a tendency toward excess and purpleness, reaching too hard, veering into the self-conscious and pretentious at points. it's something of a calculated risk i take… but sometimes, to force a basketball analogy, i'm chucking up a lot of 3-pointers and circus shots when i should be driving into the paint

Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in a fic?

i've mostly limited this to code-switching (ie mixing in terms and phrases from another language) or, in some cases like with the VDB, having select dialogue in another language with translation inline — which is meant to mimic the effect of having an automatic translation as in the game. basically i try to have a solid reason for it!

Favorite fic you've ever written?

man, i love crescent & redwood.. i simply had an amazing time writing that. i was consumed by my passion for it and every day i was counting down the hours until i could get back to it. every time i sat down to write i'd be rolling downhill like a semi-truck with shot brakes, unstoppable (not always a good thing but very very fun for me!). it's full of smut that i'm proud of but also odd little scenes and moments that just make me happy. the last two chapters in particular are some of the bombest shit i've written. finishing it legitimately BROKE my heart!! sometimes i'm scared i'll never enjoy writing something that much again, but even if that's the case, i'm grateful for my 3-month long torrid love affair with that damn fic

I'm not even the biggest fan of Dabi in terms of looks, but always found very weird how the anime constantly makes him look way more defined and with bigger muscles than he has in the manga.

Isn't a bit contradictory for his character to look super ripped? Horikoshi clearly drawn Dabi in that specific way because the story makes emphasis on his body being more frail due having a weak constitution, also contrasting him to the rest of mens in the family who got the big and strong constitution of Enji, Natsuo especially. The anime just lose all the meaning behind that.

And this is more of a personal preference but I find Dabi's body in the manga to look much more attractive and less generic than in the anime. Skinny guys can look attractive as well.

Let me start with this. Have you seen how in the Tumblr the tags of dabi x reader and shig x reader there a HUGE contrast in quality? Shig is depicted as a creepy and weirdo incel while Dabi IS "I'LL STEAL YOUR WIFE😏"

now on a controversial take. I do like the idea of dabi losing his scars. Why? Would increase his quality of life...I find odd how everyone in LoV accepts Dr. Evil's word and never try to take a second opinion. Also, without the scars Dabi would look way more like Endy making his claim be more powerful.

(not a fan of erasing Shig's scars nor the "crusty" jokes. Shig is handsome with his scars)

Now onto your ask: I think Bones just like to make characters hot in a conventional way, JJK men got to be hotter than the manga. But I do notice how bones lacks in translate the manga to anime. Some of the scenes of the manga were done so dirty.

Dabi became hotter aka buffer bc of this. Btw, many dabi x reader like to make the reader have a healing quirk (it should be a trope by now) just so it can heal dabi...which no one account that dabi IS self destructive, a healing quirk is nice but he would do again...unless he changes his mindset (I'm trying to explore this in my fic called besties)

Ask yourself: did shig NEEDED to be buffaraki? Was afo the quirk really need you to be buff?

(was necessary for Izu to gain muscles? Maybe, maybe not)

So to answer: Dabi is attractive in any shape. His writing trumps over shig any day even if shig IS more attractive than Dabi.

First of all,your tags are so informative,I have read almost everything here in the past hours. But now I am here for a fk lore. I saw some tweets where First talks about how stubborn Khaotung is & some people talk about how khaotung sometimes scold him a lot. We don't see that much in on camera so is that off camera lore. Can you suggest some videos or translation or something about this? I remember one of very first FKT translation I saw was first suggesting them carpool to save the environment & Khao telling him to just walk. This is endearing to me for some reason. i appreciate your dedication, i know i have the habit of babbling quite a lot, but thank you for taking your time to read it.

it's not specifically about this, but has elements of it, so i highly recommend everyone who's new to the fandom to watch the candy channel interview. it is one of their best interviews in my opinion and it's so entertaining, they were having a lot of fun in it (and they also talk about how first spoiled khaotung by walking with him everywhere in their trip to japan, enough that first and khaotung had to part ways in the second day to get a massage bc he was all sore).

first talks about khaotung being stubborn a lot, but it was more of a thing that happened most often i feel when they were filming/promoting only friends. maybe that's the ray in khaotung that was giving first a hard time, but we all know first folds like a wet piece of paper whenever khaotung wants something (this man won't ever win a rock paper scissors game against khaotung because he'll always let khaotung go first, even when first wins - to the dismay of his game partners. off would like to have a word).

i think one of the reasons why first calls khaotung stubborn so often is because khaotung can be a little unorganized. he's known for not answering calls (do not disturb mode 247 to the point p'som - their manager - calls first so she can get to khaotung, and khaotung has said before that first is like his second manager), he has terrible memory, is messy and leaves water bottles all over his car, is often late, doesn't read the group chat to follow the dress code, so to first, it must be like dealing with a mischievous cat honestly. first complains by saying khaotung is stubborn, but he'll add that he's also cute, like when he wanted khaotung to buy him a nintendo switch before their trip to brazil, and even khaotung will admit to his stubbornness like when they were asked who's the most stubborn, first or vaanjoy, and khaotung said he was the most stubborn. but it's important to note that even when he's being stubborn, he sometimes gives in to first like during the fanta live stream with offgun (and regrets his decision almost immediately).

not to bring live house again, but since that's probably the most them we've seen them be in front of the cameras, i think it's a good example to show how khaotung was scolding first during that time because baby boba eyes wouldn't keep his wrist cast on, and would try to lift heavy things and khaotung scolded him every time. khaotung was very protective of first during that time bc of his arm. he would open water bottles, help him with his meals, and he also despised that smelly thing. they were joined by the hip in that house which was very sweet, acts of service all around.

the combination of these two things (khaotung being stubborn and fk scolding) to me is this part during promotions of our skyy two when khaotung says he likes teasing first until first scolds him back, but since khaotung is stubborn and won't listen to him, first just stopped complaining 😅😅.

like you said, we don't see that much on camera (she says after giving you idk how many links), but what we have is always so interesting to watch. and to end this already long reply, i give you first and khao's thank you messages in the end of safe house.

18. Thoughts on mixed language dialogue? 

I don't mind it. . . As a reader, I like the extra depth it brings to a charater. As long as there's a translation for me to read. I enjoy it. As a writer, it can be a bit nerve wracking because I think and write in English and then try to translate it over, which sometimes doesn't always work. I am lucky bc one of my betas speaks Spanish so I often bounce ideas off of her when I need that for characters. But for a recent ongoing WIP, I decided (because I'm insane) to include A LOT of French in my dialogue. I had used an online translator, but thankfully one of my readers jumped in to offer to help with corrections and any French translations going forward!

19. First fandom you wrote for?

Officially - like posted stuff, would be Glee/Klaine . Though I've been making up fandom AUs/ bits of stories in my head for years before I knew what fanfiction was! i just never shared it with anyone! 😂

20. Favourite fic you’ve ever written?

I love all of my fics! It's hard to say which is my all time favorite . . but I will say that ( though it's almost finished - 1 more chapter left) If I Can Make Your Heart My Home (Glee/Klaine) will always hold a special place in my heart . . its been a true joy writing it and seeing how others have reacted to it. It's also my longest piece to date - a little over the length of a novel (127,206 words) - and has taken me a LONG time to write . . ( its been a year and 10 months) The whole writing process for this has been very challenging and very fulfilling to do. I have very much fallen in love with the AU and will be happy to revisit it after the fic is complete.

Oohhh a French speaking AFTG fan!

Can I ask what’s the general opinion on the Marseille accent? What do Canadians think of it? Is it fancy? Or rough?

ouhh what a question anon! i'm tagging @givemethedamnflowers so she can help me out too if u want to <3

also i don't speak for all Franco Canadians / Québécois. fiy. ya know.

as a Québécoise first and foremost (Canadian comes 2nd in how i view my identity), and as someone WHO HAS A MOREAU FROM MARSEILLES in my close family, i love the accent. to me it's somehow much less grating than the Parisian accent (not the international French accent, that one's ok) despite being much more pronounced and how do you say... quirky? not weird, but like it's definitely peculiar. special! i like it a lot. it also makes me love Jean Moreau even more because it adds character, an edge, another area of fondness. i personally think it's very easy to spot, but contrary to the north of France, it's easier to understand.

i would say the most northern accents are much rougher, more difficult to understand than Marseilles or Paris, also because of the disparity in colloquialisms and regional expressions. but i do love them so. Bourgogne?? Normandie?? oh how lovely. and then down down down down south, neighbor to Marseilles, l'Occitanie (a fave)!!! oh and la Corse!!! so so beautiful to me. music to my ears. maybe bc, as Québécoise, like i said, i feel a little kinship with those regions' accents, bc the Paris/Île-de-France spit upon our accents as shitty, ridiculous, "not real French" or generally make fun of us, like we're somehow less smart bc of the way we pronounce things and speak with our accent. in my experience! and trust me, i've had a lottttttt of 'em. so the little scene where Jean keeps being annoyed by Thea calling him 'Paris' when he's from Marseilles? ACCURATE & GOLDEN! made me smile.

that being said, as it has been discussed many many times in the fandom, characters like Neil, Kevin and Jean, and even Andrew and Nicky, have such wild backgrounds, with how much they move around geographically + their mixed heritage, that all of them must have unique accents you can't really pin down. Jean left Marseilles at 14, was homeschooled, then forced to learn Japanese then English, in West Virginia, from native Japanese speakers. he doesn't have the Marseilles slang, the refs; his French is stuck at that level and it can't progress, and he also probably loses a lot of it, breaking down over time. finding his words must be a a nightmare. imagine trying to translate a word that isn't even considered French nor translatable outside of Marseilles' region!!! also, how old were his parents? what generation of slang has he picked up by default? or was he, sadly, taught international French?

SO MANY QUESTIONS! UGH! aftg & languages, French specifically, give me a headache (and heartache) every time.

i would say, watch films and series! please! from every part of the Francophonie around the world! Belgium, Louisiana Cajun, Acadia, Québec, Marseilles, Niger... it's a beautiful language, despite his devastating shameful hand in colonization and racism. the way the people forced to learn and speak it to survive have all found ways to make it theirs in infinite ways that help the language evolve and become richer. French is as much theirs now, if not more. French is much more that than the Republic. French is not Paris.

bc ao3 doesn't have many fanfics about them, do you have any japanese fanfic rec about both/one of them?

Ah, you're welcome!!! That's my ultimate goal, I want to feed everybody, because I think there is SO MUCH to say about KabuMisu, and about Dungeon Meshi... so I try to do both.

UNFORTUNATELY Japanese fandom tends to not write a lot of fanfic, and I know that some Japanese fans have been reading my fics, via machine translation... So I think there's not much available. But everything in the AO3 Kabru/Mithrun tag is good, so I'd recommend starting there. And if you haven't read "Keep your eyes on me." by amaimai, and you want to read some wonderful smut about the pairing, I HIGHLY recommend it. A++ no notes, 100% wonderful read start to finish. Since I really can't recommend any Japanese fanfic, let me drop some Japanese artist recs, since some of them have done mini comics and doujins. In order to browse pixiv you'll need to make an account, but it's free to use. Jaco is the MVP, the CEO, the President of Kabumisu. Their work is incredible and they've drawn a couple of complete doujins, some of which you can find translated into English on various corners of the internet. They are also an incredibly sweet and nice person who will do their best to talk to you, even though they don't really speak English. Tsy is not really in the Dungeon Meshi fandom anymore, sadly, but they have a lot of incredible, beautiful work. Bae also does a lot of gorgeous fashion-oriented stuff, and if you like Promare, they're into that too!

Sin has an amazing dynamic, sketchy style, and a fantastic sense of humor.

ナノコ has a unique style that I love.

那 (Rainbox) is someone else who isn't really in the Dungeon Meshi fandom anymore, but they have a lot of wonderful art that shows the soft and tender side of Kabumisu. Also they ship Helki/Milsiril, and they have a tumblr, though I think more of their work is on Pixiv.

Go forth and feast! And don't be shy about leaving nice comments for Japanese fans. Even just saying "I love this!" (これ 大好き!) would probably make them happy!

I think (usually) I'm pretty good at staying true to the characters and not making them too ooc (and I know when it's ooc, okay, I have one wip rn where I just don't give a fuck, I'm writing it anyway lol), and I can get into their heads pretty well. Also I think I'm good at the cute fluffy stuff lol idk

there's probably a lot lol - rn the one that comes to mind is descriptions probably, which is why writing fanfic where we have established characters and settings is so much easier than og stuff haha

1. How many works?

i’ve written two books on Ao3 but have well over one hundred on tumblr.

2. Total word count on Ao3?

592, 245 (i literally never shut up)

3. Top five fics by likes?

oh goodness, my top likes have been taken by me yapping abt SOTR, but ‘House of Balloons’, ‘The Nanny’, ‘Cold & Calculated’, ‘Pretty’, & ‘Let it Snow’ are most likely my top five which is funny since most of them are series haha.

4. What fandoms do you primarily write for?

i write for the hunger games fandom, more specifically the TBOSAS fandom. i love evil coryo.

5. Do you respond to comments?

yes!!! since i started writing i have always prioritized interacting with those who read my work, it truly makes my day when i get asks/comments. :,)

6. Angstiest ending?

oh…well, ‘Pretty’ was very sad, i actually had someone ask me if i was doing okay mentally after writing it so i would say it’s pretty dark. also maybe ‘Field Mouse’, ‘Anything At All’, ‘The Witch’, or ‘Passing By’. any stories where soarynn dies always choke me up.

7. Happiest ending?

‘The Nanny’!!! it was probably the happiest ending i wrote, & i was glad to see it end bc it went on for quite some time hehe. also ‘Mr. Peacekeeper’ bc she got her revenge. i try to give soarynn some happy endings every once in a while i promise ;).

8. Do you get hate?

nope. thank goodness bc i really don’t know what i would do if i did. i also just write for such a niche area in the fandom, my own little corner really. the only time the alarms were sounded was for leashgate. only a few remember that one ;)

9. Do you write smut?

hell yeah i do. it was a bit weird writing it at first but now it’s like second nature.

no, i do try to make references to the original HG series but i don’t do crossovers.

well…i do have quite a few things that are half written. ‘House of Balloons’ will get finished, im just in a bit of a rut with that one. but there’s lots of things i would like to wrap up in my drafts. i do want to finish my ‘Born to Die’ series, i have two more to write. also the divergent series lmfao, idk what i was thinking with that one.

dark coryo. i have gotten so many compliments on how i write him which is funny bc i never really felt like i was doing groundbreaking stuff but apparently i write him quite well hehe. also just grammar, an oxford comma hates to see me coming. oh, & keeping with continuity, that is very important to me.

17. Writing weaknesses?

i feel like i use the same words over & over again (seems, truly, quite, &, chuckles) sometimes i feel like my fics all follow the same format so i try my best to change it up. i worry that im either being too descriptive or not descriptive enough. i am never happy with myself lol.

18. Thoughts on mixed language dialogue?

so i am going to assume this means two languages at the same time which i am all for.

the hunger games baby!!! best fandom there is :))

‘Stay with me, always’ will always be my favorite piece of work. i am so fucking proud of it & will always look back on that time of my life so fondly. when it comes to tumblr, i do love ‘The Nanny’ & also anything petunia related. writing her is one of my many joys in life.

I try to reply to all of them honestly. I am not successful (there were two depressions that took away my ability), but I try my best bc I remember the days when I got like 3 comments and it was so exciting and I replied to everyone. The people who comment on my work now are just as important as those first three people, so I try to acknowledge how much they still mean to me!

6) What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

For all I put my characters through it™, Sunblindness is the only fic with a non-happy ending.

I guess Party Favours? I still think about Astarion watering houseplants out of boyfriend obligation, often.

occasionally, but it's never interesting. like I know what's wrong with my writing if you're going to be mean to me at least be accurate about it.

not actually any of the ones i write for! Howl x Sophie, Spike x Buffy are probably my favourite but I find the character voices too restrictive for what I like to write.

shout out to Rosalie/Astarion for literally curing me of the classic "plays the same videogame romances the same person" sickness. I like rotating the two of them together so much in my mind that I have to have my other Tavs look elsewhere.

I don't doubt I'll finish everything eventually do to my social anxiety, but I think an honest lie gets that way sometimes just bc it's a long slog of a fic lmao

I honestly think consistency is my biggest strength, which is such a dull one but idk I have no doubt I'll finish the things I'm writing eventually and i hope the reader base know to trust me with certain stories on the back of what I've done before!

the overwriting has gotten extremely out of hand. fic is a very forgiving format for where more is just more, but there's a reason my overall wordcount embarrasses me. I hope this will just make original fiction very forgiving when I have to cut EVERYTHING down.

18) Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in a fic?

as an english-first-language girlie, I try to avoid it. I've now done it once and it was necessary but I didn't want to keep it up for long enough once it communicated the plot point it needed to. I think it can be done well, but don't use google translate, for the love of fucking god.
