Hallo! I'm not sure if you've already discussed or talked about the Obliviation spell and how memory magic works in general in HP already, but I think that'd be pretty neat if ever.
Hello!
So, I talked a bit here about pensive memories and how I think there's more than one spell involved. Now, mind magic in general in HP aren't talked about that much, but I have some thoughts about it (like I have about everything in HP).
I'll start with something I mentioned here regarding mind magic in general, and that mind magic seems to be the opposite of spells like the Patronus Charm or the unforgivable cures. While the unforgivable and the patronus required emotion, Snape says Occlumancy requires a clear mind:
“Clear your mind, Potter,” said Snape’s cold voice. “Let go of all emotion. . . .” But Harry’s anger at Snape continued to pound through his veins like venom. Let go of his anger? He could as easily detach his legs. . . . “You’re not doing it, Potter. . . . You will need more discipline than this. . . . Focus, now. . . .”
(OotP, 535)
I assume all magic that has to do with the mind requires a clear mind to work correctly. Like, you can obliviate someone without a clear head, but you might delete too much or too little. The clarity of mind is necessary for control and precision which is also required for Legilimency (or to at least understand what you're seeing with it).
Now, we know that pensive memories as I mentioned here can be collected and physically removed from one's mind, as Snape does in his Occlumancy lessons with Harry:
Snape merely raised the wand to his temple and placed its tip into the greasy roots of his hair. When he withdrew it, some silvery substance came away, stretching from temple to wand like a thick gossamer strand, which broke as he pulled the wand away from it and fell gracefully into the Pensieve
(OotP, 533)
But Obliviation doesn't seem to work the same way. We know from Dumbledore that you can try and retrieve obliviated memories or memories buried by false ones that are implanted:
“Never,” said Dumbledore. “He gave, as I say, a full and boastful confession.” “But he had this real memory in him all the time!” “Yes, but it took a great deal of skilled Legilimency to coax it out of him,” said Dumbledore
(HBP, 367)
Lockhart, too, after obliviating himself, still retains some of his memories and mannerisms:
“We’re doing autographs!” Gilderoy told the Healer with another glittering smile. “They want loads of them, won’t take no for an answer! I just hope we’ve got enough photographs!” “Listen to him,” said the Healer, taking Lockhart’s arm and beaming fondly at him as though he were a precocious two-year-old. “He was rather well known a few years ago; we very much hope that this liking for giving autographs is a sign that his memory might be coming back a little bit
(OotP, 510)
This suggests that unlike what Snape did with the pensive Obliviate doesn't really remove the memory from the mind, just severs the connections to the memory within the brain, but it's still there and could still be retrieved partially (or even fully) by a skilled Legilimence (Like Dumbledore) or the mind healers at St. Mongos.
Even so, the memories that return aren't perfect. Dumbledore couldn't get the full memory back from Morfin's mind, likely because Tom hid certain parts better than others. Memories returning, even if they are still present and not fully removed, is no easy task. It requires careful coaxing to not damage the mind and memories further.
Then we have false memories that can be implanted:
“I see we are of one mind,” said Dumbledore. “Certainly, there are many similarities between this death and that of the Riddles. In both cases, somebody else took the blame, someone who had a clear memory of having caused the death —” “Hokey confessed?” “She remembered putting something in her mistress’s cocoa that turned out not to be sugar, but a lethal and little-known poison,” said Dumbledore. “It was concluded that she had not meant to do it, but being old and confused —” “Voldemort modified her memory, just like he did with Morfin!” “Yes, that is my conclusion too,” said Dumbledore.
(HBP, 438-439)
This magic is different from both Legilimency and Obliviation but requires the same clear mind (I assume). What I expect it does is the opposite of the spell that removes a memory entirely to be placed in a pensive. Essentially placing a new memory in.
Now, we know memories can be edited once they're outside someone's brain (be it a copy or the actual memory):
As several of the boys tittered, something very odd happened. The whole room was suddenly filled with a thick white fog, so that Harry could see nothing but the face of Dumbledore, who was standing beside him. Then Slughorn’s voice rang out through the mist, unnaturally loudly, “You’ll go wrong, boy, mark my words.”
(HBP, 370)
So, I think making a false memory works the same way. You take a memory from yourself (a copy) or remove a memory from the target, edit it as heavily as necessary, and then place it in someone's mind the way you would a removed memory. It is probably the same spell Snape used to return the pensive memories to him after the Occlumancy lessons:
and hurried toward the office door. As he opened it he glanced back at Snape, who had his back to Harry and was scooping his own thoughts out of the Pensieve with the tip of his wand and replacing them carefully inside his own head.
(OotP, 538)
Now, a bit more about editing memories. This is a complex skill and not something everyone is doing. Memories in HP are more like frozen fragments in time than just memories. We see it in SWM that Harry can listen in on the Marauders when Snape isn't near them. The memories are perfect in detail and "remember" more than a person naturally would. So, even though in SWM Snape wasn't listening to the Marauders, he still heard them in his pariphary. So their conversation was in his memory even if he couldn't actively recall it.
Basically, calling them memories is a little misleading. They are memories, but they also perfectly capture a moment in a way human memory almost never would. It captures everything your senses get from the scene, even the bits your brain would usually filter out because you don't need all that information.
That's why editing them is probably so hard. Because there is a lot of detail and it all has to be perfected if it's to be viewed in a pensive.
That being said, if the memory is placed in someone's mind without the intention of them viewing the memory outside their own recollection, it doesn't have to be perfect. As I mentioned, compared to how the pensive shows memories, human recollection is very flawed. If something is missing from your memory of a scene a few years ago, you won't get suspicious someone replaced it, you'll think you forgot a detail.
So editing memories into someone's mind is much easier than memories that go into a pensive. It's possible Slyghorn's edited memory wouldn't have felt edited inside a mind, since the brain would fill in the lack of visuals on its own (the brain just does things like that) but in a pensive, there is no human brain to finish his work for him, so the edit is glaringly obvious.
This is, like, all I have to say about mind magic off the top of my head, I believe, hope this answers your ask.

Who was The Second Hokage?
The Second Hokage of the Hidden Leaf Village was Tobirama Senju of the Senju clan.
The younger brother of First Hokage and founder of the Hidden Leaf, Hashirama Senju, Tobirama was born during the Era of Warring States. He knew violence from an early age, both because of the circumstances of the time period, where clans warred against each other constantly, and the Senju clan's unique position within the era. The Senju were one of the most powerful clans at the time and constantly warred against the Uchiha clan. That specific conflict hit very close to home for Tobirama; himself and his elder brother Hashirama were the only two out of the original four Senju siblings who survived until adulthood. His other two brothers, Kawarama and Itama, were both killed by the Uchiha clan. When Hashirama and Madara Uchiha's friendship was destroyed by their respective clans using it as a way to stage a surprise attack on the other, Tobirama was brought along. Eventually, Hashirama and Madara became the leaders of their respective clans and faced each other in battle, and Tobirama killed Madara's younger brother, Izuna Uchiha.
Later, Hashirama felled Madara and urged him to join the Senju and end the era of death. Madara gave Hashirama the chance to kill Tobirama or himself to show his dedication, but later stopped him from doing the latter. Together, Hashirama and Madara founded the Hidden Leaf Village. When Hashirama became the First Hokage, Tobirama played an important role as Hashirama's advisor. Indeed, it's evident that Tobirama held a lot of respect for his eldest brother, and he supported him throughout his tenure as Hokage.
Tobirama was a stoic and pragmatic man. In childhood, he found himself dragged into his clan's conflict, though he believed that conflict was needless and could be avoided by casting aside emotions and enacting regulations ("Naruto: Shippuden," , episode 367, VIZ media). He followed that philosophy through adulthood, remaining largely calm and rational in conflict and balancing Hashirama's idealism with his own rational and cautious thinking. He was also noted to be a sensory type ninja -- pretty neat!
After Hashirama's death, Tobirama became the Second Hokage. Though not as famous as his brother's tenure, Tobirama's reign is widely regarded as one of the most influential on the current state of the village. He founded many current institutions, including the Chunin Exams, the Academy, and the ANBU Black Ops, and establishing the Uchiha clan as part of the Konoha Police Force; the Reanimation Jutsu and the Flying Raijin Technique are also credited to him (Ronquillo, 2023).
Though he is often criticized for his treatment of the Uchiha Clan, it came from a long history. Having been born in the Era of Warring States and seen the Uchiha Clan's destructive power, it was not entirely without reason that Tobirama mistrusted them. However, that criticism is not unfounded; Tobirama advised Hashirama not to name Madara the First Hokage and later became one of the reasons why the Uchiha were physically and socially removed from the village. In my personal opinion, however, I find it possible that Tobirama was keenly aware of how Madara's dedication towards his clan could turn dangerous and kept that in mind going into the future. He may have been aware of the bitterness that Madara could be fostering, seeing as Hashirama got to keep his brother and Madara hadn't -- Tobirama himself killed Izuna. That's just a historian's conjecture, though.
Tobirama was killed by Kinkaku and Ginkaku during the First Shinobi World War, and he passed the mantle of Hokage on to Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Third Hokage ("Tobirama Senju," para. 8, Narutopedia).
Tobirama Senju is not the most famous of the Hokage, but his contributions to the Leaf cannot be underestimated. He saw the foundation of the village and later led it, establishing many of the institutions we've come to know today.
That's all for today's lesson! Thanks for reading!

Reducing Medical Errors in the Modern Healthcare Setting One of the biggest challenges impacting healthcare providers are the total number of medical errors that occur on a regular basis. These areas are problematic, as they are adversely effecting the safety and quality of care provided. This is because nurses are often overwhelmed from the increasing number of responsibilities and regulations. (Orgeas, 2010) For example, a study that was conducted by Orgeas determined that the most critical departments (such as: the ICU) are facing these challenges with him saying, " Identifying medical errors (MEs) that serve as indicators for iatrogenic risk is crucial for purposes of reporting and prevention. An observational prospective multicenter cohort study of these MEs was conducted from March 27 to April 3, 2006, in 70 ICUs; 16 (23%) centers were audited. Harm from MEs was collected using specific scales. Fourteen types of MEs were selected as indicators; 1,192 MEs were reported for 1,369 patients, and 367 (26.8%) patients experienced at least 1 ME (2.1/1,000 patient-days). The most common MEs were insulin administration errors (185.9/1,000 d of insulin treatment). Of the 1,192 medical errors, 183 (15.4%) in 128 (9.3%) patients were adverse events that were followed by one or more clinical consequences (n = 163) or that required one or more procedures or treatments (n = 58). By multivariable analysis, having two or more adverse events was an independent risk factor for ICU mortality (odds ratio, 3.09; 95% confidence interval, 1.30 -- 7.36; P = 0.039). The impact of medical errors on mortality indicates an urgent need to develop prevention programs." (Orgeas, 2010) This is showing how mistakes are becoming more common. To prevent them, graduate nurses must be trained to deal with the challenges in today's healthcare environment. This will be accomplished by creating a lesson plan that is focused on the rationale, target audience, developing a questionnaire, discussing the goals / objectives and the resources. Together, these different elements will show how this program can address the most pressing issues well into the future. Description and Rationale Medical errors are something that is a direct contributor of rising healthcare costs. In a study that was conducted by Encinosa (2008). He found that medial errors will increase expenses between $646 and $28 thousand annually. This normally occurs within 90 days after the procedure or the time a patient is discharged from the hospital. To deal with these challenges, requires using graduate nurses in conjunction with RNs and LPNs. (Encinosa, 2008) Evidence of this can be seen with Encinosa saying, " We find that the costs of patient safety events are considerably higher when we address all of these postoperative costs following the initial hospitalization. In fact, for excess payments due to the infections PSI class, the total excess payments during the entire 90-day episode are 28% larger than the excess payments incurred during the initial hospitalization. This large difference in the return on patient safety could make many interventions much more cost-effective than previously thought. For example, we found that increasing the RN/LPN mix to the 75th percentile and raising the number of licensed nurse hours to the 75th percentile saved $6.9 billion in 2002 costs by reducing adverse events, ignoring physician and post-discharge costs. By this estimate, the investment is not cost-effective for hospitals; the cost-savings would need to be 23% higher for the hospital to break-even on the investment. It is quite possible that the post-discharge cost savings achieved by reducing adverse events might just be enough for the hospital to break-even on the investment in nursing." (Encinosa, 2008) This is showing how improved training can have an impact on decreasing errors, costs and liabilities. In many cases, medical errors will have an impact on the emotional and mental well being of healthcare professionals. According to Boyle (2011), there is an adverse impact on physicians with him concluding that: 61% reported worried about future errors taking place. 44% stated they lost confidence after these events. 42% said they are having sleeping difficulties. 42% stated they were feeling more stressed at work and are less satisfied with their careers. 13% reported damage to their reputations from these mistakes. (Boyle, 2011) This is problematic, as it will have a negative impact on the confidence on all healthcare professionals. As they will question their abilities and have feelings of helplessness. The close relationship between doctors and nurses means that these effects are wide ranging. To prevent these challenges, requires that more training must be provided to graduate nurses. This will help them to become capable of adjusting with numerous challenges. In many ways, one could argue that this is the key for improving quality and reducing costs well into the future. Target Audience The target audience is focusing on individuals who have received graduate degrees in nursing. In general, most of these people have experience and learned advanced skills in a practicum setting. The problem is that they will face difficulties given the scope of their new roles and responsibilities. At the heart of these challenges, are frustrations with the bureaucracy and ability to meet the changing needs of patients. In some cases, they are powerless to prescribe medication and cannot make adjustments to their treatment protocol. A good example of these can be seen with a study that was conducted by the International Counsel of Nurses and Pfizer. They found a number of troubling results which are directly contributing to a rise in errors. The most notable include: 92% reporting time constraints in working with patients and other healthcare professionals. 48% believe more of the workload is passed onto them. 42% are concerned that there is a lack of training and professionalism in new and experienced nurses. 46% are viewing their careers worse than they did 5 years ago. 48% believed that they will continue to work in the field 5 years from now. 70% want to prescribe medication and make adjusts to the patient's treatment protocol. While, only 20% have the qualifications and authority to do so. These figures are showing that the target audience is nurses who are experienced and want to expand their skills. (Cole, 2009) However, at the same time, the training will focus on those individuals who have recently graduated from advanced nursing programs. In these situations, students are new to the field of healthcare and must learn the proper techniques when working inside a modern setting. This is because they play a major role by serving as a collaborator that understands the long-term effects on patients and other colleagues. This means they will exchange information with these stakeholders to improve quality. Throughout the process, they are striving to build upon the standards of accountability and available treatment options. In the future, they understand what is happening and the effects of treatment protocols. This improves collaboration, professionalism and teamwork. As a result, both groups are targeted based upon the role they play in a healthcare environment and the impact they will have in reducing medical errors. The psychomotor skills they learn will help them in achieving these larger objectives. This is the point, they can make a difference and enhance quality. (Masters, 2013) Learner Questionnaire To understand what issues are impacting students requires examining their strengths, weaknesses, attitudes and beliefs. This will be accomplished using a questionnaire that is focusing on a number of areas. The most notable include: experience, education and opinions about the field of medicine. The process will focus on using the mixed method approach to comprehend which variables are the most important. According Odell (2009), those programs are concentrating on improving the beliefs, practices and the approach that is utilized by healthcare professionals with her saying, "Failure to recognize or act on deterioration of general ward patients has resulted in the implementation of early warning scoring systems and critical care outreach teams. The evidence of effectiveness of these systems is unclear. Possible mechanisms for low effectiveness may be inconsistent recording of patient observations by ward staff, or inconsistent application of 'calling criteria' for outreach teams, even when observations have been recorded. Three broad search categories were used: nursing observations, physiological deterioration and general ward patients. All research designs describing nursing observations (vital signs) on deteriorating adult patients in general hospital wards were included. Fourteen studies met the inclusion and quality criteria. The findings were grouped into four main themes: recognition; recording and reviewing; reporting; and responding and rescuing. The main findings suggest that intuition plays an important part in nurses' detection of deterioration, and vital signs are used to validate intuitive feelings. The process is highly complex and influenced by many factors, including the experience and education of bedside nurses and their relationship with medical staff. Greater understanding of the context within which deterioration is detected and reported will facilitate the design of more effective education and support systems." (Odell, 2009) This is showing how any program must adapt to new realities and change the way nurses are trained. Once this happens, is the point they are more responsive to the needs of stakeholders and can decrease medical related errors. In the long-term, this will improve professionalism, reduce costs and enhance quality. Goals The teaching plan will focus on achieving several different goals. The most notable include: Apply a practical application for improving quality and safety. Helping students to adjust with challenges they will face in a busy healthcare setting. Learning effective communication and leadership skills. Understanding how to apply concepts in the classroom with the issues impacting patients. How the person is trying to actively change their behavior. The individual's lifestyle choices and the way they interact with their environment. The influence of healthcare professionals on lifespan and care. Changing the person's lifestyle and environment to making lasting changes. (Kelly, 2013) These different goals will help to focus the program by helping nurses to become responsive to the issues they will face. As a result, this will enhance their professionalism and provide skills they can use in a practical setting. In many ways, this will improve their capacity to work as a team and enhance leadership when it is needed. Objectives There are a total of the three learning objectives all nurses in the course must focus on to include: taking the blood pressure, placing intravenous lines and administering medication. The training will be divided into a series of modules to include: the traditional classroom, interactive instruction and monitoring / participating in real life experiences. Traditional classroom training is an initial discussion about various skills and their significance.. At the same time, there is a focus on following certain procedures and the effects it can have. This provides students with insights about the challenges colleagues and the best ways to address them. After this occurs, is when everyone will complete a written exam. It is using multiple choice and two essay questions. A passing score is 75% and above is required for everybody. (Kovner, 2011) Interactive instruction is when students will learn the proper techniques through online and mobile applications. This is occurring by showing students a number of videos, practicing what they learned (in the form of interactive learning via numerous applications) and talking about key concepts. These skills improve through repetition and making certain that everyone following the best practices in the process. Moreover, it is teaching them the best psychomotor skills. (Kovner, 2011) Participating in real life situations is helping students to work in a healthcare setting. This requires watching others and them applying specific skill sets. They are used in correlation with other professionals. In this situations, the primary strategy is to assist students in comprehending the environment and the issues they will encounter using psychomotor skills. At the end, everyone will take an online and practical exam. The online part is using select videos to understand what is occurring and the long-term effects. The practical exam is applying what was learned through conducting an actual demonstration. This prepares them for real world situations by having a passing score is 75% and above. Week 5: Platformization
The Platformization of Digital Citizenship
Beyond conventional conceptions of civic engagement, the idea of "digital citizenship" has come to encompass new meanings created by digital platforms. Choi and Cristol (2021) point out that the platformization of online spaces is a prerequisite for the intersection of social justice, participatory democracy, and digital citizenship.
The Power and Limitations of Platforms
At the core of modern digital citizenship are digital platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and TikTok. These enable people to engage expressively, whether through activism, political discussion, or information exchange, therefore enabling participatory democracy. An excellent illustration of how the internet platform may coordinate networked action, challenge hegemonic power, and give voice to marginalized viewpoints is the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement (Choi & Cristol, 2021; Bennett, 2012; DeLuca, Lawson, & Sun, 2012).
Nevertheless, the same websites that facilitate participation can produce systemic inequities. The monetization of user data, content control procedures, and algorithmic discrimination all lead to marginalization (Noble, 2018; Emejulu & McGregor, 2019). Because platform governance is usually based on commercial interests, it will limit what is seen and whose voice is heard, giving priority to engagement rates above democratic debate (Choi & Cristol, 2021; Van Deth, 2014).
Rethinking Digital Citizenship in a Platformized Era
Additionally, digital citizenship education has to be intersectional in order to promote a more fair and equitable digital world. According to Choi and Cristol (2021), lessons in digital literacy should not only educate users how to navigate virtual environments but also how to critically examine the power structures that are incorporated into them. It entails acknowledging how social variables such as class, gender, and race shape digital involvement (Crenshaw, 2013).
In the end, digital citizenship has changed due to platformization. Platforms have given us unprecedented opportunities to participate, but they also force us to critically rethink how democracy, fairness, and justice may continue to be at the forefront of digital involvement.

Day 367 Art Meditation January 30, 2024
Sometimes you just have to run outside, go to where the beauty is, savor, savor, savor, try to catch it with a camera and bring it back home. It’s always Mother Nature reminding me quietly what pure joy is - an owl doing its calling at night time with the windows open, this incredible sunset, the coast line, the views, ocean, weather, and O !, the sky. Breathe it all in … Breathe it all out.
It was a sacred hour, with about 40 other people just silently feeling, smelling, touching, hearing the beauty.
The idea of Inner Peace being something we can choose every moment - no matter what the negative components we may be surrounded with - is so powerful, and it’s the lesson I have to learn over and over…
To be clear, living near these beautiful surroundings is not what makes me Zen or happy.
Thich Nhat Hanh and buddhism is a constant theme in G and my life together. There is a Thich Nhat Hanh quote - “When you realize you’re irritated, half-smile at once. Inhale and exhale quietly, maintaining the half smile for three breaths.” This is not a natural act, thanks to our ego-spaces.
Being in a relationship with a Buddha-type is not the key to my happiness either, although it is our mutual sacred inner space. We love what TNH has to say about growth, peace and in particular about relationships and true love. Just in case you think relationships are fun, the second I get pissy about him, I have to look at myself, and vice versa. That’s a Buddhist idea: go into your heart.
The irritation - well, one of them - for me is that G is so much better at Buddhist ideas than I am, hilariously - I mean who competes about Buddhism? You see why I have problems. G has been blossoming the last 12 months in a way that is all of his own making, with the constant decision of how to shape his thoughts, combined with actions.
G has also had so many more years of putting ideas into practice than I have. My running joke is that his soon-to-be-published-book is all about me: all the ways I find to suffer, he’s written a book around cracking the code, piece by piece. Not that I listen, exactly. I have to go my own way, as we all do…
The other morning we agreed that we are mirrors of each other, encouraging each other to grow, heal and come out of our shells.
◎
For my Art print for sale, G came up with the words, which are very Thich Nhat Hanh-esq: “On my in-breath I smile, on my out-breath I smile”.
In this abstract art I see my surroundings: sunsets, coasts, views, vistas, spaciousness, hills, sky, sun, moon and healing.
If you are interested in an Art-print, check out my store - link in bio. (The Merch is coming soon.)
xoxo, Anne

Tashia lost 69 pounds
New Post has been published on https://eazydiet.net/tashia-lost-69-pounds/
Tashia lost 69 pounds
Transformation of the Day: Tashia lost 69 pounds. Her journey began when she had several serious health scares related to high blood pressure, anxiety, PTSD from an abusive relationship, and agoraphobia. She put in the work by focusing on her mental health, improving her eating habits, and working out at home.
Social Media: Instagram, Snapchat, & Tiktok: @Shiatrubeauty94
What was your motivation? What inspired you to keep going, even when you wanted to give up? Honestly, I wanted to have a future and live and be around my family. My mom, family, and friends are what inspired me. I guess you can also say I inspired myself, as weird as it may sound, because I usually never give myself enough credit for anything that I do. So now I’m giving myself credit and loving myself more.
How did you change your eating habits? To be honest, when I tried to work out and lose weight, I could never really lose it. Then, on March 31, 2023, I was in my bathroom, and suddenly, I had this rush feeling, and my heart started beating so fast (like I was scared about something, but I wasn’t scared of anything at the time).
So I called 911 and took a Bayer aspirin. They came and said my heart was good, but my blood pressure was 225/118. I asked them to take me to the hospital. They checked me out and sent me home. A week later, it happened again in the middle of the mall. I returned to the hospital, and they said my heart was good and my blood was high again. They sent me home, and stayed with my mother for almost a month.
I stopped eating because I was scared to eat. I was going through a lot. I had cut out all junk food, restaurant food, sodas…I cut out all of it at once. I think that was dangerous, but I was scared. Eventually, I started eating again and realized I lost 20 pounds.
One day I was visiting, and I had to have my brother stay with me to help. I went to the hospital again for the same symptoms, and everything was fine. However, my primary doctor gave me high blood pressure meds. She said she thinks all this results from anxiety, panic attacks, PTSD, and agoraphobia. Also, I had a really bad case of vertigo.
So I started praying more and attending my church services on Sunday online. Eventually, I started researching what I can eat and what to avoid. That has helped.
I lost a little of my balance, but I got it back. Now I’m talking to a therapist to help me learn more about mental illness and what to do to help with it. The reason I have those illnesses is that in 2019, I was shot by my ex-boyfriend in my left leg. I was with him for six years, and there was a lot of mental and verbal abuse. In the end, it got physical. He was playing with a gun, it went off, and I got shot.
Currently, I eat a lot of fresh fruit and veggies. I cook my own food using avocado oil, and bake or air fry my food as well.
What is your workout routine? I started doing a walking routine at home for 20-30 mins and a standing exercise routine for about the same amount of time.
How often did you work out? Every other day
What was your starting weight? My starting weight was 367 pounds.
What is your current weight? My current weight is 298 pounds.
What is your height? 5’8″
When did you start your journey? Been on this journey for years, but March 2023 is when this part of my journey started.
Is weight loss surgery part of your journey? No, it wasn’t.
What is the biggest lesson you’ve learned so far? I learned to love myself more, put myself first, and that God has my back.
What advice do you have for women who want to lose weight? Do it for yourself and love yourself. Don’t let anyone or any situation change your natural you.

And Here Be Fic Recs
Grab a slice of your favourite cake, and settle down with these tasty stories about Darsilla.
Title: Ye Gods And Little Fishes Author: beer_good Rating: Mature (Sex, Vampire-Typical Violence) Length: 868 words Setting: Pre-1901 Summary: The first, aborted, trip to China, and why they never got there. The Why: This is a gorgeously atmospheric little piece. beer_good is a master of short fic, and this is no exception. The character voices ring wonderfully true, and the story gives a lovely insight into who the girls are, and into their relationship, during a fun little misdemeanour on a thwarted journey.
Title: In Pursuit of the Appropriate Man Author: lillianmorgan Rating: PG-13 (Violence/Murder) Length: 1693 words Setting: 1860s Rome Summary: After an argument with Darla, Angelus leaves, and Drusilla is devastated. Darla decides to take her out to learn a quick lesson about men. The Why: This short fic from 2006 perfectly displays Darla's competence, independence, and ingenuity - traits that make her both a fearsome vampire and a beloved character. Newly-turned Drusilla is creepy and sweet, and Darla's thoughtful instruction about the taste of a certain type of blood comes across as genuinely caring. The romantic descriptions of a Rome evening bring to life this delightful account of two powerful women who do not need the attention of men to enjoy themselves.
Title: Sanguine Author: beer_good Rating: M (Violence, implied sex) Length: 367 words Setting: Season 2 of AtS Summary: Missing scene from s2e10 Reunion, after Angel locks the doors and leaves Darla and Drusilla to do what they want with Wolfram & Hart's lawyers. The Why: This is a lovely little glimpse of the joy Drusilla feels after being reunited with Darla. Dru's point of view feels very true to character, particularly her thoughts on family and what it means to be whole, and the sheer happiness and exhilaration she's experiencing during the wine cellar massacre and the tryst with Darla afterwards is palpable in the way it's written. Of course, knowing how this storyline plays out casts a bittersweet feeling over the scene, but it is beautiful while it lasts.
Title: Phoenix Author: zulu Rating: Teen+ (Implied sex, Canon-typical violence) Length: 267 words Setting: Season 2 of AtS Summary: The fire is beautiful before it burns. The Why: Zulu gives a poetic flashfic that takes a look over events in LA from Drusilla's perspective in beautifully lyrical prose, giving a really nice insight into her relationship with Darla from her point of view. This piece has some gorgeous imagery, at turns playful and bittersweet, and just the right amount of off-kilter.
Title: Never Say There Weren’t Leftovers Author: shallowness Rating: Teen+ (Implied Canon-typical violence) Length: 265 words Setting: Pre-Series Summary: Darla asks Drusilla if she had a good time. This is about her answer. The Why: A very fun vignette. Tea for two, it's playful and light, as anger at Drusilla's naughtiness gets sidelined into a delicious game both girls enjoy. Shallowness very deftly uses a rather tiny word count to weave a really intriguing story, painting out the surrounding tale in a way that feels full and colourful.
Each week in the run-up to February Fangfest, we'll be spotlighting a different sub-pair/group within the Fanged Four, because your works (and our love) can be for those individual relationships too! We'll be sharing some fic and art that we adore which depict them, and hope you'll enjoy and go shower the creators in comments and kudos/likes!! And oh, hey, if it serves as propaganda for you to go create your own things? Win-win.
This week's spotlight is on Darsilla. Whether it's affectionate waterboarding, shopping trips, watching their boys fight, or helping make a few new vacancies at a law firm, these two girls have always enjoyed spending a good time together. It was Darla who was the first to notice a human Drusilla, tying them together from the very beginning, and they come to clearly care for each other even if it's not always smooth sailing, their relationship is one that's often overlooked but deliciously layered. When Darla is dying, Drusilla is the one who brings her back into the fold of the family in an effort to save her, and from there we get to see much more of them as a pair as they wreak wonderful havoc before sadly separating.

What is a smile to a war? : bnha 367
Have you ever wanted to die? Wish for the world to end? Have you ever lose yourself for a couple of minutes and felt like you wanted something really bad to happen to yourself or everybody else?
Has someone ever made you laugh in one of those cases— and just by that you realized how much you didn't want any of it to happen?
You were just upset.
Hold this concept in your mind, would you? Because the heart of the pro-hero thesis of bnha is that a hero not only saves your body or gets rid of the villains threatening you— they also save you from yourself sometimes, from the darkness within you; they prevent future tragedies with the force of their kindness.

Kid Deku watching a video of All Might's debut:
And he's smiling!! Mom... no matter what kind of trouble you're in... he'll save you with a smile.
⠀When we were first introduced to Deku and his admiration for All Might, the one thing the story made emphasis on was All Might's smile. Why?
Because if you're afraid and you see the person rescuing you smile, you relax, it makes you feel better, it tones down your fear and anxiety.
It gives you hope.
I won't be able to put all the panels I wish I could show you to support this meta, so I'll rely on your good memory about the manga, okay?
⠀
During the Hero License arc, we learnt that being a hero is much more than just knowing how to fight. We already knew part of it from All Might's first session (take care of the situation with the minimum amount of damage to both the property and the people surrounding the fight).
We learnt that the way a hero saves a person matters. Their words, their attitude, how they carry themselves and how they approach the victims and situations, it all matters.
With Bakugou and Todoroki we learn that the job of a hero also implies daily services, like helping kids and guiding others, stuff Iida Tensei (former pro-hero Ingenium) used to do.
That's an idea that finds its development along many arcs, the maximum point being after the War arc, with Ochako's speech. When heroes were giving up, she reminded them it was not only about defeating the greater evil, but also about wanting to see everybody smile together again.
It is an echo of Nighteye lessons to Deku and Mirio, of course. An echo we see in bnha 367:

A world without smiles or honor... has no... bright future.
⠀As you know, my thesis is based on the idea that the major problem with the hero society was how they forgot what a real hero was, but not because everything was exclusively monetized (it was still part of the problem, I gotta admit). No, the major issue was exposed by Tomura Shigaraki in his first speech in front of the UA staff and students:
Violence became comfortable for the bnha world, mundane even, to the point heroes stop trying to find the root of the problems so they could treat it and the civilians stop trying to help because they thought it was the heroes jobs, not theirs. Serious issues were getting overlooked, the system was getting corrupted and the effort of the heroes was shallow, superficial, even if well-meant.

Tomura/Tenko in his thoughts:
Everyone just passed by, pretending not to see, thinking that some hero would save the day. Who decided to make the world this way?
AFO "rescuing" Tenko, kneeling down to hug him:
You'll be okay now... I am here.
⠀Let's take Nana Shimura as an example; she was a great hero, we all know, the one who trained Toshinori and taught him that the people who smiled when they were afraid were the strongest. However, she was not perfect and she shouldn't be regarded as such. She failed her son and her family, something Kotaro was right about.
Can a hero talk about justice if they sacrifice their families to save others? Why some lives matter more than others? Why are heroes allowed to decide who lives and who dies, instead of helping everyone they can equally in the measure of their context?

Bnha narration:
People... are not born equal.
What is a smile to a war?
You could ask what is the sacrifice of a kid for the safety of the world, right? A life for the safety of the entire planet?
For Endeavor, what were his children and his family for the glory of his name and the glory of the hero industry, for example?
What is Tomura to AFO? Toga to the media?
What is Deku —a quirkless kid— to an entire society of people with quirks and cool abilities?
⠀
We learned it through Kota in the Summer Camp arc and with Eri in the Overhaul arc. Both kids. One of them was a direct victim like Tomura of the hero society, the child of a broken family who had many reasons to hate what pro-heroes were; the other was a kid victim of the discrimination of quirks, a baby abandoned by her mother and used by criminal organizations for power and gain, just exactly what AFO did to Tenko/Tomura.
Deku could save Kota and Eri because he individually cared about them. No one told him there was a problem, he was actively looking. The same with Bakugo at the beginning, Deku didn't need a reason or a command, he didn't need the title or the suit, not even the quirk. He was doing the right thing.
Deku helped Kota because Kota was upset and he wanted to change that. He payed attention to Eri because she was crying. Same reason he found his way to help Bakugo, Todoroki and Iida.
What are they to Deku's journey of defeating AFO? Nothing. And everything.

Tomura talking to Doc Garaki and the LOV:
Every living, breathing thing just rubs me the wrong way. That weight in my heart is never gonna go away. So why not destroy it all?
⠀During his fight with Endeavor, AFO asked Hawks what was evil, what could be categorized as "wrong", why everybody got so easily offended. Then revealed that his main motivation of being a villain was because he wanted to make everyone bitter, everyone, inspired on those comic books villains.
In a way, it means "I am bad, everybody's bad too"
On the other hand, Tomura's motivation to destroy it all comes for the trauma of not being rescued. Why? Didn't he deserve it? Why people wouldn't help him? Isn't it because he must play the part of a villain?
Tenko asked his mother why his father hated him. Tomara also asked the UA staff what was the difference between villains and heroes using violence, the same way Toga asked Uraraka why people wouldn't help or save them (the villains).
There is real inequality in bnha: you have people like Spinner, Shinso, Hawks, Toga, Deku, Aoyama, Dabi, Tomura, Shouto, Hatsume, Aizawa... The list keeps on growing.
There are differences. Preferences even.
If you're a pretty metahuman to be used by the hero commission or a filthy "mutant" with a weak quirk, if you have a spooky quirk or a "villain" quirk, if you're quirkless or your quirk is not flashy enough or powerful enough, if you look creepy or are not "hero material", if you are hero material even if you don't want to be one...
Inequality. Discrimination. Society prescriptions.
AFO almost won, he almost made everyone mad and bitter, including Deku in bnha 367.
⠀
Go read what Nighteye told Mirio again.
The fight against AFO (and what he represents) isn't a fight of just weapons. It was a fight with the hero society itself.
Their indifference, their apathy, their prejudices...
A smile matters in a war because why the fuck would you fight for if the only thing your gonna leave behind is a bunch of broken people who wish they were dead.
Why would you rescue Eri if you're not going to fight everyday with her trauma so that she can be happy? Why would you leave Kota to live in pain and anger without his parents when you can make his life full of light again?
What about the Cultural Festival arc?
Or rescuing Deku from his suicidal mission?
Going for Bakugo and Iida and fighting for Shouto to melt his heart??? Shouto going for Dabi???
This is why what Hawks did to Twice was wrong, because he forgot the principle of a hero:
Every lives matter.
Every smile matters.
The reason Tomura doesn't see a future is 'cause no one has ever showed him otherwise. No one saved him back then and no one has saved him (yet) in 20 years. No one told him he deserved to live and be happy, no one ever stopped and tried to make him smile or laugh or ask him if he had friends or if he liked dogs.
AFO killed Tenko the day he put those hands on him and has been dragging his body around in a parade— and even when Tomura was screaming about pain and injustice and screaming about the problem of the hero society, no one listened to him, no one tried ro reach him.
Dead.
Except Deku sees him.
⠀
Every moment of the manga, every mission and arc, every panel and interaction, it has brought us here: to Deku asking AFO if Tenko/Tomura is still in there.
What is Tenko's smile to the bnha war?
Maybe the end of it. Maybe the defeat of AFO. You have a wounded animal that will try to attack you because it's in pain. Here are your options: you can kill every wounded animal you encounter or you can go search for the cause of their pain and treat it, so the next generations won't arrive at your door full of desperation and rage.
Everyone can be a hero, because everyone can do the right thing, everyone can make others smile, everyone can save someone one day just by telling a joke or being gentle.
⠀
A smile can prevent a war.
Which is more powerful than any weapon which could stop at war.
In summary, bnha is about a society ruled by violence and miscommunication learning that if they don't reach for each other, if they don't try to understand, if their only solution is to erase what make them uncomfortable... they're doomed to dissappear.

hey! i’d like to request any larry johnson x fem reader. he’s like my all time favorite, and is very underrated in my book! thank you for all of your works!
Hey anon! I have to agree, Larry was a pretty awesome character.
It's my birthday (Oct 10) while I'm starting this and it's currently 2:28 AM, and I have to be up in less than 4 hours 🥲
Sorry this is so short! I've been quite busy lately

Guitar Lesson|Larry Johnson x Fem! Reader
.
Your boyfriend, Larry, had always loved music. With various instruments lying around his room and his music player on.
His favorite though, was definitely the electric guitar. You'd seen him play a few times and you always thought he sounded amazing. Needles to say, you were inspired by his raw talent.
So, one day, you were determined to learn how to play. You were laying together in bed, before you spoke up.
"Hey, Larry?"
"Hm? What's up?" He replied.
You hesitated for a second, before answering.
"Could you... Teach me how to play some chords?"
His face immediately lit up, "I've been waiting forever for you to ask me!" He smiled.
He walked over to where his guitar was sitting and picked it up, bringing it over to the bed.
"Come, sit here, I'll sit behind you and guide your hands."
You did as told, crossing your legs as your boyfriend wrapped his arms around you, holding the guitar.
"Let's start with something simple." He thought for a moment, "An E Minor."
He played it once himself for you to see, then guided your fingers to the correct frets.
"If the pressure starts to hurt, just take your fingers off."
You carefully strummed it, smiling at the sound you created.
"Sounded great for your first try!" He exclaimed, kissing your cheek.
He took your through a few more chords, you were able to play them out quite well.
"Y'know this always reminds me of the first day I met you." You spoke.
Larry smiled at the thought, "That's right, you were watching our school band perform!" He exclaimed, replaying the memory in his head.
You watched in amusement as they played in front of you. Your school band had decided to give a performance for a special event. You were too focused on this guy with long brown hair to notice any of the other members. You locked eyes a few times during their performance, and to your surprise, he came introduced himself at the end. It was brief, but you knew you'd fallen for him.
"Guess I made the right choice coming up to you, eh?" He smiled, sharing a kiss before laying back down together.

K-Pop Spotlight: Stray Kids
Stray Kids are back with their noisiest and most memorable album yet. To celebrate, we caught up with the self-producing boy group to talk about their second full album NOEASY, the new single “Thunderous,” and some of the lessons they’ve learned in the three years since their debut. Check out our full interview below!
Get your Tumblr 2021 Year in Review →
Where did the inspiration for the album title NOEASY come from? Would you consider your Stray Kids sound to be noisy, and do you like that description?
Bang Chan: We did a little wordplay with the words “no easy” and “noisy,” meaning that in a world where things aren’t so easy, we will be noisier and noisier. I actually don’t mind people describing our music as noisy ’cause that’s what we’re trying to be. The loudest noise that everyone will remember!
Changbin: Since our title songs are typically powerful and performance-based, I’m sure some people think our music is a little noisy. With that said, some people enjoy that sort of energy. We also get energized and have fun on stage, so I think the expression “noisy” is a positive thing. The title NOEASY is a spirited response to all the noise that distracts us and gets in our way—to say that we’re not an easy match and we won’t back down.
You celebrated your third anniversary as a group earlier this year (congrats!)—what are some of the (harder) lessons you’ve learned over the years as a group that produces all of their own music?
Hyunjin: During these past three years, the things I’ve learned are the love of STAY and how to love more. Additionally, through countless performances, I think my stage skills have also improved.
HAN: I was amazed and thankful to learn that the songs I write and create can move people. I hope to continue making good music that will move more people and continue to touch their hearts!
Felix: I learned that it’s hard to reach many goals in life. However, over the past years, I’ve learned to ask for help and feedback from my members. As time goes by, we’ve strengthened our team play to overcome anything.
What’s the first song you remember loving, or what is one of your recent favorite songs?
Bang Chan: Out of Stray Kids songs? “Hellevator” because it was our first official song as Stray Kids.
Lee Know: I was told that when I was a child, I used to dance and sing along to the music on the radio that my parents would listen to. I think that’s when I first started loving music, but I can’t remember what those songs were!
Changbin: “개똥벌레” (T/N: This song translates to “Firefly” in Korean and is a nursery song.)
Hyunjin: I think my favorite song is “Secret Secret” because HAN and I share the same emotional wavelength, and the lyrics really resonated with me.
HAN: I really liked “D” by DEAN!
Felix: “Grow Up” is a song we always sang together with our STAY during our concerts and performances. This song brings back a lot of unforgettable memories for me.
Seungmin: Kim Dong Ryul’s “Drunken Truth”
I.N: My favorite song from this album is “Thunderous!”
Many of you were really into anime and exercise as your stress-relief/hobbies the last time we spoke. Tell us a little bit about what you are into these days, outside of your activities as Stray Kids.
Bang Chan: Umm, I’m still exercising daily, and these days I’ve been using Felix’s Switch to play games.
Lee Know: I either cook or go to a cafe to read a book.
Changbin: I like working out!
Hyunjin: I study art and draw. I like to have my own time of healing in my free time by watching other artists on YouTube.
HAN: I still watch anime, go on YouTube, work on music, and exercise. I think I tend to gravitate more towards things I can do at home rather than outside.
Felix: If I have the time, I go out bike riding, walk in the park, or look for some new recipes to cook for the people around me.
Seungmin: I’ve been enjoying taking vocal lessons and playing the guitar sometimes! I’ve also developed a deep interest in coffee, so I’ve been exploring different machines and flavors.
I.N: I recharge by laying in bed and watching YouTube or movies.
On these last few albums, we’ve seen some unit songs developed outside of the usual 3RACHA team. Do your members ever surprise or excite you by what they come up with when you’re working as a new unit?
Bang Chan: Yes, it’s always surprising and exciting! It’s really unexpected, and their ideas are really good, too, so it’s always fun to work as units.
Changbin: It’s even more inspiring and helpful when I hear other ideas outside of my own.

Check out our full interview below!
Can you tell us the inspiration behind your new mini-album, Taste of Love, and what you hope your fans take away from it?
DAHYUN: The taste of love has very diverse charms: sweet, happy, special, etc. I hope our fans can share this warm feeling with each other and build memorable moments with TWICE this summer through Taste of Love.
TZUYU: The title track of Taste of Love, “Alcohol-Free,” is made from J. Y. Park’s inspirations. Other tracks’ lyrics were written by some of the members, which have their own interpretation about what Love tastes like. I hope our fans can experience the different definitions of taste of love through our new album.
The three different versions of your mini-album represent Taste, Fallen, and In Love—what do each of those terms mean to you, outside of your music and fans?
NAYEON: K-food for Taste, because K-food is always tasty. For Fallen, I would say spicy food and ice vanilla latte, and baby blue color for In Love. I’ve fallen in love with baby blue color, which is why the song I wrote the lyrics for in this album is about baby blue love.
CHAEYOUNG: All three terms expressed the feeling of falling in love after tasting. I can relate to this feeling when I eat strawberries. ONCEs know how much I love strawberries.
Who and/or what influences your overall aesthetic—from your music to your style to your fashion sense?
CHAEYOUNG: I think the music I create and the fashion I wear naturally reflect my favorite movie characters, photos, and collectibles. Therefore, I try as much as possible to discover new styles and to love what I already love deeper so that I can broaden my aesthetic.
SANA: My feeling at that exact moment. I try to express my current thoughts, feelings, atmosphere, mood, and interest through my aesthetic, so I guess the answer to this question is my own self.
This year marks six incredible and busy years since your debut—what advice would you give to women who are just starting out in the music industry?
MINA: Instead of copying others, if you really spend time with yourself and find your true self, you’ll be able to shine brighter than any other people. Loving yourself and believing what you think is right is the most important advice I’d like to give to future stars.
JIHYO: There is a saying in Korea, “Well begun is half done.” The courage to start itself can propel you to achieve so many things. Instead of doubting yourself, love yourself more and the work you make for the world. Before you know, you’ll be at the top of your world.
What is your self-care routine?
TZUYU: I always try to stay fit and healthy so that I can be with ONCE as long as I want and deliver the best performances! This motivation helps me take care of myself.
MOMO: Eating a lot and staying healthy by exercising. My self-care tip is to laugh out loud and smile since staying happy is the most powerful and important self-care routine. I try to spread this tip with TWICE’s members and ONCEs by making them laugh.
What’s your favorite lyric from your discography?
JEONGYEON: These days, I’m into “YOU IN MY HEART.” I want to perform this song in front of ONCE and treasure ONCEs’ individual faces and cheer in my heart.
JIHYO: I love the lyrics of “Feel Special.” The overarching storyline behind this song is that I’m able to smile again because of you. I especially like the first part of the song, “There are one of those days. Days when I suddenly feel all alone. When I feel like I don’t belong anywhere and my head is hanging down,” because everyone can relate to this moment. I hope “Feel Special” can energize whoever is experiencing these days out there!
If you could have dinner with one person, living or dead, who would it be and why?
DAHYUN: My dad. Because I wasn’t able to spend a lot of time with my family after debut due to living apart, I would like to have healing moments eating warm and delicious dinner with my family.
MOMO: If it’s just one person, it’s too hard to decide, because there are so many people I like, including our very special fans, ONCE! If I can’t have dinner with each and every one of them, I’d rather have dinner by myself while connecting through livestream, eating all the food for ONCE.

Meet the Artist: Nastia
We’re currently highlighting some of our favorite women K-pop fan artists on Tumblr! Check back on Mondays for an introduction to these talented ladies.
Hello, I’m Nastia! I’m a full-time architect based in Russia, currently trying to balance my work and hobby—digital art. I’ve been into K-pop for six years, and it’s been an endless source of inspiration for me, with its music and strong visual concepts. My ultimate favorite groups are SHINee and Red Velvet, and I’m really weak for their main dancers, Seulgi and Taemin! In my art, I like to use vibrant colors and clean shapes, with occasional animated elements. Also, I really like drawing pretty girls. Nice to meet you!
Thanks for sharing your art with us, Nastia! For more of her incredible work, check out and follow @anajuise!
