look, I'm a tired demographics student with too much time on their hands and an undying love for polls, so..

I'm also deeply interested in fandom demographics... from my 4 long long (yet relatively short) years in this fandom I've noticed that the Les Mis fanbase does tend to be older than other fandoms I've been in, (though this obviously depends on the platform you're on, for example, the falsettos fandom on tiktok seems to have a lot of 12-15 year olds, to my great surprise) and I just like analysing why that is! I know other fandoms have/have had sort of "fandom demographics" polls which I've always found super interesting... while I'm not necessarily trying to recreate that, I do find this interesting to look at!

Needless to say the more people see this the more representative and accurate the results will be so PLEASEEE reblog thiss and make my little demographer-to-be heart happy

why i want an adults only space

a main reason is i like to post horny content and share explicit fics and don't wanna be a creep around kids.

teens you guys are cool, i don't mind you following me here bc i trust y'all to self determine what's appropriate for you in public spaces, and i definitely used to be that teen in fandom *redacted* years ago.

but when it comes to one on one interaction ie. discord where it tends to get a bit more personal, i just worry about being too open around minors.

i've also had people say to me that don't want to be in a chat with minors and i want there to be a space for us 🫶🏻

also being a queer sw is isolating in servers not only bc of whorephobia run wild with civ moderators but also bc if it's got minors i feel like every part of my life is "nsfw" and like i'm held under a higher scrutiny in that aspect. it just feels safer if there aren't any minors around.

I feel like it would be funny (probably OOC but funny) if enjolras and combeferre had online accounts that neither of them knew about and they constantly got into inter-leftist discourse about the role of violence in protest and reform vs. revolution

combeferre posts a ton of socdem stuff talking about how peaceful reform is important and enjolras posts anarchist content threatening violent action against the oppressive state. they leave passive aggressive comments on each others' posts and get into fights about whether robespierre was right or not.

eventually they figure it out and they're both so fucking embarrassed. because they get along so well in real life, so what's different? probably it's that all the nuance and context is stripped away online so two like-minded irl friends with some minor disagreements can become bitter discoursers in a matter of days. courfeyrac makes fun of them for it for months to come.
