I've been having a lot of stress and subsequently migraines recently. Everyone say thanks to job hunting for my head angry.

(I am still learning to draw chubby ppl so please add some weight to TK in ur minds BCS my hands refused to draw them how I want to)

You can't see it but Gigi and Kate have stretch marks BCS they deserve to be hot and actually realistic. I have so many things to say about their looks and stuff lemme just break the post so it's not a wall of text.

SO in OS magic can influence how you look, things you like or want on your body can be added/changed over time. The best example is Mikhail, since we know they do not look like the rest of their family, but instead look like the General. The person who actually took care of Mikhail and he sees as his family.

Now, magic changes in appearance aren't limited to such cases like Mikhail. But rather basically anyone. It's not an instant overnight change, BCS u know. Your body has to physically change and adjust. And for those without magic, potions can be made, and smaller changes can be set into ur body with one two sessions. That would include hair color for example. Ofc it takes time BCS your hair has to grow out in the new color, but it's basically set rather quickly.

Now my fav part about this entire thing: it means that in OS there are no beauty standards. They cannot be established BCS nothing can be cherry picked and then gatekept. That also means that most of the cast (excluding Sammy and TK BCS they don't have magic nor were interested in it yet) look how they want to.

So things that are seen traditionally as flaws, stretch marks, lines from age, chubbiness, scars, etc. Are primarily on someone's body BCS they believe it to be beautiful on them.

Kate and Gigi love being chubby, like the stretch marks. Mikhail still adores all of his scars. Alia enjoys being small and aerodynamic. Sascha obv loves everything about his body. And while TK has their insecurities about their scars, they overwise like their body. And Sammy has never thought about not liking their body [outside of gender dysphoria, including TK].

And I care so much about that. If u ever feel like u hate ur body, and if it helps just a tiny bit. All of the RO think you're beautiful, regardless of what you dislike about your looks. They'd never reject nor think badly about your body, BCS even flaws are beautiful.

And you are beautiful, your smile and laugh lights the room, even if u have bad or crooked teeth. The hair on your body is beautiful, acne, moles and freckles are like small kisses on your skin. (my mother used to tell me that each freckle and mole is where an angel kissed me before sending me to earth.) Your eyes are beautiful, with or without glasses, even if you struggle with lazy eyes, or you don't like the color. Any scar on your body, self inflicted or not, is a sign of your survival, from a deep depressive state to tripping one day as a kid. The lines on your face are a reflection of your wisdom, of your emotions, the experiences you've had already. They show how much you've cried, laughed, loved, screamed.

If you struggle with body insecurities, know that all the RO know you're beautiful, and if fictional characters aren't enough, hell, I think you're beautiful.

art tips for your delicious art? also what apps do you use? where do you get references? fav brushes? tablet/phone/laptop/PC u use??

okidoki so! lemme list some stuff :

tips :

don’t care too much about the sketch unless your sketch is going to be your lineart, which is going to be hella good for your render.

for colours it really depends on what you wanna go for but having reference pictures off of pinterest and colour picking what you vibe with is good!

play with brushes and the options of your layers ! (overlay, multiply etc etc)

study anatomy and perspective (tip i made for my bestie right below on how to draw profiles)

apps (this will depend on what i gotta work on)

— krita : super good and free art software that i used a lot for some of my more realistic art

— procreate : got an ipad pretty recently because i want to work on commissions and this allows me to work faster on sketches

and photoshop sometimes, mostly used for my hw like storyboarding (don’t have examples for these ones sorryyyy)

references :

gonna pull out the obvious card but pinterest is the one i use most of the time, the rest for references are either pics i take of myself in the position i want the character(s) to be in or pics i took in art galleries i went. i do follow a few different artists on instagram because their technique is really good and interesting

procreate : for my inking generally i use the GvW ELDER 3.0 from the GvW Ink brush set, the rest i haven’t used much unless it’s for specific things for sceneries such as city windows and plants

tablet/laptop

my ipad is the Ipad Pro (10.5-inch), i don’t have any pressure curve on it so i play with the opacity of my brushes. when it comes to krita though i use my pc (acer n22c1 nitro 5) and my wacom intuos tablet ✨

I actively try to incorporate more diversity into my art style, and admittedly I’m also just unashamedly achillean and men

I specifically have a more cartoony style and admittedly staring at hairy cartoon men does help, but I’m still struggling with stylisation and making it look right

OKOKOK I AM SOOO DAMN EXCITED TO ANSWER THIS...lemme give u my best nate tutorial

SO FIRST THINGS FIRST! what i do is take notice of the general shape of the body hair (usually the chest/tummy/etc) CUZ there is kind of a pattern goin on like the triangular-ish or rectangle-ish shape at the chest, funny line going down the belly, and usually there is more hair around that area going down to the pelvic reigon of the body (btw...the funny line of hair that starts at under the bellybutton is called a "happy trail" :) and its one of my fav things in the world to draw)

SO what is the next step? SIMPLIFY! this works perfectly since u have a more cartoony style (me too 🤝 i get it)

i just try to follow that pattern of body hair whenever i draw it, and for the hair itself i keep it to simple lines or squiggles! AND theres a little bonus one that i don't do enough tbh (the big fluffy...its really good...)

and ofc if ur drawing bodies w little body hair u dont really have to follow the pattern too much, just vaguely LOL

AND FOR backs and legs its pretty much just the same process, except that from what ive seen back hair is a bit more extreme anddd for the legs just do the fast line stroke or squiggle thang ( btw im not the best at drawing backs and uhh i rlly didnt feel like putting effort into the leg so KJSHDFS)

Like ever?Like my five favorite fics of ever? oh boy ok lemme pull up the list

Well immediately I Bit Him so He's Mine is coming to the top of the list which isn't even done yet but is sitting rn at around 40k, is my longest project ever and officially novel length. Between the writing a murder mystery, writing a low fantasy adventure, the gothic/fairytail romance, the hyde wednesday/hyde tyler scenes, the subplots, and the fact that I'm not able nor do i want to rely on psychic visions for information, this is the most involved and exciting project I've probably ever done. Before Wednesday, I hadn't really sat down and written a proper drawn out mystery plot and this is the first where there were no psychic visions either. It's also officially longer than my Absolution novella which is not on this list just because that fic was one of the first I ever wrote and it shows. (though it is special to me because of that)

2. I'll add Wandering in the Dark because it was born of a prompt that my hs senior english teacher gave the class for a project that'd been anticipated (or dreaded depending on who you were) all semester. Basically, we all got to draw a disease (chronic I believe or at least mine was) out of a hat and then just do whatever we wanted writing a story with it. He gave me complete creative freedom. I wrote steter fanfiction which is also why it reads for someone who isn't familiar with teen wolf. I got an A.

3. My Lost Soul (Lead Me to Redemption) was my baby for a long time. It was one of the first pieces I ever wrote in a creative writing class which I then rewrote as sterek fanficiton and evolved into a whole series with Derek, Stiles, and Peter becoming the Hale Pack again. My writing style and quality drastically changes from beginning to end and there's something special about getting to see that firsthand reading this series. I'm sure it would only have continued if I hadn't lost steam for the story.

4. This is not a fair game. I'm not even left my teen wolf list yet.

4. I suppose I'll put Have You Seen Me? because idk I just like it. I like it a lot. I like exploring Tyler immediately after the cave. I like the title and the way the summary is just Tyler's wanted poster. I like how it leads into Wednesday going to Nevermore and I like how they interact with each other and Tyler being an Addams

5. Hold Me Close and it's sister fic Pin Me Down (to be posted) will have to take place as well. I'm counting both because I love them for the same reason. I've been writing officially since 2016 and for at least as long I always knew that I would eventually write my own fuck or die/sex pollen fic and that I'd take the approach of approaching the potential trauma and very present vulnerability present in the premise. Plus, the sex marathon aspect was a good writing challenge to stretch out the sex scene long enough to actually feel like a marathon reading it. Hold Me Close's sex scene was around 3000 words. Pin Me Down's sex scene is 3455 words long.

Honorable mentions for an abandoned multi-chap from high school that I hadn't thought about for years solely because I recently went to a convention where I met a lot of local authors and talked their ears off about writing and the genres we do and our current projects (and I had plenty due to wyler week and the bingo) and this one author recognized my ao3 alias and loved the fic in question. Mark Me an Angel for the hannigram fandom which also is a good example of why you plan a basic plot/direction when you start something.

I’m not used to disagreeing with you bc I usually don’t but the Charles post, woof! Maybe it’s bc I’m not a Charles fan but I am definitely a fan of max. Is it fair to consider you a chirlie at this point? 😂 as a person who prefers Carlos just overall (we exist I know) and how close this season was, just, I know Charles is stamped with the whole predestined thing and his fans like to say Ferrari don’t deserve him just as much as they like to celebrate this whole destiny brand but this season it was very close between Charles and Carlos? They basically traded off being the one more comfortable with a better weekend and close in points as well. It’s just grating to see him written of as like “mid”; when he actually is a very strong driver, good defensive driver maybe sometimes considered too tough by some but I have fun watching him. But everyone’s of course entitled to their own opinions and to like and dislike whoever. I guess it’s the Carlos and Checo comparisons that especially tend to make me go 🤨 bc maybe if you’re looking at Charles and max as being the “special boys” and the “other one” will always be just that. But the Ferrari drivers were closer this season compared to last year and Checo has just been further and further from max so performance wise to compare them… idk if I think it’s too generous to Charles or too unfair to Carlos (sorry Checo I guess).
