“Survival training at the academy,” Rangi said, breaking a bone with her fingers to get at the marrow. “We learned to accept whatever food we could find in the wild.”

“I used to eat garbage,” Kyoshi said.

Without a doubt, it's the Lesser Prairie-Chicken. My friend was able to find a lek site and get permission from the government department which oversaw it to go out and see the birds lekking. I tagged along and despite it being a 4hr drive and a cold night at the campground, I got to see these tiny chickens pouring their heart out into showing off and competing for the ladies nearby. It was absolutely magical.

And they sound so weird!! I'll attach a link below. The uhh.... 'bubble' noises are made using their inflated throat pouches, and the other more 'chicken-y' noises are what they sound like when they're squabbling. They're sooooo cute.

One of the reasons i love reading Kyoshi is her inter monalogue and something i love about it is that she knows about agriculture and its just randomly using this knowledge in her head

(And in her pettiness)

Like in the Daofei city they were worriedly explaining to her how sad and bad it is that they are tied up with a gruop called "Autumn flower society" that have "moon peaches" as their simbol, and how dangerous they were

And Kyoshi first thoght was "moon peaches bloom in the spring, idiots, but of corse they wouldn't know that, they're daofei not farmers"

Or the amont of times they go to a new place and the firt thing she does is cassify the soil as good/bad to plant things

Kyoshi herself acknowledge this trait of hers sometimes

Like she is doing a ditch with earthbending and being like "See that Yokoya??? I can plow land too, i could be a great farmer"

Or when shes eating dust being like "its not eating, its testing, spirits why did i have to know that???"

dracula: being a menace chess.

osyka: writing apology letters because everyone in the institute is an idiot gardening.

ren: trying to prevent the chaos but getting roped into it drawing (mainly portrait art).
